I had a request for newer fics, so here you go! Also, some other recent fics were posted here.
They’re all together ooky, the Hale family… (Snap, Snap) by DropsOfAddiction | 12.4K | Explicit
Derek realises that he’s probably squashing Stiles a little bit, right at the same moment that Stiles apparently realises that he’s still holding onto Derek’s face.
They both definitely acknowledge Derek’s nakedness at the same exact time, judging by the alarmed look on Stiles’ face.
“So, you have no clothes on,” Stiles removes his hands and holds them above his head in surrender, cheeks a muddy red.
“In my defence, I was covered in fur less than two minutes ago,” Derek rolls his eyes and he pushes himself up and off him, hands covering his junk for Stiles’ sake.
“You’re still kind of furry now…” Stiles sits up, blinking rapidly, clearly just as weirded out as Derek. “Oh my god, pretend I didn’t say that. I’m not looking or anything.”
Derek smirks, because that… that was a lie and he cocks an eyebrow at him.
as dear as a brother by endversed | 10.3K | Explicit
“You are not allowed to sleep with him,” Scott says.
“You’re not the boss of me,” Stiles scoffs.
Stiles and Scott become best friends at college. Derek is Scott's hot older brother.
Take Me Away From Here by Hedwig221b | 33.5K | Explicit
Derek Hale looked terrifying. With his broad frame and muscles, with his wild black hair and thick beard, with his eyes the color of blood and fangs of a killer. Despite his kindness and his apparent attraction to Stiles, he was still a stranger, a predator, a wolf.
The thing is, Stiles would deal, but others might not. People found Lord Hale horrid, monstrous and unapproachable.
If Stiles stood behind him, no one would touch him.
He’d be safe with the wolf. If not from him, then definitely from everyone else. And that was enough.
Messily Ever After by KaliopeShipsIt | 20.3K
When Stiles and his blue slushie have a literal and quite splashy run-in with an adorable five-year old flower girl and her panicking daddy in the middle of the mall, the last thing he expects is to get a date to a stranger's wedding out of it.
Let alone, a boyfriend and a kid.
His Accidental Touch by Hidden_Orchard | 12.8K | Explicit
It happened accidentally, the first time. All the many and varied times afterwards, Stiles would hold his hands up and admit full responsibility for. But that first time – pure chance.
Derek needs a cuddle. Stiles - generous man that he is - would never deny Derek something he needs.
An Alpha's Misunderstandings by Dexterous_Sinistrous | 48.5K | Mature
And Derek was there, as if it was a simple twist of fate.
There were so many ways Stiles wanted to forgive Derek, but then he came to his senses.
He wouldn’t risk Charlotte’s safety for that hope–never again. ~*~ Stiles and Derek are parted by war and misunderstandings, only to find each other again.
Red, Red, Red by loserchildhotpants | 9.4K | Explicit
“Just… it’s weird, I’ve been - uh. You ever, like, dream of something? Something you’ve never seen before, but then you see it out in the world?”
everywhere, everything (every day) by nerdy-stilinski (Captain_Ameriyeah), S3anchaidh | 14.3K
Derek’s never been the best at making decisions. That’s how he keeps waking up with Stiles in his arms, but never under the right circumstances.
Or: Derek agrees to a pack vacation and instantly regrets it.
Matchmaking in Fandom by isthatbloodonhisshirt (wasterella) | 13K
It wasn’t like it was a secret that the showrunners made terrible decisions when it came to their own show, so why he’d had actual faith in them not fucking the movie up, he had no idea. Really, it was his own fault.
He hadn’t even set the bar high for the movie! The bar was so incredibly low, like mid-shin height, and they somehow managed to get it subterranean. That was talent. A bad talent, but still a talent.
if i'm not made for you, then why does my heart tell me that i am? by EvanesDust | 13K
When Derek’s kids write out their Christmas lists, they insist he writes one too. Not long after it's deposited in Santa's mailbox, he's reunited with the man of his dreams.
Stiles.
Derek can't help but fall for him again. It's really too bad Stiles is so obviously taken.
...or the one where Derek’s a grump who makes assumptions about his pregnant omega neighbor.

“Peter?” Stiles said, too shocked to keep it out of his voice, “Why are you calling?”
Peter sighed on the other end, genuine in a way Peter rarely was. “I thought you would want to know.”
“Know what?”
“About Derek.”
“Peter, I’m too old for your cryptic shit. Either spit it out or I’m hanging up.”
“Stiles,” Peter said, his voice shaky, somehow, “Derek is dead.”
Stiles had a phone in his hand, a shattered mug, a puddle of coffee and what might be a first degree burn on his foot.
“Stiles? Are you still there?” Peter’s voice sounded fuzzy when his phone wasn’t pressed against his ear. Without response, he hit end call.
Derek is dead.

Time drags on, and it becomes apparent that this is not a part of the tradition. The wolves start to shift on their feet and murmur, but no one attempts to speak to Stiles. He stands, feeling the back of his neck growing red from the sun and his face growing red from embarrassment.

Erica’s goal in life was to be hired by Neckz’n’Throats. Not as a model, though she knew she was hot enough for that. No, she wanted to be behind the camera. And to do that, she needed two things. (7/7 I 25,419 I Explicit)
Stiles is pretty sure he’s hallucinating. He’s got to be. There’s no other plausible explanation, he thinks, as he sits on the sidelines of the lacrosse field and feels the cold, hard bench underneath him, the roar of the crowd at his back like the worst white noise machine in the world.
There’s no other reason why he sees it, the hulking, black figure of a wolf peering at him from the treeline behind the bleachers. Its eyes flare in the glaring glow of the stadium lights, but they’re the wrong color, he thinks: blood-moon red instead of cobalt blue, but the familiarity of it all makes his stomach roll and clench.

"Please, bring my nephew back" Stiles stays silent for a second, before clearing his throat and speaking again. "Well, let's hope the answer is still no".

Centuries ago, the Alliance gained control of the majority of the free world. The rest of the world, the Frontier, are the magical wastelands where criminals hide and dark secrets are lost and the pre-Alliance divisions remain. To foster a sense of allegiance, peace, and progression toward human and supernatural equality, the Alliance created the Handler-Shifter system to enforce supernatural law on behalf of humans and supernaturals alike.
For a better alliance, Stiles enters the service just like his parents before him. For the sake of Pack, Derek returns to the Alliance and finds himself partnered with a smart-mouthed, pale, kid who has seen more darkness than most people his age. Together with Scott and Kira, they find themselves standing on the edge of a revolution thousands of years in the making with only one question to answer:
Are they strong enough?

Something Blue (Part 2) // Sterek
Tumblr media
Derek is getting married and Stiles, as his best man, decides to bring in an old bridal tradition.
Warnings: swearing, a lot of built-up feelings that don't come out in the best of ways.
W/C: 2,487
A/N: Here come all the feels :)) (oh, and Derek is just slightly dumb)
Read part one here
The two werewolves followed in shock as the situation quickly escalated. "How can you marry someone and not put effort into it?! Look at the state of this thing!". He held the loose tie up. "It's a completely different and incompatible color, stained and- look here" he nearly shoved it into Derek's face, "It's coming unstitched! How can you do something like that to Braeden?! How can you think of no one but yourself?!" The room was silent, the only sound being the heavy breathing of a now completely disheveled Stiles. But the tension in that silence was dense. So thick, Scott's calling came muffled to his friend's ears. "Stiles?" Scott hesitated for a moment. He took a shy step forward, but Derek extended his arm, stopping him before he could do or say anything else.
"Scott," he said, turning his head just enough to see him. "Can you give us a second?" The young alpha nodded quietly, before making his way out of the room. Stiles was still frozen in place, avoiding Derek's gaze. "This isn't about Braeden or style, is it?" Derek took one slow step closer to Stiles. "Of course it is. Who else would it be about?" Stiles blurted out. "Stiles. Look at me." Derek's voice was calm and tender. It wasn't the voice of somebody angry. It was the voice of someone worried. When Stiles finally held his gaze his eyes were red, the tears now evident. "You know I don't have to listen to your heartbeat to know when you're lying to me."; the corner of Derek's mouth turned up into a smile. He never smiled at Stiles. Well, rarely. The only times he did that was to calm him down, to let him know that everything was okay. Except for this time nothing was gonna be okay, and Stiles knew that. "I'm missing something blue. Why don't we finish your ritual, hm?" Derek asked, his hand on Stiles's shoulder as soft as his voice when he spoke.
Stile's mouth suddenly went dry. With hesitation, he rummaged through the pocket of his pants, before pulling something small out of it. "Something blue, of course.", Derek whispered, looking at the dangling keys. "Stiles, why do you want to give me your Jeep?" "So you and Braeden have more space for groceries, suitcases, babies-" Derek's look was enough to stop the amber-eyed from continuing. "Why do you really want me to have your Jeep, Stiles? You'd never give that thing to anybody." Stiles opened his mouth to come up with some stupid excuse, but that's when he realized there were no words in any vocabulary behind which he could hide. And he didn't want to. The whole point of this charade was for him to confess his feelings to Derek. And so he did. "Because I'm scared you will forget me." Derek chuckled, shaking his head. "We both know that is impossible." "No, it isn't." "Stiles. There is no way I'm forgetting you. You're my anchor, my safe person, the one who keeps me sane when everything else around me screams for me to give in and let the wolf take over." Derek briefly paused and a glint of hope made its way through Stiles's eyes. Maybe there was a chance. And then Derek spoke again. "You're the closest thing to family I have." For a second, everything around Stiles went black. He didn't hear a single word Derek spoke after that sentence. He was sure that if the werewolf had focused his hearing, he would have been able to hear the sound of Stile's heart shattering. "That's not what I meant" was the only thing Stiles managed to get out. "What did you mean, then?" "God, how are you this clueless?". Stiles stepped away. His eyes were resentful and sad, but his face was somehow unreadable. "I don't… I don't understand." "Of course you don't, you idiot! I love you!" Stiles screamed, tears brimming his eyes. The room fell silent, Stiles's gaze piercing through Derek. After what felt like a lifetime, Derek's eyebrows furrowed, his eyes staying on the young man in front of him. "What do you mean you love me?". The question came out quiet, almost shy. "I mean I love you. I have loved you since the first time I laid my eyes on you that afternoon in the preserve. And I hate you for that. I hated you then and I hate you now. I hate you because there is no waking moment where I'm not thinking about you, and there is no dream of mine you don't hunt at night. I hate how good your aftershave smells, how perfect your hair is. I hate how warm your laughter makes me feel. I hate how whenever you hug me I wish we could stay like that forever, how destabilizing the sight of your body is. I hate everything you do to me. And you don't even realize it. You don't understand I would go to the ends of the Earth for you." Derek's puzzled expression did not falter. If anything, his eyebrows furrowed even deeper, if that was possible. "Okay.", Stiles scrubbed a hand across his face in frustration. "Maybe this will clear things out for you." He took a couple of long strides, enough to close the distance between him and Derek, before crashing his lips on his. Being caught off guard, the werewolf didn't react immediately. But then his brain started working again, his reactions to the kiss changing as the information was being processed.
Stiles loved him. He loved him in a way nobody else had ever loved him before. Derek deepened the kiss, flattered. His heart was brimming with affection for the clumsy young man who had irreparably made his way into the wolf's heart. But that was all it was. Affection. Not the romantic love Stiles had just poured all over him. And that's when he pushed him away, taking a step back to put even more distance between himself and Stiles. "I- I can't do this." It was now Stiles's turn to look puzzled. "Why did you kiss me back, then?" "It-it was a mistake. I let my emotions get the best of me and reacted without thinking." "Oh, so you're saying you love me too, but can't do this? Why, is it because of Braeden?" "Yes… No. I don't know.", Derek sighed exasperated, pinching the bridge of his nose. "Look. Me marrying Braeden has nothing to do with you. I love her. And I love you too, just…" it pained Derek too much to finish the sentence. "… Just not in the same way as I love you." Stiles finished it for him. Derek's gaze fell, knowing this would probably be the breaking point for Stiles. And, just as likely, for their relationship. He wasn't as clueless as Stiles made him out to be. He had noticed the glances Stiles would steal at him, how he would use all possible excuses to touch him, how he was always there for him, always available, always prioritizing him. Derek wasn't clueless. He had just been living in denial the entire time. Because he was scared to lose Stiles, too. Truth be told, he was terrified. Stiles's hand came to rest on Derek's shoulder. When he looked up, he saw a faint smile on Stile's face. His eyes were still filled with sadness, but Derek knew what he was doing. Stiles was putting him first. Stiles always put Derek first. He pulled Stiles into a tight hug. "I'm sorry.", he whispered. "Don't be.", Stiles replied. "I can finally stop waiting for you. Now, what do you say we get you married, huh?"

Hi, me again. In your Derek's Person story, Derek is taught how to play MTG from his friend. Do you think he would pass this on to the rest of the pack? If he did, what would the packs decks look like? For example, I run a green/white token deck that leans towards Phyrexian's. Can't wait to see the answers. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Heyy—I saw this right after school and had to RUSH home to answer lol. You play MTG?? Do you play MTG Arena (the online version of MTG)?? I play a green/red (gruul) werewolf deck that I've put way too much money into (those day/night flip cards are so fun).
Now for the series... Derek (and Paige) were taught by Camden and Jordan. In the current fic, Cam, Jordan, and Paige will be very affiliated with the Stilinskis—so they will absolutely be teaching the Beacon Hills pack (Stiles, Scott, Isaac, etc.) how to play. Derek will not be willing to spend enough time with the New York Hales to teach them, but the game will be living on in Beacon Hills (and waiting for him to play when he returns).
As for their decks... hmm...
Jordan has a white/green lifegain deck. Camden has a red/green werewolf deck (which he thinks is killer, but it's kinda weak because he just picked the cards that looked the coolest). I think Derek would kick ass with either a blue/black zombie deck or a blue/black/white vampire deck... I'll have to think about it. (or he has a blue/black/white zombie vampire deck?) I think Paige would have a red/green/white dinosaur deck and would use Polyraptor to fuck everyone over at every given chance. Stiles would have an unbeatable red/green werewolf deck with Tovolar, Dire Overlord as his commander (I also have this commander, but I think Stiles would perfect the deck in ways I never could...and Camden will be pissed that this child he taught has made a similar deck but 100x better). Scott... baby boy would have a mono white angel deck. Isaac would probably have a mono blue merfolk deck. (I could see them trading cards until they both end up with blue/white angelic merfolk decks). Malia would have a red/black burn deck that she is absolutely ruthless with.

Fic Rec Passover Day 5 😌
Happy reading!
And the Cold Pulls You Down by blacktofade - (Rating: Explicit, Words: 12967, sterek)
“Do you believe in ghosts?” Stiles asks Derek one night after he’s settled into bed, listening to the sound of Derek brushing his teeth in the bathroom.
“Ghosts?” Derek asks, voice muffled by toothbrush and paste as he stands in the doorway to stare at Stiles.
Or, the one where Stiles is 99.9% sure their house is haunted and no one believes him.
Bet On It by IDreamOnlyOfYou (lauren3210) - (Rating: Mature, Words: 8343, sterek)
Stiles is an RN and Derek the attending trauma surgeon at Beacon Hills Hospital. They're constantly arguing, much to the amusement of their colleagues, who ultimately decide to take bets on when the sexual tension will finally explode. The only question is, who will win the jackpot?
Or
5 times one of the guys try to push Derek and Stiles together, and the time they worked it out all on their own.
Chrerry Coke (or eight years, three month and four weeks) by madsmeetsmisha - (Rating: Explicit, Words: 5387, sterek)
The first time Stiles accidentally confesses his feelings, he is sixteen. Of course, the werewolf doesn't take the whole thing seriously. And yeah, Stiles always knew that he never stood a chance. After the second time it happened, Derek left Beacon Hills with his new beautiful girlfriend Breaden. Now, eight years after he first met Derek, they meet again...
Make Me Remember You Like You Remember Me by flymeofftoneverland - (Rating: G, Words: 4615, sterek)
After Stiles gets into a car accident, he wakes up in the hospital, remembering everyone but Derek.
oops by wyrmwolf - (Rating: Mature, Words: 4285, sterek)
“Wait, wait, Stiles?”
Scott gets a confused look on his face, “Yeah?”
“Stiles as in like, brown hair and moles Stiles? Stiles that drives a blue Jeep? That Stiles?” Derek describes the man.
“Yeah-how did? Have you two already met?” Scott looks truly confused now.”
“Well shit.” Derek leans back in his seat, realization hitting his face as a smirk curls into his lips.
Fascination by kalpurna - (Rating: Explicit, Words 3314, sterek)
drunktuesdays: Let's taunt ourselves with fic that we will never write.
Stiles is sitting in English class when the thought first occurs to him. They’ve been talking about the ending of Jane Eyre, and Rochester’s fate, and the concept of disability as punishment, and his mind jumps to Derek ordering him to cut off his arm, and he wonders idly whether the arm would have grown back or, more likely, just healed over the stump immediately, and huh, he thinks with a sudden thrill, huh, there’s no way Derek Hale is circumcised.
I'll Be Your Glass of Wine, You Be My Shot of Whiskey by ash_mcj - (Rating: Mature, Words: 3038, sterek)
“An Alpha...am I supposed to be impressed?” Stiles raised an eyebrow and Derek smirked.
“Have something against Alphas?”
“I have one at home,” Stiles said, purposefully lacing his tone with annoyance as he fought to keep his breathing even, since the ridiculously attractive man had not left his personal space. “I actually came to this bar to get my mind off of him, though."
“Well, I don't know how desperately you're wanting a distraction tonight, Red," Derek said, his eyes raking over the tight black shirt clinging to Stiles’ toned torso and down to his acid-washed skinny jeans. "-but I've got an empty house and a top-shelf wine cellar. I'm sure I could figure out a way to get your mind off of your shitty anniversary."
Stiles pretended to think it over for a moment while tracing the ring of his glass with his finger, before asking, “Do you have a car?”
“Camaro out front.”
[or: Derek and Stiles occasionally like to pretend they're strangers in a bar and go home together]
(For~ Sterek Valentine Week 2021; Day 2: Anniversary)
You Had Me Since by Emela - (Rating: Explicit, Words: 5102, sterek)
“Would it help if I blew you?” “What?” Derek sputters. There is no way he heard that right. No way would Stiles Stilinski be asking him if he wanted a- “Blow job.” That.
The Bodyguard by madsmeetsmisha - (Rating: Explicit, Words: 16418, sterek)
Actually, Stiles liked his job as a bodyguard. But the mission to protect Derek Hale was exhausting for several reasons. Especially because the young man he was supposed to protect was a huge asshole. But unfortunately, he was also damn hot!
Ghost in the Graveyard by venis_envy - (Rating: Explicit, Words: 2933, sterek)
The party cleared out pretty quickly after the Boy Who Cried Wolf, but a handful of people remain in the graveyard. Mostly Stiles' guests of the supernatural nature who aren't put off by the idea of a wolf prowling nearby.

Sterek Fic Recs Part 3
[You can find the first two lists here: Fluffy Sterek Recs & Sterek Fic Recs. Also here's a special fic, check it out]
First off, thank you all for a 100 followers!! As of September 7, 2021 you've made me feel really, really good about my obsession with two oblivious idiots (with sprinkles of the hale pack and other fandoms), and this is my way of thanking you ♥️
If you're on PC, you can see that there is a page dedicated solely to fic recs, which caters to other ships & fandoms too. So don't feel left out if you're looking for something other than Sterek!
Without further ado, let's get to it then!
an awful curse
Isaac is asleep in a chair. The angle of his neck makes Derek wince in sympathy.
"Isaac," Derek says.
Isaac snaps awake immediately.
"You're-"
"Where's Stiles?"
"Stiles?" Isaac asks.

Throw Away The Key
Stiles knew it was stupid to go to the hunters’ headquarters all by himself, so when he finds himself caught, he can really only blame himself.
It shouldn't surprise Stiles when the situation quickly goes from bad to worse as the hunters throw him to a feral werewolf waiting to tear him apart.
Sucks that it's Derek, though.

Whatever Happened Last Night, Why Did Glitter Have to Be Involved?
Derek rolled out of bed in search of his phone - quickly finding it in the pair of jeans that had evidently been tossed aside haphazardly on the way to the bed. Seeing the pants sparked flashes of memories - wolfsbane-laced alcohol, loud music, multicolored lights.
Peter’s new supernatural-friendly club - the pack had gone to the opening night party.
He unlocked his phone and opened the pack group chat, which Erica had affectionately named ‘Moon Sluts’.

Oblivious Misadventures, and Other Such Tales
Going to college was exciting and new, a chance for new friends and a fresh start, and the best part was, there was a supernatural fraternity on campus, meaning Scott finally had the freedom to be himself.
Then he met the resident human who came with a stalker alpha. What was the point of a supernatural fraternity if he still had to pretend to be human. And seriously, did Stiles ever fall asleep somewhere normal?

When the sheriff's sister ends up in a wheelchair for the duration of summer, Stiles' dreams of three months full of pack bonding, late-night video games and bro-time with Scott come crashing down. He's temporarily relocated to Redford, a three hour drive away, and he can already tell he won't be getting many visitors.
Sure the pack will forget about him while he's gone, Stiles is determined to make the most of his summer of isolation, training his body and mind - and his magic - so he can come back with a bang, and maybe catch a certain Sourwolf's eye.
Then Derek shows up at his window one night with a flimsy excuse about needing research done. Suddenly, his summer away is looking a whole lot more interesting.

What's a Secret Identity?
Stiles sipped at a mug of coffee, absently watching the news play in the break room. Because of course a news station couldn't play anything other than its own content, even in the one part of the office that was supposed to be a safe space from work. His interview with Superman was making a rerun and Stiles glanced at Derek before commenting absently, “I’d totally let Superman fuck me.”
Derek, who had been in the middle of a swig of coffee, choked violently, “That’s not something I needed to know at nine in the morning, Stiles.”
Stiles raised an eyebrow. “What time would you prefer I tell you about all of the things I would let Superman do to my body?”

But her big brother’s unwillingness to touch anyone, like he thinks he doesn’t deserve it isn’t the only thing she notices. She also notices how Stiles doesn’t touch him.
Everyone reaches for Derek in some form or another, but Stiles- Stiles is something different altogether because he reaches for Derek but he never makes contact.
He’ll be trying to shimmy past Derek and instead of putting a hand on his arm like most of them do, he’ll reach out with a hand and stop it scant centimeters away from Derek’s skin.
Or they’ll be walking alongside each other and Stiles will hover a hand on Derek’s lower back.
It’s both fascinating and tragic to watch, like NASA lost control of one of their robots and instead of it landing on the moon it’s fated to gravitate around it.

Then, during a spur of the moment grocery run, he stumbles upon Derek Hale attempting to console a lost child, and for the first time in recent memory the world doesn't seem so awful.
He's not sure what he'd been expecting when he eventually convinces Derek to move into the Stilinski's spare bedroom, but a newfound passion for weeding and topsoil certainly isn't it.

As it usually goes, Derek acts before he thinks. This time he has a good reason, though-it's all Stiles' fault. Mostly.
Or, that time when Derek volunteered to spend all his spare time as a wolf with the Beacon Hills Sheriff's Office K9 Unit, just to protect Stiles' dumb ass.

“Obviou—um, what? Derek?” Stiles managed. “What? You’re not colorblind. You’re colorblind?”
“Yes.” Derek said gruffly. “And?”
“And? What do you mean and? You can’t see colors?” Stiles demanded, thrown. “Does it—what kind is it? Red-green? Blue-yellow? Why doesn’t—oh my god, is this why your entire freaking wardrobe was completely black until like two years ago? Oh my god!”
“There’s nothing wrong with having a favorite color, Stiles.”

Couples Costume
Sheriff Stilinski has the job of chaperoning the school dance when he realises his son is wearing one half of a couple’s costume and he wants to know who has the other half.
[AO3]
Tumblr media
 “Jackson,” Sheriff Stilinski said warningly.
The young man jumped, snatching his arm back from the punch bowls and quickly hiding the silver flask behind his back as he turned to face the Sheriff.
“Hello, sir,” Jackson said, feigning innocence.
He flashed a charming smile, but it had no affect on John.
John levelled him with an unwavering look and he held out his hand, motioning for Jackson to hand the flask over.
Jackson bowed his head, looking guilty as he moved his hand from behind his back and handed over the flask.
“You can pick it up from the station tomorrow,” John said.
“What?” Jackson objected.
“I’m not going to let you spike the punch and I’m not going to give you back a flask of alcohol before you drive home?” John asked.
Jackson tensed. “Are you going to tell my parents?”
“Not if you don’t try this again,” John promised.
Jackson nodded.
“Now, go on,” John said, nodding towards the crowd.
Jackson hurried back over to his group of friends.
John shook his head, sliding the flask into the inside pocket of his windcheater.
He looked around the large space of the school gym. The large room had been decorated for the Halloween dance; with a canopy of white fabric and orange, purple and black streamers strung from the ceiling to make it look like a tent, strings of lights followed the curves of the fabric and trailed down the walls, and stacks of jack-o-lanterns that the students had carved.
There were a few tables set up around the corners of the room with orange table cloths draped over them and fake candles sitting in the middle of the table to light them.
Students moved around the space, dressed in costumes; standing in small groups around the edges of the hall, talking, or joining the crowd in the middle of the hall, dancing.
A familiar face emerged from the crowd, making his way over to John.
Stiles’ hair had been coloured with pink on one side and blue on the other, matching the eye shadow that Lydia had put on him. He had tattooed painted on him with eyeliner. He had a thick choker with silver letters spelling out PUDDIN around his neck.
He wore a pair of tight red pleather pants with a studded belt, a jacket that was split in half – one side red and the other blue – and a slightly torn tee-shirt with curved black lettering that read ‘Daddy’s Lil Monster’. The shirt was cropped short and slightly torn at the bottom, revealing a glimpse of Stiles’ toned abs and slender waist. To complete the look, he carried around a foam replica of the baseball bat from Suicide Squad.
“Hey, kiddo,” John greeted.
“I thought chaperones had to dress up too?” Stiles asked, looking his dad up and down.
“I did dress up,” John replied. “I’m a Sheriff.”
Stiles levelled him with an exasperated look.
“Forget about me,” John said, changing the subject. He pointed at Stiles’ costume. “Harley Quinn, right?”
“Yeah,” Stiles said, looking down at himself. “I wanted the more classic red and black look, but this was all they had available.”
“Now, if I remember rightly, that costume was marketed as a couples costume,” John said, looking his son up and down. “So, where’s your Joker?”
“Poison Ivy, actually,” Stiles replied.
“Let me guess… Lydia,” John guessed.
“No,” Stiles answered. “She’s Daphne.”
“Daphne?” John repeated, confused.
“From Scooby Doo,” Stiles explained.
“Allison?”
“She’s Velma,” Stiles answered. “Lydia’s Daphne, Isaac’s Fred, Allison’s Velma, and Scott’s Shaggy—he’s even carrying around a Scooby Doo plushie.”
“Okay, so who’s your Ivy?” John asked. He waved dismissively. “It doesn’t matter—I want a photo of you two, so take me to them.”
“John,” Coach Finstock called out, making his way over to the Sheriff’s side.
Stiles swallowed hard. He turned to Lydia as she stepped up beside him, leaning in close and whispering, “Can you find Derek and give him the heads up; I’m being forced to out him?”
“On it,” Lydia said quietly, turning and disappearing into the crowd.
Stiles felt his chest tighten, his heart hammering against his ribs. He felt the lump in his throat swell. His heart beat faster as tears began to prick at his eyes.
He looked over his shoulder to see Lydia enter the gym again with Derek by her side.
Derek was dressed in a pair or red pleather pants and a corset-like deep green vest that was embroidered with light green thread in the pattern of ivy leaves with fake leaves of ivy sewn onto it to make it 3D. A vine of fake ivy was coiled around each of his arms, accentuating the curves of his firm biceps.
His sharp cheek bones were highlighted by a soft shade of green that matched the colour of his eye shadow. Lydia had used eyelash glue to stick fake ivy leaves to Derek’s eyebrows and red hair spray to colour his hair.
His face lit up with sweet smile when he saw Stiles.
“I’m so sorry,” Stiles whispered under his breath when Derek reached him.
“It’s okay,” Derek replied, keeping his voice low. “No matter what happens, you’ve still got me.”
Derek looked at him lovingly, his pale aventurine eyes sparkling in the glow of the string lights.
Stiles returned his smile, swallowing hard against the lump in his throat.
Derek took Stiles’ trembling hand in his own, giving it a gentle, reassuring squeeze.
Stiles drew in a deep breath, trying to steady his racing heart. He turned back towards his dad just as Coach said goodbye and chased off after a student causing trouble.
“Dad,” Stiles started slowly, his voice tense and anxious. “This is Derek… My boyfriend.”
A look of surprise passed over John’s face as he looked from Stiles to Derek.
Derek offered his a smile, tightening his hold on Stiles’ shaking hand.
John smiled in return.
“You look great, Derek,” he said. “Do you mind if I get a picture of you two?”
“Sure,” Derek said, stepping closer to Stiles’ side.
He saw Stiles’ shoulders drop as he let out a sigh of relief. His hand was still shaking as he held on to Derek.
John dug his phone out of his pocket and quickly took a photo of the two of them. He smiled at them as he lowered his phone. “Thank you.”
“Do you want a drink?” Derek asked them both.
“I’m alright, thank you,” John replied.
“I’d like one please,” Stiles answered.
Derek nodded, giving Stiles’ hand a gentle squeeze before letting go and making his way over to the drinks table.
Stiles felt he sense of dread return, his chest tightening.
“I wanted to tell you…” Stiles said, looking down at his feet. “I was just… I was scared that you’d hate me.”
“Stiles,” John said softly, setting his hand on his son’s shoulder and craning his neck to look Stiles in the eye. “You are my son and I love you, no matter what.”
Glistening tears welled in Stiles’ eyes, lit by the surrounding lights. A weak smile turned up the corner of his mouth.
“How long have you two been together?” John asked.
“About eight months,” Stiles admitted.
“You managed to keep this from me for eight months?” John asked, stunned.
Stiles shrugged.
“I’m happy for you,” John said, smiling as he gently tousled his son’s hair.
“Thanks, dad.”
“Now, go have fun.”
 -------------------------
A while later, John stepped out of the gym to patrol the halls and the outside of the building to make sure no students were sneaking off to cause trouble. He made his way around the side of the old red brick building and slowed when he saw Stiles sitting outside on a step.
He went to walk forward when he heard the door open and a familiar voice said, “Hey, you okay?”
Stiles turned slightly, smiling as he looked up at Derek.
“Yeah,” he answered. “I just needed a break from the crowd and the music.”
“Do you want some company?” Derek asked hesitantly.
“I’d love some.”
Derek stepped forward, sitting down on the step beside Stiles.
“Sorry I’m not more fun.”
“I’m having plenty of fun just spending time with you,” Derek said. He paused, thinking for a moment. “Do you want to dance?”
“I want to dance, but I just feel so overwhelmed in there,” Stiles admitted.
“Okay,” Derek said, digging into his pocket and fishing out his phone. He scrolled through his music library before picking a song and turning up the volume just a little. It was a slow song with a soft melody.
Derek rose to his feet and held a hand out to Stiles.
Stiles smiled as he took Derek’s hand, letting him pull Stiles to his feet. He pulled him closer, holding Stiles’ hand in his as he set his other hand on Stiles’ hip and began to sway.
Stiles let out a quiet chuckle as he rested his head against Derek’s shoulder, wrapping his arm around Derek’s shoulder as he swayed back and forth, following the sweet melody of the song.
Derek rested his cheek atop Stiles’ head as they danced slowly beneath the light of the back door and the streetlights along the car park.
John couldn’t help but smile as he watched them, a sense of relief filling his chest when he saw the smile on his son’s face.
  -------------------------
“It’s time to announce the winners of the costume contest,” Natalie Martin announced as Stiles and Derek made their way back into the gym.
The crowd gathered around the small stage that had been set up at the far end of the gym.
“First up; the award for best dressed girl.” Natalie opened the envelope and read the name, “Supergirl; Erica Reyes.”
The crowd applauded as Erica made her way up onto the stage.
Natalie handed her a bouquet of flowers and a certificate.
Erica thanked her before making her way off stage.
“Next up, the award for best dressed boy goes to…” Natalie opened the next envelope. “The gladiator; Danny Mahealani.”
The crowd cheered again as Danny – shirtless and dressed as a gladiator – stepped up onto the stage to receive his certificate and flowers.
“And now for the best dressed group,” Natalie continued once Danny had joined the crowd again. “The best dressed group goes to—” She opened the envelope. “—the Scooby Doo gang; Isaac Lahey, Lydia Martin, Allison Argent, and Scott McCall.”
The crowd cheered loudly as they made their way up onto the stage to receive their certificates and flowers.
They made their way down off the stage and Natalie picked up another envelope.
A buzz of confused chatter filled the room.
“And a last minute addition,” Natalie said. “The award for the best couples costume goes to—” She opened the envelope. “—Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy; Stiles Stilinski and Derek Hale.”
The crowd roared with applause. A few people let out sharp wolf whistles.
Stiles bowed his head, trying to hide his blush.
Derek reached out and took his hand, leading the way through the crowd and up to the stage.
They made their way up the small flight of stairs and across the stage, accepting the certificates that read ‘Best Dressed Couple’ with their names written beneath the elegantly typed title and a bouquet of brightly coloured flowers.
Stiles smiled sweetly, sticking close to Derek as the crowd’s applause grew louder.
They made their way off stage and over to where Lydia, Isaac, Allison and Isaac stood.
Lydia bounded over to Stiles’ side, wrapping her arms around him as she congratulated him. Scott gave Derek a half-hug before hugging Stiles.
Stiles’ face was lit with a bright smile. He turned to face Derek, stepping closer to him and leaning against his side.
John couldn’t help but smile as he watched them—watched how happy his son was, watched the way his eyes lit up as he looked at Derek lovingly. He couldn’t help but feel happy for his son.

@darknightfrombeyond small snippet from the chaper about Kayla's cut life string. I couldn't add it to the ask because it would've been super long hahaha
His teary and red rimmed eyes locked onto her still and bloody form laid straight on the table, those eyes still open and chest so still it was eerie.
He could see already the leftover blood bruising her skin, settling and pooling in places and making her translucent appearance look even more deadly white.
There was little or no blood left, most was stained in their clothes.
She had literally bled to death, choking and suffocating on her own blood, lungs drowning in red and heart painfully tearing itself apart. It was cruel and painful and dragged out far too long. He had pleaded and begged for her to stay with him, to keep holding on but now, remembering clearly her expression of pain, he wondered if that was selfish of him.
She was dying an excruciating torturous death, every single nerve of her body screaming in pain but he made her hold on, he kept her alive through those agonising minutes when all she felt was pain so severe she had probably wanted death to come quickly.
But he was selfish. He never wanted to say goodbye. He caused her that torment when he should've held it together and cradled her gently, whispering words of comfort and telling her it was okay to let go even though he never wanted that.
Because her injuries were fatal and no matter how hard he tried to stench the blood flow it was impossible to save her life. He had failed her yet again.
The loud chimes of the front door pierced through his hazy brain but he never bothered looking up, keeping his saddened eyes on her dead body, her empty shell, and only moved when he heard a call of his name in a thick feminine French accent, a chill running down his shell.
He recognised them immediately – how couldn't he? The devereaux's, the ones he saw only briefly all those weeks ago but the ones he still had nightmares about. The family of siblings that had accepted Kayla's claim on him, the very same ones that warned her away from him.
She should've listened.
He barely had enough energy to stand up, his legs shaking as more tears brimmed forward, meeting Colette's dark and angry stare, her brothers just a mere foot behind her.
"Mr Stilinski" she purred, voice filled with poison, perfect black hair scraped back and black suit neat and uncreased, "still alive I see" and he flinched like he had been hit, his guilty eyes unable to hold her gaze.
It was his fault this happened… all of this was his fault. Allison, Aiden, Kayla, they were all dead because of him. Because he was weak. He lost some of the most important people in his life because he failed. He was a failure.
"Yes, you look away" she practically spat, "because you know, don't you? You know this is your fault"
"Don't-"
Her furious voice cut off Scott's surprised and protective exclamation, her eyes like burning fire, "Don't you dare defend such a despicable creature" she snarled, "humans – this is why I hate them, selfish and arrogant with no care for anyone but themselves. You get to live and our world-" she emphasised, reminding him painfully that he wasn't fully apart of the supernatural world, not really, "-has to lose one of the greatest young potentials in years" she scoffed in disbelief, her furious stare so intense Stiles felt like he was dying inside, "you got her killed and I hope you feel this incapacitating guilt for the rest of your puny life"
But what surprised Stiles was Derek standing up, his eyes flashing blue in anger.
"Get. Out" he snarled, "you do not get to be mad about losing Kayla's 'potential' when I lost my cousin, when they lost their friend, when Stiles lost his love-"
"And it was that love that got her killed" Colette exclaimed, fury in her tone, "I warned her, I told her of the dangers but she didn't listen. And now look at her-" he flinched again as Colette nodded over towards Kayla's dead body, "-she's rotting away in front of your very eyes and all for a human boy" she spat, like the words left the worst taste in her mouth, "you are one selfish murderer Mr Stilinski and I hope you get exactly what you deserve"
"I said get out" Derek growled, his grief making him uncontrollably angry, "and don't you dare come back or I will rip your throat out without a second thought"
She just stared back unamused at Derek's threat, cocking an eyebrow at him as she reached deep into her pants pocket and slowly took out that soft vibrant silky string letting it cascade over her fingers as she brushed past Derek, ignoring his furious growl and stepped in front of him, roughly pressing it into his slack grip.
"This was her life line" she murmured and Stiles' eyes welled with more tears, his breath hitching as he noticed the very obvious cut through the string, "I cut it because of you… because you got her killed. It's your fault" she whispered, "may your life be filled with chaos and misery" and with that she just swept away, her brothers close on her tail leaving Stiles in an agonised mess, complete and utter turmoil pumping through his veins.
Just a small piece to show how it went down haha

Except at Waffle House
A Sterek AU inspired by that ridiculous Reddit post about the girl who’s BF keeps fighting the cook at Waffle House.
As far as boyfriend’s went, Braeden hit the jackpot when she met Derek Hale. She hadn’t been looking for a partner when she’d stepped into the first class of her Master’s program, but there he’d been, sitting dead-center of the third row in the cavernous lecture hall.  Derek was… different.  Intelligent, well-read, handsome, driven; he’d weathered tragedy and trauma with elegance, emerging on the other side with a soft-spoken grace.  He made Braeden laugh with a wit so dry it kindled a fire in her belly.  To other women, Derek’s obscene good looks—chiseled jawline, soft hair the color of midnight, ass you could bounce quarters off of—might have been his biggest draw, but for Braeden, it was Derek’s hard-won composure.  When she decided to drop out of the Federal Marshall program and pursue her own independent career, Derek never batted an eye.  When she came home from dangerous missions sporting cuts, scrapes and bruises, he didn’t rage over her playing fast and loose with her own welfare.  He simply said, “I’m glad you’re home safe.”  Derek never yelled, never lost his temper, never fought.  He was a dream come true.
Except at Waffle House.
Truth be told, Braeden didn’t love Waffle House, but food was food and a girl’s gotta eat. Derek, however, had some deep-seated appreciation of the greasy chain that stretched back into his childhood, before his parents and older sister died. So while she preferred to eat elsewhere, Braeden found herself at Waffle House a few times a week, feeding Derek’s desire to reconnect with fond adolescent memories.
“Service might be a bit slower today,” said their usual waitress, who’s bright yellow name tag read Erica.  She plopped an iced-tea in front of Braeden, and a steaming cup of black coffee before Derek.  Erica snapped her bubblegum, pulled a tiny notepad from the pocket of her black apron, and snatched a stubby pencil out of her perky blonde ponytail.  “Boyd’s training a new cook.  What’re y’all having?”
Sure enough Boyd, the owner of the franchise, stood at the grill, patiently pointing at burners and griddles while the long-fingered hands of the tall, thin guy next to him flew around like drunk hummingbirds.  Braeden figured the new cook was replacing Scott, who had quit the line to attend Veterinary school.  When you spent several days a week eating there, the Waffle House family became your family.
Braeden was known to make her way through the various menu items.  Some people had their tried and true staples, but she preferred to throw tradition to the wind. One day it was pecan waffles, the next, chili smothered hash browns.  Today, a cheese steak omelet.  Derek however was a creature of habit.  “I’ll have the--”
“Steak and eggs,” Erica interrupted, graphite scratching over the paper.  “Steak medium-rare and egg yolks slightly runny.  Whole wheat toast, well done.”
“You got it,” Derek said agreeably, handing over his flimsy laminated menu.  “Thanks, Erica.”
They filled the void between placing their order and receiving their food with anecdotes from work and a fast and furious game of hangman on the back of their paper placemats.  Waffle House may be lacking in sophistication, but it’s service was always speedy.
“Here ya go.” Erica plunked plates in front of them and topped off Derek’s coffee.  “Let me know if you need anything else.” But the call bell rang in the kitchen and she bustled away, already half-way down the aisle.
Three forkfuls of cheesy goodness passed her lips before Braeden realized Derek was poking at yellow lumps on his platter with a stiff triangle of toast, watching the yolks crumble like a house of sand.  She finished chewing, swallowed.  “Derek?  Is something wrong?”
“It’s my eggs,” he lamented.  “They’re super hard.  Not runny at all.”
Had she known the repercussions of her next words, Braeden might have given them more thought.  But unbeknownst to her, she was about to score red on the Waffle House Index of how prepared she was to weather the coming shit storm.
“Just call Erica back,” Braeden suggested, waving her fork in the air.  “The kitchen can whip up another batch. No big deal.”
Famous last words.
Erica flounced over, ponytail swinging behind her.  “Sorry about that, honey,” she chirped.  “The new cook is still finding his groove.  I’ll be right back with the correct order.”
Derek thanked her again but watched with hazel eagle eyes as she brought the plate back to the open kitchen, speaking to the mole-speckled guy at the grill whose bed head hair was barely contained under his dorky paper hat.  Derek squirmed in his seat.
Braeden’s eyebrows furrowed.  “That’s a really complex call-in system these employees need to learn.  And all that crazy code with the jelly and mayo packets?  They’re bound to make mistakes sometimes.”
Derek grunted, watching Erica return with a heaping plate of eggs.  This time they were scrambled.  “These are scrambled,” he said stupidly, blinking at the fluffy little clouds.
Looking down, Erica seemed to see them for the first time.  She rolled her eyes and groaned.  “Ugh.  Stiles.”
“Yeah, it’s a style of eggs, just not the one I ordered.”
“No,” Erica shook her head.  “S-T-I-L-E-S.  Stiles is our new cook.  I promise I’ll be back with the correct eggs in a few.”
But ten minutes later a plate of thinly sliced hard-boiled eggs laid out in a flower pattern was placed in front of Derek.  Braeden couldn’t help it, she threw back her head and laughed.  “At this point, I think the cook’s fucking with you,” she told him.
But Derek wasn’t in on the joke.  He pushed the plate away and threw money down on the table.  “Hopefully both his cooking and his comedy routine improves,” Derek grumbled, pulling on his leather jacket.
Maybe now they could finally eat at some different restaurants.
----------
Three days later, they were back at Waffle House.
“There are over 1,500 other Waffle Houses in America,” Braeden said for the millionth time, waving her map app in Derek’s face.  “Look, there’s one twelve miles away.”
“It’s the principle of the thing,” Derek scowled, sending his second plate of eggs back to the kitchen.  First, they were poached, then they were part of a bacon egg and cheese sandwich.
The third time a single slice of toast sat on a wide white plate, a perfect circle cut from the center.  Inside the circle was an egg.  Cooked over-hard.
Braeden took a fortifying breath of humid maple-scented air.
“Okay I’ve had enough,” Derek yelled, standing up from the booth.  “You,” he pointed at Stiles the cook, who stared back with a wide insolent mouth and tricky amber eyes.  “Take this garbage back and cook my eggs the right way.”
Stiles slowly pulled a dirty apron over his neck, dislodging his ridiculous hat, and sauntered around the counter on long legs to stand in front of Derek, crowding into his personal space.  Toe to toe, there was barely any difference in height between the two men, though their body types varied greatly.  Derek was built like a brick shithouse, Stiles like a twink.
“Is there a problem, dude?” Stiles asked coolly, with the poker face of an Easter Island head. The only crack in his stone facade was the tiny quirk at the edge of his pert lips.
“Yeah,” Derek growled, pushing a finger into Stiles’ thin chest, “my problem is you and your shitty egg cooking skills.”
“Shitty?” The quirk blossomed into a fully grown smirk.  “I’ve made you several plates of superb eggs, dude.  It’s not my fault you won’t even try them.”
“Quit calling me dude.”
“Sure thing, buddy.” Stiles winked and stared Derek down like a cowboy in a duel with nothing left to live for.  Where had Boyd found this sadist cook?
“My name is Derek. Not buddy. Not dude.  Derek.” The words leaked out between Derek’s clenched teeth. Braeden could slice American cheese off his jaw right now.
Stiles smiled like he’d won the lottery, angling his body slightly away from Derek, but never breaking eye contact.  “Hey Waffle House, Derek here thinks my eggs suck.  Do all of you fine, upstanding people think my eggs are good?”  Stiles got several thumbs-up, two enthusiastic whistles, and one wrinkled middle finger from a white-haired man hunched over at the service counter.  Stiles gave the guy a thumbs up. “Thanks for your honesty mister.  It’s much appreciated.”
“What the hell was that?  What are you trying to do?” Derek was snarling, and the look between both men was lethal. Eyes sparked.  Lips wetted.  Fingers twitched. Braeden held her breath, sure fists would start flying at any second.  Derek made muted sounds of rage worthy of an aspiring ventriloquist. They were too close, puffed out chests a hair's-breadth apart.
Stiles shrugged.  “My Waffle House, my rules.  Rule number one, pull that stick out of your ass, Derek.”
Derek took Stiles by the surprisingly broad shoulders and backed him into the coat rack.  “Next time I’m here, you’re gonna make me my food the way I order it.”
As quick as it started, the altercation was over.  Derek backed out of the overcoats, and Stiles came stumbling after like two teenagers emerging from a closet after seven minutes in heaven.  Derek made a beeline for the exit.
“Oh yeah?” Stiles yelled at Derek’s retreating back.  “I'll show you sunny side up!”
The whole thing was made even more ridiculous by the merrily tinkling overhead bell as Derek slammed outside.
_______
“Feeling up for trying Schwarma tonight?” Braeden asked when they pulled into the lot and parked next to Stiles’ run down blue Jeep.
“Not a chance,” Derek replied, practically backflipping out of the Camaro.
----------
“Derek, NO!” she said.
DEREK, YES he heard, and Derek, her Derek, the pinnacle of poise, yeeted himself over the counter, grabbing the yellow crossover uniform tie around Stiles’ neck.
----------
“At least Stiles didn’t spike Derek’s drink with meth,” Erica shrugged.  Today the two men were rolling around on the greasy tile floor.
“Are you being ironic?” Braeden asked, taken aback by the seriousness of Erica’s tone.
“Waffle House is an irony-free zone,” Boyd informed her with a straight face. “I’m just thankful there’s no AR-15s or nudity today.”
“Yet,” Erica leered.
What the hell happened at Waffle House?!
----------
“I’ll have an Angus patty melt, and a slice of Aunt Maggie’s Triple Chocolate pie, please,” Braeden ordered as chaos descended around her.  “It’s like when I have food in front of me, everything is beautiful and nothing hurts.”
“That’s the magic of Waffle House,” Erica said sagely.
“It’s something,” Braeden replied.
----------
She was scattered, smothered, covered in food debris, collateral damage from Stiles and Derek’s ongoing war.
“Don’t worry, Hunny,” a friendly woman in the adjacent booth told her.  “Throw a tide pod in with that shirt and the stains will come right out!  Just don’t eat it like those crazy kids are doing these days.”
“Who in their right mind would eat a tide pod?” Braeden asked.
The answer was a serious side-eye.  “Who in their right mind would keep returning to a restaurant to tussle with the cook?”
Touche.
----------
Waffle House had a special Valentine’s Day candlelight dinner, which Braeden could have happily gone her whole life not knowing about or participating in.
Erica sat them right next to the fancy new digital touchscreen jukebox.  Stiles came out, fed the machine twenty dollars, and set it to play “I Touch Myself” by Divinyls two-hundred and forty times on repeat.
Braeden wasn’t sure if Derek touched himself that night, but any guy who took her on a Valentine date to Waffle House and proceeded to fist-fight the cook certainly wasn’t going to be touching her.
__________
Braeden parked down the road and walked to Waffle House, unsurprised to find Derek’s car in the parking lot.  She’d quit going with him two weeks ago. To so many hungry, lost, and seriously hammered people, Waffle House’s warm yellow glow was a beacon of salvation.  For Braeden, who watched from the peaceful vantage point of the parking lot as her boyfriend grappled the skinny cook into a headlock and proceeded to give him a vicious noogie, it would forever be a reminder that Derek was the perfect guy for her, except when it came to Stiles.  Once upon a time, Braeden appreciated the fact that women everywhere were always looking at her man. He turned heads, but none of them ever seemed to turn his.  Except at Waffle House, and it wasn’t a woman.
Derek walked out of the restaurant twenty minutes later to find her sitting on the hood of his black Camaro.  “You’re breaking up with me, aren’t you?” he asked, monotone. She wondered at Drek’s equanimity, which has always seemed so inviting to her before.  Maybe Braeden just didn’t inspire passion in Derek, the way Stiles obviously did.
She nodded.
“Is there anything I can say to change your mind?”
She shook her head.  “Not unless you can tell me what this is really about. Not unless you can tell me who you are.  Because this person isn’t the Derek I thought I knew.”
Lately, she’d been thinking a lot about a proverb her mother used to recite when she was younger.  Briseann an dúchais trí shúile an chait. The true nature of someone’s character is revealed through their eyes.  Derek’s head swiveled between Braeden and the view through the glass window, where Erica was helping Stiles off the floor, and Boyd was mopping up spilled chocolate milk, and several patrons were still surreptitiously filming the whole ordeal on their cellphones. Derek’s eyes followed Stiles like a wolf stalking prey.  “Shit, I—”
“Derek,” she said, sliding down the hood and coming to stand before him, “you were an amazing boyfriend and a great guy.”  Braeden sighed. “Except at Waffle House.”
Derek shoved his fists into the front pockets of his too-tight jeans, scuffed the toe of his sneaker against the brick facade of the restaurant.  “Yeah,” he relented.  “I’m really sorry.”
“Me too, Derek.”  She gently patted his stubbled cheek.  “Good luck with-” she gestured toward the golden fluorescent lights, the black and yellow signage, at Stiles standing stock still and Bambi-eyed behind the counter, holding a chunk of frozen bacon to the top of his head- “whatever the hell this is.  I’ll see you around.”
She waved good-bye to Stiles through the window, who raised a hesitant hand back to her, and walked out of the parking lot.
Roughly a year and a half later, Braeden thumbed through a used newspaper while she waited at her local coffee shop for the barista to call her name.  She flipped from business to sports, passing the society section on her way, when a pithy headline caught her attention.
Waffle Brawls lead to Wedding Bells.
Huh.  So that’s what all the fighting was really about.
Underneath the catchy title was a byline: “Groom learned sixteen new ways to cook eggs during fearsome flirtation.”
“Caramel Macchiato for Braeden!”
Braeden tossed the paper onto the tabletop, leaving it open to Stiles and Derek’s wedding announcement, and left the coffee shop with a laugh on her lips.
You couldn’t make this shit up.  Except at Waffle House.

can you do "Can we please pretend I never said that?" if your still doing prompts? love your blog xx
Stiles heard something somewhere.
Something about rising and falling into love. That you don’t ‘rise into love’ but you ‘fall into it’. There’s no moving upward, there’s no ‘head in the clouds’. There was just falling. Falling head over heels, taking that step off the edge of the cliff, accepting the impending doom of bottom where there’s no more rush of the drop.
The idea of the fall. God, what a cliche. But Stiles thought it had to start somewhere.
It wasn’t big like in the movies.
The first time Stiles realized he might be in love with Derek Hale, it was long after the fight with the latest monster of the week. Stiles had stayed in the back with Lydia, but he was always ready to move forward. To hell with Derek’s warning of “Don’t do anything stupid” because the moment the omega had clawed Derek across the back and the man’s roar had cut through the air, Stiles had nearly gone feral too.
But he didn't. Then Isaac ripped out the omega's throat, Scott rushed to Allison’s side, Lydia rushed to Jackson’s, and Stiles continued to stand on the sidelines, baseball bat held loosely in his hand. He watched Derek without thinking about it, eyes following as the man moved over to his own pack and carefully checked them up and down.
Gentle fingers traced over the back of Erica’s neck and combed through Isaac’s hair. Boyd had been hurt the worst of the three and Derek took some of his pain as the beta’s open wound stitched itself back together ever so slowly.
There were still bloody marks across Derek’s chest. His shirt was hanging on in tatters but he paid it no attention. Only when Boyd was climbing slowly to his feet, pulling Erica close, did Derek glance down at himself.
Then grey-green eyes snapped up to where Stiles stood. Derek’s eyes searched Stiles up and down and the man nodded quietly before turning away. Stiles swallowed hard and turned away too, plodding in the silence back toward his jeep. He wasn't even sure where Scott had gone.
The clearing was empty when he glanced back.
He probably should have expected the window to open up much later that night, but Stiles would like to say he never expected anything Derek Hale did. He startled so hard he nearly flailed out of bed and Derek froze, one leg inside Stiles’s bedroom and one still outside of it.
Stiles groaned, rubbing at his eyes.
“Dude, Sourwolf, what the hell are you doing here?”
“I wanted to make sure you were alright.”
Stiles blinked a few times, pretty sure he’d heard that wrong. But then Derek carefully pulled himself all the way into the room and glanced at Stiles almost nervously, before leaning closer and taking a small sniff. His face did something weird.
“Scott hasn’t been here tonight.”
“Uh, no, dude. He went home with Allison, as usual. Is something up?”
“Scott should have checked in on you.”
Stiles looked at him for a long moment and then chuckled humorlessly, running a hand through his hair. “Hey, nothing against Scotty-boy, big guy, but I’m totally fine! See, one-hundred percent still in one piece. Trust me, if I’d been anything but, I would have been making a big fuss by now.”
Derek still didn’t look satisfied. In fact, he almost looked unsettled. Stiles decided this was way more than he’d expected tonight to go and he nervously picked at his covers. He was only sleeping in his boxers, dammit. And he’d decided to skip showering tonight.
“So, is there anything else I can do, or…?”
“No,” Derek said, stepping back. He still didn’t look content. “No, I’ll go.”
For a moment, there were a million different things on Stiles’s tongue. Like maybe he could call him back. Invite him downstairs for a late-night snack or something. But that was stupid, right? Derek had come here because… well, Stiles wasn’t sure exactly he'd come. But it wasn’t like Derek wanted to stick around.
The man still glanced back one more time. Then he nodded and ducked out of the window again.
And Stiles was left picking at his covers in the silence.
-
The first time Stiles showed up to Derek’s loft with a black eye and split lip, he was pretty sure the man was about to kill someone. The thing is, Stiles hadn’t actually expected to show up with a black eye and split lip, but then he pissed off the wrong hunters and ended up calling Scott a few times before giving up and dragging himself to Derek’s loft instead.
Stiles honestly thought the man was going to kill someone. And he was a little terrified that someone might end up being him.
Except, Derek didn’t seem upset about the hunters. He seemed upset about Stiles.
Stiles would like to say he knew what to do with that realization, but that would be a total lie. As Derek studied his face and growled, the betas watching silently from the couch, Stiles honestly had no idea what to do.
“Derek, dude, I’m fine. Really.”
Derek flat out ignored him, turning toward his betas. “Go track down the hunters and make sure they know not to step foot into Beacon Hills again. Understand?”
Boyd silently nodded, nudging the other two up. Carefully fingers ghosted over the back of Stiles’s neck as the betas left and the moment the door closed, Derek was turning toward the kitchen.
Stiles just stood there feeling like an idiot. Because this was the last thing he had expected. Ever.
“Derek, seriously. It's nothing bad. Like, at all.”
Derek came back out with an unimpressed expression on his face and a first aid kit in his hand. Stiles blinked at it, studying the man’s face, and then Derek pointed him toward the couch. Slowly, Stiles moved to comply.
“So, uh, a first aid kit?”
Derek’s face didn’t betray a thing. He sat Stiles down and then popped it open, pulling out a few cotton swabs and a container of something clear. Stiles smelled chemicals and winced.
“Oh no, that's gonna hurt. Seriously, dude, I’m fine.”
“Just stay still, Stiles.”
Normally, Stiles would probably agree to disagree and maybe make this as difficult for Derek as possible. But instead, he went still and found himself watching Derek work instead. The man looked far less angry and far more concerned, and Stiles didn’t know what to do with the pit in his stomach at that. Grey-green eyes searched Stiles’s face and Derek carefully reached forward.
“Where was Scott?”
This time, when Stiles winced, it was for a different reason. “I dunno. Out?”
“How did this happen?”
“I got jumped leaving the station a couple of hours ago,” Stiles said quietly. “But really, dude, it’s fine. I couldn’t get an answer from his phone so I figured I’d come here instead—”
“Not the hospital?”
“Dude, it’s a few bruises and cuts. I’m not going to the hospital for that.”
Derek clenched his jaw, eyes flashing, but didn’t protest that. Instead, he dabbed a damp cotton swap against Stiles’s check and looked a little angry again when Stiles flinched. But Stiles still didn’t think it was aimed at him. Which was… confusing, right?
Maybe he should have just taken care of this himself.
“Listen,” Stiles said, catching Derek’s wrist and starting to push himself up. “I have a first aid kit at home too. I didn’t mean— I should have gone there. I didn’t mean to interrupt your evening, dude.”
Derek blinked at him. Stiles tried to duck around the man but then Derek was pulling him back and sitting him right back down. Stiles stared dumbly at the man’s face.
“Dude—”
“Don’t call me dude.”
“Derek—”
“Just shut up, Stiles,” Derek said, although he sounded more exasperated than anything. “Shut up and let me take care of you.”
And  oh. Stiles thought maybe he should say something else but he just closed his mouth and focused on the wall over Derek’s shoulder instead, trying not to shiver at every careful touch. Because this wasn’t a thing. He was totally not overthinking this.
This was Derek Hale and Stiles Stilinski. It was pack stuff and that was all. Stiles swallowed hard and concentrated on the wall until Derek finally have him a soft look and announced himself done.
And then Stiles hightailed it out as fast as he could.
-
“I’m just saying,” Stiles said, gesturing his hands out uselessly. As if that would somehow help his argument. “Remember that one thing about orange and blue? Colors? T-shirts? All of that stuff? Well, maybe it makes a little more sense than it had three years ago now and—”
“Stiles,” Lydia said, cutting him off. “I have no idea what you’re talking about.”
“I do,” Jackson said, looking bored. Stiles startled, having nearly forgotten the asshole had been hanging around, and his heart thudded even harder when Jackson smirked. “Stilinski is in love with our Alpha.”
Stiles blinked once. Twice. Then he quickly shook his head. “I am not.”
“Oh my god,” Lydia said. “You are.”
“I am not!”
Jackson didn’t look impressed. “I can literally hear you lying, idiot.”
“Okay, that’s not fair! That’s not abiding by normal human rules. I call a sham. I call sham!”
“You can’t call a sham.”
“Yeah, well, I just did. Asshole.”
Jackson only rolled his eyes and pushed himself up, wandering back out of the kitchen. Stiles looked at Lydia pleadingly, as if she could somehow tell his idiotic brain to stop pining for grumpy-growly red-eyed werewolves, but Lydia just pursed her lips. She gave him a sympathetic look before standing too, following Jackson out.
Stiles sat in the silence feeling a little bit like an idiot. And since when did Jackson actually know or listen to him?
Then he heard the sound of the loft door opening, closing, and promptly cursed.
See, Stiles was pretty sure if his brain had decided to actively work against him, he could never come back to the loft again. Because Derek was so totally going to rip his throat out. Or his head off. Or maybe take one look at him, listen to his panicked beating heart, and decide that Stiles was officially kicked out of the pack.
Or something.
The point is… stiles wasn’t good at keeping things quiet. Or small. In high school, when he’d officially decided he was in love with Lydia Martin, he went to her house with a boombox. That hadn’t worked out well at all and Stiles was pretty sure things had just gone downhill from there.
So maybe, maybe, if he stayed far away from Derek Hale, he could go without embarrassing himself. Ever.
That all took a plunge off the nearest cliff when Derek came into the kitchen.
Stiles startled so hard, he almost fell off the stool. Derek paused, raising an eyebrow, and Stiles thought he would feel much safer if not for freaking werewolf super senses. That wasn’t safe at all. In fact, no part of this loft was safe at all right now.
A dozen things fell from his mouth as Stiles pushed himself up, grabbing his backpack and laptop, but then Derek was stepping in front of him before Stiles could escape out the door. The man looked confused.
“Stiles, what’s wrong with you?”
“Wrong with who? With me? Nothing’s wrong! Nothing’s wrong, ever, and I really need to get going.”
“Do you have somewhere to be?”
“No. I mean yes! I have many places to be. Many, many places.”
Derek actually looked concerned now and Stiles was certain that wasn’t good for anyone. He tried ducking around Derek again but the man stepped in front of every escape he tried to make. Stiles growled in frustration, giving the man a flat look, and meant to say something useful. Something like ‘get out of the freaking way, Sourwolf.’
But instead, all that came out was, “There’s this thing. The idea of the fall.”
Nope, that wasn’t right.
Derek gave him an odd look and Stiles cursed, trying to just manhandle his way by. But he was one-hundred and forty-seven pounds of pale skin and fragile bone, and Derek was a werewolf. He’d never really had a chance.
Stiles still tried. And then somehow found himself backed up against the counter.
“Derek—”
“What’s wrong with you?”
“Nothing,” Stiles said, looking anywhere but his face. Or chest. Or maybe just— “Nothing at all. Can I go, please?”
“Really, Stiles?”
“I just… Can we please pretend I never said that? Like, any of that. Like anything. Ever. In my life. I don’t know what you’re talking about Derek, I’m not in love with you!"
Oh. Nope. That wasn’t right either.
Derek straightened, looking at him with wide eyes, and Stiles kind of wished it was possible to melt into the floor. Instead, he just stared miserably at his feet and waited for the inevitable. The coming ‘get out of my loft’ that was bound to happen. Except, the inevitable never came.
Slowly, he glanced back up. And Derek didn’t look like anything but relieved.
“God, Stiles. Finally.”
Had he— Stiles had missed something. He’d missed so many things.
He was pretty sure he was staring with a mouth half-hanging open and Derek carefully pulled his backpack and laptop from his hands. Setting them aside, gentle hands moved to cup Stiles face and yup, he’d died. But then the man rolled his eyes and Stiles promptly realized he’d mumbled all of that out loud, clamping his mouth shut with a burning face.
"I didn't say anything."
“Yes, you did. And Stiles, you’re not dead.”
“Are you sure about that, big guy? Cause I might have died. I might be dead right now. Can this be heaven? Because I’d be so fine with this being heaven.”
“You’re not dead, Stiles.”
“Oh,” Stiles said, the words coming out squeaky. “I’m dreaming then?”
Derek shook his head, thumb brushing over Stiles’s cheek. And maybe this was a hallucination instead. Was it a possible hallucination?
“You tell me,” Derek said. “If this feels like a hallucination.”
Stiles blinked at him, brain stalling for a second. And then the man’s lips were on his own and Stiles’s brain logged fully offline. Stiles.exe had stopped working. Possibly for the next few hours or so. Possibly forever.
Because Derek Hale was kissing him. Derek Hale was kissing him and this was real. Stiles felt like the floor had opened up beneath his feet and he was falling.
There was something he’d heard once.
There was just falling. The idea of the fall. Stiles thought it had to start somewhere.
And at the same time, he thought the bottom might not be so much of an impending doom. Not as much as realizing that maybe, maybe, Derek Hale was falling right alongside him.
God, what a cliche.

hello beautiful people! hope you're fine. I wanted to know if you have any fic where stiles and derek love each other but derek (or stiles, but preferably Derek) is just too stubborn to admit it and there is a lot of angst and pining.
thank you!
Hi anon. @kevaaronday found this for you!
Tumblr media
Trust me by madsmeetsmisha (23/23 | 43882 | Explicit | Sterek) Derek Hale needed a nanny for his kids. Someone who knew about werewolves, someone who was persistent enough not to throw in the sponge as soon as the kids wouldn't behave, someone trustworthy. Could a young, very talkative man like Stiles Stilinski be what Derek was looking for?
Summerblink by Thomaddicted (7/7 | 33,193 | Not Rated | Sterek) Young Derek Hale first met Little Stiles Stilinski 15 years ago on the beach, at the Hale family resort. For five summers, they were friends. Then one day, they weren't.
Ten years later, The Stilisnkis have returned, and with it, an entire host of unanswered questions and unresolved (If not a bit uncomfortable) feelings that seemed inappropriate then, but are resolvable now.
Love isn’t Linear by CaitliNation (7/7 | 26,882 | Explicit | Sterek) “If I had a hypothetical boyfriend, uh… would that hypothetical boyfriend be allowed to stay with us hypothetically this Christmas? You know, if you wanted to meet my hypothetical boyfriend hypothetically?”
There’s a long pause from his dad as if he’s trying to process his son’s jargon but is failing wholeheartedly.
“What,” he finally replies flatly. Stiles lets out a groan.
“Don’t make me say it again!”
I found you hidden in plain sight (why’d I take so long?) by Goergeousgreymatter (7/7 | 25,419 | Explicit | Sterek) Stiles is pretty sure he’s hallucinating.
The Stilinski Pack by TheRealDanniX (10/10 | 18,449 | Mature | Sterek) The Hales didn't go far after the fire and they took Peter with them. Ten years later they come back to Beacon Hills and find a new pack. The Stilinski pack lead by their human Alpha.
What did you just call me? By Written_prose_things (7/7 | 16,077 | Gen | Sterek) When an unknown hunter walks into Beacon Hills, Derek goes into Over Protective Alpha mode. Everyone gets puts into groups, which they're supposed to stick with at all times.
Stiles gets stuck with Derek. Ya know, The Alpha He Has A Crush On.
Over the next three days, they both realise exactly how much fun their normal life can be as well.
Nine Kinds of Silence by suburbanmotel (1/1 | 8,443 | Mature | Sterek) This was how it usually went — Stiles talking, Derek not talking.
Derek was used to it, the endless spill of words pooling between them, filling the cracks and chasms of silence. He told everyone it drove him crazy, but that was mostly a lie. If you asked him on a good day, he might even say he liked it. It was the quiet that unnerved him, the gaping Stiles’ shaped holes of space where the words were supposed to go, that he didn’t know how to handle.
But If I Know You (I Know What You’ll Do) by notahousebutatomb (1/1 | 7,339 | Teen | Sterek) The two intermingled packs approached the gym doors with caution, Scott and Derek in the lead for safety. In the middle of the basketball court stood a tall, slender woman draped in a long black cloak. Two dark horns protruded from the top of her head, partially obscured by her wild black hair. Her lips curled into a smug grin when she saw their expressions of obvious dismay.
“You poor, simple fools, thinking you could defeat me, the Mistress of All Evil! Well…” The witch swept her sleeve aside to reveal Stiles. The pale teen was sprawled across the ground, his face partially obscured where it rested against his elbow. His other arm was tucked snugly against his chest, supporting his slumped torso. The witch smirked when she added, “Here’s your precious human.”
A Promise Like This by whentheywrite (1/1 | 6,037 | Gen | Sterek) “Oh my god,” Stiles said, taking the offered bag Derek had brought that night. The moment he opened it, the best smell in the world came wafting out and Stiles moaned. “Curly fries. Oh my god, Sourwolf, I want to marry you.”
In a split second, Derek’s face had gone from neutrally blank to bright red. Except Stiles was much too busy digging the container of fries out to really notice.
He might have been a little intrigued if he had.
OR
Five times Stiles sort of accidentally proposed and the one time he might have meant it.
Stormy Nights Make The Best Hot Chocolate by FogDog1738 (1/1 | 4,070 | Mature | Sterek) Stiles gets anxiety from a storm during the night and Derek comes to check on him. Things are worse than they both wanted them to be, but eventually turn into a night of mutually coming out.
heart/beats by Galaxy_Collector (1/1 | 2,568 | Gen | Sterek) Character A [Stiles] gets the flu while the rest of the gang are away fighting supernatural enemies. Character B [Derek] comes to check on him. Oh, and he's failed to mention that Character A is his mate. But don't worry, Character C [Melissa McCall] totally (and unintentionally!) rats him out.

Season 1, Episode 2: Second Chance at Fist Line (Part One)
Hey there beautiful reader! If you’re new here, this is a series I’m writing where each chapter is an episode from the first season of Teen Wolf. If you’ve been here before, hey! I missed you! Previous and future chapters are linked at the end of each part if you want to catch up.
Pairing: Stiles x Psychic! Reader (eventually)
P.S. Scott and Stiles fail at whispering and Y/N is too nosy for her own good
Tumblr media
                                                     -----------------
I walked into the high school with Allison by my side. The two of us had gotten so much closer over the course of the last two weeks of us being here in Beacon Hills. We had a lot in common, since we both grew up moving almost every year. I was finally starting to feel comfortable. I felt like I had friends again. Things were looking up.
Since mom was working weird hours, Allison had been letting me ride with her in the mornings. She only lived a few minutes from me, so it wasn’t too much trouble. Her dad was a really nice guy, and I enjoyed our daily chats. We stopped at our lockers before heading to English, and I noticed a change in her almost immediately.
“What’s wrong?” I got the rest of my books for the day and shut my locker.
She slowly pulled out a black blazer and we both stared at it in confusion. It was the one she’d worn to Lydia’s party last weekend. The one she left in Derek’s car after he took us home.
“How...?”
She’d texted me in a frenzy after realizing it was gone. It was her favorite, and she knew she’d never see it again since we didn’t plan on making hanging out with him a habit. But now it was here. In her locker. At school.
Just then, Scott approached us, looking frazzled. He was staring right at the fabric in her hands.
“Where’d you get that?” He practically demanded. Allison stiffened under his intense stare.
“My jacket? It was in my locker. I think Lydia brought it back from the party. She has my combination, so...” She trailed off, clearly not understanding why he was freaking out. I had no idea either. It was just a jacket.
“Did she say she brought it back? Or did somebody give her the jacket?” His brown eyes were wide with horror as his voice rose. Weird.
“Like who?” Allison glanced my way and Scott immediately did the same, as if just realizing I was beside her.
“Like Derek.” I could see the panic rising behind his eyes as he spat the name.
I stilled. Derek? How did he know he was involved?
“Your friend?” I chimed in, trying to make sense of his odd behavior and calm him down subtly. Derek had said they were friends.
“He’s not my friend.” Scott insisted. “How much did you guys talk to him when he drove you home?”
Allison took a couple steps back, looking scared. I mean, he was acting a little erratically. He seemed to really dislike this Derek guy, which confirmed my suspicion that they weren’t actually friends. But why lie? And why drive us home?
“I actually have to get to class...” She muttered before grabbing my hand to drag me down the hallway with her. It wasn’t a very good excuse, since we share the class with him, but I spared her the reminder.
“Still want to go to the game tomorrow?” I asked once we were out of his earshot.
She just rolled her eyes.
                                                  ———————
I walked through the hospital, holding a box of Chinese food in one hand and a coke in the other. It was just after school and I promised mom I’d bring her dinner. She’d been working since four this morning. The shifts they were giving her were insane, but I guess it’s because she’s new. She has to prove herself before they’ll give her daytime hours.
I dropped the food off at her station and gave her a quick hug to get her through the next few hours. Being a nurse is brutal. I didn’t know much about my mom’s job, but I knew I could never do it. On my way toward the exit, I noticed Lydia sitting in one of the blue waiting chairs. Standing next to her, looking awkward as hell, was Stiles.
Yeah, I’d learned that the weird not-word he’d spit out at her party was actually his name. Oops. One of his arms was propped up against the white and navy wall, while the other rested on his hip. He was wearing what I now knew was his signature outfit. A pair of jeans and a graphic t-shirt with a flannel over top. I had to admit it only added to his boyish charm.
Lydia pulled a Bluetooth earpiece out of her ear and gestured toward him lazily. “Hold on, gimme a second. I didn’t hear anything you just said. Is it worth repeating?”
He stared at her for a moment, dumbfounded. He made a strangled noise in the back of his throat before swallowing thickly. “Uh, no. Sorry.”
She huffed awkwardly as he slid away from her. He pointed at her, then a chair just around the corner.
“I’m gonna sit—you don’t care.” His eyes flickered to me for a fleeting moment and I could’ve sworn I saw his cheeks turning red. To make matters worse, he picked up an educational brochure about the menstrual cycle before plopping into the chair.
“Hey Lydia, what are you doing here?” I greeted, pulling her attention to me.
She smiled kindly, but immediately rolled her eyes. “Didn’t you hear? Jackson has a separated shoulder. Someone—,” She glared in Stiles’ direction. “Took practice too far.”
Oh yeah, I almost forgot the about the rumor going around that Scott lost it during practice today. Apparently, he’d gotten way too aggressive. Stiles’ head popped out from around the corner. “That actually wasn’t...yeah, okay.”
He retreated with a simple look from Lydia. Man, do people really find her that intimidating? Maybe it was because I was friends with her now, but she was just a teenager like the rest of us. Snobby and stuck up, sure. But scary? Not really.
Jackson emerged from the room across the hall and Lydia stood up expectantly. “Did he do it?”
“He said not to make a habit of it, but one cortisone shot won’t kill me.” He rubbed at his shoulder with a grimace. I felt a little bad for the guy. Lacrosse was everything to him, as sad as that was.
“You should get one right before the game, too.” He glowered at her and she stomped a heel on the tile. “The pros do it all the time. You wanna be a little high school amateur? Or do you wanna go pro?”
She pulled him in for a kiss and I looked away. I did not need to see that in a public place. Or anywhere for that matter. They walked away without so much as a goodbye and I was about to do the same before I saw Scott walking toward me briskly.
“Holy God.” Stiles shrieked as Scott ripped the menstrual cycle brochure out of his hands.
“The scent was the same.” He sounded breathless, like he’d run the whole way here.
I silently slipped into the chair Lydia had just been occupying and pulled out my phone as a cover.
“Are you sure?” I saw Stiles bolt to his feet in my peripheral.
“Yes.” Scott huffed, and they stared at each other for a moment, processing this information. Whatever it meant.
Stiles threw a hand up in exasperation. “So he did bury the other half of the body on his property.”
My eyes widened in shock and I looked around to see if anyone else had heard that. Luckily, it didn’t seem like it. Why the hell were they talking about this stuff in front of other people? And what scent? What body? What property?
“Which means we have proof he killed the girl.”
Wait. Killed? What are they talking about? Who are they talking about?
“I say we use it.” Stiles started walking away, but Scott grabbed his shoulder.
“How?”
“Tell me something first. Are you doing this because you want to stop Derek or because you want to play in the game and he said you couldn’t?”
I choked on my spit at the sound of that name. A hand came up to soothe my throat and I put my phone up to my ear before turning away from the boys quickly. I waited a few seconds before slowly rotating back. They were talking about Derek? They thought he killed someone and buried half of the body on his property?
Wait...half? Were they talking about that body the hikers found the first week of school?
“There were bite marks on the leg, Stiles. Bite marks.” Scott was whispering now, seemingly more aware of our surroundings.
“Okay, then we’re gonna need a shovel.”
Their voices disappeared. I peered around the corner and saw them practically running out the front doors. My mind was racing with everything I’d just heard. Bite marks...scents...Derek...a killer? He was creepy, sure, but I don’t know if he could kill someone. Although, I only met the guy once. But, why would Scott and Stiles care, anyway?
I had to get to the bottom of this, and soon.

A/N: The Alpha pack doesn't come until later, Erica and Boyd stayed, Jackson never left
You were sat on the couch in Derek Hale's loft in between Scott and Stiles as Derek was explaining to you the supernatural, after your initial doubt that was dismissed from Derek and Scott shifting in front of you.
They were explaining a thing called a 'Kanima' to you and talking about someone in the pack named Jackson who was one and how apparently you were the same thing.
"So I haven’t been just blacking out? I was bitten by a Werewolf and started turning but something went wrong? I keep waking up in random places because when I fall asleep I seek a master, and it just happens to be Stiles who found me." You sum up as Stiles tries not to look at you.
"Yeah, but if we can find out what the problem was that made you into a Kanima, we can make you into a Werewolf!" Scott says enthusiastically as Derek sighs.
"Jackson solved his but he's still part Kanima, it doesn't just go away but you are able to shift into either" Derek explains.
"I forgot about that." Scott says as his cheeks get a little red and slides down in his seat next to you.
You put your hand on Scott's, giving it a small squeeze and him a smile. "It's alright, As long as Stiles is my master I should be fine." You turn to Stiles and grab his hand this time "Right, Stiles? I'll protect you and you can save me." You say while he looks at you surprised.
"Yeah! We'll turn you into a real Werewolf without the freaky eyes and scales!" Stiles says over enthusiastically.
"Stiles!" Derek yells, eyes glowing red as Scott lets out a quiet whine at the Alpha's authority as Stiles flinches and you stand up, scales appearing on your arms and face.
You startle at the sight of your scaled arm and stare down at it in shock as Derek's red eyes focus on you, his stance just a little more defensive than before with his claws out.
Stiles stands and places a hand on your shoulder and starts sitting back down, the light pressure he applies as he moves is enough to make you move with him. “Hey hey, it’s OK. He just wanted me to be more serious, he won’t hurt me.”
You look between Derek and Stiles then down at your hands “I want to believe that, it’s just you got startled and when you got startled...I guess I saw Derek as a threat?” You say as you start leaning more on Stiles.
Derek began speaking before Stiles could launch into any explanation or theory. “It doesn’t matter, what matters is that Stiles needs to make sure he keeps his emotions in check and you need to control your urges.” Derek says as his claws go back in and eyes fade.
“My emotions are fine!” “What urges?” You and Stiles say at the same time causing Derek to sigh and Scott to chuckle.
“I think he means that Y/N needs to make sure he acts human.” Scott says gesturing to you as everyone's attention swivels to Scott. “And that you, Stiles, don’t get angry at anyone otherwise Y/N might think of it as an attack command” Scott explains as you think about it for a second.
“I mean, I don’t really know what’s going on but that makes sense. If Derek yelling can cause me to shift then what would happen if Stiles was really angry at someone?” You say, glancing at Derek as Stiles looks at you with fake hurt.
“I don’t have emotional problems.” Stiles mutters.
“But you might if you control a Kanima, remember what we found? Eventually, you start to act as one being.” Derek points out.
“Well, all of that aside, I need something to drink." You clap as you stand up, causing all eyes to focus on you. "What are we going to do about my living situation by the way? I don't exactly have anywhere to go." You say as you stretch a little, starting to wander to the kitchen area of Derek's loft as Scott gets up to follow with a quick 'I want a drink's and Derek rolls his eyes.
"You can stay here, my betas already do." Derek says as you disappear into the fridge.
"What's a beta?" You ask as Scott pauses in bringing the soda can you handed him to his lips to ask "Wait they live here?"
Derek somehow manages to look even more annoyed as he answers "Yes, they live here and I'll explain more about werewolves later." You fake pout before Stiles speaks up from his place on the couch.
"The Alpha is the leader of the pack, the betas are those who the Alpha bites, have born into or join the pack. So Derek is this pack's Alpha, and Scott is a beta who joined Derek's pack." Stiles explains, surprisingly short from what you can tell by what you know and Derek's raised eyebrows.
"That is…" Derek starts saying before pausing for a second "a surprisingly short but accurate way to put it." He finishes as Stiles puts a hand on his chest as if he were hurt, muttering a quiet but offended 'dude'.
"Which means that you would be a beta, like me, when we turn you into a werewolf" Scott emphasizes from next to you by the island before the two could start bickering about being called 'dude'
"So how did you fix the other Kanima? Jackson, right?" You ask, looking at Scott as they glance around at each other, Derek being the one to speak up right as you took a drink.
"We killed it"
You choke on your drink as Scott hits your back. "I thought you said he was fine!"
"After we killed him" Stiles says and you glare at him.
"Not helping! I don't have a true love or whatever! The closest thing is thinking that Derek is hot and Stiles is cute!" You yell as Derek's eyebrows shoot up.
"You think I'm hot?"
"You think I'm cute?"
"NOT IMPORTANT" you reply loudly as you turn to Scott. "They kill me, and I'll… I don't know but I'm threatening tall and broody's pecs" You say as Scott laughs, ignoring Derek's shocked 'what?' and Stiles' laughter
"I don't think you'll need to haunt anyone, it'll take some time but we'll figure everything out. Until we do though I think you should stay here and Stiles visits."
Stiles manages to stop his laughter enough to give his agreement, albeit reluctant because of the emotional tether you two have.
Derek pauses and tilts his head in thought before speaking up.
"Actually, that's a good idea, I can have Jackson show Y/N on how to control the Kanima aspect of things." Derek says as he looks from you to Stiles. "Then while you're at school Jackson can help you feel for Y/N using that bond. Good thinking, Scott."
Scott perked up next to you and smiled at the praise, causing you to chuckle as Stiles starts talking.
"Wait. Won't Y/N try to follow me? Or come to me when he falls asleep and turns into a Kanima!" Stiles yells, gesturing to you with flailing arms. "What do we do about that!" Stiles argues as you give him a look.
You gesture to all of them with a wave from your hand holding the soda. "Can't you guys just lock me up somewhere? Restrain me or something?" You ask as Stiles stands up so fast you get dizzy from it.
"Mountain ash!" Stiles yells as he turns to Derek. "I can make a barrier in a room once he's in it until I get back or when he goes to sleep, that way he can't get out, just like with Jackson at the club!"
"Wait what's mountain ash and how is trapping me?" You ask Derek as he starts walking over to one of the cabinets and looking into before calling Stiles over
"We'll show you." Derek says, motioning you closer as Stiles opens the top of a jar that had what you assumed was mountain ash in it. "Go ahead, Stiles"
"What's he doing?" You ask as you look over to Scott.
"They aren't going to hurt you, promise" Scott reassures as he moves next to Stiles while he makes a wide circle around you out of the mountain ash.
"Here, now try touching me" Stiles says, taking a couple steps back from the circle.
"Ummm, OK?" You say, taking a step towards Stiles, and in turn the barrier with an outstretched hand.
You jump back when your hand hits an invisible  barrier, making little blue ripples where your hand touched before they settled like water in a pond would.
"What the hell was that?" You yell, looking at everyone and seeing none of them are freaking out like you are.
The only explanation you are given, courtesy of Derek, is a very simple "Supernaturals can't cross mountain ash."
You raise an eyebrow at Derek. “So you're telling me that some magic fairy dust is able to keep me locked up? This just keeps getting weirder” You mumble the last part as Stiles snorts and breaks the circle.
Stiles laughs when you cautiously poke at the line as Derek starts walking to another cabinet. “More or less, It’s a way to keep you contained without actually hurting you.” Stiles explains as he nudges more of it away and guides you out. “This way we can just line a room and you’ll have some comfort and be able to be left alone without us worrying you’ll escape, it’s the safer and nicer option” Stiles explains to you as you put just a little more distance between you and the mountain ash.
“As opposed to what, exactly?” You ask as you hear a little rattle and turn to where Derek was making noise and see him holding shackles and cuffs, he gives you a little smirk and raises his eyebrows in a questioning ‘Want these instead’ manner. You opt to hide behind Scott and use him as a shield “Still threatening him, don’t know with what yet but know it’s a threat.” You grumble as your shield laughs.
“I think the mountain will be fine” Scott says as Derek gives the metal one more jingle to taunt you before stuffing them back wherever they came from.
“Yeah, me too” You say quickly from behind Scott.
You get tugged away from your shield by Stiles as he moves back to the couch he was sat in earlier with you ending up laying down with your head in his lap. “Either way, we still need to find out who bit Y/N and why he became a Kanima.” Stiles says as Derek grunts and takes a seat by the large table at the window while Scott goes back to the kitchen seat he was in.
“What do you remember, Y/N” Derek asks you as Stiles plays with your hair while you try to resist the urge to just melt against his hand.
“Only my first name… I think it’s my name at least” You answer hesitantly. “It’s hard to explain… Think of a computer, it’s like I know the information is on it somewhere but it’s hidden and you need a password to make it appear but someone else made the password.” You explain as Derek sighs and leans back in his chair.
“Anything else?” Derek asks as he holds his hand over his eyes, probably preparing for a headache.
“A phrase? Even a scent or a sound?” Scott asks as you think for a second.
“Actually, yeah” You say, causing Derek to look back at you and Stiles to stop playing with your hair for a second. “Keep doing that.” you mutter to Stiles before speaking for everyone to hear you. “I don’t remember where it’s from or why I know it but here. ‘He who desires but acts not, breeds pestilence’... mean anything to you?” You ask as Stiles pauses again, making you whine.
He resumes playing with your hair as he answers. “That sounds like it might be your reason for being a Kanima.”

A/N: This picks up right where part 1 left off. I had a lot of fun writing this part so I hope you guys enjoy it! (Not my GIF)
Pairings: Stiles Stilinski x OC Raven Connors (Hood)
Warnings: mild violence
Italics= thoughts
ΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩ
Raven stirs into consciousness. She wakes up and finds herself in what looks like a cell. But it's no ordinary cell. It has a plexiglass window with drill holes across the center. All white walls and floor with an all white metal frame bed and a small, white table and chair. She looks around, trying to figure out where she is. Instead of calling out for anyone, she tries to teleport, but can't seem to make it work and gets a zap of electricity. She then tries phasing through it and not only gets zapped again, but is actually thrown against the wall, knocking over the table and chair. As she gets up again, she sees handcuffs on her wrists, but they weren't like any she had seen before. These were new age, tech handcuffs.
She goes from confused to angry. She grabs the chair and smashes it against the window, thinking the glass would break, but all that happens is the chair breaks into bits. She looks around, still furious and props the corner of the table leg under the glass and uses all her weight to force it up so she can push the window out of place, but that doesn't work either.
She looks around, yet again, but this time to see if she can find a way to get her cuffs unlocked. She finds a nail from the chair and tries to use it to unlock the cuffs, but gets shocked again. She throws the nail and screams in frustration and irritation of being stuck.
She hears a mischievous laugh come from across the room. She looks ahead and sees a dark haired boy wearing a long, green jacket and a sadistic smirk in the cell across from her.
"What are you laughing at?" She asks annoyed as she sits on her knees.
"Oh nothing," he laughs again. "Just truly entertained by your stupidity really. I haven't seen anything this entertaining in a long time." He continues.
"What the hell are you talking about?" She gets increasingly annoyed.
"Those cuffs you have on? They're the brainchild of Whittmore Industries. They prevent any powers from being used and are completely impenetrable… you're not goin' anywhere, Sweetheart." He answered slyly, picking up his head so she can look into his deep brown eyes.
Just as she is about to ask him how he knew all this, the metal door in the room rises open automatically, and in steps, two tall men. One has stubble and thick dark eyebrows wearing a leather jacket and jeans. The other is significantly taller and younger looking and has curly, light brown hair and is wearing a scarf. They come up to Raven's cell and eyebrows guy punches in some numbers on a number pad. The plexiglass window slides to the side automatically. Eyebrows signals to her with two fingers to step forward. Raven, though weary, complies.
"Out that door." Scarf boy points to the door they just came in from.
She walks forward down a dark corridor, being guided by the two men who let her out of the cell. How am I gonna get outta this one? She thinks as she has a second nail from the chair hidden in her sleeve.
They suddenly make a turn. Scarf boy places his hand on a digital palm reader and another automatic metal door opens. Leading to what looks like a meeting room. It has a long, sleek, glass table with 12 sleek, black chairs aligning it and a small area with burgundy counters and a see through fridge with some black couches around a glass coffee table. Eyebrows grabs a chair and places it behind Raven as Scarf makes her sit down. An elevator dings and in comes nine other people. All superheroes by the looks of it. One she immediately recognizes. Spider-Man.
One of them walks up to her. Captain America. She knew who he was. She'd seen him on the news, along with his friends. He takes off his helmet and sets the helmet and shield on the table next to him.
"Derek, Isaac, I got it from here." He motions them to back off, which they comply to as he speaks. He looks really young. Maybe 16 or 17. He smiles at her. His jaw is crooked, but his smile is bright. He quickly looks down at her hands then looks back at her with a friendly smile.
"It's a safety precaution." He reassures.
"You think I'm that dangerous?" She scoffs
"Not our safety… Your safety." Answers some guy in a power suit. She recognizes him too… Jackson. Fucking. Whittmore…  Richest douchebag Beacon Hills had to offer.
"Right," she scoffs again, adjusting her position to a more comfortable, laid back one with a smirk on her face. "Like you all could really stop me from leaving." She continues.
"If it's so easy for you to leave, then break out of the cuffs." Jackson snapped back. Her smirk gets wiped away instantly."Go on, do it. Right now, show us all how big and bad you are." He continues, crossing his arms and leaning up against the wall.
"Enough, Whittmore!" Captain America called out with a tone of authority.
Jackson stopped talking, but Raven stayed in her relaxed position. He turned back to her.
"I apologize for… him. He doesn't do well with guests." He puts his hand out for a handshake.
"I'm Scott McCall. You might know me as Captain America. Pleased to meet you Miss…" he trails off questionably, waiting for her to introduce herself.
"Hood. Just call me Hood, okay?" She answers back almost sharp. "I don't like people knowing my real name." She continues. She doesn't shake back.
"Okay, Hood it is." He replies cheerfully, forgetting about the handshake.
"Would you mind explaining to me what the hell I'm doing here? And who was that guy in the cell across from me? Am I under arrest or something?" She asks in rapid fire.
A girl with a bow and arrows on her back walks up next to Scott, arms crossed. "We will answer all your questions later, but you're here, because we've been watching you. We think you could be beneficial to our team."
"Yeah? And could I be beneficial?" Raven asks, using air quotes on the last word.
"You have abilities that can help us on stealth missions. When we need to spy. When we need to be somewhere in seconds." The girl answers.
Raven nods her head. Her mouth turned down, she looks down then back up to the girl. "Mhm… so you want me to be your mole?"
The girl and Scott look at each other. Before any of them can say anything, Raven speaks up. "Look, I don't know what any of you thought I'd say, but after what I just went through, I absolutely, will not, be helping you, or anyone for that matter." She stands up and clears her throat. "So, good day, Avengers." She turns and walks away to the door, but stops right in front of it, turning her head slightly to the side so she can see through her peripheral vision.
"By the way, who was it that hit me in the alley?" She asks calmly.
"That would be Allison, here." Scott answers, pointing to the girl next to him with his thumb.
Raven nods. Then turns and throws the handcuffs and hits Allison directly in the forehead, zapping her and knocking her to the ground so quickly, nobody knows what just happened. Derek lunges at her with a fearsome roar and metal claws out, but she's not phased. She, in fact, phases through him, making him fall face first. Isaac runs towards her in a blur, but she blends with the shadow of the room, throwing him off. As he looks around for her, suddenly, she grabs the back of his cardigan and pulls it over his head, making him flip and fall flat on his back while she snatches his scarf.
Scott comes at her, shield in hand. He charges at her, but she jumps and bounces off of it with a backflip and kicks Allison in the face before she can get back up and uses the scarf to wrap it around Scott's hand when he throws a punch. She takes it and flips him over her shoulder. Jackson runs towards her, armoring up, but she throws the chair she was once sitting in at him and takes his feet out from under him, falling on his face, then she charges at the rest of the group.
She stops in front of the last five. A tall man with dark brown hair who looks slightly older than the rest, cracks his neck and yells "Flame on!" He bursts into flames as a tall, thin girl with short brown hair hits her fists together and they flame as well. A shorter boy with brown hair and piercing blue eyes starts to grow bigger and greener and roars loudly as his shirt starts to rip off his body. A girl with long, strawberry blonde hair moves her hands in some weird motions and things start glowing red and floating around her. Raven looks at them and raises an eyebrow with a smirk on her face.
"This is gonna be fun." She remarks as she cracks her knuckles and smirks. Hulk came charging first. He goes to grab her, but she grabs his wrist and swings herself on it and jumps on his back, making it difficult for him to grab her. As she's climbing his back, Human Torch blasted flames at her, she made Hulk turn and get hit in the face with the flames. Hulk falls to his knees as he holds his face. Captain Marvel comes at Raven, but Raven kicks her in the face so hard, she goes flying back, hitting Scarlet Witch and knocking her down, making her lose her concentration. She flips off of Hulk's back, knocking him to the ground, spins in the air and lands on one knee.
She looks up and sees a familiar face. Spider-Man. He's ready to throw down, but she's ready to let him down easy. Something about him made her not want to fight him. He shoots a web at her, but she teleports behind him, but not before getting a good grip of the web. She had the web in her hand and wraps it around him, making him fall onto his butt. She teleports in front of him.
"Sorry Spidey boy, but this initiation was never gonna work out. I like to fly solo." she remarks with a smirk.
Before he can say anything, a fog of smoke flashes before him, and she's gone. He uses all his strength to break from his own webs as everyone else gets up, rubbing their heads or nursing an aching joint.
"Impenetrable cuffs, huh?" Spider-Man asks sarcastically as he looks at Jackson, who shoots him a dirty look as he rubs his head.

1-4 What the fuck is a true alpha? A recurring joke? A convenient plot armor? A desperate attempt to make an irrelevant character look ‘relevant’ despite canon showing otherwise? Scott/Posey Stans think that Scott McCall has a right to command and dictate everyone’s life because he is a tWuE aLpAhA; Scott has a right to play judge, jury & executioner with his “inferior” friends, and he has a right to determine what is wrong or right based on his own benefit and bigoted black and white mentality.
2-4 If you think that this sounds an awful lot like the Divine Right of Kings, you are absolutely right. An unearned (and undeserved) mystical superiority or blessing, a fabricated sense of purity, goes a long way in ameliorating Scott McCall’s Failures and Fuck-ups. And like kings who rule by Divine Right, he can do as he likes. Which is why Scott can patronize and lie to Allison and Kira to control them, assault Isaac and Jackson due to his own pathological jealousy and possessiveness,
3-4 use Hayden (Liam’s girlfriend) as bait against the Dread Doctors without her consent to play the hero, dehumanize Stiles and accuse Stiles of being a violent, dangerous, inhuman monster and serial killer for daring to accidentally kill his abuser in self-defense, sell Derek and his Pack to the hunters, refuse to tell his girlfriend Allison the truth about her mother’s death to look ‘good’ in her eyes,
4-4 plot/conspire with Gerard Argent and Deaton behind everyone’s back to violate Derek Hale’s boundaries, bodily autonomy and consent for his own benefit, claim that the Argents had a reason to slaughter the Hales (including HUMANS and CHILDREN) in front of Derek Hale and of his comatose uncle – and then Scott/Posey Stans will consider everyone kicking Scott’s whiny, toxic excuse of an ass to the curb and not giving an utter crap when Scott died in Season 5 as an act equivalent of treason
I put all your asks together so I didn’t get confused (which is v likely to happen) and I thank you for numbering them for me. <3
The concept of a true alpha...sigh. Look, I see the intention, okay? I see the goal, the idea that you don’t have to kill someone to become an Alpha. That there can be “Good” Alphas who haven’t killed anyone. But I also think it’s lazy writing. This is one the few instances where TW hadn’t actually shot themselves in the foot yet. They gave us so little information on werewolves that they never actually said that the only way to become an Alpha was by killing another Alpha. They could very easily have said “Also, you can become an Alpha this other way” (Be it by passing the Alpha spark down to children willingly, or being beaten in a special kind of combat, or through a ritual of some kind)
But they didn’t just want another way to be the Alpha. They wanted a way that didn’t take any effort. It would be too hard to introduce another Alpha that would give up their spark to Scott, or to have him put in the effort to do a ritual. They needed a way to make Scott an Alpha without any additional effort. Part of me honestly wonders if they did it because they knew they’d lost a lot of Scott fans by the end of Season 2, what with all of his betrayals and lies and what he did to Derek. They needed a way to reaffirm that Scott was the good guy, so they made up the True Alpha thing and said “Look! He’s so pure and goodhearted and he has so much good will, that he can’t even help but become an Alpha”
They demonized werewolves by reducing them to murderers who had to kill for power (In Derek’s case it was survival, and i’ll fight for him.) and then held Scott up as a saint because he managed it without killing.
Except that he had killed. Or at least tried to kill. How could he be this pure person they claimed if he spent weeks poisoning a cancer patient, lying to everyone around him, and he took Pleasure in it. He was Proud of himself for his lies and his tricks and for getting back at Derek by hurting him. That’s the kind of behavior we expect from Stiles, who is established as a morally gray character. You cannot have Scott do something like that and then make the claim that he is morally pure.
Once Scott finds out from Morrell that killing someone will take away his True Alpha status, he goes out of his way to avoid killing people even when it puts others at risk. This ISN’T an Avatar moment, okay? He doesn’t summon the power of his ancestors and render the villains completely incapable of harm. He just fucking lets them go! Deucalion gets his fucking eyesight back for fuck’s sake. He was MORE dangerous than before and they let him go! (I know Derek was part of that, but I’m pretty sure Derek was possessed by a pod person by that point)
He never said he’d behave. No one checked on him or watched to make sure he didn’t hurt anyone. They just let him leave. He could’ve just rebuilt a new Alpha pack. Could’ve killed dozens more people.
Jennifer would have too, had Peter not killed her.
Even better, he brings Ethan and Aiden into his pack. They walked right up to him and told him “Everyone is hunting for us because we killed a ton of people” and he just took them in? Gave them protection from the families of the people they’d slaughtered? All because they followed him around for a bit and said “We’ll only kill for you from now on.”
And this is why I get so frustrated about the blue eyes. The concept of ‘taking an innocent life’ is so fucking vague? Scott is indirectly responsible for countless deaths throughout the show. Whether by inaction or because the people doing the killing were acting on his orders, or whatever the fuck else I can’t think of at the moment. It doesn’t matter if he hasn’t intended to kill anyone. He should not still have his True Alpha status. Period. But he does, so apparently Scott can kill as many people as he wants, actually, so long as he doesn’t do it with his own claws and teeth. Or maybe he just can’t kill a human who hasn’t killed anyone else? Who the fuck knows.
I’ll say it again. If The Alpha spark can be used to heal someone, why didn’t Scott use it to save Allison? She wasn’t cursed. She was stabbed. He could’ve done the same thing Derek did. Peter even said that it can be done on accident. All it requires is that he do the pain drain and not stop when it starts to hurt.
To be quite honest, I don’t blame Scott’s True Alpha eyes for his entitlement and his belief that he can do no wrong. He held that same notion way before his eyes ever turned red. The eyes are to blame for no one else calling him out for his actions. You’re told by the only fucking person who seems to know what’s going on in the supernatural world that this kid’s eyes turned red all on their own because he is meant to be an Alpha. That it’s because he is good and pure and it’s a sign of his worthiness. He literally was just gifted extra power, apparently because he’s the only one worthy of it. How the fuck are you supposed to deal with that? Are you supposed to be the one person who tells fucking Werewolf Jesus (technically Derek is Actual werewolf jesus what with the evolution thing, but before that Scott’s as close as it gets cus’ Peter’s just a zombie.) that he doesn’t know best? That he’s doing something wrong? If the Powers that Be made Scott an Alpha, what will they do to the one who tells him he fucked up? Everyone is just supposed to trust that Scott must be in the right. That his reasons are good enough. That he knows what’s best. Because if he doesn’t, then why the sudden Alpha eyes? Peter questions Scott often and happily, mostly because he doesn’t care if he gets struck by lightning or something. It’ll always be worth it to get that last quip in. Eventually Stiles starts to argue too, because he’s reached the point where he doesn’t care if he dies so long as everyone else important to him stops getting hurt. That’s when Scott starts cutting him out. When he stops believing Scott knows best.
And honestly, it’s like the first post I made that sparked this whole ranting binge. Scott cheats. He cheats and he uses his abilities to his advantage without ever thinking of what it does to other people. Except this time he’s not cheating at lacrosse. He’s not taking credit for bowling six strikes in a row. For some reason his eyes turned red, and everyone else is taking it as a sign that he must know better and he should be in charge, and he never disagrees.
Sure, he complains. “Why me? Why does it have to be my responsibility?”
Guess what buddy? It fucking doesn’t. If you stopped fucking ordering people around and admitted you don’t know what you’re doing to someone besides your MOM and you want someone else to take the lead? THEY WOULD. But because he will not admit any kind of weakness or that he isn’t sure what to do, he puts the weight on himself. He blames everyone else for the lead weights he tied around his waist. He doesn’t want to have to do the work, but he hates the idea of someone else being in charge. Of not being important. We’re told right off the bat that Scott wants to be important. He wants to be on first line not because he loves the game, but because he wants to be popular. He wants Allison to go out with him. This is just another way he wants to be important, and he won’t ever let go of it. He gives orders and makes calls on who gets to know what and who is worthy and won’t take responsibility for the failures, but happily takes credit for the successes. When he fucks up by not talking to people or by lying to them or making a bad call, he doesn’t admit it. He doesn’t tell anyone. He lets them think that he’s blameless so that when he actually says shit like “I lost them” someone will say “They’ll come back because you’re their leader” No. He’s not. He lost them because he pushed them away. It was his fault.
Whatever. I’m salty. *pouts* Anyway. True Alpha is dumb, and I’ve read a couple theories about how Deaton made it up, and tbh, I’d follow that logic. If you’re curious, I think I tagged it ‘true alpha’ or ‘deaton’ on my blog.
