To Be Chul Soon

Tony fell onto his bed as he groaned. Another bad day at work... Tony was at his limit and was at a loss.

“Really shouldn’t have chosen retail...” Another groan left his mouth. He needed to do something to get his act together.

So Tony went to the store to find something to eat, passing by the book aisle. At first Tony just passed it, but then he heard something fall onto the ground with a loud thud. That immediately caught Tony’s attention as he stared at what fell. A book.

“Enchantments: Be What You Want to Be!” Tony was quite perplexed. It was a thick book too.

“I’m not one for superstition... but it’s not like I got nothing to lose...” So Tony picked up the book and plopped it into his cart.

The cashier didn’t even seem to acknowledge the book as they scanned everything else and Tony went on with their day back to his home.

Tony didn’t waste much time flipping through the book to see what it could possibly contain and well... it was a lot of things that Tony couldn’t understand but he landed on a certain page.

“Dream Body: Mutter the name of someone you want to be while looking at this page and your dreams will come true.” 

“How cryptic...” Tony muttered.

So all Tony had to do was mutter a name? Tony was at a loss. What name should he say? That’s when Tony thought back to what he was doing last night.

Tony was always interested in bodybuilding and maybe a had a crush on a few of them. And that’s when he remembered a certain one...

Hwang Chul Soon. South Korean bodybuilder, loving husband, successful youtuber, and more. He was the man to be. A dream if Tony could BE him. So with a deep breath, Tony looked at the page and spoke...

“Hwang Chul Soon.” As soon as the words left his mouth the book pages began to glow and Tony dropped the book as it made a loud thud onto the ground.

The glow became more intense as the light began to consume the entire room until Tony was unable to see anything and began to lose consciousness.

The next thing Tony could remember was feeling some sort of blanket on his backside and some pillow on his head. Did he pass out? He thought to himself.

“이리와 철, 일어나!” (Come on Chul, wake up!) Was that.. korean he heard?

“5분만 더...“ ( Five more minutes...) Another voice groaned. Who’s voice was that? Certainly not his...

“그러지 마! 당신의 아내와 아이가 뭔가를 하고 있어서 마침내 우리 둘만 있을 수 있습니다!” (Don't be like that! Your wife and kid are off doing something so it can be finally just us for once!) Wife and kid? When did Tony have a WIFE let alone a kid? And wait did he just understand korean?

Tony had to open his eyes now and to his absolute shock not only did he see himself in a completely different room but to see a buff korean man staring right at him.

From Tony’s many browsings and “research” he recognized the man as Lee Seung Chul, but what was he doing here? and what was Tony doing here?

“그래서 드디어 눈을 떴다! 운동기구 끼고 가자 철!” (So you finally open your eyes! Put on some workout gear and let's go Chul!) Tony wasn’t wearing a shirt? But why would he do that? Plus Lee just called him Chul! His upper area did feel a bit drafty but...

Tony noticed the phone in his hand and put the dark reflective surface to his face. To his surprise instead of a typical american face, the face of korean bodybuilder Hwang Chul Soon was in the reflection! Tony had his mouth agape.

“이건 진짜일 리 없어!“ (This can't be real!) Tony watched as the perfect korean went out of his mouth. The voice earlier was him?!

“걱정마세요 채플님! 당신의 아내는 괜찮을 것입니다!“ (Don't worry Chul! Your wife will be fine!) Tony just ignored Lee and ran out of the room to find the nearest bathroom.

After finding the bathroom, Tony closed the door and quickly stripped in a panic as his large member dangled out. The urge to touch all this muscle was getting to him. Tony finally got himself a good look in the mirror and the man he was, Hwang Chul Soon in the reflection even replicating his movements.

“내가 철순이 된거야?!“ (Did I become Chul Soon?!) Tony couldn’t believe it so he had one idea to check.

Tony began to feel his body all over and every single muscle felt real it was surreal to Tony. The fact he was naked was not helping. Tony felt the urge to snap a pic with the phone he brought with him. Unlocking his phone with face id Tony opened the photo app and took a picture of himself, but before he covered his member with a small towel. Had to be a little decent in the new body you know?

Before Tony could do anything further a knock on the door interrupted his photo shoot.

“철이 거기서 뭐해? 나중에 직접 확인하실 수 있습니다!“ (What are you doing in there Chul? You can check yourself out later!) It was Lee.

Tony almost forgot there was someone else in the house and not to mention he just left them. Tony without a second thought walked out of the bathroom completely forgetting he was nude.

“미안해 내가.. 왜 그렇게 쳐다봐.. 오!“ (Sorry about that I... why are you looking at me like.. OH!) Lee didn’t say anything back as he just looked at the naked Tony.

Tony immediately muttered some typical (korean) apologies and went around the unfamiliar house to find some of closet. He eventually did and found some suitable clothes. A cap, a tank top with the words Kush, and some simple white workout pants. Tony also picked up a conveniently placed workout bag. Tony couldn’t lie he looked good, but he couldn’t keep Lee waiting so he returned to where Lee was previously in a state of shock.

“좋아, 준비됐어“ (Alright, I’m ready) Lee sighed and the two headed out.

As Tony and Lee exited the building Tony was amazed by the architecture of the surrounding outside. If he did become Chul Soon he must’ve been sent to South Korea a place he’s never been. Tony’s only ever seen glimpses in videos he saw watching Chul Soon’s YouTube channel. Would he have to maintain that now? Tony would have to think about that later. Lee led the way since Tony knew nothing about the area (for now). Tony was even stopped multiple times by fans of Chul Soon and well Tony had to provide right? But the pair finally arrived at the gym after some time and Tony had never seen a gym this big in his life or well a gym at all. He would’ve stood out if not being a hulking mass himself at the moment. Lee and Tony went to the lockers to drop off their workout bags. Tony passed by many large korean men as he made his way to “his” locker and couldn’t help but be enamored by their musculature. Even if he had muscles now he couldn’t help but appreciate another man’s body. But it was finally time to actually workout! Tony was a bit worried with someone with no experience, but luckily Lee was going to start this time. Lee put some headphones in and got to work.

To say Tony was mesmerized would be an understatement. This is the first time he ever got to see a bodybuilder in his element up-close before. Tony had to sit down and observe the spectacle before him in intense admiration... and envy.

Lee put his weight down and looked to Tony as to silently say “네 차례 야!” (You’re up!). Tony nervously got up and slowly made his way to a machine. He picked up the weights on the rack with relative ease... now what? Tony panicked, but suddenly Tony was hit with a rush of a memory that definitely wasn’t his. It seemed to be from a few years ago as a shirtless Chul with weights in their hands walked to a bench about to do a bench-press. The Chul laid down and began to lift.

The vivid memory continued to entrance Tony as it really felt like he was the one doing all that work. Another key moment was when Chul did a stretch for his large pectorals.

The memory soon ended with Tony now a lot more knowledgeable on what to do. It felt like something came over Tony as in a spur of the moment decision he put the weights down and began to remove his tank top, even doing a little flex as he took it off.

Tony was quick to pick up the weights once and begin lifting. The motions felt natural to him as he kept going for a good while.

Tony finished what he could and got up. The feeling he got from that pump was something he never felt before. It was... amazing!  Tony had to sit down to feel the gravity of what he just did and man was it hot. That’s when Tony noticed a protein bottle on the floor. Tony thought of something reallll funny. Tony scooped up the bottle and put it right on the hinge of his meaty pecs. 

To his amusement it didn’t fall over and Tony felt like this isn’t the first time he did this. Lee chuckled watching his friend do the silly stunt as he directed Tony to the next machine. The rest of the workout went without a hitch. More and more memories began to flood into Tony as he became more of a natural in using the workout machines. Very clear memories that were definitely Chul Soon’s and yet it felt like it was the one to live through them.

Memories of lifting a large dumbbell...

Memories of pulling a strong cable...

Memories of flexing...

They all felt real and by the end of the whole experience Tony felt more... in-tune with this body. It felt like Tony had this body for 39 years. Tony was decorated with sweat as he had the workout of his life with the liquid making his muscles glisten.

Tony felt a bit damp so he grabbed his discarded tank top and started using it to clean the sweat under his pecs.

“나중에 씻을게“ (I’ll wash it later.) Tony remarked to Lee.

Speaking of Lee, he was sweating up a storm too. Ready to head back to the lockers he started grabbing his belongings and that let Tony get a good look at his well defined musculature. 

Tony was absolutely delighted to be able to see it up close. After all he LOVED bodybuilders and always wanted to date one! But... after getting a good look instead of swooning he felt... admiration? The old Tony would’ve been quick to visibly drool over Lee’s big pecs and yet all Tony could see right now was a friend he respected and one who knew how to workout. Tony furthering this notion with Tony reaching his hand out for a handshake. Lee noticed and quickly accepted the gesture.

“오늘 잘했어!“ (You did great today!) Tony told Lee.

“너도 철!“ (You too Chul!) Lee responded back as the handshake ended.

Tony being called Chul reminded him of the current situation at hand. Just yesterday he was groaning at a cashier but now he has a bodybuilding friend? Very cool. Either way Tony couldn’t quite pinpoint the feeling he felt when he saw Lee. What was going on with him? Surely he should’ve...

But before Tony could finish that thought Lee motioned to Chul it was time to go to lockers and so they did. Both of them took nice long showers before changing into their backup clothes and heading to the entrance. It seems the two worked out for quite a long time as it was now nighttime. Lee and Tony said their goodbyes as Tony had to try and remember how to get back home. Though surprisingly to Tony he was able to remember how to get home pretty easily.

Tony opened the door to his house and noticed that “his” wife and kid still weren’t home yet. Still felt a bit weird that Tony had to think about the fact if it stayed like this he’d be married to a woman and Tony was never really interested in women as far as he could remember. Not to mention having to take care of a kid too! With all that in mind Tony was quick to find the nearest couch in the living room and crash right onto it for a sleep. Tony thought he’ll surely wake up before the wife and kid get home so might as well take a snooze after a grueling workout! Tony closed his eyes and slept.

Tony heard something clang and was immediately awoken, but to his surprise he wasn’t in the house he snoozed in rather it was a large venue. Hundreds of tables and chairs with people he felt like he knew in the seats. Then a huge runway was in the middle. Tony looked down to see he was still Chul Soon and in a fancy suit. What’s going on? He thought. The confusion continued as Tony started to strip out of the suit leaving him with just his pants and some shades he didn’t realize he had and out of nowhere started bouncing his pecs to the music he now was able to hear.

Tony then began to flex to everyone as one would do in a bodybuilder competition before stopping as someone arrived. In the distance Tony could see... a women in a beautiful dress.

As the women continued to walk forward, Tony had come to realization. This must be the “wife” Lee was talking about when he first woke up in Chul’s body. Tony couldn’t believe his eyes... the women was... gorgeous! Tony never felt this feeling of love even when stared at pictures of bodybuilders for all those years. What was happening to him? 

Before long, the women approached Tony and she was even prettier up close. Tony had put the pieces together and realized  that this was a wedding. A pretty grand one at that. But why was he...

It didn’t take long for the priest to enter and do the typical wedding spiel as Tony and Yeona who Tony remembered the name of in an instant looked at each other with gleaming eyes. When The priest asked the big question, Tony sat on one knee and held Yeona’s hand right as they both said their vows. The audience cheered. Unfortunately before anything could progress further a loud ringing noise interrupted the wedding. Tony was confused until he opened his eyes once again to hear the rumbling noise in his pants pocket. It was a text from Lee.

“오늘 이후로 내 엉덩이가 멋져 보이지 않니?“ (Doesn't my ass look great after today?) With an attached photo.

The old Tony would’ve been quick to ask Lee to marry him, but Tony just saw this as a funny joke between good friends.

“그래, 하지만 내 것이 더 클 거라고 장담해!“ (Yeah, but I bet mine is bigger!) Tony texted back in a stroke of confidence. 

The conversation continued for a little while longer until both men realized it was late and said their goodbyes. Tony turned off his phone and put his hands behind his head as he stared at the ceiling. Not feeling like taking another nap Tony was left with his thoughts about the events that have transpired to him in just the past day alone. Usually Tony would think about large and beefy bodybuilders flexing and working out to relieve stress, but instead all he could think about was the sunning image of the woman he saw in that dream, Yeona... Now Tony knew that Chul Soon had married to a woman with how much content he’s consumed of the man just not how gorgeous she truly. Is it perhaps the influence of this body that’s making him feel this way? Tony couldn’t be sure, but all his thoughts focused on her. Just her. Tony wanted to see her no matter what.

Oh right! Tony deduced she should be home soon and why not make a good impression you know? With a sudden burst of energy Tony got up and scrounged around the house for some items including certain items and had the brilliant idea to lay them on his meaty pecs. Tony promptly threw his tank top aside and rested his pecs on the counter near the entrance to the abode. Tony placed each item he found carefully all over his body and waited. Not too long after a jostling of the door handle could be heard and then a door creaking open.

“안녕 자기~” (Hello, Baby~) Tony said in the most seductive way possible to the woman who entered the house.

“오철! 정말 멋진 놀라움입니다! 당신은 항상 누군가 특히 저를 환영하는 방법을 알고 있습니다.“ (Oh Chul! What a lovely surprise! You always know how to welcome someone especially me...) It was Yeona and she was just as lovely as Tony saw her in his dream.

"당연 하죠 내 사랑! 당신은 멋져 보인다!" (Of course my love! You look stunning!) Tony could feel a hard-on in his shorts.

"당신도 철! 예를 들어… 오늘 밤 우리의 작은 햇살을 위해 베이비시터를 구할 수 있었으니 당신과 나뿐입니다. 하자… 알다시피…" (So do you Chul! Say… I was able to get a babysitter for our little sunshine tonight so it's just you and me. Let's… you know…) Yeona gave a bit of a mischievous look.

Despite only being in this body for a day, Tony knew EXACTLY what Yeona was talking about... Their Wine room! Tony put all of the contents that was previously laid over his pectorals and shoulder onto the counter as he reached for Yeona's hand. Yeona graciously accepted as the two made their way to the fabled wine room.

As they entered, Tony was amazed by the size and scope of the room before noticing a couple chain necklaces sitting on a table. Tony's libido took over as he put them on without a second thought. Yeona chuckled as they sat down on very expensive looking seats to look for a good looking wine or two. Before they could pick their drinks Yeona brought up Tony's earlier hard-on that was pretty obvious.

"누군가 나를 보고 흥분했다는 걸 알아요~" (I know someone was excited to see me~) Yeona chuckled.

The old Tony would've been so embarassed at that comment but current Tony reveled in it.

"오, 내가 당신처럼 아름다운 사람과 결혼했을 때의 기분을 알잖아요!" (Oh you know how it is when I'm married to someone as beautiful as you!) Tony started to smile as he began to bounce his mighty pecs as the two continued to conversate on what wine to choose.

Eventually Tony picked a red wine that he somehow found attached to with Yeona going for a more basic wine. Each taking a couple shots before calling it enough. Yeona suggested they both go to bed and Tony happily obliged. Tony and Yeona both went off to do their pre-bed routines with Tony remembering his without much of a hassle he was a bodybuilder after all! Tony finished before Yeona though so he arrived to their joint bed, took off his chain necklaces putting them on the nearest nightstand and laid down on what he presumed to be his spot on the bed. Yeona opened the door to a smirking Chul looking at her wife.

Yeona was flattered as she turned off the lights and laid down on the bed with Tony, giving Tony a kiss on the cheek before closing her eyes to sleep. Tony was shocked at the gesture yet loved it.

Tony thought about how he liked that kiss immensely and how someone that only ever thought of dating men could like that kind of thing. Tony pondered how he would feel dating a man in his current state. He immediately thought of Lee and the camaraderie they had, but the thoughts of doing anything romantic made him feel icky

"내가 ... 똑바로 되었습니까?" (Did I become... straight?) Tony muttered quietly as to not wake Yeona.

Tony thought about the burly men he used to fantasize over, but instead all he saw was Yeona and how beautiful she was. Tony wanted to hate this feeling and yet he couldn't. He was perfectly content with this. After all he has this big body to show off might as show it to the ladies than the men trying to steal his girl which for some reason he cared about now.

With that behind him, Tony closed his eyes and drifted off into sleep for his new life would continue.

A few weeks passed and Tony slowly became one with Chul Soon's life. Tony would workout, go on dates with his wife, care for his cute child, make videos on youtube, and attend various events. Tony at first was a bit self-conscious calling himself Chul Soon, but before long he vastly preferred the name over his old one. Tony just doesn't fit the massive mass monster he now and always was. Tony or rather... Chul would rather flex than think about whatever he did in this so-called previous life he had.

It wasn't too long before Chul had been invited to a movie premiere and spared no expense in his appearance. Chul dressed to impress even if his wife couldn't come and to say he looked dashing would be an understatement.

After the premiere Chul was quick to take off his tight suit and go to the gym to workout with Lee. The two had the most amazing workout they've had in a long time with Chul flexing in his bright yellow shorts and workout belt almost immediately after it ended. The pump was liberating.

That pump was the last straw on Tony ever coming back as Hwang Chul Soon was here to stay for a long... long... time..

You finished with your vocal practice. Tired and with a sore throat you came out of the studio leaving seungmin behind. You were starving and ordered some pizza as it was the first thing that popped up in your mind. As the pizza arrived you went to Chan's room to offer him some. You knew he hadn't eaten anything as he was preoccupied with his work. Well, it was totally understandable as the comeback was next week, but he still needs to take care of his health. With a soft smile on your face, you walked towards his work room. You gently twisted the door knob as quitely as you could and as you thought, he was sitting there with his headset and composing something. You made your way towards him and patted on his back.

"Chris?" you called out his name in a soft, tired voice. He mumbled giving you a sign to continue speaking. "Do you need anything? i can help you if you need anyth-" he cut you off and replied, "no, i'm fine" he said without sparing a glance at you. "oh, um. are you perhaps hungry? i got pizza" you said trying your best to keep a smile on your face. You were really tired. "I do not need anything, let me be" he said in a more stern and harsh tone. He's never like this. I understand he's stressed and needs his space but he can't just not eat. "take a break, here, i got your favourite topping too." You said in a calm way, i mean you tried to. As you were unapacking the box, you heard him huff, "Why can't you fucking let me be (y/n)? For fuck's sake. I told you i don't want to eat anything. Why can't you ever listen to me? Why are you literally so clingy and annoying all the time? Can you not give me a little space? All i need right now is space. The last thing i want to hear is your annoying little voice. I don't want food (y/n), all i need is to you to leave." He snapped at you. You were too tired to argue, you were just so exhausted. "fine, alright. Here's the pizza. Eat it whenever the fuck you feel like. You didn't have to be so difficult." your smile dropped. You left the pizzas there, you just lost your appetite. You were too exhausted to even cry at this point. You silently got up and left. After-all he didn't mean all that, right?

"Seungmin? i'm heading back to the dorms, wanna join?"

"Yeah, cool"

I just continued to work on the song i was composing after she left. I didn't really give much thought to what i said, i was too tired to. All i know is, i was at the wrong, ah fuck. After finishing with my work, my eyes fell upon the pizza boxes, and the guilt hit in. Did she want to eat with me? Has she eaten? Fuck, i really messed up. I sighed while rubbing my forehead and shutting my eyes. Why did i snap at her? She was really calm throughout. It's not only me who's stressed. The comeback is stressing all of us, i can’t be selfish. I got up and cleaned up my desk, ready to head to the dorms. I picked up the pizzas and took them with me. (Y/n) usually stays at my room, i'm not sure if i'll find her there, so i went to her room, she wasn't there either. I sighed and went to the common kitchen to keep the pizza boxes in the frige. "hey, chan" Han was sitting on the dining table busy on his phone. "hi." i replied in a tired tone. "ay, i'm starving. Can i please have those?" he said looking at the boxes in my hand. "Sure, warm them up" i replied as i handed them over to him. "by any chance, do you know where's (y/n)?" i asked him desperately. "Oh, yeah. She's with Seung and Hyun in Seungmin's room." he replied munching on his pizza, she really did get my favourite topping. "oh. okay, thankyou." Instead of heading back to my room, i decided to go visit Seungmin's room. As i getting closer to his room, i could hear them laughing. I smiled a bit and sighed. I knocked on the door. After a bit hyunjin opened the door. "Hey channn" He said with a huge smile. "hi." i got in smiling back at him. I diverted my eyes towards (y/n). She was giggling with seungmin. "hello, old man" Seungmin teased me. I groaned. As (y/n) saw me her smile dropped and looked away. She was hurt. After a while, (y/n) got up "I'm gonna go sleep, really tired. Goodnight" she flashed a soft smile at them but not me. "Can i come with you?" i said while getting up with her. She didn't say anthing. Oh fuck, i shouldnt have asked that. "Nevermind, i'm sorry it's fin-" i said nervously only to get cut off by her "sure, yeah, whatever." she said and looked away. As she walked outside of the room, i followed. The whole walk to her room was just silent. I was nervous and bottled up with guilt. She sighed as we reached her room's door. She opened the door as i spoke, "babe?" silence. "i'm really sorry for what i said. i swear i didn-" she cut me off with a tight hug, i hugged her back immediately, that caught me off guard. "it's alright, i understand." she said in a soothing voice. Lord, i truly love her. "i didn't mean it. what i said, i swear i didnt mean everything i said. i didn't mean to snap, it was unintentional, i-" i snuggled my face in her neck, "chris, it's okay, we both are exhausted, we both didn't mean to snap." "i love you, let's snuggle, yeah?"

This Week In BL - Strongberry Kisses!

Being a highly subjective assessment of one tiny corner of the interwebs. Organized by which ones (in each category) I’m enjoying the most.

Ongoing Series - Thai

My School President (Fri YT) 4 of 10 - Gun gets flustered and then Gun gets flirty and comes over all spoiled prince, and poor Tinn loves it suffers. Thiw is the greatest wingman and it was the cutest date inspection: Tinn (confusedly carrying 2 ice creams ) just trailing behind a sunny excitable Gun. Yes, Gun is very extra. Yes, I skipped the singing. But oh my goodness do I love how much this is a traditional Thai high school BL. Thank you so much GMMTV. I missed this style of BL. 

Never Let Me Go (Tues YT) 2 of 12 - I have to say that I’m not entirely sure about Chimon’s casting in this role (he is one of my all time favorite GMMTV actors), but I love Perth. Perth has the hardest role, and he’s such a great nuanced actor with such an expressive face, only he could really pull it off and still feel sympathetic. Meanwhile ironically named Pond = yet another Thai actor made to swim who can’t. That said, PondPhuwin and the attack of the subtle flirtation = wonderful. Honestly? This is a much better role for Pond than FUTS. 

Between Us (Sun iQIYI) 7 of 12 - It’s still good, the leads are great, everything else is meh but at least I’m not bored? WATCH ALONG HERE.

609 Bedtime Story (Fri WeTV) 5 of 11 - So P’Mum is starting to figure out the science (do we call it science?) whatever. In other news, 3 years later, OhmFluke still give the softest sweetest most romantic kisses evah. P’Vee and Game are breaking my heart, honor the sides indeed. 

I Will Knock You (Fri Gaga) 6 of 12 - Noey has a very baby Dom thing to his bully behavior which is oddly cute. Or is that just me being warped? 

Remember Me (Sun Gaga) 11 of 14 - (it’s been extended 2 more episodes and into 2023, what joy is ours) We have switched to mostly focusing on Name and Em. I actually like the 2 actors, it’s just they keep getting stories I don’t enjoy. The JaFirst characters break up is not unexpected, presumably, they had to do some thing to honor the episode 11. After my bd reaction to The Yearbook I’m beginning to lose all faith in this production team.

Choco Milk Shake (Korea Strongberry Tues YT) 11fin - I have to say it felt a little manipulating and there was a lot of dwelling in sad and then a time jump, and then resolution, which is very classic for a Korean drama, but Strongberry usually bucks trends. Still, all the kisses are really good and I do love how the animals w kept their personalities. I’m going with 8/10 RECOMMENDED more below 

My Tooth Your Love (Taiwan Fri Viki) 12fin - The parental abuse, and horseback riding thing was weird. ending with a marriage equality muscle flex and some domesticity was classic Taiwanese BL. I do love that and they were so cute! But ultimately this was oddly disappointing at the end, I think partly because as good as the leads were the crumbs were both excellent too and I wish they had more screen time. 8.5/10

The New Employee (Korea Weds Viki) AKA The New Recruit AKA Shinib Sawo - From WATCHA (Semantic Error) virginal Seung Hyun scores the office internship of his dreams but on his first day at work he gets into it with his cool reserved boss. As you do. Stars Moon Ji Yong (Once Again). Based on Moscareto's web novel of the same name, directed by openly gay & queer activist Kim Jho Gwang Soo (Just Friends?). Grumpy/sunshine, boss/emp, age gap. WAIT, he lives in the same neighborhood as the To My Star boys! And this show reminds me a little bit of that one, same kind of energy. Frankly this is what I wanted from this new crop of office set KBLs ALL ALONG. Fantastic. At last! 

Candy Color Paradox AKA Ameiro Paradox (Japan Fri Gaga) 2 of 8 - I’m not sure about this one, I am liking it OK but it is oddly mature while also being kookie, and also immature. Maybe it’s just Japan being its usual complex self. 

The Director Who Buys Me Dinner (Korea Thurs iQIYI) 3-4 of 10 - The premise of the show is so weird. But once the pink smoke appeared, and I decided we’re actually in a paranormal drama and not an office romance, I’m better about it. Also it’s really nice to see the lead pair start to actually like each other. 

Oh! My Assistant (Korea Thurs Viki) 7-8fin - There was a lot of me going awwww in ep 7. But in the finale, the triangle and jealousy seemed shoehorned in so that in the end, I was kind of torn. 7/10 More below.

Till the World Ends (Thai YT) 10 eps - it seems to be good but I don’t know about the ending, so I’m waiting. 

Ended This Week

Choco Milk Shake (Korea YouTube) Stongberry gave us a full length BL on YouTube! It’s a BL miracle and an endless delight. It was wonderfully cute, unexpectedly hilarious but expectedly silly, a little too poignant, occasionally gut wrenching and with a somewhat expected weird (but happy-ish) ending. The actors playing the two pets must have had the best time. As, indeed, did I watching it. Jealous Milk made me cackle so hard it scared the actual cat on my lap, Choco was perfectly cast, and the chemistry was ultimately decent. In Strongberry I still trust. Thank you thank you, may we have another, sirs? 8/10 RECOMMENDED

My Tooth Your Love (Taiwan Viki) While, I really loved this show, it had a fun premise, and a solid lead pair with charming chemistry and delightful, domesticity, not to mention great communication, I wasn’t wild about some of the darker themes it explored, even though it did a good job with them. But while the crumbs and sides were v adorable they were chronically underused. If I gave half points this is a solid 8.5 but since I don't it’s gonna be an 8/10 MUCHLY RECOMMENDED 

Oh! My Assistant (Korea Viki) This is a very silly show that acts like it comes from a very silly yaoi. Reserved out gay younger assistant (we stan) pretending to be tsundere but is actually just v shy and smitten by his cheerful (seemingly straight) chaos bi himbo artist boss. I think the cross cutting in of old footage with the replacement actor after the re-cast did affect the chemistry with this pair. There was no way around it. Even KBL isn't usually this awkward and repressed. Although this show had the best bisexual awakening sequence ever put in a BL, and I really wanted to love it, I just didn't. 7/10 RECOMMENDED WITH RESERVATIONS

2 Moons 3 (Thai) finished it’s run this week. Rumor is it’s banal. I’m waiting to collect all the eps and then I will try to binge before I finish my 2022 wrap ups.

Why You... Y Me? (Thai YT) It's not primarily a BL, but another meta show about BL shipping, with side BLs. I await @heretherebedork ‘s report on whether to watch or not.

PitchBank from Golden Blood (AKA Segus & Tenon) will be the side couple in new medical Thai BL Mystique in the Mirror. 

TutorYim (Cutie Pie) have a busy 2023, they’re starring in upcoming micro project Our Winter, possibly for Tik Tok distribution. They also took on JimmyTommy’s lead for Middleman’s Love and will have a cameo in KBL Jun & Jun (filming now). TutorYim will ALSO star in 2023 KBL (yes Korean) First Love's User Manual under A-Plan International’s Silkwood (Peach Of Time).

Singapore dropped short Summerdaze Christmas Together on YouTube. It’s ADORABLE and prompted me to talk about BL in Singapore and more. Def gave me Ingredients vibes. I really hope their series happens. 

Coffee Melody also gave us the Christmas special no one asked for. It’s basically a reunion romance, but mostly just domesticity. It cute, but dull. 

My Beautiful Man stars Yusei Yagi and Riku Hagiwara won several awards as a pair and individually at WEIBO Festival 2022.

Short Story Project's Coffee Shop (microfilm Youtube series in the same cafe setting with the same main character) ep 3 installment "ESPRESSO" is a BL. It stars BoyTod from Ghost Host, Ghost House and is a reunion romance. It’s quite cute. 

Moments Of Love (SmartJames AKA LeonPhob from Don't Say No) from Foremorfilm Production supposed to air Dec 24 directed by Golf Tanwarin (609 Bedtime Story and The Eclipse).

"Congratulations on your 24th birthday, crown prince."

All nobles walked down the hall until they reached him, all of them repeating the same message that he had already heard a thousand of times. After their message, they were quick to introduce themselves before the next person was called forward.

Seungcheol was done with it, his head was already perched on his hand as he tried to keep his eyes open. By now he knew that this wasn't an ordinary birthday celebration, but rather a way for him to find a wife. Thousands of nobles came to the kingdom, all to introduce their daughters and some even their sons. They all wanted the same thing, the crown and a chance to rule over a whole kingdom.

"Bored?" A voice sounded in his head, one that Seungcheol could easily recognize as Jeonghan's. So he let his eyes wander until he found the magician, standing in the back of the giant hall.

The longhaired blond stood there proudly, dressed in a simple white shirt and pants and yet he still shone brightly like an angel to others. The healer, Joshua, stood beside him and was dressed the very same. If Seungcheol didn't know any better, he'd think that they were just too lazy to dress themselves. That wasn't the case, however, as Seungcheol could see the mischief glimmering in their eyes. He could only smile to himself.

"Please excuse me for awhile." Seungcheol excused himself, bowing his head to his parents before descending down the stairs. Once he reached the bottom, he took large strides to the mischievous pair until he was close enough. Then they exited together and Seungcheol could only imagine the looks on his parents faces when they realized what he was doing.

"Hyung!" Another voice exclaimed and there came Lee Seokmin, dressed in his usual stable clothes and dragging an angry Lee Jihoon behind him. Seokmin was smiling brightly from ear to ear, Jihoon was not.

"Mingyu and Wonwoo are already outside, let's go!" Seokmin exclaimed happily and Seungcheol only smiled at the younger before following his steps.

"Why did I have to be here again?" "Oh, cheer up Jihoonie! It's Cheolie's birthday, we can't leave him with those stuck-ups." Jeonghan exclaimed, but Jihoon only grumbled on in response. Seungcheol smiled again before focusing on not tripping over his own feet, squinting to see anything in the dimly lit halls. Once outside, he spotted Mingyu and Wonwoo along with Vernon. All dressed in the same outfit, a dark shirt and brown pants. Clearly Seungcheol was missing an important dress code at this point.

The walk to town didn't take long and the sights of the forest and its creatures fascinated Seungcheol enough to make him stumble a couple of times. Not a single sight could top that of nature itself, Seungcheol thought. Unless you counted dragons, but those hadn't been spotted in the kingdom for years and thus Seungcheol had never actually met one.

"It's here!" Seokmin suddenly exclaimed and everyone looked at the younger in confusion, only Vernon seemed to agree. Joshua was the first to step forward, wrapping his arm around Seokmin's neck and pulling him down in a headlock.

"We're in the middle of nowhere!" He sneered softly, but Seokmin was quick to disagree as he pointed somewhere.

"Are you here for the Hippogriff Tavern?" "Seungkwan!" Seokmin called out happily to the stranger and everyone turned to look.

Before them stood a man and although it was dark, they could all quickly acknowledge the man as a mermaid or siren. His eyes had a serenity shine and his hair was a bright blue color that was not natural in any human way, almost like it glowed in the dark. If those weren't enough, the man wore shells and pearls like chains around his waist that would make most nobles see green of envy. Last but not least, the man's gills were slightly visible although they were clearly closed at the moment.

"Hello!" He chirped to the rest of the group before walking past them, revealing his sharp canines as he smiled. He walked further in the forest before disappearing in a mist and stunning the group he left behind.

"Oh, magic shield!" Jeonghan was quickly interested and Seungcheol was sure that Jihoon was also fascinated as he stepped closer with and inspective gaze. When they crossed the barrier, they too disappeared from view. Naturally, everyone else followed.

Now there was a tavern, lights shining through the tinted windows and lights floating around and flowers blooming beautifully. Seungcheol only smiled before he followed the rest inside.

Music echoed through the tavern, a happy tune that accompanied the loud chattering. The people inside all seemed unique, carrying their obvious creature features with pride.

"Gremlin!" A loud voice yelled above the chatter and a pixie seemed to appear out of nowhere, throwing himself on Jihoon.

The pixie wore a bright smile, eyes squinted and nose scrunched up. His hair was a light brown, curls bouncing and thus revealing his pointy ears that were covered with earrings and cuffs. His ears were the only indication of him being a pixie, otherwise he would definitely be seen as a human.

Jihoon started to squirm around in the pixie's grip, curses in his own language were clear to everyone around as he grumbled 'I'm not a gremlin, I'm an alchemist!'. The pixie didn't seem to care much.

Seokmin had moved to a table, a couple of people sat there and Seungcheol was astounded. One was Seungkwan and the other three were unknown.

One had bright red hair, two long strands at the front while the rest was cut shorter to the nape. The hair looked curly as well and two golden horns were poking out of the curls, revealing him to be a dragon as Seungcheol suspected. The man's green eyes were quick to move his way before turning back to the cup in front of him, which seemed to be some kind of tea.

Next to the dragon man sat a man with blond hair that was carrying some braids and hair jewels, pointy ears sticking out. An elf.

Last, but not least, was you. You were sitting next to Seungkwan, dressed in a white dress with a brown corset. Flowers were weaved into your hair, small jewels handing from your braids and the area around you was covered in moss. You were a dryad.

Seokmin pulled him along, smiling brightly as he greeted everyone. The dragon was called Minghao, the elf was Junhui and you were named (y/n). When Seokmin and Seungcheol reached the table properly, your face was finally shown to Seungcheol and he felt his heart skip a beat when his eyes connected to your golden ones.

"Hello! You can sit next to me if you want." You gave a bright smile to him and he returned it, sitting beside you. It was then that Seungcheol could smell the flowers that surrounded you, somehow it felt relaxing.

Soon enough, the table was filled with more people. The pixie, that was still bothering Jihoon to some extent, was called Soonyoung or Hoshi and he apparently knew Jihoon since birth. It sounded logical, but everyone seemed to wonder how the elder one was still alive.

"Where's Chan?" Jihoon was the first to talk and Seungcheol couldn't help but flinch when he heard a loud giggle above him. Looking up, he spotted a young boy on the ceiling. His legs were wrapped around the support beam, smiling brightly at the people beneath him.

Bright wings erupted from his back and it was then that Seungcheol noticed the pointier ears along with, what seemed to be, some kind of pollen that fluttered down from the person. A fairy and seemingly a mischievous one.

"Why is everyone here?" The boy, Seungcheol assumed that his name was Chan like Jihoon said, asked and Seokmin happily replied that it was Seungcheol's birthday.

"It's your birthday? Why didn't you say so!" You exclaimed suddenly as you rushed out of your seat before returning with a cupcake that held a single candle. Silence suddenly filled the whole tavern, all eyes turned to your table and more importantly to the dryad that held the cupcake.

Awkwardly, Seungcheol blew out the candle and little fireworks erupted from the cupcake.

"You made a wish, right?" Chan asked and with a glare of Jeonghan, Seungcheol only nodded at the smiling teen. Chan only smiled brighter before letting himself drop down on the table, which quickly earned a loud his from Minghao as he spilled the cup that stood on the table.

The chatter started up again, almost like nothing had happened before. You had sat down again and handed the cupcake to Seungcheol with another smile.

Suddenly, Seungcheol had a lot more friends than he had an hour ago.

From then on, at least one day a week he would come to the tavern. He would often just sit in the corner, waiting for you to finish your job at the tavern. You then joined him and talked, always having something new and interesting to tell him.

Once you told him about Minghao accidently setting Junhui on fire after the older annoyed him a bit too much, or how Chan kept pestering Mingyu or Seungkwan with his notorious pranks that were often planned with Soonyoung. Although the stories were interesting to hear, Seungcheol didn't come to the tavern weekly for them. Rather he came for you, to stare at you and listen to your sweet voice. There was something about you that mad him want to come back, from jeonghan's point of view it was definitely a crush but Seungcheol didn't agree with that statement.

Maybe it was just that he wasn't treated like he was only a prince and not an actual person.

Whatever it was, he knew for sure that he didn't mind the feeling. It didn't get in the way of his work and it made him somewhat more peaceful to think about you. So he didn't really think too much about it.

"Cheol?" Your voice interrupted his thoughts and he looked up at you, returning your smile with one of his own as you sat down opposite of him. Your hair was loose today and you wore a green dress, which was covered in pearls that Seungkwan probably gave you and Seungcheol could also notice the little acorns hanging in your hair. He had the same ones, Soonyoung had a habit of collecting things and handing them out to his friends as little trinkets and this week it was acorns. His mother had started growing suspicious when she found all trinkets in Seungcheol's room, some weirder than others, and he didn't know how to explain that a pixie gave those to him.

"I have an errand to run, would you like to join me?" You asked and Seungcheol nodded before standing up, maybe a bit too quickly. You didn't seem to notice it, only smiling as you grabbed a box before walking out with him.

"So, will you be going to the prince's party?" "What?" Seungcheol looked at you in confusion and you paused before pulling a paper from your pocket, almost dropping the box in the process. When he saw the paper, Seungcheol could only laugh.

Of course his parents planned a ball in his name, an engagement party at that. In bold letters was a mentioning of a search for the future queen, underneath a smaller mention that even "monsters" were invited. Sure, they didn't say monsters but Seungcheol knew his parents and their dislike for the magical.

"Jeonghan said that all of you were going and I don't think my friends would pass up on a party." You joked and Seungcheol could only give you a weak smile.

He hadn't told you, he hadn't told anyone. He believed that Seungkwan knew, because Vernon couldn't keep his mouth shut to the siren that he called his best friend.

"I might go, yes." He finally answered, although his heart felt heavy. He had to tell you, he had to do so now.

"Great, I'll see you there!" You didn't give him the chance as you suddenly bolted off with the box in your arms and giving him no chance to follow. He could only watch your figure disappear.

The ball was here, but Seungcheol didn't want to go out into the hall. He felt like he'd suffocate, his clothes felt too tight and his lungs felt like they were filling with water. The crown that laid on his head felt like it was made with cement, pushing him down and yet he could not take it off. His parents were waiting for him inside and so was everyone else, but you would be there too.

"-cheol!" A voice yelled out to him, but the words sounded muffled like he was underwater and his sight had turned blurry. Jeonghan stood before him, a worried look on his face that would normally make Seungcheol laugh. Now he couldn't, his lack of air made it impossible to think straight and it was then that someone else's figure entered his vision. A hand laid on his back, one finger softly tapping his back in a rhythm. He was quick to try and follow said rhythm, pushing his breath in and out of his lungs at the right pace until he finally could see properly again.

"Now why on earth were you having a panic attack?" Jihoon's voice rang out from behind Seungcheol and he was quick to thank the younger as he got back up on his feet.

"Let's just go..." Seungcheol mumbled as he made his way to the giant doors. The others made their ways inside by a different door, waiting for Seungcheol to enter.

"Where's Cheol?" You asked Jihoon, who only stared ahead at the spot where the others stood. Jeonghan and Joshua stood by the throne, dressed both in white clothes that you were sure that were their official clothes, and Vernon stood a bit below by his fellow soldiers. When your question wasn't answered, you just sighed softly before waiting.

Then Seungcheol came out of the giant doors.

Dressed in his royal clothes,. A white shirt with a royal blue jacket on top of it, the jacket embroidered with golden details and little gems covered the bottom, and black pants that showed of his lean figure. And of course, the golden crown hidden behind the curls of his hair. He looked stunning.

"He's the crown prince..." Soonyoung was the first to speak out of all of you, his eyes trained on Seungcheol as the prince descended down the stairs with his eyes to the ground.

The ball began, but all of you remained in the same spot with a bit of shock.

"He definitely looks the part, no?" Seungkwan spoke up next, his arm wrapping around your shoulders as he stared at the prince with a smile. You were still staring as well, unaware of Seungkwan beside you as you tried to process everything.

"I'm in love with the crown prince..." The words were barely a whisper, yet your group had heard them all too well as they all turned to you in shock.

"You should go to her." Jeonghan spoke, nudging Seungcheol happily as he watched the scene before him. The group was surrounding you, all happily yapping away and Jeonghan could hear every single thing. Not that Seungcheol had to know that just yet, Jeonghan wanted a bit more chaos today.

Seungcheol nodded, making his way down to the dance floor. All girls had their eyes on him, all thinking the same thing. They needed to dance with the future king. Seungcheol didn't give them a chance as he strode your way and Junhui was the first to pull him closer to the group with a happy smile, leaving most girls disappointed.

"(Y/n)?" He talked to you first and the rest grew quiet, all watching the exchange with mischievous smiles. You looked at him before nodding, waiting for him to say what he wanted to. Seungcheol didn't say anything for a few seconds, taking in how beautiful you looked in your dress.

"Dance? I mean, would you like to dance? With me?" He asked, almost glaring at the others as he heard their stifled laughter. You, on the other hand, looked at him in shock before recovering and quickly agreeing. With that, Seungcheol took ahold of your hand in his before guiding you to the dance floor. The music changed just as you reached it, a slower but lively melody that both of you immediatley smiled at.

Seungcheol pulled you a bit closer, one hand on your waist while the other still held one of yours. Then he started to guide you to the dance, the music guiding him as the two of you danced across the dance floor. For some reason, you felt so happy that flowers started to grow in your hair and covering your dress. Seungcheol could only smile.

"You seem happy. You're even growing azaleas." He commented and you laughed softly, trying to not step on his feet as you laughed. You were unconsciously growing his birth flowers, which only meant one thing.

You were certainly in love with Seungcheol.

"You're in love with me?" Seungcheol's voice pulled your from your thoughts, making you realize that you said your last thoughts out loud. Your eyes widened, staring at Seungcheol as you tried to come up with an excuse. You didn't need to, however, as Seungcheol only smiled brightly in return before pulling you a bit closer. He leaned down until he reached your ear.

"I love you too." He whispered before leaning back up and continuing to dance to the music. Although still shocked, you followed his movements as you tried to process it everything. Only when the music stopped, you realized everything. With wide eyes, you pointed your finger at yourself in surprise.

"You like me?" You asked, a slight stutter in your voice and Seungcheol nodded at you with a smile.

"Kiss each other already!" Jeonghan's voice sounded in both your and Seungcheol's heads, making you both glare at him intensely as you made your way off of the dance floor.

"You're a couple now, right?" Seungkwan was the first to ask, both him and Seokmin looking at the two of you in excitement while the others just tried to suppress their laughter once more. Seungcheol kept quiet, almost like he was waiting for you to answer the question. So you agreed to it, smiling brightly as you watched Seungcheol's face go red.

"Don't you agree?" You asked him, giving him a sweet smile that only made his face go redder than before. His mouth opened before closing again, his eyes staring at the ground and you could only smile at how cute he looked at that moment.

"Yeah, I'd like that."

Ah, the perfect Phantom to finish my journey and relieve me from my tears after the painful two show Kim Ju-taek/Jo Seung-woo slam the day before! Yes, please erase the poor meow meow thoughts from my mind!

My 6th and final round of POTO and 1st round of 'Choi Jae-rim is a Traumatized French Man Double Marathon'. His only scheduled POTO show during my stay was the day before Les Mis opening night in Busan. So I did not have a spare day like I thought would and I had to hop cities the next morning to see him as Valjean. I originally had a seat up high, but I just had to move myself close on the floor again for my grand finale. Seeing a seat open up during cancellations near my favorite side of the stage, the side with the most action, pretty much sealed the deal. I've always wanted to see a ~scary~ Phantom so let's go out with a bang!

If you're looking for some Erik x Christine, wrong Phantom for you! There wasn't much sugar-coating here. CJR Phantom is the opposite of JSW and JDS Phantoms to me; he's the most like a dark fallen angel. He's dangerous, unnerving, and has a lot more confidence with his actions than the others.

Hannibal Rehearsal / Think of Me

The audience seemed especially hyped today lol. Park Hoe-rim always holds Piangi’s note in Hannibal for a very long time and people applaud him for it. The cheers were loud today though even though audiences usually didn’t make much noise to avoid being disruptive! At the end of Song Eun-hye’s ‘Think of Me’ there was also a very excited reaction from the audience. Love this cast showing off where they can heh

First Lair | MOTN/STYDI

He's the only Phantom to sing "넌 이곳에 오직 나만을 위하여 / You are here for me alone" as "넌 이곳에 오직 한가지 이유로 / You are here for only one reason" at the organ because he's just different and not like other girls okay During MOTN, he was was confidently luring and hypnotizing her with no hesitation or uncertainty. The way he moved his entire body, especially his arms and hands (huge hands goddamn dude), was very flashy and dramatic. He's "overdoing it", but in a way that's very fitting for his Phantom's eccentric personality. I think you can already tell something is off about his Phantom as a person here. You can hear it in his voice a bit too. It had a sort of unearthly mesmerizing quality to it. This is the closest to a mysterious dark angel out of the Phantoms. He's especially possessive, but it's more in the way you might expect and different from KJT Phantom. The way he draws her to him with his hands, the way he touches his lips when he comes around the organ towards her 👀 He even tugged her along a bit when he led her to the bride in the mirror and urged her to look at the gift. With SEH Christine it was interesting to see her slowly unwind throughout the song since she's the more hesitant of the two. A Christine like SJS is definitely easier "prey" for him

Here's a little taste of his Music of the Night. Some of his more dramatic movements are actually a little bit similar to how he moved as the Phantom in this song, but he has a specific strange aura when actually in character.

I Remember / Stranger Than You Dream It

...SEH Christine is a little too curious and innocent maybe. Because wow if I saw a big weird masked man looking like that while working I simply? Would not want to mess with him at all, not getting anywhere near him. While the music box played, he was breathing (almost grunting) very audibly and heavily in frustration. He was very tense and focused. She was very playful and even mischievous-looking as she tried to swipe at his mask. It was like a game to her. Right at the moment he seemed to find his flow, playing the music in the air with his eyes closed, she succeeded. He's the scariest one during the outburst! His voice sounded venomous at the start and his eyes were wild as he covered the side of his face with both hands. The way he tilted his head watching her was very off-putting. Actually rather than becoming sadder, he almost seemed even creepier as he got closer. My seat was very close on that end of the stage and as I saw him approaching I wanted to back away myself! But at the end, I did start to feel sorry for him. It was really pitiful seeing this magnificent and seemingly magical genius be reduced to...this. The other Phantoms appear more human here, but he truly did look like some dark being trying desperately to be like a regular human, trying to be a part of this world. The angel of music is not, in fact, an angel, but....well who knows what he is. When she returned the mask, he looked like he couldn't make sense of what was happening. I could see his eyes glistening a little like tears were threatening to fall. I think he felt especially uncomfortable looking so weak in front of her. His Phantom felt like he had everything completely under control, but he managed to be disarmed so suddenly. His face was now revealed as well as the hidden dark part of himself

AIAOY Reprise

Kinda upset that my angle made it difficult to see him because the angel wing was obstructing him the times he wasn't leaning forward enough. But also how does he even fit on there. And also how did he manage to be the one who moved the least? He must be folded like an origami piece up there. Anyway oh boy. When saying Christine's name the first time, he sounded broken and small while looking down. But the second time he slowly lifted his head giving a cold dark stare ahead and spoke in a low and threatening voice that faded off. He had this rage building up and spreading through him and began his final lines in a harsh growling voice. He's extra intimidating because he kind of just fully gets up making himself as big as possible. I was laughing during intermission when I was heading to the lobby and two girls ran by me in the aisle going "EEEEE 무서워요!! / I'm scared!" So true, girlies, so true

Why So Silent?

JDS/KJT Phantoms lift up Christine's chin when they finally address her, but he pulled her a little roughly towards him. Not a big thing but definitely got a yikes from me when I saw it!

Wandering Child

Oh he is so weird and freaky somebody's gotta push him off that mausoleum I don't like it (no I love it as an acting choice though I just mean it's uncomfortable) 😭 The way he moves his entire body so much is so creepy? How do I even describe those movements. He would crouch or lean forward in a lunging position, but also made these big gestures with his arms again and looked like he was trying to use some power to pull Christine towards him He used an odd sarcastic tone mocking Raoul like he barely even viewed him as a threat.

The Point of No Return

The trap is set and waits for its prey! ...But also, Christine, Piangi just grew like 10 feet taller turning into a brick wall of a man and you don't find this.... suspicious maybe? No? Okay... He opens that curtain and it's like:

ANYWAY He had such an eerie way of singing to me. There was this hypnotic energy again like in MOTN. Once again the hands...when he tips her head side to side with his fingers under her chin in his last lines of his verse it's like he's putting her in a trance. She actually looked a bit disoriented for a moment, but her expression was slowly changing like she was suspecting something was wrong even before she turned to him. He was scarily calm looking throughout the song. You mostly just saw his shoulders moving from his slow steady breathing. Occasionally he would slowly take a look at her to see what she was doing, but it was more like he was preparing himself than getting stressed. She touched him and he only flinched very slightly before reaching up to her completely ready to join their hands. He was practically pulling her down actually to touch her more. I think he was sure that he was succeeding. When she had discovered him, he closed in like a beast about to pounce with his hands in position to grab her in case she tried to flee. But when she threw the hood off he was taken off guard During the AIAOY Reprise "언제나, 어디든, 영원히 / Always, anywhere, forever" -> "Anywhere you go let me go too" was a painful cry as well as the word "어둠에 / (into) darkness" in "또 다시 지옥 같은 어둠에 / Once again into darkness like hell" later for Down Once More and he delivered his next lines in a terrifying voice. It was similar to the AIAOY Reprise on the angel. I have to admit it partially concerned me (just because here and Les Mis he had a few slight rough moments, he cracked a tiny bit at the very end of 'Who Am I' after an otherwise very solid note). Overall though I think he has amazing ability and it's just wear from the rough schedule he has unfortunately. The choices did work either way!

Final Lair

He is so unhinged and unstable. Now he had this rough vicious villainous tone and sometimes he used that mocking voice again like he did in 'Bravo Monsieur'. He practically hissed out the line about the world never accepting him. His gestures with his arms were so theatrical and huge and the way he moved about was so heavy, jerky, and unsettling. When he threw the noose on Raoul he had the most terrifying laugh and jumped a little spitting out his taunts loudly He stood up fast and leaned in close to her face to whisper “날 시험하지말고 / Don't test me” so very quietly before he screamed for her to choose. He said it with spite in his voice, but he was actually holding back tears when he turned around. He had been so dangerous before, but Christine managed to disarm him once again with her words. Christine dropped lower from her position on her knees with a sob. It wasn't out of fear, seeing him like this just seemed to hurt her. This kiss was an interesting one to analyze. Some people thought this part tends to make him seem unmoved? But I disagree with the conclusion some people had made around that time that his Phantom didn't change or develop. He wasn't very openly reactive to the first one, he was completely frozen. The second time he clenched and unclenched his fists until he pulled her hand away quickly and rushed off staggering and holding his head. I saw reviews saying he would simply repeat his actions over again based on his reactions. I personally just think his change is different. I think CJR Phantom thinks he knows everything and that he can control everything that will happen so it scares him when he faces something unexpected. I think this is why he started to finally unravel at the very end. He cannot predict anything Christine will do, she always does the opposite of what he would think. Love and compassion were the last things he would ever expect. I don't even think he knew what kindness looks like. But he finally understood in that moment and he also understood that he couldn't force her to be there with him now. Something I noted during this performance in particular: HGH Raoul tried to urge Christine that they need to leave, but SWG would seem a bit confused in the moment and look at the Phantom like he was trying to understand what just happened. It just especially stood out to me across from CJR Phantom because of how much of a threat he had been. He was trying to process this because of the way the Phantom was just moments before and almost looked like he maybe even pitied him in a weird way. Christine came back pretty early this time to return the ring and watched the Phantom while covering her mouth in disbelief. It was as if this was the one moment he finally showed his real human side to her. She could really see him as a regular man now. When he realized she was there, he was really startled and practically jumped away like he was bracing himself for something (perhaps thinking the mob had arrived for him?). He went over to her wondering why she had returned, but once he realized he softly sang that he loved her. She nodded knowingly trying to hold back her tears. He looked so small suddenly when she left him alone there

Please when I tell you Jae-rim got the loudest screams out of every curtain call I experienced lol. He was goofing off, but at one point the shrieking was so loud he looked a little embarrassed about it heh. Even louder than that though was his Les Mis curtain call where everyone just about lost their goddamn minds seeing him pick up and spin little Cosette (I was one of those people, I'm weak)

He sings the actual show pretty differently and his vocals have improved, but it's still very nice and interesting to listen to after all this time.

It was truly a dream experience for a longtime POTO fan to be able to see the show done in so many ways over just a few days.

“Is this on yet?”

Jisung pressed his nose to the screen, trying to get the Live started and running. Behind him Jisoo was rummaging through the cupboards and drawers in search for the items they needed.

“I think so… Soo-ah can you check pls?” he whined to himself and turned to the younger girl.

She looked at him like he had grown a second head.

“Excuse me? How many Live´s have you had already cause it was more than I ´ve done!” she asked but still coming over to check it out.

The rapper went back to where Jisoo originally was and waited for her.

“Hello STAY! Today me and Jisoo are going to cook something!”

“It´s Jisoo and me not me and Jisoo! My dad always said –Der Esel nennt sich immer zuerst- which basically means you are a donkey and it isn´t plite to call yourself first!” she replied and gave her friend an unimpressed look. Jisung pouted at her.

“I´m Quokka not a donkey though!”

Jisoo shook her head, already questioning if it was a good idea to do this with him instead of Minho or Felix.

“Anyways! We planned to make Bulgogi with Stays. Since Minho-oppa does most of the cooking we might have to call in reinforcements at some point!”

“Yah we can do this! Don’t be so pessimistic!”

“I´m doing this with you! I´m just preparing for the worst case scenario.”

Jisung audibly gasped for air, not having expected her quick answer.

The girl had to stifle the laugh that threatened to leave her lips. She took a cutting board and a knife before putting it infront of her member.

“Stop stuttering. Here you can cut the meat into thin stripes while I make sauce so we can marinate it after and the rice is already in the cooker!”

Jisoo showed the bowl in wich the meat was to the camera and gave it to Jisung.

He took the bowl and laid it out on the cutting board. Carefully he started cutting but Jisoo soon took the knife away when she saw how he was holding the knife.

“Boy did your mother never show you how to hold a knife?”

The girl looked almost scared, showing him how to hold it and gave it back.

“I know how to use a knife you brat!” he called out and started to cut again. Which was wrong again!

The dancer gave him the ingredients for the sauce and her phone which had the recipe on it, taking over the meat cutting.

“You just have to add everything together and stir until the sugar and honey are dissolved! That´s all you have to do.”

Soon the meat was sliced into thin strips and the marinade was added.

While mixing everything together they decided to read some comments together.

“How is it to share a room with each other? Honestly I can´t complain that much. Hannie and Innie are fun to hang out with and we often watch movie nights on I.N´s bed so there is that. Also the two love Nagini and Phini so that´s a plus too!” the girl read out loud for Jisung to hear too.

“The danger noodles are the cutest! She often runs around the dorm with one of them wrapped around her hand. Changbin hates it because she has the tendencie to put her hand on his shoulder and let them wrap around his arm. It´s way to funny and Soo-ah is barely in the room anyway! She´s always at the company or out with her horse friends.”

“Oh they´re asking what show we like to watch right now! I´m not into anything specific!”

“Me neither! I have to start watching something again but right now nothing really. The meat is marinated by the way. What do we do now?”

“We could wrap it in lettuce leafs later If you want?” Jisoo suggested and got the lettuce from the storage room.

She didn´t expect to find Seungmin with Jisung tho.

The two were bickering about the marinated beef and if they it should let it soak a bit longer.

“Hey Seung, what are you doing here?”

“I wanted to say hi to Stays. ANNYEONG!” he yelled into the phone sitting on the counter.

The girl pulled a face at the sudden loudness from her member.

“Just grill the meat already if you are already here. I don´t trust Hannie to do it. Have you seen how he holds a knife?”

“YAH!” he loudly complained and punched her shoulder.

“Why did you punch me? It´s the truth! You can wash and pluck the lettuce but that´s IT. I´m not letting you touch the pan!”

Seungmin started laughing when Jisung got demoted too washing the leafs!

“Stop laughing i´m still not sure if I can trust you with grilling the meat!”

That shut him up quickly and it was Jisungs turn to laugh at the other.

Meanwhile Jisoo only rolled her eyes and wished she had done this alone. It would have been so much quieter and probably cleaner if she looked at the kitchen isle.

Minho would kill them if he walked in on the kitchen looking like that!

The girl started to clean up the bowls and spices they didn´t need anymore before wiping the counter down with wet rag.

“I think the meat is ready now and Sungie is done washing the lettuce!”  Seungmin said and shut the oven off.

Jisung brought over the plucked leafs of the lettuce.

The 3 sat down to start eating. They quickly said goodbye to Stays and ended the Live and all of that without setting the kitchen on fire or calling for help. Even though Jisoo will forever be scared the way Jisung holds a knife!

Stranger (2017; 2019)

A political crime thriller full of red herrings, "Stranger" (Season 1) follows an investigation into the murder of a man who has bribed countless officials from multiple levels and branches of government. Led by stoic prosecutor Hwang Shi Mok (Cho Seung Woo) and feisty detective Han Yeo Jin (Bae Doona), this well-paced, well-acted drama is full of twists and turns that will make you suspect everyone at some point.

Kingdom (2019; 2020)

Historical political drama meets zombie thriller in the 2019 hit "Kingdom" (Season 1). The story follows Crown Prince Yi Chang (Ju Ji Hoon) as he investigates an outbreak of a mysterious plague that turns average citizens into rabid monsters while fighting to keep  his rightful place as heir to the throne. The hit series has led to a second season and a prequel TV movie "Ashin of the North" (2021).

Signal (2016)

Featuring a mysterious walkie-talkie that links the past to the present, "Signal" is one of the most beloved police dramas of the last decade because of its refreshing take on the genre and the top-notch performances of its three leads: Kim Hye Soo, Lee Je Hoon, and Jo Jin Woong. 

The Uncanny Counter (2020)

"The Uncanny Counter" is a comedy-drama about four "counters", or grim reapers who have been lent superhuman abilities by a group of spirits. Their main job is to stop demons who possess violent criminals that become more powerful by consuming the souls of their victims. Funny, colorful, and action-packed, the show features wonderful performances from the main actors: Jo Byeong Gyu, Yoon Joon Sang, Kim Se Jeong, and (my personal favorite) Yeom Hye Ran. The hit series has been granted a second season.

Racket Boys (2021)

If you need a feel-good drama that's not too heavy on the tears, crime, and lovey-dovey tropes, then this may be for you. "Racket Boys" is about an underdog middle school badminton team that dreams to make a mark on the national level and beyond. The rural setting and endearing ensemble cast, led by the talented Tang Jun Sang, allow for lighthearted moments but are never too cartoonish. A puppy love storyline exists between the leads, but it's very wholesome and innocent, and given far less importance than the struggle surrounding the national tournament.

Squid Game (2021)

International smash hit "Squid Game" is about a mysterious organization that selects individuals with impossible debt to participate in a series of children's games to have a shot at winning 45.6 billion won. The catch: only the winner gets to live. Features an amazing ensemble cast led by Lee Jung Jae, Park Hae Soo, and impressive newcomer Jung Ho Yeon.

Dear My Friends (2016)

A slice-of-life comedy drama featuring a stellar ensemble cast of the most accomplished Korean actors and actresses over 60, "Dear My Friends" follows 40-year-old writer Park Wan (Go Hyun Jung) as she chronicles the stories of her mother, her aunts, and their families. There are two romantic side stories here but the overall plot is more invested in how your friends can become your family especially after you reach a certain age. Think "Golden Girls" but in Korea. Praise-worthy acting from everyone involved, especially the main quintet: Na Moon Hee, Kim Hye Ja, Go Doo Shim, Park Won Sook, and Oscar winner Youn Yuh Jung.

Live (2018)

"Live" is a slice-of-life, police procedural drama that tells the story of rookies and veterans at Hongil Station in Seoul, where there is no shortage of petty and violent crimes. The crimes featured examine the decisions that South Korean cops have to make especially in dangerous situations wherein the gray areas become even grayer. There are romantic storylines between the four leads but they never overshadow the cases. Wonderful acting, especially from Bae Sung Woo and Bae Jeong Ok who play the veterans Oh Yang Chon and Ahn Jang Mi, respectively. Also stars funny man Lee Kwang Soo and the angelic Jung Yu Mi (Train to Busan).

Vincenzo (2021)

Born in South Korea, adopted into an Italian family, mafia lawyer Vincenzo Cassano (Song Joong Ki) flies back to Seoul after falling out with his adopted brother following the death of his boss/father-figure. His mission is to retrieve gold hidden beneath the dilapidated Geumga Plaza before it is ultimately demolished by the evil Babel Group that constantly harrasses its tennants to move out. Teaming up with the feisty lawyer Hong Cha Young (Jeon Yeo Been, Vincenzo uses mafia tactics in his war against the conglomerate that thinks itself above the law. What sounds like a heavy premise is offset by the physical and witty comedy provided by the charismatic leads and supporting cast. There is romance between the leads (who share great chemistry nonetheless) but it is by no means the driving force of this story. They could have recasted this with two male leads as more of a bromance story and the outcome would be quite similar, but Jeon Yeo Been gives a unique, quirky flair to her character that makes her difficult to replace.

Hyena (2020)

I know I said this wasn't a list for romantic K-Dramas but hear me out. There's romance but it's not what you think (the leads kiss a grand total of 3 times, twice in the first ep then once a little later). "Hyena" explores the world of corporate lawyers who serve the South Korean 1%. It's a dog-eat-dog world where the most conniving and least picky hyena reigns supreme. The hyena in question would be the brilliant renegade lawyer Jang Geum Ja (Kim Hye Soo). Sparks fly as she goes head to head with the by-the-book, elite lawyer Yoon Hee Jae (Ju Ji Hoon), whose ideals are constantly challenged as his world unravels around him.  The cases are challenging and the solutions that the leads come up with are intriguing. Romance doesn't drive this drama, but the chemistry between the leads is undeniable.

Seungmin’s POV

Enthralled by the sight in front of me, I sat as if in a trance just staring. I probably looked like a creep. But I just couldn’t remove my eyes. I could barely blink, afraid I would something. It was captivating. I became emerged in the moment, daydreaming of being a part of it. 

“Hey, Seungmin. Yo, man? Hello? You there?” I shook my head, ending my trance. I blinked a couple times in confusion to comprehend the situation. “Huh, oh, yeah. What’s up man?” Jiseok, my best friend, sat down beside me out in the courtyard. “Dude, you were totally staring. You gotta stop it, people are beginning to talk about how weird you are for just zoning out and staring like that all the time. You should be happy that no one else knows what, or who, you are staring at,” I let out a deep sigh before lowering my gaze to the ground, huh one of my shoelaces are untied I should fix that. “I know, it’s not like I think about it. It kind of just happens. I can’t help it that my eyes always seem to find her wherever I am,” Jiseok put his hand on my shoulder lightly squeezing in a somewhat comforting way. “Seung, this isn’t healthy. Come on,” “where are we going Seok?” “We, are going to meet up with the others and we’re going to have fun to take your mind of, all this,” I tried to give him a smile, but my muscles just weren’t cooperating with me, no matter how much I tried I couldn’t bring myself to smile. “Okay, let me just fix my shoelace,” As I bent down to retie my shoelace my eyes once again fell upon the same place as a minute before but now I found that bench empty, void of the one my eyes searched for. With one more deep sigh I stood up, grabbed my bag and walked away with Jiseok beside me. Maybe this is for the best, maybe distance and distractions are what I need. 

15 minutes later I found myself in Gunil’s parent’s garage where our little group of friends usually hang out. So far it was Gunil, Jiseok and I there. Jungsu, Hyungjun and Jooyeon were gonna be here in a couple minutes. I slouched down on one of the armchairs, how come life had to be so hard. Why are you so cruel? Was I asking too much? 

“YOOOO, Jooyeon in the houseeee!” And there he was, the maknae of out group, also the most energetic one - well most of the time at least. After Jooyeon came Jungsu and Hyungjun who both were much calmer - maybe because those two are introverted while the rest of us are extroverted. Jungsu took a seat in the armchair beside mine. “Hey Seungmin, how are you feeling?” Everyone sat down in their preferred spots and quieted down to hear my answer. “Like crap. I just want to like rip my heart out or something,” “Look, I kind of know what you are going through. Remember Yunhee? I was so in love with her but she rejected me, publicly, you know in front of the entire school. I thought she liked me too, but I was very wrong. However, I hadn’t known her as long as you’ve known (Y/n). So I don’t know exactly what you’re going through but we are here for you. I know you’re hurting but you’re not alone,” I looked toward Gunil with teary eyes.

“Seeing her everyday just hurts so much. I know she’s happy with him and I should be happy for her but god damn it hurts not having her. Knowing I created this cliff that drives us apart. I just want her back, I just want my friend back. My mom called yesterday asking if (Y/n) had talked about how we would celebrate christmas, if we were going to their house or to ours. Mom forgot that I told her that (Y/n) and I aren’t friends anymore. Do you know how much it hurt hearing my mom ask that? Every christmas prior to this one I’ve spent with my family and (Y/n) along with her family. But now, because of me, our parents can’t be friends anymore. I didn’t only ruin things for myself but for my parents as well,” “Seungmin, it might feel weird but technically, your parents and (Y/n)’s could still hang out but the two of you might not want to be there for now. Maybe in the future you can go back to your old ways. You never know,” “I guess you’re right,” Jun Han, always the one to bring in these nuanced thoughts, “But, I don’t know if I will ever loose these feelings. Thank you guys,” For the first time in a while I could conjure up a tiny smile, although the smile did nothing to conceal the dead and empty look in my eyes as I felt the great void of losing someone precious. The night continued with us playing some games to try and get my mind of (Y/n). It didn’t work fully but there were short fleeting moments when I felt like my old happy self once again. One day, I will be okay again. 

Christmas came around and it had been decided that I would celebrate with my family, who were going to celebrate with (Y/n), her family and her boyfriend. I found this out the morning of Christmas, so I had no chance of getting out of it. I would have to sit at the table watching as the love of my life is with someone who isn’t me.  

And so dinner time came around as the whole (Y/n) entourage arrived. Fortunately, I didn’t sit beside (Y/n) or her boyfriend, nor was I sitting directly opposite one of them. I was diagonally across from (Y/n) and with my brother in front of me. Occasionally my eyes would wonder and end up stopping once they fell upon (Y/n). I admired her smile, her laugh, her. Just everything about her. Suddenly, she turned her head and even though I hurriedly averted my eyes she still caught me staring. For the rest of the evening, I kept to the background, always with my eyes on the ground to avoid doing the same mistake again. Once the night came to an end, I watched as (Y/n) kissed her boyfriend outside our porch from the window in the kitchen, I dreamt of it being me but shook my head to rid myself of such thoughts. It could never be us. Throughout the night, we didn’t speak a single word to one another, not even hello or goodbye. 

It felt like those nightmare when you are running in a hallway but no matter how much you run you can never reach the end, the hallway just keeps going and going. It’s hopeless, no matter what you try, you can never make it out. Maybe if you came to a halt you would find a way out but then again, the monster chasing you is scary enough to keep you in motion. Stopping would mean death, probably, who knows. That’s exactly what I feel with you. I am always so close, yet so far away. You are always just barely out of my reach. No matter what I tried I just couldn’t get to you, I could never have you. You made that very clear. 

Seeing you with him, hurts. But what hurts the most, is the distance, the distance I created by telling you. Telling you I was in love with you, my childhood friend. Hearing  you laugh at me, thinking I was joking hurt. “Seungmin, you’re hilarious. That’s a good joke. But you know we could never date, we’re like siblings. Oh but now that we’re talking about things like these, I’m in love with -” One of our upperclassmen, and apparently he liked you too. And now you’re dating. In the beginning the growing distance wasn’t that noticeable, but you stopped sitting close enough to touch me, you stopped hugging me, we never had physical contact anymore. Then it was the physical conversations, you drifted away further and further, we barely spoke in person anymore. Finally, you stopped calling and you stopped answering my calls, we no longer texted or sent memes to one another. I gave up after you had ghosted me for a week. That’s when I knew that I had lost you.

Now all I can do is watch you from afar as you do all the things I dreamt of doing with you with him. Always looking away when you look my way because I don’t want to seem like a creep. I just can’t help myself, to me you are the sun. You are the most beautiful person in the world, to me you are a work of art. But just like with art pieces, I can only watch from a distance never close enough to feel you. Maybe I should have just kept my mouth shut and kept these stupid feelings hidden so that you wouldn’t be so far away.

Island, episode 5 + spoilers

No wonder everybody wants to binge when usually viewers have to wait the whole eternity to get some proper answers. Well, not here we don't. It's good they don't keep us waiting for too long.

So this happened. Talking about being devoted to protecting Mi-ho during the beast mode. Van totally wins this round.

Umm hello, universe, that's the kind of boyfriend I'm looking for, ok, take notes! I have a feeling he'll keep winning every round.

Van's brother, however... What's with that summoning ritual right at the beginning? Come on, why do the hottest ones have to be evil.

Oh well, that's a sign right there all hell is going to break loose, of course. So now we have two powerful forces with the urge to kill Mi-ho, the ultimate girlboss, the greatest potential threat to the demon who's been keeping both of these guys alive since the old times? While one of them is deeply in love with her and has been in love with her for so many years? Cute.

This smells like blood, as our cute Gio would say. Reeks of murder and betrayal. I see the handsome blondie dead in the near future, as the final step towards lust demon's downfall. And everyone of us crying over it. But let's see.

Apparently, Van's residency is within a Faraday cage, no signal goes in, no signal goes out.

Of course our main she-wolf went to check upon Van as he ran never to return again after that stab stab incident.

What? It's not like I've never dated a guy who almost got me killed, so who am I to judge. I bet there's many of us out there, we'll know better next time *deep sigh*

At least this is a fiction, so we can all just forget about that crazy attack altogether now. If Mi-ho can let it go, so can we. Stay strong you guys.

Ahhh priest Gio, did you really have to cause an unnecessary scene like that?! Can't you just be cute and fluffy? Like a good boy? Did more damage than good, and the food went to waste, those dumplings looked delicious.

Anyways, in this episode they really payed tribute to Eunwoo's cuteness.

Also, we find out more about his life, he has a brother and both of them grew up as orphans. I mean if that doesn't soften your heart I really don't know what to say. I love the fact that Mi-ho pulled her connections to find Gio's brother, as they were separated as children. Real girl boss move.

Let's go boy, time to get your life back together. (⁠◠⁠‿⁠◕⁠) ahhh but seeing him with eyes full of tears afterwards really felt like a punch in the face, I hate seeing him sad and can't wait to see the happy reunion of the two brothers.

But that's not all, the emotional rollercoaster you'll get to experience in this one is crazy. And I know they had to make some really bad moves to make it a good series but... Killing Seung-joon, Mi-ho's bestie's future hubby? Right before the wedding? Did they really have to break the most cheerful character's heart and spirit and dreams in order to accomplish the horror effect of Gungtan?

Let's just remember her like this, ok? Because she could be an actual villain in the making after this tragedy and I refuse to believe that... She was so adorable with her fiance, I was looking forward to that wedding. Writers kind of screw this one up...could have at least given us the wedding.

And what were they thinking, I bet anyone watching knew he'll end up dead the second he set foot outside. I mean, the killer is on the loose and the whole island knows it. Bloody carrot cake and corsage...it was not worth it.

Final scene of Gungtan murdering the poor man and delivering him to Van. Like when a cat brings its prey back home. The fuq. It made me furious. I mean, we can easily label him as a sociopath, right?

But it's ok because at least he's a hot sociopath(⁠ʘ⁠ᴗ⁠ʘ⁠✿⁠) you may say.

Girl, no! We have more than enough of handsome characters already. Go back into your pit Gungtan!

And then we finally find out that cool priest Gio's name is actually Kang Chan-hyuk. Ok Chan-hyuk, that's adorable but you will always be my baby Gio (⁠｡⁠･⁠ω⁠･⁠｡⁠)⁠ﾉ⁠♡

My poor heart can't take this. Like let me adopt you both sweet babies. I'd love you till the end of time and wouldn't let a single hair fall off your heads ♡

Just as that scene ends, Van finally meets his brother as well, and it goes something like this:

The Vampire Diaries, s1e1, final scene, anyone? Damon and Stephan "hello brother" scene?? The whole Island team doing their best to make us fall for him, how low can they go???? Sung-joon, Sung-joon, he is something else. I mean look at him.

Oh god, imagine Gungtan being in love with Mi-ho as well, just like Damon was in love with Elena? *panics in confusion*

Let's just hope they didn't take it that far and that creators of Island were a bit smarter that that. I really hated the "brother switch" in tvd.

“Behave. I’ll be home by 6am on the dot. Remember NO BOYS INSIDE YOUR ROOM.”- said your brother Soobin as he waved goodbye whit his big long floppy ears up as he’s always been so overprotective of you.

You can’t really blame him, he’s your big rabbit older brother after all. And the fact that you have 12 male friends, always activates his overprotective side.

You are all one big friend group. But even still, sometimes you guys forget and get a little too comfortable and close with some of them.

Like with your deer hybrid bff Lee Heeseung who you call “Bambi”. He’s handsome charming points are enough for Soobin to worry about.

Or perhaps maybe the many times you go out with your squirrel bff Kang Taehyun for 3am walks around the park.

You always say you don’t have a favorite, but Bambi and Fluffy Tail are definitely the two you mostly hang out with.

But then there’s Mr.Bear, aka Choi Beomgyu, aka the L.O.Y.L. You two have been dating each other for exactly 4 months now. And although everything with Mr.Pretty Lashes has been a fairy tale, he’s asked for some time alone so he can heal his mental state. Beomgyu has been dealing with fragile mental health and self hate for some time now. And although you all have offered to help him or get him professional help, he always rejects and prefers alone time.

Soobin has a date night with a girl he’s been interested in from school. Now you’re left alone with the tall deer who’s looking for snacks in your kitchen.

You told Soobin you had a sleepover with Seung, and he did have a date planned so he just shrugged the thought of his little sister having a boy with her all alone the whole night and went to his date. Finally letting you breathe for once.

Heeseung sat on your couch in the living room of your house as he was drinking his favorite strawberry milk. You two were planning on a marathon of Stranger Things whole 4 seasons since you two go nuts for the show.

Like the big fans you were. You two had matching baggy sweaters with the words “Stranger Things” printed on it. Looking at the ethereal tall deer who had his antlers adorned with Christmas lights to have the ST theme from when Will disappeared and his mom, Joyce hung up the lights on the wall.

They even switched colors. Your eyes were glowing full of love in “awe” at the adorable view in front of you. Seung was super desperate to watch ST Season 4 with his favorite white rabbit, aka you.

He looks over to you and notices you’re staring at him in “awe”. His eyes dilate whenever he sees you. He can’t deny it. You’re extremely attractive. Even so that all your friends are super whipped over you. Always complimenting you on how cute and pretty you are and how your pinkish floppy long ears are your charming point.

You can barely breathe since the guys are always asking you out to the park, the movies, the aquarium, Ice cream walks around town and more. But you never mind. You love and enjoy their company.

“Yah, Floppy Ears, you’re staring.”- Seung says as he flashes you a warm smile.

“Oh. S-Sorry. I-I uh, should we start the marathon?” - you say as you start to get shy.

He pats down the side of the couch next to him for you to sit. You immediately go and do so.

“Did I just stutter?”- you ask yourself. Nothing much weird but still off.

As you start watching Season 4 you notice the atmosphere around you become warmer and warmer now hotter and hotter. You see from the corner of you left eye, that Heeseung is smiling at the TV. His doe like eyes dilated and glazed. They were shining more than ever.

A few minutes go by and you start to lose focus of the TV screens. All your senses going to Heeseung’s breathing and heart beat that now was driving you insane. Even your legs are triggered making you squeeze them shut to stop whatever it is that you’re feeling as Seung’s cologne is the only scent in the whole room now. Sweat now forming on your forehead and sweaty palms.

Your heartbeat raising like a race you have to win in order to succeed or you’ll be doomed. You wipe off your forehead with your sleeve. Heeseung notices your actions and chuckles.

You immediately look at his eyes that are now almost completely black from how dilated his pupils were. A little caught off guard you gasped and sat straight.

He notices and looks at you with concern. His eyebrows frowned as he’s confused by the actions of his rabbit friend next to him.

“Writing duty calls!!”- you said to him as you stood up from the couch and ran near the stairs to go to your room upstairs.

“But we’re only on episode 5, Y/N!!” - Heeseung said as he whined at your urgency to write when you’ve both been waiting for Season 4 to be out for so long.

“Yes, Lee Heeseung, but if I don’t write this down I’ll forget about it fast. Give me a second, Bambi. I’ll be quick, babe.” - he rolls his eyes and pouts at you.

You go up the stairs to your room, leaving the poor deer in the living room who now happens to realize you just called him ‘babe’. He shrugs it as you sometimes are a bit flirty.

You close your door and lock it.

“Babe?! Y/N, what’s wrong with you!?”

You ask yourself with your hands on your head as the word ‘babe’ keeps repeating in your head reminding you the sudden pet name you just gave your friend downstairs.

You start to freak out suddenly realizing you’ve been acting weird since Soobin left.

“Why am I sweating? Why is my heart raising?” You try to calm down. Maybe worried that you’re starting to catch feelings for Heeseung.

“What NO! It can’t be that. He’s my friend and he’s even slept on my bed next to me. Why am I feeling like this now!?”

You feel bad, wrong and guilty. You have a boyfriend, Beomgyu. And you also lied to Heeseung by saying ‘you have to write something’. You just needed some time alone to stop this sudden wrong feelings.

“What should I do? Maybe I can tell him I feel sick and need to be alone? No! He’s been waiting too long for this day with me. I can’t just bail out on him like that.”

“ so yena, how’s your progress on mr kim’s project ?” seungmin asked, taking a bite into the cake. “the same, nothing. i swear to god mr kim can kiss my ass. he made the work so hard, ugh ! “ seungmin chuckled at her reaction. all you could do was sit in silence. it didnt help much that you didnt arent in mr kim’s class. “you know, if you really needed help, we could do it together right ?” yena’s face brightened up immediately as she forced a smile with her mouth full of cake “really ?! youre such a god sent seung ! i literally love you so much-“ the words had slipped unintentionally. yena’s eyes widened in horror “ NO WAIT Y/N I DIDNT MEAN IT THAT WAY-“ you gave her an awkward chuckle, assuring her that it was fine.

did he only agreed to date you for his own benefits ? did he ever truly love you ? all those “i love you” exchanged, did he ever mean any of it ? you were drowning in your thoughts until someone called your name, snapping you out of it. “y/n ! stop playing with your food… its getting everywhere. why didnt you eat it ? its your favourite…” that sentence confirmed your suspicions, your worst fear. “no.” “no …? i-im lost…”

you were unsure what happened but something inside you snapped. “ no. im done. im done with this hangout. im sitting here like a fool, watching you flirt with her ?! “ seungmin stared at you, offended. “excuse me ?! i set this up for you ! i just thought you would appreciate it if i like your BEST FRIEND come with. unless youre saying you wish she wasnt here.” a scoff youve been holding in left your mouth. “ dont put words in my mouth. but at this point, if this keeps up, i wont mind admitting to that. considering how IM ALLERGIC TO STRAWBERRIES and her FAVOURITE cake is STRAWBERRY shortcake. and lets not forget how you got me an expresso knowing damn well i only drink mocha and SHE only drinks expresso. “

“you dont seem to mind it at all. “ you were dumbfounded. how could he say such things ? “ i didnt want to say anything because i wanted to see how far things would go… but its gone far enough. “ tears threaten to spill from your eyers. “you dont love me anymore do you ?“ you mustve looked pathetic in their eyes. “i know that i-i just need to hear it from you in order to move on. “ he looked you dead in the eye. “ i dont love you anymore. i love yena.” you didnt expect the second part at all. it hit you so hard you couldnt hold it together anymore. “y/n im so sorr-“ yena said as she attempted to hold onto your arm. funny how the hands that once brought you comfort was now seen as disgusting by you. “dont touch me !” yena looked away guiltily. “lets break up y/n. im sorry things turned out this way. “ seungmin said as he handed you a tissue. at least he wasnt THAT heartless. “i always knew you loved her. even more than you loved me. have a good life. the both of you.” and with that, you walked out forever, never looking back.

Hi! It’s me, Maja (if you’ve never seen me, hi, nice to meet you!).

You ran down the street, holding a bunch of papers against your chest. You were huffing out warm breath, into the cold night air as you tried to be in time for the bus.

When you arrived at the bus stop, the bus already left which was terrible. How were you going to get home?

Sitting down you sighed, tightening your grip on the papers tears streaming down your face.

Gong Yoo: Really? How many times must I tell you, to not go out by yourself at night. Yoo said, as he sat next to you.

Y/n: I don't need a lecture, Yoo. You said, as you looked down at the ground.

Gong Yoo: Sorry. I can't help but worry about you. He replied, as he placed his hand on your shoulder.

Y/n: I'm sorry...i didn't mean to make you worry.

Gong Yoo: It's okay. Come on. Let's get you home. He said, as he stood to his feet and offered you his hand.

Smiling you took his hand as you both walked to his car, Yoo opened the door for you and helped you in. The car ride was quite for a short while, till Yoo put on your favorite song.

Gogn Yoo smiled, at your face as you started singing along to the words. You loved this song that featured in his k-drama Goblin. Goblin, was one of your favorite k-drama that Yoo featured in.

Yes you watched all his k-dramas and movies, but Goblin, that was something different. A beautiful love story, that was sad but devide all odds.

Y/n: You remembered?

Gong Yoo: Of course. How could I forget, your favorite song? He asked, as he stopped at your apartment building.

Y/n: Because your my best friend. And best friends, always remember every little thing about each other. You said, pretending to think.

Gong Yoo: Agreed. You should get some sleep, I'll see you in the morning?

Y/n: Yes. You replied, fast as you kissed him on the cheek while jumping out of the car.

Gong Yoo was shocked, you kissed him. He got out following you to the door, making sure you got in safe.

Gong Yoo: Question...why did you kiss me?

Y/n: That's what friends do. They give each other kisses here and there. You said, with a huge smile as you placed the paperwork on the table.

Gong Yoo: Oh...so just a kiss and it's fine?

Y/n: Yes.

Gong Yoo didn't say anything, as he grabbed you and kissed you.

You looked at Yoo, you were shocked at what he did. He kissed you. Yes, you kissed him first but that was only on the cheek. Yoo, kissed you on the lips and it was different than anything you felt before.

You were an actress just like Yoo, and you were used to other actors kissing you and it being surprised kisses too. But this, this kiss took you by surprise in a whole different way.

Swallowing you looked at Yoo, breathing in slowly as you backed up from him.

Y/n: Y...Yoo, what was that? You asked, your hands holding onto his shoulders to keep him at a distance.

Gong Yoo: I only kissed you. I thought friends do that. He said, with a smirk.

Y/n: No...Yoo friends don't kiss like that. W...why would you do that?

Gong Yoo: Y/n, did it really bother you that much? He asked, as he followed you into the kitchen.

Your phone started ringing showing it was your boyfriend, Lee Seung-gi. You looked at the profile picture, that was saved on your phone every time he called.

Y/n: Hi Seung-gi. You, said as you answered the phone.

Seung-gi: Hey Jagiya, sorry I won't be able to make it tonight. We have to film longer than expected, can you forgive me?

- Samuel isn't the type that necessarily loves kids, however that doesn't mean he necessarily hates them. He wouldn't know how to react if his partner says they are pregnant or want to adopt. - or anything of the sort! - He would react in a polite and pleasant manner, but the heaviness wouldn't shrink in until a few weeks or month.

- Not going to lie, he would prefer a son over a girl. It's not that he is sexist, it's that he is afraid that he would kill whoever hurts his little princess, which would scare and distance her.

- However, he doesn't mind what the end result is, he would just want to be a good parent because he never had an actual good one. You would expect him to have the mentality of 'I suffered, so why shouldn't they?' But he truly doesn't.

- He would absolutely be lost with babies, but would be very willing to learn about how to take care of them. He would surprisingly smile at them a lot, and even speak in a babying voice. Big scary gangster has a heart.

- The crying would sometimes drive him crazy, but he would absolutely never take it out on the baby, just try to learn which cry means what exactly. If it goes on for long, he might as well cry too.

- He would absolutely never trust anyone expect his s/o with holding his baby. That's his baby, whoever hurts it will die. He has set his mind on that long ago, truly. He had a terrible childhood, he won't let that happen to his own kid.

- People are absolutely not allowed to be loud around his baby, or even smoke around them. He would go out of this place to protect them, but maybe be a little tense during it.

- Honestly, when he would be around his family, he would be very very vulnerable. It would be his special safety net, and his weak spot. He wouldn't try to show that though, so people don't hurt his family, he can't let that happen.

- He still wouldn't become a full on softy though, but when he is around his baby? Lord! He has a whole personality change. Samuel who? There is only SuYoung's dad here!

- Ah, did I mention? He would want the baby to have a name that starts with an S. It will either have Seung in it, but even if not that, it will definitely have 'Eun' in it. If that's not an option? Y'all are going to look at baby-name sites at 2 am. The! baby! needs! a! name! that! starts! with! an! S! Seriously, if the child is adopted and has a name already, it will just become their middle name. Samuel will not chill out.

- However, whatever happens, the child will either be his Princess/Prince/Snowflake. He will probably buy a lot of things that will make not only having a baby easier, but having a baby life easier. As in; Both the child and the parents will have it easier.

- Samuel would absolutely love to dress up his baby in ridiculous clothes, like a baby overall with a hoodie, that just makes them look like a big carrot. He would just take pictures of them, but dress them back up in normal baby clothes, to not make the baby uncomfortable.

- What he would love as well is to take pictures with the baby, and record important moments. Like first words, learning, saying first word ect. That baby would probably become the most important person in his life.

- Absolutely not going to lie, Samuel is the kind of person who would love his child(ren) way more than he loves his s/o. Sure, it's great to have a loving s/o, but his son/daughter/child? They are top priority, he is responsible for their birth, and he will make them have the best living experience possible. He isn't going to put them through what he went through.

- I think he would also feel very loved. Especially if the baby falls asleep on his chest or tummy, he would definitely feel like he is a good dad. He would just be proud 'hey! i created that! It's beautiful and lovely!'

- Sammy is also the type of person that would peck his baby since he loves them so much. Please don't think of anything sick though, it's pretty normal and a lot of parents do it. However, if the baby hits him or pushes him away due to uncomfortable, he would of course stop and stay with hugs. It's just that his monkey brain would go 'woah!!!!!!! princess/prince/snowflake!!!!!!!!!!!'

- Talking about hits, babies hit people since they are developing and don't know that it's not fine. Whenever he would get hit by the baby, he would stay totally calm. He would kiss their little hand and kindly say that hitting papa/dad isn't nice. He would find it quite adorable, actually. He would probably have a hard time to not laugh if the baby bites his nose even.

- He would absolutely be the best dad. He would feed the baby, bath the baby, change diapers, cut their nails so they don't scratch themselves! Literally best dad.

- Maybe, if in the future he will be on good terms with Eli, he would even ask for advice. He is a good dad, and that includes admitting that he doesn't know everything, and he needs help.

- Samuel would honestly be the kind of dad other kids are jealous for. They would want a dad like him, you know? But at the same time, they would all respect and fear him because if they hurt his little baby? It won't have a happy end for anyone. Samuel wouldn't need to raise his voice or hand for that to happen.

- Samuel would always prepare bento for his kiddo, and definitely even make them breakfast. No matter how picky they are, he would try to make the food they ask for. However, he would never let them eat in bed, unless they are sick.

- Talking about that, sometimes he would pick up his kid from school earlier than he is supposed to, either because he feels like his kid doesn't want to be there, or just because he wants to make family memories. He would also lie to the teachers.

- Also! 'Hello' and 'Goodbye!' hugs and cheek kisses are a must. Samuel is not an affectionate person, but both him and his kiddo would agree that they should always do that. Also, 'goodnight' and 'good morning' forehead kisses are a must too. He does it because he loves his kid, but also because you can never know when will you see someone for the last time. He would never say that out loud tho.

- He would do it even if he is mad, but when he is mad he would be scary. Not because he would get violent with his kid, but extremely silent. The kind of silence that screams disappointment. Funny thing is though, he would be like that exactly to not turn violent. He doesn't trust himself, so he has to control himself. It wouldn't happen often tho.

- He would be a little strict, but nothing too much. Just general healthy strictness. Like no chocolate after 6pm, limited tv time, children lock on the tv, computer ect. He is protective, but not overwhelming.

- If his kid would as a lot of questions he would be fine with that. He would just look at it as an opportunity to teach them, so he would answer all in an appropriate way. Also, hey, at least he can teach his kid that cheating is disgusting.

- Talking about that, he would be terrified of becoming like his dad. So even if he wouldn't love his s/o after a few years, he would still keep in the relationship and hide his feelings so his baby can grow up in a happy environment. He would never cheat though, so that's that.

- He would still be a good dad though! He would be happy if his child has independence and his own interests. He would let them pick their clothes, but also choose aesthetic matching outfits for them.

- Also, Samuel wouldn't really care what their sexuality, gender, religion, style and thought manners are, as long as they have morals and don't have disrespect in their heart. He values respect a lot.

- Also, he would teach them to be polite because that brings them far in their life. However he would also teach them to never do what they don't want to. Seriously, he would at some point teach his kid to remember the quote that says "The hill that you carry was only supposed to be climbed"

- He would also like, be chill if they fight. Teacher calls in that his kid fought? Cool, he would calmly tell the teacher to watch out properly next time. At home he would ask how they stand and hold their fist while fighting. To teach them how to do it properly.

- He would probably also prefer to have them in a fighting class of some sort. He would list multiple material art styles, explain the rules and ask his kid if they would be fine to go to at least one. It's not that he wants his kid to be violent, but he wants them to be able to protect themselves.

- HEALTH IS TOP PRIORITY!! Sammy is the type of dad you can tell anything to because he won't judge. That includes health and mental health, he would be careful and set up a comfortable mood. He wouldn't be ablist at all and just take care of his kid the way he is supposed to.

- Also, when the kiddo needs to get a shot or their blood taken, he would be next to them, holding their hand. Softly talking to them so they can get through it. He would also praise them, probably buy stickers and ice cream.

- He also absolutely wouldn't mind spending money on his kid. Their room would look like a dream land full of plushies.

- The support in this house would be above the roof. His kid likes painting? There is a whole art room. His kid likes biking? There is a whole biking day each weak.

- He would also help the kiddo study, although he wouldn't always be the best. Samuel didn't get rich by studying after all.

- He would also teach them stranger danger, and have a secret word with them that means 'something is wrong, please come here and help me'.

- He would probably stop babying his child when they become 14, but that doesn't mean he wouldn't be affectionate! He just wouldn't want to embarrass them.

- Not going to lie, he would hit his kid if they do something big enough to deserve it. For example, if his kid would willingly do drugs - forced is something different - he would definitely hit them. Or if they hide smoking, or smoke in general. It wouldn't be abusive, or a daily thing. He would only use if necessary. He saw how those effect people, and he experienced how bad smoking is, he would have strict rules and he wouldn't let his child go through it. They will either choose the easy way, or the hard way.

- Do not misunderstand though, he won't get mad at every single little mistake. He would be a smart parent, just a little stuck up to his own views. He would tell them that he would rather get a call from them saying they snuck out and need to be picked up than a call from the police that his child is dead or went missing.

- Also, he wouldn't tell them what they should wear or not, but he would always make sure to put something in their bag that they can cover themself up with incase they are around someone that makes them uncomfortable incase their outfit shows skin. The gender wouldn't matter, as he is not sexist.

- He would be supportive with whatever their dream is, but would make sure to tell them that dreams can change and that they should make a back up plan incase it does. He is just realistic.

- Talking about that, he would make sure that his kid has a safe to work at next to him incase they want that. He wouldn't force them, but he would like to be a good role model.

- Funny enough, he would know how dumb teenagers can get. His worst fear would be his kid becoming as dumb as him when he was a teenager. Literally, he knows he made bad decisions and let his worth be measured by others, and he wouldn't want his kid to be like that either.

- He would also be fun though, he is the type of parent you can have inside jokes with. He would sometimes not laugh, as he is used to kids saying dumb stuff, but if it's a good joke he definitely will just have a great time with you.

- He is a proud parent too! Literally, even if his kid is a dumbass or a himbo, he would love them and their achievements whatever those may be.

- Absolutely wouldn't know slang, but would still attempt to joke around and do it. It would be fun because he would use words incorrectly.

- A must is definitely teaching his kid about life. In how to view humans, how to treat them and that he should understand that everyone is different.

- Samuel is the type of dad that knows his kids every interest, but not because he is pushy but because they feel comfortable talking with him. It would make other parents jealous for sure. He doesn't understand though, he thinks it's normal.

- When it comes to dating, he wouldn't be a helicopter parent. However, he would teach his kid to not just trust anyone and choose wisely, also, to always have protection. Let that be pepper spray or condom, it works in different situations. Poor person who dates his kid tho. They would constantly get looks that say 'I am watching you, better be careful.' He wouldn't be watching.

- Well, there would be CCTVs around the house though, so if they come home drunk, or past their bed time he will know. And wait. It's not that he would scold, it's that he would have a serious conversation.

- He would still do fun things with them too though! Like having bike fridays, vacation weekends, movie marathons ect. He would be a mix up a lowkey fucked up parent and a mix of the fun and loving parent that's always there.

Lately I've been into older dramas. When I say old, I really just mean a few years old. To me, all dramas before like 2017 look super old and they have a very different vibe to me. I rewatched Marriage, Not Dating (2014) and I loved it even more the second time. Now I'm watching My Princess (2011). Do you have any favorites that are a bit older? Stuff like those shows I mentioned, 2 Outs in the 9th Inning, My Lovely Sam Soon, You Who Came From the Stars, Me Too Flower, etc. Heartstrings and You're Beautiful would also fit I think.

I'm just in a mood for that older style from before the more modern dramas.

I kinda know what you mean about “older” dramas from like 2011-2016? They’re a bit more fairytale like, a bit more trope-y in an over the top kind of way. They have the mean parents, the chaebols, the over the top characters... 

Older K-Dramas 2007-2014 that I personally like ;-)

Coffee Prince: This is probably my very favorite older k-drama but also? It’s in my top 10 now because it’s just that good. Gender-bending, gay angst but also? It has a really unique vibe that’s totally it’s own and the chemistry!!!

The Master’s Sun: We have ourselves another chaebol here but he is so much fun to watch. A girl who is tormented by ghosts realizes he is her good luck charm and starts following him around much to his dismay. So Ji Sub and Gong Hyo Jin are amazing together!! She is just the best character.

It’s Okay That’s Love: A romance about a psychiatrist with a handsome lady’s man author. It deals with mental health and does a pretty descent job for a k-drama of 2014. It’s one of my favorite dramas for sure - I highly recommend everyone watch this one.

Queen In Hyun’s Man: I LOVE this adorable fantasy drama about an actress who falls in love with a man from historical times. It’s seriously cute and the chemistry is excellent. Maybe it’s time for a rewatch actually. 

Ho Goo’s Love: Y’all know I love this slice of life drama about a guy who’s in love with a girl who has an unwanted pregnancy. For how old it is it tackles some really difficult topics and almost does a good job with them. It’s funny, heartfelt and just a really great underrated drama.

King2Hearts: This drama is CRAZY. I actually think everyone should watch it so that we can all talk about it ;-) A prince falls in love with a north korean soldier. It’s very makjang in a lot of ways and the villain is the most bonkers villain in a kdrama I’ve EVER seen. This is the drama that made me really love Lee Seung Gi.

Secret Love Affair: This is an intense noona romance with tons of chemistry. It’s beautiful and unique but very stressful. The chemistry is OFF THE CHARTS.

Witch’s Romance: A super cute rom com noona romance about a successful editor (I think - it’s been a while) and a 25 year old jack of all trades (Park Seo Joon!) Their kiss!! Just watch it :D

Healer: You all know how much I love Healer. I mean LOVE. Soft and sweet super hero teams up with sassy reporter to figure out the mysteries of their past. THIS IS ROMANCE you guys. THIS IS THE ONE.

Flower Boy Next Door: A fun loving guy falls for an agoraphobic woman and tries to get her to explore the outside world. He’s SO CUTE and funny (Yoon Shi Yoon) and it was a pretty adorable show. There is a love triangle and some classic mean girl stuff but again, we are dealing with older dramas. 

Heart To Heart: A therapist helps a girl with a blushing illness but then falls for her. This rom com has definite ethical issues but the couple was so cute together it helps me get through those parts. 

Hello Monster: Amazing psychological thriller that asks “what makes a person a monster?” It’s got an amazing cast and it’s super well written.

Boys Over Flowers: Listen - I KNOW this show is trash. But it’s it’s very own special kind of trash. The kind that takes an innocent watcher of regular TV and converts them into loving K-dramas. True story. It’s SUPER trope-y, has very questionable relationships and plot situations but like, to me it FEELS like that perfectly ridiculous type of k-drama that everyone should watch once. Just lower your bar and turn your brain off #F4

City Hunter: While I’m not super into the cold male lead thing, that’s a super popular “type” in older dramas. City Hunter is one of those super fun action-y classics in the vein of “Healer” but older. 

You Who Came From The Stars: You mentioned this one so I’ll just say that I LOVE Jun Ji Hyun and this is your classic cold male lead with sassy female trope. It does have a frustrating love triangle but like 90 percent of dramas before 2017 have them so...
