I grinded my PickPocket skill to 100 to get the Perfect Touch perk so I could steal Bryling's fur cloak right off her back.

She's essential. Perfect Touch doesn't work on essential NPCs like her or Jarls.

Some posts say they killed her without mods or console commands but I don't really believe that in a game where mods/cc are a thing and I don't want to kill her, even if I could. Not until after I've done the quest for Pactur atleast. Again, if I could kill her.

Who's Afraid of Bad Attempts at Journalism?

Some of you may have seen a callout post on Medium about Rusty Quill. The author claims to have spoken with a number of people who worked with RQ. The allegations are worth considering, but they should be taken with a heavy grain of salt.

I have trouble taking the callout post seriously for a number of reasons.

The author is head of marketing for Fable & Folly. They initially failed to mention this, but later added this incredibly defensive note: "Editor’s Note: [name] is currently the Marketing Director for Fable & Folly Network, but has worked as an independent creator and journalist for longer." That's a huge conflict of interest.

2. I'm not seeing any evidence that this person is a "journalist." They don't list it on the resume on their website. If they are a journalist, they're not doing it on Medium with (as of this writing) 47 followers.

3. The article title is pure clickbait. It suggests Alex J. Newall is someone to be afraid of and makes vague allegations of RQ showing "aggression," but he's barely mentioned in the article at all. It's an unnecessarily inflammatory title, but that's what they seem to want: to stir drama.

4. The article uses TMA character names as pseudonyms. This was extremely distracting and gave the whole post a weird, cartoonish vibe. As was the decision to use the phrase, "Make your statement, face your fear" to link the post.

5. The article depends entirely on anonymous sources. While anonymous sources are necessary sometimes, the problem is that no one can independently verify what they said. They claim the sources asked to be anonymous because they were afraid RQ would retaliate and ruin their careers, or the fandom would attack them. That may be true. Or it may be because they signed NDAs, which would make it illegal to publicly discuss what happened. An NDA would be a good reason not to come forward, but unfortunately, we can't ask them about it, because they're anonymous.

6. They claim RQ has threatened to sue multiple people--okay, what were the circumstances? It literally never comes back up. Were these NDA violations? Breach of contract? No clue, they don't bother to elaborate.

7. They talk about salaries in different currencies without converting, in the same paragraph. Then they bring up the rates for freelance audio engineers, as if freelancers don't generally get higher rates than in-house staff.

8. The author is finding posts on Twitter and blocking anyone who disagrees with them. I've never interacted with the author, but they found my post and blocked me and others on the thread for daring to criticize the article. That alone speaks volumes about their professionalism. (And also explains why I didn't find any critical comments when I first looked: they're probably all banned).

There are doubtlessly far more issues with the post, but those are just the ones that were immediately apparent.

None of this is to say I think RQ is a well-run company. The dismissive treatment of their server mods alone tells me they have serious problems. But we should all think carefully when we read the allegations in the post, and consider the credibility and motivations of the author.

Solas: There is wisdom, often, in conforming to an appearance to hide ones own individuality—it would be hypocrisy himself to think otherwise. It is good their inquisitor has a healthy skepticism for what they are told, for the Dalish fairy tales of benevolent gods is far from the truth. Perhaps, should he bring the world that was back from oblivion, that attitude will serve them well.

Romanced: He loves her too much to shatter the illusion until they stand together at the final eluvian. Seeing the truth wash over her is almost as painful as watching his magic tear her asunder, and yet the Dress Wolf will not allow his mate -and oh it pains him to acknowledge what they might have been!- to go into this new world unknowing if what comes next. To see the horror that it brings does not please him, nor watching herself curse her own folly for ignoring the stories.

They were only that. The truth is much darker, and she was right to doubt.

Sera: Little people know. They know that the too good stories that chanters and divine types are too good to be true, and so whatever elfy dribble the Dalish are going on about must be more of the same. Andraste might love them all and be singing at The Maker morning to night, but that doesn’t feed the hungry or keep the big ones from stomping down. Good to have a leader who knows when the songs are just that, no matter whose singing the songs.

Romanced: It’s…good. She never expected to find love, certainly not with an elfy elf with all the Dalish ink on her face, but she did and her Inky is…woof. Everything and a side of pie. But the pie would be all mushy and maybe rhubarb if Sera’s best girl was always kn about Mythal and bla bla and wanted the Red Jenny to care about all they old gods locked away cause a wolf took a piddle on them. Better this way.

She’s still not sure why Solas choked on his stew so badly that he needed Cassandra to actually pound his back to get it out, but it was funny as all get out to watch.

I think it would be really interesting if in a hypothetical continuation of Rain World we explore other parts of the world or the facility grounds of other iterators in the local group or beyond. I'm just really curious about what else would be going on during the Pebbles & Moon drama, or how the others inevitably broke down, or where the heck did Rivulet come from/who bestowed the mark, or what other crazy situations unfolded elsewhere. I dunno I've always just been fond of exploring and learning more about a story's worldbuilding

Oh definitely! There's so much story/region/new mechanic potential for Rain World and it's already such a massive game. Though the limitations of what we see of RW just means all the more opportunity for people to get creative with their stories!

I think some people are interested in making mods like this (I'm saying this with cursory knowledge - I don't follow the modding community closely - correct me if I'm wrong). For a multi-region expansion, it seems very ambitious and like it'd require a lot of work from a lot of people. Downpour was already huge enough as a DLC~

I don't know if RW's going to have more stuff added in the future, but if it does I'm gonna eat it right up :)

My friend Folly and I made a new campaign concept wayyy back when I first played Downpour in January. You play as the Collector, a brown slugcat with a pearl belt. You've been sent by some unknown iterator to gather data from an experimental local group strewn across an archipelago. There were two other campaigns in this setting: The Painter who sought to capture the beauty of the world, and The Noble who leads a colony of slugcats long after Saint's era, long after the iterators have all died out, when the world is recovering from the ice age.

There were also a bunch of other slugcats who had mini-campaigns or were otherwise noncanonical playables. It was all way too huge of an undertaking to even dream about making a mod, but it's still very fun to think about stuff like that.

@doctor4t I have a couple changes for the Rat mod that could be fun/make world domination substantially easier

• Changing into a rat plays the marketable plushie sound (not sure what it’s called, you used it in your Folly ad)

• Not sure if you did this, but the Mask mod Lux made (or helped with, idk) has a feature where wearing a mask hides your UN. Could be pretty useful?

• Perhaps putting a netherite block in a compressed/grinder thingy could make one clothed ingot, would be pretty symbolic considering what started this whole thing

• Putting a rat in an item frame makes a little house for them, with a couple special ones based on the block the frame is on

• Scratchy rat (like from the simpsons)

• Clownpierce rat, Luxintrus rat (Luxintrat?), and EightSidedRat

• I would like to suggest that Clown rats have a small chance to spawn with the funny scythe or hammer, if the mods are installed

• Custom paintings that replace famous pieces with rats (Mona Lisa, The Scream, etc.)

• Rats dance for music like parrots

Also, some ideas that need more explaining:

• A little trumpet you can give to rats that make them play short segments of songs, as well as random notes. I’m thinking Megalovania among others, and a 1/10000 chance of just making the doot sound effect.

• And this might be a bit OP, so I suggest 8 Clothed Blocks for the recipe, but maybe surrounding 1 item with the aforementioned blocks, you can give that item to a rat for them to use, like the laser bows y’all have, or a pickaxe to make them mine faster. Only one item at a time, and you would be able to see it on their backs. Since it’s so expensive, with my proposed netherite conversion making it 5184[?] Netherite Ingots for 1 rat item, plus the item in question, I think either triple durability, or maybe even infinite, would be good.

Enchants would probably need to be applied after the rat item is made, since it could get way to complex to code otherwise.

hey. i rarely go political in here because it's a space for me to truly chill, hence i am going on here as anon.

the work you're doing is phenomenal. it's affecting a small part of the majority, but it's good work nonetheless. it's tiring to continuously see people hype up the current govt. and not criticise them and their actions — our democracy is falling at a rapid place and all indians are on about is hindu muslim mandir masjid.

We usually don't post about politics on this blog either. We typically do it on our own personal blogs. That's not to say that we kept any and all opinions away from the page either. People that have been following us for a while know that we have occasionally posted something if we felt it pertinent at the time.

I posted something this time because I saw posts circling around with some objectionable content in them and it surprised me because I recognised the usernames. It's a little silly but I typically do remember the usernames of our followers, it's pretty hard not to. You have to imagine the shock and hurt I felt that these were the same people engaging with our posts and enjoying them. Did these people felt like we shared their opinions? Had we somehow fucked up and cultivated that sort of a community? My first instinct was to delete this entire blog, I will not lie to you. The thought that something I was involved in making and curating was somehow fueling followers of Hindutva? I honestly couldn't stand it. After it calmed down, I made a post and a clarification reblog. I expected those users to just unfollow us, maybe send us a curse or two over anon and that would be it.

I'm glad I didn't delete the blog after so many people have confirmed that the community here isn't all like that.

The state of India's politics honestly leaves a lot, A LOT, to be desired. It was exhausting seeing all the fuss about an unfinished mandir when we have so many other important things to talk about. Any sort of criticism or opposition has been completely wiped off the board by the current government and they expect me to care about the mandir? The leader of the nation won't even do an open interview, let alone a press conference. Falling prey to the religious angle of their politics is a folly. People are being coddled and distracted as their own houses burn down. How much longer will this go on? How much worse will this get? These questions haunt me.

Having a silly meme blog was supposed to be a fun activity to break the monotony and mundanity of existence. Turns out, now I have to make sure that this silly thing doesn't get infected by the horrors too.

Life is transiently long and fighting the horrors is a herculean task. I'm grateful for every voice of support because it makes me feel like I'm not alone out here.

These mods are not technically in the build but are needed to have mods (syboulette's crossfit and aira's rice cooker specifically) functional.

Vehicles

Technically, the two vehicles used for this build use the the Breeze Motors 2018 Mercedes E-Class Wagon and the 2020 Maserati Quattroporte as their base. I won't link to the download page as its a perma-paywaller and I fundamentally disagree with how Breeze Motors is handling their patreon personally. I will leave it to you to decide if you want their CC and how you acquire it if you choose to do so.

For my personal game, I have edited and stripped down my copies of these two cars and modified them so that they work with Simnation Travel. I have a pinned patreon post that is not paywall locked here explaining that more in depth and include the required files HERE.

I should note that in addition to lacking the door open /close options of the original as those were stripped down, the textures were redone with simlish for a more maxis match look in game.

Mods for this Build

These are not technically required for the build to function but this build was built using overrides for both Sim Realist's SNB Bills mod as well as Simnation Travel vehicles. You shouldn't get any weird errors if you load the build in without those mods but if there's an exception caught by MCC related to that, it's probably just reconciling that the override the lot was built with is not in place in your game. It should only be a one time alert the first time the game loads in if it happens and should not cause any issue other than MCC making a noise at you about it noticing weirdness.

(The SNB provides the High Speed Internet trait to the lot and I think it will just set that trait to empty if its loaded without but I haven't personally confirmed it, hence the note here. ) Additional Note

Never have I regretted my "collector" mentality in games more than this moment.

well maybe not, but this still sucks lol

So in my trek from like 2015 or whenever until now in warframe I've been F2P the whole time, and it's only VERY recently, like, last two years roughly, where I wasn't "living plat to plat".

Like two years ago or so I started trading hardcore and now plat is whatever. I'm not rich, or flushed with ridiculous purchases, or stacked with cosmetic everything, and I'm still F2P so I don't have like premium only stuff, but for the last couple years I've been Comfortable.

I've been able to waste plat on forma whenever the fuck a random idea pops in my head, I've been buying slots instead of selling weapons, all that jazz. I usually sit on a stock of 1k plat, I'm currently below that due to this 'project', but usually.

But that wasn't always the case and long-winded ramble aside, I used to sell everything to make room for new MR fodder, and now that I'm L3 and am closing the door on my overall collection for like, mods and stuff, I'm being confronted by my collector folly.

so I've been leveling so fucking many weapons for effectively no reason and I'm so tired lol

There are nearly 600 weapons in the game.

I sold. Most. Of Them.

I am now making All Of Them Again And Leveling Them Again.

I haven't even started dojo bps, fuck. I'm already tired from having to make so many dupes for other weapons that require them to be made, let alone the leveling aspect, let alone the grinding for drops aspect, let alone that entire huge list of dojo weapons I don't have on hand anymore.
