Sebastian Sallow x Reader
Summary : You read quite a risque book next to your best friend and the next few days are filled with lots of tension.
CW : SMUT, f!reader, 18+ Characters, Praise/Degradation, fingering (f! receiving), breeding kink, possessive!seb (if u squint), lots of teasing & cheesy petnames
A/N : I thought of this idea a few days ago and have been working hard on it LMAO. I love the game and have such bad brainrot - if anyone has requests for the hogwarts legacy characters.. send them my way <3
Sebastian and you had been close for a long time. I mean with everything you two had gone through it was only plausible. He was your rock, best friend, and maybe.. secret crush. He didn’t need to know about that though! Besides, you would never want to ruin what the two of you had.
“You’re staring. What’s wrong?” Sebastian’s voice took you out of a daydream. You shook your head as the boy raised an eyebrow.
“Nothing. Just was thinking about the potions essay.” Sebastian groaned, throwing his face into the couch pillow.
“Don’t remind me. This is supposed to be our break, you know.”
He was right. For it being Christmas break it didn’t feel as much. All of your professors were going overboard with the homework as if a few weeks off would make your brain go smooth. You had barely any time to read or venture around with the looming thought of essays.
“It is quite tedious. I don’t get why they continue to add even more work.”
“Beats me. I think they just like to watch us suffer. Either way, I still don’t like them. I’m taking a nap.” Sebastian adjusted himself over the couch, laying his legs across your lap. You smiled as you rested your hands on his limbs, looking at his relaxed face. He was quite beautiful when he wasn’t talking himself up or making snarky remarks. Not that you would tell him that, you would never hear the end of it.
‘Does dear Y/N really think I’m beautiful? Am I like your little swan, my love’
You shuddered at the thought and rolled your eyes. He would. With this time alone, or more so, without Seb bothering you to death you looked around and took out your book. Nobody would catch you this late and it wouldn’t hurt to read.. It made you nervous thinking about if Sebastian woke up and caught you with such a scandalous book but you couldn’t help yourself. You had always secretly loved dirty literature. You’d go into a quaint bookshop where your friend, Agatha, had a hidden section for women like you. The scandalous and degenerative novels.
His fingers trailed down her bodice, lips making their way down her neck. Their breaths combined as he yanked at the last remaining garments.
You held your breath. You knew you were finally getting to the good part.
“Darling, you are ravishing. Look at you, such a smart and pretty girl, open all for me..” His hands circled her neck, pulling her ever closer. “Say it. Go on.” She shuddered at his domineering voice.
“Merlin’s beard.” Sebastian grumbled as he adjusted his back.
You had almost screamed, shuffling your book into your bag. Sebastian was just as shocked, holding his chest as if he had just had a heart attack.
“I think I’ve just died. What in the world did you jump for?” Sebastian breathed out, hand rubbing at his eyes.
You calmed yourself, rubbing soothing circles into his leg.
“Sorry. You moving scared me, I was out of it.” You gave him a small smile hoping that he wouldn’t pry anymore in his sleepy state. He just hummed and closed his eyes.
“Right. Try not to jump next time I wake up, yeah?” A half smirk made his way onto his face. You only nodded, continuing to fidget for the next few minutes. Maybe reading improper literature in the halls wasn’t your best idea.
It had been a few days since that incident and you and Sebastian were out and about. He had decided that going on a walk would ‘clear your minds’ before going back to the hell that was classwork. You had to admit that seeing his nose and cheeks tinge with a lovely shade of red was worth freezing your ass off.
“It’s pretty isn’t it?” Sebastian’s voice cut through the silence, his eyes wandering across the fields of snow. It was gorgeous but you couldn’t help but think that your view of him was much more of a sight.
“It is.” You murmured, watching as he turned to meet your eyes. He gave you a small smile, one he reserved for moments like these. The calm and kind Sebastian, the unprotected one that he let almost no one see. You liked this Sebastian. It made you feel special. He let you in to see his vulnerabilities and you felt like you could melt away in them.
“It’s getting late, you know. Wouldn’t want to get in trouble getting back after curfew.” His tall frame ushered behind you and weaved his arm around your chest. His head laid against yours and you swore Medusa had turned you to stone. You took a few slow breaths trying to calm your racing heart and finally spoke.
“A few more minutes couldn’t hurt Seb.”
His lips lingered by your ear and his scent engulfed you.
“Trying to get us in trouble? Such a naughty girl.”
Your whole body lit up in flames. Sebastian was a flirt but he had never said something so brazen before. There was no way in hell he was doing that on purpose, he had to be trying to get a rise out of you or something.
“Oh shut up. You’re one to talk.” Your voice cracked and suddenly your shoes looked very interesting.
“Heh. You’re cute when you’re embarrassed. Let’s get back.” Sebastian smacked your back and began walking away without a second word. Your mouth was almost on the ground. You would kill him if he didn’t kill you with his comments first.
Things had turned back to normal after your little moment. Well as normal as it could be. The comments he made still lived in the back of your head and got louder as you tried to sleep at night.
You had tossed and turned in bed for what felt like hours, dirty thoughts of Sebastian plaguing away. His large and calloused hands making their way down your body. His broad chest caging you against the bed as his fingers yanked at your undergarments. God was it insufferable. You finally got up and looked around the room for your bag. You desperately needed release or something to take your mind off the impurities of Sebastian.
Perfect.
Your hand pulled at your book and you settled down into bed again. It couldn’t hurt to finish the novel and at least there was no prying eyes while you were alone.
There was a bang against the door waking you up from your much needed sleep. You raised your head from the comfort of your pillows with a loud groan hoping it was enough to get whoever it was to go away.
“Sebastian has been annoying the shit out of me for hours, Y/N. I cannot take him for much longer and he has been begging for you. Can you please come take care of your boyfriend?” Imelda’s voice echoed through the dorm halls.
“He isn’t my boyfriend!” You moaned as you got up to get dressed. Leave it to Sebastian to keep you up all night and wake you up early.
“Yeah and I’m not good at Quidditch! Just keep him out of my sight!” She barged away, a few profanities leaving her mouth.
You begrudgingly made your way through the halls of the common room to be met with the puppy dog eyes of your best friend.
“Y/N finally! I was starting to think you’d never wake up!” Sebastian automatically took your arm in his and led you over to one of the empty couches.
“Wish I hadn’t. Wouldn’t have to deal with your ugly face then.” Sebastian mocked offense and rolled his eyes.
“Whatever you say. I have a busy day planned for us.”
The boy went over his need for a few potion ingredients, something about losing a bet with Ominis and how you would accompany him to Hogsmeade. You just nodded along, half asleep as he continued to dawdle.
“So then when I get that all done- Y/N are you even listening to me?” His hand shook at your form and you rubbed at your eyes.
“Yeah, your potion for Ominis and everything. I got it Seb. Let’s just get it over with.” You stretched and motioned for him to get walking.
“Jeez, someone didn’t sleep well. Nothing a few butterbeers can’t cure though.”
Half of the day you spent standing behind as Sebastian bought things. He even went and bought a few new sweaters with your ‘much needed approval’ as he put it. It was quite funny seeing him strike a pose or two whenever he tried on a new outfit. In your mind though Sebastian was handsome enough to pull off a garbage bag if he wanted to.
“Now we can go get those much earned butterbeers.” His cheery disposition made you grin as he tugged you along to the Three Broomsticks. You two quickly made your way over to ‘your table’.
“Oh if it isn’t trouble. I was starting to miss you two.” Sirona plopped down two butterbeers and grinned. “On the house today.” She walked away as you both spouted your thanks and got to drinking.
“Today wasn’t too bad was it?” Sebastian asked.
His hair was a bit askew and his new green sweater made his eyes blend with the caramel color of the drink. He was absolutely breathtaking.
“Yeah, not too shabby. You like pulling me around?” You joked. Sebastian’s fingers brushed against yours on the table and he sent you a look you had never seen before.
“Oh trust me there’s a few other things I’d like to pull you into.”
Your mouth went agape and it felt like you had just walked across hot coals.
“You-”
Sirona interrupted the two of you with a smack to the table.
“The two of you best leave, have to close early I’m afraid. One of my dear friends fell ill.”
Your brain had barely processed the words before the two of you were being shooed out the door and Sebastian was walking you back to the castle.
“She was in a rush. I’ve never seen her so concerned. I hope everything will be alright.” Sebastian filled the empty void with words but you couldn’t pay attention. The heat along your core still flamed as you took each step. How much longer was he going to keep up this charade?
You were having a major sense of deja-vu. Your eyes circled the drapes of your bed as your thoughts ran wild with Sebastian. Again. A plan had to be made because there was no way you could continue to be in his presence with the comments and tension. Would you tell him your feelings? No. Could you flirt back? Not to save your life. Whatever could you do.. You punched your pillow in defeat and got up looking for your book. You rummaged through your bag when something caught your eye. There was a book in there that hadn’t belonged to you. You brought it into the light and your soul left your body.
It was a scandalous novel. A new one that you had not yet read or bought. You peeled the cover open and a card dropped into your lap.
‘You don’t need to read these sinful books to get what you’re looking for. Although it was quite hot to see you do such a lewd thing right in front of me. You’ve got balls. Enjoy this one, yeah? Maybe we can even act it out once you’re done.’
If it was possible to die of embarrassment you would already be ten feet underground. Sebastian had caught you that night and enjoyed it. Who knew how long he had sat there and watched you squirm as you read the words. Not only that but he had the gall to buy you another and write such a cheeky note. Your body hummed with electricity at the thought of reenacting such stories with Sebastian.
You had a book to read.
You practically ran down the corridor stairs in the morning. You had come up with a perfect plan to corner him in his own game. Your mouth formed into a devious grin as you spotted Sebastian. Slowly, you approached him and ran your finger over the back of his neck. His eyes raised and his cheeks were dusted with a sheen of rose. You gave him a casual smile and sat down.
“Morning Seb. Any plans for today?” You asked as you laid your legs across his lap and stretched your back revealing just a tiny bit of your stomach. His grip on your thighs got just a tad tighter.
“I-Uh no. You have anything in mind?”
“Quite a few things actually. You game?” You rubbed at his hand, attempting to connect the dots with his freckles. You could hear his uneven breathing from the other side of the couch and that only fed into your newfound confidence. You tapped against his hand again.
“I said are you game or not?” Your voice commanded and his hues widened like saucers.
“Of course. When would I not be?” He exasperated and dug his nails harder into your flesh.
“Mm.. good boy. That’s what I thought. Come on then.” You couldn’t help but chuckle as you heard the tiny gasp leave his mouth. It wasn’t even seconds before he was in tow following you like a mother hen.
You cackled silently to yourself when you made your way to the front door of the Great Hall and turned. Sebastian had never looked so confused nor dissatisfied in his life.
“I’m starving!” You made your way down to your usual seats and watched as his sulky attitude got worse. His grip on his poor spoon would soon break it if he wasn’t careful.
“Your plans are to eat? That’s it?” His voice was deep and annoyed, dark eyes following the movement of your lips. Seeing him like this made you uncomfortable. Not in a bad way of course, but more so extremely turned on.
“Yeah? Like I said I was hungry. Thought we could go out and play gobstones-“
“You think you’re fucking funny?” His grip was suddenly not on the spoon but your shoulder, lips lingering on your ear.
“I think I’m fucking hilarious.” You whispered under your breath. That was obviously the wrong move because he ripped at your shoulder, practically dragging you out of the hall.
“Fucking brat. Think you’re funny. I’ll show you fucking funny.” Sebastian grumbled as he shoveled you down the Undercroft stairs. Your core clenched at his snide remark and part of you hoped that he really was angry. Maybe he would finally stop dancing around the subject of you two.
Sebastian’s hand pushed you against a pillar as the other slammed next to your head. He had perfectly sandwiched you beneath him, his dark eyes watching your every move.
“Not talking much anymore, are you?” His breath danced against your face, nose nudging against yours.
“Kiss me already.” You groaned and Sebastian took action. His mouth was everywhere at once. Dangerous kisses were pressed against your neck and jawline, his teeth rubbing against the flesh enough to leave red marks. He moved slowly as if you were prey, his eyes watching the way you squirmed under his gaze.
“You’re lucky I want to kiss you. I wouldn’t be giving you it so easily otherwise.” His face melted into your own, tongue prodding its way into your cavern. His hands roamed your body earnestly pulling at almost anything he could touch. Your whole body was jolting from the little touches, feeling as though he had made you anew.
“Seb-” You moaned as his hands ran beneath your shirt. It was tantalizing the way he rubbed the plush of your stomach, eyes pleading you to take off the garment. You could only nod in consent before he had thrown it halfway across the room. His hues took your form in, tongue wetting his lips.
“You’re fucking beautiful. I’m going to ruin you.” His hands worked at the hooks of your bra and he raised an eyebrow in confirmation. You don’t know where the sudden confidence came surging from but you moved his hands and trailed it slowly down your body. Part of you wanted to hide but it was too late for that. He had already seen you and besides, you had been imagining this for quite some time.
“God. Look at you.” Sebastian shoveled his hair back and dove in. His lips circled your nipple, teeth tugging at it just enough to make you yap.
“Fuck! Sebastian please.” Your nails dug into his shoulders as he continued to lap and massage your tits. He looked absolutely sinful making eye contact with you from such an angle.
“Please what? Tell me what you want.” His hand came down to slap your tit and an equally evil grin appeared as he heard your moan.
“P-Please. Put your hands on me.” Wanton moans passed your lips as he continued to indulge in his pleasures.
“My hands are already on you. See?” You could practically see his ego soaring as he kneaded your breasts.
“More.”
“More? Aren’t you demanding?” Sebastian mocked as his fingers trailed your waistband. He pulled at the soft material and danced on a fine line of barely touching you. He was slow and agonizing as he pulled at the buttons of your skirt, continuously glancing to watch your reactions.
“Sebastian, please. I need you.” Your fingers fumbled with the buttons of his shirt getting even more agitated by the second. His hands swatted yours away and quickly stripped away the cloth.
“You’re a greedy little thing. I swear I could’ve thought you were teasing me not even ten minutes ago. Now I have you pliant and needy. Should I really give you what you want?”
Your hands splayed against his bare chest and there was nothing more you wanted to do than to be one with him. A sudden primal desire to be as close as humanly possible and feel his muscles convulse against you. You knew that Sebastian wanted to hear you beg and you would give him whatever he wanted.
“Please. I’m begging you. I’ll be good.” You choked back a moan as Sebastian ripped your outfit off at the seams. Your underwear and skirt pulled away in one swift move and his hands rubbed deliciously at your inner thighs.
“Gonna be my good girl, Y/N? Gonna give me what I’ve been craving?” Sebastian hovered his hand over your core for a few seconds to let his words seep in. Your body yearned for his touch and you couldn’t help the way you bucked into him.
“Yes! I’ll be your good girl.” You practically yelled as his fingers finally dipped through your folds. He hummed in response and leaned back in to kiss you. His teasing had come to a stop when you felt his first digit slowly push into your heat.
“Oh fuck!” Your head fell against the pillar and your arms shook against his back.
“You’re so fucking tight. I can’t wait to be inside of you.” Sebastian began plunging in and out, his pace brutal. You had thanked Merlin that Ominis was busy because you were sure anyone coming near the Undercroft entrance could hear your screams. You could feel the string in your stomach becoming tighter by the second and Sebastian noticed too. He picked up the pace and added another digit making your eyes cross.
“Who makes you feel like this?” Sebastian grunted as his thumb rubbed at your nub pushing you even closer to the edge. Your hands gripped to his form for dear life as your orgasm finally hit.
“You! Fucking hell. Sebastian, all you!” Your head rested against his shoulder as he continued to pump his fingers in and out to prolong your high.
He gave you a few seconds before withdrawing his fingers and bringing them up to his lips. If you hadn’t just came you were sure you would’ve from the sight alone.
“You’re ridiculous.” You whispered as he pushed his boxers down and his hard cock slapped against his stomach. The sight alone made you drool.
“It’s all your fault.” Sebastian chuckled and swiped his fingers across your slit. You jolted in his hold and watched him in a trance as he used your slick to pump his cock. You had never seen a more erotic view in your life.
“I’m gonna fuck the life out of you now. Okay?” Sebastian’s words knocked any air out of your lungs. He was so vulgar and yet you felt yourself convulsing around nothing, wishing for nothing more than to be pummeled by the man.
A small please passed your lips before he was frenzied. He snapped his hips into yours, not even waiting for you to adjust as he got to work. It felt as if you were a rag doll being thrown around with the animalistic pace he set. Every spot within you was on fire and if it kept it up you would explode.
“F-Fuck Seb! So good.” Your back knocked against the pillar as he groaned.
“Fuck yeah. Only I can make you feel like this.” His grip was sure to leave bruises. Not that you really minded. If anything it only added to your pleasure.
“I can feel you tightening princess. Is the little slut gonna cum again?” His wicked words made you gasp and lose your composure. Your body shook as you came, Sebastian still impaling you on his cock in search for his high. You could tell he was close from his unintelligible groans and praises.
“Fuck! Good girl. Take it.” Sebastian’s dark eyes closed shut as he leaned his head onto you. His hot seed filled you up and the only sound in the room was your heavy breathing.
Sebastian pulled out of your wet heat, both of you whining in the process. His eyes shot up to yours and he grinned.
“That was so fucking good. I’ve wanted that for so long.”
You could only laugh and nod in agreement.
“Me too. Does that mean we’re done with the charade of being best friends?” You looked around the room for your top as he hummed.
“Yeah. Reckon my girlfriend deserves a proper date now.”
“I would sure hope so after getting my brains fucked out!”
Laughter filled the Undercroft as the two of you redressed. Maybe you would read more dirty literature in the halls if it led to this.

♡ Soon Darling ♡
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Pairing: Yandere!Wanda Maximoff x Witch!Reader
TW: Stalking, Badly portrait witchcraft, bad grammar, and mentioning of death and cancer
Something has been following me for the past months. I never saw the person but I just know it's there. It's been freaking me out so I stayed at my friend's house for the last few weeks after not feeling safe alone anymore. Sometimes I get these visions of someone whispering stuff in my ears that I can't seem to understand and them caressing their hands gently over my shoulder. It's been happening more in the last weeks. And this night I heard what the person was saying "Soon we will be together again. Soon darling".
I've been telling myself that i'm just going insane but I can't convince myself to believe this anymore. My Mom was a witch she teached me the basics of witchcraft until she past away a few years ago due to cancer. That's why I now only live with my dad, he works in a office so he's away most of the time so I learned to take care of myself. I am now at my house. My friend drove me here so I can get some things like clothes and other stuff. When my mom died she left me a box of her belongings, she told me to open it when i'm 18. My birthday is tomorrow so I am already taking it with myself. Then I grabbed some more stuff I needed and my friend and I drove back to her house. Her Mom and my Mom have been friends since middle school so we went to her house often and me and Victoria got friends quickly. Her mom is also a witch and she is too. "Are the visions getting worse again?" She asked while driving. "Yes, I can't really get sleep anymore. I'm scared. I think we should really do that spell you wanted to do." I said. Victoria advised to put a protection spell over me so no magical being could get to me or reach out to me.
When arriving at her house we immediately got everything ready to do the spell. I lighten the candles while she is pouring holy water around the circle to shield it from any bad spirits. When practising the spell I could feel something inside of me fighting to stay inside of me. It's trying to take over me. It's stronger than anything I have ever fought. The earth started to shake, we started to levitate and my friend was continuing. After what felt like an eternity I fought it. And we finished the spell. It was like nothing I have ever felt before. I felt so strong. My friend looked at me stunned. "What?" I said confused and giggling. "Your eyes they turned purple. There is only one witch that can do that. The Violet Witch. I thought it was only a myth." She said shocked. The Violet Witch is the strongest witch there is, even stronger than The Scarlet Witch. She died a long time ago but said to return again. So this is now. "No that can't be true the Violet Witch isn't real." I continued talking but then I got an idea. I grabbed the box my mom gave me and opened it. Inside of it were a letter, books and jewelry. I opened the letter and it says:
Dear Y/N,
if you are reading this then I am dead and you are 18 and have to face the truth. All my life I wanted to protect you from your faith but I learned I couldn't. You are the Violet Witch. It might seem scary and hard but you need to face your destiny. In the jewelry box is a necklace out of amethyst and it's for protection it tells you when there is a danger around by changing it's colour to red. The books are magic books they have all the knowledge of witchcraft and magic inside of them. But I know you can't do this alone so I asked a old friend of mine to help you with your journey and finding out everything about your power. Agatha Harkness. She is the only one I could trust with this mission. She is gonna take you today and teach you. I hope you'll find peace with yourself. I will always love you. Stay strong and safe for me.
Mom
I could feel cold tears running down my face while reading this. "What does it say" Victoria asked. "My m-mom... she-" I cried and then I felt warm arms wrapping around me. "It's okay" She said gently. After a few minutes I calmed down so much I could tell her about what was written inside the letter. "Do you know this Agatha Harkness?" she asked her I just shook her head. "Maybe my mom knows her. Come on, let's ask her" She said taking my hand and leading me to her mom inside their living room. We immediately got greeted by her mom with a big smile "Hi Kids. What's up?" "We wanted to ask you if you know a Agatha Harkness?" "No- I don't know her" Her mood seemed to have changed instantly when hearing this question. I knew something was up but I didn't want to bother the woman anymore so I simply said "Okay" and walked out of the room with Victoria to her room again.
"That was weird" she said while sitting down on the bed "I never saw her like that" she continued while fidgeting around with her hairbrush on her bed. "Yeah it was" I answered her. Then I let myself fall on the bed beside her "This is all so crazy. I mean one day you get stalked by some magic being and the next you find out you are an super witch. I don't know how to deal with this" "I know this might seem hard but I will always be there for you." "Thank you Vic. You're the best." I said and then hugged her. I never wanted to let go. It could stay like this forever but I knew it wouldn't. After some time of shit talking and playing games it was time for us to fall asleep. I made myself ready for bed but couldn't sleep the words of the unknown woman still hunting me.
"Soon we will be together again. Soon darling"
I mean what is that even supposed to mean. Again?. I don't even know her. Or do I?
A/N: This is a little different from the normal marvel comics and movies but I hope you don't mind too much. Should I make a part 2?

Round III of Excerpts from The One True School Master of Vault 41
Agatha turned to the Rafal. "Interesting,” she nodded. "I'm sure you don't remember the names of all the masses you've murdered, but tell me, whose face do you see in your nightmares?" she prompted expectantly.
“Rh—h-hACK,” said he, the Evil sorcerer.
“What? Come again?” Agatha prodded all too knowingly as she got to her feet.
Rafal seized up and started to convulse silently. Something was obstructing his airways.
Sophie hopped up from her seat. “Aggie! He’s choking, Aggie!” she squawked.
“Oh! Well, do something then! He’s yours to look after!” Agatha crossed her arms and stared Rafal dead in the eye as he suffocated, daring him to try anything.
“B-but, I don’t know how to—" Sophie’s voice died in her throat as she fluttered her hands in distress. She looked at Agatha in askance. "Would you revive or resuscitate..."
Agatha shook her head stubbornly. She was Sophie's savior and no one else's. On occasion, she would save Tedros, but he usually wouldn't let her save him. "If he dies now, there'll be no one to blame and it'll be of natural causes. And, I'll be doing Tedros a favor by sparing him a heart attack. He's been through so much already, I'm not sure his heart could take another shock, like the one in front of us."
Sophie exhaled, ready to blow up, flustered and red. She could barely get words out, and froze in place. Her ribcage throbbed with panic, like she’d swallowed her heart whole.
She turned to Kiko, next, to seek help, but found that Kiko was gone! Sophie hadn’t noticed that the Evergirl, the only one she could expect a scrap of human decency from had fled from the table!
Turning bluer by the second, Rafal stopped clutching his throat.
He stood up abruptly, chair scraping the glass floor as it skidded back with a screech. He motioned with his hands to signal to the girls that they didn’t have to intervene, dismissing them.
Gripping the table, he leaned on it, bent over its edge, and thrust his fists against his diaphragm hard, dislodging what had caught in his throat.
A saliva-coated coin of cucumber shot out of his windpipe and hit Agatha squarely in the eye.
Sophie sagged in relief.
The slice of cucumber slid down Agatha’s cheek leaving a trail of spittle. “Well, that’s settled,” she griped sullenly. She flumped down on her seat cushion again, long, rangy limbs askew. “Too bad you’re alive.”
“Too bad indeed. For you,” Rafal smirked, stretching his tensed jaw so it clicked.
Agatha winced. “After yet another run-in with death, you’re still here. Guess my luck’s run dry for good. Will Lady Fortune ever be on my side?”
“Not if you don’t cease with the complaining,” he taunted, “If only I could stretch you beneath her wheel, but alas… I’m beholden to your dear friend.”
“Enough,” Sophie boomed as she slammed her hands on the glass table. The table shuddered, and the filigree bone china jittered as several serving dishes clinked together.
Agatha and Rafal swiveled to look at her.
“That’s it,” Sophie fumed, “I’ll put up with none of this infantile bickering while I’m present. You two must learn to cooperate. I know you don’t trust him, Agatha, darling, and admittedly, I don’t either, but I think he’s trying, at the very least, to be helpful, so be civil. The same goes for you as well, Rafal. At least try to look contrite. And remember: my say is final.”
All three fell silent for a moment.
"If you actually were wondering,” Rafal told Agatha, "The answer is Rhian. His face has haunted my dreams every night since he died.”
[Note: A lot comes to pass between these two scenes, so don’t expect them to be perfectly chronological. I just thought the shift could be fun to see.
And, this second section takes place earlier on in the plot by the way. We're nowhere near the climax with these two excerpts.
Also, watch what you think, Agatha. Some dreadful irony will come back to bite you, and everyone to be fair.
Oh, and did anyone catch the Shakespeare reference?]
Good's glass walls beamed back the moonlight like searchlights spilling from the columns. The walls were truly a spectacular sight, the mazes of halls all illuminated in silver.
Yet beauty and brilliant lighting do not the optimum conditions for breaking and entering make.
Every polished facet contained Agatha’s reflection, exposing her in her black robes. And, she was well-aware of this disadvantage, but she would never be able to slip away during the day, so night it was.
She rounded the bend and her spine prickled with the familiar sensation of being watched.
After her run-in with Professor Anemone, she now roamed the halls with much less fear. This time, she encountered a different petrified faculty member. Pollux.
She reached up and knocked lightly at the space between his eyes. Nearly soundlessly, it echoed, muffled by his thick-skulled, furred brow.
Just what she’d thought, he had nothing but a load of fluff in there. Agatha laughed to herself.
The labyrinthine glass breezeways, went winding and overlapping every which way, breathtaking in their complexity, but Agatha had discovered that no matter which corridor she turned into, the swathes of friezes lining the walls would direct her, pointing her in the same direction, hopefully the right direction.
The pearlescent friezes were inlaid with nacre, and they cast ribboned, iridescent rainbows when it was day. Though now, they gleamed a dim silver.
There they were, the figures frozen in motion, a goose girl’s tresses, a farm lad’s cap blown in the wind, trees doubled over, all bowing to the same current.
Certainly, they had been revised, but by whom?
All in one, singular direction they went, one after another in a sundry procession: fairy godmothers’ crystalline wands, soldiers’ spears, kings’ scepters, shamans’ pipes and tapering beards, Seers’ gazes, wizards’ staffs, fair maidens’ dismembered, white fingers, birds’ beaks, mermens’ tridents, agrarians’ pitchforks, crowds’ pennants, jousters’ lances, heraldic banners fluttering aloft, sylphs’ wispy tails, cupids’ arrows, and quixotic princes’ swords.
Agatha could not make heads or tails of these strange alterations to the scenes acting as her guides. They were most probably leading her to her final destination, as if they were conspiring to help her. But her theft would be a far cry from a Good Deed. It breached the Rules.
It was as if the School itself were supporting her theft from it. Or, could it be?
She stopped short.
And a prideful voice projected from somewhere sounded, reverberating through the glass-enclosed tunnel. “Move,” it told her with marked disdain and thinly veiled impatience.
It was coming from the walls, she concluded. Agatha looked about uneasily, thoroughly unsettled, and spun on her heels to face them. The carvings.
She stared intently at the wall closest to her.
A lean, cloaked prince was posed in the midst of slaying a serpentine creature that curled in on itself, swallowing its own tail. It was circular, made of a writhing mass of things.
Agatha shuddered involuntarily as she studied it. The beast’s scales resembled Japeth’s Scims a great deal. All snakes reminded her of Japeth these days. A wyrm, was it? No, it was an ouroboros.
And the prince’s banner, it was a gloomier, storm-cloud grey, silver like the Wish Fish. And it had a swan gracing it, an odd, obsidian piece of glass set into the frieze, looking darker than the rest of the banners. Still, it held gleams of iridescence. It was just duller and darker in finish than the other coats of arms. Almost, just almost, Evil’s banner.
The prince turned to her from his carved position, pointed his sword ahead and glared right at her. His swan crest blinked and seemed to glare down at her as well.
“Move, you imbecile,” said a cold, villainous, not particularly princely voice from the carved figure. “We don't have all night.”
Agatha stared dumbfounded.
"Yes, it's me,” Rafal’s voice seethed. “And I can't hold them frozen forever. So, go.”
Agatha stepped away from the wall, and proceeded down the last few lengths of the hall.
No, impossible. Rafal helping her was impossible, she thought breathlessly. Laughable. She was tempted to scoff, but held herself back since she didn’t want to take this one-time occurrence for granted.
Rafal. Of course. Always had to represent his own side, she supposed. The depraved madcap. Couldn’t masquerade as Good for a day, could he? If he had to be Good, he’d croak. She was sure of it. There wasn’t a single thing in these green Woods he could do to repent, help or no help. Not a thing.
He always had to be so maddeningly obvious about his darker, murderous instincts. His cold voice had been a dead giveaway. Even Sophie was subtler. And Sophie, subtle? No chance of it! He was just worse by comparison, that was all.
All the doom and gloom and the no-nonsense demeanor, it got tiring after a while. Christ, had she been like that before?
Agatha had masqueraded as a witch her whole life and look where it had gotten her. Just once, she wished she could see him beaten down and forced to act a harder role. Imagine, him, dealt a harder role to play. Like hers.
Had he ever been oppressed in his life? He was an oppressor! Well, Evil had been oppressed, but that was his own doing. He’d brought the curse upon himself by slaughtering his own brother!
You could do anything while Evil. But Good came with restrictions. The Nevers were freer, truly. They didn’t chastise bad manners and loud chewing. Well, Rafal seemed to, for Sophie’s sake. But Agatha knew most Nevers wouldn’t care a jot about tea party etiquette.
So long Rafal and thanks for all the help. I hope you wind up dead.
She had the urge to look back, but nevertheless, she turned away from the carved prince as he took up his sword and animatedly resumed fighting his battle with the ouroboros, blade clashing against scales, as if he were fighting his own violent rebirth.
Agatha was certain that this robbery wasn’t exactly the sort of cooperation Sophie had in mind, but it would have to do. It was the most they could muster up. And what did it matter now?
She gripped the crystal knob to Professor Dovey's office and turned it. Locked. Drat!
Then, she heard a clink and something pin-like skidded across the floor. The carved prince’s tiny sword.
She inserted it into the lock, and silently thanked Rafal. Maybe, he wasn’t so corrupt after all.
She tucked the sword into her pocket, and tentatively entered Professor Dovey’s office. She didn’t look back at the frieze, now converted into an ivory scene of bloodshed instead of victory. Nor did she catch sight of the tiny prince being disemboweled by the ouroboros, gutted through the gaps of the plating in his armor, leaking entrails, and succumbing to a theatrical “death” without his tiny sword.
The miniature black swan banner finally tipped and sank with a metallic clank, fluttering up like a flag of surrender before it settled on the ground.
After he was “killed,” Rafal exited the wall. A decent practice session in dying, he thought. Though it wasn't quite right. And being eviscerated wasn't a pleasant way to go, he found. He mentally crossed that method off his list.
The frieze reverted back to a prince frozen in the motion of slaying the ouroboros once again, banner branded with a white swan, as if Rafal had never been there at all.

Chapter 20 - Part XX - Agatha's Memories (Part Two)
You don’t sleep for long, there is a sound of something breaking that makes you blink confusedly as you move on your bed.
Then you realize that it is the wood up your head that is moving, along with a red magic that you know very well.
You look forward, only to find Wanda with an impassive look on her face as she merges the bed into one.
“I’m sleeping with you from now on.” She says simply as she finishes, and you lay back on the mattress, not sure of what to say about that.
You hold your breath as you hear her taking off her shoes, changing to her pajamas next, staring on the roof of the tent as she does it.
She pulls the blanket to lie down, and then is mimicking your position.
"Would...would it be okay if I hugged you?" she asks after a moment, and you feel your heart race.
"I'd like that." You mumble clumsily, turning to the opposite side.
And it takes half a second for Wanda to wrap her arms around your waist, burying her face in your shoulders, inhaling your perfume and making you blush heavily.
Your legs entwine from underneath the comforter, and you feel more secure than you ever have before.
"I'm sorry." She murmurs against your skin. You think she is talking about what happened with the horcrux, and you just nod softly, but she repeats the apology against your ear, intertwining her hands in front of your belly, and you realize she is talking about everything.
"I love you." She confesses next, and you feel your eyes fill with tears.
The hug gets tighter, and you sink your face into the pillow, allowing yourself to cry.
And Wanda doesn't let go, even when you sob, and it takes a while, but you finally fall asleep. And when you do, she stays.
//-//-//-//
You woke up first. And you don’t wanna get up. Not when you have Wanda wrapped around you like this, your face buried her neck, as you both turned around during the night, and now your legs are completely entwined, and you are practically lying on top of her.
And all you do is sink even deeper against her body, sighing against her skin. She smells so good.
"-morning." She whispers hoarsely, still with her eyes closed, her hands around your body moving slowly against your back down and up, and you just murmur into her skin wishing you could stay in that moment forever.
"We should get up." Wanda says after a moment in silence, not seeming to really wish to do so.
"No, thank you." You retort and your voice comes out muffled against her neck, the vibration making her laugh.
"We need to darling, I think we have some lessons. "She says and you mumble softly, the curiosity to pursue the story Agatha was telling is enough to make you pull away.
But when you are about to let go of Wanda, she pulls on your forearm, and you look at her with confusion, but she moves forward and kisses you firmly.
It's slow, and soft. It makes you sigh, so you kiss her back, sinking right back onto the bed as her hands wrap around your hair to deepen the kiss.
When her tongue asks for passage, you see stars, melting under her touch. Wanda smiles against your lips, pulling you by the shoulders to lie on top of her.
But before you can do so, the sound of footsteps catches your attention, along with a soft hiss, and you grumble before pulling away.
Throwing your face back into the pillow, you try to calm your breathing and rapid heartbeat as Agatha strolls through the tent, until she comes to your room.
"Are the sleeping beauties going to get up, or should I bring coffee in bed?" She teases with her arms crossed as Wanda hides her smile as she notices your state. "You two know this isn't a honeymoon trip, right?"
"Stop being so bitter, Agatha." Wanda complains as she sits up. "We'll be right there."
"And a good day to us, ladies." The older witch retorts before leaving.
Wanda laughs softly, turning her attention back to you as you scramble up on the bed to sit down as well.
"How are you?" she asks, intertwining your hands on top of the mattress, and you let your gaze roam over her face, biting your lips against the urge to kiss her again.
"Fine." You murmur half hoarsely, from sleep or lust, Wanda will never know. "And you?"
"Better." She says with a nod, and you feel your heart race. Better with you here.
Wanda squeezes your hand before letting go, and she stands up, looking at you one last time before walking off toward the bathroom.
You sigh as you throw yourself back against the mattress, trying to push away the feeling of her tongue against yours and focus on the fact that you were even closer to completing your mission with one less horcrux to destroy.
//-//-//-//
“Where are we now?” You asked as you observed the surroundings. It’s the entrance of an old garage, in the corner of a city. But the real Agatha ignores your question as she guides you two inside, further into the memory.
Your dad, just a teen boy, maybe eighteen, is inside, working on a large machine, it seems that he was really a muggle mechanic, since there were cars all around, dismantled or not.
"Stark." It is Agatha from the memories who says, and startles your father slightly, who almost drops the screwdriver. But when he looks up, he smiles.
"Professor Harkness!" He says getting up, and wiping the grease on his apron quickly before greeting her. "You really did it!"
"I told you I would come." She says, and you are surprised at the affectionate way she looks at your father, "Look at you, Howard, you're so grown up."
Your father laughs, bowing his head softly. "Thank you, professor."
"I only say that because I've known you since you were a child." She humorously clarifies. "And now you are even growing a mustache. Tell me, do muggle girls like that sort of thing?"
Your father laughs with flushed cheeks, and Agatha follows him. Before they can say anything, there are voices and the sound of footsteps approaching, and soon, two people enter.
Wanda chokes softly next to you. "Mama."
You also recognized Magda, because you have seen pictures before. She had the same appearance as in the photos, and you were saddened by this, because she must have died not so long after this memory.
Erik stood beside her, wearing muggles like the woman next to him.
"Professor Harkness, you made it!" He greets politely, hurrying to shake the witch's hand as she smiles. "It's so good to see you again! This is Magda, my wife."
"It's a pleasure, dear."
The memory speeds up, you want to fight Agatha for cutting off Wanda's moment of seeing her mother properly, but the way Wanda strokes her thumb against your hand makes you give up saying anything.
The scene settles down in what you think is the apartment at the top of the garage where they were, all around a table, drinking beers.
"You guys know why I came all this way, don't you?" Agatha says, and seems to have just had a short pause in the conversation, as if everyone had been laughing before and suddenly got quiet. And the tension only increases with her comment.
Her father sighs, nodding. "There is no daily prophet here, but I have met some travelers. They are talking about a war, Agatha." He says worriedly. "But I want to hear it from you. Do you really think that could happen?"
Agatha gives a humorless laugh. "It's already happening." She says, placing her beer on the table, and straightening her posture. "The minister of magic waited too long. And now, this group, these so-called death walkers, or whatever ridiculous name they are thinking of trying, are everywhere. In the ministry, in the diagonal alley, in the Order."
Your father looks really upset, but you notice how uncomfortable Erik looks.
"And do you really think that's what they're after, Agatha?" He asks. "War. Do you think that's what the walkers are after?"
The teacher raises her eyebrow slightly. "What else could it be, besides chaos and complete destruction of our society, Erik?"
His former teacher is unaffected by the snickering, he just gives a half-hearted laugh. " Well, freedom of course." He says, clearing his throat softly. "See, that time we've been here. New York is fascinating. Things are bad for muggles it's true, but for the rest of us, damn. The wizards are doing just fine. They have so much magic here, so much freedom to study what they want. The ministry encourages the discovery of new areas, gives financial support to researchers!"
Agatha crosses her legs, listening to Erik's speech carefully.
When he realizes that he may be defending Mephisto's group too much, he pauses, straightening up. "I'm just trying to say that maybe a change in the British government is exactly what our society needs to evolve, Agatha."
"You know, when Fury told me he wanted to recruit you boys to the order, I told him that children don't fight wars." She declares and you see the boys widen their eyes. "You two know that Katherine is dead, right? That Nick took over leadership of the order in his mother's place, and the first names he wanted were yours."
Your father nods, as does Erik.
"Well, I didn't agree." She says. "I said I knew other wizards, more experienced, more trustworthy. Wizards who didn't flee their homeland to live the American dream."
"That's not-" Your father begins but the look in Agatha's eyes makes him shut up.
"Nick insisted that I come here." She continues. "He said that you have kept in touch by correspondence, and that you continue to have the same, what was the word, moral inclination. But now I wonder if he was really right about that."
"I didn't mean to say that the walkers are right!" Erik exclaims defensively, looking embarrassed, but Agatha just smiles.
"Don't worry, honey." She says as she leans in. "I think that kind of moral difference is exactly what makes this whole conflict interesting."
"That's sadistic of you, Agatha." Howard comments seriously. "We're talking about a war."
"Don't be hypocritical now, Howey." She retorts with a wicked smile. "You think I don't know who the travelers you've been talking to are? Say, the magical trafficking laws are simpler in America, aren't they?"
Your father locks his jaw, but keeps his face up.
"I did what I needed to do to survive here." He says simply, and Agatha laughs.
"Of course you did." She says. "So did we all. And now we have a potential battle ahead of us, something that could change the course of wizarding life for future generations. Tell me, do you intend to stand here fixing machines and pretending that your friends are not dying for your freedom? And I thought you were tired of this kind of attitude, golden boy."
Your father stands up, enraged. But he says nothing, and swallows his pride. He gives Erik one last look before leaving the room.
Agatha sighs softly, turning her attention back to Erik, who has his fists clenched in his lap.
"You know very well that the situation is not so simple." He says and Agatha smiles.
"And you know it's him don't you?" She retorts and Erik clenches his jaw.
"I don't know what you're talking about."
"I think you know very well, Erik." Agatha insists. "When I fired him, he didn't stay in England. He came to America with his favorite student."
"Keep your voice down." Erik quickly retorts, looking back a moment before leaning forward. "It's not what you think."
"But I don't think anything." She says. "I'm exactly giving you the chance to explain yourself, before I draw my own conclusions."
Erik takes a deep breath, and turns to Magda, squeezing her hands.
"Honey, can you give us a minute?" He asks, and Wanda's mother looks like she's going to say no, before nodding.
She walks off in the same direction as her father, and then Erik and Agatha are alone.
"Professor Faustus has asked me for support, Agatha." He says. "He was out of a job, and with his name tainted with rumors that no one has proven. And he never treated us badly, so I helped him."
"You kept this from Howard? I thought you were best friends." Agatha teases but Erik laughs humorlessly.
"Of course not." He says. "Who do you think paid for the tickets?"
"Interesting." She says. "Why tickets?"
"Because he was being investigated for the dark magic rumors." Erik says. "The ministry put a blocker on him. Any magic he tried to do would go straight to the minister's notes. And well, he needed Howey's help to remove the device from behind his neck."
"While he was hiding, I imagine he told you about his wonderful ideas."
"No, Agatha." He says. "Faustus just looked tired. And he felt betrayed, mostly by you. But in general, he complained, and studied. Howey and I would work all day, and he would stay in his room, among the magic books, unable to conjure anything, not even a light spell. I've never seen him so frustrated."
"I'd feel sorry for him, if that wasn't his fault." Agatha murmurs and Erik sighs in agreement.
"A few months after we arrived, Howey got it." Erik recounts. "Tivan gave him the materials he needed, and he freed Faustus from the blocking device in his skin. He thanked us, said he'd write, and then disappeared. We never heard from him again, but the letters from Fury started coming in the next months."
"Did Howard suspect?"
"No." Erik says squirming uncomfortably in his chair. "Howard trusted him, mostly because of the way he stood up for him in school. About supporting him to study mechanics, even if no one else would. But I knew I had to be smart after what happened with Raven."
"He tried to recruit you?"
Erik sighs. "No, Agatha. But he will."
"I know." She says. "That's why I came."
" I should have guessed that you don't make friendly visits, even to your best students."
Agatha laughs softly, leaning her arm on the carpet. "You think just because you can conjure a patronus you're my best student, Erik? I helped establish the order of merlin. You are not even remotely the most talented wizard I have taught."
"You are hurting my feelings." The man jokes, making the other woman smile.
"How will this work then, Erik?" She asks. "Are you going to accept Fury's offer? Or will you follow your heart?"
The man smiles, standing up. "That just concerns me, and my wife, don't you think?"
"Actually, no." Agatha retorts without sounding angry as Erik moves to collect the beer bottles and put them in the trash. "In fact, I think you even need to leave her."
Erik laughs in confusion. "Excuse me?"
"A muggle, Erik." She says as if it's obvious. "You're going to drag her into a war? That's cruel."
"Magda is stronger than you imagine."
"I'm sure she is." The witch says getting up as well. "But that is until she is hit by the first spell."
“Agatha, please.”
“Muggles can't handle magic like we can, Erik." She insists seriously. "You know that. A simple stupefy could kill her."
"I love her." He says turning away. "And I'm not going to England without her. If she decides to stay, then I will too."
"That's disappointing." Agatha comments, but Erik doesn't flinch, crossing his arms. The witch sighs. "Then do me a favor. Howard, at least he, needs to go. We can't afford to lose allies."
"I'll talk to him." Erik assures. "But you know that with all that his father has done, he doesn't want to go back to London anytime soon."
"This is so much bigger than a family feud." Agatha retorts. "Tell him that, and he'll feel guilty enough to accept it."
"Your mind games are wicked, professor." Erik says before nodding in agreement, leaving.
Agatha sighs, getting pensive.
Just then Magda walks back into the room.
"Miss Harkness?"
"Hello, dear."
"I just came to ask if you're going already? Erik looked upset, but I can walk you to the door. It's good manners."
The memory shakes until they are outside, and Magda leads her to the same place she should have appeared before.
"Please, before you go, may I ask you something?"
"Of course, sweetie."
Magda hesitates, but takes a deep breath and says. "If Erik stays, what are the chances of this war reaching us?"
Agatha looks at the woman for a moment. "I don't think there is a way to escape what is happening in England, Magda. And if we lose, it's not just the witches who will suffer the consequences."
Magda nods in understanding, then steps forward. "Tell me how I can help you."
"He wouldn't approve, but I can't watch everything fall apart around us. Tell me how I can help."
Agatha smiles, touching Magda's shoulder. You hold your breath, as does Wanda, who also notices the magic in the witch's fingertips, and the purple color in her eyes.
"Leave him, dear." She says. "But it needs to be natural, okay? As best as I can, he must not suspect it was my idea. Erik would never put you in danger, but he wouldn't leave you alone either. So you need to end it all."
Magda has tears in her eyes, but she just nods mechanically. And the memory becomes blurred.
Wanda is tense beside her, and you are silent.
"That doesn't make sense." You mutter. "Carol told me that Magda was in Sokovia, and that-"
"She's not my mother, is she?" Wanda cuts you off, looking at the floor. The real Agatha sighs, as you look at the two in confusion.
"How could you tell?" She asks.
"I don't have her eyes."
It was a funny detail about the few pictures of Magda that Erik had in the Maximoff house. All the pictures were old, because they were from muggles. And they were never sharp enough in detail, just good enough for you to be able to recognize the woman in the recollection.
Agatha laughs softly. "Is that all Erik told you about your mother? That you had her eyes?"
Wanda squeezes your hand, and with the other she wipes her cheek.
"Just show me the truth at once, Agatha."
"As you wish."
//-//-//
You stumble gently as you get used to the dirt floor that has stabilized at your feet.
"Are you okay?" You whisper to Wanda, but she just nods, smiling weakly before looking back at the memory forming in your eyes.
You were startled by the bright lights in the sky, recognizing them immediately as wandering spells.
Someone just fought here, and it was no small fight.
"Agatha!" Erik shouted, approaching quickly, coming from the corner as if he had been hiding until now, and the teacher had emerged.
Wanda also held her breath as she noticed the large cut on his forehead, the blood dripping down his face.
"T-They've surrounded us..." He says breathlessly, his wand in fists as he stumbles to get closer. "We narrowly won and-"
"Calm down boy." Agatha says as she holds his shoulders, working quickly to heal his wounds. "Where are the others?"
"Further away." Erik replied visuvelmettely exhausted. You could tell he was a little older than the last memory, but he was still young. "Back to the mansion.
"Good, they' ll be safe there." She says as she helps Erik stand properly. "Where's Natalya?"
And Erik chokes, sobbing. You frown in confusion, and Agatha makes a pitying face.
"Oh, Erik."
He cried, shrugging. "She was.... She tried to gain ground. She hit four of them at once. But... But she-"
And he sobbed, and Agatha didn't insist, hugging him.
"I'm sorry, Erik." She whispered.
And the memory trembled until they were back on the mansion's dirt path, almost at the iron driveway, the man visibly calmer, though quite shaken.
"Erik, what about the children?" Agatha asks as she stops walking in front at the gate.
The man looks on the verge of tears again, but only sighs.
"I have no idea, Agatha." He says. "No place is safe in the UK anymore. I can't leave the order to look after them, I don't know what to do."
And Agatha looks at him a moment, before nodding. "I will help you."
You see many flashbacks of memories, Agatha greeting injured order members, then going back to write letters, and checking the news. You think you see flashes of fights too, big duels, before everything stabilizes again.
It's Magda in front of you, and she looks more mature too.
"Years ago, you asked me how I could help you." Agatha spoke behind you, and you startled yourself by jumping to the side, and watching intently as the witch touched Magda's hands. "You saved yourself by leaving him. But you will save his life and the rest of the wizarding world if you accept what I am about to ask of you."
Magda's eyes widened, but she nodded after a moment. Agatha waved her hands, and a cart approached you.
"Run away, Magda." She says. "Their mother had a house, enchanted to protect from invaders on a hill in a small country in Europe." Agatha explains as Magda lets out a surprised exclamation at the babies in the stroller.
"They... are beautiful." She whispers excitedly, touching the children with her fingers, who fall asleep innocently. "What happened, Agatha? Where is Erik?"
"The fight just got bigger, hon." She explains. "Much bigger than we ever expected. Your people are suffering too, but they're saying it's natural disasters."
Magda is shocked, but she speaks again. "Agatha, I am not a witch. I can't protect them."
"That's exactly why you can." Agatha retorts, taking the other woman's hands again. "Go to Sokovia. There are no witch communities there. Hide yourself, hide them. You have no idea how important it is to keep them safe."
"Tell me, then."
Agatha swallows dryly, and looks away from the babies. "It's only a legend, but it could change the fate of this war. The girl, Magda, is a powerful witch. A special kind, like her mother was."
"My god, she's just a child, Agatha."
"That's exactly why she needs to be protected." The witch retorts. " She' s fragile, like a crystal to be stolen. She must not be found, promise me you will protect her."
"I promise." She says nodding, but Agatha sighs, and her eyes turn purple, her grip increases.
"No matter what happens, Magda." She says. "You will protect them, do you understand?"
"Yes."
The memory shakes again, and this time, your father is in front of you, and you hold your breath, shocked to see him so close so suddenly.
“You’re a snake!” He accused angrly, but without any movement, his eyes were serious with his arms crossed.
You turn to realize he was talking to Agatha, in a room that had no windows.
“I was keeping them safe, Howard.” The woman said. “I don’t expect you to understand the feeling of desperation, because you have an armored mansion at your will.”
“You used Erik’s grief to manipulate him into believing in you!” He shouted. “I’m not asking you again, where are his children?”
Agatha laughs softly, looking at your father indignantly.
"Are you listening to yourself, Howey?" she teases. "Erik switched sides, accept that."
"Nat died on our side." He retorts. "She was my friend, my ally. And she trusted us to protect the twins, you had no right to hide them!"
"They are safe!" Agatha retorts, and looks at the man with a warning expression. "And I suggest you stop making such a scandal about it, Howard! You don't want Mephisto to find out about the girl's true nature. We're close enough to defeat already."
"This isn't about that stupid legend-"
"Isn't it?" Agatha interrupts with irony. "Then why only now? It's been weeks since I took them. I know exactly what you want with the twins, Howard. You want to see if it's true, if they really can change the war." She says approaching. "I will clear that up for you then, since you clearly have no knowledge at all on the subject. A scarlet witch is worthless until she reaches maturity. If you try to take the magic from the baby, you'll just get a victim. And I won't allow that to happen."
"I wasn't going to steal the child's magic, Agatha. Who do you think I am?"
"I don't give a damn who you say you are now, Stark." She retorts."Not to you, nor to Erik, who can't make up his mind whose side he's on."
Agatha moves to leave, clearly ending the conversation. But before she leaves, your father calls out to her.
"Why are you so committed to protecting them, Agatha?" He asks.
"Natalya was my family before she was an Auror, Howard."
As Agatha leaves, the memory fades, but you and Wanda are wide-eyed, confused by the latest revision.
And the ground is shaking at your feet, and you are being pulled back into consciousness.
//-/-//-//-//
You awaken last, stretching confusedly away from the tree you had leaned against as you sat on the ground to begin viewing the memories watched with the other women.
Wanda is already getting up, to find Agatha standing peacefully looking at the mountainous landscape ahead.
"So, what are you?" she asks the older witch.
Agatha sighs softly, without looking at Wanda.
"Natalya Maximoff was born in Romania, during the witch revolution in the country." She begins nostalgically, a short smile at the corner of her lips. "I found her shaking like a leaf, less than twelve weeks old inside a box of potatoes."
You are shocked, as is Wanda, but you just listen.
"I think her mother tried to hide her. But she got caught in the middle of it. Romania was in chaos at the time, it was a real bloodbath. "She says. "I was there to fight. The English ministry provided special witches to take on a wizard, known as Kang the Conqueror."
Agatha gives a humorless laugh, sounding upset.
"If you think Faustus is bad, it's because you've never met him." She counters. "He was a master nocramanter. He created an army of the living dead, the inferi. It was the worst fight I've ever been in. But we won, and he was killed. For real this time."
Agatha looked away from the landscape to look at Wanda.
"I bonded with the child, Miss Maximoff." She says. "I could have left her in that box, and gone on my way. But I took her in my arms, and only let her go when she was mature enough for that."
"And then?" Wanda asked with emotion in her voice, looking at Agatha with tears in her eyes.
"I found out that she was a scarlet sorceress, but unlike you, she never completed her forging." The witch says sadly. "She died at the age of 20, a year before she was going to do the spell."
Wanda looks down at her feet, crossing her arms as she absorbs the whole story. Agatha thinks this is a good opportunity to keep talking.
"The war was already over when I found Natalya." She says. "The village where I believe she was born had been destroyed in a shambles. And they put her in the box, while the British aurors were doing the stakeouts. I took her with me, I didn't tell anyone." She recounts. "When she turned eleven, I found out what she was. I taught her everything I could, but I didn't let her go to Hogwarts. I kept her at home, where she wouldn't put the students or herself in danger."
You bite the inside of your cheek, surprised that Agatha was able to hide a daughter. But honestly, it wasn't that shocking.
"When she turned 16, she started rebelling, you know how teenagers are." She says. "She left because she didn't agree with the way I saw the world. And I said I would be waiting for her to come back when she realized that only I could help her."
"But she didn't come back." Wanda completed and Agatha sighed, nodding.
"No, of course not," she says. "She moved to a muggle province, and built a house. And ran away from her fate until her power got too overwhelming."
"Did you look for her?" You ask, and Agatha nods in agreement, turning her gaze to the landscape.
"With the war, I wanted allies." She says. "And I really thought I could get to the house of the daughter I hadn't spoken to in years to ask her to fight for me."
"But she accepted, didn't she?" Wanda says and Agatha sighs.
"On her terms, yes." Answered the woman. "Your mother was a smart girl, Wanda. She made me swear under the best intentions."
And it takes a moment for Wanda to understand what was really being said.
"How?"
Agatha sighs, turning to you again. "I took a perpetual vow to do what was right. What would save lives, what she considered right." She explains. "But contract magic is so encompassing. Especially when you say ambiguous phrases like do the right thing, or stuff like that. That's why I was able to get around the spell so many times. That's why it shaped itself with her death."
"That's why you can't hurt Wanda." You conclude in a sigh.
Agatha nods. "The power of the Scarlet Sorceress has always been tempting. But I would never steal it from Natalya, she was my daughter." She says. "But you were just a student. And I wouldn't mind taking that responsibility out of your hands."
"Not even if I was her daughter?" Wanda asks in a mixture of disgust and indignation, but Agatha only gives a humorless laugh.
"Don't judge me so much." She retorts. "If I didn't care, you wouldn't even be alive. Least of all your girlfriend."
But Wanda steps away, putting herself in front of you.
"You didn't do this because you care." She accuses. "You did it because of the vow. Because you will die if you don't keep your words to her."
"Maybe." She says, shrugging. "But what matters is my actions, not motivations. Actions are all that matter in the end."
"I'm sick of this, Agatha." Wanda retorts indignantly. "You think you can say some philosophical shit and get rid of the things you've done? You manipulated my entire family, and you played with my destiny. I'd rather be alone than around you."
Wanda walks off at a brisk pace, and you follow her, not knowing exactly what to do.
Agatha clenches her jaw, refusing to turn around and apologize.
Wanda begins to pack up very quickly, and you stare wide-eyed as she puts Godric's sword into her purse.
And soon you are outside.
"I told you I wouldn't forgive you if you crossed another line with me." She says. "But I realized that there's nothing more you can do besides all the bad things you've already done."
"If you expect me to apologize for keeping you alive so far, you are deluding yourself." Agatha retorts stubbornly, her arms crossed.
Wanda gives a humorless laugh, her hand interlacing hers. "I don't expect anything from you, Agatha. Even if you think it's the right thing to do, stay away from me. And especially from her."
"As you wish, Miss Maximoff."
You notice the tears in the older witch's eyes before she looks the other way. Wanda turns her face to you next.
“Think of a safe place.” She asks in a whisper, and you nod. It takes a second before everything spins around.

It was the blue box
Always the blue box, I knew what it was, I always will.
The Tardis, the place I started. My home
Pushing its familiar door, a new room greeted me. Warm yellows, tinges of blue. I smile
“Hello darling” I pat the console, ever changing. The Tardis thrums at me touch “Miss me dear?” I laugh .
“Is my husband home?” No response this time. “Ahh he’s out , well that’s to be expected”
A loud clang In the distance, I turn to see what it is coming towards me. A blonde woman , far shorter then myself. “Yazz? Is that you? I didn’t expect you to be back so soon? There was a wasp in the observatory, dastardly things they are. Did I tell about the time I met Agatha Christie? Giant wasp, big as a man I tell you. Very nearly died.”
She hasn’t seen me yet
“ and who the hell are you?” I ask. She freezes finally seeing me. Her mouth agape “River?” She holds a sonic screwdriver. That damn doctor, always losing things.
“You know who I am? What did the doctor tell you? Ugh that man going around the universe yapping his gob. Well I suppose at least you know I’m a woman. He didn’t tell Clara that. Bless, he must like you.”
I move to the woman. Smiling. She hugs me. I wasn’t expecting that I tell you. “River, sweetheart. It’s me, I’m the doctor.” I laugh. “ I’m serious River”
She grabs my shoulders tight, I look into her eyes, thousands of years behind them, so much pain and so much love. I know these eyes just like I know the Tardis. “Doctor? It’s really you? You’re a woman?” I take her in. Odd dress sense, screwdriver got a mouth on her. She really is the doctor .
She grins with her whole face. “Hello Sweetie”

Buzz Kill | Loki x Female Reader
Loki (Marvel) x Doctor Who
Tumblr media
When the Doctor decides to crash a party at a mansion in the 1920s, the last thing you expect it to involve is a murder, a mystery and Agatha Christie.
Part Five | Part Seven | Chapter Index
Words: 6.1k
Warnings: death: minor characters
A/N: This is part one of what was meant to be one whole chapter but due to the length I decided to split it into two separate parts, so I apologise for the abrupt ending. Also Loki is dressed as Thomas Sharpe in this chapter, hence the gif.
Read on AO3
You were currently in the TARDIS wardrobe getting dressed for a 1920s party which Donna and the Doctor had decided to crash. You had picked out an elegant lilac flapper dress, which had layered skirts on the bottom that fell just below your knee, embroidered flowers decorated the left side near your hips, where a velvet plum coloured ribbon was tied loosely. You paired it with some silk champagne coloured gloves which reached your elbow and a band of gemstones wrapped around your head like a crown.
You pushed back the dressing room curtain to find Loki waiting for you with his shoulder lent against the wall and his arms crossed over his chest. His gaze lifted as soon as he heard the hooks of the curtain scrape against the metal bar and he immediately stood to attention as he took in your appearance, while you took in his.
He was dressed lavishly, in a long black velvet coat, over a silk black waistcoat, with a pocket watch and a matching silk ribbon tied into a bow around his neck, which the collar of his white dress shirt barely peaked out of.
“You look ravishing, my dear.” His voice dropped and caused your stomach to flip as he stalked towards you, your feet glued to the spot where his eyes pinned you until his large hands were grasping your by your hips and tugged you close, you wrapped your arms around his shoulders to balance yourself.
“And you look absolutely stunning, I fear I won’t be able to take my eyes off of you during the whole party.” You confessed, while you played with the hair at the back of his neck.
“You’ll hear no objections from me.” The God smiled proudly.
“We’ll be late for cocktails!” The Doctor impatiently shouted as he knocked on the other side of the door to the spacious wardrobe.
Loki rolled his eyes with a sigh as he took a step back to offer you his arm in a gentlemanly manner.
 “Shall we?”
 ***
“Okay, ground rules.” The Doctor stated as soon as you were all stood outside of the TARDIS, in a green shady area behind a large mansion, whoever was having this party was very well-to-do.
“Rules? We never had rules before.” You frowned, still by Loki’s side with your arm tucked into the crook of his elbow.
“We weren’t all on the run before either.” Touché, you thought as the time lord continued, addressing Loki directly this time. “Try to keep your use of magic to a minimum, we know they can use it to track you.”
“And you know the rest,” he addressed all of you, “no changing history, don’t tell anyone where we’re from, don’t abuse your ability to time travel for gambling etc... etc... you get the gist. Now, I think we have a party to crash.” The Doctor offered Donna his arm, much like Loki had to you, before they lead the way to the back of the mansion with you and Loki following in toe.
It was a gorgeous summers day, the air was warm but not too humid as a fresh breeze occasionally cooled your skin.
You heard the sound of piano music playing from a gramophone as you approached a group of waiters who were smartly dressed in tuxedos, they gathered around a set of straw chairs and tables in the back garden of the mansion.
Strung between trees over head, hung decorative red lanterns and a long table covered with a pristine white cloth was filled with an assortment of various fruits.
“Good afternoon!” The Doctor raised his hand as one of the waiters approached your group.
“Drinks, ladies and gentlemen?” The waiter courteously offered.
“Sidecar, please.” Your auntie answered, making her tone sound slightly more sophisticated than usual.
“Uh, a lime and soda, thank you.” The Doctor requested, before the waiters eyes fell on you.
“Oh... erm, a singapore sling, please.” You decided and followed the waiters eyes as he looked to Loki for his order. You noticed that Loki was now wearing a pair of dark round, silver framed sunglasses to protect his eyes from the bright sun.
“I shall have the same.” Loki copied your order and the waiter swiftly left to prepare your drinks.
“I like these,” you complimented Loki’s sunglasses as you squinted up at him, the sun getting in your own eyes.
With a discreet wave of his hand, an almost identical pair were resting on your own nose, relieving your eyes from the harsh sun. As soon as you parted your lips to remind him not to use his magic, he lifted his finger to his own lips which were lifted into a subtle smirk and your words immediately died on your tongue.
“May I announce Lady Clemency Eddison!” A butler hollered, as he escorted a middle aged, blonde woman wearing a midnight blue cocktail dress into the garden where you were all gathered.
“Lady Eddison!” The Doctor held out his arms, as if greeting an old friend.
“Forgive me, but who exactly might you be and what are you doing here?” She politely asked him, her speech indicated her class and wealth as she took the Doctors hand in her own as a form of greeting.
“I’m the Doctor, and this is Miss Donna Noble of the Chiswick Nobles, her niece and Sir Loki of Asgard.” The Doctor introduced you all one by one. “We were thrilled to receive your invitation, my lady. We met at the Ambassador’s reception.” He smoothly lied as he held up his wallet containing the psychic paper.
Easily convinced by the fake invite and too polite to acknowledge that she clearly had no recollection of meeting the Doctor, Lady Eddison smiled.
“Doctor, how could I forget you?” She feigned realisation. “But one must be sure with the Unicorn on the loose.”
She made her way over to a waiter who was holding a silver platter of champagne saucers and helped herself to one, as you all followed behind her.
“A unicorn? Brilliant! Where?” The Doctors interest spiked, as did yours.
“The Unicorn. The jewel thief.” She clarified and your shoulders slumped, for a second you had thought she was talking about an actual unicorn, obviously you knew they weren’t real but anything was possible when traveling with the Doctor.
“Are unicorns real on Asgard?” You looked at Loki, hoping that you didn’t sound crazy but if he could conjure up sunglasses out of thin air surely anything was possible.
“Unicorns? No.” Loki softly chuckled. “We do, however, have winged horses. The Valkyrie, an army of female Asgardian warriors, used to ride them into battle.” Loki explained.
“Oh wow.” You gasped with amazement at what Loki told you and his lips stretched into a proud smile, delighted that he could impress you with stories of the world he grew up in.
A waiter approached you all and served you the cocktails you ordered on a silver platter, the ice rocks clinked against the glasses as you each lifted your drink from the tray.
“He’s just struck again.” Lady Eddison continued to explain about the jewel thief. “Snatched Lady Babbington’s pearls right from under her nose.”
“Funny place to wear her pearls.” Donna commented, causing you to splutter on your drink as you stifled your giggles.
As you enjoyed your drinks the butler announced more guests as they made their way into the garden. Lady Eddison’s husband and son, Hugh and Roger, the son pushed his father in his wheelchair, a beautiful young socialite called Miss Robina Redmond and a Reverend known as Arnold Golightly.
You turned to put your glass down on one of the tables, as the condensation of the cold glass was beginning to make your silk gloves wet, when a sudden eruption of applause caught your attention.
A blonde lady in a blue and golden embroidered frock humbly approached the group.
“Agatha Christie.” She said as she held out her hand to Donna, greeting her first.
“What about her?” Donna replied as she accepted the woman’s hand.
“That’s me.” Agatha clarified and Donna’s jaw fell slack.
“No! You’re kidding.” Donna gasped in disbelief.
“Agatha Christie!” The Doctor smiled as he enthusiastically shook her hand, “I was just talking about you the other day! I said, I bet she’s brilliant! I’m the Doctor, this is Donna. Oh! I love your stuff! What a mind! You fool me every time, well, almost every time, well, once or twice, well, once. But it was a good once!”
“You make a rather unusual couple.” Agatha observed.
 “No, we’re not married!”
 “Yeah we’re not a couple!”
The Doctor and Donna spoke in unison.
“I’d stay that way, if I were you. The thrill is in the chase, never in the capture.” Agatha advised.
You felt Loki’s arms slide around your waist as he pulled your back into his chest.
“I beg to differ.” Loki whispered lowly and his lips brushed the shell of your ear, igniting a pleasurable flutter within you.
You turned around in his arms and put your hands on his chest to push him away as you stepped back, above his sunglasses you saw his brows draw together and he opened his mouth to speak but you beat him to it.
“How can you say for sure if you haven’t chased me yet?” You questioned him, as you continued to back away with a playful grin.
Loki simply raised one eyebrow as he tilted his head and brought his sunglasses down his nose, to look at you from over their rim. “Is that a challenge, darling?”
 “It might be.” You shrugged.
“My dear, you have no idea what you’re getting yourself into.” Loki warned you, with a smirk that only enticed you further, so you didn’t listen.
You immediately took off as laughter bubbled in your chest and there was an ever so slight rush of adrenaline coursing through your veins. You headed directly towards the open doors of the mansion and Loki was hot on your heel.
Donna and the Doctor turned their heads and watched the pair of you run off after they heard you let out a squeal around uncontrollable laughter, they looked back at the party when they realised all the guests had fallen speechless over your unbecoming behaviour.
“Young love.” Donna tilted her head and scrunched her nose in an ‘aw’ expression and it was enough to get the guests to return to their previous conversations.
The sound of your feet heavily hitting against the tiled floor of the mansions entrance, bounced off the walls of the narrow hallway. You snatched your sunglasses off your face as your eyes adjusted to the dullness inside the mansion, in contrast to how bright it was outside.
Your eyes caught a grand staircase at the end of the hallway and immediately ran towards it, when your foot reached the bottom step you glanced over your shoulder to find Loki was already halfway to the stairs, his sunglasses also removed from his face and you felt a spark of adrenaline through your abdomen, spurring you on to move quicker.
You had to pause at the top of the stairs to momentarily catch your breath, but quickly moved on once you heard Loki’s footsteps getting closer. It was when you turned down the left corridor that you realised you made a mistake, a dead end.
You startled with a shriek when Loki’s arms finally caught you around the waist and he manoeuvred you so that your back was against one of the doors, you were laughing the whole time until your eyes connected with his once he caged you in and you saw the carnal desire hidden in his dilated pupils and your breath hitched.
“So... what’s your verdict?” You questioned him, your voice breathy as you were still panting.
“I’ll admit, the chase is certainly thrilling, however,” his tone lowered, “now that I have captured you, you’re mine to do with as I please and that is far more thrilling.”
You swallowed as your stomach did summersaults while tingles shot up from the base of your spine and you weren’t panting from exertion anymore.
Instantly his mouth was moving against yours, as he fumbled with the doorknob beside your hip, to push the door behind you open. He was already supporting your weight with his arm steadily wrapped around your waist, so you wouldn’t lose your balance as he walked you into the unknown room as his lips slowly trailed from your mouth, down your jaw and to your neck.
While Loki was distractedly kissing you, you let your eyes flutter open to examine your surroundings, from the bookshelves that lined the walls you gathered that it was a library, as your eyes continued to roam they fell onto a large mahogany desk and then– you screeched with terror.
 “Oh my god!”
Loki immediately lifted his head from the crook of your neck as he checked over you with wide worried eyes, seeing your stare was focused behind him, he looked over his shoulder, prepared to protect you from whatever had struck terror through you, only to find the lifeless body of an elderly man on the floor in front of the desk.
He immediately switched your positions, so your back was turned to the body, he wrapped you in his arms and he soothed you with gentle strokes down your back.
“We have to tell the Doctor.” You told him, once you composed yourself, you felt Loki nod in agreement as he pulled you under his arm and swiftly guided you out of the room.
 ***
“Did you touch the body?” The Doctor urgently asked as he rushed through the door to the library. You followed in toe along with Loki, Donna, the butler and Agatha Christie.
“No, we came to you as soon as we saw it.” You answered the Doctor, as you stood off near the corner of the room with Loki beside you, feeling a lot more calmer now that the initial shock had worn off.
The Doctor put on a pair of glasses as he knelt over the body and examined it.
“Bashed on the head. A blunt instrument. Watch broke as he fell, time of death was a quarter past four.” He concluded, before he rose to his feet and started searching through papers on the desk with the hope of finding more evidence.
“Nothing worth killing for in that lot. Dry as dust.” He mumbled to himself.
“Hold on. The body in the library? I mean, Professor Peach, in the library, with the lead piping?” Donna said to the Doctor, as he continued to search through the desk and you realised you had been wrong to compare the deaths in the Dark Ages to Clue, this was literally Clue.
 “Let me see. Gerald?!”
 “Saints preserve us!”
 “Oh, how awful.”
Lady Eddison, Roger, the Reverend and Miss Redmond came spilling into the room, upon hearing about the body.
“Someone should call the police.” Agatha Christie spoke above them all.
“You don’t have to. I’m Chief Inspector Smith, from Scotland Yard, known as the Doctor.” The Time Lord said as he held up his psychic paper for all the guests to see. “Miss Noble’s the plucky young girl who helps me out. Go into the sitting room, I will question each of you in turn.”
“Come along. Do as the Doctor says, leave the room undisturbed.” Agatha ushered everyone out, leaving only you and Loki behind with Donna and the Doctor.
“The plucky young girl who helps me out?” Donna repeated the Doctors words with mockery as soon as the door shut behind all the guests.
“No policewomen in 1926.” The Doctor easily explained from where he was lying flat on his stomach on the floor, searching it for clues.
“Doctor, why aren’t we getting the real police?” You asked as you moved towards him and Donna.
“Well, the last thing we want is PC Plod sticking his nose in. Especially now I found this.” The Doctor shot to his feet, holding up a stick in his hand to show the three of you the residue which stuck to the end of it. “Morphic residue. It gets left behind when certain species genetically re-encode.”
Donna looked at you. “The murderers an alien?”
“Which means one of that lot is an alien in human form.” The Doctor explained as he nodded his head towards the door to signal that he meant one of the party guests.
The Doctor began making his way out of the library and you all started following behind.
“Think about it. There’s a murder, a mystery and Agatha Christie. Isn’t it a bit weird? Agatha Christie didn’t walk around surrounded by murders. Not really. I mean, that’s like meeting Charles Dickens and he’s surrounded by Ghosts at Christmas. Next thing you know, you’ll be telling me it’s like the Murder on the Orient Express, and they all did it.” Donna spoke, as you all moved around the mansion.
“Murder on the Orient Express?” Agatha suddenly appeared from under one of the doorways.
“Oh, yeah, one of your best!” Donna complimented the authors work.
“Not quite yet.” The Doctor subtly corrected Donna.
 “Marvellous idea.” Agatha considered.
“Yeah, tell you what, copyright Donna Noble, okay.” Donna winked at Agatha, who in return gave her a strange look.
“Anyway! Agatha and I will question the suspects. You, Loki and Donna, search the bedrooms. Look for clues.” The Doctor instructed, before he lowered his voice to a whisper. “Anymore residue. You’ll all need one of these.”
The Doctor proceeded to reach into the inside pocket of his jacket and handed each of you a magnifying glass.
“It’s like Scooby Doo, and we’re Mystery Inc.” You said enthusiastically.
Loki looked at the magnifying glass like had personally offended him meanwhile you were looking at him through yours, making certain parts of his face bigger and chuckling at the results.
“Is this for real?” Donna asked, looking at her magnifying glass.
“Right then! Solving a mystery with Agatha Christie, brilliant!” The Doctor smiled with excitement.
“How like a man to have fun while there’s disaster all around him.” Agatha scoffed.
“Sorry, yeah.” The Doctor mumbled as his smile awkwardly fell.
 ***
You and Loki had paired up to search for clues, while Donna searched by herself.
“We should return of the library and see if we can find a trail of the residue to follow.” You decided. “It might lead us to some more clues.”
“Lead the way, Detective.” Loki stepped aside and allowed you to walk ahead of him back to the library.
As you entered the library, your eyes momentarily lingered on the professors body in front of the desk. Sensing your hesitation, Loki put his hand on your shoulder.
“We can search for clues in another room, if you would prefer.” He gently offered, but you shook your head.
“No, I’m fine,” you turned to Loki so that he could see you weren’t lying. “I was just thinking, shouldn’t he be covered with a sheet or something?”
 “Why?” Loki didn’t follow.
“It’s... dignified, I guess?” You answered without complete confidence, as you weren’t sure if that was the exact reason you saw people cover bodies with sheets in films and TV shows, but you were certain that it felt like the right thing to do and it was enough to convince Loki as he nodded.
“I’ll get a sheet from one of the rooms, I’ll be right back.” He planted a kiss on your forehead before leaving and you turned back around to face the room to start searching.
You searched near the fireplace and your eye caught the remains of a burnt piece of paper, it was only about the size of a bottle top but you picked it up and examined it suspecting that it might be worth interest if someone had thrown it into the fire to be destroyed.
Using your magnifying glass to help you, you read the single word on the piece of paper and discovered it said ‘maiden.’ You kept it in your palm and rose back to your feet when you heard Loki return to the room, in his arms he carried a white sheet, which he likely stole from one of the bedrooms.
“Find anything?” He asked, as he shook the sheet out over the professors body before he guided it down slowly until it was covering him completely.
“A piece of paper in the fire.” You held out your glove covered palm as you approached Loki’s side and his eyes fell on it. “I figured, if someone had thrown it into the fire with the intention of destroying it, it must be of interest.”
Loki looked at you with a proud smirk, which caused you to beam and cast your eyes downward.
“Would you look after it though? I don’t have any pockets.” You asked him.
“Of course, my dear.” He took the paper from your palm between his forefinger and thumb and snuck it into the tiny pocket in his waistcoat behind his pocket watch.
Suddenly you heard your auntie screaming and yelling for the Doctor and you immediately began running towards the sound of her voice, Loki chased behind you.
On your way, you caught up with the Doctor and Agatha Christie and all four of you continued running to Donna’s rescue.
You caught her running out of one of the bedroom doors screaming, before she abruptly pulled it shut behind her, her attention turned to the four of you as she heard the sound of your feet galloping towards her.
 “A giant wasp!” Donna cried.
“Oh my god, is that it? I thought someone was trying to kill you.” You sighed with a mix of annoyance and relief.
 “It was!” Donna claimed dramatically.
“Don’t be silly, it’s only a little insect.” Agatha shook her head at your auntie, who looked about ready to slap all of you.
“When I say giant, I don’t mean big! I mean flippin’ enormous!” She raised her voice for emphasis, before she gestured to the bottom of the door. “Look at it’s sting!”
“Oh...” Your eyes widened with realisation as they landed on the abnormally large sting that was lodged halfway through the bottom of the door.
There was no doubt that it would’ve killed your auntie instantly if she had been stung by it.
“Let me see.” The Doctor pushed past to open the door and everyone followed in behind him. “It’s gone.”
When you entered the room, the stale smell of dust immediately surrounded you, the room appeared as though it had been untouched for decades, dust and cobwebs covered almost every surface.
The Doctor rushed to the only window in the room, which was completely smashed through, indicating that was how the giant wasp made it’s escape. You realised it was also how it made its entrance when you heard the sound of broken glass crunching beneath the Doctors shoes as he returned to the door to examine the large sting.
“Don’t touch it!” The Doctor warned all of you and you felt Loki’s fingers wrap around your wrist to pull you closer to his side to ensure you didn’t go anywhere near the sting.
“Giant wasp... well, tons of amorphous insectivorous life forms, but none in this galactic vector.” The Doctor thought out loud as he pulled out a test tube and used a stick to scrape some syrup like substance that was dripping from the sting into it.
“It’s lost its sting though, that makes it defenceless.” Donna said, she was crouched beside the Doctor.
“Creature this size, got to be able to grow a new one.” The Doctor told her.
Another scream carried through the mansion which had you all immediately rushing to find its source, you and Loki held hands as you ran behind the Doctor who made it down the stairs and outside to find Lady Eddison’s personal maid on her back, one of the stone carvings of the mansion had fallen on top of her and she was barely alive. The gravel stone of the drive slid beneath the Doctor’s feet as he rushed to her side.
You all circled around her as she struggled to say her final words.
“The poor... little... child.” She rasped before her head lulled to the side and her eyes fell vacant as the life drained from behind them.
You all lifted your heads to look up when you heard the sound of loud buzzing above you and although you had seen the size of it’s sting in the door. You weren’t prepared to be greeted by the sight of a six foot long wasp hovering over you.
Wasps had always triggered your fight or flight and of course you could never fight a wasp so flight was always your go to, whenever you saw a wasp you would immediately put as much distance between you and it as you possibly could, often that meant running away completely and this time was no different.
While the Doctor, Donna and Agatha had all began running after it, you ran in the opposite direction, splitting your group into two halves and Loki didn’t hesitate in deciding you were the one he was going to follow.
You ran back into the safety of the mansion, sheltering yourself in a corner where you weren’t close to any doors or windows as you shook the heebie jeebies out of your body by jumping up and down on the spot and shaking out all your limbs.
Loki caught up with you and saw your jittery dance and couldn’t control the laughter that bubbled from his throat and when you heard it, you glared at him and he brought his hand to his mouth to stifle his sniggers and tried to offer you an apologetic look.
“I’m sorry,” he tilted his head as he slowly closed the distance between you, now that you had finally settled, “but your dance was rather amusing.”
Another unpleasant shiver shot down your spine, causing you to shake it out as you let out a cringe.
“They freak me out,” you told Loki, as he placed his hand on your upper arm and stroked it to gently sooth you. “Even the normal sized ones, I can’t help it.”
“It’s alright,” Loki assured you and you nodded.
“I’m okay now,” you told him honestly with a smile, before you remembered your auntie and the Doctor chased after the wasp.
“Doctor and Donna,” you gasped. “They went after the wasp.”
“Don’t worry, we will find them.” Loki told you before he took your hand in his, “I’m sure the Doctor has everything under control.”
 ***
The Doctor didn’t have everything under control.
You and Loki had spent a good while searching around the large mansion, mostly just getting lost and ending up in the same place more than once, when you heard a commotion coming from the staff kitchen as you were walking past it. The distinct sound of Donna and the Doctors voices carried through the kitchen and into the corridor, as they shouted hysterically at each other.
You and Loki paused to share a questioning glance before you quickened your paces towards the kitchen.
“What do you want, a Harvey Wallbanger?” Your auntie shouted.
“Harvey Wallbanger?!” The Doctor screeched, as you and Loki silently snuck into the room unnoticed.
“Well, I don’t know!” Donna raised the pitch of her voice.
“How is Harvey Wallbanger one word?!” The Doctor roared, causing the veins in his neck to stand prominent. He was almost doubled over and was struggling to hold himself up as he leaned against the island in the centre of the kitchen for support.
“Salt! I was miming salt! Salt! I need something salty!” The Doctor violently shook his hand up and down as if he was shaking a salt shaker.
“What about this?” Donna offered him a brown paper bag filled with something.
 “What is it?!”
 “Salt!”
 “That’s too salty!”
“Oh, that’s too salty!” She repeated mockingly as she rolled her eyes.
“What about this?” Agatha Christie ran over, offering the Doctor a jar of anchovies, which he immediately snatched from her and shoved its contents into his mouth.
“What is it? What else do you need?” Donna asked the Doctor out of breath, as he began miming something else, waving both his hands wildly in the air.
“Um, it’s a song? Mammy?” Donna cried in an operatic voice. “I don’t know. Camptown Races?”
 “Camptown Races?!” The Doctor cried.
 “All right then. Towering Inferno?!”
“It’s a shock! Look!” He raised his hands up and waved them again. “Shock! I need a shock!”
“Right then. Big shock coming up!” Donna sighed as she put each of her hands on either side of the Doctors face and pulled him down for a kiss, or rather more a snog.
Your jaw fell slack with a gasp and your eyes widened like saucers as they staggered around like that for a while until she let him go and his head flew backwards as a large grey cloud evaporated from his lungs.
“Detox!” The Doctor rasped, once the cloud had all gone and he wiped the back of his hand over his mouth and chin. “I must do that more often! I mean the... detox.”
“What’s going on?” You asked, finally making your presence known as you walked further into the room.
“Someone poisoned the Doctor. We were giving him an antidote.” Donna explained.
“Who would to that?” You asked.
“The wasp. They know I’m onto them.” The Doctor said, reminding you that the wasp had a human form and was likely one of the guests. It also reminded you that you had found a clue.
“Oh, Doctor! I forgot to tell you, I found something in the library that I think might be of interest.” You told him and Loki was already fishing the charred piece of paper from out of his waistcoat pocket.
“Brilliant! What is it?” The Doctors eyes widened as Loki handed it to him.
“It was in the fireplace of the library, it seems someone wanted to destroy it.” You explained, as the Doctor put on his glasses and squinted at the word on the paper.
“Maiden!” He shouted as if he had a realisation, causing everyone in the room to startle, except for Loki, who you realised wasn’t easily surprised. “What does that mean?”
Everyone sighed with disappointment, having thought the Doctor might have been onto something, only to realise he was as clueless as the rest of you.
“We’re still no further forward. Our nemesis remains at large.” Agatha remarked.
 ***
A thunder clap made you jump and you put your palm over your chest to calm your spiked heartbeat. Night had fallen and with it it had brought a terrible storm. Lady Eddison had promised to host all her guests for the night and now you were all sat in her dining room around a large table, eating the starter of the meal which she had her cooks prepare.
Naturally you were sat next to Loki, Donna and the Doctor were sat beside each other on the opposite side of the table and Lady Eddison at the head, while her husband, Hugh, was sat at the bottom. All the other guests occupied the rest of the dining chairs.
“I don’t believe we have been introduced.” Miss Redmond, the young socialite, said to Loki from where she was sat next to him, on his opposite side to you.
“We weren’t.” Loki stated, as he focused on his spoon full of soup as he brought it to his lips.
“I’m Robina,” Miss Redmond smiled at Loki, and you watched closely from his other side, beginning to feel a heaviness creep on your chest, but you willed yourself to ignore it as you deemed it irrational, she was just being friendly.
“I’m Loki,” He replied, before he leaned back in his chair so he was no longer blocking her view of you and placed his hand over yours which was resting on top of the dining table. “And this is my beloved.” He introduced you.
As soon as Miss Redmonds eyes fell on you, her smile dropped and she returned to her soup.
“A terrible day for all of us. The Professor struck down. Lady Eddison’s maid Miss Chandrakala, cruelly taken from us. And yet, we still take dinner.” The Doctor commented.
“We are British, Doctor. What else must we do?” Lady Eddison answered him, holding a crystal glass filled with red wine.
“Then someone tried to poison me.” The Doctor continued, “anyone of you had the chance to put cyanide in my drink.” Everyone at the table remained silent, as they became increasingly interested their meal in front of them. “But it rather gave me an idea.”
“And what would that be?” The Reverend, Arnold Golightly, boldly asked the Doctor.
“Well. Poison. Drink up!” The Doctor casually stated, and everyone at the table immediately choked on their mouthfuls or dropped their spoons, yourself included as your eyes widened and stared at the Doctor, wondering if he had lost his mind.
“I’ve laced the soup with pepper.” The Doctor clarified and your shoulders slumped with relief. “But the active ingredient of pepper is piperine. Traditionally used as an insecticide.”
Your lips parted with realisation of the Doctors clever plan and you let your eyes roam around the dining table, trying to spot which one looked the most alarmed.
“Anyone got the shivers?” The time lord taunted, before a thunderous clap blew the windows open which sent a chilling draft through the room and blew out all the candles, plunging the room into darkness.
You immediately tightened your hand around Loki’s, as they were still intertwined on the top of the dining table, when you heard a buzzing fill the pitch black room.
“Listen! Listen!” The Doctor instructed, drawing all the other guests attentions to the sound of the wasps buzz.
“No. It can’t be...” Lady Eddison whispered as a clash of lightning briefly lit up the room, your eyes frantically bounced around taking advantage of the fleeting moment of visibility but you could not see any six foot long wasp.
“Nobody move!” The Doctor ordered, when he heard the legs of a chair push back against the hard wood floor beneath them, but they elected to ignore the Doctor as the sound of footsteps filled the room. “No, don’t! Stay where you are!”
Another clap of lightning allowed you the ability to see just long enough, to this time catch a glimpse of the giant wasp, hovering above the dining table and you screeched.
You felt Loki tugging on your hand and realised he was now standing and you quickly pushed yourself out of your chair too, once you were by his side, Loki began guiding you out of the dining room as urgently and as safely as he was able.
“Out! Out! Out!” You heard the Doctor shout at everyone else from behind you, as multiple chairs screeched against the floor and the sound of more frantic footsteps filled the unlit room.
Loki soon found the door and opened it to reveal the lit hallway, allowing light to faintly leak into the shadowy dining room and soon the other guests were following yours and Loki’s lead.
Donna, the butler, and then Agatha and the Doctor, who snatched one of the decorative swords off of the wall for protection.
“Well, we know the butler didn’t do it.” Donna gasped, out of breath.
“Then who did?” The Doctor asked no one in particular, as he returned to the dining room with his sword raised and you all followed behind him.
One of the waiters had found the switch to the lights and the room was once again illuminated, the first thing you realised upon entering was that the buzzing had stopped and the giant wasp was nowhere to be seen. The Reverend and Hugh were both on the floor, Hugh’s wheelchair was tipped over, he must’ve fallen out of it during the chaos.
“My jewellery.” Your eyes fell on Lady Eddison who was clasping at her now bare neck. “The firestone, it’s gone. Stolen!”
Your attention was quickly diverted to Miss Redmond as she let out a scream, muffled from behind her own hand and it didn’t take you long to find the cause, as your eyes fell to Lady Eddison’s son, Roger, slumped face down into his bowl of soup with a dagger lodged between his shoulder blades.
“My son. My child.” Lady Eddison cried, as she approached his lifeless body. Once she reached him, she leaned over him as she sobbed uncontrollably into his shoulder.

Agatha cuddling a tired Wanda mayhaps? Thank u Moon!<3333
hey! i absolutely love when you send me these cute prompts, they make my heart all warm and fluttery inside! i hope you like what I got for you <3
-
wanda was really having a bad day.
it all started when they were training defensive spells. agatha worried greatly about wanda’s ability to defend herself, despite her being “the scarlet witch”. sure, strength and raw power were important in many, many levels, but knowledge was what did the trick. quite literally, at times. therefore, she looked forward to being trained by her mentor, her… friend, if she could call her that.
wanda wasn’t completely sure what kind of relationship they had. one day she was sitting by herself on her porch, sipping on some herbal tea she managed to brew and feeling the crisp wind of the autumn morning blowing her hair, when suddenly - suddenly agatha was just there. all smirks and knowing eyes, barely hidden anger beneath ocean blue irises and sharp edges on her words. they fought a lot. and she cried a lot too - nothing out of the ordinary.
however, a mutual understanding started to bloom between them. wanda still felt extremely guilty of entrapping the older witch in her own mind and, after putting up a little fight, she realized she wanted, nay, needed agatha’s guidance if she wanted to find her kids. and agatha? well, she tried to rub this fact on her face every. single. day. it was tiring and annoying and sometimes made her wonder if she did the right thing, bonding herself to this unnerving woman. it exhausted her.
until it didn’t.
snarky remarks that used to make her blood boil now make her smile and give in to exasperated laughter and gentle banter. cautious stares tinged with resentment now turned into tender glances and fluttering heartbeats when her companion wasn’t looking, totally immersed in whatever witchy thing she was doing. if wanda were to pinpoint the exact moment things have changed between them, she wouldn’t know the answer. perhaps, if she had to guess, it would have been the moment agatha - agnes - knocked on her door and entered not only her made up, dream house but her life too. everything changed after she met the purple witch. and that was okay by her.
but good god, her head was pounding painfully now. did wanda already say how hard and demanding training with agatha could be? she sighed deeply. the other woman was finishing closing the darkhold - she shuddered as she remembered its sentient energy - and wanda just wanted to lay down on the floor for a little while and sleep. without even noticing, the redhead exchanged the scarlet witch attire she was wearing for a red, comfy pajamas, making her way to the sofa. slowly lowering herself and laying head up on the cushiony surface, wanda closed her eyes.
the sun was setting down and the forest behind the small cabin was quiet, if not for the buzzing of little bugs and the chirping of birds. if opened, green orbs would see the adoring look plastered on agatha’s face. the raven-haired woman silently walked through the small area of the living room, conjuring a blanket. she covered the sleeping woman up and gently ran her fingers through auburn hair. a loving smile spread across her face. not that she would ever admit it, but she knew she was getting soft. and that was perfectly fine by her.
as she started to pull away, a warm hand grasped her wrist. wanda gazed sleepily at her, but there was something else in her eyes. they seemed to smile just as her lips were. agatha smiled back.
“come lay with me?” the younger woman whispered. the hand that was keeping her in place softly intertwined with hers, electricity rushing through her arm at the contact. agatha looked down into green fields painted with the smallest drops of hazel. she let herself be pulled down and sat on the edge of the sofa.
"i would love to, darling, but i don't think the couch would be too pleased," the older witch teasingly replied. wanda rolled her eyes.
"it's not like we can't fix it, right?" with a flick of her wrist, what was once a couch turned into a comfortable looking, queen-sized bed.
in the middle of the living room.
a snort erupted from agatha's throat. full blown laughter soon could be heard as she settled down next to her apprentice, dark strands of hair mingling with fiery ones on the pillows. they faced each other as it died down. wanda timidly sought out her hand, holding it closely to her chest. agatha felt her heart flutter as she too got closer to the other woman, green eyes following her every movement.
"you should rest, dear…" she murmured, words filled with tenderness she didn't know she was capable of. surprising both herself and wanda, the younger witch closed the gap between them as she buried her head in agatha's neck, lean arms looping snuggly around the woman's waist.
agatha nothing said. embracing her thoroughly, she started singing a lullaby from her time as a child. wanda felt sleep coming yet again as the whispered melody penetrated her ears and engulfed her heart in warmth. she smiled against her neck before closing her eyes.
maybe today wasn't so bad after all.

The “Momma Sturmvoraus was Literally Satan” AU
As requested by @spazzbot. This AU was initially brainstormed on the GG fanworks server almost a year ago. Specifically, on the first day of 2020.
Tumblr media
[ID: a truncated discord message by “Miss Nixy, Gay for RoboLadies” posted 01/01/2020. The message reads “I need to sleep but please for the moment consider:” and ends there.]
So. Let’s get to it.
Satan took a human form because why not see what's going on topside, live like a human, and “Oh shit is this pregnancy? This is pregnancy. Fuck, that's a tiny human. Which is now half demon. Am I supposed to take care it? Wonder if retconing this form into that Valois family was a bad idea. They do have SO much money though, I get to live like a queen. I suppose another child shouldn't hurt, it wasn't that bad. Oh, he's cute, this is actually making sense, why humans do all the sinning. Not counting dear Aaronev's murders, of course, those are just evil, but I did search out the worst of the humans to pair myself to...”
This is literally just "Tarvek and Anevka's mom was low-key Satan on a bored “let's be human for a decade or two to see what happens” jaunt, consequences happen because these kids are LITERALLY half-demon and arguably anti-Christs."
Also it's just Very Funny for Tarvek, ineffectual sexy lamp fashion twunk extraordinaire, to be an antichrist
Jeff thinks he’s pretty. Jeff keeps describing features that don’t entirely make sense. (Jeff’s canon name is Karl Thotep but they spent so long unnamed that the server collectively named them Jeff.)
This is not a crossover with anything, btw. Ambiguously Pop Culture Satan just got bored and went to have babies with a serial killer.
They’re just kids! That are vaguely demonic. So. Moreso than the rest of the Valois.
Sometimes "mom" comes back from the dead and visits Anevka and Tarvek to impart Wisdom and possibly magic lessons The rooms always smell faintly of sulfur after that...
They try to put Anevka in the machine but SHE isn't hurt and the MACHINE just melts
So that's the end of that.
It's very awkward for everyone, but the paperwork isn't too bad. It's very easy to write "incidental fire began during late-fugue experimentation, resulted in fire spreading through six rooms and several casualties, including Prince Aaronev Wilhelm Sturmvoraus."
As per @atagotiak, “I feel like if we’re going in any way dimensional weirdness with thing, Tarvek got so good at exploring bc he could just clip through walls.”

Tarvek in Paris: My dead mother keeps showing up in my dreams to tell me I need to seduce my way out of my problems and also she looks like Satan. Tarvek's Voltaire-Appointed Therapist: I still don't know what that means. Just like the last five times. Tarvek: I keep telling her that I can’t seduce Colette, if seduction is that important she should get Anevka to do it.
Like he probably wouldn’t say most of that in front of any Voltaire-approved individual, but still.
Tarvek is still very good at self control but there's a Special Edge to his rants.
(Derailed in the moment to me thinking about Anevka in a sfw-but-concerningly-deadly succubus getup, because... yeah.)
Aaronev dies and goes to hell and his dead wife is just there like "hi! Time to be tortured for eternity!" He wasn't a good husband so. He can't exactly sentimentalize his way out.
“In the sexy way?” “... not for you, no.”
Mostly I just want the BULLSHIT that is "Storm Mom was actually just Satan getting bored and going on vacation as a retconned Valois girl, the kids are half-demons and sometimes it Shows."
To clarify: the Satan bit isn't the retcon. Grandma used to have one daughter. Now there are two. (Seffie and Martellus's mother doesn't remember being an only child, but sometimes...)
Satan retconned a new daughter in, which included a Valid Valois Venusian Vestment, so the blood tests play out.
The subtle signs of wrongness would be fun too. Anevka tends to smile a bit too wide and sharp for a human face. Inexplicable uneasiness, here you can’t point at any specific thing that’s wrong but it’s uncomfortable. Uncanny valley prettiness, almost like the porcelain she became in other timelines. Skin isn’t supposed to be that smooth.
My brain's pre-nap contribution at that point was "Satan's pronouns when not pretending to Human are sin/sinself" which is! Certainly a thing.
Tarvek, at some nebulous future point: I mean, your ancestors were monsters, but my dad was a serial killer and my mom was literally Satan, instead of just figuratively like Lucrezia, so. I mean. I kind of get what you're going through.
Per @firebirdeternal: Tarvek and Anevka growing up with "you're allergic to holy water" and not questioning it until a little later because What.
And then they test it and it's like "yeah, no, there's a rash now. That stung. What the fuck."
It INFURIATES Gil in Paris when Tarvek tells him that's a thing, because there's nothing chemically different about Holy water and regular water. But no, this is somehow happening.
It gets logged in medical journals as a Valois genetic thing because, well, Mom was like that too, right?
One time they both go into a church for an Adventure and Gil is very annoyed to find that Tarvek is like. Faintly smoking. It smells like burnt hair in here.
Gil: What smells like burnt hairgel? Tarvek: [glares]
Gil decides that it must be something particular to the church, like a fungus or something in the stone, contaminating the air and water so it only LOOKS like the holiness is what's setting off reactions.
It is not.
Tarvek once got into an argument with someone and ate a slab of raw, completely uncooked meat as a power move.
SVV seems to work perfectly. Everyone is fine. We get the ‘you fight like ducks’ moment.
And then Tarvek bursts into flames, and everyone panics because no they fixed this what the fuck is he still infected with Hogfarb’s oh my god... and then everything settles down and he's perfectly fine. Not a scratch on him, no longer turning funny colors. Completely unharmed. He's in a nicely tailored suit and looks faintly stunned
"I just met my dead mom, who's apparently Satan. She told me that after I died the first time just now, I should be harder to kill later, especially with fire, because now there's more demon and less mortal and guys I think I'm going crazy." "Is that a martini?" Tarvek looks down. "Apparently."
Tarvek starts just. Randomly setting things on fire by glaring too hard and has to tone it down. Meanwhile, Agatha and Gil are having crises about how he's somehow getting PRETTIER.
Is he faintly glowing? Maybe!
Gil handles it by angrily sniping at Tarvek about how of COURSE he's an evil little rat with a background like that.
Tarvek just wants a nap and to forget this ever happened. Many people are sworn to secrecy. It's very awkward.
Still, SVV did something, for handwave-y reasons, and so they're linked now. Gil and Agatha both getting tiny flashes of the same shenanigans.
They get none of the powers. They just keep getting Weird Shit.
Other characters with divine influence are like "Did you.... did you make a pact with a demon?" "What no that's our boyfriend."
Tho tbh I wouldn’t be surprised if a Heterodyne did sign a contract with a demon at some point in exchange for like. Materials. A hundred souls sacrificed in exchange for some succubus blood. Thanks!
Tarvek and Othar: Falling out of CW as in canon. Tarvek: WHAT THE HELL SINCE WHEN DO I HAVE WINGS HIDE THIS BEFORE I GET BOOTED FROM THE LINE FOR THE THRONE
IDK where Anevka is during all this. I think she might have decided to go sleep her way through the courts of the Ice Tsars. Vacation, y'know?
Othar after he's decided to make Tarvek his new Heroic Apprentice: AH, my poor afflicted young friend, it's noble of you to go against the dark nature of your tragic heritage like this. Tarvek: I hate you. I wish I could hate you to death. But you have a point. I shouldn't let my father's blood limit what I strive for in life. Othar: I... I thought your mother was... Tarvek: I know what I said.
Tarvek: Also you can't tell ANYONE about that, I can't have them thinking I'm not actually in line for the Storm King's throne.
He does admittedly have to like. Explain things to Grandma.
Terabithia is Tarvek’s maternal grandmother so this is supremely awkward. That said...
Grandma fondly remembers her pregnancy cravings; bone marrow and sulfur.
"Yeah so, my mother, your daughter, was... maybe actually Satan? But retconned into your life?" "Tarvek, darling, please. I figured that out half a century ago."
TARVEK ACCIDENTALLY FINDS HIM HIMSELF WEIRDLY INTENSE AT CONTRACTS
I mean that honestly just Tracks about Tarvek anyways? But like moreso.
He just. Writes something up and there's things getting signed or shook on and then the person tries to break the contract and either suddenly catch fire or are deeply unlucky for a set amount of time.
And Tarvek's just standing there like "how in the FUCK did I do that?"
Severity of infernal punishment depends on the severity of the breach of contract.
Tarvek finds out that Anevka's been convincing rich people to sign their souls over to her. It's a fun challenge. She keeps them in jars.
They can still remotely pilot their bodies but like. They can't TELL anyone what happened.
Satan: I'm going to go make babies and now everyone else has to deal with the consequences.
Anevka's living up to that whole "princess of hell" vibe. Tarvek's just like "nope nope nope I want the storm throne, not the hell throne, BYE MOM."
Satan's just feeling sinself down in hell like "awwww look at my babies go, aren't they adorable?"
Tarvek: Anevka, what... first off, how did you figure it out? Anevka: Well, I temporarily died when father put me in the machine, and... I can't say that hell kicked me out because they were afraid I'd take over, but mother DID say she'd rather I play about with human governments instead of Hell's. Tarvek: Okay, cool cool cool. What after you planning to DO with all these souls? Anevka: They make for some lovely reading lamps, don't they?
(Anevka absolutely sets herself the goal of acquiring new titles that rival her old ones, or even surpass them. She just black widows her way through Europa.)
I just want someone (probably Snackleford) to ascend, take one look at Tarvek, and run SCREAMING.
Tarvek still needed to be anchored to Higgs, because Tarvek is Baby.
Gil is eventually in a relationship with an Eternal God Queen and the Literal Son of Satan.
Family dinners can include ALL the in-laws if you duck down to hell! - You borrow Bill from... probably heaven, maybe purgatory. - You have Lu and Aaronev and Satan already there, though the first two... well. Aaronev and Lu get invited to dinner but they have to eat by themselves at the kiddy table and nobody talks to them or acknowledges their presence. After all, this is hell, and what better punishment for Lu than to be completely ignored, and for Aaronev to see Lu at her worst and be reminded that he gave everything for this horrible, horrible person who isn't even pretending to care about him anymore. - Zanta and Klaus get invited via portal. - Anevka saunters in with a blood-soaked dress and a complaint about militant demon-hunters refusing to let her go shopping for a new pair of shoes. - Zeetha tagged along with the OT3. (She can't wait to see this situation explode.)
Oh God, Satan is actually second place as far as good parenting goes.
Well, actually, fourth. Because Adam and Lilith. But second as far as bio parents go. 1. Zanta 2. Satan 3. Klaus 4/5. Lu and Aaronev N/A. Bill
Someone (Anevka) decides to stir the pot and invites Von Pinn, Terabithia, Bang.
Bang is basically Gil’s older sister, right? Right.
This is Zanta meeting Bang for the first time! Zanta is just: "It's so nice to meet my husband's adopted daughter." Klaus freezes. Bang freezes. Gil is the only one who is just. "Yeah." Meanwhile Zeetha is crying with laughter off to the side because both of them deserve this. (Zanta would legit love Bang though.)
Agatha: Tarvek, I think DuPree is-- Tarvek: Hitting on my sister? I know. Agatha: On your mom, actually. Tarvek: NO!
Also I do love the idea of like. Nobody tells Bang they're inviting her. She just wakes up in Hell like. "Ah. Yes. Fair enough."
Satan: Oh no no no my dear, you're here as a guest. Besides as well as you'd fit you're not one of mine, you've got other things waiting for you. Bang: Okay, but I love the decor. And is that Cheesecake?
Bang’s family has their own evil god in the novels, but! Bang DID pick on Tarvek a lot in Paris. Satan cares more than Anevka does. Bang might get the sexy punishment.
I feel like the fact that no permanent damage was done and it taught Tarvek a lot of things means Satan isn't gonna be all that upset about it.
And let's be real, if there's a character in GG who could look the literal Christian devil in the eye and be like "Yeah I tortured your kid, what're you going to do about it?" it's Bang.
Even Satan doesn't know what to do or think about Othar.
He sure is here! As Anevka’s arm candy! Nobody knows what to do except Anevka herself, who just wants to be Smug.
(What's that scene from Phineas and Ferb that's the mad scientist trapping the platypus within the rules of polite dining at a fine restaurant? Like he can't make a scene because that would be rude?) (That. Othar would dearly love to start a fight, but it's a Family Dinner. You're only allowed to fight verbally at those.)
(Othar isn't even fighting Satan, he just wants to argue with Klaus.) (And maybe fanboy in Bill's direction a bit).

Valentine's Writing Tag
Tagged by amazing @enchanted-lightning-aes!! Thank you Enchant dear!
1. Which of your characters have some romantic chemistry?
From Marble and Magic of course the main couple is Agatha and Jasper, but they aren't the only one along the story (not that i can say who the other is but, you know now)
In You Are Safe Here things get... messier. Since I started with characters and decided to just let them mingle around and form whatever relationships they wanted, these are not as clear as in m&m, but I'm thinking Hel and Azaly would have chemistry as well as Camrin and Nix, but who knows what will happen between all of them huh
2. Which of your characters do you think readers will ship?
oooooooooooooooooooooohhhh okay I have some Theories(tm)
Of course Jasper and Agatha since it's the main couple of Marble and Magic BUT I must say a thought crossed my mind when I was writing a certain chapter. And I found myself writing about Agatha and Tony and thinking "some people would def ship these two even if they will NEVER be attracted to each other and even if they were there's no way it'll work out." But who am I to decide who ships what? As long as it's consenual okay and legal....
I guess some people would be able to identify some chemistry in between Tony and Kit and make the first hella redemption arc fics and just give them sort of a "second chance" romance, BUT there would be people shipping Kathan with Kit (that ship was originally planned but I don't trust Kathan with my sunshine ball Kit and I think it's time for Kit to actually embrace and learn what to be single is and that it doesn't mean you are less loved by anyone).
There's also Imara's girlfriend, who is mentioned but never shows up, but I might give her a name so that people can let their imagination run wild hahaha
3. Which of your characters are slated to be an endgame relationship?
Agatha and Jasper are endgame yes. Everyone else just... can do whatever their hearts desire haha
4. Are there any established relationships in your WIPs? If so, how did they meet?
no, a common thing i've noticed in my wips is that everyone usually starts with a failed relationship (not always romantic or sexual) and I build up from there.
5. What’s your dream love confession scene between your characters?
oh my god my imagination is going w i l d right now. So Agatha and Jasper could be both scenarios: or a really super sad scene i have planned where they have to take some risks and it's raining and its hella dramatic OR a really nice sweet love confession somewhere peacefully and quiet maybe with a delicate sunlight streaming in??? and a light breeze???? a setting that accentuates them being home i guess
In You Are Safe Here I need "you almost died" angry confessions so there would be one of those and maybe loads of angst because of course darling, there's gonna be angst i don't have all this trauma myself for nothing what am i supposed to do with it besides this
Tagging @euphoniouspandemonium because i need to know what Andryusha and Stephen are up to and also@diphthongsfordays and @writingamongther0ses if you both don't mind :D
thanks again for tagging me Enchant! It's been really fun!

June: HAAA? YA WANT YER HEAD OFF OR SOMETHING?!
Cass: Uuuummmm…
June: Ya ok ‘here, Cass?
Cass: E-Eh? Ye-Yes! Though for a mo-moment the wind was knocked o-out of me…
Rosa: I thought for sure we were going to die…
Marcia: Haaaa, that would have been better…
Rosa: It really wouldn’t have!! Maybe you’re fine with dying young, but I’m not!! I still have a ton of stuff to do, you know?! Dying like this would be way too inconvenient!
Marcia: Haaaaa…
Rosa: Grrrr! What’s with this attitude anyways?! After making so much trouble for the rest of us by getting that djinn out of the lamp, you decide to stick your head in the sand too?!
June: Tsk. That’s ‘hat happens when yer so fuckin’ greedy.
Marcia: Hm? Why are you looking at me when you’re saying that? I really don’t get it.
Rosa: Weren’t you the one who brought the lamp to the meeting?! Why do you think we’re blaming you?!
Marcia: Now wait just a sec! Yeah, I’m the one who brought the lamp in, but it was senpai who released the djinn inside! If anyone’s to blame, it’s her!
Blanche: That’s a foregone conclusion.
Marcia: Eh? Wh-What’s that supposed to mean?
June: Ya should have expected the shitty ghoul to pull shit like ‘his.
Rosa: That’s right! That’s right! Dies-senpai is a heartless person who only likes to amuse herself by making others miserable! You should have known beforehand she’d take advantage of the situation to make a mess like this! Seriously, Marcia! What were you thinking?!
June: Yeah, ya fuckin’ moron.
Marcia: HAAAAAAAAAAA?! You’re blaming me?! You’re seriously blaming me?! After all that was said?! Your heads seriously are screwed on wrong!
Rosa: Grrr!
June: YA WANNA PICK A FIGHT?!
Marcia: I’LL PICK ONE ALRIGHT! I’m not gonna stand here and let you dump on me like that when there’s only one person at fault!
Vita: Hm~?
Agatha: Don’t… point… your… stupid… finger… at… Big… Sis…
Marcia: Shut it! I’m serious right now! Even if you bite it off I won’t care, you brat!
Agatha: GRRRRRRRRRRR.
Marcia: Senpai!!
Vita: My~ Your furious face certainly adds a certain allure to your visage~ It sends shivers down my spine~
Marcia: Yo-You’re not gonna distract me with your weirdness now! I’m too worked up to think through what you’ve just said! Senpai!! Please explain yourself!
Vita: Oh? Explain myself? Whatever could you mean?
Marcia: You know perfectly well what I’m talking about!! Why did you let the djinn out?!
Vita: Ah. That.
Marcia: Yes! That! You knew there was a magical presence in the lamp and you set him loose on all of us! Please explain your reasoning behind that!
Vita: Hm~? ‘Tis not obvious?
Marcia: Not at all!! I can’t wrap my head around your thinking process at all! It’s like trying to navigate a maze with no exit!
Vita: My~ The compliments are pouring out of your mouth today, are they not?
Marcia: Senpai!!
Vita: Fufu~ But very well. Sweet nothings should be rewarded after all. ‘Tis always been my policy. If an answer you seek, then cease your wandering, my dear~
Marcia: … Wh-What’s that supposed to mean? I don’t get it at all!
Diana: Curiosity is man’s downfall.
Marcia: Eh? Curiosity? Downfall?! What are you talking about now, Diana?!
Blanche: … I’m afraid I understand what she’s talking about.
Rosa: You do?! Just from that?! You’re amazing, Blanche!
Blanche: … Th-That’s… Ahem. I advise you to restrain your enthusiasm, Rosalia. I’m doubtful you’ll be happy with what I’m about to say…
Rosa: I-Is it that scary?!
Blanche: Scary… Perhaps we could look at it that way too… But more importantly, I would say the right word for it is-
Vita: Gratitude~
Blanche: …
Rosa: Gra-Gratitude? For what exactly…
Agatha: The… stupid… amoeba’s… brain… is… so… small… eheheheheheheheh…
Rosa: GRRR!
Vita: Now, now, my darling Agatha~ We must always show patience, remember? ‘Tis not her fault for her deficiency~
Rosa: … I didn’t get that but it was an insult, wasn’t it?! I can tell, you know!
Vita: How perspicacious of you, little rose~
Rosa: Another one! That was another one, wasn’t it?! Is this really the time for that though?! Don’t we have bigger problems?!
Marcia: Give it up, Rosalia.
Rosa: Eh? Marcia?
Marcia: There’s no way you’re going to get through to senpai. Her mind is too warped. Like this issue of gratitude… I think I’ve got a grasp on it…
Vita: Hm~?
Marcia: That gratitude you’re speaking about… is it that you wanted to thank me for bringing such a fun ‘toy’ for you to play around with?
Vita: Correct~
Marcia: AAAAAAAAAH! I WAS AFRAID YOU WERE GOING TO SAY THAT! JUST DOING EVERYTHING AT YOUR OWN PACE WITHOUT CARING ABOUT ANYBODY ELSE. THAT’S RIGHT! THAT’S RIGHT! THAT’S THE WAY OF THE MAD FREE PEOPLE, ISN’T IT?!
Rosa: Ma-Marcia! Calm down! You’re having a breakdown!
Marcia: Right.
Rosa: .... Eh? Th-That was a quick turnaround…
Marcia: After some meditation-
Rosa: Meditation?! What meditation?!
Marcia: I’ve come to a conclusion. SENPAI!
Vita: Hm?
Marcia: I’m returning the lamp to you~
Vita: No need, my dear. Consider it part of your dowry~
Marcia: Eh~? No way~ I couldn’t possibly steal this magnificent item from its rightful owner~
Vita: My~
Marcia: And since you’re the rightful owner~ Because you are~ You should stay here and marry this guy instead~
Vita: Oh~? I simply could not~
Marcia: Are you thinking about my feelings~? How kind~! But you really shouldn’t~ I’m giving you my full support~ So don’t hold back~ Don’t hold back at all~
Rosa: … She’s really trying to skirt her duties.
Marcia: I heard that!!
Rosa: !!!
Marcia: If you think I’m taking the fall for senpai’s blunder, then you’re dreaming!! I’m washing my hands clean of this whole thing!! Ya hear me?!
Rosa: … Just a second before you begged her to give you the lamp.
Marcia: That was when I thought I could make a quick madol with little to no consequences!! Things are different now!! The consequences have come back to bite me in the ass!!
Blanche: She’s so frustrated everything is spilling out.
Diana: Mm.
Marcia: So, senpai!!
Vita: Hm~?
Marcia: Step up and do the right thing!! Take this creepy guy and marry him so we can go back!!
Vita: I refuse~ I despise men with such bland features~
Marcia: WHO CARES ABOUT THAT?! You think I want to marry a guy with such a lame sense of humour?!
Vita: Hm, that would be rather unfortunate~ But his overly excitable attitude is simply revolting. I will concede to you.
Marcia: I DON’T WANT HIM! HE’S REALLY OFF-PUTTING! YOU TAKE THE CREEP!
Vita: No~
Rosa: They’re really annoyingly stubborn!! Seriously, I know that marrying such a weirdo is not the best outcome, but aren’t they going too far? Don’t you think so, Blanche?
Blanche: … Rosalia.
Rosa: Eh? Blanche! But- Huh?! Wait! If you’re on my right, then who’s the one-
Djinn: …
Rosa: AAAAH! SO YOU’VE BEEN HERE ALL ALONG?!
Djinn: ...
Marcia: YOU TAKE HIM! I’D RATHER DIE THAN MARRY HIM!
Vita: ‘Tis a mutual feeling~
Djinn: …
Rosa: YOU MONSTERS! STOP TALKING! THIS SORT OF ABUSE WILL BREAK ANYBODY’S SPIRIT! JUST BECAUSE HE’S UGLY AND LAME DOESN’T MEAN THAT HE SHOULD BE FORCED TO ENDURE THIS!
June: … Yer one to talk.
Djinn: ...ugh..
Rosa: Eh? What was that?
Djinn: ...ough…
Blanche: ?
Djinn: ENOUGH!!
Blanche: !!!
Rosa: MY EARS!!
June: NOT ‘HIS SHIT AG’IN!
Djinn: ‘Monster’ is too light a word for you people!! Even ogres have more compassion! You devils! Don’t you know a young man’s heart is really fragile?!
Rosa: I-It kinda hurts how right he is...
Djinn: That’s it. I’ve decided.
Rosa: Eh? You decided?! What did you decide?!
Djinn: I really wanted a cute wife to come live with me and cheer me up when I am down and share my joys and sorrows! But you girls are much too troublesome and unpleasant!
Rosa: Eeeh?! But I didn’t even do anything?!
Blanche: That’s obviously a lie.
Djinn: So you’re all evicted from here-
Marcia: YAHOO!
Djinn: -except for my master!
Marcia: …
Vita: Fufu~
Marcia: DON’T YOU DARE LAUGH! And you!!
Djinn: Ah, don’t shout like that. I have delicate hearing, you know?
Marcia: Like I care!! More importantly, didn’t you just say you couldn’t stand any of us earlier?! What’s with this sudden switch, huh?!
Djinn: … Well.
Marcia: WELL WHAT?
Djinn: I guess spending eternity with you is still better than being alone.
Marcia: …
Diana: … He must dislike loneliness.
Rosa: Haaaa?! Aren’t you too casual about this?! The way he just spoke was super insulting, actually!!
Blanche: Indeed. But that aside…
Agatha: It… still… means… one… will… have… to… stay… behind… We… should… make… the… stupid… amoeba… do… that… hehehehehehehe…
Rosa: NOOOO! ANYTHING BUT THAT! DON’T LEAVE ME BEHIND! I DON’T WANNA! IT’S MARCIA’S FAULT SO SHE SHOULD STAY!
Marcia: IF ANYONE SHOULD STAY IT’S DIES-SENPAI!
Vita: Fufu, are we to cast votes? Then I believe that the world ought to be spared of violent brutes with barely a sliver of intelligence~
June: …
Cass: Mi-Mi-Miss Himalia?
June: … I... ‘nough…
Cass: Um…
June: I HAD ‘NOUGH OF ‘HIS SHIIIIIIIIIIIIT!
Djinn: !!! E-EH?!

More Genius omens au
The Bentley definitely still plays Queen music, despite Queen not actually existing yet. Crowley generally brushes it off as something leftover from the previous spark (it’s actually because the association with “Queen” and “the Bentley” is so universal that Crowley just put a transmitter that collects queen songs from other universes and records them into it automatically while he was in a fugue).
I haven’t got it fully fleshed out yet, but the meeting with the baron goes much differently, so they don’t die like Adam and Lilith did. (and even if it hadn’t, they still wouldn’t have died by virtue of being a Jager and Jager-knockoff)
A lot of the plot still happens anyways, though, since they’re still. you know. them.
(also Crowley hasn’t told any of the Jagers because that’s what Master Barry told him to do and he’s not so bad of a Jager to go against a direct command, (and even if he was he didn’t really know anyone who he’d really trust in the chain of command, what with Hastur, Ligur, and Beelzebub being the only other Jager’s he knows well))
They get separated on the airship, so Agatha ends up with the circus and does go to the party and get doused with truth serum and then knocked out but she does NOT (thank god) end up with Lucrezia in her head.  Crowley and Az manage to arrive in the Bentley (which I picture to be on fire for some reason) in the nick of time.
Unfortunately, Anevka did manage to get a copy of Agatha’s voice before that, and the Geisterdamen decided to take advantage of that.
Tarvek and Tinka hitch a ride with them ( Tarvek for plot reasons I’ll think of later and Tinka because, well, she’s Tinka)
They finally figure out that they’re sparks while they’re fixing the castle.
It’s not because of some grand revelation or all of the sparky fixes they’re adding while following Agatha around.  No, it’s because Moloch takes one look at them and goes “Oh great, two more sparks in this hellhole”  Which generates a whole lot of spluttering on both of their parts where they say “No, I’m not the Spark here, he is.  wait what do you mean I’m the Spark?  I’m not a spark!  Well of course you’re a spark you’ve done [insert semi-impressive feat here], no that wasn’t normal what are you talking about, and of course I could do what you just mentioned all it took was-” and this goes on for several more minutes until Moloch finds a bucket of water to dump on them.
The realization that they’ve both been sparks this entire time is somewhat undermined in all the chaos, Although they do get disbelieving stares from the entire group.
The stares are for 3 different reasons:
There’s Agatha, who’s staring at them because “of course you’re sparks!  I’ve known that since the first time you took off my locket!  You’ve been living together for decades now, how did you miss this?!”
Then there’s the half of the group, who are staring because “How do you not know that you’re a spark???” It’s always kind of... obvious when someone has a breakthrough so even if the person going through it at the time doesn’t realize what it means, everyone around them generally will.  And will make sure to inform them.  usually while armed with torches and pitchforks.
Finally, there’s the other half who are either more oblivious or more science minded and are staring because they just want to know how the hell a Jager is a fucking spark??? (and Aziraphale for that matter, but he’s only Jager-adjacent so he’s a bit more understandable)
(Agatha then has to protect her parents from the third group, since they really wanted to find out how that worked)
I’m not reeeeally sure where I’m going with this after that, but I definitely know that once they get the hang of sparking out at the same time instead of just minioning for each other the two go from individual minor sparks to a terrifying spark duo.
They had already been somewhat doing this with the locket, as while they alternated the nights they each worked on it, they actually fixed any mistakes the other would make the night before
Oh! and some ideas for Agatha in this au:
Agatha actually had less headaches here because she’d describe how it happened and they’d go “well, it’s probably not the same thing but-” and then give her some advice on how they’ve been accidentally repressing or redirecting they’re own sparks.  Didn’t always work but it helped a bit.
She’s also more outgoing here because instead of two stern, caring parents who were literally made to raise children she got these two idiots with no chill.
Like I think Crowley would be a bit more chill about the whole “one day you will have the world heel to you and the rivers will run red with the blood of your enemies” thing because Bill would specifically ask them to make sure she didn’t end up like her ancestors but he’d definitely still egg on her bad ideas.
“Look Angel, one of these days she’s gonna have to break through properly, and then she’ll have all of these ideas built up” Crowley defends to a glaring Aziraphale, who crosses his arms, “It’s best to get the ones we can out now, so that she’ll know not to do the more complex versions”
“Crowley my dear, that would be a perfectly reasonable argument if whatever you just did had not lead to the third lab fire this week! and it’s Tuesday!”
Meanwhile, Aziraphale is generally the more reasonable if stricter parent, though sometimes he can get a bit... overprotective.
“Hey Angel, have you seen Agatha-OH SWEET MAKERS WHATREYOUDOING”
“Hmm? Oh, hello my dear, Agatha should be reading in her room if I remember correctly.  As for my little project, I overheard a few mothers at the market today talking about how they were so worried about they’re children, what with the recent surge of animal constructs, and they were thinking about going to a spark to get some sort of device to ward them off and I realized that Agatha might need something like that as well, what with her breakthrough being on hold.  But I hardly need some idiotic spark getting their hands on my daughter when even I can just as easily make something so simple as a force-field keyed to specific wildlife, really, it’s as if they’ve never even attended University-!”
“Angel, love, that does not explain all of the wires and the burning smell, or why we have two mothers sitting petrified outside.”
“Wha- oh dear, dreadfully sorry Darling.  I told those two that I could whip them up something in a jiffy that wouldn’t cost them nearly as much, although I believe I may have gotten a bit carried away in making the device.  I likely do not need about half of this.  Crowley, could you be a dear and give me a hand cleaning this up?”
“*Sigh* of course, angel.”
So the end result is an Agatha who’s a bit more independent pre-series, although she’s probably got her own set of issues from the weird way she was raised.  She’s likely just as much of an outcast, if not more so what with her parents being one of, if not the only homosexual couple in town.  Now that I think about it, she’s probably a bit more aggressive too (not that she wasn’t pretty aggressive already).

And Then There Were More
To be clear, the entirety of Edgar Allan Poe’s Murder Mystery Dinner Party is perfect and I wouldn’t have it any other way, but here’s what I think might have happened if Chapter 5 had gone slightly differently.
***
“Miss Agatha Christie, we are indeed – Eddie?” Edgar Allan Poe gasped.
Agatha Christie was standing just outside the door, with a man whose arm she was twisting behind his back. The man was unmistakably Eddie Dantes, and he was very much alive. “You know him?” Agatha asked Edgar, releasing her grip on Eddie. “He just tried to stab me,” she added, holding up the small knife she had wrestled from his hand.
“I thought she was the murderer!” Eddie protested, massaging his wrist, as Edgar, Lenore, Emily, and HG all gaped at him in astonishment.
“The murderer?” Christie repeated.
“People have been dying here all night, right?” Eddie appealed to the others.
“Yeah, and you were one of them!” snapped Lenore. “How are you alive? And what are you doing out here?”
Before Eddie could reply, they all heard a scream. They hurried in the direction of the sound, and found Oscar Wilde pounding on the bathroom door, calling, “Mary Ann!”
“What’s going on? Where’s Annabel?” Edgar demanded.
“She went to find you,” Oscar told him. “Wait, Eddie? Are you…a ghost?”
“No, I’m alive, I was just…pretending to be dead, so I could catch the murderer.”
“But… you were the first victim,” HG pointed out. “When you faked your death, there was no murderer to catch yet.”
“George Eliot’s in trouble; let’s talk about this later,” Emily interjected, pushing her way to the front of the group and forcing in the door.
To their dismay, George Eliot was slumped on the floor, with his/her head in a picture frame. While everyone else was frozen in shock, Annabel Lee rushed in. “There you are! What’s-” she stopped suddenly. “Eddie?!” she cried. “You’re alive?!” she threw her arms around him.
“Yes, my dear, I’m so sorry, I-”
“She’s still breathing!” Edgar exclaimed, unsure whether he was more excited that George Eliot was still alive or that it gave him an excuse to interrupt Eddie and Annabel.
To Edgar’s delight, Annabel immediately broke away from Eddie and knelt beside George, who gasped and opened his/her eyes. “I have something important to say.”
“Yes? Who did this to you?” Annabel asked.
“You may not believe it, but I –” taking off the hat, “George Eliot –” and the mustache, “am a woman.”
“Yes, dear, we knew that already, but who-?” but George Eliot had died.
Annabel turned back to Eddie. “How are you alive?” she asked.
“Wait!” Edgar interrupted dramatically. “Where’s Ernest?”
“Let me get this straight,” Agatha Christie broke in. “There’s a murderer in this house, and you’re not keeping track of where everyone is at all times?”
“He was with us in the vault right before you arrived,” HG told her defensively.
“Maybe he’s in the study with Charlotte,” Emily suggested.
“Why aren’t you all staying together?” wondered the baffled Miss Christie. “No wonder you’re all dying. How many deaths have there been so far?”
“Five,” said Edgar.
“Four,” Oscar corrected, nodding to Eddie.
“Okay, now are you going to tell us how you’re still alive?” Lenore asked.
“First let’s make sure Ernest and Charlotte are okay. Then I’ll explain everything,” Eddie promised.
They all returned to the study. Charlotte was tied to the chair, just as they’d left her. Ernest was standing near the doorway, holding a bunch of knives, looking confused. “Where were you?” he asked them.
“We could ask you the same question,” Oscar countered. “What are you doing with all those knives?”
“I brought them for everyone, for protection.”
Agatha groaned and sank into a chair, her face in her hands. “You all are the worst!”
“Who’s she?” Hemingway asked.
“Agatha Christie,” Eddie responded.
“Aren’t you supposed to be dead?” Charlotte asked him. “And aren’t you all satisfied that I can’t be the murderer? How am I still tied up?”
As Ernest used one of his knives to cut through the wires that bound Charlotte, Eddie finally began his tale. “As soon as I took a bite of my soup, I could tell that something was wrong with it.”
“How dare you?!” Lenore cried.
“Someone had clearly poisoned it. I could tell they were trying to kill me, so I decided my best hope of escaping death was to pretend to be dead already. I’ve been trying to catch the murderer, and I thought I’d been successful when I saw Miss Christie at the door.” He glared at her. “I’m still not convinced I was wrong. Where have you been all this time?”
“I told Edgar I was going to be late, as I had a previous engagement. I got here as soon as I could, which wasn’t nearly soon enough, apparently, but shockingly, I don’t expect everywhere I go to give me inspiration for my next mystery novel.”
Emily spoke up. “I had some of the soup.”
“Is that how you died?” Charlotte asked.
“I’m still alive!”
“Which means the soup wasn’t poisoned, and Eddie’s lying!” Edgar hastily concluded.
“Did you eat soup out of my bowl?” Eddie asked.
“No, out of the pot in the kitchen.”
“Then perhaps someone just poisoned my bowl.”
“It must have been Lenore,” Oscar asserted. “She’s the one who served the soup with her weird ghost powers.”
“Okay, will someone please coherently explain exactly what has happened here tonight?” Agatha requested. “I need to know what I missed in order to solve this mystery.”
“I am clearly the best at explaining things concisely,” Ernest bragged, taking a swig from his flask.
“You’re also drunk,” Edgar pointed out, “and as this is my house, I will tell Miss Christie what’s going on.”
Edgar explained as best he could the events surrounding the fake death of Eddie and the real deaths of Louisa May Alcott, Mary Shelley, Fyodor Dostoevsky, and George Eliot. The expression on Agatha Christie’s face grew more and more incredulous as he described their reactions, and she burst out with a loud “WHAT?!” when he mentioned that they had split up to search the house.
“And aside from the vial of poison with the blood on it, you’ve found no clues whatsoever?” Agatha asked him when he’d concluded.
“None,” he confirmed. He hadn’t mentioned the handkerchief because it seemed to implicate Annabel, though the tender way she’d been caressing Eddie’s hand throughout his tale had almost tempted him to do so. Poe glared at the others present, daring them to mention it, but no one was saying anything.
Agatha considered carefully for a moment. “It almost makes sense… Edgar, what painting did you have in your bathroom that George Eliot could have been murdered with?”
Edgar raised an eyebrow. “What kind of person has paintings in their bathroom?”
“I have five in mine,” Oscar remarked.
“What happened to your sleeve?” Agatha asked him.
“Ugh, Miss Brontë spilled wine on it. I was going to change, but I didn’t get the chance,” he added, putting his jacket back on to hide the stain.
“Because you insisted that George go into the bathroom,” Annabel said accusatorially.
“She was covered in birdie bits! I was being a gentleman.”
“Shall we all return to the washroom to see what that painting was?” HG suggested.
“No matter, I know what it was now, thank you,” Agatha responded, to the others’ astonishment.
After a long enough pause to make clear that she was not intending on saying anything further, Ernest blurted out, “So, what was it?”
“What? Oh, a painting of Oscar Wilde, of course. But what I don’t understand is how… there must be… but who…?” she trailed off pensively.
“Eddie, darling, who do you think was trying to kill you?” Annabel asked quietly, trying not to disturb Agatha.
“I don’t know, my dear. I can’t think of any enemies or rivals I might have.” He stared pointedly at Poe.
Annabel followed his gaze. Edgar had clearly overheard them and was fuming. “No, Edgar couldn’t do this,” she insisted. “He’s a good man.”
Eddie snorted. “A good man?” he repeated loudly. “He can’t even hold a dinner party that more than half his guests survive!”
“Hey, way less than half have died!” Edgar objected.
“Yeah, so far,” Eddie scoffed. “Obviously the safest thing was to pretend to be dead.”
“I’m missing something…” Agatha muttered.
“M-may I make a suggestion?” HG stammered.
“By all means,” Edgar sighed.
“If Miss Christie needs more assistance, per- perhaps Lenore could, uh, contact the psychic who conjured her ghost to, uh, summon some of the people who died here tonight? I’m sure at least one of them saw whomever killed them.”
“Surely Miss Christie can solve this murder without the assistance of ghosts,” Eddie asserted.
Agatha considered him carefully. “Miss Christie would be very interested to hear what the ghosts might say,” she informed him.
“Great, I’ll contact Krishanti!” Lenore sounded more cheerful than anyone had all evening.
When Krishanti entered the study, her eyes were immediately drawn to Eddie, the man who was constantly pestering her to bring back his brother. But he pointedly avoided her gaze, so Krishanti followed his lead and hid her recognition. When Guy’s ghost appeared, however, Eddie couldn’t help letting out an audible gasp. When the others stared at him, he quickly whispered, “Who is that? He didn’t die in this house tonight, right?” at which point Guy started his speech, which Charlotte then interrupted by sneezing and blowing out Krishanti’s candle.
As Krishanti hurried out in search of sage, Agatha asked, “Who was that?”
“Guy de Vere, my fiancé,” Lenore responded. “Krishanti could never bring him back, until now apparently.”
“Ah, I see.” Agatha turned to Annabel. “And why did he point to you and say you weren’t a bell?”
Annabel shrugged. “I thought he was saying I wasn’t able, though to do what I’m sure I don’t know.”
“Maybe he was saying she wasn’t A. Bell, like that handkerchief we found in Miss Alcott’s mouth,” Emily suggested.
Agatha turned to Emily enthusiastically. “You found a handkerchief that said A. Bell on it?!” she exclaimed.
Emily blushed and looked at the floor. “Well, not exactly. I mean, I didn’t find it, and it didn’t exactly say A. Bell. It just had the letter A and a picture of a bell. Miss Brontë seemed to think it was Annabel’s, but maybe that ghost was saying it wasn’t.”
Agatha rounded on Edgar. “And you didn’t think this was important enough to tell me?”
“I didn’t want you to think that the beautiful, sweet, innocent, beautiful Annabel Lee could have had anything to do with-”
“Oh, how tiresome of you!” exclaimed Agatha. “That was the piece I was missing. We could have avoided this whole séance if you’d just told me everything like I asked. Well, come on, everyone, we have to stop her!” She started toward the door, but no one followed.
“Er, stop whom?” Oscar asked. “And from what?”
“Stop Anne Brontë from murdering Krishanti, of course!”
“Anne Brontë?” Lenore repeated. “You mean Charlotte?”
“Well, I would, if she wasn’t standing right there. Don’t you see? It must be the other one. Look, I’ll explain in a moment. First, Edgar and Lenore lead the way to the kitchen, which is where I assume Krishanti was headed. I’ll bring up the rear to make sure no one is left behind. Just hurry!”
When they arrived at the kitchen, Krishanti was dialing a number on the telephone, but she wasn’t alone. A woman most of them had never seen before was slowly approaching the psychic, holding a large knife. “Hey!” Lenore shouted, causing Kristanti to jump and drop the phone. When she saw the knife she started to scream, but the woman immediately lowered it and feigned a look of innocence.
“Who are you?” Edgar demanded of the stranger.
“I’m Anne Brontë. So sorry I’m late for dinner, I was just looking for the food.”
“Good luck finding any,” snorted Ernest.
“Anne Brontë wasn’t on our list, was she?” Annabel asked Eddie.
“Wait a minute,” said Edgar, “Eddie told you whom I should invite?!”
Agatha glared at him. “Haven’t you figured it out yet, Mr. Poe?”
Edgar furrowed his brow. “I’m getting there. But what does any of this have to do with A. Bell?”
Agatha pointed to Anne. “Her pen name is Acton Bell. I knew that Eddie and Charlotte were in on this, but as neither of them could have killed George Eliot, there had to be a third person. I couldn’t figure out if it was one of you or someone else, at least until you told me about the handkerchief.”
“What made you think I had anything to do with this?” Charlotte cried.
“You had the greatest opportunity to kill Dostoevsky, and you obviously stained Wilde’s shirt to send him to his death in the washroom.”
Oscar gasped. “You did that on purpose?!”
“Why would I work with someone who was about to foreclose on my house?” Charlotte countered.
“I imagine he told you he’d let you keep your house if you helped him. I also assume he offered to help you cover up the murder of Jane Austen.”
“How can you possibly know about that?” Anne wondered.
Agatha smiled. “Who do you think you’re dealing with?”
“You must be making a mistake, Miss Christie,” said Annabel. “Eddie’s a great guy.”
“Then why would he fake his own death before people started dying? And why would he cheat on you with both Charlotte and Oscar?”
“I thought he was dating me!” Anne protested.
“Ha, in your dreams,” scoffed Oscar.
Annabel had let go of Eddie’s hand and began to shrink away from him, her eyes widening in horror. “Eddie? It’s not true, is it? It can’t be.”
But Eddie was ignoring her, his eyes fixed on Agatha Christie. To everyone’s astonishment and confusion, he suddenly began to clap slowly. The Brontës attempted to join in, but he silenced them and continued his solo slow clap. When this had gone on far longer than anyone else was comfortable with, he stopped clapping and said, “Congratulations, Miss Christie. You figured it out.”
Agatha rolled her eyes. “Of course I did. You knew I would, or you wouldn’t have tried to kill me before I arrived.”
“But, why would you do this, Eddie?” cried Annabel.
He opened his mouth, but before he could reply, Agatha said, “Because he’s Guy de Vere’s brother and a descendant of Edward de Vere, who claimed that Shakespeare stole his work, so he’s trying to get revenge on authors.”
Looking very disappointed at having his villain monologue stolen, Eddie asked, “How could you possibly know that?”
“It was perfectly evident that you and Krishanti recognized each other, and that you recognized the ghost of Guy de Vere. That combined with the fact that all the authors were killed in manners that reflected their work made this the only logical solution.”
“Enough chatter, let’s call the police!” Ernest shouted, a bit louder than necessary.
As Ernest lunged toward the phone, Charlotte pulled a gun out of nowhere and pointed it at him. He leapt back automatically as the others gasped. “No one goes near that phone,” Charlotte ordered.
“It doesn’t matter,” said Agatha. “The police should be here any minute anyway.”
“Why should the police come?” Anne sneered. “Nobody’s called them. We’ve been watching the phone all night. Krishanti’s call was interrupted by all of you, and no one else has used it.”
“Nobody needed to call them,” Agatha responded calmly. “A few days ago, I staged my own disappearance. After making sure it was being investigated, I led a very clear trail to this house. They’ll be here soon.”
“You said you didn’t expect everywhere you go to provide inspiration for your next novel,” Charlotte reminded her.
“Not everywhere I go, certainly, but a murder mystery dinner party at Edgar Allan Poe’s house? It would have been foolish not to take some precautions.”
At that moment, the doorbell rang. Charlotte jumped and dropped the gun; Agatha quickly retrieved it. “I suppose that must be the police. Or were you expecting anyone else, Edgar?”
“No, I don’t think so. Unless Emily Dickinson decided to finally show up.”
“She’s right there,” Agatha told him, nodding toward Emily, who beamed. Agatha pointed the gun at each of the murderers. “Right, you three, let’s go answer the door.”
Everyone followed Agatha and the murderers out of the kitchen except Annabel. When Edgar noticed she wasn’t with them in the hall, he turned back to join her. She was crying softly. “Are you all right?” he asked.
“I courted Eddie because I thought my family would approve. He seemed like such a respectable, great guy. I never imagined he was capable of something like this.”
Edgar didn’t know what to say. “I’m sorry.”
“You don’t understand, Edgar. I’m trying to say that I’m sorry.”
“You don’t have to apologize, Annabel. I know you wouldn’t have brought him if you knew he was going to kill people.”
“I mean, I’m sorry for wasting time we could have spent together.”
This was the last thing Edgar had expected. He was sure he had misheard. “What do you mean?”
Annabel took his hand and smiled through her tears. “I mean, I never loved Eddie. It was always you.”
***
Agatha Christie opened the front door triumphantly.
“Are you Mr. Allan Poe?” asked Constable Jim.
She stared at him in astonishment for a moment. “Um… no. I’m Agatha Christie.”
“Hey, we found her!” Constable Jimmy exclaimed.
“You’re going to want backup,” Agatha told them. “These three all need to be arrested for murder.” She handed the gun to Emily. “Miss Dickinson, hold them until backup arrives. I’m going to go home and divorce my unfaithful husband.”

Markus was seething.
He had planned to sweep in and save Hiro that Halloween but instead The Clan had stumbled across her first. When Hiro made it home, she’d refused to speak to him, refused to answer his calls, and holed herself up in her studio. That was when he had turned to Abby, but she was a poor excuse of a consolation prize. When he’d gotten the information from Abby about Hiro’s mother, he had planned to use that for his own personal gain, but then Scorpion himself informed Markus that he wanted to use Hiro as leverage to get his son back. Before Markus could hand the information over to Scorpion, Abby had murdered Hiro’s mother in a jealous rage. The upshot of all this was that Markus had been given one last chance to prove himself worthy of being heir to the underworld empire that Scorpion had built.
Markus had to eliminate The Clan. All of them. And, along the way, finally claim Hiro as his own. She would acquiesce to him, he was sure, if he put the lives of The Clan on the line. He would not, of course, follow through with any promises he made. To secure his place, they all had to die. Especially Kihyun. He would suffer the most, for ever daring to lay a finger on Hiro. Hiro belonged to him, not that pathetic, weak looking man. He couldn’t protect her. Not the way Markus could.
Markus spat on the floor, ridding his mouth of the accumulation of blood that was the result of his own beating. He’d taken his eye off the game, Scorpion had said, and all for a girl. What he didn’t understand was that as far as Markus was concerned, Hiro was the game, and with her by his side, Markus knew that he would be invincible.
—————
‘Agatha called. She overheard the big ones talking in the hall. They’re planning a move in three days. Just the one target.’ Dreads said to Markus
‘Putting all their eggs in one basket!’
‘Well, they do have form!’ Dreads said with a shrug.
‘They’re idiots. They’re done for this time, for sure.’
‘What’s he like?’ Dreads asked suddenly.
‘Who?’
‘Scorpion’s son.’
‘Jooheon? He’s a wimp. I don’t know why he wants him back.’
‘He seems to do ok in The Clan…’
‘Why do you think Scorpion ordered the hit? They boy was pathetic, an embarrassment.’
‘So why does he want him back?’
‘He’s getting old?’ Markus said with a shrug.
‘Don’t let him hear you say that!’ Dreads said in a panicked whisper.
‘What’s he going to do, shoot me? I’m his second. His prodidgy.’ Markus smiled maniacally. Dreads gulped, but nodded in agreement. He began to move away, but Markus grabbed his wrist and held him in place.
‘He dies this time, Dreads. None of them are going to make it through this alive, do you understand?’ Dreads nodded.
‘And the girl?’ He asked tentatively.
‘No one touches her. No one.’
‘Markus…’
‘No one, Dreads. We may need her. She’s the best leverage we have over any of them.’ Dreads visibly relaxed at his words, appeased by Markus’s argument. Markus had been on edge since Abby’s death, the rumblings about his sanity, and obsession with The Clan’s pet, as they were referring to Hiro, had been steadily growing. The argument he’d just laid down was a solid one and Dreads couldn’t fault it.
‘What do you need?’ He asked.
—————
Hiro and Kihyun found themselves in a cafe a couple of days after Abby’s death. It was a cosy, local one, but referring to it as a date couldn’t have been father from either of their minds. All members of The Clan had been making their movements and conversations more public than any of them were comfortable with, and it left them all on edge, even if it was a necessary evil. To the casual observer, the pair would be nothing more than a young couple in love. In reality they were both listening intently to Hyungwon, who was jabbering away in both of their ears. Somehow they managed to make their conversation flow naturally despite their being a third party involved.
‘Well, shit!’ Hyungwon exclaimed suddenly.
‘What?’ Hiro asked, eyes focused on Kihyun, a coy smile on her face.
‘The sod’s actually coming in… honestly this guy isn’t normal…’
‘You attract a very certain type of man, don’t you, darling!’ Kihyun said sweetly.
‘I don’t know whether to be flattered or offended.’
‘Sounds to me like he’s either dissing you, or dissing himself. Knowing Kihyun it’s probably the latter, but he hasn’t got the smarts to realise it yet!’ Hyungwon sassed.
‘Be flattered. I may not be his brand of crazy, but I know for sure I’m crazy in love with you.’ Kihyun said, lacing their fingers together.
‘Good save!’ Hiro complimented. Hyungwon made a wretching sound.
‘You two are sickening. I’m not even there and I’m cringing.’
‘I think someone’s jealous!’ Hiro said. Kihyun opened his mouth to respond, but the bell above the door rang and he promptly shut his mouth. They both heard an engine rev in their ears.
‘I’ll be outside in ten. Whenever you’re ready. I don’t want either of you in the same place as that madman for any longer than necessary. If looks could kill, Kihyun, you’d be hella dead, yesterday.’
‘We’ll have to come back here after it’s done.’ Kihyun said, voice louder than before. They’d both registered Markus taking a seat against the counter, his back to them, and they had no doubt he would be listening carefully to every word they were saying.
‘That would be nice.’ Hiro said, leaning towards Kihyun. ‘I’ll be glad when it’s all over.’
‘I know, darling. Not long.’
‘It will work won’t it?’ Hiro allowed worry to lace her tone. ‘I mean, Jooheon is only remembering fragments.’
‘He’s remembered enough. It will get us in.’
‘I can’t believe I have to go to the docks again… after the last time... Well, I’d hoped it was a one and done thing!’
‘I know. But, it’s not all bad, it is? It’s like fate allowed you to fall into my lap.’ All three of them chuckled at this, remembering all too well how badly Kihyun had reacted that night.
‘You were quite the knight in shining armor.’ Hiro said, stoking the fire of the ruse.
‘I know, how will you ever repay me?’ Kihyun said.
‘Is my undying love not enough?’ Hiro said, feigning shock.
‘It’s a good start.’
‘But…?’
‘But, what?’
‘There’s a big “But” there…’ Hiro said, raising an eyebrow at Kihyun.
‘Oh, my darling, there is so much you can do to satisfy my needs. You’re already so good at so many of them.’ Kihyun said seductively, grinning evilly at Hiro, who matched it with a grin of her own. Hyungwon was cackling in their ears and Markus slammed his cup down so hard on the counter it broke clean in two and coffee spilled everywhere. In the midst of the ruckus caused, Hiro and Kihyun slipped out of the cafe, only to stop in front of the window and engage in a heated kiss right where they knew Markus could see them.
Hyungwon was still laughing when they climbed into the car and set off home.
‘Look at his face!’ Hyungwon said, indication the security camera still that was showing on one of the iPads in the car.
‘He is not a happy bunny!’ Kihyun said, blandly. He was taking all this very well, but Hiro took on look at the image and a shiver ran down her spine. It was clear that Markus desired nothing more than Kihyun’s immediate demise.
‘Pretty poor disguise too! I mean really!’ Hyungwon said.
‘I’m sure they’re happy continuing to underestimate us. We’ve already go a track record of playing into their hands. It’s serving us well right now.’ Kihyun said. Hiro was still fixated with the picture.
‘Hiro. Earth to Hiro. Are you ok?’ Kihyun said, turning in his seat. For once he was not in the back with Hiro and had taken the passenger seat. Hiro looked up at him and bit her lip.
‘You are taking him seriously, Markus I mean. He wants you dead, Kihyun. He’s determined.’
‘I know.’
‘You just seem so… calm.’
‘Fake it till you make it!’
‘Kihyun…’
‘Hiro, darling, it’s ok. We’ve got this. And if I have anything to do with it, I’m not going anywhere. OK?’
‘OK.’ Hiro said. ‘I have one condition, though.’
‘Oh?’
‘Don’t call me darling!’
‘What do you want me to call you… my love, light of my life, dear heart, honey bunny, pooh bear, boo…’
‘Stop, stop, stop!’ Hiro cried, pressing her hands to her ears. ‘Stop, please! Oh what did I do…’
‘Oh man, you know what this mean, Hiro? We’re going to have to put up with an ever changing roster of sappy nicknames.’ Hyungwon said. Hiro groaned as Kihyun continued to fire off suggestions.
—————
‘And you mentioned Jooheon?’
‘Yes, Shownu.’
‘And the docks?’
‘Yes, Shownu.’
‘And…’
‘Yes, Shownu.’
‘But I didn’t…’
‘Everything we talked about was said!’ Hiro said, with finality.
‘All right.’ Shownu sat down and rubbed his knees, something Hiro had noticed he only did when he was particularly anxious.
‘Want to talk?’ She asked him. Shownu looked up, shook his head, sighed, and then nodded. Hiro took a seat in one of the empty chairs and waited.
‘Are we doing the right thing?’ Shownu asked. ‘Should we be taking this fight to them?’
‘Scorpion brought the fight to our front door. Hell yes we should burn their house to the grown!’ Shownu smiled.
‘Besides,’ Hiro carried on, ‘we’ve been looking over out shoulders since this whole thing began. And I, for one, don’t want to be looking backwards my entire life, and I don’t think you boys do either. We all may walk on the wild side, but that doesn’t mean we have to settle of a life of never ending death and despair. I’m choosing sunshine and roses. We know we can do this. We won’t even be there when it happens, Changkyun has made sure of that.’
‘I know. But you and Kihyun…’
‘We know what we’re doing. And I’ve told you the back-up plan.’
‘What if that doesn’t work.’
‘It’ll work.’
‘Hiro, you have no guarantee!’
‘I don’t need one. I have faith.’
‘In what?’
‘In you. In the boys. In myself. That’s all I need.’
‘Hiro, if we all make it through this alive I swear I will never question your judgement again!’ Shownu said with utter sincerity. Hiro laughed gently.
‘Sure you will. And I won’t think any less of you when you do!’ She said softly. She stood up and placed a gently kiss on the top of his head.
‘It will play out as it’s meant to.’ She said. ‘Now, try for some sleep, won’t you?’
‘Can I hold on to your faith?’
‘As tight as you like.’
‘Thank you. Then I’ll try.’
—————
Kihyun was already in bed, engrossed in a book, by the time Hiro walked in and started getting ready for bed.
‘He ok?’ He asked her as she was pulling on pajamas.
‘He’s worried. But he wouldn’t be Shownu if he wasn’t worried.’
‘Frankly, I’d be worried if Shownu wasn’t having a crisis of confidence about now.’ Kihyun said. ‘He keeps us all grounded.’
‘I’m well aware. That’s why he’s in charge. If it were any of the rest of you it would be a bloody riot.’
‘It may end up being a bloody riot anyway.’
‘True, but at least it will be a well organized riot. Right on schedule.’ Kihyun chuckled at that. Putting the book down he stretched his arms out to Hiro.
‘Come to bed.’ He said, a wicked smile playing on the corner of his lips.
‘What’s with the smile?’ Hiro asked.
‘I've worked out the only nickname that will ever work for you - and I’m not the only one who uses it.’ Hiro’s brow furrowed in confusion. Kihyun crawled towards her, Hiro still standing by the edge of the bed.
‘Come on, Little Painter, come to bed.’ He said gently, taking her hands in his and pulling her towards him. Hiro didn’t resist him as she smiled into the kiss.

The Accident
Triger Warning: death, blood, cursing, depression, anxiety, drama
Hello  my name is April dexter hogan and I'm about to tell you the story of my life
I've been in a coma for a while and woke up. at that time I was 13 y/o and found out that me and my family had a car accident, after I healt my parents took me home and I lived my life again well so I thought, shortly after I got home my best friend Kyle commit suicide and I felt alone so every night I went to visit her grave that was all fine until...
14 August 2017
Today I went to visit Kyle's grave when I arrived there I felt like I was being watched. I didn't think any of it until I heard footsteps behind me and when I turned around I saw a person. "Who are you?" was the only thing I could say. "April it's me Jack, you need to come with me back home please." I was shocked. This boy just told me he was my brother wich I obviously don't believe. I didn't think long until I grabbed my stuff and ran back home. The boy followed me but I was fast enough to lose him on my way home. Since it is pretty late I just went to bed I had a pretty wierd dream. it was about me sitting in the back of  a car  with the boy from Kyle's grave and two older people in the front they were saying something like "Jack protect April!". that's when the boy grabbed me and huged me quit tight. Then a car crushed into the front and all I could hear was screaming and crying. My eyes were pressed close because I was so scared I kept blacking out because I hit my head pretty hard. I could hear the boy screaming something like "APRIL PLEASE DON'T LEAVE ME, STAY WITH ME". After that everything went black and I woke up
1 week later
Today I am visiting Kyle's grave again. While I was telling Kyle what was happening in my life the boy came again and asked if we could talk. Maybe he knows something about this dream I had was the first thing that popped in my mind so I talked to him. " I'm just gonna tell you who I am cause I don't think you remember me, my name is jack I am 15 and I am your older brother" he said. I just nodded. He continued with " the people you think are your parents aren't your real parents mom and dad died in the car accident. Please you need to believe me" "I don't know, I mean I did have a dream about some kind of car accident with you and two older looking people but why should I believe you? "I asked. He looked at me "April that are your memories coming back, please come back home to granny with me". I stood up and walked back to the grave. When I looked at the grave I had this feeling I didn't know what it was but I nodded and said "fine. I'm coming with you but this better not be some kind of Prank" he then walked me to a big house and when we walked in I saw this lady she looked old maybe 65 she said "April is it you darling?" "I'm sorry do I know you?" she looked at jack and said "it's worse then I expected it to be" they walked me to a room in which I felt weirdly comfortable. We played some games and when the old lady called Agatha gave me a hot coco I got this bad headache there were memories that kept coming back and I could remember them " JACK, GRANNY!" Was what I screamed after I remembered them. They hugged me and for the first time I was happy again
1 year later
Today was my first day of middle school. It was pretty good if you asked me, I met this girl called Annie and we got along really good. Right now I was on my way home to jack and my grandmother Agatha. Since it was fall it began to become dark and next to me was a driving car it kept going slower and slower and when the person opened the window I could see who it was. It was the person I once called dad. So I ran for it, I ran like my live dependent on it because technically it did. When I reached my house I rang the doorbell and granny opened the door. At this point I was beginning to tear up. She asked me what happened but I just hugged her and began sobbing into her shoulder. Then I realized something weird, Jack wasn't at home. "w-were is j-jack" was all I was able to say. She looked at me with worry in her eyes and said "sweetie he is in the hospital.." w-what?! " that only made me cry harder if that was even possible in that moment." he didn't feel good in school today so he came home and then he got sick and when I went to get him medicine I came back and saw him lying there unconscious" I ran into my room. I couldn't loose my brother again. That night was the first time ever that I cried myself to sleep.
A few days later
Since I heard jack is in the hospital I barely ate and slept. I mostly listened to music and cried. My grandma was worried because I didn't talk to anyone. That was when she got a phone call, I didn't hear what they were saying. She walked into my room, sat next to me on my bed and hugged me " I'm so sorry kiddo, Jack has brain cancer" at this point we were both crying " no.. Please tell me your kidding! TELL ME THIS IS A BAD PRANK!" " I can't.. the doctors gave him a week I'm sorry.." "can I be alone for a moment please?.." I said numb. She nodded and walked out of my room. I closed the door and sat on my bed taking the news in. I spotted a knife on my desk and looked at it thinking if I should do it. I was going to grab it but then my granny knocked on my door saying she was going to make dinner.
I thought about it and walked out of the door " I'm going to visit Jack.." was what I said before grabbing my back and walking out of the front.
3 days later
Jack was getting worse he couldn't really talk he didn't eat. The machines were kepping him alive
We went back home and the next day I wanted to visit it was to late the doctors told me Jack died last night at point 3 am. When I got home I walked straight to my room and cried the whole day that night I just couldn't sleep knowing I lost my brother so I walked downstairs in to the kitchen took the knife and walked back upstairs. In my room I took a sheat of paper and a pencil and wrote my grandma a letter. I placed the later on my bed sat in my chair and cut my wrist open. I could feel myself fainting. I tried to scream because it hurt so bad but all you could hear were whimpers. I could see blood running down my body that's when everything went black.
                                    agatha's pov
As I walked in April's room I saw her lying on the ground covered in blood. I tried to feel her pouls but it was to late so I called the police and they gave me a letter that they found on April's bed
'dear grandma
If you read this letter then I am probably death i just want you to know that I love you, so much. It wasn't your fault I just couldn't handle the pain of mom, dad, Kyle and Jack gone I wasn't strong enough to loose myself again . I'm sorry I left you alone. Please stay strong for me
Love April '
As I read the letter I cried. Both of my little angels were gone. First Jack now April. And I couldn't even tell her who was responsible for her parents death...
9 hours earlier

★ FILL IN THE QUESTIONS AS IF YOU ARE BEING INTERVIEWED FOR AN ARTICLE AND YOU WERE YOUR MUSE.
TAGGED BY: @thegreatvampirekiller
TAGGING: Anyone who wants to I guess.
1. WHAT IS YOUR NAME?  “Lydia Scarlet.”
2. WHAT IS YOUR REAL NAME? “Lydia Agatha Scarlet.”
3. DO YOU KNOW WHY YOU’RE CALLED THAT?  “Well, my pathetic excuse for a mother thought that Lydia Bennet was the ideal daughter, loved parties and got married to some asshole who took advantage of her when she was sixteen? Obviously the life any parent wants for their daughter. I picked my middle name myself, after Agatha Christie.”
4. ARE YOU SINGLE OR TAKEN?  “I’m very much taken by my darling husband, Alexander Scarlet.”
5. WHAT ARE YOUR POWERS AND ABILITIES?  "I can play piano, manage a school library, and according to my husband write decent poetry.”
6. WHAT COLOR ARE YOUR EYES?  “They’re brown.”
7. HAVE YOU EVER DYED YOUR HAIR?  “I have, yes. I dyed it blonde at one point. It’s back to it’s normal color now, but I wouldn’t be opposed to dying it again.”
8. DO YOU HAVE ANY FAMILY MEMBERS?  "Oh gosh, a whole list of them. Peter and Neena, a plethora of siblings through Peter, and some nieces and nephews I think. Theo, who basically became my older brother, and his husband Nathan, then their son who I suppose would be my nephew. Molly’s my ghost sister, and then Lea is another sister. Alexander, of course. A plethora of adopted and honorary children. Catherine, the twins, and my half sister Janice are the only blood family who count.”
9. DO YOU HAVE ANY PETS?  “Three cats. Ernest and Hercule are tuxedo cats, and Lloyd’s an asshole cat. But they’re all great, and wonderful around the kids.”
10. TELL ME ABOUT SOMETHING YOU DON’T LIKE.  “Some former Arkham employee who lost her doctorate. I never had to deal with her in a major capacity and she still traumatized me.”
11. DO YOU HAVE ANY HOBBIES OR ACTIVITIES YOU DO IN YOUR SPARE TIME?  "Reading, listening to music, spending time with my family.”
12. HAVE YOU EVER HURT ANYONE BEFORE?  “Yes. And, excluding when I hurt someone to protect a loved one, I do regret hurting people.”
13. HAVE YOU EVER… KILLED ANYONE?  “The bitch mentioned in question 10, I didn’t kill her, but I wanted to. I mean, what monster tells someone that their loved one almost died and then laughs? If I had actually been able to breathe, I don’t think Theo would’ve been able to stop me in time.”
14. WHAT KIND OF ANIMAL ARE YOU? “I have absolutely no idea.”
15. NAME YOUR WORST HABITS.  “I suppose my excessive worrying could fit, not that it’s really a habit.”
16. DO YOU LOOK UP TO ANYONE?  “I do, mostly classical literature authors. I also look up to Peter Vincent because he’s the first person who actually was a good parent to me.”
17. GAY, STRAIGHT, OR BISEXUAL?  “Demisexual, grey-aromantic.”
18. DO YOU GO TO SCHOOL?  “I did, I graduated just before I turned seventeen, and I have a master’s degree in library sciences.”
19. DO YOU EVER WANT TO MARRY AND HAVE KIDS SOMEDAY?  “If you had asked me this when I was twenty, I would have said hell no. But, I’m happily married, and I have several adopted children, and three biological children. So my answer now would be yes, and I already have.”
20. DO YOU HAVE ANY FANS?  “I don’t know, I doubt it.”
21. WHAT ARE YOU MOST AFRAID OF?  “Losing my family.”
22. WHAT DO YOU USUALLY WEAR?  “Some black slacks, with ankle high boots, and some sort of blouse. At least for work.”
23. DO YOU LOVE SOMEONE?  “Pardon my language, but, fuck yes!”
24. WHAT CLASS ARE YOU?   “I’m not a teacher dear. If this is a economic thing, middle class. If this is a fantasy thing, a mage or a wizard.”
25. HOW MANY FRIENDS DO YOU HAVE?  “More than I ever thought I’d have.”
26. WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS ON PIE?  “It depends on the pie, though I do enjoy it if it’s well made.”
27. FAVORITE DRINK?  “Earl grey.”
[No. 28 seems to have disappeared…]
29. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE PLACE?  “The office/library in our house. It’s so cozy, and there’s always at least one family member in there.”
30. ARE YOU INTERESTED IN SOMEONE?  “If you haven’t figured out by now how much I am interested and in love with my husband, I don’t know how much this answer will help.”
31. WHAT’S YOUR DICK SIZE?  “I don’t have one. Next question please.”
32. WOULD YOU RATHER SWIM IN THE LAKE OR THE OCEAN?  “I suppose ocean, just because the beach around is nicer.”
33. WHAT’S YOUR ‘TYPE’?  “Alexander Stirling Scarlet.”
34. ANY FETISHES?  “If answering this will make you stop asking about my bedroom life... A loving relationship, built on mutual respect and trust.” “Also, neck kisses are pretty hot. But only if they’re from Alexander”
35. TOP OR BOTTOM? DOMINANT OR SUBMISSIVE?  “That’s none of your damn business.”
36. CAMPING, OR INDOORS?  “I do love this little cabin Alexander and I have taken the kids to. But I suppose since that has some electric commodities and running water it’d qualify as indoors. So I’ll say indoors.”
37. ARE YOU WAITING FOR THIS INTERVIEW TO BE OVER?  “Apart from a few rather prying questions, it was a good interview. So not necessarily.”
