———————————————————————
Eddie eventually got better and was released from the hospital a few days later, this time with a higher dose in his inhaler. He wasn’t allowed to lift or exert himself more than necessary, meaning Steve was left to care for the girls on his own. But he didn’t mind—as long as Eddie was getting better, then nothing else mattered.
A few months passed and, while proving more difficult than previous recoveries, Eddie’s lung was slowly healing. He still had to be careful when playing with his daughters, or how loud or fast he spoke when teaching, or even when him and Steve were having sex. He felt like he had to pay attention to every minute detail that revolved around him breathing more than usual.
One day, when Steve came home from work, he found Eddie relaxing on the couch with the girls. He plopped down next to him and showed him a text conversation between himself and Dustin.
“Go to the eye doctor, for fuck’s sake, Eds.”
“Never,” he mumbled while bringing the phone closer to his face.
“Never,” he mumbled while bringing the phone closer to his face.
“But something could be wrong with your brain. You know that,” he warned.
“My next doctor appointment is in a few weeks. I’ll bring it up, I promise.”
“Good. So, you wanna go?”
Dustin had invited Steve and Eddie to his twentieth wedding anniversary. Him and Suzie got hitched summer of ‘94—they had been together ever since and even had two kids, a boy (Ryan, fifteen) and a girl (Violet, twelve). However, this celebration was for adults only, including all of The Party, their partners, and of course their parents.
“I can’t believe it’s already been twenty years,” Eddie said. “But yeah, it’ll be fun to see everyone again. We’ll have to get someone to baby sit.”
“We’ll work it out.”
On the day of the party, the pair dropped the girls off with Wayne and promised they’d be home later that night. Before they knew it, they were off to see everyone. The celebration was being held at a local restaurant where they rented out the back half to be a little more private.
Steve and Eddie showed up, gift in hand, and arms wide open for everyone they hadn’t seen in ages. Steve immediately sought out Dustin, yelling a cheerful ‘Henderson!’ as he ran in for a hug.
“How are you man? I haven’t seen you in ages!” Steve asked.
“I’m good! The kids keep me busy. You?”
“More or less the same,” he chuckled.
“How’s Eddie doing?”
“He’s alright,” he sighed. “His memory has been a bit iffy lately, he’s using his inhaler more than usual, and he’s losing a lot of weight. Besides that, he’s good.”
“I’m sorry, man, I’m sure it’s not easy dealing with. You’ve been taking care of him for how many years now?”
“I mean, I haven’t been taking care of him nonstop, just whenever he’s hospitalized. Like, I took care of him the first year of our relationship, but he’s been better since rehab.”
“That’s good. How’re the girls?”
“Oh, they’re amazing.”
“Yeah? Junie finally came around to being a big sister?”
“Yeah,” Steve chuckled. “Her and Lucie get along really well.”
“That’s awesome. I’m happy for you, Steve.”
“Thanks, Henderson.”
“Oh, also did you hear the new legislation that’s up in the senate right now?”
“No, what is it?”
“If all goes well, gay marriage should be legal by the end of the year.”
“What…”
“Yeah, you really didn’t know?”
“No, I… holy shit, Ed!”
“Hmm?” He walked over, handing Steve a beer as he sipped on his water.
“Dustin says gay marriage should be legal by the end of the year.”
“What? Oh my god!” He started jumping up and down, curly hair bouncing in the wind.
“Ed,” Steve chuckled, holding him down by his shoulders.
“Sorry, but oh my god, Steve…” Eddie cupped his mouth and cried. “Holy shit, holy shit, will you marry me?” Steve and Dustin glared at him as he caught what he said. “Sorry, sorry, that just slipped out. Shit, no, I always had a way I wanted to do it, not–” Steve pulled him in for a kiss.
“Shut up,” Steve mumbled against his lips. “Of course I’ll marry you, stupid. Not like we’ve been together for twenty-two years and have two– well, nearly three kids or anything.”
“No, nothing serious at all. Totally spur of the moment.”
“Mhmm,” Steve smiled stupidly, “totally.”
“Wait, wait, wait, back it up. You guys are having a third baby?” Dustin gawked.
“Trying,” Steve sighed. “We’re on the waitlist again.”
“Do you have a name yet? You know, if it’s another newborn?”
“We don’t even know what we’d be getting,” Steve chuckled.
“Madeline if it’s a girl, Oliver if it’s a boy,” Eddie stated.
“How long have you had those in the queue?” Steve smiled and raised a brow.
“Ever since you told me you wanted five kids,” Eddie smirked.
“Im surprised you don’t want anything like Axel or Rose or–”
“Oh, trust me, he’s tried,” Steve said.
“Rosie is a cute name,” Eddie defended.
“Whatever you say, honey.”
By October, gay marriage had been legalized in Indiana, and they boys were scrambling to throw something together. They figured, after all this time, neither of them cared what the actual ceremony was, they just wanted it to happen. The day everything became legal, they rushed to get everything filed and in order, but apparently every other gay couple in Indiana had the same idea.
Once all their paperwork went through and they received their marriage license in the mail, they made an appointment for their actual wedding day at Hawkins Town Hall. The two wanted it to be as soon as possible, but the closest available date wasn’t until New Years Eve—they figured it was close enough and scheduled the date.
Eddie and Steve invited everyone close to them to a reception being held afterwards, while only inviting The Party to the actual ceremony (in addition to the girls, of course).
By November, they were selected by an expecting mother and awaiting the birth of their child, who was due in March of 2015. It was go time for the couple, prioritizing putting the new baby’s nursery together and informing their daughters of the new arrival.
By December, everything for the new baby was set up, their pre-marriage requirements were completed, and now they just had to wait. They relished in their final month of being considered legally single, and their final few months of only having two kids.
A few days before their ceremony, the boys were downstairs cuddling on the couch, long after putting the girls to bed. Eddie was resting on Steve, chest heaving more than normal.
“You feel okay?” Steve asked.
“Chests a bit tight,” Eddie admitted.
“Do you want your inhaler?”
“No, it’s fine. This has been happening lately. It’ll usually pass in like ten minutes. I promise, I’m okay. I’ve learned my lesson, Stevie, I’d tell you if I wasn’t feeling right.”
“Okay… I trust you, Eds.”
“Took ya long enough,” he teased.
“Listen, and the first time we met, I was told you bit into a fucking bat. Forgive me if it’s taken a while to trust you.”
“I can’t believe you actually thought I bit a bat,” Eddie chuckled hoarsely.
“I had no clue who you were! I didn’t know what kinda shit you did.” Eddie gasped and dramatically threw a hand over his chest, clutching at his heart.
“You didn’t know me? The Eddie Munson of Corroded Coffin?”
“I’m hate you and I’m going to bed,” Steve laughed, getting up from the couch.
“You love me and you’ll give me a kiss before heading up.”
“Mm, unfortunately.” Steve gently kissed Eddie before running his hand through his partner’s tangled locks. “I love you.”
“I love you too.”
“Don’t stay up too late. You have school in the morning.”
“Yeah, yeah, I know. I’ll be up soon.”
Eddie watched Steve ascend the stairs, admiring him from behind, as he often secretly did. He reclined on the couch as he flipped through the tv channels aimlessly, looking for something to pique his interest. Oddly enough, when he got to VH1, he saw his face.
He sat up on the couch, swinging his legs over to the floor, bracing his elbows on his knees. Without telling him, the entire band agreed to do a Where Are They Now special on Eddie. To be fair, none of them had heard from him since he left the band without a word after his diagnosis (taking the trademark name with him).
He watched his old bandmates trash talk him, saying how he was a dick for leaving without warning, taking the name with him, and falling off the face of the earth. Without realizing, his breathing picked up, slowly becoming more and more strenuous on him.
Suddenly, he felt a sharp pain in his chest, as if someone stabbed him from behind. He lurched forward, falling to the ground, gasping for air. Silent whimpers left his mouth, cries for help never making past his lips. He tried crawling towards the staircase, but the searing pain radiating across his body rendered him useless. Lifeless.
He hoped and prayed that someone, anyone, would walk down the stairs. God, he prayed that Lucie needed a glass of water, or Steve forgot to take his meds, or even something as stupid as June forgetting to put her lunchbox on the counter for Steve to fill.
But no one came.
The following morning, Steve was up bright and early, ready to start the day at five-thirty sharp. He sat up in bed, noticing Eddie was nowhere to be found. He threw on his glasses and headed down the hall to see if the girls were awake—maybe they all got an early start, he thought. However, he found the girls still sound asleep.
He ventured down the stairs, figuring Eddie fell asleep on the couch. Oh lord, he wished he fell asleep on the couch.
As he turned the corner, nothing could’ve prepared him for what he saw. His face fell as he saw Eddie on the floor, all the color drained from his skin, eyes lifeless, as he remained in a half-crawling, half-fetal position. Steve ran to him, immediately cradling his warm body in his arms. He let out an agonized scream as he held Eddie impossibly closer.
Steve cried, tears and drool dripping into Eddie’s curls. He garbled out gibberish, sobbing, pleading for Eddie to come back.
Steve knew it was too late.
His world crumbled around him. He didn’t know who he was anymore without Eddie.
He didn’t even known how much time had passed before he heard the front door jiggle open. He didn’t care enough to see who it was—it could’ve been burglars for all he cared. Take anything you want, just don’t hurt my girls, he’d say, nothing else matters.
“Steve?” Robin’s voice groggily said as she let herself in. “Steve? You there?” She made her way through the house, eventually finding him on the living room floor, clutching onto Eddie for dear life. “Christ, Nancy,” she hissed.
“What?” Nancy whispered.
“Go keep the girls upstairs. Distract them. I don’t care what you do. Just go. And call the M.E.”
“God, no…” she teared up.
“Yeah…” Robin sighed.
As Nancy ran upstairs, Robin slowly approached Steve. She knelt next to him, delicately resting a hand on his shoulder. Steve’s eyes were puffy, his nose was red and sore. He looked about as lifeless as Eddie.
“Steve… you need to let him go,” Robin choked out.
“We just needed to get married,” he whispered.
“What?”
“We have the house. We have the kids. We just needed to get married,” he sobbed. “It’s all he wanted.”
“Steve, he had you. I’m sure that was enough for him.”
“You don’t understand, Rob,” he whimpered. “Not even a month into dating, he said he wanted all these things with me. The first being wanting to live long–“ He cut himself off with a choked sob. “Live long enough to see us get married. He fought this for so long, and to fall short by two fucking days, it’s not fair!” Steve screamed, weeping into Eddie’s corpse.
“No, it’s not, but it happened. You need to let him go now, Stevie…”
“The girls haven’t said goodbye,” he sniffed.
“Okay, well,” she sighed, thinking of how to go about this. “They know something’s wrong. I mean, for god’s sake, they heard you screaming and called Nance and I. Steve, let them say goodbye to their dad before the medical examiner and their team get here. Please, for them.”
“I can’t let him go, Robin…”
“And you never will, but… god, I don’t know, Steve, you know I’m bad at this,” she sighed, rubbing his back. She embraced him in a side hug, placing a gentle kiss on his temple. “I’m sorry…”
With much hesitation, Nancy eventually told the girls what had happened and braced them for what they were about to see. She escorted them downstairs and into the living room where Steve was still holding his dearly departed husband.
He couldn’t muster up any words when he saw his girls. For the first time that morning, he let go of Eddie and held his girls close. They sobbed into his chest as they held onto their papa. Nancy and Robin left them there, holding the M.E. off when he finally arrived.
“A few more minutes… please,” Nancy said. “I’m a doctor, too, and it was an accidental death. AIDS related—a long time coming, if I’m being honest. Just… let them be for a bit.”
“Do you know the cause of death?” he asked.
“I’m assuming his stupid lung,” she sniffed, trying to hold in her tears. “He’s had a long history of tension pneumos. Wouldn’t surprise me if that’s what did it.”
“Thanks, I’ll look into it further. So, how long should I give them?”
“How long ya got?”
The next few days were a blur to Steve. Between the funeral arrangements and what would have been his wedding day, coming and going, he didn’t have a second to think. Yet, his mind was far from quiet.
When the funereal happened, he couldn’t remember what he, their friends, or even their daughters said. Everything faded into obscurity. Nothing, besides their girls, mattered anymore.
He took a bereavement leave from work, shortly followed by his preplanned paternity leave. He was having immense second doubts about fathering a third child, but he didn’t have the heart to tell the mother to find another set of parents. He didn’t have the heart to send a poor, undeserving newborn into foster care.
So, when that fateful date finally came, he was at the hospital with Robin, Nancy, and their girls. The two had been helping him out and trying to get him back on his feet, hyping him up for his third child.
The entire time, he could only think of Eddie. How he was missing this beautiful moment—the moment their family would’ve become whole. But now, a part of it would always be missing.
Sure, the new baby would have never known Eddie, but he would forever live on in the girls’ and Steve’s head.
“It’s a girl!” The doctor cheered, pulling Steve away from his thoughts.
The cord was cut, she was washed off, and promptly handed over to Steve. He hadn’t even realized he was crying as his new daughter was set gently into his arms.
“Oh, my god… hi,” he whispered. “Hi, little one…”
She was screaming her head off, Steve instinctively trying to coo her into a state of calmness.
“Oh, I know, it’s been a hard day,” he sighed.
“Do we have a name?” a CNA asked.
“I think so…” He looked to Robin for a nod of approval. Her eyes softened as she reassuringly ran her hand up and down his arm.
“So?”
“Madeline Edward Harrington…”

Headcanons from the nurse Steve series that I thought were cute but didn’t know how to work in:
- Eddie was artistic and designed all his tats himself. Steve got one of his bat drawings tattooed over his heart with Eddie’s signature as the wings’ details
- He started wearing the wedding bands they picked out—his on his finger and Eddie’s around his guitar pick chain.
- Eddie’s bandana is tied around the rear view mirror in their car
- Steve saved the last bottle of Eddie’s cologne, but always went out and got a fresh bottle to spray on Eddie’s side of the bed (but immediately noticing when they changed the formula)
- Steve begged Robin and Nancy to move into their guest house so he’d never be lonely, but they declined and said “you never are.”
- Steve and each of the girls have a quarter of Eddie’s ashes in urns in their room, so they each always have a piece of him (even Madeline)
- Their song was This Will Be Our Year by The Zombies
If anyone has any additional headcanons please comment them, I’d love to hear them 🥺🫶🏻 I hope you enjoyed, as gut wrenching as this may have been

okay I'm back bc I brainrotted so hard over the Mother animatic I decided to watch your old Ticking animatic and WOW I CAN REALLY SEE HOW MUCH YOU IMPROVED YOUR ART SINCE STARTING SEEKERS HOLY COW
but I did notice one thing - the shot of the Rookidee and the Mareep that transitions to sad human silhouettes
The Rookidee is CERTAINLY Junie... so who's the Mareep? At first I thought that maybe that was a beta version of Samir... but Samir isn't a human... so then... who's that Mareep???? Another future friend of Team Scarlet perhaps?????
AND THAT'S NOT EVEN GETTING INTO ALL OF THE LITTLE BACKSTORY THINGS TEASED IN THERE. LIKE LITTLE VAL AND TEENAGE MAGGIE AND AUGUST. HOLY CRAP I AM SO EXCITED TO LEARN MORE ABOUT THOSE.
in conclusion I am now very mentally ill over SoS and you will be paying for my therapy bills /j /j /j
Hahaha!!! Well, thank you! ^^ The Mother animatic didn’t get much traction but I’m pretty happy with how it came out, so I’m thrilled to hear you (and others) enjoy it and think it’s an improvement over my older work!
As for the mareep—you’re right, actually!!! :D That is beta Samir! Originally, they were a former human turned mareep. A lot changed between then and the actual writing of the Asra arc, though!
We should be touching on some of the Val and Maggie/August backstory in upcoming chapters, too. 👀 At least briefly!
Thanks again for dropping by to let me know how much you’re enjoying Seekers. :’) I will gladly accept the therapy bills, haha!!!

Y'know how when I drew this I said Hazel didn't know Jay was Toppat yet? Here's her figuring out! This is my longest fic yet I worked all morning on it
Notes: Takes place between FtC and CtM. Reginald's currently arrested and RHM's in a coma, Making Sven the current leader. The rocket hasn't been launched yet, But it's nearing its final stages.
Warnings: Gun violence, Gun injury, It's implied that a bunch of government soldiers were killed, Kinda open ending (Might eventually write a continuation though)
“After the disappearance of the Tunisian Diamond a year ago, The museum owners are finally ready to reveal their newest exhibit.” The news lady, Alice Hamilton spoke. “Archaeologists recently found a large topaz in a once forgotten Egyptian tomb. With it’s supposed age and the great condition it was found in, It’s said to be worth nearly 1 billion dollars-”
“HOLY SHIT!!” Jay was sitting in a dorm room eating a snack while watching this news story. He choked on their food and nearly fell off the bed, With Spot running over to make sure he was okay.”
Jay managed to swallow their food and looked over at their dog. “A billion dollars!? Are they serious!?” Spot only wagged his tail in response. “I need to get a better look at this! Maybe I can come up with a heist once I scope out the area. But how am I gonna get closer? The exhibit won’t be officially open for a while-”
Suddenly, Hazel excitedly came into the dorm. “Jay-Jay! I have the most exciting news ever!” Jay looked over at his girlfriend with a smile. “Really? Go on, Tell me!” “Well, Y’know how I wanted to someday cover a big news story?” She began bouncing in place. “Well, The Museum of Natural History and Culture called the news publishers I work with and asked for a private news story about the Egyptian Topaz, And they recommended me for the job!”
Jay ran over and hugged Hazel. “Oh my god, That’s amazing Juni! I’m so happy for you!” Hazel spun around in happiness while still holding Jay, Both now laughing. “They want me to go to the museum tomorrow for an interview with the museum owners.” She then blushed a bit. “So I was wondering, Would you like to come with me? We’ve both been really busy lately and I think it’d be fun to have a day where it’s just the two of us, Kinda like a date.”
Jay perked up at that. Not only would they be able to spend the day with Hazel, But he’d also be able to scope out the new exhibit. “I wouldn’t miss it for the world!” Hazel kissed Jay’s cheek a few times. “Thank you! Thank you! You’ve just made tomorrow the best day ever!”
Early that next morning, While Hazel was still asleep, Jay called Sven and made him aware that he would be scoping out the topaz exhibit with the hopes of being able to plan a future heist afterwards. Then they got ready for their day out.
Jay and Hazel soon went into the museum, Pointing out a few motorcycles that drove by. The two then went into the in progress Egyptian artifact exhibit, With the topaz being center stage. “Whoa…” Jay looked at it in awe. “It’s even more wonderful up close!” Hazel spoke before taking a picture. “It’s amazing how thousands of years haven’t affected its beauty!”
“I see you’re impressed too.” One of the museum owners walked over to them. “You must be Hazel Juniper, Our journalist for the day.” Hazel went over and shook his hand. “Right sir! I’m gonna be performing some interviews today, If that’s alright with you.” “Of course! I’ll be happy to answer any questions you have.” The owner smiled.
Hazel pulled out her signature notepad and began asking questions, Which the owner happily answered. Jay scoped out the exhibit room for about half an hour until he heard a sound. “Psst…” They looked over and saw Scottie outside of the exhibit room. Jay made sure Hazel and the owner weren’t paying attention before going over to them. “What’s up?”
“Meet me in the bathroom in five minutes.” Scottie whispered. “It’s urgent.” Jay looked back at Hazel before reluctantly nodding in agreement. “Alright. I hope this is important…”
Jay went back over to Hazel. “Hey, I’m gonna go look around the gift shop.” “Oh, Go right ahead. I’ll meet you there after I’m done.” Jay left as Hazel asked her last question. “So, Are you worried about criminals like the Toppat Clan stealing this topaz? It’s only been a year since the Tunisain Diamond was stolen.” She noticed a shift in the owner’s expression.
“Oh you don’t need to worry about that.” He waved the question off. “The security will be doubled by the time the exhibit is ready to open. Nobody will be stealing it.” Hazel wrote down some notes before glancing over at the restroom door and freezing.
She saw Scottie looking around before seeing her. They glared, Pointing two fingers at their eyes, Pointed them at her, and went into the restroom. Hazel remembered her last encounter with Scottie, Learning their role in the Toppat clan. She quickly cleared her throat and faced the museum owner again.
“Well, I think that’s all the questions I have for today. Thank you for your time.” “It was absolutely no problem.” The owner shook her hand. “And if you need me for any reason at all, Don’t be afraid to visit my office.” Hazel smiled and waved as he went back towards his office.
Once he left, She quickly put her notepad in her jacket and tightened her ponytail. “Sorry Jay… I’m afraid the gift shop will have to wait.” She went behind the topaz and crouched down, Effectively hiding herself. The Toppats were up to something, And she was gonna figure out what.
When Scottie entered the bathroom, They were surprised to already see Jay in there. “Huh, You’re a minute early.” “I didn’t wanna seem suspicious.” Jay explained. “Now what exactly did you want? I was spending time with my girlfriend.” “Y’know how you were hoping to plan a future heist after scoping the exhibit out? Well, That heist is gonna have to be now.”
“W-What!? But why!?” “Turns out the Cycle Punks already beat us here.” Scottie explained. “If we don’t get this topaz out now, They’re gonna get their grubby hands on it.” “But I can’t plan a heist on such short notice-” Jay began before Scottie interrupted. “Some other Toppats already came up with what to do on the outside. We just need confirmation on what to do once we get into the exhibit room.”
Jay thought for a second. “The topaz is guarded by plexiglass, So shattering it is out of the question. But if you can somehow bypass that, There’s an easy escape using the fire exit in the former Tunisian artifact exhibit room next door.”
“Perfect.” Scottie pulled out a communication device and spoke into it. “Make sure the security footage is hacked. Send Ulle in to deal with the guards. And make sure those Punks don’t even think about coming in!” They then hung up. “Now what?” Jay asked. “Now.” Scottie hummed. “We wait.”
Outside of the museum, Ulle stood at the entrance in casual clothing. She cleared her throat before walking in. “Hello ma’am.” A guard greeted her. “Is there any specific exhibit you’re interested in today?” “Oh! I was hoping to see the Egyptian artifact exhibit.” She answered with a smile. “We’re terribly sorry. But that exhibit won’t be open until next month. Perhaps we could show you some of our other fine exhibits?”
Ulle’s smile got toothier. “Actually, I’d like to sing a little song for you guys~”
Back in the restroom, Jay and Scottie waited patiently. After a few minutes, Ulle busted into the bathroom, Holding some trash bags. “I took care of the guards for you guys!” Jay looked at the bags in disgust. “Are they…” “Hm?” She looked at the bags she was holding and giggled. “Oh no no no! That would’ve been way too messy! I just sang them a little lullaby, Poor guys fell right asleep! The bags are for our clothes and weapons.”
She put the bags on the ground. Jay and Scottie looked in them and saw that their clothes and weapons were indeed in there. “Topbot and Burt should be taking care of the footage as we speak.” She hummed. “And the Cycle Punks are nowhere to be seen.” “Then that makes our job easier.” Scottie pulled a butcher knife from their bag. Jay just sighed, How was he gonna explain to Hazel where he ran off to..?
Speaking of Hazel, She was still hiding behind the topaz. She was beginning to get anxious, When were the Toppats gonna strike. As if on cue, Three people wearing top hats entered. Hazel quietly peeked out.
“Hey, Didn’t you say you were here with your girlfriend?” The one wearing a music note top hat asked. “Yeah, I saw her earlier.” The one wearing a chef hat/top hat combo muttered. “Where did she go?” “She probably just went to the gift shop.” The one wearing a purple top hat answered. “Don’t worry about her, Okay? She won’t get in the way.”
Hazel got a closer look at the one wearing the purple top hat and seemed to recognise them.
“Jay..!?”
As quickly as Hazel said that, A knife was thrown in her direction. She quickly avoided it, Causing it to hit the nearby wall. “I told you to never get involved with Toppat business again Juniper.” Scottie walked over and practically yanked her out of her hiding spot. “But you just couldn’t listen could you?”
“Hey, Leave her alone-” Jay then saw Hazel looking directly at him and froze. They couldn’t read her expression. Was it anger, shock, betrayal? He felt like a deer caught in the headlights, Unable to move, Unable to say anything.
Finally, Hazel was the first one to speak. “You’re… You’re a Toppat..?” Her voice threatened to break then and there. “H-How-”
And as if things couldn’t get any “better”, A sudden explosion blew a hole in the wall nearby. The group turned and saw three Cycle Punks enter through the hole
“We could’ve just walked in the fire exit y’know…” Erin muttered. “The explosion was more fun.” Punkhauser shrugged. “Nevermind that.” Tara huffed. “Let’s just grab the topaz before those Toppats-” She saw the small group already there. “Well… This is awkward…”
“When did you guys get here!?” Ulle gasped. “About two hours ago.” Erin shrugged. “Which means we were here first! That topaz is ours!” “Over our dead bodies!” Scottie growled before pulling out two butcher knives. “We did not come up with a heist on the spot just for you punks to ruin shit!”
Ulle and Scottie began arguing with the Cycle Punks (With Jay still too shocked to move and Hazel trying to get answers) and it was clear that a battle was about to start.
“FREEZE!!” The two groups froze hearing the sudden loud voice. A bunch of government soldiers busted into the room. “Attention all Toppats and Cycle Punks! You’re under arrest for the attempted robbery of the Egyptian Topaz!"
Tara and Scottie glanced at each other. “Temporary truce?” Tara asked. “Temporary truce.” Scottie nodded in agreement. Scottie pulled out their pepper grinder and Tara turned on the gauntlets on her hands, Which glowed pink. The two began attacking the soldiers, With both groups following suit.
Hazel quickly realized that she was in way over her head. So she grabbed Jay and hid back behind the topaz’s stand. Jay got over the shock of what just happened, But they began to hyperventilate. “Oh god, I’m so sorry! None of this was supposed to happen! I wanted to tell you, But I didn’t want you to be in danger and-”
Hazel carefully held Jay’s hands. “Hey hey, Take some deep breaths.” She guided Jay through some deep breathing. “Can you listen to me Jay?” Jay nodded, Tears falling down his face. “Alright. We can worry about all that later, Okay? Right now, We need to focus on getting out of here.” Hazel leaned Jay against her and began carefully walking towards the room’s exit.
Meanwhile, Ulle was using her Meteor Shower attack on several soldiers while Scottie shot at them with their pepper grinder. Tara was punching a few soldiers with her gauntlets before looking over at Scottie. “Hey, You’re doing pretty good!” Scottie blushed at the compliment. “Uh, Thanks. You’re doing good too.”
Out of the corner of their eye, They saw a bullet firing straight towards Tara. “LOOK OUT!!” Scottie ran right in front of her, Causing the bullet to hit their side, Falling onto the ground unconscious. “SCOTTIE!” Tara punched the soldier who fired at them before kneeling down to inspect the wound. “O-Oh god! Scottie, Please! You’ve gotta wake up!” She also looked over at Erin and Punkhauser, Who were beginning to struggle. “No no… This is really bad..!”
Ulle’s voice was beginning to strain from her attacks. Suddenly, A soldier hit her against a wall, Causing her head to bleed. “End of the line Toppat!” Ulle tried to sing, But her voice had died out from the usage. She shook as she realized she was completely cornered.
Jay and Hazel were almost at the exit when they were suddenly stopped by some soldiers. “Ma’am, We’re gonna need you to step away from that Toppat so we can take them into custody.” Hazel wrapped her arms around Jay. “You ain’t taking him anywhere!”
Jay looked around at the battle going on around them, Seeing that his friends were hurt, Seeing Hazel arguing with the soldiers. His head began to hurt, He couldn’t take it anymore.
Their eyes suddenly glowed blue. An explosion of fire escaped him, Causing both Hazel and the soldiers to be knocked back. The blue fox came out, Which Hazel looked at in awe. The fox threw the soldiers to the side before running towards the battle.
The fox was completely relentless. It first disposed of the soldiers attacking Erin and Punkhauser. It then jumped in front of Ulle and roared at the soldiers attacking her, Scaring them off. Finally, It breathed fire at the group of soldiers coming towards Scottie and Tara. Any remaining soldiers retreated, Not wanting to fight this terrifying new threat.
It was like watching a trainwreck, Hazel couldn’t look away from the chaos the blue fox was causing. She finally glanced over at Jay, Who was standing with an emotionless expression. She quickly stood up and ran over to them. “Jay! Are you alright!?” Jay didn’t answer, He kept the same expression with tears streaming down their face.
“J-Jay? C’mon, Snap out of it!” Tears fell down her face. Jay looked over at her, Voice echoing. “Hazel..?” His eyes stopped glowing and he nearly fell over. Hazel caught them and realized they fell unconscious. The blue fox disappeared shortly afterwards.
Tara and Ulle quickly leaned Scottie against them, Walking them towards where Jay and Hazel were. Erin and Punkhauser followed after. “Hazel, Are you okay?” Tara asked. “Y-Yeah I- Wait, You’re a Cycle Punk!?” Tara nervously laughed. “Y-yeah… Sorry…” “Nevermind, We can talk about that once we get back to our dorm! Right now, Jay passed out and Scottie got shot!”
“Ulle’s voice is completely fried too..” Tara added. “And that’s not even mentioning Erin and Punkhauser’s injuries…” “Hey, We’re fine!” Punkhauser insisted before wincing in pain. “Yeah… Completely fine…” Erin sarcastically replied.
Before the two girls could figure out what to do, A few Toppats suddenly entered the room, Sven being one of them. “What on earth-” He saw the completely destroyed room and injured people. “Herregud…”

The Saga of Billy Boy Prequel 2/2 - The Wedding and The Tragedy
Will isn't quite sure what to think of his potential new step family. One head can't stand them, but the other may have a second opinion. Read about the rest of Will's history in this shocking final prequel. If you need it, here is a masterpost with links to all parts of TSOBB.
TW: Mother death, death by car accident
- - - - -
I didn’t see my family again until Mom and Paul’s wedding. It was June after the end of my freshman year. Paul had proposed on Christmas. Apparently, the proposal was her only Christmas present, without a ring mind you. I managed to muster up an excuse not to make it home for Christmas, but once I heard the news, I knew there was no way I could skip this one.
Junior and Mikey were both in the wedding party, so the whole family was pretty busy doing their rounds. I spent most of my time sharing small talk with distant relatives I hadn’t seen in years. The nice thing about going to college is it gives you plenty to talk about when someone is prying into how your life is. I managed to avoid the men of my family while always trying to catch my mom without one of them. Finally, right as I saw Paul go into the bathroom, I saw Mom alone in a corner.
“Mom! You look incredible!” I said, walking up to her with my arms open for a hug.
Her face lights up as she swings her arms open to me. “Billy Boy! Oh, I’m so happy to finally see you!” She cries as she pulls me into an embrace. “I’m sorry, Will. I know you hate that name. The boys use it all the time and I keep telling them they have to stop but now even I slip up.” She spoke into my ear as we held our embrace; I could smell wine on her breathe and started to wonder how many glasses she drank. I may have been a little bothered by hearing the nickname, but I blamed the men much more than her. She continued “I’m just so happy to see you! The phone calls and texts are wonderful, but I want to see my baby in the flesh!” She slurred as she released from the embrace slightly to grab my face with her hands.
“Mom, you know how hard it is during school. It’s summer now, so I promise to visit more.” I lied while removing her hands from my face. I had no intention of returning home more frequently. I loved my mom just as much as she loved me, but I couldn’t deal with the thought of spending so much time around Paul, Junior, and Mikey.
And as if manifested by thought, Paul came walking up from the bathroom. “Hey, Paul! Congratulations on the wedding!” I said as fake cheerfully as I could, while extending a hand to shake his.
“Aww thank you, Billy Boy. You better not go in that bathroom, unless you want round two of thanksgiving.” Paul grabbed my hand with a wink. I held back a gag, as I gave him a firm shake and quickly pulled away.
“Will was just telling me about how he’s going to be visiting a lot more this summer.” My mom said, correcting him.
“Oh that’s great, Billy Boy!” Paul exclaimed without taking the hint. “You can come out running with us in the morning and then to the fishing spot. Fair warning though, Junior is always gassing it up. The boys like to wrestle at night, so I bet they’d pull you into it.”
That time it’s even harder to hold back the gag. “That sounds like a great time, Paul.” I mustered, putting no effort into pretending I meant it.
“Alright Ladies and Gentlemen!” The DJ announced over the speaker. “It’s time for the first dance!”
My mother lit up as Paul pretended  to care and led her to the center of the dance floor. I bit my lip as I realized I did what I came here to do. I talked to my mom. She would be busy the rest of the night talking to everyone else. I decided I would slip out while she was busy. As I exited the reception hall to the parking lot, I ran into Mikey and Junior smoking a joint.
“Billy Boy! I was afraid we wouldn’t get to see you!” Mikey exclaimed, in a mixture of evil excitement and heavy intoxication. “I know it’s not your wedding but I got you a present.” He said as he lifted his leg and grunted out a short fart. Junior laughed and gave him a high five.
“Uh oh, Mikey. I think we may have been shopping for Billy Boy at the same store.” Junior teased as he squatted down and released a long bassy fart. Both men laughed their heads off at their stupid boyish jokes.
“I’m so happy I didn’t leave without seeing you and receiving such wonderful presents,” I snapped sarcastically. “but now we have, so I’ll be going.” I walked to my car, not turning around as I heard another fart and laughing fit. I got into my car and actively ignored the semi I got in my pants from the interaction. I drove the long drive to the apartment I got since the dorms were closed during summer.
As expected, I made no other trips to see my mom that summer. She pestered me about it constantly when we talked, but I always insisted I would as soon as I could. I hated lying to her, but even the brief interactions I had with the men of the family at the wedding confirmed that I needed to stay far away from there.
And once summer was over, it was easy to avoid the trips. Mom knew school kept me busy. I even managed to come up with an excuse to miss Thanksgiving. But I knew that meant I couldn’t miss Christmas. I promised her I would come home for it, and for once I meant it.
When the day arrived, I was extra reluctant to get there. I hadn’t heard from my mom in two days. I know that may sound normal, but she and I talked practically every day. The last time we’d spoken, she told me she was going to the park. I was guessing she did something to break her phone, and since none of the men in the family have my number, she couldn’t reach out when she got a new one. I’d have hated to imagine anything worse happening.
I pulled into my mom’s house, but I noticed her car wasn’t there, only Paul’s truck. I resented that I wouldn’t be able to see Mom immediately, but I supposed she must be home soon. I parked my car and walked into the house. “Hello? Paul?” I called out.
“In the living room.” I heard Paul call. I went into the living room and found him sitting in the chair angled toward the couch. He had a solemn look on his face. “Have a seat, Will.”
I did as he said and sat down on the couch. “Hey Paul. Where’s Mom?” I asked, not caring to engage in small talk before getting to the point.
“That’s actually what I needed to talk to you about. You see… There's been an accident.” Paul said, looking down. “Two nights ago, your mother had a little too much wine, and decided the weather was perfect for a walk in the park.” Paul paused, rubbing his head to prepare himself to tell the end of the story. “She got in her car to go to the park, but before she got there, she ran off the road and right into a tree…” Paul covered his face with his hands and took a deep breath before removing them and looking at me with dry eyes. “She didn’t make it.”
I stared at Paul with my mouth agape as tears filled in my eyes. I had no words.
“I tried to tell you sooner, but we had no idea how to contact you. Your mother’s phone flew out the window during the crash off the nearby cliff and we haven’t been able to find it. I hope you can forgive me for missing her funeral.” Paul subtly dropped, as I suddenly found words after all.
“You’ve held the funeral services already? Without even contacting me?” I spat looking up at him.
“I knew exactly what she would want given the circumstances. A Christmas Eve Candlelight service. Just like the ones she goes to every year. Given how sudden it was, there was a lot to do to give her what she deserved.” Paul explained.
“She would have wanted to have her whole family there! Not missing the son she spent the last year of her life missing!” I yelled at Paul, who seemed far too okay with having left me out.
“There was no way to contact you. I knew you would be home today and I would break the news. This is hard for all of us.” With that, Paul got out of the chair and walked over to the couch to sit next to me. He put his arm on my back, and started rubbing my shoulder. Despite everything, my body couldn’t deny the physical comfort of his touch with how miserable I felt. “I know how awful you’re feeling now, but we can work through this together. Why don’t you stay the night tonight and we can all go through her things tomorrow so you can pick out what you want to take home with you?” Paul volunteered.
As much as I’ve avoided this place because of these men, I had a feeling the mood would be a bit different today given the circumstances. I also couldn’t imagine driving all the way home after news like this. “Yeah, I think that sounds like a nice idea.” I replied looking up at him with the closest thing I've ever given him to a real smile.
“Great. I think I’m going to lay down now. The boys haven’t really left their rooms today. Your old room is available and feel free to eat something in the kitchen if you need to.” Paul offered. I’d never seen him be so polite. He must be taking Mom’s death pretty hard himself.
“Thank you, Paul. I appreciate it. Goodnight” I replied.
“Goodnight, Billy Boy.” Paul said. Almost as if Mom had possessed him, the ‘Billy Boy’ actually felt affectionate, not out of malice or teasing. He entered the master bedroom and closed the door behind him.
I decided to make a sandwich. I ate it quickly in the kitchen and then went to the bedroom. I took my clothes off and laid them across the end of the bed, since I would have to wear them tomorrow without having planned to stay the night. I slowly drifted away thinking about how first thing in the morning I’d get started going through Mom’s things.
- - - - -
I dreamt it was morning in the bedroom, but the covers on the bed were gone. My arms and legs were tied up to each corner of the bed. I noticed an awful smell of farts in the air and as I looked around, I found Junior and Paul standing next to the bed in their underwear.
And as I slowly blinked my eyes several times, I realized this was no dream at all…
“Wakey, wakey Billy Boy.” Paul sneered. He took a seat on the bed. “Now that we’ve all had the night to mourn the loss of your wonderful mother, I think it’s time we look at the bright side of things.” Paul said as he started to caress my leg. “You don’t have to pretend anymore, Billy Boy.”
I hated the way he was talking to me. And I hated how exposed I felt tied up to the bed with nothing to cover my nearly naked body. Not to mention I had no idea where this was coming from. “What are you talking about?”
“Junior, tell Billy Boy what you told me.” Paul motioned.
“When Mikey and I were cracking fart jokes at you at the wedding, I saw your pecker twitch in your pants. And then you ran out of there quickly! You always seem lost around us and I think you’re one of those piggy boys into stuff like that.” Junior explained. I couldn’t read his opinion on the matter but I was blown away by what I was hearing. I barely gave myself the capacity to consider how I felt about the dreams I’d been having about farts. Suddenly these disgusting assholes seem convinced I love it.
Paul leaned closer to look me in the face. “I thought it myself the first time I met you. I’ve met my fair share in the day and I just get a feeling. I saw you staring at my ass the whole time I was crop dusting you at Thanksgiving and I knew I must be right. But we don’t say this to frighten you.” Paul started to explain as he rubbed my shoulder just like he did on the couch last night.
“The atrocious gas that Junior inherited from his mother has this house smelling awful all the time. A piggy like you would be great to have around to sniff up his farts. You could drop out of school and move back in here. You wouldn’t have to work, and we’d provide all the food you need, given you help out with the cooking. You’d also be expected to take over the house duties your mom had done previously. But we are giving you the choice.” Paul finished.
“If I have a choice, then why am I tied up?” I replied.
“Well we were worried you would be opposed to the trial run.” Paul said. “And with that, why don’t we go ahead and get it started. Junior, take a seat.” Paul commanded as he got up to sit back at my legs, resting his hand on my inner thigh.
I realized too late what was going on as Junior got up on the bed and put his legs across me, slowly crouching his ass onto my face. My eyes widened as my nose was wedged between his cheeks.
“Do your best to breathe it in as much as possible.” Paul said, as he started to lightly rub my inner thigh. “The better you do, the shorter the trial will be.”
Before I was able to even process his command, Junior grunted and became the first man to ever fart on my face.
- - - - -
I was under Junior’s ass for about 15 minutes. It felt like an eternity. As soon as it was over, I told them I wasn’t interested. They untied me and I grabbed my things and immediately made my way out of their lives forever. I couldn’t believe what had happened. I drove with no music playing the entire way home and immediately got in the shower. For about ten minutes, I just stood there under the running water, feeling it wash over me. It was never going to be enough. I spent another ten minutes washing off with soap, but decided I could only stand the heat so much longer. I shut off the shower, noting to myself I wanted another before I went to bed tonight.
I dried off and laid on my bed. I couldn’t get that morning out of my head. There wasn’t any denying it anymore. I was into farts.
But I couldn’t imagine agreeing to something like they proposed. Even if I thought farts are hot, it’s not like I’d ever want to throw my entire life away to live in sexual bliss.  Life was about more than just sex. I decided then I’d always be careful how far I let myself go into fart kink play if I found other interested men.
Laying on my bed, I fell into a nap. I dreamt about the morning, but in the dream I agreed to the arrangement. I was tied up to Junior’s ass and followed him around the house, as he ripped ass in my face and laughed about it. When I awoke from the dream, I realized that morning was going to haunt me for a long time.
I decided if I came to terms with my new kink, I might as well find something else to get off on. God knew I didn’t want to fantasize about that morning, as tempting as it might have been. It didn’t take me long to find loads of fart videos and stories.
I never went back to my parent’s old house. I never even went back to the town I grew up in. There was nothing for me there. The life I built here was worlds better than my childhood from the start. I got a call from the police three months later to learn my mom’s death had been no accident. Paul, Junior, and Mikey had staged it to look that way. They told me the three of them were going to prison. I sighed a breath of relief as I realized I really would never have to see any of them again.
I met Clay my senior year of college on Grindr. I told him the truth about my parents, that they had both passed away, but lied that I was an only child and said nothing about Paul or Junior. There was no point in sharing that part of my past.
I did share with Clay my fart fetish after the first time he farted in front of me. He had farted by accident and felt embarrassed, so I told him matter of factly to make him feel better. But I also had been wanting to share it with him. We had been seeing each other exclusively for about a month and I felt like I could trust him not to be grossed out. And I was right. He didn’t seem fazed by it at all, and was actually flattered I was comfortable being that vulnerable with him. At first, he was amused by the kink and started to fart more around me and teased me. But as he became used to it, he became more neutral toward the idea. That was when we decided to become open.
I started my job at the firm right out of college. While I didn’t love having an asshole for a boss, the pay was good and the work was tolerable. Between that and getting ready to move in with Clay, I was as happy as could be. I was excited for the life that was waiting for me.
I had no idea Paul wouldn’t be the only cruel man to see an opportunity in me. And I had no idea on the day I denied the life Paul offered that I would still someday find myself trapped in such a life.

Impromptu Encore | Junis
Featuring: Juniper & Chris Grimaldi; mentions of Atlas & the newest Baby Grimaldi Location: Hirschfield Theatre & Mount Sinai Hospital; NYC, NY Time Frame: Evening/Nighttime, July 7, 2023 Notes: Baby Grimaldi is heeeeeeere!
Juniper
Juniper had been sitting front row, just as they had been on opening night for Moulin Rouge. Their pride for Chris ran deep and they knew he'd dedicated so much of his time, energy and talent into his time on Broadway. Getting to watch him perform as Christian one more time felt as special as watching the preview, and equally special to watching his opening night performance. Unlike the previous two times that they'd seen the show, however, Juni had been to term in her pregnancy. Sitting through the full production was more of a struggle his time; during the intermission, she'd desperately needed to stand and to pee, and throughout both halves, her lower back was progressively aching. While she wasn't one to openly complain often, she was growing uncomfortable and found herself getting a bit antsy, ready for the curtain call.
Oh, how she needed to stand up again. And pee again.
She could make it through the end of the show. She would. Juniper was determined. She wouldn't get distracted by the lower back aches or the pressure on her bladder. Or how huge she currently felt in the theatre seat. Nope.
Chris
There was something truly electric about performing onstage - there truly was nothing like it. Chris really hadn't expected it to be such a difference compared to working on a set, but he couldn't help but wonder at the difference. It was another standing ovation - something that motivated him to truly leave it all on the stage each night. It was exhausting and yet invigorating. It took so much from him, and yet gave him more in return. And as they left the stage, a familiar happy exhaustion started to sink in as he made his way towards his dressing room.
He stretched as he walked into the room, before shooting Juni a text asking if they were going to come backstage or if he should meet them at the penthouse. He needed a cup of tea before he left - sneaking out the front because it was too hard to get out the stage door. As much as he wanted to meet the fans,  he was tired. He tried to go out as much as he could, but it was always extra hours to his night and he just wasn't up for it tonight.
"Hey, Laney!" he called out the door to the stage manager, who he knew would be by his room, "I'm not sure if Juni is coming back tonight, but can you make sure she's not mobbed if she does come back?"
Juniper
When the end of the show arrived, Juniper practically felt the relief ready to propel them out of their front row seat. They applauded with the other audience members and watched as the curtain call began. A wince crossed their face but Juni chalked it up to Thumper trying to play some soccer in the cramped space, but they pushed through the feeling and glanced to their side as others around began rising from their chairs for a standing ovation.
Oh, thank goodness! she thought to herself and used the arm rests to heave herself up to her feet. By the time she'd found her balance and began joining the rest of the audience in applauding the cast, Juni felt a steady trickle running down her bare inner thigh from under the dress she'd been wearing that night. Freezing mid-clap, Juni lowered her now panic-stricken look to her bump, knowing full well that she couldn't see past her very round, protruding belly.
Reaching back to their chair for their bag as the curtain closed and the theatre lights came up, Juniper picked the item up and began the slow waddle from the front row, all the while whispering, "Crap, crap, crap, crap!" to themself. The trickling continued and while their initial thought had been that they'd peed on themself, Juni was now convinced that their water had broken. They pulled their phone out, seeing Chris's text and, while starting to make their way to them, they started to text him back, "911 My water broke." only to tape and hold the 'backspace' key and say, "YES BUT MY WATER BROKE!!!" Followed by, "I'm leaking everywhere😭😭😭😭"
Unfortunately, being in the front row also meant it wasn't easy to get out of the theatre where its main entrance/exit was at the back, leaving them stuck behind several hundred people. Juni gripped their purse through a light contraction while sending a third text to their husband, "SOS still in the main aisle😭"
Chris
The moment that Chris read Juni's texts part of him couldn't help but chuckle at their saying that they were leaking everywhere. But even then, it was enough for him to spring into action. First - he sent one of the crew members to go rescue Juni, and then he quickly changed and had was vigioursly rubbing a makeup wipe on his face to get the basics of it off so they could make it to the hospital.
"I sent someone to come get you and bring you backstage," Chris texted them, "and I'll call us a car to get us to the hospital and text Atlas' sitter to let them know what's going on."
Juniper
Juniper was trying hard not to actually cry. But they were in labor, their water had broken, and they were in the middle of a Broadway theatre. Because of course they were in the middle of a Broadway theatre whilst in labor with their water having broken. Heat from embarrassment was coloring their freckled face bright pink despite the lighting in the theatre. When their phone buzzed and they read Chris's text, they text him back, "Ok" and then dropped their phone into their bag with a wet sniff.
Dammit, they thought as tears began to form, because they couldn't stop themselves from crying. They'd been a living faucet their entire pregnancy and it'd only been worse during their last trimester. They'd cried for napping too long. They'd cried when Atlas did something especially cute. They'd even cried after sex once. It was embarrassing. Thankfully though, Juni had been rescued from the slow migrating crowd and soon enough, she'd been brought to the backstage area to be reunited with Chris. She'd wiped at her eyes with the back of her hands but they were already bloodshot and she'd been pouting at him by the time she'd seen him. "Hi," she said in between her pout.
Chris
Chris could only imagine that Juni was freaking out - he knew that the pregnancy had heightened their hormones enough that they were probably crying, and he felt bad that he couldn't get to Juni immediately. There would be too many people who wanted to stop him, and as much as he loved his fans, his wife always came first.
The stagehand was able to get Juni backstage quick enough, and Chris already had a car coming. He had thought about an ambulance, but there was no promise that they would be able to get there faster, and Chris figured that the car would at least be more comfortable.
"Hey you," Chris said, kissing Juni's forehead before wiping their eyes with his thumb, "How are you and Thumper doing?"
Juniper
Juniper softly smiled when Chris wiped their fresh forming tears away. "Thank you," they told them, certain that their face was very red. "I'm okay. Embarrassed mostly and I didn't think the pain I was feeling before had been contractions but now that my water's broken, it'll probably worsen." They took a breath from their rambling and lightly smiled, "And I think Thumper wanted an entertaining story for their arrival into the world."
They bowed their head a bit to be forehead to forehead with Chris for a moment and when they lifted their head again, Juniper had smiled a little more. "I'm sorry for all the texts. I know I was panicking but really, I'm okay, if a little bit uncomfortable." They bit down on their lip and glanced down at themself for emphasis, even though they couldn't see past their rounded stomach. "...And I'm sorry we're making a bit of a mess of your dressing room."
Chris
"Don't worry, you are not the first person's water to break in a theater, and you won't be the last. There's protocols for this sort of thing," Chris assured them, hoping that she would feel a little better. While he knew that it would leave the janitors with a little more work, they did have a protocol, and it wouldn't surprise them if they had already started cleaning in the theater.
"it's fine, you don't need to apologize," he assured her, looking down at his phone, "the car is a few minutes away if you want to start heading outside."
Juniper
Juniper's eyes widened a bit, "Really? I mean... it's that common?" she hadn't thought so but what did she know? But she listened to his words and let out a sigh, nodding, "Okay," while resting both hands on her lower back and taking a deep breath. She watched Chris and frowned a bit after his response to her apology. "Oh. Okay..." She drew another deep breath and turned to go, shortly after her arrival to the dressing room. Her legs were still wet from the water break and she was feeling the labor pain sink in. But she kept going and followed the backstage path until she was outside to wait for the car Chris spoke of that would take them to the hospital.
Chris
"I mean... I think so?" Chris guessed. He had heard of it happening before - like when Quiara Alegría Hudes had gone into labor right before a preview of In the Heights. So it clearly had to happen with audience members too. Nobody had seemed too surprised when he had mentioned it - more like they had to start whatever process they had in mind. "But it's nothing that you need to worry about, it'll all be taken care of," he assured Juni as Chris opened the car door for them
Juniper
Juni just nodded, not in the headspace or having serious interest in fixating on other active labor and water breakages in theatres at the moment. It was their own labor, embarrassment and discomfort that they were more focused on but they were doing their best to push past the latter two as best as possible. They gave Chris another nod while getting into the car, and then let out a sigh once settled into the seat. "Thank you," they told him, letting out a breath while holding their stomach. Having looked up the directions and approximate drive distance before, Juni knew that they would have about 20 minutes before getting to the hospital. "We wouldn't be able to get the go bag there," they realized about halfway there, mere seconds before a contraction started. "But that's okay, right? We can get those things later, can't we?"
Chris
"Yeah, of course we can. We can have Atlas' babysitter bring the bag when they bring Atlas to meet Thumper," Chris assured Juni, the go bag being one of the last things on his mind. "Or I can run out and get it while the two of you are sleeping. We got options, so we can just play it by ear," he smiled, giving Juni's hand a squeeze. "let's just hope that with how quick Thumper was to give a standing ovation that they'll have a quick entrance too."
Juniper
Again, Juni nodded some more and squeezed Chris's hand back--not letting go right away and having more of a grip than usual as the pain of the contraction swelled. She'd held her breath for a moment but reminded herself to breathe and blew the air out through slightly puckered lips. She didn't trust herself to speak intelligibly through the more painful contractions so she continued responding to Chris with some more nods for the time being. Her grip on his hand lessened with the passing of the contraction and she offered him a weak smile. "Yeah. That would be really nice. Although not too quick would be okay by me too." New York traffic was generally heinous but Juni was staying hopeful that her labor wasn't so far along yet that she'd be giving birth in the car. "I like the idea of the sitter bringing the bag when they bring Atlas though. Plus, I really don't want you to leave us unless you have to."
Chris
"Yeah, how about we don't come in the car," Chris jokingly said to Juni's bump - figuring that Thumper was going to come when they wanted, but the chances of it being this fast were slim. Especially since Atlas' birth wasn't that short he figured it would be about the same. As the car started and stopped, he kept his hand in Juni's - letting them squeeze when necessary and directing her through some breathing exercises. "It's not going to be that long now," he assured them as he saw the hospital down the block.
Juniper
Juniper gave a gentle chuckle and leaned over a little to rest their head on Chris's shoulder after the contraction passed. There was a bit of an anxious excitement despite the painful contraction intervals but Juni lifted their head when the hospital came into view. Letting out a small sigh of relief, they said, "Thank goodness." And sure enough from there, it had been something of whirlwind. Being ushered from the car tot he lobby, and then up to labor and delivery; a brief pause at the nurse's station before a nurse came out of nowhere with a wheelchair for Juni to sit in.
Before she knew it, Juniper was lying in a bed with a pale blue hospital gown, an IV taped to the back of her hand and monitors strapped across the largest part of her belly. The doctor was there, seated on a backless stool and had been checking for her dilation. "Well, you're seven centimeters, Juniper," the doctor announced, standing and removing the glove from her hand. "At the rate you're going, your baby will be here in the next few hours, possibly less. We'll keep monitoring you closely. I know your plan is to do this without medication and given that you only have three more centimeters to go, that shouldn't be an issue. It also frees you to do some walking but only if you're up for it. Just listen to your body and lean on your husband and our staff for support when you need something, okay?"
Juni nodded and the nurse gave Chris a quick smile and nod before exiting the room. Right away, Juni looked to Chris, "I'm not getting up to walk. Not right now. It feels so fast this time, but I'm ready to finally meet our little Thumper. Should we call our family and friends to let them know? Or wait until after they're here?"
Chris
Chris was surprised with how fast Juni was progressing, it felt so much faster than when Atlas had been born. He had always heard that second babies came faster, but he hadn't thought that it was going to be that different. But at the same time, there was some excitement  in getting to meet their second little one. The sooner the better. "Maybe let our parents know and everyone else can find out after?" Chris suggested, "I know that it's irrational but I don't want to accidentally miss things with Thumper deciding to make their apparance as fast as possible."

Juniper nodded, "I like that plan. And I'm sure they'll probably fill everyone else in." They reached for Chris's hand and gave a firm squeeze, smiling a little at him until another contraction started. The labor pains went for another two hours before the doctor let the couple know that Juni had been fully dilated and was ready to push. By that time, they were feeling the strong urge to and had been enduring through the pain, harsh breaths and occasional moans.
The doctor and nurses had prepared everything for the delivery and propped the back of Juni's bed up while situating her feet in the stirrups. One hand was gripping the bed, sheets and all while her other hand held her husband's. "This is it," she breathed, looking to Chris. Wisps of her hair were clinging to the sides of her face and beads of sweat collected across her forehead. But she felt as ready as she could be and proceeded to follow the doctor's coaching.
Chris
Chris did everything he could to help Juni through the labor - and was so proud to watch them go through it again. Truly, he knew that there was no way that he would have been able to do this once, let alone twice so close together that Chris was truly in awe.
As Juni was ready to push, Chris used his free hand to wipe some of the sweaty strands of hair off of their forehead, and ran through the breathing exercises that they had gone through hundreds of times. "You've got this," he assured Juni, "Thumper's almost here."
Juniper
Thankful for the support around them, especially Chris being there the entire time, Juniper pushed when instructed and took a break to try and breathe more steadily when able. It was a solid half hour of alternating between pushing and breaks before the doctor told them they could stop. Juni panted hard and opened their eyes in time to see the doctor place a newborn right on their chest, umbilical cord still attached, with the doctor wiping down the baby's back and head. At the same time that first cries came, the doctor told the couple, "You've got a baby girl!"
Chris
Chris smiled at he saw his daughter for the first time. "Hello little Nova, already here to be a drama queen?" he asked as he looked down at her, before giving Juni a kiss on the head. "I'm so proud of you."
Juniper
Juniper fell back against the bed while her hand instinctively went to a crying Nova on her back. "Nova, oh my goodness..." she breathed, more than teary-eyed in the moment. The nurse continued to clean the newborn baby and clamp the umbilical cord while the doctor continued tending to Juniper. Juni had looked up to Chris and smiled wearily, "Thank you."
While the nurse asked Chris about cutting the cord, the doctor coached Juni through the afterbirth and got her cleaned up from the labor. By the time the doctor and additional nurse had finished, the other nurse had taken Nova away to finish cleaning, diapering and returning her for skin-to-skin. Cradling Nova to her chest, Juni wiped away fresh tears and placed a feather-light kiss on top of her dark head of hair. "So you're the one who's been kicking around in my tummy all of this time, hm?" She whispered while running the back of her finger down the length of Nova's back, soothing her to soft coos. "Welcome to the world my little Thumper. We're so glad you're here."
With Nova's tiny body scrunched up to her front and a thin baby blanket draped across Nova's backside, Juniper looked to her husband, "Do you wanna hold her?"
Chris
Chris just took in the moment as he watched the doctors make sure that Nova was alright. 10 fingers, 10 toes, that was everything that he needed to know that she was alright. She was already making noises, her breathing was alright, and that meant that she was perfect. That Chris wouldn't have to worry. And as he cut the umbilical cord, he beamed as he saw Nova's chubby cheeks.
And while Juni truly got a chance to look at Nova, Chris snapped a picture - just to make sure that they would have it in the future.
"I would love to," Chris said, taking Nova who already seemed to be wiggling in his grasp. "How does she already have this much energy? I thought that she'd just pass out."
Juniper
Although Juniper saw Chris position his phone for a photo from her peripheral vision, she kept her focus primarily on Nova, gazing in awe at the tiny, cherub-cheeked newborn. And although she settled down from her initial cries, it didn't change that she was still so full of movement, tucking her little legs up underneath herself and moving her small fists about.
She carefully passed their newborn daughter to Chris and watched the two of them with an exhausted grin. "All of the time that she's been moving about in my tummy. Now that she's on the outside, she has even more room." She giggled a bit, "I have a feeling that she's going to hate being swaddled." Juniper was glad that the nurse hadn't swaddled her up and that it would allow for more of the skin-to-skin but she couldn't help thinking that Nova was glad about the lack of a swaddle too.
The doctor congratulated the couple and, while the nurses cleaned up the last bit from the delivery, she told Chris and Juniper, "We'll give you three some privacy. The nurse will come back a little later to weigh and measure her, but if you need anything before then, feel free to use the call button on your remote." She gestured to the remote control attached to the wall by a cord, but had currently been tucked in the bed between Juni and the rail.
Juniper thanked the doctor and nurses and then, when they were alone, she reached for Chris and asked, "Can I see your phone? I wanna take a picture of you and Nova."
Chris
"Yeah, I think so too," Chris chuckled. He could already imagine her little arms fighting the blanket and wiggling any time that she felt restrained. He could just imagine her energy, and her spunk, and was absolutely certain that Nova was going to be Atlas' opposite in every way.
But he was glad to see her personality, even if she was only minutes old, and his heart just grew in a way that he couldn't describe. He had felt it with Atlas when he was born, and then with Nova it felt like everything had doubled again.
"Yeah, here you go," he said, making sure that it was unlocked so Juni could easily take the picture, "you know, I think that she has my hair," he said, admiring his daughter once again.
Juniper
Juniper accepted the phone and held it take a few candid photos of Chris and Nova. She set the phone on top of her blanket and settled back in the bed with her head turned in the direction of her husband their newborn daughter. It was a sight to behold, truly and she fell in love all over again with Nova being there, like she first did with Chris while they were on the island, and again with Atlas before and after he was born. "I think she has more than your hair, tesoro." Her hair was thick, dark like Chris's, and plentiful for a newborn. But her restlessness was a trait she likened to Chris as well. And her very arrival on the heels of Chris's show was a funny coincidence to add to her favoring her dad.
With the labor and birth having passed, Juni was somewhere between thoroughly exhausted and wired about their newborn daughter. They wanted to stay awake and continue enjoying it all, and for a while, they did. But eventually, the heavy fatigue won out. Juni's eyelids grew heavy and at some point, they fell asleep watching Chris and Nova--a moment of pure bliss that they would treasure whether awake or in their dreams.

Juni is a tinkerer who decides to make a clockwork heart to save a young boy. Written for Full Steam Ahead, a Women + NB in STEM zine.
Thanks @fullsteamzine for having me! Leftover sales are now open, which can be found here. Be sure to also check this piece out here on AO3.
--
Juni is a woman who likes to tinker.
Clocks or machines—she doesn’t discriminate. Her days are spent with her head inside of cogs instead of the clouds, fingers stained black and brown, eternally slick with grease and grime. Her life is quiet and quaint, and she doesn’t quite dream of excitement, perfectly happy with her rosy cheeks smudged with lubricant instead.
At the end of a long day of learning how things work, she sits on her porch and watches the sun fall against the horizon. The sky is splashed with purples and pinks, and she sighs contently, fingers curled around a warm mug of tea.
There is one other thing that she loves to watch. A tiny boy, just a slip of a thing. Young little Yuan, the sickly son of her neighbor. He has not been dealt a good hand of cards. Born weak of the heart, though strong of the mind, he struggles through the day to do even the simplest of tasks.
But when he smiles at her, it's as wide as the bright sky. Juni’s heart soars as she returns the grin fondly, reaching out to ruffle his soft brown hair.
He does not have long, say the doctors, and Juni’s heart falters because where is the fairness in that?
One day, whilst enjoying a nice blend of jasmine and rose, the clock on her porch strikes the usual evening’s six o’clock. Tick, goes the second hand. Tick tick, it clicks as she watches it turn.
And then, Juni has an idea.
#
The issue with Yuan’s heart is that it doesn’t beat correctly.
So, Juni thinks, the answer is obvious: if it could beat like a clock, then it would function perfectly fine. Clockwork bits are used for plenty of things, so why can’t they be applied to the body? As long as the heart is kept properly wound and its cogs well-oiled, then it would beat for an eternity.
She is aware that the idea is absolutely absurd. On paper, it looks bad but when explained, it sounds even worse. Juni is a thinker, a woman of ideas but this just might be the wildest she’s ever thought.
Eventually, someone is intrigued and pays a visit to her shop, an old and cantankerous woman with a face split by a mean scowl; the stern sort that would govern children’s minds with sharp-handed wit.
“If you’re here to gawk and chide, then do me a favor and leave,” says Juni as she pours over her plans. She doesn’t look up from her drafting table, fingers curling deftly over straight rules, making marks.
“Gawk and chide?” The old woman scoffs, offended. “And to think I came here to offer my services.”
Juni pauses in her work, finally looking up. “And what can you possibly offer me?”
The woman’s face is craggy, lined heavily with age. She’s prim and proper, put together exceptionally well, and she leans ever-so-slightly on the folded parasol in her palm.
“I’ve heard of your idea for a clockwork heart, as well as your skill when it comes to mechanics. However, brilliant as you may be, your knowledge only lies with those screws and rusted cogs.”
“And so?” Juni regards her coolly, turning to lean against her table.
“And so, I am a doctor. I’m curious as to your plans and I think that together we just might make it work.” She doesn’t seem to be joking. She watches Juni back with a gaze as severe as a Sunday morning service.
Juni cocks her head to the side, raising an eyebrow. “A doctor?”
“Admittedly retired, but with plenty of free time.” The woman smooths out the wrinkles in her walking skirt. “So, can I see the drafts or not?”
Juni’s mouth curls into a smile as she steps to the side and motions to her work.
#
Hours, days, and weeks go into building a prototype.
Juni mulls through equations and dreams of numbers. She tinkers and fiddles with metals and mechanics. All the while, Agnes talks nonsense in her ears. The old woman was right, of course. Juni might know her clockworks but she knows nothing about veins and organs.
“The aorta—here—” Agnes points to her human schematics spread across the drafting table. “As long as the tubing is sturdy, we should be able to sew it and the other vessels together for adequate blood flow. Barring infection, the skin should heal around the metal decently enough.”
“Decently enough isn’t enough.”
Agnes blinks. “Have you forgotten the worst case is the only case at the moment?”
No, Juni hasn’t.
And so, the plans are set and a model is made. Juni starts on a miniature scale with pliers and tweezers and pocket watch parts. She solders and sands, and eventually, the mock-up is crafted.
“Is it crooked?” asks Agnes, her nose turned up stiff.
Yes, just a bit, but Juni polishes the tarnished metal. A crooked first try is better than no try at all.
The next goal is simpler, just a little bit. Get the pocket watch gears to turn cleanly. With a good and proper oil, they squeal against each other as they move and Juni lets out a heavy sigh of relief.
Tubings and gaskets, the construction of the artificial heart chamber; time goes by quicker than not. Juni and Agnes don’t sleep nearly enough, wholly engrossed in their labor of love.
The scientific process, thinks Juni, feeling marginally accomplished. Little by little is better than the alternative, which is worse.
#
It is only a matter of working out the kinks. At least, that’s what Juni tells herself with every experiment that seems to fail.
But then the rat lives to see a few weeks post-implantation and the cat fares far better, though it’s rather annoyed by the delicate heart. Better than expected, to the relief of Juni and Agnes.
“My life’s work, all down to this,” says Agnes one night. She pokes and prods at the cat, checking for any potential infection. All the cat does is yowl in return, entirely vexed.
“Is that a complaint?” asks Juni with a grin.
“Of course, not.” Agnes drops the cat’s paw and turns back to Juni. “Think of the future of medicine, think of what we’re doing for women! Men have come up with lesser ideas that the public clings to.”
Juni chuckles. “All these late nights—absolutely worth it.”
And Agnes, in rare form, smiles right back.
#
“It is risky,” says Agnes with her usual severity. “There is no use in lying, or sugarcoating the truth.”
Yuan’s mother smiles sadly, brushing her fingers through her boy’s hair. “Yes, well, as it stands there is nothing to lose, is there? Just do your best and give us a shred of hope.”
Juni assists in the surgery and nearly hurls when she sees the inside of the boy’s chest cavity.
“We’re on borrowed time,” says Agnes, watching as Juni holds her brilliantly built invention. The clockwork heart is sturdy in her hands despite its tarnished appearance and pilfered clock parts.
They nestle the heart into Yuan’s chest, connecting all the odds and ends.
“Well then,” says Agnes softly, nodding to the turnkey. “It’s now or never.”
Juni takes a deep breath as she winds the clock.
#
Years later, Juni sits on her porch as she does every night. It is Sunday, which means she’s paid a visit from her dear friend Agnes who does nothing but complain about the too-bitter tea and the lack of biscuits.
“A nice evening.”
Juni smiles from behind her teacup. “I bet that just aggravates you.” Agnes huffs but her mouth quirks into the barest of grins.
“Miss Juni!” A boy trips on the steps, barely catching himself in his haste. “Oh, and Miss Agnes.”
“Yuan,” says Agnes, back to her usual primness.
Yuan turns to Juni with a grin. He pulls at the chain around his neck, holding it aloft. “Can you wind me up?”
“Of course,” says Juni, slipping the chain from around his neck. Yuan pulls his shirt from his trousers, holding it up, and Juni slides the turnkey into the crown. She winds the clockwork heart up until the key doesn’t turn anymore.
She smiles when she hears the strong tick, tick, tick.

“I might as well catalog what I’m doing here… it feels like I’ve been stuck here for hours and I’ve tired my self out trying to kick the door in, and this place is just over all creepy.” *I said to my self as I scrounged up some blank papers and a pencil from one of the animators desks*
I began to write;
-My name is juniper, (juni for short.)
And when I see Joey I’m most likely going to kick his ass
I was once an intern in this studio, I was supposed to learn some skills from the animators with my time here. but all I ended up doing was chores and random tasks for every one.
Never once did I get to work on an actual animation project… no matter how many times I tried to show Joey I had the skill I just needed a chance to show my worth he would wave me off and have some thing “more important to do.” While the head animator at the time Henry stein wasn’t much help either, he was really busy constantly and the last thing I wanted was to get on the head animators bad side if I wanted any chance to go up into the animation field.
Eventually I got sick of waiting for my chance and quit.
3 years for nothing.
But Joey invited me here via letter to ask me to join in on a new project he’s working on. He was really Apologizing and saying he feels bad for never giving me a proper chance before. To be honest the only reason I came back was to see if she still worked here I wanted to see her again… I really missed her.
I came back to finally see if I could be part of an animated project. And out of curiosity. But… I’m beginning to think it was some sort of cruel prank since this place seems abandoned… I really should have brought my pocket knife with me… if feels like some one else has been through here. I found the ink machine Joey had installed, and for some reason it’s turned on. So this place can’t be abandoned. Or if it is, it clears my suspicion and proves that some one’s been through here. I think I’m going to wait by the locked exit door for a bit. Not like there’s any where else to go.

Heavy Talks-Juniper and Xavier  Time Frame: 8/23/2022 Location: Grimaldi Residence A/N: Xavier pays Juniper a visit and they have a heart-to-heart. Tagging: @juniwilson
Xavier:  It had been a rough couple of days and while he was happy to be back together with Raj and working on their relationship, he was still very much worried that happiness would be short-lived if he ends up in prison. There was so much that concerned him. How would Raj do this without him around? At least now that he was his husband, he'd have some sort of security but that didn't mean his and Amaya's mental well-being didn't worry him. Then there was the matter of his family and his closest friends. What about his career  and everything he's worked for to get this far? And the more he thought about it, the more he spiraled. Every time he revisited that day, he felt his chest would explode if he didn't ground himself. All he saw was the giant shift in his life in a matter of seconds and with all of that, he could still hear himself protest Juniper's arrest and picture their tear filled eyes. It was a giant mess and he hated himself for letting this happen to Juniper and while he sat in the car staring at his pink wedding band, he couldn't bring himself to focus on the good things. He knew he had to talk to Juni, tell them how sorry he genuinely was and just hug them for as long as he could. Finally, mustering up the confidence to get out of the car rental, he grabbed the weighted purple Octopus that smelled like lavender from the passenger seat and made his way to the Grimaldi home. He text them that he was outside and waited.
Juniper:  After getting back home from lunch with Raj, Juniper considered heading upstairs and taking a nap with Chris. Physical exhaust was catching up from the poor sleep over the past few nights, and the emotional exhaust had been mountainous. They didn't want to disturb Chris's sleep, knowing he needed it as much as they did. With Robin out working, Juniper waddled into the kitchen for their water bottle and ended up taking a seat in the living room with a soft sigh. Eevee had wandered in and wove between Juni's calves until she put her feet up. Just as she was getting ready to stretch out, however, she'd heard a knock on the door. She hadn't been expecting anyone and she doubted that Chris was either, so she wondered if something had happened with the security, or if they had something to tell Chris. Sitting up, Juni heaved themselves to their feet and waddled to the door, looking through the peephole and then stepped back, opening the door. "Hi, Xavier." They stepped to hug him and then drew back to say, "I'm not sure if you're here to see Chris, but he's asleep."
Xavier: Xavier looked at his watch after hugging Juniper and smiled. "No, I'm here to see you and I'm sorry to disturb you. I should have notified you I wanted to stop by. I was actually driving around--I never get to do that here in California. Mum rented a car and I took it and--" He cleared his throat and shook his head, a soft and embarrassed sigh escaping his lips. "I'm sorry, Jun. I just came by to give you this lil guy and I don't want to be long. I really just wanted to see you." He whispered. "I can't stop thinking about the protest and when I do get in that mindset, I can't help but think of you and all these thoughts kinda circle my mind and I think I really needed to make sure you'll be okay because I know that was terrifying...it definitely was for me."
Juniper:Juniper shook their head, "It's okay. I'm happy to see you. Relieved, actually." They then stepped aside so that Xavier could come in and then shut the front door behind them. They looked at what Xavier brought and felt the small sting of tears at the corners of their eyes but softly smiled. "It's so cute, Xavier," they replied with a sad smile, accepting the octopus. Right away, Juni could pick up the lavender scents and that made their smile less sad. "This is so thoughtful, than you so much!" They pulled him in for another hug and listened to what he said. Much of what he'd said had been Juni's own thoughts. "I... I was scared too, and I can't stop thinking about it either. And it's not just that for me." Juni took a deep breath and sighed it back out as she let Xavier go, leading him to the living room so that she could get off of her feet. "But seeing you is a huge relief right now."
Xavier: Happy for the hugs, Xavier accepted them and knew he'd want to continuously hug Juniper if he were given the chance. Something about going through such a traumatizing ordeal together had made him feel even closer to them. He noticed their eyes redden slightly but didn't make a comment. Instead, he rubbed Juniper's back and added, "It's weighted. It's a uh---like a stress plushie? An anxiety friend is what they call them. When you're feeling like your chest is crushing...just plop him on you." He offered her a small smile. He wasn't sure if Juni felt that way but that's how he had been feeling and if his good friend had an ounce of that, he had to help. Hearing that they were also scared and that there was more to that sentiment, made him frown. He followed them to the living room and sat on the couch across from them. "It's a relief for me. I think it's because we were so close all those hours. Like...I think we were each other's calm. I couldn't have gone through that alone and then we were taken away from each other. I can't explain it..." He shook his head and sighed before looking up at Juniper's face. "I don't want you stressing so close to your due date and I know that's easier said than done especially after everything that's happened but please use me as your sounding board. It's okay. We can't and shouldn't hold these things in...I'm here for you. Always, ok?"
Juniper: "That's really wonderful," Juniper replied, holding the octopus close and taking in the lavender aroma with a quiet, deep breath. And after she and Xavier were seated, she listened to him and gave a few small nods. "I wish that it was something we hadn’t gone through at all. But I know wishing won't change the past." She frowned  but and then looked to Xavier again, all the while fidgeting with the plush octopus tentacles. "I think I understand what you mean, for how you're feeling. I don't... I didn’t feel like I was being calm through all of that. But I was also fighting with myself not to completely fall apart. And I do think that I would have if I had been there alone." When he offered to listen to her as a means to alleviate stress, Juni cracked a sad smile. "When it comes to worrying about loved ones, you and Raj are so alike." Still fidgeting with the octopus plush, they said, "I actually just got back from lunch...or brunch with him. And I think I opened the flood gates on him to be honest. I told him how I'd been feeling around the arrest. How worried I've been about you, and the charges and the domino effect from it if they don't get dropped. And then the news about you and Raj getting married was surprising to me, and even though Raj had explained why you two did, I told him that i felt like ive missed a lot between you two over the past month.  And the 'why' for you two getting married hit me in a personal way I didn't expect." Juni took a deep breath and sighed, a little relieved that they had cried so much at the diner that they weren’t tearing up all over again now. "So, I... yeah... I-I...have been stressed."
Xavier:Xavier smiled softly watching Juniper with the octopus. Hopefully, it would help some but seeing the sadness behind those eyes made him feel terrible. "I wish that as well", he whispered and waited for Juniper to finish. He listened intently and kept his softened gaze on them and as he expected, Juniper had been feeling so much all at once and he understood well how overwhelming that becomes especially when you're the empath in the friend group and tend to hold it all in.  "I am so sorry this is happening and that you have been so stressed. I don't want you to be, of course. I just want you to focus on the baby and  being healthy but I know that is hard. You and I are similar to that. We take everyone's problems to heart. It's because you're a very good person, Junie. I know that thinking about the arrest and the domino effect is something that you can't simply stop just because someone tells you it isn't good for you but I'm going to tell you something my therapist constantly tells me and that is to focus on the things you have control over. And with that, don't spiral on the things you wish you had control over. It's damaging to yourself.  That goes for me too. As much as I keep spending time thinking about my future, I'm already doing the best I can to try to make sure this doesn't get worse. It's all I can do right now and your good vibes will help me, trust me." He smiled at Juniper.[1:00 AM]"I'm sorry that Raj and I have been so private. I think we're both still figuring it all out. The marriage part was a quick decision. Getting together came from us just trying to mend a lot of wounds. We're still not entirely there but at a better place. We've decided that we would feel better fixing everything while together. We hate being apart..." He sighed and stood up to sit beside Juniper and rub their back. "We're going to figure all of this out, Juni. All of it. And remember you're not alone, ok?"
Juniper: Juni shook their head, "Please don't apologize for you and Raj having privacy within your own relationship, no matter what the status of it is. I know it's not my business and it was selfish of me to feel out of the loop. I was just wanting to keep up so that I could best support you both. But I am really happy for you two continuing to figure things out for yourselves as a couple. Really. And I'm happy that no matter what might happen in the future, you two have that added security between the two of you."  They had said as much to Raj and it was just as true then as it was now. When Xavier moved to sit beside them, Juni leaned into Xavier's side. "Thank you, Xavier. Honestly, the last thing that I feel is alone and I really have all of you to thank for that--you, Raj, Chris, Thomas, Emma, Luna, my siblings, Matt, Isaac..." Juni took a deep breath and lowered their voice despite knowing that Chris was upstairs fast asleep. "I know I'll have to find a way to talk about this with Chris. I'm just not sure 'how' yet. But.. when Raj told me that you two got married so that you two wouldn't have to be denied access to one another if something were to ever happen to either of you... I realized right then that that's something I don't have right now with Chris. He has his star power and wealth, which I do not resent in any way. But I recognize that it could work in his favor in a lot of situations, if something were to happen to me. He has some of the best lawyers out there and because of them, I was let go. But what if it was the other way around? What if Chris had been arrested? Or what if he's hospitalized again? I don't have that sort of pull, and I don't have the rights to anything that would allow me to even see him." Juni gently pinched at one of the tentacles while they spoke. "I don't know how to bring this up without making Chris feel like I want to get married right away. I don't want that for him, especially or for us, but... I don't know."
Xavier: Xavier nodded when Juni spoke. He wasn't holding anything against them, instead, he understood it. They all shared a special bond and from what he had learned, Raj was just as beaten up from the break-up as he would. He still was, in fact, still healing from that. So much so that there were still doubts in his mind about a lot of things and he thought about how could he do any of it if he didn't have someone rallying beside him. He'd want to be there for Juniper too like he was now. "Thank you for being amazing. I don't know how things aligned so perfectly that we all became this little family but I wouldn't give it up for anything." He listened to them speak about why his marriage with Raj had affected them so much , he sighed. "It's very important you speak to him about it, yes. It's a lot to think about and something that I never thought I'd have to think about and I'm sure you didn't either. I think just be honest with him. You've been together long enough where you'll be able to do that and listen to one another and see what happens from that. I know it's a touch subject but we all have those to talk about. It will help a lot. I know that Raj and I have been having a lot of those tough talks lately and they can be draining but they're so important. So vital for our sanity, you know?"
Juniper: Juniper cracked a faint and brief smile at Xavier thanking them. It wasn't how they felt about themselves at the moment but they did want to be the best friend possible to those dearest to them. And after sharing what they were feeling about Xavier and Raj's marriage--more than the news itself--they listened to Xavier. Giving a small nod, Juni replied, "You're right. I know I should and I know it's something important. I'm just not sure how to go about it. I don't want to put it in Chris's head as though it's just always going to be on my mind, or make him feel like we need to hurry up and do it. If we get married someday, I want--... I hope it will be because we both love each other and want to be married to each other. Besides, he's been married twice before. He's admitted that he entered both marriages quickly and I don't think that's something he's aiming to do for a third time."
Xavier:  "Sometimes life surprises you." Xavier sighed. "I mean look at us now. I don't think he will take it as you pressuring him or anything like that. I think it'll definitely give him something to think about, give you both something to think about. It's just not so black and white but if it's something you're feeling and it's really in the front of your mind the way you're saying it is, it's really worth talking about." He took a deep breath and paused thinking about how he should take his own advice.  Hearing that Juniper hopes to get married for love someday really struck a chord within him. Raj had only done this for the accessibility in case either of them ended up in a situation where one needed information. Sure, they loved each other (They did, right?) but this wasn't in the cards for them. Not now. Not ever. They've never really talked about it outside of Raj saying marriage was contractual and not romantic. He cleared his throat and smiled at his friend. "I want you to marry for love too. And you're both already so in love. I just know that he will work this out with you. Your love is special. It'll withstand a talk this important."
Juniper: While considering all that Xavier was telling her, Juniper continued to pinch and twist at the tentacle. It was worth talking about and she knew that she wouldn't be able to avoid discussing it with Chris for very long, especially with the way it was so clearly affecting her. "Thank you, Xavier. I guess it would be easier to bring up if I already had some idea of how it might go. But... at the same time, I know that not every conversation he and I have will always be easy." It hadn't been suggested until recent years that Juniper might have some form of anxiety but she'd never gone for an official diagnosis. Plenty of the signs had been there though and it had been especially prevalent now through the past few days. "I'll talk to him though. Soon. I don't think it will be today though. He's just so exhausted with everything that's happened to and around him, and I really want him to get rest."
Xavier: He sat close to his friend, hoping he was some sort of comfort for them. Xavier knew that Juniper would feel a lot of the things he felt post arrest so he was glad they got the chance to talk. "Mm-hmm. I'll be rooting for you both and yeah when you're ready and there isn't so much stress surrounding you both. That's a great idea.. please just take it easy for you and for the baby. Again, I know that's easier said than done but maybe hugging this little guy will help you close your eyes tonight?" Xavier shook one of the tentacles as if it were a hand. "Take care of Juniper and the baby, you hear me?"
Juniper: Although Juniper knew that they needed to rest and relax as well, their mind hadn't allowed for much of a restful sleep, and neither had their body with the frequent late night trips to the bathroom and the baby being awake and moving at odd hours. Talking with Raj and now Xavier today had helped them in little but significant ways. "Thank you, Xavier. I know you two have a lot of filming to do this week, so... I'll give myself some time to calm down and really process, and then I'll talk to Chris." Seeing and hearing Xavier talk to the octopus made them smile a bit. "Thank you, Xavier." Tilting their head a little in a thoughtful manner, they said, "I should probably give this fella a name."
Xavier: "Good." Xavier smiled at Juniper, glad he got the chance to speak to them.  It actually helped him realize a few things he needed to talk to Raj about as well. "Oh, it's my pleasure." Xavier glanced at the octopus and smirked. "You should. Like...Mister Octavius or something."
Juniper: At some point, Juni had been leaning into Xavier's side while continuing to fiddle with a couple of the tentacles. But she quietly laughed a bit, "Mister Octavious?" Still grinning they said, "That sounds so adorably formal. What about Billy the Squid?
Xavier: "Billy the Squid! You like that, Bill?" He took one tentacle and waved it at Juniper. "Why, yes...." In his best American accent. That sounds dope, Juni." He chuckled. "He likes it. I think you've just adopted this octopus. my job here is done."
Juniper: Juniper's grin fell a little bit into a small, tired smile at Xavier's interaction with the octopus. "At least he's not offended by being referred to as a squid rather than an octopus. I'll keep thinking on a name." Moving an arm around Xavier's, they gave him a sideways hug, "Thank you for coming by and for bringing a smile to my face."
Xavier: Xavier could see the exhaustion on Juniper's face and he hoped it meant they'd get some sleep tonight. Leaning into their hug, he smiled and nodded at their words. "Anytime. That's what I'm here for. I'm going to get going before Raj starts wondering if I disappeared.  He's a worrier that one." He chuckled and pressed a kiss against their forehead. "Good night, Juni. Rest up, ok?"
Juniper: "I know. He told me he was worried about me," Juniper admitted with a sad smile. They closed their eyes for a moment and then opened them again as Xavier prepared to leave. "I will. Bed time's still a way's away for me, so... I'll try to take a nap down here or in the guest room so I don't wake Chris while he's resting." Juni then set the octopus aside on the couch and heaved themselves to their feet. "Let me at least walk you to the door."
Xavier: "Aw. He's a good egg." Xavier smiled at Juniper. "It's okay. We'll get through this together. And okay perfect!" Xavier stood up and made sure Juni was able to follow and walked toward the door. "Thanks for having me without notice. I'll see you guys soon, ok?" He gave them one last hug and waved before walking back to the car.

Happy Campers Precure Chapter Twenty-six: The Final Fight! Queen Eudoria’s Unrivaled Power!
Eudoria sat under a blossoming tree, watching the petals fall.
"Hey, Dori!" her sister, Juniper, ran up to her. She was holding a jump rope in one of her hands, and a ball in the other. "Wanna play?"
"No thank you, Juni." Eudoria said, politely. She knew that her sister knew about her natural weakness, caused by a sickness. Her sister seemed to forget it often, or maybe she just ignored it.
"Oh," Juniper replied, disappointed. She ran into the field in front of her, skipping rope alone.
"Why can't I just be like everyone else?" Eudoria asked to herself.
"I know, right?" Eudoria looked up to see a pale girl, who looked about her age.
"Are you frail as well?" The girl asked as she sat next to Eudoria.
"Yeah." Eudoria answered.
"What's your name?" The girl asked."I'm Charlotte!"
"Nice to meet you, Charlotte." Eudoria said, smiling. "I'm Eudoria."
"Like, the Princess Eudoria?!" Charlotte asked, composing herself. "I'm so sorry, your magesty-"
"You don't have to do that." Eudoria giggled. "Actually, instead of being like everyone else, you know what I want?"
Charlotte tilted her head. "What?"
"I want the world to be more accessible to us!" Eudoria exclaimed.
"I think pigs will fly before that happens." Charlotte said, sighing. "At this point, we might as well come up with our own kingdom!" She said, pulling out a piece of paper. "What would we call it?"
Eudoria's eyes widened, surprised from the question. "Umm, The Kingdom of Inside-ness?"
"That's lame, though." The girl laughed, still writing it down. "How about the Realm of- something?"
"Realm of Darkness? Since we're all inside?" Eudoria said again.
Charlotte wrote it down. "That sound evil."
"Ooh! I've got an actual idea!" Eudoria exclaimed.
"Spit it out, then."
"The Realm of Happiness!" Eudoria said, smiling contently.
"That has a good ring to it." Charlotte said. She crossed out the other options, writing it in large letters at the top. "Now, to actually design it!"
❤︎❤︎❤︎❤︎❤︎❤︎❤︎❤︎❤︎
Queen Eudoria looked at the girls, who were frozen in fear as she walked into the dungeon. She walked up to Fern, who backed up.
"Cure Fern, the one who's idiotic nature always gets in the way of your teammates." Queen Eudoria said as she directed her scepter to Fern. A swirl of dark mist came from it, tying up Fern like it was a ribbon. Fern tried to use her vines, but couldn't make them.
"How-?" Fern asked, squirming.
"Do you think I would let you use your magic?" Queen Eudoria smirked as she walked towards Luna.
Luna got into a fighting position, glaring at Eudoria. "Stay back!"
Queen Eudoria simply smiled at her. "Cure Luna, you never seem to give up on anything, even if it means your fall."
She pointed her scepter at Luna, who lunged for it. Eudoria stood in place, and the gray mist erupted from the scepter once again, tying up Luna.
Spirit pushed herself up, "Stop!" She fired a ball of light at her, but it evaporated the minute it made contact with the scepter. Queen Eudoria ignored her and walked up to Mariposa, who's legs were shaking.
Mariposa tried to kick Eudoria, but Eudoria blocked it. "Cure Mariposa, you pretend to be strong in front of me, but I know your true feelings." Mariposa didn't struggle as the mist went around her.
Anzu scowled, running up to Queen Eudoria. Spirit followed her, and the two fought against Eudoria. As Spirit fired balls at her from a distance, making sure to avoid the scepter, Anzu punched and kicked her, switching forms to avoid getting caught. As Anzu was in her bunny form, Eudoria kicked her.
Eudoria then picked her up. "Anzu, trying to fight in her worthless state." Anzu transformed back into her human form, punching Eudoria once more before she was tied up as well.
Spirit looked nervously at the others as Queen Eudoria strutted up to her. "Last, and very much least, Cure Spirit-"
"Shut up!" Spirit yelled, glaring at her.
"Though you are known as the leader, you never seem to be the one to direct the group."  Eudoria continued.
"I said, shut up!" Spirit punched Eudoria, but Eudoria grabbed her shaking hand. Queen Eudoria then let go, walking away and out of the dungeon.
"I need soldiers!" She yelled. Five soldier came up to her, and she pointed towards the dungeon. "Guard those four girls." She said, gesturing to the one's tied up.
"What about her?" One of the soldiers said, pointing towards Spirit.
"Leave her." Queen Eudoria ordered. "She can watch." She then walked even farther, and Spirit, after thinking, walked up to her.
She looked back at the dungeons, as the door closed. "If this helps them get out, I'll comply." Spirit thought as she followed the Queen.
Queen Eudoria stopped, walking up to a wall. It was adorned with many large jewels, except for the center, where one seemed to be missing. "Do you have any idea what this is?" She asked Spirit.
Spirit froze up, sweat forming on her forehead. "Something important?" She questioned. Queen Eudoria stared at her, and Spirit though, "Now I've done it,"
Queen Eudoria nodded, looking back at the wall. "Extremely important. It's a wall, which will give this kingdom permanent access to your world, the lovely Earth." She turned towards Spirit, who nodded. "If only my sister had not destroyed her own one of these, it would have been much easier." She raised her hands up in triumph. "But, we were eventually able to find them, giving my top soldiers access." She smiled a sickly smile. "Now, we have them all. She gestured towards a specific one on the wall. Even the one Adelaide used."
Spirit looked at the empty spot on the wall, wondering about it. Queen Eudoria looked at her face. "Yes, there is still one more component. The most important one, in fact."
As Spirit looked at the hole even closer, she realized what it was for. Covering her compass, she backed up. "Don't even attempt!" She blurted out. Queen Eudoria ran towards her, and Spirit jumped up into the air.
She grabbed onto a chandelier, getting on top of it and grabbing her wand. "Spirit Shot!" She yelled, flinging multiple balls of light at Eudoria. Eudoria blocked them using her scepter, and a swirl of mist came towards Spirit. Spirit used the chandelier to swing out of the way. The mist went around the chandelier instead. Eudoria pulled the mist using her scepter, causing the chandelier to fall.
She sprinted towards Eudoria and tried to grab the scepter out of her hands, failing. She jumped into the air again to avoid the scepter's attacks, sending more balls to Eudoria.
"You know, the more magic you use, the more power the compass gets." She walked towards the wall, dropping the scepter. "In fact, I bet it could power the door on its own!" She yelled, putting her hand in the hole the compass was supposed to go in.
The gems glowed, before shattering into millions of pieces. Spirit closed her eyes, blinded by the light. When she opened them, She saw a humanoid figure that was so big it barely fit into the room. It was covered head to toe with black fabric similar to the one on Queen Eudoria's dress. "Queen Eudoria?" She asked, looking at the figure in front of her.
In a deep voice, the Eudoria monster yelled, "Give me the compass!"
"Why are you even doing this?" Spirit asked, running so that Eudoria didn't grab her. "All because you and your sister had some arguement!?"
❤︎❤︎❤︎❤︎❤︎❤︎❤︎❤︎❤︎
"Now that you rule this place, are you going to do something about the rules we've always talked about?" Charlotte asked Eudoria, as Eudoria brushed her hair.
"Well, remember I'm not the only one ruling. Juniper has to agree to it, as well." Eudoria looked at the picture of her and her sister, hanging on the wall of her bedroom. "I don't know why she wouldn't agree, though."
"I guess," Charlotte shrugged. "I mean, we have so many people on our side, even people who just don't like the outdoors. She'll have to agree!"
Eudoria looked at the clock in her room and stood up. "It's time for dinner!" She ran to the door, "See you after!"
Charlotte waved, smiling."See you!"
Eudoria sat at the small but elegant table, across from her sister. "Um, Juniper, I wanted to suggest something, some improvements."
Juniper smiled, "Go on."
Eudoria sat straight in her chair, making sure she looked proffesional. "Well, I feel like there aren't enough accesibility measures for, well, people like me."
Juniper cleared her throat. "What do you mean? You can get everywhere easily, and we have nice places to sit..."
"Yes, but what are we supposed to do while sitting? I was always bored out of my mind when I was younger, becuase aeverything to do here is focused on moving."
"We have sketchbooks to draw in, though." Juniper said. "How many people are like you, anyways?"
"My friend Charlotte, and I, plus other people-"
"Who are these 'other people'?" Juniper questioned.
"I- I don't know." Eudoria admitted. "I haven't seen any, but I bet-"
"Are you sure this isn't just a request for you and your friend? You know, a queen musn't waste recources only for a few people, much less another queen."
Eudoria slammed her hands on the table. "You don't understand whatsoever!" She then stormed out of the room, leaving Juniper alone.
Eudoria ran up to her room, tears streaming down her face. She opened the door, much to Charlotte's suprise, rushing in. "It didn't work?" Charlotte asked gently. Eudoria shook her head, and Charlotte hugged her. "I'm sorry." She said, tears coming to her eyes.
"I'm sick of this." Eudoria said, wiping her tears. "We should just make the Realm of Happiness real!"
"Yeah!" Charlotte smiled.
"We need time to prepare, though." Eudoria said, pulling away from Charlotte. "How about a week?"
"Wait, seriously!" Charlotte jumped up. "I'll be ready, Eudoria!"
The week went by quickly, and Eudoria organized her plans. "One more day." She said to herself, gathering the items she would need.
She heard a knock on her door, and shoved the items under her bag. "Yes?"
Juniper opened the door, something wrapped with pink paper in her hands. "I know there isn't a special occasion coming up, but I got you this." Juniper explained. "I was thinking about your proposal nonstop, and I found a compromise."
She handed the object to Eudoria, who unwrapped it carefully. It was a scepter, complete with a giant silver orb in the center. "What do I do with this?" Eudoria asked, moving it around.
"It can grant wishes." Juniper explained. "Apparently, some royal enginners have been working on it for years. They did mention it has a limit, so be careful. After you use up the limit, the thing malfunctions. With this, you can get rid of your sickness, and Charlotte's!"
"Wow." Eudoria said. "Thank you, Juniper."
"Your welcome." Juniper said. "Don't forget the civilian check-up later!" Juniper closed Eudoria's door, and Eudoria smiled.
"This thing will make our plans way easier." She said to herself, opening the door and running out of the castle.
"Eudoria? Why are you here?" Charlotte asked as Eudoria panted at her doorsteps.
"I think we should move the starting to today." Eudoria answered.
"What?!"
"I know. That being said, I have something that will make it easier." She pulled out her scepter, explaining her plan.
"See you at the check-up!" Eudoria said, running back to the castle.
Eudoria and Juniper walked out onto the large balcony outlooking the entire village. Almost all of the residents were standing near it.
"Hello, residents of the Kingdom of Fun." Juniper started. "We would like to make some announcements about future projects, and the such-"
"Wait!" Eudoria yelled. "I, personally, have my own announcement to make."
"This wasn't what we planned-" Juniper whispered, but Eudoria ignored her.
"For years, I, and many other people, have been unable to enjoy themselves here. I am talking about, of course, people with sicknesses that make them weak and fatigued easily. I have had enough, and am making my own kingdom, called the Realm of Happiness! Everyone is welcome to come, if you are sick of this place. She pointed towards the left of the kingdom, where a large city suddenly appeared.
"In fact, I will use this very scepter to cure everyones illness!" She shouted. She then jumped off of the balcony and into the crowd, leading the people towards the Realm of Hapiness.
After everyone had settled in, she went onto the balcony of the newly formed, large castle. "Hello, my friends!"  She lifted the scepter into the air, causing everyone to cheer. "I aim to create a fair kingdom, where everyone has equal rights! This will start with me granting any wish your heart desires."
After the long day of work, Eudoria layed in her luxurious bed. Someone knocked on the door, and she sat up. "Come in!" She exclaimed. Charlotte opened the door, much to Eudoria's delight.
"Hey, Eudoria, now that we're alone, can you grant my wish?" Charlotte asked. Eudoria nodde, grabbing her scepter.
"What is it?"
"To get rid of my sickness, forever!" Charlotte exclaimed.
Eudoria nodded, closing her eyes. The scepter glowed, and Charlotte excitedly jumped. "Thank you! I've never felt this energized in my life! Anyways, I want to reveal some news."
Eudoria smiled, before hearing a loud, ear-piercing noise. The scepters silver glow turned into a black emptiness. "Huh?"
Charlotte ignored it, continuing. "Now that my sickness is cured, I think I'm going to move back to the other kingdom. My family all lives there, and I'd love to be closer to some of my other friends-"
"After all I did for you!" Eudoria yelled, clutching the scepter.
"Sorry, can you at least try to understand?" Charlotte asked.
Mist swirled out of the scepter, lifting Charlotte into the air. Charlotte squirmed and shrieked, tears coming to her eyes.
"You are not moving there!" Queen Eudoria yelled. "You will become my highest appointed soldier, and recuit everyone in this kingdom, under your own command. After training them to be as strong as possible, you will orchestrate an invasion, to gain even more soldiers. Only then, will you be able to live a wonderful life here. That is your punishment, do you understand?"
"Yes." Charlotte said, her voice shaking.
"Good. Then go!" Eudoria gestured to the door, where the mist pulled it open.
Charlotte walked towards it, turning towards Eudoria before leaving. "Who are you?"
❤︎❤︎❤︎❤︎❤︎❤︎❤︎❤︎❤︎ "Why?" Spirit repeated, looking at Eudoria's covered face.
"It was not just an arguement!" Eudoria bellowed, grabbing Spirit and picking her up.
Spirit squirmed out of the tight grip, walking up her arm. Once she got close enough, she pulled up the piece of cloth covering her face. Spirit could only lift it so that she could see the eye, but that was okay. "Don't you think your sister would be willing to forgive? Did that thought never cross your mind?"
❤︎❤︎❤︎❤︎❤︎❤︎❤︎❤︎❤︎
Fire thrashed and burned in front of Eudoria, as she watched the chaos unfold. As her soldiers brought back hundreds of people to her city, she felt the most powerful. Juniper watched from the safety of the balcony, sobbing as she watched her people be taken. "Why must you do this?" She calmly asked Eudoria, who turned away.
"You know why."  "I'm sorry!" Juniper yelled, before running into the castle. "For everything!" Eudoria ignored her and left, using the mist from her scepter to stop the fire. There was no need for it, anymore.
❤︎❤︎❤︎❤︎❤︎❤︎❤︎❤︎❤︎ Eudoria's eye widened, and she covered her face with her hands. Spirit jumped off of Eudoria. "I can't turn back, I've gone too far." She lifted her face to look at Spirit, who was crying. "Tell Juni that I'm sorry for everything."
A million gems appeared before Spirit's eyes, shattering into a thousand different fragments. The only thing left of Eudoria was her scepter, lying on the floor.
Spirit walked up to the scepter, sitting on the ground next to it. So much had happened, and she still couldn't process it all. After a few minutes, she grabbed it, standing up. "We won." The dungeon door flew open, and the others ran out. "Spirit!" Luna yelled, waving her hands.
When Luna reached her, she looked at the scepter. "Wait, did you defeat her?!" She yelled out.
Spirit nodded. "Yeah."
"How?" Mariposa and Fern asked at the same time.
Spirit blushed, trying to explain what happened. "-and then, she, like, shattered. I think it had something todo with the gems?" She shrugged. "I'm still not sure."
"I wish I could've seen it!" Fern exclaimed. She sprinted over to the chandelier, examining it. "I can't believe you were the one that caused it to fall!"
"Were you even listening?" Luna questioned. "The queen broke it, not Spirit." She corrected.
"Uh, sorry to be a party pooper, but what now?" Mariposa asked. The four girls turned towards Anzu, who nervously scratched her head.
"I don't know, why not ask Spirit? She's the team leader, after all." Anzu said.
The cures turned to Spirit, who was about to argue back. She stopped herself, though, and cleared her throat. "I say, we go see Queen Juniper on the matter." She said, acting as proffesional as she could. "She will probably know what to do."
Spirit suddenly noticed a noise coming from the hallway. She listened for a second, before running towards them.
"Who's there?" She asked. She suddenly felt a gust of wind, and the scepter dissapeared. "What-?"
"Apologies for interupting." Spirit turned around to see Julian, holding the scepter in his gloved hands.
He pointed the scepter towards the girls, the dark mist swirling towards them. "But I have some unfinished business."

A fic ramble by mod Observer
Insert SB playthrough stuff. With the arson ending. But since this is the chaos jester variant you know Obs will make it silly (especially after seeing all the sad fire ending art/writing on tumblr lately...)  Burntrap is down below doing Burntrap things. When Glamrock Freddy is about to set the place on fire, though, you know the chaos jesters aren't going to let their fellow jesterbot perish. Plus Juni, EHF alpha Helpful’s twin, is bonded with the jester gang, so you know the pack isn't gonna be happy, nor is the All-Mother. "ENOUGH!" booms a new voice from above, echoing around everything and louder than the crackling flames. "This needs to end, but not in a way that takes so many lives! Mechanical or no, I can see all your sparks, none of you deserve to have them put out except that undead wretch."
A being appears surrounded by pure white light. She has enormous wings spread wide, banded with dark and light, and her form, though humanoid, shows catlike grace as she lands on her feet. The white aura around her shoots throughout the massive building, snuffing all the flames instantly. As she advances on Burntrap, the murderbunny feels pure terror wash over him. This being... this deity can see into his very soul. And he knows there is no escape.
"Undead wretch, what you have done can never be forgiven. Those who fell to you deserve to be set free, and you... you deserve to go back to the shadows from whence you came."
Her voice is still echoing around him, the enemy can feel the ones whose lives he ended growing excited; the goddess is going to let them punish him as they see fit. And that's not even factoring in the divine justice he has coming.
He tries to run, but a clawed hand grabs him from behind
CJ!Moon: "You tried to get me and my brother killed. Only I'm allowed to pick on him. And thanks to you i had to deal with that *ugh* 90s nightmare (EHF Fresh!Sans) and his murderbeast (Rowan). I may not be one of the ghosts that gets to decide your fate, but I really don't like you. So..."
Burntrap gets multiple painful controlled shocks. Ok who gave Moon a taser?
CJ!Sun gets a turn punishing Burntrap too. He's less physically violent than Moon but being scolded by him is almost as bad as a mom lecture from Helpful. Chica and Roxy are sharing popcorn in the background at the public humiliation of Burntrap, enjoying every second of this.
When the daycare bots are done, it's Monty's turn. He's so violent Obs isn't even going to write out what he does to the guy that caused him to try to kill a child. Because of the goddess binding BurnTrap, he's kept conscious this entire time.
Freddy goes full disappointed dad mode. Though not as physically violent as Monty, Burntrap acts like he's been hit. Disappointed parent mode is surprisingly effective.
Roxy is really mad that this psycho caused her girlfriend to get hurt. Naturally when it's her turn she's more violent than Monty. Chica is just enjoying the chaos. After the chaos, Roxy and Chica kiss in front of peepaw afton, which he gets all offended by. The girls also make an obscene gesture toward him. Obs hcs Burntrap as not even having the decency to accept that love comes in many forms. And this time Sun doesn't complain about the obscene gesture like he normally would.
DJMM just takes advantage of his massive size to destroy Burntrap a few times and MapBot settles for being annoying. Obs isn't sure what glamrock Bonnie does but he gets a turn destroying Afton too.
Even the chaos jester crew shows up, supporting their fellow clowns. Marx manages to annoy Afton by existing because he screeches a lot. Jevil and Dimentio also kiss in front of the jerk and make an obscene gesture.
"How many times do i have to end your game before you get the hint?" growls Dimentio, magic sparking between his fingers. He does the magic box/explosion thing about 20 times in quick succession to hurt the enemy as much as possible, then it's Vanessa's turn.
"You mind controlled me and manipulated me into going against my own job and harming rather than protecting. You know, like I'm supposed to do." She uses her taser with extreme prejudice as well as martial arts and even uses the weapon her Vanny persona had against the guy who made the Vanny persona in the first place. No Obs is not going to write out the violence.
"Ya know," says a familiar obnoxious voice from behind, "Ya really upset my wolf and my alpha by tryin' ta get me killed. Even da rest o' da pack ain't happy with ya."
 Burntrap screes in absolute horror.
 "Why are YOU here?!"
"Because I summoned him" says a child's voice.
Helpful pads over, unafraid. "My pack is on their way. We both know you tried to force the robots to kill me. And I had to hurt them to stop them, which they did not deserve. I also know how long it takes for mine to break you. Of course he also brought his explosives to physically break you. Dimentio, do you mind trapping this enemy in a box so mine can have his fun?"
 "Not at all" purrs Dimentio
Burntrap is caught again and surrounded by explosive furbies. Yes those are canonically Fresh's main weaponry, even outside of EHF. A few dozen rounds of explosions later, it's time for annoying the enemy by existing. Within 5 minutes Burntrap admits he preferred the explosions to hearing Fresh talk. Which only encourages him to annoy the murderbunny with cringe.
When he's done Rowan proceeds to violently remove the murderbunny multiple times with teeth and claws, the goddess's spell preventing Burntrap from staying down for too long to make him suffer for what he did.
As the rest of the pack appears, they each get a turn using their respective weaponry as many times as desired. Bow, axe, knife, sword, bone attacks, sharp tendrils, blasters, scythe, hammer, battle brush, strings, etc.- all are used multiple times on Burntrap. They eventually stop to permit the alpha to get a turn and what the little shapeshifter does is too brutal to write out here.
Juni even gets a turn, though she is much less confident than her twin. She still makes use of her claws of course. Once all who want a turn to punish the enemy are finished (Gregory included; he uses the laser he got from fazer blast), they go back to their respective verses, all except the All-Mother.
"Little spirits, come to me. It is time."
The ghost kids that fell to Afton all appear to surround the goddess. "Do as you wish to the one who harmed you, little ones. I shall bind him in the limbo where you are held until you are ready to be set free. I shall remain with you until it is time to send him to the depths."
The blinding white obliterates all the corruption within the building, leaving the robots unharmed as the structure is destroyed. The chaos jesters provide housing and charging stations and stuff to the robots until an up to code place is built for them.
 End scene
Note: the All-Mother character, Helpful the EHF alpha/their twin Juni, and Rowan are all my personal characters and (C) me, Mod Observer. The EHF version of the UTMV is (C) me and Mod Maxils. All other characters (C) their respective creators

I wrote out how Jay and Scottie first met (Scottie cares but sucks at showing it)! Enjoy!
TWs: None (I think)
Jay sat at a table in the Toppat airship’s cafeteria. He was in the middle of a phone call with their girlfriend, Hazel. “I’m sorry I haven’t said anything in a few days. Things have been… Chaotic.” “Hey, I’m not mad at you Jay. I never was.” Hazel spoke from the other side of the line. “I was just worried. It’s not like you to go radio silent for days on end.”
“I know, I know…” Jay muttered. “It’s just… I got a new, Uh, “Job” and I never got the opportunity to call. I’m actually gonna be gone for a little bit, I’m sorry.” “Don’t be sorry, I know getting a new job can be stressful. I’m just happy you’re okay and that you told me what was going on.” “Thanks… I don’t wanna be a bother, But could you keep an eye on Spot while I’m gone?”
Hazel smiled. “It’s not a bother at all! Little guy really likes me and Tara anyway. Just be careful, Okay?” “I will, And you be careful too. Love ya, Juni.” “Love you too, Jay-Jay!” Hazel then laughed. “And you better gimme some cookies from the bakery once you get back!” “No promises!” Jay chuckled before hanging up and putting their phone back in their pocket.
He took a deep sigh. It had been three days since the Toppat Clan took them in after escaping the CCC. Or has it been four? Jay had honestly lost track at this point. He wasn’t even sure why he went to the cafeteria. They haven’t decided if they were truly gonna take up Reginald’s offer of joining the clan and he honestly felt extremely out of place.
Jay was about to leave the cafeteria and just grab a snack like they had been doing since he got there, But they suddenly saw someone with black hair and a white chef’s coat walk right up to them.
“U-Uh…” “Reginald told me you were new here.” They simply spoke. “Tell me what you want to eat so I can make it.” Jay was a bit startled by this person’s bluntness. “You, You don’t need to do that. I was gonna grab a snack and go-” “No. I wasn’t asking.” The person suddenly interrupted. “I know for a fact that you haven’t had an actual meal since you got here. You’re eating something, Tell me what you want.”
Jay nervously laughed. “W-Well, If I have to choose, I guess I’ll have some fried chicken and fries? But like I said, You don’t have to-” The person left before Jay could even finish his sentence. “Oh, See you later..?”
About an hour and a half later, The person came back holding a plate with fried chicken and fries. “Here.” They set the plate in front of Jay. “It’s better than any chicken you’ll get at a fast food joint.”
Jay took a bite of the chicken and their face immediately lit up. “That’s really good! Thank you, Um..?” “Scottie Anderson, The Toppat’s lead chef.” Scottie finally introduced themselves. “And you?” “Jay Benson. I’m not really officially part of the clan.” He admitted. “I was kinda brought in for protection.” “ I see.” Scottie cleaned their chef’s knife with their coat. “Well, I wouldn’t make that decision on an empty stomach. I’ve got other business to tend to in the kitchen, So eat up, Ya hear?”
Jay watched Scottie leave back into the kitchen. The fact Scottie went out of their way to make sure he got something to eat, Despite their attitude, Was something he was grateful for. Jay smiled as they ate, Hopefully he’d get to know them a bit better.

Bimbo Bitch
Y’all about to hate me for this one (つω`。) I blame @kikyan , she helped me with this idea lmao
(Here’s a Yandere Junpei x Bimbo Fem Reader :P I love Junpei, and tbh, I’d be too blind to see him being a weirdo lmao.
TW: Sex is consensual!!!, Junpei is possessive of you, vague mentions of violence (not towards reader!), you’re lowkey kinda a simp for him but it’s ok bc he’s constantly simping for u, voyeurism!!, he fucks you in front of somebody unknowingly!, creampie!, nipple play!, you have nipple piercings!, !talks ab breeding!, daddy kink!, he just loves u sm, talks ab marrying you!, doesn’t go w original story plot!, etc..
Please proceed with caution!! I’m sorry if this is OOC! )
“Junpei, Junpei! Look! I made us a picnic basket!” Your darling boyfriend turns from his conversation with his college buddies, giving you a bright smile.
Your boyfriend has changed a lot since high school- he’s a lot more talkative, he works out, he practices self care (more like you force him into a chair and wash his face), etc.. He’s come out of his shell, and he’s on his way to becoming a prosthetic designer- both for movies and those who lost limbs/have deformities.
When you run up to him, you give him a juicy kiss on the lips. You wore his favourite lipgloss, along with a pretty new outfit that you just bought. Your pastel yellow crop top barely covers your perfect tits, the new plaid pastel yellow and pink tennis skirt just barely covers your ass, and your new pastel yellow stilettos make your legs look really good. His friends, even after all this time, can’t believe that he scored a perfect 10 like you.
The black haired man wraps an arm around your waist, peering down at the picnic basket you’re so proudly displaying. It’s a light brown wicker basket, which is practically half the size of you, “It looks great, pretty girl! Here, I’ll hold it for you,” He takes it from your hands, realising that you lugged an 80 pound basket across campus. You give him a smooch on the cheek, leaning into his warm side, looking only at him.
“Thank you, Juni!” You give him another kiss,”During class today, Sofia said that the apple orchard is allowing picnics! Isn’t that great? You haven’t been outside since exams started, so-”
He gives you a kiss on the lips, effectively shutting you up. Junpei’s heart feels so warm, you always care so deeply about him, and he’s so happy that you love him as much as he loves you, “That’s wonderful, precious,” He rubs your waist with his fingers, massaging the soft flesh, as he turns back to his friends, “I’m sorry, guys, but I’m a little caught up today. Maybe we can go to the arcade on a different day.”
They all grumble in response, but they aren’t angry. They understand that if soulmates really exist, then the two of you must be destined for one another.
“Yeah, yeah, the two of you can go simp over each other,” Hisahi jokes, making your boyfriend and his other friends laugh.
“It’s lowkey gross how perfect the two of you are for each other,” Suzuki scoffs, as you grin brightly.
“Thank you!” They laugh at your response, before your lovely boyfriend drags you towards the orchard.
-
Junpei lays out the blanket that you packed in the basket, as you traipse along the rows of trees. He gazes at you with a lovesick expression, as he pulls out your pretty packaged food items. You tried to make cute little panda bear rice balls, but they ended up turning out like black and white blobs. The same goes with the strawberries- you tried to cut them into hearts, but they came out as misshapen red lumps. Just the fact that you tried to make him a yummy lunch makes a blush appear on his face. You’re absolutely perfect for him.
You come rushing back with a large honey crisp, cheering happily, “Juni, look! This one is huge!” You plop on your knees on the blanket, before sitting criss-cross, effectively showing him your pastel pink panties, as you hold it up for him to see. Without warning, he lifts you onto his lap, making sure that his set up of your food didn’t knock over. He settles you on his lap, arms wrapped around your waist, as you continue to hold up the apple, but giggle happily. You kiss all over his face, as he removes one hand from your waist to smooth your skirt back onto your wonderful ass. He doesn’t want just anybody seeing his precious girl like that. If they did, he may have to blind them, because not just anyone can see a goddess in her natural state.
“That’s a very nice apple, pretty girl. How about we wait to pick apples until after we eat what you made for us, okay? Wouldn’t want you breaking a heel,” He grabs a nearby container, opening it up to expose dumplings you’d made. They’re not perfect, but they smell delicious. He holds the container with the arm that’s still around your waist, whilst he picks up a pair of reusable chopstick with his free hand. Using the utensil, he grabs a dumpling, before bringing it to your lips. You happily take a bite, allowing him to finish the piece he just served you.
“Is it good, Juni? I found a new recipe that I wanted to try!” Once he finishes his bite, he grins, giving you a smooch on the lips.
“Yes, precious, they’re great! Let’s make them together next time, okay?” He grabs another one, bringing it up to your mouth, allowing you to eat happily.
Junpei continues to feed you and then himself until all of the food is gone. Now with a full tummy, your darling boyfriend allows you to get up, his hand rubbing your food baby happily. His precious girl should never go hungry.
“Let’s go, let’s go! I wanna get a lot of apples, Juni!” He chuckles, allowing you to drag him off to the area where you can get a bin for your pickings. He leaves your belongings behind, though he did put everything back into the basket, besides the blanket. The person handing out bins is an older man. The dark haired man notices the way the old man stares at you, as he collects the bin, making him pull you impossibly closer to his chest as you chat excitedly about finding an apple pie recipe.
“Let’s go, pretty girl, we have many apples to pick,” He practically drags you away, but you’re nonthewiser to his harsh glare he’s currently directing at the old man. Junpei brings you back towards the area where your blanket is, helping you grab as many apples as your wonderful heart desires.
Unfortunately, though, you become distracted by a full tree, skipping away from the safe confines of Juni’s arms. You grab as many as you can reach, unknowingly flashing your ass to those behind you. This is taken as an invitation by a creepy man.
“Are you putting on a show for me, beautiful?” A nasally voice comes from behind you, causing you to whip around and face the person speaking to you. He’s a long blue haired man, black stitches on his pale skin.
You take a small step back, not liking that Junpei wasn’t near you, “Huh?? A show? I’m just picking apples, mister!” You hold your large pile in your arms, holding them close to your almost exposed chest.
“Don’t be shy, you know what you’re doing,” He steps towards you, causing you to take another step back. This man is scary, “Allowing your sweet ass to be seen by everyone, like a whore. But, don’t worry, I can put you in your place, babe. Just come over to mine-”
You feel arms surrounding you from behind, the smell of Junpei’s cologne telling you that the person is your pretty boyfriend, “We’ll pass.”
One of your boyfriend’s large hands pulls at your skirt, making sure it’s fully over your ass, before giving it a soft pat. The blue haired man smirks at the two of you, “Oh? You have a boyfriend? He doesn’t look like much.”
The dark haired man goes to speak, but you cut him off, an uncharacteristic frown on your pretty face, “Don’t say that! Junpei is my whole world!” This blue haired man sure talks a lot without much meaning. He doesn’t know that your precious boy started to work out so he could lift you with ease, that he buys you gifts every week, that he takes you on dates almost every day after he works, that he takes good care of you, even though you’re a bit airheaded most of the time.
Junpei gives you a smooch on the forehead, trying to calm you down, “Sir, with all due respect, I don’t give a fuck what you have to say. Now, my girlfriend and I will be going now- don’t bother following us,” With that you both head back to your blanket, where the bin of your previously picked apples sit right next to the blanket. He helps you put away the apples in your arms, before wiping you off of any dirt or pollen.
“Thank you, Juni. I’m sorry for wandering away, I saw a big tree, and-” He shuts you up with another kiss, falling back on the blanket with you practically straddling his hips. He deepens it, making it so you’re practically shoving your tongues down each other’s throats. His hands are settled on your hips, as you can’t help but grind against his clothed cock.
There’s no one around the two of you, so all you can hear is the both of you whimpering against one another. He pulls away from the kiss for a moment, taking in your smeared lip gloss covered face with fondness, “It’s okay, precious, I know how dumb my pretty girl can be. That’s why I gotta marry you, right? Make sure you’re safe and sound,” He pulls out a small box, flicking it open, exposing a beautiful engagement ring. Your eyes are wide, mouth falling open, as you squeal with happiness.
“Yes! Yes, Juni, I’ll marry you! I love you so much!” He’s glad you didn’t ask what he had to do to get you the ring. People pay a pretty penny for others to go missing, but it’s worth it if his perfect girl feels loved. Though, he did have a hard time figuring out when to propose.
“I love you too, (Your Name), more than I can ever express,” He plucks the ring from its case, grabbing your right hand, and sliding it onto your ring finger. Junpei allows you to hold up you hand, face lit up with pure, unadulterated awe.
“Woow! It’s so pretty!” He threads his fingers with yours, yanking you back down to him, allowing him to bring you into another messy kiss. With your free hand, you swipe his hair away from his face, exposing his scars. Breaking the kiss, you smooch all of the marks marring his milky skin, “But not as pretty as my pretty boy!” You grin at him, as tears dot his lash line. You must love him a lot to deal with his ugly side too. Grabbing him by the front of his shirt, you pull him up until he’s at the same height as you sitting up, allowing you to caress his face with care, “I think we’d make pretty babies, Juni.”
He smirks at that, releasing your threaded fingers, before pulling down your pastel yellow top. You didn’t wear a bra today, which allows him to get an eyeful of your perfect tits. On each nipple, there’s a silver bar that ends in pink hearts. You give a small squeal when you feel him cup your boobs, the predatory look on his face sending lightning bolts to your pussy, “Yes we would, precious. And your pretty tiddies would swell with yummy milk, isn’t that nice?” You nod your head rapidly, a bright smile on your face.
Junpei lightly pinches at your nipples with his forefingers and thumbs, relishing your whines and gasps. Massaging your fleshy boobs with the rest of his fingers, he ducks his head down to take a nipple into his mouth. This immediately gets you moaning, your boyfriend knowing that your breasts are quite sensitive. Your hips move on their own, grinding against his growing erection, as your eyes practically roll to the back of your head.
He separates from your nipple for a moment, taking in your already fucked out expression, “Hmm, looks like I gotta get you used to nursing, huh, pretty girl? Look how sensitive you are,” You pout a little, but your eyes are still glazed over with lust.
“Yes please! I need your help Juni,” You rub your pussy especially hard on his covered cock, “Want you to fuck me already! My pussy is so wet, Daddy, need your cock.”
He grins at you, giving your nipple a harsh suck out of nowhere, causing you to moan and rut against him harshly, “You sure, precious? Don’t need Daddy to finger your pretty cunny open first?” You shake your head, hands gripping at his pecs through his oversized shirt, “If you’re sure, pretty girl, take out my cock, and you can use me how you want, okay?”
You nod your head rapidly, dumb fingers relentlessly trying to unbutton his jeans, before pulling down his boxers and exposing his well maintained prick. It’s a pretty pink, large tip standing out against his circumcised cock. A large bead of precum rolls down his shaft, as you all but jump his bones, “Yes, Daddy! I want you to give me a baby!” You push your pretty pink panties to the side, before rubbing your sopping cunny over his tip. Junpei’s hold on your tits tighten, as he toys with your nipples teasingly, staring at you like you’re the sun to his solar system.
He lets out a grunt when you force all of your weight down on his shaft, sheathing him deep within your perfect pussy. You let out a girly squeal, relishing the way he fills you to the brim. His cockhead is practically breaching your cervix, which he knows all too well, as he starts to grind against your sensitive opening with his cock, “Not yet, pretty girl. I gotta marry you and buy you a house first,” He smooches you right on the mouth, before returning to your perfect tits, sucking and pinching your nipples like a madman. He’s practically motorboating you at this point.
You let out a small whine, but that doesn’t stop you from bouncing on his cock like a good girl. Using all of your strength, you begin to bounce. You both moan, relishing the feeling of one another. Wet slaps are heard, as your sopping cunny practically soaks your boyfriend’s jeans.
Junpei finally releases your tits, in favour of gripping your waist, and fucking into faster. Your hands somehow ended up underneath his shirt, allowing you to scratch at his muscled shoulders, “Daddy! Daddy! I love you!” You kiss him messily on the mouth, feeling him smirk against you, “I love you and your fat cock! Fills me up so good!”
He gives your hips a squeeze, making sure to angle his hips just right, so that his pretty girl squirts all over his cock, “I love you too, precious. This perfect pussy is squeezing me so tight,” He lets out an orgasmic moan that goes directly to your pussy, forcing a small orgasm out of you, causing a small stream of squirt to wet your thighs. You let out a small squeal, clenching around him without warning. He grunts, the noise coming from deep within his chest, as he finally pushes you back onto the blanket he laid out.
You’re immediately put into a mating press, legs hooked over his shoulders, as he bucks into you at top speed. The noises you let out are positively sinful, as your eyes roll to the back of your head, and Junpei presses a kiss to your lipgloss smeared lips, “Right there, Daddy! Right there! I’m gonna-”
He suddenly rubs your clit harshly, causing you to have a full body orgasm. Your legs shake like you’re ceasing, fingers gripping the blanket as hard as humanly possible, all whilst you squirt uncontrollably all over the two of you. Junpei quickly cums after you, his cum practically flying out with your squirting orgasm. He looks down at your fucked out face with fondness, you’re so beautiful.
Removing your legs from his shoulders, he settles you down on the blanket, and smiles at you, “Are you okay, precious? Did I go too hard on you?” He pulls your shirt back over your breasts, as he places fleeting kisses all over your face.
You give him a pretty smile, “I’m good, Juni. It felt so good,” He leans down, and presses a smooch against your lips, before he pulls your panties back over your soaked cunny.
“You made a mess, pretty girl,” The words seem scolding, but his tone is loving, “How’re we supposed to go home without everyone knowing I fucked your perfect cunny?” Your face feels hot at his words, as you pout.
“Juniii don’t say that!” He laughs at your whining, using the blanket to wipe at the wetness that coats your lower half. Once done, he flips your skirt over, covering your pussy and upper thighs. He then tucks his cock back into his jeans, before buttoning and zipping them.
By this point, it was starting to get dark and cooler. Your cute outfit does nothing to cover you, making your boyfriend concerned. Taking off his t-shirt, he quickly pulls up your arms, and slips it onto you. If it was big on him, it’s huge on you, settling almost at your knees, “Can’t have my princess catching a cold,” He states with a soft smile. You can easily see his forming muscle, showing how his efforts are paying off.
“Thank you, Juni,” You grin at him, lipgloss still smeared, hair looking crazy. Licking his thumb, he wipes the gloss from around your lips, giving you a kiss once he’s done. He then smooths your hair back into the position it once was in, effectively hiding any sign that he’d just rocked your world.
He helps you step off of the blanket, before folding it up, and placing it in the wicker basket. Hoisting up the apple bucket in one arm, he grabs the basket in his other, “Let’s go home, precious. You deserve a nice, hot bath.”
Giggling, you and Junpei make your way home.
Whilst you’re all rainbows and sunshine, your boyfriend is getting ready to kill. Did that blue haired freak really think he didn’t see him? He’s not invisible.
Giving a sigh that he masks as a grunt, he looks at you with fond eyes. It makes sense why that weirdo would want you, you’re the perfect woman. But, he should know that you’re not his to take.
So, Junpei will be sure to give him a lesson later, seeing as the creep is currently following the two of you home.

Salt burned your lungs as you tossed open your window with a loud bang, the seagulls perching on your flower boxes screeched in protest and flew from your window. “Fucking sky rats get the fuck out of here you heathens!” You snarled out the window shaking your fist at the bothersome birds, the sounds of the ocean crashing on the shore filled your ears as well as the chatter of the dock workers. You let the breeze blow back your hair and you heard someone calling your name from down below.
“Good morning (Y/n)!” You glanced below you and grinned,
“Morning Eret!” They waved back enthusiastically their dress spilling around their ankles, a basket of fruit was balanced on his hip. “Opening early today? I'm sure your patrons would be happy to start their drunken stupor early,” She held a hand to his mouth snickering and you shot them a look.
“If that gets more money in my pocket then so be it, I won't complain too much.” You shrugged, “Will I still see you later tonight?”
“Always do dove, how can I resist a drink from my favorite bartender.”
“You can’t it’s my charm.”
“Will the both of you shut the fuck up!” Another man’s voice growled from another open window, “It’s too early for your bullshit.” You saw Eret click his tongue but smiled up at you despite the man's protests,
“I’m heading to the market anyway. These fruits won’t sell themselves, I'll see you later.”
“See you soon!” You closed your windows once more, but not before urging your daisies to grow one last time. You tossed open the curtains allowing light to spill into your cozy home, a small carpet was in the middle of your room. It was a deep red and the pattern was made of gold yarn, aside from that everything in your residency was made of dark wood. Your shelves were littered with books and empty cups, and your old worn journal sat open on your desk. It was filled with childhood memories and you continued to write in it to this day, it was easier then, things were simple and everything was innocent and new to you. Now your days were filled with sea fairing idiots who liked to drink themselves stupid, but you could handle yourself, you always kept your father's dagger on your thigh at all times. Those who were frequent customers knew not to mess with you and those who were new learned their lesson within the first ten minutes of meeting you. You inherited the bar from your father, a kindhearted man who died a few years before today, leaving you with the bar and the dagger you had on your hip. You fished through your closet pulling out your clothes for the day, your dress was a gorgeous light coffee color and came down to your ankles. The bottom was flared and had dark brown panels on the sides, it faded inward to a light green then back to the coffee color. The corset around your waist was a dark brown with light green trim, you tied it tight with a small huff making sure your waist was sinched perfectly. The sleeves came down to your elbows allowing you to move your arms freely while making drinks. The top of the dress ended just below your collarbone, you strapped your dagger to your thigh before lacing up your knee-high black boots.
You thought back to your tavern downstairs, you were fortunate enough that you weren’t running this entire operation yourself. You ended up hiring help and they were like family and you knew they saw you as such as well. Most of the girls didn’t have a family of their own so you gave them room and board, also money, of course, you weren’t a terrible boss! You opened the door to your room, you watched Cecil, the tavern’s mascot trot out of Juniper’s room. The border collie liked to switch up which rooms he stayed in protecting every one of your girls when you couldn’t be there for them.
The first of your girls was Adelaide or Addie, she was one of the first to fall under your care. She was around your age, a motherly type, sheep hybrid, who cared for the girls, and always gave the drunk patrons with mommy issues a shoulder to cry on. Her long brown hair always hung down her back, she typically worked tables, served food and drinks, and always got a generous tip from patrons.
The next girl was Judas, a squid-enderman hybrid who was taller than you could ever wish to be, although intimidating you couldn’t meet a kinder woman. A jack of all trades the woman helped out wherever she could, black-ish purple hair curled around her shoulders and some people came specifically to hear her sing. Her voice was like rich velvet and lured men and women in like a siren.
Juniper was after Judas, a demon hybrid who was naive but you’d be a fool to underestimate her. She worked beside you at the bar, she can make some mean fruity drinks, Eret always preferred her drinks over yours. Freckles adorned her face and shoulders, her light brown hair curled down to her middle back, purple horns sprouted from the top of her head. You wanted to adorn it with gold jewelry and you were saving up to gift some to her.
Yeti was a human woman like yourself, she didn’t bother with those who were rude or obnoxious. She kept to herself only really talking when she was spoken to or when there was an opportunity to crack a rare joke. She typically stayed on the sidelines, out of the scenes and Yeti liked to help Judas decorate her sets.
Zig was a kind young adult, they got along with everyone who came inside the tavern. Soft emerald eyes drew people in, and they tried to make sure tensions within the bar didn’t rise and start a fight. There would always be one or two that’s just natural, but one look at Zig and his magic words and they seemed to disperse, not wanting to hurt the kid’s feelings.
Vendetta was the tallest member of the group you had taken in, she was stunningly beautiful and didn't take shit from anybody. She was a guard dog if you will, making sure no one fucked with any of the girls in your tavern. While Zig did their best to keep people under control sometimes they couldn’t win. That’s when Ven would step in and ‘kindly’ escort them off the premises with or without force.
The youngest member here was Luvena. She was a moo-bloom hybrid with soft brown hair that sprouted flowers, her cow ears would twitch when she was excited and followed Addie around like she was her daughter. Addie took her under her wing and was training her to be a perfect little waitress, absolutely warming customers’ hearts. Luvena also loved to give out flowers, she was a fan favorite bringing new life into the tavern.
Cecil barked seeing his mama and scampered over to you, you poured food into his bowl as Juniper wandered into the hallway. Her head rested on the doorframe as she gave you a tried wave, “Morning (Y/n).”
“Morning Juni, We’re opening a little early today. Take your time I’m not expecting a big rush of bar patrons this early.” You assured her and she gave a sleepy nod,
“I’ll be down as soon as Ven’s out of the shower.” She yawned, “This beauty doesn’t come naturally.”
“Hardly darling you’re gorgeous just the way you are.” You reassured with a wink, Juniper flushed a little, happily laughing beside you.
“Just go wake the others will you, you flirt!”
Tossing your head back you gave a happy laugh heading down the hallway to make sure everyone was awake and ready to go for later. Addie and Luvena shared a room so she was in charge of waking up the youngest member of the tavern. Judas was already awake making breakfast for everyone when you headed downstairs, Zig was sitting on the counter beside her, they were the designated taste tester.
“Good morning Miss (Y/n)!” Zig chirped, the young adult hummed fondly, “Sleep okay?”
“Absolutely. What about you both? Thank you for making breakfast Judas.” You hummed fondly and Judas had a shy smile on her face.
“I slept well thank you.” Judas hummed softly, “Also it’s my pleasure. Want to make sure everyone’s healthy and alright.” She let out a little squeak as you wrapped your arms around her body, you barely came up to her chest,
“Judas please marry me,” You complained, “Your breakfast is always heavenly and you care for everyone. Please be my wife.”
“(Y/n)! Please.” She sputtered face turning a dark purple, Zig made a noise of protest and held his hand in the air.
“If she won’t marry you I will!”
“Zig! I’d be honored!”
Their entire face lit up with excitement and they hopped off the table to hug you tightly, you hugged them back and pressed a fond kiss to the top of their head. “I got to open up the tavern, you mind setting the table for me Zig?”
“Sure Miss!”
You sent Judas a kiss in the air which her face burned at, quickly going back to her cooking. You smiled eagerly and unlocked the door to the tavern, you shoved a bucket in front of the door to keep it open. The salty ocean air wafted through your nostrils and your eyes sparkled wondrously.
Today is going to be a good day.
Almost immediately a particular bastard caught your eye,
“You’re here early.” You mused raising an eyebrow,
“Heard you were opening early today sweetcheeks,” His voice was a low baritone, rough from years of smoking and drinking. Horns curled around his fluffy ears that stood out against his gruff exterior, he was a ram hybrid at its finest. “Figured I’d take the opportunity to get a special drink from my special girl,” He mused looking you up and down drinking in your figure. You scoffed at the retired man, he dressed like he was cosplaying captain jack sparrow, the gun’s in his belt just added to his costume and so did his large ruffled shirt, he was never one to forget his gold jewelry.
“Where’s Quackity?” You ignored him sitting him at his usual table, he frowned but you knew he was taking it as an opportunity to stare at your ass. He slid into the stool and put his feet up on the table, his boots were muddy but you could only control him so much. He was too much of a regular to get scared off by your threats and scolding.
“He’ll be in at his normal time. He’s not much of a day drinker, although can’t say I’m complaining. Having all your attention on me and all, considering I’m the only one in here. That being said, I’ll have my usual sweetcheeks.”
“Stop calling me that,” You scolded with a certain fondness that was reserved for the man. “You’re lucky you’re my favorite regular Schlatt,” you gave his ears a fond pinch and he bleated. He sent you a scalding look as you walked away, although the look soon fell as he got a good look at your ass once again.
“I’m your only regular sugar tits!”
“Schlatt feet off the table.” Addie criticized whacking his boots with a rolled-up menu, he rolled his eyes but dropped his feet to the floor. “You should know this by now, we go through this every day.”
“Yeah, yeah little lamb I’m on it. Judas here?”
“She’s always here,” She huffed spreading the menu down on the table. “Do you want your usual or something different? Should I get Quackity’s drink ready too?”
“Nah just stick with mine, for now, tell Judas I’d like to see her.”
Addie clicked her tongue and placed her hand on her hip, “fine. But if you’re just going to grossly flirt with her as you do with (y/n), then keep it to yourself.”
“You’re not the boss of me. Just because you look like an old hag-” The way she glared at him sent a chill down his spine, “shit babe take a joke will you.”
Eventually, people began to file into the tavern, as the morning faded into the afternoon and then into the evening. The tavern was bustling with life, Judas’s elegant voice traveled through the crowds and her voices seemed to float above the voices. Quackity joined Schlatt by his side seemingly irritated by a conversation they were having, Schlatt was about five drinks in at this point, which was much less than his usual, and Quackity on his second.
“What are they talking about?” Luvena asked swinging her legs as she sat on the bar beside you. Her moobloom ears twitching every so often as she tried to eavesdrop on their conversation,
“Vena it’s impolite to eavesdrop.” You scolded bopping her on the head lightly, she whined and rubbed the top of her head.
“I wasn’t!” She argued as you rolled your eyes, you looked over at the two men to find Quackity looking over at you. His hand was raised in the air, one finger was up summoning you to get him another drink.
“I’ll be back, why don’t you talk to Ven while I’m gone. She’ll keep an eye on you.”
“I don’t need a babysitter!”
“Good thing she doesn’t want to babysit your ass either, now shoo.” You motioned her to hop off the bar and she did so with a long, dramatic sigh. You looked over at Ven who gave you a silent nod, letting you know she’d watch out for the youngest member of your band of misfits. Meanwhile, you grabbed Quackity another drink and walked over to the two men at the table, “Someone order a drink?”
“Aye! Mamacita! Fancy seeing you here.” Quackity purred a bright smile spreading across his face seeing that you were the one to deliver his drink,
“Hey Big Q,” You greeted placing the drink in front of him, “You doing okay?”
“Better now that an angel walked into my sight,” He flirted and you rolled your eyes. “What? It’s true! You always brighten my day you know? Ow!” Schlatt hit his ex-first mate over the head,
“Take a breath lover boy. Thanks for the drink sugar tits.”
“You’re welcome, what were the both of you talking about if I may ask.” You hummed grabbing some of Schlatt’s empty glasses, an uncharacteristic frown came over both their faces. “Oh? Touchy subject?”
“Don’t worry about it, sweetheart. Just dishing out some old problems, most of which are better left unsaid.” He aimed that statement at Quackity, his jaw seemed clenched and Quackity’s brow furrowed in annoyance.
“Well I just want to remind the both of you,” You passed the tray of empty glasses over to Addie as she walked by, she took them swiftly. You grabbed the side of both their heads and pressed them against your chest, not that you knew but both men’s flushed to the tips of their ears. “No physical fights are allowed in this tavern. If one starts I won’t hesitate to kick your fucking asses. Got it? They looked over your chest and locked eyes with one another, after years on the sea they could read one another’s facial expressions rather easily and at that moment they shared the same thought,
‘They should fight more often.’
“I said, got it?”
“Yes ma’am,” The repeated simultaneously as you pulled away,
“That’s what I like to hear-”
“(Y/n)!” Vendetta’s velvety voice called out from behind you, you turned and saw a group of newcomers file into your bar. Your body tensed momentarily,
Pirates.
Schlatt turned his head to follow your gaze and he tensed from behind you, “fuck me.” He growled and Quackity raised an eyebrow at his captain, he turned to look over his shoulder and his face lit up.
“Sapnap!”
The pirate who had a white bandana tied around his forehead glanced over at him and a smile lit up across his features. “Quackity? Is that you?”
“My man!” He stood up from his chair heading over to wrap the man in a hug, “I haven’t seen you in years, man.” You zoned out of their conversation eyes locking with a few of the other pirates who walked into the tavern. Vendetta and Addie both greeted them, but everyone who was under your care knew to keep their guard up around pirates. From what you could gather there seemed to be two crews, a crew of what only seemed to be two, Sapnap was included. The fire demon was still talking with Quackity, while the other man took in the view of the tavern, he had shaggy blonde hair, and had a few scars across his face. A porcelain mask sat on top of his head, a forest green cloak was around his shoulders, his hood was lowered around his neck. A sword was strapped tight against his hip and there was another dagger that seemed to be tucked against his side. His eyes gazed towards you and he winked teasingly with a coy smile, you scoffed looking over at Addie.
“Seat those two gentlemen yeah? Be careful, I’ll tell Ven and Yeti to keep an eye.” Addie looked at you, concern written on her soft features but she nodded. While Addie departed, you noticed Ven talking with the other group. Luvena was hiding behind Vendetta’s long legs, although a tall blonde boy seemed very keen on talking to her. You smoothed out your dress and moved towards the group of three, you eyed them up casually. The blonde looked to be around Luvena’s age, he had a shit-eating grin on his face and his uniform matched that of the second tallest in the group. The second tallest was clad in a light blue jacket with large golden buttons on the red collar. He had a cream-frilled shirt underneath and a black belt holding up his brown slacks, those were tucked into black boots. On his back seemed to be a guitar and was the only one of them not holding a weapon, but you knew better than to assume with pirates. His curly brown hair seemed to bounce every time he talked, he seemed to be the ringleader but there was no doubt that the real ringleader was the hybrid standing beside him. He was taller, on par with Vendetta in height, he had long pink hair that was tied in a ponytail on top of his head. A few pieces framed his face elegantly, there was no doubt he was the captain of the little crew that was in your tavern. He had a white shirt on with a deep low cut ‘V’ it showed off a good portion of his scared chest, around his shoulders sat a deep red jacket but his arms were outside of it and crossed over his chest. He seemed content on letting his second in command do all the talking, his red eyes were the only ones to meet yours. His head tilted upwards and before Vendetta could stop him he walked over towards you,
“You own the tavern?” His voice was a low monotone and it sent an array of pleasant chills up your spine.
“I do,” You raised an eyebrow crossing your arms over your chest, “Names (Y/n). You are?”
“Captain Technoblade of the ship Odyssey, I was hoping you had a few rooms and a table available. My brothers and I are pretty exhausted, we’ve been sailing all night.”
Brothers, they certainly didn’t all look alike, but then again you certainly had a mix of girls in your care. Your tongue swiped against the top row of your teeth, “Why don’t you and your brothers take a seat at the bar for now. Juniper will be happy to serve you, I’ll see if we have some free rooms available.”
“Thank you, once you return I’ll introduce them to you if you’d like,” Technoblade bowed his head before turning back to get his brother’s attention.
“I’d like that thank you.” You gave a nod motioning for Vendetta to follow you as you slid behind the bar with Juniper, Judas had also taken a spot sitting on the bar. You figured you’d let her know as well, considering she was another adult figure in the group. You knew either Juniper or Judas would fill in Addie considering the three were close. “Ven, can they be trusted?”
“Not too sure about the masked man, the one Quackity seems to be familiar with seems decent enough. He’s a fire demon though, could smell him from miles away, we all just need to be cautious.”
“Agreed,” Juniper added tapping her finger on her chin. “We should just try to curb all fighting if at all possible, what did the captain of the other group ask you?”
“They want a room, I’m about to check to see if we have availability. Thoughts on that?”
Judas let out a low hum her eyes followed both sets of pirate groups around the tavern, “I say if we have availability let them stay. They seem harmless so long as we don’t mess with them, which we’d never do.”
“Plus I can always stay awake to keep an eye on them.” Vendetta tapped her nails against the table,
“You sure.”
“As if I’d let anything happen to any of you, you’re my family.”
You all smiled softly, and you noticed Judas’s eyes widen, “Zig! Get that out of your mouth this instant!” She shot up from her spot and over to the person in question. The three of you laughed fondly at the nonsense, meanwhile, Juniper saw the three brothers sit at her bar. She moved away from you to greet them, you immediately could tell she was taken with the second eldest brother.
He seemed to be an absolute lady killer.
Vendetta ruffled your hair before going back to stand at her place by the door to keep the peace. You headed up the stairs to the rafters to check on the extra rooms you had, “Excuse me?” You tensed visibly turning around to face the man in all green. His eyes were mesmerizing, a fierce jade green to contrast his cloak, “Do you happen to have two rooms available?” The man held up two fingers to clarify his request,
“Do you usually start introductions with a blatant request like that?”
He chuckled a smile spreading across his lips, “I’m Dream and you gorgeous?”
“(Y/n), it’s your lucky day I’m about to check and see if any are available. My tavern is a hot commodity tonight.”
“Well, I can see why,” he spoke and you raised an eyebrow and tilted your head to the side.
“Oh?”
“It has the hottest owner around. Word spreads fast.”
You couldn’t believe this man was making your cheeks burn, he chuckled softly taking a step towards your figure. “Oh really, word spreads that fast on the open sea, Captian?” It was his turn to turn light pink, but he covered it up quickly with a chuckle.
“Touché.”
“I’ll get on that room for you and your friend. Take a seat, for now, this part is for guests and staff only you know?”
“So I have you all to myself?” He cheekily mused, he stepped towards you and before you knew it you were pinned against a wall. His hand suddenly brushed against your cheek, it was cold in comparison to your warm cheek. You felt Dream’s thumb brush against your cheek slowly, “You know...being on the open sea alone does something to a person.”
“Oh, I’m sure.” You mused pushing your forehead back against Dream’s, “All alone with only your crew with you.” Taking his other hand within your own you slid it up to your hip, you saw his entire face turn red as he stared down at your chest. “You’re probably missing a little love in your life, aren’t you Dreamy?” He nodded dumbly, his eyes still not leaving your chest,
Perfect. You weren’t going to let some pirate boy get the better of you.
He let out a grunt of pain as you spun him around and pressed his head into the wall with your elbow, your other hand has his pinned behind his back. “This hallway is for staff and guests only,” You purred in his ear before letting him go and swinging your hips before heading up the stairs fully. From behind you, Dream’s face was a deep, dark red and he had to clear his throat. Dream wasn’t going to let you go after that, I mean look at you, tough and able to hold your own, it awakened something inside him.
After checking up on the rooms you headed back down into the main hall, three-room keys in your hand. Glancing over at the scene in front of you, you saw Juniper dancing in the middle of the tavern the flirtatious brother at her side. Judas was sitting beside Schatt and Quackity at the bar, Addie was tending to Technoblade and the blonde at their little table. Dream and Sapnap were whispering to one another in the corner but still seemed to be enjoying the show. Vendetta was smiling softly by the door, beside her were Luvena and Zig both playing various instruments. You noticed Eret was also amongst the crowd, she had a brilliant grin on his face, it was flushed pink with alcohol and you smiled to yourself.
It was peaceful, and for a moment you forget half the patrons were scoundrels or pirates.
That was until the man dancing with Juniper locked eyes with you, his eyes lit up and he spun Juniper off into Addie’s arms. She giggled snuggling into the mother sheep’s arms, you heard a distressed “Juni! I’m holding glasses!” Before your vision was overtaken by the handsome flirt.
“Hello love,” He hummed, “May I offer you a dance?”
You were about to refuse but you saw Yeti, who finally made her appearance as it was getting closer to Judas’s set, giving you a big thumbs up “I’d be honored.” You responded taking his hand within your own, he pulled you out onto the dance floor and you felt his other hand politely hover on the small of your back. He allowed you to lean into his touch as he began to elegantly spin you around the dance floor, you were almost embarrassed to say felt like a princess. “Maybe I could get your name?” You asked above the music, “Since it seems you’re my dance partner this evening?”
“Wilbur Soot my love.” He hummed proudly, “The first mate of the ship Odysseus at your service. Plus I play music on the side.”
“Well now you need to play for us,” Wilbur twirled you around in a circle,
“Maybe one day. If you give me your name?”
“(Y/n) (L/n).”
“Beautiful name for a beautiful woman.”
“I was right.” You commented biting the bottom of your lip trying not to smile,
“About what?”
“You.”
“Ah? Already talking about me I see? Is my manliness and gentlemanly qualities that renowned?”
“Not exactly.” He picked you up slightly and pulled you into a low dip, “I was right in thinking you a nothing but a flirty playboy.” Wilbur almost dropped you, you squawked grabbing onto his neck. He began to laugh as you clung to his chest,
“Alright love. You caught me red-handed.”
Wilbur set you on your feet hands on your lower back, you were pulled close to his chest. “Can I buy you a drink?”
“I get them for free hon. I own the place.”
“Oh...oh.” He paled a little, “I didn’t fuck up our chances of getting a room did I?”
“Nah lucky for you and your brothers, I have you covered, same with your buddies over there.” You motioned to Dream and Quackity’s friend, Wilbur’s face paled as he felt the chilled room key get placed in his palm. “What’s your little brother’s name?”
“Tommy.”
“Tell them both we serve breakfast free from 7 am to 10 am.” He nodded as you walked past, Wilbur meanwhile turned to look at Technoblade. It seemed he had his red eyes on the couple the entire time they were dancing. He held up a room key, it was labeled 205; Technoblade nodded his head before leaning back and talking to Addie once more. “Dream!” You called throwing a hand up into the air, instead of Dream, Sapnap looked up he nudged Dream with his elbow. The man was now wearing his mask, but at least you could tell he was looking at you,
“Well hello, darlin’ you must be (Y/n). Name's Sapnap. Dream told me about you, so you have good news for us I hope?”
“Pleasure, I'm sure he told you all about me,” He nodded, his eyes taking in your body especially your ass. “Got you both a room key, your neighbors. Across from the other crew of pirates. Just don’t fight and we won’t have any problems.”
“You mean those jackasses are staying?” Sapnap complained loudly, looking over your shoulder at the other crew members.
“You both didn’t think you were the only patrons, did you? This is a business after all.” You, tossed the keys their way, Dream caught it with ease and Sapnap fumbled it only a little bit. After they were in their hands, you waved them off with a flutter of your palm you turned around to go speak with Judas about her set but before you could take a step you saw Schlatt stumbling up from his seat. “Ah shit,” You knew what was about to happen, you weren’t paying attention to the ram hybrid so who knew how many drinks in he was. You felt responsible, for a while you and Judas had been trying to help Schlatt with his addiction. You couldn’t help but wonder what exactly set him off for him to get this drunk, Quackity caught him in his arms with a grumble. The man was a drunken mess, and as you approached you could hear his slurred speech and could practically smell the alcohol on his breath. “Schlatt,” You spoke carefully and as soon as you got close Schlatt detached himself from Quackity and lunged at you. His head was buried in his chest, he almost purred like he was very happy to be there, you rolled your eyes and ran your fingers through his hair. You were mindful of his horns but he seemed pretty eager for you to touch them,
“(Y/n).” He whined although it was muffled against your ample chest, “Why do pirates have to fuck everything up?”
“What are you on about Schlatt? No one likes pirates.”
“They’re gonna take you away from me, sugar. You’re my safe space, this tavern is my safe space.” You sighed listening to his drunken ramblings, you grabbed his horns and pulled him away from your chest.
“This is my life Schlatt, I’m not going anywhere trust me. Plus my family is here, they need me. So try not to worry okay?” You slicked back the hair on his forehead before planting a fond kiss there, everyone in the tavern narrowed their eyes at the scene. Even your girls were green with envy, at the sight of their lovely boss kissing someone who wasn’t them. He leaned against your lips eyes fluttering closed,
“Well, well, well if it isn’t Captian Schlatt? Or ex-captain if I remember correctly.”
“What?”
You turned your head and felt Schlatt’s arms wrap around your waist and held you close to his chest. The touch was protective and you felt your heart skip a beat, why was he protecting you, and why did you actually feel protected?
“Has the drinking finally caught up to you? Or was it the fact that you lost your so-”
Was that Dream's voice?
“Shut the fuck up.” He snarled and you were shoved behind him into Quackity’s arms, you felt less protected. “I’m not that person anymore and you fucking know that,” Vendetta came to stand beside the both of you a hand was placed on your shoulder protectively. You knew she was desperately wanted to step in and you held up a hand to stop her.
“This isn’t good…” Quackity murmured, “They’re going to fight. Schlatt’s going to get himself fucking killed.”
“Calm yourself. We won’t let it get that far.” Ven grumbled eyeing you waiting for your signal. But you were lost in the conversation or argument, the two were having, you couldn’t believe Schlatt was a pirate. He was so...he just didn’t...he was a drunk okay? That didn’t exactly shout feared pirate to you!
“Oh, are you sure? I remember that look, that’s the look you’d get before you stomped someone’s lights out. No wonder your son disappeared under mysterious circumstances-” Dream was shoved against one of the poles holding up the building. He grunted and Schlatt’s arm was pulled back ready to punch, but his arm was stopped by smaller hands,
“Pardon me Mr. Schlatt but you know how we feel about fighting in our tavern.” Addie bubbled, she had a smile on her face but it wasn’t kind, it was full of warning.
“Get the fuck off me, sheepie. This doesn’t fucking concern you.” Schlatt shoved her away and as soon as his skin made contact with her body he made a sound of distress.
“(Y/n)...” Addie murmured quietly, your father’s dagger was embedded in Schlatt’s arm,
“Fucking hell you bitch!” He snarled baring his teeth, you glared at him twisting the dagger he yelled in agony.
“Touch one of my girls again and next time this dagger is going right into your back.” You ripped the dagger out, splattering the floor with blood. He grabbed his arm tightly and looked at you with slight betrayal in his yellow eyes. “I mean it Schlatt, Quackity take him home.” The man nodded looking at you longingly, he muttered a quiet ‘Sorry’ before escorting him out of your tavern. “You,” You glared harshly over at Dream, “Go to your room.”
“You’re not my mother.”
“Then find another play to stay.” You spat, he turned away and you looked over at Addie, “Are you alright?” Your voice turned tender as you cupped her cheeks. She nuzzled against your palms and nodded her head,
“I’m fine. You didn’t need to-”
“Yes, I did. No one messes with you. With any of you on my watch.”
The sheep hybrid made a little sound as her bottom lip trembled, she wrapped you in a tight hug which you accepted without hesitance. Judas walked over next and wrapped you both in her arms, pretty soon you were surrounded by your girls and Zig.
All of them had the same mindset: comforting both you and Addie.
It was good to be loved.
Wilbur watched the scene curiously and glanced over at Technoblade who stood up from his chair.
“I think that’s our cue to leave for the night.” He looked over at his first mate, Wilbur nodded in agreement grabbing his guitar from the chair beside Technoblade.
“They...Techno were they talking about Tubbo.” Tommy whispered to his brother, his brow furrowing in concern as they all climbed the steps up to their room, “You don’t think-”
“It just might be Tommy.” Technoblade tilted his head to the side, “Guess that’ll be something we ask him when we get back to the ship tomorrow.”
“Well, this trip is going to be way more fun than I thought.” Wilbur snickered lighting a cigarette, taking a long drag, before letting the smoke curl out of his mouth and up into the rafters. ~~~

Sleep & Sympathy | Para
Featuring: Juniper, Sky & Cliff Wilson. Mentions of: Chris Grimaldi & some of the other Wilson offspring When: Mon. Sept. 5, 2022, late morning Notes: Juni’s parents are back in town to meet their youngest grandchild! Meanwhile, Juni has a meaningful conversation with their parents. Triggers: Mentions of SIDS & PPA
Juniper was happy to have their parents in town. The two had originally booked their tickets for this date, with plans to stay for over a week, anticipating that their grandchild would arrive some time this week and they would be there to help out. But when Atlas made his debut almost two weeks earlier, Sky and Cliff accepted phone calls and Facebook video calls to get by until they touched down at SFO. Their check-in at the hostel was swift before they took an Uber to Chris’s mansion.
Now seated side-by-side on one of the couches, the two grandparents appeared to be in heaven with Atlas drifting back to sleep in Cliff’s arms and Sky positively gushing over every single yawn, every curl of his fingers into fists, and every pucker of his lips as though he was nursing the air. Juni was seated in a nearby arm chair, watching her son and her parents. She’d taken some photos with her cellphone and already sent them to both of their phones, and she’d shown them both what the nursery looked like upstairs, now that everything from the shower had found a place in the mansion.
When asked by their mom how they were doing, Juni gave their answer some serious thought before answering. “I’m okay, I think. Well... I know I’m very...” They tried to find a better word than ‘paranoid’ but really couldn’t think of one in the moment. “I still tend to worry a lot about Atlas when he’s sleeping, if no one is holding him or he’s not near me. I know it’s not entirely rational and I’m being paranoid, but I can’t help it.”
“Because of Reed,” Cliff guessed, holding no judgement in his voice.
Juni nodded, not meeting either of their parents’ eyes and instead fixing their gaze on Atlas.
Sky and Cliff exchanged a glance and then Sky spoke up. “Oh, honey, it’s not an entirely irrational thought, and believe me when I say that you’re not alone in it. Holly, River, and Autumn all worried about SIDS too when their children were born. Even Glenn worried somewhat when Felicity was a baby, and he and Robin don’t really remember Reed. It’s natural to worry, especially after having gone through such loss and grief. Even if you hadn’t, you’re a parent now. Parents--the good ones anyway--spend their lives worrying about their children.”
“It comes with the job description of loving them,” Cliff added with a gentle smile. “You’re always going to want what’s best for your child and with that comes with the wonder and worry for them--if they’re happy, healthy and always know that they’re loved. Even when the first two might sometimes be out of your control, you’re never going to stop loving them, or stop trying to do what you can to provide or add to their happiness and good health. And you, Junebug, are without a doubt one of the most loving people I have ever known.”
Her hormones still hadn’t leveled out, so Juni found herself tearing up easily before her father had finished speaking. She wiped them away and nodded again as her mom asked, “Have you talked with Chris about your worries, Juniper? You don’t want to carry something like this on your mind without your partner knowing.”
“I have,” Juniper assured. “He’s been understanding and comforting, and we’re taking the precautions that we can--monitors mostly, and he’s been sleeping in our room since we came home from the hospital.”
“And what about your midwife, or your doctor? Have you talked to them?”
Tucking their bottom lip in, Juni nodded again. “Atlas’s pediatrician, actually. At his first check-up. She had me fill out a questionnaire and recommended I make an appointment with my midwife to talk about..um.. Postpartum Anxiety?” At this point, they were frowning, their eyes back on a slumbering Atlas. “I hadn’t heard of it before, but she thinks I should talk to my midwife about it.”
Sky gave her husband’s forearm a squeeze and then she stood to pull Juniper to their feet and into a hug. Juni hugged their mom back and quietly cried, wishing that they could feel more at ease and worry less--a normal amount of worry, whatever that looked and felt like. They were happy, but they couldn’t shut off or lessen the worry that stayed with them, day in and day out since Atlas was born. They’d hardly slept because of it, even when Chris encouraged them go nap. And they were rarely out of Atlas’s sight for long. They checked the sock monitor on Atlas’s foot frequently and always double, sometimes triple-checked it before lying him down. When nursing him, Juni was keenly focused on the infant’s breathing pattern, and whenever they pumped or folded laundry, or ate a snack, they would do so while keeping an eye on a sleeping Atlas.
“Are you feeling sad or depressed too?” Sky asked, her voice quiet against Juniper’s shoulder.
At that, Juni shook their head. It took a few tries before they were able to verbally respond. “N-no. Not really. Just... worried. Anxious. The arrest situation had me stressed and a little depressed. I worried that how I’d been feeling then played a part in me going into labor ahead of my due date. But I’ve talked a lot of that out, which really helped. But the worried feeling hasn’t gone away. I’ve been really happy too though... happy that Atlas is here and that Chris and I have both been able to spend so much time with him.” They drew back from their mom enough to wipe their eyes again and then spoke on, “He hasn’t been without either or both of us since he’s been born. And I’m happy that he has all four of his grandparents in his life, and so many aunts, uncles and cousins, and pseudo-aunts and uncles in mine and Chris’s friends. And it’s not just Atlas’s arrival that’s made me happy lately. Chris has too.”
Juni was thankful that it was just them and their parents present at the moment. Talking with them alone made it much easier to have a steady conversation compared to conversations with two or more of their siblings around too. Juni loved them, of course, but just thinking back to trying to tell them about their relationship with Chris, back on the island, and that they were pregnant was evidence enough that it was easy to get lost in the shuffle.
They didn’t have the ring to show it yet, but it didn’t stop Juni from telling them, “He proposed to me, and I accepted. We’re going to get married.”
Her mom stilled in front of her, except for her eyes growing wide like saucers. Her dad lifted his gaze from his grandson to his child and he smiled--the corners of his eyes crinkling. At the same time that Sky’s arms flew around their shoulders, Cliff said, “Wow, kiddo. Congratulations!” in a gentle but sincere tone.
“Oh, Juniper, dear, that’s wonderful!” Sky cried, squeezing Juniper as tightly as hr slender arms would allow. “When did this happen? How did he propose? Did he tell you we gave him our blessing already?”
Juni smiled as their freckled face started to redden, thinking about the proposal--and what all took place prior to. But aloud, they said, “Well, he proposed the night before the baby shower. We were in bed, talking. I’d commented on how he gives me forehead kisses a lot, and he said that he noticed that they make me smile, and he wants to make me smile every day for forever.” Sky was punctuating the end of each sentence with a squealing noise, hands pressed to her cheeks while her child went on, “And then, he showed me a picture on his phone of the ring he’s designed for me. It isn’t ready yet, and he told me I didn’t have to answer then, but he asked if I’d want to marry him.”
“Did you?” Cliff asked, genuinely curious.
“Of course she did!” Sky replied, giving her husband a reprimanding flap of her hand while keeping her eyes on Juniper. “You did, right?”
Juniper chuckled at her parents, “Yes, I did. I had no reason to wait to give him an answer. We love each other, we make each other happy, and we both want the same thing--to spend the rest of our lives together.”
“And you’ve both got Atlas,” Cliff pointed out. “Getting married will be another beautiful layer to add to your existing family.”
Nodding and wiping one more tear away, Juni said, “Yes. Family is something we’ve been on the same page about since we first talked about me being pregnant.”
“And I’m sure Atlas won’t be an only child, right?” Sky asked, eyes still wide and full of hope.
Cliff chuckled, “Sky, they just had their first. Let them enjoy their time with him before pestering them for more grandchildren--not to mention now they’ll have a wedding to plan.”
Juniper’s face was heating up again but they were smiling again as they said, “Atlas won’t be an only child forever, Mom. Chris and I have talked about that before. But Dad’s right, about the wedding planning.” She smiled a fraction more, “I think between that, tending to Atlas, and Chris’s film projects, we’re going to have our hands full for a while.”
Sky grinned, “Of course, dear, of course! But you know, there’s nothing that says you two couldn’t end up with Irish twins, like Holly and River!” She winked and Cliff coughed a small laugh.
Juni just turned more red, mentally considering that Atlas wasn’t planned and yes, that was a possibility, but one that they couldn’t spend too much time thinking on for right now. “Well. We’ll see. I definitely have some healing to do before we put much focus on a sibling for Atlas.”
Sky’s grin softened greatly into a look of more understanding than before. “That’s good, dear. Truly. Your body needs time to physically heal, but allow your mind that same sort of grace too, okay? Not only is labor taxing on the body and mind, but everything you have told us would absolutely warrant you giving yourself time to heal in every way possible. Just know that while we may live two states away, we’re here for you, okay?”
Juniper nodded, “Okay. Thank you, Mom. Thank you, Dad,” and with a light smile, hugged her mother, and then moved towards her father to give him a one-armed hug across his shoulders. Atlas was still peacefully sleeping; it was a sight she couldn’t get enough of, even when she was very, very tired.
Cliff looked from his grandson to his child, noticing the weary expression and dark circles forming under her bright blue eyes. “Have you got anything you need to take care of right now, Junebug?”
Juni thought about this for a moment and then shook her head. “I don’t think so. I’ll have to pump again later, but right now, there’s nothing I can think of. I wanted to make sure Atlas and I had time to spend with you.”
“Well, I’ll tell you what,” Cliff spoke, rising from the couch with his grandson still secured in his arms. “You know your mom and I are old pros at this, and you’re close by. Would you want to try and take a little nap?” He saw the panic flit across Juni’s face and then calmly assured her, “Just here on the couch. You’ll be close. Your Mom and I will be right here with him and if anything happens, we’ll wake you right up, okay?”
Juniper frowned, trying to think of a retort other than, ‘It’s okay, I don’t mind’ in regard to staying awake, but their Mom had knelt in front of the couch next to Juni and gently insisted, “You need your rest, Juniper. Even if all you sleep for is an hour--half an hour, you’ll be an even better parent than you already are if you get some sleep. And it’s like your Dad said: We’ll be right here and stay in this room with Atlas while you rest.” Sky rested a hand on Juniper’s kne while gazing up at her with calm but hopeful eyes.
The idea of a nap sounded inviting and alarming at the same time. But Juni  knew that they were extremely sleep-deprived and not just because of the nightly feedings. After a handful of pensive passing seconds, Juni nodded, “Okay... just... just for a little while. Please wake me up though if--”
“We will,” her mother promised, giving her child’s knee a squeeze. “Now go ahead and lie down, here, dear.” And as Juni did so, Sky reached for the afghan draped along the back of the couch and pulled it down to cover most of Juniper’s body.
It look Juni several, long minutes to quiet their mind enough to close their eyes but once they did, it was only another minute after that before Juni’s breathing evened out and they’d willingly given in to some sleep.
