Hi, its name is Calibri, formerly K'zathon.

It's a vicious mockery of what it means to defy the Slenderman, or in our universe, The Web.

K'zathon ended up getting killed at the fault of another proxy, whom he was created to work alongside as a companion fieldworker. The Web recycled the husk of this formidable and skilled entity and spat it back out from the void as this horrific, rake-like creature, forced to possess innocent people as a means to survive in our plane of existence.

K'zathon was physically and mentally torn apart and put back together atom-by-atom. In order to escape the torment of this, he sank far into the reaches of his psyche, forming Calibri, who took on the brunt of it all. Every slice. Every tear.

Of course, Calibri went batshit. Whatever humanity K'zathon masked over his true nature was now just entirely inhuman. This creature only feels inexplicable and explosive anger, hunger, and pain that radiates down to its very core, as it wasn't exactly put back together properly. Is it the remains of a mask? Is it bone? Petrified flesh?

The hunger gets so bad that sometimes it will attempt to eat glass, trash, and inanimate objects. Other proxies have the incentive of keeping it fed or at a distance, lest it attempt to devour them as well.

I noticed recently the default font in Microsoft Office has changed to Aptos from Calibri. I decided to do a test and they seem to look pretty much the same in terms of design, but Aptos takes up more space. Either the person who developed it's eyes are going, or they want you to be able to do less when you get a "Write 3 pages" assignment.

I even found an article that Microsoft put out about the process of developing five new fonts and picking the best one for the new default. IDK why I am even sharing this. It is something that distracted me when preparing for my exams so now you have to hear about it too.

RIP Calibri, you served us well from the death of Times New Roman in the late 2000s to now.

I love seeing people pissed off that Microsoft finally switched from Calibri to Aptos as the default font, because it truly proves that people will be mad about anything.

Like if you tell me you love calibri. You're a liar. If you're telling me you had an OPINION on calibri at all, you're a liar. You're lying if you say you have even THOUGHT about calibri ONCE in the past 6 months.

I'm a graphic designer. My job every day is fonts and I haven't thought about calibri for MONTHS.

nice to have you back! Question, what exactly are the relationships the sisters have with their brothers?

All the sisters have a pretty good/decent relationship with their bros. Cambria likes to give advice to Trajan when he’s having trouble with stuff and generally looks out for him. Although Lydian can be pretty laidback and fun, she will get strict with Calibri when necessary almost acting like a mom in a way. And since Joanna is filled with anxiety and is constantly stressing out, Impact always tries his best to cheer her up and it almost always works, though Joanna always feels bad for having her brother help her out. Some of them might argue at times but it’s never too bad and the situation usually gets resolved pretty quickly.

✧Here’s some of mod Scorpii’s headcanons for Calibri while I work on his designs.✧

✧I think Calibri would be a total deadhead!! He’s really into psychedelic rock and has a Grateful Dead hoodie he wears everywhere.

✧He definitely flunked high school really bad. He’d show up to class absolutely zooted at 7 A.M. and just coast through the day on nothing but vibes and the edible in his pocket. Papyrus made him at least get his GED afterwards.

✧He totally models his guitar playing after Jimi Hendrix, and Napstaton samples his riffs for his music.

✧That being said!! Calibri definitely has access to Napstaton’s official social media and posts the worst things imaginable on his professional account. It’s always like low res images of Goku with captions like “shidded” and then nothing else.

✧Calibri is the chill homie harboring an unfathomable amount of sadness.

✧Like, his inferiority complex has only gotten worse with age (He’d be about 19-21 in our future au) To be honest, he’s a total basket case that really wants to change, but is too scared to put in the effort.

✧He brings a “we should all quit” vibe to the work place that managers don’t really like.

✧Expanding on that; he’s been fired from pretty much every single job he’s had until Napstaton gave him a job at his record store/radio station.

✧He previously worked at a movie theater and helped kids sneak in to shows through the back, but eventually got caught.

✧Calibri can give you solid music recommendations based on your vibes alone and he’s got a 99% success rate.

✧He asked Trajan to be his trip sitter one time, but as soon as the shrooms hit he got terrified of Trajan’s four eyes and locked himself in the laundry room.

✧He and Hapstablook love to cook together!! He also cooks with Sans too, but it can get to be a really exhausting couple of hours trying to wrangle him into actually cooking the taco meat. So Calibri really values his time with Hapstablook cause it’s usually just a very sweet and calming experience.

✧The bandana in my new design for him is from his uncle Sans 🫶 he has like, a million and wanted Calibri to match with him.

✧He’d rather die than cut his hair.

✧Calibri’s style now leans more into a hippie-punk kinda look, mainly cause he aligns himself with most of the ideals of both subcultures.

Here’s my sketch of his new design so far!! I’ll have a more confident piece for him, this is just a lazy slap-together.

He’s got on that stupid Grateful Dead hoodie and a battle vest full of patches of all his favorite artists.

Never ditched the chucks! He still rocks with his converse- and his fingerless gloves.

He doesn’t tie his hair up as often anymore, but he does dress it up with that bandana that I mentioned!

His tank top underneath has a Misfits logo on it 💪

And that’s a crazy ass monster boof from the Hot-Lands so who knows what’s actually in it.

Aptos is replacing Calibri after 15 years on the throne as Microsoft Office’s default font. It’s “bold, well-defined, directive, and constrained” (i.e. easier to read) and “embodies professionalism,” which its predecessor lacked.

If Calibri is a casual dot com era t-shirt, Aptos is a business casual, wrinkle-free, fitted button-up.

That’s 15 years of company after company using Calibri as its default body font within its brand guidelines. It‘s been a matter of convenience. Even if employees never read the brand guide, they’d be “on-brand” in their communications and quickly thrown-together sales pitches via Word and PowerPoint featuring masterful displays of clipart. But those days are over.

From 1993-2007, Times New Roman was Microsoft’s default, and it was reflected throughout brand collateral, but now, it’s the epitome of outdated.

How long until Calibri is thrown in the box of unused fonts and brands build their strategy around Aptos?

The reality is they’ve already started.
