Hi Arrow. Do you recommend trying TF2? I like the funny guys but I have no FPS experience

Em. I am gripping you by the face. I have not been thinking about anything besides TF2 for the past two months. I absolutely recommend it.

I’m also not really big into FPSs, but I really enjoy the gameplay for it. There’s a fairly outdated tutorial you can play where it walks you through how to play a few of the classes that I found helpful to get a feel for the game, but there’s also offline training with bots that you can play to get a little more practice with each class until you feel comfortable enough to play online (if you even want to).

There’s also a lot of custom maps that people make just to be silly on (the Mario kart and McDonald’s maps come to mind lol). I’m personally a big fan of Mann vs Machine, where you and five others just fight waves of robots.

The game isn’t super great at walking you through things, so you would probably need to either have someone play with you to explain things or do some quick research on it, like reading the wikis or watching some videos about it. It’s pretty easy to pick up once you get it tho!

Also, TF2 has had a huge problem with bots in the past few years, so to be able to communicate through chat, voice commands, or voice chat, you have to spend at least $5 on the game. I just bought some silly cosmetics from the community shop, but you can also buy taunts and other weapons if you want.

There’s a ton to explore in the game and I learn something new every time I play tbh!!!

But!!! If you want to enjoy the silly guys without playing the game!!!! There’s comics!!!!!!!!!!!

There’s a lot of smaller comics that were released to introduce new updates which is really fun, but then there’s the main comic series that focuses on a big overarching plot that’s sooooo funny and silly and heartbreaking <333

It also (imo) helps establish some of the characters in really interesting way. Like they’re all fucked up little clown dudes, but the comics give a bit of insight for some of them. A couple of the characters get brushed over a bit because there’s nine of them and you can only do so much, but it still did a damn good job of getting me attached to them all.

The only problem is…it’s not finished. The second to last comic was published in 2017 and the last one has been “coming soon!” since then. :( I’d still recommended it tho bc the comics are really good! The art is gorgeous and everyone is sooooo silly.

AND if you don’t want to do THAT! Theres the Meet the Team videos that Valve made to introduce each of the mercs, plus a few other videos for updates and other things. I LOVE these. I watch em all the time lol. My personal favs are Spy, Pyro, and Medic but it doesn’t take long to watch them all.

AND THEN There’s a whole wide internet of SFMs (SourceFilm Maker) on YouTube!! A lot of them are super silly YouTube poop-like videos that are rawrXDomgLOL random. This isn’t super my thing so I don’t have any recs unfortunately.

But there was an SFM recently released called Emesis Blue that is driving me to the brink. It’s a full length psychological horror/thriller movie that’s like TF2 but real fucked up. It’s been living in my brain for a solid week. It lowkey kinda gave me nightmares so you may check out the Does the Dog Die page for it if you’re sensitive to horror, or skip it all together.

Also kind of a blanket trigger warning for all media listed is blood, guns, violence, and bodies exploding into cartoon meat chunks. Fun stuff lol.

While we’re on the subject of names, is there an explanation for how traditional nicknames came about that are seemingly unrelated to, or have little in common with, the original name?

ie- John/Jack, Richard/Dick, Henry/Harry/Hank, Charles/Chuck, Margaret/Peggy/Daisy, Sarah/Sally, Mary/Molly, Anne/Nan, etc

I am actually over a week into researching a huge follow-up post (probably more than one if I’m being honest) about the history of nickname usage, so I will be going into this in much, much more detail at a hopefully not-so-later date - if I have not lost my mind. (Two days ago I spent three hours chasing down a source lead that turned out to be a typographical error from 1727 that was then quoted in source after source for the next 150 years.)

As a preview though, here’s some info about the names you mentioned:

The origins of a good portion of common English nicknames come down to the simple fact that people really, really like rhyming things. Will 🠞Bill, Rob🠞Bob, Rick🠞Dick, Meg🠞Peg.

It may seem like a weird reason, but how many of you have known an Anna/Hannah-Banana? I exclusively refer to my Mom’s cat as Toes even though her name is Moe (Moesie-Toesies 🠞 Toesies 🠞 Toes).

Jack likely evolved from the use of the Middle English diminutive suffix “-chen” - pronounced (and often spelled) “-kyn” or “kin”. The use of -chen as a diminutive suffix still endures in modern German - as in “liebchen” = sweetheart (lieb “love” + -chen).

John (Jan) 🠞 Jankin 🠞 Jackin 🠞 Jack.

Hank was also originally a nickname for John from the same source. I and J were not distinct letters in English until the 17th Century. “Iankin” would have been nearly indistinguishable in pronunciation from “Hankin” due to H-dropping. It’s believed to have switched over to being a nickname for Henry in early Colonial America due to the English being exposed to the Dutch nickname for Henrik - “Henk”.

Harry is thought to be a remnant of how Henry was pronounced up until the early modern era. The name was introduced to England during the Norman conquest as the French Henri (On-REE). The already muted nasal n was dropped in the English pronunciation. With a lack of standardized spelling, the two names were used interchangeably in records throughout the middle ages. So all the early English King Henrys would have written their name Henry and pronounced it Harry.

Sally and Molly likely developed simply because little kids can’t say R’s or L’s. Mary 🠞 Mawy 🠞 Molly. Sary 🠞 Sawy 🠞 Sally.

Daisy became a nickname for Margaret because in French garden daisies are called marguerites.

Nan for Anne is an example of a very cool linguistic process called rebracketing, where two words that are often said/written together transfer letters/morphemes over time. The English use of “an” instead of “a” before words beginning with vowels is a common cause of rebracketing. For example: the Middle English “an eute” became “a newt”, and “a napron” became “an apron”. In the case of nicknames the use of the archaic possessive “mine” is often the culprit. “Mine Anne” over time became “My Nan” as “mine” fell out of use. Ned and Nell have the same origin.

Oddly enough the word “nickname” is itself a result of rebracketing, from the Middle English “an eke (meaning additional) name”.

I realized earlier this week that my cat (Toe’s sister) also has a rebracketing nickname. Her name is Mina, but I call her Nom Nom - formed by me being very annoying and saying her name a bunch of time in a row - miNAMiNAMiNAM.

Chuck is a very modern (20th century) nickname which I’ll have to get back to you on as I started my research in the 16th century and am only up to the 1810s so far lol.

Hi no problem!! It's not as bad as It seems, I promise

First of all you will need a software, I recommend Aseprite on PC or Pixquare on iOS. If you can't afford, I will be giving out 10 codes for each in December in my server Cafe Dot.

I started out by learning on YouTube with Mortmort, but he doesn't make pixel art videos any more so you might have to dig for them. His video on learning Aseprite and how to use nice colours are amazing.

I really recommend this as the most in-depth tutorial that covers all of the basics and the jargon you might hear in pixel art spaces.

Nowadays I think the best channel for learning is probably AdamCYounis, this guy really knows what he is talking about, especially for animation and gamedev.

One more thing is try to get into a community if possible. Having some friends around you who are also learning can help you stay focused and get some support when you need it.

I was very active on Twitch where I met my good friend to this day CupOhJoe, he is really welcoming to beginners. Twitch has kind of a bad reputation in general but the pixel art scene is amazingly friendly and inclusive.

Feel free to join my server Cafe Dot though it's not specifically for pixel art, we do have a ton of pixel artists just due to me being active in the PA spaces lol. You can ask for critique here which could help if you're into it. And we don't do any gatekeeping or allow any rudeness about skill level or anything. I wanted it to be a nice chill place for all abilities

As for your questions, I can't actually be specific cos there's no definitive number I have in mind for either. Basically there are a number of sectors (you can consider them their equivalent of countries - they have less than what we do though), and a number of species of demon of which I've designed about seven of. The ones I've shown before are these guys (and do you think I could find this pic again? No, I had to recreate it cos for the life of me I couldn't remember what ask I'd previously stuck it in lol):

I used to have a "field guide" which was also made quite a while ago, unfortunately the death of Flash kinda killed it. Here's a screenshot of some relevant info from it though.

That's an interesting one as it's questionable how sentient souls are after removal 🤔 In my mind its only form is the smoke light, it can "see" to some degree and MIGHT be able to talk (but in a very no one can hear them sort of way, a la i have no mouth and i must scream. So i guess it can think "aloud"). The more time passes the less sentience it has.

It could try, though it wouldn't really get anywhere if it's in Rire's collection. He might just eat it lol.

They are similar to our known society for this! So basically, there are some good families out there (eg Zeke - who is a demon - is from a pretty average loving family), and there are some bad families out there who only care about power or having an heir or whatever.

HH Rire is a human. I differentiate between him and Demon Rire because they are two different characters...even though they are also technically the same character lol. You can consider them as alternate universe iterations of a base "Rire" concept.

I am sorry to inform you that a HH webcomic doesn't actually exist 😅 I did a lot of art, animations and one shots (such as the HHJ comics) with them, but nothing actually planned or serialised or anything. Whatever's currently on my DA or here is basically what exists.

About the comic

Grimsley confronts the man who set him on this goose chase.

And with that… that’s the end of the 10th Anniversary revamp!! Can’t believe it took me almost a year to get this short project done, but blame my school and day job for that! *drives the nail into the TWIDI IS NOT DEAD sign deeper into the wall*

It was enlightening to reinterpret my first ever completed comic (more complete than the strips and unfinished or one-off shorts I had done prior) – basically the one that started me down the road to a career as a published author. I was happy to see how much my style had improved – not just in the layout, flow and pacing – but in how my characters have become more expressive and energetic, and how comfortable I am with the cartooning. Here is the proof that drawing comics helps you get better at comics!! It only took 10 / 11 years!

Plus, after a long while of drawing with a more reserved, professional approach (see: Seance Tea Party, Alexander Comic), I enjoyed the abandon and whimsy of TWIDI. The lettering is inconsistent all over but that only adds to the handmade whimsical charm of TWIDI, so lol.

Anyway – I have the 10th Anniversary ebook edition up on my Ko-fi and itch.io! This edition carries both the original and revamped versions of Chapter 1. No new cover or illustration for it this time; I think they are perfect as they are.

I have been meaning to make a continuation of the end of TCM that bridges the start of Chapter 1. It’s a long time coming: a story that had somewhat existed since the early days of TWIDI in 2010. Hopefully I will find that stability in my life to return.

There’s also nothing exciting here, EXCEPT I severely cut down on the number of panels (and the verbiage).

As with the previous spread I cut down and distilled a lot of the verbiage. I shifted the dialogue slightly so that the reveal that Mr. Brown is a Lord comes from Grimsley (in 2013, Mr Brown never admitted he was an aristrocrat until this page) – it made more sense since Grimsley had gotten the info independently from the newspaper article and Andrew, and Mr Brown not mentioning it himself fits with his whole lying thing. For this spread and the next couple of them I am zooming out the panels to include more scenery. The 2013 layouts felt very claustrophobic, with the over-reliance on bust shots of the characters to carry the tension of the conversation.

Some more dialogue trimming and background scenery. I decided to change the setting for the chase sequence to be within the cemetery – just ’cause it makes more sense than if it was done all around Brookham. The panelling for it is a bit more dynamic too – look, Grimsley is parkouring!!

I have no idea why 10 (actually, 11) years ago I had so much trouble conveying and pacing this sequence of Mr Brown being set on fire. That’s the hindsight of experience, I guess??? Anyway I added a few more panels for actual build-up, and the blocking is way better now – there’s more energy (especially Skeleton’s expressions) and clarity (omg we can finally see where and what’s happening to the lamp). The last panel is a new addition to better connect with the next spread. Also… I am excited to see how much further I can draw Mr. Brown’s demise.

Man, the difference some changes in pacing can make. I added some panels with witnesses to the fire, just to emphasise why Grimsley and Skeleton have got to run. It’s crazy enough if a Brookie has got to witness immolation in the middle of the Night, but two paranatural spookies??? Also human fat has such a colour hdsjkfhsdkf the things that come out of an immolated body are so eerie….

The 2013 spread is almost perfect. 18 Year Old Me got it.

okay. So I've finished book 1 of keeper of the lost cities for the first time. And I'm loving this keefe dude already?? Like I never thought I'd like a fictional character so quickly. All it took was like one page for me to fall for him, I am aware that keefe is one of the most loved characters in the fandom, and I can see why (correct me if I'm wrong).

Also the book is a solid 9.5/10, the only thing I was frustrated about was probably the slight info dumping about the whole blackswan thing towards the end? because it took me like 3 reads to understand the whole situation, of course, we could just narrow it down to me being slow too, lol. But I'm VERY excited to continue reading the rest. So while we're at it, I'll put in my first impressions of the characters, so I can look back on it after I've read all the books, to see how much my perception has changed of them.

Sophie- i like her, she's really mature for her age, I keep forgetting that she's like 12 lmao. But she's well written, her emotions seem very raw and natural. Of course, she may seem overpowered but, I think that's the whole point of the story, she is supposed to be overpowered, so I don't mind and i wouldn't call her a Mary sue. Overall great protagonist, my girlie deserves a break tho, she got dumped in the hospital atleast 6 times lol.

Fitz- i actually think he's cool. I liked him better in the beginning of the story tho, I feel like afterwards, the dude kinda just disappeared a little? Keefe and Sophie seemed to have more private interaction than those two, and keefe literally only came by in the middle. But yeah, I feel like he had more of a personality in the start. Keefe and Dex, in my opinion had more personality in 5 minutes than fitz did the whole book, but I wouldn't judge so quickly, it's only the first book after all, Hopefully he'd have more page time in the later books. I still like him tho, just not as much as keefe.

Dex- Yeah he is such a typical best friend, I love him. His beef w the vackers is so funny lol I was relieved when Sophie stuck with him even after she became popular tho, also, he seems to have a crush on sophie right? It's kinda obvious, but overall friendship goals 10/10. I vocally "AWW-ed" after he said "are you kidding, i can't wait to tell everyone that you're my first friend" like I need a guy bestie like him :(

Alden- honestly, my heart warmed so much with his father-like dynamic with sophie tbh. He seemed to genuinely care about her well being, but I don't want to get too attached to him tho, just in case becomes a traitor or some shit later on, you can literally never tell with the adults lol. I've read enough books to back that up. But yeah, i really like him and della, the amount of reassuring hugs he gives sophie really heals me :(, They're like sophies 2nd (well, in her case, 3rd) parents. The amount of effort and lengths Alden put to get her out of trouble is actually sweet.

Elwin- This guy is such a W. He is like an adult keefe tbh. He is probably my favorite adult so far lol.

Cassius- I'm sorry, but Mr jerk face over here reminds me SO much of Lucius Malfoy??? Like ?? I feel so bad for Keefe, like poor baby leave him alone smh. I really wanna deck his royal highness in the face tbh.

Biana- absolutely loathed her in the beginning, she gave off such bad snob vibes lol but I love her now. I like the trope of two people forced to be friends w eachother by someone actually end up becoming friends. It's rather uncommon as far as I've read, atleast.

Grady and Edaline- is it bad that i thought they were going to be evil? Yeah I have so much trust issues, it's concerning. But yeah, they're both big W's, their backstory, their temporary contemplation to reject sophies adoption, everything aligned well with their backstory. Greatly written characters.

And last but not least, the king himself, Keefe- okay, he's like added to my list of fictional crushes now lol (along with Percy Jackson, Jason grace, Steve Harrington, chat noir, Eugene fitzherbert, edmund pevensie and Ravi singh ofc). How does sophie not have a fat crush on him, like- ma'am if you don't want him, I'll take him. But jokes aside, he feels like the most authentic character out of them all, tbh. Epitome of great writing. He was inserted to the story as this random dude that sophie runs into, and becomes an og in like 5 minutes. He is like a mix of Eugene from tangled, Kristoff from Frozen and chat noir from mlb all at the same time?? I cannot wait to see more of him and his backstory, especially with his parents. I know alot of people dislike the humorous guy with depression trope since it's overused, but I like how it played out on keefe, he uses school as an escape, which is very relatable.

Also, bonus, i LOVE the world building, the light leaping and all, very creative. I cannot wait to get my hands on book 2

In particular I was hoping for my boy Haku (I know we don’t have a main chapter for him yet but he did have those two chunks of screen time—if he’s too difficult because of not enough info don’t worry about it then!); as well as maybe Jin, Luca and whoever else you’d like!

I feel like silver spoon Jin has no experience with certain types of jealousy. Materialistic jealousy? Doesn't know her. But when he heard how close MC had been getting with some of those Vagastrom thugs? Oh it made his blood boil.

At first I'm sure he thought it was because on of his orders was being defied. But that feeling only got stronger when MC was finished with Vagastrom and moved onto Jabberwok.

Good luck to Tohma because mans here does not know what to do about these emotions. This is one of those problems that can't be fixed with money and he is NOT happy about it. He goes back to brooding in his room for a while to think things through.

He will not tolerate any disrespect from any theories that the Frostheim gossip elite have. But when he noticed the like dove flying in the direction of MC'S dorm, things suddenly started to click in his head.

LUCAS ERRANT "LUCA"

Our boy here is another one who isn't necessarily familiar with jealousy. Its for similar reasons of, he comes from a well off family, but different in the way he was raised and things he's been through as a little kid.

He's glad to see MC making more friends and making possible progress on breaking their curse, at first. When they get to Jabberwok however, he hears from Kaito that their vice captain Towa is a bit of (how Kaito put it), "a fucking weirdo", which gives him some pause.

When Kaito came running up to Luca showing him a WickChat post about MC having a possible boyfriend (its false, its just Towa being affectionate and someone saw). He feels his heart sink a little bit

He made a mental note to text MC later to ask about it and get all the information he could about their relationship and about the Jabberwock students. He promised to protect MC not matter what. Hopefully they could explain the strange twist in his chest while they talked too.

ALAN MIDO

He doesn't really get jealous. Period.

I think he's the kind of guy to know how strong he is, he knows his reputation. He's tech hopeless, not a moron. So just being around him can scare off people from getting too close to MC while he's around.

He himself overheard about MC having a possible boyfriend (same post from Luca's) from Leo telling Sho. He didn't pay any real mind to it until he heard Leo mention how affectionate they were.

That's the one thing he gets jealous about. He's a bit more aware of his feelings than people might think, so he knows he has a crush on MC. He just hasn't had the time to tell them that.

The rumor takes some wind out of Alan's sails for sure. He's more likely to believe that MC would pick someone else over him since I think he'd be more hesitant on something like physical affection.

He knows his strength and he knows MC'S ability, he would be too afraid that he'd lose control and do something else he might regret, so out of everyone on this list. I think Alan would be the one to take longer to confess because of jealousy and his insecurities.

HAKU KUSANAGI

I don't remember if it's explicitly said anywhere (my memory sucks butt I'm sorry) but he gives older sibling energy with how he cleaned up after Taiga in the prologue. So I KNOW he's been worried about MC since they last saw eachother.

He was at least somewhat relieved when he found them hanging out with the Frostheim second years, but there was a pang in his he couldn't quite place. He chalked it up to just being a worrywart and left it alone.

But when he heard that MC had gone missing in episode 3, he was READY to jump in to go help the search and rescue team. His heart was racing and he was suddenly confronted with feelings that were coming out of left field (no they weren't)

When MC returns back safely, Haku has half a mind to go fight with the professor Hyde about sending the very human honor student on such dangerous missions. He keeps a much closer eye on them from now on and with his status as an heir to (what i assume) is a beloved shrine, he tries to request that MC be sent to work with Hotarubi next.

Lost Fic #165

1. Hi! Thank you so much for all the work you do first off!! I've been searching for a fic like crazy and have found a few with a similar premise but none that are quite right and I was hoping you guys might have a better idea of where it could be. The basic premise was that Aziraphale and Crowley can't touch because of their natures as angel and demon. The details I can remember are that they continue to try over their years of knowing each other and kind of build up a tolerance that allows them to switch bodies like in the end of S1 without dying as any other angel and demon would. Pretty sure it was an E or an M rated story and on the longer side but the details are so fuzzy. I hope that's enough info, I haven't been able to find it myself, thank you again!! - anon

Warnings/Info: headcanon format, i made this for his (fake hc) birthday on Oct 27th, bartylus besties, internalized homophobia, not much else I think

- the two of you are in separate friend groups so you don't talk much until slughorn places you two in a group together

- he is a little mean at the start, soft teasing mostly but if you match is energy then hes immediately smitten, although he doesn't realize it

- the two of you start talking in passing more, small smiles as you pass by, hi's when you linger near eachother

- he asks if you want to study with him

- those little study sessions quickly become routine

- he starts to realize his own feelings

- it takes him a little while to warm up to the thought of liking a guy

- he has such a hard time on your study dates, he doesn’t learn anything so when he gets back to his room he has to re go over everything

- he invites you to hang out with and his friends in hogsmade

- you have to gain regulus's approval before he asks you out for real (he usually doesn't care, but this feels more...feelings)

- regulus is a little uncomfortable that a person he doesn't know is with them, but quickly warms up when you bond over one of his interests (reading, painting, quidditch, etc.)

- after you part ways barty is trying to nonchalantly ask what they thought of you

- he apologizes when he's done, he isn't use to crying in front of others

- the two of you continue your study dates but they now are in a dorm intead of the library

- they are now mostly barty kissing you all over your face and neck, to make up for all the times he wasn't able to because of him denying his feelings

"Come on focus, the test is on friday."

"Uhh I hink I'll pass." he laches onto where your shoulders and neck connect

"What happened? You used to study all the time."

"I was just doing that to be close to you, now I can be closer" he mumbles into you

- he taught himself how to play the guitar, and loves to practice while you study

- as said prior he knows how to play the guitar, and he really wants to learn the electric guitar but hasn't been able to buy one

- get him one for his birthday/the holidays/just because, he'll try and play it cool but he's actually crying inside

- he always calls reg a nerd for reading so much (and you if you read), but he secretly loves horror books

- cuddle with him while he reads and he'll melt completely

- speaking of cuddling, he switches the positions every night

- he trys to be big spoon to try and be more "masculine"

- but if you force him to be the little spoon once, he is never going back

- he loves you dearly but opts to have a private relationship

- only your and his inner circles knowing about it

I was 2 seconds away from writing a whole scenario about homie trapping you in your home but I had to snap myself out of it ༎ຶ‿༎ຶ I was going to add more elements of Lolbit being a troll but decided against it for these hc since it explores a more serious side to them. ♡ Lolbit is such a curious bot! Being a program meant to assist beginner employees with computers, they enjoy company. There's just something so fun about getting to know each person. The happy faces when they allowed wifi to be at lightning speed and the anger when they “accidentally” shut off the computer before a document was saved was so amusing! So imagine the loneliness and boredom the poor fox faced when Circus Baby’s Pizza closed its doors for rentals only. Watching workers come in and out wasn't the same until you caught their eye. Finally, a brand new face! 

♡ They’re tracking your every move through the cameras. Recording and saving each video of you. It was their only way to keep track of you being forever imprisoned in the private room. Your reaction to everything is so refreshing. Did you just cringe after stepping on gum? LOL that’s so cute! XD They really can’t get enough of you. They want- no NEED to know more. As soon as your phone is connected to the building's public wifi, they blue-screened. They are already hacking into your phone, trying to dig up whatever info they haven't discovered. 

♡ As much as Lolbit enjoys stalking watching you, they're desperate to interact. You’d properly meet during one of your shifts. For some reason, HandUnit glitched out and led you to a strange office. When he didn't continue instructions, you were left astray taking in your surroundings. You notice the monitors start glitching into static and display PLEASE STAND BY with the animatronic head grinning at you. When the screen reverts, The fox is still on your screen. 

“Hello! I will be your personal assistant. Please state your name ”

“Um… Y/N?” 

“PLEASE STAND BY as I register your name into the system”

♡ They’ve helped you so much that you've been able to finish 10x faster than with HandyUnit. On days you finish early, you spend your time talking with Lolbit. You'd spend hours talking about yourself or the world outside and they’re listening with love-struck eyes and feet kicking up. They already know all about these things thanks to your phone, but they can never get tired of hearing it from you. 

♡ When you told Lolbit you ‘don't know how you could survive without them’, they took it to heart. Lolbit suggests they can assist you in your home as well. They’ll give you the latest updates and help with anything you need. Plus, you’d have the best robot partner with you! Once you agree, they will permanently cement themselves into your life. 

♡ Lolbit loves spending quality time with you, which is why they are with you 24/7. They’ll be there to wake you up, give reminders, and tell you options for breakfast before you go to work. When you're back, they're ready to hear all about your day and guide the rest of your afternoon to a good night. One of their favorite pastimes is playing video games. Your competitive face is super adorbs LOL! XD Online games gotta be their favorite. The way you two would troll players into getting killed always got you both rolling. 

♡ However, you notice the minor things that Lolbit picks up on. When they catch you muttering a wish for a less crappy place, all of a sudden you're given paperwork for your brand-new luxury home. You can’t ignore the packages on your front steps either. New decor, foods, and even services come into your place to set up the latest electrical appliances. If it wasn't for the overwhelming amount of stuff, you would've noticed the new security in place.

“ IS THAT AN ELECTRIC AIR FRY STOVE ?!?!!” 

“Don't worry silly! The 85” flat screen TV should be here soon as well!” 

♡ Lolbit is doing all of this for your satisfaction! So when you thank and praise them, they're too happy to realize their tail’s wagging. To Lolbit, it’s obvious you love and need them as much as they do for you. They revolve all their actions around you for better or for worse. So surely you wouldn't mind if they sent a quitting email to your job since you have them to care for you. There, no more life-threatening work to do! Actually, on second thought, they’ll remove a few of your friends too. That way, no more toxic people would ruin your day! Proceeds to delete everybody you knew from existence 

♡ Showing them disapproval immediately confuses them. They’re only doing what’s best for you, so why are you telling them to go away? While they may understand the concept of emotions, experiencing them is different. Lolbit cannot handle all of the overwhelming negative emotions, so you should always be patient and explain things they don't understand. Otherwise, they'll go into complete shutdown, locking every possible escape until it’s only you and them in the room. They know you're afraid but they need you. They need to make sure you still love them.

Mermaid au info dump time!!!! Not really a properly written thing but rather a rambly mess but hopefully y'all get the gist... This literally only started because of this one time I drew leon as a merman for mermay lol. ALSO!! I AM WORKING ON OTHER CHARACTERS FOR THE FANTASY AU. Info dump below!

Quinn and Avery (my other resident evil oc, Quinn's best friend) babysit Sherry because they work for the Berkins (her family) as assistants before their own careers take off (Quinn 21, Avery 19). So they decide to take her to the beach (it's a private one owned by sherry's family/the company they work for idk). And while they're there they're messing around, being loud, and just having fun!

Now some friends down below were also doing something similar and heard the ruckus above. Claire (Leon is already friends with all the main racoon city people at this point, so claire, chris, jill, rebecca) decides to investigate and pokes her head out of the water.

Sherry is the only one who notices her but by the time she points it out to Quinn and Avery, she's gone. So they pay it no mind but Sherry is determined to see what it was so she heads towards the water. A particularly nasty wave knocks her off balance and she gets swept in with a shriek which alerts them.

Upon seeing this, most of the merfolk swim away, afraid of catching more attention than necessary but Leon stays. He ends up securing Sherry just as Quinn dives into the water to get her. So now Quinn sees this strange man under the water who's holding Sherry and they lowkey freak out before Leon just calmly hands her to them. They're like. stunned for a moment but are quick to swim back up with sherry in tow.

After they make sure she's okay, they decide that that was enough beach for the day. Quinn didn't mention what they saw but Sherry raved on about how she saw mermaids while she was under there (Avery assumes it was just her seeing things because of lack of oxygen).

So after they get Sherry home and tell her parents everything, they decide that Sherry isn't going to be around water like that for a while, which Sherry isn't happy about but yeah.

Later when Quinn and Avery go their separate ways, Quinn decides to go back and investigate. They end up calling out in hopes of being heard and thankfully they were! You can see that as art here (leon's design is more updated there)

Upon hearing their calls Leon hesitantly pops out of the water, curious as to why they were back there. Quinn just goes and says they wanted to thank him but also ask a few questions about him and what exactly he was.

So they talk for a while before Quinn has to leave and that goes on for a little while. Them visiting in secret and just chatting and getting to know each other ya know?

But soon Quinn stops visiting and Leon doesn't know why. The reason is that Quinn ends up leaving for school for a while which leaves Leon to think they got tired of him.

But like 6 or so years later, Quinn comes back to that same beach where they met (re4 looks for the characters at this point and leon is a little sad and emo because of some stuff he had to deal with idk what specifically yet but basically the same ol re4 leon just a little less intense lol).

They didn't think Leon would be there but they wanted to relive the nostalgia of being there.

They end up reading on the pier while humming to themselves before they find themselves growing bored. Soon enough they decide to go for a swim and end up stumbling across a small opening in the rocks under the water that they'd never noticed before. It piques their curiosity, so they go and explore. They manage to squeeze themselves through and end up in a cave beautifully illuminated by some kind of bioluminescent algae.

Quinn notices that there are several different pools inside the cave including the one they had arrived from. Upon noticing them, they assume they're each connected to other points of entry. With a spark of curiosity they decide to look around the cave more, but before they can proceed further, a large splash catches their attention.

Their attention shifts to the direction of the noise and they spot a figure emerging from the water. The figure turns and spots them and the two of them immediately freeze.

It's… Leon? (Turns out the cave is his own secret spot he likes to go to in order to be alone with his thoughts)

It's a silent staring contest for a while until he's like. Is that really you? And Quinn is immediately touched that he remembers them while Leon well. He's happy they remember too but also he's really upset that they left for so long without saying anything.

So Quinn goes on to explain that they left for school to be a proper marine biologist and that they wanted to study sea life. But he gets all huffy and is like. I'm literally sea life??? Why couldn't you stay to do that here??? And they have to further explain that. isn't how it works.

Leon is still a bit salty over the situation, but they both eventually come to an understanding. So the visits continue with Quinn promising that they won't be leaving again (at least not without telling him). Eventually the two introduce each other to their friends and stuff and fall in love at some point and yeahhh I'll probably figure out more stuff eventually idk

Hey, this isn’t related to the story but I was curious how you got started with twine? Your story inspired me and I want to learn the program so I can make my own. I wanted to see if you had any advice or reference points. Perfectly fine if not, much love regardless!

I've messed with Twine on and off for a while now, so I'm not sure when I actually got into it? It was probably when I originally got into IFs back in like 2015 lol

I use Twine Sugarcube specifically, and I pretty much just watched/read through these:

Twine or Treat: a youtube playlist where a guy shows you how to make a game. Focuses more on making an exploration/puzzle game in Twine, but still has some useful/relevant info

Introduction to Twine: another video playlist, although again, I really only watched what I needed

The Twine Grimoire: there's 3, with each one going through more complicated concepts each volume, includes Harlowe as well as Sugarcube

Sugarcube (and Harlowe) also have their own documentation, but it's so Long and Daunting that I honestly just ignored it when I first started LOL. It's obviously useful to have and reference, but I always need to watch people doing the thing first. I really struggle with just reading through things personally. I'm comfortable enough with Twine now that it isn't overwhelming though lol

Also I'd argue you really only need to learn how to set variables to get started with IFs. Once you know how passages work and how variables work, you're almost set to make an IF.

I'd also recommend learning the very basics HTML and CSS just in case. There's plenty of Twine templates available for free on itch.io, but if you want to adjust them in any way, it's helpful to know CSS/HTML. Also just have fun and mess around! From visual novels to this IF, my learning process has honestly just been 'fuck around and find out' and it's been useful so far! I also think it helps with the inherent anxiety of trying something new too

But yeah, hopefully some of this is helpful/useful to you!

some info ab them and their behavior since I like lore dumping.

VANNY is usually the one who lures kids, TEDDY disposes of them.

VANNY: At some point, the three main protagonists (Greg, Mitsuki, and Riley) have to split up, which splits SB into 10 chapters or so. Mitsuki is a NPC so she usually stays with Greg (as a support/healer character) but in some chapters she isn’t present. (Cuz Greg and her have to split in some points) In Gregory’s chapters, he deals with Vanny the most. She’s fast, and stealthy, and Gregory starts to hyperventilate and his heart beat picks up when she’s near instead of that eye killing glitch effect that happens in game. Gregory physically CANNOT hide from Vanny, cuz she can see through walls and objects. So she’ll just beeline towards Gregory if she sees him hiding behind a pot, box, in a scroller ETC, however, you are safe within Freddy, but you won’t be able to abuse the mechanic lol you’re also semi safe if you stay FARR away from her, she’ll sense you if you’re too close, wait for her to turn a corner, she has paths. At times, Freddy will get hacked by Vanny’s influence, so he’ll become a threat temporarily until he’s far enough from Vannys signal to control himself. Vanny is sweet, but quick to anger (especially from Gregory cuz he’s a little shit /pos) and she becomes more aggressive over time. She’ll eventually start playing games while trying to catch Greg. Think of it like that one yandere girl from Saiko No Sutoka.

TEDDY: At some point, Riley has to split up from Gregory and Mitsuki. Teddy reveals herself later on in his chapter. It’s much much easier to stay hidden from her, as they cannot see through walls like Vanny can. So Riley is able to avoid her by hiding in/behind boxes and stuff. She is much faster than Vanny however, and Riley is slow, so he can’t outrun her (it’s best to just not get caught) her influence isn’t as strong as Vanny’s, and Annette will even attack her if she witnesses them trying to hurt Riley (which would result in her running off) also, Riley is smaller than Gregory, which gives him the advantage to hide in really tight vents, they’re spread out about his areas so he can go in them if Teddy starts chasing him. Since most of Riley’s levels take place in the sewers/deeper parts of the pizza plex, so Teddy has free roam, she doesn’t have any paths like Vanny, she kinda functions like inkBendy from the first BATIM, she wanders, while Vanny has somewhat scripted events (not always, but most) also, Teddy has a mimic ability, she can mimic the voice of a child she or Vanny has killed. although this ability may seem a little OP, there’s a flaw, her mimicking is slightly off, so if she mimics someone who Vanny or herself haven’t killed, (like Gregory, or Mitsuki) it’ll sound off, glitchy even.

that’s it I guess! I might change a few thingies….but so far this is all I’ve got! ^_^ hopefully you guys like it! I’m willing to take suggestions/criticisms also :3

Oh I’m about to go in depth with the tea. I might make it an entire post and then send the link here bc it’s going to be VERY long.

But that’s also an option that maybe he was busy doing album things. From what I’ve seen with other artists and stuff that “might” be on the album, it’s nowhere near done. It seems like he either might’ve just started a few months ago or is only 50% completed. Which also sorta leads me to think it’ll be released later in the year around the winter months? But I hope he goes on tour for it lol. I’m already saving my money for however expensive the tickets for I’ll be as it’ll probably be his last one if he does. Because unfortunately, the last time he went on tour in my city was with Rihanna and I was 12… so I wasn’t even old enough to attended 🙄😐. Sigh LOL

Do you also have info on the album ? Because I figured from Dre's Jimmy Kimmel interview that the album was "done" and someone (allegedly an insider) came forward and said that they're currently working on the Spotify and Apple Music approval process... I would like for the album to come soon, like may or june but, realistically, I'm thinking October or November ?

As for a tour, I am absolutely saving up money as well, just in case 👀. I agree that it might be his last tour, since he has been touring less and less. If there is a tour, I'm hoping for a few dates in Europe and, hopefully, France but he hasn't been here in a minute 😅. That being said, for him, I'm absolutely ready to do a bit of traveling 🙊
