Dying man tells police he was on Japan's most wanted list for 50 years
By Mark Saunokonoko, 7:49am Feb 28 2024
A Japanese man's deathbed confession - that he was one of the country's most wanted fugitives and had been on the run for nearly 50 years - has turned out to be true.
The 70-year-old, who was dying of stomach cancer, told the police he wanted to die using his real name, Satoshi Kirishima, instead of his alias, Hiroshi Uchida.
Four days before he died, Kirishima revealed to police he was part of a radical group that carried out bombings in the 1970s.

DNA test results processed after his death confirmed he was telling the truth.
Born in 1954, Kirishima was a university student in Tokyo when he became involved in extremism and joined the East Asia Anti-Japan Armed Front, a militant group that carried out a series of bombings targeting major Japanese companies in the 1970s.
Eight people died more than 160 were injured in the 1975 bombing of a Mitsubishi Heavy Industries building which was blamed on the group.
Kirishima was allegedly involved in a number of the bombings.
He was wanted on charges of setting off a time bomb in a building in Tokyo's posh Ginza district in April 1975 in which no one was injured.
Though not a key member of the group, he was said to be the only one of the 10 members who was never caught.
While on the run, Kirishima did not have a mobile phone or health insurance and had his salary paid in cash to avoid detection, according to NHK public television.
A photo on Kirishima's wanted poster shows him smiling, with long hair and glasses.
Two members of the group were sentenced to death, including founder Masashi Daidoji, who died on death row in 2017.

Two of the eight members of the group were indicted in the bombings are still at large after their release in 1977 as part of a deal negotiated by another radical group, the Japanese Red Army, when it hijacked a Japan Airlines plane in Bangaladesh.
Police are continuing to investigate how he managed to evade capture for 49 years, and whether anyone helped him build a new, second life.
The Japan Times reported Kirishima had been living in Fujisawa in the Kanagawa Prefecture, in Tokyo's west.
He had been employed at a building firm for around 40 years.

Favourite (+ Least Fav) Male Seiyuu
Please check out the original post here!
This post will cover 1-2 on the original post.
While the ranking is based off of purely my personal opinion, I thought I would state some factors that go into the ranking.
Voice acting ability: This is pretty standard. You know what to expect here. Performance is a key factor here. If they can act well and convince me of the character they're playing, then I consider it a good performance. Range is another lesser component. If I feel like they have incredible range in terms of their voice and emotion, that also comes into play.
Sentimentality: This is very subjective. This takes into account things such as access to good to roles and the impact of those roles which largely depend on how good the show is and how strong the writing is. Voice actors can try their best and give really good performance, but if the production, writing, art, or directing isn't good, it can all amount to close to nothing through no fault of the artists involved.
Musical ability: These days, voice actors are expected to sing with few exceptions (Akira Ishida is an exception, for example).
Voice: Yeah, if I like their voice, it boosts them up the list because it's a voice acting list. It has nothing to do with their voice acting ability. Although, range can help this a lot.
Personality: Although it doesn't really have anything to do with any of the other categories, personality that is shown through shows, events, and radio do play a small part in this because seiyuu are ultimately entertainers. These days, they are expected to be the whole package.
For each choice, I will include a gif of a role that I liked (recent roles are prioritized) for the top ten.
Least Favourite Male Seiyuu
Eh, there are some voice actors I definitely don't like as much. Okay, obviously, I am going strictly on voice and artistry for this one. I'll save the other ones for another time. The first one that popped into my mind was Daiki Kobayashi. The second was Tatsuhisa Suzuki who did not land in this category because of his scandal. He's here because I don't find him in good in most things that aren't comedic. I can't take him seriously in serious scenes (like Bryce Papenbrook).
Favourite Male Seiyuu (TOP TEN)
HONOURABLE MENTIONS:
These ones are definitely nothing to sneeze at. I just ran out of spaces. Heck, I had to skip a few voice actors I liked here too. Actually, now that I think about it, the ordering changes really frequently so don't pay too much attention to that. Or anything. My opinions change.
Yuuichirou Umehara
This one is kinda funny. I haven't exactly seen a whole lot of range from him. However, I have enjoyed a lot of the things I've seen him in recently (Romantic Killer, Villainess Tames the Final Boss, Cautious Hero). He performs his type-cast as the ikemen particularly well, but I feel like they're only casting him as characters that are handsome because he fits that physically. I want to see him play someone absolute repulsive. I've heard him play a disgusting creep on his radio show with Koutarou Nishiyama, and it was funny (especially since it was unscripted). He is really good at singing, and I hope to see a solo career eventually. His honest personality is endearing in a way because it's just plain amusing watching someone who looks like he doesn't really want to be there having to exist there. It's relatable.
Natsuki Hanae
I honestly didn't like his voice at first. In some ways, I don't like his more annoying roles, but lately, the casting has done his wonders. I think it's pretty self-explanatory why he's here. I definitely like how he changed his image from old "Hanaecchi" (especially since he's a proud dad now).
Kensho Ono
He dropped quite a bit since my previous list. This is probably because he hasn't had any standout roles recently. Yuri is funny but kinda annoying. We see a lot of Kana fangirling about being married to him, but I want to see the other side. She called him a "natural ikemen". We need to hear from the "natural ikemen's" side.
Junichi Suwabe
His voice is well-suited for a lot of stuff, and he's really good at voice acting. He's definitely top-tier, and my favourite role would probably be Odasaku from BSD. However, his most recent role that struck a chord with me was from "Kotaro Lives Alone". That anime was harrowing for a lot of reasons, but you see some of the reasoning behind his character, it just makes you feel something. Go watch that show. I should've written a "Why You Should Watch Kotaro Lives Alone", but I was pretty lazy and a bit too stunned by the show's approach to such mature topics in such a simplistic/childish art style. Watching that after hearing him as Sukuna was a trip.
Akira Ishida
ZURA JANAI, KATSURA DA!!! Yeah, he's funny. I don't see much of him, and he's definitely not one for the public eye, but he is genuinely one of the greatest voice actors with some of the widest range I've ever seen.
Miyu Irino
I attribute the propaganda spread by datenshi-luci on Tumblr and others for keeping his placement relatively consistent. His music (from what I hear) is good, but I couldn't find it on Spotify last I looked. His acting has moved me to near tears twice with Anohana and Koe no Katachi. I haven't watched his recent roles. I don't keep up with Osomatsu-san, and he hasn't had a huge break in Mob Psycho 100 YET. I'm waiting. And won't bother with Platinum End. We all know that show is crap. Did you hear it got renewed? Bro??? Give me Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun season two.
10. Kenjiro Tsuda
Tumblr media
I know we all know him for Way of the Househusband, but I actually still like his role in ID: Invaded. And we obviously can't forget Nanami from Jujutsu Kaisen. He definitely has a "ikebo" which is basically the seiyuu slang for "handsome voice" which a lot of the actors on this list do, but he definitely nails it perfectly.
9. Yuuichi Nakamura
Tumblr media
I feel like his over-saturation in recent seasons has led to a bit of decline for my personal enjoyment of his roles (especially since over-saturation leads to more bad roles). This is obviously no fault of his as a voice actor or anything. I know it's ironic since having too few roles can also have the same effect. I still say that Fruits Basket 2001 got the casting better for Shigure and Hatori. Why? Because he's darn good. My favourite recent role is probably Gojo for obvious reasons which is that he's funny. I still need to finish the rest of Clannad (finished the first season) and some of his other good roles.
8. Tomokazu Sugita
Tumblr media
Honestly, he hasn't had that many huge and major roles since striking it on his own, and I think that's good if that's what he wants (especially since his YouTube career is growing little by little). But I don't have a ton of recent roles that I can point at and go, "Yeah, I like that." I think the last one was the Usahara from Uramichi. Besides that, he places here due to pure nostalgia and sentimentality alone, and I think that really shows. He was hilarious in a lot of Gintama (which is essential for the show), and he honestly made me feel feelings when I watched SKET Dance (which you should totally watch). Although known for primarily comedy, I think it's really easy to forget that he is just as capable acting in a serious setting.
7. Mamoru Miyano
Tumblr media
The man, the myth, the legend. This will probably move up quite a few spaces once we get his performance as Douma WHICH I PREDICTED, BY THE WAY. He can sing, dance, act, and he's got it all. Really an absolute unit. My favourite casting is when they get the description "Funny man that cries on the inside" and just get him to do the role. Dazai from Bungou Stray Dogs? Kotaro from Zombieland Saga? And maybe even Okabe from Steins;Gate (haven't watched it)? Absolute genius, but he can play anything.
6. Yuuma Uchida
Tumblr media
Fruits Basket is clearly still on my mind, and his song Speechless has got to be one of my favourite anime endings of all time. I find it funny how he's always type-casted as the tough and grumpy type when he's the most giggly fun guy off-screen. We're talking about Kyo from Fruits Basket, Ash from Banana Fish, Megumi from Jujutsu Kaisen, Uenoyama from Given, Chika from Kono Oto Tomare, etc. They always come with an optional "soft on the inside" subgroup. His sibling stories are funny, and he has the weirdest laugh. He was originally put on our radars by his familial connections, but he quickly shot his way up to becoming one of the best newer voice actors.
5. Yoshimasa Hosoya
Tumblr media
This is probably one of the biggest drops. I haven't seen him in much anime as of recent. This will probably shoot back up after I finish "Yakuza's Guide to Babysitting", but until then, I can't remember a recent role I really like. As such, he's on here because I like his voice and there's a lot of sentimentality to back it up. His track record is nothing to sneeze at, and even though he's usually a side character, that doesn't make him any less as an actor. Plus, he has a really good singing voice.
4. Hiroshi Kamiya
Tumblr media
His best recent roles were from Kakushigoto and Uramichi, and those roles surely don't disappoint, but he also a huge nostalgia factor as well from things like Noragami and Angel Beats. He seems like such a stoic guy, and even though I don't like his singing at all, his acting is enough to carry to him to this high on the list. Although, now that I think about it, I don't like any of the top 4's singing.
3. Yuki Kaji
Tumblr media
This guy is winning at life right now. I haven't even watched his recent good roles in Attack on Titan or Ousama Ranking. This rides on pretty much just how much I like his past roles. There are a lot to choose from. For one, the first anime I watched was Magi where he played his first in a line of MANY main characters. There are just so many to choose from.
2. Yoshitsugu Matsuoka
Tumblr media
Speaking of a ton of main characters, we got the harem king himself. The relatable ball of social anxiety who also happens to apparently have allergies like me too (although his seems to present more dermal rather than respiratory). Anyways, he's funny, prevalent (yet doesn't seem to wear out too much), and he's really good at what he does. I can't picture anybody else playing Inosuke from Demon Slayer or Betelguese from Re:Zero. He has a very impressive range, and he's good at what he does.
1. Kouki Uchiyama
Tumblr media
We don't talk about Takt Op around here. That anime was trash, and I'm sure glad I dodged that bullet. I think I would almost watch Platinum End over it. I really enjoyed his portrayal of Miyamura from Horimiya. Even though I still prefer the softness of Matsuoka's voice, I think he did really well in that role. Toge from Jujutsu Kaisen is another recent role where he's funny. But most of his key roles still reside in the nostalgia department. I don't regret watching Soul Eater subbed (for one, they didn't gender Crona). From what I've seen in Devilman, he legitimately goes ham. I didn't finish the show, but his acting with the rest of the production shook me up to the point where I couldn't even finish the show (mostly the visuals at that point but I digress).
Again, the ordering means very little, and there are so many voice actors that I didn't mention or couldn't mention due to both space and time in this mortal realm. Anyways. That means that this list will probably age just as bad as the last one even without the scandals.
Feel free to take part in this challenge yourself!
Edit: This new Tumblr editor is really screwing me over hahaha (it crashed at least five times while I was making this, but man... Tumblr, why?!)

JPN Voice Actors Characters As Figures!
As you know, I’m an anime figure collector, but I also love Japanese voice acting. I find it so much more passionate and emotional than some English voice acting, in anime and outside of anime. So I thought I’d showcase some of the figures I’ve got that share the same Japanese voice actors!

Katsuhiro Otomo’s 1988 sci-fi classic Akira has had an unparalleled influence on anime and film, and an exhibition at the Tchoban Foundation in Berlin showcases the original drawings that brought its futuristic cyberpunk setting to life. Akira – The Architecture of Neo Tokyo features 59 production backdrops, layouts, concepts, and image boards, many of which have never been shown publicly. The collection includes now-iconic works by art director Toshiharu Mizutani and collaborators Katsufumi Hariu, Norihiro Hiraki, Shinji Kimura, Satoshi Kuroda, Hiromasa Ogura, Hiroshi Ōno, Hajime Soga, Tsutomu Uchida, and Takashi Watabe.
Otomo first released the dystopian story as a manga series in 1982 before turning it into the highly influential action film a few years later. The narrative follows characters Shōtarō Kaneda, the telekinetic Tetsuo Shim, and their friends, who navigate the imagined Japanese metropolis of Neo Tokyo with its neon streetlights, crumbling infrastructure, and unrelenting post-apocalyptic vibe.

RGG Tactics Who's Who
"Beefgnaw, who the fuck are all these Yakuza OCs you keep posting about"
Here you go. List will be updated as the story gets hashed out.
Hiroshi Aoyagi (aka Sojiro Amano): the protagonist of RGG Tactics. A Majima Family man with a knack for turning restaurants into licenses to print money. General manager of Kiwami Cafe in Kamurocho and later Neko-Kai Cafe in Sotenbori. A little guy with a big mouth. Loyal to a fault and stubborn as shit. Nishida's oath brother. Later forced to be Majima Construction's chief of safety and compliance and he hates every second of it.
Eiji Yamaoka: A Nishikiyama Family hitman who presents himself as a protective big brother to Aoyagi, but neither Aoyagi nor the audience are fooled by his bullshit. Clean and methodical on the clock, charming and outgoing on his own time, rarely seen without at least one pretty girl on his arm.
Yusuke Kuroshi/Homare Nishitani II: Current patriarch of the Kijin Clan, retainer to the Omi Alliance chairman, chairman of the Sotenbori Civic Association's Board of Directors, and legendary info broker. By all appearances, the exact opposite of his predecessor. Cold, calculating, refined, sometimes cruel, always in control. Or... almost always. If you've read "It's All About the Bit" you've met him.
Keiichi Sugihara (Kei-chan): Nishitani II's better half, Civic Association member, owner of a video game store with a slightly illegal console chop shop in the back room, tech hobbyist who believes in better ass-kicking through technology.
Nobuaki Chiba: Kijin Clan lieutenant. Very intimidating if you don't know him. Kind of intimidating if you do know him, but for the most part he's Just A Guy who likes beer and fried shit and sportsball and throwing some good old fashioned hands in the street. Aoyagi's first friend in Sotenbori.
Shigeo "Doc" Nakamura: A doctor working for the Sotenbori Civic Association. Nobody's a hundred percent sure he actually has a license to practice but he does good work and he doesn't ask uncomfortable questions.
Shiori Hanada: A hostess at Club Sunshine who personally puts the fear of God into some asshole who's been snapping covert hostess foot pics under the tables and selling them on the street. She later goes to work at Cabaret Grand after Sunshine's current owner becomes too shitty a boss to stand.
Daikichi "b0ngl0rd69" Tomita: A friend(?) of Sugihara's who makes him look downright normal about games by comparison. Walks around Sotenbori with an honest to God gunblade. Is absolutely aware that the number in his handle has some... connotations in English.
Akemi "Crystal Star Sapphire" Sakurai: A hostess at Jewel in Kamurocho who moonlights at a magical girl-themed cosplay bar. She is an engineering major at Touto University who combines her technical knowhow with her prop-building skill to create ice-based weapons that are as dangerous (and possibly illegal) as they are pretty.
Minoru "Unlucky" Uchida: A string of poor life choices starting on the morning of his 42nd birthday have rendered him the unluckiest yakuza alive. Every single time his turn comes up, he will get hit by a random environmental hazard--and usually one with splash damage. His only real use in battle is to be sent into the middle of enemy formations like a laser-guided misfortune missile.
Torahiko Kogawa: Cat cafe mogul and terrible, horrible, no-good, very bad person. The antagonist of the Cat Cafe Grand Prix sideplot.
Yashiro Noguchi: CEO of Millennium Holdings in Sendai, currently being blackmailed by someone connected to his former boss.
Miyuki: Mysteriously dumped at the animal shelter in the dead of night and subsequently entrusted to Aoyagi's care as his first cafe cat. Pure white with the prettiest deep blue eyes. Magnificently fluffy, amazingly sociable, and stone deaf.
Ryo Amon: Personal chef to the Amon Clan, challenges Aoyagi and his crew to a cooking battle at the end of the Chef League sideplot.
Gen Amon: Leader of a breakaway sect of the Amon Clan, takes issue with certain rules of engagement the Amon Clan adheres to. He and his team are the requisite RGG Secret Boss Battle. Yes, Aoyagi gets not one but TWO rounds of Amon Clan Bullshit to deal with in this game.
Nyamon: A huge stocky black cat with God tier stats, who mysteriously shows up at the cat cafe shortly after you beat Gen Amon's team. While most of the cafe cats will let you put cute accessories on them, Nyamon will hiss at you if you attempt to swap his aviator shades out for something else.

Because sometimes, fighting fate is more than a one-man job.
At certain points in his adventure, Clive will be joined by certain stalwart allies who will fight alongside him—the composition of his party changing as the story develops. Unlike Torgal, these party members do not take orders directly from the player, but fight as they see fit.

One of these party members, Cidolfus Telamon, known to his friends as “Cid,” is a soldier turned outlaw that strives to build a place where persecuted magick casters—Bearers, and exploited Dominants can die on their own terms. A man of science, he also conducts research into how one might live in the deadlands—as he and his band of fellow heretics must. Cid is also a Dominant—the power of the Eikon Ramuh having awoken within him shortly after he landed on Valisthean shores. No doubt it was this power that saw him rise through the ranks of the Royal Waloeder Army—where it would seem he crossed paths with a certain Benedikta Harman…

mann
this is gonna get a bit long but its been bothering me a lot so just wanted to put this out there Looking at some of honeyworks’ songs and comparing them to other idol series, sometimes i reeallyyy think Honeyworks is wasting budding singing talents like Shimazaki Nobunaga (AIzou’s VA). He used to be an utaite (japanese cover singer) before becoming a voice actor, and while he wasn’t the best by any means, he’s slowly but surely GETTING there. Listen to PrinceXPrince and Aoi Pierce and you’ll get it. Honeyworks’ songs don’t seem to flatter or show off his talents at ALL.
And dont get me started on Uchiyama Kouki (Yuujirou VA). He wasn’t a singer at any point before, and you’ll really notice it in some of LIPxLIP’s first songs, but Honeyworks, again, does not show off or flatter his good parts at all.
And what bothers me about it is Honeyworks DOES have good, banger songs that makes the best use of what the VAs are good at. They just seem to fall off in LIPxLIP’s case. You may argue, “But LipXLip is one of Honeyworks’ best selling units/solos/albums, even more than some of their other songs/couples, most of whom are voiced by voice actors who also have a rich history of singing and VA work! Surely they wouldn’t be this popular if they werent as good as them!” And I think it has something to do with the fact that Uchiyama Kouki and Nobunaga Shimazaki arent part of any other virtual singing groups, but they’re both VERY popular VAs with large fanbases who understandably want to hear them sing, especially together, since they have such lack of roles together in any anime. And I think Honeyworks was wasteful with a lot of their VAs as well. Some were done justice with songs that flatter their range and singing skills- Yuji Kaji as Mochita, Kamiya Hiroshi as Yuu, UCHIDA YUUMA AS RIO (seriously brilliant job on FT4 Haniwa, all of them are top tier casting and all their songs let them sing how they sing best).... but then I cant think about the few most unutilized of all, Hanae Natuski as Kotaro and Matsuoka Yoshitsugu as Koudai... both genuinely good singers with a great singing voices (You can go listen to some of their songs, and Hanae Natsuki is also in Enstars and several other idol games) who only have 1-2 songs in haniwa.
TL DR; Honeyworks cant figure out how to bring out LIPxLIP’s VAs’ best singing voices or what kind of and while Haniwa is the reason I get to hear my favorite VAs sing about love and stuff, I sometimes wish some other composer group/ idol game got hold of these two first
