Salads can be very versatile, and everyone enjoys them in different ways. No matter how you like your salad, there’s something for everyone on the Salad Bar.

The fifth in a series of one shots exploring the sexuality of our beloved crew with an equal mix of humor and hotness.

He loved the time and care that was needed in every step. Thoughtfully selecting the right produce, bringing it home to gently wash and carefully cut. Peppers that were crisp, giving just the faintest bit of resistance as the knife sliced into its skin, creating thin strips. He always set aside an extra handful to nibble at while he worked. The mushrooms were much more soft and supple, needing to be treated more gently. Washed caringly of their dirt and grime before turning them into delicate little slices. Zucchini was next, thick skinned but still soft on the inside. It didn’t need nearly as much time on the burner, just enough to get it soft without losing structure. Last but not least, the tomato. Adding the juicy cherries right at the end, giving them enough time to warm without blistering. Every single ingredient needed special attention, giving it its own time as the flavors all built into a full bodied experience.

He's watching her intently as her lips leave his neck, hands sliding down his thighs. As she parts his knees and kneels down between them. There are three dead Vice Kings in the room with them, blood seeping into the cracks in the concrete.

It smells vile.

There's this certain haziness about her. In her eyes---like she's not all there. Gat watches, a little longer than he should, sinking into the tattered, almost moldy couch in the VK hideout as she fumbles with his belt. She's always a little gone, always, but not when they get close like this. No, not once.

For once he's actually skeeved out by it. Doesn't want this. Doesn't want what's about to happen.

Johnny takes her jaw in his hand, angles her face up to look at him. "You straight?" the words don't feel right; not nearly tender enough for this but he's never been one for words and he isn't delusional enough to pretend to be now.

He can see it in her face how hard she's thinking. Like the words need to make more of an effort to reach her. His stomach lurches. Christ, Xixi's more than gone right now. Johnny rubs his thumb against the soft skin of her cheek, her jaw still resting in his palm. And he nods over to the space next to him. Its almost funny---all this tenderness from Johnny Gat of all people. If Xixi were really here, really present, the irony would have her in stitches.

She uses his thighs for leverage as she gets up off her knees, her movements slow. Hazy. Whatever she took is hitting her like a fucking truck now.

Xixi blinks, "What's wrong?"

"What's wrong? You're high as shit. That's what's wrong." She only shrugs him off. "What'd you take?"

"Nothing you need to worry about."

"That's not what I fuckin' asked though, is it?"

"Gat, I'm fine. I'll sleep it off---always do." and she sinks into the deteriorating couch like she's begging it to swallow her whole. Xixi brings her hands up to her face. "'So stupid."

Nudging her shoulder with his, he glances over at the bodies. Almost forgot about them. They need to get gone soon or they'll end up with another fight on their hands. He takes her wrist lightly in his grasp, tries to pull it down away from her face. His way of saying you can talk to me without actually having to say the words.

It feels like it'd kill him to say it.

She shoves him away rougher than she means to, he thinks. Shoots up off the couch and sets her gun in the waistband of her jeans. "I'm going home." its so quiet, the way she says it. Makes something in his chest ache a little. He doesn't like it one bit.

Instead of saying anything, Gat watches as she leaves through the door, listens to the roar of her car's engine. He knows she's in no state to get anywhere, knows he should run out and stop her. Offer to drive her home. But he lets her go. Sits there a while, just him and the bodies.

He buckles his belt. Gets the hell out of dodge.

Combining the club jams of the Black Eyed Peas with the spectacle of The Wizard of Oz required a bigger cast and more locations than their first two videos. Trivia:

According to PattyCake's Instagram teasers, it took 68 yards of fabric to make Glinda's voluminous gown, 2500 hand-stiched sequins to cover each pair of ruby slippers, and 57 pounds of actual tin to make the Tin Man's armor.

The Lullabye League is portrayed by Layne's step-daughters.

Jonathan Shane Ferrell isn't just one of the munchins. He's also one of the artists from Makeup & Creative Arts who provided the incredible character prosthetics.

PattyCake released their first public blooper reel for this project, and it is very fun.

The team at Makeup & Creative Arts released a time lapse prosthetics demo video for their Oz collection a couple years later with Dan Varnum donning the Lion's mane, Kathy Castellucci reprising her Wicked Witch role, Geoff Castellucci going gray silver as the Tin Man, & Paul Kaleka getting stuffed into the Scarecrow's burlap.

Rachel slipped back into Dorothy's gingham dress the following year to play Judy Garland in PattyCake's "La La Land" video.

Tony had performed "Let's Get It Started" many, many times during his decade as Dracula in the "Beetlejuice Graveyard Revue" at Universal Studios.

"Let's Get It Started" was also part of the opening medley for VoicePlay's second episode of The Sing-Off, though not the section the guys were featured in.

Layne had previously created a remix of "I Gotta Feeling" back in 2010 through his studio, Rayne's Room.

"If you hit a bat with a broom, it's obvious it'll turn into your classmate in a poof of smoke. Dead in your living room. Yup. I've finally gone insane!"

A university art student who left home to study under a scholarship. As he works day shifts at a café, most of his classes are during the night: his classmates are…unique. Turns out most humans aren’t supposed to see—or even be drawn to—the night class offers, yet he remains oblivious of this fact for months. Perhaps, this started from the moment he got that scholarship... Raymundo’s passionate and emotionally driven, owner of a fiery temperament and an intimidating glare that often keeps people away. Old habits die hard and he’s too used to being on the defensive to save himself pain, but even so his heart constantly peeks out his sleeve (literally, if you count the birthmark on his wrist). If you talk to him for more than a couple minutes, you’d find a friendly guy who’s just too worried and overly conscious about being judged by others. His closest friends, Marina and Niko, are all the way back home and while Ray tells himself he can well survive as a loner, he longs to connect to others. Now, if his classmate Angelo would stop being a jerk, they might even become friends…?

Angelo Valentini - ♠️🃏 Self Proclaimed Cryptid

"I'm not dead, you fool. Now, could you take me out of this closet? It's quite cramped..."

(Do vampires count as cryptids? Angelo would say that yes). He's Ray's classmate in some of his classes, and assistant to the head of university; one of the few people who gets to see them in person. His main interest lies in fashion but he enjoys studying a large range of subjects to make up for lost time (and now he has immortality worth of it). No one knows where he goes during the day, or where he lives, or really—much about him. He’s a man with past regrets, and a future he doesn’t knows what to do with. Upon a first impression, Angelo appears as someone of few words, serious and distant; he’s blunt and to the point and this often causes him to come off as rude (sometimes on purpose, sometimes not, but he doesn’t usually care). Logical and calculating, he leaves little room for emotion. It all betrays a secret playful side, and a softer, caring personality reserved for a select few. At first, he and Ray don’t see eye to eye and clash often. But with time, some snacks, close encounters with vampires—and one Christmas where Ray hit him with a broom, they start to become friends. He's also Danielle's ex. But that is a far longer story.

Having become a vampire, his complexion actually got better in some aspects (wounds heal faster) but if you take a close look, his body retains the memory of his habits as a human (and he still sucks at taking care of himself). -Tallish, around 1,70cm, long legs -Day to day, he usually wears dress pants, shirt and vest (no tie, but sometimes a cravat), which makes him stand out amidst more casually dressed students (Ray joked once he dressed LIKE a vampire). He enjoys a wide range of fashion, though, particularly long elegant dresses (one of his favorite pieces to make, as well). -As a human (disguise or past self),aquamarine/emerald green eyes, otherwise red; large bat ears/fangs/etc. -In bat mode, he’s an albino fruit bat. Misc: -Gay, demiromantic; he's slept with multiple people across his mortal and immortal life, but only loved one (so far). If not for him, he may not have become a vampire... -Back in the day, he learned to sew and often crafted clothes for himself or his sister due to lack of money. However he quite enjoys it. -Knowledgeable in Gambling/Cardgames: he learned many games and gambling techniques to make money. -Cryptid hunter: the truth is out there...

Hope everyone who celebrates had a relaxing and fun Thanksgiving! After we’ve been starved for BTS, cast and crew gifted us with some juicy ones this week. First up - Anthony Natale, a.k.a. Capt. Thom, rewarded us with yesterday’s cast meal - on the Claw set!

Something about seeing our beloved cast having a meal in the Claw warms my heart. There were a few posts from yesterday that clued us in that production was pushing through the holiday, including Thomas Cadrot (Jonas Glass) sharing that it was a wrap for him on ND in ep. 10 (can’t wait to see him in action!). I’m sure the American cast and crew are sad to be away from their families but the show must go on. So much to unpack here! Love seeing Ace surrounded by his onscreen parents (including Nicole Oliver who plays Rebecca), and this is the first confirmation that Jean Rosario is in S4 (Erica Serra). Melinda Hsu Taylor is onset to direct Ep. 11 (as well as being co-exec. producer). Check out the Claw coffee cups with little favors on top, and looks like they have special booklets - is it a breakdown for the rest of the season, or perhaps a special menu from the awesome craft team? Also loving the wardrobe, especially George’s tan vest and Nancy of course in a blazer and scarf combo. Did I mention Tunji looks amazing?

UPDATE: On further examination, the booklet is titled ‘Family Haggadah’ ! We now know from Ace and Nancy’s text chain from 404 that Ace is planning a Passover Seder dinner. This should be episode 11, and set in April of 2020 (when Passover fell in that year).

Next, we have to talk about Kennedy’s much welcomed chaos this week.

Both of these photos were taken earlier in the season based on her earlier posts in the same wardrobe, but Kennedy posting them now with her special brand of teasing is much needed to get us through this interminable hiatus. First the hilarious Nancy and George pic - i believe they are on the university set based on the timing (see my earlier post linked below). The looks on both of their faces are perfect. Who are they running from and to? And who’s next to Nancy - Ace? Nick? Ryan? Carson? Or a mystery cast member (played by Henry Zaga perhaps?). Kennedy’s wearing the same scarf/top combo from back in September so I suspect that’s when this pic is from.

The Nace pic is another thing entirely. Eagle eyed fans noted that the skulls are covering up SOMETHING. A symbol for the curse breaking ritual? A death mark? Is it a Weekend at Bernie’s themed episode as some fans have suggested, with Nancy and Ace just a little dead? Kennedy’s covering up of Ace’s wardrobe is also curious. We know from earlier posts from the same ep. (one from the Claw and one from Icarus Hall) he’s wearing some sort of light grey jacket. Looking at what’s peeking through, is it covering up dark colored scrubs perhaps? Or something to do with the ritual? A hospital gown? And what’s with Nancy’s purse? Absolutely maddening. And we love Kennedy for it. Also, earring. S4 can’t come soon enough.

We saw a few more fun photos and videos from the crew that hint at some new sets. Maddison and applebananapear posted videos of the same cow (the Crew visits the farm?!?) while Anthony Natale posted shots from the Claw exterior including Capt. Thom in the water! Is he going to save Ace?

There’s also an Airstream onset, which we got a glimpse of from the outside and the inside, courtesy of Thomas Cadrot and applebananpear respectively. Do we get to see our crew camping? Perhaps they’re on the run?

Last one I can squeeze into this post - a video of applebananapear sneaking a drink courtesy of sangalicious - from a hospital set (check out the Acadia Medical Center sign). It shouldn’t be a surprise that someone is in the hospital at this point in the season.

⸻⸻ ﹕ HALLOWEEN SPECIAL ⠀ › ⠀ THE GLASS CAFÉ.

when the month of october rolled around, GLASSHOUSE released a statement they will have their annual halloween special merged with KALEIDA and its own artists this year; the glass café, intended for the fans to take a closer look at both companies’ artists and have a chance to get served by them! the café looked like any other café – inspired by japanese host cafés, where you could meet your favourite artist and have a talk with them, while also grab a bite to eat! it was adorned with creepy dolls and skeletons, and drinks were named after the artists’ favourite horror movies. after six o’clock, the café would partly close and move to the building next door, where their escape horror house would officially begin! the company’s artists and professional teams would scare the guests and perform interesting acts for others. glasshouse inc. released an intriguing video two weeks before halloween explaining how to be the one to win a ticket to their café! you would pre-order a ticket like it’s a regular horror house, but the winners would be randomised so that everyone would get a chance to win! the customers would come in groups of fifteen to twenty people and stay there for approximately an hour. you would choose whether you want to be there during the day or at night. the people who didn’t win a ticket would then be sent an album of their choice from one of the company’s artists instead. a long video was released on their youtube page so that even international fans would enjoy halloween with their idols!

GLASSHOUSE and KALEIDA came together to celebrate halloween by mixing their artists and preparing a huge party after closing the glass café at eleven o’clock. the artists of the both companies mingled together, exchanging contacts and simply having the best time of their lives. the partying continued late in the night, and didn’t stop until every person was too tired to stay up and socialize. fans got a lot of content from every single artist that was at the party, accompanied with random instagram and vlive videos! multiple idols have made headlines for their stunning costumes and for being able to enjoy the halloween party with their newly made friends and labelmates!
