i understand that if you really convinced yourself of something you start seeing "clues" everywhere without being able to look at those "clues" neutrally. happens to everyone doesn't it? and if those rumours about sierra end up being true forget everything i said and tell me "i told you" and it's alright but i looked a bit through the things people took as evidence for sierra leaving and.. i don't see it?

i did some research and the summary and short version basically is: there are no bts pictures of sierra, sierra hasn't been seen on set in any of the casts posts and gina made a post for her birthday wishing her well for the future

neutral explanations: it seems like so far the focus is more on rescues and fire/ems stuff rather than family/relationship stuff. obviously sierra won't be on set for those. it's similar to rafael. besides the one pic from his trailer that he shared we haven't seen him either. we only know tarlos scenes are happening bc ronen talked about it at the convention but press season hasn't started yet so there is no place for sierra to talk about the show. and she's never been big on social media documenting everything she does so she wouldn't put out random statements or teasers about grace's storyline in the new season on there. in the past she would post a pic from her trailer every once in a while but she never really shared stuff while filming so that's not new. also grace isn't in all the episodes so my neutral explanation is she literally just hasn't been on set much and hasn't had any scenes with the others yet. and if they're filming grace/judd stuff then jim isn't sharing anything either for obvious reasons. (btw there are more recent posts about grace/judd on the official ls account than there are about tarlos for which it has almost been a year since the last post)

and i read gina's birthday post as genuine and normal birthday wishes. celebrating the person and wishing them well in life. that's what you do isn't it? sierra also commented on the post and said she was excited to see everyone at her party which again i am just going to put under the "she hasn't been on set much sharing scenes with the others yet" file.

something else i've seen a while ago that i just remembered was someone said that filming started and sierra still had braids and grace doesn't have braids so she isn't filming. which? gina had so many different hair styles as tommy why can't grace have another hairstyle in the new season as well? but again even if it is just sierra's hairstyle then i am going to add that to the "she hasn't been on set yet" file.

so as i said i fully understand spiralling. been there - done that. and it's what happens in fandom spaces isn't it? looking for little crumbs and drawing conclusions. but at this point i think people are mainly stressing other fans unnecessarily by creating these rumours. and again: if they turn out right forget everything i said and i'll apologise. but i'd wait for official statements or other proof that sierra is or isn't part of the new season. ya'll are giving yourself ulcers otherwise.

Yes all of this! I understand speculation is natural especially when we've all gone so long without any information but it's just bad science to draw a conclusion based on a lack of information or to find patterns out of gaps that you think should be filled. Nobody would accept a hypothesis proved by 'well it can't be disproven.' I see no reason at all to suggest Grace won't be in season 5 other than fans missing their fave and spiralling.

Theory for Power of the Doctor that's been stewing in my head since the first teaser:

I had the idea about this a while ago, but seeing the new promo pic below, plus getting the title of the episode, not to mention a particular line in the trailer makes me think it could really be going somewhere.

We can see clearly in this promo pic that the Doctor is some sort of glass chamber, a bit like the teleportation chamber in Heaven Sent. She's also surrounded by CyberMasters.

This looks near identical to something from Supremacy of the Cybermen, which similarly featured a cyberman dominated Gallifrey:

That's right...

...F*cking. Looms.

Now, to be fair, the fact that they're looms doesn't actually mean much as they're not being used to create new Gallifreyans, but instead draw out and steal the regeneration energy of existing ones. There isn't necessarily any reason to assume we'll get a name drop in the episode (although given the teases with the House of Lungbarrow in Flux etc. and it being Chibnall's last hurrah, who knows?).

No, instead we can theorise about the plot and ending of the episode, based on the story in Supremacy.

In this story, it's the exiled Rassilon, not the Master, who allies with far-future Cybermen to invade Gallifrey and seeks to regain the power he lost after Twelve deposed him. As well as cyberconverting many Time Lords, he helps them to extract regeneration energy from them and pump it into the Eye of Harmony.

With Gallifrey at the very end of the universe and falling apart due to their own recursive timeline meddling (which in the comic threatens to convert the Doctor's previous incarnations too), Rassilon seeks to go full a-God-am-I and use the energy to shape the next universe into something he can rule over.

(Gee... sounds a bit like Tecteun and the Division's plan doesn't it?)

When the Cybermen inevitably betray Rassilon, the Doctor convinces him to help fix the damage that has been done, instead using the regeneration energy to rewrite the reality of this universe.

This completely undoes the events of the story, to the point that no-one, other than the Doctor and possibly Rassilon (it's left ambiguous) remembers.

So, does this match up with what we've seen?

Clearly in the promo pic, the Doctor's regeneration energy seems to be forced out by the chamber she's in. We also some bolts of blue lightning, which if I had to hazard a guess is artron (temporal) energy:

Add in the line from the trailer from the Master:

I think the Master's plan may well be something along the lines of using the Doctor's infinite regeneration energy to undo her own existence (perhaps replacing her, if the "Peter Pan in Scarlet" / switch theory is correct?). There is likely more to this, given how complex the story seems, but this seems like his general aim.

But I reckon the story will end with the same energy, rather than doing this, being used to regenerate the universe, likely restoring not just the worlds that were destroyed by the flux (no I'm not just forgetting that 99.99999% of the universe is gone Chibnall!) but very possibly Gallifrey and the Time Lords too.

Either way, besides the Flux, DW Redacted (which itself is weirdly close to the Master's plan?), and some of the other anomalies we've seen like the New Year time loop and the stars moving in the sky in Legend of the Sea Devils when the world is 'disrupted' (I know it's sci-fantasy, but the idea of messing with the Earth's magnetic field causing stars to rearrange makes no sense), there's a lot of evidence to suggest something very weird and spacetime-y is coming.

But for me, the key piece of evidence is the name of the story:

The Power of the Doctor

Given the footage we've seen, the Master's plan, and everything we learned from the Timeless Child / Flux saga, it's seems clear to me that this 'power' is going to be regeneration itself.

And whatever this does, it may well be the reason for whatever's happening with Fourteen and Ten v2 in the 60th Anniversary specials / Series 14.

According to the slate it looks like episode nine… I am no expert at reading filming slates though. I literally just compared it to past bloopers and that’s what it would match as far as I can tell. If it’s episode nine it’s the episode after the anniversary party fight, right? That could be some killer angst.

I know I’m in the minority here but I so do not want blue ridge or even the threat of it (I can handle the threat of it and will probably eat it up if we actually get it but on paper I don’t really want it) to be a huge ongoing thing this season. To my engene family,

This letter is a little bit different from the rest. I’m sorry for any delay in the normal letters, I wanted to wait for the debut. I’d be writing a letter dedicated to the next person, but this is my letter to all of you.

I started watching I-LAND partially as a joke. I wasn’t on Tumblr that much, I had a few other K-pop groups that I liked, but I wasn’t in the fandoms that much. A friend texted me that there was a survival debut show that was airing soon and I watched it to humor them.

By the time I got to the second episode, I was already hooked. I loved all their interactions and I loved their performances and I found myself rooting for each and every boy that was on the show. I looked for content—for art and for writing and for wallpapers and edits and so much more and I found myself scrolling through Tumblr, laughing at incorrect quotes, and looking with wide eyes at different blogs that were interacting with each other as if they’d known each other for years. By that time I’d decided to become more active on Tumblr, and after working up the courage to talk with people, I got adopted into the amazing family.

That was five months ago now.

It took me a while to get used to it all. I now had people who I interacted with on a daily basis. I was scared to talk to a lot of people, and I still am, but now I’ve grown comfortable with all of you and I care for you all with all my heart.

You all have supported me through my low days. You all cried with me when someone got eliminated. You’ve screamed with me when a trailer or a teaser gets released. You’ve bubbled with theories and symbolism and lore. You’ve produced so much content, content that never fails to amaze me every day. You clown with me, laugh with me, you all are always here for me.

We’ve watched as these boys have gone from trainees to idols. And today they have debuted.

I’ve had some ups and downs and I’ve had good days and bad days. I am slow to write letters and I have created very little content or contributions to this fandom. But you all are a constant to me. You are a shoulder I can lean on.

As I write this I’m hiding behind a profile pic and a sideblog, so I don’t know whether this letter will mean anything to you. But I want to tell you all that you mean the world to me.

Thank you for the support, the laughs, the good and bad, the happy and the sad. How you have accepted me into the family and made me feel welcome.

pingxie thoughts (and prayers) bonus 1/2

tbh i was very unsure if i should be doing any analysis on these pictures when am not that well aware of what happens here (i’ve never read the novels) but these pics just really deserve it. after this, i will try to return to the regular blabbering posts at some point but i hope you enjoy these in the mean time. part 2 you can find here.

The Bazaar Photoshoot – Ideal Reality

As ppl probably know by now, the theme of this photoshoot was the Pingxie reunion that happens after the ten years Xiaoge has spent behind the Bronze Gate. I don’t have an impression of the original scene in the novels but ZSX and XYL very lovingly provided us with the most important dialogue in the video clips we got (which I will not be analyzing here bc this would become even longer than it already is), so I have at least some type of overall view through that. 

At first tho, I’m going to divide the photos into two categories which I will be labeling as “the (ideal) reality” and “the (future) dream”. In this first part I will be focusing on “the reality”. 

(more under the cut bc the pics obviously make this kinda long)

This part I called “reality” happens in the pictures with colors, where Pingxie are dressed in their more casual clothes (tho idk, who goes on a mountain in a suit? def neither of them, I bet, but it’s a photoshoot so let’s forget that). In these photos the whole reunion itself happens, concrete and very much real, easy for us to imagine. (One of the first teaser pictures we got was of this moment and it really felt like their reunion even without any context.)

They are facing each other in these photos to properly give off the feeling of them walking towards each other, meeting halfway, and finally colliding after all those years. (This also happens in the video clips so I think it really is their purpose here, to make them physically meet.) 

Wu Xie is grasping Xiaoge’s shoulder like he’s trying to make sure that Xiaoge is real. Like he’s trying to make himself believe that Xiaoge is actually there, right before his eyes, alive and healthy and for him to touch. (And I very much think that he is trying to do just that, trying to make himself believe, bc this moment is so unreal after all those years spent alone. I wonder how many times he saw mirages during the past years only to wake up and realize it was just a dream.)

In these photos where they face each other, it feels like they are looking at each other but then also kinda not? It’s like they’re looking through each other almost, seeing something more before them than just a person. Maybe it’s the future they see, or the past. Maybe it’s those both at the same time. (Maybe this is just me reading too much into them when they’re only being awkward and maybe I should stop. Maybe.) 

Then there’s also that permanent smile on Wu Xie’s face that I adore. It’s like in this reality there’s nothing that could make him happier than seeing Xiaoge again. Wu Xie seems so utterly delighted to be here (which, obviously, understandable. He’s waited a decade). His smile and eyes are so soft here. There is adoration in his look bc he’s been finally reunited with the person that matters the most to him. And Xiaoge meets him with this stoic look, this blank face we very often see but his eyes are locked to Wu Xie too. He’s glad to be there, glad to be back. (And I’ve heard that in the novels Xiaoge returns from the Bronze Gate without any serious trauma etc. but is that really realistic? I don’t think so. So only in this “ideal” reunion, neither of them carries the weight they actually do and can meet like this, happy and easy.)

Also, as a quick note, I need to mention the glasses in the photo below. It’s a cool little detail. It feels almost like a nod towards the fact that Wu Xie wishes he could change himself. That he could still appear the same in front of Xiaoge, be as innocent, be that “tianzhen wu xie” he used to be. Are the glasses his innocence then or him without it? I don’t know. 

Then let’s move to the lying-in-the-snow photos. Those seem to emphasize that, in fact, this truly is an ideal reality, a moment that’s almost idyllic to Pingxie. There is that feeling of basking in the other’s presence, the joy of closeness, the unhurried moment of pure bliss. They haven’t seen each other in ten years, Wu Xie has gone through hell, Xiaoge has been lost in darkness, and they both know the sacrifice they’ve made for the other. They are finally here after all that. They obviously want to enjoy their moment together, and I feel like these photos show how they wish for this moment to last. This moment that is still carefree and just filled with joy. Bc on that mountain, in the middle of the snow, they are not part of the cruel world quite yet. They’re away from reality even if this still is real. This is their little bubble, untouched by the life outside of this snowy scene.

After that, I gotta mention here that these are my personal favorites out of all of the photos we got. Especially the picture above where Wu Xie is smiling. He looks so content and happy in it that my heart just melts (and after knowing what happens in Sand Sea, he really does deserve happiness). 

I find it kind of symbolic in these photos how Wu Xie is the one with his eyes closed, basking in the moment, while Xiaoge is looking into the distance. It’s like Xiaoge is already being pulled away a bit, even in this ideal reality of theirs. He’s always away, not completely there. Even he himself doesn’t know who he is, like XYL said in their interview for the magazine. He would be the one to move first, if they had to.

But then again, in the picture below where Wu Xie has his eyes open, Xiaoge is turned towards him. His focus is solely towards Wu Xie while Wu Xie looks into the camera with eyes that could be almost seen as angry. And all of this feels like some type of new resolve, like things really have changed.

With this, it’s interesting to note that the photo above is, besides being the only one where someone is looking at the camera, also the only one where the snow isn’t falling. This makes it feel like some type of turning point, the crashing of reality. It’s like they have reached what they were looking for and now this is where we will move forward. This is where they have become something new. This is where and how they meet the world again. 

And how does that happen? With the new roles they have taken in each other’s lives. Wu Xie has come to protect Xiaoge, wishing to keep him safe from all those ppl that try to use him when he’s vulnerable. Wu Xie’s look in this feels almost like a warning to those ppl. And then there’s Xiaoge, finally in touch with his humanity despite of being so far away from it for a decade. He’s accepted that he can be someone that feels, who needs ppl beside him. He’s curled on his side here, looking very soft, almost fragile – and that’s what he can be now, with Wu Xie. (And we really gotta thank XYL for giving all of this humanity to Xiaoge bc now he feels real, and I always break when I think about the affection and understanding he has towards his character, it’s truly amazing). This is the photo where things have changed and we return closer to the “true” reality. 

So, in the end, this “ideal reality” consists of the actual reunion scene – which feels like the realest or most realistic part of the photoshoot – and then these other moments that follow, these brief happiness indulged dreams that probably only appear in their minds. (These feel a bit like those extra sappy scenes you get in romance dramas where a short moment suddenly turns into a pastel pink hued musical number, just saying.) This is Pingxie’s romanticized reality. It’s what they wish could happen – and maybe it does in some ways, tho I doubt they really go rolling around in snow like that. But I still wish they both can truly smile and be happy and forget about the world for a bit. The reality is harsh – let them dream a little.

We are totally hanging out first! Honestly I don’t understand why we keep putting you with Dylan in the same car, you win at everything. maybe I should switch the cars around and give you Ryan instead? But Brigid+Dylan is 😍 and I need that to happen. Wait imagine we are all in our cars and we just pull up all at the same time to a red light and we roll down the window and just laugh at each other and then we all zoom away. I would absolutely not let Ryan sit up front with me, we would probably start smacking each other and chirping each other and I would lose concentration so imma put him in the back with Braden :) . Quinner can come and hold my hand because he’s gorgeous and I wanna hold his hand. Quinton would be fine, he’s seems like he would be slightly chaotic. Kesh has the most chill car. Like Kirby, Dylan C and Devon are all chill and would just be calmly talking while Kesh is driving.

When we are all together tho, it’s more chaotic. Haha yes the braiding is not going well for Dylan and Jamie they’d be like “How do I do this?” I don’t understand this. Why does this exist lol. Yess I would have to pull over and make them switch with Devon and quinton hehe. They would just be calmly braiding your hair and then Jamie and Dylan would be slightly jealous and pouting in the back. Just a warning I love music so imma play that loud and roll down the windows. Only for a bit tho . Also kesh omg late night drives are so cute. Also imagine all of us in a grocery store, that would be so chaotic. Also why do I feel like Braden, Kirby , Dylan C would pass out for literally the entire drive?

Malt teaser are yummy, but what about sour patch kids orrrrr peanut putter filled M&Ms. Have you ever had those? I always get them if I go to the movies:) Nutella is good too! Imma be Canadian and say have you ever had all dressed ruffles? Nanaimo bars are delish, we can get them in BC ! I’ll buy you poutine brigid. The boat is a must! All of these activities are so fun, Brigid you would go on the same tube w Dylan?. We would definitely make each other fall. Tanning is a dream sometimes - but while your tanning Jamie and Dylan are looking at you 😏 same w Kirby kesh . I’m not gonna lie drinking on a boat is nice. Some white claws or margaritas lol. Aww one of them holding your waist, some photos are gonna be taken there. Lmao Quinner is gonna be like “I’m gonna get a drink” and leaves and then Ryan sneaks up and pushes me. But not so fast I would grab him real quick and we would both fall in l😂. Drunk Quinner is the best, but I would secretly love that he’s being clingy 🥺. Dylan H seems like the jealous type and probably so is Jamie. But you dancing with them would be soooo cute! They just want be constantly around you. Kesh and Kirby would be slaying.

so ig it’s been decided that dylan and i are in the same car so we can dominate once again lol. and then jamie and quinton are there too and then jamie and dyl are just trying to talk over each other to have a convo with me, so then i start ignoring them and talk to quinton instead hehe. omg yes if we all pull up at a red light at the same time, i’m that one person who just keeps inching forward when someone rolls up next to them and then as soon as the light turns green i’m gone lmao. so esp if it was you guys i would be being extra competitive. haha yes banish ryan to the back with braden so he doesn’t make you crash the car bc we’re too broke to pay for rental car damages. and then quinner gets to sit in the front with you and hold your hand 🥺 and then kesh is just vibing in her car and then i feel like they would all get distracted and decide to go sight-seeing and forget about the race lol

haha yes when we’re all in the car together it will be so chaotic. and then jamie and dyl are both trying to braid and they can’t and they’re getting frustrated bc my hair is just in knots and they’re just like why is this even a thing? why do people actually want to do this? and then thankfully you pull over to save my hair and then devon or quinton has to fix it. and then jamie and dyl are just pouting about it and you and ryan start chirping them about it lol. and yes please play your music as loud as you want. i love having the windows down and just blasting music super loud esp when you’re on the highway. and then somehow kirby, dylan c, and braden are just asleep in the back? even tho the music is so loud lmao. definitely have to play like a g6 for the boys lol. awwww yes a late night drive would be so fun. idk why i just love driving in the dark

omg all of us in the grocery store together is literally the worst idea ever. like it would be so chaotic, all of us would be running around the store looking for whatever food we wanted. and we would not get like any healthy food, it would all be junk food, which would be horrible for all of us athletes lmao. and then in the end the cart would be overflowing and half the boys would come running up to us with more food they wanted and then the cash register would just be like wtf why do you need sm food. but we would end up eating it all by the end of our trip bc we all eat so much

omg sour patch kids, resees and peanut butter m&ms are like my three favorite candies so we would have to stock up for the drive. i just looked up all dressed ruffles and now i literally want to try them so bad. but we would have to have so many bags bc we all eat so much lol. and then yes i love dark chocolate, so bring any kind of dark chocolate. and then we have to be at least a little bit healthy and bring like carrots and peanut butter or something. and then making pit stops to get nainaimo bars and poutine bc i want to try both those things lol

this is my stupid “theory”

Alright, so here's my dumbass theory on 부작용 (Side Effects) M/V

DISCLAIMER: this is only my opinion and I might be completely wrong, so don't take it too seriously, this is just speculation, but bear with me and my weird mind cause this is gonna be a long trippy journey lol

First of all, Yellow Wood refers to a poem by Robert Frost called "The Road Not Taken" and this is my main source in trying to understand this whole concept of Clé 2. The poem refers to some existential questions that concern the human being, such as life and death, one's choices and the unscapable passing of time. The narrator faces two possible ways to go, but he has a hard time chosing one, feeling sorry that he can't travel both, but eventually he decides on one even though he spent a long time trying to see where the other leads to. Yellow Wood is mentioned right at the beginning [Two roads diverged in a yellow wood] and it’s considered a metaphor for our “autumn years”, when we get to "harvest" everything we "cultivated" when we were young, and it's also a time to remember and reflect upon our deeds. We see the yellow wood (a tree) that symbolizes this "passage" on the teaser as soon as they step out of the elevator. This means that SKZ is now more mature and wiser than they were before, and are looking back on their choices (Hellevator, anyone?). However, they know that for every action there's an equal and opposite reaction, and these reactions are the Side Effects of their choices.

NOW THIS IS WHERE THIS GETS CHALLENGING BECAUSE I NEED TO EXPLAIN THIS MESS THAT'S INSIDE MY HEAD, HOLD MY HAND AND LET'S GO CRAZY TOGETHER!

we all know by now that this MV is focused on Hyunjin, right? we'll talk more about this later on, so let's analize the elements on the video first

The opening scene shows a bus with a lion (Miroh, anyone?) and a license plate that says "AD 2540". The only explanation for this in my point of view is that this is probably Anno Domini (referencing a long distant distopic future). Anyways... we also see some sort of security system being displayed on the screen as if they're being constantly watched (it shows up again when they trespassed the road and it reminds me of Miroh too)

We see them not taking the bus, since the MV is the development of their second choice on the teaser, and walking together with Hyunjin behind them. What called my attention is that not only we see two freaking moons (alternative universe, parallel universe, alternative reality??), but we see that the road is blocked!!! how did that bus stop there if there's no open road? Besides, the elevator seems to go down on the teaser, so they were actually up in the sky? it seems like it since it looks like there's more of that elevator structure upwards

It's morning when they begin their journey by themselves (there's reference to morning as well in the poem, and it symbolizes new beginnings, new things coming), and this is where SKZ are heading: a new path

We see them with nine dancers wearing black clothes and a mask, probably signifying their double selves that have taken a different path because they mirror their moves like a shadow

The cart's gas is almost ending, but what makes them stop is a flat tire, weird, huh? as if they were supposed to end up there somehow...

Felix sees something outside the cart that makes him happy and interested, but Hyujin seems to breakle his bubble (would he be hipnotized??) and they fight, probably because Hyunjin knows more than he shows... what could Felix see on an open field that's so appealing? Maybe whoever is watching them is also manipulating their reality? Don't know...

Throughout the MV we see the scenes changing to yellow shades and in this one we clearly see the duality between SKZ and their doubles

Don't know if it's on purpose, but here's another feline on the door

Moving on!!

After being forced to stop, they face a closed road and they seem to be pondering how to take this road. Seungmin grabs a camera and Hyujin is quite pissed that he's taking pics. Why? Here again I think that Hyunjin is probably the one that's more "lucid" in this whole alternate realities thing, but why taking pics would annoy Hyunjin so much? Would pictures mean evidence? Hmm....

Once they start fighting, we see shades of yellow again taking over the scene. In reality universe stories we know that once you decide something, other possibilities open while some close, and to me the yellow symbolizes the side effects of their actions, the paths they’re closing and opening according to their choices.

They step on a map that shows a yellow area, the elevator, open road, and the closed road they're at, so they're probably trying to figure out their own path without guidance of any sorts, they're gonna find out their way out by themselves

SKZ drives until it's dark, and Robert Frost has another poem that is called "Acquainted With The Night" that deals with themes such as isolation, insomnia, existence, and depression. The narrator says he's outwalked the furtest city light/ and he's heard an interrupted cry/ not to call me back or say good-bye/ and that a clock against the sky proclaimed the time was neither wrong nor right/. According to the Owlcation website, the "poem echoes the descent into a dark place where time has no meaning and words are useless [...] there may be a sense of hopelessness, a sense that some kind of threshold has to be gone through to regain confidence and light". Jisung is looking at a city (light) that seems to be up in the clouds, probably the place from where they came down on the elevator, but now they have to face this hard dark path to reach the light again, to go up once more.

They see the bus they didn't take and they are seen by the driver through the rearview mirror, but the bus doesn't stop for them, showing they can't go back to walk the path they already left behind (although we see SKZ on the bus too, the ones on the left side of the screen on the teaser, I'll call them v.2). Some say that a bus is a metaphor for our own internal conflicts and experiences like our emotions, thoughts and memories that are "passengers" in our bus (= mind), but SKZ is not the one driving their bus, hence they're not in control of themselves. SKZ v. 1 is outside, being left behind while SKZ v.2 are just passive passengers, sleeping soundly and unaware of what’s happening on the outside.

We see them on the road with a storm behind them, symbolizing that a huge disturbance will happen. Frost also has a poem that can be related to this, it's entitled "Storm Fear" and it shows how the human mindset can be changed by the environment the person is in. We see this in Felix's part in Side Effects: I won't change, always yeh / I used to shout that, but why am I / According to my surroundings / Countlessly being changed? As a verb, we see storm on the dictionary as "moving angrily or forcefully in a specified direction", and that's how they run afterwards (although I don't get why Minho has his back turned - maybe denial? I don't know)

And here we can clearly see that there’s a distortion of their reality (and a fragmentation when  부작용 shows up on the screen). 

Soooo.... what does all of this mean? 

In my opinion, they're being affected by their choices. In Miroh we see them saying It's not hard in this rough jungle/ It was me who ran into it, I'm okay/, but in Side Effects we have I threw myself with trust in me/ But why am I being swayed?/ But why am I just being hurt?/, meaning that probably the path they chose was harder than they thought and they can't live up to their own expectations, wondering if they can actually do everything they screamed they could (we see this in Felix & Hyunjin's lines in Side Effect). In Miroh, Jisung says that they're running through the maze like a beast and avoiding all the familiar paths because it's a new challenge, but this challenge now is weighing them down and their bravado (atittude intended to intimidate) can't last anymore now that they're more experienced and going through hard times.

The way I see it, they're now in some sort of a limbo, an in between place (a maze, Miroh), constantly facing multiple paths that may lead them to the exit (they had an Entrance song in Clé 1), but they're on their own, trying to figure everything by themselves, and they're still lost and confused because they're chosing unfamiliar paths. They're changing, although they're trying to fight against it and remain the same as they were before, but it's impossible not be affected by the surroundings (they're being watched and controled). 

But in my interpretation, they're gonna figure out that taking the harder and uncommon path is gonna be worth it, and I say this because of Frost's "The Road Not Taken". The poem ends with the narrator saying that:  Two roads diverged in a wood, and I- (the man facing his own internal issues)   I took the one less traveled by, (he's breaking patterns for not walking the same road everyone else walked on)  And that has made all the difference (by 'rebelling' against the system, doing what few people has ever done, he's securing his individuality and free will).

 And that's how Stray Kids are gonna break free and be in control of themselves again.

If this long dumbass theory is right or not, Clé 2: Yellow Wood to me seems like SKZ is trying to show they're more mature and independent, even though they have to face hardships and confusion in a path they wanna take without help to show us their true colors (and that one of them is probably a huge Robert Frost fan lolololol)

Now a couple of things I don't quite get in this MV: why is Hyunjin the one that's more aware of everything? why was he on the grass on the last scene? was he dreaming? foreseeing their future? what?! and why SKZ is looking at him in a weird way? (especially Jeongin, who hugged him in the cart and smiled too much.. Jeongin was the one on the control room in Miroh, maybe he's working on both sides?). And the key at the end is another path they might walk? another road to "unlock"??? are they unlocking worlds?????

THE  ‘CABIN’  ON  THE  MEADOW

When I took screenshots for DISTRACTIONS & CONSEQUENCES I noticed a certain object on the meadow near the street where Phil deals with his unmoving car. It looks like some sort of small cabin and is caught by the camera several times in all four sequences of the boomerang case. 

More than one director of the TV series has indicated that nothing is unintentional nor a coincidence in Sherlock BBC (X  X)  Therefore the possibility exists that this object on the meadow, which can be seen multiple times, could have some meaning as well. This in mind, I took a closer look .. 

TBC below the cut ….

1 - The first time the cabin can be seen (during Phil’s visual report of the incident) it is shown only partly. First on the left, then on the right margin of the screen. It stands on the meadow next to the street but is separated from the street by a hedgerow. Therefore it most likely has nothing to do with road maintenance. Otherwise it would be rather impractical to reach.

2 - When John arrives at the crime scene and describes his surroundings via WiFi, the cabin takes a much more central position.

3 - When Sherlock explains the boomerang case to Irene, while the camera circles round them, the cabin turns up multiple times in the background.

4 - It even stays in the frame for some time when Irene explaines the case in the final sequence, while Sherlock watches, drugged by her chemistry.

Gotten curious, because I had an idea what this ‘cabin’ might possibly be, I enlarged one of the sharper pics for a better view. 

Those things can be found in various shapes and forms (some examples below) …  but I think this cabin looks a lot like a container for beehives. 

Of course, even if this cabin on the meadow is indeed a container for beehives, it could simply stand here anyway because it belongs to the person who owns that area and therefore it was caught on camera unintentionally. And naturally it would appear that often on screen because the scene was done by an allround shot. But then, who knows? If it really has to do with bees, I consider a coincident as rather unlikely. After all, bees and beehives are very well known to be closely linked with canon Sherlock Holmes, especially with his retirement upon the South Downs.

A small, lonely farm upon the South Downs, the soothing life of nature, keeping bees and enjoying the honey gathered by them on blossoming fields and meadows. Maybe near a lake or stream? Somewhere out in the middle of nowhere? 

As soon as I considered the possibility that the cabin on the meadow could indeed be a home for bees, I started to look at the place chosen as filming location for the boomerang case, with different eyes. What could have been the reasons for the decision to choose precisely this place? Soft, rolling hills, sometimes covered by woodland, lush green meadows, rivers, streams, small brooks and ponds are characteristic features of the South Downs. (Source of pics: Wikipedia) 

The landscape where the boomerang case takes place could easily be located somewhere in the South Downs … 

It doesn’t take much fantasy to imaginge that Sherlock’s little ‘retirement’ farm lies just round the bend of the street on the pic below, somewhere near that lake or stream. Perhaps there’s even a small boat at hand for occasional trips on the water. After all ... once a pirate, always a pirate. :)

Side note: according to the DVD commentaries for ASIB, the boomerang scene was filmed in a valley in Wales. 

As mentioned in DISTRACTIONS & CONSEQUENCES … viewing Series One as prelude for the whole story, where the first three episodes serve as introduction (ASIP), user manual (TBB) and chapter list (TGG) … the actual story told in Sherlock BBC - the crux of the matter - would then start with A Scandal in Belgravia. Here, Mycroft tells Sherlock (and the audience) that this case is about sex. Sherlock’s appearance as well as the environment chosen for the beginning of the case …

a heartfelt yawn, as if just woken up from sleep

the lush green landscape of the surrounding area where the case starts

… are metaphors often used as indications for rebirth and renewal. And the boomerang case itself can be easily interpreted as a small foretaste - a teaser - of the central theme told in this episode, respectively of the whole story.

A very short summary of that case interpreted on a metaphorical level:  

A load of unacknowledged desire (obesenes) linked to a certain problem (Phil/John), causes an unmoving body (car) to explode and thus leads to ‘la petite mort’ of a distracted mind (Hiker/Sherlock), who was busily playing with a resurfaced memory (boomerang) from the past (East). The great water nearby (big emotions/Eurus), joined by a small brook (sex/Rich Brook/Reichenbach/Jim Moriarty/Mr.Sex) completes this scene in a perfect way … as do the 59 orgasmic sighs/text alerts of a phone (heart) and Sherlock’s nickname ‘the virgin’ ... given to him by Mr. Sex.

Back to the bees ...

Including a container for beehives into the very beginning of a story that looks suspiciously like a metaphor for the sexual awekening of Sherlock Holmes, shot at a place which has a great resembalnce to the South Downs, is indeed a very interesting filming choice. Bees are strongly linked to the retirement of Sherlock Holmes and therefore to the end of the story. 

Thus, the addition of bees into the boomerang case, creates a full circle and links the end of the story, the retirement of the original character Sherlock Holmes, to the sexual awakening of the same character at the beginning of ASIB in this modern adaptation. 

And it’s not the first END from canon, which is linked to a BEGINNING in Sherlock BBC. The famous quote “Good old Watson! You are the one fixed point in a changing age. There’s an east wind coming all the same …” from His Last Bow, chronologically the last of the original Sherlock Holmes stories, is taken up partly in the Unaired Pilot of Sherlock BBC, when Sherlock calls his brand new aquaintance, whom he knows at this point only for a couple of hours … “Good, old Dr. Watson” (X).

Bees and cars ….

ASIB - an unmoving car, next to a container of beehives, makes a loud, explosive noise and as a consequence causes the death of the distracted Hiker. The man is hit by the returning boomerang, his head bashed-in. 

TLD - A car moves at breakneck speed, to the strains of Beethoven’s Ode to Joy. It knocks over some bins before it releases a completely drugged Sherlock from its boot. The driver and owner of the car is Mrs. Martha Louise Hudson. According to Mrs. H. this car was financed by the income of her late husband Frank, who run a drug cartel in Florida and blew someones head off. Sherlock ensured his execution. As has been noticed by a lot of people very early on, the licence plate number contains the letters APIS. APIS is Latin for bee.

The only other person who dirves this car, also at breakneck speed, is John Watson when he comes to Sherlock’s aid in the same episode. And just like Jim Moriarty in TRF, who smashes a glass pane to get to the crown jewels, John’s weapon of choice to break into Sherlock’s room (’Am I the current king of England?') … is also a fire extinguisher.

ASIB - Another car plays an interesing role, most likely a HONDA ACCORD (see pic for comparison) which is strongly linked to the red ‘APIS’ Aston Martin from TLD. Linked by the cargo carried in its boot. It’s the first car of significance in ASIB and appears on screen prior to the boomerang case. The man found in its boot is dead. The biggest mystery though is … this man shouldn’t be there at all.

‘... according to the flight details, this man was checked in on board. Inside his coat he’s got a stub from his boarding pass, napkins from the flight, even one of those special biscuits. Here’s his passport stamped in Berlin Airport. So this man should have died in a plane crash in Germany yesterday but instead he’s in a car boot in Southwark’

Later, in the same episode, the plane crash in Dusseldorf, Germany, will turn out to be the rehearsal of the flight of the dead. The ‘maiden flight’ of ‘the dead’ never takes off though. Irene Adler is able to get to the relevant informations. She passes them on to Jim Moriarty and the criminal mastermind thwarts Mycroft’s ‘neat’ plan entirely. 

In TFP, nine episodes later, Sherlock himself becomes the pilot of the ‘flight of the sleeping’ and safely lands that plane.

Sherlock Holmes baffled ...

That’s the title John chooses for the unsolved case of the dead man in the boot of the car. This title refers to a short American silent film from 1900. It’s the earliest known film which shows ACDs detective character Sherlock Holmes on screen (X). Here John’s post reaches 1895 hits before it freezes. 

The case immediately afterwards is the one in the theatre where Sherlock takes the deerstalker hat from the prop room to disguise himself because of the press waiting outside. (Stalking the Deerstalker)

Then Phil’s car 'explodes’, the Hiker’s head gets bashed-in and Mycroft (RATIO) orders his brother to take on the 'sex case’.

Series Four of Sherlock BBC sets a lot of circles in motion which move backwards before closing. It’s very interesting and thrilling and it reminds me of the snake biting its tail … the ouroboros. :)  (X X)

A last afterthought regarding the three linked cars and where they come from: 

HONDA is a Japanese brand

SAAB is a Swedish brand

ASTON MARTIN is a British brand

Locations and directions seem to play a big role in Sherlock BBC … not to mention the EAST. Considering this, the first car is linked to the Far East, the second one comes from a place east of, but much closer to Britain and the last one is British. This reminds me of Anderson’s map, shown in MHR, and Sherlock’s supposed journey homewards, leading him from Tibet to India to Hamburg, the Netherlands and France. He travels back home from the East ... like John from Afghanistan …..

WJSN I haven’t even watched the mv, only the teaser but I know that it’s a damn summer bop and ever since Sistar disbanded I’ve been upset that there’s only 3 seasons left but then BAM! i will miss her curls. they should have given her a wig. and i agree, her hair in the game isn’t great either. still, in the end her eyes are more important to me so i’m mainly relieved to see them being violet. and oh my, i hate that they showed us that cheap wig all those months ago. stupid idea imo, no one needed to see that but yes, his hair looks fine now. i guess it all depends on how it looks in the actual show.. and i’m not a fan of the medaillon either. his armor looks a bit unworn? so stiff and clean

Some thoughts on the wonderful fan art to Frozen

I would like to start a slightly different topic about the movie and I hope I find your attention.

I find it absolutely amazing how many new self-painted pictures have been published since the release of the first leaked picture on a Russian Disney Promo movie calendar! Among them are many semi-professional to absolutely professional works of art arose, and in such a short time.

If we look at the number of pictures after the first leaked picture alone, there are about 100 very appealing works. When the Frozen II Teaser Tailer came out, it was more than twice as many ... and the quality has gone up again. Probably countless pictures from the little artists up to - let's say - 15 years, I have not took into account. If you take a look at Frozen's enormous collection of art work (part 1 and both shorts), we get more than 10,000 pictures! I know that because I'm active on Pinterest for years and have a very extensive collection of pictures respectively links there, well arranged in categories for the fans there (and myself, of course :-)).

But what always bothered me there is that the fans on their pinboards either do not collect enough pictures of Frozen (so maybe they are not real fans?) Or 50,000 on a single pinboard, so everyone sees right away, "Hey look at me, I am such a huge fan". But this is action without even thinking - pure collect and greedily grab off - because with pinboards of this size, every browser crashes and also the app before you reach the 4000. Regarding the quality of such giant pinboards and the number of duplicate or multiple stored images, you don't wanna talk about it.

I also noticed that most (or many) publish the pictures without links. The main thing seems to be when clicking on a pic it should be as big as possible, without detours on annoying websites and often enough without reference to the artist, often even with "mindless" comments provided. This means that no one gets to the source page of the image from where it actually came from!

At first, when I started, I also did not think much about it and just picked pics up, but by now I think completely different. The artist has the right to be respected and if he is so nice to make his works public for free, then we owe it to him/her by a link - or at least with a text hint with his name as a reference!

In the meantime, I have sorted out all doubles without a link in laborious, months-long detail work. For all of them, I found out more appropriately meaningful notes so that - if necessary - you'll find the origin thru a Google search and rigorously sorted by type and quality, even placed image series in sequence. The pictures of the Frozen making-of are sorted in folders by artist name and I even researched their websites when I did not know if it's the right pic. Of course, I'm will not done with that by a long shot, but I work on it almost every day ... yes, fan life can sometimes be hard :-)

But I have to say it very clearly again: these wonderfully talented artists (and fans!) And also the original Frozen artist crew (Making-Of) deserve the utmost respect!

The Difference with GCF in Saipan

Okay I need to talk about this because something extremely interesting came up. I suggest watching the video first and if possible re-reading the Director’s review on GCFs too made by @thebangtankaijuu. The post will make more sense that way. I also would like to thank her for allowing me to quote her post ^^

This is essentially me thinking out loud. I am in no way saying I am right or anything. I just have some thoughts and would love to hear your thoughts as well. I have no problem whatsoever if someone disagrees with me or thinks I am wrong. No bother at all just say it in a respectful manner and we’re good fam.

So I have quoted the video and review here first and talk more towards the end. Let’s just point out a few things first.

At 4:42 Pd says “Jungkook chose a very different path to go with”. This would be in agreement with what our director friend (Dr) has said in his review. He noted that this was completely different than his other works and almost as if there are 2 stories. One he wanted to tell and one he ended up telling.

“It looks like this time he has omitted the story line and focused on the cinematography instead. This is in stark contrast to the previous video he posted.“  - Dr

“First of all, I don’t think this is the video that he originally intended to post. When I saw the preview he released I thought he would be continuing the narrative of his very first video (GCFt). This product is completely different. Looking at the preview, it seems like he had already finished the pre-final cut and was working on the post production, which is when he took the clip and shared it to the views, as a ‘teaser’. Naturally one would believe that the full video would be focused on the narrative he indicated in the preview, so I am quite surprised to see this result instead.” - Dr

He mentioned the significance of the cinematography rather than story line or narrative. I think most of us can agree there wasn’t very much story line, it was a well put together bunch of clips.

So we have 2 professionals telling us that this video is different. Okay.

Why?

1. The colour grading was off, which is his signature and what he knows how to do best.

2. It lacked narrative which all his other videos had and focused on the cinematography instead. Yet still there was an error in that.

“Now with Jungkook the thing I see most is he experiments a lot with colour grading” - Pd

And he indeed does, he said this in his V live. “Other than my colour grading I don’t have my unique thing.” - Jk

“and the colour grading here is a little all over the place, but it’s consistent” - Pd

“So it looks like Jungkook coloured it based on the sky and he wanted to make the sky look as rich and blue and beautiful as possible. But in doing so in certain lighting conditions it looks like he probably didn’t adjust the levels because in certain lighting conditions it either looks too blue ( mentions J-Hope’s car scene)……because if you look at the opening scene with V his skin is a little bit too pink but then when you move to Jimin it’s not that pink anymore”

Now let me fill in that ….. up there. Because I think this is it. This is how Jungkook speaks to us. Through his art.

Firstly I just want to say Jungkook is artistic. Extremely artistic, and not only that he’s shy too. Jungkook most definitely speaks through the medium of art (the Dr even mentioned this in Osaka I believe) and the predominant ones being cover songs and GCF. This is how he gets across his emotions. That is where some of the pushing and pulling comes from with GCF. Some Army’s say it’s just his hobby and to stop reading into it, and there are the others, not specifically just shippers, but they are included who believe Jungkook is trying to convey a message, After all if Jungkook just wanted to edit for fun why edit the way he did. In the comeback show he even said he edits to recharge himself. It’s how he relaxes, it’s his passion. And from watching the video you can clearly see how detail oriented he is. This is very important. Jungkook is no fool. But I digress.

I want you to read this next paragraph very carefully because I think he hit the nail on the head.

“…Jungkook’s colour grading was probably based on the shot with Jimin when he’s outside on the beach, that outside beach shot is much more over exposed it’s brighter so when you bring that colour scale inside the car (referencing Hobi’s scene) it’s a lot different it’s a lot bluer it’s like a harsher teal whereas when they are on the beach the colour looks the most clean, right so I think Jungkook probably graded only one scene and then applied it to the entire sequence. Because if you look at the opening scene with V his skin is a little too pink then when you move to Jimin it’s not that pink anymore you still see slight hints of it.” - Pd

So the colour grading was already decided for the scenes based on Jimin. If he had edited the video with all members first don’t you think he would have made sure that the colur grading suited the whole video and not just Jimins scenes? Is this just another coinsidence? How many are we on now? Four million and twelve? Riiiight. Anyway.

“But given how quickly he busted this out I feel like it was a choice, a deliberate choice he probably didn’t have time to go to each individual different coloured clips and then colour graded accordingly because that would take a lot more time I don’t know exactly what his thought process was but when it comes to editing everything is done with a purpose so I’m sure he noticed that V was way too pink, that in certain scenes the colour grading is off , but in his mind there was some sort of trade off he had to make and I am interested to see what that exactly is.”

I am so shocked with this. Okay so we, the producer and the director thought that Jungkook had made a video just for Jimin like GCFt and it was done and finished. That is why he teased the GCFs clip. It makes complete sense for many reasons. Jimin had the whole first verse and pre-chours in that teaser which would just throw the whole video off if included all members. 27 seconds of one member in an OT7 video? With no b roll seen and no other shots than Jimin? It just doesn’t make sense. Out director friends goes into details about why he thought it would have been a Jimin centric video just like, if not a continuation of GCFt.

I believe Jungkook shot edited and finalized a GCF in Saipan for Jimin. I do. I believe he edited it to make the sky strikingly blue as the majority of the film would have been Jimin by the sea with the sky in the background.

However, for some reason after teasing Jimin in Saipan he puts out GCF in USA…odd timing I have to say and then not too long after posts Saipan.

Now what are we to make of this?

I have 2 reasons. 1. No tinfoil ver 2. Tinfoil ver

1) No tinfoil

Jungkook had not finished editing Saipan. He teased it because Namjoon had asked him on Twitter about that exact moment as he had a video and Jungkook just posted a clip of that moment that Namjoon was referring to.

Jungkook then just felt like putting out a more OT7 GCF maybe as a present to his hyungs or was in the mood. He couldn’t release GCFs yet because it had not come out. So he gave us this to pass the time. Or he just felt like putting it out no big deal. The package was then released and he saw it as a good opportunity to make another OT7 centric vid. Simple.

But things are rarely so simple in life.

Hell it’s never simple!

Now here is a *warning* the next segment is 100% tinfoil. It is my own personal opinion and if you disagree with some or all of it I have no problem whatsoever just tell me in a nice and respectful manner please because I genuinely love to hear different sides to things. We good? okay let’s continue…

2) Tinfoil

Jimin and Jungkook’s black and white performance was taken down and they were more than probably told the behind the scenes would not be shown. Essentially their work is gone. Namjoon also knows this so posts a vid of Jimin and Jungkook innocently playing as a small form of solidarity for them or a little nod to them. The behind the scenes were coming out at that time.

Jungkook then says a big fuck you to Bighit and posts the teaser of Jimin for nearly 30s of a 2 and a half minute video laughing his ass off and Jimin thrusting and shaking his booty.

Now I ADORE Tae. I am not an anti let me make that crystal clear.  I adore Kim Taehyung. I do find it odd though that once that was posted Tae flooded and I mean flooded the timeline with videos and pics for the next 2 days almost as if trying to push the teaser down the timeline. You cannot deny the fact that we got spammed fam. And coincidentally juuuuust after Jk posts that clip.

I think some staff thought it may have been too much, and may and I say may not for definite but maaaaaay have told Jungkook to release something non Jimin centric to calm it down and then release the same vid but with the other members to dilute the seriousness of that video.

I don’t think you understand. That song. THAT SONG. If Jungkook had posted a GCF in Saipan with JUST Jimin, there would not be any questioning anymore. He got away with it being a clip and throwing in b-roll like Dr mentioned.

The Dr even said he did not intend to put out USA and Pd said that Saipan was rushed due the colour grading.

“Now I cannot judge his character for certain, but all of his videos up until now have shown me that he is someone who narrates his story to the truest form. The production of the third video indicates that he may have half-assed it. Despite the 70/20 focus I mentioned, he did not want to put this out. I’m thinking he had this prepared beforehand and released it now for some reason. Comparatively, the first video remains, to me, his strongest narrative. He wanted to show that film to the world. The second one could also be said the same, more or less, but he was clearly happier then than now.” - Dr USA

So we have an expert saying USA did not want to be put out and 2 experts saying Saipan was rushed. This really fits with the covering up a mistake theory.

And you might ask what is the big deal? It was just a clip its not outting anyone. But you see we don’t officially know if they’re together. When you know or you believe that 2 ppl are together you notice things. Damn you notice everything and just go “OMG could they NOT BE SO LOUD LIKE AHHH glass closet approach much?”. But to others they don’t see any of that. Like, at all.

This teaser however was flat out dangerous. I have seen Taekook stans being converted and that was because of the edited version of GCFs. Imagine a whole video of Jimin with THAT SONG!!! GO AND RE READ THOSE LYRICS RIGHT NOW THAT IS AS BLATANT AS YOU CAN GET.

So it is my opinion that as a mini revenge or more likely a substitute for Black or White not being released Jungkook released a teaser to a Jimin centric GCF in Saipan he had already finished.

This was much more dangerous than he expected and he was told to put out something to calm the waters and then edit that particular video to dilute the situation and cover his tracks. That matches up with Dr and Pd comments also.

And in this video in order to get across what he wanted to say he left the colour grading matching Jimin. He left is signature matching Jimin  to let us know in his own way this is not the video I wanted to make, look closely thiiiis one is. By allowing Tae’s skin to be pink and Hobi to be too magenta he is indirectly telling us that these clips don’t belong in this video. These people don’t. It is really for Jimin.

Now you might ask “well what about Namjoon and Hobi at the end? The colour grading was fine for them? What’s that mean then?” Well firstly it’s midday so the lighting is perfect but also because Jimin was in that scene too. Evey scene that Jimin was in was coloured perfectly to match. Namjoon and Hobi just happened to be colour graded right because of the sun and the fact it was the same place as Jimin.

Jeon Jungkook is using his skills in editing and in particular colour grading to let us know he had intended a video for Jimin like GCF on Tokyo. He is so intelligent wow.

I’m going to be downright honest here: from a superficial review of my year, it seemed as if 2018 was my worst year yet. I have to remind myself that this is an annual sentiment, especially when I don’t sit down to truly evaluate the year that has passed. 

Beneath the suspicion of 2018′s goodness and wonder, I know how well I have been treated by whatever powers I still believe in. So here’s a monthly review to remind me of the good and the great:

JANUARY

passed the DCAT (AB-CAM)

started my last semester in UPIS (shet eto na talaga???)

FEBRUARY

received a notification about getting 500 likes on Tinder HAHAHAHA

Attended my cousin’s wedding (where I looked hella good heh)

In hindsight, the only thing I was missing in 2018 was an attitude of thanks. 2018 was a great year, but it took a bit of reflection to realize that. Shit happened. I learned more than I thought I could in a year. But despite (and because of) everything, I want to give thanks for every bit of good that I have been given the pleasure of experiencing in 2018.

This 2019, I start the year with an understanding that happiness is fleeting. It is a luxury I can only borrow and not own. This gives me hope that I may learn to love things as they are in my grasp and not try to keep what has already gone. I pray that I may learn to have joy beyond fleeting happiness. I pray that I may give thanks before it’s too late.

Happy New Year, self! You have yet to give back to the world. 😊

What is your favorite version out of all the teasers? (did I ask that already? have I been gone since before the last set came out? I don't remember... 😖) Are you ordering the album, and if you are, what version(s) are you going to get?

I wonder if the "kpop groups have found family vibes" thing and the "companies trying to make fans feel super close to their idols" thing are connected... in the modern age there are so many people who feel very isolated, and I think if you keep up with a group who treat each other like family, you start wanting those connections even more - then if you start feeling like you're a part of that little found family as well, you'll be really emotionally attached to the group, so I'm wondering if the companies understand that and are trying to make fans feel especially connected with the artists in order to create stronger loyalty. Maybe that's too much of a conspiracy theory though?

I actually dropped out of college after the pandemic started because I discovered that online class doesn't fit my learning style at all 😅 and I was thinking about getting a job but then everything was closed down, and now that things are opening back up here everyone who lost their job in the pandemic is clambering over each other to get employed again, so anywhere that's hiring is getting a huge influx of potential employees who are much more qualified than I am 😭 so I'm just living with my parents right now and waiting for the chance to actually do something... *sigh*

I wasn't a Fantasy yet during the corn product thing, but I heard that people wanted Zuho to leave the group or something because he wouldn't eat food he was horribly allergic to? Is that what it was? (and yeah corn is so good... I really loved tortilla chips before I found out that eating corn was one of the things that was making me feel so crappy 💔 I'm still looking for a good replacement 😔)

ooh the connection is definitely there and I don't think it'd be wrong to assume companies recognized it as something they can take advantage of, i wouldn't say it's a conspiracy 😂 they follow trends and observe what it is that draws & keeps fans. i also think stan culture revolves around loyalty in a sense like,, i feel like there's this idea that a true stan keeps up with everything and stands by their group thru everything. which isn't always bad but then there's those people who will defend their faves even when they're in the wrong 🙃
