Big February Sweep…

Since we are in February, I don’t think we will get those unique Soap Opera February Sweep, such as Metro Court and Monkey Illness in GH. Since most of the major storylines had finished in January except for the Metro Court Shooter, Dex is working for Michael, Gregory’s illness, Tracy is still the owner of Deception, and Cory is Mac’s child. I don’t count whatever Drew and Carly’s plan against Nina because that needs a whole post on its own; I would have two major events going on at the same time to tie up those storylines and to have new storylines out. 

Half of the cast is at Sonny’s Place on the Island, and the other half is at the hospital. And the way I would break it down is:

Hospital - Cyrus and Selina set a bomb during a fundraising at the hospital where everyone else is, and they think Sonny and his family were there.

The ending of the storylines: 

Island: the Metro Court Shooter: Blaze is the older sister of Lila Rae, meaning she is Lozreno’s daughter, and it is their mob family who is behind it. Dex is working for Michael: Everything they did and who knew comes out, and he is actually working for the FBI. All of his backstory was a lie as he is Stone Cate Jr. 

Hospital: Gregory’s illness: He dies protecting Elizabeth’s boys, who have Violet with them. Tracy is still the owner of Deception: She overhears Maxie telling Ned who is injured and what his daughter is trying to do, and Tracy realizes that she watched Maxie grow up and this was her dream. Cody is Mac’s child: Robert, Felicia, and Cody are stuck together, and he tells them. 

Start of Storyline 

Island: Carly and Sonny lose their minds again with Jason returning; they are sent to a Mental Hospital, where we get a break from the characters. Sam asks Alexis to help her run Drew’s company for Scout, and she deals with Danny’s anger with Jason and everything that happens to them. Brooklyn and Chase's wedding is put on hold. TJ started having PTSD from losing his girl and baby. 

Hospital: Jason saves Elizabeth and Monica from Cyrus and tells them he has both memories. Elizabeth’s sons (all three of them) have daddy issues, and Elizabeth realizes she has both issues with her parents. While rebuilding the hospital, Elizabeth discovers that her family owns it. Terry realizes how understaffed the hospital is and starts looking for people. Maxie is asked to take over Crimson as well.

I noticed that the Family Tree foreshadowing is never discussed in the ASOIAF fandom to debunk our deluded speculations.

Because it’s impregnable. There is no debunking. Their only course of action is to ignore it, and pretend it doesn’t exist. What is the counter argument to Jonnel and Sansa Stark? How do you explain it away? Impossible.

Jonnel (One-Eye) Stark, son of Lynara Stark, married his blood relative, Sansa Stark.

Like, my god.

For the people that ship Sansa or Jon with another character, that piece of information has got to be shattering. It’s brutal. No mental gymnastics can overcome it. If I was dropped on my head as a child, eventually grew up to become a Sansan, and I saw that sitting in the Stark lineage, I’d have to move on with my life.

I would say I’ve read a good amount of the strongest theories, foreshadowing, parallels and clues that other fandoms like to champion their ships with, and I can say without bias (I mean not really, but I know I’m right), they don’t have anything even remotely as significant or glaring as Jonnel and Sansa Stark.

I started my fandom days on Reddit, knew a lot of the more well known Jonsa arguments (Ashford, the outline, drifting snowflakes), thought it was an intriguing idea, but mostly stayed impartial. It wasn’t until I made my way to tumblr long after the show ended, and I read everything in its totality, that I realized the inevitability of Jon and Sansa.  

But what I’ll never forget is when I finally got to @occupyvenus‘s Jonnel and Sansa Stark post. I was DUMBFOUNDED. I could not for the life of me understand why this wasn’t the primary evidence used to support the theory. Why had I never heard of this? Why was this not in the Alt Shift X Jonsa video? Why do BNFs and the fandom not talk about this? Why is this not treated with the same legitimacy as the Ashford theory?

This is the Ashford theory on steroids.

Once upon a time, in the universe of A Song of Ice and Fire, there was a girl named Sansa Stark. She had a suitor. His name was Jonnel Stark. They were related. They married.

WHAT.

And don’t get me wrong, I bloody love the Ashford theory. It’s a brilliant piece of foreshadowing, and the parallels between Jon Snow and Valarr Targaryen are incredible (omg please read The Black Prince With The White Guardian by @butterflies-dragons).

But the thing with Jonnel and Sansa is that nobody can trot out their bullshit to dismiss it. There’s no alternative way to interpret it. Nobody can claim it’s an oopsie coincidence. There’s no playing ignorant and pretending Jonnel Stark is meant to represent Aegon VI Targaryen. Nobody is bending themselves into a pretzel trying to parallel the Hound with Duncan the Tall. Jonnel and Sansa are invincible.

There’s no way around the fact that a Jon and Sansa got married in canon. That exists. In the Stark lineage. George did that.

And that’s when I realized why I had never really heard about it before. It’s a nightmare for them, so best to not acknowledge it.

Everything about it is bad...

The lengths George went to in making sure it was abundantly clear that Jonnel Stark is a direct representation of Jon Snow. Lynara Stark? One-Eye? Made heir to Winterfell after the death of his older brother? JONnel? Hilarious. It’s so over the top, they don’t even try to posture like this could somehow not be a reference to Jon.

The timing of its release? 2014. This didn’t come out in the 90s. We’re dealing with newer material here, succeeding even the last book in the series, making this all quite relevant. Equally as bad, it predates Jon and Sansa reuniting on the show. They don’t get to claim it’s silly George giving a wink and smile to a major shipping faction, because that fandom largely didn’t exist.

The circumstances of how it came to be? A last minute add to the lineage! Are you friggin kidding me? Why so compelled to add that in, Georgie?

But worst of all? Jonos Frey. Oh my god. Jonos fucking Frey. Third child of Rhaegar Frey. That right there is the killing blow. That’s how they know this is big trouble. For GRRM to spoil the most substantial secret in the entire series (other than maybe King Bran), in the exact same way, using another little cutesy variation of Jon’s name, is devastating. There goes any hope of ever convincing yourself GRRM would never reveal something so important in such a flippant way. There goes any hope of ever convincing yourself it has to be meaningless.

So, what do they do? They ignore it. They have to. It simply doesn’t exist. They’ll dedicate themselves to countering all major Jonsa evidence with their flimsy nonsense, but they never touch this. What is there to say?

But never forget, if a Jonnel (One-Eye) Stark, son of Lynara Stark, had married an Arya or Daenerys in the Stark or Targaryan lineage, you’d never hear the end of it. Never. They’d smother you to death with it. It would be confirmation that their ship is endgame, and everyone else can pack it up.

Jonsas, don’t let them gaslight you. Don’t question your own judgement of how big it is. It’s not a clue or an Easter egg, it’s a bomb sitting on a page, begging to be noticed.

u know what? i'm grown whatever. and it's not even really a TAKE just a reflective observation, if you will. cus im always thinking about fandom behaviors as i witness them

how to phrase this without feeling like i'm somehow incriminating myself (this is about jon/sansa by the way so like read on or dont lol)

so i watching the nights watch scenes from s4, 5 and 6 when sansa comes to the wall. cus like whatever i miss the gang WHATever. but i was thinking about like the three people that i can specifically remember from way earlier on (more in reference to the books), were really into the idea of sansa and jon reuniting-- not in a romantic way at all, but the little ways their arcs kinda echo and bounce off each other kinda by accident genuinely was really interesting!

but then the ashford tourney theory came out (this was still even way before sansa married ramsay in the show) and everyone was like mmmmmm georgie bud what's goin on.... (tldr its a story abt a tourney were the suitors match sansa's suitors/marriages -- baratheon (joffrey), tyrell (willas), lannister (tyrion), hardyng (harry), and targaryen (a lot of people think aegon, but a lotttt of people think jon too) (pls george has set precedence so it's not totally out of the realm of insane theories next to like.. varys the mermaid)

so that was a Thing for a bit and considering the state of the fandom at the time, again as i've witnessed, definitely not an even more extreme ship (the kink memes HAUNT me.. u dont know what i've seen). so THEN sansa and jon reunited in the show and everyone lost their fucking minds bc it wasn't something that was SUPPOSED to happen so what does this say abt the books later on? but antis (which is a term i hate) came out stronger.

regardless of how you feel abt the ship, it was just funny to think about how vehemently angry people were at the prospect of it happening- or that people believed that it could, when its like babes have u read the series.. george has done this exact thing like a Lot of times actually, considering his many ethically questionable choices, it's kinda in line with his nature, not just entirely a section of fandom just making up cousin incest pairings as their moral failing. and this is all contextualized within the very.... Specific Writing and Acting Choices that were made. i just thought it was interesting that This was the hill people chose to fight and die-- with EVERYTHING THAT'S GONE ON, that's the line. like even today, long after the show has ended, it's still a very hot point of contention. maybe i just dont get WHY it made people so angry. (maybe in my old age i just have a more liberal approach to shipping to the point where nothing rly shocks me anymore but idk)

Today had been a long time coming. Georgie had never anticipated her drinking getting as out of hand as it had, but ending up in the hospital and getting her stomach pumped because of alcohol poisoning was the wake-up call Georgie needed to realize her drinking had gotten out of control. Thalia had encouraged her to look into local meetings, thinking it may be better than attending meetings back in Hollywood, and although she was incredibly nervous as she stepped into the small gymnasium, she knew that being there at all was a step in the right direction. The meeting didn’t start for another fifteen minutes, but she wanted to get there earlier to acquaint herself with the route and to offer assistance setting up if it was needed. She approached one of the men in the room, offering up a sheepish smile. “I’m sorry to bother you, but is this where the AA meeting is being held? Is there anything I can do to help get set up?”
