As i know what overworking can do to someone, i was simp;y worried that Mark was overworking due to pushing out full comics everyday for over a year.

The writing section was there incase there were people who wouldnt believe me,I guess in my attempt of explaining i accidently was rude and mean. Again, this was not my intention. I am sincerly sorry.

Morningmark's Viney and Skara spin-off is really cool.

Especially when he has the story beats fit seamlessly into the corresponding Owl House episodes. I feel like this sort of thing remedies certain shows similar to The Owl House have in terms of hang-ups: an expansive cast that's largely set decoration but one that'd be too overwhelming for the writers to juggle.

Even with all the seasons with Disney staying in their lane (the best timeline), Lux, the Hex Squad and Eda are a good anchor for the show to stay focused so we don't have to keep track of everybody's business. Buuuuuuuut there's still that allure of what else is going on in the Boiling Isles.

What other stories are going on while the main protagonists are being, well, the main protagonists? This is sort of why I feel like some show appear "rushed" or "stuffed with too many characters" even when most are secondary characters who share the spotlight for when an episode calls for it.

But I like this sort of storytelling where we ask what was going on elsewhere at that moment leading up to here. It's kind of way, for all our bemoaning, why Star Wars is this successful with series like Resistance and The Clone Wars' final season display what was going on while the main characters were doing their thing.

Frankly, it's the sort of spin-off stories that should be afforded to more popular series.

from making @veemoringmark and @evilmoringmark I have scrolled through every moringmark comic since the owl house's release, that is 1204 comic as of me posting this, binge reading all of them is fun at first because moringmark makes good comics but I wouldn't recommend doing it in one sitting you'll eventually get bored and tired because even moringmark comics can get boring if you're reading 1204 of them, I would however recommend skimming through some older comics as they're really good

As much as I really love the show, surprisingly I don't have any headcanons for it. 🤔 But my appetite for post-show stories are well fed by Moringmark! They do really cool fan comics that expand the canon, so I guess in a way I mentally adopted their headcanons.

Listen, I've been and probably many others this too.

@moringmark needs to take a break. Atleast from The Owl House if not from comic's for his own mental health.

It cna be seen in the quality of his comics, mainly in writing.

Yes, there's the nonsense fluff, the romance, the comedy. The now post-finale adult stuff with kids.

But I want to talk about some stuff that I think could be harmful and a mockery to the LGBTQIA+ community.

NOTE: I do NOT think Mark did these intentionally. I think it is both being uniformed, burnt out out, and jsut trying to pump out comics fast to satisfy the fanbase, so he doesn't have much tiem research.

Either way, onto the first topic/comic I will speak of.

While it is sweet that Mark shows support in Pride month, he did it while basically not only comparing the struggles of the LGBT community to that of 'fighting a cartoon villian' , and that comparing our fight to that of TOH, is as if all we have to do is 'fight an evil guy' to win.

Which is false, and a bad dangerous mindset. As that is the mindset thsoe against us want.

As, if we kill one of the bigots, there will still be other bigots out htere.

It's best to just try to help them understand.

As they aren't doing this "for the sake of being evil" . it's because they are afraid of what don't understand, and are stuck in their old ways are thus a bit stubborn to try to understand.

But there ARE people who are willing to listen.

Not to mention, comparing our struggles to that of defeating a fictional cartoon villian is pure mockery. I'm sorry. The amount of people that die, and get beaten daily and get disowned jsut because they love the opposite gender, or they where born different ect. It's awful. And to compare that to that of defeating a cartoon is jsut infuriating.

Then there's the second topic/comic I want to talk about.

The whole idea that someone could figure out their sexuality/gender from a test especially a 'yes or no' test is just false.

It is a very bad thing to say especially with a following that has a ton of kids and young teens.

You figure your Identity out yourself through research, looking at yourself, looking at past events ect. And sometimes you dont fit right withing a perfect box, because sexualities and genders are very complex!

Only YOU can figure yourself out.

Not a test, not a quiz, no one but YOU.

As I said before, I'm not accusing Mark of anything. I simply think Mark should take a break as I can tell looking at his work from around a year ago that he seems burnt out. I mean Mark, you're cracking out comics EVERY DAY. Take a break.

And please next time ask someone (multiple people if you can) or do your one research before doing stuff on the LGBTQIA+ community. It's far better than going in blind assuming things are true or alright.

You're one of the most impactful member of the community right now, so please be careful.

Of course it counts. But. Nothing he's made gives me the impression he knows what being non-cishet is actually like. Like most of his stuff, it's all surface-level. Because being queer is not just fluff and maybe being slightly nervous you'll mess up your coming out. Maybe for the Boiling Isles ships this isn't an issue, but on Earth... there's a lot of baggage and community that comes with being queer. Because if your coming out turns out badly, the worst that could happen is not awkwardness, it is that you could literally die. We see jokes and funny coming outs here on tumblr, but that is with kids who are 100% sure that their parents will accept them. If there's even slightly a doubt, that is dangerous. I am fortunate that my parents have just been happy to completely forget that I'm nonbinary. Other people I know have been kicked out of their houses and are no longer in contact with their parents. Queer people gravitate to each other because community is rare and difficult to find. Morningmark doesn't get that, but he also doesn't get any in-jokes or any indication of the sheer relief living on the Boiling Isles would be to a young queer person. Here's a hint: homophobia is not some guy saying rudely incorrect things to the lesbian couple so that a straight guy can make them go away, or whatever trope Morningmark comes up with next. Homophobia is the politician passing laws to legislate you out of existence. Homophobia is the preacher telling your parents that you are a sinner if you accept who you are. Homophobia is the proud boys showing up with guns to your storybook hour. Homophobes are common, and they are not people you can reach with kindness or epic owns.

And being queer is fighting that. It's finding community with every queer person you can find. It's finding refuge from an unaccepting world with the people you meet who will accept you. It's in-jokes, found family, and deep friendship. It is deeply rewarding to be queer, but it is scary.

It's frankly quite insulting that Morningmark keeps insisting that Luz becomes friends with her bullies. Because Luz was canonically bullied for traits common to queer and neurodivergent (I could talk about that too; awkwardness and nerdiness do not a neurodivergent character make and Morningmark doesn't understand this either), insisting that her bullies think her girlfriend is awesome or like her palisman or whatever is, quite frankly, insulting. They hated her for those traits; you're saying that the solution to queerphobic, ableist bullying was to get more queer and more obviously neuroatypical? She should become more queer and more obviously neuroatypical for herself and completely ignore the bullies' attempts to force her back into any box because she doesn't care what they think. And that should be the end. Not everyone will accept you, and that is completely fine.

But nooo, everyone has to accept you! After all, there's no difference between you and straight couples. Love is love. Yaaaaay.

Im looking for an Owl House post from the last couple days that’s been on my mind and it’s driving me insane but I cannot find it.

It’s one of the new promo images, that whole gang plus Skara defending them from something out of frame. Someone zoomed in on something tied around Skara’s hip and commented that comic artist Morning Mark might have been right on the money about a plot point.

I have read every MorningMark Owl House comic since like season 2, I just spent the last hour and a half going through each one, and scrolling through the Owl House tag looking for the post (a death wish of a task, given the leak) and I cannot find the post, nor understand what it was referring to.

I’m losing my absolute mind. Which Morning Mark comic relates to the accessory Skara has? Does anyone have the post I’m referring to, or better yet the comic?
