photo subjects for all kinds of reasons, but there are some with which I am always hoping for certain things to happen and capture. Right now, the Redwinged Blackbirds are in perfect constant near-explode mode, which results in the most hilarious but also most gorgeous photos.
I dated a Birder who went on to get an entire doctorate in birds but my very qualified expert opinion on state birds is 'if Michigan had a different one it should be red winged blackbirds because of. I like them.'
I do, it's the Red-winged Blackbird! RWBBs are my 'spark bird', or, the bird that got me into birdwatching. I remember seeing a black bird with this bright bright red on its wings and thinking I'd never seen anything like it before. It turns out these birds have been all around me, in practically every place I've lived (their call is extremely nostalgic- it feels exactly like summer) but I'd never paid attention to them! I started to pick them out on my drives in the countryside, and it really made me want to pay more attention to what other birds I might be missing because I had mentally brushed them off as 'just a bird'- I wanted to know what these birds were! I also like them because they're one of the first non-yearlong-resident birds to make their way back to Indiana in the winter- seeing clusters of them lining the highways & perching on fences and power lines in late January/February is a sure sign that the seasons are in fact changing- and that even more birds will be following soon ^-^
RWBBs remain my favorite bird and I imagine will for a very long time <:3
things i wanna/ gotta draw and to put as a self reminder:
pieces for shark zine before end of july
something about barred owls
a shitty zine about my shape
continue bulldozing on twwm
get better refs of those from the animal in my brain
felting a split of dimorphic birds. maybe a RWBB.
felting a ████████
BUT for now i should take a bbreak so that i dont explode my wrist
for tonight but spring vibes are wafting through the yard like an unstoppable force. So far I have only heard Robins and not seen them yet but I am sure it won’t be much longer. The Grackles and Redwinged Blackbirds are filling the air with their distinctive raspy calls, and show off to each other in the sunshine. It is a time of promise that not even more snow can dampen.
I hate how many RWBB types I know are actually just into trannies, or want to be pegged, and all of them can't stop posting about wanting to kill themselves, etc. Couldn't be me
Another friend has arrived! He's my favorite, the red-winged blackbird! He's a round lil boi. I introduced him to the others and they loved him right away. It's funny that he's the smallest when RWBBs are the biggest birds of this group (minus the penguin of course) I think he loves his new home. ❤️💛🖤 Thank you for the pattern @minigurumi #amigurumi #plush #crocheting #crochet #crochetpattern #crochetanimal #originalphotography #shotonpixel #stuffies #artsandcrafts #yarn #yarnlove #amigurumipattern #amigurumiaddict #sparrow #mourningdove #penguin #redwingblackbird #bird https://www.instagram.com/p/ConhYilO_06/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
