When Itadori finds out that you are creatively talented, this boy will always ask you if you are planning to draw/paint soon because he wants to watch you do whatever you choose to do.

It is known that Itadori is your number one fan and supporter and will cheer for you in the background quietly because he knows that you need to concentrate when you’re doing your thing.

When you are either painting or drawing, Itadori will always sit next to you with his head on your shoulder because he wants to see the process but mostly the final result.

If you are painting, Itadori will ask if he can help mix paints to make different colours for you since he doesn’t want to ruin the piece you are making.

Imagine him shyly using an extra paintbrush and just cutely mixing colours next to you - guys...I can’t, I’m going to start crying.

Even though he is nervous, when you want him to paint on your canvas, he would always ask you what colour to use and where to paint even when you tell him he can do anything he wants and you’ll go on from there.

During this time, he will apologise profusely when he thinks he has ruined the painting - so please tell him that he is doing a good job as he goes along, it gives him confidence.

Since he is your number one fan, he will take a picture of your sketches/paintings and shows them off to everyone like the proud boyfriend he is.

“Look! Look! Y/N drew this yesterday, isn’t it so cool?!”

Fushiguro and Kugisaki will be amazed but will get annoyed at Itadori constantly shouting at them to look at your art - “We already know Y/N is an amazing artist, you don’t need to keep telling us…”

If you gift him a painting or a sketch of him, this boy will cherish it with all his heart and will compliment on how well you got his features - you can’t tell me otherwise at all.

In conclusion, Itadori will be the proudest boyfriend ever and will show you off - not in a possessive way - it’s more out of happiness and cheeriness.

When Fushiguro discovers your artistic talents, he will invite you over to his dorm to hang out together as an excuse to see you draw or continue on what art piece you were doing before.

He knows that you don’t ever come to his room without your art supplies because usually, you both are in his room just silently with each other.

He will stay silent and leave you to continue your work - when you are in your dorm room - but expect him to keep coming back once every 5 minutes to admire your work over your shoulder until you tell him that he could say if he wanted.

His favourite sights to see is when you are on his bed laying on your stomach sketching away on your book or you sitting on a stool with your canvas and easel in the sunlight with the touch of his divine dog calmly laying on the floor beside you.

Sometimes, when you are in his room, you would ask him if he wanted to draw with you, to which, of course, he would deny the offer since he doesn’t want to ruin your sketchbook.

Once you convince him it’s fine, it is known on a daily occurrence that you would draw/paint on one page of your sketchbook and he would do the same on the other - if he can, he would hold your other hand.

When you are feeling bored, Fushiguro will allow you to draw on his arm since he knows it’s a coping mechanism for you - I don’t think he would wash it off anytime soon…

Unlike itadori, it is unknown to you that he takes pictures of you drawing/painting as well as your work - he probably has a whole folder dedicated to you and a picture of you painting is probably his wallpaper.

If you draw him, expect him to blush and ask why and if you tell him ‘it’s because you are pretty’ that blush will just go redder.

I don’t think he will show your talent off, not because he’s not proud but maybe because he wants this knowledge to only himself - like yours and his little secret I guess.

Overall, Fushiguro is someone that will admire your work but also want to somehow relate to you by joining in with your sketching sessions - he has some pride inside of him to have such an artistic partner but wants to keep that to himself.

When Gojo finds out that you can draw and paint, he will always try to find your sketchbook and canvas to see if you have done anything new without his knowledge - because curiously kills that cat right?

If you have drawn something without his knowledge, he will pout and complain to you on why you didn’t tell him about it

“Honey~ why didn’t you tell me you were going to draw this week? I wanted to watch you~”

If you draw/paint him in any way, he will get cocky and confident because, of course, he is an amazing subject to be used.

Of course, Gojo has to be that one person that takes a picture of something and will ask you if you could draw/paint what is depicted on the phone screen.

He will also allow you to draw on him and expect him to take a few photos while you are doing so because he thinks you look adorable doing so.

He will also ask you if you want him to model for you - because he is confident in his looks - and if you say ‘yes’ make sure to say what you want to draw from him because he thinks you want to draw all of him.

When you are painting, do not expect a peaceful session, because this guy will play with your paints and paint-brushes.

What I mean by this is him dabbing a paintbrush into the paint before brushing it on your face or anywhere that you are showing skin.

His excuse will be because you are a masterpiece and he will continue to swipe white paint on your face and maybe your hair to ‘match with him’.

Gojo will also mix paint to match the colour of his eyes and will use it to paint on you also - he just loves to tease you.

If you paint of him, he will cuddle you to get you both messy with paint since it’s another excuse of his to have a shower together~

In conclusion, Gojo will always mess with you when you are drawing and painting, he wants to be the subject of most of your works but he is grateful that he has a talented significant other like you.

Namami will give you more privacy than his senior - Mr Gojo Satoru - because he has an idea on how much time and concentration it takes to make one masterpiece.

When you are in the middle of something, Nanami will make you some of your favourite beverage and place it next to you with a bowl of fruit or his favourite sandwich.

His favourite site of you when you draw is when you both go on a coffee date together and you sit next to him with your sketchbook in hand - he would have a soft look on his face as he admires you and the book.

When you are painting, it would be you that will brush some paint on him since why not help him have a little fun?

He will groan at you for being a bit annoying but once he hears you laugh, he will forget about the little incident since this moment is something he wants to appreciate with you.

If you do any artwork that is related to him, he would seem nonchalant about it but you know on the inside he is really proud of you.

He would admire the work for a long time even when you have gone to do something else and if you are sly about it, you could see him sitting on your stool with a small smile being displayed on his face.

When the painting has dried or when a drawing has been completed, he would gently trace the drawing and will ask for a copy of it - even though he already has a picture of it on his phone, he just wants more.

“It’s really incredible Y/N, thank you for doing this”

When you have finished your work for the day or if you are tired, he will help you clean up and place your work somewhere for it to be safe or to dry since he is really proud of your work and doesn’t want anything to happen to it.

He doesn’t really have pet names for you - usually, it’s darling, love or something endearing - but he will add a new one for you and he will call you his “little artist”.

Overall, Nanami is very discreet when it comes to you and your art but is really amazed by all your work since he is a person that takes everything to detail - sometimes he is shocked at how well you get every little detail into your work.

All of Harry’s teeth are still intact.

For now, at least.

He knows that mouthguards exist—there’s one tucked between his lips every single time he enters the ring. But even then…sometimes punches go awry. Sometimes your opponent dodges at the last second. Sometimes people end up with a mouthful of leather and a few loose incisors. He always keeps one fist near his chin, shielding the lower half of his face from any blows that come his way.

Speaking of blows coming his way…

He ducks away from the straight jab that the man throws—The Wall, they call him. Harry had rolled his eyes when the nickname boomed across the room, soon lost in the roar of the crowd.

He’s never been one for flashy introductions. He prefers to let his technique speak for itself. His brand is his name. Harry Styles. Simple, concise, and so utterly deceiving. He loves watching the smile melt from his opponent’s face, basks in the moment when they realise that he’s tougher than his name suggests.

The Wall jabs again, and Harry successfully dodges the punch. He doesn’t register the other fist hooking around, however, until the blunt front of the man’s glove makes contact with the side of his head. Usually, a blow like that wouldn’t even faze him. But the sheer force behind the hit knocks him off-balance, stumbling to the side as he loses his footing and inhaling sharply when his shoulder collides with the ground.

The yells from the crowd are deafening. Harry coughs, trying to guide air back into his lungs. When he blinks, black spots dance across his vision. Subconsciously, his eyes trace a path upward, past the floor, past his opponent’s feet, past the ropes encompassing the ring. Higher and higher, still, past jeering faces and sloshing beer bottles and grungy eye makeup. All the way to the top of the bleachers, to the exit—to you.

That’s been your unofficial spot for the past two years. Once you turned twenty, your father finally gave in, allowing you to attend Harry’s matches in exchange for the cessation of your endless badgering. You always stand near the door, observing the commotion with thoughtful eyes and puckered lips. Despite himself, Harry has started to think of you as his lucky charm. It’s dangerous—he always swore that he wouldn’t be one of those overly-superstitious athletes—but he can’t help it. He just seems to perform better when you’re around.

Through the rocky field of his vision, he can see just how wide your eyes have grown. There’s an unmistakable look of concern on your face as you watch the fight unfold. Your hand finds its way to the base of your throat, playing nervously with the rose-gold pendant resting there. You crane your neck to get a better view of the ring, your pupils flitting back and forth between Harry and the frighteningly large man looming over him.

A warm rush of adrenaline floods Harry’s veins. The saliva that has gathered in his mouth tastes stale on his tongue. He spits it out as he staggers to his feet. The crowd grows louder, somehow.

The Wall’s smile shrinks as Harry assumes his previous position; his hands orient themselves in front of his face. His opponent gnashes his teeth, seemingly annoyed with the fact that the match has not ended. Harry shakes off the dizziness clouding his brain, and then he’s lunging forward with a newfound sense of determination. He throws punch after punch, sidestepping The Wall’s returning attempts. All he can think about is the fact that you’re up there, watching, waiting, worrying. He never wants to see you like that again.

You’re his goddamn lucky charm.

His victory comes in the form of an uppercut followed immediately by a nasty right hook. The Wall—this big, towering man with bulging biceps and rippling pectorals—crumples to the ground. Harry waits, his chest heaving with exertion as the countdown begins. He’s prepared to watch his opponent rise again, to shift back into a fighting stance and start over. But as the seconds trickle by and The Wall remains motionless on the ground, he soon finds the tension in his body seeping out into the hot, sticky air.

His shoulders sag in relief as a single promising word echoes through the grimy arena.

“Knockout!”

The crowd thins out considerably in the ten minutes following the termination of the match. Harry stumbles out of the ring, sliding through the ropes and pulling his mouthguard from between his lips. Your father is waiting for him with a smile on his face, holding out an arm and helping him jump down from the raised platform.

“Well done, H,” he says, patting his back proudly.

Harry pants and nods. Your father holds out a reusable water bottle for him to take—he accepts it graciously and gulps down the cold liquid with fat, greedy slurps. Once he pulls the nozzle away from his mouth, he runs the back of his hand over his face to catch any stray droplets that have collected on his chin.

“Thanks, Coach.”

“You took a pretty hard fall, there,” your father says, guiding him to sit down on a bench propped up against the wall. “Medic’s in the back. He’s checking out Aaron right now, but you’re next.” He taps his index finger against Harry’s temple. “We’ve got to make sure everything’s alright up there.”

Harry sucks in a deep breath, his eyebrows knitting together in confusion. “Who the fuck is Aaron?”

“Oh.” Your father laughs. “Aaron. The Wall. Whatever you want to call him.”

Harry frowns. “Don’t like that. Makes him sound like a dick.”

A new voice enters the conversation.

“That’s because he is.”

Harry’s head snaps to the side, and there you are.

You look nice, as usual. There’s something about you that he can never seem to properly describe. You always look so…clean. If he tried to vocalize his thoughts, he’s sure that you would look at him like he was crazy.

But in his head, it makes sense. You take care of yourself. Your nails are spotless, your hair smells good, and he knows that you must dab spritzes of perfume onto your pulse points before you leave the house, because a fresh scent follows you wherever you go. Even now, as you stand a few feet away with your hands on your hips, he catches it on a deep inhale. Not flowery, not fruity, just…clean. Refreshing. Light. Breezy.

Your father snaps him out of his reverie, and he realises that he should probably stop listing every word in the thesaurus.

“How do you know?” Your father’s inquiry is curious. He shoots you a puzzled look, his mouth curling down into a soft scowl.

You roll your eyes. “Called me ‘sweet thing’ before the match started and asked me if I was the prize,” you say, sticking your tongue out in disdain. “I told him to go fuck himself.”

Harry’s lips twitch.

Your father chuckles. “That’s my girl.”

You laugh quietly, shaking your head. “What time are we leaving?” you ask. The question is directed at your father, who is fiddling with the drawstrings hanging from his sweater. “I was hoping to study a bit more before bed.”

“Soon, gioia,” your father says. “As soon as Harry gets checked out, we’ll be on our way.”

You nod, and—for what feels like the first time since you cut into the interaction—you glance down at Harry. “Hi,” you say softly, shooting him a small, friendly smile.

He meets your gaze for only a moment. Everything about you is so gentle. Your irises are like melted pots of honey, regarding him with such warmth he feels like he’ll never be cold again. “Hi.”

“Congratulations on your win,” you murmur. Harry wants to bottle your voice and save it as a keepsake. “You made a great comeback.”

Because of you, he wants to say, but he bites his tongue. “Thank you,” he offers up instead, the words scraping against the roof of his mouth and tumbling unceremoniously into the air between you.

A moment of silence ensues as you wait for him to say something—anything—else. But he’s done. You nod once before turning back to your father, who is tweaking the settings of the watch wrapped around his wrist.

“Do you know where the washrooms are?” you ask. You toy absentmindedly with the necklace hanging from your throat. “I need to pee.”

“You can use the one in the women’s locker room,” your father tells you, throwing a thumb over his shoulder. “Around the corner, first door on the left.”

“Thanks,” you say, slipping by and pressing a quick peck to his cheek. “I’ll be right back.”

He just nods in agreement, still too preoccupied with his watch.

Harry, on the other hand, can’t keep his eyes off of you as you walk away. He takes note of the way that you tuck your hair behind your ear, how you shoulder the strap of your purse to keep it from slipping down your arm, how you walk with a purpose despite being so moderate and kind. His gaze falls momentarily to the sway of your hips, the enticing nature of your waist. He stares for a long moment before tearing away, clearing his throat and blinking a few times in quick succession.

“Proud of you, H,” your father pipes up, tapping the face of his watch twice before dropping his arm with a sigh. “You did well out there.”

“Thanks,” Harry mutters. A spark of guilt flares up in his chest when he realises that he had been blatantly ogling you with your father standing only a few feet off to the side. He silently berates himself, shaking his head free of any alluring thoughts.

Your father’s phone chirps with the arrival of a new notification. He fishes the device out of his pocket and glances down at the screen.

“Let’s go,” he tells Harry, jerking his head to the right. “Medic’s ready for you, now.”

January 13, 2021

“C’mon, H, be smart with it! Watch how he angles himself!”

And Harry’s trying, really, but Arthur—or Artie, as your father likes to call him—is a hunkering titan of a man. He used to be your father’s star athlete before retiring, and now…now he’s working in finance, or something akin to that. Harry isn’t one hundred percent sure; he usually zones out when people begin to discuss the stock market.

Artie throws a right hook, but Harry sees it coming and blocks it with ease. They move in a circle, focussed only on each other while other individuals outside of the ring totter around.

Harry prefers to train on weekdays during the afternoon, because that’s when the gym isn’t as packed. Right now, only a handful of other people are working out, lifting weights or doing cardio exercises. Harry and Artie are here so often that nobody even blinks an eye anymore. And your father…well, he runs the place. Of course he would be here.

The sparring continues. When Harry refuses to make the first move, Artie sticks one glove out, beckoning him forward. “Come here, pretty boy.”

“Don’t make me pull your hair,” Harry grits, because Artie’s ponytail is swinging temptingly from beneath his headgear.

The other man laughs good-naturedly before lunging. Harry blocks his uppercut and delivers a strong, pointed jab right to the middle of his chest. Artie stumbles backward, inhaling sharply as the breath is knocked from his lungs. Harry bites back a smile.

“Nice, H!” your father calls.

“Thanks, Coach,” he mutters.

The front door of the gym opens, accompanied by the soft tinkling of a bell to announce the new arrival. Harry’s attention is reflexively drawn toward the direction of the sound, and his heartbeat stutters beneath his ribs.

You’re there, with your hair tied back in a low bun and silver hoops hanging from your ears. You’re holding a tray of coffee in your left hand, and there’s a warm smile on your face. You wave excitedly as you greet Portia, the middle-aged woman sitting behind the front desk. The two of you chat as you shrug off your jacket and tug the sleeves of your sweater over your hands.

Your mouth moves languidly. Though Harry is too far to hear your voice, he has a pretty good idea of what you’re saying. Your eyes widen and you shiver dramatically, shaking your head.

It’s cold!

A heavy fist makes contact with the side of his jaw, and he falls to the ground.

Your father’s loud exclamation pulls your attention away from Portia and toward the ring on the opposite end of the room. Harry groans lowly as he pushes himself to his knees, tilting his head from side to side and cracking his neck. When he turns to face your father, he finds him frowning through the gaps between the ropes.

“What the hell was that?” he asks, shooting Harry a disappointed look.

“Sorry,” Harry mumbles, climbing to his feet with a grunt. “Got distracted.”

He chances a glance back at you, and his shoulders grow tense when he realises that you’re making your way over to the ring, the tray of coffee held between your hands like a peace offering.

“Hello, boys,” you singsong. “I brought drinks.”

“Thanks, sweetheart,” your father says as you hand him his designated cup. He leans forward, pressing a quick kiss to your hair. You hum happily in response.

“Jason!” you call out as Artie approaches the side of the ring. “I got your lemonade.”

“Thanks, little girl,” Artie hums, accepting his drink graciously and taking a long sip from the straw. “And for the hundredth time, stop calling me ‘Jason’.”

“Stop calling me ‘little girl’,” you shoot back, laughing deviously. “I can’t help it if you look like him, okay? You’re even the same age, too.” You cock one eyebrow. “Should I start calling you ‘Aquaman’ instead?”

“God, no.” Artie shakes his head vehemently. “Let’s stick to Jason. ’Least that’s a real name.”

You giggle as he ambles away. Your eyes shift over to Harry—who has kept silent the entire time—and your lips curl up into a kind smile. “Hi, Harry.”

“Hi.” His voice is guttural.

“Last, but not least,” you murmur, plucking his drink from the tray and holding it up for him to take. “One black coffee, right?”

“Right,” he confirms with a curt nod. He tugs his bulky gloves off, dropping them to the floor and reaching out to accept the cup. A strong spark pricks at his hand when his fingers brush against yours. Your responding gasp is soft, barely-noticeable—if he weren’t so painfully aware of everything you do, he would have missed it completely.

“Thank you,” he says, guiding the coffee to his mouth and taking a small sip.

“No problem.” You smile up at him again, and God, that fucking smile. He wants it tattooed onto the backs of his eyelids. A wave of heat blooms in his chest and creeps up his neck, but thankfully, the pink flush blends in with his sweat-slicked, already-rosy skin.

“How was class, sweetheart?” your father asks, tilting his head to the side.

“It was good.” You shrug, tossing a thumb over your shoulder. “I’m going to head home now, though—I have a proposal due in a few days and I really need to get started.”

“Go, go,” your father concedes. You bid him goodbye before standing on your tiptoes and craning your neck to catch sight of Artie, who is quite evidently enjoying his lemonade.

“Bye, Jason!”

“Bye, little girl!”

You laugh. Your gaze lands on Harry again, eyes sparkling and features resolutely tender. “Bye, Harry.”

He swallows down the hard lump in his throat. “Bye.”

He just thinks that she’s good, okay?

But he knows that Artie and your father would never let him hear the end of it, so he keeps that information private. During practice, he’ll endure whatever shitty tunes Artie picks from his own library, and he won’t say a word. He’s not in the ring to dance, anyway. He’s there to make money—albeit illegally—because quite frankly, he hasn’t discovered an aptitude for anything else.

It’s late—the gym is technically closed. But the great thing about having the owner for a coach is the fact that Harry was given another key to add to his collection. Your father doesn’t care, as long as he locks up after he’s done. Harry has spent more time here than at his own home, he imagines. It’s nice when it’s quiet—it gives him plenty of time to think.

The back of his t-shirt is soaked through with sweat. He’s gazing at the ceiling as he lifts the heavy weights up and down over his torso. A bubbly song is playing on his phone, keeping his energy high.

So what if he listens to Ariana Grande? She makes great music.

The distinctive sound of footsteps reaches his ears. He pauses, setting the weightlifting bar back onto its rack and sitting up quickly. The noise is coming from the stairs that lead down to the swimming pool in the basement. Harry stands, and though his muscles are already screaming from previous exertion, he readies himself for the worst.

You appear at the top of the flight, your slippers smacking against each step loudly. You’re ruffling a towel against your wet hair, your head angled to the side as you squeeze out any excess water. Upon catching sight of Harry, you freeze in your tracks.

“Oh. Harry. Hi.”

“Hi,” he says slowly. “I…didn’t know you were here.”

“I didn’t know you were here,” you reply wryly, a small smirk making its way onto your lips.

Harry scratches sheepishly at the back of his neck. “Yeah. Er…I was just working out.”

You nod, your expression coy. “I can see that.”

An awkward silence hangs in the air. Harry clears his throat, rubbing his jaw with his fingers because what else is he supposed to do? “Were you—did you go for a swim?”

“Yeah,” you say. Your shoulders deflate, like you’re almost grateful that he’s contributed more to the conversation. “Spent half the time doing laps, and the other half on my phone.” Your lips quirk up with the feeble joke.

Harry chuckles weakly. “That’s just how it is, sometimes.”

Your eyes flutter shut for only a moment. “Yeah.”

More silence. Harry chews nervously on his bottom lip. Why the fuck can’t he speak?

The song playing from his phone changes. Your eyes narrow ever-so-slightly when a few upbeat notes trickle into the air, followed immediately by the smooth crooning of a woman’s voice. “Is this…,” you hesitate, and he can see how you’re fighting a smile, “…Carly Rae Jepsen?”

“Uh,” he says dumbly, uncertain of how to proceed. Sure enough, I Really Like You by Carly Rae Jepsen is filtering through the taut atmosphere, painfully loud now that the two of you are truly paying attention to it.

A high-pitched laugh falls from your mouth, and your shoulders shake with the force of your amusement. Harry, unable to help himself, begins to chuckle along with you. Heat blooms across his cheeks, but he’s not as embarrassed as he thought he’d be. Your giggles aren’t derisive, he realises.

He’s nearly overcome with the urge to take you in his arms, then, but he resists.

“Late night, watching the television…,” you sing quietly, and then you’re dissolving into merriment all over again.

Once your joint laughter subsides, you shoot him a bright grin. Harry tries his best to return it, though he doesn’t think that he mirrors your smile to its full extent. You sigh in delight, shouldering the strap of your bag and tossing your towel over your forearm.

“That honestly made my night,” you tell him, utterly sincere.

His heart somersaults in his chest. “’M glad.”

“Well,” you say, shrugging gently, “I should probably go.”

“Yeah.” His response is hollow. He lifts his hand in a half-hearted wave. “Have a good night.”

“You too.”

He lies back down with a grunt as you make your way toward the exit. His fingers wrap around the weightlifting bar, about to pull it off of its resting place, when your voice suddenly rings out again.

“Harry?”

“Yeah?” He sits up too quickly, nearly catching his forehead against the metal of the bar. When he turns around to face you, he finds you doubling back, approaching him and nibbling apprehensively on your bottom lip.

“I actually—,” you pause, like you’re unsure of how to continue, “I was wondering if I could ask you something.”

“Sure,” he says, rubbing his hands over the black shorts covering his thighs. “Go ahead.”

“It might be kind of weird,” you warn. “Don’t laugh at me.”

He shakes his head, blinking solemnly. “I won’t.”

“Would you—,” you begin, and your fingers come up to play with the pendant resting at the base of your throat, “—teach me how to box?”

“I—,” Harry recoils slightly, taken aback by your question. “What?”

“Would you teach me how to box?” you repeat, though your voice is significantly smaller. “I want to learn how to defend myself.”

“Against what?” he asks, his brows knitting together in concern. “Is everything alright?”

“Everything’s fine.” You wave away his worries with an inattentive flick of your hand. Harry’s eyes narrow as he studies your face. You refuse to meet his gaze.

You’re lying, he realises, straight through your pretty teeth. But it would be impolite of him to pry, wouldn’t it? And this is the first time that the two of you have ever been really, truly alone; he doesn’t want to fuck it up.

“Okay,” he says slowly, even though he doesn’t believe your guarantee.

He pulls at the hem of his t-shirt, tugging it up and wiping his face with the fabric. When he fixes his gaze on you once more, he thinks he catches your eyes drifting across his torso. Cocking one eyebrow curiously, he climbs to his feet.

“What do you want to learn?” he asks, reaching for his phone and pausing the music streaming from the device.

“Anything,” you say breathlessly. “Everything.”

His lips twitch.

“I—,” he scratches at his nose with two fingers, “—I don’t really have a set schedule, you know, between practice and actual matches.”

“I know.” You nod understandingly.

“And I know you have school,” he continues, tilting his head to the side. “Are you sure you want to do this?”

“Positive,” you tell him. There’s something strong burning in your eyes; he can’t quite figure out what it is. “I want to train. Just…don’t tell my dad, okay?”

“Okay,” he repeats. He swallows heavily, offering his phone to you. “Put your number in, yeah? I’ll text you on the nights I’m free, and if you’re not too busy, we can meet up here.”

“Alright,” you concede softly. You take the device from him, and he pretends not to notice just how badly your hands are shaking. Your nails tap quietly against the screen, and before you know it, you’re passing the phone back to him with your information saved under a new contact.

“Alright,” Harry echoes.

The two of you stare at each other for a long, silent moment. The spell is broken, however, when you finally take a step back, clearing your throat and tucking a strand of damp hair behind your ear.

“I should go,” you say. “For real, this time.”

“For real.” Harry nods.

“You’ll lock up, right?” you ask, retreating toward the exit.

“Yup,” he says, popping the last letter instinctively. At that, you smile, your mouth curling up into a soft, inviting crescent.

“Okay,” you murmur, placing one hand on the door. “Goodnight, Harry.”

He watches you go with forlorn eyes and empty lungs. “Goodnight.”

My YCCTEAM's Wireless Switch Pro Controller - Part 16/Final (Career Mode racing in Asphalt 9: Legends)

What's up guys? Welcome back to be at another YCCTEAM Controller topic review share, but guess what? This will be the final video post that I've been waiting for a long time or in case a year half and months since the beginning of revealing my controller back in 🎃October 3rd, 2020. Even though it needed takes time to make sure to correct in details such as doing comparison from my other controllers, testing its buttons, battery charging to battery life results, and pretty much else I've been gone through in months. However, there is one more topic review post that I'm bringing to an end as of my decision; especially when if I'll be doing other topic reviews to my new items soon.

For today's post though, I decided to merge two videos as originally gotten both recordings from last week I've been saving. It's something that I should've done from my past video postings while I'm in YCCTEAM Controller topic reviews, but nevertheless it was alright when I'm getting used to. Anyways, I'm back to try out my final testing as you expected while I'm at Asphalt 9: Legends again. This time I'll turn up the notch by doing real racing with other opponents in career mode and both of the control settings to use after from doing tutorial last month.

However for this topic review post to share, I wanted to go back its first challenge to race through like I did in last year, but showing off my YCCTEAM Controller again and using the same car of Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution; as I previously used on few challenges or just one during my career progress from last year. I'm giving some upgrades along the way, but hoping I can show it during my contining Asphalt 9: Legend's progress soon. Let's get into it as It'll be the final topic review post for my controller.

During two of my recording videos being merged, I'm using my controller to show as I'm racing through San Francisco track against other racers like I previously did in January 2020....two times to be exact when I used both different control settings from manual to gyro like last time when I'm showing off during tutorial mode last month.

It's gonna be different to see which settings I can used for my career mode in progress; despite being obvious it had to be manual settings with pressing buttons for acceleration, brake, and nitro boost. I'm just making this as I'll go along when using both settings once again. I'll even bring the results after crossing the finish line for the races end and how much did I do in time. If I can remember my first one back in Janaury 2020 was 00:43.366 or 43 minutes and 366 seconds while during its first challenge I gotten. Here's my last year's screenshot in high quality to get a better look.

Just wondering how it can compared to my other two racing results during this recording. Well I'll tell ya this is gonna be interesting and hoping to my closest friends to see as well.

On first half until 1:22, I'm doing my first racing through San Franciso track in title "City Dash" where I needed to reach the goal from other opponents they'll trying to catch on me. I did good while using my YCCTEAM Controller in manual setting with the steering analog stick and some tricks like jumping on ramps. However, I was bumping into things while I'm trying to press the left button for brake and drifts, but other times was performing the 360 move at opponents for no strange reason that I'm trying to get knockdowns. ^^* (at least I did have one knockdown on first half, though) Anyways while continuing my race, I made it to a finish line at the end from doing turns, jumping into ramps like two times, and some bumping into walls that I'm trying my best to dodge those. So my racing time results was unexpected since January 2020 is the very first one I've gotten while I'm in manual. Instead, my new racing time results change to 00:44.647 or 44 minutes and 647 seconds while I'm in manual settings a second time as before. I was so close that it should've been much lesser than that if I could make some room in obstacle or something. Nevertheless, it was of really was while doing my YCCTEAM Controller post to share, but at least it was a good first half.

As for the second half though, I'm switched up to gyro control when using my controller to move left and right. During another racing track through San Francisco, I've gotten into somewhat good start as well when using my controller to move my car and the buttons for acceleration, brake/drift, etc while reaching the racing goal again. That being said however as I'm still working on some "errors" while having to race against opponents. Mostly though was while perform my ramp jump, I've almost getting crash into the wall just before landing on the road by luck. It happens at 02:14 to 02:18, but man that it was still lucky or otherwise would've been ruin if I'll start all over again. I tried to steer to get away from and some others that I've keep bump into to get knockdowns at opponents. Nevertheless, it was not bad second half to make while moving my controller in gyro settings; just wanted to work on its sensitivity of adjust along the way. How's my racing time results during it though was really unexpected is 00:43.334 or 43 minutes and 334 seconds to compared on others. (January. 18th, 2020's and September. 8th, 2021's in two recordings merged) Let's just say in other words, the gyro setting I did during second half takes the top spot here by surprise. Maybe because I putting nitro boost for its speed just to catch up at opponents before reaching the finish line? Or simply put on fate to see how do well in gyro settings I've been practicing; like last time when you've see me during my past topic review post while I'm in tutorial mode. Either way, it was pretty not bad to know how I managed to get there during second half recording I gotten; after checking the racing time results changes to 43 minutes and 334 seconds.

My thoughts and a final conclusion for this topic

Just like from last month when using my YCCTEAM Controller for tutorial test, I did really well for this one when I'm in career mode racing through San Francisco. After doing two settings both manual and gyro motion was another review test to see how which would I prefer to use when I can continuing on my career mode in progress and another for hoping there's normal race mode to unlock. I had missteps along the way; including the one during second half where I was almost crashed into the building's wall until I safely landed. Nevertheless, they're both alright when I'm taking my time off to see what racing results I have in both. Unexpected for gyro motion controls having to recognized that it compared from what I did in Janaury 18th, 2020 when clearing its first challenge at 43 minutes and 366 seconds. However for manual settings like I did before that was so close to match; as it underperformed at 44 minutes and 647 seconds. Thought I could handing well like last time if needed, but guessing I've miss calculating a little. So that's means gyro motion setting won? Doesn't matter though as they're both good tests while using my YCCTEAM Controller to show; just like last month when I'm cleared through tutorial mode. However, I'll be closing this topic review to an end after long time of giving details, comparison to other of my controllers, batteries, and more I gone through so far.

🐰🖌Maxwell: Yeah. We've been waiting for after year and the half when he did his best of reviewing this alternative controller to work on his Nintendo Switch system. If I could remember, there are good ones to choose from other past posts; like when he did on Super Smash Bros match with Mario against Banjo & Kazooie.

🐰👊💥May: There's more than that, Maxwell. Like doing his button test it works alright; especially knowing fits well then previously use his Joy-Cons when it had the R button stop working and of course drifting. Hoping it won't effect his YCCTEAM Controller anytime soon.

At least rest assured when it comes to making his topic review, the YCCTEAM Controller had a good run with its battery life, the design to make as a similar Switch Pro Controller, and impressive feedback or response when playing those games in manual or gyro motion setting in Asphalt 9: Legends for example.

Thanks, Sam. I think I can give this a positive thumbs up 👍🏼 for how I using my YCCTEAM Controller to my Nintendo Switch system. Except some minor cons like when turning the rumble features on to my controller that it keep on rumbling through Super Mario Odyessy's cutscenes.

🐰🖌Maxwell: Or another one when you trying to turn on your Nintendo Switch system with your pro controller's home button, but doesn't work it right unlike your used Joy-Cons for some reason.

Yeah, that too. I'm fine to turn on my Switch system manually anyways, but would like that if the developers ever updated my controller so it can be easy to press the home button to activate my system just as easily. Someday, but not today I guess. Anyways, hope you guys and my closest friends to check out my lastest YCCTEAM Controller topic review to share and to my final conclusion after giving my thoughts about from year and half ago. I'm hoping to take it rest and continuing on other stuff like I'm promised to bring my own Super Mario 3D All-Star progress to share for example. I had too much things to get through that I nearly forgotten. Sorry if it happens. 😔

The WRLD on GCW preview

A lot of people are calling this the biggest show in GCW history. It's going down in New York City, in the legendary Hammerstein Ballroom where so many big ECW and ROH shows were held.

The show begins on Sudnay, January 23, at 8pm EST, with a free pre-show at 7. You can stream it live on Fite.tv for $24.99. Or, in a first for GCW, you can order it on traditional pay-per-view, but I don't have any idea which PPV providers are carrying it because I haven't dealt with traditional PPV in years.

Jon Moxley vs. Homicide - Moxley is defending the GCW world title. It's his second defense since winning the title on September 4, and it's also his second match since he entered inpatient alcohol rehab in November. Homicide won a 20-person battle royale on January 1 to earn this title shot.

Homicide's been around forever, working in the indies, TNA, and ROH. His biggest accolade is probably when he beat Bryan Danielson for the ROH world title in 2006. But his most high-profile appearance was a brief cameo on AEW's Grand Slam show in September 2021, where he helped Moxley and Eddie Kingston against Lance Archer and Minoru Suzuki. I can't say he's a mainstream star, but he's got that "your favorite wrestler's favorite wrestler" vibe going for him.

Every GCW match is no-disqualification in general, so I expect a wild brawl. However, it's not clear to me if the typical GCW deathmatch plunder (light tubes, doors, panes of glass, barbed wire) will be set up. If so, both guys will not be shy about using that stuff.

The real story here, though, is the return of Moxley. He looks to be in great shape and everybody's hyped to see him get back into the swing of things. Booking him in a 2000-seat building right now is like when a huge band decides to play at a little hole in the wall for fun. I was at the show where he won the GCW title in September, and the atmosphere was insane. And that was a surprise appearance--these fans are waiting for him, so it'll be an even bigger pressure cooker.

I can't imagine GCW can swing permission from AEW for Moxley to lose the title to Homicide right now. Then again, I have no idea what would make more sense--none of the AEW crossovers have gone at all like I would expect. All I know for sure is that these two guys will have fun beating the piss out of one another.

Jonathan Gresham vs. Blake Christian - Gresham is one of two men who claim to be the ROH world champion, and he's defending his version of the title here. Gresham insists that his title bouts be held under "pure rules," an ROH concept that limits rope breaks and closed-fist strikes to the face.

Christian has only been in the business for a few years, and he's spend most of them working in GCW. He briefly showed up in Impact Wrestling and NJPW Strong as well, but then WWE signed him in February 2021. Then he was Trey Baxter for a few months before WWE cut him in November. On January 15 he won a match against Bandido, the other claimant to the ROH world title, which seems to be the basis for giving him a shot at Gresham's version of the championship.

I've seen more than enough "pure rules" matches to confidently say that the rules get in the way of the actual wrestling. Everything gets reduced to strategy about when to grab the ropes instead of the action in the center of the ring. Maybe this match can prove me wrong. Regardless, I expect Gresham will keep his belt, at least until the unification match with Bandido on April 1.

Matt Cardona vs. Joey Janela - Cardona, formerly Zack Ryder in WWE, has reinvented himself here as the ultimate heel for GCW fans. Last I checked, he still claims to be the "internet champion," the "GCW universal champion," and the "ECW television champion". I doubt any of those belts are on the line. Anyway, after feuding with the likes of Nick Gage and EFFY, it was inevitable that he'd move on to another GCW icon like Janela. I wasn't sure what they were feuding over, but then Cardona got a wedding gift from Joey:

I can assure you that I studied these photos carefully and could find no Coliseum Home Video releases of Wrestlemania IV that might prove they were doctored. I can only conclude that Cardona's wife Chelsea Green was Joey's before she was Matt's.

Anyway, I expect this match to feature the usual "Cardona in GCW" hijinx. It feels like it's been ages since I've seen Janela, so I hope he brings some of his wacky shit to the table. I assume Cardona wins, although that could be to end the feud or to build heat for a rematch.

Jay Briscoe & Mark Briscoe vs. ??? & ??? - The Briscoes are defending the GCW tag team title in an open challenge. They're also the ROH tag team champions, but that title isn't at stake. We probably won't learn who the challengers will be until the match begins.

If the plan is to get the belts off the Briscoes ASAP, I would expect a pretty good surprise team, leading to a good old-fashioned brawl. Otherwise, this could be a way to put two lesser names out there to get the rub of "almost" beating a high-decorated tag team.

But I think the GCW crowd will be expecting Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler, who have been feuding with the Briscoes on Twitter and recently "invaded" the ROH show on December 11 to attack them. Fans know Briscoes vs. FTR has to happen, but it's not clear where or when. If GCW isn't delivering the match (and if they were, why wouldn't they advertise it in advance?), they'd better have something planned to avoid the disappointment.

I could definitely see an FTR run-in causing a title change. But I could just as easily see the Briscoes-FTR thing staying confined to ROH and AEW. So it's tough to call this one.

EFFY vs. Jeff Jarrett - Jeff Jarrett made his big return to the ring by...hold on, you won't see this coming...he did a sneak attack and hit Effy with a guitar shot. I should probably explain this for anyone under the age of 30. See, in the early 90s, Jeff had a country singer gimmick for a couple of years, and it sucked so he reinvented himself a lot, but for some dumb reason he never stopped using guitars as a weapon. He thinks it's like Triple H's sledgehammer.

Anyway, Effy did a good promo about how he's not getting suckered into one of these "current guy makes the returning legend look relevant" storylines, so he refused to wrestle Jeff. Then Jeff made it personal by...spoilers...doing a sneak attack and hitting Effy's friend Allie Katch with a guitar shot. And so the match is on.

I'm not sure why GCW is doing a Jeff Jarrett storyline in 2021. But since it's GCW I assume they've got something clever in mind. Personally I can't think of anything creative they could do that hasn't been done (or wouldn't be better) with Matt Cardona. But I like Effy so I guess we'll see what he can come up with.

I sure hope Effy just wins, but Jarrett couldn't even put anyone over in his own promotion, so I don't know why he'd start now.

Ruby Soho vs. Allie Katch - I don't believe there's much of a story to this except that Katch has always wanted this match, and now it's finally happening. Soho is basically the Perfect Cinnamon Roll of women's wrestling, so it seems like everyone can't wait to work with her now that she out of WWE. Katch is more like a "looks like a cinnamon roll, but could kill you," so I wouldn't count on sentiment to keep this match friendly.

I tend to think the big AEW star should get the win, but Ruby isn't all that protected in AEW to begin with. A win would mean a lot for Katch, and Soho's the kind of wrestler who would appreciate that. This is one of those matches where I just hope all the wrestlers have a good time.

Alex Colon vs. PCO vs. Tony Deppen vs. Jimmy Lloyd vs. Lio Rush vs. Jordan Oliver - This is billed as a "grab the brass ring" ladder match. So a prize (probably a literal prop of a brass ring) will be hung overhead, and ladders will be placed at ringside for the competitors to use. The only rule is that the first participant to retrieve the prize is the winner. The winner of this match will be awarded the right to the match of their choice, whenever they want it. So it's like WWE's Money in the Bank contract, except it doesn't have to be used for a title bout.

Colon is the reigning GCW ultraviolent champion (the title is not at stake in this match). Deppen, Lloyd, and Oliver are also GCW regulars. Rush is currently with AEW, but apparently not for much longer, so he's popping up more and more in smaller groups like this. PCO is arguably the biggest name here, if only because of his high-concept gimmick, and his run as ROH world champion.

I think it's interesting that the winner may not necessarily "cash in" on a champion. I don't know why you'd allow for that possibility, unless you're thinking the winner would have some specific dream match or grudge match in mind. Another possibility is that Colon gets wiped out in a big spot, and then the winner immediately cashes in on him to win the ultraviolent title. But there's just too much chaos in this match to actually pick a winner.

Bandido & Laredo Kid & ASF vs. Gringo Loco & Arez & Demonic Flamita - Not much to this, beyond booking a lucha match on the card. Bandido still claims to be the ROH world champion, rivaling Jonathan Gresham's claim. Laredo is the AAA cruiserweight champion, and also signed to Impact Wrestling. I saw ASF and Gringo in a tag team four-way back in September, but neither of them really stood out to me. Arez, the "king of strange style," did stand out as one weird dude. Flamita turned on Bandido back in ROH, and I guess they're just gonna fight forever in matches like this.

I've seen enough token lucha matches on indy shows to figure out that the point isn't who wins, so much as showing off some crazy lucha spots and giving the fans a chance to pretend like they're in Mexico and throw money in the ring. I guess I'll pick Bandido's team to win, though.

Grim Reefer vs. Ninja Mack vs. Alex Zayne vs. Dante Leon vs. Nick Wayne vs. Jack Cartwheel - This is scheduled for the pre-show. It's billed as a "Pabst Blue Ribbon Kickoff Scramble," because PBR, the RC Cola of American beers, has figured out that GCW has the trendy underground vibe that appeals to their target market, so they've been sponsoring stuff like this. In GCW a "scramble" is really no different than any multi-person match where the first participant to score a fall wins. What actually makes the match, uh, scrambly, isn't the rules so much as the style. It's usually in the undercard and features a bunch of prelim guys doing lots of flips and highspots. Again, it really makes no difference who wins these things. I'll just go with Ninja Mack since he looks like a ninja.

Pabst Blue Ribbon Kickoff Battle Royal - This is also set for the pre-show. No participants have been announced (we don't even know how many participants there will be), and we'll probably just find out when the match begins. It's the usual thing where the promotion has more wrestlers in town than there are spots on the card, so everyone who's left over gets to do a battle royal. Since the GCW roster is so fluid, though, I have no idea who could be in this thing. There's also bound to be a surprise appearance by a local legend or two. Not much point in trying to predict the outcome.

A flash of light, and you’re here.

Though you attempt to land straight on your feet, the force of your sudden movement drops you to your hands and knees, limbs meeting cold concrete. “Shit,” you curse out as pain shoots through your kneecaps and wrists at the sudden impact.

There’s a struggle to regain your stance on your feet, but once you do, you take in your environment. Despite the fact that your head is still spinning, throbbing from the sudden agitation of… whatever it was that you just did, you attempt to regain control of the situation and assess your surroundings. The room is medium sized, its walls an unsightly saffron beige and illuminated by a few dull light fixtures that hang from the ceiling. A number of desks, squished rather closely together with mountains of papers towered atop, a table in the corner with a coffee pot and some disposable cups. On the wall furthest from you, an investigation board with a motley of pictures, newspaper clippings, and more pinned to it.

You’re at the police department… but why?

A few light, careful steps take you to the collection of desks. Though you’re careful not to touch anything, your attention is suddenly caught by the gleam of light on a nearby desk. It’s not as messy as the others, the piles of documents stacked neatly at their corners. But, there’s a pile of sticky notes and crumbled up papers on one side of the desk. One sticky note reads in angry red ink: 2516. There, hidden behind a giant stack of papers, a glimmer of a silver desk plaque that shines when the light hits it:

Detective Doyoung Kim.

Doyoung Kim… your best friend since high school, who had been studying his behind off to become an accountant? No, there’s no way. It must be another Doyoung. And besides, your Doyoung is nineteen and a first-year in university.

Wait.

Your careful and feather-light movements from earlier are discarded as you suddenly push aside a stack of papers to look for a calendar. It’s a large paper one, found underneath the papers. You search the maze of X’s to find the last date crossed out. The date is… November 2, 2020.

No, no it can’t be. A gasp leaves your lips, the first sound you’ve made since arriving, then an audible slap as you press your hand to your mouth. Two minutes ago it was December 2013, and now you’re seven years in the future. For a moment you’re shell shocked, simply staring at the calendar in absolute disbelief until you realize: you’ve done it. You’ve time traveled.

But, how? And why to this time?

Suddenly you’re looking around frantically, trying to make sense of the scene before you. Why are you here? How did you get here? Why the police station of all places? Your questions are suddenly answered when a deep voice interrupts your frantic deliberations. “Who are you?”

You turn sharply to the owner of the voice, who had just entered. Doyoung.

He looks the same, but still worlds different. His jet black hair is the same, though it’s cut slightly shorter than the length he preferred in his youth. His once gentle bunny-like features are now sharp and angular, eyes darkened by maturity. Though the Doyoung you knew preferred loose jeans and plain t-shirts, future Doyoung is dressed in his full business attire—gray slacks and matching blazer atop a white button-down and a black tie.

“Doyoung,” you say, voice soft and light at the appearance of a familiar face. However aged, he’s still your best friend Doyoung.

But the expression he wears on his face is alarmed, dark eyebrows furrowed into his eyes which display surprise, and even fear. “Y/N, is that… is that you?”

“Yeah, it’s really me,” you say gently. Surely there’s a future you that he still knows well, so seeing the nineteen year old you from his past is throwing him off. But he knows that you’ve been building your time machine for years, so you tell him, “I’m sure you’ve figured out now that I’m from the past. Is it really 2020?”

After a moment of silence and continued disbelieving stares, he nods. “Okay,” you say. “I… I time traveled from the past. I did it!” You exclaim, proud that your life’s work has finally come to success. “And you said that time travel was a fantasy.”

But rather than smile, roll his eyes, or offer any kind of reaction, Doyoung continues staring, eyes wide as though he had seen a ghost. Suddenly, he rubs his eyes frantically, beginning to pace back and forth, a habit he’s clearly failed to kick in the past seven years. “Oh god,” he mutters to himself, massaging his temples. “I’m going insane.”

“Doyoung,” you call out to him, grabbing his arm to stop his pacing. The moment you touch him, however, he pulls his arm back and stares at you with frantic eyes. “It’s me, it’s really Y/N.”

“You’re not Y/N,” he suddenly says. “This must be a sick joke.”

Your eyebrows deepen into creases, your frustration growing. “What are you talking about, Doyoung? I’m right here. I know it’s hard to believe, but I really time traveled.” He doesn’t respond, only continuing to gawk at your figure. It’s then that you realize his eyes are watery. “Why are you staring at me like that?” You ask.

“Because, Y/N…” He starts, voice shaking. “You disappeared seven years ago.”

Oh No, Not Another Rey Mysterio Deserves Better Rant!

Probably what you're thinking but considering how my last one was January it was pretty alarming.

Spoilers for MITB 2021

So despite a good match, the Mysterios lost the titles they only really defended against the Usos at about 2 months, and it annoyed me. Which is unsurprising but also commonplace in a PPV that squashed Kofi in another World Title match, saw Charlotte beat Rhea again (storytelling bloating and sucking all investment of Rhea getting her win back so that Flair could win a 14th title) and saw Nikki ASH win MITB despite being the sillier character and probably the least popular babyface in a pile of Asuka, Naomi and Liv.

It was practically a similar finish to SD's 6-man tag with the Usos cheating and frankly I don't see why it happened. Usos as a tag team are great for sure but now who do they face? The wealth of babyface teams like...oh that's right there are none on SD. Sure the image of the Bloodline in gold is a visual - though one that feels like a Xerox of another company's big time world champion and heel brothers tag champions - but what does it serve in the now? The Usos will face nobody or just rematch with the Mysterios again as side characters, and Rey Mysterio should not be a side character.

Leading into the crux of my point. Rey Mysterio has been working in the business since he was 14, in 1989. His career spans across 5 decades and he's still going, not just part time going he is still going on a regular basis. Even when he wasn't in WWE he didn't stop, he went to the indies, to AAA, to Lucha Underground (people talking about him vs Ricochet like they didn't put on a banger at Ultima Lucha), to All In, to even NJPW. Legends of the business and highly respected wrestlers have praised Rey on countless times and yet he's in this spot where he's WWE's pin cushion, taking losses and being flattened by Otis or ragdolled by Roman for cheap heat.

A 2 month tag reign with his son and a Universal title match only looks good on paper but considering that over the last year Rey has in kayfabe been thrown off a building, had his eye ripped out, watched his son be beaten up by whoever looks at him funny because they know Rey's pledge of vengeance doesn't actually come back round to them and then spent a lot of the time taking pins and losing clean on consecutive weeks to Corbin, and it doesn't look so great. Even his tag reign was merely a tool for Roman's story, and when we had a small chance of establishing a big-name feud between Rey and Roman we didn't even give them time to build, in fact they made their tiny build even shorter because they didn't let them do it on the freaking PPV, and then after all that they made him tap out - because vengeance means nothing - in what was up till then a great HIAC match, before Rey and his son again played understudy and then ends up being pinned and losing the tag belts to the brother who was done for another DUI, but goes unpunished because WWE's 'plan' exceeds health and safety.

At this point I do have to wonder what Rey has to do to warrant the same respect others that came at the same time as him did. I mean, Edge and Cena are great wrestlers but why do they get the instant world title shot and months of build? They show up for a few weeks after sitting pretty at home for months or in Lesnar and Goldberg's case years while Rey is wrestling week by week putting other guys over? And when he gets his turn it's just filler, that objectively feels backwards. What, does Rey have to be a part timer just to get some brain cells put into his booking? If he wasn't doing his damnedest to give his son the best training and support he can he could be in another company tearing it up on a higher level, and it hurts that people seriously take him for granted.

I mean he's 46, he's older than AJ, older than Jeff, older than Cena, older than Brock and he's still moving like that. Even with all the damage the job has done on his knees as well, and he still has the fans' hearts, imagine being this consistently over and not thinking that he's a legend? Someone worth using higher up on the card. The tag reign would've been good if they had a longer run at it and some more valid opponents but WWE don't really give two shits about tag teams anymore, so the Smackdown Six member gets scraps while all his 6 foot buddies get big money programs.

It just, infuriates me you know? We don't know how much longer it'll be until Rey hangs up his mask, have we considered what wrestling would be without him? Some of the most athletic talent in the world man and woman have Rey's career to thank for inspiring them, for breaking the barriers to allow them to reach the coveted brass ring. It feels like Rey could be doing a lot more in his late career, I mean there is so much he could be doing right now, granted he could still go into his 50s like Jericho, Big Show, Mark Henry, Dustin Rhodes, Liger etc. did but you never know.

WWE, of all the things you've been messing up on as of recent - and there are a lot - your creative laziness towards Rey is extremely damning and wasteful, the man is an icon, treat him as such.

1/2 I’m so glad you’re answering asks again! I really value your opinion when it comes to taekook. I’ve noticed many of the recent asks seem a little skeptical, which I don’t understand. I just keep thinking back to the 2020 Grammys. It wasn’t an accident that they wore matching outfits to such a huge event, posed as a couple on the red carpet when the other members started to move ahead, wore rings on their left hands, etc. Is it just me or was this a really big deal?

Kayla: well said anon and I totally agree 😭honestly by the end of the week after episode 6 of IST released, I was so drained and angry at how people were reacting. I don’t know why people fixated on it over all the other events leading up to that, other than I truly feel people actively seek negativity when it comes to TK. So many people, even after I break down my stance on BV4, tattoo girl and 2019 overall, still refuse to see how TK acted around all of that. I don’t mind if people disagree but how do you see all the events surrounding that month break, and clearly see no underlying tension or drama, yet find an issue? I don’t get it.

Part of me thinks there’s a few issues here, one of which is some people have short term memory in this fandom. Grammys 2020 was AMAZING and I’m with you - it was bold, loud and a statement. Jk broke the lineup to stand by Tae. They wore rings on their left ring finger while wearing similar matching outfits. They were affectionate to the point non listeners asked if they were dating. That said everything about who Tae and Jk are to each other. It was, in my mind, very intentional of them, at a very large scale, international event which they knew a lot of people would view. But that was January and IST came in Sept so people focus on that. They take it as “real time” and forget what came before. Time moves forward, but they tend to void out sweet moments for the content that is out “today”.

It also doesn’t help that this show was marketed as a relaxed vacation for BTS, a natural setting. People took this conversation at face value without factoring this is a closeted couple who were - generally but not always - restricted in official content leading up to this and the new contracts taking effect. And some didn’t bother questioning how odd it was this deep talk took place on camera, nor the fact we didn’t learn anything new. In reality, this moment was sweet. Tae was clearly nervous but excited. Jimin, their loving, best friend, played along with Tae in acting a skit to get Jk to the tent. They had a very sweet talk with Jk reminiscing about old times. Unfortunately I’ve noticed people have a tendency to focus on the bad and think it defines an entire relationship. They took the negative subtext, which Jk didn’t say, and took his comment “a SIDE” became awkward and ran with it. They didn’t use critical thinking to really consider setting - a public televised moment - or the fact this is a closeted couple, or that Tae had hard times that probably did impact his moods and how those around him reacted.

As for the “focusing on” I think this is something that is always going to be prevalent with taekook until they say something concrete because every single time Jungkook and Tae do something there are a million people standing behind them with all these excuses of “oh tae does this with everyone” “jungkook hates tae” “tae doesn’t like jungkook” “jungkook touches/stares at everyone too” “you’re making them uncomfortable” etc. I think people just want to focus on the negative because they either can’t or choose not believe at the very basic nature of this entire pairing that Tae and Jungkook are friends (for whatever reason, and I’m not talking about the people who don’t like ‘shipping’ but are fine with others doing what they want, I’m talking about those who actively attack people who are peacefully just reposting moments or enjoying themselves on a FREE platform and not spreading any actual malice). Honestly, in my opinion this is no longer even a couple thing, people can’t stand the idea of Tae and Jungkook even being friends. When that rumour came out that Tae and Jungkook went shopping, not only did someone feel the urge to create a false rumour to show how quickly ‘taekookers believe lies’ but also there were like 10001 people coming into the comments to discredit this woman... I mean for what? Are the members not allowed to go shopping with each other anymore? I fail to see the big deal with this.

At the heart of this matter is that people in this fandom are okay with all the members just being FRIENDS but not taekook. Regardless of whether they see romantic connotations in their actions, people can’t seem to even fathom the possibility that two individuals that have been in a group for 7 years, who became friends during debut and were considered the closest—would even be friends today. That’s actually what’s the saddest and most transparent issue within this fandom. Now people can say what they like but I’ve seen tons of experiments and things that have shown this issue to be fairly black and white. As for the SOOP conversation from episode 6, i think Jk made it pretty clear at the GDA 2021 what he meant—I saw that as a clear statement to how he sees Tae and what Tae means to him—I saw people who were dissecting his words and pulling up naver dictionary which is a whole other issue but the fact of the matter is they directly engaged with that episode “Taehyung hyung and I have been friends since debut, we were very close” “what are we not close anymore” *laughs* “no that’s not what i meant, since then you’ve become even more reliable and dependable, so keep working hard and stay healthy lets do something together soon with everyone when it's safer” [I can’t remember if he said everyone, e.g. 여러분 or a variation, I’d have to rewatch it]. Taehyung point blank asked him “what? are we not close anymore?” and Jk said no and reaffirmed they have always been close, despite what people tried to say after Ep 6.

I just find it interesting how everyone was so quick to take Jk for his word and tell us to “stop twisting his words” during that entire SOOP ordeal, yet when Jungkook makes a statement like this at the GDA people are so fast to start going “oh he said gentleman, that means they don’t really like each other and he’s being nice” “did he hesitate? I feel like he hesitated?” “Jungkook looks like he doesn’t want to be there” “taehyung didn’t even pay attention to his message, he asked him about his hair”.

I think that really says it all about how people treat taekook.

I also want to make a point on where some of the hate derives from. My personal opinion is that the hate or friend narrative is largely driven by Bh. They were the ones who separated them starting in 2017 , which gave fans all the freedom to fill in the blanks as to what happened. Being two of the most popular members of the biggest band in the world, this allowed fans who largely ignore ships to see them as rivals even. In official content, there was never any chance that Bh let them think differently. Don’t even get me started on BH because after episode 6 I really stepped back and evaluated how much BH supports. And I’m really confused by the company right now.

I hope I’ve answered this thoroughly and my apologies it’s so long! Ultimately I think there’s a lot of factors at play: BH separating TK in official content a lot of times in the old contract let people create stories; a lot in this fandom seems to actively look for drama or negativity with TK; people take official content as real time events; they don’t factor in IST being televised, how we didn’t learn anything substantive or new, and twisted words to suit a story; short term memory (Grammys was Jan, IST was Sept).

Finally, thanks for being patient with asks. That’s so sweet to read you’re happy I’m answering them again🥰 There's close to 110 in the inbox 😭I’m going to try my best to answer a couple a week at the least. But the inbox does get me anxious, and it can be draining with the negative asks. Between work, my personal life and the timeline itself, which take priority, I’ll do my best but I appreciate the understanding it takes time to get to questions, and it doesn’t help I’m very nervous people can misconstrue what I say, so I take a while to draft thoughts.

Hamilton (2020)

I know Hamilton already has fans but until I saw this live recording of the 2015 musical, I wasn’t among them. Now, I see what the big deal is. While no film can quite capture the energy of a live performance, this presentation gives you a view and an experience no box-office seat could match. Packed with terrific songs, excellent performances, and impressive visuals, you’ll want to watch it over and over.

In 1776, 19-year-old Alexander Hamilton (Lin-Manuel Miranda) arrives in New York City. There, he quickly makes a name for himself despite his empty pockets and lowly status as an orphaned immigrant from the Caribbean. His wit and unquenchable desire for more leads him to greatness and setup his downfall. The film - divided into two acts - follows his career as the aide-de-camp to General George Washington (Christopher Jackson), the first Secretary of the Treasury, his marriage to Eliza Schuyler (Phillipa Soo), personal tragedies, and his eventual death.

At 160 minutes, Hamilton can seem intimidating but don't worry. It includes a handy-dandy intermission during which you can stretch your legs. Theoretically, you could also stop it there and resume play at a later time. I doubt you'll want to. Once Hamilton gets going, you don’t want it to stop. This movie is no ordinary history lesson. Packed with wall-to-wall songs inspired by modern genres like hip hop, R&B, pop, and soul, the plot moves quickly through eras and events you’re familiar with (even if all you have is a rudimentary knowledge of American history) while revealing "new" events. Many of the lyrics come in so fast you’ll struggle to keep up but the performances fill in the gaps. You can always tell who’s who, what’s going on, and most importantly, what it means to Alexander Hamilton. He’s the focus of the story, a complicated person we’ve not had the chance to meet until now.

Another modern aspect is the cast. Normally I’d raise an eyebrow at the willy-nilly swapping of real-life people’s races - it'd be doubly uncomfortable considering we see extremely racist real-life people morphed into something they weren't… that rule doesn’t apply here. This is a movie and a play too, and plays exist in a different kind of reality. A staircase from which King George III (Jonathan Groff) descends is a symbol of much more. A couple of chairs transports us from a port to a bar. An actor playing double roles is just an opportunity to see them again. You won’t have to use your imagination as much as you’re used to, however. This is a first-rate production brilliantly directed by Thomas Kail. There are many interesting and novel choices made throughout, more than enough to make you overlook the few points where the camera could’ve been slightly better positioned. There are few edits and when they are used, they pack a punch.

Even without the marvelous cast, Hamilton would be a sight to behold. The performers’ arresting voices and the songs elevates this to a level that may have some people thinking they needn’t bother with a live performance. Or maybe they’ll see this as a way to watch and re-watch the show enough times to memorize all of the tunes - there’s no way you could pick just one favorite. When you see the cast of Hamilton bow, the o-screen audience won’t be the only one getting up to cheer. (January 16, 2021)

2020 Jenna Coleman’s Year in Review, part 1: Summary

Over the next few days, I will be reviewing the past year in regards to Jenna Coleman.

At first, I will provide a summary of the year overall, before going into more detail in the coming days.

As far as I can judge from my perspective, this has been a terrible year for Jenna in numerous ways. A lot of the reasons that made this year so rotten are due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but not all of them are. I’m sorry, but this review will be rather negative. But fear not, even though the last year has not gone well at all for Jenna, 2021 looks like it might be a fantastic year for her.

She did less acting work in 2020 than she had ever done in at least the last 10 years. She filmed The Serpent for a total of 5 weeks, did a virtual play (with only a few days’ preparation), and recorded some readings. But for almost all of this year, Jenna didn’t do any acting work at all. As far as I can tell, this has been the only year of her entire acting career in which she wasn’t officially announced to have been cast in a new role in film or television, or to continue playing a role she already played, in the next year.

The only published show or film this year that Jenna made an appearance in, was Death Be Not Proud, (Inside No 9 series 5 episode 2). Her screentime there amounted to about 10 minutes. Only in 2010 and 2011 did she have an even shorter total screentime than she did this year. And in all other years since 2005, her screentime was far more than it was this year. Obviously this is predominantly due to the pandemic, which prevented The Serpent from being aired many months ago. But it is still painful, as the last time Jenna had any major appearance on TV or film, was almost 2 years ago, in Victoria series 3.

As a consequence of that, Jenna did not get any awards, and was not even nominated for any award this year. This has been the first year since 2016 in which she didn’t at least win one award.

Tabloids, newspapers, and magazines have been exceptionally vicious to her this year. The Sun invented rumours of an alleged breakup with Tom Hughes, without any evidence, and this has since been accepted to be true by far too many people and other media. Over the months, the evidence has piled up to show that they didn’t break up at all. They are still living together, and a close friend said that they didn’t split. In contrast, there is still no evidence at all to support the lies told by The Sun.

The Daily Mail stalked her very frequently, about 4 times as often as in previous years. They even seemingly sent paparazzi right to her doorstep, to just wait there for her to arrive or leave, as several sets of paparazzi pictures were taken right in front of her and Tom’s house. And then in October, the Daily Mail published incredibly intrusive pictures of her and Tom’s house on their front page, after they put it up for sale. Both Jenna and Tom are both very keen on keeping their private lives private, and have gone to considerable effort to keep it that way. So the publishing of these pictures by the Daily Mail must have been a nightmare come true for them. Eventually, they managed to convince the Daily Mail to delete their article, and no longer had their house up for sale, to avoid their personal pictures from being spread even more widely.

Even supposedly high quality newspapers and magazines asked her incredibly intrusive and disrepectful questions, seemingly caring more about manipulating her to reveal details of her private life, than to ask her about her acting roles.

2020 has been the year in which Jenna has made by far the fewest Instagram posts ever, since she first joined the platform. Whereas in 2016 she made 181 posts, this year she just made 27. One of the reasons for this, is that she has been more active on Instagram stories. Unfortunately, those have a far smaller reach than Instagram posts, and disappear forever after 24 hours, so simply can’t match Instagram posts. Most of her posts were pictures or videos from other people that had already been shared previously. Only a very small number of those featured pictures or videos that had not already been known to fans of Jenna.

As a consequence of all of the above, Jenna ended up losing lots of followers this year. She reached 900k followers on Instagram in November 2019, and that number slowly climbed to almost 909k followers by summer 2020. But over the course of the last few months, Jenna’s number of followers dropped down to 899k.

Also on Twitter, where she remarkably still has an account, even though she hardly ever uses it, she was even less active than in previous years. Throughout this year, the Doctor Who fanbase has participated in several watchalongs of particular episodes, and the writers and actors involved in those episodes often took part as well, sharing insights and stories about how the episode(s) came to be. Jenna was one of only 3 main Doctor Who actors, who didn’t take part in any of the numerous watchalongs of her episodes, even though she has a Twitter account, even though there were more watchalongs of her episodes, than of most other actors’ episodes.

Obviously, Jenna made next to no public appearances this year; only one in January. But previous to that, Jenna was busy filming The Serpent in Thailand, so the second to last public appearance she attended was in July 2019. So it has been a very long time since Jenna last had semi-regular public appearances.

Due to a lack of new projects, Jenna also had fewer photoshoots, and until December, no radio or TV interview whatsoever. It has been 19 months between her TV and radio interviews for The Serpent, and the last ones she had before that.

But there is light at the end of the tunnel; even though 2020 was a a very bad year for Jenna, 2021 looks to be a great year for her. With promotion for The Serpent underway (too late in my opinion, but still), December has been markedly different to the rest of the year. Jenna has been slightly more active online, appeared in three radio interviews (one of which was recorded), one TV interview, made several interviews for the media in general, and had a photoshoot and interview for The Times. The Serpent will kick off 2021 to a great start, and even though it will only be available in the UK for the first momth(s) of 2021, Netflix will release it worldwide as well.

After the constant drop in the number of followers that Jenna has on Instagram and Twitter since summer 2020, things are finally improving again. Probably due to promotion for The Serpent, Jenna has reached 900k followers again, gaining almost several hundred new followers in the last week.

And then of course there is Jenna’s secret new big-budget fantasy project for 2021. My best guess for what it could be is Death in Neil Gaiman’s The Sandman series on Netflix, but we will have to see.

January 28, 2021: The Fugitive (1993) (Part 1)

Ahem. A reading.

Objectively, there’s only one good movie, and it’s The Fugitive. The Fugitive is the only good movie. Now, if you think I’m capricious, know that I have had this feeling before about other things - I remember when I first read Island of the Blue Dolphins, I was like, “Shut it down, no need to write more book.” Ditto with “The Sign” by Ace of Base - but those feelings didn’t last because eventually I heard “Poison” by Bell Biv DeVoe and read a little story wou might have hear of called THE BIBLE? But when t comes to The Fugitive, I have never wavered. The Fugitive is the only good movie.

That was the first paragraph of the first essay of Lindy West’s book, Shit, Actually, the book that, you may recall if you’ve been here from the beginning, started on this exciting, over-ambitiously dumb project of mine. And, no...I have never seen The Fugitive. I didn’t even finish this essay, because I knew I’d wanted to watch this movie for a bit. So, what better way to finish this action-packed journey, than to watch this film?

Harrison Ford and Tommy Lee Jones, two of modern Hollywood’s most legendary curmudgeons, in a movie together! I am excited. I love both of these guys, and this movie is a major hallmark in their careers. It was nominated for 7 Academy Awards, with Jones WINNING for Best Supporting Actor, and is called one of the greatest action films of all time, especially for the decade. AND, it’s based on a television series from the 1960s, just like another entry in this month, Mission: Impossible! Look, I’m excited, so let’s do this, huh?

Gonna find out if Lindy West was right. SPOILERS AHEAD!!!

Recap

As the credits roll, and views of Chicago flash by us, a murder is also taking place. A woman struggles with an unseen assailant, until eventually being shot. The woman is Helen Kimble (Sela Ward), and her newly-bereaved husband is Dr. Richard Kimble (Harrison Ford), a respected vascular surgeon in the area. As he’s taken to the police station, he flashes back to the last time they were together: a fundraising benefit.

The two seem like a very happy couple, and drive home as Richard is called in to perform an emergency surgery. As he remembers that night, the police question him on the fight and struggle. Apparently, Kimble was there and fought with a one-armed man with a prosthetic arm. And as he answers various probing questions, two things become overly clear: that the cops suspect Kimble of killing his wife, and also that these are really shitty cops.

I don’t know what it is with movie cops, but they’re always absolutely the worst during questioning. Not that it matters, because Kimble would appear to be the only suspect. At the trial, a tape is played that seems to directly implicate Kimble...I guess. Kimble, as a result, is...like, IMMEDIATELY sent to the chair! WOW. That’s...that’s a little extreme there, your honor, don’t you think? Dear God.

Now going to jail, Kimball’s put on a prison bus with other prisoners However, those other prisoners don’t want to stay that way, and orchestrate a breakout on the bus, leading to a crash. One of the guards is injured, and another card asks Kimball to help, and hands him the keys to his handcuffs at his request. However, there isn’t enough time to save him, as the bus has landed in an...inopportune location

Lot of damaged property today. Not a good day for the state of Illinois, I tell you what. Kimble and another prisoner make it out, and flee the scene quick-as-they-can. Arriving soon after them is Deputy U.S. Marshall Samuel Gerard (Tommy Lee Jones). There, one of the guards (who ran away and abandoned his partner) is claiming to have saved his partner, when Kimball’s the one who pulled him out of the bus. He also claims that all of the passengers, Kimball included, are dead.

Although the sheriff is inclined to believe this story, Gerard is less inclined to do so, and takes over the investigation. He basically almost immediately finds out that the guard is lying, and the guard recants his story. Gerard then makes the following speech:

Iconic. Absolutely iconic.

Kimble’s on the run, and skillfully makes his way into a hospital. He treats his wounds from the crash, then shaves his beard and changes his clothes. He passes by a cop who’s SPECIFICALLY LOOKING FOR HIM, and the cop doesn’t even slightly recognize him, even though his dialogue points out that he fits LITERALLY EVERY PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION, except for the beard.

Wow. Cops are NOT smart in this movie, huh? Gerard and his coworkers, Cosmo Renfro (Joe Pantoliano), Erin Poole (L. Scott Caldwell), Robert Biggs (Daniel Roebuck), and Noah Newman (Tom Wood) go over Kimball’s file, and discover that the injured guard recognized him at the hospital. Kimball’s also stolen an ambulance, resulting in a chase between Kimball in the ambulance, and the Marshals in a helicopter. He finds himself trapped in a tunnel.

Somehow, he manages to weasel his way out, escaping from right under their noses into a storm drain. They chase him into the tunnel, with Gerard following in the lead. However, Kimble, who’s armed, manages to get the drop on Gerard, grabs his gun, and the following exchange takes place.

ICONIC ONCE MORE.

Kimble runs, and Gerard chases him to the top of a spillover above a dam, AND THAT MOTHER FUCKER JUMPS

GUY DID A PETER PAN RIGHT OFF OF THE DAM (to quote Gerard). AWESOME.

Gerard ain’t playin’ around, despite the likelihood of Kimble’s death. He gets them to turn off the damn dam water, and to get a team to search for Kimble’s body. Which is gonna be hard, because HE SURVIVED THAT MASSIVE ASS FALL. SICK.

But he understandably collapses a few minutes later, after climbing onto shore. In his sleep, he dreams of Helen. Said dream seamlessly transitions from peacefully romantic bliss to the night of the murder, and Kimble’s struggle with the mysterious one-armed man.

The Marshals, in the meantime, find Kimble’s fellow prisoner, and Gerard takes him out without a second word. When questioned by a fellow officer why he didn’t bargain with the guy, he simply says, “I. Don’t. Bargain.” Tough man. But I like him? Whaaaaaat?

Kimble wakes up and hitches a ride back into Chicago, on a mission to search for the one-armed man. He calls his lawyer, Walter Gutherie (Dick Cusack), who tells him to turn himself in. He refuses, and tells Walter that he’s in St. Louis. Doesn’t fool the Marshals, though, who’ve procured a recording of the call (probably by bugging Walter). They recognize from the background that the call is coming from Chicago.

In Chicago, Richard gets in contact with another friend, Dr. Charlie Nichols (Jeroen Krabbé), who provides him with some money, allowing him to get a temporary place to stay. Kimble, meanwhile, gets in contact with the stupid...STUPID cops from the interrogation scene, and they inform the rest of the department of Kimble’s escape.

Kimble isn’t acting overly intelligent himself, as he goes RIGHT BACK to his old hospital to go to the prosthetics lab, to try and discern the type of prosthetic, as well as the source. The Marshals head there, too, to speak with Charlie. While he admits that he saw Kimble that morning, he doesn’t have any other information to give him. They go around interviewing everybody at the hospital who knew him, including...Jane Lynch?

...Huh. Neat! Anyway, they investigate Kimble, and Kimble takes up an identity as a hospital worker, teaching himself about prosthetics all the while. But one day, as he’s sleeping, the police raid the apartment that he’s staying in, as her son is a drug dealer. A narrow escape for an anxious Kimble.

Having now remembered what the prosthetic looked like, he poses as a janitor and makes his way into the prosthetics lab. On the computer, he searches for the model of prosthetic arm. He finds 5 matching records for prosthetic limbs.

But Chicago is busy tonight. While the landlady’s son is spilling the beans on Kimble to the cops, a bus crash has happened, sending several young kids into the hospital as Kimble’s about to leave. And one boy appears to be in a lot of trouble. The doctor in charge, Anne Eastman (Julianne Moore), asks Kimble to take him to a waiting room, believing that the boy is stable. They’ve written the boy off as stable, but Kimble, being a brilliant doctor, knows that something seems wrong. Covertly, he fills out a chart, then saves his life by getting him to surgery.

Eastman figures out that Kimble’s saved his life, and figures out exactly who he is. On her way to report him, he escapes the hospital just as the Marshals arrive.
