the fact that Drops of Jupiter, a song about supporting your best friend and accepting the path they need to take through life even while loving them unconditionally, was playing when Matt and Foggy met
This took me three days to make and is the first time I’ve ever animated anything, it was an awesome learning experience and I’m really happy it came out so good. Big thanks to Aziraphale and Crowley being my muses.
Chapter 44/?
It's only a few days before it's time for them to return to school, and less than a day until his first therapy session. Izuku's a little nervous and has no idea what to expect.
Summary: Third Year at UA is underway. Now that their final Sports Festival has come to a close, it’s time for Class 3-A to get a start on their future careers, choosing the final internships of their school days! It’s been a lot of hard work to reach this point, but none of the students show any sign of slowing down, they’re all trying to race toward the future with everything they have!
Uraraka Ochako, perhaps more than anyone, is ready for the undertaking! She’s been prepping herself for the task since she started at this school! And nothing’s going to get in her way! Hopefully, striking the proper balance of her internship, school work, and having a social life shouldn’t be too hard…probably.
Okay soooooo this is the most recently updated chapter but, admittedly, if anyone on here was following me for this fic and you aren't subscribed on Ao3, the last update I linked here through tumblr was 38. Just something to keep in mind I suppose 😂 We're on year five of my posting this story believe it or not. I certainly can't. but anyway, please enjoy!
Okay so you know how there’s multiple stories with J/H cheating together or being ‘the other person’ (including Drops of Jupiter one of my favorites!) we’ll have you ever considered writing an Eric/Donna story like that? 👀
Thanks for the ask! And for the compliment about Drops of Jupiter ❣️
To be succinct: no. I haven't considered a story where Eric and Donna are cheating on their partners with each other. I don't think I've ever read one, either.
To be less succinct: It's hard for me to envision this storyline playing out in an in-character way. I don't think either Eric or Donna would be likely to cheat on a romantic partner - not on each other, and not on someone else, either. Breaking up with or ending a relationship with someone else in order to go back to one another? Much more likely.
I have the hardest time imagining Eric cheating on a partner. This characterization comes from canon. In season 1 he "cheated" (and "cheated" is in air quotes because he did not actually cheat, because they were not actually exclusive yet... but he still knew/felt he did something wrong) on Donna by French kissing Laurie's college friend. He felt really bad about it, knew that he wouldn't be able to hide it from Donna, and immediately told her (despite his friends' advice/objections). In season 3 when Shelly was coming onto him, Eric considered cheating but did not go through with it. When she kissed him he immediately pushed her off of him and said he's in a relationship. Etc. As Hyde said, "Forget it, Forman, you're not a cheater" - and I think that would apply to any relationship he was in, not only one with Donna. So the challenge with this idea is that, to me.
I don't really see Donna cheating, either. She has morals and principles. We know, again from canon, that guys hit on her all the time and ask her out on dates, but she says no because she has a boyfriend. There's no indication she ever felt temptation to cheat on Eric, even though she would've had the opportunity. The one thing we know about Donna that might lend itself to infidelity is that she can be impulsive when she's in emotional pain. Under the exact right (or wrong :/) conditions, I could imagine Donna maybe doing something - that she would regret forever. I have a storyline about this in a WIP I may or may not ever post. 🤣
Eric and Donna cheating with each other? Intriguing. But again, I think Donna could maybe get there in a moment of impulsivity, but I am not sure about Eric. Something pretty dark would have to occur to get him to that place, I think.
Anyway, thanks for the ask anon! This was an interesting thought experiment.
to all the sapphics out there, do you confirm that we all dedicated drops of jupiter by train to that either lesbian or straight redhead (hello! literal drops of jupiter in her hair!) girl who was our gay awakening in middle/high school and was in a very homoerotic friendship with us?
