There's a recurring pattern of trios in MAWS
The interns (Lois, Clark, Jimmy)
The scoop squad (Cat, Ronnie, Steve)
Intergang (Silver Banshee, Roughhouse, Mist)
Task Force X (Amanda Waller, Slade Wilson, Sam Lane)
It seems like the pattern is:
Ambitious and assertive leader
Reluctant muscle
The hanger-on
There are, of course, strong variations.
Steve comments on being felt left out, but he might arguably fit "muscle" better. On the other hand, Ronnie is clearly Cat's right-hand woman, and while Steve is clowning around, she's the one who actually takes their research.
Slade is quite enthusiastic about his work, but he does chafe against orders if it means restraining his bloodlust. He's a much darker twist on the role. Meanwhile, General Lane starts out as the leader on paper, but Waller is clearly the more ambitious and ruthless one.
I feel like the way each team handles their third wheel is important:
Jimmy gets completely sidelined for a while, but Clark and Lois realize they made a mistake and include him in the future.
Steve is a part of the Scoop Crew, but he always feels left out. His antics are probably an attempt at getting attention.
With Intergang, Mist is the only one who has moral qualms about what they do. Petty crimes are one thing, but this has gone way too far, and his discomfort is growing.
Lane gets demoted and given a suicide mission by Waller. He's just a stepping stone on the road to her ambition, and Slade is an accomplice
I don't have a conclusion here. It's just an observation. I'll leave the conclusions to other people.

More art for @doverstar 's Chasing the Light!
Tumblr media
It's time for a villain spotlight!
I took inspiration from the 2004 Batman show for Rag doll's appearance, but also mixed the costumes of both Peter Merkel (OG) and Jr (His son) and mixed them together. Though I do recall in your written description in chapter 37, he was barefoot and had a once green shirt. I just didn't make the shirt oversized. I just really like The Batman (2004) I don't think it gets enough love. Also he looks creepier this way.
I don't know if he looks better with or without eyes, so I'll just leave it up to interpretation or just go back and re read Chasing the Light.
As for Nimbus I just drew him in the black outfit he wore in the show and made him look more threatening by making him look as if he's always in a partially gaseous state. I gave his eyes and skin a cool sickly green glow, along with black bubbles within the gas to show the toxicity of the gas.
Tumblr media
Now it's time for the Crime family duo!
I wanted Snart to look the same, but with a somewhat comic accurate coat with the gold belt and the cool goggles 🥽
Lisa on the other hand looks very different from her Tv show counterpart. I gave her back her comic book blonde hair and gave her a gold jacket, necklace, belt and her gun. I also kept the white shirt since her comic costume currently is gold and white. I feel like she wore more black than gold in the cw show, which is odd for someone called the Golden Glider.
Then again maybe she did, I mean it's been awhile since I've watched the Flash sooo.... yep.
I think I was just having fun making everyone look similar to the comics, but also still giving love to the Flash show. Although, they really need to chill out with the leather and muted colors on costumes. They're getting better, but my point still stands.
Tumblr media
Ignore my cyclops OC and focus on Earth-66 Wally West. He has a tool in his hand and is ready to make a difference in the world! He even has his mustard jacket and some red shoes! Even when he's not kid flash he's representing!
Had to find a reference pose for this one. I'll put a link for credit later when I find the reference again.
Tumblr media
And finally Savisnow❄️⚡
I took inspiration from the simplicity of the Bruce Timm style for his body's running pose and added some cool blue lightning designs to it.
Savitar telling Cait that she's stronger than him, because he knew frost couldn't beat her, UGH. MY HEART! The Savitar stealing Caitlin's chances of getting diabetes, because their HIS fries, but Caitlin knows he doesn't need fries to go to sleep. Smh.
Also, I give you the best for last.
Savitar running into that lamppost. Because we all needed to see that. Lol guess he's not as cool as he thought he was.
Sorry scarebear 🙃 Caitlin loves ya tho!
@doverstar if you see this, I love all your stories from Doctor Who, Mary Poppins, Jelsa to the Flash and Stranger things!
I am currently in love with your HellCheer fic! I wish Chrissy and Eddie got more time together 😭

ooh can you please do headcannons if Barry told captain singh about his powers first instead of Joe
thank you !
Ooh, that sounds like a fun one
Joe doesn't believe Barry about Clyde Mardon, but Eddie has a sketch that looks like him and overhears (kind of hard not to, with the yelling) Barry so certain it was Mardon. The Mardons are personal for Joe now, after Chyre's death, and Eddie makes the decision to get a second opinion from Captain Singh
Everyone at C.C.P.D. is aware of Barry's blog and his desperate search for the impossible, and most of them know why too, and pretty much no one believes him. And Barry just woke up from a coma, he shouldn't even be out of bed, maybe there's more going on. But Clyde Mardon is also the only lead they've got, so David nods and goes with Eddie up to that farm
Where they find Clyde Mardon
As canon, Eddie gets knocked out, but it's David facing Clyde and a tornado this time, when in runs this streak of lightning, and when it's over Clyde's lying dead on the floor and Barry Allen is standing there in a weird red suit with lightning in his eyes
Knowing about Barry's powers is why David lets Barry come right back to work. Joe, who does not know yet (after all, Joe's not believed Barry about a lot of things for a long time), is concerned about how quickly Barry wants to come back to work and tries to get David to keep him signed off for longer, but David tells him it's Barry's choice.
Like Joe, David has some issues with Barry deciding to race after criminals wearing a mask, albeit not for quite the same reasons as Joe, though he does admit C.C.P.D. have no idea how to handle metahumans, and as long as Barry isn't planning on taking after Star City's Arrow, maybe it can help. Providing Barry still gets all his actual work he's being paid to do done, and he sticks around at any crime scenes he interrupts to talk to the police to make sure they get actual statements (which also means people pick up the Flash exists faster).
The Pipeline's not happening though, if Doctor Wells and Mister Ramon think they have a way to contain metahumans it's being done legally and they can work with Iron Heights. Kyle Nimbus should convince them soon enough, and with David working on it, they can get that approved.
Because Joe doesn't know yet, Joe didn't make Barry promise not to tell Iris. Which means right after the show-down with Mardon, Barry races off to find Iris, to tell her about this- she knows what he saw that night, she knows what this means- and also to tell her her boyfriend's in the hospital.
Barry is more hesitant about trusting Eddie though- he doesn't know Eddie yet- which adds to the Eddie & Iris early disagreement about the Flash. Eddie doesn't believe him, then he doesn't trust him, whereas Iris refuses to even question he's anything less than a hero and a good person
Barry still gets whammied by Rainbow Raider, and it still goes poorly. He still goes after Eddie- Eddie's the representation of everything he's missed after all, him being Joe's partner and Iris' boyfriend both happened while Barry was unconscious, and what he's really angry with is that missing time everyone else got to live and he's never going to get back.
And Iris is going to be so conflicted so it's after he's back to himself Barry goes to talk to Eddie to tell him everything and loop him into the Flash's identity. And apologise, so much, but Eddie saw what Bivolo did to everyone else, they can figure this out
It's when Reverse Flash shows up at Mercury Labs Joe pulls out Nora's file. He's involved with the trap S.T.A.R. Labs set (David insisted they do it by the book), and what he sees reminds him so much of what Barry used to talk about he grabs it afterwards and flicks it open and takes another look. Surely it won't hurt, and he doesn't need to tell Barry unless he finds something.
Hartley shows up and the only thing that's different is he tries to flirt with David.
On the day that wasn't, Joe and David swap again- it's Joe Mark Mardon puts in the hospital initially, and David he tries the tidal wave plan with (Barry will gladly admit this is the worst possible way he could have finally met Rob). Caitlin still goes to try and distract Doctor Wells, but Cisco asks Eddie to come with him to investigate the failed trap, which was the right choice it turns out, he managed to pick the one person Eobard couldn't kill, and Eddie manages to get the message to Barry that Cisco's dead and Wells can't be trusted right before Barry time travels (or maybe causing it).
Henry finds out as canon after being kidnapped by the Tricksters, and after that is when Barry finally tells Joe, and Joe finally tells Barry he's reopened the case on Nora's murder
David insists on reporting Eddie missing when Harrison Wells- or rather, Eobard Thawne- kidnaps him. Just adding a few more things to their paper trail of evidence they can use against him eventually.
He's going to be so glad when they've caught the bad guy and he and Rob get to leave for two weeks for their honeymoon. Anything to get him away from dealing with superpowers for five minutes
Thank you!
[5+ headcanons for an AU]

Intergang: how MAWS can tap into its potential
Tumblr media
We’re halfway through My Adventures With Superman and I love this show a lot so far. It’s easily one of my favorite Superman adaptations and I love talking about it with my friends every week. The characters are all charming and understandable, I find the story very interesting so far, its animation is mostly solid and is carried by an art style I absolutely love, I can recommend it to just about anyone.
I will say though, one thing that kinda frustrates me about the show currently is how centered discussion is on Clark and Lois. And I get it, they’re the two main characters of the mythos as well as the show and they’re both very cute and very good characters. That being said, I feel like the other characters deserve their time to shine. Jimmy is my favorite character in the show so far and he’s (ironically) been pretty shafted in terms of discussion. The villains get it the worst though. Imma be honest, even if I can see the complaints for the villains all currently being tech based (even though that’s in favor of the story), it’s the writing on a fundamental level that I’m concerned about. And yes, I think that MAWS handles its villains far better than STAS. While STAS’s villains are very inconsistent, MAWS’s villains are all in the same ballpark in terms of writing and each and every single one of them deserves exploration. And I wanna talk about the villains that I think have the most potential: Intergang.
So let’s get stuff cleared up first since the episode keeps it vague and as such most people and the wikis don’t take this into account.
Tumblr media
Silver Banshee is Siobhan McDougal, that’s pretty clear in the episode. Mist in the episode is simply addressed to as Kyle, and a lot assume it’s Nimbus even though the episode never really states that, nor do the credits. However, he refers to Siobhan as his sister more than once, which Albert doesn’t do. And if we look at this promotional material, the article addresses Mist as Kyle McDougal. In MAWS, Siobhan and Kyle are biological siblings. Rough House isn’t biologically related to the two, rather a very good friend. This is another thing the episode doesn’t state but in MAWS, Rough House is Albert Donovan which references how Rough House is a clone working for Intergang in the comics and Dr. Dabney Donovan is a Superman rogue also from the comics who specializes in cloning. In fact, he made Rough House in the comics. So this lays out the dynamic of the group that a lot of people seem to miss: Siobhan and Kyle are biological siblings, Albert is found family. Pretty small potatoes compared to everyone else admittedly. Onto the main point: Intergang have the best dynamic out of any of the villains in the series so far.
I feel like the best way to put it is that Siobhan, Kyle and Albert sorta mirror Lois, Clark and Jimmy in a way. Given a lot of the drama in the later episodes, Intergang acts a reflection of the intern trio: not taken seriously and barely given opportunity to rise up. Main difference is that Intergang has been doing their schtick for a lot longer, and thus their bond is a lot closer. Let’s start with Siobhan:
Tumblr media
Siobhan acts as in a leader role not too far off from Lois. Siobhan genuinely cares for both Kyle and Albert but serves as the middle ground for Kyle and Albert’s back and forths instead. She also contrasts well with Livewire from the last episode, as Siobhan is constantly positive with the trio and searches for an opportunity to grab respect. She’s also leans harder into the leadership role than Lois does. Kyle and Albert follow her a lot more than Jimmy and Clark follow Lois (which may also have to do with their different positions) and she doesn’t exclude them from the dynamic because they all have the same end goal. Heck, Kyle and Albert burst into Stryker’s just to free Siobhan. Also, Siobhan in general just has a lot of that same energy that makes Lois so fun, just with some more punkishness to her and her respect for the people she loves is probably above her pursuit for respect itself.
And next up we have Kyle:
Tumblr media
This may surprise you but I think Kyle mirrors Clark the most for a few reasons. The biggest of which being caution. Siobhan and Albert share a LOT of the same energy together and Kyle basically acts as the straight man to their more active attitudes. Kyle acts pretty secretively compared to the other two with a big desire to hide their real names and is really critical of Albert especially. Their back and forths are basically that small crack in the trio as Kyle’s tolerance for the slip ups is not very high at all. It’s clear that he works with Albert for Siobhan’s sake but even then their first appearance shows that they’re willing to put aside a lot for the end goal and the trio functions well because of that. I’ve seen people push him aside and him getting cut from the opening does make me a little scared for the future but either way I love Kyle. He helps balance out the trio a lot and he’s very entertaining in general.
And finally, we have Albert:
Tumblr media
I definitely see Albert as the Jimmy of the group for… a lot of reasons actually. Rough House is the most consistently enthusiastic in the group, he’s a bit of a goofball, he can come off as frustrating to Kyle especially (while Lois and Clark more so see Jimmy as more of an oddball), and Kyle and Siobhan already have a connection that Albert’s not in, this time being the biological kind. The big difference? Albert is consistently included in the group. He’s clearly Siobhan’s best friend and Kyle brings him along to free Siobhan even while being frustrated with him. It actually makes sense to me that people refer to both Kyle and Albert as Siobhan’s brothers since yeah, Albert’s basically family to them.
Now, Intergang’s only got one episode so far and Superman’s villains are notorious for being underutilized. Whether it be Parasite, Livewire, Toyman or even Silver Banshee, they could always have room for more expansion. My hope is that MAWS will actually expand on its villains this time so how do I think Intergang can be expanded on?
First idea: contrast them with other villains. Livewire and Heat Wave both have gangs much bigger than the trio but Leslie puts her gang down and Heat Wave’s gang ditches her. Intergang functions much better as a unit even if Livewire and Heat Wave have more experience. Plus, compared to those two we haven’t gotten any glimpses on their reactions to Task Force X, mainly because they were the first ones captured after Livewire. Maybe make the trio more interested in what Waller offers compared to the other criminals. Or at least write it in a way where Task Force X, whether they oblige or resist, are their rise to fame.
Second idea: include Jimmy. I love Jimmy’s relationship with Siobhan in the Williamson run. Do I think it can work here? Absolutely! Both of them bring their respective trios together and their personalities would compliment each other well. I see it as with Clark and Lois dealing with relationship stuff, Jimmy ends up forming one with Siobhan and as a result is welcomed into the trio as a friend. Kyle would be suspicious but at the end of the day he just wants what’s best for his sister.
Third idea: SUPERPOWERS!!! Kyle and Albert I think work fine with just their tech but Siobhan’s definitely the odd one out. I feel like a storyline involving her gaining them would be really interesting, especially since we have seen what it would be like is Siobhan didn’t have control over what she ended up being capable of. Plus it could give more of Kyle and Albert working together for Siobhan and I’d be down to see more of that. Or Siobhan going solo for Kyle and Albert’s safety. Or Mist getting powers and Jimmy trying to help him out and both of them gain mutual respect, the possibilities are endless!
I’ll reblog and update this whenever we get more significant appearances from the trio, I feel like it’s pretty guaranteed we’ll see them again before season 1 ends. I made this because I love this trio, I feel like I’m the only one who cares about them and I feel like I’m the only one who’ll care if the show somehow manages to screw their dynamic up. Either way, I’m holding out hope and I also hope this little study got you more interested in the trio. Whether its fanart, fanfics, edits, what have you, show your love for MAWS Intergang if you can! I know I will.

Sure, I know I say "ohh nooo not Kyle" but also like. Yeah, i could see that. That would be really funny.
I think Kyle, if we get any answers, isn't going to be Prime. I'm not sure how they'd explain why Prime would want/need to change his name from Rick.
I also know this character from the car battery episode is named Kyle:
Tumblr media
He's from one of the tiny worlds inside the battery, so the "2.0" can imply that Kyle was "built," so that kinda makes more sense? But then how could Rick have known this Kyle, since he was created the same day as that episode? And Kyle's a very old name, multiple people can have it, even in a work of fiction, wherein it's recommended to give everyone a different name for organisation/memory reasons.
We just know Kyle was:
Someone Rick knew.
Rick doesn't hang out with anymore.
Rick refuses to talk about with Morty.
Fulfilled some sort of role similar to Morty's.
Was around when Mr. Nimbus was with Rick (Mr. Nimbus knew Diane, so Rick could have been in his thirties).

Earth 489: Teddy Knight
(A rarity for me to do this, but it's necessary, trigger warning, there's some mild mention of rape in this characters bio)
Born Kyle Theo Nimbus, Teddy Knight is the result of a non-consensual encounter between Jack Knight, the second Starman, and Nash Nimbus, the second Mist. His mother intended to raise him to be a villain, all while taunting his father about his existence. But thankfully it was not meant to be. In a tragic turn of events, Nash was murdered by her own father, her dying moments spent giving Jack their son. Renamed Kyle Theo Knight, the young boy would grow up with his father and step mother, as well as a half sister.
Teddy lived a happy life, though he knew of his maternal origins and family. He worried that his bloodline would corrupt him, turn him into what his mother wished for him to be. It was only when a third Mist, one unaware of the baggage the name once held, came to be. This young "Andie Murphy", a member of the Outsiders, inspired Teddy, gave him the courage to use his powers for good. With the Cosmic Rod belonging to Stargirl, and his grandfather's Gravity Rod long destroyed and the blueprints gone, when the time came, Teddy became the fourth person to call himself Mist, and the second to carry the name into the light.
Teddy joined the third iteration of The Justice Society, where he would meet Courtney Whitmore's successor, her sister Patricia Dugan. Although initially hostile towards her - unintentionally so, as he had some latent dislike for her using the Cosmic Rod - the two grew close and through time, their relationship took a turn for the better. With some help from another time period, Teddy and Patricia rebuilt the Gravity Rod and he became the next Starman.
Notes
Teddy was a bit bare bones when I first decided to add him. I admittedly hadn't actually known much about him or his history at first, but his appearance on the new JSA series inspired me to explore him more in depth. @lesbianbrainwave had some great posts that helped me along, mostly with me deciding to make him Starman rather then sticking with Mist, as I originally intended.
Teddy and Patricia was a crack ship that just came to me all of the sudden. The idea of two familial legacies connected to the stars converging together was appealing to me, and after realizing they were similarly aged, I just went ahead with it.
Andie Murphy is from Young Justice. Originally, I wasn't going to add her, but when I found that she was semi-popularly shipped with Livewire, I couldn't resist. I thought she would be a nice segway from all the horribleness that is the first two users of the Mist name.

Tbh “Kyle” just seems like some random previous boyfriend Rick had that Nimbus remembers. Maybe a combination boyfriend & adventure partner.
