Sukuna is a good villain analysis
Coming from someone who hates villains that are evil because they were born that way and with no other explanation. To be honest, out of all the villains in jjk I always found sukuna to be somewhat boring , he is well written but I just couldn't really see what people saw in him. I still think that kenjaku is way more interesting than him but I will say that due to the recent arc and chapters that my opinion of sukuna has significantly changed.
Sukuna is the abstract embodiment of nihilism (in a way). His character for the longest time has always been about destruction and chaos. Sukuna's first introduction consists of him saying that he is going to destroy absolutely everything and there is a heavy focus on him destroying the woman and children. He simply views then as little maggots that he can easily destroy with ease. We later learn the connection (I guess) he has to his mother which he doesn't regard her disrespectfully and his devoured twin whom he is shown to remember the presence of. Every time we meet him before shibuya his power is further emphasised and he is further demonised and built to be the big bad.
Tumblr media
It is later in shibuya, during his fight with jogo that we get more to sukuna. In this fight sukuna brings out his CT of flames and jogo is surprised however, before sukuna kills jogo they share an interesting conversation. Sukuna recognises jogo's ideology and desires to be human and sukuna relates to it. He understands jogo's desires of taking humans place and ruling the world yet he views that view as foolish. This is where we learn that sukuna believes that being alone and having the power to destroy everything you care about is what makes one powerful. This can explain sukunas love for destruction and simple chaos. However, sukuna is incapable of understanding why he is talking to jogo, why does he even care for him in a way and instead of trying to understand he does exactly what he said to jogo that he should do and destroys/ fully burns jogo after calling him "strong". At this point both of these curses have experienced what it's like to be 'human' with emotions flowing through them that aren't negative but while one (jogo) questions it and tires to explore it the other (sukuna) rejects it and burns it all away.
Tumblr media
There's also sukuna's relationship with his relatives especially itadori his nephew. Sukuna and itadori share completely different ideologies while sukuna believes in him being the strongest and destroying everything he cares for to stay that way yuji will believes that he is a simple cog in a system and tries to do everything to fulfill his role and protect others. Both are strong characters yet it is yujis drive and strong resolve that makes him so much more mentally stronger than sukuna and what irritates sukuna as yuji is claimed to be unbreakable in his views and passion. Yuji also makes sukuna question his own purpose and what he is here to achieve. Even though the two are strangely similar in many ways considering that yuji is a part of sukuna they're vastly different especially with their ideologies.
Tumblr media
There's also the huge contrast between sukuna and his twin Jin itadori. Sukuna is strong, cold hearted and would put himself before anyone. Sukuna doesn't care for others and his existence is mainly him trying to satisfy himself and his needs while flaunting the immense power he carries. Yet from the little we have seen from Jin itadori he is is the polar opposite of sukuna. Jin itadori died for love, he was so blinded by grief that when kaori came back even though it was kenjaku he still loved her the same and he loved itadori more. It was stated that Jin really wanted to have a child and truly cared for itadori to the point he and itadoris grandpa got into fights about it. Jin from the moment we see him seems like a really nice and somewhat nerdy guy the complete opposite to his twin sukuna heck even their character designs are completely different with them only having the same colour hair and eyes (I think).
Tumblr media
These twins are also juxtaposed to the zenin twins. Its stated that sukuna had to eat his twin to survive in the womb due to how poor their mother was. However, the only thing that sukuna got out of his twin was the physical characteristic and his CT while Jin's soul went through cycles before coming into he human realm again. This contrasts with eh zenin twins whom voluntary chose to join together and when she died Mai chose to take all the CE they both had while dying physically she joined her sister spiritually by becoming a sword. Maki and Mai will always be together and entwined by their souls. The sukuna and jin twins are only connected physically which could be why sukuna has 4 eyes and 4arms.
Tumblr media
Sukunas own character design just shows that he is the embodiment of destruction and how he simply devours everything around him. When asked if sukuna ever feels lonely he literally says that he lives however he wants and that he can eat as much human flesh with all of them tasting different and filling him with different emotions. The closest thing that sukuna has to a friend is his loyal servant urauame and they only obey his orders while entertaining him. It's stated that the only reason sukuna keeps urauame around is due to their talent in cooking human meat, the same thing that gives him joy aka any real emotion.
Tumblr media
There are then his other fights that focus on sukuna and his views on love and power. Yorozu's fight is an interesting one where we get more on sukunas cannibalism and how both of those characters view love as a means of destruction and death. Yorozu is happy that sukuna killed her and got to know more about her through that while sukuna is questioned on stuff that he views as pointless and meaningless like marriage. Yorozu sees the solitude that sukuna is surrounded by and think that he can understand her since she has faced similar yet they heavily clash with sukuna believing that to have power one must face the burden of solitude. In the end yorozu, does give sukuna a gift crafted by her which he actually takes and uses during the current battle. Yorozu's attempts to get to sukuna and to make him reciprocate his love all fail even when she makes a TRUE SPHERE. Something that has the largest surface area and can contaminate and touch everything yet sukuna leaves untouched by yorozu at all. I think it's interesting that yorozu's heart took a shape of a true sphere just to show how obsessed she is with sukuna and her desire to be with him.
Tumblr media
Sukuna then fights with kashimo. Kashimo somewhat like jogo has an understanding of what it's like to be strong yet kashimo is sick of superficial interactions that the strong have to have with people that are inferior to them or want to challenge them. Kashimo asks sukuna if there is a way where he can be strong and surround himself with love sukuna says that this is selfish thinking considering his view that everything he cares for must be burnt for him to be strong. Kashimo isn't satisfied by only having strength but he also wants to experience simple things such as love, sukuna could of been similar to that long ago yet he gave up and has resorted to taking in all the destruction and enjoying himself from it. Kashimos fight with sukuna was more of a self discovery journey for the both of them and at the end they both come out on different sides.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
After higumara's death there is a whole chapter about sukuna and he starts questioning his own life view. What has he been doing? Is it worth it? Where is the joy in what he used to do? And he is again faced with his complete opposite yuji. He is deep in thought and he feels empty, confused even he can't seem to understand why everyone is dedicating themselves to this belief, they're all united and strong yet he is alone and bored. Sukuna has done everything he has fought and killed but like kashimo said that caught up to him and now he is tired of it he wishes to experience the unity and stuff that the others fighting him are experiencing. Sukuna has no purpose but to destroy at this point but he has caused so much that him destroying over and over again has just been a mundane cycle.
Tumblr media
Yet things start to change as the tides are against him and he may taste losing for the first time.
In conclusion, sukuna is an abstract and literal ideology of nihilism to a cerian extent and conveys the big bad villain trope in a fantastic way. I find him way more well written than AFO and muzan.

4-armed Sukuna Appreciation post!! These were my favourite OG Sukuna panels from the latest chapter.

A little spontaneous analysis on Sukuna and his view on love and rejection that I blurted out while reading about Heian Era marriage this morning 🤓
That Sukuna panel came to mind with him saying, he’s “a cursed, unwanted little wretch”. (I was told “hated” was another way to translate it, but it’s the same in the end).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Disclaimer: These are just my thoughts using this specific translation. However Sukuna is a complex character and nothing is black and white and I’m probably heavily cherry picking here or reading way too much into this more than I should or would be necessary. 😆 WELL
Somehow it struck to me that one of the FEW things we know about Sukuna, is that he never married or bore any children. This is even more interesting, considering the fact that in the JJK verse, we do have a few absent wifes/lovers to name, that we know little to nothing about. Be it Megumi‘s mother, Kaori or a nonexistent wife of Sukuna. People often claim that Sukuna is a virgin, cause he didn’t marry or had kids. This is a whole other discussion, but this claim kept lingering in my head and made me think about marriage in the first place. Marriage and children often being a wholesome concept of love in our modern understanding, I first thought the marriage thing to be in connection to his claim to love being useless, that he not even once had interest in love. I think there‘s more to that.
Tumblr media
(although I do think that someone who claims that love is worthless kinda sounds heartbroken, but yeah anyway)
But then I thought „wait we’re speaking ancient times, did love play any role in marriage anyway?“
We still don‘t know the social status in which Sukuna was born in, but in regards to heian era, marriage was first and foremost a thing to secure and show social status. Marriages out of love weren‘t common, even seen as unrealistic.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Marriages were mostly arranged, often when they were still teenagers even. And this is what caught my attention. Sukuna says he was born a cursed unwanted little wretch and I first assumed this claim purely focuses on his parents and his early childhood.
Tumblr media
But given the social norms in heian era, what if it also meant that he was literally unable to marry later on, that he wasn’t just unwanted by his by his parents, but by a possible spouse as well? Him saying he was “cursed and unwanted” indicates that it was a state he was put in, not a state he sought out to be. You could even argue, that him saying he was “unwanted” or “hated” even required him not wanting to be treated that way. Which child would want that? Which makes it even more interesting that he says, that he never thought about needing someone else to fulfill him. In connection to what I said before, it could almost sound hateful. As well as this moment here, which always occurred to me as if he said it from own experience.
Tumblr media
Because when you grow up in a surrounding that hates & repels you, it makes sense that you grow indifferent to society, but it doesn’t necessarily mean it was always that way. Him being unwanted makes so much sense in connection with him saying, that he focuses solely on himself and that he has complete disregard to others. Which makes sense, when it’s a result of not having anybody who wants or loves you. It leaves you with yourself and yourself only.
Tumblr media
I know a lot of you really wanna fight the thought of Sukuna having a hard childhood but who cares honestly? I don‘t think it would make him less of a strong character. Every human is the result of their surroundings and as stated, Sukuna is human too. Based on that, you could even argue that the only kind of love he knows and sees as the real love, was an aggressive one. This would explain why he sees the slaughter of those who fought Kashimo as love.
Tumblr media
Ok back to marriage! When I read about marriage, there was another thing that caught my attention and that was poetry! We know Sukuna is a little nerd, who is eager to learn and it’s indicated that he even enjoyed poetry. (His immediate reaction to Yorozu‘s Haiku being that it lacks the seasonal word.) Back then, when someone was about to apply for marriage, what did they do? Yeah right, they wrote letters to someone.
Tumblr media
As I stated above, you could assume that there was a time, where Sukuna was not utterly hateful and indifferent to social contacts (I know that’s a reach, but that’s up for interpretation as long as we don’t know his backstory.)
If we assume, that Sukuna was born looking the way he looks, then it wouldn’t surprise me if there was a lot of rejection involved in the way the proposal was practised as described above. I don‘t wanna paint Sukuna as the poor rejected here, but idk maybe he was.
We all eagerly await Sukuna‘s backstory and I‘m so excited to learn about him. This suddenly turned into an analysis of Sukuna and his view on love and whatnot, but please remember, I’m not saying that any of this might have actually happened.
It’s just some connections my brain made while reading about marriage and thinking about some of the stuff that Sukuna said. I just had to write it down.

Chapter 251: Decisive Battle in the Unhabited, Demon-Infested Shinjuku, Part 23--Megumi is back!! aaaaand it's not looking good
Well. In case you've been living under a rock, Megumi is back and everyone and their mom knows about it because Twitter demonstrated to be full of people who lack reading comprehension, basic human compassion, and an understanding of how trauma fucks with the mind. Only the latter is excusable, since this is domain-specific knowledge that I don't expect others to be aware of.
The number of times I've read the word "bitch" next to Megumi's name is appalling to say the least.
So... yeah... happy jjk-Sunday? Sorry, I wish I had a more upbeat intro to my ramble for this chapter but man... this fandom is something else and a lot of the comments about Megumi were just so...
Anyways let's taco'bout Megumi and share Megumi-love under the cut.
What is this irritating feeling?
Tumblr media
Why does this matter? If you haven't seen me mention this over on the twt already, Sukuna makes a small gesture that is unequivocally Megumi body-language in chapter 248:
Tumblr media
Megumi typically places his hand over his shoulder when he's stressed (although I have to confirm he only does it when stressed):
Tumblr media
It isn't just the body language that is significant, but rather the way of thinking itself. I didn't catch this myself, but Ant and Danchou did, so I might not do it justice when explaining it.
This way of thinking is very Megumi-like in how he second-guesses himself. More than second-guessing, however, it also feels like a nascent sense of consciousness. All of this obviously presents a very interesting dilemma because, as Sukuna recognizes, sharing a body with Yuji has changed him.
I think we all knew Yuji or Megumi would be changed by Sukuna--because that is how Gege directed our attention by having Gojo mention Yuji could inherit Sukuna's CT by the mere fact that they shared a body. I know I also assumed that Megumi would maybe learn from Sukuna using 10s. But I also know I never even considered that the opposite could be true: Yuji and Megumi could also change Sukuna.
Tumblr media
So, the way I see it, with that hand gesture, we have what appears to be Megumi's sense of self bubbling up from under the surface and changing Sukuna.
What's interesting to me is how subtle this is. Sukuna notices this as an "irritating feeling" that is incomprehensible to someone like him who rejects aspirational ideals.
Tumblr media
So, part of what I love about this is that sharing a body with Yuji has deepened Sukuna's own experience of reality.
Sukuna is all ego, right? Ego is everything that is concrete...
Tumblr media
So I have to wonder how much of this is also Megumi's own emotional turmoil given what we saw this chapter...
Tumblr media
Wake up, Megumi!
Ok so let's do a quick recap...
We also know Tsumiki is integral to how Megumi sees himself. This is very important because Megumi basically makes her his raison d'être. In other words, his whole identity is framed around protecting her during the Culling Game. Aside from the obvious shock that it was to realize Yorozu was pretending to be Tsumiki the whole time, which meant Tsumiki was dead, the issue with Megumi was that he made Tsumiki his identity.
And if there is one thing we have seen happen time and time again in jjk is how being limited by your self-ascribed identity comes back and bites you in the ass.
Tumblr media
So in Megumi's case, what happens when his whole identity was framed around a single outcome, and then he realized that outcome turned out to be a failure right from the start?
An identity crisis or basically no sense of self.
So what does he have to live for now?
Tumblr media
What reason does he have for living if the person whom he had wrapped his identity around is now gone? This is what created the opening for Sukuna to possess him.
What's crazy about this is that even when he was weakened, he still put up a fight and elicited a "Fushiguro Megumi" from Sukuna. Sukuna had probably already considered the importance of the bath, but this likely solidified the need to have Megumi marinate in cursed energy. Like... this is what it took to bury Megumi's consciousness. Also, this is important because we're talking about marinating in negative emotions "to be near evil".
Now, it's midnight and I got to get to sleep, but the way jjk uses "evil" is not cliché at all, but almost like as a metaphor for chaos, hyper individuality, and instinct. I started writing about Naoki Urasawa's Monster, so hopefully I can get around to explaining the whole good vs. evil dichotomy (which is one of my favorite topics ever) soon, but this is all I'll say for now. I'll come back to this in a sec.
Next, Megumi's own Cursed Technique (which we know is tied to the brain and personality) and hands are used to kill Tsumiki's body and Gojo while Megumi can only observe.
And then, Gojo accidentally blitzes Megumi's soul with his technique.
Like are we for real expecting Megumi to just stand up and start throwing hands after all he's been through? What is wrong with people???!!!!!!!!!!! Have some compassion ffs.
Unfortunately, this isn't just about a lack of reading comprehension and compassion, it's also about lack of domain knowledge. This is Trauma with a BIG T we're talking about, and Trauma has been shown to limit how you see yourself and how you are able to think.
So, of course Megumi is distraught. The writing in this is so damn realistic.
Tumblr media
Now, Gege has been paying special attention to Megumi's body language, and while the rest of the fandom is laughing at the "Mahoraga hands", I'm looking at how tightly closed those fists are. Even the way he's curled up in a tight ball... Almost like he's about to blow up from sheer pressure.
Tumblr media
Quite the contrast to the last time we saw him in a similar position but with more relaxed body language.
And remember, he marinated in cursed energy so that he would be closer to "evil", right? Plus getting blitzed?
Listen, I am ready for Yuji's pep talk, I am sure it will be generational, but right now, I don't think Megumi is ready (or maybe even able) to hear it. Again, because Trauma with a big T.
Plus Sukuna loosing control of Megumi's body? You kind of have to wonder why Megumi's energy has been crescendoing to the point that Sukuna would be affected by it and not only think like Megumi, but also use body language that is unequivocally Megumi.
This feels like a Megumi is about to snap.
This is starting to feel ominous precisely because he's marinated in these self-destructive emotions for so long. Emotions which surely intensified as he saw the consequences of his inability to take action.
But then again... I was expecting a blood bath out of the culling game and it was everything but so 🤣 idk what to tell y'all. As predictable as he is, Gege is unpredictable af.
Ok I think those are my main thoughts? WHAT ABOUT Y'ALL?!!!!!! What are we thinking? What are the theories? oh mai gah.
Even if I'm responding to asks slowly, I'm still reading them as they come in guys. Sorry, school + work is kicking my ass because well... in typical Megumi fashion I haven't taken responsibility for bringing out my best.
That said, I go off to sleep 🫡 Thanks for reading!

Sorry, but I need to say something I've been thinking about for a while. I found geto's death forcing. 1.he loses to a boy with no experience and the power of ''love''. 2.he was stronger and had more knowledge and experience than the boy yuta. 3. It seems that the author just wanted to get rid of geto so that this annoying villain Kenjaku could come. 4. In my opinion, Geto is the best villain. I don't understand why the author didn't want to continue with him. 5. His death was forced because Saturo already had a change in character and personality. What I'm trying to say is that in the film, Satura is already different, he's no longer that immature young man. 6. the serious work was much more dramatic if geto had survived saturo blow he would have become stronger and returned as a villain again with sukuna. Sorry if it's big, but I have these doubts that such a good and well-constructed character had a horrible ending and very little.
I have mixed feelings about this anon but first I'd clarify things point by point for you and then give my opinion if possible
1. Yuuta Okkotsu has a special grade curse, the queen of curses Rika, the power of "love" you speak tho it might sound cliché does fit here well and it was explained in the manga that love is considered the most twisted curse (if you saw the movie you'd have seen that gojo said this line to him too).
2. Yes sure geto had more experience and knowledge but yuuta is an acclaimed prodigy, his cursed technique is mimicry, rika was so scaringly powerful even before she fully evolved, geto KNEW that if he absorbed rika he'd have everything needed to form his "ideal world". He wasn't just any nobody who managed to get lucky.
3. Okay now here there are two reasons and I am trying my best to find words to explain it, yuuta was meant to be the original mc of jjk, he is the op character. Geto wanted rika (as I mentioned in the previous point) to accomplish his dream so if geto won that battle the story as whole would've taken a very different turn, we wouldn't need itadori and the whole first years and their stories. Remember how I said yuuta was supposed to the actual mc? Yeah that's were gege actually made changes so he could make a better and elaborate plot.
4. Geto Suguru was infact an amazing villain, yes. But you've also got to understand that he was sympathetic towards jujutsu sorcerers, he'd never risk harming them (his own last words being "I never hated anyone from jjk high") unless they're in his way. He had to die because we needed someone who'd go all out, no mercy to anyone, no regard and sympathy for anyone and that's exactly why we needed someone like kenjaku, who was equally powerful, evil and not shy to bring hell.
5. Geto's death had nothing to do with "changing gojo's personality", that change already happened after hidden inventory and premature death arc. His death was an important decision for future plot points (explaining why yuuji was special, sealing the strongest etc).
6. This is where I fully give my opinion, sure Suguru would've come back as stronger and even more powerful villain but would he have achieved what kenjaku did? Geto Suguru that we knew would choose any other route than sealing Gojo, he literally did not even try to protect himself and gave gojo a chance to kill him (during kfc breakup), he never attacked jujutsu high until yuuta happened, he worked with rejected sorcerers and never paired up with evil curses like hanami, jogo and mahito. So, to put it simply it was important part of plot that geto first turned evil and then died, that shaped so many important arcs of the manga and it was well thought out for long run. Sure it's sad and frustrating but that was one good writing move on gege's part and there's no denying that.

(I would appreciate some fluff or angst prompts lol most of the stuff is all smut requests) I hope you enjoy this 💖 - I’m definitely going to elaborate on the whole story between this pair when I write my three part series! - let me know if you would like to be added to my Sukuna tag list or full tag list!
TAGS: sukuna has a child, angst :c, sukuna is also an asshole, alludes to past abuse (not with Sukuna)
Sukuna stood before you with a dumbstruck expression resting across his face, while trying to comprehend what possessed you to confess those words to him…in the middle of an argument no less.
He can’t even remember why everything escalated to this point.
One minute you were snuggled in his arms and the next you two had sprung away from each other and started bickering about everything under the sun.
Sukuna was growing frustrated with your odd behavior, and you were tired of him constantly brushing you off.
He wanted to be an active influence in Rai’s life and you weren’t happy with how he treated his role as a father like a twisted game to fulfill a dynastic fantasy he had.
He reminded you in that moment that Rai wasn’t just a human, and you rebutted that he was more like you than Sukuna would ever care to admit.
Back and forth you both dissected everything wrong about your relationship, until the pain made you unravel and you parted to lips to spill a secret you had been keeping guarded up to this point.
“I love you… ” you admitted, and the surprise settled across your face as the silence hung in the air.
Sukuna swallowed the lump in his throat, taking in the sight of his beautiful and vulnerable concubine whose knuckles began turning white as your hands clenched tightly into fists, while you patiently waited for him to say...something.
The truth is, Sukuna’s mind drew a blank.
For the first time in his long life, someone had actually rendered him speechless.
He didn’t understand this conflicting emotion that plagued humans, one which made them incredibly soft and emphasized their weaknesses.
He especially couldn’t wrap his mind that you - the witness to the extremeties of his violence, the devotee that had accepted him in his purest form, and the martyr who risked her own life whenever you stood your ground against his unruly wrath - would ever consider him with any kind of affection.
He took one stride toward you, then another, moving at a slow pace which only made your heart beat faster. He brushed his knuckles lightly across your cheek before hardening his gaze and narrowing his cold eyes.
“An innocent mistake on your part, my pet. You’ll soon learn to get over it.”
An audible gasp escaped you, the hurt washing over you in waves from how quickly your king had come to reject you.
You didn’t even ask for his permission to be dismissed, and turned on your heel before storming your way out of his bedroom where you had been comfortably residing in over the last few weeks.
Sukuna believed that time would heal the wounds engraved in your heart - even though a small part of himself regretted the way he handled this particular situation.
He promised himself that he would at least respect your boundaries until you were ready to approach him, but as time passed he found himself growing restless from how adamant you were on distancing yourself from him.
You avoided him at every cost, ensuring that you were never around his vicinity whenever he would stroll the palace grounds. He would ask the other servants about you, but you already gave them perfectly crafted stories with reasons as to why you had been kept occupied.  As his patience began wearing thin, Sukuna decided that he would use his free time with Rai instead in the hopes that he may lure you to his presence through the child you shared.
Sitting on his throne one morning, Sukuna sighed quietly in defeat when he realized that nothing was enough to make you push this particular argument aside. A week had almost passed now, and there was still no sign of you.
He ran his his fingers through his son’s red hair, feeling Rai tilting his head underneath his touch as he looked up at his father with fiery, warm eyes.
They may share similar physical traits, but the feelings conveyed through the child’s compassionate stare was wholeheartedly yours.
A tender glance that made an unfamiliar warmth spread across the cursed king’s chest.
He merely had enough of you giving him the cold shoulder and decided to show up at your quarters one night.
He didn’t care how late the hour was, nor did he take your privacy into any consideration when he slid the screen doors wide open.
To his surprise you were awake, and he found you leaning against the window as you were staring out into the distance.
He made eye contact with you, realizing that you regarded him with neither surprise or fear.
He could tell that you had been expecting this moment, which gave him the confidence to approach you without hesitation.
His fingers held your chin when he stood in front of you, and he tilted your up face up towards him before speaking.
“I will take you to bed tonight.”
The sentence wasn’t a request, but an order. He had every intention of disrobing you right where you were before having you in ways that would make your voice carry across the grounds.
He did very little to hide his own desperation, and your fingers squeezed the overlap of your kimono as you held the front panel tightly close your chest.
Sukuna lightly trace your bottom lip with his thumb, tugging at it slightly as he arched to lean forward. He rubbed the side of his nose on yours, his warm breath making your lashes flutter and you found yourself parting your lips naturally before catching yourself from falling into his trap.
“No.”
Your words were barely a whisper, and it took a moment for Sukuna to even realize that you had spoken before he froze from delivering his kiss.
You felt his hand drop away from your jaw, his fingers stretching out to curl around your neck as he made direct eye contact with you.
He look incredibly displeased.
He has never heard you defy him under any circumstances.
When you were brought to him as a sacrifice he expected you to cower the first night he planned on taking you to his bed, but you accepted him without any question. He wasn’t used to your rejection because never turned him away, and at this very second he found himself growing more frustrated than anticipated.
“You have duties to fulfill, pet... services to perform...” Sukuna reminded, dragging his lips away from yours as he breathed in the scent of your skin before gliding them dow your neck, “…how are you of use to me if you don’t comply?”
His words made you tremble, but you maintained your composure as you held your head high.
“You tell me...”
You challenged him again, making your king pull away from you as he looked at you with confusion and annoyance.
“I’ve given you a whole new life, and this is how you thank me?” he scoffed. “Did you forget how easily men used you...”
He ripped open old wounds that took you a long time to heal, and you felt the heat rise to your cheeks at the mention of your haunting past.
“My past is no different than my present,” you reminded him, “You use me for your own pleasure and if I hadn’t given you a son then you wouldn’t have treated me any differently...”
Yes I would, Sukuna argued back in his mind, but he wouldn’t let those words slip and show even an ounce of vulnerability.
He had no idea why you were winding him up this much, no comprehension as to why he couldn’t rationalize the maddening emotions that were conflicting his mind.
He didn’t want to admit that he had been yearning for you every second of every day, nor did he want confess that he couldn’t look at any of the other concubines without feeling sick to his stomach.
He looped one arm around your waist, pulling you close to his chest and making your feet hover off the ground form his sheer strength.
He pinched the front of his brows, his nostrils flaring as his pupils shrunk in size and he could feel your hand claw at his arms as you attempted to push him off you.
He brought mouth lips to your ear, murmuring in a low but sinister voice that had you trembling from his cruel words.
“If you’re unhappy with your position, you’re free to leave.”
When he released you from his embrace is when you felt your heart shatter, unable to withstand all the cracks that he had already inflicted.
Sukuna wasn’t stupid - you knew that he was giving you ultimatum to make you rethink your current behavior towards him by reminding you of how much you had to lose.
Serving your king guaranteed you safety, a roof of over your head and a warm meal. You would never have to worry about Rai under the protection of his father, knowing full well that if any of the jujutsu sorcerers got wind of his existence that they would kill him faster than you can even blink.
Yet, you had grown tired of compliance, exhausted yourself of having to obey and submit with every breath you took. You hated that you’ve shed more tears than laughed, that death stood by you with every threat and insult, and that your love was only worth empty bribes and gold.
These last few weeks made you believe in a dream that never seemed tangible when vicious King treated you like a lover - sharing a bed with you, ensuring that your were pampered and nourished, and taking away any formalities that asserted his power of you.
You were beginning to see a glimpse of a beatiful future - one where you no longer used your body as a means to end, where your son could grow without ever having to comprehend the struggles of how harsh this cruel world could be, and where you could truly give all the parts of you to the one person who mattered.
How could Sukuna have been this blind sided by your confession when you thought that some part of him loved you in return?
You wiped a rogue tear away from your face, acknowledging in that moment that you didn’t want to live the rest of your life being viewed as an object from the being you loved.
You didn’t know how to survive on your own, but if liberating yourself meant a small chance of unconditional happiness, you realized it was a risk worth taking.

What JJK men would look for in their partner! And how it would be with them..
This is my first post on Tumblr, so I'm just getting used to this.. I hope this is good from all the experience I have reading head canons myself! Enjoy!!
Gojo
- I feel like he would love to have a tsundere woman on his side, the thrill of making you flustered after being mean to him and all that. He'd also love proving that you do like him after rejecting him many times when he wanted to take you out, he'd tease you after you get serious and laugh watching you pout and or cross your arms at him after he said something dumb. He always pops up behind you during missions and whenever your alone and hug you from the back his hands going around your waist, you push him away and become flustered again, he laughs but you know you'd let him hug you as many times as he wanted, maybe even more. You definitely wouldn't admit it!
- although he would love a bratty tsundere, you'd also need some good humor here and there, to have some fun with him and laugh all night to shows or just get drunk together. Although you always say you hate him and he should stop asking you out, you guys are simply best friends in the end. But he will always want more, and he's persistent!
- He wouldn't really pay attention to looks if you have a personality that really attracts him, size doesn't matter as well. But to be brutally honest, he would look more toward attractive/cute women, but it really depends!
- it would be pretty hard for gojo to love anybody in the first place. All his loved ones passed or something bad happened to them because of him, hes the strongest sorcerer in the world again, love isn't his number one priority.
- but if he did decide to one day find a woman, or man, he'd need them to understand that work sometimes comes first. And if your just a regular human, he'd be more stressed for your safety. Never letting her go outside alone most of the time. If you were a sorcerer, it would be more like him flirting with you here and there and some hook ups now and then. A secret relationship, he'd want to keep you safe still. Always trying to go on your missions, but another thing he loves about you is that your strong. So maybe sometimes he doesn't need to worry all the time.
Megumi
-megumi would like his partner to be understanding with him. To be there to make him smile and feel better when he's down. To hold him when he needs it. He wouldn't care about looks neither size, he wouldn't mind the chubbiness of you, as long as you love him for him.
- he loves kind women!! Just to see you be kind to children and animals, makes him smile and his day much better. How gentle you are, he feels so lucky to have met you. He'd protect you at all costs. Sorcerer or not.
-he likes someone who can stand up for themselves, although that's a maybe.. A shy and kind woman can also make him interested, how your so quiet makes him want to know more about you. And if you were confident and kind, he would just notice you more quickly.
Sukuna (slight nsfw)
- man oh man, does he love powerful women. Someone who isn't scared of him and pretty bratty. He loves to see you being put in your place, and if you fight in a kick ass way, he might as well get turned on right there.
- if you can talk back to him, hell immediately become interested. Human or not. If you guys do end up getting together, hed be so protective of you, like he owns you.
- he likes to stare at you from afar when you fight, looking at every inch of your body and smirk. God youre sexy and strong, a bonus if you even try to Dom him! He'd find it funny, in the end he would be on top of you while your legs shake and you pant like it's your last breath.
That's it for now, if this gets big then ill do way more characters!

“What’s the situation?”
All of a sudden, a new voice came into the area leading you to turn your head to the side to find a rather tall male standing next to Fushiguro. From a quick glance, you could immediately inform yourself that had spiky white hair with a black blindfold covering his eyes, as he carried a paper bag on his arm while wearing a similar outfit to Fushiguro meaning he was another sorcerer.
“Gojo-sensei?! Why are you here?” Fushiguro asked in surprise, as he turned to look at what you assumed to be his teacher leading to the shadows around him to immediately disappear from sight.
“Gojo…” you muttered under your breath as you looked at the two male sorcerers right in front of you in horror as you came to the realisation of the situation you were facing.
‘Mother…..I’ve been found…..’
                                                   ꕥ
“Hey!’ the teacher cheerfully greeted while waving an arm to his student as a short greeting. “I wasn’t planning on coming, but man, you’re roughed up,” Gojo explained, before leaning forward as if he was taking a closer look at Fushiguro to which then caused lead to his hand to go into his pocket as he proceeded to pull out his mobile phone. “I should show the second years, face this way!” the sorcerer playfully stated as he began to take a multitude of photos of the ‘roughed up’ student, leading to the subject of his images to turn away while covering his face with his arm.
Looking at the scene with anxiety looming above you like a rainy cloud, you swiftly turned your head back to see if you could find a way out without both of them as well as Itadori noticing as they were distracted for the time being.
‘Shit, the only way I can escape is either jumping from this floor or going through the large gap behind me, but that’s gonna make them notice. What am I going to do?!’
“Ah! Miss, I know you are already there, so no need to escape!” Gojo suddenly stated, causing you to quickly turn back with widened eyes - surprised at the fact that he knew what was on your mind - to find the teacher waving at you with the same greeting he gave to Fushiguro as if he had known you for some time, like an old friend one would say.
‘Ah…..what a drag….’ you thought, as you then carefully picked up the katana that had landed in front of you when the curse was exorcised before slowly sliding it back into the casing that was behind your back.
“The higher-ups wouldn’t such up with a special-grade cursed object gone missing, so I stopped by while doing some sightseeing,” Gojo explained while looking down his phone like he was checking something when in your mind, you assumed that he was going through the photos that he took of Fushiguro due to his jolly smile that was displayed on his face.
‘Maybe, if you damn sorcerers got the cursed object sooner before the damn protective seal was ripped off, WE WOULDN’T BE IN THIS SITUATION!’ you argued in your head, as you slowly began to realise the reasonings why your mother never took a liking to the higher-ups, to begin with.
‘Those higher-ups are so useless, all they do is command other sorcerers to do their dirty work while acting if they are superior dear. If I could, I would kill all of them’
“So, did you find it?” the blindfolded teacher asked, as he looked up from his device only for your schoolmate to interrupt the sorcerer’s conversation as he raised up his hand in a guilty manner. “Um...Sorry, but I ate it,” Itadori confessed, as he then pointed to himself to emphasise the statement leading Fushiguro to look down to the floor in what seemed to be in shame while Gojo turned to look at Itadori with a shocked expression.
“For real?” Gojo asked, trying to make sure that it wasn’t some sort of joke.
“For real,” Itadori and Fushiguro answered simultaneously, confirming that it wasn’t a joke at all.
In a complete rage, you slowly made your way towards your schoolmate before grabbing his shoulders with as much might as you could as you then turned him around to face you.
“I don’t know who broke that damn seal I placed on that stupid little hut, but maybe if you haven’t taken that finger, we wouldn’t be in this situation where these two dumbass sorcerers would be in our lives right now!!” you screamed in frustration leading to the two mentioned sorcerers to look at you with dumbfounded looks painted on their faces while Itadori just peered at you with an extremely surprised expression.
During the school hours, Itadori had seen you a few times around the hallways and in his class when you had to collect something for another teacher. From what he could read off, you were the calm and collective type, someone who was on top of their academics while being able to maintain close relationships with other students between the three-years that Sugisawa Municipal Highschool offered. Even though you came off a bit blunt from time to time when calling something or someone a ‘drag’, the students liked that from you since that meant you were being honest to them as well as to yourself, just like the time when you surprised everyone when you rejected being part of the school’s council's committee much to the President’s begging.
“But...shouldn’t you like sorcerers since you seem like one?” Itadori questioned with a confused tone, leading you to look at him with a rather both understandable but irritated expression which caused him to be nervous somewhat due to you being out of character.
“Just because I am one, doesn’t mean I like any of them!” you counted back, as you pointed towards the direction of Fushiguro and Gojo before continuing with “it was such a drag when Fushiguro was here this afternoon and it’s more of one now that two of them are here!” as you then let go of his shoulders before turning away to lean against the crooked metal balcony to relax your vocal cords after screaming so much.
Taking the opportunity, Gojo leaned to the side as if he was inspecting Itadori like he was painting before coming closer to the teenage boy with his hand on his chin as if he was thinking what he could do now. “Hehe, damn, it really did combine with you. That’s hilarious,” Gojo amusingly stated, causing you to turn back to look at the scene with a dumbfounded expression on his face.
‘What is hilarious about the situation right now? This isn’t something to find assuming Gojo’
“Anything off with your body?” Gojo questioned, after straightening his back leading itadori to inspect his body for a quick few seconds.
“Not particularly,” Itadori answered.
“Can you swap out with Sukuna?” Gojo then asked, leading you to then fully turn back to look at the special-grade sorcerer with extreme confusion and astonishment as you begin to wonder what hit Gojo’s head before coming here to the school.
“Sukuna?” Itadori confusingly stated as he looked at Gojo with a perplexed expression.
“The curse you stupidly ate,” you quickly answered, as you gave Itadori a serious glance before letting out a sigh of frustration leading Fushguro to quickly tug your arm as you dropped down to his height before you snatched your arm back, worried about what the Zenin relative would do to you.
“Oh…Yeah, I think I can do that,” Itadori clarified, as he placed his hand on his hip before giving a nod to emphasise this statement.
Stepping back, Gojo suddenly began to stretch in a weird position, which suddenly reminded you of a certain baseball player, but you couldn’t recall who before stating with confidence, “then give us ten seconds, once ten seconds are up, come back to us.”
‘Great, I’m going to die young…” you jokingly thought, as you looked to the side with a grim look as if you were staring at the death ripper at this very moment in time.
“But..” Itadori wavered, as he started to be concerned about Gojo's request since he didn’t know what damage Sukuna could do or how the teacher was going to be at the end of it. “Don’t worry, I’m the strongest,” Gojo confidently stated, leading to another grim look to appear on your face, as you were getting annoyed at his constant confidence even though you knew he had the right to be.
“Megumi, hold on to this,” Gojo demanded before throwing the bag towards his student, leading to the catcher to catch it with his hands before looking down on the paper bag with curiosity.
“Megumi?” you quietly questioned as you suddenly discovered that the sorcerer next to you had a feminine name - since it was quite rare to hear a male have a name that was generally used for the female gender.
“What is this?” Fushiguro asked before his teacher stretched his arms right in front of both of you before answering, “Kikufuku from Kikusuian! It’s Sendai’s speciality, and it’s super good! I recommend the zunda and cream flavour!”
‘So...this man bought mochi when people here were dying, ah...that was dumbass~’
“It’s not a souvenir, I’m going to eat it on the bullet train home,” Gojo stated as if he needed an explanation for his actions. However, what got your full attention was the black markings that were gradually coming onto Itadori’s skin before he suddenly jumped up into the air while Gojo was still explaining his reasoning for this purchase.
“Uh Oh~” you commented, as you stared at the sky with widened eyes before Fushiguro screamed for his teacher’s attention at the curse directing an attack from behind. However, it seemed like his teacher wasn’t fazed on second as he continued explaining the reason why he bought the mochi, “Kikufuku’s not like other souvenirs…”
‘I THOUGHT YOU SAID IT WASN’T A SOUVENIR!’ you screamed in your mind before ducking your head down as Itadori’s body finally crashed back to the ground, trying to make sure that the debris didn’t blind you at all. Quickly looking back up to check what was happening, you suddenly came into eye to eye contact with a bright shade of ruby mixed with a hint of malevolence. You came to the realisation that it was Sukuan who was now in front of you while Gojo was casually sitting on his hack like a horse.
“And the whipped cream inside is simply exquisite..” Gojo continued talking, causing you to give off a confused expression on what really was going on inside the special-grade sorcerer’s mind and what his main priority was right now. Suddenly, Sukuna made a 180 degree turn to aim for another attack, yet the second Gojo clasped his hands together, he once again missed and as well as the other attacks he tried to execute.
Unexpectedly, Gojo appeared behind Sukuna’s back before leaning back to say something within his ear, “my student and a little sorcerer’s watching, so I’m going to show off a little.” Instantaneously, Gojo disappeared once again before grabbing the curse vessel’s arm as he then processed to hit Sukuna’s face with his arm, leading to Itadori’s body to slightly fling itself up in the air.
‘What is he manipulating? Time? No, that’s not it….is it like a vacuum? But that means he would be controlling empty space with no particles…’
Suddenly, you slightly noticed the slight manipulated on the air as Gojo’s arm begins to swing leading you to come to the conclusion that Gojo’s cursed technique might be the control of space at an atomic level, leading to a massive pressure to hit the King of Curses as his body smashed into the only part of metal railing that wasn’t bent.
“For crying out loud, you jujutsu sorcerers are always trouble, no matter what era!” Sukuna declared as he, once again, jumped into the air while somehow carrying massive pieces of the broken wall along with him before slamming down at Gojo’s direction. “Though that doesn’t mean much to me,” Sukuna arrogantly stated, with a smirk on his face as some of the windows processed to smash.
However, the second the thin debris started to clear up, Sukuna’s expression quickly twisted into shock as a brightly lit barrier enclosed his opponent, yet he wasn’t the one that had a surprised expression on his face. Turning back around, Gojo found you kneeling next to Fushguro with a flat palm on the ground as your curse energy flowed down to the ground as if the box just didn’t just end on the ground that they were standing on right now.
“This is such a drag,” you muttered before standing up straight as you observed the walls making sure that there wasn’t a single crack when the rocks could have hit. “Seven, eight, nine, ten,” you counted and right on time there was a sudden change in curse energy pressure around you leading you to come to the conclusion that Itadori was now switching back, surprising Sukuan once again at the circumstances that he was in.
“Oh, was everything okay?” Itadori innocently asked, one the marking disappearing leading you to undo your curse spell as the walls slowly started to fade away with little blue parts flying away like they were little fireflies.
“I’m shocked, you really can control it!” Gojo cheered while Fushiguro looked onto the scene with such surprise and confusion on what was happening.
“He’s kind of annoying, though,” Itadori commented as he continuously smacked his head, “I can hear his voice.”
‘And is smacking your head gonna make it better, idiot?’
“It’s a miracle that’s all he’s doing,” Gojo stated, with a smirk on his face as he began to walk towards Itadori before suddenly placing his middle and index finger on the salmon-haired forehead, causing Itadori to freeze for a second before giving in to the suddenly unconscious feeling empowering his body to which lead to his falling within the teacher’s arms.
“What did you do?” Fushiguro asked with slight worry in his tone.
“Knocked him out,” Gojo then answered. “If he isn’t possessed by Sukuna when he wakes up, he might have potential as a vessel,” the white-haired sorcerer explained as he then turned to his student with a question in mind.
“Now, I have a question for you, what should we do with him and the little miss, who is trying to run away?”
Confused, Fushiguro turned around, only to find you with your back turned to both of them as your foot halted the second his teacher had mentioned you. Turning back around Fushiguro then looked at his teacher with a serious expression displayed on his face, “even if he is a vessel, jujutsu regulations demand Itadori be executed. However, I don’t want to let him die!”
“Your personal feelings?” Gojo playful asked his student with a smirk on his face before Fushguro quickly answered, “yes, please do something about this.”
“Hehe~ Now it’s a request from a previous student,” Gojo stated, as he proceeded to lift up the unconscious teenager onto this shoulder. “Leave it to me! But also, what do you want to do with Miss runaway?” Gojo commented, once again leading you to halt your movement as you surprisingly made some distance between you and the two sorcerers now staring at your back.
‘Ah…..caught again…..’
Turning around, you looked towards the two sorcerers with a nonchalant expression displayed before giving them the hand gesture of ‘shooing them away. “There’s nothing you got to do with me, take Itadori and make sure to do what you’re planning to do, don’t drag me into your mess,” you commented, as you turned around once again, only to find the infamous sorcerer to be standing right in front of you with a cheeky smile on his face.
“Come on~ Jujtutsu Tech is so much fun, you get to make a few friends and you get to bug Megumi!” Gojo cheerfully tried to persuade you, only for you to scoff in annoyance at this futile attempt to invite you to the school that your mother informed you all about.
“I rather not be near anyone belonging with the three clans,” you irritatedly declared as you placed your hand on your hip trying to keep a distance between you and the teacher. However, this statement of yours caused Gojo and Fushiguro to look at you with surprise painted on their faces. How much did you know about the Jujutsu world? How did you have the acknowledgement of the three great families? Who were you and how much you had the strength to stop Sukuna’s attack within a millisecond?
“L/N!” Fushiguro stated, leading you to turn to him with an angered expression on your face which caused Gojo to peer at you with seriousness clouding his entire body.
“L/N huh?” Gojo curiously questioned, “no wonder your curse technique is familiar to what those old documents have told.”
Taken back to his discovery, you turned back to look at Gojo will a deadpan expression leading him to then carefully suggest, “Since you are part of the lost L/N clan, I won’t tell the higher-ups about your existence but rather have you twist your name slightly when you enrol, how does that sound?”
Glancing at the teacher with suspicion, you tried to hide the gut-wrenching feeling that there was not a possible chance of you now escaping from this. You had been caught and found and there was no way to lie yourself out of this situation you were in, not when Gojo had discovered who you really were while Fushiguro seemed to look clueless on what was going on between his teacher and the female sorcerer in front of him.
Letting out a sigh of frustration once again, you looked up at the sky, letting the same moonlight bathe your face as it did for Sukuna a few minutes ago.
“What a drag”

Idk if Megumi is becoming toji but I feel like..he could go down a villian path. Remember what he said to that one girl who wanted him to protect her or something?? The one who used to say shit like "Reggie sama said he loves me".
It's pretty clear from the very start that Megumi's motto is not about protecting the weak or whatever. He only shakes for people HE holds close to his heart or the ones HE think are worthy enough to be saved. I feel like...that could easily spiral him into something like a Getou path. Like him not understanding why he has to fight with his life for people who he doesn't give a shit about or people who doesn't give a shit about him.
With that said I don't know if he's going to become a villian by himself. It could be that someone messed with his morals or he could even be black mailed or something. Like "stick with me and maybe we'll bring out gojo".
And there's that thing about sukuna having something to do with Megumi which has not been revealed yet but its pretty clear that it can't be anything good. so I kind of see a chance for Megumi to become a negative charector in the future.
You mean Remi and her insistence on Megumi making a promise to protect her. I actually have a theory on why she's so dead-set on others making promises to her, which if I'm right, it's probably going to teach Megumi an important lesson about letting his (negative) perceptions of people interfere with how he helps them and how they help him. (PS: We like Remi in this house, so I'm not gonna say anything bad about her for Megumi's sake.)
I'd also like to point out that despite his words, Megumi did put himself in between Remi and danger multiple times. He may think down on her because of his perception that she puts more importance on words rather than actions, but that didn't stop him from keeping her safe.
Anywho I hope Remi comes back.
But on to the rest. Megumi has always had the mindset of only saving the people that he thinks are worth saving. It's what he and Yuuji argued about all the way back in the Cursed Womb arc and then talked about later when Megumi was recovering from Hanami's attack during the Goodwill Event.
The evolution of this idea is a big part of his character and also one of the things that I desperately want to see development for in the current arc. But I don't think that that mindset is going to lead to any kind of dark-side arc unless something drastic happens to shake his moral compass. Like someone he loves dying or becoming an antagonist....
Side Note: The deuteragonist switching sides is a common shonen trope and we all know how Gege loves to flip those on their heads, so I wouldn't be upset with either outcome -- Megumi having or rejecting a villain arc.
For the Sukuna point, there's still so much information missing on Sukuna's motivations and plans, but I do agree with you that what Gege has in store between the two is going to impact Megumi's character greatly, whether that be for better or worse.

Hello! I know this may not be your thing but I decided to give it a shot, if not no biggy!
I was wondering if you would be interested in writing Gojo and/or Sakuna with an asexual lover? (One that doesnt feel sexual attraction but doesnt mind kissing and cuddling etc and loves physical affection but nothing beyond that?) And like, how a relationship with that kind of person would come to be?
Because Sakuna and Gojo both give off *he totally fucks* vibes.
So how they ended up with an asexual lover would be interesting, maybe the MC rejects their advances because fear of being hated for being Ase? Because they know that the other person definitely fucks.
How would their relationship work? How would the guy react/comfort the MC.
(Maybe it ends with a epilogue with no sex(as in penetration and blowjobs to be exact but mc later in a relationship would be willing to do things like handjobs and other hands on/Using toys to pleasure their partner because they cant in that way) but lots of passionate makeout sessions/kissing/sucking and worshiping the mc's body? Especially the collar bone)
If you arent into it that's cool! I totally get it!
This is pretty self indulgent after all ahahaha it's hard being an asexual in fandoms lmao.
hi my love!! okay to start off, i’m really honored you sent in this request to me. idk just the fact that you’re trusting me with it is really sweet hehe. i’m fairly knowledgable about sexuality but i don’t like to write about things i’m not 100% sure about because i don’t wanna risk doing anything wrong or accidentally offending you! but!! thank you for going into detail with the request, and i hope this is what you were looking for, and that i didn’t do any mistakes <3
i wrote headcanons so i can go into detail and write for both!!
some nsfw under the cut, my loves! <3
Tumblr media
ryomen sukuna
i’d say, to begin with, it would take a small while for sukuna to even be accepting of his own feelings towards you. nothing having to do with your sexuality, just you in general, specifically that you’re human and so different from him. i don’t think sex ever crosses his mind, at least at the start, because he’s too busy being really angry over the way he can’t seem to control his reactions to every little thing you do. so he himself won’t actively work at starting a relationship with you.
but he will realize, over time, that you’re not doing anything either, even though he’s been noticing that you’re not pushing him or his advances away. like any act of protectiveness that involves him physically touching you intimately, you don’t reject, and you’re always ready to retort at any quip he had. he could tell that these feelings he had for you were mutual, he was just so confused as to why you weren’t doing anything about it.
sukuna’s a thousand year old cursed spirit. he does not know shit about sexuality. i think the way he’d look at it is fuck who you want and fuck who you like. i feel like nicki minaj’s said that before, has she? he doesn’t like thinking too much about it, you know?
his confession would probably be a kiss because words? he doesn’t know them. when he feels you return the kiss he’s, deep down, elated, really, and this is simply because of his naturally sexual personality, he starts hinting at more, until you stop him. he’s really confused because you just kissed him back? you’ve been kissing him for so long why do you want to stop now? he can see the fear steadily growing in your eyes and he’s even more confused now he’s just. humans are so weird.
when you cautiously tell him, “i don’t want to go further than this. is that okay?” you look like you’re waiting for the world to erupt in your face. he just frowns and shrugs like, “yeah but that’s not the point. do you not want me?”
it takes about an hour and a half for sukuna to properly process what you’re saying. at first he’s so thrown off by it, not by you! he just can’t process the fact that someone doesn’t feel any sexual attraction towards someone or doesn’t crave sex at all. it’s not that he’s rude about it, it’s just a really foreign concept to him, you know? when you add that it’s just sex, and you’re okay with a lot of other things, the gears in his brain finally start working again and he just goes.
*shrugs* ok.
literally lmao. like i said earlier, sukuna doesn’t give a shit like whatever do what you want.
because of the rush of emotions he’s feeling towards you, and the fact that this in itself, a relationship, and a relationship with a human too, he doesn’t really focus on the fact that he might want more from you. he’s easily satisfied with a lengthy make out session, and he admits it to you every time he sees you get a little anxious or unsure of yourself.
however, his needs do grow with your relationship. it’s kind of clumsy, your transition into a proper long term relationship, especially with sukuna, but you two make it work.
you agree to try different ways to pleasure him, even if he kinda rushes through them because he’s generally just excited to have your hands on him. at first he’s content with anything you’re offering, but it makes him feel kinda useless when you won’t let him touch you and you have to remind him that your needs are different than his and that you’re sated differently.
i see sukuna as a curious and experimental guy, so he would definitely let you use toys on him. nothing too extreme, because he still needs that sense of control, but you do use some toys like a fleshlight or a vibrator to rile him up. he likes using your hand too, because it’s always so soft against him and it feels a hundred times better than any toy. he learns not to overstep any boundaries though, and not to do anything that might make you uncomfortable even if it takes him a little longer. like i said, the whole idea is just different to him, so it takes him a while to understand, and he’s still learning as he goes!
he loves your make out sessions, especially after you establish your boundaries and your limits and what you’re willing to do for him. he absolutely adores leaving your skin a sky of blue, pink and purple it sends chills down his spine marking you like that. he’s always touching you all over, and just loves to grab and knead at your skin.
in the proper long term, he doesn’t mind it at all tbh. the two of you develop a system, and he’s okay with it. the same way you would never cross his boundaries and force him to do anything he doesn’t want, he’d do for you too! it really never truly mattered, and it truly never will.
gojō satoru
different from sukuna, i think gojō would definitely be knowledgable about things like this. idk he just seems like the kind of guy that’s innately so aware of everything around him, and can read people exceptionally well.
he probably picked up on the fact that you weren’t comfortable with sex, or just didn’t experince sexual attraction, on his own, but never really brought it up because it was never his place. but the same way he picks up on that, he picks up on your obvious crush on him. he pays both details no specific attention until he starts to realize his own feelings for you, and begins on his subtle advances.
he tried to make his advances as sfw as possible, you know? just in case his suspicions were confirmed to be true. he was just extra flirty, sometimes touchy but never in an inappropriate way. very subtilely like always having your shoulders or knees touching or dusting of your jacket or feeding you a piece of his food. cute little things like that.
he gets super worried when he notices you start to distance yourself from him, because he can’t imagine what he might’ve did to push you away. he overthinks a little, worried that he overstepped his boundaries or made you uncomfortable in any way, but he isn’t afraid to approach you about it, to make sure he doesn’t repeat his mistakes, especially with someone like you, who he’s slowly growing more and more infatuated by.
when you admit to him you’re asexual, he realizes he was right, but then he’s like, “and? did i do something?” and now it’s your turn to be confused because here you were worried about rejection but here he was worried about you?
this specific incident is what makes you let loose and finally just freely admit your feelings for him. he’s ecstatic about it, seriously! all that’s on his mind is that he gets to go on a date with someone he really likes. sex is the last thing on his mind, and yeah, you’ll eventually have to talk about it, but not for now. it’s for later, when things get a little more serious.
they do get serious, to both your delights, but the dreaded moment is approaching you. gojō definitely sits you down and says, “we’re only having this talk so i know never to do anything outside of your limits. everything about this relationship is 50/50, and i want to know ways to make you feel good, too.”
please sir your hand in marriage.
i definitely believe gojō’s a kinky guy, and is more than willing to try out literally any sex toy you pull at him. genuinely, he’ll try anything you wanna try. if you ever offer a handjob, he’ll ask a million times over if you’re sure. usually, he likes to just do it himself, but have you there next to him. he won’t touch you, but your hands will be in his hair, and you’ll be kissing his neck, or just murmuring how much you love him in his ear, just spurring him on. he knows the last thing on your mind is anything sexual, but there’s just something about being under your watchful, almost bored gaze as he fucks himself.
anyways before i get too into it lmfao, he loves kissing you. loves loves loves it. not even full blown make out sessions, just gentle, serene kissing. he can kiss you for hours.
he is also incredible at body worship and praise. paints your pretty collarbone pink and purple, whispers about how you’re perfect for him, describes all your features to you like poetry. he’s an incredible lover, really. nothing can make him fall out of love with you, absolutely nothing.

JJK chapter 144 thoughts/review/analysis
Lots of thoughts...
Tumblr media
- I LOVE YUTA. He’s an absolute badass but also still the same old cinnamon roll. Truly a senpai deserving of Megumi’s respect. I love how he looks after his all his classmates and kouhais. Look at my cinnamon roll.
- Yuji is back on his feet again. GOOD. My boy always finds strength to get back on his feet.
- Yuji’s request to Yuta to kill him if Sukuna takes over again has me worrying... (also, Yuta accepting his request so casually😅 It’s cool tho that both Yuji and Yuta have so much faith in his abilities. And ma man Yuta is still so humble.)
- They’ve got so much to deal with rn. The culling game, retrieving the prison realm, finding a way to unseal Gojo, the Brain in general... and Tengen - we don’t know where he stands...
- But I’m looking forward to the students working together again. Especially since Yuta is finally back. We lost Gojo but at least we have Yuta and Tsukumo on our side. Things don’t look too dark.
- Tsukumo not vibing with the higher ups either, I see 😂 Good, good.
- Yuji asking about Nobara’s condition while they were in the middle of discussing their plan on what to do next just goes to show how much it’s weigthing on him...
- Ok now, EVERYONE PLS CALM DOWN. I’m sure Nobara is alive - for now at least. We don’t know what her status was (or how much Yuji knew about her status) before Yuji left but she surely was alive/not dead yet at that time. Megumi would have said she died if that was the case. There’s no reason to hold this kind of fact from Yuji. It just doesn’t make sense to withhold this kind of irreversible information from him. It wouldn’t spare him from anything if she’s really already dead. It’d just unnecessarily keep him in a state of pointless hope. I think it’s really just that she’s still in critical condition. There’s no real change in her condition so he didn’t say anything. Also, I trust that Gege is a good enough writer to not play us with fake hope just to come back dozens of chapters later to be like “oh, btw she actually already died”. And I mean, Nobara is one of the main three characters. It’s too early for her to go (even for a ruthless series like JJK).
Tumblr media
^ Yuji’s reaction to that looks quite devastating nonetheless. But I think the reaction would be much bigger if she was dead. Him tightening his fist and saying “I get it“ (or “I see/understand“ in the other TL) points to a lot of tension but also to him still holding on to the little bit of hope he has been holding on to. It was a sad expression at first but then he tightens his fist and the last panel to this shows a change of his expression from sad/devasted to one with a glimpse of... determination?(- he doesn’t look as shaken as before is what I mean). And just his overall demeanor after that doesn’t imply that he just learned of Nobara’s death. I’m sure she’ll survive and be as badass as ever and with cool eyepatch or something. Girls with battlescars FTW!
- Listen Gege, you didn’t have to go that far to change Maki’s hairstyle...
- So I take it that Maki is pretty much all good now? I was a little worried because the expression in her eye doesn’t show the same energy/detemination as before (or is it just me?). Also, to hell with the Zenin clan ppl. Maki on deathbed? Haha. She’s ready to kick you guys’ asses anytime.
Tumblr media
^ Yuta rushing to Maki’s side all concerned is really cute
Tumblr media
^ I’m so happy for you, Choso. And sorry that you (and your burst of happiness) got ignored by everyone right after and Yuji also just turned around and went ahead with his bro Megumi lol.
Tumblr media
^ Damn, those bloodstains gave me major chills.
Tumblr media
^ “That’s when everything began to get distorted” - I feel like there’s much more to it then we think...
- And what’s up with Tsukumo? Why’d she get rejected? What does Tengen not interfering with the outside world have to do with the Six Eyes? (Did he not interfere because Gojo was powerful enough to take care of things outside or is there some other history between them?)
Tumblr media
^ We finally get to meet Tengen and THIS IS HOW HE LOOKS LIKE??? JJK character face reveals tend to have me 🤣 Tengen-sama... I always pictured him like some sorta old, wrinkled but badass looking gramps or some other creature. Definitely anything but this xD (Just like how I never expected Gojo to look prettier than any shojo protagonist lol)

JuJutsu Kaisen school headcanons
“some jjk school headcanons? not with a reader or anything but just how itadori and the other first years are in school?”-anon
This was pretty fun! Each character is pretty short but it still turned out longer than it needed to be oops.
So we all know that theres a proper private school to teach upcoming shamans. Tokyo Metropolitan Curse Technical College...thats a long ass name no wonder i didn’t remember it. But in the manga and anime, they dont exactly go into details of what they do for the school(i might be completely wrong just lemme know)
In the yuuta 4 chapter story, we kinda get a glimpse
Gojo is one of the few teachers and he teaches first years in a small classroom. i dont know what exactly he teaches but sometimes they go outside to train and well when yuuta and the others were training i forget if he was actually teaching anything. Like he gave him a sword to help with his powers and gave a brief explanation but thats about it.
Anyways.
Tumblr media
Itadori Yuji:
Is late to class for the first couple days since he doesn’t remember the lay out of the campus
Its so huge for so little people
Sometimes he’s late just cause he slept in
doesnt really understand whats going on
He only just recently learned this world existed so of course he’s out of the loop with everything
he probably naps in class alot or spaces out
‘If i were to feed sukuna’s mouth on my hand...where would the food go? What would happen? How deep does it go?  What the hell has my body become??’
As his thoughts continue to derail, gojo would call on him and he might yell in response
he often asks megumi or nobara for help but they just dis him or ignore him
He tries to study! He really does! But he gets distracted and loses focus quite easily
during training he gets super excited thinking hes going to unlock abilities
but thats quickly shot down and hes usually just forced to do something really mundane like run laps or jumping jacks
He might get another dummy to help control his cursed energy while gojo does his best to annoy him (honestly it doesnt take much for gojo to be annoying)
believes everything gojo says
The blindfolded teacher definitely uses that to his advantage
“if you lick this rock it might help your overall abilities” “...really?” “are you doubting your sensei?” “is that...mud?” “Its just part of the rock. Besides you ate a rotten old finger for power im sure you can deal with a little bit of dirt”
He got sick for a week
Tumblr media
Fushiguro Megumi:
Hes the kid who sits by the window and just stares out of it the whole class
He finds gojo’s teaching style incredibly annoying
Yes he learns stuff but because of the way Gojo teaches it, he ends up doubting all the knowledge he knew before in the process
Probably does well on tests or whatever homework their assigned
This kid probably makes himself a neat little bento for lunch
During lunch Yuji saw it and asked if he could have one next time instead of always buying food
He rejected his request for a while
But eventually he decided ‘why not its not like it would take that much more effort’
Nobara saw and was like “oh so you made one for a dunce like him but not me?”
Queue a large sigh
Within a month or two he makes everybody lunch (gojo included because he got tired of him always coming by and swiping a bit of food from everyone)
During training he pets his animals quite a bit
When gojo demonstrates a new self defense technique, megumi always gets picked to help demonstrate
110% of the time it ends up with his face being smeared into the floor
Wont ever admit it but he kinda enjoys class with yuji and nobara
Kugisaki Nobara:
Tumblr media
Pretty short since i don’t quite know her character that well sorry
I feel like shes a mix of passing but also failing idk
Like during some tests she’d pass with flying colors and without a doubt will show off to the boys
But in other things she’d completely flunk
Draws little doodles in the corner of her notes and thinks about her childhood friend
During training she dislikes learning hand to hand combat
Mainly because she knows shes not capable of beating yuji and that ticks her off
So instead she beats him with her rubber mallet when given the chance
When yuji asks her to join him and megumi, she often complains or makes sassy comments but she never really ignores them
If she wanted to she could just hang by her self but she enjoys being with the two
Gojo Satoru:
Tumblr media
This guy never shows up on time
Once he almost did so he simply turned around and decided not to show up at all
He doesn’t necessarily dislike teaching, but he finds giving detailed explanations kinda boring
‘I just told you what would happen, so why are you asking for a reasoning of the reaction’
He wants his students to have a fun teenage life so he often cuts class short by an hour or two just to hang out or go out
He explains how to counter certain types of curses or what to do in some scenarios pretty well
Gojo tries to teach regular stuff like math or history but...i dont know actually
Im not sure if he would happily teach it or just give up after a couple problems
I have a feeling he might just randomly give stupid hard problems and laugh as the first years struggle and fail to solve it
If any of his students do well on a test he’ll give them a small treat
And it may be small for him but its probably hella expensive
I mean he literally just wears clothing that is a couple thousand dollars each
His socks are most likely worth more than my house and everything inside it
Theres probably a small rule book of what he’s supposed to say and what hes not supposed to say
So just to piss the old man off he says everything he shouldnt
He encourages stupid behavior and absoluetly loves it when Yuji and Nobara thanks him for getting treats

The Curse’s “Creed”
Tumblr media
Jujutsu Kaisen has a set of unique antagonists. Curses that are made of and emerge from the darker side of human emotion, and yet have gained intelligence and emotions of their own. They are at the same time, human and completely inhuman. Underneath the cut let’s explore the unique psychology of Jujutsu Kaisen’s most terrifying villains.
1. Living True to Their Desires
Tumblr media
In chapter 92-93 after already sealing Gojou there is a unique dialogue scene where after gaining victory, Mahito, Jogo, Choso, the three intelligent curses still decide to throw caution in the wind simply because they can. They act according not to logic, but to their own desires. To summarize the situation lightly all three curses, plus Fake Getou engineered the Shibuya incident with the primary goal of sealing Gojou. They also have a secondary goal of giving all of sukuna’s fingers to Yuji in order to grant Sukuna possession of the body and persuade him to their side, with those two objectives victory would be on their side. However, rather than doing the logical thing, Mahito suggests they do the illogical thing.
They kill Yuji now, not because it serves any strategic purpose but because Mahito simply wants to. He wants to throw the whole plan off not for any good reason, but just because he strongly dislikes Yuji. It’s a situation that is all risk and practically no gain. For a human there would be practically no reason to do this besides “I want to”, but for a curse this move almost makes sense. Curses are the living embodiment of whims. They are desires. Understanding that curses lack the ability to say no to their own desires the way humans do is important to understanding them.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The origin of curses lie in human beings. As Megumi explains, negative emotions that are regularly repressed subconsciously flow out of people and gather in places. These story concepts are based on several real world psychology concepts.
The Shadow.
In Jungian psychology, the "shadow", "Id", or "shadow aspect/archetype" may refer to (1) an unconscious aspect of the personality which the conscious ego does not identify in itself, or (2) the entirety of the unconscious, i.e., everything of which a person is not fully conscious. In short, the shadow is the unknown side.
Because one tends to reject or remain ignorant of the least desirable aspects of one's personality, the shadow is largely negative.
Repression.
Repression is the psychological attempt to direct one's own desires and impulses toward pleasurable instincts by excluding them from one's consciousness and holding or subduing them in the unconscious. Repression is a key concept of psychoanalysis, where it is understood as a defence mechanism that "ensures that what is unacceptable to the conscious mind, and would if recalled arouse anxiety, is prevented from entering into it."
Collective Unconscious
Collective unconscious (German: kollektives Unbewusstes) refers to structures of the unconscious mind which are shared among beings of the same species. It is a term coined by Carl Jung. According to Jung, the human collective unconscious is populated by instincts, as well as by archetypes: universal symbols such as The Great Mother, the Wise Old Man, the Shadow, the Tower, Water, and the Tree of Life.
Basically to put these three ideas into practice as an explanation for the emergence of curses. Every person has an unconscious part of their mind. This is made up of all the anxieties and undesirable aspects of ourselves that we are mostly unaware of. People do not live their lives constantly confronting the worst aspects of life, or their own negative emotion, so to live from day to day most people choose to repress, that is a defense mechanism that pushes unsavory things to the back of your mind. Finally if everyone has an unconscious mind comingles and forms a society, then Jung posits that everybody in that society collectively generates an unconscious as well.
Tumblr media
For example in the fight against Toji, Getou summons a Kuchi-saki Onna. This isn’t a traditional Yokai, but rather an urban legend that went around in the modern ages. It’s a story that people started telling about a woman who wearing a face mask walks up to a man, asks them if they’re pretty, and if he says no she kills him, if he says yes, she cuts his face up to look exactly like hers. This urban legend is told and retold enough times and enough people believe it that it basically enters the popular conscious. Jung’s idea of the collective unconscious is the same, that myths emerge from the fact that people existing in a society all tend to share the same experiences in life and therefore often tell the same stories over and over again.
Tumblr media
Curses’s emerge from this collective repression that humans do. Humans are built from lies. Humans feel hatred, murderous intent, but choose to repress these emotions instead of acting on them.
Tumblr media
What Jogo is referring to is the persona. If the shadow is what’s underneath the surface, then the persona is the surface. It’s the mask that all humans wear.
The persona, for Swiss psychiatrist Carl Jung, was the social face the individual presented to the world—"a kind of mask, designed on the one hand to make a definite impression upon others, and on the other to conceal the true nature of the individual"
Persona is the way humans engage other people. Behavior is in part a performance. The way you behave changes based on who you are around, you don’t swear in front of your grandma, but you might if you’re hanging out with friends. Therefore you’re always intentionally presenting a portion of your personality and trying to show what you consider to be your best traits rather than your worst traits. The conscious mind decides, it acts, it performs, whereas the unconscious mind that we have no control over simply is. Which is why Jogo says that curses products of an unconscious mind are simply more honest than regular human beings.
Curses lack that mask. They can’t repress, they can’t lie, and they can’t ever deny their whims.
2. I Desire
This panelling in Mahito’s plan to either kill Yuji or offer the fingers to Sukuna is symbolic of this divide between conscious and unconscious. There are two faces to Yuji Itadori. There are two people essentially dwelling within the same body.
Tumblr media
There is the forward facing Yuji, a well meaning boy who wants to save everyone he possibly can and surround himself with friends so he doesn’t want to die all alone like his grandfather. Then there’s Sukuna, the reverse face, the other side violence, selfishness, and the idea that might makes right personified. They may seem like total opposites, and yet they exist within the same body.
Tumblr media
Sukuna... Sukuna is literally called a two faced spectre. He’s thematically designed around the concept of having too faces. But, Sukuna and Yuji aren’t the only two faced characters. Everyone has two faces, ultimately.
Yuji seems like he is too much of a good boy to have anything in common with Sukuna, but once again the idea here is dualism and not opposites. Yuji and Sukuna are two sides of the same coin. Yuji for all of his good intentions, is also capable of murderous anger, and relying on violence and strength above all else to solve his problems. Sukuna isn’t Yuji’s opposite, but rather someone who exist on the other side of Yuji.
And Jung would argue that this collectively exists for all people. Yuji can have a terrifying curse like Sukuna existing in his shadow. Getou who was a decent, caring person can suddenly snap one day and decide to kill every last person on earth. Curses argue that these violent desires, these horrible urges, are not inhuman but rather that they’re perfectly human and emerge from human nature. Jogo uses this reasoning to assert that because they are unfailingly true to these desires that curses are more human than human beings themselves.
This is in part what the small fry and reverse retribution arc was about.
Tumblr media
Junpei, who is for the most part a normal good kid who loves his mom is also casually thinking about how if he had a button to press that would kill all of his bullies he would press it without hesitation. At the beginning of the arc Junpei isn’t seriously thinking of killing them of course, but those negative emotions exist in his head. Junpei is the standin for the everyman character. It’s an understandable feeling, if you were being bullied consistently and didn’t have a happy life, part of you would just wish the bullies would go away by any means necessary.
It’s not that hard to believe that the desire to kill is a completely human urge rather than an inhuman one. After all, humans make weapons, humans make wars, all of these are ugly sides of human nature that we often turn a blind eye too rather than confront.
Tumblr media
Mahito argues to Junpei that there’s no reason for him to restict themselves. Because Mahito lacks what most humans would call a conscience, or a set of restraints. It’s like most people might feel the urge to kill their bullies just because they want the pain to end, but also most people have a switch that prevents them from acting on those urges. For Mahito that switch is broken. He has no mechanisms of repression, he’s pure desire.
Tumblr media
So he doesn’t get it. He doesn’t get why people would choose to restrict themselves in any way. He doesn’t understand why people would want anything other than absolute freedom. What Mahito encourages Junpei to do is to live more like a curse. To do what he desires when he desires without needlessly holding himself back or thinking of the consequences.
Tumblr media
It once again sounds inhuman but it emerges from human psychology. There’s an idea that overlaps with the shadow called the Id. Freud and Jung basically had models for the unconscious mind, Jung had a split model with Persona / Shadow while Freud split the mind into three.
In the ego psychology model of the psyche, the id is the set of uncoordinated instinctual desires; the super-ego plays the critical and moralizing role; and the ego is the organized, realistic agent that mediates, between the instinctual desires of the id and the critical super-ego
The id is a set of uncoordinated instinctual desires. For example if you had a cookie on a plate in front of Mahito and you told him not to eat it for five minutes, Mahito would have already eaten the cookie before you finished telling him. Mahito is pure Id, without any other part of the ego to interfere in his decisions. Freud split the ego into three planes, and just by coincidence there are now three major curses left.
Tumblr media
Mahito, Choso, and Jogo. This is what we call a freudian trio, each character corresponds with one area in the model of the psyche. Mahito who is the most impulsive and desirious of the three is the Id. Mahito is unrestrained, while he seems to enjoy the company of the other curses he doesn’t seem to mourn Hanami’s death at all (when even Jogo reacted to it), and decides everything even his involvement with Junpei who he merely found interesting until he didn’t based on a whim. He lives his life unrelated, unattached. Which makes sense because Mahito is literally the embodiment of the fear to connect that stops people from getting close to others.
Tumblr media
Choso is the opposite of Mahito. He’s the one most tied down. While Mahito emerges from the human psyche, Choso himself is literally a half-human half-curse hybrid with human emotions which makes him the most human of the trio as well. Mahiro is unrestricted, but Choso deliberately chooses to bind himself to his family, and his blood ties. Unlike Mahito he’s genuinely upset when he loses those ties and feels an obligation to kill Yuji to destroy them. He literally even uses blood as his weapon, and blood is a symbol of connection. This makes him the super-ego, because he’s the overly restrained and critical one.
Tumblr media
Jogo, the middle ground between those two extremes who is also the only one trying to stick to the plan is the ego. While he’s the one trying to remain logical, it’s also easy to appeal to his curse nature and just like it’s the ego’s job to negotiate between the Id, and Superego, Jogo is the Ego because he serves as the middle ground between the two extremes who keeps their long term goal in mind.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Mahito can only think of his goal in the short term, and Choso can only think of the family ties he’s obligated to uphold, which makes the role of being the one to reconcile them both into looking at the big picture falls to Jogo.
Jogo is still a curse ultimately though, and he’s easily persuaded by Mahito’s appeal to desire rather than his logic.
Tumblr media
Despite being capable of logical decision making Jogo is ultimately, prey to his impulsive nature as a curse. He doesn’t want to lose at the game, or left behind from all the others, or deny his desires and because of that he gets lured by Mahito into making the illogical move.
Tumblr media
If in humans the conscious mind is the ruler, and the shadow is the subject then its the reverse in curses. The shadow is the ruler, desire will trump everything else while conscious mind will always fall underneath the rule of desire. Curses are capable of thinking and being logical, but they don’t have the switch that lets them repress themselves like humans do, and that’s what makes them so deadly.

Crazy how loads of people from this fandom lacks faith in Megumi yet you've got the strongest sorcerer of today and the strongest sorcerer in history simultaneously vouch for him.
Gojo confidently believing Megumi will push through and know the truth about his father.
Sukuna, who pushed Higuruma and recognized his talent yet still said he wasn't anything special, but for some reason he never exhibited that kind of attitude to Megumi despite screwing with him over and over. It begs the question, what it is that they see in him doesn't it? Yet people prefer to ask dumbly why Megumi is acting the way he does as if the reason hadn't been made clear since the beginning.
And can we talk about the blatant hypocrisy in this fandom? People are comparing him to Yuji as if what he's going through is any different than that of Yuji in Shibuya. Did they conveniently forget how Todo had to step in and talk no jutsu Yuji to pick himself up cause he was so down in the dumps?
There's also the rampant complaints about characters not reacting emotionally to deaths and yet we have a character right now, whose reacting emotionally to the death of a loved one yet they're chastising him for it? Which is it really?
Welcome to jjk-confessions Sunday, not on a Sunday as per usual.
I'm going to repackage your ask and frame it using the following formula:
Megumi = the shadow.
The shadow = the repository of repressed or rejected aspects of our personality.
TLDR; Megumi catches very interesting projections to say the least.
Like potential man isn't even a bad meme tbh, because he is potential man. That's Megumi. But like, it's the attitude towards the idea that he is having such a hard time reaching his potential (something that is VERY understandable given his backstory and how that affected his sense of self).
I swear every time I see something bad about Megumi (other than "I just don't like him", "he doesn't speak to me", or "I couldn't get invested because xyz was missing from the narrative--that is actually lacking"), there's always some sort of rejection of vulnerability at the core of it.
Which as I have said only like 350,068,023 million times already I've been keeping track, Megumi rejects his vulnerability.
So when I see a lot of the comments about Megumi, what I see is the complete rejection of one's humanity if I'm honest. Like, everyone in jjk is being shown to have some kind of very flawed perception of the world, and for some reason Megumi picks up projections around being a bitch for someone, being weak, pathetic... do I keep going?
And this is all so interesting to observe because he is such a beautiful character when you take the time to understand him. Gege cooked with Megumi.
Idk, I can't help but feel like it's interesting how Gege keeps breaking the 4th wall with jjk, and Megumi is one of the ways he's doing it. And idk about y'all, but I think he's very conscious of how he directs his energy towards the fandom.
idk how to explain well. Hopefully that makes some sort of sense lol.
Anyways. Thanks for sending a letter in anon. We remain strong.

K ~ Four Seasons of K: Koinobori
Tumblr media
The fourth story from the 4 seasons of K series. The Green clan’s turn to have a story. The original Japanese text is kindly provided by blueseraphima.
Koinobori[*] by Suzuki Suzu
"Come to think of it, Children's Day is coming soon, is it not."
The moment Hisui Nagare made this remark, everyone's chopsticks froze mid-motion.
At the time, Gojou Sukuna, picking his avocado salad, thought to himself, 'Here Nagare goes again, saying weird things.'
'Here Nagare-chan goes again with his weird remarks,' Mishakuji Yukari thought to himself at the same time, taking a bowl with miso soup.
Iwafune Tenkei wasn't an exception, thinking to himself as he gazed at pure white rice, 'That Nagare sure loves him some weird stuff'.
Only Kotosaka, pecking at fried chicken, thought at the time, 'Yummy!'
After a momentary silence, time started flowing again. Their tableware producing quiet clicking, each of the Jungle clansmen made an attempt to change the subject.
"By the way, Yukari, how did your latest mission go?" "Ah, monitoring Scepter 4's movements, you mean? It was too much of a hassle, so I threw it Douhan-chan's way." "Again? That's all you do lately!" "You're the one to talk, Iwa-san. Don't create a mission like 'We're out of toilet paper, so go buy us some' and set 1000 Jungle points for its completion like you did the other day!" "Well, it couldn't be helped, I had an emergency." "Oh right, thanks to that we can forget about toilet paper trouble for the next year or so though."
Listening to this exchange that sounded more like a family banter than a discussion between clansmen, Hisui ate his avocado salad, sipped his miso soup, and after finishing his rice and fried chicken, spoke up. "Come to think of it, Children's Day is coming soon, is it not."
Time came to a standstill yet again.
There were 2 patterns when Hisui Nagare brought up weird topics. The first one was when something weird suddenly occurred to him and he immediately voiced it. In this case, given a little time, he would let go of the subject like nothing happened more often than not. It was the second pattern that presented a problem - when Hisui tried to put into action something weird that he had thought up in advance.
The will of the Green King, Hisui Nagare, was iron. After all, he was a man who didn't shy away from doing something as reckless as challenging the strongest king, the Gold King, all alone for the sake of his ambition. You could ignore once what Hisui Nagare said, but if he bothered to repeat himself, trying to stop him was futile - this truth was fast becoming common knowledge among the Jungle leaders.
"...Indeed. In the world up above the Golden Week is about to begin, I suppose." The first to reply was Yukari. If there was no avoiding it, then he chose to dive into it head-first, fueling further discussion on the subject. "But well, it should be a rather distant topic for us, or what, did something happen? A random guess: do you want us to go on a trip somewhere all together or something?"
Sukuna and Iwafune started chiming in, too, probably getting the clue.
"A trip? Like last year when we went to the crater?" "In that case, we gotta make appropriate preparations. But what made you bring up such a topic all of a sudden, Nagare?"
Hisui, gazing at his clansmen, slowly shook his head. "No, I have no interest in a Golden Week trip. What I want is to celebrate Children's Day."
Yukari and Sukuna exchanged glances, talking to each other with their eyes only.
'Do you get what he means?' 'No, he totally lost me.'
Hisui spoke up, although it was unclear if he did it because he sensed his clansmen's confusion or not, "There was something that I have been pondering ever since Sukuna joined Jungle. To be exact, the premise is that since we have a child among our members, we have to celebrate Children's Day." "Hey, don't gimme that kid treatment!" "For that reason, I was preparing for it since last year. I researched the origin of Children's Day, screened customs and events associated with it, stocked up on the necessary materials..." "Listen to what I said!"
Completely ignoring Sukuna's burning anger, Hisui continued with a distant look, "I would like to celebrate it not only for Sukuna's sake, but for my own as well. In hindsight, I hardly ever had a chance to enjoy Children's day, you see. So I thought it would not hurt to make use of this opportunity and try. So I request we put it into practice." "Ugh," Iwafune groaned like he was stabbed in a weak point. Blank stare fixed upon the top of the tea table, he started muttering under his breath, "...Figures. To avoid Timeless Palace's pursuit, we couldn't do anything conspicuous..." "So long as we are staying here, at our secret base, there is no need to worry about that kind of public attention. We can celebrate to our heart's content. Since we have both the place and the occasion at our disposal, there is no reason not to." "Nagare, you, you're willing to go to such lengths..." By the time he wiped his eyes roughly, Iwafune already had an expression on his face like he had weathered the wave of emotional something. Clenching his hand into a fist, with the chopsticks still gripped in it, he thumped himself on the chest. "If that's the case, then we just have to celebrate! If there's something I can do to help, just tell me, no need to be shy!" "Understood. I will certainly appreciate your help on the matter, Iwa-san."
Faced with the two kings who came to a mutual understanding, Yukari and Sukuna could only exchange looks yet again and breathe out sorrowful sighs.
*
The secret base was a spacial long-abandoned underground water reservoir that Hisui illegally took over and remodeled. With the exception of the area where the Jungle leaders lived, it was an unduly wide empty space, sprawling far and wide. Colossal pillars standing tall at fixed intervals in the endless dark brought the image of an ancient temple to mind.
Walking between those pillars, Sukuna voiced one simple question, "By the way, is Children's Day something you're supposed to celebrate? Isn't it just another day off?" "Oh? I suppose it isn't celebrated as wide anymore for your generation, Sukuna-chan. Traditionally though, you were supposed to fly the carp-shaped koinobori flags and decorate special dolls on that day." "Originally, it was called Boys' Day. It originated in China and included a custom of decorating the gates with irises and cleansing the evil, which essentially represented the warring spirit - that is, it bore the meaning of honoring the art of war, and in the samurai society of Japan, it became a day to celebrate boys' growth and health. These are the roots of this marked day that later became modern Children's Day." "It sure brings back memories. In the past, kids would cosplay as warriors, armor and all, on that day. Hear this, Sukuna?" "I ain't doing that. Just. No. Way." Turning Iwafune down, Sukuna even shook his head pointedly from how much the idea evoked rejection in him. He also griped tighter the long stick that could become a scythe at any moment if he so wanted, his battle readiness eloquently showing that no amount of coercion would make him yield even an inch in this matter.
"Nowadays, the only celebratory practices remaining are carp flags and bathwater with iris petals. I considered doing armored warrior cosplay, but after taking into account the time and effort it would take to complete material selection, organize the manufacturing process and convince Sukuna to put it on, among other things, I had to perish the thought. Regrettably." "So you were planning to force me, huh..."
They threw comments in the same vein back and forth as they walked, until Hisui, who was leading the procession, stopped in his tracks - or more accurately, stopped his wheelchair.
"Whoa, that's..." "When did you..."
The clansmen couldn't help half-shocked, half-impressed noises that escaped them.
The object those utterings were about was a giant pole. Towering on a foundation so sturdy that it probably could only be made on the spot, it had a presence about it that rivaled that of the surrounding colossal pillars. Illuminated from the four sides, it commanded the impression of a through-and-through monument.
Hisui crossed to the pole, and only then turned to the other three. Usually Hisui's poker face remained emotionless, but this time, with shades of light and shadow playing on his face, he looked vaguely proud.
"I have everything prepared. All that is left is to pull that rope to raise the koinobori flags."
And like he said, the koinobori had been prepared as well. Four emerald green flags lay there, like fish washed ashore.
"If you already went that far, you should've just finished it and raised them yourself..." "This wheelchair's arms could not grasp the rope tightly enough, so Iwa-san, Yukari, Sukuna, I ask you to do the honor." "Sure! Leave it to this old man!" Iwafune rolled up his sleeves excitedly and grabbed the rope.
Meanwhile, Yukari and Sukuna noticed a certain fact and, exceedingly puzzled expression on their faces, turned to each other to exchange troubled looks again.
"Hey, whatcha two standing there for? You got a mission from the king! Get pumped up and let's do this already!" "Sure, sure." "Iwa-san, you're a king, too, though."
With visible reluctance, the two grabbed onto the rope as well.
Observing them, Hisui nodded to himself with satisfaction, then announced like a host, "And now, celebratory raising of the koinobori flags for Children's Day. Please begin."
Prompted by his words, the three tugged at the rope simultaneously.
*
"Well, I had a feeling it would turn out this way." Yukari’s short harsh comment echoed through the sprawling space.
They did raise the koinobori. If three clansmen put effort into it, raising a flag or two was a piece of cake. The flags slid higher and higher as they pulled at the rope, eventually reaching the top of the pole and stopping.
On the pole, strangely brightly lit with light among the otherwise sinking into darkness pillars, 4 carp-shaped flags were suspended. The green bodies of the fish, hanging down listlessly, brought to mind morbid associations with corpses hung by the neck and looked like a ghastly objet d'art at best.
Sukuna tagged at Yukari sleeve, asking, "I haven't really seen the koinobori before, myself, but... Are they supposed to look like that?" "Well, at the very least, the koinobori that I've seen in my life streamed in the wind triumphantly."
Gazing expressionlessly up at his objet d'art, Hisui whispered a single word, "Wind..."
No wind blew in the underground. Naturally. Neither Yukari nor Sukuna knew how the Green King, Hisui Nagare, could overlook that simple and obvious fact.
Hisui's head dropped limply as he said in a quiet voice, "...Iwa-san, Yukari, Sukuna. I sincerely apologize. It is a grave overlook on my part. For some reason, I was under the wrongful impression that once raised, the flag would flutter on its own. Regrettable lapse of memory." Hisui, as he spoke dispassionately, didn't look any different than how he usually did. Except... "Children's Day celebration resulted in a failure. I will clean up here myself, so you can now lower the koinobori. Thank you for the effort..."
It left him feeling depressed, after all. Hisui Nagare may appear expressionless and unsocial, but he wasn't emotionless, and his clansmen knew it perfectly well.
Iwafune, Sukuna and Yukari looked at one another. Communicating their intention to each other took only a moment, and once they had confirmed it, they all started on a slow approach to Hisui.
"Giving up that easily ain't like you, eh, Nagare?"
Hisui lifted his lowered head. His eyes went just a little wide as he turned to look at the three.
"Like Iwa-san said, you're a king, so all you gotta do is just order us around." "Now then, let's get ready." Yukari put his hands on the wheelchair's handles and rolled it. Winking at Hisui who started up at him, he added in a light tone, "If wind doesn't blow, we just need to make it blow. That's how we do things at Jungle, isn't it?"
*
It was hard to call the secret base, originally constructed as a water reservoir facility, a place suitable for humans to live in. Hisui, having chosen this place out of necessity to hide from Timeless Palace, remodeled it in a few ways. He added lighting, installed a security system for the passages that led outside, built a 4 tatami living space... and also restructured water discharge channels, adding a number of vents.
"And hop!" Sukuna, jumping down from one of such vents, held out his PDA with a grin. "I dialed it up as far as it went, and it's ready to start operating any time. I rerouted all the power from the other fans to this one, so I guarantee we'll get us a good wind." "I'm finished with my preparations, as well. Moving the pole is quite bone-breaking, I have to say, but oh well, let's call it special training and leave it at that." "I'm all done sewing the koinobori. Had to shorten them a wee bit, but they still look nice enough."
Sukuna, Yukari and Iwafune gathered back together at Hisui's side.
No wind blew in the underground. But said underground had the necessary equipment to make wind blow. So the plan was to move the pole, placing it in the vicinity of a vent, and make the koinobori flags flutter in an artificially produced wind. Of course, they had to make up for the meager strength of such wind by reducing the mass of the koinobori...
Iwafune, Yukari and Sukuna cooperated, dividing the tasks between themselves and quickly completing all the groundwork. Hisui didn't waste time giving some instructions, and in no time, everything fell in place, illuminated koinobori flags shaped like carps hanging loosely in front of Hisui's eyes once again.
"All that's left is to turn on the fan in the vent, and we'll have us some wind. I transferred the operator rights on the fan to you, Nagare, so you do it." Grinning Sukuna flashed a thumbs-up.
Hisui blinked twice, stared at him for a while, then bowed his head to his clansmen. "...Iwa-san, Yukari, Sukuna, thank you very much." "You don't have to bow your head to us though." "You were so pumped up about this whole thing that I found myself wanting to see it, too. Alright, turn it on, c'mon!"
The clansmen's anticipating gazes focused on the koinobori flags.
Hisui, too, staring up at the pole's top once again, murmured, "Commencing operation."
A low rumble resounded. The fan, activated remotely, started rotating, slowly at first, then faster, gaining speed by the second. Its low droning echoed through the darkness, and before long the flapping of cloth started mingling with it. The four carp flags streamed in the wind, like they came back to life, swimming in the water.
"Quite beautiful," Yukari voiced his impression honestly.
Illuminated from all sides, the 4 green carps swayed, fluttered and danced in the wind, beating their tails as they did, and indeed, it was a beautiful, if somewhat fantastic, sight.
"Ohh... So this is the koinobori, huh! Pretty cool I gotta admit!" "Yeah, and it sure makes a far greater impression like this than if we did it outside. Oh well, all our troubles were worth it, then, heh."
Sukuna and Iwafune nodded to themselves with obvious satisfaction, and only Hisui didn't say a word, gazing at the swimming fish fixedly.
Tossing a glance at him from the side, Sukuna spoke up, trying to make it sound like an afterthought, "Speaking of, this is my first time seeing the koinobori, is this your first time, too, Nagare? Is that why you wanted to see it?" "No," Hisui quietly shook his head. "This is not my first time. There was one other time when I saw the koinobori, although I cannot remember when and where."
Hearing that reply in a murmuring calm voice, Sukuna's breath caught.
Iwafune said that due to being pursued by Timeless Palace, they had never had a chance to do the koinobori flag raising. In which case, the one other time when Hisui could see the koinobori had to take place before that. That is, before he had become the Green King. At the time when Hisui Nagare was still a normal human who had normal parents and lived with them as a family.
In a natural progression, the three's gazes shifted from the carp flags to Hisui then. It was unclear whether Hisui felt those stares or not when he continued, as if speaking to himself, "The meaning and influence of the koinobori that I saw at that time is very different. But... I feel that this one is more beautiful." "..."
Silence fell for a while, and then, Iwafune's mouth spread in a grin as he clapped Hisui on the shoulder. "Is that so. Great, then."
Hisui took his time to gaze at Iwafune, then Yukari, then Sukuna, and only after that said, "Yes. Great indeed."
A tiny smile curved his lips then.

Note
I recently saw a comment saying Sukuna is Megumi's Mahito, and y'know what it makes sense! After everything, I think Megumi has more beef with Sukuna now than Yuji does.
Right! And this goes back to those parallels... I'm going to let the boss indirectly answer this one tho: Spooky's thoughts on the topic.
What I'll add to the topic is the depth psych perspective--I taco'bout it under the cut.
Tumblr media
I haven't read Spooky's meta yet, and Spooky might have already mentioned this but... if I remember correctly, the outcome of Yuji vs. Mahito ended up being an acknowledgement of them being the same.
Sort of like Yuji acknowledged he was no better than Mahito's hate for humanity. That's what I understood of this but I could really use another read to deepen my understanding.
Anyways, all that to say that, part of the goal of the bath, is to marinate Megumi in cursed energy to have him be near "evil", right?
Tumblr media
To me this feels like Megumi has to face and confront and accept inner-evil the way Yuji had to confront his own hatred. This is especially poignant for Megumi because he's someone who rejects good and evil in himself and others. So this is defo part of the growth he needs to achieve: to bridge opposites.
In fact, I was reading a bit more about Vajrayana...
Tumblr media
(source)
... and part of what's really neat about this idea is that "in the Tantric view, enlightenment arises from the realization that seemingly opposite principles are in truth one."
Or in William Blake's words... "without contraries is no progression."
HMM! What is Gege cooking here?! Fascinating stuff.
SO... Megumi has big time beef with Sukuna because of everything that has happened, yes.
AND, Megumi also killed others without regard for them. We can use the self-defense argument all we want to sugar coat it, but it doesn't change the fact that it was a choice made in the name of self-preservation.
Tumblr media
Also, the way Megumi was so blasé about killing Reggie always unnerved me. Almost like he had to turn away from his humanity to be able to kill someone and not have this act disrupt his ego the way it happened to Yuji. To me this comes back to the idea of being self-sufficient that Sukuna talks about in ch 236.
Tumblr media
The only way you can kill others so easily is if you have no regard for their life to begin with; either because you see yourself as separate from them and/or because acknowledging their value is to love them (??).
Tumblr media
So I feel like this idea that Sukuna is Megumi's Mahito probably comes back around to the mindset that the characters have, and how Sukuna's turning away from love might be his own downfall precisely because of his over-identification with his sense of self.
Something like that lol.
Thanks for stopping by anon!
