MEET MY PARENTS (W/ ALHAITHAM, DILUC SEPERATELY)

DILUC: AUTHORITARIAN PARENTS (also commonly known as, "i just want the best for you" parents)

your parents were rather worried about you, after all the man you had brought home was not a lawyer, or a doctor? how would you live with that?

you needed to get a good man, a man that would not be bankrupt any time soon.

needless to say when you brought home DILUC RAGNVINDR, known socialite and sought after bachelor, your parents were more than welcoming.

as soon as he pulled up in his fancy car, with one of his finest suits on, you knew you were in for a ride.

as soon as you welcomed in your boyfriend into your parents' home, was he bombarded with questions.

"where did you study?"

"how much do you make?"

"what are you planning to do with our child?"

"why did you choose them?

just your regular strict parents' shenanigans.

the formal dinner you organized, felt more like an interview, with every single response of his precisely calculated in their wording.

after everything he looks at you with pleading eyes as he paid the bill and left with you.

immediatly hugs you as you arrive at your home.

"felt like he was being watched by hawks."

you chuckle at his comment, as you lay down with him.

"you know, even if they don't look like it" you looked at him, "they actually really really like you."

"i mean you're serious, rich and good looking, everything up to their standard."

he smiled at the comment, after all if he wanted to marry you he would need to get your parent's approval.

AL HAITHAM: AUTHORATIVE PARENTS (also commonly known as, sane parents which love each other very much, #mommy issues)

while somewhat demanding, your parents never really asked much of you.

"just live a happy life, work hard to get what you want and always learn from your mistakes."

you were never asked to get a partner, you were never asked to settle down like this, yet you still chose to get a boyfriend.

AL HAITHAM was always a wallflower, your boyfriend smart academically, stupid socially.

he liked you, you were someone interested in the same things he was, you were someone he could lean on.

you two rode peacefully to the little quaint house your parents' resided on, as soon as you came in you were greeted with cheery smiles and laughs.

the meeting or... hangout spot was a little picnic in a nearby park. a place where you often used to hang out with old friends while sitting around telling stupid jokes while walking around.

you noticed how AL HAITHAM was reluctant to your parents' kindness, while your parents strolled around ocassionally picking up conversation with him he really didn't reciprocate.

you really got it, he wasn't much for small talk.

only ever really nodding or making small comments, chipping in with his commentary here and there.

that was until your mother asked him what he studied, things got real after that.

he looked up and started explaining his past lecture, rambling on about the foreign policies he was interested and the importance of proper storage of information and all that.

yeah needless to say, AL HAITHAM was personally invited to the next big family event by part of your parents' recomendation, he was real glad to have met them.

in reality, even though he did not show it enough, he really appreciated both you and your parents.

(A/N i used some psychology terms to explain the personalities of different parents, sorry if the personalities of these did not apply to your parents. thought this arrangement was necessary as there's no one size fits all in these type of fics.)

Absolutely!! I pretty much only read on Ao3 anymore so all of my recommendations are going to be there, but if others want to tack on their own recommendations in the comments they're always welcome to do so :)

A few things,

I tried to put content warnings on the bodies of work as I see fit, but some of these I read over a year ago and haven't looked at since so I apologize if I've missed something!

Additionally speaking, I've marked anything in which contains characters having sex with a red heart emoji ❤️ as it should be viewable on light and dark mode, across multiple forms of devices (ios vs android, etc) and should be readable to screen readers as well; As per previous notes on this blogs, any explicit depictions of characters having sex will also have them being explicitly over 18. Now without further ado-

I'm a huge fan of rabbit_soup's "Healing Takes Two" series, it's 13 pieces in total some of them are oneshots and others are multichapter but they all fit together making it a large body of text. The plot extends from Nico's three days in the infirmary to the early stages of their relationship and still seems to be ongoing with the author taking on rewriting some of their older pieces.

Adaman and Irida work together for 15 chapters to close some dimensional fisures, but that is not what matter, what matter is Alliework incredible caractherization and slow burn, like... the description of Irida feelings and how they grown over time, chef kiss, go and give it more kudos because totally deserv it.

I cried reading this wonderful dark reinterpretation of Hisue, this is a what if the clans were actuall enemies. English is not my first lenguage and i often struggle to not repeat words and sound natural, i must tell you, snowflight don´t have this problem, i often stop at the midlle of sentence thinking, wow, that´s actually a really good line. Go and read it by youself.

The autor said is a PWP but i disagree, the plot is there and happend to have a tons of sex, great work, 100/10.

This is. This is my personal favorite. Irida is gonna married and Adaman deals with his feelings. Is so well pace it, so well write it, have some of the best caractherizarions, is romantic, is angsty. the only thing holding it from perfection is tha is lack it ending, but at this point who cares? (i, i care so much) as it is is so so good.

This are my favorites! but as i said there are more than 100, i hope this fandom keep growing and growing. :D

as for fic recs, I predominantly stick to the angst tag (I'm starting to think I'm a masochist) but here's some good ones if you're after wild being wild:

The Grace Trilogy - Wild uses Mipha's Grace, angst ensues

A Hero's Spirit - this is a long one, and it's only the first fic in an ongoing series. This fic is solely about Wild and the Calamity aftermath, but the second fic in the series is when we get to meet the rest of the chain. Worth the read!

In Which Wild Avoids Meeting the Gang - another long one that I think is worth it. I think it perfectly encapsulates not only how much of a gremlin Wild is, but the chaotic rest of the chain as well

Follow the Lights - this one is a big oof, Wild needs a rest and the others think so too... but since when has Wild ever had self-preservation skills

A Spicy Solution - hilarious, ingenious, perfectly encapsulates Wild and his forward-thinking

Acting your age - this one is honestly just a good time

A New Start - Part III (The Boy Nanny!OC) "First Impressions"

Last part of Maeve's arrival to the Heelshire Manor! 1500+ words.

Warnings: 18+ light smut, once again, a touch of angst near the end.

The alarm clock in her phone rang at 6:30 am sharp, the upbeat first few seconds of "Out of Touch" sounding loud and clear. Maeve got up quickly and began getting ready as soon as she turned the alarm off.

A small stretch and a big yawn were followed by her bare feet feeling the cold wooden floors, aiding her to wake up faster. After she brushed her hair, she washed her face and brushed her teeth. Then exited the bathroom to get dressed for the day. Today was the day she would meet the one she will be caring for, so she chose some of her best attire for the occasion.

Unbeknownst to her, he had already met her, and was wide awake, watching her slip out of her nightgown through a peephole on the wall. He could almost see her in all her glory, almost, and by God was it a sight to behold. He palmed his erection through his clothes as he watched her dress up, thinking of the day he would get to take her clothes off himself.

She took care of every single detail, as soon as she was dressed, she went to put on makeup and jewelry in front of the bathroom mirror. Brahms knew it was almost time, so he moved around the walls towards his childhood room.

Maeve, on the other hand, made sure every hair was in its proper place before exiting her room.

As soon as she opened the door, she was greeted by Mr. and Mrs. Heelshire. They were waiting for her in front of Brahms' door, and smiled sweetly when they saw the young lady exit her room. Full on Edwardian attire, she looked like out of one of their many illustrated books.

"Good morning, Sir, Madam" she said with a small bow of her head. The old couple gleamed in hope and held each other's hands.

"Good morning, dear. I hope you slept well?" Mr. Heelshire inquired.

"Oh, I was exhausted from the trip, I slept with almost no interruption", and the couple's collective brows knitted in concern.

"Almost?" Mrs. Heelshire asked.

"Yes, well. I woke up at the feeling that someone was watching me, and I could swear I could hear noises coming from the walls. But then I remembered how you mentioned vermin might get in them, so I paid it no mind and went back to sleep"

The old pair eyesided each other at Maeve's declaration, as much as they tried to hide it, their concern was visible, their son was more impatient than they'd initially thought. Maeve noticed their expressions, and was left worrying if she had done something to upset them.

This thought was quickly discarded as Mr. Heelshire produced a small golden watch out of his jacket pocket. "Ah, 7 am! Miss Sweeney, would you like to welcome our son with us into a new day?" he asked, expectantly.

"Why, yes! If I may" she answered, full of excitement.

Mr. Heelshire opened the door to the dark room and Mrs. Heelshire rushed in to open the curtains, letting the sunshine in. Mr. Heelshire proceeded to walk in next, Maeve following close behind him.

"Wake up, Brahmsy. It's time to meet your new nanny" Mrs. Heelshire said sweetly. Mr. Heelshire covered Maeve's view of the child as he walked in, then turned to face her, "Miss Sweeney, this is our son, Brahms" he said, and moved aside.

A doll was in the bed. Porcelain face, with bright glass eyes that reflected the light coming in through the windows. Maeve's brain short circuited for a second. She blinked a few times, then looked at the expectant faces of the old couple in front of her, then at the doll, then back at them, a soft "Oh…" escaped her lips.

Nevertheless, she kneeled next to the bed, and took one of the doll's cold, porcelain hands into hers, "Morning, Brahms. My name is Maeve, it's nice to finally meet you!"

She must have said just what was expected, or at least, what was needed of her. She could tell by the couple's sudden simultaneous sigh of relief.

Brahms was watching behind the wall, and couldn't help but to smile under the mask at Maeve's kind acceptance of the doll.

After she was taught of the doll's morning routine, they all went to the study, Mrs. Heelshire spoke along the way with the doll in her arms, "You are to give Brahms 3 hours of lessons a day, starting with poetry or any of the books in the library, then music appreciation and art, then piano lessons" she stated.

They reached the inside of the study, the couple looked at Maeve once more while standing near the old piano. She assumed they wanted her to play for them, and she stuttered, remembering the rather unpleasant noise it gave.

"You do play, do you not?" Mrs. Heelshire asked. And Maeve answered quickly.

"Yes, yes of course! I studied Music with a specialization in piano at University. It's just…" she trailed off, "I brought my own keyboard with me, could I set it up to play for you?" 

The couple found the request rather odd, but conceded. Maeve rushed back upstairs and brought all the equipment for her keyboard by herself. Fast as a lightning, she got the instrument and herself ready to play in a heartbeat. 

She sat in front of the keys and gave a small sigh, psyching herself up. After a few seconds of silence, she got in position and started playing.

Her expression softened as soon as the instrument's sound hit her ears. A soft and tranquil, yet engaging tune sounding loud and clear for all of them to hear. Even Brahms, inside the walls.

He watched her play with her eyes closed, already knowing the song by heart. She swayed to the music as she played. And she played skillfully and beautifully. Even the upbeat tones sounded elegant when she played them.

A small pause, then a crescendo. And God, did she feel every single note in it. Her moving to the music increased  and she sank into the instrument as she played, her head bowed and hanging at the lowest notes of the song. A tune imitating the first half erupted, stronger and more intense than before. 

With her eyes fully closed and her head up high, she played the finishing notes, sunshine beaming in her face as she did, somehow making her look more angelic than the night before. Brahms was absolutely entranced by it all, he couldn't take his eyes off of her. His heartbeat was loud in his ears and he held his hands to his chest, as to contain it from bursting right then and there. Never before had anybody taken his breath away like this.

Maeve's body relaxed and she gave a content sigh as she came down from the high, slowly turning her head to spot an old couple that was completely stunned. Their eyes wide and jaws slightly agape, Mrs. Heelshire clutching the doll in her arms while Mr. Heelshire held onto a chair for dear life.

"I'm so sorry, I got carried awa-", but Mrs. Heelshire interrupted her sentence.

"That was absolutely marvelous, my dear girl! Oh I just know, Brahms will be so happy to be under your care!", she exclaimed as Mr. Heelshire gave her a celebratory clapping round.

"You truly are a wonder, Miss Sweeney. Now shall we continue to go over our son's daily schedule?"

They spent the day doing just that, with Brahms following them from inside the walls every step of the way. That night, his parents left. 

Maeve waved at them from the door with the doll in her arms, making it give little waves at them as they left the estate.

Brahms was crushed, he knew this time they wouldn't be back. Not anymore. He retreated into his room in the walls and layed on the cot, clutching the old, reconstructed doll into his chest as he cried silently. He was beyond afraid that Maeve would abandon him, hurt him like Greta had done before. But she was so angelic, so kind, and received the doll so well… Maybe he had finally found the one he's been looking for.

Maeve was still a little confused over the doll, but decided to give it a try and follow the rules that were left for her. She tucked the doll for bed and paused for a second before giving it a kiss goodnight, the last thing that Mr. Heelshire had said to her still roamed her mind.

"Be good to Brahms, and he will be good to you…", she wasn't sure what he meant, but she was going to try her best and be the number one nanny on earth.

She finally gave the doll a good night kiss, before quietly exiting the room and entering her own, across the hall.

Once more, after a long day, she reached to her phone and sent a text in the group chat she shared with her friends, "You girls will never guess what happened today 👀👀"

HONESTLY I think if Amity realized that GG has a thing for Willow she would try to kill him on the spot. (The only thing stopping her would be Willow herself because she finds it hilarious)

GG would be all tsundere-like "It's not like I have a soft spot for her or anything" because he's a coven official and he's got to keep up appearances.

But the real Hunter is absolutely open and obvious about his feelings. He doesn't need/expect Willow to return them, he's just happy to have an opportunity to actually express them.

A lot of the dynamic would depend on whether others know his real identity or not.

Because if they did know, even "fighting" with Amity at some point would become routine and insults aren't serious. Hunter still believes Belos is the best thing in the world, he still needs his Hollow Mind moment, but he also cares about the other witches and has nothing against them, they just need to understand that if everyone followed Titan's will things would be better! But he doesn't want anyone to doubt him or his loyalty to the coven so he tries to keep up appearances. And everyone thinks it's so funny to see him try to pretend to not have the fattest most obvious crush on Willow. He would say something dumb as GG (he likes making up dramatic speeches but doesn't always think them through), and when he's in the Normal Hunter Mode everyone would be like "Oh why are you sitting so close to Willow? I thought you said her vile sorcery wasn't strong enough to distract you from the Titan's plans?"

Of course this dynamic can't last long, and eventually a Hollow Mind esque thing would happen, because you just can't keep someone who works directly with the main villain in your friend group with them changing sides or betraying you.

If they don't know however... I don't know how that would happen. Maybe Hunter wears a concealment stone under his mask and it changes his appearance when he meets Luz and Amity but he doesn't wear it for some reason when he goes to meet Willow? And the whole kidnapping bit at the end doesn't happen. He still goes by Caleb. Now this one has genuine secret identity.

Willow enjoys how flustered she can get the Golden Guard, but why would she think twice about him when Caleb is so sweet and right there? Maybe the fact that GG is attracted to her just makes her angry. He's a creep and he's working for Belos. It makes her skin crawl that he's probably having some weird fantasies about her. Maybe she even thinks he feels the same for her as Warden Wrath does for Eda. She likes Caleb, but he's so secretive. He probably doesn't feel comfortable sharing his secrets yet, and he's definitely not attracted to her like that. Why couldn't she catch his attention instead of GG? (This probably frustrates her and makes her go all out on GG when they meet).

In this one it might be the opposite to the previous actually: Caleb feels too scared to slip up and reveal his secrets, but as GG he has more confidence to actually say what he thinks (more or less. He still needs to keep up appearances).

But of course Luz and Amity from their encounters and Willow herself eventually sees that he's not that bad, that he has a heart and doesn't like to bring harm to people and he's just really misguided. Aaaaand there comes my favourite trope "I'm in love with two people what should I do (but actually those are the same person)"

Eventually the secret identity would have to get revealed, I don't think it would be too dramatic, but it would probably happen like. Just the day before Hollow Mind or something.

Putting these all together I realized just how few fics with these two there are. Terrible! A crying shame! Why haven’t I written anything specifically about these two yet?? But anyways, here’s some of my favorites.

Uncivilized is a great one! Focuses on Wild and his trouble with being on the uncivilized side, but there’s a bunch of great Warriors & Twilight moments. One of my favorite lu fics :)

Time is of the Essence is another good one, but I WILL warn you it’s kinda bittersweet (and has. lots of cussing. which I know doesn’t bother most people but yeah anyway) it’s got lots of fun bonding between them, but the main draw for me is BUMP ‘N SPIN

Decision is short but it’s got Twilight struggling with side effects of being a wolf and Warriors comfort which I love ehehehe. This one IS a bit on the violent side though, there’s a fair amount of blood and monster remains so check the tags!

And Warhorse! This one is pretty new but already a favorite of mine. Warriors and Twilight and horse riding and our rancher getting a bit of a new perspective on the captain as they beat up monsters while riding. Especially recomend this one :)

And I’ll mention my doofy fic I think Hiccup Cures Were Invented For the Amusement of the Patient’s Friends because while it isn’t focused on Wars and Twi, they do mess with each other a bit and there aren’t really any humor (crack?) fics on here
