Horror Movie Review: Swimfan (2002)
Swimfan, for all it does well, takes itself far too seriously and that is to its detriment.
Written by Charles Bohl, Phillip Schneider and directed by John Polson, Swimfan is a 2002 psychological horror/thriller that stars Jesse Bradford, Erika Christensen and Shiri Appleby.
Borrowing heavily from the likes of Play Misty for Me and Fatal Attraction, Swimfan sees high school student Ben Cronin (Jesse Bradford) make a mistake that will end up costing him more than he could have ever…

Ex-Sheriff Clarke did not violate man’s free speech: jury
Nation/World
01/23/2018, 07:33am
Former Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke did not violate a man’s free speech with taunting Facebook posts, a federal jury concluded.
Associated Press
MILWAUKEE — Former Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke did not violate a man’s free speech with taunting Facebook posts after detaining him at an airport last year for shaking his head at Clarke while boarding a flight, a federal jury has concluded.
In a civil lawsuit against Clarke, Daniel Black argued he received hateful messages and was fearful after Clarke called him a “snowflake” online and said Black “wouldn’t be around to whine” if the then-sheriff really wanted to harass him.
Clarke made the comment after Black complained to the county that the sheriff had his deputies detain and question him for 15 minutes after he got off the plane in Milwaukee.
Jurors deliberated nearly three hours before deciding Monday night that Clarke’s posts were not enough to chill Black’s future speech. Clarke resigned on Aug. 31 to join a political action committee that supports President Donald Trump.
Black said he shook his head at Clarke last January on the flight from Dallas to Milwaukee because Clarke was wearing Cowboys gear when they were playing the Green Bay Packers in the playoffs.
Black at one point became teary-eyed while testifying Monday, saying he would never file another complaint against an elected official because the incident left him so rattled. He said he sued last year because he needed “someone to say this is wrong.”
Although Black was not arrested or cited, his attorneys argued that Clarke’s actions — particularly his social media taunts — were retaliatory and threatening enough to silence criticism of the sheriff.
“I felt guilty, I felt scared, that I had a target on my back,” Black testified, recalling one post in particular on the sheriff’s official Facebook site.
Clarke wrote on Facebook: “Cheer up, snowflake … if Sheriff Clarke were to really harass you, you wouldn’t be around to whine about it.”
Black’s attorney, Anne Sulton, showed jurors an email from Clarke staffer Fran McLaughlin expressing concern about the post, telling the sheriff it was “perceived as a threat, and I don’t think it should be on our agency page.” Clarke responded by saying, “It stays.”
“That shows the malice,” Sulton said.
Clarke was not in court Monday. His attorneys said Black did television interviews after the encounter and didn’t appear scared.
“Far from being chilled, he was encouraged and he enjoyed it,” attorney Charles Bohl said during opening statements, describing the case as “an unfriendly internet spat between two people who apparently don’t like each other very much.”
In his closing arguments, Bohl told jurors that Black’s TV interviews and social media posts about the incident showed that Clarke’s comments did not stop Black from exercising his free speech rights “abundantly” and that “he got his 15 minutes of fame.”
Black wanted jurors to award him a compensation amount of their choosing for emotional distress and other damages, as well as attorneys’ fees.

Nuove foto e dettagli per lo spin-off di Kingsman, The King’s Man, arrivano in rete.

This slideshow requires JavaScript.
Viviamo in tempi folli oggi.
Farò il “The King’s Man Vaughn Cut”.
Nel cast Ralph Fiennes (Duca di Oxford), Harris Dickinson (Conrad), Aaron Taylor-Johnson (Lee Unwin), Tom Hollander (George V / Wilhelm II / Nicholas II), Rhys Ifans (Rasputin), Djimon Hounsou (Shola), Gemma Arterton (Polly), Charles Dance (Arthur), Daniel Brühl (Erik Jan Hanussen) e Stanley Tucci.

Jaeger-LeCoultre and MR PORTER are pleased to announce the launch of the Master Ultra Thin KINGSMAN Knife watch, a limited edition of 100 timepieces, specially adapted for The King’s Man, the upcoming Kingsman origins film directed by Matthew Vaughn. The Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Ultra Thin Kingsman Knife watch will be offered exclusively on MR PORTER, as a key part of The King’s Man ‘costume to collection’, from July 20th to September 6th. After that date, the watch will also be available directly from Jaeger-LeCoultre online and in selected boutiques.
The newest film in the Kingsman series links past and present, going back 100 years to the origins of the Kingsman agency. So too has Jaeger-LeCoultre drawn upon its great historic mastery of ultra thin calibres to develop a new timepiece directly inspired by the celebrated 1907 ‘Couteau’ (couteau is French for knife) pocket watch. The Master Ultra Thin Kingsman Knife watch is a refined dress watch that blends tradition and modernity in a manner perfectly suited to both The King’s Man and to contemporary style.

The aesthetic roots of the new watch are unmistakably those of Jaeger-LeCoultre’s traditional pocket watches: the very broad bezel slopes gently from the sapphire crystal to the edge of the case, creating a fine profile reminiscent of a knife blade and the winding crown, protected by its triangular bow, is placed at 12 o’clock. However, these timeless and traditional elements are brought right up to date with subtly modern details: simple index hour markers keep the dial refined and clean, while a finely drawn ring is repeated as a circular highlight on the bezel.
Presented in a classically elegant 40mm size, the pink gold case is just 4.25mm thick. The ultra thin case houses Jaeger-LeCoultre’s celebrated hand-wound calibre 849. At just 1.85 millimetres thick, the movement underlines La Grande Maison’s century-old mastery of this demanding form of Haute Horlogerie: ultra thin movements require a perfect ratio between thinness and solidity, to ensure that components retain sufficient strength to ensure reliable timekeeping.
Jaeger-LeCoultre’s hand-wound calibre 849
In tribute to the film’s narrative, the case-back of the Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Ultra Thin Kingsman Knife watch has been engraved with the Kingsman logo, as well as the legend “One of 100”, and is presented in a specially designed Kingsman sleeve box.
In an eloquent expression of the Kingsman maxim ‘Manners Maketh Man’, the Master Ultra Thin Knife is the perfect gentleman’s timepiece; not only functional but supremely elegant.
‘Our Manufacture is proud of its heritage which drives the creativity of our master watchmaking since 1833. We are delighted to partner with Matthew Vaughn and Mr Porter to unveil a unique timepiece celebrating the elegance pioneering spirit. The thinness of this watch, inspired from a pocket-watch with a knife shape from 1907 is illustrating the skills and creativity of our fully integrated Manufacture. It represents the spirit of times with timepieces passed from generation to generation’ – Ms Catherine Renier, CEO, Jaeger-LeCoultre
‘We at MR PORTER are thrilled to be working with Matthew Vaughn and the Jaeger-LeCoultre team to exclusively launch the limited-edition Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Ultra Thin Kingsman Knife, in advance of the global release of The King’s Man later this year. The watch has a strong heritage styling coupled with being limited to only 100 pieces and will sure to be received extremely well with our growing global watch community’ – Mr Sam Kershaw, Buying Director, MR PORTER
