𝐁𝐞𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟑 ೄྀ࿐ ˊˎ- (Part 1)
Hey guys! I am Mahi and welcome to my first blog. Today is the last day of 2022 and this season of our show will be over now. So, why not a 2022 wrap-up? I mean, Spotify does it, so why not me? So, here is my recap of the year. (This post has been inspired by an Instagram post by @inastudious on Ig)
So, we are going to: celebrate the past, set intentions for the next year and create new systems.
CELEBRATE THE PAST
What did I do this year that I am proud of? What did I learn? How I felt?
Level 1: What I did
Found the best of friends and teachers
Tumblr media
I found the best of friends this year. My last year of high school and forever friends. I have to give them that they handled me at my absolute worst and still love me when I just burnt down their forest. I know what I did and how I am. So, for them, I am going to be better because they deserve the best. I love them so so much. They are people my 11-year-old had been dreaming to be friends with. Shout out to Tanisha, Vanshika, Charu, Yashaswini, Shreya D, Harshita, Nistha, Riya K, Riya M, and Priyanka. You guys are amazing and I hope we still meet up when we go to college. My teachers were downright amazing. Couldn't ask for more. I have never seen such dedication in anyone ever.
2. Hiking Trip
Tumblr media
This year in June, I went on a hiking trip in the foggy hills of Nagaland, India. The most relaxing experience even though we walked for like 6 hours to reach our destination. We stayed in a small hotel. It was a totally different experience. In between, I felt like giving up, but then I did the whole trek just for 2 cups of noodles that we got at the hotel. It was quite wet there. I kept falling down. But it's okay. It was unique and something I will surely do again!!
3. Escape Room
Tumblr media
So, on my birthday this year, I planned to do an escape room with my cousins. Honestly, never again. Not that it was bad or anything- I genuinely feel that I am not good at this kinda stuff. Like, I feel that if I'll be getting murdered, then I'll just cry. No kidding. I'll cry all the way until the murderer decides to leave me alone. By the way, most of the escape room was done by Shakul (the one on the left). Ananya (the one on the right) helped. I just tried to act like Sherlock. Making simple things complex. lol. Anyways, it was fun. And I am happy that I tried it.
Level 2: What I learnt
Honestly, I learnt a lot this year. This year was a learning year only. So, here are the top three things that I learnt.
1. Never date anyone from the same school
Yes. Never date any person who goes to the same school or any institution where you see each other's faces every day. I know, it's fun at first. But then, it gets awkward when you guys break up. So, like, not good.
2. Speak now and get over it
This year, I confessed to a guy. He said no. But yk what good for me. I moved on very quickly. Like, it took me one Taylor Swift song to get over him. So, it was really cool. Just say it man, and get over it.
3. Don't let internet influence you
The Internet is a fucked up place, man. Don't digest everything that you see. I mean, it influences our habits like anything. I would see pretty lip balms and I'll search for them on Amazon. Damn. I don't need lip balms rn, but this marketing makes me think that I need that particular lip balm. This is one example. There are many others.
Level 3: What I felt
youtube
This song was basically what I felt throughout the year (Thank you, Taylor Swift). I was happy and sad. I was happy that I found such good friends and experienced the best of memories. But I am kinda sad that this is ending. Well, that's how life works, ig.

Then: James Potter was a beloved child star and the lead of a popular YA franchise. Lily Evans was just getting her big break as his romantic lead in the third installment. While their chemistry got rave reviews, if the rumors are to be believed the two actors can barely stand to be in the same room together.
Now: Lily’s paid her dues and ten years later she’s the most in-demand actress in Hollywood. And James...after back-to-back flops at the box office, he’s just looking for a break and a chance to prove he is the amazing actor everyone thought he was going to be.

It wasn’t an ideal way to spend a birthday, that was for sure.  Sure on television the Oscars looked so glamorous.  But, in reality, it just meant you had to wake up early to be poked and prodded, and sometimes quite literally sewn into a suit, and spend several hours without food.  Of course, if things had gone a little differently, James might have enjoyed his evening a bit more.

Summoning the courage of thousands of Gryffindors before him, James sank to his right knee and pulled the unassuming black velvet box from his pocket. The room around them faded into warm shapes and colours. James didn’t know if Sirius had paused the music or if he’d gone temporarily deaf. It was only the two of them, James thrusting his mum’s ring out towards Lily and Lily looking at James with a bemused sort of grin.
After several long moments, or maybe a half an hour, or possibly several days, Lily spoke.
“James, let’s - we should talk.”
It was supposed to be perfect.

ginny weasley’s 6th year at hogwarts
As soon as they found Dumbledore’s body, some unconscious part of Ginny knew that their relationship would have to end. She knew Harry, who’d lost so many people, couldn’t bear to put her in danger. She understood his reasoning, in fact, if she were in the same position, she might even do the same. But, it wasn’t fair. Why couldn’t she go with them and help take down Voldemort. She, after all, was the closest link to Tom after Harry, having spent a year entwined with his teenage self.

Of all the things Lavender could have been crying over, Ginny had not expected this. Granted, she knew Ron wanted to end things with Lavender just as much as she’d wanted to end things with Dean. But, she supposed she was a bit preoccupied with her own public break-up to notice Ron’s first romance imploding a mere few feet away. She briefly wondered if Lavender was just as oblivious to her relationship ending as Ginny was to her’s.

And it all came crashing back. Harry, Ron, and Hermione returning to Hogwarts. The Order coming to fight. Spells being shot back and forth. Hogwarts crumbling from within, but also fighting back. Voldemort and his army of death swarming the castle. Fred. Remus. Tonks. Harry, dead. Harry, not dead. Bellatrix. And then Voldemort and Harry, facing each other in the Great Hall, where Ginny had eaten every meal during the school year with her friends. Voldemort falling. They’d won. The war was over.

Natalia,
Hello my favourite lady! Happy Birthday!
You are such a joy to have around and I’m so lucky to have a friend like you at work. You get me in ways that I haven’t always been accepted and it means the world. Today I hope you get to indulge in some delicious wine with that very fine specimen of a man you get to keep around you and make the most of your day!
Sending you all the love and good wishes,
Shreya
Natalia read the note in the birthday card and almost cried at the sweet words her best friend had left her. Shreya truly was like a sister to her at this point and even if either of them ever decided to leave Take One for the next big thing life had to offer, the two women knew their friendship was going to be for life and went beyond the average workplace friendship. “Shreya, you’re so fucking sweet. Come here!” She pulled the tall woman into a tight hug and held on for a while. “You’re the best and I’ll be sure to make sure that there’s enough wine for us whenever you decide to stop by so we can have a girls night.”

Heyyy Sol!!!! I hope this submission finds you in good health and joyous celebrations as it is your birthday!!! 🎂🍰🎂🍰 (hopefully it's December 20th where you are)
Though I have nothing to offer, I hope this is enough for you! Happy Birthday!!! 🎂🎂🎂
P.S. I haven't read the Elementalists yet so forgive me if this is totally wrong 😅
🔰~•~🔰
Beckett had it all planned out.
From the cake to the excessive decorations, everything was set for the party. All he needed now was the celebrant.
The others lurked in darkened corners of the room, Atlas levitated in the air with the help of an air attuned student, her arms preoccupied with a bucket full of confetti, she'd been more than willing to release them in time for Sol's entrance. (The idea was fully hers, Shreya tried to warn Atlas with precautions and probable mishaps, yet they fell on deaf ears)
Zephyr on the other hand, tried his best to not eat the cake, yet there it was, standing right in front of him, tantalizing as it was, he knew the consequences if they even tried to take a swipe of the frosting. (Our dear celebrant chasing him across campus of course)
Now, Beckett stood by the doors, ready to surprise her, yet something bothered him.
She's late
"Oh Beckyboy," Zephyr cooed from behind the cake, "is she outside already?"
"No," Beckett replied with a solemn sigh, "I already told her to meet me here."
"Maybe she got lost?"
"No. Not possible." a hand rose to his chin, rubbing gently. Think Harrington, think!
Come what may, nothing popped into his head.
"Hey B," Atlas called, Beckett craned his neck to meet her eyes, "maybe you should go find her, she's probably forgotten."
"You're right." Beckett turned to the rest as he grabbed his coat. "Everyone wait here, I'll go fetch our girl."
Beckett dashed out of the hall, he held his cap to his head, afraid it would fly off. After all, it was Sol's early christmas gift to him.
He hoped she was safe, the cold slipped beneath skin and the snow piled more layers than usual. Snowflakes fell on his clothes, even on his nose, which turned a light shade of red from the bitter cold.
Once he'd reached her room, the hand he brought up to knock stopped mid-air. He heard sobbing inside.
"Sol? Sunshine, are you alright?"
No answer.
"Well... could you please let me in? I want to see you."
A loud sniffle came after. "Leave me alone! I don't wanna see you."
Beckett was baffled. Had he done something wrong?
"Please, let me in, I want to explain."
A short pause before the sound of footsteps drew towards the door. When it opened, there she was, her eyes bloodshot red from the tears, hair in all sorts of directions.
Beckett was quick to gather her in his arms, a hand running through her hair to soothe her. "My sun, what's wrong?"
"You forgot," she squeaked.
"Forgot what?"
"My birthday, you dummy," she sniffled and wiped a stray tear.
Beckett's hands travelled to hold her cheeks, his eyes bore into hers as he held her ever so gently, like a porcelain doll he cherished so much.
"Guess again."
Her face scrunched up into a confused expression. "What?"
He chuckled. "Did you actually think I'd forget?"
She raised an eyebrow, the hint of a smirk playing at her lips. "You're joking."
"If you'll follow me to the hall, then maybe you'll find an answer."
"What about my hair? I look like a caveman."
His hand brushed her locks. "There's nothing me and my magick can't do."
"You'll fix it?"
He smiled. "I'll brush it myself"
🔰~•~🔰
They stood in front of a grand burgundy door, their fingers laced tightly as the held hands.
He turned to her. "Ready?"
"As I'll ever be."
When they went through, a slew of confetti dropped from above, a multitude of people came out of their spots to yell: "HAPPY BIRTHDAY SOL!"
It was a scene like no other, a grand feast that adorned the table stood in the middle of the room, teachers and students alike all with bright smiles on their faces. Surely this was a dream to her.
"You guys..." she whispered as she brought both her hands to cover her mouth, preventing the itching urge to scream in joy, "please tell me this isn't a dream."
Beckett heard her plea. "My sun, this is no dream. It's all real."
What seemed to be a squeal was the only response he got. Either way, his sun finally shined after clouds had gotten in the way.
Sol approached her friends, each one hugged her tightly. But when she got to Zephyr, she almost slapped him. After all, who would enjoy a cake with only half of it's frostings?
🔰~ The End ~🔰
So, I hope you're alright with this fic (even though it's bad)
HAPPY BIRTHDAY SOL!!! 💖💖💖💖🍰🎂🍰🎂🍰🎂💖💖💖💖

this took longer than i wanted to, hopefully you don’t mind! i wanted to make a big thread of random thoughts that came into my head. i decided to answer this way so i can put a cut and people don’t have to read this ridiculously long post!
sunday and beckett pregnancy hcs 🌷👶✨
beckett knows sunday is pregnant before herself. during her period week he knows her mood changes and how horny she sometimes can be. her period is very regular and he knows what to expect and how to comfort her during it. but, it never came. he was busy himself and didn’t realise it until that time of the month was well past them.
“sunday, is everything alright with… you know.. your period?”
“what do you mean?”
“it’s late. your period is never late”
“i think it might be from stress of the games. it’s been madness!”
beckett didn’t seem reassured but he let it go. she knows her body better than he ever could. sunday however was starting to have doubts so she buys a pregnancy test and wouldn’t you freaking know it… it’s positive.
beckett knows when sunday looks at him after she takes that test. he doesn’t even have to see it to believe when she says “you were right… i’m pregant, b”
he hugs her like never before, lifting her off the ground, swaying her in his arms. beckett cries a little, sunday does too. the shock is so big, it wasn’t planned but at the same time, very wanted.
“only beckett harrington to figure out when a girl’s period is late”
“hey, it’s a great few days for said beckett harrington”
“well, too bad they won’t be happening for a while”
“i wouldn’t change a thing, sunday. i love you”
“i love you t- WHAT IF IT’S TWINS BECKETT????!! we cannot handle two babies at once, can we?? omg mom is going to freak out, and atlas… we’re gonna be PARENTS! BECKETT WHY ARE YOU SMILING, YOU NEED TO FREAK OUT WITH ME!!”
they only tell atlas and shreya during the first trimester. sunday knew atlas wouldn’t be able to keep the secret from shreya and shreya would figure it out in 10 minutes anyway. they’re happy to have someone to talk to about it.
it’s the 6 week apointment, sunday had only had a blood test to confirm the pregnancy and passed with flying colors. beckett was with her of course and they were excited to see baby.
the doctor found one baby and they smiled, everything looked healthy and 10 seconds later the doctor is like oh looks like there’s two! oh my mistake, there are three babies in there!
beckett didn’t faint because he was already sitting down. sunday saw her life flash before her eyes.
“what?” said both of them
“yeap, three heartbeats, it’s too early to tell if they might be identical or not”
“are you absolutely sure, doctor?” asked beckett
and the doctor showed them in the ultrassoung machine, three black voids filled with a white dot each and their pulsing hearts. they were having triplets.
i believe pregnancy with multiples need to monitored way more often than ones with just one baby so regular appts for these two. beckett hates missing them but they’re both busy
beckett would still be studying and working freelance (i still have no concrete idea what his job would be, maybe something with writing/research?)
sunday is told to slow things down so she takes a break from the team before quitting altogether
i haven’t decided on the triplets birthday yet but i’m leaning torwards scorpio/sagittarius season (maybe aries season too?)
beckett and sunday still travel quite a bit
sunday feels pretty great for the most part, i think the hardest part of her pregnancy is towards the end
beck really wanted to take a photo of sunday each week and see the growth of their babies;  he made a whole album with his thoughts and hopes for their family and gave it to sunday after the babies were born
they travelled to quite a few places during the 9 months, maybe 6 to 7 different locations. sunday being at home more and feeling pretty good during the 2nd trimester they took a few roadtrips to places close to them
atlas and shreya moved out of their shared apt so beckett moved in with sunday right before they found out they were pregnant
i don’t know if they’d be married at this point in time or not
they would have been living together before getting pregnant, sunday would spend most of her time at beckett’s place but she wasn’t “officially” moved in because she travelled quite a bit due to thief and the games
to me, for some reason, their lives seem hectic and busy af after graduating, everything happens at once for them
getting signed with a thief team, beckett getting acknowledged for his skills and scoring independent jobs and working on his masters, sunday is travelling all the time
i feel like beckett one day, in the midst of all the business, while they were still half asleep in bed was just like “marry me” and sunday thought she was actually dreaming. there was no way this boy was asking her to marry him right now
“what” she kinda giggled “marry me” he sounded so serious she woke up and sit up
they stayed in silence just staring at each other for a while until they started smilling and the thought really sank in, it was barely morning
“sunday, marry me”
“i think i’ll need to hear that again a few more times”
did they elope later that afternoon?? WHO KNOWS
back to your scheduled programming of pregnancy with triplets:
sunday got real swolen, painfully swolen at some point in time.
weird cravings of butternut squash everything. beckett became quite good at using it in a variety of recipes
sunday really missed her job during her pregnancy and felt quite lost. she felt her only purpose was to carry these kids around and moan back pain every 5 minutes.
but she also realised she didn’t want to do thief after becoming a mother. that chapter felt like it was closing for her and she needed to take a step foward into a new career path (i have yet to figure it out)
very cranky and moody sunday. she also hated getting advice from her mom on her pregnancy. it would just annoy her
atlas got real good at getting these two away from each other
god atlas as an AUNT wow
she really started to fear sunday at the end of her pregnancy like... the look sunday would give when she was pissed off ... oof
atlas and beckett are the only ones sunday wanted with her when it was delivery time
i imagined it was most likely a c-section? would there be more “innovative” ways in the magick world to give birth??
moving on that’s not important
beckett studies pregnancy yoga intensely so he can teach sunday
tmi.. or nsfw... sex is pretty fun
sunday thinks it will be 2 girls and one boy, the girls being identical
beckett thinks it’s 3 girls
they restored their baby blanket atlas found and used it in the nursery
sunday and beckett did not find out the sexes of the babies until birth
(it was a bet. sunday was actually the one that was DYING to find out and lost)
shreya was the only one that guessed correctly (2 boys 1 girl)
bougie ass baby gifts from shreya. special one of a kind super gentle lotion, shampoo. baby shoes, oils and butters for stretch marks, blankets with their names on it, literally you name it
there’s something about baths... sunday would never take them but it became nighttime ritual at some point
beckett is very aware of people’s names now that he has to name 3 kids and is VERY opinionated
he even starts to question his name, sunday’s name, everyone else around him “you have a such a weird name sunday, what was theia thinking” “COME SAY THAT TO YOUR PREGNANT WIFE’S FACE, HARRINGTON”
sunday needs to pull a break on that for a while so they stop throwing name ideas for a few weeks
they agree on marlow first, sunday suggests it and beckett isn’t much of a fan until he finds himself using it in his head. when he sees his baby boy he knows it’s his name
they had one unexpected visit from the sources to congratulate sunday and beckett on the pregnancy and marriage. i’m pretty sure gemma called selene’s wood attunement.
sunday does not want anyone touching her belly but she’s kinda anxious about it so atlas is always ready to fight somebody’s hand off
god can u imagine these sisters coming this far in their lives, sunday is going to be a mother, atlas an aunt how happy atlas is to be able to see a future she thought would be lost after so many years of running from raife and the heartache and loss. I AM EMOTIONAL.
doting aunt atlas like she SPOILS these kids to death
katrina might have a kid of her own at this point in time, since she’s older than beckett? sunday would appreciate her advice way more in comparision to her mother’s. (i could also see katrina not wanting kids but i don’t know if she has hinted either way)
beckett’s family has been a bit harsh when it comes to sunday’s job but she wins everyone over eventually so they do find themselves falling in love with her. they find sunday so warm and kind and easy to talk to. his parents are so happy to be grandparents of three kids no less, and are prepared to spoil them to bits.
i can see her with the harringtons spending the summer together, his mother talking about when beckett was a baby himself which seemed not that long ago.
the boys share a room in their grandparent’s house while selene has one of her own once they’re about 5/6 years old. while they’re toddlers, they do sleep in the same room together.
they really do dote on these kids. beckett has never seen them this affectionate before in his life.
beckett’s father and jett bond very nicely. both are a fan of sports.
zeph and griff give sunday and beck so many delicious homecooked meals they can freeze for after birth but also to eat whenever they want.
zeph got the tendency of showing up like “my abuela cooked extra this week so i thought i’d give you some for dinner”
they do not complain once. the meals are delicious
zeph really enjoys babysitting the kiddos, especially as they get a bit older and start to waddle around, speaking gibberish you understand but not really. the kids are really impressed by his water tricks. bath time is a mess (with him and in general tbh)
beckett and sunday have one big fight during the pregnancy. sunday is feeling lost and weird about her career, job, path in general and beckett always has something to say instead of just listening which frustrates them both. they fight all day the first time but can’t go to sleep angry so they talk it out during the night. neither of them has much sleep but they settle things down, beckett just listens and explains where he came from, apolagizes, sunday too, they figure it out in the end. this comes up again but sunday just points it out to him what he’s doing and he’s like “my bad, babe”.
sunday eats pretty much plant-based during the pregnancy apart from having a few eggs here and there. she has this aversion of meat, it sounds disgusting to her (marlow’s influence?)
beckett sings to the babies a lot, sunday falls asleep to it often
i can see beckett having choir lessons when he was younger and actually being a pretty good vocalist
atlas buys baby things ALL THE TIME. goes jogging, sees a random store “oh sunday i found this dumb ass onesie, here” “i saw this arylu plushie and thought the kids would like it” “this muslin cloth has cat butts on it, let me get that 1 for each kid” sunday literally doesn’t need to buy anything because everyone is buying them baby stuff 24/7
shreya planned the baby shower where they basically just asked for diappers and ended up with high-tech baby stuff, beckett was actually pretty intrigued by some of them
massages. everyone that goes into that apt just sees beckett rubbing some lotion on sunday and massaging some area in her body, feet, back, legs. towards the end it’s a must if sunday wants to walk around for more than 20 minutes without being in pain.
if you finished reading this, congratulations! here, have a 🍄.
this is already so freaking long and even though i feel like i could get some more hc’s going i’m gonna stop here and save any that i find important for another post. let me know what you guys think and don’t mind the typos too much  I’M SICK🙈

Short Stories that blows your mind.
Story name: TOFFEE
Written by me!
Toffee:
Many incidents happen in human life, but people cannot remember all of it. Some remain in the memory and some are lost in the world of oblivion. I may not remember all the events that have taken place in my short life , but one event that I cannot forget even when I try to forget it again and again but it is like a vague picture of sadness floating in the door of my mind . Maybe I will never forget this memory!! Today I will talk about that memory which is very sad and painful .
Shyamalpur is a small village. The village looks very gallant and decorous with the ceremony of palm and coconut trees. Blue sky over the head with expansive green paddy fields below , the winding paths, shrubs on both sides of the road , songs of cuckoos were heard in morning and evening. In the morning the aroma of the flowers wafts in the cool gentle breeze!! Palash flowers falling spread over the road and turned it red . A small river flows to the north of the village named 'Champa' . On both sides of the river a group of white cranes sit in an alliance in the hope of hunting. Biku, the fisherman with his small boat fishes in the river till late night . His 'Bhatiali' song floats in the air and could be heard from afar! In the evening when the lamps are lit in the houses in both sides of the river , the sky lamp floats in the sky , moonlight plays in the water of the river at night !! On the banks of Champa was 'Chhabi' aunt's small house. Only her two-year-old son was the lifeblood of her life. 'Bhavananda' was Chhabi mashi's spouse worked as a little clerk somewhere in Kolkata. He used to come home once a month with his family expenses and leave for Kolkata on Sunday afternoon. Mashi lived alone with her son in a small mud house but at the touch of her hand the mud house really turned into a picture. The walls of the room and 'Tulsi Mancha' beside the house was beautifully painted with 'alpona' there were some flowers next to the Tulsi mancha, a few Chrysanthemum aparajita flowers bloom every evening and morning . A bamboo fence around the flower trees surrounded in a circular manner. There were two bellflower trees on either side of the fence lots of bell flowers bloomed and the smell filled the whole house. Aunt was a very beautiful woman to look at. Her name Chhabi which means picture, actually approved her beauty! She had curly hair up to her waist, very fair complexion. She used to wear red 'bindi'on forehead and 'alta' on her feet. At times she roamed around wearing anklet and the sweet sound of her anklets kept the house inebriated.
She was not too old, maybe within 24 to 25 years. His son was as good looking as his mother. The baby was 3 years old with fair complexion, curly hair, big dark eyes and his and his Limbs were soft and fluffy his face was like a lotus flower pure and innocent Mashi use to put a big Kajal Bindi on his forehead anyone would love to hug the baby and take him in their arms the innocence in his face fascinated everyone his name was 'Utsav'. Utsav means festival. Mashi affectionately called him by this name. To every mother her son is a source of joy and celebration maybe that was the reason why Mashi named her son so. When Utsav's small feet moved towards her mother's lap the sounds of his anklets tingled my mind. I caressed him everytime I visited their place.
Like every other day I was going to school by the path beside mashi's house , I saw Mashi was teaching the baby to walk.
From a distance I saw Mashi raising her arms and calling the boy to come and Utsav oncestruggling to walk, was falling once with his two legs and again getting up smiling and walking towards his mother's lap. Mashi wrapped Utsav around her arms and affectionately kissed him on the face . Mashi took the milk bowl in front of his face to feed him, Utsav gripped the bowl with his tiny hands so the milk flipped out on his face. Utsav kept smiling at this and her mother cleaned his face with her saree.
Mashi used to love me a lot . Often she asked me to visit their place.
On one Thursday , for some reason it was a school holiday. So I went to Mashi's house . She gave me a slip to sit on . But I did not find Utsav there, so I asked her, "Where is Utsav ?? I cannot see him!!" Mashi pointed her finger at the room. There I saw him with a small nursery rhyme book and he was reciting some poems. As soon as I called him, he ran to me and sat on my lap. He started pulling my hair with his small hands, I felt so good but still I pretended to Mashi and said you see Mashi your son is so naughty!! he is pulling my hair! Mashi said to Utsav , "lokkhishona lokkhi bapon, don't pull her hair, it's hurting ". Then and there Utsav left my hair and got down from my lap and went to her mother.
The baby was trying to go to her mother's lap but since Mar she was busy cooking she said but I am cooking pesh for you it is your favourite Na actually it was Utsav birthday that's why I was invited after completing cooking both the dressed Utsav with the new cotton dress made by maa she herself Utsav was so happy having that dress that he kept on showing his dress to everyone then we we had lunch Utsav enjoyed the Paresh with body fit him while sitting Hona lap on her mother's lap he laughed screamed hopped and again kissed Mashi I had a great time over there on one day on one Tuesday we had half day in school I went back home early in the afternoon while going back I found Mashi a sleep and Utsav was playing with his dolls on the Vishwakarma puja I went to Kolkata and came back home at night probably around 8 or 8:30 p.m. moonlight fell on marshes house and through the window I could see Mashi trying to put Utsav to sleep by singing Ghum parani Mashi pishi so I didn't knock them . After a few days I went back to Kolkata again in the Durga Puja. Before departing I met mashi and Utsav. Utsav asked me , "My toffee??" I assured him that I will definitely bring him good toffees as I come back from Kolkata.
Almost one month later , I returned home from Kolkata. I went to mashi's house but saw no lamps were lit. The house was totally in darkness. I thought they might have been asleep so I started my journey back home. My home was on the other bank of river Champa . As I boarded on the boat to cross the river I heard a weeping sound. I focused on the sound and exactly heard a woman crying, but it suddenly disappeared .
Next morning I went to the river bank while my mother was still asleep. But I found some people standing in a huddle and mourning over someone's death . Moving ahead of the crowd, I find Chaabi Mashi. Her lifeless body was lying in the quagmire! Har clothes were grubby , a bunch of her curly hair lying in the mud was untidy and baffled. She jumped into the water and died .
Mashi was no more !!!
Immediate after realizing this my mind became filled with tears. I wanted to cry but holding back my emotions I asked a man beside, "Where is her son?? Utsav? " The man said, "Her son?? He had died long back" .
Hearing this I couldn't hold back my tears any more. I burst out into tears and screamed , "O my dear Utsav!!" I asked the man, "How did he die ?" The man said, "His mother was cooking when Utsav was playing with his dolls. The toddler came to the river bank and accidentally slipped and fell into the wwater. The demon Champa dragged him away, he sunk in the river forever . From then on the woman was mentally distorted. She came to the river bank, cried every night and left in the morning. Yesterday also we heard her weeping and this morning we find her dead! Maybe out of the sorrow of her son's death she jumped into the river and died!
The toffee I brought for Utsav remained in my hands!!
I will never be able to see Utsav in my entire life this grief will stay with me forever I don't know why I but I couldn't threw away the toffee I was feeling like to hug Utsav, take him into my arms and kiss him and say , " See dear! your didi has brought you the toffee you were waiting for! "
As the usual days I was going to school by the side of mashi's house. The house don't have the beauty and daintiness like before! The house is crumbling. Many flowers have bloomed in the trees a lot of weeds have grown around the house. Bhavananda left his job in Kolkata and came here a few months back but he too died a few days ago due to serious illness .
Today there is no one in that house !
Son and mother's laughter can no longer be heard there ! A few red- blue flowers on the stock of the Chrysanthemum Aparajita tree blooms every morning and evening. Seeing those flowers on the lap of the trees I aggrieved, "O God ! why did you destroy the trees and flowers of that house ?? how beautifully the baby flower had bloomed in the Mother's lap - Utsav giggling in mashi's lap.
After losing them why did you just keep those bell flowers blooming? You drop them too. Having flowers in a house with no mother and son is just a ridicule! "

Prompt request: from the lovely @darley1101 113: “ Where did all these puppies come from?” Thank you, I had so much pleasure in writing this. I hope I made them justice and I hope you will like it. Sorry that this is SO long and took it so much time to complete.
Author note’s: English is not my first language, so here maybe a lot of incorrect word spellings or wrong sentence structured, if so please let me know in DM so I can improve please. Also all characters belongs to Pixelberry and not to me unfortunately or fortunately to them. A
I also would love to thanks @fluffy-marshmallow-heart who kept up with me and all my sneak peaks to her. Thank you love, this really helped as I wasn’t sure where to take it. Also all our Beckett talks definitely helped.
Summary: All actions happens on Maeve’s birthday prior “The night is not over yet” and after “Drowning”. In this AU Maeve is haunted not just by shadow monsters during the day, but also at night in her dreams making her to drown every time, until Beckett finds out and his presence and love makes her able to fight this monsters in her dreams. In this part Beckett makes something very special to her, what she always subconsciously wanted and what connects her with her parents and her memories of them.
Warning: No warnings except one steamy scene towards the end. Also this is very very long fiction.
Word count: approx. 5841 words

Maeve ran through the field of shining flowers, her long gilded hairs bouncing and light summer dress fluttering in the wind. This was the first time in months, when she was truly happy: no pressure from exams and study, no nightmares and shadow monsters, but more importantly she had a person who loved her the way she is with all her flaws and baggage. And he had asked her to meet him at their secret spot where he showed her for the first time the golden potion’s miracle.
Easily, she ran up to the bridge filled with sunlight. Golden sunbeams bounced off the bridge rails as if playing “tag” game with each other. Maeve smiled softly noticing lonely figure leaning against the bridge beam looking in the shimmering waters. He was deeply absorbed in his thoughts, fiddling with something nervously, totally oblivion to the fact that he is not alone anymore.
- Guess who, - murmured Maeve softly, stealing up from behind and covering his eyes. Her warm breath caressing his skin, her lips are close to his ear grazing along earlobe. She could feel how his breath hitches and pulse quickens from the simple touch.
- Hey, Birthday girl, - he whispers gently, taking her hands in his and turning to face her, encircling his arms around her slim waist and pressing soft kiss to her lips curled in the smile.
- So why did you wanted to see me? And don’t tell me that you simply missed me. I will never buy, that the Beckett Harrington we all know and love would ditch his study time to spend it with his girlfriend just for simple pleasure to see her.
- What??? Why…? - he stumbles over his words, - And for your information I… I missed you in fact, - he could feel the blush rising up his cheeks from his hasty confession.
- Beckett, what are you up to, - purred Maeve raising her brow in warning, - Do you really think I didn’t noticed everyone’s strange behaviour this whole week? - she smiled at him seductively, biting her lower lip and slightly tilting her head to the side letting her hair to flow over her shoulder.
- Shit, - muttered Beckett under his breath, his lips parted and his eyes following her rosy tongue running over hers seductively, - I told her you will noticed and I’m not the best distraction, but Shreya insisted, - he whispered guiltily, dropping his head, but still following the tip of her tongue tracing the outline of lips making them to glisten, - Are you angry?
- Do I look like one? - spoke she with mischievous smile, - besides, whatever you planned will give me the opportunity to spend today with you. You … you did not change your mind because I saw through you? Didn’t you, - anxiously asked she, looking up at him with eyes full of hope.
- Mae, I definitely didn’t change my mind. And I missed you so much, - breathy whispered Beckett to her ear and then kissing her on the lips softly, - Besides, I have planned something just for you. I hope this will make some of your birthday wishes to come true, - he murmured.
- I missed you, - spoke Maeve closing her eyes, her head safely tucked under Beckett’s chin and his hands firmly enclosed around her waist. She wanted to stay in this moment forever closely pressed to him, inhaling his scent. But before she could protest, he gently released her from his embrace placing soft kiss to her forehead and taking her hand in his, intertwining their fingers.
- Follow me, - and before she can say anything, he gently tugged her after him to the shimmering gold portal in front of them. When they came through it to the other side she blinked from the bright light filling all space and dazzling with its brightness. Her breath caught in awe, when she started to take in her surroundings. She looked at the miles of sand and ocean in front of her. The sand was softly golden, warm and comforting. The turquoise ocean was stretched in every direction to the horizon, gently caressing the shore. The bright blue sky was filled with sunlight and falling into the ocean was breaking into a mosaic of reflected colours. Her eyes got wider, while her face lit with happiness and sparks of recognition flew straight through her.
- Where are we? Are we…?, - she asked, her voice shaking and her eyes veiled with tears, when childhood memories start to flood her.
- This is Aruland, - he replied softly tucking strand of hair behind her ear and brushing the tears from her eyes with his thumb.
- How do you…, - her voice almost breaking from overpowering emotions and she cannot complete her sentence.
- I… I may have spoken with Shreya and Professor Swan, - confessed Beckett looking guiltily, - if you don’t like here, we can…
- No, - she quickly interrupted him, - I love here. This place… this place reminds me of my parents, they used to brought us here before everything bad happened. I loved being here. I just… I never thought that I will see this place ever again. Thank you.
- Let’s go, there is something here that I want to share with you, - he spoked smiling at Maeve, watching her taking off her shoes and stepping onto the golden sand. Following her lead Beckett done the same joining her on the warm and fluffy sand, taking her hand in his and started to lead her along the beach. They walked in a silence for a moment, their fingers intertwined. Everything around them sparkled and played in different colours. The fresh breeze caressed their skin like a lightest feather in the world. The ocean singed for them in ancient language of mermaids.
- Beckett, where are we going? - asked Maeve finally breaking the silence slowly coming to the halt and turning to face him. Her warm eyes meeting his gaze. Her face lit up by the ray of sun making her squint and scrunch nose, her eyes sparked with curiosity.
- What in concept of surprise you don’t understand? - But… you didn’t tell that this is surprise, - Maeve giggled catching his stunned look.
- Shit. But I thought… isn’t it obvious? Whatever, I prepared is a surprise. So… - Come on… Beckett, you somehow found out what my deepest wish is and I just need to know what else you prepared. Please?
- Mae, you will find out all in it’s own time. I promise you. We will be there soon. Do you trust me? - I do, - whispered Maeve. And Beckett could feel how a blush creeps up his neck.
- Than just follow me and I promise you, that everything you wished for will come true today, - he carefully tucked loose strand of hair behind her ear. His voice barely above the whisper hoarse with emotions. His eyes pleading with hers full of worry and love, - Or at least… at least I hope some of them will, - Maeve can hear his voice breaking a little and then watched as the shade of red in his face turned deeper.
- Okay, - she replied, squeezing his hand and letting him lead herself further along the beach.
It took them another twenty minutes to get to intended destination. The area was well hidden from the beach’s visitors, who anyway were rare in this time of the year. Getting closer to the destination Maeve’s heart started to beat faster, and Beckett nervously fiddled with her fingers, leading her forward. “This cannot be,” Maeve thought to herself, “how on earth he even knows about this place? How this place didn’t stop existing after…” her thoughts were interrupted by the gentle squeeze of Beckett’s hand, when they reached the entrance in the big colourful bushes. He let her in, staying a step behind and holding his breath. He could hear her inhale sharply, when her eyes absorbed what they saw. Her eyes widened and Beckett could swear that he could hear gasp of surprise escaping her throat before she could stop it.
- Beckett…, - she breathed looking at the wooden tables with a different magick animals on them waiting for adoption. But among all this sparkling magick her attention was caught by a number of little fluffy creatures running and playing all over the area unaware of visitors. Her eyes veiled with tears when she looked around, feeling her heart burst from overwhelming emotions flooding over her. She could feel Beckett’s warm hand wrapping securely around her waist. His lips gently brushed against her earlobe and she can sense his hot breath caressing her skin even before he started to speak.
- Do you really like it? - Beckett’s voice hoarse and his breath hitches. - Do you need to ask? - responded Maeve in a whisper, facing him, her small hand cupping his face before kissing him. - Where did all these puppies come from? - she asked breaking the kiss. Not waiting for a reply she kneeled in front of a little creature that tried to catch her attention by pocking hers leg with his black velvety nose.
Beckett sank to his knees beside Maeve stroking little puppy behind the ear and patting his silky fur. His eyes fixed on the girl with the radiating smile beside him, not able to look away from her. His hand still on the small of her back.
- Mae, - he murmured softly, kissing her on a cheek watching with admiration how she gently takes a puppy on her lap. He could see, how her nose scrunches with giggles, while little puppy trying to reach her face and lick it with his small pink tongue.
- This should be Mr. Harrington, - asked a nice woman startling them both. Beckett stood up quickly, embarrassedly stretching his hand to shake - Good afternoon Mrs. Thompson. We had a phone call a couple of weeks ago and you were kindly agreeing to let us to volunteer here. I know that this is not the busiest season, but…
- We always need more hands. So if you and your girlfriend is up to volunteer. Who am I to reject this kind offer, as specially after what you have done for this place and still keep doing? Do you knew that if not Mr. Harrington, we would never be able to keep this place up and running, - her smiling emerald eyes moved to Maeve, who had risen from knees.  She still held a puppy, giggling at his attempts to run in the air quickly pawing in it. Woman’s eyes gone wider in recognition, - Oh my god, this.. are you…? are you Maeve Raven? Daughter of Mrs. Alexandra and Mr. Samuel Raven?
- Yea, I’m, - whispered Maeve, her giggling stopped abruptly and silence hang in the air, - if this is “The Shelter of Sun and Moon”, - asked she after a minute of silence, watching the woman nod, - but I thought… I thought this place stopped existing after mum and dad…
- No, it doesn’t, - Mrs. Thomson interrupt her,- As much as it was hard to maintain this shelter open after your parents’ death, we knew how much it meant to them. But let’s not get all sad, as specially not on your birthday, young miss, - quickly added the woman watching Maeve’s eyes become watery with tears, - As I said before, we could really use couple of extra hands. This little fellow are all cute and funny, but they need some extra pair of eyes to watch after them. Are you up for the job?
- We are… We definitely are, - stepped in Beckett, taking Maeve by the hand and leaded her to the big pile of small puppies. He noticed that she still holds up to the small wriggling puppy in her hands. His eyes soften and he smiles helping Maeve to sit on the floor. He watched her as she gently separated two puppies who couldn’t share something nibbling on each other’s ears and making funny noises vaguely similar to growl. Her laugh blithely rang as thousands of silver bells through the air, echoing in space. The midday sun shined straight at her making her glow, her eyes warm as a cup of hot latte with a deep forest-green. And when she smiled, her eyes ignited with a dazzling warmth of the deep brown, while the green danced around its edges seductively. His eyes slowly slid across her face taking in every single detail: small wrinkles around her eyes while smiling; her scrunched nose when she giggled; a little blush on her cheeks; her parted lips and tongue seductively running along them.
- Beckett, how do you even know about this place, - suddenly asked Maeve raising her eyes on Beckett, whose eyes were still fixed on her lips following the mesmerising movement of her tongue, - Did you actually know, where you taking me?
- I came across this place a couple of years ago, when my father took me with him on a business trip. He… he wanted to build some huge shopping centre at this location. Everyone yielded to my father’s pressure, except this place. To be honest, to say I was surprised wouldn’t be enough. I was intrigued by this place, by staff dedication to this shelter. I couldn’t understand it at first, but something drew me to this place and it became important to me, - he lightly stroked sandy coloured puppy behind the ear, smiling at his attempts to crawl onto his lap, finally pulling him up, - so I started to volunteer there. Helping the staff out, the best I could. So answering your second question… I didn’t know what this place was at first. But after you walked into my life, I discovered that this place was founded by your parents. So yes, I knew where I was taking you. Maeve’s eyes were clouded with tears and she slowly drew herself closer to him, their lips touching in the gentle unhurried kiss.
- Beckett, what Mrs. Thomson meant when she said earlier that if not you they wouldn’t be able to keep this place up and running? - Maeve whispered when their broke apart, they foreheads pressed together, breathing each other’s air, they eyes closed enjoying the moment of closeness.
- I… I have no idea, - he whispered, feeling how the blush creeping up his neck, stroking her cheek with his thumbs, puppies still on their laps. - Beckett…, - murmured Maeve with a hint of warning in her voice.
- Mae, I… I enjoyed volunteering here. This place it changed me somehow, letting me to care for something else except my good grades or my family’s expectations. I saw that staff found it difficult to keep this place running, but they tried. After my father's next attempt to broke them, to his demands, I couldn’t look at it anymore, so… so I donated some money I had as I couldn’t see this people and familiars and this attuneless little friends to be left out. I felt like I need to help them, that this somehow my fault that father wants them out, - they fell in the silence for a moment both deep in their own thoughts.
- Thank you, - she breathed, placing her hand on his lap and moving even closer to him, placing her head on his shoulder.
-Mae, when I planned this I hoped… I know this is a lot to ask, but…, - he blushed and looked away, - Shoot… Okay, I want to adopt one of this little puppies with you. They are not popular in the attuned world, but I… I want to do this, do you want to adopt them with me?, - he lowered his gaze on his lap, not daring to meet her eyes.
-Beck, - she gasped gently lifting his head with her fingertips to meet her eyes, - I would love to. My parent always wanted to get one for me and… and my sister. But they never had a chance.
-Than this is decided. Let’s do this, - he smiled kissing her and nibbling her lower lip playfully making her to giggle, - also I checked school rules and this is not against them, so we can adopt this adorable creature.
They spent another couple of hours by playing with puppies, taking care of them and watching them not to hurt each other. Learning everything what they need to know about this little creatures. When the sun got higher, they found Mrs. Thomson, letting her know, that they would want make another donation to her parents' shelter and they want to adopt black brown fluffy with a white chest who attracted Maeve’s attention. Laughing and smiling to their new addition they made their way out promising to come back. Standing outside they watched the ocean for a moment, big waves lapping up and down the shore. Beckett’s hands were wrapped around Maeve’s waist and his chin resting on her shoulder breathing in her scent of lavender and wildberries. She could feel his hand slip into his pants pocket getting something from it and then starting slowly and sensually run along her hands. Her eyes closes from pleasing sensations, goosebumps rise up, feeling his burning breath on the notch of her neck. She can sense his hands went up to her face and froze, his breath quickened.
- Do you trust me? - he asked huskily, his voice barely audible caressing her as a light feather on the wind. She noded, leaning back into his arms, feeling the silk slipping on her face covering her eyes securely. She can feel he carefully takes her hand in his, thumb caressing her knuckles, her slim fingers were engulfed by his. His other arm on a small of her back, leading her carefully forward watching her every step and making sure she doesn’t stumble. Maeve can feel the fresh ocean salty breeze caressing her smooth and warm skin. The puppy in her hand trying to break free wiggled his little body, and she could feel Beckett’s voice so close to her ear, tickling it by his breath.
- You know, that you can send him to ether also or to our friends, - he breathes softly, his voice filled with warming smile, she could feel it in her bones, she can see it even with closed eyes. Maeve can feel him carefully taking the puppy from her hands, feeling sudden chill when his arms let’s go of her. She can hear him whisper something in ancient language and then his hands are back against her skin, warm and gentle, - don’t worry love, he will be fine I sent him to our friends, they will look after him,- he said gently, brushing lips along her temple making shivers run down her whole body and leading her to their final destination.
Maeve could feel them edging to the edge of the shore, her sunkissed hairs fluttering from intensifying wind gusts when they approached waters, her bare feet touching the wet sand. She gasped, when a cold wave swept over her feet and rolled away embarrassed by the touch. Her breath quickened and she squeezed Beckett’s hand feeling him squeeze it back. His fingertips soothingly draw a patterns on her lower back and he can hear his strong voice ringing out over the ocean:
Ab origine ad undas, a mari usque ad mare, noli me tangere, hic et nunc apertus. [Translation: From the source to the waves, from sea to sea, do not touch me, here and now open]
Her eyes widening under the soft blindfolds in recognition. She remembers these word. This was so many times during the summer breaks when she heard her dad used them here in front of the majestic ocean, the kingdom of mermaids. It seemed ages ago now… “Can it be?” thought Maeve, her heart fluttering as butterflies in the field. She could feel them stepping forward on the still wet sand.
- Mae, may I? - he murmurs releasing her hand and the next thing he feels is him quickly swooping her in his arms tapping his leg on the ground. She gasped from the feeling of him quickly moving to meet the wind carefully holding her in his arms. She feels safe like nothing bad can happen when they are together. The same way she feels every time, when he holds her at night until she drifts to sleep securely wrapped in his embrace, before monsters come back… before drowning begins. She gasps when the movements stop as abruptly as it begins, feeling Beckett gently lowers her to the ground taking her hand in his once again murmuring to her:
- Be Careful, we will need to get up the stairs, - says Beckett gently helping her to make a first step up, watching her while they get higher, holding her so that she would not stumble, - Sorry, I didn’t think this through, - mumbled he when she almost fell taking the next step, - but I couldn’t use Super speed on these stairs this would be too risky to do. I could lift you up. Can I? - waiting for her silent nod, he scooped her in his arms and confidently walked up.
After some time, Maeve could feel Beckett lowering her down once again. His gentle fingers tugged her blindfold, slipping it to her legs, making her blink from the bright sun shining above them. Her eyes widened in shock as she looked around. They stood on the restaurant’s platform and in front of them the vast expanse of the turquoise ocean shimmered in multiple colours. She could feel Beckett held his breath waiting for her reactions, he stood behind her, his hands on her waist, inhaling her scent of lavender and wildberries.
- This is perfect, - she murmured, turning to meet his soft sea blue eyes. He can feel her heart beating faster, when she takes his hand placing it over her heart, her eyes fill with tears, - Thank you, - she whispered her voice rasped with emotions, her lips slowly captured his in a lingering kiss.
- Let’s go, - Beckett replies in a soft caring voice, taking her to registration area, where they were met by a friendly-looking waiter, - I have reservation for two under the name of Mr. Harrington.
After checking the details and reservation’s book, they were taken to the back of the restaurant. They followed the waiter through the room lit by natural light  and came outside on another side of the platform. Maeve gasped looking in front of her noticing a small drifting platform in the distance with the single table connected to the main part by a glass path. She sighed with admiration when her foot touched the transparent surface and the only things that indicated the edges of the path were small candles standing between the glass columns illuminated with blue moonlight. She sighed again, looking around. She recognised this place from her dad’s stories, but she never been in this part of the restaurant. Walking along the path she noticed that each pair of glass columns were entwined by their own plants and they all were in different colours creating the illusion of a rainbow. Maeve looked down stepping carefully on the glass her eyes focused on the shimmering water under her feet, her heart fluttered looking in the depth of the ocean. Beckett could feel her hand tightened on him, while her eyes met with his with increasing panicking in them and her breath became shallow. “Shit”, Beckett swore, shutting his eyes for a second and reassuringly squeezing her hand, “I should have known… Idiot… I should have known better… This nightmares… they are related to water… and here is water everywhere around us… Fucking idiot…” He could feel his own panic raising, but instead to surrender to it he brushed his thumb soothingly over her knuckles again and again, feeling her breath calms down and fear retreats. And with her fears gone, she could feel increasing excitement with every step they made toward the table feeling Beckett’s eyes focused on her and his fingers brushing against her soft skin. When they finally reached their table Beckett thanked the waiter, holding chair for Maeve to sit and had briefly brushed his hands across her shoulders as he pushed the chair in.
- Thank you, - she said softly waiting for him to take his place across the table, but instead of this he moved his chair closer to her. The table they were sited on was covered by sky turquoise tablecloth and two sets of silver cutlery were placed near to them by the same waiter who showed them the table. In a moment he silently came with a menu and a bottle of shining sunset's drink Maeve never tried before. The beautiful coral vase was placed in the middle of the table with magical bouquet of enchanting flowers in it. The small blue and white flowers as stars at night were sparkling among the golden and red sun's flowers, and to top it off the bouquet had satin turquoise ribbon attached to it. The bouquet smelled like an ocean breeze with a hint of metal in it, the smell she knew too well to confuse it with anything else. She could feel her cheeks started to burn with heat raising up, blushing she averted her gaze from flowers to the tall glass in front of her. She could see the golden drink with the mother-of-pearl sheen was swirling in it and spirals of steam were raising up in the air.
- Are you okay, - Beckett asked his voice thick with emotions, - I’m so sorry, Mae… I’m such an idiot…
-Beck, I’m fine, - she interrupted him cupping his cheek with her small gentle hand, feeling his lips grazing over her palm, - I’m fine and I love it here. - Really?
- Really… This is the best birthday I ever had and I’m better than fine, - she could feel her eyes are filled with tears from overwhelming emotions, - I couldn’t even dare to wish for all of this to come true. Since my parents’ and my sister’s death no one even cared to make this day special to me. And today… Beck, I don’t know how or even why, but you made this all for me. And I cannot wish for nothing else. I’m here with the person who makes me feel safe and secure, who done all of this for me and who is so worried that this makes my heart burst from all emotion I even cannot express. So yes, I’m really truly love it here and I’m more than fine. I’m happy.
He smiled gently to her reaching for her hand, opening his mouth to say something, but shut it close when noticing the waiter approaching them with the tray in his hands.
- Mae, I hope it is fine with you, if I’ll already ordered our meal, - murmured Beckett in a husky voice. His fingers caressing hers gently without taking his metallic eyes off her, waiting for the waiter to place the plates in front of them.
- I’m sure I’ll love it, - she replied thanking the waiter who lifted the covers from the plates, and exclaimed, when she looked on the plate in front of her, - Beckett, are these…? - she gasped looking on a little gold plated balls with white fluttering wings and blue souse on the side.
- Yes, this is Golden cheddar's sun, - replied Beckett watching her taking a bite, dipping golden ball in a blue yorba eggs sauce. He could see a drop of sauce left in the corner of her mouth resisting the urge to lick it off, instead he brushes it off with his thumb, his eyes never leaving her parted lips. Maeve broke into a gentle smile. While enjoying their starter they hold hands, separating to take a bite or have a gulp of drink.
- Beck, this is perfect, - murmured she, returning her gaze to the flowers on the table after they had the main course that contained her favourite Sunshine's Chicken Piccatas with a blue cheese dressing in a basket of a golden flower. She liked this mix of sweet and sour flavour with scorching notes. Waiting for the dessert they seat leaning closer to each other their fingers intertwined. His fingers drawn slow patterns on hers, he leaned closer to her catching her lips with his, gently nibbling at her lower lip grazing his teeth on the sensitive skin eliciting moan from her. Letting go of her hands he placed one hand on her neck pulling her closer to him deepening the kiss, demanding her to open her mouth for him. Sliding his tongue inside her warm sweet mouth he felt like his blood start to boil and his heart pounding in perfect sync with hers, his head spinning from intoxicating sensations. He slowly started to slide his other hand from her waist to the hem of her dress. His fingers grazing her silky skin just below it, desperately wanting to slip his hand under her dress. He groaned kissing her fiercely, clutching the edges of her dress, struggling against his desire to lift it higher. He desperately wanted to lift her dress and slide her onto his lap to straddle him. He could feel the pressure of his hardness pressing at the front fly of his pants making him shift in his chair, groaning into her mouth. He felt her gentle hand placed over his heart and another one sliding to his lap so dangerously close to his hardness and so innocently, not realising how this simple touch of her hand impacts him. He kissed her hungrily, as a thirsty man in a desert, for a moment forgetting about everything around them… until he heard someone cleared his throat. Breathlessly they broke apart, their eyes still dark from desired, their chests heaving. They both felt the blush rise up their necks, looking towards the waiter at the same time and thanking him for the dessert.
- There is just one dessert, - stated Maeve, looking at the golden sauce running from the mermaids' fountains on lower plate, while on the top plate blue chocolate fountain was jetted. She licked her lips noticing different fruits and berries placed on a smaller round plates on the sides.
- I thought we could share the dessert, - babbled Beckett, averting his gaze and feeling his ear tips becoming red, - emmm, if you want I.... I can order another one.
- Beck, we can share, it's much more fun, - she purred catching his warm metallic gaze with her melted chocolate's eyes. She deliberately slowly took a brightly red berry dipping it into blue chocolate and golden sauce and brought it to his lips. He opened his mouth taking the berry gently from her hands, sliding his lips over her fingers sucking off the remnants of the sauce, not leaving her gaze.
The remaining evening, they fed each other different berries and fruits trying to surprise each other by finding different combinations and tastes. They laughed freely, holding hands and kissing each other savouring every moment of the remaining of this day, leaving with the last rays of the sun. Beckett gently tucked a naughty strand of hair behind Maeve's ear looking deeply in her eyes. His lips moving closer to hers again, but instead of pressing them to hers he murmured in a hoarse voice: - Mae, I love you.
- Beck, I... I love you too, - she whispered, tears rolling down her cheeks, but happy smile played on her parted lips. She remembered how her dad told her their love story, that on the back of this restaurant on the glass platform he said to her mum "I love you" for the first time, promising her that they would never part until death part them. So she never been here, but she knew about this platform and always wished to see this place that meant so much to her parent, - I love you, - she whispered again, placing a sweet kiss to Beckett's lips. The sun almost set and the moon went up to the starry sky.
- It's getting dark, - murmured Beckett pulling Maeve to him and looking at the starry sky, - I have the last birthday gift for you, - he said quietly, taking her hand in his and helping her get up from the table, leading her to a large telescope on the edge of the platform pointing to the moon, - Maeve… I know you miss your sister. I don’t know what have happened between you… And I don’t ask, but today I want you to be closer to her or at least be able to say goodbye to her.
- Beckett, I don’t….
- Mae, I know you need it. I know you want it. Come here, - he slowly tugs her closer to telescope pointing on the moon, his hand gently placed on her hips. He stands behind holding his breath listening to her shouts in the open space, watching tears flowing down her cheeks in the moonlight glow. Her expressions change from anger to despair, from despair to sadness, from sadness to pain and finally from pain to relief. Whatever pain or anger she hold inside was gone and it was replaced by relief and happiness. She turned back to Beckett finally releasing telescope and looked at him gently.
- Thank you. Thank you for everything you have done for me today, - she murmured and tiptoeing to press gentle unhurried kiss to his lips, letting him to deepen it. He slipped his tongue between her invitingly parted lips, slowly exploring it catching her sweet moans with his mouth.
- Mae, we need to leave or otherwise Shreya will kill me for keeping you for a whole day to myself, -Beckett whispered breaking their kiss and causing Maeve to whimper in protest. He pressed quick kiss to her temple, encircling his arms firmer around her waist, - I hope as was promised some of your birthday wishes came true today, - breathed Beckett nosing into her thick golden hair.
- I couldn’t wish for a better birthday, - purred she, placing one last lingering kiss to Beckett’s lips.
- The night is not over yet, - whispered he softly taking her hand in his before walking together in the opening in the portal.

Where There Are Shadows Pt 28
I literally was going to skip shit and write an ending but honestly that’s cheap and I enjoy writing this and enjoy sharing it with you guys.
This is prob all fluff. Again. But tbh LUCIEN NEEDS TO BE HAPPY
So that’s like. Goals.
.
.
.
-Lucien-
I had been to the Day Court countless times since I’d become emissary for Tamlin. I had seen most of its palace. The gardens. Its people. I had visited the villages in the mountains, I’d gone hunting with the riders in the plains. But I had never walked through its streets as its people gathered to welcome me to their home with song and music, children laughing and playing trying to get a look at ‘our High Lord’s son’ as others threw rose petals from their balconies.
Half way through the city I saw Padmini standing with a garland of flowers in her hand, her attendants behind her. She smiled at me the way she smiled at Helion. At my mother.
“Welcome home, Lucien,” she said as she placed the garland around my neck. She greeted Helion and my mother with eager hugs before she led us to the palace. The singing, the cheering- it didn’t stop the entire way.
At the palace, before the open doors, stood two High Fae. Females. Their skin as deep and rich as Helion’s. They were smiling just as brightly, if not brighter, at my arrival. The younger one resembled Helion, even her eyes. Beneath her yellow veil, her long black hair flowed over her shoulder. The older one, as small as Madja but standing as proud as any High Lord held a silver plate in her hands. Her ebony veil was pinned to the low bun at the nape of her neck. Her hair was grey. Something about that made my heart swell with joy.
Both females met us at the foot of the stairs. Padmini got down on one knee, bringing her hands to the older female’s feet before gently touching her forehead. When she stood, Helion and my mother did the same.
I froze, unsure of how to greet them. I had never seen them before, but Helion had bowed for her. She had to be-
“Lucien, this is my mother, Shreya,” Helion said as he threw an arm around my shoulder. Then he gave a sigh and waved his hand at the younger female. “My sister, Parineeti.”
Parineeti glared at him before she looked at me and smiled.
“Welcome home,” Shreya said, and as I went to kneel before her, she gently placed a hand on my shoulder. She gave me a smile as she bade me stand. I noticed the plate held a small flame, flowers and incense. There were tears in her eyes as she circled the plate before me. A blessing, I realized.
Soon enough, we were inside the palace where more fae waited… Waited to actually see me. Saying my name and throwing flower petals. Smiling. Singing. All the way until we made it to the throne room- perhaps one of the most beautiful in all of Prythian.
Helion led both my mother and I towards the dais where his golden throne waited. And at either side, its mirror image. In height. In the sunburst at the very top as if to say ‘this is where the sun rises, where it sets’. And with the way the sun shone into the room, the way it bounced off its mirrors, I could believe it. Shreya and Parineeti went to sit some feet away from the dais on a cushioned seat where a little gold table stood, covered in trays of drinks and food. I had a feeling that was where Feyre would enjoy being when I brought her here.
“For my son,” Helion said loud enough for all to hear. He guided me towards the seat which put me at his right hand. My mother was beaming when she sat down to his left, confident. Happy. At home amongst them all. The throne was cool when I sat down, but it was comfortable. This place needed no magic to fight against nature. Helion welcomed the sun, welcomed the light and in return, the Day Court had no need for the glamours and the falsehoods that I’d come to know in Autumn.
Music started up in the throne room, some fae danced as others began to file in line… bearing gifts.
“I’d wanted to wait… To give you time to adjust, but mother would not hear it,” he said as he leaned over to me.
“They hardly know me… Is this…” I had no word to explain. What had I done to deserve any of this? For a moment, looking at him was like looking in the mirror. What reason would Helion have to feel doubts?
“They remember you, the emissary who treated them like his equal. And for that kind, considerate male to be my son… Well, their joy is tenfold.”
I sighed. “I’m not used to this. Any of this.”
“They are welcoming you home… Think of it as a very overdue birthday.”
That made me laugh, and it seemed Helion needed that as much as I did. He relaxed a bit more in his seat and called the first guest forward.
I was given more garlands of flowers. Bundles of silks, jewels. A child had brought me ‘the prettiest flower’ they could find, and I had it pinned to my tunic which made the little thing beam with joy. Some offered songs, music, poetry. Others, sweets and fruits. On and on this went until the room became a melody of song and dance. My mother pulled Helion off his throne to join them all. She belonged here. I saw it in how she smiled. She knew their songs, their dances.
“Come along, nephew. You grew up without our customs, but now you have no excuse not to learn them.” Parineeti held her hand out to me.
“You’re not going to make me sing, are you?”
She laughed. “Gods, no. But mother might.”
I looked over to where Shreya sat, clapping her hands. Parineeti laughed again.
“I’m teasing. Come dance with us.”
By the night’s end, I was grateful that my mother led me to the room prepared for me. I had been hugged and kissed within an inch of my life and Helion had teased his mother for it, earning a swat to the back of his head with her delicate sandal.
“I’m certain you must be tired,” she said softly.
“A little.”
She smiled. “Mother wakes before the sun to walk to the temple for prayers. Sometimes I go with her, but today was a very long day. You, darling, can sleep to your heart’s content.”
“Is it always so… lively?”
She giggled as she reached for the door.
“Most of the time. Helion likes to go out to his lands to take care of their petitions. Whenever he comes back, it’s always cause for celebration.” Whenever he comes back… He had left the Day Court once, and never returned. Fifty years, it had taken fifty years for us to be free.
“And what do you do when he’s gone?”
She giggled as she opened the door. I gasped at what I saw. It was so large, the townhouse could fit inside and still have room for more. The bed would fit Azriel and Feyre with their wings completely stretched out. And the windows- stained glass. Everything was rich in color, colors I had no name for.
“Padmini and I take care of the finances of the palace as well as the whole of the Court itself. He likes it when I write the official letters he sends out from time to time. But I think it’s because he’s lazy.”
I chuckled. I thought of Rhysand, watching me work with that stupid grin on his face. And Feyre, she would love the stained-glass windows. I could see her sitting on the floor, sketching while Rhys and I lazed about.
“I also like to go swimming, which I hope to do with you soon. You’ll love the water gardens.”
I could only nod as she led me to the closet. It was bigger than our bedroom. I smiled, Rhys would die happy in here, even if the clothing was anything but black.
“I didn’t know you swam, mother.”
She giggled. “I learned the first time I came here. But that was ages ago.”
With a wave, I knew that subject was done for the night.
“I haven’t seen the water gardens,” I admitted. Court matters had restricted me to the throne room of the palace, or the villa near the mountains. The villa was to him what the townhouse was for Rhysand. Except, Helion truly enjoyed his palace home.
“If you see something you don’t like, let us know. I’ll have it replaced. You have to go see the clothiers. Between you and I,” she said, lowering her voice. “I go sit and watch them sew sometimes. I’ve been learning a few things here and there. I’m working on a little surprise for your father.”
Her face turned red but I just smiled. She led me back out to the bedroom, telling me of a morning when Helion had been so hung over that she’d held court in his stead.
“The poor bastard waltzed into the room to find I’d already handled everything on my own.”
The pride on her face, the ease in which she spoke her mind… It tugged on my heart. I took her by the hand, perhaps too suddenly as she looked up at me with concern.
“I know today was a bit… overwhelming.” She brought her free hand to my face and passed her thumb over my scars. The first time she’d seen me after… I’ll never forget how much she cried.
“It’s not that…”
“Rhysand and Feyre are more than welcome to come stay here. You know that.”
I chuckled. “I know. It’s not that. I- You’re happy, mother. I’ve never seen you this happy.”
She sighed and led me to the bed where we sat down. She held my hand in hers, and I noticed all the rings on her fingers. The many bangles she wore. Helion showered her with material wealth as well as affection. Dinner had been… interesting, to say the least.
“I know that I was not… I was never the mother that you needed. I was weak… and afraid.”
“I don’t blame you. Not for anything.”
She shook her head. “Every year I told myself I’d reach out to Helion, to tell him about you. To help us get out. And every year, I didn’t. And you grew up right before my eyes.”
“Mother…”
“I didn’t protect you when I should have, Lucien.”
I would have protested but I simply remained silent. She rested her head against my shoulder.
“Being with Helion, having his child… that had been my dream. From the moment I met him, I knew that I’d risk everything for that dream… But it was not enough. Never enough to keep you safe.”
“But you have that now. I’m here.”
“I know.”
A knock came to the door and soon enough, Helion was peering through.
“There you are. I was beginning to think my mother had stolen you off to pray.”
My mother laughed as she sat up straight.
“Your mother’s prayers are what keep you alive, you brute.”
He stepped into the room, laughing.
“Hm… I beg to differ.”
I grimaced, remembering what I’d overheard at dinner.
“No talk about begging.”
My mother flushed crimson as she rose to her feet. I did the same.
“I think you have traumatized him enough for one night, my love,” my mother said as she took his hand. She kissed his cheek and then came to me and did the same. “Sleep well, my little fox.”
Now I was blushing.
“Goodnight, Lucien,” Helion said as he reached for her hand.
“Good night.”
I woke up before sunrise. I had hardly slept, but I knew that I would not sleep anymore. Once I was dressed and my hair was braided, I stepped out of my room. The hallway was lit with fae light. As I roamed the halls, I noticed not one corner of the palace was in darkness. Strange, but I supposed that I’d been at the Night Court long enough to find comfort in darkness. I expected to find it everywhere. That at any moment, Rhys would step out of a shadow and come to annoy my soul.
I sighed, my eyes on a tapestry but not actually seeing it. What I had nearly said to Rhys… I could not have left him with that weight on his shoulders. I wasn’t sure how I’d manage without them until the Summer Solstice, but I knew this was where I needed to be.
I continued my aimless wandering until I heard the sound of someone screaming. I ran in that direction, ready for whatever I’d find. But I was not prepared for what I heard.
I stood before a set of double doors and on the other side, I heard my mother. I heard weeping.
“You’re safe, my love,” I heard my mother say. “The sun will be up soon, you’ll watch it with me, yes?”
Helion said something I couldn’t understand.
“There is no more darkness, Helion. We made it out.”
I felt my chest grow heavy and I stumbled back. It made sense now… The candles. The fae lights. And yet, he had stood with me in darkness to fetch my mother. I ran the other way. I had no idea where I was until I skidded to a halt. I found myself face to face with Shreya. She eyed me from where she stood, holding her little silver tray in her hands.
“Walk with me.”
So I did. She led me through another hallway until we were going down the stairs and out another corridor that brought us outside. Even out here, fae light floated over us wherever a candle could not be lit.
“My son has wounds that I cannot see. That I cannot heal.”
The path we walked was not paved, but it was worn from constant use.
“When we returned from the continent, your father put on such a display, I was foolish enough to believe he had left that hell unscathed. So that night, I made the mistake of ordering the candles to be put out that I might sleep. Helion had already gone to bed, what need had we for light?” She sighed. “How he knew the lights were gone, I will never know. But it was a mistake I will never make again. I could not survive seeing him suffer in that manner. Not again.”
“I understand,” I said quietly. Rhysand had not been able to say it out loud, but I knew.
“I know,” she said sadly. “I know.”
We made it to the temple right before the sun began to rise. When she removed her slippers, I removed my shoes. She seemed pleased by that. I offered to light the candles. That made her smile.
“It is fitting that my grandson has fire in his veins when the sun itself is all but flames. And it is that fire that lights our way in the shadows. But make no mistake, darkness is just as essential as the light. We cannot have one without the other.”
She gave me a knowing smile, and I was reminded of Elain.
“While I enjoy your company, I will be here a while. You may return to the palace, the cooks are no doubt preparing the morning meal and you need to eat.” She poked my side. And though it made me smile, I felt an ache in my chest. I couldn’t imagine walking back without her.
“I believe I’d like to stay, if that’s alright.”
Now she was on the verge of tears.
“Come, let me show you how we worship the gods here…”

Victor and Adam: NaNoWriMo Day 09
For the next few days Adam spent more time than usual in his room. Whenever Igor came to his door instead of saying “come in” he’d open the door a crack and poke his head out, refusing to let anyone come in. When asked what he was up to he’d just shrug and say it was just a “little project”, or “it’s a surprise”. Igor expressed his concerns to Victor who dismissed him. ‘He’s just being a teenager. Aren’t you the one always reminding everyone that’s what he is?’ ‘By everyone I suppose you mean yourself?’ Victor knew there was a second slight under the first but he decided not to say anything. ‘Well I’m sure it’ll be fine. Look he’s outside right now.’ He pointed to a figure that was undeniably Adam even from a distance. ‘Huh that’s odd.’ He added. ‘It looks like he’s headed towards town.’
Adam
Adam had never walked down the hill that lead into town before. Well that wasn’t entirely true. The first day, or should he say night, of his life he’d ran down it. Eventually he reached a point in the road where it split. On one hand you could continue on straight down the road until you reached the town. On the other you could turn right onto a footpath that lead into the woods. That first night he had gone straight on, sometimes he wondered how his life would have gone if he’d turned? But this time he turned right. This time he knew where he was going. As soon as he spotted Dr Ramaker he waved to him. The doctor waved back that huge grin on his face.
‘Adam! My dear boy. So glad to see you. Come take a walk with me.’ He began to head into the woods Adam quickly catching up to him.
‘So Adam how tall are you exactly?’ he asked as Adam ducked under a tree branch.
‘7 feet and 11 inches, though Igor thinks I’m still growing.’
‘My you are tall. Still I hear ladies like tall guys.’ Adam just blinked at him. ‘Or are you more into guys?’ Dr Ramaker added raising an eyebrow.
‘I’m. I’m not sure.’ Truth be told he was still figuring a lot of things out. He thought, was there anyone he liked that way? He liked Chelsea and Nate but only as friends. Then there was Shreya. He felt differently about her than his other friends. But he wasn’t sure what that different feeling was.
‘Well plenty of kids are still figuring themselves out. And most have had much longer to do so than you. Ah here seems like a good place to stop.’ Dr Ramaker said as he settled himself down on a log that lay across the path. Adam looked around only just realising they had stepped off the path. The trees were especially thick here as no one bothered to maintain them in the hope of keeping the paths clear for any hikers. In fact from here he couldn’t even make out the castles highest turret. It was a little unnerving thinking of how hidden they were, despite how little they’d walked. Or had they walked more than he’d realised? Truth was though he felt find Dr Ramaker was rubbing his legs and wincing.
‘Are you okay?’ he asked.
‘Give me a minuet. I did have to walk halfway up that blasted hill to meet you. Used to do this easily, I was even on the school track team. This is what working a desk job will do to you if you don’t give yourself enough free time.’ He stretched out his legs. ‘Ah that’s better. Now I don’t suppose you’ve brought any plans with you?’
‘Yeah one sec…’ he reached into his pocket and pulled out his notebook. After a quick flick through he found the page he was looking for. ‘Here,’ he said as he handed it to Dr Ramaker. The doctor looked intently at the page, occasionally muttering something to himself as he read through the notes. Then he looked back up at Adam.
‘Yes, I think this’ll do wonderfully. You really are clever aren’t you.’ Adam couldn’t help but grin back at him. He liked being called clever, not just for being able to learn things but for his own ideas.
‘Say have you had any other ideas? Not for this but in general?’ Dr Ramaker asked him. Adam nodded and started showing him some other things he’d come up with. Such as a machine for putting books away on the high shelves in the library, so you didn’t have to climb up a ladder.
Dr Ramaker took it all in with great enthusiasm.
‘Oh you are so clever. Victor must be so proud.’
‘Uh not really…’ Adam felt his spirits drop.
‘Whatever do you mean?’ Dr Ramaker asked his grin dropping. Adam shrugged.
‘I just don’t really bother showing him this stuff. Not much point when he’s not really interested in me.’
‘I’m sure that’s not true.’ Adam laughed in a hollow way.
‘Dr Ramaker you might be a genius but a psychic you are not. He only takes notice or even acts like he cares when he has to. Like last time I went into town something bad happened that put me off going back. He kept trying to get me to tell him what happened, though he never asked directly. He dropped it pretty quickly and at first I was kind off happy he seemed to care. But now I realise it was less about helping me and more about him hoping I’d spend more time out of the castle.’ He sighed suddenly feeling exhausted. Truth was he’d never really told anyone about all that. Igor worked for his dad which made things difficult, as much as he loved the old man, and it felt wrong bad mouthing him to Chelsea and Nate. But Dr Ramaker knew Victor. Maybe he could give him some reassurance?
‘I noticed you only called him Victor the other week.’ Dr Ramaker eventually said. Adam nodded.
‘I do think of him as my dad. But he insists I call him by his name. I guess he doesn’t want to acknowledge that…’
‘That you’re his son.’ Dr Ramaker finished. Adam nodded. Sighing the doctor pulled himself to his feet and placed a hand on Adam’s arm.
‘Your father is a smart man when it comes to the sciences. But when it comes to family he is a fool who doesn’t know what he has.’ He sighed. ‘You’re a good kid Adam. You deserve better. If you ever need to talk come see me at the inn. Please.’ Adam nodded. He was still scared to go into town but it was nice of Dr Ramaker to make the offer.
‘Now we’d best be getting back. I’m expecting a call and there’s no signal out here.’ The two made their way back before parting ways when they reached the road.
‘Oh and Adam!’ Dr Ramaker called after him. ‘I don’t suppose you have any idea how long your invention will take.’ Adam thought for a moment.
‘I can’t know for sure until I get started. Probably a couple of months at least.’ Dr Ramaker nodded.
‘Well if you need anything let me know. Money isn’t a problem.’ Adam called back that he would and made his way back home. When he stepped through the door he was surprised to find Igor waiting for him.
‘So where did you disappear to?’ he asked.
‘I just went for a walk. In the woods.’ Igor just shook his head.
‘Well you’re not to do that without telling someone ever again.’ Feeling a little embarrassed Adam apologised before heading upstairs. On the way he glanced at his phone and saw he had a missed call from Igor and a text from Nate asking him to call as soon as he could. It was from almost an hour ago. Wow had he really been gone that long?
‘Hey Nate.’ He said as soon as his friend picked up the phone.
‘Hey Adam I was just wondering if you want to come round mine tomorrow afternoon. It’s just my mums are taking my brothers and my little sister to a birthday party. So it’ll just me and Sascha and she’ll be in her room all day studying knowing her.’
‘Uh who’s Sascha?’ Adam asked.
‘My older sister. Well she’s not much older. Any way do you want to come.’ At first Adam wanted to say yes. But going to Nate’s meant going into town.
‘Uh… I’m not sure.’ Nate sighed.
‘Adam Chelsea told me about what happened. You can’t let some random person stop you from living your life. I know it’s hard believe me. But you can do it. Just take baby steps.’
‘It’s just the fact she knew. About, fuck I don’t even want to think about it.’
‘Loads of people know. It was on the news.’ Adam felt liked someone had drained all the blood from his body.
‘What?’
‘Yeah. Didn’t you know? You must have seen the cameras.’ Adam thought. He had seen cameras. But the whole thing had been so new, so confusing not to mention scary he hadn’t put much thought into what they were for.
‘Chelsea didn’t know.’ He eventually said.
‘Chelsea hasn’t followed a news story in ver life.’ Adam shook his head. He didn’t want to talk about this.
‘When you said you know it’s hard, what did you mean by that?’ This time Nate was quiet for a long time and Adam could swear he’d heard the creak of bed springs.
‘It’s not something I like talking about. You understand right? But when I was younger someone broke into our house and came into my room. I woke up with their hand over my mouth. And don’t ask me to say what happened next because I’m not talking about it. Anyway it messed up my head and I’m still dealing with that now. I mean I slept in my mums’ bed for nearly two years after that. They had to put me on medication so they could sleep without having to stop me from falling down the stairs trying to run away every night.’
‘That sounds like it sucks.’
‘Yeah. Well I don’t really remember that part. Though the panic attacks and the constantly looking over my shoulder when I first started leaving the house I remember. Still happens now in fact, though not as frequently.’
‘What’s a panic attack?’
‘It’s… Well I’m not sure how to explain what it is. But I can tell you it feels like someone’s crushing your chest in a vice. And your heart is pounding but at the same time feels like it’s plummeting. And the world around you is spinning and the ground isn’t there. And sometimes you start sweating or gasping for breath.’ Adam nodded to himself. That felt familiar.
‘Yeah I know how that feels.’
‘Yeah. So you coming tomorrow.’
‘I’ll have to ask if I’m allowed. But I should be able to.’
‘Great. Message me when you know.’ Adam said bye and hung up before throwing himself onto his bed. Sighing he placed his hands over his face and pushed down, as if he could shove the thoughts out of his head. How many people had seen on the news or read about what he’d done? How many had remembered?
‘I didn’t mean to.’ He whispered as he felt tears brush against the palms of his hands. He raised them slightly so he was no longer in the dark. Like most of him they didn’t match, the left one being olive and the right very pale, and the left had a scar along the ring finger. He wondered how that had happened? It had been there since he could remember so it must have been caused by something that happened in someone else’s life. That was the one thing that unnerved him about himself. Every part of him had had another life. Even his brain had once belonged to another boy with a different name. How much was he like that boy and how much were they different? Was there a difference? Or was he that same boy in a new body and no memories of his old life? Had his dad thought about that before creating him or had it not crossed his mind? Or maybe it had crossed his mind but he’d decided he didn’t care. His head spinning Adam closed his eyes and soon he found himself falling asleep.

Jacqueline Fernandez is a Sri Lankan born actress and was the winner of the Miss Universe Sri Lanka winner in the year 2006. Popularly known as the Jacq of hearts in India, Jacqueline started off her journey in the entertainment field with a news anchoring job in Sri Lanka. She later switched to modelling and also went on to represent her country at the Miss Universe in 2006. During a modelling assignment in India, Jacqueline decided to give Bollywood a shot. She auditioned for the lead role in Sujoy Ghosh's fantasy drama Aladin and bagged the part. Later on, Jacqueline found commercial success in 2011 with the sequel of Murder titled Murder 2. After Murder 2, Jacqueline became a familiar face in the industry and went on to star in many glamorous roles like Race 2, Kick, Housefull 2 and 3, A gentleman and Judwaa 2. Apart from acting, Jacqueline is also a pretty popular figure with commercial brands and has actively participated for humanitarian work and animal welfare. So, on the occasion of her birthday we decided list down all of Jacqueline Fernandez’s movies in her Bollywood career so far. 2009 Aladin Aladin was an Indian film based on the popular tale by the same name. Aladin Chaterjee (Ritesh Deshmukh) was always teased by his classmates for his fairytale name. Aladin was studying in Khwaish University and falls head over heels for a new exchange student Jasmine (Jacqueline Fernandez), however he’s too shy to express his feelings to her. One day, he rubs a lamp that was gifted to him on his birthday earlier and to his surprise a genie named Genuis (Amitabh Bachchan) comes out. Now, we’re all aware of the three wish rule of genies but Aladin ends up wasting his first two wishes. For his third wish, he asks genie to help him win Jasmine’s heart but without any sort of magical trick. Everything turns into chaos when a Ringmaster (Sanjay Dutt) comes in to the picture with the hope of getting even more powerful than he is and takes on Genius and Aladin. The film was a no show at the box-office and Jacquline did not get the start to her Bollywood career that she would’ve liked. 2010 Jaane Kahan Se Aayi Hai Jacqueline featured with Riteish again in her next film titled Jaane Kahan Se Aayi Hai. Directed by Milap Zaveri, the film was a science fiction romance. In this movie, Riteish played an assistant to director Farah Khan who never had his luck with the ladies. Farah’s film’s mega star Desh (Rulsaan Mumtaz) is the country’s heartthrob and Rajesh (Riteish Deshmukh) falls in love with his sister Natasha (Sonal Sehgal) but alas, like his many encounters with women in the past, this one too ends in a heartbreak. While watching a movie in a drive-in theater, a gorgeous lady lands in his arms, and passes out. Later on, she tells him that she’s here from Venus and has come to earth in search of true love. So, Rajesh tries to set her up with Desh, thinking they would be the perfect fit. But, in that process, she realises that Rajesh is in fact the person she needs to be with and confesses his love for him. 2011 Murder 2 Murder 2 was a sequel to the to the 2004 film, Murder. Along with Jacquline Fernandez, the film also starred Emraan Hashmi and Prashant Narayanan in lead. Orphaned at a young age, Arjun (Emraan Hashmi) lives alone in Goa and manages to earn his livelihood by working for local gangsters and the mafia. Arjun is in a happy relationship with his girlfriend Priya (Jacqueline Fernandez), a fashion model. After the rise of missing prostitutes in Goa, he is hired by a gangster to find the person behind these abductions. He tries to use a prostitute Reshma as a bait in order to catch the culprit but she too gets abducted and he looses contact with her. Guilt-ridden, he decides to use all possible resources to try and locate her before she herself becomes included in the official 'missing persons' list. His relationship with Priya too gets affected due to his involvement in the case. Despite receiving mixed reviews from critics, Murder 2 crossed the Rs. 100 crore mark and was declared a blockbuster.
2012 Housefull 2 After delivering a box-office success with Murder 2, Jacqueline starred in the multi starrer comedy Housefull 2. Apart from Jacqueline, the film starred Akshay Kumar, John Abraham, Ritesh Deshmukh, Shreyas Talpade, Asin, Zareen Khan, Shazahn Padamsee, Rishi Kapoor, Randhir Kapoor, Boman Irani and Mithun Chakraborty in the lead roles. The film was about two step brothers Chintu (Rishi Kapoor) and Dabboo (Randhir Kapoor), who hate each other to the very core. They are always trying to one up each other and their competitiveness even extends to selecting a better or richer groom for their daughter. In this comedy of errors, we see four men help each other to fool their prospective father-in-laws creating a lot of confusion and mayhem. 2013 Race 2 The 2008 release Race was a typical Abbas - Mustan film in many ways. Filled with plot twists, the film went on to be a massive hit. Race 2 takes on a similar route. Ranvir Singh (Saif Ali Khan) and Armaan Malik (John Abraham) con a businessman named Vikram Thapar (Rajesh Khattar) for the ownership of his casinos and become friends in the process. Ranvir falls for Aleena (Deepika Padukone) who’s shown as Armaan’s half sister. Jacquline Fernandez played Armaan’s girlfriend Omisha in the film. Armaan and Ranvir later turn on each other but, just like the first one, we see Ranvir come out on top. Even though the film received criticism, it managed to collect a total of Rs.162 crore form the box-office.
2014 Kick Many regard the film Kick as the turning point of Jacquline’s career. Jacquline Fernandez played the character of Shaina, a psychiatrist. In Warsaw, she meets up with a police inspector Himanshu (Randeep Hooda) and the two of them open up about their past. She tells him about her relationship with Devi Lal Singh aka Devil (Salman Khan). She talks about his madness and their whirlwind romance, until one day he breaks up with her for a new kick and walks away, never to return. Himanshu on the other hand talks about a criminal he’s been chasing but unable to capture. What they don’t know is the fact that they’re talking about the exact same person. Later on, Devi returns in their lives in a new disguise claiming that he’s lost his memory. But, behind everything there is an underlying purpose that we later find out. Salman Khan completely owned his character as the Devil. His sizzling chemistry with Jacquline in the film was a major reason for the success as well. Songs like Jumme Ki Raat and Hangover went on to be chart toppers. The film earned a total of a whopping Rs. 402 crore worldwide.
2015 Roy Roy was a film in which we saw two parallel storylines. First, we see the story about Kabir (Arjun Rampal), a successful filmmaker who goes to Malaysia for the shoot of his film and meets up with Ayesha (Jacqueline Fernandez). The two eventually fall in love but Ayesha leaves him since he has the reputation of being a casanova. A dejected Kabir is unable to complete his film and goes in to depression. Meanwhile, we also see Roy (Ranbir Kapoor), an international art thief who’s got his eyes set on his next target, a painting. That painting is owned by Tia (Jacqueline Fernandez), who stays by herself in a huge mansion. Roy befriends her and manages to steal the painting. Tia is left heartbroken since she began to fall in love with Roy. While everything seems to be heading for the worse, we see Kabir complete his film and Roy realising his mistake and returning the painting. Roy was a complete no show at the box-office as it only collected a total of Rs. 36 crore.
Brothers The film was a story about two estranged brothers who have a face off in the in the boxing rink. David Fernandez (Akshay Kumar) quits his job as a Physics teacher to become a full-time fighter, the reason behind that being is that he’ll do anything it takes to save his daughter who’s suffering from a terminal disease. His wife Jenny (Jacquleine Fernandez) however is worried that he has to risk his life just so that he can meet his daughter’s medical expenses. Monty Fernandez on the other hand becomes a viral sensation after a video of his fight goes viral online. Finally getting the chance to prove himself to the world, he trains vigorously. In the end, we see the two brothers come up against each other for the ultimate show down.
2016 Housefull 3 Sandy (Akshay Kumar), Bunty (Abhishek Bachchan), and Teddy (Riteish Deshmukh) are in love with Ganga (Jacquleine Fernandez), Saraswati (Nargis Fakhri), and Jamuna (Lisa Haydon), respectively, mostly because they are the rich daughters of Batook (Boman Irani), a Gujarati NRI with a bad sense of humour. They now how to convince their father for the marriage who is extremely against their relationships. Like every Sajid Khan film, the provides you with entertainment but is filled with cliche humour. The film went on to collect Rs. 195 crore at the box-office. Dishoom Dishoom was another masala entertainer that featured Jacquline Fernandez. The film is fast paced and is always on point which helps keeps the viewer engaged. A buddy cop film was a fresh attempt from Bollywood and it was done rather well. In the film, India’s top batsmen Viraj Sharma (Saqib Saleem) goes missing in Middle East (No guessing where the inspiration for that name came from). Two cops Kabir Shergill (John Abraham) and Junaid Ansari (Varun Dhawan) are assigned for a 36-hours man-hunt before the final match between India and Pakistan. Jacqueline Fernandez plays a thief who helps the police officers in the search of Viraj. The film went on to decent business at the box-office with a total of Rs. 120 crore.
A Flying Jatt The superhero genre has always been a hit and miss in India. This was another attempt that failed to live up to expectations. Directed by Remo D’Souza, the film starred Tiger Shroff and Jacqueline Fernandez in lead. In the film, we follow the story of Aman (Tiger Shroff), an average boy whose led to believe in doing good for others by his mother. Malhotra (Kay Kay Menon) wants to destroy the Sikh colony owned by Aman’s mother Bebe (Amrita Singh) and wants to build a factory. Aman is shown to be sitting by a tree praying for the safety of the colony and that very tree gives him superhero powers. With the help of these superpowers he protects his people and fights against crime in the city. Jacqueline Fernandez plays the character of Kirti, Aman’s love interest in the film. She is his constant source of motivation pushing him to make good use of his powers. A Flying Jatt was poorly received by critics and the audience.
2017 A Gentleman Gaurav (Sidharth Malhotra) is on a mission… a mission to settle down and start a family of his own while living a happy life. He sees his life partner in his colleague Kavya (Jacqueline Fernandez). But Kavya on the other hand is interested in someone who’s more adventurous and risk-loving. Gaurav visits Mumbai for a meeting and his doppelgänger Rishi, a spy on the run is about to bring a whole new twist in his life. The film gives you just enough to keep you interested in the story. A gentleman received mixed reviews and failed to pull in the crowd at the box-office. Judwaa 2 Judwaa 2, the reboot of 1997 release Judwaa. In the remake, which was also healed by David Dhawan who directed the original, Varun Dhawan stepped in the shoes of Salman Khan while Taapsee and Jacqueline Fernandez played the characters originally portrayed by Rambha and Karisma Kapoor respectively. Now since this was a remake the storyline for the film was just like the original. Jacquline featured in the remixed version of the song Chalti Hai Kya 9 Se 12 in the film which went on to become a massive hit. The original received a lot of love from the audience so it was expected that the remake would perform well given David Dhawan’s expertise in comedy and the popularity of the cast and it didn’t disappoint.
2018 Race 3 Race 3 followed a similar trajectory like the previous two instalments but underwent a major shift in casting as it introduced many new characters. Salman Khan stepped into the shoes of Saif Ali Khan as the main man and naturally is portrayed as a one man army in the film. Jacqueline Fernandez looked her gorgeous self and is a part of some stunning action sequences in the film. We already witness her sizzling chemistry with Salman in Kick and the two looked all things hot on screen in this film as well. While the film went a little overboard with the plot twists this time around, it seems like the audience didn’t mind it too much as the film had a decent run collecting just over Rs. 200 crore. from filmfares https://ift.tt/31vzQcE

#632 A tribute to a very special person who is turning 75 today  ...Our very own Man of Steel..Titanium Star Radhakrishna Rao...:-)
Tumblr media
Till 1992, we always thought that Radhakrishna Rao ( my dad) was born on 25-Dec-1943. Even dad had the feeling that this was his birth date as it was in all his records. My grandfather had a family book where DOB of all Boloorians were kept as record. We all of a sudden realized in 1992 that he was born on 29-Oct-1943. He was a Scorpion like mom. Mom was born on 31-Oct-1950. We saw it as 2 days difference between their birthdays. Dad had another jovial angle to describe it. He used to say mom was born 2 years after independence. He had a wicked sense of humor sometimes!!
Today that great man is turning 75 !! Time has flown too fast for this Bsc Maths rank holder, engineering student in prestigious IIsc , retired AGM of VISL (a subsidiary of SAIL) , stocks champion, “Can talk on any topic !!“  master, a thorough gentlemen , a self-proclaimed YOGA guru and sweet-loving guy. By sweet loving, I really meant sweets. He can’t live a day without eating a sweet which he totally adores !!. He might still manage to live without sweets but don’t think he can without yoga and stocks study. He has been investing in stocks since 1981 (if I am not wrong !! ) . He never shows his excitement or anger when stocks jump or dips !!. Probably his body language gives an indication. Just for the love of stocks, he learnt to use Microsoft XLS at the age of 60, tablet at the age of 72 , laptop at the age of 74 and even boasts a google finance account which he monitors through his mobile (bought a smart phone just for this !!).  His past time always goes in calculating capital gains and analyzing what stocks or MF to buy !! . I am completely opposite to him. I do like finance but not to the extent this freak does !! (I do call him freak sometimes). Once newspaper comes in the morning,  he detaches the sports edition and hands over to me.  He calls me an Urdu sports freak sometimes!!!  In all newspaper, sports edition is there in last few pages.  I always read the newspaper from last page to first. So the name Urdu Sports freak !!
It’s impossible to list down moments with dad which I cherished as there are so many.  One of the most memorable one was the day Seema won 2nd prize in Hindi debate (2nd in entire Karnataka) . He was so happy that day that his eyes was glowing.  He was immensely proud. Each time Seema would win a competition ( I felt she was born talented. She would win most competitions, was a charm in plays and was always topper in studies. It was a deadly combo and I always felt she was a magician), dad looked very happy proud.  Her multi talent is evident in her career too. She was a BSC Zoology student, worked in IMRB for IA Flying returns and now running a host of sessions on story telling very successfully. That’s as varied set of talent a human can get.  Seema was always dad’s pet due to this rare talent. He would proudly tell about her deeds to his friends. I was a kid who was born other side of planet probably. I hardly won any events, was an above average student (thanks to mom for that!! ) and was a sports fanatic. I owe my passion for sports partly to dad’s interests as well. 2 instances was the real trigger for that.
1982 Asian games and 1983 world cup were 2 key calendar years for India. Dad had literally got TV imported from north India just to watch these events (at least I always felt that he bought TV for these events !! ). It looked like a magic box for me. None of our neighbors had TV . Even our rich landlord was watching our TV. How cool was that !!  1982 Asian games was held in India for the first time. It was a grand spectacle. Best was 1983 world cup which India won as underdogs. Host of dad’s cousins had come from native to watch the finals. Our house was small . TV was kept in hall. There was a huge window which was opened to allow neighbors to watch TV. Atleast 30-40 people watched the finals. Snacks would come from all the houses. I just can’t imagine watching a match like that in current generation.  Crackers was burst across Bangalore when India won the finals. I was all but 6 by then. That day was the first instance which triggered the sports madness in me. Post that I got bat and ball from dad.
2nd instance which triggered another nerve of sports madness in me was when I first watched tennis.  It was era of Martina and Mconroe. I hardly knew a thing about tennis. It was dad who taught me on how points worked in tennis. In mid 80s, only Wimbledon was telecasted in DD post SF matches. We used to wait for that weekend with eagerness. The first finals which I saw was Martina vs Evert. Martina won the match after losing her first set. It was her 6th Wimbledon title and 12th slam overall. In men’s tennis, a new 17 year old kid had made great stride to reach finals where he faced Kevin Curren. It was a tight 4 setter but Becker won in 4 sets. It was amazing to see him serve with so much power, dive around the net with ease and play with such soft and silk touch around the nets. He was named BOOM BOOM Becker after this win !! He was in all sports headlines that week.
If people blame me for being crazy for sports, dad had a great hand in that!! In mid 90s, when I started watching golf, he started staring me with a look “ Its game for retired people!!..Why are you watching it?? “ . Moving on, other than sports he has inspired me in a lot of other things. Money management, time management and health focus being key of them. I can’t recall a phase in his career when he had a tummy which is crazy. Half my life, I have stared at my tummy when I bend my head down !!! He never visited a gym but ensured he walks, jogs or does yoga throughout his life. He had slip disc when he was in mid-40s but that didn’t stop him from exercising. He couldn’t jog anymore. So he did loads of walking and yoga. He was so addicted to walking that he once walked at 330 AM in the morning thinking it is 530 AM. His alarm had rung 2 hours early. He reached home asking why sun was not rising !!. Mom gave him a stare and told that it was not even 430 AM !!
In Pre TV era, all he made us do was walking which we sorely miss in today’s life. After dinner, we would walk for 30 min , chat all along and then come back home and sleep.  Gone are those days !! My son Shreyas can’t believe we lived such a life !! Another thing which I owe to dad is love for food. Irrespective of how the situation of his purse was, he ensured that he took us out for dinner in regular intervals. In mid 80s, when we were in Bhadravathi, a new restaurant had started which served North Indian food. It was first of its kind in the small town of Bhadravathi. We made regular visit there. Eating Manchurians, naan and various sabji was just a treat to my tummy. I have always been a fast eater. It helped me immensely when I visited hotel with my parents.  Once I finished my share of food, dad and mom would some share of theirs too to my plate !!. The era of fast-eating-by-Mr-Sandeep has not stopped since then. I enjoy eating fast now and just can’t eat or drink anything slowly !! The secret behind that is revealed now !!.
Dad’s work ethics is 2nd to none. Since he has got retired, he virtually plans what work he needs to do each day. His usual work starts with a watch of NASDAQ stock numbers before 8 AM. That gives an idea of how Indian markets would fare. He would then walk along to Geojit office to get some analysis of some stocks. He does further study of that stocks fare over a period of time. Based on the analysis, he does day trading of few stocks here and there. It is not the amount of stocks sold or bought that counts but the process. One can do for 1 day or at the max for 50 days. But has done this for 90% of the days since 2001 (when he moved to Bangalore post retirement). That’s some discipline.  If I am able to achieve even 50% of the discipline which he has, I would pat my back.
Even 7.5 years is not enough to write about “Man of Steel “ Dad. For now, I need to logically end this blog which is a tribute for his 75th birthday. Titan like Mr Radhakrishna Rao deserves a great Titanium anniversary. Hope this blog bring him an inch of happiness which would make my day. Having said that, mom is turning 69 two days later as well. A year later, another blog would be presented. For now, Happy Diwali and keep reading #BOLOORSPORTSMANIA like you have till now!! Cheers !!
