What is your favorite Good Girls episode from each season?
Just one? Oh man! I’m probably in the same boat as most of the fandom with my pics, haha!
Season 1: 1.10 Remix
Because Beth learns a hard lesson. It’s her introduction to her new mentorship program and a taste of reality
Season 2: 2.04 Pick Your Poison
Because Beth crosses an important line and chooses herself in a tipsy moment of honesty (for once.) Her glance at herself in the mirror with that obvious feeling of “what am I doing? who have I become?” is so nicely juxtaposed with her voice crack and shrug in 4.16 when she finally vocalizes to the whole world who she’s accepted she is.
Season 3: 3.06 Frere Jacques
Because of the raw and honest Brio growing pains. Beth’s attempt to hold in her trauma. Her knowledge that no one in the world is there to help her carry that load. And that load inevitably getting too heavy anyway, which leads to her seeking comfort in Rio. Meanwhile, Rio, who is presumably used to handling business this way, somehow also being so overwhelmed by the gravity of the situation, and simultaneously seeking both catharsis and comfort in Beth. And they offer that space to each other. The moment is heavy and angry and hurt and sad. But then it’s quiet and mutually contemplative. They leave feeling both better and worse because such is the nature of their whole relationship.
Season 4: 4.08 Broken Toys
Because of everything spoken and unspoken between them. This is my favorite episode overall because of how deeply emotional it is. I have a lot of headcanon about it and feel that this is their most intimate and vulnerable episode together. The way Rio set her up to betray him and the way he never saw how desperately she tried to choose him. The way her betrayal still hurt him so deeply despite him knowing she’d have no choice but to do it. The way he let her see ALL his wounds by maintaining eye contact during his entire arrest. And she never looked away, accepting her penance and supporting him. Because he deserved it and it was all she had to offer him in that moment. The glimpse we got into the real Rio/Nick dynamic humanized Rio more than seeing his son or seeing his family did. And finally, how open and soft Rio was when he came to Beth in the end, still showing her ALL his wounds. And how he forgave her. Again. 😭😭😭
Thank you so much for this ask, Anon! I love to relive the magic. 🥰
And so Charlie begins her new life, starting in Mt. Komorebi! As soon as she gets off the bus, she finds a secluded spot to make a snow angel. The air is brisk and refreshing, and she can't believe that she's finally making this new start!
She proceeds to go on a hike...
...and proceeds to immediately get electrocuted by some god-forsaken bug. Sorry, Charlie.
