IDK if there is any kind of canon for this yet but:
I think the Hazbin Hotel/Helluva Boss circle of Sloth is run by a woman who rarely if ever featured on screen out of her bed and is incredibly scientifically minded. As in she is the one who (and is in charge of who) comes up with various technologies, chemicals, etc for the purposes of efficiency so she can go back to sleep. She delegates to others in her circle for maximum efficiency, so it boils down to people who work stupidly hard but are also incredibly focused on schedules in order to maximize their lethargy. Because they are so efficient they take ridiculous amounts of time off to be sloth like - which amounts to doing whatever they want. The Overlord happens to like sleeping and moving as little as possible.
In my head she is introduced by Azzie calling in a favour to help with the whole 'lust in love' thing and she responds with publicizing multiple studies already completed that the most efficient and easiest accomplished form of lust is based and born out of loving relationships.
The next most powerful is hate-fucking but that requires far more intense short term emotional investment and is thus far less efficient, especially when recovery is taken into consideration.
So she goes on a talk show or something (live from her bed), says as much, comments that it is more in line for hell to have a flagrantly adorable relationship that would confuse and likely bewilder heaven, then just drops the phone or whatever, not even bothering to hang up properly.
I picture her not in a glamorous sensual form but all pjs and soft shirts, stuff you see college students sleeping in. Very much 'I have been up for 3 days studying for this final' vibes despite her regularly getting 14+ hours of sleep/day at least.

MC and The Familiars (But the Familiars Aren’t Actually Familiars)
So I 100% subscribe to the idea that the brothers can turn into their signature animal, but what if they tried to be slick about it?
Lucifer
Alright, all he had to do was visit MC in the human world, no big deal. Just a visit to his favourite human’s home… he’s the Avatar of Pride, Lucifer’s totally got this and isn’t nervous at all.
He poofs himself into their living room and… wait wasn’t knocking on the front door more polite? Agh, that doesn’t matter. Everything was still totally fine, he could hear MC shuffling around in the other room, he just needed to get outside and knock on the front door.
No problem- OH FUCK MC JUST WALKED IN DO SOMETHING-
*poof*
“…Lucifer?” MC was clearly not fooled by Lucifer’s new bird-y form… father dammit.
Okay, he couldn’t be suave and kabedon the human in this form… quick seduce them in another way!
Maybe fanning out his feathers inside wasn’t a good idea, he knocked a couple of things off the coffee table but at least he was fabulous.
MC just raises their eyebrows and rolls their eyes. “Okay, you’re very pretty Lucifer. Happy?”
Lucifer gets some gentle head rubs, ah, this was nice…
He poofs back into his human form and dips MC. Smooth as butter. “Well, it seems you’ve found me out, MC. I’ll just have to take you out on a date as a reward.”
MC giggles and Lucifer just revels in how amazing and clever he is- until MC looks over at the floor.
“You knocked my drink off the coffee table.” “Oh… would you like to go on a date after I clean that for you..?”
Mammon
UGGGGGGGGGGGH MAMMON’S HUMAN WASN’T PAYING ATTENTION TO HIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIM!
MC wasn’t adhering to the very clear “shower Mammon with love and affection” event on their calendar. The event was every day but like- who cares! Mammon had to find out where his human was right that moment and figure out why they weren’t giving him cuddles!
Mammon turned into his crow form and flew right out of the house. Where was that stupid human he loved so dearly? Oh! There they are! Feeding his crows! Awwwwwwwwwww so cute!
Crow-Mammon fluttered down and perched himself next to MC, who was immediately delighted.
“Oh hello there little friend!” MC gently picked Mammon up. “I love your feathers! Aren’t you adorable?”
If crows could blush, Mammon would be bright red. It was all great until his crows started imitating his voice in an attempt to blow his cover!
“Oh that’s right! Mammon would totally adore you!” Wait what?
MC proceeded to rush around the HOL asking all the brothers if they had seen Mammon. Crap… now crow-mammon needed a way to transform back into sexy regular Mammon without alerting his human!
…maybe that could wait a bit… being carried around by MC wasn’t so bad…
Leviathan
Let’s get one thing straight, okay? Levi is a sea snek! A cute little danger noodle! He doesn’t exactly think he’s cute but we know the truth.
He was just swimming around his and Henry 2.0’s gigantic aquarium when MC just barged in without knocking! What kinda normie BULLSHIT-
“Levi? Leviiiiiiiii?” Aw, the human missed him… Levi debated changing back but then decided against it… MC would probably despise him if they found out he wasn’t only a yucky otaku… he was a gross slimy snake too!
MC continued to look around the room while Levi hid in some of his aquarium props. Hiding in his underwater replica of the Lord of Shadows’ castle wasn’t exactly comfortable but it allowed Levi to at least see what MC was doing.
MC suddenly pressed their face against the glass of the aquarium and waved Henry 2.0 over.
“Hey little buddy, do you know where Levi is?”
GAH! 100 DAMAGE! CRITICAL HIT! LEVI HAS FAINTED! TOO MOE! His cute little goldfish and his cute little MC! AAAAAAAAA- oh shit he just transformed back into his normal form-
“Oh! There you are Levi!” MC waved from the other side of the glass. “Come out! Let’s watch anime!”
Satan
He’s not turning into a unicorn. Sorry not sorry.
As cool and terrifying as unicorns are in the Devildom, those stupid human legends ruined their reputations as feared companions to demons.
Whatever, Satan had invited MC over to his room for some 100% family friendly snuggling. He opened up a book and-
Wait why’d he have hooves now..? OH SON OF A BITCH!
The stupid book turned him into his familiar form! He couldn’t change back! Ugh… he needed to calm down, his mane was made of fire and he was in a very flammable environment… the last thing Satan wanted was to burn his books and MC. Wait MC-
“Satan? Is that you?” “…”
Well, at least Satan got some nose scritches… even though unicorns were absolutely terrifying, MC didn’t seem to mind. Though, they burned their fingertips a bit…
Okay… maybe getting pets in his demon form wasn’t all bad…
Asmodeus
Oh MC’s skin was a disaster! Asmo had to do something! All those late night anime binges with Levi were awful, just awful!
MC could be having all night Asmo time but noooooo apparently Princess Tutu was way more fun…
Ah well, time to entice MC into taking care of their skin~
Asmo turned into his adorable little scorpion form and scuttled off to MC’s room. He hopped up on their sink and nudged some lotion towards a very confused MC.
“…what?” “*scuttle scuttle*” “Oh, hi Asmo.”
MC graciously allowed Asmo to guide their bleary eyed self through their morning routine. Being small really helped, it allowed Asmo to get into the very back of the bathroom cabinet, where he found- GASP! MC! IS THAT THE HANDCREAM ASMO HAD GIFTED THEM?!
“*angy scuttles*” “What? I didn’t like the smell.”
The highlight of the morning was when MC picked Asmo up and gave him a hug. :3
Beelzebub
Food… *SNIIIIIIIIIIIIIFF* must consume. It’s coming from behind a locked door- HE NEEDS TO EAT.
Beel transformed and slipped through the crack underneath the door. Hell yeah! Food!
MC was eating takeout, and didn’t invite him… :( oh well, he could eat with them as a fly :)
He leisurely floated down to the food and started nomming.
“Shoo!” MC swatted Beel away. Oh no D: MC whyyyy?
Beel kept flying back, and getting shooed away, it was quite the viscous cycle, well, it was until MC caught Beel under a cup.
Quick! Transform back!
“…Beel. What?” “I’m hungry :(.”
MC just handed him some of their food and went back to eating. Same shit as always…
Belphegor
Moooooooooooooooooooooooo-
Okay, Belphie knew it was comfortable to sleep as a cow when he didn’t have a blanket, he was floofy as a cow! Being floofy is comfortable!
“MCCCCCCCCCCCC. Come snuggle!”
Gasp! MC give cuddles! MC give cuddles and pets to sleepy cow brat!
Belphie likes getting pet behind the ears, THATS the spot… yeah… *content cow sigh*
Side note, cows have very nice eyelashes, Belphie must have nice eyelashes too.
Just snoozing and cuddling… this is how life should be…
The whole gang eventually just ends up napping near or on Belphie, it’s very relaxing. Crow-Mammon on his head, Fly-Beel between his eyes, Snek Levi all curled up on his back, Scorpion Asmo behind his ears, and Lucifer and Satan leaned up next to MC.
They should do this more often…

SUMMARY: Toga’s been having a rough day,and who else could make it all better than his mate and pup?
The hallway was silent save for the clacking of heeled boots. They echoed off the windows, muffled only slightly by the tapestries that hung along the walls. The servants knew better than to be found in the path of the angered general; by now, they had a foolproof system that warned anyone in the area to steer clear. Not that many servants could be found in this area of the castle. Toga only trusted a handful of servants to work in the areas around his mates abode.
Toga balled his fisted hands even tighter, tiny droplets of blood dotting the floor as he pressed on. He was close to losing his control, and all he wanted was to bask in the warmth and love of his mate and pup.
Once again, he was forced to listen to the vitriol from another courtier about how Toga was "defiling the very nature of our people" by taking a human mate and siring a "half breed". Toga wasn't sure how many courtiers he had to threaten to get them to back off, but so far the number was rising with no end in sight.
Toga let out a deep, throaty growl at the thought of their hatred towards his mate and pup. Did they forget who he was? Toga was Lord of the Western lands, the great dog demon general. He had the power to slay a hundred demons in one fell swoop. He held life and death in each of his hands. Who were they to condemn him for his choice of mate?
It wasn't as if mating with Izayoi had been much of a choice for him anyway. Toga had known the moment he had laid eyes on Izayoi that they were meant for each other. She smelled like a field of flowers basking in the sun on a warm spring day, and it called to the youkai in him. When he was angry or upset, only her soothing touch could calm him. She always knew the right things to say, or even when she didn't need to say anything at all. She was beautiful and graceful - learnt from being born a princess - yet determined and outspoken in ways a princess should never be. She was a woman unlike Toga had ever seen, and she was irrevocably his.
'When did this hallway become so long?' Toga was growing more and more impatient with how long it was taking him to reach her, and began sprinting the rest of the way down the hall. He finally made it to the door at the end of the hallway to enter a small courtyard. It was smaller than the courtyard that was tended to by Inukimi's servants, but it was an exceedingly beautiful space. It was like stepping into another world, vibrant hues of an abundance of all different kinds of flowers intermingling with the evergreen foliage, giving off a wonderful floral scent to the air, even for Toga's more sensitive nose. Placed sporadically around the courtyard to take advantage of the exquisite views were several benches to sit at. Toga barely gave the courtyard a second glance as he continued to sprint to the other side. His destination was a well kept fence marked by a set of tall, immaculately kept rose bushes.
It wasn't ideal to house Izayoi so far from the rest of the castle, but ever since the birth of their son, Inuyasha, Toga had become paranoid at the thought of someone sneaking into her room for any number of unsavory activities. Toga had his best and most trusted men keep an eye on the area, and he could easily sniff out if anyone had been around who shouldn't have been - a task that had been much more difficult in the middle of a bustling castle. Toga would do whatever it took to keep Izayoi safe; he had already used Tenseiga on her once, so he could not depend on its help again. He had almost lost her and their unborn pup almost a year ago because of that snake of a human, Takemaru, not to mention his own life as well.
Beyond the rose guarded fence was a well kept trail that led to a decently sized building. It was nestled beside a looming cherry blossom tree, and one could see the edges of a koi pond in the back. It was far smaller than any of the living quarters that Izayoi was used to, growing up as a hime, but she had reassured him time and time again that the space was perfect for their little family.
He had to swallow the lump in his throat at the thought of his 'little family'. Who would have thought this voracious little human woman could turn the fearsome Inu no Taisho into such a sap?
Toga walked up to the shoji screen and opened it, stepping through to the main room. Toga barely gave the empty foyer any thought as he made his way to the main bedroom off to the right. Another shoji door shoved to the side and he was finally treated to the sight he had been craving the most.
There, lying on a plush tatami mat, was the most beautiful sight in the world - Izayoi, propped up on a plush bed of fluffy pillows with their pup swaddled at her breast. Kiyo, Izayoi's only maid servant, was in the process of throwing a large, soft blanket over the bottom half of his mate's body.
Izayoi looked up towards him as soon as the shoji door opened, a sleepy smile growing on her face at the sight of her husband. As soon as the blanket was secured over Izayoi, Kiyo turned toward him and reverently bowed.
"Toga-sama," she greeted him.
"Bring us a dinner tray in about an hour, you may be dismissed afterwards. I will attend to all of Izayoi's needs for the remainder of the night," he stated softly. Kiyo bowed to him once again and once to Izayoi, a soft smile on her face as she gazed for a moment on his pup, and quietly passed by.
Toga stayed where he was at the door until he could no longer clearly hear the soft padding of Kiyo's footsteps as she traveled back to the main castle. Keeping her left hand holding Inuyasha up to her breast, she reached out to Toga with her right. He longed to rush to her side, to feel the warmth of her body beside his, but despite his insistence to rush to her room, he took his time to reach her.
Izayoi watched as he meticulously started taking off every individual piece of armor, slowly lowering them to the floor so it didn't startle the pup. Izayoi didn't look irritated in the slightest by the lazy way he undressed; she loved it, in fact. He never took his heated gaze off her as each piece fell, and it never failed to give her goosebumps.
As soon as he was down to just his kosode and hakama, he knelt down beside her and clasped her hand in his. Izayoi giggled as Toga nuzzled his nose against her cheek as his own chest rumbled in satisfaction at the soft tinkling of her laugh. She turned her head to meet him face to face and placed a tender kiss at the corner of his mouth. Toga removed his hand from hers to cup her jaw and deepen their kiss.
Toga would never get enough of her. The way she inhaled as she opened her mouth for him, and sighed deeply, a slight whimper in her voice as her tongue would carefully glide against his fangs. She was so soft and so warm. She tasted sweet and fruity. If he wasn't careful with his little human mate, he could just devour her.
Their kiss was cut short, however, when Izayoi let out a yelp, accidentally pulling at some of his hair from where she had been lightly gripping at the nape of his neck. It had taken a bit of control for Toga to not bite down on her tongue due to the unexpected sharp pain that now bristled at the base of his head.
"Ahh, be careful little one!" Izayoi lightly scolded the infant feeding at her breast. Inuyasha had taken too hard a bite as he drank his mother's milk, scratching the side of her breast with his newly formed - and very sharp - nails. They were not quite long enough to be labeled as 'claws' yet, but they were still sharp enough to tear lightly through human skin.
Inuyasha immediately tried to grab onto Izayoi's breast as soon as her hand let go of his little arm. Toga reached out, offering his own hand to the tiny hanyou, which could more than withstand Inuyasha's baby claws.
Toga squinted his eyes down at his son suspiciously. Inuyasha's gaze never left Toga's as he continued to suckle at Izayoi's breast.
All inuyoukai pups were extremely territorial towards their mothers. Even Sesshomaru had been known to growl at Toga whenever he vied for Kimi's attention - although the stubborn boy would never admit to it. It seemed that fact could also be said of hanyou pups. Toga could practically see the smirk on Inuyasha's face, satisfied that Izayoi was now fussing with him instead of with Toga.
'The brat,' he thought, although it came with no heat behind it. Toga's eyes softened, staring at his youngest son. A warm smile adorned Inuyasha's face as he ate, loving the attention he was receiving from both his parents. His little hand squeezing just a tad tighter around Toga's finger.
It was obvious the pup felt completely safe in the moment, knowing even at such a young age that his parents were there to protect him.
How long would this sense of safety last? At what age will he have to get in the habit of looking over his shoulder at all times? Why must such an innocent life have to have to grow up with such worries? The earlier events of the day began to seep back into Toga's mind, furrowing up his brow at the thought of the other council members and their vitriol.
"What is wrong, my love?," Izayoi asked, sweeping her free hand across his bangs in a loving manner.
"It is quite amazing," he started, not quite ready to answer her question just yet. "For something so small, so delicate, he is already so strong." Toga tried to pull his finger away, but Inuyasha kept a firm grip, unwilling to part with it yet.
"Well, he takes after his father," Izayoi said with a bright smile on her face. Toga did not respond to her, although the small smile didn't leave his face despite the slightly increased furrowing of his brows. Izayoi knew this look; he often came home like this whenever he was forced to fight against his council, usually because of her and their son.
"What did they say this time?" She asked. A part of her didn't want to hear about all the awful things they were saying about their son - she didn't quite care about whatever they thought about her, she was stronger than they all gave her credit for - but she knew there was real fear for the future of the little boy in her arms.
"It doesn't matter."
"Their opinions may not matter, but you shouldn't keep it all to yourself." She lightly gripped his chin in her hand and turned his face to look at her. "We are a team, anata. Do not keep this to yourself"
Toga leaned in towards her neck and inhaled, letting out a deep sigh as he touched his forehead to hers, basking in the warmth she emitted. Her stubbornness, despite opening one of the things he loved about her, was also one of the things he sometimes hated about her, especially when it was up against himself. He wanted to keep them separated from all the hate and viciousness he experienced almost every day. But as he slowly opened his eyes to see the hardened look in her own, he knew there was no keeping anything from her.
For a human, she really knew how to tear down all his walls.
"I don't understand them,"
"Understand who? The council?"
"Them. Everyone. They all believe they have the right to judge who I love, or the children I help bear. How can they look this little one in the eyes and think him an abomination?"
While he was talking, Inuyasha had switched breasts and was now facing away from him, giving Toga a view of his tiny ears. They quirked slightly as Toga talked, trying to pick out his every word. Honestly, they were the cutest things he had ever seen, and they never failed to put a smile on Toga's face. He caressed the back of one of Inuyasha's ears with his knuckle - noting how soft the fur was - making Inuyasha give out a light sigh of contentment as he continued to eat.
"People often fear or hate what they cannot explain," Izayoi said.
"But these are not people, they're youkai - "
"Who also has the tendency to do the same," she interrupted. "You know, you youkai are not all that different from us."
Toga had to stifle a huff at her statement. There were many differences between humans and youkai. From their anatomy to their culture and their social hierarchy. Hell, even their mating rituals were different - Toga had been saddened to find out he could not bind his youki to Izayoi, no matter how hard he tried.
But he didn't want to start an argument about it. He understood where her thoughts were coming from. Youkai would hate him because of the human blood that flowed in his veins, and humans would fear him for the youkai attributes he would possess. Both sides were unable to see past the traits they deemed unworthy or tainted. For all their differences, it was something they could agree on, and the thought made Toga chuckle a bit.
"I suppose you could be right, my little rabbit."
"Of course I'm right, anata," Izayoi replied with a smile on her face. She regarded her husband as he continued to watch Inuyasha, softly stroking his ears or running his hand through his little tuft of white hair. The actions were light, but Izayoi could still see the hardness in his eyes, most likely replaying everything he was forced to listen to today.
Izayoi knew they couldn't just ignore the threats, but she wouldn't let the opinions of others control how they lived. They would teach their son about the necessity of staying vigilant and how to protect himself when his parents couldn't, but they would also teach him how to laugh, and to love with all his heart. They would show the world just how special their family was.
They would have to tread carefully, but if they did it right, they could completely change the dynamic between human and youkai relationships.
"Don't let them get to you Toga. Let's just enjoy the night,"
It was like any other night they spent together. They laid together on the futon, one wriggling child in between them as they made idle chatter about everything and nothing all at once. Kiyo came in to bring them supper, and after Toga had made sure that his mate had eaten her fill, Izayoi and Inuyasha fell into an easy slumber as Toga watched over the pair.
The future he was working toward would not come easy, and there would be many obstacles put forth to hinder him, but in that moment Toga promised both his mate and his pup that he would do whatever it took to bring them a lifetime of happiness.
One changed mind at a time.

Final Thoughts - Sleepy Princess in the Demon Castle
Tumblr media
A comedic tour de force that challenges the notion that you must have more than one joke.
Sleepy Princess had the unique distinction from any other show this season of being the one I was kind of familiar with, having read the first two books of its source material, and so I wasn’t particularly worried going in when other people were heaping cautious praise on it. Not that I blame them - if you strip away the nuance at play, there really is just one joke. The princess wants to sleep, and will do whatever it takes to achieve that goal, regardless of what form of sociopathy she’ll have to engage in that day. The show takes this concept in so many different, well-written directions that this was probably the most concentrated joke-per-minute comedy of the entire year (barring maybe Osomatsu season 3, but that’s not counting towards this year anyway) that also brought with it a cast of characters whose simplicity gave way to the nuanced relationships they have with each other and with the princess herself.
Syalis, the core of the show, is for sure one of its best components all by herself - taking the deadpan loli to its absolute extreme comedic potential, episode after episode, while slowly and steadily growing into a more likable and understandable character. She never outgrows her extreme focus on her goal, but she manages to express it in different ways and learn more about the world around herself in the process of her little adventures, and this ends up being the primary way the audience experiences the small but effective worldbuilding that Sleepy Princess has to offer.
It’s basically the MST3K Mantra applied to a fantasy setting - everything that exists in this world is there to make the show funnier. Does this magical kingdom have anime? Of course it does, and also the Home Shopping Network, video game terminology, and Christmas, because there are jokes to be had here. You learn to stop questioning it because Sleepy Princess is only here to entertain you. There’s a story, sure, but it’s really only kind of there at the end, and though it’s small, it does deliver a genuinely heartwarming conclusion.
I would be remiss though if I didn’t include my other favorite aspect of the show, that being the Demon Lord himself. While initially he seems to have kidnapped the princess simply for reasons of evilness, over time their rapport develops into something more resembling a brother and sister who get along despite neither really acting the way the other wants them to, and the very heart of the show is built on this relationship as the people supposedly holding Syalis captive (emphasis on supposedly) end up with a strange affection for her despite her constant torment of them, creating a unique, platonic reverse-Stockholm in which both sides mutually agree that their situation is probably for the best.
The visual presentation by Doga Kobo, which manages to be on par with what they did with Sing Yesterday For Me, only closer to their usual art style, just sends the show up to the stars for me, with my only real complaints being that I wish I could have seen a bit more of the hero’s side of things because he seems like an incredibly amusing character in his own right, and wanting just a little more plot if they were going to have one at all. Otherwise though, Sleepy Princess is the best comedy since Demon School and the two of them stand high at the top of the genre heap this year. (And hey, Demon School is getting a second season...maybe we’ll get one for this too, a couple years down the line?)

Meeting Like This Chapter 2
Luz groaned as she felt her body suddenly being shaken in place. Her eyes slowly opened and she realized she was looking back at the same people from earlier. That seemed to be all it took to make her wake up from whatever sleep she was just in. She looked around in fear and complete surprise to find herself in a completely environment that definitely was not her royal carriage.
"What did you do to me!" She yelled and the lady looked annoyed while the fuzzy black thing ran behind her legs when she screamed.
"Eda! Make her stop yelling!" He yelled back which kinda took away the point but the lady raised both of her hands.
"Relax both of you. Princess, look at yourself, you aren't tied up or anything, we just want to have a simple talk." After hearing this Luz actually did look down at herself and noticed that the weird lady was telling the truth. She took a deep breath in and moved her limbs just to make sure they were still working, and to her luck they were!
"Then... what did you do to me?" She asked a lot more calm this time around and lady looked at the black thing that was still behind her. She waved her hand and it stepped forward before reaching in it's pouch and pulling something out. Instinctively Luz closed her eyes and curled up but after a few seconds she heard another sigh.
"Kid, open your eyes." She did and she noticed the black thing had some weird dust like substance in his hands.
"What is it?" She asked while slowly reaching her hand out to touch it.
"It's sleepy powder! Makes anyone we pour it on instantly fall asleep! Makes heists super easy!" The black thing seemed pretty proud of himself, but instantly Luz pulled her hand away.
"But... but that's magic!" She yelled in surprise and the lady walked over to a long chair that was a little bit to the side of hers. In front of her was a cauldron like ones she used to see in picture books that evil witches would use. The lady didn't look at her before responding.
"Yep."
"But that's against the law!"
"Listen kid, the only reason magic is against the law is cause the people in charge are afraid that they can't control it. It's not evil, dark, or dangerous. It's the exact same thing as a weapon. Don't your knights and guards use weapons? The weapons aren't bad, but the people who control them can use them for bad reasons." The lady started adding things into the cauldron and Luz couldn't help but think about what she said.
Well in a certain way it did make sense, but she couldn't help but feel skeptical. How can you just question what you've been told all your life just because one person says so. Is she supposed to just call her mom a liar now? What would she gain from lying to her?
Then she started thinking about Amity. She couldn't help it, she was thinking about guards and knights so of course she would be the first person to come to mind. Luz could never see her as evil or doing anything bad in the first place... well maybe when they were younger but definitely not anymore.
"But weapons can't like... control people." Luz said slowly while thinking back to the witches and wizards from children books. The lady and the black thing stared at her for a moment before they busted out laughing.
"Magic can't control people!" The black thing yelled while still laughing.
"But in the stories you can!"
The older lady was still laughing and it took her a few more seconds before she could actually speak. "That's in your stories. They want magic to seem as bad as possible, even if they have to make stuff up."
"Then... are curses fake too?" Luz couldn't help but notice how the lady's hand stopped stirring the cauldron for a few seconds before she continued.
"Nah, those are all too real kid." She sighed before looking back at her and shrugging.
"But it's nothing for you to worry about, you'll be back to your old life soon enough without any memories of this." She said while adding something else.
"W-wait, what do you mean?" Luz's eyes widened again as she looked around frantically for some kind of trap or anything that might knock her out to cause memory loss.
"You've seen our faces. We can't just let you go free or you might report us."
"I wouldn't! Please don't hurt me!"
"Kid calm down. I've been working on a forgetting potion, but it takes some time. You'll drink it and return back to your castle without remembering any of this. We don't hurt people." She sounded offended at the thought and Luz slightly relaxed but was still a bit nervous.
"How much will I forget?" She looked back at the cauldron which the lady was now stirring again.
"Ehh, not too much. At most you might forget being in that carriage."
When she brought that up Luz immediately thought back to the reform school. If she went back that's where she would have to go. She sighed and covered her face in her hands.
"Um, is she okay?" The black thing asked while poking her leg.
"Yes, I'm fine. I just... am thinking is all. But besides that." She removed her hands and looked down at the black thing. "What are you?" She asked cautiously and the fuzzball's eyes widened and he let out a small squeal. The lady groaned from her chair right before the black thing ran across the room and pulled out a stool and then dragged it all the way in front of Luz.
She watched him and decided not to interrupt while he looked so excited. When it was in front of her he then climbed it and posed.
"I am the King of Demons! I have an army that follows my every beck and call, and I put fear in the hearts of all humans!" At his claims the lady scoffed.
"Your army is a bunch of stuffed animals."
"So what!"
Luz couldn't help but giggle. Who could be afraid of him when he was this adorable. "Well King of Demons, I think you're too cute to strike fear in my heart."
"Meh!" He yelled and turned back to her. "What do you mean! I'm not cute!"
"You're the cutest little thing!"
"No I am not!" He stomped his foot on the stool and Luz couldn't help but move closer to him, but he didn't notice.
"You are!"
"I'm not!" She moved even closer.
"You are!"
"I'm not!" She didn't give him time to react before she pulled him into her arms and hugged him tightly.
"You are! You are!" As she hugged him he started squirming and trying to get away.
"Eda! Eda! Help me! She's trying to squeeze me to death!"
The lady sighed, "Kid as entertaining as that was, do you mind letting him go?" She asked and Luz pouted but still let him go. King ran over to the chair the lady was in and sat down next to her.
"Your arms are a death trap!" He pointed an accusing claw at her before turning his head away from her. She couldn't help but laugh again before she then looked back at the lady.
"So your name is Eda?" She asked curiously.
"Yeah."
"Are you a witch?" She asked and the lady looked at her and then down at her cauldron, then back at her. Luz didn't say anything as she waited for an answer, and after about 20 seconds Eda decided that she was slow and groaned.
"Yes, I am."
"How did you learn magic?"
"No we are not doing this. How about you and King go make something in the kitchen, just let me work in peace." She pointed in the direction of the kitchen. King eagerly scampered off the chair and into the kitchen and Luz grinned at the idea of working with the little cute demon.
"No problem Miss Eda!" She followed right behind King and looked around the unfamiliar space. "So what are we making cooking buddy?"
"Obviously we're making scones!"
"Well then! Let's get to work!"
—————
"Hey Miss Eda, we finished the scones. King was eating them up so I made sure to save you a few." Luz said while holding out the tray to her. Eda looked at her for a moment before shaking her head.
"I might eat 'em later, I'm trying to finish this potion before nightfall." She said and Luz turned her head to look out of one of the windows.
"It's a little late for that." She said slowly, not wanting to anger the older woman. Eda looked too before she groaned and threw her hands up. "Of course! This always potion takes forever. I hate making it." She took one of the scones off the tray and stuffed it in her mouth.
Luz slowly sat next to her and looked in the cauldron. "Why does it take so long?" She asked then looked back at her.
"It's because the ingredients are really exotic and need some time to settle together. They're from really different regions of the world and..." she stopped and leaned back. "You probably don't wanna hear all this."
Luz didn't hesitate to shake her head. "No, no! I do! Please continue."
"Well, they're from very different regions of the world and like I said they need some time to actually settle together. And certain ingredients need to settle before you can add others because there could be some very... interesting reactions when it's not done correctly. So it takes a lot of time."
"Oh, okay." Luz sighed and leaned back as well on the chair.
"You should probably get some sleep, but by the time you wake up your life should be back to normal." Eda leaned forward to look back in the cauldron trying to gauge how much more time it would take.
"I... can you wake me up before you give me the potion?"
"I probably shouldn't."
"Please?"
"Fine. But only a few minutes, and we'll have to use the sleeping powder on you again."
"Thank you." Luz then closed her eyes and let the noises of Eda making the potion lull her to sleep.

Yandere Varian
I'm aware he has a crush on Catherine but I just think it's sweet..in a creepy way how he wanted Rapunzel's hair..it was the perfect story for a fanfic
"Rapunzel! Hey Rapunzel! I need to talk with you!" A boy with black hair yelled looking around for the princess,he helped a bouquet of yellow flowers. His name was Varian and he needed to give them to her,he entered the garden and saw her sitting alone with Pascal,"Rapunzel!"
The princess looked over,"Evening Varian! What can I help with?" She asked with her joyful sounding voice. The boy held out the flowers,"I..I wanted to give these to you..and can you go to the dining hall.." The princess grabbed the flowers and smiled,"So sweet! Of course!" She said with joy
Varian walked away with a jump in his step
The blonde princess looked at the flowers,"Oh Eugene.." She had no idea who the flowers were really from
Varian looked around for the princess dressed in his best suit,he saw the door open and the princess walk in wearing a pink glittery gown. Rapunzel saw the dinner on the table,"Hey..um..I'm not a great cook, but I hope you like it.." The boy said scratching the back of his neck,"I'm sure it's lovely! I'm glad you and Eugene made this for me."
The boy looked confused but figured out what she thought
"No..I made this..for US." Rapunzel looked at him confused..but then she relieved what he meant,"Oh Varian..that's..that's really sweet..but you know me and Eugene are married.." "But he doesn't know you as well as I do!" The boy pulled out a book and flipped through multiple pages stopping at one
"Your favorite food is hazel nut soup, your favorite color is light blue, you like ballet, favorite animals are chameleons, and Gothel tricked you to believe you were her daughter. See?! I know everything about you!" Rapunzel sighed,"It's..sweet that you remember everything about me,but I love Eugene..I'm sorry.."
Varian looked down feeling tears come down his eyes,he ran away from the area
The princess looked at the dinner and sighed walking away
In a secret place in the castle,Varian was there lashing out in anger,"STUPID! STUPID! Why would she had said yes?! She's the fucking princess, your just an alchemist! Why did you even think you stood a chance?!" He screamed throwing testing tubes smashing them. He started to calm down..but then broke down into tears
He fell to the ground covering his face
Varian looked into the mirror..when something hit him
"No..it's not my fault.." He stood up and walked up to the glass
The image of that smug asshole appeared,"It's..HIS..all HIS fault. HE's making her like this,I need to save her..but..she won't believe me.." Varian then noticed a letter knife on the testing table, the boy picked it up
He looked at it..and a smile crossed his face,"I'll..I'll just kill him..and Rapunzel will be saved from the demon keeping her imprisoned.." With a plan in mind,Varian walked out the area
Rapunzel sat alone in her room thinking of what she had done, she felt like she needed to apologize to the boy..he looked very hurt that she turned him down. With a quick breath, the princess walked out her bedroom to find Varian
"Hey Flynn? Can we talk real quick?" The former bandit looked at his pal and waved as he followed the young male
They were now in the garden
"What did you want to talk about?" Varian got his knife ready,"Well..it's about Rapunzel..you see..I..I really like her..so..can you please leave her so I can have a chance with her?" Flynn scratched his neck a bit uncomfortable,"Well..sorry,but me and Rapunzel already have plans to have kids..and we don't plan to break up..sorry.."
Varian sighed,"Alright. That was your last chance." "What-" Flynn looked down and saw a letter knife piece his chest, his eyes were wide in shock..and with an opened mouth trying to scream. He fell to the ground..but Varian wasn't satisfied,he stabbed his eyes in and ruined his face
The blade stabbed his cheeks in,his eyes were gone, his nose was broken and he looked unrecognizable,"Looks like your not so pretty anymore!" Varian yelled laughing stabbing his chest again causing blood to fly on his face. He looked down at his work..and decided to take it a step forward,he stood up and started to smash his head in with his foot..it broke
Varian walked away a trail of blood following behind him
Flynn Riders death spread out around the kingdom and the killer hadn't been found yet. Rapunzel was the most destroyed sadden by the death of her husband
But Varian took this chance to get closer to her,but no matter how he tried..the princess only found him as a friend
It got to the point..Varian was planning his next step to get Rapunzel to love him
Rapunzel walked up a path that was lined with roses, she saw the trail when she got out the shower which gave her some time to change into her normal clothing
The sun was setting shining over the sea,the princess heard guitar music playing
She saw Varian leaning against a tree playing a guitar. In front of him was a rose blanket with a basket full of food and drinks along with two wine glasses. The cherry on top was the candle that gave a sweet rose smell
"Varian..this..this-" The boy placed the guitar down and walked over to her,"It's not much..but I know Flynn's death got you down,so I wanted to make you happy." Rapunzel smiled,"Thank you..this is amazing."
The two talked for hours laughing and enjoying each others company,Varian poured Rapunzel a glass of cider,"I hope you don't mind me asking.." "Go ahead." Rapunzel took a sip,"How come your acting so..calm after hearing how Eugene died?" Varian took a sip of his own drink,"I've seen worse deaths..way worst. It's a shame he died but It's nothing from what I've seen."
The princess was about to talk again but then felt very sleepy,"I..I think I should head back to the palace.." She said standing up,Varian stood up and grabbed her,"You'll fall and hurt yourself if you go alone. I'll help you." He said looking into her half lidded eyes
He was right
Halfway there,Rapunzel passed out. Varian held her in his arms which..gave him a happy feeling.
The boy laid the princess on her bed and covered her up with a blanket,"Rest well my dear." He said giving her a kiss on the lips. It was just as sweet as he imagined.
Varian exit the room with a smile on his face,he walked towards his room but was stopped by a hand,"I know it was you." He looked over confused and saw Cassandra standing there
"You killed Flynn." "What?! No! I would never-" The woman showed him a file with notes and photos
"Your hair was found at the scene, that night there was blood in the water and during that you took a shower, your the only one in town who isn't sad about it,and their was a blood trail that was in the shape of your damn shoes! It's clear your the fucking killer!" She yelled. Varian looked at her seriously,"I'm not the killer. I would never harm someone that Rapunzel loves."
Cassandra scoffed turning her back,"Just wait..when I give this to the police, they'll be on my side."
The morning sun shined in the sky,Cassandra opened her eyes but wasn't greeted by the lights of the sun. She looked around..it was a dark room full of science products..and broke glass, her gaze ended up on a table with objects covered with a cloth. The wall moved showing a secret passage way,"You know..this little room was used as a dungeon to torture prisoners til they die. I use this room for testing things..and of course..planning my next kill." Varian said laughing a bit
"Varian! What's going on?!" The woman yelled struggling against the ropes that tied her to the chair,"I thought it was clear what I was doing. I'm going to kill you." Cassandra's eyes widen and she started to trash around trying to break from the ropes,"Don't even try. The ropes can't be broken." "Why are you doing this?!"
The boy rolled his eyes annoyed,"You know why..your going to tell everyone what I did.." He said removing the cloth and grabbed a screwdriver,"So you DID kill him!" "It was pretty obvious." Varian said walking over to her
"Don't do this! I..I won't tell anyone! Just don't-" "That's a lie. Your acting like I'm stupid." Before Cassandra could speak..the screwdriver was stabbed in her stomach
The disappearance of Cassandra spread just as fast,Rapunzel was even more destroyed. She refused to leave the castle even if the lights were out
The only one there was Varian
Just Varian
She felt safe in his arms
The boy finally had her to himself
It was just him and her now
Nobody else
Nobody
NOBODY
Fun fact! I'm accepting writing requests! It's freeeeeee!
Or whatever. Hope you liked it

More than Pride vol. I (1)
She was a mistress of her own fate, ready to curve her own future. She was a fighter, refusing to give in to her own, cruel demons. And no one could take it away from her, not anymore, neither with words or deeds, because right now she felt strong enough to stand up for herself.
If only Gilbert Blythe didn't spoil it with his jokes.

Chapter 1 I Like Imagining Better
Anne Shirley-Cuthbert didn’t sleep well that night.
In all honesty, she wished she hadn't slept at all, for in such case she would have been nothing more than tired, instead of weary and disturbed as she was right now. No, she didn't lack sleep – and that was what made her night so feverish, so painful. It was those scraps of time when she fell into slumber, the short naps that instead of rest gave her that horrible, irrational exhaustion.
It was the dreams, the nightmares that came to her every time as she as much as closed her eyes.
No, not dreams; not nightmares, even.
Memories.
"You red-headed witch."
She took a deep, sharp breath, still unable to decide whether she wanted to get out of bed in one jump, leaving the horrors of her past behind her, or whether she'd rather tuck herself neatly under the duvet, curling up and pretending this false protection from the outside world would be enough to make her feel better. Maybe if she focused on something pleasant, like Princess Cordelia and another adventure of hers, she would calm down a little; maybe she'd even feel happy.
"I like imagining better than remembering."
Even this, however, didn't seem to work that well that morning. Summoning Cordelia did not make her think of balls and castles, but of the constant, merciless mockery. The girls at the orphanage laughing, always laughing at her – her imagination, her big words, her looks.
Her skinny silhouette.
Her many, many freckles.
Her hair.
She shook her head and opened her eyes, determined not fall into the hole of fear and despair that was once again looming before her. She shouldn't be thinking of her looks right now, Marilla had already told her so more times than she could count – and if the last year had taught her anything, it was that she should not try to change her appearance, let alone her hair. No, one haircut was more than she wished for for a lifetime.
And yet, it still hurt so much.
A noise came from downstairs, clearly indicating that Marilla was up, starting the day together with the rising Sun. Anne sat up on the mattress, listening closely, half-expecting to hear her guardian's step on the staircase; but she heard no such thing. It was still early, and although Miss Cuthbert certainly wasn't the one to tilt to anyone's lazing around, Anne realised she wasn't expected to be up and ready for at least some time now.
She plumped down on the bed, her cheek hitting the soft pillow once more. She frowned when she felt the wet stain left on it, something she hadn't been aware of earlier. Again, she lifted herself on her elbows a little, ready to examine the damage caused by -
Her tears, of course.
She had been crying again.
She blinked repeatedly and felt another drop slide down her face before she wiped it away. She'd assumed the only reason why her vision had been so blurry was her tiredness; now she knew there was more to it.
Anne held her breath as another sound reached her ears as the realisation dawned on her. Skinny or not, freckled or not, she must have looked terrible after a night like this. Her hair was not only red, but completely dishevelled as well, and she was more than sure she had dark bags under her eyes, which in turn probably matched her hair in colour at the moment. It wasn't vanity this time, she knew that much – at this moment she had much more noble reasons for paying her own appearance so much mind.
Marilla would notice.
And then she'd get worried, which was bad enough on its own, and would become even worse after, when she'd start asking questions. No matter if Anne would answer truthfully, the inquiry would surely bring the memories back and Heaven only knew whether she could bear to keep her emotions hidden inside.
In a second, she made up her mind. She got up from the bed and folded her covers neatly, all while trying to remain as silent as possible during such a task. She walked towards the mirror, ready for the most terrifying sight on earth, only to be greeted by a slightly strained face and hair far less spiky than she'd expected it do be. Her sleepiness was gone too, making her look much more lively, even if it wasn't peaceful.
All in all, not all hope was lost for her.
Still, her eyes spoke of her exhaustion and as long as she didn't take care of that, she had no business in coming downstairs or even more so, greeting Marilla in her own little room. So she wiped away the rest of the tears that still lingered on her lashes and set off to work over the wide metal bowl, ready to splash the cold water on her face. The water was, indeed, icy – but just this once, Anne found herself grateful for the fact. In a few seconds the embordering of her eyes went from red to pink, allowing the girl to believe that by the time she combed and braided her hair all traces of her untimely distress would be gone and, with a little work and luck on her part, even forgotten. Her tangled hair turned out to be of help in that, as she needed a few good additional minutes to gain any control over it – but, as mentioned afore, it only made her gain the time necessary for her flushed skin to come to its regular hue.
She sprayed some more water on it just to make sure she hadn't neglected anything – and with that, she was gone downstairs.
She could handle this, couldn't she?
"Good morning, Marilla," she announced cheerfully, hoping the tone of her voice wouldn't seem forced or worse, fake. It was a good morning, after all, and she knew it; she just didn't feel it entirely just yet.
Marilla gave her a stern, astonished look. "You're up early."
"Oh, I really am not," Anne protested, sending her guardian a radiant smile as she walked towards the cupboard and took out their everyday dishes and cutlery. "It's barely twenty minutes before my usual get up time, and to be completely honest, how could one sleep in – or simply sleep at all – on a morning so lovely as this?"
Again, her words, so seemingly far from the truth, were nothing but genuine. The morning was indeed beautiful – crisp but fresh, chilly but bright, and Anne knew it would only grow more delightful as time progressed. Focusing on her work made her think less of the disturbances of the night as well and she was already beginning to feel better altogether. It was Green Gables she was at, for goodness sake, not any of the horrid places she had ever had a misfortune to live at.
It was also real, unlike the lands she'd so frequently dreamt of. She was here, and she was loved – and all of it was true.
Maybe that's the point, she realised suddenly, placing the plates on the neat, empty table. Maybe imagining, while most certainly better than remembering, is still nothing compared to actually living.
Hadn't she once said that coming to Avonlea was better than anything she could ever imagine on her own?
"Lovely or not, you're as skittish as always," Marilla's voice tore her from her reverie the very second she came to her revelation. "Matthew's gone to Carmody, he won't be accompanying us at breakfast. I told you that twice last evening."
"Oh, I'm sorry," Anne stuttered in surprise. "I did not think of that. Matthew's presence at breakfast is such a natural thing, it didn't as much as cross my mind it could be otherwise, no matter the circumstances. Although now that I think of it, I can remember you say he was to be absent today. Would you mind telling me why he went, again?"
"Why, business, of course," the older woman responded matter-of-factly, as usual trying to make her voice sound harsh and scolding; an attempt as noble as pointless, for everyone, Anne included, knew she could not be truly cross with the red-haired girl she'd come to call her own. Still, Marilla believed it was her duty as Anne's warden to keep up appearances, as feeble as it may have seemed. "Although I don't see why I should tell you anything more, since you're as good as forgetting it now."
"Oh, that's not true at all," Anne opposed, her grin not fading in the slightest. "I have great memory, even Miss Stacey says so, if only I choose to use it properly. That's what Miss Stacey says too, for she also believes the only reason I sometimes fail to provide a good answer is because I decide to remember things not worth remembering. At least she doesn't mean remembering poetry by that, as so many people I've met so far did. I am pretty sure Mr Phillips did as well, even though he was – he is – a teacher and it is my belief that teachers of all people should encourage children to read poetry and to learn it by heart. In fact, Miss Stacey agrees that -"
"Oh for Heaven's sake, Anne!" Marilla decided to cut her off at last. "Almost two years spent in this house and you still talk as much as on the day you first came here. Now, I don't doubt Miss Stacey agrees with whatever crazy ideas you shared with her, but she won't be any more understanding towards you when you get late to school than she is to the other children."
Anne laughed quietly over her untouched food.
"I'm sure I won't be," she protested. "I got up earlier today, after all – or didn't I?"
"Yes, and you're on the best way to waste all of that precious spare time on your blabbing when you could eat your breakfast in peace for once."
Anne did not dare respond to that. With a smile, she bit onto the slice of bread she'd been holding and proceeded with her meal in silence, only sending her older friend teasing, yet most loving glances which the latter tried to ignore.
Yes, Anne thought, out of the three – remembering, imagining and living – living surely is the most pleasant one.

100 Reasons Why - Chapter 5
Song for this Chapter : Sirens by Fleurie
5
Nighttime is different.  Things are otherwise when the world is black. Insecurities and hurts, anxieties and fears grow teeth at night.  - Kate Morton
When everyone else sleeps, Lance cannot help but worry.  His doubts, his fears they all come to life.  They circle his head, whispering like the demons they are.  He thought after a while it would stop.  Lance dreamed of the day he could sleep in peace again.  But those nights are typically only after long battles where he’s too tired to even change.
You’re not good enough.  You’ll never be good enough.  You just happened to be in the right place at the right time.
Lance remembers feeling wanted.  He remembers feeling loved.  Back home, with his family, he never had to doubt that there were people who loved and cared for him.  But here, in this castle, did anyone really care about him or did they just deal with him?
Once, when they first started their journey, Lance thought he was living the dream.  All of his nights watching the rockets from Varadero finally paid off!  He was in a ship of his very own, with a crew and a freaking princess.  No, not just any princess, a gorgeous alien princess.  Lance had his best friend, his classmate and even his hero to accompany him.
But it didn’t take long for his opinions to change.  This was no dream.  A dream was something you wanted to keep living.  Not these long days with equally as long nights with nothing but the music from his crappy headphones to keep him company.
During the day, he spends his time joking with the others, even at their disdain because he realizes they all need a break.  He flirts with Allura, because - well, she is really freaking pretty - but also because it gives her something else to focus on besides doom and gloom...if only for a minute.  If Lance can be silly and garnish even a grin or two when the others are stressed up to their eyeballs, he feels he’s done his job.
But at night?  That’s the time of day when he realizes that they would likely get more accomplished if it wasn’t for his constant screw ups.  When everyone else is asleep, Lance realizes that the rest of them roll their eyes at him because they are tired of him.  They have all grown.  He’s just stayed the same.
Will he ever find a reason to want to be out here like the others?  All of his family is back on Earth.  And, of course, this mission was to help save Earth too.  But it feels like such a long and distant thing.  When was the last time any of them even saw another human?  Will they really be able to save the universe anyway?  They’re just a messed up bunch of kids.
Somewhere in the midst of his worries, Lance tends to fall asleep, pretending he was only so tired from exams.  Tonight, just as he’s about to drift off, Lance hears something.
Knock knock
“Allita? Fernán?!”  Lance jumps out of his bed for a minute, forgetting where he is and hurriedly opens the door to be met with the face of a tired Keith.  “Right.”  Lance says aloud before realizing it.
“Right?”  Keith looks over then back to Lance.
“Er, nothing.  What’s up?”  Lance stretches then opens his door to let Keith inside.  Tiredly, Keith follows suit in stretching.
“I’m...not sure.”  Keith admits quietly.  He looks to the ground then back at Lance.  Trying to think, Keith looks down from the corner of his eyes before scrunching his face up.  Why had he come here?
“Well, obviously you're not sleeping well either, so sit down.”  Lance plops back down on his bed and puts his arms under his head.  He looks up to the ceiling and waits until he feels Keith carefully take a seat beside him.  The two sit quietly together for a while, Lance pretending he wasn’t trying to work through an anxiety overload ten minutes ago while Keith simply doesn’t really know what to do.  Finally, Lance sighs.  “You’re anxious, aren’t you?”
“What?”  Keith blurts exasperatedly.  “No.”
“You’re not a very good liar either.”  Lance says with a sleepy grin.  He watches as Keith grits his teeth and crosses his arms.  “It’s fine.  You don’t have to tell me anything.”  Lance leans on one arm as he covers his mouth to yawn.  “Remember how I said earlier that abuelita -”
“What does that word even mean?”
“What word?”  Lance looks back at Keith, trying to remember if he had said some word strange.
“Abu...whatever.”
“Oh!”  Lance smacks his forehead.  “That’s what I call my grandma.”
“Oh.”  Keith responds quietly, looking back to the ground a bit.  He takes a deep breath then just focuses on the ground.  Watching this, Lance isn’t sure what to say exactly.  Instead, he nervously puts a hand on Keith’s knee.
His knee?!  Really Lance?!  What are you doing?!
And despite Lance thinking it would be awkward, Keith just turns back to him with a look of question.
“You realize you have family now...right?”  Lance smiles, hoping it doesn’t look as forced as it feels.  At least if anyone wouldn’t catch that it’s off, it would be Keith.
“Oh yeah, sure.”  Keith sinks a little further in his spot.  “I have Allura who hates me.  Hunk who is freaked out by me.  Pidge who - well, Pidge is pidge.  And Shiro-”
“Do you think family gets along all the time?”  Lance interrupts him, not paying attention to the fact that his hand is still on Keith’s knee.
“I mean...I don’t know?”  Keith answers honestly.
“I assure you, they don’t.”  Lance actually laughs a little.  “I’m fairly certain at least three fights would break out at our house every day.”  He smiles as he remembers this.  “Allita would fight with Fernán over who got to pick the mango that day.  Mom would argue with Auntie over meals.  Retha and Yoselin would regularly fight over who stole whose clothes that day.  Me and Teb were always fighting.  Sometimes just with words, but a lot of the time we would rough house and mom would kick us into the yard.”
Beside him, Keith can’t help but be a little confused.  Why does Lance look so happy about fighting?  Isn’t fighting what they all do tirelessly almost every day?  Why is this other fighting worthy of smiling?  He listens to Lance recollect his story and when Lance opens his eyes, Keith is kind of taken aback.  Is this what his real smile looks like?
“But, isn’t that bad?”  Keith asks finally.
“No!  It’s normal!”  Lance admits with a laugh.  “The closer a family is, the more they will bicker.  And, do you honestly think my mom didn’t tell me a few times growing up that she hated me?”  He raises an eyebrow.
“I mean, I can believe it.”  Keith shrugs, not sure if he was suppose to have argued it or not.  But the smile Lance responds with, tells him agreeing was the right thing to say.
“Exactly.”  Lance can tell Keith isn’t keeping up so he laughs a bit.  “Allura might seem mad right now, but she’ll come around.  And Hunk...well, he is probably just poking fun.  That’s what he does. And… Pidge is likely more curious than anything.”  Tilting his head to the side, Lance smiles.  “They’re family.  Give them a couple of days and you’ll be back to just grumpy ol’ Keith.”  Lance assures.
“What about you?”  Keith asks innocently.
“What about me?”  Lance doesn’t realize that he hadn’t included himself in the list so he just looks to Keith with eyebrows furrowed.
“Are you family?”  Keith questions.
Lance doesn’t respond right away.  He bites his lip and looks to the ground.  Why does it feel strange to say yes to this?  Obviously he just said the rest were.  So of course he would be too...right?  Right?!
“Y-yeah I guess.”  Lance blushes a little when he responds and rubs his hand on the back of his neck.  When he looks to Keith, it’s obvious he doesn’t understand the reason behind Lance’s response.
“Thanks for this.”  Keith responds with his small grin again as he stands to leave.  He looks back and swears he sees Lance reach out to stop him but then Lance is sitting in the same position again.
“Of course.”  Lance smiles.  “I told you, I’m here for you when you need me.”  He adds with a nod before laying back down.  “Now, if you don’t mind, I’m going to try to get some sleep again.”
“Yeah.  Sorry about that.”  Keith apologizes as he reaches the door.
“Eh, don’t be sorry.  I wasn’t sleeping well anyay.  It’s too quiet here.”  Lance admits before he grabs his headphones and puts them on as he watches Keith leave the room.

(Series: Taimadou Gakuen 35 Shiken Shoutai | Artist: Kippu)
No. of Reviews: 17
This season is pretty packed and AnimeLab, an Australian anime streaming service which I prefer, actually managed to get most of the shows that I was interested in so I’m watching more shows than normal and there were a few shows that I was planning to watch but ultimately decided to wait until they were finished before watching them so I didn’t overload myself (namely, Adachi to Shimamura and Last Crusade).
Digimon Adventure: I feel like this show is gaslighting me at this point. There keep on being great episodes which get me excited to watch more followed by some really bad ones (ie episode 9, which preludes the ultimate evolution arc, and episode 16, which preludes yet another Omegamon appearance). I should be clear that I have no issues if the reboot just wants to be pure fanservice for existing fans but the reality is that Omegamon just does not work for me as fanservice. I still have some hope for the show but not a whole lot of it at this point. There are two things that I would still like for the reboot to do though: a recreation of the Seraphimon & Holydramon evolution sequence from the Golden Digimentals movie and an early appearance of Ken. I would love it if they either gave Ken a small cameo or even made him the focus of an episode. It could be so interesting if the reboot made it so that the Adventure children met Ken and maybe were even part of what led to the creation of the Digimon Kaiser by rejecting him somehow. I don’t think the series will do either of those things but they are fanservice things that would make me personally happy. I’m mostly just in it for Hikari/Tailmon at this point.
Higurashi: First, a bit of background: I have not read the original sound novel but I have seen the first anime and read all of the main manga and several spin-offs. I have also read the Umineko sound novels and manga adaptations. Higurashi is really a mixed bag for me because sometimes I find that the pacing works really well to build the creepy atmosphere but sometimes I think it takes far too long on the build-up and gets boring before the pay-off happens. So far, I’m enjoying the new anime well enough and I like seeing all the little easter eggs for people who have prior knowledge of the series but I’m still finding the pacing to be too slow. I look forward to seeing what happens with it though and I am enjoying it. The music and voice acting are so good and really help to build the atmosphere the series is going for.
Danmachi 3: tbh, I thought this season would start by adapting Syr’s story from volume 8 to introduce all that stuff with Daedalus Street and some characters that show up later but whatever. I’m enjoying how the anime is adapting this arc, anyway. It’s been a while since I’ve read the arc so I’m not really comparing it to the light novel while I’m watching it but I enjoy how they’re portrayed Wiene. I do wish that they had spent more time building up Wiene’s relationships with the other familia members. I can’t remember if it was actually well done in the anime or if I’m just weak to found family and loved it regardless of development but I felt the anime could have done more to get the watchers to get attached to Wiene quicker.
Yashahime: Backstory time: I read the manga twice, the first time I absolutely loved it and the second time I still liked it and thought it was very engaging but it didn’t have quite the same effect on me. I don’t think I ever watched the anime all the way through but I remember watching some of the Kikyo episodes. It’s hard to say how I’m going to feel about Yashahime, given that we’re still in the introductory episodes but I really like the characters so far, especially Moroha, and I’m intrigued by the story so I’m enjoying it. Great music too.
Wandering Witch: I’m so glad this series is getting the adaptation it deserves. The show looks gorgeous and I especially love all of the backgrounds. It’s just so pretty *_*. I kind of wish they would fuck around with the source material more because so far they just seem to be adapting from volume 1 and one of the advantages of the light novel, I think, is that you can adapt the stories in any order you choose. I feel like they should’ve limited themselves to 3-4 stories per volume. I’m hoping we’ll get the Runaway Bride chapter and Amneshia’s story. I still love the former and I think the latter story would make for a good closing episode for the anime. The girl with horns story would also make for a good conclusion to the anime given the tone of it.
Love Live! NHSIC: I’m not too involved in the Love Live fandom but I did really like the Sunshine anime and I’m a Kanan Matsuura fan. I played the game for a bit but quit after a couple of months because it was taking up too much of my time. I did watch SIP when it aired but I never got around to watching the second season and I barely remember it so I have no stake there. Anyway, you can tell that the show has a ridiculously high budget and I’m surprised at how it feels more like a musical than anything else. I’m enjoying it so far but I’ve no idea whether it’s going to be very memorable for me so we shall see.
Sleepy Princess in the Demon Castle: This is definitely the funniest show this season and each episode fills me with joy and laughter. Also, I always love things that turn the damsel princess in distress trope on it’s head and this is probably the best twist I’ve seen of it since Galavant.

I don’t have any exciting new volumes coming out next month. I must confess that I’ve kind of given up on new releases after going through several bad ones this year that I regret paying for. I’m still buying new releases from authors I already love or new series that I’ve heard are good but I’ve just fell less inclined buy things at full price unless I already know that I like the author. Regardless, I did buy the next volumes of Danmachi, Hataraku Maou-sama and Saekano (finally!) so I shall likely read them next month.
