Auni: I love this kid. I want him to think of me as a cool older sister or cool aunt. I bring him bugs every chance I get

I'll Cheer you on Always Kaolan Wongsawat

You were in the crowd, sitting next to Saw Paing in the stands, he was surprisingly quiet, but then again, Kaolan wasn't exactly fighting the strongest guy at the moment. He must've felt insulted, having to fight this little guy, anyone could see that he wasn't a fighter. You'd feel the same, seeing everyone else have a real opponent and then when it's your turn you get this... What a joke.

Earlier, when you were in the changing rooms with Kaolan, you couldn't help but giggle at the slight irritated twitch of his brow. He looked over his shoulder at you once he pulled up his shorts. "What's so funny?" He asked you. You gave him a sweet little smile. "Oh nothing, just you look irritated yet you're trying to hide it, it's just kind of funny you know?" You explained. He turned towards you. "So, my misfortune makes you laugh?" He asked.

You shook your head with a carefree eye roll. "Nooo, your misfortune doesn't make me laugh, it's the fact that this is getting to you, that's what makes me laugh." You explained as you stood up, taking slow steps to him. He watched you for a moment before he sighed. "So you're amused at my irrigation?... Just lovely." He complained. You rolled your eyes at him. 'Such a diva.' You thought you reached over at the bench behind him, picking up his robe. "Listen, instead of seeing this as an 'unfortunate event', try seeing it as a blessing." You said as you adjusted his robe in your hands correctly.

He gave you a questioning gaze. " 'A blessing'?... If anything this is an insult." He said as he held out his arms. You walked behind him, aiding him in putting on his robe, a patient smile on your face as you did, once it was on you smoothed down his shoulders, making sure he looked nice before you hugged him from behind. His hand rested on yours in response. "Think of it like this... Remember when we first met?... You considered that an unfortunate meeting as well remember?... And look at us now. Married for 7 years and going on strong." You said.

Your ear pressed against his back, listening to his faint heartbeat, his back vibrating as he spoke. "Yes, I remember clearly, you were a clumsy sight to see. You fell in front of Prince Rama making him trip and fall, his hand earned a cut from a rock as he caught himself... I wasn't exactly pleased when it happened." He said reminiscing on the past. It was a festival in the village that day. Everyone was happy, dancing, playing, cheering, laughing. It was a joyous day. You were a young adult, hustling and bustling about in the crowd, you always loved the festival, seeing everyone put out their best of everything.

You had just gotten some ice cream, chasing away the heat, you were on your 5th lick, when you suddenly tripped. "OOF!!... OH NO, MY ICE CREAM!!" You cried in vain as you landed on your knees, you crawled forward, trying to salvage what was left of your snack, when something hard kicked into your side, making you and 'it' fall over. "WHOA!!" "OWW!!" You both cried out. You fell on your side, the pain where you were hit was throbbing but not insanely so.

"MY PRINCE, ARE YOU OKAY!? YOU'RE BLEEDING!!" Came a man's voice, your eyes widened as you pulled yourself from your daze, and you looked over, seeing Prince Rama himself getting off the ground, blood on the dirt by his feet, another man stood next to him, he was tall and strong, his hands were gently cradling the Prince's hand as he inspected the wound. The prince waved him off. "I'm fine, Kaolan, no need to fret." He said as he pulled away from him.

You stared on, embarrassed and shocked at the fact that the prince was here... And that you made him trip and get hurt. You were pulled from your thoughts when Prince Rama held his clean hand out to you. "Are you okay, miss? I didn't hurt you, did I?" He asked, you looked up at him and you shook your head. He smiled. "Good, now up on your feet, the ground is no place for a woman to be." He said, you took his hand and he pulled you up.

You busted off your clothes quickly before you straighten up. "Prince Rama, I'm so sorry, please forgive me." You said hastily as you bowed your head. The prince just laughed as he waved you off. "No need for any of that, it's just a little scratch." He said, fanning off your concerns. But the other man, Kaolan, wasn't so lenient about it. " 'Just a little scratch?'... My Prince, your hand has been pierced by a rock!! You need medical attention immediately!!" He said urgently.

You looked over at Kaolan and back over at Prince Rama. "Pierced!? Are you okay, Prince Rama!? You need to see urgent help immediately!!!" You yelled as you stared at him with wide and worried eyes. Prince Rama looked between you both, before he began laughing. "HAHAHAHA!!!! You two act like parents and you don't even know each other!! This is amazing!!" He said joyously. Both you and Kaolan stared at him and before you looked at each other and back at the Prince.

"Come, come!! Let's all go and see a medical professional, and then afterwards we can all go and enjoy the festival together!!!" He said as he placed an arm around your shoulders, pulling you along with him as he walked away. "O-oh!! But Prince Rama, you shouldn't spend the festival with a lady like me, why not with friends and family!?" You spoke quickly and nervously. Prince Rama looked over at you, a smile on his face. "I chose to hang with you, because I like you, your company is simply pleasant." He explained. You stared at him with wide eyes. 'WHAT KIND OF AN EXCUSE IS THAT!?' You thought.

That was 11 years ago, but it felt shorter. Your time with Kaolan and Prince Rama has been very fun indeed, no day was ever the same, especially when Saw Paing was involved. Kaolan sighed. "That day was full of misfortunes, Prince Rama tore open his palm, twice that day, you fell and tripped pretty much the whole day, I nearly twisted my ankle, and Saw Paing decided to come and be a gremlin." He spoke, but he didn't sound annoyed. You chuckled at his complaints. "Yes, but those misfortunes led to our marriage." You said.

He didn't say anything as he gently tightened his hold on your hands. "Yes, that is true... And I don't regret a single misfortune either." He said, as he picked your hand up and he gently kissed it. You smiled as you walked around him, your hand still in his as you came around him. "So, try and not see this as a misfortune, but as a blessing, you never know, you might learn a thing or two from that young man out there, might even become friends." You said.

He stared down at you, the tender gaze in his eyes grew slightly irritated. "As if I'd learn something from him, the only thing he could possibly teach me, is that there is someone more annoying than Saw Paing." He said, as he let your hand go, he walked past you heading to the door. You stared at him before you gave him a mischievous smirk. "I'll be sure to cheer for his success then, since you're oh so confident in your win." He paused, his hand on the handle. He looked over at you. "You wouldn't dare." He said. You placed your hand on your hip. "Try me, go out there with that same mindset, and I will." You said. He grumbled in annoyance. "Your cheers are only reserved for me." He said.

"And Saw Paing." You added. He stared at you for a moment. "Unless he's against me." He said. You rolled your eyes playfully at him. "You have nothing to worry about, I'll always cheer you on, Kao, no matter who your opponent is, whether they're weak or strong, tall or short, handsome or ugly-" "Or sexy?" Kaolan cut you off. You stared at him for a moment before you looked off. "Weeeeeellllll." He gave you an unimpressed stare. You chuckled as you walked over towards him. "I'm kidding I'm kidding!!" You said, reassuring him as you reached up with your hands, cupping his face gently as you pulled him down, giving his cheek a sweet kiss, he smiled in return. "No matter how sexy they are, I'll always cheer you on... Unless it's Ohma Tokita because that man is something else, if we had never worked out, he'd be my third option." You said.

His little smile dropped and he gently pushed your hands off. "I'm done." He said, you laughed at him as he left the room, the door closing behind him slowly. You stood there chuckling to yourself a little longer before you sighed. The door opened again and Kaolan poked his head inside. "Who would be your second option anyway?" He asked. You shrug your shoulders as you simply said. "Saw Paing." He stared at you a little longer before he rolled his eyes. "Of course it would be, come on, I'm about to get called up." He said, as he grabbed your wrist gently pulling you from the room.

You chuckled in your seat, thinking of your interaction in the changing room. Your soul, however, nearly jumped out of your body when Saw Paing suddenly screamed. "GIVE HIM WHAT HE WANTS!!!! GAOOOLAAAANNN!!" He shouted, you placed your hand over your heart as you took a deep breath. 'Scratch that, Saw Paing is now revoked from being the second option to now being the third option.' You thought.

Maryam Khatoon Molkara (also known as Maryam Khatoonpour Molkara) was a campaigner for trans rights in Iran, where she is widely recognized as a matriarch of the transgender community.She was later instrumental in obtaining a letter which acted as a Fatwa enabling sex reassignment surgery to exist as part of a legal framework.

Early life

Maryam Khatoon Molkara was born in 1950, she was the only child of her father's second of eight wives.Her father was a landowner. Maryam says she always preferred clothes, toys, & activities that were traditionally for girls.In her adolescence, Maryam went to parties dressed as a woman.She was often tortured & bullied for her feminine behavior. When she came out to her mother,her mother refused to accept Maryam's gender identity.This made her decide to take feminizing hormone, instead of immediately seeking out a gender affirming surgery.

Legal Recognition of Gender Identity in Iran

In 1975, Molkara traveled to London where she “learned about transsexuality & realized that she was not a passive homosexual. Molkara started to write letters to Shia Cleric Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, then in exile in Iraq, asking for religious advice about being assigned the wrong gender at birth.In one of these letters, she said that her gender identity had been clear since she was two years old, as she used to apply chalk to her face to imitate putting on make-up. Khomeini had already written in 1963 that corrective surgeries for intersex people are not against Islamic law, & his answer was based on this existing idea rather than developing a new fatwa for transgender people.He suggested she live as a woman, which included dressing as one.

After this, she met with Farah Pahlavi, who gave her support towards Molkara and other transgender individuals wanting sex reassignment surgery.In 1978, she traveled to Paris, where Khomeini was then based, to try to make him aware about transgender rights.After the Islamic Revolution, Molkara started to face intense backlash due to her gender identity. She underwent arrests, and death threats. She was fired from her job at the Iranian National Radio and Television, forced to wear masculine clothing,injected with male hormones against her will, & detained in a psychiatric institution. Eventually she was released from jail because of her good contacts with religious leaders, such as Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani.

Molkara continued to campaign for her right to get gender-affirming surgery. In 1985, she confronted Khomeini in his home in North Tehran.She wore a man's suit, carried the Quran, and she tied shoes around her neck. This was a reference to the Ashura festival, and also indicated that she was looking for refuge.Maryam Khatoon Molkara was held back and beaten by homophobic security guards until Khomeini's brother Hassan Pasandide intervened.He took Molkara into his house, where she pleaded her case, yelling "I'm a woman, I'm a woman!" His security guards were suspicious about her chest, as they thought she could be carrying explosives.She revealed they were her breasts, as she developed them using hormone therapy.After listening her story, Ahmad Khomeini was touched & took Maryam to speak to his father, where he asked 3 of his doctors about the surgery in an attempt to make a well-informed decision.Khomeini then decided to permit sex reassignment surgery by issuing a fatwa.She left Khomeini’s house victoriously. She had a letter in her hand addressed to the Chief Prosecutor & the head of Medical Ethics giving a fatwa (a religious authorization) for her & for all those like her to have their gender surgically reassigned. That one daring step by Maryam changed the dynamics and made history in Shia Islam.

Maryam lobbied for the according medical knowledge & procedures to be implemented in Iran, and worked on helping other trans people have access to gender-affirmative surgeries.

However, Maryam completed her gender affirming surgery from Thailand in 1997, due to "unhappiness with procedures in her native country''.The Iranian govt paid for her surgery, and she was able to help establish government funding for many other trans individual's surgeries.

Happy Winterlights!

A couple of weeks ago Tish visited me to tell me about Winterlights. It's the first time she's visiting me since she became my shepp, so I figured it was important. She told me about the winter festival of Winterlights, when Majiri light candles with those they care about and it's to hope for a fresh, green spring because this is the darkest time of the year, when the sun rises so late and sets really early. She said it's symbolic of new beginnings, and warmth, and that it evolved into celebrating with food and drink. Jina also told me about the ancient human tradition of decorating evergreen trees and hanging up decorations and stockings. Tish gave me a candle to light with all the people around the village, and I ran around doing that, and it was grand fun to share that with everyone and listen to all their hopes and wishes for the coming year. I lit a candle with Jon as well, and he said his hope was to find an enormous palium node and mine it all by himself. I think I gave him my best glare. My hope is - just to get some more answers, I guess. Answers about everything, but mostly who I am and whose I am. There must be someone out there who loves me. There must be. I must be someone's baby. I can't just appear in the world and have nowhere to come from. All things are born. We don't just materialise from some void. My parents are out there somewhere.

Here's a picture of my tree. I put presents at the bottom for my friends. Jon's present is there too. Funnily enough it's NOT palium. I'm not getting Hassian anything for Winterlights because he is incredibly mean and if he wants presents he needs to learn to be nicer to people. A few weeks ago, in a rare moment of niceness, he told me he had been watching me hunt and that I was almost as good as he was. It made me feel good, and like he really meant it, because he never just tells you things willy nilly. Then yesterday, when I was in the woods near the gate to Bahari, he thought it was really important to tell me that I needed to get a handle on my bow. WHAT? I glared at him and he smirked at me until I lost my temper and shot an arrow right over his head. He was definitely startled and he walked away but I was fuming so badly. So no. He doesn't get a present. Sorry not sorry. This behaviour is not okay. The only good thing about Hassian is Tau, as I've noted before. Here's a picture of me with him. He's the best.

It's snowing. A LOT. I have no memories of snow - well, of anything much, really, beyond vague feelings of recollection or a sensation that there's something missing - so this is sort of like my first time seeing snow, I guess? After the first night I went out and jumped around in the snow for a while. It's soft but it's crunchy. And it's wet but it's powdery. Snow is a contradiction. Maybe it's Hassian's spirit weather.

Jon thinks the best thing about snow is making snowballs to pelt me with. I was startled at first! Snow hurts when it's packed together like that and thrown at the back of your head. But! I made a stack of snowballs and got him right back. Several times.

Here's a picture of me on my front porch. You can see a bit of snow in the background. When I took this picture most of it had melted! But then it snowed again that night. I've decided I like snow best when it's fresh. It becomes a slushy sludgy mess eventually, and that's awful.

I'm about to put this journal down and head into town. I'm having lunch with Ashura in the inn and a bunch of us have been invited, including Jon. Since it's our first Winterlights, he's hosting us all, and I'm looking forward to it. Reth has promised 'a big feast', and he told me there are going to be a lot of vegetarian and fish dishes that aren't soup. I'm not sure if we're supposed to take anything but I'm taking a blueberry pie.

Was thinking about the holes connecting to Wano’s underground left by Law’s attack against Linlin and Luffy’s against Kaido, and that they could be seen as physical manifestations of Kin’emon’s words that the light of Wano’s dawn will reach all the way to the afterlife.

I like to think that means that Yasu, Ashura, Izo, Oden, Toki and all of the daimyo got to see it, and at a future Fire Festival messages could be written on the balloons and set to them from everyone. Still curious why Toki wasn’t mentioned by Kin when he was visiting Ringo, is it part of Wano’s culture that only samurai are honored in Ringo?

For Kaido then, the light of Wano’s dawn is mocking him, his body having been used to allow the light of Wano’s dawn to shine into the underground chamber though he never will see it. The wound he received from Kiku’s blade mocks him as well. The physical scars that Oden and Zoro left on Kaido disappeared with his physical death, though the pierce wound on his hand from Kiku’s blade will torment his soul for all eternity.

One Piece Chapter 1052 - Initial Thoughts

Okay then

What was first meant to be just the wrapping up of Wano has now turned into the wrapping up of the penultimate saga of One Piece, and the last few chapters before the Month Hiatus

There's still the possibility that Oda leaves us on a cliffhanger though, so let's see what these last chapters have to offer

We start the chapter with the reaction of the Gorosei

I'm still unsure what they mean by 'fallen', I don't expect BM or Kaido to be dead but at the same time the longer it's left the more it feels like they are

Zunesha has left too, confirming to them that Wano's borders won't open, meaning that they can't invade (though I wonder about the waterfall's stability still)

They still want Robin though, I don't think mask face has the heart to tell them

Back in Onigashima and Drake and Hawkins are alive!

Zoro though remembers his promise to Sanji, and decides to take liberties with it by attacking him

The Onsen scene was perhaps not for me, I get it's a win for Yamato to be in the men's bath and Kiku to be in the women's bath but also if Brook and Sanji are perving at Yamato during all this it's kinda missing the point

Oh to be young and be allowed to get away with getting to second base due to 'innocence'

It was a fine chapter, one designed to lure you into a false sense of security. But I do worry that a lot of things are gonna be left unanswered

It's been a full week now in Wano so I kinda expect that if BM and Kaido were dead that their subordinates would be in full panic, BM's crew is a big question mark after all in this saga.

We have no clue about Kaido's Poneglyph either, or Wano's use of Sea Prism Stone in general, or really any of the early stuff with Hitetsu and the Nidai Kitetsu. While we're on swords as well we may not see Zoro pay his respects to Ryuma or have any genetics towards Wano as it was theorised and even hinted by Oda to have, and we do need to know about his excursion to hell too.

Between all of this, Luffy and co having a rager, the Admiral, leaving Wano (with Robin still with them hopefully) and finding out about what happened in the outside, I fear Oda won't be able to cover all of that.

This being said, the chapter itself had a lot of fun parts, I'm still not sold on the onsen scene nor am I 100% sold that Yamato is Nakama until Luffy says so (he still calls him Yama-o), I will also continue to hold on hope for Carrot since she was in the background for this chapter and Zunesha has already left, but then again the minks did have ships too so it's still very much a clutch at straws. As I noted before, I hope Hawkins survives, and even sticks with Drake, SWORD could use his talents too after all. And I expect Kid to feel slighted by the new bounty figures, perhaps enough to even attempt full villainy. I worry about Law though, the end of the saga means the end of his and Luffy's alliance, what will the Surgeon of Death do now?

I can see the Admiral's presence going one of two ways; either he causes a scene or he simply chills at the party. It's also quite possible that he's not the one who contacted CP0, since the navy only learned of CP0's presence in Wano through Drake, I half expect another force to be coming: SSG, Sentomaru or Lucci perhaps? It was theorised by many that Green Bull had a plant DF so that seems confirmed, I wonder if that may fall into Usopp's wheelhouse with his Pop Greens or to his detriment? But I do hope he's just pretty chill and ends up joining in on the food, while also dropping the bomb about what happened at the Reverie, but it's tough to tell.

One more chapter until the long wait.

The Bidda of fasting on the 10th of Muharram !

The Fast of Ashura: Cheers as the Prophet SAWW Sheds Tears?

The tenth day of Muharram is the Day of Ashura, the Day of the Tragedy of Karbala, the Day that The Prophet SAWW prophesied in his lifetime.

He also wept on account of the tragedy of this day for Imam Husayn AS who was the victim of brutality of a Muslim usurping caliph, succeeding his usurping father who was appointed a governor of Muslims by a caliph despite the fact that The Prophet SAWW had cursed him and his father, Abu Sufyan.

So, in the court of the bloodthirsty, illegitimate son and ruler Yazid ibni Mu’awiyah ibni Abi Sufyan, on this day there was rejoicing while in The Prophet SAWW’s house there was weeping and suffering. To rejoice and celebrate on the day of Ashuraa and fast is not The Prophet SAWW’s way; it certainly is his enemies’ way.

Traditions to the effect that the Prophet S.A.W.W on migrating to Medina found the Jews fasting on the 10th of Muharram are found in the so-called authentic books of ahadith, namely, al-Sahih of al-Bukhari, Vol.3; Egypt ed.; p.54, Mishkatul-Masabih; Delhi ed.; 1307 A.H.; p. l72. Upon inquiring the reason, The Prophet SAWW heard :

"It is an auspicious day; it is the day when God delivered the children of Israel from their enemy (i.e. Pharaoh), and, therefore, Moses fasted on that day."

The Prophet S.A.W.W. purportedly said, "I am worthier of Moses than you are." Thereupon, he fasted on that day and ordered (the Muslims) to fast.

Mishkatul-Masabih says

"it was in the second year, because in the first year The Prophet SAWW had arrived at Medina after Ashura, in Rabi'ul-Awwal. Another tradition in al-Bukhari says The Prophet S.A.WW. ordered a man from the (tribe of) Aslam to announce to the people who had eaten to fast the rest of the day, and whoever had not eaten to fast (the whole day), “because today is the Ashura (10th day of Muharram)." That very year the fast of Ramadan (2AH) was ordained and the fast on Ashura was abrogated, another tradition claims.Reportedly, it still carries much importance as a voluntary fast. How can an abrogated fast carry any rewards anyway?

These traditions cited in the so-called authentic books are obvious fabrications.

1. The Jews had their own calendar and months. There is no truth in saying that they fasted on the 10th of Muharram, unless it is proven that this date always coincided with the Jewish day of fasting.

2. The first month of the Jews, called Abib (later named Nisan) coincided with Rajab of the Arabs. W.O.E.Oesterley and Theodore H.Robinson have written that in Arabia "the most important of all the new-moon festivals was that which fell in the month of Ragab (sic), equivalent to the Hebrew month 'Abib, for this was the time when the ancient Arabs celebrated the Spring festival

."Probably, in ancient times the two branches of Abraham's house followed the same system of intercalating an additional month 7 times in a cycle of 19 years. In this way the 7th Jewish month, Tishri I, coincided with Muharram and Ashura of Muharram synchronized with 10th of Tishri I, the Jewish Day of Atonement - a day of fast.

3. However, the two calendars lost their synchronization when Islam, in the 9th year of Hijra, disallowed intercalation.

4. In fact, that parity was lost long before the advent of Islam, because the Arabs did not follow any mathematical calculation in their intercalation. That was why the Muharram of the 2nd year of Hijra began on 5th July, 623 C.E. (Al-Munjid, 21st ed.), months before Tishri I .Clearly, then, Ashura in that year or, for that matter, during the Prophet's whole life at Medina, had no significance whatsoever for the Jews.

5. Why did they fast on that day?

The Jewish Midrashic literature relates the 10th day of the 7th month (Yom Hakippurim - Day of Atonement) to the event of bringing the tablets of the Covenant from Mount Sinai, as Dr. Mishael Maswari-Caspi has written.

6. If the Jews had wanted to keep the long-lost synchronization of Tishri I and Muharram in view, how was it that they forgot to narrate this tradition to the Prophet S.A.W.W.?

7. The month in which God delivered the Israelites from Pharaoh was Abib (i.e. Rajab), as the Bible clearly says: "Observe the month of Abib, and keep the Passover unto the Lord thy God: for in the month of Abib the Lord thy God brought thee forth out of Egypt by night." (Deut., 16:1)

8. How could the Jews transfer an event of Abib (originally coinciding with Rajab) to Muharram, in open defiance of their Torah?

9. The Prophet S.A.W.W. was sent with a religion to abrogate all previous religions and shari'ah. How was it that he deigned imitate the Jews? It is clear that the Jews had no reason at all to fast on 'Ashura of Muharram at that period; and this story, built on that premise, is just a fiction. Obviously, it was invented by a narrator who only knew that once upon a time Muharram coincided with Jewish Tishri I, but was unaware of contemporary Jewish religion and culture.

This and other such traditions were forged by the followers of the Umayyads, after the martyrdom of Imam HusaynAS, as a part of their campaign to turn the 10th of Muharram into a day of rejoicing. Bukhari, who quoted narrations from every Zaid, Bakr, Amr, Jewish and Christian narrators, left out ahadith from the purified Progeny of The Prophet SAWW. How can it be an authentic book really?

These traditions are of the same genre as those which say that it was on the 10th of Muharram that Noah's ark rested on Mount Ararat, the fire became cool and safe for Abraham, and Jesus ascended to the heavens. In the same category came the traditions exhorting the Muslims to treat Ashura as a festival of joy, and to store grain on this day to increase one's sustenance and bring the blessings of Allah to the house.

The calamities of Ashura were foretold by The Prophet SAWW himself and he wept for his grandson Imam HusaynAS during his own lifetime. To make this a joyous occasion and fast is insulting The Prophet SAWW for it is a total lie and a fabrication. Ashura not only saddened and sorrowed The Prophet SAWW but also prophets of yore. Adam, Nuh, Ibrahim, Musa, Isa and others wept when they heard what would befall Imam Husayn AS. Imam Husayn AS strove to uphold the message that these prophets AS came to deliver and he is indeed the heir to Adam Safwatillah, Nuhin Nabiyillah , Ibrahima Khalilillah, Musa Kalimillah and Isa Ruhillah AS. He set out to cleanse Islam of the corruption that Yezid and his predecessors had brought to Islam.

Had Imam HusaynAS not opposed Yezid openly, Islam that Prophet Muhammad SAWW brought would have vanished forever. It was in the nature of terrorist Yezid and his kind to use violence to force everyone to accept eheir way, as do the so-called today’s terrorists who are self-proclaimed custodians of Islam. They are but usurpers who betrayed The Prophet SAWW and caused Islam humiliation, hostility and negativity.

It is the message of Imam Husayn AS delivered with his innocent blood shed on the sandy plains of Kabala that instills hope of salvation in the Hereafter and happiness and security in this world. Indeed, it was the Imam AS’ son who had witnessed the massacre, who gave refuge to one of his father’s murderers because that is the way of The Ahlul BaytAS. The Umayyads and the Abassids believed in killing their opponents because they feared losing power, prestige and ill-gotten wealth, while The Ahlul Bayt AS saved the lives of even the killers of their families. History has recorded Imam Ali Al-SajjadAS’ compassion even for his own brother’s killer because Al-Sajjad was the one of the true twelve successors of The Prophet SAWW, “Rahmatan Lil Aalamiin.”.

So, those who are bent upon considering the day of Ashura an occasion of joy are stabbing The Prophet SAWW in the back and Bukhari et. al. who have carried such traditions will answer for their lies on The Day of Judgment.

What will Bukhari say to The Prophet SAWW when The Prophet SAWW asks him the about the number of Muslims he misguided? ?

And those that are hurling accusations of Shi’a being the product of Abdullah ibn Sabah the Jew’s machinations should examine their own Sahah and see how many Jewish forgeries are there in these so-called authentic works?

Who was Abu Hurayra?

Who was K’ab Al-Ahbar? The filth against The Prophet SAWW being churned out by teleterrorists, the Rushdies and other bigots are based on such narrations found in Bukahri et. al.

Let Ashura be the eye-opener for Muslims so that they can see the truth from falsehood, the real message of The Prophet SAWW transmitted by The Ahlul Bayt AS from the forgeries, fabrications and falsity of usurpers, murderers, plunderers and hate-mongers.

When the real message of Islam of Ashura is conveyed, the Muslims instead of cowering will tell the world that falsehood purveyed in the name of love is but satanic illusion that pulls wool over the eyes of the unsuspecting masses. After all, Mu’awiyah, an inveterate Umayyad enemy of The Prophet SAWW and Islam, used the same type ofruse of The Qur’an to fool Muslims at Siffin against the legitimate caliph Imam Ali AS. In a different guise, other enemies of Islam misuse The Qur’an to plant doubts in the minds of unsuspecting masses. It was Imam Husayn AS who on the day of Ashura on the hot sands of the desert of Karbala practiced the truth of Islam and showed that until the last possible moment any armed conflict is to be avoided and fighting is in self-defense only. Indeed, Imam Husayn AS purchased the very land on which he was slaughtered and buried. The terrorists, the usurpers, hijacked somebody else’s land because they followed their tradition of the enmity to The Prophet SAWWand his Ahlul Bayt AS.

No wonderImam Husayn AS has been granted three privileges by Allah SWT:

1. Supplications under the dome of his shrine in Kabala are accepted

2. there is shifa’a (cure) in the earth from his grave and

3. the Aimmah AS would descend from him. The tyrant Yezid wept when he saw the severed head of Imam Husayn. At nights he could not sleep for the guiltand would hit his head against the wall and cry out:“Ma lee walil Husayn” (What have I done with Husayn) and would imbibe alcohol to fall into stupor. The drunken Amirul Muminiin!!So, when the followers of Yezid call him Amirul Mumineen, they are, in fact, declaring their animosity to The Prophet SAWW and rejoicing on the day when The Prophet SAWW himself wept. And then they expect The Prophet SAWW to succor them on The Day of Judgment. Nay, they shall come with Yezid who like Shaitan will tell his followers to blame themselves for the consequences of their deviation from The Prophet SAWW’s instructions of “Qul la As.alukum Alayhi ajran illal Mawaddata fil Qurbaa” ,Tell them that I ask not from you for any recompense save adherence to my Progeny that, inter alia, includes Imam Husayn AS whom the Shi’a have been mourning on

The Day of Ashura with fresh vigor every year for 1400 years and will continue in the same vein to the end of life.

So, the choice is between the cheers of satanic forces or tears for The Prophet SAWW and his Ahlul Bayt AS on the Day of Ashura. A Muslim worthy of his name has no recourse but to follow the way of The Prophet SAWW and spend the day of Ashura in the worship of Allah SWT, mourning for Imam Husayn AS and condoling The Prophet SAWW with tears and lamentations. In a famous hadith The Prophet SAWW said: “Husayn is from me and I am from Husayn”. To weep for Imam Husayn AS is to mourn for The Prophet SAWW also. To do the contrary is not a Muslim’s wont.

It is the observance of Ashura as a day of mourning that separates Muslims from terrorists because on that Monday, 10th Muharram 61 Hijra on the sandy plains of Karbala the terrorists followers of Yazid ibni Mu’awiyah ibni Abi Sufyan, killed, looted and imprisoned the kith and kin of The Prophet SAWW and at the end of the carnage celebrated and rejoiced.

On the twenty fifth of this month in AH 95, the terrorist Umayyad caliph poisoned and killed one of the survivors of the Karbala massacre, Imam Ali ibnil Husayn Al-Sajjad AS. Terrorism was perpetrated at Karbala to the Shi’a and continues to this day everywhere there are enemies of The Prophet SAWW. These enemies are wolves in sheep’s clothing.

Is there a kind of worshipping peculiar to the Arafah of (the day before) Eid al-Fitr?

Arafah is the day one day before eid al-adha, the 9th day of the month of Dhul-hijjah of the Hijri calendar. No other day can be called Arafah. However, the day before eid al-fitr is also called Arafah in some Islamic countries.

The Messenger of Allah (pbuh) states the following :

"The most virtuous day among the days is the day of Arafah. It is like Friday in terms of virtue. It is more virtuous than seventy hajjs except the one performed on Friday. The most virtuous prayer (dua) is the one said on the day of Arafah. The most virtuous sentence uttered by me and the prophets before me is (Lailaha illallah wahdahu la sharika lahu. (There is no god but Allah; He is one; He has no partners.)" (Muwatta, Hajj, 246)

Hazreti Aisha narrates:

"There is no day when Allah sets free more servants from Hell than the day of Arafah. He draws near His slaves and praises them to the angels, saying: 'What do these want?'" (Muslim, Hajj, 436)

The Messenger of Allah (pbuh) said,

"Show respect to the day of Arafah. Arafah is a day that Allah appreciates."

Thus, the Prophet (pbuh) wanted us to show respect to the day that Allah appreciates and to try to live consciously. Respect starts by realizing the boon that is granted and being able to know and see. To spend the day of Arafah by performing fasting, saying prayers, asking for forgiveness without committing sins is an expression of respect and gratitude to Allah, who gave the glad tiding that He would forgive His slaves. The following conversation between Hz. Umar and a Jew shows the importance of the day of Arafah:

During the caliphate of Hz. Umar, a Jew said to him,

"O Umar! You read a verse; if it had been sent down to us, we would have celebrated that day as an eid (festival)."

It was the third verse of the chapter of al-Maida. Allah Almighty stated the following:

"This day have I perfected your religion for you, completed my favor upon you."

That verse was sent down in the tenth year of the Migration during the Farewell Hajj on Friday, which was the day of Arafah, in the afternoon when the Prophet (pbuh) was on his camel called "Adba". The camel slumped down due to the heaviness of the revelation.

When Hz. Umar heard the verse from the Jew, he said,

"We know that day and the place where that verse was sent down. It was on Friday and Arafah." Thus, Hz. Umar mentioned the importance of Arafah by stating that it was eid for us.

The day of Arafah is the day when Hz. Adam and Hawwa (Eve) met.

Tawriyah is one day before Arafah.

The Prophet (pbuh) stated the following:

"A Muslim who performs fasting on the day of Tawriyah and does not utter any sinful words enters Paradise."

The fasting performed on that day is equal to supererogatory fasting of one thousand days. Besides, it causes the repentance of the previous year and the next year to be accepted. One gets a lot of rewards when he fasts on the day of Arafah. The Messenger of Allah (pbuh) stated the following:

"A reward of twice the number of the people that lived beginning from Hz. Adam and that will live up to the Day of Judgment will be given to a person who performs fasting on the day of Arafah."

"The fasting performed on the day of Arafah is equal to supererogatory fasting of one thousand days."

"The fasting on the day of Ashura is equal to supererogatory fasting of one year and on the day of Arafah two years."

The fasting performed on the day of Arafah is equal to freeing two thousand slaves, sacrificing two thousand camels and giving two thousand horses in the way of Allah for jihad."

"The fasting performed on the day of Arafah will be atonement for the sins of the previous year and the next year."

It is recommended to read the chapter of al-Ikhlas one thousand times by some great personalities. It is stated in hadiths that reading the chapter of al-Ikhlas will be a means of forgiveness for the sins except individual rights.

"The sins of a person who reads al-Ikhlas one thousand times with Basmala are forgiven and his prayer is accepted."

The Prophet (pbuh) prayed to Allah on the night of Arafah to forgive his ummah. His prayer was answered as follows: 'I have forgiven them, except for the wrongdoer, with whom I will settle the score in favor of the one whom he wronged.' The Messenger of Allah said,

'O Lord, if You wish, You will grant Paradise to the one who is wronged, and forgive the wrongdoer.' No response came from Allah in Arafat to this prayer. The next day at Muzdalifah, he repeated the same prayer. This time, his prayer was accepted. The Messenger of Allah (pbuh) laughed, showing his joy. Thereupon, Hz. Abu Bakr and Umar said to him,

‘May my father and mother be sacrificed for you! This is not a time when you usually laugh. What made you laugh?’ The Messenger of Allah (pbuh) said,

‘When the enemy of Allah, Iblis, came to know that Allah answered my prayer and forgave my nation, he took some dust and started to sprinkle it on his head, crying 'Woe on you! You have been destroyed!' This cry of Satan's, which I saw, made me laugh.'

It is necessary to show respect to the day of Arafah; we should join the prayers of hajjis who are on Arafat on that day by feeling that we are with them spiritually. We should avoid anything that can cause us to commit a sin on that day. Nowadays, the day of Arafah is experienced as a very busy day with worldly affairs since it is one day before eid. In fact, Arafah is one of the most important time periods given to man. These days are days of worshipping and forgiveness. It is the most valuable time period when hajjis come together in Arafat regardless of their languages, races and skin colors reminding of the Day of Gathering by saying, "Labbayk (Here I am at your service)" and when servitude is presented to Allah by supplications and talbiyahs. The Messenger of Allah (pbuh) states the following:

"The most virtuous prayer is the one said on the day of Arafah." (Bayhaqi)

"Allah looks at His slaves on the day of Arafah and forgives anyone who has even a very little amount of belief."

Allah informed the Prophet (pbuh) that prayers are not rejected on some nights. The four holy nights when the doors of mercy are opened are as follows:

1. The night of (before) eid al-fitr,

2. The night of (before) eid al-adha,

3. The night of Tarwiyah (8th night of Dhul-hijjah),

4. The night of Arafah. (Isfahani)

It is very virtuous to spend the day and night of Arafah worshipping. There are narrations stating that a person who spends the night of Arafah worshipping will be saved from Hell. It was stated by the Messenger of Allah (pbuh) that a person who avoids sins on the day of Arafah will be forgiven.

"On the day of Arafah, a young man who was near the Messenger of Allah (pbuh) was thinking about women and looking at the women. The Messenger of Allah (pbuh) turned the man's face away from the women a few times. The young man started to think about them again. The Messenger of Allah (pbuh) said,

"My brother's son! Today is such a day that anyone who controls his ears, eyes and tongue is forgiven." (Musnad)

The following are advised to do on the day of Arafah:

1. It is necessary to start uttering takbirs of tashrik after the fard of the morning prayer.

2. One should perform fasting on the day of Arafah.

3. One should show respect to the day of Arafah and try not to commit sins.

4. One should pray to Allah and ask for forgiveness a lot on the day of Arafah.

5. One should read the chapter of al-Ikhlas 1000 times on the day of Arafah.
