thundermans future au

This won't so much have a concrete plot as just stuff I think would happen in rough chronological order.

So I would like to make clear that I never finished the show so I’m going off the wiki for how it ends.From what I read it says that max and phoebe become the leaders of a new elite hero group and they hire the rest of the family to be part of it and i think that’s stupid so I’m changing it. Instead of their family they recruit a bunch of other heroes their age and their family stays in hiddenville that’s it.

So Max and Phoebe graduate in 2018 I think so right after that they go full into hero stuff and leading the group. I know the whole last season was basically phoebe not trusting that max was fully a hero now and I want to extend that. Since the whole team will be other teen heroes who probably mostly remember max for how hard he was trying to be a supervillain, max is still going to have to deal with a lot of shit.

Throughout the show we see hank and barb treat phoebe better than max, which is presumably what lead him to wanting to break away from the hero role that was expected of him. His whole mentality is that it’s better to not try at all than risk failing, the fear that your best isn’t good enough, failing in this case meaning not living up to his parents expectations. We can see evidence of this thinking in the episode where max is continually failing math and phoebe finds out that he doesn’t even try bc he’s scared of failing. This does not go away overnight and max will likely need to spend a long time working on his own self worth.

Also max did spend a few years of his life actively trying to become a villain, even if it was just a phase I don’t believe that none of the villain mentality stuck. Sure deep down he doesn’t want to physically hurt anyone but what is his internal policy on theft, cheating, lying? Furthermore he has to be fully aware of the injustice that exists in hero society from experiencing it himself and being influenced by the likes of dr colosso over the years so I believe he is currently working with an “i can fix it from the inside” viewpoint.

All that combined will likely cause massive amounts of friction between him and the team. I think that if they were doing missions as a side thing until everyone graduated and everyone had less constant exposure to each other the inevitable breakdown could be staved off but once they start spending time together and going on missions full time the cracks in the foundation would be immediate. I give it maybe a year before everything goes to shit and max once again quits being a hero, only this time he’s not going back to being a villain but rather some in between as a chaotic neutral vigilante.

With max out of the hero game phoebe is scrambling to pick up the pieces. Pr decides to fix the mess by completely redoing phoebes hero persona to distract from everything. She gets upgraded from thunder girl to thunder woman, solo leader of Z-force and gets painted as the “feminist hero”. Not that she didn’t already hold any feminist views they’re just really leaning into the marketing. Since billy and Nora are set to debut as heroes they get pushed into the thunder twins role.

Nora is greatly frustrated with being stuck with billy, especially since he usually gets the credit for her ideas. She comes up with a plan, he runs and does it, teamwork. Except billy gets all the attention from the press, leading him to get more attention from hero society.

Max leaving hero work undoes a lot of closeness that was between him and phoebe resulting in the two barely speaking anymore and everyone only ever really seeing max at big family holidays.

A few things I’m just gonna put in bullets bc it’s important to know

Both max and phoebe are autistic, bc I said so

They are both queer. Not sure exactly what labels they fall under but it's not straight and both are suffering from comphet/internalised homophobia. Basically max is be gay do crime, phoebe is be gay fight crime.

Chloe is their cousin who they occasionally babysit, not the fith sibling. Adding another child was a completely stupid move I dont care

Hank and barb are not good parents

Billy is not an idiot, just oblivious which is valid

So we cut to five years later. Phoebe is a well established young hero, the z-force team function as a teen titans thing where they meet up regularly to fight crime as a team while still doing solo hero work. Max is doing vigilante shit and was initially doing freelance tech stuff to finance it but at some point a rich client screwed him over so he stole all his money. His newest venture is to get rid of all of the hypocrisy inside the hero community and he's trying to figure out the best way to go about it. Billy and nora are rising stars in the hero world but mad that she constantly gets overlooked, nora sabotages billy so that he will get cancelled on social media and she can advance.

Phoebe is dating a female hero named chromatica with light powers but wider society does not know about this bc phoebe has to keep up her image and being gay will hurt that or whatever excuse her homophobic pr team gave. The building pressure and max releasing blackmail he has on multiple corrupt hero's puts a strain on their relationship and at one point she has a complete breakdown causing her to track max down and they finally have an actual conversation after years of not speaking.

Nora's scheming leads to a massive falling out between her and Billy. Not wanting them to go through the same thing they went through, max and phoebe get billy and nora together so that they can all talk about their issues as a family. They come to realise that no matter how much they want to deny it, they all are still fighting to get out of their parents shadows, trying to be the perfect heroes. Even max, who at this point is much happier with his life than his siblings, is still effected by his parents. This whole talk does not fix everything, they all still have the same problems they went into it with, at least now they know they can rely on each other.

Billy is still trying to do pr cleanup and as an apology nora is publicly supporting him. Phoebe's relationship is still in ruins and she realises that its going to take more than an apology to fix things. Coming out is not the answer bc she is still dealing with a lot of internalised homophobia on top of the potential stress of being a queer superhero who has to defend themselves against millions of people and she is not ready for that.

Okay can we talk about something for a moment???

(Warning: Spoilers for the new Thundermans movie)

The Thundermans have a LOT of things they introduced into the series but never touched in again.

…

So I made a list of things I want them to revive or at least expand on-

- Billy and Nora (or even Chloe) getting their thunder sense. They only mentioned it in season 1 episode 13, and literally never talked about it again (from what I remember.) I want to see them expand on, use it in battle, and more importantly, I want to know if it’s just a Thunderman trait or if other heroes have that trait. Do villains have that trait? After all, they did reveal in the movie that superheroes and villains get their powers from a plant.

- speaking of the plant, is there multiple plants? Why was the thunderman family chose to keep it safe? How many generations ago did people get powers? Why those people? What created the plant?

- also I’m just saying it now, I need Max and Phoebe to hang out with Billy and Nora. Like we barely see them interacting. I’d literally do ANYTHING for an episode of Max and Nora hanging out, Phoebe and Billy hanging out, vise versa… I know there was like one episode in the series, but that’s only one and Max was being a dick.

- I NEED to see an episode of what it would be like if Max did take over the world. Like how he did it. Did he become a superhero to get a bunch of secrets and feed them to Dark Mayhem? Or maybe it’s just an alternative au when Phoebe failed to turn him, and said the original uncut scene instead, where she asked him if he’d rather be a hero or a villain. Obviously we wouldn’t be able to see them as teens, but maybe they could explain it in the beginning. Like maybe Colosso is telling a story. Like clue style.

- OH. SPEAKING OF CLUE, maybe a murder mystery episode??? I think that would be awesome. Kinda like the blue bean episode where max turned blue. But like. ✨murder✨

- So… I can’t be the only one that wants at least a little queer rep, right…? And I’m not the only one who thinks Max is a little… fruity… (as long as Jack Griffo is okay with it) give him a boyfriend or something PLEASE 😭

- Because Max and Phoebe are I think like… 25…. I’d like to see them attempt being adults. Key word: attempt. (basically I just to see them get an apartment and what not, and obviously the Thundermans are sad, and their siblings find it hard not having their older siblings in the house.

- And I think maybe even Chloe not knowing much about cousin Blobbin, their pop-pop, or grandma (I forgot what they called her) would be interesting as well.

- also what happened to Blobbin???

- anyway

- I’m just kinda writing stuff out

- I think they were already thinking about expanding on it, but since several of the Thundermans friends +Wong have powers, I’d like to see how they deal with keeping it a secret or if they somehow get the powers removed. Like maybe they use that ball thing they used to trap Dark Mayhems powers. OH. WHAT IF THEY ACCIDENTALLY GAVE THEM MAYHEMS POWERS IN THE PROCESS OF TRYING TO TAKE THEIR POWERS?!

- Okay this kinda goes into Phoebe and Max becoming adults, but I wanna know if they went to college or if they are going to college.

- also, Max talks about having Evilgram in one episode (maybe a couple), and I’m curious if he kinda just forgot about it or deleted it. He probably deleted it, but I think it would be cool seeing Max find Evilgram on his old phone and miss that phase of his life. Maybe that could even tie in with an evil Max episode.

- ALSO I WANT TO SEE MAX USING HIS GADGETS IN BATTLE. HE SPENT SO MUCH TIME MAKING THEM IT’S UNFAIR IF HE CANT USE THEM.

I’m probably missing a lot of small moments but honestly I’m just going back and rewatching some of the episodes and I’ve been kinda jumping around so i do t remember all of them-

Anyhow I think it’s awesome that the Thundermans are coming back to life (that is if the movie gets good reviews. PLEASE LIE AND SAY IT WAS GOOD EVEN THOUGH THE CGI WAS CRAP. THE PLOT WAS ACTUALLY GOOD.)

I blame myself for rewatching The Thundermans so when I look at it. I think of Dire and Clara fsmily

Except Dire is a retired villain known as “Gracious Raven” and I see Clara a retired beloved superhero. And these two didn’t knew each other after their wedding and also Sialia. So they got a surprise for it when both had a secret identity. They mutually understood each other retiring for a normal life and honest family. And they got what they wanted. Their identities isn’t changing anything.

literally all of them, my illness is making me so damn slow 😔✊🏻 if we're talking in general, there's the usual suspects, i.e. Be My Valentine? and Danger on Deck but there's also Partners in Crime (fighting). I've had the concept since 2021, and I even had a lot of the first chapter done, but then I thought of a much cooler concept, so I had to scrap it and start over. Since these are wrapped questions, and we're talking just this year, I'd say my fake dating au. I also wrote four different first chapters for it, but none of them work rip I could’ve had so much of it posted now, if I could just,,,figure out where/how to start 🙃

19. What’s one pairing you want to explore next year?

Max and Charlotte! But, i don't mean Max Thunderman, I mean Max Suite Life.

20. Which work of yours have you reread the most?

from the works on ao3,,, I don't usually reread stuff I've posted to ao3 unless I have to alsdkfj the perfectionist in me makes me edit my work very literally hundreds of times, so by the time I post it, I'm absolutely sick of it, and I just want to put it out there and be done with it forever.

I'm currently in the process of rewriting Be My Valentine? (I'm not making any major changes, my writing is just leaps and bounds better than it was) so i've reread it dozens of times in the last few months alone for editing purposes lmao so it’s probably that

Why Marse isn’t Incest, A Short Essay.

In the specific case of Lab Rats, Marse not being incest is believing in Alternative Canon/Alternative universe. Just because they say something in a show doesn’t mean that fanfiction needs to completely align with canon. I wouldn’t ship an actual sibling pair, that’s gross.

Well who decided that it was incest? if it was incest there wouldn't be at least 20 fics with that ship on fanfiction(.)net, it's hard to tell because FFN only added the pairing definition thing after Lab Rats was already established as a fandom. And 18 fics with that pairing on archive of our own, including one that just got posted this month.

You can't bully someone just because you don't like their ship. It's not my only ship. But it's dumb that you guys are bullying people when everyone has different beliefs about how the rats were created.

Marcus was an android in canon, and in an AU where he's human and Douglas' didn't use his own DNA to make him, and in either universe Marcus wasn't raised with the rats.

A) Marcus is an android.

B) Marcus never acknowledged the ABC being his siblings, just Daniel.

C) So logically, Douglas only used his own DNA to create Daniel, and Marcus wasn’t raised with the rats so not only are they NOT genetically related but Marcus was not raised with the rats so it isn’t incest even if the rats being raised together makes the rats times each other incest.

D) If it was actually incest, there would not have been Marse fanfics from the beginning. Yes I realise that people are fucked up but most of the fics in the fandom are from kids/teens that were watching the show at the time not disgusting adults.

F) You should be attacking the Thundermans fandom for all the Thundercest, not a ship that PEOPLE HAVE HEADCANONS/ALTERNATE CANON/THEIR OWN AUS SPECIFICALLY TO MAKE IT NOT INCEST.

FANFICTION DOES NOT HAVE TO FOLLOW CANON IT CAN BE WHATEVER YOU WANT IT TO BE. IF I SAY THAT THEY ARE NOT SIBLINGS/COUSINS IN MY UNIVERSE THEB THEY ARE NOT SIBLINGS/COUSINS.

honestly i haven’t worked on aa stuff in awhile bc my adhd brain is focusing on a bunch of shows i can binge, such as umbrella academy, stranger things, henry danger and technically mighty med though i just watched that 2 hour analysis on it and not the actual thing. im probably gonna rewatch the thundermans when im done with the danger boy. and then TUA season 3 is coming out and i’m gonna obses over that until st vol 2 comes out and byler happens (it’s happening 100%) and i’ll be going BONKERS over that for a good while lmao

back to aa, i’ve actually had about 5k words of the maya + ryunosuke group done for like awhile, and i could post part of it if you’re interested, and maybe it’ll help motivate me to actually write it lol. sadly none of the really cool stuff would happen in the first chapter if i cut it short, but i guess that’s okay lmao

Happy 17th Birthday!

As an older person, there are some people much younger than me in my life who have entered it and changed the entire trajectory of what I thought my life was and took up such a great space that whenever they move along, I just know that there will always at least be a space in my heart, where the space on our path together has ended. This is a tribute to one of those people, but also a look at beloved characters whose lives are forever changed by someone who came into it.

@kiddangers HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! I threw this together whenever I found out. Try to forgive and excuse all of the following: rushing, typos, confusion, and malarkey. I meant well. I hope you can enjoy.

Happy 17th Birthday!

Whenever Charlotte initially got pregnant, she knew almost immediately and wanted to confirm quickly, so that she could tell Max, just as fast. She had it all planned out. She took the test, cleaned and preserved it, made a little gift basket, and planned a special dinner to give him the news. It came in the form of a miniature sized supersuit, sewn together to be practically identical to Max’s but… for a tiny human. He stared at it, eyes welling up with tears and she then gave him the gift basket. Congrats! Stuff and Baby memorabilia let him know that this was exactly what he thought it was. He had tears streaming down his face as he collected her into a hug. One more person to love with all of his heart…

And that was exactly what happened. Now, the beginning was pretty rocky. For one thing, Max had to learn that apparently his super genes wouldn’t win in the gestation time table. 😤

After a couple of weeks, she showed no changes, except for seemingly endless discomfort. In the mornings, she was nauseated. In the evenings, her appetite was terrible (nothing sounded good to her and everything she wanted sounded disgusting to him), and all along the way, she would have various complaints - her nipples, her bowels, headaches, fatigue… WHEN was this kid gonna put his poor little wife out of this misery? “Why aren’t you changing?” He wondered.

She knew what he meant. She had known a few supers and she knew that their pregnancy went very differently than hers would. She simply reminded him, “I’m a nonsupe, Max. My body doesn’t do what theirs does.”

He nodded, “I get that, but I don’t get why half of them isn’t taking care and speeding this up, some.”

“Because… how could they? They’re being hosted in my body. My nutrients and my abilities are all that they have to work within. Sorry, My Greatest.”She kissed him on the cheek then dragged herself to bed. She was tired and not feeling well, hoping at least that her symptoms might die down soon. He was very eager to meet whoever this little one would be, but he was more eager to see her stop being so uncomfortable.

Max studied and did some experimentation… He probably could easily speed up this process, but unsure of the effects that might be had on either or both wife and baby - he wouldn’t risk it. Not even for science. Nothing came before her and nothing would come before Baby Max either.

So, after declaring, "He's gonna take a full 9 months, isn't he?" He gifted Charlotte with a new invention.

“Should I be worried?” She wondered.

“No. You’ll be relieved!” He said and placed a bracelet on her left wrist. It looked similar to one that he had on and she wondered just what this was all about, but as he tinkered with it, she realized something… she felt great! She wasn’t tired. Her belly wasn’t bothering her. This was her first reprieve from symptoms in at least two months! He smiled slightly and wondered, “Relieved, right?”

“Yes! How does this work? Every pregnant person needs it, right away!” She cheered.

He sighed and said, in a low, exhausted voice, “I don’t know how well it would go over in the world. It’s a transferral system. That was the only thing that I could get to work in order to take away the discomfort. Maybe I’ll have a better model in the future.”

“Transferral system? So, it doesn’t alleviate my symptoms, it just takes them elsewhere? Where? Into the bracelet?”

“Correct. Only, the bracelet can’t really contain everything, so it has to send to another one and that one can’t contain, so it has to send to a willing participant.” He gave her a kiss on the forehead and said, “It is so good to see you comfortable again.” But, she winced… Max had taken her symptoms on himself? He couldn’t do that! He was a superhero! But… he made her promise not to take that bracelet off until after the baby was born. “This’ll be motivation for me to make a better bracelet,” he claimed. Really, he just hated the thought of him being okay and her being tired and uncomfortable, especially if it was going to be an entire nine months plus perhaps hours of labor. Not on his watch!

Well, being a superhero with pregnancy symptoms was a challenge, but it wasn’t like Charlotte didn’t have to work too. She also did important work. She went into top secret organizations whenever they believed that a mole was in their operation and as an unbiased party, smoked them out. That required focus. Besides… The person with the body that the baby was inside of needed less stress and distress on their body and that was final. He HATED it, though.

Every now and then, he would feel fine and have no symptoms… so he would immediately check to see if she had taken her bracelet off. He’d just be having an easy day. Those became more and more frequent and he was able to forget sometimes how irritating a pregnant feeling body could be. She was getting bigger and there was no forgetting for her. Even when she couldn’t feel certain things, they could become a discomfort. Max could have horrible foot pain and ask her to check her feet - they’d be swollen and she’d have to get off of them a while. Or, he could have a very sharp pain and insist that they drop everything and take her to the doctor to get looked at, confusing them whenever they asked what type of pain and Max, not Charlotte would describe it while she would look unbothered. As long as Baby Max was fine, Max was content enough.

Why was he taking so long to get here??? At 4 ½ months, she was still so tiny, when that boy SHOULD have been pushing out of the gates! She heard the movement in his lab and him speaking to himself, very passionately. It woke her up, in addition to vigorous writing on his board, and just other lab sounds that didn’t usually reach her ears in an abrasive way. “Max, are you alright?”

“I’m CLOSE!” He said, with excitement, but did not turn in her direction, because he was making corrections on his formula. “Because there isn’t a lot of coverage put into supes and nonsupes reproduction culture...” She said something under her breath, but he was still going, “We don’t know as much as we should, and I guess nobody has been concerned enough to create a scientific formula to prove that while it may not take a few hours, days, or weeks, it certainly still should not take the full 9 months of a child with no superpower coding! At least half of his DNA should be quicker than that!"

“I say this out of love - that sounds wrong, so just come to bed, unless you’re having pregnancy issues because of the bracelet, in which case, let’s get you some medicine or sleep aid or something. I want to go back to sleep and your lab sounds unusually loud...”

He didn’t even seem to hear her. Instead, he pointed to areas on his formula, “And since half of his DNA should be quicker than that, targeting the genetic markers of his superpowers should enable us to cut the nonsupe/supers reproduction period in half!”

“There’s a lot wrong with that formula from where I’m standing, and I shiver to think about what might be wrong with the execution of this theory and what could go wrong with MiniMax in the process of figuring it out...”

Still in the zone, Max commented, “And although I’ve run out of time to make it happen with this first child, the ones in the future should be simpler for you, and better for us, in general. I don’t have to test it out on one of our children, because I can simply clone us and use their reproductive systems for experimentation!”

“That sounds reckless and actually unethical...”

“And once I’ve figured out what the missing information is, you still won’t be able to carry as efficiently as a super mom, but you’ll definitely be far beyond those other nonsupes in the maternity ward...”

“That’s not how DNA works and you KNOW it!” she screeched. He finally looked at her. She looked extremely tired. How was she tired? He had the bracelet on. He checked it and looked at the record. “Can you please come to bed and we’ll talk about how wrong everything you just said was, including how inefficient my nonsupe body is at having your baby?” She started crying right around when he realized that there was a short in his bracelet. Shit. She was going to have her own symptoms until he could fix it. But, it was more important right now to fix what he’d just done.

“Char... That’s not what I meant, at all.” He came over to collect her into a hug. “I’m not suggesting that it’s wrong or that there’s something wrong with you for being a normal human being, I just... I know your pain better than anybody. I hate the thought of us building a family, if it has to rely on what this bracelet has taught me that it takes for us to do that. I’ve always wanted a big family, and I’ve wanted that with you for as long as we’ve been together. But, I can’t in good conscious expect that whenever it takes you 9 months of just awful changes inside of your body to host my kids. AND, I learned that it’s fractionally harder on you than it would be someone with powers, BECAUSE of your lack of them. You’re having more symptoms than even the typical nonsupe, because the baby that you’re carrying takes a little more to process, because of me. I just want this to be a good experience for you and want it to be something that you’d want to do again.” He sighed, “Please don’t cry? I have to fix the bracelet. There’s a short in the system. Then, I promise I’ll come to bed.”

“Forget the stupid bracelet!” She wailed. He knew this was partially hormones, partially hurt feelings, so the bracelet had to wait. He had to get her calm, in bed, at peace and back to sleep. That’s just what he did and didn’t get back to the experiment or the bracelet for a while. He was pretty busy taking care of her and preparing for the arrival of their baby, in his time that he wasn’t out working. And he had to admit that doing so without pregnancy symptoms was so much better.

After her current case at the office, she took her leave and in her free time, looked at Max’s work on his theory of genetic power reassignment, tinkered around with his formula, and created simulations for possible outcomes in various situations from his notes. Whenever he came back from assignment after she had been fooling with it for a while, now HE was the one looking at a virtually mad person carrying on about the possibilities, “And in that portion of the process...” She tapped the marker hard at a certain part of the formula, “THAT is where the magic would happen! Mathematically, no - your formula didn’t make sense. Because genes are just half of this and half of that. There’s this much from this side and that much from that side, but you have all of your genetic predecessors contributing and still don’t make cookie cutter kids. Why? Because you can’t really configure some of the things that you were trying to configure. But, of what you CAN configure, you could in essence power grow a baby, but only in the event that they have the proper markers, which you can find out, right here, Baby!” She tapped that spot again.

“We could accelerate our future babies?” He asked, excitedly rushing over to the board to her.

“Our? Oh, no. I’m not gonna risk my kids by trying this shit at home. But like... This was extremely interesting and I can’t lie to you... I’m KINDA digging the thought of working on the genetic science of cross powered reproduction. Less than 2% of supes marry nonsupes, and of that 2%, only a quarter of them have kids! I wanna know the dynamics of the pregnancies, of their sex lives, even! I want... more knowledge of this...”

The last 3 months that she was carrying, she had to spend a lot of time off of her feet/in bed. But, she took that time to attend online seminars, conduct scrutinizing research, and compile studies of everything dealing with the topics she had taken interest in. She even had began to go live on her page, from bed, with a little bit of lip gloss and mascara, to not look too busted, and speak about her findings and her thoughts on them. A lot of people became very interested in it, and a little community was created. She gained a following and followers that referred to themselves as “Charlottans,” who were all about relationships, reproduction and rearing children between supers and nonsupes. That wasn’t really her goal, but the more people who were interested in that part, the more she had the audience to speak on the science of these bonds and the biology of the children created.

By the time she went into labor with her first son, Max had both fixed and continued usage of the bracelets. Labor. Was. A. Bitch. Honestly, he wasn’t sure why or how people had multiple babies if that was how it had to happen... Then again, he hoped and planned on them having more and he CERTAINLY wasn’t going to let Charlotte go through it, after having done so, himself. Once she physically recovered, those bracelets were placed away in storage.

A laboratory in Metroburg contacted them on their studies and Charlotte was given a grant to look more in depth into everything that she and Max had already been engaged in. He helped her out, for fun and curiosity. They became the team that “wrote the book” on Mixed-Mutation Mating, and Maximilian Chael Thunderman was one of their first studies in the field. Of course, they weren’t going to make him a spectacle. Mostly, they observed, journaled and saw where things could and should be applied or noted. The most substantial information in the field came from Charlotte and Max.

Even whenever she returned to her main career, it was always out there for her and her following moved without her attention. MiniMax had the life that any other child with his background might. He was closer to his father than his mom, but definitely still close to her. He was not a model oldest brother, but he was one that each sibling either looked up to or competed with, in a manner that wasn’t necessarily vicious, despite getting intense at times. Charlotte was thinking about all of that and her first pregnancy as she looked at him, getting some things ready for a mission. “Mom... Please, don’t do whatever it is you’re doing. I’m 17. A big boy. Practically a man. Technically one, really.”

“Never. That will never be a true statement!” She whined.

“Awww. I love it whenever you’re so sentimental, you forsake science,” he teased. He grabbed his cape and pressed his forehead to hers, “But, you and Dad worked wonders, so trust that I’m not only gonna be fine, but I’m gonna be good.” He kissed her on the cheek. “Dad and Aunt Phoebe are letting me fly the jet.”

“WHAT?”

“It’s my 17th birthday! Let me live!” He said.

She sighed, “You’d BETTER live, or I’m gonna kill your dad. Come here. That hug didn’t last long enough.”He gave her another, longer hug and she said, “Happy Birthday.” He’d changed her life before he even arrived, and it was now changed forever.

He let go of her and said, “I’ll bring you back something interesting.” That was his best way of asking her not to worry. He was going to be alright, and he was definitely going to always come home to his mom.
