Blushing historian who’d like nothing more than to be left in peace with her tea, pastries and research. She disappeared when the Isle of Val was destroyed and reappeared in the middle of nowhere years later, unable to say how, why or what had happened. She’s since learned that she did not, in fact, survive the destruction of the island and is looking for a way to be truly alive once more.

A traumatized man that sees himself as a shield and a weapon, nothing more. Travels the world at Seimei’s side, a wandering priest from Sui-no-Sato with bad decision-making skills (if you ask his bodyguard), while trying to find out who he is as a person.

After years in the mob, she did a 360 and tried to redeem herself. Despite a rocky start as an adventurer, she’s now in a much better place and with the world saved and her troubles behind her, she now has to figure out what peace means for her.

Hint: she threw herself at the first Potential Big Trouble she could find.

The Trickster Gods’ fool

Naberius Ravencast. Necromancer Warlock, The Whispered One’s favoured puppet and First King to the Cursed Kingdom of Aledian.

“Naberius. We finally meet.”

Naberius freezes. His body floods with coldness at the voice he hears from behind him, how each word sounded like a low, hissed whisper that somehow manages to encircle itself around him.

He knows that voice; has lived with it pressing against his mind for almost three years now.

Almost cautiously he turns, trying not to show the fear which has now filled him. His gaze looks up, meeting the face of the being which stands before him.

They are so much taller than him. They have a lean, thin figure, hinting towards a sickly frame beneath the heavy robes that drape over their form. Their face is sunken; deep set and shrivelled. Their eyes are dark pools etched deep into their skull, yet the iris’ are of a rich emerald green.

“Who are you?”

His words sound far more controlled than he feels. There is a deep curiosity that burrows within Naberius’ own soul, a desire to learn more of this … this unknown benefactor. Yet he cannot shake off the terror he feels standing within their presence.

“I go by many titles,” the being hisses. “Some know me as The Master of the Spider Throne. Others, The Undying King. But to most? I am The Whispered One.”

“You’ve been with me all this time, haven’t you?” Naberius asks. “The voice at the back of my thoughts — that’s been you, hasn’t it?”

“Yes.”

There’s something that feels like a nudge within Naberius’ mind, as if attempting to guide his thoughts down a certain path. Before he can think on it his memory is unlocked, and suddenly Naberius is back standing within the space of all too familiar sand-filled corridors from a past he has long tried to forget.

Smash Bros. But with 26 Characters

Got inspired by a recent Duke of Dorks video to try my own hand at reducing/rebooting the Smash Bros. Character & Stage roster, so here is my take on a reduced smash bros roster!

Every new/returning character has their reason here. Hopefully it’s a good amount of character diversity! Got some new classic rep, new weeird rep in ring fit trainee, added a new Pokemon- Oh, and the Pokemon Trainer would have Mudkip, Servine, and Charizard, just for multi-gen rep. I think it turned out cool! And I did stages too!

Aimed to strike a good balance of stages returning from each game, with a majority of new stages and a home stage for each character. Plus some stages we’ve been wanting for aaaaaaaaaages (Bowser Castle, a Metroid stage that isnt fire or acid) - the only thing here Im sad I didnt get to include was weird stages with no character rep like pictochat or hanenbow. but oh well! Think this is still a solid mix!

haha sooo I've been working really hard over the past couple of weeks to revamp an old storyline I had when I first wanted to become a comic artist. My Pokémon Generation Roster

Take a close look here. I used a tier list maker to construct a complete list of the Pokémon I would have return for a future mainline game, if I had any control over such a decision.

In total, there'd be 500 returning Pokémon - excluding variants that would also appear - along with 100 new creatues for the new generation, thus boosting that number to 600 for the regional Pokédex.

Creature Comforts

“We’re rather lucky they didn’t throw us overboard, after last nights attack.” Mina curls herself around the back of Naberius’ neck in the mimic of an embrace, her mouth resting close beside his cheek. As she speaks her breath tickles against Naberius’ skin, her tongue seeming as if to hum the air. Naberius curls into himself further, brow furrowing as he pretends to be reading from the tome which he has settled within his lap. A heavy sigh leaves him.

“It wouldn’t be the first time someone’s jumped to conclusions about me,” he responds, sounding oddly reserved. “They don’t understand. No one here understands,” Mina says, curling herself closer in an act to provide comfort. “It’ll be better once we’re on land again.” 

“Don’t be so sure,” Naberius reasons. “We still have to work alongside the Flaming Fist after all. They’ll be watching us like a hawk, now. Waiting for us to trip up and reveal ourselves as they very thing they all so desperately fear. After all, it’s not the death curse that frightens them. It’s the undead themselves.” “We’re not alone, though. Not this time. We have allies. Friends, perhaps.” Naberius huffs out a laugh. He closes the tome, heavy thud snapping the air. “Do not try to reassure me, Min. They are just as unsure as the rest.” Naberius knows this to be true. Aside from creating a cover story in which to defend him, the rest of their allies were now wary around him too. Oh, they try not to let it show, but the cracks of truth always splinter against the veil. He knows how concerned Enna had been when she had looked through the few pages of the tome he allowed her to see; how her face had paled, her brow creased at the words she attempted to help him decode. How Donald now glances at him when he thinks he’s not looking, as if waiting for the illusion he saw that night to shine upon Naberius’ form once more. How Barsek - who had been the quickest to come to his defence when swords were pointed at him - had also felt the most betrayed, and how he still now urges Naberius to be honest and place his trust in them. If the situation were different, then perhaps he would feel at ease that those around them had quickly formed a bond of unbreakable camaraderie. Yet Naberius knows from experience that such things are not as easily granted to one such as himself. He lifts his hand, rubbing against his cheek. It still aches, the truth of Senrab’s anger a handprint burned against his skin. Naberius supposes he deserves it, Senrab’s ire. Perhaps that is why his reaction had hurt the most to see. To feel. “He did not mean it,” Mina says, breaking Naberius out of his thoughts. “He would never hurt you - not intentionally.” Naberius drops his hand once more, sighs heavily again. His shoulders slump. “I know,” he answers, the words softer then those he spoke before. “I deserved it.” “Are you sure we cannot talk to him? He wants to know, ‘Berius. He wants to understand -” “He will never understand,” Naberius cuts off. “Not this. Not what we’ve been through. Mina -” He reaches up, touches against her cool, scaled skin. It’s a familiar reassurance, one which Naberius finds himself taking comfort in more and more as of late. “- he cannot know the extent of what happened that day. It would sit too heavy on him, how close it came to my never returning. I am lucky to be here, it’s true, but you -" Naberius pushes against the weight which has gathered in his throat then, clenches his eyes tight against the heated prickle he feels beginning to build. “- He believes what is happening to be evil, Mina. I do not understand the truth of things myself, but how can it be evil? How can it, when it returned you to me?” They rarely touch this subject. It is too delicate, too raw still, even after these last few years. Naberius does not like revisiting it, avoids how it hurts like a fresh bruise. He knows he should have died that day. How for a time, a piece of him had. It is said that you cannot live without your daemon. A connection so solid, so true, that for it to break would mean the shattering of one soul in two bodies. Death comes to both - to human and daemon - a tragic yet natural fact in the cycle of lifes’ wheel. But no one ever thinks of what it would mean to have your daemon severed from you while you still remain on the mortal plane. The memory is seared into Naberius, like a hot iron brand cast upon his body. He will never forget it; how it felt as if half of him had been ripped away, the impossible mixture of agony and nothing. How his scream tore from somewhere deep within his very being, the sound something terrifying, feral almost. For the longest stretch of time, Naberius had felt as if death would be a blessing compared to living without Mina. The whisper had come, then. It settled itself deep within his very skull, before offering him the very thing he needed to survive. It gave Mina back, granted him the greatest gift any being had ever offered him before. Naberius does not mind his fate. Not really. While he sometimes fears what it is that became a part of him that day - for Mina is not the only being which shares him, now - Naberius knows that there is little he wouldn’t do in exchange for the return of his soul. “I am here, ‘Berius,” Mina says, rubbing her face against the length of his finger. He lowers his head, rubbing his forehead against her tiny form. “I will not leave your side again.” “I know you won’t. I won’t let you. You will never leave without me again,” Naberius draws in a shuddering breath, closes his eyes. “Do you see why we can’t tell Senrab? He worries enough as it is, I dare not let him carry this truth.” “I understand,” Mina says. “Zay likely won’t let you near him now, though.” “No,” Naberius says around a small, broken laugh. “No, I suppose she won’t. She looked ready to tear my throat out last night as it is - but, it’s okay. She only hates me because she cares about Senrab so. I’m glad she is so protective over him. It’s what he needs, and what he deserves.” “And I’ll protect you,” Mina replies. “Small though I am, I will do what I can.” “Small though you are, a little demon you can be,” Naberius says, placing a kiss against her small head. “I wouldn’t have you any other way though, darling. Come now though, let us stop feeling sorry for ourselves.” Naberius rises to his feet, keeping Mina wrapped around his neck. He gives her a smile, stroking underneath her chin. “Shall we see if we can pester Lokecious for the remainder of the afternoon? I’m sure we’ll get him to crack and tell us more about his research soon.” “You say you’re close to getting him to reveal more, but I really think you’re not. The two of you just waste time talking your academic language.” “We’ll see. Give me another week - two, tops. I’ll know more."
