Tumblr media
1. Who is the grumpiest in the morning
ZORO - He wakes up around 10am so anything earlier than that is just a pain in the ass [can relate]
2. Who worries more when the other is sick/hurt
SANJI - he worries about everyone but especially so with Zoro, he doesn’t like to show it because Zoro gets mad about being coddled so Sanji does his best to take care of him silently without being too bothersome, usually just leaving his favorite meals in little tupperware in the fridge for when Zoro’s built an appetite or leaves medicine and water on Zoro’s nightstand for when he wakes up in the middle of the night. This is their love language.
3. Who plays pranks on the other
SANJI - fueled more so by Usopp, Zoro acts like he minds but he has fun with it too. Especially since only 14% of Sanji’s pranks actually work lol
4. Who is always the first to suggest cuddling on the sofa
ZORO - They usually cuddle without any engagement, they just sit together and it flows into a cuddle naturally, but on days where Sanji is hyper-stressed and panicky, Zoro will drag him over to sit and hug out his frustrations
5. Who insists on creating nicknames for the other
SANJI - Sanji insists on pet names and Zoro insists on calling him adulterated versions like booby/boob instead of baby/babe, dartboard instead of darling, shitty instead of sweetie, horny instead of honey, etc etc. Sanji hates it but sometimes he likes it cuz at least the dumbass is doing SOMETHING amirite?
6. Who says ‘I love you’ first
ZORO - during a particularly dull day when they’re just hanging out and yeah maybe it’s kinda boring and Sanji doesn’t look particularly happy but still very relaxed, Zoro looks over at him and feels all the content and peace he could ever hope for and just says it out loud. The abruptness of it all shocks Sanji but he absolutely swoons. Nothing makes him happier than knowing that Zoro said it first
7. Who’s the messiest one
ZORO - ”It’s called organized chaos, cook. Do not touch my stuff”
8. Who feels the most uncomfortable about PDA
SANJI - he’ll flirt in public, he’ll fight in public, but holding hands and kissing his man for all to see makes his heart flutter and his breath catch and he’s so bashful he freezes in a panic. If Sanji is going to kiss or touch Zoro in any way, he’s gonna go all the way. Can’t do that in public
9. Who’s the funniest drunk
SANJI - He thinks he can dance when he’s drunk and proves himself wrong every time
10. Who texts the most
BOTH - Sanji likes to text sweet nothings, Zoro likes to send memes
11. Who has the most embarrassing taste in music
NEITHER - okay maybe Zoro, but that’s only because Perona added a bunch of music to his phone without his permission that one time. Also, he likes Nickelback. I like Nickelback. Fuck you all, we don’t need your approval
12. Who reads the most
BOTH - Sanji reads biographical cookbooks, and travel and food blogs. Zoro reads motorcycle magazines and reddit. I read fanfiction, not that anyone asked lol
13. Who’s better with kids
ZORO - he has the patience for it and always instills discipline in naughty brats. Sanji has no patience for kids, is always ready to bro down with a 3rd grader, and will tell dirty jokes and trip them while they walk. Sanji is a prick but he would make a good dad. That is until their kids become teenagers.
14. Who’s the one that fixes things around the house
ZORO - Zoro can fix a leaky faucet, realign gutters and Spackle a wall. He may not be able to build anything like Franky but minor repairs are easy. He can however rebuild a car engine.
15. Who cooks and who cleans up
BOTH - Sanji may be the chef in the relationship but his job can be taxing so Zoro takes charge in the kitchen every once in a while. During their first month together, Sanji came home really late to find Zoro had made stew and was impressed by how good it was. “I can make this much, ya know. It’s just meat and veg in a pot; what’s difficult?” Zoro has always been able to cook basic meals and Sanji loves it when he’s being taken care of. Chores are done when they are noticed; whoever is available does it. It’s an unspoken agreement they have. You see something, you have free time; just do it.

Going to a Summer Carnival With the Strawhats
<Strawhats x Gn!reader>
Tumblr media
(Self indulgent because there’s a carnival in my town and it’s super fun)
Luffy
☆*:.。He’s running to the food vendors as soon as he sees them and ordering everything. He would probably go crazy over the bbq ones.
。Since were talking about Luffy here, he’s obviously going to want to ride every crazy ride there is available. You can yell and fight all you want but he’s dragging you along. I believe he would be very attracted to the zero gravity ride or the swinging pirate ship!
。Make sure to keep him away from the gold fish-prize games though, or they’ll end up like the other fish in the Sunny’s aquarium..
Tumblr media
Zoro
☆*:.。If there’s any games that require strength, he’s your golden ticket. You will get that giant cheaply made stuffed animal no matter what.
。If there’s a beer garden of some kind, you’ll probably find him there when he’s missing. It would be a good idea to stick around and share a drink with him to cool down.
。If there’s a firework show later into the evening, he’s not opposed to laying on the ground with you and watching- just make sure he doesn’t fall asleep.
Tumblr media
Nami
☆*:.。She’s trying to bargain with any jewelry or clothing vendors because she knows everything is overpriced to the max. And because it’s Nami, she’ll probably get her way or storm off to the next sales tent.
。She isn’t the biggest fan of the food that’s around, but she might pick up a lemonade or a caramel apple to share with you.
。The high swings are going to be one of the few rides she’ll go on, and it will be her most loved one. Spinning around and having a good view makes the ride her favorite.
Tumblr media
Usopp
☆*:.。Like Zoro, if you need assistance with any games that involve aiming, Usopp is your best man. You want that prize up there? One moment and it’s all yours.
。He’s also visiting all the vendors tents and buying whatever. Who knows what he’ll find; but it probably won’t be worth the money he spent.
。He’s a little frightened by some of the larger rides that are around (like the mach tower or the roller coaster) so it will take some coaxing on your part to get him to ride with you.
Tumblr media
Sanji
☆*:.。He’s judging the food and cooks, knowing he could make something better than them for cheaper. He probably won’t say anything to the cooks faces though, which is a relief.
。If you want any prize or item, he’s getting it for you. Just you wait, he’ll come running up to you with whatever crazy prize your eyes wandered towards.
。He’s all over you the whole time you’re there, and loves holding your hand while walking around the various stands and tents with you. Sanji will probably pull some lovey-dovey move and kiss you at the top of the ferris wheel too. He just can’t help himself.
Tumblr media
Chopper
☆*:.。Chopper is especially excited about all of the sweets that can be bought. A cone of cotton candy is going to be the highlight of the day for him.
。He makes sure everyone is staying hydrated if it’s warmer out. Has some sun screen in a small bag and will pester everyone about putting some on.
。Don’t even try to get Chopper to go on rides with you! Most of the actual rides are terrifying to him. He’s willing to go on a carousel, and maybe some bumper cars, but that’s it.
Tumblr media
Robin
☆*:.。She’s going to be walking around the park and visiting ignored vendors and emptier attractions. The crowded parts only waste time.
。The ferris wheel is going to be her ride of choice, the breath taking view of everything and you next to her makes it the perfect attraction.
。If you decide you want to play any games with her, it will be funny to watch her use her devil fruit to assist her.
“What do you mean that ball didn’t knock down that bottle, don’t you see the bottle on the ground?”
Tumblr media
Franky
☆*:.。The giant tents with fire performers and stilt walkers and all of the other crazy acts? Franky is right in there. It would mean a lot if you sat through the performance with him!
。He’s going to go get one of the largest containers of cola that money can buy. And since it’s a carnival, there’s going to be gallon-sized cups.
。He’s on the go-karts the moment he sees them. Any tickets you have will be immediately used to get a kart for you and him. And if he sees one, he’s definitely having a try at a mechanical bull.
Tumblr media
Brook
☆*:.。You can find him parked on a bench watching whatever live concert is going on, singing along with the crowd.
。His height and flashy clothing (and the fact he’s a skeleton) will attract some unwanted attention to him, but he doesn’t mind, and cracks many jokes about it with you.
。The haunted house will be very fun for him, both employees and participants in the house thinking he’s one of the props. His laughs will echo throughout the attraction the entire time he’s there.
Tumblr media
Jinbe
☆*:.。A carnival isn’t exactly his type of fun, but being around you and seeing you happy is good enough.
。Relaxing at a beer garden or watching a performance with you would be his favorite part of your outting.
。He doesn’t mind going on any rides with you, but tries his best to make sure nothing happens. At a drop on a rollercoaster, you can feel his hand fiercely gripping yours.

Marco and you have always been good friends, really good friends. You love him as much as he loves you, yet, you too never ever had any romantic or sexual interaction before. You are so close, people usually think you two are a couple, yet you aren’t. Still…
You > Oiiii pineapple birb, are you up for tonight’s party at Izo’s? Pineapple Birb > Oi Tontatta, yeah. Be ready at 8.
“Tontatta? What does he mean with “Tontatta”??... OH…” you say while throwing the phone to the bed and realizing he was mocking you by your short height. “You fucking giant pineapple…” you grunt as you enter the shower.
-----
The sound of Marco’s pick up horn announces he is already waiting for you outside. You take your bag and keys and head out.
“G’Night” you say, struggling to enter the vehicle. “Why the hell did he buy such a big car?” you think while stretching your arm to close the door. Of course, you fail in the first attempt so the doctor bends over you and closes the door. Marco is not huge but compared to you it’s pretty big. He pats your lap, strongly, laughing. “Why the hell are you so tiny?” he says. And you can’t help but squirm a little on the seat thinking about his huge hand over your thigh in a friendly way that you wish was with other intentions.
Rolling your eyes you tell him to stop making fun of you and start driving. “Fineee” he says and hits the gas. Music blasting suddenly makes you forget about the touch of his hand over your thigh and you two sing -shout- “Good 4 U” by Olivia Rodrigo.
Marco parks over Izo’s house. He descends the pick-up and helps you. “Jump to pappa” he says, laughing. You frown and burn holes into his eyes. “Shut up” you say as he snatches you from under your shoulders and puts you down on the street. You are surprised, he has never helped you like this. Still, you act annoyed, “Who does he think he is to treat me like this?” you think.
Walking towards the door, you can see from the window the shadow of a boy wearing a straw hat running around. “Luffy” Marco and you say, laughing.
The night goes by with alcohol and food, so much food. Sanji cooked the equivalent of three full restaurants just for you -specially Luffy-. Everybody is a little tipsy, and so do you. Kiku, Izo’s sister, comes up with the idea of watching a horror movie. Everybody, except Chopper and Usopp agreed. Law and Robin decided the title, and oh boy, that was gore…
The boys set up the projector, and everybody takes his place. Sanji and Zoro begin fighting because apparently, they were “too close to each other” on the couch. Everybody look at them thinking the same, “why the fuck do you sit together if you don’t want to be close?” but then all of you remember they haven’t still figured out how much they love each other. So, for the sake of the group’s peace, Marco suggests that you could sit over his lap, and so they will have more room.
You agree instantly and sit over Marco’s legs. Your back laying over his chest. You are so used to him that this doesn’t represent a problem for you. But then, Marco snakes his arms around your waist and presses you tight against his lap. “What is this boy playing tonight?” you think.
Somehow, the idea of feeling so tiny, so squeezed against his body is making your core feel a little… fancy.
The movie starts, and so far, you haven’t gotten scared until the murderer appears out of nowhere and stabs the victim from his back. You jump over Marco’s lap, so suddenly that he also gets scared. “Shh” he whispers in your ear. A shiver runs through your spine, as you feel Marco’s warm breath on your neck. “Sorry…” you excuse yourself. “It’s ok” he says, and rests his chin over your shoulder, squeezing your waist even tighter. You gasp and fidget your ass over his groin. “Fuck it, he wants me” you think. And indeed, you feel how a hard -huge- bulge grows under your bottom… All of a sudden, a different movie plays on your head, the idea of him fucking you with his huge member makes you wet, so wet.
You start to act scared with every little scene, and with that, a little hump over him that makes his member grow harder and harder. No one will notice, everything is dark, they are all into the movie. And with the last little jump, Marco has had enough “Stop doing that or I’ll have to fuck you right here in front of our friends” he whispers. You swallow, you wanted to turn him on, but you’ve never expected he would be so straightforward to you.
You slowly turn around your face, his nose touching your cheek. “Then fuck me if you dare” you tell him. A sexy side smirk draws on his lips, and his hands pressed your lower belly so your sex could feel perfectly how hard he is. You realize you are probably gonna have a big time when taking him all inside, and that fans the fire inside you. “I’m gonna go to the restroom” you tell him, with an inviting grin. He lets go of you, and you walk upstairs.
A few minutes later, the bathroom opens and Marco looks at you up and down, scanning you with lustful eyes. You sexily take your jacket off and let it fall to the ground. He closes the door behind him and walks steadily towards you.
His right hand squeezes your throat. His left leg in between your legs, lifting you up as your back is pressed against the cold tiles of the bathroom. “Come on, hump over my leg now” Marco says. You try to gasp for air and do as he tells you to. You rub your sex against his thigh, your legs hang at each side. He is so big compared to you…
He then grabs you by your waist and sits you over the bathroom counter. You spread your legs, so he can come closer. His mouth invades yours, lustfully, feral. This felt way better than the times you’ve dreamt of it.
When he is satisfied with the taste of your mouth, he lifts you up. You cross your legs around his waist and Marco carries you to the next room. Who knows whose room it is? but you don’t care… He throws you to bed, you lay on your back while he unbuttons his white shirt. You enjoy the show of the big man in front of you, your body begs to be destroyed, to be fucked.
“Marco…” you mumble. “Hm?” he asks. “Fuck me, rough” you tell him. “You sure? I’m afraid I’ll destroy your insides” he says while leaning over you, already taking off your pants. “That’s exactly what I want” you say and bite your lip. “You little whore” he says laughing and pounces into you.
He bites your neck; you carve your nails on his back. His huge hands take off your shirt, exposing your perfect body to him. “God, why are you so tiny? I’m gonna rip you” he says, with one of your nipples on his mouth. You moan as his tongue wets your breasts.
He then traces a path of wet smooches from your tits towards your sex. He licks and kisses your hot skin, and you squirm. Yet, you are anxious to see his member, you’ve been wanting to see that huge dick in front and inside you for so long…
A finger enters your sex. “Oh, even my finger feels tight inside you… I wonder how I am gonna fuck your little cunt?” he asks, and that turns you so fucking much, he has no idea. Then, the second finger in. Slowly, but surely you dilate enough -or so that’s what you thought- to receive his shaft.
“I think I can manage to fuck you like this” Marco says while lowers the zipper of his jeans. You swallow, you want it inside now. He finally flashes his eight inches dick to you. You widen your eyes and he notices it. “Are you sure?” he asks. “Fucking destroy me, Marco” you tell him, delighted by the huge member in front of your eyes.
“Sure, my dear” he says, and aligns the tip of his dick with your entrance. You are so wet that it slides perfectly and even if Marco tries to hold back not to hurt you, he can’t take it any longer. Soon, he is balls deep inside you. You whine, loud enough for the whole house to hear you. “Shhh, little whore” he shushes you and covers your mouth with his hand.
You feel your walls stretch, they burn, but you love it. A bulge forms in your lower stomach whenever he is deep inside you, you watch it and the image makes both of you extremely aroused. He is indeed destroying your tiny body, and you are enjoying every single moment of it.
And after intense thrusts, your insides clenches around him as you are ready to fall into an intense orgasm. “Mhh babe… you are so tight. Even after fucking you so much” Marco whines. You moan as the last deep plunges send you to climax heaven. You squirt on the base of his dick, so hard, relieving the pressure, biting Marco’s shoulder.
He does the same a few seconds after, and he does not back off until your insides get filled fully with his warm seed…
“So, are we dating now?” he finally speaks, while resting after an amazing fuck. “Well, yeah, finally” you tell him and laugh soundly. Everybody knew that, except you two…
“We should come back, don’t you think?” you say. “I hope they didn’t hear us…” Marco tells you kissing your forehead… ♥ ~

hi! I don’t want to overwhelm you so even though I’m sending this in as an emergency request please don’t take your time getting to it if you need to!!
I just spent literally hours driving to see my parents only to just end up in my car sobbing leaving early. even after years they refuse to accept or respect me and I’m just devastated
could I request shanks and sanji comforting their s/o in a similar situation and comforting him. I just feel awful and would appreciate it, thank you so much <3
Don’t you worry, Maxx! I’m so sorry you are having a difficult time! I hope these two babes can help you, but remember too! You are most definitely loved and wanted in this world, some people just have a harder time seeing that! ❤️❤️
Babes Below~!
“Red Hair” Shanks

As you two sat in the car together, he listened to you cry, rubbing your shaking back as you sobbed. You two had come over for dinner, but it quickly ended due to your parents negative reaction, it took everything for the ginger to not snap at your parents, but he kept his mouth shut, respecting them for you.
Now you two sat in your car as you continued to cry out your frustrations. His soothing hand never leaving your back, whispering every once in a while how amazing you are and that he loves you.
After a bit, he grabbed you and pulled you into his lap, just letting you cry what you needed, knowing what it’s like to have parental problems, his own parents have been split apart from him years ago.
Finally, you had stopped crying, little sniffles came out from time to time, you had managed to cry yourself to sleep as he continued to hold you. Realizing you were asleep, he smiled slightly and got out of the car, placing you comfortably in the back while he got back in to drive.
If there was one thing he knew after today, parents can suck.
Vinsmoke Sanji
Tumblr media
Sanji grew up not having his father’s approval, so seeing how your parents reacted to you sent him into the past, with that damned helmet and cruel torments from his siblings, finally to see his sister push him away and tell him he would be happier somewhere else.
And she was right, he was happier now, with you by his side. However, this quickly turned sour and he glared daggers at the people who raised you. Grabbing your hand, he opened the door and walked out with you, deciding they weren’t worth ruining your mood over.
As you two sat in the car, you curled into a ball and laid your head in your knees, Sanji was sitting in the driver seat, staring ahead, thinking of why people can be so cruel, finally after a long pause he turned the car on and drove out.
“Let’s go see the gang, I’m sure they can at least appreciate how amazing you are, those damned assholes sure don’t.”
Grabbing your hand once more as he continued to drive, you looked back over at him and squeezed it, letting him know you appreciated him as much as he does you.

Sanji x Fem! Reader
WARNING: no warning
You had studied for a whole week nonstop for your exam to apply to university, and it was time to take it. As you were getting ready you tried to breathe a little and motivate yourself, but deep inside you were very nervous.
Sanji promised that he would wait for you after your exam and he would make some fantastic meal especially for you. He was such a sweetheart, always giving you all his love and affection. Never leaving your side.
After taking the exam you felt terrible, and your anxiety wasn’t helping a lot, all you wanted to do was cry. You felt you did terrible and that you definitely failed the exam. The results would be ready later at night. You couldn’t stop thinking and making terrible scenarios in your head.
As soon as you were out of the building where you took your exam, you saw your boyfriend waiting for you with a bouquet of flowers, the smile he had drawn across his face quickly changed to worried by seeing you.
“Baby, what’s wrong?” He asked as he embraced you while you cried on his arms.
You sobbed and tried speaking but nothing would come out.
“I- I definitely failed” You said as you had calmed down a bit. Your boyfriend gave you a smile and cleaned the tears off your face gently.
He cupped your face with both of his hands, while you held the flower bouquet he had brought you. “Would treating you with some delicious food would make you feel better?” He looked at you, his kind eyes trying to comfort you.
He then peppered your face with kisses, and held your hand in order to walk back to his car. The drive to his apartment made you feel so much better as he played your favorite playlist and sang with you, told you about his day and made you laugh. He knew exactly how to cheer you up, and you loved him so much for that.
When you got there, he sat you down on the dining room.
“I will be back in less than 5 minutes” He said and then he went in the kitchen.
And as he promised, he came back with too many plates in his hands, more than he could take so you helped him to place them on the table.
“Oh baby, this is more than just some food, I will probably not eat for the rest of the month” He laughed and went back to the kitchen to bring some plates for both of you.
Everything looked delicious, you couldn’t decide what to try first. He had made all of the foods that you liked.
You decided to have some pasta first, then some salmon, and one after another until you tried every single dish he made for you.
“How was it Y/n?” He asked smiling.
“It was delicious, I- I can’t even begin to thank you but also...you’ll have to roll me out of here after all this food” You said, and suddenly you realized that since you got to the car to that moment you hadn’t thought about your exam, and you were no longer worried about it.
You then decided to go for a walk, it was a nice afternoon and you loved taking walks with Sanji. He would talk about all of his adventures, how he loved cooking so much, and he would make you laugh always.
The sun was starting to set so you decided to walk to the park, were you could go to your special place and watch it from there. The sky was tainted with shades of pink and orange, almost making it look like cotton candy.
“The sky looks beautiful” You said staring at it, thinking that sharing this little moments with Sanji were the best.
“It does” Sanji said facing you, his eyes staring at you the whole time making you blush.
You stayed until the last beam of the sun left the sky. Once it was starting to get dark you decided to go back home, when suddenly you received a call. It was from the results, and you did great, almost a perfect score.
You couldn’t believe it. You were completely speechless.
“I knew you could do it, baby” Sanji was so excited he carried you and spun you around, and as he lowered you he kissed you.
“I love you ” You said to him.
“I love you too, Y/n” Sanji held your hand to continue walking.

The Razr (Zoro AU Scenario)
Hi guys!
I’m so flattered that I’ve had some people join me here on this fun writing journey!! I truly truly do a little happy dance every time I get a follow. :D
I keep meaning to just sit down and write a quick lil somethin somethin, but it always ends up longer than I intend 😅
This is a headcanon I came up with about Zoro having a crazy outdated flip phone that he refused to get rid of and his friends finally forced him to get a smartphone so he could use GPS.
It turned out a little more serious and emotional than I originally intended, but I’m pretty pleased with it!! Would love to get y’alls feedback.
xx

“Zoro, where the fuck are you??” Nami yelled on the other end of the phone. He could hear the irritation in her voice.
He groaned and rubbed his hand over his face in frustration. “I really don’t know, Nami. I think I made a wrong turn,” He paused and sighed. “Or two? Shit, I don’t know.”
Zoro could hear Nami yelling on the other end of the line, and he placed his phone in the cup holder, knowing that this might be a while. He hit his head a few times on the steering wheel of his car, closing his eyes as he waited for her to finish screeching. He was used to this. He knew that he wasn’t the most directionally adept member of his friend group, but he got by….when others were around.
What made matters worse is that Zoro absolutely refused to get rid of his ancient, bulky flip phone, a fact that Nami never failed to bring up in situations just like this. He didn’t see a point in getting a new phone when his old one worked just fine. He thought back to a conversation he’d had about it just the other day with his friends.
-
“Bro, you’ve gotta be kidding me,” Their newest friend Franky said upon seeing Zoro pull his phone out of his pocket. “A fucking Motorola Razr? That thing has gotta be 10 years old!”
“It’s actually 12 years old,” Luffy chimed in with a laugh. “It was Kuina’s before it was Zoro’s.”
“Kuina? Who’s Kuina?” Franky asked. Zoro tensed up at the mention of her name, and the room went silent. Even Luffy noticed that he’d made a mistake in bringing her up. Zoro squeezed the phone tightly in his pocket.
Kuina was Zoro’s older sister. Five years his senior, Kuina had used the phone as her own for several years before she upgraded and passed it to Zoro. At first, he resented that she always got the newest stuff, and that he got the hand-me-downs. Now, he wouldn’t dream of letting it go. Kuina had died in a tragic accident just a couple years back. She was only 25. This phone was one of the only things that she had ever given him that was hers, along with the family katana that had been passed down for generations.
“Sorry, Zoro,” Luffy murmured, stuffing a bite of food into his mouth uncomfortably. Zoro simply grumbled in response with a shrug.
“Still,” Nami ventured tentatively. “Maybe it would be helpful for you to get a smartphone sometime soon. They all come with GPS systems built in.”
“And what’s wrong with a map?” Zoro snapped back.
“Well, nothing…” Nami said.
“Unless you can’t actually read it!” Luffy shouted out, not able to help himself. He cackled. Zoro shot him a glare, and he laughed even more. He crossed his arms over his broad chest.
“Yeah, well whatever. Next time I get lost, I’ll get a fucking smartphone. Deal?” Zoro said, to get them off his back more than anything.
Nami’s eyes lit up conspiratorially. “Don’t say stuff like that unless you mean it, Zoro.”
Zoro waved her off. They all knew that he certainly wasn’t going to purchase his own phone, so it was a moot point. It worked perfectly fine. Plus, it was hers. He’d keep it as long as it worked.
-
He was pulled from his reverie by Nami yelling his name.
“ZORO,” She yelled. He picked his phone back up and placed it at his ear.
“Goddamn it, Nami. I fucking know I suck at directions, please stop bitching at me,” He growled.
She started to say something, but stopped herself with a sigh. “Ugh. You exhaust me.” She replied.
“What else is new?” He snapped back.
“Whatever, Zoro. I just can’t believe you got lost on the way to your own birthday party.”
“Like I even care about this shit anyway,” He said. “It’s you and Luffy that always insist on throwing a party in the first place.”
“Hey man, don’t pretend like you don’t like eating food and getting shit-faced.”
He rolled his eyes, but didn’t say anything. He knew he didn’t have an argument there.
“Can you see a street sign anywhere?” Nami finally asked after a few moments when there was no reply.
Zoro looked up towards the streetlight and squinted at a sign in the distance. “Yeah, it looks like I’m at the corner of Alabasta and Logue Town drive.”
“Thank Christ,” Nami sighed. “You’re not that far. I’ll send Franky and Sanji to go get you.”
Zoro groaned. “Why does Sanji have to come? Doesn’t he have a fucking cake to bake or something?”
“They need to go out and get a few things from the store,” Nami said. “Listen, you’re the one that’s lost. Suck it up.”
“Ugh. Fine. See you soon.” He hung up, not wanting to hear anything else.
It took Franky and Sanji about 10 minutes to get to him.Thankfully, they just decided to have Zoro follow behind them in his car rather than ride together. Zoro wasn’t sure he could stop himself from punching that jackass directly in the face if he said anything to him.
They finally got back to Robin’s house where they were having the party. Robin was for sure the most adult out of any of them. She’d already bought this crazy historic home and had a job at an archeology firm while everybody else was living in shitty, thrown-together apartment complexes, eating pizza rolls and beer for every meal.
Sanji had looked like he was going to start some shit when they got out of the car, but decided against it when Zoro gave him a look. Plus, Sanji thought, it’s the guy’s birthday. Probably should lay off for one night.
Everyone was pleased to see him, and only gave him a moderately hard time about getting lost on the way to his own party. And despite himself, Zoro gave in to the jovial atmosphere. A few beers certainly helped. By the time he and Luffy had teamed up to play beer pong against Law and Usopp (“Sniper-king, my ass,” Zoro had thought to himself on Usopp’s third consecutive loss), Zoro was feeling pretty damn good. These were his people. They’d been the ones that were there for him. Even when new friends were added to the group, they’d always fit in. Luffy was the usual recruiter, and he somehow managed to find some cool-ass people.
The best time to give Zoro any gifts, Nami had discovered, was when he was sufficiently plastered enough to not object to them. Zoro was always more affectionate and willing to be the recipient of attention when he was drunk.
“Alright!” Nami announced over the blare of the music. “It’s present time, you degenerates! Sit your asses down!”
Franky turned the music down from his smartwatch, lowering it to a dull roar. Zoro was feeling warm and smiley, so he didn’t object when Robin lead him to the couch in the middle of the living room to receive his gift.
“What did y’all fuckers get me this time?” Zoro laughed, slurring a bit as he talked.
Nami rolled her eyes and Luffy just bounced excitedly from the armchair across the room. No matter how much he had to drink, it would seem, Luffy was always one big ball of energy.
“Remember,” Nami said, handing him a small, delicately wrapped box. “You promised.”
Zoro furrowed his brow, confusedly. “I promised?” He started to open the box, a bit nervous all of a sudden about what he would find under the shiny paper.
When he finally finished unwrapping the box, he froze. In his hand, he found a brand new iPhone. He looked up at his friends, knowing how much something like this cost.
“Guys, this is ridiculous,” He said, not knowing exactly how he felt.
“Stop,” Nami said, holding a hand up.
“Yeah, we all pitched in! Even Sanji!” Luffy grinned from his chair. “So no take backsies!”
He looked up at the room full of expectant faces, flushed from the alcohol and the good company. There was a pit in his stomach. On the one hand, he was angry. They knew how he felt about his phone. They knew what it meant to him. It wasn’t just a stupid phone. On the other hand, he was touched. Touched that his friends had come together to help him out. He found himself putting his hand in his pocket, thumbing over the ancient flip-phone that had once been hers.
“Guys, my phone works perfectly well,” He managed after swallowing. “This is completely unnecessary.”
“C’mon man,” Usopp clapped his hand on his shoulder. “You know it isn’t unnecessary. Do you need a reminder that you got lost on the way to your own party tonight?” He laughed.
Zoro remained silent, one hand gripping the new phone, and the other deep in the pocket of his pants.
“So, of course, we figured that you’d feel this way,” Robin chimed in. “So, that’s only one part of the gift.”
Zoro snapped his head towards Robin, the crease in his brow deepening. She pulled out another box from behind her back and handed it to him. This one was slightly larger, and a bit heavier. He peeled back the wrapping paper.
“It’s a shadow box,” Franky said. “So you can still keep your old phone, too.”
“Just on display on the shelf,” Nami said. “Instead of in your pocket.”
“We know how much it means to you, mosshead,” Sanji grumbled from the doorway. “You don’t have to get rid of the old phone. So, just accept the gift already.”
Zoro felt himself get teary-eyed. He told himself it was the alcohol as he wiped his hand over his eyes before tears could fall down his cheeks. “Thanks guys,” Was all he could manage.
Knowing that he needed the attention off of him, his friends just laughed and cheered, turning the music up to get back to the party. Franky spent the rest of the evening helping set up Zoro’s phone and showing him all of the functions that he would have access to. Zoro was still so overwhelmed, but he tried to make himself pay attention. Finally, and most importantly, Franky downloaded Google Maps and showed him how to use it. Zoro pocketed the phone with a slight smile and a ‘thank you.’ It felt heavy and big in the back pocket of his jeans. His heart felt heavy too. He couldn’t help but feel like this was the end of something. But somewhere, he knew that Kuina would be looking down on him, so happy that he had found such thoughtful friends.
Luffy raised his glass for a toast. “To Zoro! And never getting lost again!”
The rest of them raised their glasses, looking over to Zoro expectantly as they waited for him to raise his glass too. He reached for his beer and raised it slightly with a smirk.
“You motherfuckers are gonna regret this,” He grinned finally. “Getting lost was my only character defect. Now I’ll be unstoppable.”

Black Cat
Welcome to the beast! I did toy with splitting this into chapters, but I like a long one shot and hopefully you all do too.
So, I voted for the superhero prompt and was psyched when it was picked but then drew a blank about how I wanted to approach it. Then I listened to ‘To die for’ by Sam Smith and that was it. It was supposed to be a short little fluffy story… then this thing called plot came marching in, knocked me off my chair and took over. So now there’s fluff AND plot AND a lot of words.
Summary: Sanji’s pretty sure he’s found the love of his life, shame it’s the elusive criminal he’s supposed to be catching. Superhero AU Rating: M for Language, brief mention of violence and a limey moment that can be skipped (Do we still use the terms lemon and lime for sexy times?) Words: 18k, buckle in kids.

“Ah, Mademoiselle, what a pleasant surprise.”
The lady before him gave a short laugh as she turned, jewellery still in hands, as she gave him a once over.
“Pleasant indeed, have you been working out?” She said in a sultry tone. He knew she was trying to get under his skin, and whilst it was working, he didn’t miss the way her eyes drank him in.
He tried to keep his cool, he wouldn’t be had this time. “I have, there’s a certain Black Cat that I have to keep up with after all.” He said as he began to walk closer, something that her keen eyes instantly picked up on and tensed, ready for whatever move he made.
“Well, I’m flattered, of course.” Her casual words betrayed by the way she took a step back, eyes assessing the room for an exit.
There was a tense moment as they both watched each other, trying to anticipate the others move.
“As ravishing as you would look in them, you know I can’t let you leave with them.”
“That’s such a shame, I really like them.” She pouted and started to play with the gems. “I feel like these would really suit me, especially this one.” She held the diamond necklace up to her neck and laid it across her bust, smirking. Although his eyes were covered by black glasses, she knew he couldn’t keep his eyes on her face.
“Is it hot in here or is it just me?” She looped the jewels through her arms and let them slide down as she pulled at the black leather away from her body with one hand and fanned with her other.
He was frozen at this point and she used it to her advantage. With him like this, she walked towards him, making sure to swing her hips and start playing with the zip hiding her cleavage.
Once she was in front of him, she ran her hands along his shoulders, moving them up to cup his face and move it to one side. She leaned in closer, so her body was pressed against his. At this point his face was bright red, extending further than his mask.
She sighed in his ear before whispering, “Thanks for the jewels.” And then kissed his cheek, leaving a red lipstick mark. “See you next time.”
She shoved him down in his stupor and he watched in a haze as she suddenly took off running across the store. She climbed up the wall, giving him a lovely view of her behind, and out of the open window, which she’d clearly used to break in.
She was breath taking.

Black Cat once again succeeds in stealing jewels, leaving Stealth Black in the dark.
Sanji sighed.
He was in his favourite café as he read the newspaper and although it was frustrating, he couldn’t bring himself to be angry at the headline. They weren’t wrong after all. She was successful and he was still in the dark as to how to capture her. She was smart, beautiful, sneaky, gorgeous, tactical and did he mention she was an absolute bombshell?
He rubbed his hands across his face. He definitely shouldn’t be thinking about her like that. He should be thinking about how to capture her. Yet, he didn’t really want to. She was a petty thief more than anything, she’d never hurt anyone and left the place with minimal damage. Plus, she brightened his day with her wit and sunny smile when she saw him.
His thoughts were interrupted by another voice, “Would you like another refill?”
His head shot up from the newspaper and was met with a young waitress holding a coffee pot. He gave a grateful smile, nodding and going back to his newspaper.
“Black Cat, huh? I don’t mind her; she seems harmless enough.”
Sanji chocked out a fake laugh, hiding his chagrin, “Yet powerful enough to take on Black Stealth, she must be something alright.”
She shrugged. “Black Stealth is something himself, I’m sure he’ll snag her someday.” There was something in her tone that made him look back up at her. She was giving him a funny look, like he was missing an inside joke that he wasn’t privy too.
And with that, she took a step back and turned around. He wouldn’t think anything of it, but her tone was odd, and did she wink at him before turning? He felt a blush rising on his cheeks at the thought but shook his head. Yes, he had a weakness for women but there was only a certain woman on his mind right now. The one who was suddenly leaving lipstick marks on his cheek.
It had been almost 5 months since she’d come into his city. No one knew anything about the Black Cat, she came out of thin air one day when she’d picked a lock to get into a high-end jeweller. He’d been stupefied back then; she was bent over looking at something and gave him the greatest look at her lovely behind in her tight leather cat suit. Then she’d turned to look at him (her suit really was tight, ahem). Her mask covered the middle of her face, starting below her eyes brows and stopping at her nose but revealing big amber eyes with eyelashes fluttering against flushing cheeks and scarlet red lipstick adorning her lips. Adorable cat ears donning her head.
He’d been frozen just looking at her, but then she’d breathily said his superhero name, almost like a moan, and he completely shut down after that. She’d winked at him, gave him a flirty wave and had taken off. He was in euphoria for a couple of minutes after, until he’d realised that he’d just let a robber escape his clutches.
Since then, they’d faced off quite frequently. Every time she used her charms against him, becoming bolder each time. They’d never actually clashed like other villains he’d faced up against, then again, he wasn’t so besotted with the others. He’d faced off against women villains before, he took greater care with them than he did to men, but he always got them in the end. But her. She was something else. It was love at first sight and whilst he’d hoped it’d pass… it didn’t. Every time he saw her, he fell a bit harder. It put him in quite a pickle.
The worst thing though, was that they actually got along. Considering their opposing sides, they had banter and over time, he was feeling like he was getting to know her. She was just intoxicating. As the days went on, he moved further and further away from catching her, simply because he didn’t want to. He didn’t want to capture her. But he had an obligation to. He was a superhero and whilst she was a very smart, crafty thief, she shouldn’t be a match for him. But she was.
.
.
.
It was one of Sanji’s days off and normally, he kept superhero work for night-time only but liked to keep an eye on the news during the day, just in case. It was incredibly rare that the police couldn’t deal with criminals during the day, the night-time was when the real low lives showed their faces in this city.
When the radio was suddenly interrupted by a special report, he felt his ears prick. It was telling civilians to stay indoors and avoid the city centre because a shoot-out had broken out. So far, no lives were lost but a few injured.
No more had to be said and Sanji was abandoning his relaxing day off. He’d never forgive himself if someone innocent got shot.
Stealth was a big part of his image and his suit was black for a reason, to blend in during the night. Right now, the only thing that fit in was his blond hair and tiny bit of yellow on his suit. Normally he would activate the invisibility feature on his suit, but he wanted the attention on him when he arrived. This way the shooting would be aimed at him and not civilians.
He landed with a thump on the police officers’ car just outside of city centre and all heads whipped towards him. He could see the relief on a few of their faces when they recognised him. It must be worse than he thought.
“Focus on civilian safety, get them out and I’ll deal with the gang.” Stealth Black said, launching himself back into the sky.
From above, Stealth Black could see carnage. A car was alight with two officers trapped behind it, surrounded by the gang who were slowly spreading themselves out and strategically using abandoned cars to move forward. His eyes narrowed at their organisation. So it looked like this might have been planned and they weren’t normal thugs.
Over the past few weeks, he’d heard rumours about a gang that had moved into the city. They were apparently recruiting members but nothing other than word of mouth had surfaced. He couldn’t do much else than keep his ear to the ground. Maybe this was the start of it.
He swiftly dropped behind the burning car to retrieve the stranded officers. “Are you injured?” His eyes scanned and found no more than a couple scrapes and a lot of dirt.
They both shook their heads.
“Keep still and brace yourselves.” Without another word, he wrapped his arm around each of them, stood up and activated the boosters in his boots as he kicked the flaming vehicle in front of him towards the gang. This gave him the opening he needed as gang members jumped out the way and shouted to each other about his arrival. He left the officers just outside the shooting zone, where an ambulance was on hand and took off again without a word.
He ran through the shooting zone, bullets flying past him or ricocheting off his suit as their attacks were now focused on him and started taking them down one by one. They were smart thugs, but they were still human, he laid off the boosters that helped increase his kicking power and that seemed to be enough.
He ducked as a thug swung their gun, attempting to hit him in the face and Stealth Black swept his leg out to knock the guy off his feet. Once the thug was down, he brought his foot down sharply onto his chest and heard a few ribs break. He shouldn’t be getting up quickly.
The gang, sensing they were losing to one person, all swarmed him in an attempt to overwhelm him. He backflipped into a handstand, bringing his legs out vertical and spun, hitting some of the thugs that were close enough and stunning a few before they got too close.
“Ben, no!” A scream tore through the air.
Stealth Black’s head whipped in the direction of the voice, only to find a child running across the shooting zone. The child had escaped the grasp of his mother as they were being moved to safety and now the police were having a hard time holding the mother back too.
He knew that no thugs took sympathy, regardless of whether it was a child or not and that if he didn’t get to the child quick enough, one of the thugs would shoot.
Whilst he was distracted, a thug saw an opening and hit Stealth Black on the back of the head. He was dazed for a moment and the world went silent as he desperately tried to catch up. A thug wrapped their arms around him to hold him in place as more gathered. He snapped out of it when he heard the mother screaming again for her child and his senses came back to him.
Stamping his foot down, he created a shockwave of power that launched him, and the thug wrapped around him, into the air whilst the other thugs went sprawling. He sharply dug his elbow into the thug behind him and watched as he fell to the ground below.
Looking again for the child, he was met with a sight that chilled his blood and made time stop moving. One of the gang members had seen the child and was raising his gun ready to shoot. He could feel the adrenaline pumping through him, as he took off charging with everything he had towards the child. Whilst he prayed for a miracle, he knew that he wouldn’t be able to reach the child in time and his brain was working through every possible option to overcome the inevitable.
The bullet was already flying towards the child, who was stood still, paralysed by fear.
He could feel his heart pounding in his ear as his stomach plummeted.
He wasn’t going to make it.
Suddenly the sky turned dark and electric crackled through the air.
“Thunder tempo!”
And then there she was. God, she was so overwhelmingly beautiful. Wind whipped around her face, making her hair fly through the air as a ferocious lightening bolt hit the gun wielding thug. She swooped in and picked the, now crying, child up in her arms and used her baton to deflect the bullet. Interesting, he’d never seen her the baton before, maybe it was new?
When he would look back on this moment in the future, he would this as the tipping point of when he started to fall in love with her and confirm that she wasn’t a villain.
Any tension suddenly left, as the last crispy thug fell to the floor and the crowd around them cheered.
Black Cat looked completely bewildered as people came closer to start congratulating them both. The mother of the child came weeping towards her, thanking her profusely again and again. She managed to stutter out a quiet you’re welcome, as she handed over the child in her arms to the mother.
However, as the camera crews started to come over, he could see her starting to panic. Her eyes darting around the area for the easiest escape route in all the mayhem. To his delight, she’d never had that look around him. She always seemed at ease… probably because she had the upper hand, but he still liked that she was relaxed around him- even if he was a hero.
She jumped when he strolled up to her, his arm resting on the small of her back to get her attention. He murmured in her ear, “You want to get out of here?”
Whilst his words were supposed to be overly flirtatious, she gave him a relieved smile regardless. “Please.”
“Hold on then.” The arm on her back snaking around her waist and they were airborne. Her screaming into his ear as she strangled him in a chokehold and him laughing.
He soon regretted laughing when they landed on the top of a roof building because she soon hit him over the head and was lecturing him about warning someone first before doing that.
She was still angry when he suddenly wrapped her up in a hug and all the anger bled out of her when she heard his heavy breathing.
“Are you okay?” She asked, as she tentatively wrapped her arms around him, unsure what to do.
“I thought he was going to die,” his voice small.
Suddenly Black Cat understood, the moment had passed and now he was forced to deal with the emotions. Her arms wrapped around him surely now and rubbed up and down his back in a soothing manner. He couldn’t see it, but she smiled. He really cared, huh.
“But he didn’t.”
“All thanks to you- I can’t thank you enough, I don’t know how to show my appreciation.”
“You don’t have to. I don’t want to see a child die, or anyone innocent for that matter.”
Stealth Black pulled away but clasped her hands in his and blinded her as if face lit up behind his mask and glasses. “I knew you were good. Join me! We’d make a great team.”
“We’d make a fantastic team. But no. I’m not made for that right now.” She hated that his face dropped. “But you’re great at it. It’s fun to watch you in action when I’m not the one trying to escape.”
“You were watching…?”
She cursed herself for getting too comfortable. She’d been sitting there before he even arrived, ready to step in should she need to. He was impressive, it wasn’t something she had seen him do before, commanding officers and skilfully fighting off thugs. “Well, it’s- uh, yeah.” Her shoulders dropped. “But you know, you can show you appreciation by not telling anyone! I have a reputation to upkeep.”
He felt warm inside. She was rough around the edges but a good person at heart and had his back when he wasn’t enough.
She extracted her hands from his grip as he just stared at her. It was of course flattering but she could only deal with his adoring look for so long without feeling… things… for him.
She really needed to go.
But she couldn’t leave without teasing him a bit, butterflies in her stomach or not. The hand on his arm got his attention as she leaned in to leave him with the trademark lipstick mark on his cheek.
What she wasn’t expecting, was for him to use his other hand to pull his mask down enough to reveal his lips and to turn his head.
To kiss her.
On the lips.
The wasn’t part of the plan at all, she frantically thought. He was hesitant for a second, giving her a chance to break the kiss and kept still. When she didn’t pull away, he applied pressure and moved his lips. She found herself melting into the long overdue kiss.
Black Stealth felt like he’d died and gone to heaven, something he would not be upset about right now. The woman he was pretty sure he was in love with was kissing him back and if he heard right, she just sighed into the kiss. He tightened his arms around her, pressing them together as tightly as possible and she reciprocated by angling her head and running her hands through his hair.
As intoxicating as she was, he needed to breath. When he pulled away and looked at her, she was dazed. Eyes glassy, cheeks flushed and smeared red lipstick, most of it was probably on his lips right now but he didn’t care. She was still in his arms, not hitting him for kissing her.
“That probably wasn’t a good idea,” she whispered against his lips, but made no move to pull away.
“Probably not, but I just don’t care. Do you?” He whispered back.
She smiled at the confession. “I like this, it suits you.” Rubbing her fingers against the scruff on his chin. “I have to go.” She said, leaning back in for a quick peck on his lips before she was pulling the mask on his face back up.
He could only nod, not expecting the second kiss. As she began to pull away, he came to his senses and grabbed her hand before she could go. She turned to him with a raised eyebrow.
“I have a feeling this wasn’t a one off and might be part of a gang operation that’s slowly growing. I haven’t heard much, no one has, do you know anything?”
Black Cat considered him for a moment before answering, “Not really. Same as you, only hear say. I hear they’re dangerous and expanding at a fast rate. That’s it.”
Stealth Black couldn’t hide the disappointment on his face, he’d wanted more information. He nodded anyway, thankful that she’d at least been comfortable telling him something, they weren’t exactly on the same side. Him on the ‘good side’ and her sitting in a weird grey area. “Hm, okay, thanks anyway,” he hesitated a moment before continuing, “Just… be careful okay? I don’t want anything happening to you, especially if they get wind that you helped me.”
She squeezed his hand, smiled and turned around. Just as she was about to leap from the roof she stopped, turning her head and said, “Those were on the house, the next kiss will cost you.”
And just like that she was gone.
But he still smiled in triumph. There was going to be a next time.
.
.
.
The gang had finally made their appearance, the shoot-out in city centre had only been their introduction. It was no longer vague rumours.
He’d seen his fair share of petty gangs, but this was nothing like that, they were the real deal. Highly organised and from the few vans he’d busted they were transporting drugs but none of the lower ranking thugs in the gang didn’t know the identity of the boss. Seemed he was pulling the strings behind the scenes, clever. They’d also committed bank robberies and he’d noticed the police were becoming less effective. There was less urgency in their movements, and he got the impression higher ups were being paid off by the gang.
Newspapers were unaffected, though they didn’t pose much of a threat and didn’t know any more than him. They did, however, keep him up to date with what villains were currently on the loose and supposedly they were linked with the new gang starting up. Yet he never bumped into any of these villains.
Things were starting to get out of control, and he got the impression this is what they wanted. Cause chaos, meanwhile, gain the upper hand in underground dealings and they’d be running the city.
Normally he would listen in to the police scanner on his days off or during the night for anything major going on. Now it was eerily silent, apart from the odd drunk driver. Instead he’d now taken to doing nightly patrols to see if he could gain any leads. He did this in his stealth mode so that no one could see him and catch on to what he was doing. Yet he’d found nothing. Not a thing. They weren’t sloppy and it was starting to irritate him.
Just as he was about to turn in for the night, he saw something jump past him on his left. What was someone doing jumping about on the rooftops? He followed the direction they went and what he saw made him feel like he’d finally hit the jackpot.
Kalifa.
She was part of an organisation that he’d captured a couple of years ago. They ran their own form of justice, which included killing people if they saw it fit. They made themselves judge, jury and executioner.
He landed on the roof, several feet away to observe her before he took any action.
“My, my, Stealth Black, long time no see. What can I do for you?”
He stayed silent; she shouldn’t be able to see him in stealth mode.
“I know you’re there. You thought I wouldn’t learn your tricks after last time?”
He sighed and became visible. “What are you doing here?”
“I’m not doing anything illegal, so that’s not any of your business.” She smirked and adjusted her glasses.
“You did escape prison though. How?” He demanded.
Many years ago he’d struggled to capture Kalfia, he was raised not to hit woman which is hilarious for a superhero. He’d always used his Stealth mode to capture them, it’d been a handy feature. However, that mode didn’t prevent blushing and stumbling around on his part. He knew women would always be a weakness and he had to factor that in when he went up against one. Then Black Cat strolled into his life and raised the bar. It’d been a blessing and a curse. He was somewhat immune to other villains’ charms, becoming more effective at catching them… but then he couldn’t catch Black Cat. Not that he really wanted to. But that was a different matter.
“It helps when you have connections,” she drawled coyly. “Enough chit chat though, I have appointments to get to.”
He just managed to throw up his leg and block the kick meant for his abdomen, what he hadn’t expected was for her other leg to come up and clock him around the face.
“You’ve gotten faster, that’s a pain.” He grits out as his head throbbed. Maybe he needed a helmet, everyone liked to hit him there. He backflipped into a handstand to avoid the foot coming down on his head and when he looked, the concrete had cracked from the impact. Okay, he needed to get serious. Except she didn’t let up and he spent his time dodging or blocking her attacks as they came hurtling towards him. “Appointments, huh? I heard you joined the gang that came into the city.”
She gave a short laugh. “Nosey journalists, how do they find this information out? Maybe there’s a rat… or feline, on the loose.”
He blocked the last kick, shoved his foot out and sent her falling to the ground. He was exhausted and in trouble. Whilst his stealth mode seemed to be useless around her, he used it anyway, just in case he could throw her off and took out the cuffs from in belt. As she started to pick herself up, he used the boosters on his boots to send a shockwave through the ground and succeeded in throwing off her footing. Using this to his advantage, he flew forward and locked one of her hands in the cuffs but just missed the second hand as her foot came out to trip him.
Stumbling back, he managed to keep himself upright but now had to come up with something else. At least one part of the cuffs was on.
Kalifa started laughing and Stealth Black couldn’t be more confused. “You thought that cheap trick would work again?” She boasted. And he watched in disbelief as the cuff slid straight off of her, falling to the floor with a loud clang. Stealth Black could only gape. What the hell was he going to do? He grit his teeth, he couldn’t hit her but he really needed to. It was the only time in his life that he cursed his father for instilling this belief in him.
“It appears I’ve had an upgrade, whilst you’re still left in the dark. Let’s see if you can keep up now.” She said. Her body became slick and shiny as she surged forward.
He threw his knee up again to block the hit and watched as her leg slipped straight off of his to the side and came back around to hit him in the kidneys. He fell sideways as pain erupted in his side. He couldn’t even block her now.
She was now charging towards him, but his body wasn’t responding. He was fatigued. He managed to lift both his legs and hit them against the roof top, creating an even bigger shock wave to send her flying backwards. It would do nothing but buy him some time.
It started to rain, and he groaned. It’d been clear skies just a few moments earlier but as he looked up, he could see clouds starting to form. He really didn’t need this right now. He was getting his arse kicked and he was going to be rained on. It felt like his luck was running out.
Oh god, she was getting up again. He heaved himself to sit upright whilst his mind whirled for solutions.
“You look like you could use a hand.”
Relief rushed through Stealth Black at the sound of her voice and he turned to see her standing there in all her glory, baton extended at the ready. Black Cat. His knotted stomach calmed, and his heartbeat picked up. Oh thank god.
“You really should learn how to deal with women… apart from me, of course,” she said, winking as she walked past him.
Kalfia looked at Black Cat in disdain. “What a surprise to see you here Black Cat, seems you’re quite the accessory to Stealth Black. I’m sure people would be interested to know that.”
Stealth Black had no idea what was going on, but Black Cat’s face screwed up and she went straight on the attack. She whipped her baton for Kalfia’s face, but the woman dodged it. Kalfia started a flurry attack, much like she did with Stealth Black, except Black Cat would allow herself to actually hit the woman. The hits were actually landing this time, did the rain affect Kalifa’s abilities? Black Cat managed to hit Kalifa in the face once and then in the stomach, before sending out a harsh wind from the baton.
Black Cat didn’t give the woman a chance to recover before she was sending a thunder bolt straight through the woman’s chest.
Kalfia’s eyes lost their focus and she opened her mouth to let out a puff of smoke before falling to the floor in a steaming pile.
Stealth Black was speechless. He was in awe of the woman in front of him… and if he was honest, a little turned on. She was a powerhouse. Another quality to add to the list of things he loved about the woman in front of him.
Black Cat turned to him, “Do you still have handcuffs?”
His head filled with images of the lady in front of him in handcuffs… or her using them on in, but he snapped out of it when she coughed and gave him a hard stare.
“Focus, we don’t have time for your daydreams.”
He passed her the handcuffs and she clicked one part around Kalfia’s wrist and the other to the drainpipe up on the roof.
“That should be enough to hold her, she’ll be woozy when she wakes up but make sure to keep her wet and take her to the police as soon as possible.”
“You’ve never been like that with me before.” Black Stealth said.
Nami’s head tilted in confusion before she understood what he meant. “Luckily you’ve never given me a reason to. I used to just bat my eyelashes at you, and you were putty.” She laughed.
“I’m glad, that looks like it hurt.” He walked closer to her and his hands itched to wrap them around her waist, but he wasn’t sure whether he was allowed to. They’d kissed but what if that was too familiar? “What are you doing here by the way? Not that I’m not thankful.”
“Luckily for you, I was passing by and saw she was about to kick your handsome face in. I’m the only one allowed to best you.”
His heart soared at the handsome comment and that she wrapped her arms around his neck, his own hands now making their way around her waist to settle there. The only thing that was odd, was the look on her face. He couldn’t read it. She’d never looked like that before. Normally she was an open book, but he didn’t question it as she pulled his mask down and leaned in to kiss him on the lips.
She sighed into the kiss and tilted her head. Her tongue touched his lips and before he knew it, he’d let her in, and she was playing with his tongue. When they parted, he squeezed her sides, he was just so happy he couldn’t resist. Even though he couldn’t see it, he knew there was a dazed expression on his face, he just couldn’t get enough of this woman.
“What’s the price for that kiss then?” He’d expected her to smile or laugh but he felt his stomach twist when she frowned, eyebrows pinched together in worry.
“Forgive me for what’s going to happen.”
His stomach plummeted but he didn’t get the chance to question what that was meant to mean, she extracted herself quickly from his embrace and was gone.
He felt empty.

Black Cat is the newest member of underground gang
Sanji was at the restaurant on break when he saw the news. He felt like he could be sick.
He went back to work in a daze, and it was only as he was cooking and flipping ingredients in the pan that his mind began to wonder. The puzzle started to piece together. She said she’d been watching him take down the gang… because she was already one of them? That’s why she was there? But why would be intervene and take down some of her own guys? Then again, when she ran into him facing up against Kalfia. Kalfia said she had appointments, was Black Cat her appointment? She was meeting her to join the gang? Or was she already in and they were going to do something? But why stop Kalfia?
‘-quite the accessory to Stealth Black. I’m sure people would be interested to know that.’ That sentence Kalfia had said kept going around in his head. He hadn’t thought anything of it, was she threatening Black Cat? With him? His thoughts were going around in circles and he had no answers coming to mind. He didn’t believe for a second she was a villain, there must be an angle he was missing.
The thing haunting him the most, was her expression as she told him to forgive her. A villain didn’t ask for that. A villain didn’t kiss the hero either.
He had no solid answers to the majority of his questions, but he believed in her and his gut was telling him she needed his help.

It turned out following her was incredibly hard. Normally he was too… overwhelmed after meeting with her to actually pursue her after a robbery. He doubted she’d ever give him the information, but he was curious about her baton. It turned out she could also turn herself invisible using it. It’s like they were made for each other~
He shook his head, now wasn’t the time for fantasies of the two of them but he was seriously thankful that she didn’t use all those moves on him or he’d actually have a hard time with her. He did feel a tiny bit guilty for underestimating her. It did give him an opportunity to use the new feature in his glasses though, the heat signature that Franky had just put in.
Even with that though, he still had difficulty keeping up with her without being caught. She certainly earned the title of cat, she was agile, ducking and diving through alley ways and above rooftops. Where on earth was she going? They were starting to get close to the docks in the rough side of the city. He certainly hoped she didn’t live around here, she could clearly handle herself, but he’d still be worried. Anything could happen in this city.
Since the news broke a week ago, he’d heard absolutely nothing from her. He didn’t exactly know what they were right now, but they’d kissed twice (her initiating the second) and she normally made sure to make an appearance at some point during his week, even if it was fleeting. Something wasn’t quite right.
He was pulled out of his thoughts as she came to a standstill in front of the pier, she appeared to be just gazing out at nothing and for a split second he considered going over to her. But then she was deactivating her invisibility and looking around. He stiffened when she looked straight at him, he thought if might just be chance until she waved and winked at him… she knew he was there? Had she let him follow her? How did she-? Stealth Black smiled to himself, reminded once again how amazing she was. This was planned. Any hesitation he had regarding her allegiance vanished and he kicked himself to doubting her. He knew Black Cat. He should be trusting her.
Ten minutes later and he was in their hideout. Considering it was underground, it had high ceilings, supported by multiple beams or scaffolding where it wasn’t quite complete yet. It did make him wonder how long this took to build and why no one noticed, but then if his information was correct and they were paying off people in high places then it’s really no surprise at all. Nevertheless, the high beams and scaffolding will be handy for him to navigate around here undetected alongside his invisibility.
The voices started to get louder as he made his way further into the hideout. As he entered the large room where the voices were coming from, he saw four men. Three of them were visible and standing in front of the fourth man who was sitting in an even bigger, imposing chair covered in shadows.  The three visible men were huge… inhumanly huge.
In front of the group of men was Black Cat, she looked tiny compared to them.
“-and here she comes, crawling back after ruining our gang operation the other week and taking down Kalifa, for no good reason. We should kill you right now for being a rat.” One of the large men walked closer, leaning down over Black Cat.
Stealth Black felt his leg twitch and had to resist the urge to go down there to beat the shit out of him. To speak to her like that and threaten her. He could feel heat working its way up his body, as his anger spiked. Any thoughts were interrupted by her harsh tone.
“Oh cut the shit Kuroobi, if you believe any of that then you’re a fool.” She replied frostily. He’d never heard her voice so sharp and stinging, normally it was smooth and soothing like honey. “Have you not seen the newspaper? You think I want the police to take me as a serious threat? I’m a petty thief, like I want all of the city after me.”
Kuroobi snorted, “Don’t try and make me think that wasn’t you just so you can clear your name with us. You need us now to protect you.”
“And the coincidence that the news broke after Kalifa’s arrest? I told you all along she was the rat and you didn’t believe me. I had to step in, she was having a meeting with Stealth Black-”
“Funny that you mention him. We’ve heard news that you’re involved with him, kissing up on rooftops? You’ve been feeding-”
Stealth Black froze and his body tensed, ready to step in at a moment’s notice, this sounded like it could get ugly.
“Don’t interrupt me!” Kuroobi’s face darkened but stopped talking, “I’ve been keeping tabs on them both. Stealth Black is getting suspicious, I’ve been keeping him entertained- you’re welcome by the way- and he has no leads about what you guys are up to, thanks to me!” She paused and looked at all of them. “So don’t you dare accuse me!”
There was a tense moment as the four men stopped to consider her words, the three men turning to look at the man in the chair.
She was what? Keeping him entertained? His initial reaction was betrayal and hurt before he reminded himself that she knew he was here. She was lying to them to save face.
Kuroobi looked like he was about to argue some more but was interrupted when the deep voice from the shadows interrupted. “Calm down, Kuroobi. We have no reason to accuse her like this, for the time being what she says checks out. She’s our ally after all.” The man’s voice from the chair was calm.
“But boss-” Kuroobi was silenced as the man in the chair got up and made his way from the shadows, slowly walking down the steps in front of him to reach Black Cat.
He was bigger than the other three men, he made them look tiny in comparison. Much taller and vile looking. His calming voice didn’t match the twisted smile on his face. He had shaggy black hair, a long-pointed nose and razor-sharp teeth. He leaned over Black Cat and tilted her chin up so she couldn’t look anywhere else but at him.
“Because allies don’t betray each other and I’m sure Black Cat is smart enough to figure out what would happen if she did. I didn’t get this reputation for nothing.” His voice was still calm but there was an edge to it now, one that was threatening.
Black Cat shoved his hand off of her chin but maintained eye contact. “Well now you know. So stop sending people after me.” She turned to leave and just before she left the room, she called over her shoulder, “Also, I never agreed to killing innocent people when I joined.”
“Shahahaha, but you’ve teamed up with a gang that has no problems with it? You have no moral compass, so don’t get high and mighty on us.” The men continued to laugh as she left without another word.
Stealth Black didn’t miss the way her face screwed up as they laughed.

Sanji was tired. It’d been a long week. Between his day job as a chef and spending his nights and days off patrolling, he’d had no time to relax. Since the hideout he’d heard nothing from Black Cat, or the gang, and he was starting to get nervous. His previous conclusion was correct, Black Cat had let him follow because since then he couldn’t find her, no matter how much he wanted to. That meant it would be another night patrolling to try and find her or see if the gang is doing anything around the docks where they were based.
He’d contacted his friend in the police force to try and get details on the gang. He had a name of one key member and description for the illusive boss, but his friend couldn’t tell him anything. Apparently, things were tense within the precinct at the moment, anyone digging too deep into gang activity were moved onto different tasks or sent on a goose chase that led nowhere. He left his friend with what little details he had and told him to let him know if he hears anything else.
When he’d booted up his own computer to do some research, he’d only found snippets of activity from eight years ago. The name Kuroobi popped up in the article and pictures of him and another man that looked similar to the guys from the hideout, but they looked so much smaller. Nothing compared to the huge bulky men from the other night. The article briefly discussed gang activity in villages before they suddenly disappeared.
It was so frustrating, considering the major events that were going on, no one knew anything. He’d never seen anything like it in his time of being a superhero.
Rubbing his face, Sanji walked to his apartment door and prepared himself for a night of more researching and patrolling. Entering his apartment, he took off his shoes and put his bag down on the table next to the door. He took one step in and knew something wasn’t right. There was a breeze. He always made sure windows were locked before he left. He stilled and waited, no noise. But that didn’t mean the place was empty.
He started to migrate through the apartment, back pressed against the wall and tentatively looking around corners to clear rooms. He’d cleared the kitchen and office, by the looks of it nothing had been touched. Odd.
Even though the apartment so far looked untouched, he didn’t let his guard down. Someone might not be after possessions, after all. He breathed out slowly, to calm himself as he stood next to the opening for the living room. Quickly whipping his head round to look in, he met a pair of amber eyes looking back at him.
“Took you long enough, do you know how long I’ve been waiting?”
Sanji had moved away from the wall and was now standing in the doorway, mouth ajar in disbelief at what he was seeing. There Black Cat was in all her glory, seductively stretched out across his sofa, one arm supporting her head and the other propped on her hip. It was like one of his fantasies come true, he had to remind himself not to faint. But then he realised, he wasn’t currently Stealth Black… he was Sanji.
“Uhhhh...” Damn him. He couldn’t think of a single thing to say, he was too shocked.
She stood up, walking to him and rested her hand on his shoulder. “Do you want to sit down?” She asked comfortingly. Black Cat did find it funny, honestly, he looks like he’s seen a ghost, all the colour in his face was gone and he couldn’t string together a single sentence. Almost like when they met, ah good times.
When he sat down, she sat down next to him as well… a bit too closely, which certainly didn’t help his brain with thinking. He ended up blurting out, “I don’t have anything worth stealing!” It was almost worth looking like a fool when she started pealing with laughter. It did cause a blush to appear on his face
“For once, I’m not here for that,” she said once she’d calmed down.  She leaned in closer all of a sudden and Sanji had to not think about the breasts pressing against his arm or the hot breath on his ear as she whispered, “I know who you are, Stealth Black.”
His stomach dropped. “How- how do you… when did you- what?!” He couldn’t articulate anything, there was too many questions and his brain couldn’t organise them, they just came flooding out all at the same time.
At least she moved back so she could give him a second to breath, but somehow the hand she put on his knee in a comforting gesture made him even dizzier. “I’ve known since the beginning. All those months ago, just after my first theft I found out. I like to know what I’m up against.”
“Why did you never say anything?”
“There was never a need to and I never told anyone either. That information was just for me.”
He’d calmed down by now and rested his hand over hers on his knee and squeezed it. “Thank you. So, why are you telling me now?”
“Things have changed, my plan is now in tatters. I wasn’t exactly planning on your competence, you have a very handy weakness to women, and then there’s us- ah well, I mean-” Her eyes were as big as saucers as she looked at him, she hadn’t planned on having a discussion about their relationship right now, it’d just slipped out.
“That we’re a couple?”
“Well you’re bold all of a sudden, you couldn’t even form a coherent sentence just a few minutes ago!”
“You wouldn’t have kissed me if you didn’t want to be.” Sanji smirked at her.
“And how are you so sure?”
“Because from what I’ve heard, you use your feminine appeal if the situation calls for it, but you’ve never kissed someone.”
“You’ve been keeping tabs on me?”
“I have a friend in the force, and I ask him about you. I worry about you.” He finished before smirking, “You sure give them a run for their money though.” He remembered his friend begrudgingly admitting how difficult she was when they occasionally encountered her. It appeared she kept her criminal activity according to his schedule.
She snorted, pleased with herself.
He flipped the hand still on his knee so he could tangle his fingers with hers. “I want to be a couple, if you want…” His voice trailing off, unsure.
Black Cat could feel a blush forming on her face and she felt flustered, she nodded and choked out, “After all of this is done.” Normally his face was covered with a mask and glasses but to be at the brunt of such a radiant smile was almost too much, did he even realise how handsome he was? “We still have a gang to deal with and it won’t be easy.”
They were interrupted from any further discussion as her stomach grumbled, Sanji raised an eyebrow looking at her. “When was the last time you ate?”
“I’ve eaten today,” she said flippantly.
Sanji’s eyes narrowed at her vague answer and recalled earlier that she’d been waiting for ages. He looked at his watch, it was almost 8pm. “Come on, let’s go to the kitchen. I’m a chef, I don’t like people going hungry.”
“Oh no really, it’s fine!”
Except he wasn’t listening anymore and left the living room to go to the kitchen down the hall, leaving her to trail behind him, insisting that she didn’t need to be fussed over.
“Don’t you at least want to change first?” She asked. He was still in his suit from work at the restaurant.
“Not right now, I can change later once we’re both fed.” His jacket was now hung-over a bar stool at the kitchen bar, and he was rolling up the sleeves of his shirt as he started getting ingredients out. “Take a seat.” He gestured for her to sit on the other bar stool.
She sighed. No matter what she said he was intent on feeding her and hadn’t listened to a word she said in protest. Giving up, she took a seat and settled on watching him cook. At least from this vantage point she could give him a once over without him catching her, admiring the way his suit fitted him. He turned to ask her something and raised an eyebrow when he caught her red-handed checking him out, or more accurately, his behind. He didn’t need to say anything when she jumped and suddenly averted her eyes to the side, pretending to take in the kitchen.
When he’d finishing plating up the food, he turned and this time she was actually looking around his kitchen. This was almost surreal, having Black Cat in his kitchen eating dinner with him. He felt like he should pinch himself.
This was one of the best things about being a chef. He’d placed the food in front of her and whilst she’d politely waited for him, he didn’t miss the delight on her face when she’d started eating. He enjoyed people enjoying his food.
Whilst they were eating, he started telling her about his day. They’d held conversations in the past and they did actually get along quite well, but it struck him that he knew very little personal details about her. It wasn’t much of a surprise, she was a wanted person after all, and he wasn’t sure whether she’d even tell him.
He stopped talking midstream, interrupting himself, “What about you? Apart from breaking into my apartment, not that I mind, what have you been up to? Actually, I haven’t seen you for a week, have you been okay?”
She considered him for a moment, deciding on what information to give him, “Well, I circled around the city for a bit today before breaking in, to make sure no one was following me. As for my week, I’ve been at work. I’ve being putting Black Cat away, until I could come here. I think there’s people looking for me.”
That was a lot of information to take in, Sanji thought. “There’s people looking for you?” He asked with concern.
“I think I’m being kept tabs on by the gang, I may have cleared some of my name but they’re suspicious. Maybe let’s get into this after we’ve eaten. I have a lot to discuss with you.”
“So, you also work? Similar to myself then. What do you do?”
She smiled coyly, “Trying to find me?”
It hadn’t even occurred to him before, until this very moment, “Wait, have we met? When I’m me and you’re not Black Cat?”
She laughed and looked amused when she replied, “Yes we have, and you barely looked at me. It was both incredibly flattering and a bit rude. You were too hung up over Black Cat in the newspaper.”
Wracking his brain he couldn’t even think of when this may have happened. To be fair, he was always hung up over her… but to ignore her over Black Cat… but then she was Black Cat, so his attention was on her. His head was starting to hurt.
“You know I am actually interested in you behind the mask, right?” He had to clarify this, whilst they were skirting around the topic.
She nodded and smiled, “I kind of guessed when you showed no interest in any women at all, apart from Black Cat.”
It was now his turn to smile, “So, you’ve been keeping track of civilian me and my personal relationships?”
She couldn’t make eye contact as she replied, “You’ve shown a great amount of interest, I wanted to see whether it was genuine or not.”
It was true. At first, she had been curious when he’d ignored her. She knew she was attractive and knew about his weakness to women, but when she’d started to develop feelings for him in return, she was checking to make sure he wouldn’t break her heart.
“Because you like me?” Sanji couldn’t keep the joy out of his voice.
“Well I think we’ve already covered this, why else would I have kissed you?” She rolled her eyes, trying to stamp down the blush.
“I know, I just can’t believe it.” He paused as he considered her words and the meaning running deeper underneath. “I know I have a certain reputation around the city as being weak to women, but that just came from be inability to hit them.” He ran a hand through his hair, trying to pick his words carefully. “I was raised not to hit women; it was ingrained in me and I’ve never been able to shake it off. But please don’t misconstrue it. I’m a one-woman man.”
Next to him, she smiled. She already suspected as much, but it did put her at ease hearing it from him. It appeared she’d picked a good one. She leaned over to kiss his cheek. “Thanks for dinner, let me help wash up.” He didn’t even see her pick up his empty plate as she made her way over to the sink.
They continued discussing their weeks, her hedging around any personal details she wasn’t willing to share yet, as Sanji washed and Black Cat dried.
It was nice, Sanji thought. Having her like this, not on opposing sides and just being domestic. Even if she was still is her costume. It was as close as he could have her for the time being.
It was almost 9.30pm by the time they’d finished, and he made them both a coffee. There was still a lot to discuss. They both settled back on the sofa in the living room, leaving their mugs on the coffee table in front of it.
Before Sanji could say anything, Black Cat put her hand on his arm to stop him. “There’s a lot to go through, so I’m going to go from the beginning and stop me if you have any questions.” She said.
“You’ve now seen the most prominent gang members, they run everything but never go out in the field, so that’s why you’ve never seen them. They pull the strings from behind the scenes. They’re incredibly dangerous and if you go against them, they will ruin your life. They either know everything about you or have enough connections to find out.” She paused. “I’ve never been Black Cat before moving to this city, I’m only here because I want to take them down and this suit provides the people close to me safety. Also, it gave me the opportunity to build a reputation so they’d invite me into their gang, and I could find out what their plan was.”
So he had been right, he’d never been able to find out any information about her prior to her appearance here.
She continued. “The gang is run under Arlong. He’s the boss. Without my mask he’d know who I was instantly. Eight years ago, he ran my village into the ground. We were thriving and happy, but he came in to use it as a test run. He brought criminals into our village and imposed a tax on all of us to ensure our safety from them. The police in our village stood up to them. The woman leading them was my adoptive mother Bell-mère,” she paused for a moment to compose herself (‘Bell-mère, no, Bell-mèrrrrrre’), it still stung. “He beat her and publicly killed her in front of the village to make a point.” A tear escaped and ran down her cheek.
Sanji ground his teeth, not only hearing of how they treated women but for Black Cat. For her to go through all of that… and then to be working for them. His hand reached out to hold hers, his thumb rubbing along the back of her hand to rub along it in a soothing gesture.
She paused, gathering herself, before continuing. “The village agreed afterwards no one else should have to die like that and we obeyed his rules, waiting for the day he’d leave. He finally did and took all the resources with him. I swore to myself I would make it right. For Bell-mère and for my village. I later found out he was producing drugs. There’s a reason why they’re all so big. They’re manufacturing drugs that alter human abilities. They’re unstable and have adverse effects, I refused to take them, but Kalifa did and so have they. They’re inhumanly strong and quick. He thinks with a big enough army, no one will be able to stand in his way, so he can start taking over the region.”
“Shit, this isn’t good.” Okay, so they were in deep trouble. He exhaled loudly and started thinking about what they were going to do.
“I can feel you thinking. I already have a plan in motion. I had one from the very start, but someone came into the picture and I’ve had to alter it. I now need your help.”
He shouldn’t be happy about this situation, but he couldn’t stop himself. She wasn’t a bad guy at all, and she hadn’t planned on using him, she genuinely liked him. She’d made it pretty clear by now that this was the case, but it was just so nice to hear. He cupped her face and brought her into a swift kiss. “I’m all ears, m’dear. The floor is yours.”
She coughed to compose herself from the sudden kiss, “Well, ah, yes. The plan. It turns out I actually am the leak; my friend works in the newspaper and I’ve been leaking information to put pressure on Arlong and his men. I was always going to pin it on Kalifa, I’d mentioned her to Hatchan, Arlong’s right hand man, and he fell for the bait and recommended her to Arlong. He’s not the sharpest tool.” She laughed to herself. “Obviously, I had to move up the schedule once I’d taken her down, with her new abilities you wouldn’t have been able to take her down without exerting force, and I outed myself to the papers myself to try and win myself more time with Arlong. I know where the drugs are and where they’re storing their money. They don’t know about my clima-tact; I’ve worked hard to keep that a secret. It’s the only thing I have against them that they won’t be expecting-”
“Sorry to interrupt, but I was curious about the baton, will you tell me about it?” It wasn’t relevant at all, but there had been so many questions going round in Sanji’s head for weeks and seeing most of them were slowly being checked off, he might as well go for this one too.
Black Cat considered him for a moment, before answering. “I have a friend who’s quite handy and he made it for me, as well as some other gadgets. It’s a weather weapon, I have a degree in climatology and with that knowledge I can control the clima-tact.” She finished proudly.
“So you work in weather?” Sanji considered her for a second, she’d make a beautiful weather lady.
“That’s the first thing you think of after I tell you about a magic weather weapon?” She laughed. “But no, hopefully after all of this is done, I’d like to get into the field.”
“You’re amazing, you know. Doing all of this.” Sanji could feel himself falling deeper into the rabbit hole after talking to her. They’d spoken before during the 6 months he’d known her but not like this. She was a beautiful person, through and through.
Moving closer, Black Cat tucked her head in the crook of his neck. She’d never felt so comfortable around someone before. She could hear his heartbeat picking up and she smiled. He was still so nervous around her, it made her like him even more that he technically had her at the point but still had this kind of reaction around her. She moved her hand to twine with his and his free hand came to rest over their joined ones. “Hmmm, this is nice.”
He didn’t say anything in return, just rested his head on top of hers.
Jolting awake, Sanji woke to a pitch-black room, only the streetlights outside giving a dim glow. He could feel a weight in his hand and looked down to see their hands still loosely joined. She’d stayed. And fallen asleep with him. He wanted to squeeze her, he was so content right now, but he didn’t want to wake her.
Looking at his watch it was only 12am, they hadn’t nodded off for long, but he did feel self-conscious, it’d been a long day and he was pretty sure he smelled. The inner gentleman in him refused to leave her to sleep on the sofa, he’d move her to his bed, and he’d sleep on the sofa after taking a shower.
As he picked her up, she stirred and tucked herself in closer to him, mumbling incoherently. How cute. He laid her down, using a spare blanket to lay over her and moved over to his draws to pull out sleeping bottoms before going to the adjoining bathroom to shower.
It was a quick shower, only about ten minutes and he was walking back into his bedroom with a towel wrapped around his shoulders trying to get the moisture out of his hair. He was careful not to shine the light from the bathroom onto her face, only using it so he could make it out the room without stubbing his toe.
There was a sense of déjà vu as he looked at the bed to see her laying before him, amber eyes meeting shocked blue ones. “Oh, you’re awake, did I wake you? Sorry.”
She completely ignored what he said, “You really weren’t joking about working out, you’re ripped.” Except her tone wasn’t joking or coy like usual, she sounded in awe. She’d always known he had a good body; it was hard to miss in his suit but seeing him without a top on. He was lean but muscular. Defined arms, even though he didn’t use his hands to fight, broad shoulders that tapered down to a trim waist and six pack. What a view.
And just like that, the room was flooded with tension as they took each other in. Their eyes moving along the others body before resting on the other’s face. For once, not in a dangerous situation or where they’re trying to read the other’s movements. Sanji could feel his heart pounding and in the quiet room, he wondered if she could hear it too. Her eyes were huge, and they were slowly drawing him in. He’d never seen her look at him like that and he had to convince himself to swallow and breath to keep a level head.
He didn’t realise he’d moved until his legs hit the bed. She was looking up at him now, pushing herself to sit up and her arms slid along his arms to grab the towel around his neck to pull him down, so his face was a hairsbreadth away from hers. His arms came down on either side of her face to support himself as he leaned over her. They slowly drew in closer to each other until they met in the middle to kiss. This wasn’t like any of their other kisses. It started slowly, lips brushing against each other until their kisses became longer as more pressure was applied. They started to become hot, needy and desperate as Sanji slipped his tongue into her mouth. Perhaps it was because it was so long overdue, the time of night or because they were about to tread dangerous waters with this gang takedown.
None of those thoughts mattered though as Black Cat tugged the towel down closer to her, becoming frustrated by the distance still between them and pulled back to nip at his bottom lip. It didn’t take much more than that for him to change his position, his hand sliding along the thigh furthest away from him to part them and make space for himself. She had no issue with this, parting her legs in invitation as he settled his body in between them, no longer leaning over her. She gasped as his body settled against hers and he used the opportunity to slip his tongue back into her mouth. Her hands moved from the towel and pushed it away so she could thread her fingers through his hair, their mouths moving together in rhythm. She earned a groan of approval from him.
They broke apart for a brief second to catch their breaths, before meeting again for another hurried kissing, the bodies slowly starting to move against each other’s. His hands moved along the leather of her suit and groaned when his hand pressed up against the side of her breast. Her body was something else. He nibbled her lip in parting before he moved down to the side of her neck, leaving a trail of blazing hot kisses. She made the sexiest little noises and the way she was wiggling her hips was driving his crazy. He could feel himself hard and ready, only getting worse with each of her gasps, did she know how much he turned her on?
She did in that moment as she ground her hips fully against him. He could feel the heat through her suit and could only imagine how wet she was. Hotly against her neck, he said, “You’re so sexy,” and squeezed her breast over her suit. The moan he received in response was almost dizzying and she slowly started a rhythm of moving her hips to rub against him, her legs tight against his waist, locking him in place. Not that he was going anywhere, his hips moving along with hers and pulling back to thrust against her.
He pulled away to look down at her face. She was breath-taking and he couldn’t believe that he was in this moment with her. His hand moved from her breast up to the zip to slowly pull it down but hesitated. He looked at her face again and was met with smouldering amber eyes, they hazily looked back at him in question as to why he’d stopped. Amber eyes filled with lust… behind a black mask.
He sighed and pulled away to sit up on the back of his heels, trying to reason with himself and resist the urge to ravish her. His hands running through his hair in frustration.
“Sanji, what’s wrong?” She asked, sitting up in concern. Moments ago they were filled with lust, now they reflected nothing but worry.
“I can’t do it like this,” he said despairingly. One of her hands moved to his shoulders to comfortingly rub along them and encourage him to continue speaking. “I don’t want our first time to be like this. You deserve more. I want to wine and dine you first, know everything about you and not have a gang looming over us. And I completely understand you might be uncomfortable taking your mask off right now, but I want to see you properly when we do this. You. Not Black Cat.”
Oh, she’d picked a good one alright. “You’re right. It’s okay.”
“Are you sure? I don’t want to offend you. I want you; I really do but, I want everything.” He couldn’t bring himself to look at her yet.
Hands moved to cup his jaw, bringing him up to face her. “You’re the sweetest man I’ve ever met. You’re right though, now’s not a good time for this. Come here.” She removed her hand from his shoulder and opened her arms to hug him.
He returned the hug eagerly, bringing her up to him, squeezing her to him and making her laugh. “Please stay the night here though, I’ll take the sofa, I’d worry if you went out this late.”
“Just stay here,” she said matter-of-factly, and he had to ignore the way he twitched in his trousers, he was trying not to think about her in bed with him right now. Pure thoughts, pure thoughts, he chanted to himself in his head.
He nodded, composed. “If you want me to. I have a spare change of clothes; you can keep the mask on. No pressure.”
She went to change, coming back to join him, mask still on but cat ears off. He was laying on his back and to her delight, he hadn’t put a shirt on. They wouldn’t be doing anything tonight, but the eye candy wasn’t something she’d turn down. He lifted his arm for her when she entered the room and she accepted the silent invitation to cuddle into his chest, her hand resting over his heart.

.
He woke up alone, the light peeking through the curtains and the spot cold where she’d slept last night. He almost groaned in disappointment, he really wanted to wake up to her, but his eye caught the brightly coloured note on his chest.
Went home to shower. I’ll be back shortly.
We still have a lot of planning to do.
xxx
This time his groan was for another reason, the thought of showering with her and his mind running through last night. He’d done the right thing… but still. Shaking away any further thoughts, he went to have his own shower and prepare for when Black Cat got back. What should they have for lunch? Or would she be back in time for breakfast?
She wouldn’t be back in time for breakfast. She’d been gone for hours and he was starting to worry. Sanji couldn’t help but fret, her note had said shortly. He’d begun pacing around the apartment, he didn’t want to be clingy and go looking for her, but he made a deal with himself, if she wasn’t back in 30 minutes, he’d put his Stealth suit on and go out.
Ten minutes later, he could hear the windowsill in his bedroom opening. He sprung up from the sofa in the living room (in vain he’d been trying to distract himself) and was met with a very dishevelled Black Cat. Her normally immaculate hair was all over the place, she was heavily breathing and… was that a rip in her suit? “Holy shit, are you okay? You’re not hurt, are you?” He was in front of her, arms roaming across her body to look for any cuts. When it ran along her waist, she cringed, and his fingers came back with blood on them. “You’re bleeding?!” He said almost hysterically.
“Sanji, calm down. It’s not as bad as it looks. I was caught off guard. It’s a flesh wound really.” She tried to reassure him. “There was no point in showering though, I’m a mess again,” she tried to joke to lighten the mood, but it fell flat. He was too concerned.
He could kick himself. Here he was, in his comfortable apartment, whilst something happened to her. “Tell me what happened.”
She’d borrowed another of his shirts, so she could peel down her uniform whilst preserving her modesty and he could deal with the cut on her waist. It was just a flesh wound, but it didn’t make him feel better. As he cleaned her up, she was telling him about what had happened. She’d been right, Arlong had not been convinced and instead sent someone to just dispose of her. The thug had caught her by surprise on the way back and they’d scuffled, she’d struggled to get the upper hand but when she did, there hadn’t been any more issues.
“So, where is he now?”
“…Well, that’s the thing.” She paused, as if thinking about how to phrase this. “He’s passed out outside in the alley way, with zip ties around his hands and feet. He’s not going anywhere anytime soon but it does mean we need to strike tonight. I wanted to do it in a few days’ time, but we don’t have that luxury anymore. Arlong won’t like him not returning, he’ll know something’s wrong.”
Sanji rubbed his forehead, this was a nightmare, but he agreed with her. “Any plans for the body? We can’t leave him in my apartment, nor can we hand him into the police because they’re being paid off.”
“Well, I do have one idea… you said you have a friend in the police?”
.
.
.
“What did you say to get him to come here?” Black Cat had already shared her concerns with texting him outright, in case someone saw, or their messages were being monitored.
“I asked him if he wanted to come over for lunch,” he replied casually.
Her eyebrows shot up, “Seriously?! I told you to be discreet but where’s the urgency, we can’t leave an unconscious body outside?!”
“I never invite him for lunch.” He told her, deadly serious. “He’ll know something’s wrong.”
She cocked her head in confusion, they were friends, right? Anything else she had to say was cut off as there was a knock on the door.
Sanji looked through the peephole and opened the door. The other guy looked at Sanji, a bored expression on his face but changed to one of alarm as he saw Black Cat peering over Sanji’s shoulder. His hand went to the gun on his hip and hissed out, “What the hell is she doing here?”
Sanji’s face turned dark as he put himself fully between the man at the door and Black Cat. “What the hell do you think you’re doing, shitty bastard?”
“I’m obeying the law! She’s a criminal, I don’t forget that when a woman bats her eyes at me, unlike you, pervert.”
“What did you call me?”
“Per-vert.”
“Moss head!”
Black Cat could feel her temper thinning as the two grown men in front of her descended into childish bickering. It was the last straw as they both grabbed each other’s collars, tugging at each other. She walked over to them, hitting them both on the back of the head. “Would you two focus! We’re against the clock.”
It turned out Sanji’s police friend was actually a childhood friend named Zoro. They had an… interesting friendship, they were like brothers; easily descending into arguing and fighting, but clearly had each other’s backs like family. Sanji had reassured her that Zoro’s nicknames for him were way behind him. He’d admitted when he was younger, his soft spot for women was a bit more than just refusing to hit them, but he’d grown up since then and the moss head now used it to get on his nerves. She understood he was still a bit perverted; she’d seen that many times during their encounters, but it appeared to be with just her, he wasn’t the least bit interested in Kalifa and she was a stunning woman.
But regardless of their relationship, it was quite clear that Zoro didn’t trust her, no matter how much Sanji waved him off.
That didn’t stop her teasing him though, “Are you just annoyed you’ve never been able to catch me?” She smirked at him.
His face went red in annoyance and he huffed, turning his face to the side and refusing to look at her. It didn’t help that Sanji was next to her, throwing him looks too.
Before anything could start up again, she started talking about her plan. She wanted Zoro to take the guy from the alleyway into the police station but under the guise of public intoxication to get him out of the way for the time being and without anyone being paid off by Arlong to tip him off. She and Sanji would sneak into the hideout tonight.
Zoro wasn’t pleased about being left out of taking down the gang and it took some explaining from Black Cat to make him understand. They were dangerous and he had no disguise, even if Arlong was behind bars, anyone in his life wouldn’t be safe. Arlong had all kind of connections. She would be calling him in, with the rest of the police force, when they were down, and the drugs would be with them. Reluctantly he agreed but told them to contact him in case things went pear shaped.
After their planning, Sanji went down with Zoro to get the guy and make him look drunk. In other words, pouring alcohol on his clothes so he reeked. He’d be disorientated enough when he finally woke up to pass for drunk.
“You sure about her?” Zoro nodded up to Sanji’s apartment, referencing Black Cat.
Hands in his pockets, Sanji nodded. “Absolutely. She’s not a bad person.”
“She’s a criminal.”
“She’s a petty thief- and she’s only doing it to take down Arlong.”
Zoro considered his words and examined Sanji’s face. Not a hint of doubt.
“Worried about me?” Sanji said, smirking at the other man.
“Tch, no.” He responded in agitation.
They loaded to man into Zoro’s police car. Zoro was about to go but stopped as he opened the door, “Good luck tonight, call if you need me.” He got into the car but before he closed the door he called out, “You make a disgusting couple,” and slammed the door, not giving Sanji a chance to respond.
In his own weird way, Zoro had just given his approval.
Sanji smiled before making his way back up to his apartment and Black Cat. They still had to flesh out more details.
.
.
.
“You’re sure about this?” Stealth Black whispered to Black Cat, as they stood in front of a secret entrance she’d made for when this day came. “If you want a few more days to plan, you’re welcome to stay at my place.”
She rolled her eyes. “My plan’s always been the same, only now I have an accomplice. So this way it’s not impossible. Do you trust me?” She looked at him, holding eye contact.
“With my life.” Was his blunt response.
“Then we can do it. Let’s go.”
They’d gone down to the pier cloaked in invisibility. Black Cat had used that very moment to show a handy feature, she also had heat tracking so they could keep up with one another. The ears of her costume came down to become glasses when she needed them. He mentioned the similarity of her glasses with his and she waggled her eyebrows at him cheekily, casually mentioning her tech guy knew his, Franky. Where did he think his guy suddenly got the idea from?
“Right, so we first locate the drugs and money, then we pick them off one by one, that’s our only chance. It’ll only be Arlong and the other three right now, maybe a few strays that aren’t out and about but they’re easy to deal with. It’s those four we have to keep separate.” Stealth Black nodded, taking in the information she gave him.
Black Cat lead them, both masked in invisibility as they navigated through the hideout via the beaming and scaffolding near the ceiling. They were close to the main room where Arlong generally stayed and overheard him, his voice commanding. “What do you mean he hasn’t returned? Where the hell is she now?”
Another voice responded but was too quiet to make out, almost as if they didn’t want to be heard.
“You don’t know where Black Cat is? Did I not make my instructions clear? Don’t return without her body.” Arlong shouted and the body came crashing through the opening. “What the hell are you looking at? Go with him.”
Other bodies scurried out, picking up the man crumpled against the wall.
Stealth Black frowned and looked at the woman in front of him in worry. He wanted her dead and he couldn’t stop imagining it, his heart constricting. Over his dead body. She’d make it through this alive, she’s scarified enough.
Amber eyes turned to him, whispering, “Don’t worry, if they think I’m still out there, they won’t suspect I’m in here and-” she grinned, “-Arlong’s emptied out the place for us.”
Continuing forward, Black Cat did an exceptional job navigating their base and within minutes of entering they were dropping down from the ceiling to land in front of the door. It’d taken her a week to find this room, they’d kept it well hidden and by the looks of it only Arlong and his three most trusted men knew about it, as following lower ranking gang members had led to nothing. She’d had to follow Kuroobi, which was a risk, but it’d paid off and then opening it had been a cinch. They kept their loot in this room, both the money and merchandise. They appeared smart but clearly weren’t, why would you keep two valuable parts of the business together?
But she’d gotten cocky. Hearing Arlong send people out looking for her gave her confidence and she’d entered the room with very little precaution, Stealth Black following in after her, his back to her as he checked to make sure no one was coming.
That’s how they now found themselves face to face with Hatchan and Chew. Chew had been talking to Hatchan before they both heard the door open. Black Cat stilled as the other two men looked just as surprised to see her suddenly appear, Stealth Black still none the wiser as he inspected the hallway. He did turn when she suddenly started tapping his back to get his attention.
“It looks like we’re in undetec…ted,” Stealth Black finished slowly as he turned to see the situation in the room. “Shit.”
Chew looked unimpressed, raising an eyebrow at their carelessness. Hatchan laughed, “Word got to us what actually happened with Kalifa, so Arlong took action.”
Of course it did, Black Cat bit her cheek. There was too many threads dangling in her plan, trust one of them to trip her over so close to the end. Oh well, they’d planned to take them down anyway, this section would just be harder than the rest. At least Arlong and Kuroobi didn’t know they were here yet.
“Hatchan, you take care of them, I’ll let Arlong and Kuroobi know.” Chew said.
“Stealth, you’re in charge of Hatchan, I’ll take Chew.” Black Cat said and Stealth Black nodded back to her. Chew snorted in derision, but still tensed, ready for her attack. They both moved at the same time towards their targets.
“It’s ridiculous to think you can take me on. You’re inferior to me.” Chew spat out at Black Cat.
Her clima-tact out, Black Cat suddenly extended it, so it shot out to hit Chew in the face and he stumbled back, not expecting it. He recovered quickly, seemingly taking her seriously now and shooting forward to punch her. She jumped to the side barely missing it. Right, increased strength and speed, she reminded herself.
Across the room, Hatchan had drawn his sword to use against Stealth Black, something he wasn’t worried about as Zoro had used his kendo sticks against him when they were younger. Stealth Black did glance over to Black Cat to make sure she was okay and watched as he butted Chew in the stomach with her clima-tact.
“You should keep your eyes on your opponent,” Hatchan said and swung his sword towards Stealth Black’s head, but he managed to bend backwards at the last minute to dodge it. He was a few hairs shorter now though. He launched himself into the air to avoid any more sword attacks and came flying down to deliver a swift kick to Hatchan’s face.
So far, Chew had only managed to nick Black Cat with a hit on her shoulder and trip her twice. He was getting more and more frustrated; she was quick on her feet and he couldn’t land a hit. He tried to rush her, throwing constant punches and not allowing her to respond, until he finally cornered her against the wall. She ducked when his fist came flying towards her, his fist colliding with the wall and going through it. Whilst he was stuck, she moved around him but wasn’t expecting him to rip out part of the cement wall and throw it at her. She went down with a scream and just as he was about to kick in her face, Hatchan came flying towards Chew, crashing into him and through the other still intact wall.
Stealth Black was at her side, helping her sit up. He’d seen Chew about to hit her in the face and recklessly kicked Hatchan towards the pair. “Are you okay?”
“I’m fine, I just wasn’t expecting it. It’s my own fault.” She said, now standing. “Contact Zoro and let him know there’s gang members on the streets, they can easily be handled. They’ll be downtown, the industrial estate, tell him to grab some trusted police officers too.”
They both paused as they could hear footsteps moving towards the room they were in, they nervously looked towards Chew and Hatchan, who still hadn’t gotten back up since being launched into the adjoining room. They looked at each other and nodded, both instantly understanding the other.
Kuroobi entered the room and looked furious as he saw his fallen comrades. He appeared to just stand there a second, before he called out. “Come out here you little rat, I know you’re here.” He turned around, scanning the room and locked onto something in the corner of the room. He launched himself across the room, his punch being blocked but what he wasn’t expecting was someone to come from the other corner and smack him across the head.
From the floor, he watched as the person in front of him revealed themselves to be Stealth Black and the one who had the audacity to knock himself to the floor was none other than Black Cat herself, smirking down at his stupefied face, clima-tact resting on her shoulder.
He picked himself up as Black Cat and Stealth Black tensed. “I’m stronger and faster, if you think you can beat me, you’ve got another thing coming.”
“Black Cat, move the money and drugs to another location, I can deal with this.” Stealth Black said, not taking his eyes off of Kuroobi. She nodded to moved towards the money and just as Kuroobi was about to move to stop her, he had to block off Stealth Black who had come running towards him.
Kuroobi and Stealth Black were then locked in flurry attacks. Punches and kicks being thrown from the both of them and they only just about managed to block them. However, Kuroobi found an opening and punched Stealth Black in the abdomen, sending him to the floor winded and proceeded to kick him in the side. Stealth Black laid there, pain shooting through his body, those guys hit hard. He’d have to be careful; he wasn’t sure how many more of those he could take.
Whilst Stealth Black was trying to recover, Kuroobi locked his eyes on the traitor that had her grubby hands on their money. He grabbed her shoulder and threw her back, causing her to drop the bag on money and groan as she felt the rubble from broken walls cutting through her suit. She detached the clima-tact from her belt and twirled it through her fingers as she considered the man in front of him, both of them circling each other.
“What, no whip?” Kuroobi sneered at her, jabbing his arm out, she managed to dodge the first but the second connected with her shoulder.
“Oh, I’ve got something that’ll sting alright.” She responded as electricity crackled through her clima-tact and the confidence melted off his face, not expecting the device to do anything. She stormed forward, whipping the clima-tact round to connect with his face and send electricity coursing through him. She then launched a gust of wind at him and he stumbled back, still standing but just barely.
“Now Stealth Black!” She shouted.
Kuroobi could barely turn before Stealth Black was before him and roundhouse kicking him, sending him stumbling to the floor. Stealth flipped forward, activating the boosters, to send his foot careening into the back of Kuroobi’s head and then kick him in the side to send him towards Black Cat. At her feet, Kuroobi looked up and the last thing he saw before blacking out was her clima-tact coming down to make contact with his face.
It was Black Cat’s turn to move towards Stealth Black. Her hands cupped his face but all she could see on him was a few scratches from being thrown around. She imagined she didn’t look much better. “Well, not exactly how I planned it, but we’ve still got 3 out of 4.”
“Shame he’s the hardest one.” His side was screaming at him not to move but he got to his feet regardless, trying to mask the grimace. He noticed she did something similar, but she was walking towards the door before he could say anything else. She peered into the hallways and found it empty. She gestured with her hand for him to follow.
They were jogging down the hall, discussing what their next move would be when they both heard a rumbling sound. Stopping, they looked around to see nothing and it was only too late that they realised something was running towards them. But not down the hallway, Arlong was running through rooms, tearing down walls to reach them. With all the walls coming down, the hideout would collapse at this rate. He burst through with an enraged cry, and before they could move, they were being lifted by their necks and slammed into the wall behind them.
“I’m going to kill you both to make an example, how dare you do that to my comrades.” He leaned over them, looking animalistic with his nostrils flared and teeth bared at them. They both struggled against him, his grip like iron and Stealth tried to knee him in the abdomen but Arlong barely flinched. “You’ll be first,” he said, eyes boring into Black Cat’s face.
Arlong’s head reared back to head butt Stealth Black and then proceeded to throw him away like a dirty tissue down the hall. With his hand now free he tore the wall down behind Black Cat and threw her through it. She rolled once she’d made impact with the floor.
“I invited you in, trusted you with vital information and you betray me.” He walked towards her as she tried to crawl away from him. She couldn’t keep up and his foot came down on her free hand, she cried out in pain as he started to put his weight on it. “Tell me, tell me why you did it.”
Despite her situation, she looked at him with nothing but hatred in her eyes, “Because you’re a monster and I won’t let you get ruin this city and these people’s lives like you did my village.”
His face twisted into a cruel smirk. “Those people were pathetic and once I’m done with you, I’ll kill everyone in that puny village. You’ll have brought that fate on them. You can’t save shit.”
The clima-tact in her free hand came around to hit him in the face and she used that momentum to kick him in the chest, freeing her hand when he took a step back. When she got to her feet, he looked bored, like she’d barely done anything. It didn’t stop her though and she swung it again, hitting his chest, legs, head, anything she could to get him to the ground.
All the hits were for nothing as he levelled her with a questioning stare, “Finished?”
She smirked, looking past him, “Not quite.”
Arlong was thrown to the side from behind when Stealth Black joined the fight, his foot making contact with the side of his face. They both nodded at each other and moved in harmony. Both of them relentless, he would kick, and she would be ready with her clima-tact, either hitting him or sending him back to Stealth with a strong gust of wind. The man before them both wasn’t given a chance to get a hit in before the other was attacking.
But it seemed Arlong had grown bored, as his hand came out to catch Black Cat’s foot when she attempted to kick him and picked up her before sending her flying into Stealth Black. The impact sent them both flying back and rolling across the floor.
“Stealth, Stealth, are you okay?” Her hand came out to touch his, shaking it.
He looked up slowly and nodded but his face said otherwise. His eyebrow had split from where Arlong had headbutted him and a massive lump was forming under it, the blood trailing down the side of his eye. There was rips in his suit and she didn’t have to see it, but she knew there’d be some nasty bruises underneath that suit. They’d both taken a lot of damage. He attempted to get up, Arlong was slowly walking towards them but Stealth Black slumped back down. “Shit, we might be in trouble here.”
Black Cat frowned, she hadn’t taken as many hits as him, she needed to get up and buy some time. “Mirage tempo.”
Maybe he had a concussion, maybe he was already dead, and this was heaven. But his body hurt too much for that. There was multiple Black Cat’s standing in front of him. They all had a great behind though, he thought deliriously.
“Cheap tricks won’t work on me,” Arlong said, unamused at her antics.
She didn’t reply, instead all the versions of her split apart to run around him, openly mocking him, to stall him. It worked. His temper thinned dangerously, and he lunged one by one at the different versions, swiping his hands out and watching as one by one they disappeared at his touch. Until he was left with one.
But it was too late. Thunder crackled angrily from above him and a second later it came hurtling down. He screamed in pain as he was absorbed by white light.
When the light show receded, black smoke was coming off of his body and his mouth gaped open. He wheezed, but when he wheezed again, it wasn’t it pain. He was laughing. Laughing at her.
Her face paled. That was her strongest move.
“That’s it? Don’t tell me that’s your best move? Pathetic.” He advanced on her. When she brought her clima-tact up to hit him, he grabbed it and ripped it from her grip, throwing it behind him. He swatted the hands away that came to punch him and he painfully grabbed her hair, tugging it to make her stand on tip toes to try and alleviate the pressure. She was forced to look at him in the face as he snarled. “I’m better than you-” he kicked the feet supporting herself from under her, leaving her to dangle from her hair, “-I’m faster than you-” he slammed her into the wall, “-and that’s why you’re going to die.”
Stealth Black blearily looked up to see the love of his life being slammed against the wall. Arlong’s hands moving from her hair to around her neck, slowly choking the life out of her, as her hands clawed at him to no avail. Her face scrunched up and legs desperately kicking when she couldn’t intake air. His hands balled up, he gathered up whatever energy he had left, and he ran towards Arlong. He hooked his foot against the side of Arlong’s head and kicked with all his might, sending the both of them flying in different directions and successfully dislodging Black Cat from Arlong’s grip.
“Diable jambe.”
And Stealth Black was in the air plummeting towards Arlong’s head. The kick sent Arlong’s head into the concrete below him and Stealth spun, flipping over to send a kick into his side. He was in front of Arlong by the time he’d finished rolling from the kick, his foot coming under Arlong’s back to send him into the air and smacking back down into his chest to send Arlong crashing into the floor. Stealth fought to stand on his feet afterwards, his energy depleted and the injuries he’d sustained taking their toll.
It wasn’t enough though. Arlong twitched from the floor and rolled to his side to start getting back up again. What was this man made of? Perhaps if they both hadn’t fought others before hand, they wouldn’t have such a problem.
At least when Arlong got up, he looked a bit battered. The man still had more in him than the both of them combined but their hits were still taking a toll. But his stomach clenched. It wouldn’t be enough.
Stealth Black tried to block the punch but the force of it was too much and he was sent flying back. Looking next to him, Black Cat was laying on her side hunched over, hacking, and trying to intake air that she’d been denied.
Arlong was advancing on them and all Stealth Black could do was crawl towards the woman in front of him, insistent on trying to protect her and take whatever hit Arlong was about to deliver. Stealth was protectively in front of her, hand on her thigh to keep her behind him. She didn’t have the strength to argue this, she merely squeezed the hand on her thigh.
This would be it.
Arlong loomed in front of them, manic grin in place.
A gunshot sounded. Stealth Black opened previously clenched eyes to see Arlong standing there, eyes blown wide with a hole in his shoulder, blood saturating his shirt. Arlong stumbled around in disbelief.
“Get on the floor with your hands behind your head.” Came a rough voice. Black Cat’s arms came to wrap around Stealth’s shoulders as she rested her head against his back, her relieved laugh in his hear.
The moment was interrupted by another voice screaming at the top of their lungs and running into the room. Without hesitation the newcomer ran to Arlong and hit him square in the face, breaking his nose and causing him to fall to the floor in front of Stealth Black and Black Cat. The combination of all the attacks, current and previous, being enough to finally take him down.
“Luffy, I told you to round up the others!” Zoro grouchily said, lowering his gun.
The boy just grinned, sticking his finger up his nose, “Did you?”
“You know he can’t stick to a plan, why did you even bring him?” Black Stealth said from the floor, no malice in his voice, just amusement. Since Arlong was no longer a threat, he’d turned around to face Black Cat and cup her face, bringing their foreheads together. It was over. They’d done it… with help, but still.
“Couldn’t trust anyone at the precinct and at least Luffy has a fighting background, even if he is a firefighter- they aren’t being paid off.” Zoro rubbed a hand across his face. “I’ve called this in, police should be on their way. The news will be having a field day tomorrow.”
It was only then that Zoro looked closely at the two on the floor. “You two look like shit, by the way,” he said bluntly.
Pulling away from Stealth Black to face Zoro, Black cat beat him to responding, laughing despite the state of the pair of them. “How about we throw you around for a bit, then we’ll talk.”
“Right, Luffy you take Black Cat, I’ll take the idiot. We need to get you both looked at.” Zoro said, eyeing the nasty cut on Stealth’s eyebrow. Stealth looked like he was about to protest but couldn’t say anything when his ribs screamed at him to not move.
It didn’t stop Stealth from looking over his shoulder when Luffy went to pick her up, just to check on her. “Calm down would you, Luffy might be energetic but he knows when to dial it down,” Zoro said. Behind them, they could hear Luffy nattering away and Black Cat laughed at something he said, before groaning as she’d jolted something.
Knowing she was okay, he focused on not leaning too much of his weight on the marimo and tried walking himself. “How did you know where we were?”
Zoro shifted his grip on Stealth. “Got in contact with Franky when we’d rounded everyone up, he put a tracking device in your suit for emergency’s. Good thing he did otherwise you two would be in trouble.”
“What will happen now?” Stealth Black asked.
“Leave it to the police, for now. Shit’ll hit the fan at work,” Zoro groaned at the thought. “But Arlong and his gang will be dealt with, they’re no longer paying them.”

Black Cat and Stealth Black join forces to take down the malignant Arlong gang.
Police are currently under investigation after allegations they were being paid off…
Sanji was currently sitting in his favourite café, reading the latest newspaper and eyes skimming for any new information. He’d spoke to Zoro about the headlines, asking him if he was really okay that he received no credit. The other man had just shrugged him off, saying he didn’t need that kind of attention, especially considering the scrutiny they would now be under.
His eyes locked onto the information he was looking for.
Black Cat has not been seen since the gang takedown and the question still looms about whether she is still considered a criminal or not. Police are refusing to comment on the matter and Stealth Black has been unreachable. Can her past crimes be forgiven?
He shook his head, what trash and they call themselves to news. If only they knew what she’d done and everything she’d sacrificed, they’d be begging for forgiveness for even thinking about writing this. To even cast doubt on her was beyond him.
Once they’d made it out of the hideout, Black Cat had directed them towards a clinic her friend, Chopper, owned. The young doctor had looked aghast when he’d seen them and had treated them straight away. Sanji hadn’t managed to stay awake for much longer once they were in the clinic, his body finally succumbing to exhaustion now they were safe.
He’d woken a little later to find Black Cat in the chair next to his bed, dark marks covering her neck but a sunny smile on her face despite it. Sanji had tiredly smiled at her, his eyes fighting to stay awake so he could be in her presence for longer, but it was a battle he was losing. It was just as he was drifting off again then he felt lips pressing into the corner of his mouth and a whisper in his ear.
‘Come and find me.’
The words had been ringing around in his head ever since he’d woken back up to an empty room. Chopper had been angry that Black Cat hadn’t waited to be discharged by him.
Since then, he’d looked for her, he really had. He even had Zoro keeping an eye out on his patrols, but Black Cat had disappeared completely. He’d realised soon after exactly what she meant by what she’d whispered to him in the clinic and his brain was sifting through their conversation they’d had that night in his apartment, ‘‘Wait, have we met? When I’m me and you’re not Black Cat?’ ‘Yes, we have...’’.
She’d wanted him to find her, not Black Cat, but her civilian identity. And he’d kept her waiting so long already.
That’s how he’d found himself currently in the café. He’d spent the day walking around the city, going into his local bank, supermarket, petrol station, anywhere he frequented to try and find her. Every woman that he walked past made him feel paranoid.
But nothing.
He put his head in his hands, running them through his hair. She was a little minx, making him search for her like this with little clues. He wasn’t annoyed though; it was so her that it made him fond if anything.
“Would you like a refill on your coffee?” The waitresses voice interrupted turmoil but he didn’t move his head from his hands.
“Yes please.” He nodded.
‘and you barely looked at me…’ Whispered in the back of his mind.
He whipped his head up from his hands to look at the waitress next to him. Amber eyes filled with mirth, uncovered by a black mask and red lips twisting into a coy smirk. He’d imagined this moment so many moments and, in his daydreams, he was suave, sweeping her off her feet.
A stark contrast to the fool gaping at her, eyes moving frantically around her face, taking all of her in.
She laughed and sat down in front of him uninvited, although he would have invited her to sit if he could get his brain to work and pull her chair out like the goddamn gentleman he was supposed to be, but he couldn’t get his legs to move.
‘You’ve been here for 30 minutes and I’ve walked past multiple times, you’re very unobservant for a superhero,’ she lowered her voice towards the end. “I decided to put you out of your misery when my shift ended. You were looking despondent, so I decided to come save you.” She finished, winking at him.
He laughed at her pun, eyes still sweeping across her face, in fear of missing anything. His face lost all signs of amusement as his hand moved her long ginger hair away from her neck to see fading bruise marks. His mind replaying the moment when he’d looked up as Stealth Black to see her dangling by her neck, legs desperately kicking against Arlong. His eyes snapped open when the woman in front of him moved his hand from her neck to her cheek and resting against his hand.
“Are you okay?” Sanji asked, his thumb brushing against her cheek, looking for any signs of distress on her face.
“Better than okay.” Was her simple reply, her face showing nothing but happiness. He figured any other emotions would probably present themselves over the next few weeks. She was probably too overwhelmed with relief for the time being, a massive burden had been lifted from her shoulders.
It wouldn’t matter anyway; he’d be there to help her through it all.
“I suppose introductions are long overdue, at least on my behalf.” She pulled his hand away from her cheek and held it in front of them both, shaking it in introduction.
“I’m Nami.”
Am I an absolute tease for ending it like this? You bet your arse I am. But am I also writing an epilogue? Yes, I am. So I’m not completely horrible.
I’d had the ending written out roughly in my head since the start, with some changes along the way; the epilogue is completely new though. This has honestly been such a such a wonderful challenge. I’ve only written small little fluff pieces before, so to write something like this has been a pure joy. And a bit of a nightmare. I’ve spent all of February plotting and writing.
Also, forgive me for any errors, I’ve eyed this story multiple times and done the best I could.
Thank you for letting me share my imagination with you.

This is the second part for the AU one shot 'Ask Me Out'. @underworldsheiress I hope you like it! (This request was fun to write but I've left the dirty/smut thoughts out because of the other Sanji request, which I will write tomorrow!) Thank you for reading and I wish everyone an amazing weekend! - 1.484 words - romance, too much romance, a little smut, no nosebleed
Tumblr media
It was finally Friday evening. This whole week felt like a full month has passed. While you were curling your hair and setting your make up with some finishing touches, your little brother was mocking you for going out. He was still in the phase where women were disgusting creatures and you loved this about him, hoping this cute phase would never stop. When the doorbell rang, he ran downstairs and screamed like a maniac. "Shut up!", you yelled at him and rolled your eyes. You loved him but he deserved some whooping. As you hurried up to get your bag, you heard your brother talk to Sanji and you just had to stop and listen. "What's with your eyebrow?" Silence first, then Sanji countered, "What's with YOUR eyebrow?" "It looks more normal than yours! Why is it so curled?!", it seemed like your brother was truly upset about it. "Listen here, you little-", Sanji stopped when he suddenly spotted you. To him is seemed like you were walking down the stairs in slow motion, like in a beauty pageant show. "Breathe, Sanji-kun.", you placed your hand softly on his chest and kissed his cheek once very slowly, while also kissing the side of his lips. The way you had to restrain yourself to not actually kiss him on the lips was harder than you could have imagined but a little tease would never not be interesting. His arm automatically rested on the side of your hip as you slowly came back to your senses and blushed a little. Sanji looked down to you and smiled a little bit, like the true gentleman he is. No nosebleed, no hearty-eyes, just him. The true Sanji.
"You look amazingly beautiful, (Y/N)-chan.", he explained while driving the both of you to his favourite restaurant. He has told you once about his father adopting him when he was very little. His father was the famous chef in town but Sanji decided to study cooking behind his fathers' back because Sanji couldn't stand getting yelled at by his own father whenever he would screw up a meal. "Thank you. You look very handsome tonight, Sanji-kun.", you explained as you allowed yourself to have a closer look on him. Not only did he wear an elegant smoking but he also took off the tie, which you never liked on a man - except on him but you've never told him. His outfit was complete with his black trousers, an opened-necked white shirt with his sleeves rolled up, clean and matt suit shoes and his hair elegantly styled as ever. Even his cologne was perfectly matched. You had absolutely no idea how to resist this man for the rest of this night. "Do you like what you see, ma chère?", he smirked, knowing that you're checking him out. You definitely didn't need any sort of blush for this night as the sudden change of color in your face fixed that. With a soft laugh, he put his right hand on yours, which was resting on your lap and stroked your hand softly with his thumb. "We're here.", he explained and pulled your hand to his lips, gently kissing the back of your hand as he parked the car in the parking lot of his fathers' restaurant.
When you went out of the car, while he was holding the door for you, you realized that you were the only ones there. "Wait, it's closed? Shouldn't we-" "I closed it for tonight. I will cook for us." "What? I thought we would spent some time-", he didn't let you finish. Sanji's lips locked yours, while he softly pulled you away from the car and closer to him. Holding you tight to him, he couldn't let go off you. In the second he realized that you wanted more, he pushed you softly against the car, placed his hand gently on your cheek and kissed you more intense. His lips not letting yours go, his tongue exploring the taste of yours and the soft moans coming from both of you. A few seconds later, you knew that you needed to stop this before you wouldn't be able to resist any longer. You softly pushed him a little bit back and breathed hard, "We erm.. should.. get inside." With a soft grin, he nodded in agreement and kissed your forehead once softly, "Let's go, mademoiselle." He offered you his arm and walked you inside, softly holding your arm onto his. When you both entered the restaurant, you couldn't believe your eyes. Not only was it empty because there were no customers, but the whole room was empty. Usually there would be a ton of tables perfectly placed in a specific pattern but now they were all stacked on the sides of the main room. In the middle of the room, was a mini-kitchen. The chef would usually cook his famous meals in front of the customers and serve them on his own for various events. But today it was filled with candles, sweets and tons of roses. The whole floor was covered in roses and glitter. "Oh my.. Sanji, this looks amazing. But isn't it too much? You must have worked really hard for this..", you slowly walked around, trying not to ruin too much. He led you to your seat, which was right in front of the little kitchen. "Anything for you. I would have brought puppies or unicorns, if you'd have asked me to do so.", he winked at you and stroked your back carefully, when leaving your side to get into the kitchen. The short body contact, which he offered, was sometimes a bit too short but you've realized that he was always tensing his muscles whenever he would touch you the slightest bit. It seemed like it was as hard for him to keep his cool as it was for you. While he prepared your favourite meal of his', right in front of you, you two were exchanging stories, laughing and feeding each other every now and then. He would sometimes sit down next to you, while the next dish was cooking in the kitchen. Whenever he would hold your hand, or put his arm around you, you kind of wished for him to do more but it never happened. When Sanji was preparing your desert, you decided to use your chance and get his attention on you. You went into the kitchen and peeked around him to see what he was doing. He laughed and pulled you right in front of him, with his arms on your sides as he continued to fill little glasses with something that looked like pudding. With his head resting next to yours, he started to lose his focus. "Are you alright?", you smiled and watched his hands. Not hearing an answer for him, it seemed like he was fighting hard against not finishing the last meal. You put your hand on top of his muscular forearm and softly stroked your way down to his fingers. He stopped moving completely, watching your every move. As you tried to breathe normal, you helped him to fill the glass but none of you stopped when it was already full. A big drop of pudding landed on your finger and when you put your hand up to lick it away, Sanji was quicker than you. He immediately grabbed your wrist as he would have just saved your life with it and kissed it away, slowly tasting it. "Tastes even better, eating it from you.", he whispered loud enough for you to hear.
When he looked at you, still holding your wrist tight, he has seen a spark in your eyes, which he has never seen before. 'You like that..', he thought to himself. He softly pulled your wrist to his lips and kissed the little visible pulse once careful, as if he would hurt you somehow. "Sanji..", you whispered and leaned softly onto him. He took his free arm around you and held you close, slowly leaning you onto the kitchen counter. With your back against his front, he sighed desperetaly when your butt touched his already tensed member, which already screamed for your attention. As you've felt his excitement, you didn't want anything more but to finally become one with him. There was so much in your head, which you wanted to explore with him together but still too many clothes in your way. His hand softly made his way down between your legs, while his other hand pinned yours to the kitchen counter, not allowing you to move away. "If you don't like this, tell me to stop.", he breathed hard against your neck as you pressed yourself against him, hoping you wouldn't stop him. "I will never stop you, Sanji-kun.", you were only able to whisper as he has made his way to your warm destination.

A Hellish Encounter

Chapter 11: Family
The next two months go by in a flash. You manage to keep your powers in check as you help save the day on more than a few occasions. Citizens are starting to recognize you and even one small boy asked for your autograph. Being a hero is rewarding but nothing like being with Enji. Trying to keep your relationship secret is difficult at times. During hero work is easy because you’re staying alert for trouble. It gets almost impossible to keep your hands off of him when you’re in the agency. Luckily you have a demon to control your body because the one day you were working out with Enji and he used his shirt to dry his face. You almost reached out to touch his exposed abs when Zaheer stopped you in your tracks. However, you got caught in Enji’s office when Sanji walked in as you’re sitting in his lap making out. She said she would keep it a secret and Enji told you she could be trusted; so, crisis avoided. She was actually the one to suggest keeping your off days miss-aligned to avoid suspicion.
Today is the first day in over a month that you two are together for the day. You awaken in a familiar position, right on top of Enji as he pets your head.
“How’s my little flame this morning.” He says with a gentle smile.
“Mmmm, you know sleeping on top of you is so much nicer than any mattress, I get to feel your body under me.” As you wiggle a little.
He wraps you in a tight hug and kisses you a few times on your face. Even though you have been together for 2 months you still can’t help but blush from his affection and you quickly go face first into his bare chest.
“Now, now. Don’t go hiding that face from me, little flame.” As he lifts your head to make eye contact with you.
“Really, the pet name.” You roll your eyes but secretly you kind of enjoy it.
“Well, (Y/N),” in a sarcastic tone “what do you want me to call you?”
“I know I can’t stop you, you’re too stubborn anyway.”
“Ha! You’re right. So, what do want to do today before we meet with my children?”
“I’d like to walk through the forest and watch the leaves fall. Then I think we should pick up something to bring with to the kids. Maybe a cake or something.”
“That sounds like a plan to me, now let’s get up, I’m starting to get hungry.”
Enji always enjoys your cooking and over the past months you have really started to know his favorites. It’s nice to make something he really enjoys even if it just his favorite breakfast. After enjoying some salmon and rice, you head out. Seeing Enji in a turtle neck sweater just drives you wild. You must be having the same effect on him as he has a hard time looking away in your jacket with red scarf. Once in the car, Enji wanted to drive to a secluded temple to surprise you, but the road signs gave it away pretty quickly.
“I’ve never been to a Japanese temple before.”
“This temple is deep in the forest. I thought you might like a nice walk with a surprise at the end but I forgot about the signs. Wait, you have a demon inside of you, should I be worried about the spirits fighting?”
“I may come from hell but I never really got a chance to make a name for myself so we will be fine.”
“Won’t they sense your energy and be alerted to your presence?”
“We have been to other temples all over the world, so far we have been left alone.”
“Really?”
“They make good hiding spaces plus the people looking for me probably thought the same as you.”
“That’s a relief. And look, we are here.”
As you turn the corner, you see a large traditional temple arch with a winding path under it heading deep into the forest. As you leave the car, a fall breeze picks up some leaves and makes the trees rustle. You two begin walking down the path as the leaves fall and the morning light twinkles through the trees. The cool fall air sends a cold chill down your back and Enji wraps his arm around you and uses his quirk to warm you up.
“Thank you, Enji” you say as you tilt your head toward him, resting on his shoulder.
“You always get cold easily, why don’t you wear a warmer jacket?”
In a sarcastic tone “Maybe it’s an excuse for you to hold me.”
“Well, I think it’s working.” As he squeezes you tighter and kisses your head.
You to continue walking along the path, looking at nature around you. You stopped for a moment as you saw a deer. It stared at you both and slowly walked away after a moment. You continue down the path, hearing the sounds of leaves crunching under your feet. Once you reached the temple, you both dropped an offering and bowed. Staying there only a moment to appreciate the beauty of the building, you turn around and leave from once you came. It takes just about an hour to walk back to the car.
“Any ideas on what I should bring my children?” Enji says while turning the ignition.
“Well, everyone loves chocolate, so how about a chocolate mousse cake!”
“I like the idea of that, we better hurry so we are not late. I don’t want to disappoint them by being late.”
You can sense a bit of nervousness in his voice but it’s understandable; he hasn’t talked to his children in 8 months. You quickly find a small bakery, get a cute little cake with strawberries on top, and head to the apartment building. It’s the nicest apartment building you have ever seen, but Enji wants his kids to have the best so it makes sense. Once parked, he sighs and looks down at the cake box you are holding.
“I know you said you wouldn’t come inside the apartment but…. I don’t know if I can do this alone. I know Hina is going to do her best to help but I’m still worried about what I’m going to say.”
“I’ll go with you, but I’ll tell you this. If they ask about us, I don’t care if they know but do you care?”
“If it will get them to understand I am trying to change, I’ll tell them anything, even that I cried like a baby in front of you.”
You laugh “Let’s just hope you don’t cry in front of them, ok? Zaheer and I will monitor you to make sure your nerves aren’t getting the better of you.”
“Alright, I feel little more confident about this. Thank you.”
The heat coming off of Enji starts growing as the elevator starts heading up. You grab his hand to let him know you are there. As you stop in front of the apartment door, you give Enji a quick kiss on the cheek. “You can do this.” Is all that you whisper. He rings the doorbell and you notice he is holding his breath until you hear the door opening. Hina answers the door.
“Enji, something told me that you would bring (Y/N) with you.”
He goes pale “How would you know?”
“Oh, a little birdie may have told me a thing or two about you both.”
“Midnight….” He rumbles.
“A woman never gives up her sources. Don’t worry, I won’t tell anyone. Now get in here.”
You enter an upscale apartment. It’s even nicer than Enji’s home and almost as big, it must cost a fortune. Hina directs you to towards the living room and takes the cake from you. You sit down and wait while she gets the kids. It feels like forever waiting but eventually they all enter the room. You can practically cut the air with a knife the tension is so thick as they sit down. That’s when Enji finally speaks.
E: “I wanted to come here today to tell you all that I’m sorry for everything.”
N: “Really? Now after everything we have been through, you expect us to forgive you.”
F: “Give dad a chance, Natsuo.”
E: “He is right, I don’t expect you to forgive what I did to you. Your brother and mother are dead because of me. I have to live with what I did every day for the rest of my life. I know right now it might not look it but I want to become a hero; no, a father that you can look up to.”
N: “How do you plan on doing that?”
E: “If I’m being honest, I’m not entirely sure right now.”
N: “So you come here to apologize and not even have a plan. That’s it, I’m going!”  Natsuo tries to leave but is stopped in his tracks. He is forced to turn around and look at you.
Z: “Sit down and listen, this man still more to say!”
H: “You might want to listen; you don’t want to make a demon angry.”
N: “Fine…why are you here anyway?”
(Y/N): “Your father asked me to come.
F: “This is a family affair, I agree with Natsuo, you shouldn’t be here.”
(Y/N): “Can you just let him speak first? I will answer your questions afterwards. Enji, go ahead.”
E: “I know you might not believe me when I say that I know what I did hurt everyone. I pushed your brother too far and he died. I gave your mom so much stress and guilt that she took her own life. I separated Shoto from you and neglected you two for years. I pushed Shoto too far because of my selfish desires. I don’t even know how you can look at me right now. Knowing I caused all of this all of this hurt me so much that I have nightmares of watching myself hurt everyone. I couldn’t even look at myself in the mirror for months without feeling sick to my stomach. It got to the point that when (Y/N) tried to wake me one night I ended up almost killing him. That night I cried like I never have before. I never knew how much I hurt you all until your mother died and I never really processed my emotions until recently.”
N: “I don’t believe that you cried, you would never cry.”
(Y/N): “He is telling the truth; he did cry that night.”
F: “Why now? What changed? And why was (Y/N) with you?”
E: “(Y/N)… He is the reason I am having a change of heart.” You hold his hand which gives him a boost. “He has been with me and seen me at my lowest. I don’t know if I can do this out him. I’m telling you this now so you don’t hear it from someone else, but…” he takes a deep breath “We have been dating for the past 2 months.”
N: “YOU HAVE TO BE KIDDING ME! You’re telling me that my dad who doesn’t feel anything but hate has fallen love AND WITH A MAN? This had got to be some kind of joke! What makes you think we will believe any of this?”
(Y/N): “It’s true. I don’t know how else to make you believe it. Enji was so broken down that night. All of his emotions hit him at once, he even threw up because of his thoughts. I was there only to stay overnight till I got a better apartment but the world works in strange ways. If I wasn’t there, we wouldn’t be having this conversation right now. I don’t even know if your father would have made it much longer without me.”
N: “Why him? Have you seen what has done to us? Do you know what we went through?”
(Y/N): “I have, I can see memories with the help of Zaheer. I saw everything he did to you. I understand that you may never forgive him but give him a chance to prove that he really is trying to change. I know it might seem fake right now, but just know that he wants to be in your life. He wants to be better.”
F: “I want to believe you but I agree with Natsuo right now, it’s really hard to believe.”
H: “Not for me, I knew something was going to happen between you two. I saw it the first night you brought (Y/N) home”
F: “Wait, you knew? Why didn’t you tell us?”
H: “He needed to find himself first before he could even tell (Y/N). It’s not my place to say his feelings. Plus, you wouldn’t believe me even if I did tell you.”
(Y/N): “I know that Enji really wants to make things better. He is still coming to terms with his past but I hope you guys will give this apathetic man a chance.”
E: “(Y/N), I can show my feelings, but only with you right now.”
In the heat of the moment, he kisses you on the cheek but he then looks at his children, remembering where he was. Every Todoroki has shock on their face at this action and you are feeling like everything got awkward until Fuyumi spoke up.
F: “Well, that proves that you’re telling the true. The old dad would never kiss mom much let alone a man. Shoto, you haven’t said a word, what do you think?”
Shoto stands up and walks towards his father. Enji just stares as Shoto begins to speak.
S: “You hurt everyone and I don’t know if I can forgive you for that…. but I believe that you want to change. I believe that (Y/N) will help you. Give us some to time to think about it.”
E: “Thank you, son.”
Enji then gets up and hugs Shoto the best he can. He is about to cry with joy but you and Fuyumi join in as well. Hina pushes Natsuo into circle. After letting go, you enjoy some cake while small talk starts about school, work and how you two met. It was about an hour before you two left. During the drive home, you could feel Enji was starting to relax, finally getting his emotions off his chest.
“Thank you, (Y/N), for everything.”
“I would do anything for you, Enji. I just want you to be happy.”
“After everything you have done for me, I wanted to thank you in a special way.” He gives you a look that you haven’t seen before, a smirk with half closed eyes.
“Well, what is it…. ohhh…. are you sure? You have never done that with a man before.”
“I would do anything for you, (Y/N).”
“Using my words against me, but I’ll take it. Can we at least get a snack first? I’m hungry.”
“You’re always hungry!”
“Well, when you have a demon inside of you that you need to feed, tell me how you feel.”
“You talk about me like I’m a baby inside of you.”
All of you laugh as you drive off. You can’t wait for tonight.

"Listen up, everyone. I want to go over the plan one more time. Everyone at this party is rich, so there's a lot to gain. I don't want to mess this up," Nami says. She looks in the rear view mirror at her friends in the back of the car to make sure they're paying attention. A sharp glare towards Usopp and Luffy, who are busy shoving at each other's faces, makes them both freeze up and direct their gazes toward her. Satisfied, she looks back at the road in front, "I'll be doing all the robbing. I've been posing as a maid here over the past week, so no one will suspect me moving around. Even so, these are nobles, they’ve always been paranoid, so all of you need to be my distraction so no one notices what I'm doing. I want this to work, okay?" Nami glances in the rear view mirror again, then taps the fox-themed mask on her face, "Remember not to remove your masks once we enter. This is a masquerade, and the police have been plastering our faces on every news channel for weeks. Stick to your characters, too, and try not to call each other by name. You all remember your characters?"
"Nami, I wanna wear the hero mask," Luffy complains loudly, ignoring her, "why does Usopp get it? Let me!"
"Your mask is fine, Luffy. I picked it out, special." Nami says, "Usopp's mask has a big hole in it for his nose, anyway. You don't want it."
"And a dragon is cool!" Usopp grabs Luffy's draconic mask by the corners, then snaps it against his face. The little red scales decorating the mask shine in the light of streetlamps that pass by their cars as he does, the design of it poking into his cheeks a bit. Its angular shape to match the shape of a dragon’s face doesn’t necessarily feel nice against his skin, especially not when snapped back on. Luffy shoves at Usopp’s hands, ready to start something in defiance.
"Okay, roles," Nami repeats loudly, stopping that before it started. Snapping her fingers, She continues, "This is a huge job for us! I don't want to fuck it up and I've already got Vivi covering for us back at home. So, I'm a maid, and Robin is..."
"A detective," Robin finishes smoothly, sitting in the back of the large van. It's the only thing that can somewhat fit their group, "A private one; to be specific. That's just if anyone asks."
"I'm a construction worker," Franky says, though it's unlikely anyone will ask him, as he won't be in the ballroom. In the seat next to him, Chopper speaks up.
"I'm a doctor! Or at least, learning to be one," Chopper says, “Which...isn’t that far off from the truth.”
"I'm a... what am I again?" Usopp blinks, confused, "besides a totally badass hero?"
"I'm a cook," Sanji interjects, "But that's not any different. Tonight I shall woo all the ladies of the party as a distraction for my lovely Nami!"
He grins, squished in the seat with Usopp and Luffy. Zoro in the front passenger seat spares Nami a glance, to which she just shrugs.
"Brook's working as a musician, so he's already at the party," Nami explains. The mansion, large and impressive even in the dark, comes into view. Nami pulls up a long driveway, and after she parks she turns to face Zoro and Luffy, "Luffy and Zoro, you two need to be ready to cover our retreat in case things go south so we can get out alright. Don't break character."
"What's our character again?" Luffy says, messing with his mask. He and Nami are the only ones already wearing theirs, as most everyone else had left theirs off in their laps for the ride over.
"Newlyweds," Zoro answers, staring at the fake ring on his finger, "Me and you are newlyweds, Luffy."
"Oh, right," Luffy says, looking at his own ring. The diamonds are plastic, Nami didn't want to spend much on their disguises. Hopefully no one will look to hard at them.
"Zoro, Luffy, don't leave each other's sides. You need to stick together in case something happens," Nami says, "Zoro, you also need to make sure Luffy doesn't cause any trouble that would jeopardize the plan. And be convincing! You're supposed to be soulmates, act like you love each other!"
Zoro frowns. Goddamn Nami, setting them to this role as to 'push things along.' How could this push anything along? Sure, he's got something bad for Luffy, but he doesn't need help and he doesn't need it like this!
"I'm gonna stick to the food bar," Luffy grins, unaware of Zoro's thoughts, "That'll be easy, right?"
"We're just there to mill around while Nami steals shit," Zoro shrugs, twisting the ring absently. How the hell is he supposed to make this convincing?
"Yeah, so don't mess it up. If Luffy sticks to the food bar, you'd better stick to him. Just enjoy the party, you two," Nami says, "The rest of you know the distraction plan already, so if there aren't any more questions, we can head inside. If this works out, we're going to be rich!"
They pile out of the car, filtering inside. Zoro puts on his mask, waiting for Luffy to come to him. Since he has to be married to Luffy for the night, he may as well walk in with Luffy.
Everyone at the party is dressed to the nines, and the crew is no exception. The party is a fantasy-themed masquerade, hosted by and for elites. The wealthy and the noble fill the ballroom, as do their security guards. This makes it an operation of high risk and, if successful, high reward.
"So me and Zoro are married," Luffy says as they approach the front door, "That's kinda weird!"
"I don't know where she comes up with this stuff," Zoro says as he holds out his arm for Luffy to take, "If we're going to be married, you should hold onto me. Couples hold hands and shit, right?"
"Sure!" Luffy grabs onto Zoro's arm, "I dunno, I've never been in a relationship!"
"Of course you have, we're married. You must've dated me at some point," Zoro says, grinning. He leads Luffy into the mansion by the arm.
The ballroom is lit up brightly, decorated heavily. People in fantastical masks mill around, barely paying any attention to those entering. Luffy smiles at the party aspect of it all, but the whole... stuck-up rich person, not-really-a-banquet vibe doesn't really get with him.
Zoro watches Luffy, letting his smiling faux-husband lead him to the food table. Luffy immediately releases Zoro's arm, instead grabbing a plate to start piling it high with food. Zoro continues to watch Luffy as he grabs food upon food to eat. Zoro turns away briefly, awkward. Is this where they starts acting like they're married?
"Slow down, uh... honey. Don't want to grab more than you can eat," Zoro says.
"...Honey?" Luffy snickers, barely holding back full blown laughter.
"We're in love. I'm acting like it," Zoro mutters, grabbing his own plate, "You know, pet names."
"Okay Zoro, Whatever you say," Luffy continues to huff a bit of laughter under his breath as he grabs more food.
"If you dislike the pet names, I'll drop them," Zoro says.
"Hmm..." Luffy hums, shoving an appetizer into his mouth, "Nah, we're married. So it's ok," He grins.
"Alright, but if you're going to laugh every time, I’m stopping," Zoro says. It isn't much of a threat, though, as Luffy seems indifferent to them and they just embarrass Zoro.
"I won't!" Luffy takes his plate and stands against the wall, Zoro following, "How long is Nami gonna take?"
"I don't know. Probably a while," Zoro says, "We'll probably be here a few hours, so just relax."
"Boring," Luffy pokes at his food, looking at Zoro now. "Zoro's got a cool mask, but I'm cooler. I'm a dragon."
"What, demons aren't cool?" Zoro asks, "Demons are way cooler. If a demon and a dragon fought, I bet the demon would win."
"Nah, dragons are cooler and much stronger, so there’s no way they’d lose," Luffy taps on his mask, feeling the fake scales, "I'm a dragon."
"You sure are," Zoro says, reaching up a bit to rest an arm on top of Luffy’s head, "Smallest dragon I've ever seen. Aren’t they supposed to tower over their enemies?”
"Dragons bite," Luffy warns, "Zoro's demon mask is pretty nice, though. He's got horns."
Zoro grins, turning his head to show off. The horns are long and black, and though they're heavy, they're impressive enough that it's worth it.
"Pretty damn cool, right?" Zoro asks. Luffy reaches up, tugging on the horn.
"Nami said I couldn't have anything like these, I'd break 'em," Luffy says.
"You do break a lot of stuff," Zoro says.
"It's fine." Luffy dumps the food into his mouth, going back for more. Zoro watches Luffy go from the wall, awaiting his return. He’s not sure if Luffy feels this, but conversation with him feels so much more awkward now that they’re pretending to be a couple. Conversations used to move so smoothly with Luffy, but now everything he’s saying feels… forced. Zoro picks at his suit jacket, wondering if pretending to date will hurt their relationship more than it helps.
The lapse of silence that follows as Luffy eats and Zoro struggles to find a topic to talk about is interrupted by a very triumphant tone cutting into all other conversations, stopping nobles dancing and people mingling alike.
"I'm a world-renowned sharpshooter! So famous, they call me the King of Snipers!" Usopp says to the pink-haired man listening to him, loud enough to draw the attention of a few other attendants than just the one he's speaking to, "I could shoot a mouse's eye a hundred yards away! I could do it with my eyes closed, even! You'll never meet a sniper half as skilled as me!"
Usopp makes grand gestures as he speaks, keeping the attention of the small crowd he'd gathered with his words, spinning fantastical stories to impress his listeners. Whether or not they believe him, though, is a different matter entirely.
"Really?! A mouse's eye?!" Chopper exclaims, easily amused and happy to listen to Usopp's tales.
"Of course!" Usopp slams a fist on his chest with confidence, "Hell, I could kill it with a knife, fired straight from my slingshot!"
"That's amazing!" Chopper cries, believing every word. Usopp seems to soak up the attention he gets for his story, though it's hard to tell given that his mask covers his whole face. He continues entertaining those who are close enough to hear in stories of his past feats, all heavily exaggerated.
Luffy stands next to Zoro, eating absently as they watch the crowds mingle and move. His attention is drawn back to the present as Zoro notices a girl eying him from across the room. She wears a heavily decorated mask and a very large blue dress which shimmers in the light. Soon she’s striding forth, coming across the way to talk.
"Hello," She curtsies upon walking up to him, smiling. "Are you enjoying the party?"
It's clear she's only talking to Zoro.
"I'm having fun," Zoro says, nodding. She's probably around his age, and by her jewelry, definitely rich. With her obvious money and elaborate dress, she may as well be royalty. Zoro stares at her a moment, recognizing her to be Shalulia. She's the daughter of Roswald, an incredibly rich nobleman and the host of the party.
"It's quite the night, isn't it?” Shalulia says, looking around, "Your mask is very... intricate."
Luffy pauses from his motions of shoving food into his face next to Zoro, staring at Shalulia.
"One hell of a mask for one hell of a party," Zoro says, "But yours is just as intricate as mine."
"Mine, too," Luffy butts in, getting closer to Zoro. He gets a bad feeling from this girl. Shalulia barely regards Luffy, a passing glance before focusing on Zoro again.
"Can you guess what I am?" She asks, spinning around, "I had this custom made, you see. The mask, too!"
"You're a princess, right?" Zoro asks. He's pretty sure she's flirting with him, and he's not all that interested. He looks to Luffy, quickly taking Luffy's hand as he looks at Luffy's face, "What do you think, love?"
The pet names still feel alien in Zoro's mouth, but he wants to get his point across.
"I think she looks dumb," Luffy mutters, stepping closer to Zoro.
"I... sorry, what?" She looks at their linked hands. "Love?"
"Love," Zoro says. He brings their linked hands up, "This is my... husband."
"I'm the husband," Luffy says quickly, staring at her.
"Oh... you're..." Shalulia seems to flounder, pulling at her dress a bit, "You're married?"
"Yes, happily married," Zoro says, still watching Luffy. He lets go of Luffy's hand and hesitantly pulls Luffy close to himself, "Very happy, very married. Right, dear?"
The stiffness and awkwardness that Zoro had felt before is back again, but this time amplified everytime he drops a pet name.
"M...married. Yeah," Luffy nods, lips pursing in that way they do when he's lying.
"Oh." Shalulia looks disappointed, "That's, uh... how long?"
"Not long. We're on our honeymoon. Right, honey?" Zoro says.
"Yeah," Luffy responds, squeezing Zoro's hand. Zoro looks a bit surprised, looking at their hands.
"Uh... you’re sure?" Shalulia asks, a little suspicious, catching onto the way Zoro’s looked at their hands then to his ‘husband’s’ face, as if he wasn’t expecting that.
"We're... still getting used to it. The wedding was so... amazing, it's hard to believe it was real," Zoro explains, poorly. Stirring up this story was harder than once thought...
"Was really big," Luffy says quickly, "Uh, we...had...a lot of food there! And--and...a big party!"
She doesn't seem convinced.
"May I see your ring?" She asks, looking at Zoro.
"Sure," Zoro nods, holding his hand out. Zoro has a wedding band, while Luffy got the engagement ring and wedding band combo.
"This seems fake," she says, "Is it... plastic?"
"Uh, well... we kinda had to go cheap," Zoro says, "blew a shit ton on setup."
"Right..." Shalulia says, "How long have you two been together?"
"Two years," Zoro says. It's how long he's known Luffy for. He looks down at his pretend partner and tells Shalulia the first true thing he's said all night, "I've loved him since the day we met."
"Two years?" She questions, "And you just got married? Pretty fast, if you ask me."
"Neither of us asked you." Luffy turns his head toward her, the blank stare he gives her almost threatening. She falters, moving back a bit out of instinct.
"I didn't-- I've just never heard of anyone marrying after only two years," she says.
"I love him a lot, so we got married," Luffy says.
"I..." Shalulia plays with her hair more, floundering, "You're very lucky, then."
Luffy looks up at Zoro.
"With him by my side, I'm the luckiest on earth," Luffy says. Zoro's surprised by the sincerity. When did Luffy learn to lie? He sounds like he means it, and Zoro would like to think he does... Zoro gets the gut wrenching urge to push the mask up off Luffy's face and kiss him, just to see how he'd react. His hair pushed back from the mask being moved, his lips slightly open from surprise... Zoro cuts off the thoughts. As if he'd be able to do that. He focuses back on the matter, Luffy can lie and get away with it.
"I'm the luckiest," Zoro says quietly, "...Anyway, yeah. This is my husband."
"Right. Your husband," Shalulia says. She looks Luffy up and down, then looks back to Zoro, "Guess you would say no if I asked you to dance?"
"I'd say no," Zoro agrees, "A honeymoon is celebrated with the one you married, after all."
"Right. Of course," She says, "Well, this was... fun, but I think we're done here."
Shalulia walks off, deciding to find someone else to talk to.
Sanji peruses the party calmly, searching the ground. He's got a huge grin on his face, waiting to see a beautiful lady to talk to. He sees a girl walking away from Zoro and Luffy, in a huff.
"Mademoiselle!" Sanji calls, practically twirling toward her, "I was frozen by your beauty, o beautiful princess. May we dance?"
"Dance?" Shalulia asks. She looks Sanji over. He's not the same kind of handsome as that last man, but he hasn't got a ring and his princely mask is certainly more appealing... She offers her hand, "Lead the way."
"Wonderful!" Sanji cries, whisking her off to the dance floor, "a beautiful lady such as yourself shouldn't be alone on a night like this. You may call me... Prince."
He would say his real name, but that's the thing with being a wanted criminal, you really shouldn't give that out.
"Prince? Then you may call me Princess," she says. They dance for a little before she speaks again, "You can dance well. Is there any other skills you might want to show me?"
"Ah, I would love to, but I can't here," Sanji smiles, twirling her, "I'm a skilled chef, you see. One of the best, if I may."
"You are? What kind of dish are you best with, then?" she asks. She has to speak up a little, for as they dance they get closer to the band. Brook sits up at front, though he doesn't seem to notice Sanji dancing just in front of him.
"I'm best with seafoods, you see," Sanji explains, "My father trained me when I was young on the best ways to cook. How to cut things, where to do it... it's important to me that my hands are always ready to cook."
"That's very impressive," She says, "If only you could cook for me, I would love to watch those hands at work."
"I-I would love to cook for you!" Sanji looks shocked and excited, the fact that a woman actually is interested in his advances is new and exciting, "I shall impress you with my knife skills and fine cuisine!"
"I look forward to it," She says, grinning.
Zoro watches Shalulia dancing with Sanji a moment, then looks down to Luffy again. Zoro would like to dance with Luffy, and if they're married, they probably should, right? Just imagining holding Luffy close to dance... If Zoro's ever going to dance with Luffy, it'll have to be now.
"Speaking of dancing..." Zoro starts, "We've been standing by this wall for a while. Do you want to dance with me?"
"I can dance!" Luffy says, and it’s in such a burst it’s almost as if he was waiting impatiently the whole entire time for Zoro to ask, pulling Zoro to the floor without any hesitation, "Don't step on my feet, though."
"I'm not going to step on your feet," Zoro says, letting Luffy lead their dancing.
The song is fairly fast, but before Zoro can be thankful they don't have to slow dance, the song fades out. As if Zoro's thoughts summoned it, a far more romantic song begins to play. Zoro looks to the musicians nearby, where he sees Brook grinning at him from under his skeletal mask. Is everyone determined to try to help him and Luffy along?
"I'm going to kill you for this..." Zoro mutters, gaining a look from a few nearby dancers, Luffy included.
"Why's Zoro gonna kill him?" Luffy asks, "We're just dancing."
Luffy doesn't really hide the fact he wants to keep dancing.
"...Right," Zoro says. He continues letting Luffy lead him in silence for a few moments, but the close contact and romantic music have his mind wandering. Luffy was incredibly convincing before with Shalulia, and Zoro wants to know where the ability to do so came from. Zoro soon speaks up, "Hey, Luffy, when did you learn to lie? You even had me fooled for a moment back there with some of the stuff you said, like being the luckiest to have me..."
"I am the luckiest, so it wasn't a lie," Luffy says, squeezing Zoro's hand. "I'm really bad at lying, so I decide to be truthful."
"Oh," Zoro says. His voice is quiet, as the music is soft. Zoro can barely hear the song anymore, though, his focus is on Luffy only, "You know, I wasn't lying about everything, either. I was telling the truth when I said I was the luckiest, too, and... some other stuff."
"I can't tell when Zoro lies," Luffy replies quietly, stopping their swaying for a moment, "What else did Zoro say that was truthful?"
"What else?" Zoro asks. He said he's loved Luffy since they met and he meant it, but should he tell Luffy that?
"Zoro forgot?" Luffy takes his response as confusion, "Then... maybe I can try and show Zoro what I felt when we were talking. Maybe he’ll remember.”
Zoro doesn't know what Luffy means by that, but he nods.
"Show me what you felt," Zoro says.
In the dark of the mansion's basement, Franky opens the door to the fuse box. He uses a light attached to his robotic mask to see, something those upstairs in the ballroom are soon sure to wish they had. The power only needs to be off for a few moments, and hopefully Nami will be able to steal without interference.
Luffy tightens his hold on Zoro, then moves his hands up to Zoro’s cheeks, thumbs under the mask. He slowly pushes it back, onto Zoro’s head, and presses up against Zoro, his hands moving to Zoro’s shoulders. He glances at Zoro’s lips, leaning in, hoping Zoro will get the memo.
Zoro takes a second to realize what's happening, then leans down to reciprocate. Before he can get close enough, the lights suddenly cut. There's a few shouts of shock as those in attendance try to figure out what's happening, and Zoro pulls away from the near-kiss. Suddenly there's a scream, and the music sours with the sudden loss of a violin. It clatters loudly to the ground and Zoro grabs Luffy's waist, pulling him closer, Luffy tightens his hold on Zoro’s shoulder out of shock, twisting the fabric of his suit in his hands. The darkness stretches a moment longer, and when the lights flicker back on, Brook is on the floor. A woman screams, someone in the crowd faints, and the host, Roswald, looks horrified.
“Is he dead!?” He says, “The party is ruined! Get to the bottom of this, someone, right now!”
"Brook!" Luffy yells, shocked, wrenching away from Zoro.
There's blood on his chest, a stab wound in his heart. He was old, sure, so maybe this was bound to happen soon, but nobody wanted it like that!
"S-Stay back!" A pink haired man yells as Luffy rushes toward the body, "Don't touch the body!"
Luffy tries to rush forward anyway but is stopped by Zoro, who grabs him. The pink haired man--the same who Usopp had been talking to earlier--approaches Brook. He's cut off by Chopper, who runs forward.
"I'm a doctor!" Chopper says, "Let me try and help him!"
Chopper kneels down next to the body, checking him over. If it weren't for how serious the situation was, it would almost be laughable to see someone in a reindeer mask kneeling over a bloody body. However, no one finds any comedy in it as he sits up, solemn-faced.
"He's... he's dead." Chopper says, "His pulse is already gone, the wound hit his heart..."
"Let me go!" Luffy is practically wrestling Zoro, "What's wrong with you, Zoro?! Let me go! Who the hell did this?!"
"What're you going to do? You can't help him," Zoro says. He can't let Luffy near Brook and he knows it.
"Who would have done something like this?" Chopper asks.
"Yes, who?" Robin seems to emerge from shadows, smiling, "Clearly this wasn't done alone. The lights went off, and a body appears. Who among us?" She clasps her hands behind her back, and Luffy stares at her, shocked. She looks to the pink haired man, "Well, Mr. Policeman?"
"It's Coby," The pink haired man says, introducing himself, "The weapon was a knife... who could use one? It would have to be someone close..."
"Or someone able to throw one," Chopper offers.
"Let's look at the people nearby, then." Robin says, "Would anyone here have been able to do it?"
"There's the other musicians," Coby says, "They're all close to him."
"Their hands are all full with instruments," Robin says, "They'd have to make an extra hand appear out of thin air to kill him, which isn't something anyone can do."
"Then those on the dance floor," Coby says. "They're close enough to run forward and stab him."
"So up front, our suspects are a hero, a prince, and a princess," Robin says. She doesn't want to accuse Luffy or Zoro, since Zoro is supposed to keep Luffy from getting upset. Luffy could ruin everything, after all, "Would any of them--"
"Wait, there's that demon and dragon couple, too," Coby says, cutting Robin off, "They're just as close as the other three. We can't overlook them."
"Of course, my mistake," Robin says. Fine, then she needs to clear their names before Luffy gets worked up, "As I was saying, would any of them have been able to kill him?"
"The hero could have. He told me earlier, he could throw a knife in the dark accurately. He has the skill to be able to do it," Coby says.
"I didn't mean like this!" Usopp says.
"Could the prince or princess have done it?" Robin asks.
"The prince could have!" Shalulia says, "He broke away from me when it got dark, and he said he was good with a knife!"
"In the kitchen, my dear, not in a murder!" Sanji says, but Shalulia steps further away from him. Luffy finally breaks away from Zoro to run forward, trying to get to Brook again, but is caught around the waist by Robin.
"Let me go!" Luffy scratches at her arm as she pushes him back to Zoro.
"What about the couple?" Coby asks, "Charging at the body is suspicious, are you trying to hide evidence?"
"No! He was my friend!" Luffy says, upset he's even being accused.
"It isn't him. He's not good with knives, anyway," Robin says, "Or with lying."
"But it could be his partner," Shalulia says, "I overheard him when we passed! He threatened the musician when the song changed!"
"And he's good with a sword!" Chopper says, caught up in the excitement of the investigation. Luffy looks back at Zoro, shocked.
"I didn't do it! I was dancing with him the whole time!" Zoro said, pointing to Luffy. "He was holding me. I couldn't have killed anyone without him knowing."
"Zoro didn't." Luffy says slowly, irritated that nobody would let him go back to Brook. "But you two?!" He whirls on Usopp and Sanji, both looking surprised, "What the hell is this?! Who did it?!"
"Come on, Luffy. Let the detectives figure it out." Zoro says, pulling him back a few steps.
Unnoticed by those arguing, a maid in a fox mask makes her way through the crowd, a sheet draped over one arm. She bumps into a few people as she goes, making her way to the front of the ballroom to pass the sheet off to Chopper. He tosses the sheet over Brook, and the maid leaves. With their focuses on the murder, no one in the crowd notices if their pockets are suddenly lighter as she goes by.
"What the hell is your problem?" Luffy whispers harshly, "Brook is dead! Someone killed him--one of our friends! Let me go!"
"Trouble in paradise?" Shalulia sneers, "I still think he killed him!"
"I didn't. You know that," Zoro says, looking at Luffy, "Luffy, do you trust me?"
"Should I?" Luffy seems unsure, holding away from Zoro.
"Please," Zoro says, "Luffy, if you trust me, just sit this one out. Things will be alright, I swear."
"How can I sit this out?!" Luffy demands, shaking his head.
"Luffy, there's nothing you can do. Let those two handle this," Zoro says. He stops holding Luffy so tight and instead cups Luffy's face in his hands. He's become used to casual affection over the course of the night, so it's far more natural. He meets Luffy's eyes, "I'm asking you to trust me. Calm down and wait, things will work out."
Luffy visibly relaxes a fraction of an inch, looking at Brook. Luffy sucks in a breath and tightens his hold on Zoro's shirt, clearly upset. "I'm gonna kill whoever did it."
"I know," Zoro says, nodding. He wraps his arms around Luffy, hoping to ease Luffy's pain. Luffy seems to take comfort in it, turning his face away and into Zoro's chest.
"So the couple didn't do it," Robin says, watching them, "What about you, hero?"
"No, of course not!" Usopp says, "He was my friend! He was both of our friend! Why would we?"
"He's right," Sanji says, "We all know that musician. None of us would kill him!"
"But one of you did." Coby worries at the edge of his jacket, "I'm sorry, but it's true, and this shouldn't just be solved by us."
"What do you mean?" Robin asks, "Who else is supposed to help?"
"The police!" Coby cries, "We shouldn't just be standing here! We should call them right away!"
"That's not necessary," Robin says, "I'm a detective and you're a police officer, we should be able to solve this without help."
"You're not a detective I've ever seen before," Coby says, though her witchy mask does cover most of her face.
"I'm quite private," She explains, "That's why. Come now, let's just solve this." Robin tucks some hair behind her ear, "The couple has an alibi, correct?"
"Like I said," Zoro is keeping Luffy close, "we were holding onto each other the whole time. And with how upset he is? Why the hell would I do it? He was my friend too."
"He was friends with all of you, and still he's dead," Coby says, "That excuse doesn't mean anything, unfortunately."
"He was still holding me," Luffy turns his head, "So it wasn't me or Zoro."
"Zoro? That name's familiar..." Coby says.
"Probably that movie about the swordsman," Zoro says. He really doesn't need to be arrested because Luffy forgot not to say his name in front of a cop, "You have bigger mysteries to solve than where you've heard my name before."
"Right," Coby says slowly, turning to look at the body, "If I can't find something soon, I'm taking you all in for questions. I'm sorry."
Coby starts walking towards Brook, but Robin grabs his arm.
"Aren't we supposed to question them? You don't need to look at the body," She says.
"I need to see if anything on his body will hint at who did it!" Coby insists, "You're the detective!"
"It's faster with a partner," Robin lies easily.
"Inspecting the body will only take a moment and it will make questioning easier," Coby says. Robin lets him go, not wanting to raise suspicion. She watches him lean over Brook, stepping back. Nami better be done, or this was about to be busted if Brook couldn't keep acting dead.
Coby's thankful he wore gloves with his suit, it'll allow him to inspect the murder weapon without leaving finger prints. He pulls back the sheet, then reaches down to pull the knife from the musician's chest when a hand stops him. It's the musician. Coby doesn't have time to scream before the back-from-the-dead man starts laughing at him.
"Brook..." Sanji sighs, frowning. There goes the plan.
"I'm sorry!" Brook laughs, clutching his stomach, "it--it was just so WORTH it!"
"What's going on!?" Coby cries, wrenching his hand away from Brook. He steps back as Brook sits up. Off to the side, Luffy beams. Brook's alright, but why was he playing dead?
"Shit," Zoro groans, leaning his forehead on Luffy's head as he processed the pure stupidity of his crew, "Brook, you idiot! You better hope Nami is done!"
Brook stands, dusting himself off.
"No one answered me, what just happened!?" Coby says.
"I think we're done here," Robin says, ignoring Coby entirely.
"Brook's alive!" Luffy says, trying to look up at Zoro, which is hard considering Zoro still has his head on top of Luffy's.
"He's ruined the plan, that's what he did," Sanji sighs, pushing the mask up his face.
"The 'plan'? You planned this? Was everyone in on this?" Coby says.
"Unfortunately," Sanji says, and Usopp tosses his mask off, "We all are. It's the distraction."
"Wait a minute..." Coby looks to Zoro, "Z-Zoro? Roronoa Zoro?"
"Yes, Roronoa Zoro," Zoro says, "Hope Franky's ready, because we have to go."
"It's that group of thieves!" Roswald yells, pointing, "Somebody get them! Don't let them escape this party!”
"Hey!" Nami yells from an upper balcony in the ballroom, waving her hands, "We're outside! Get going!"
"That's our cue," Zoro says, and without further prompting, the group makes a break for the door. Most of the guests, the nobles and the rich, are too busy checking to see if they still have their valuables in the presence of thieves to stop their escape. The mass of wealthy people in the room stops security from being able to reach the group, and no one wants to be plowed over by Luffy or his friends.
Franky has the car open, valuables piled in the various spaces on the floor. Luffy dives in first with Zoro after him, pulling him in close for protecting. Luffy thinks it's for protection, anyway.
The rest of the group squeezes in as well, though it's more cramped with the ninth member. Nami sits in the driver seat and Robin takes the passenger seat to avoid being squished.
Zoro sits in a seat and holds Luffy in his lap. He tells himself he's making room for Brook, and in the scramble no one seems to notice. Luffy wraps his arms around Zoro, pulling his knees in to accommodate for Brook's longer limbs.
"Brook, why'd you die?" Luffy asks as he snags Zoro's forgotten mask and starts messing with it.
"They were making a scene so I could rob the place without interruption," Nami says as she starts driving.
"I didn't actually die," Brook says, "I faked it."
"Clearly," Zoro says, "or else we'd be talking to a... I don't know, a fucking skeleton."
Brook laughs.
"Wouldn't that be frightening?" He says. Luffy shakes his head.
"I think it'd be cool!" Luffy says, "I want to be friends with a skeleton!"
"And we didn't tell you this plan because you'd be awful at keeping to it." Usopp says, patting Luffy's head.
"I'll tell you what was frightening, Luffy ready to kill one of us when Brook collapsed." Sanji scoffs.
"I thought it was flattering," Brook says.
"I wasn't scared! I'm sure I could take him if we fought!" Usopp says, "But I wouldn't want to."
"Hurting each other isn't what friends do," Luffy says, "I don't want you guys to die or anything."
"You don't have to worry. None of us are dying anytime soon," Sanji says.
"Brook IS pretty old, though..." Zoro comments.
"I still have plenty of life left in me," Brook says, "It'll take a lot to kill this old man."
"Nami, did we get lots of money?" Luffy asks, putting on Zoro's demon mask.
"Yeah, lots of wallets and jewelry. I'm not sure how much it's all worth, but it's easily thousands," Nami says.
"That's good." Luffy leans back. He didn't really care too much about money, but it was nice to have. He absently pats at Zoro’s wrist, bored.
The car ride passes with idle talk, since they were out fast enough that they weren't chased. They reach their hideout in a few more minutes, an abandoned boat tied to an used dock which they'd taken over. Everyone disperses when they arrive, heading off to get changed out of their fancy getups. It's late, so most of them head to bed shortly after. Despite the calm and quiet in the bedroom neither Luffy nor Zoro can sleep, too much on both their minds. Zoro gets Luffy's attention by waving his hand.
"You wanna go to the front?" Zoro whispers to Luffy, referring to the tip of the boat, where Luffy likes to sit. Luffy nods. He heads up to the front of the ship, letting Zoro follow. When he gets there he stops, waiting for Zoro rather than sitting in his spot on the mast.
In the ballroom, during the dance, Luffy almost kissed Zoro. He'd been so caught up in the moment, he hadn't even got a chance to ask if Zoro was alright with that before everything happened. Zoro stops in front of Luffy, lapsing into an awkward silence. They both search for something to say, but Zoro finds something first.
"You... haven't taken the ring off."
"No, I guess I forgot," Luffy says. He looks down at his hand. In the dark, the ring almost looks real, "I like it."
"You never struck me as a jewelry type," Zoro says, stepping a bit closer so he could grab Luffy's hand.
"This is different," Luffy says. He keeps his eyes on his hand in Zoro's.
"The ring, or...?" Zoro looks at Luffy instead of his hand, "or what I'm doing?"
"The ring, but what Zoro is doing is different, too," Luffy says, "I had fun tonight, pretending to be Zoro's husband."
"Did you?" Zoro grins a bit, "you know, you were trying to show me something, but we got interrupted."
"I was going for a kiss," Luffy admits.
"So, you still want to?" Zoro asks, "Kiss, I mean. We don't have to."
"I want to," Luffy says. He reaches up to hold Zoro's face in his hands, "I really, really want to."
"Then we can." Zoro says quietly, putting a hand on Luffy's lower back and splaying it. He leans down and kisses the corner of Luffy's mouth. Zoro pulls back after, but Luffy hugs his neck to stop him from going far.
"Back when that lady was talking to us, Zoro said something that sounded really sincere. He said he'd loved me since the day we met," Luffy says, "Did he mean that?"
"...I meant it," Zoro says, "I have. Ever since I saw you."
"I feel the same. I've always felt the same," Luffy says, "Maybe we really are soulmates."
"Maybe." Zoro says, lifting Luffy up. "Maybe we are."
Luffy grins, wrapping his legs around Zoro's waist to hold himself up.
"I would like that," Luffy says. He holds out his hand, looking at his ring over Zoro's shoulder, "I think I'm going to keep wearing this."
"What, a fake plastic ring?" Zoro snorts, "you just kind of jumped right into marriage again."
"I'm not thinking of it like marriage! It's like a souvenir," Luffy says, "Instead of marriage, it's from the night Zoro first said he loved me."
"An anniversary ring," Zoro says, comfortable holding Luffy, "Maybe I'll keep mine, too."
Luffy leans his head on Zoro's shoulder.
"We'd be matching," Luffy says.
"Do you want to match?" Zoro asks, turning his head and kissing Luffy's nose. Luffy laughs.
"I wouldn't mind matching," Luffy says.
"Then I'll keep it," Zoro says, "I need to thank Nami."
“What for?” Luffy asks.
"She told me she made us the couple so this shit could happen," Zoro sighs.
"Guess I should thank her, too," Luffy says.
"Why didn't we act on this sooner?" Zoro asks, humming.
"Well, I know Zoro's pretty dumb," Luffy says.
"I know you're dumber," Zoro says
"Rude," Luffy says, "Zoro's rude and dumb and I'm in love with him."
"Luffy's rude and dumb and I'm in love with him more," Zoro responds, grinning. Luffy pulls his head off Zoro's shoulder so he can look at Zoro's face.
"If Zoro loves me so much, then why not he kiss me again?" Luffy asks. Zoro leans in and kisses Luffy again, repeating his actions over and over to get the point across. Luffy eventually breaks away, and he leans back in Zoro's arms to look up at the sky. The air's clear, and he can see thousands of stars.
"They're bright," Luffy says. He looks down at Zoro, then grins. To Zoro, that's brighter than anything in the sky, day or night. There's no need for sunshine, not with Luffy so close. Zoro has the sea below him, the stars around him, and Luffy in his arms. He doesn't ever need anything else.

Modern AU. Female S/O. No physical descriptions. Everybody is 18+. No spoilers.
TW: NSFW, teasing, public sex.
Word count: 2.4K
A/N: Thank you so much for asking for this request! It’s the first time I write for Marco and I loved the idea! I hope you like it ♥
AO3: https://archiveofourown.org/works/31416047
Anon requested for:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
A busy afternoon in your life, you grab your phone and text your boyfriend, Marco.
14:54. You > Oi babe, are you busy today?.  15.30. Dr.M > Hey darling, I’m having a big surgery in about an hour, I don’t know much is going to take, but whenever I’m out I’ll txt you. Love you!.
Again, your partner, one of the best doctors in town is busy. You don’t blame him, but you haven’t seen him in almost a week, and besides your heart, your skin misses him more than anything. You’ve been dreaming about getting railed by him for the last two days, you know you need him.
“I should get back to work”, you say to yourself, trying to forget how needy for him you are. And the afternoon passes, and there is no text from Marco.
Your coworkers invite you for some drinks after work and you just accept, because deep down you know you aren’t going to meet with your boyfriend tonight either.
After some beers, a notification pops up on your phone screen. “It’s him”, you tell your friend showing her the phone. “I have an idea, don’t just go straight to the point…”, she says to you. “What do you mean?”, you ask confused. “Well, you should tease him little by little, until he gets so needy for you that he has no other choice than leaving everything aside, and fuck you”, she says with an evil grin. You both laugh out loud and enjoy the rest of the evening.
While walking home, what your friend has told you at the bar, begins to replay in your brain. “She might be right, I should make him want me…”, you think while opening the door.
Once inside, you text Marco back just to tell him you got home safe, but he doesn’t answer. He is probably asleep
already. You pass out on your bed thinking the best ways to tease him… photos?, texts?, visiting him?... you set up a plan that wish it works.
06:30 Dr.M > Morning baby. I’m sorry about yesterday. We’ve been very busy lately. I promise I’ll compensate for it.
07:45 You > Good morning, it’s ok. You know… I dreamt about you, about us.
07:48 Dr.M > What did you dream of?
07:49 You > Something I wish I could be doing to you, now... But right now, I’m a little late for work. I’ll text you later. Love you. Mwah.
07:51 Dr.M > I wonder what it is… have a nice day at work. Love u.
You are determined to slowly rise up the heat, from day to night, but subtly. “That will do”, you think, and let your phone aside, sure that letting Marco on read could make a difference.
Your day at work got super busy, so you barely had time to grab your phone. You wonder sometimes about your beloved, but your attention is instantly drawn to your tasks. At lunch you have a little more time and take your phone, Marco has sent you a text asking if you have already eaten. This is a good chance for you to tease him, so you decide to follow the next stage of your plan. Today, you’ve chosen to wear a pencil skirt that allows the skin of your thighs to show, so you take a photo of your lunch over your legs. You were just commenting about the food, but there is no way he wouldn’t get to see one of his favourite parts of your body.
07:51 Dr.M > Yummy! Enjoy your meal, babe. By the way, love that skirt.
“Good, he noticed the skirt”, you think to yourself while eating the little sandwich and think about what’s next.
The working day is coming to an end, and you get a phone call from your boyfriend. He tells you that this weekend the hospital would have a charity banquet, and if you want to come with him. Of course, you accept immediately, not only because you want to be with him, but also because you just love parties.
After leaving work, you head directly to a dress shop, and as you try the perfect one for the party, you know this is an opportunity for teasing him you won’t let pass.  You pick the sexiest red dress in the store, and head to the dresser.
The dress shows your back perfectly until the start of your bottom. Little straps hold a cowl neckline and it also has a deep slit on the left side of the skirt, so you can show your leg.
Posing on the mirror of the dresser, showing your back, and leg you snap a picture and send it to him. Luckily he answers right away.
18:02 You > What do you think babe? I like this dress for the banquet.
18:03 Dr.M > Damn… I love it. You look like a goddess, you know?.
You couldn’t be happier about his reaction, so you buy the dress and head home.
After taking a shower, and still covered with only a towel you video call Marco. This is just another step of the plan, and somehow you just love it. He is still at the hospital, but you don’t care. You want him to wish he wasn’t there.
Your lover picks up and after realizing you were practically naked, stunned, he covers the screen with his big skilled hands. “Babe, I’m alone at my office but… are you naked?”, he says a little bit agitated. “I am, but a towel is covering me. I just miss you, wanted to see your pretty face after a hot shower”, you say pouting with a suggestive tone. “I - I miss you too, babe…”, he says while he seems to worship the image of you on his phone screen. “I wish you were here…” you confess to him while rolling your eyes back. “I wish I was there too, baby… aren’t you cold?”, he says now and you can sense how his voice becomes a little bit cracked. You recognize this is an amazing opportunity to keep up with your plan, so you say, “I am, yes. Give me a sec, I’m going to put my robe on”.
You stood up from bed, put your phone over your dresser so Marco could still see you and let your towel fall to the floor, leaving your body completely exposed to him. “Babe…” he gasps, and you just giggle.
You watch how he pushes himself far from the desk, laying his back over the chair backrest, letting you admire his torso, and of course, his crotch. A bulge is shown in his scrubs pants, and he slowly slides a hand there.
“Dr Marco, it’s an emergency, they need you in trauma”, a voice resonates in his office, and he quickly lifts his hands, covering the screen and camera from his phone. “Oh, yeah I’ll be right there”, he says, trying to hide the arousal he was experiencing.
Annoyed, but not mad at him, throw your robe on and wait for him to come back to the call. “I’m sorry babe, I’m really sorry”, he says, mortified. “It’s ok doc, we can continue later. See you tomorrow, love you”, you tell him, a little bit sad, but still showing how much you want him.
After dinner, you go to bed, replaying the memories of his sweet anatomy and how you wished you'd seen him jacking off to your body at the office. Yet, you know tomorrow is the big party, and you have better plans than just making him touch himself over the phone.
Another busy day of work passes and you are finally at home getting ready for the big event. You know how much he likes when you use that specific perfume with citric hints of orange and a little bit of pineapple, so you spray it all over you. The red dress you bought yesterday flows sexy over your skin, and you are ready to make tonight, a night of a lifetime.
Marco is waiting for you outside in his car, you make him wait just for a few minutes. He knows you will be using that dress, and he wants to see you wearing it right now, but you want him to crave for it, so you just text him with a “Give me a sec”.
When you finally open the door, you let your keys fall to the ground. In order to pick them up, you first make sure he is watching and then bend down, lifting your dress subtly from the slit of the skirt.
Acting as if nothing happened, you hop in his car, and kiss his cheek. “Hello doc, I missed you”. You see how Marco watches you from top to bottom, slightly stopping at the slit on the skirt, admiring how your thigh spreads a little once you are sitting.
After allowing Marco to enjoy for some seconds your skin, you step up, and cross your legs. A fire on his sleepy eyes ignites, and somehow you just adore to make him heat up.
But your blond hot doctor is not the only one who is getting hot in there, you certainly are too. He looks so perfect, formally dressed with a black suit. You wished he’d stop driving, and take you right there, in the middle of the street. You just don’t care. But you wait…
When you finally arrive at the charity event, everybody turns their head to admire the young successful doctor Marco and his perfect girlfriend. Some wishing they were Marco, others, you. But everybody is amazed by how powerful and pretty you both are.
You are greeted by Marco's colleagues and are invited to sit on your corresponding table. They serve you gourmet plates made by a famous chef called Vinsmoke Sanji.
A show starts, a magician makes entertaining tricks on the scenery, and everybody including Marco is enjoying the show. You suddenly had the idea of teasing your boyfriend a little bit more, so you subtly slide a hand over his lap, caressing it faintly. You notice how his muscles react instantly to the soft touch of your hand over his black trousers. He looks at you, but you don’t look back at him, you simply keep enjoying the magic show.
He then places his hand over yours, and slowly interlocks fingers. He makes your hand move up, closer to his groin. You can feel how hard he is with the side of your hand. Deep down you wished to touch him, but you want him to burn in desire, so you slowly lift your hand up, and grab your cup of red wine. He sighs soundly. “I’m going to tease until it hurts how much you want to fuck me, Marco”, you thought with an evil grin on your face.
The show is over, and an auction starts in order to raise funds for charity. Every rich person there starts to push. You just maintain quiet, you are not as rich as them, but Marco on the other hand... He places a bid for some paintings and you just wait.
The auction comes to an end, and the organizers announce that the guest can pass to the dancing saloon if they want. Of course you want, you know there is where the next stage of your plan will take place.
You grab Marco’s hand and walk to the next saloon. Lights are now down low and the music starts to play. You both start slow dancing, your bodies closer to each other, Marco’s hand placed on your back, and the other over your waist. You pass your hands on the back of his neck. You move slowly, sexy, rubbing your stomach against his, while looking up at his eyes with an inviting sight. Getting drunk on the smell of his manly perfume, you remember how much you love and desire his body.
He places a soft kiss over your lips, that you accept gratefully. Your lower stomach feels how a hard bulge is forming once again on Marco’s groin, and you just can’t take it anymore, you need him. And he needs you too. But the music stops, and now it’s time for dessert, so you both walk back to your seats.
A sweet chocolatey dessert is served. You are delighted, he is too. You grab a piece of cake and devour it from the little spoon, slowly moving it on your mouth while looking straight to his eyes. He gasps, he is suffering. It must be painful to hide, to hold back how much you want to fuck someone surrounded by your colleagues and people in general. His manhood is probably hurting from the pressure the pants are making over it. He needs you; you can see it in his eyes.
You place the silver spoon over your lips for an instance and giggle. Once you finish your cake, you stand up, pass your hand all over his back, from one shoulder to the other, and slowly bend over him to approach his ear. “I need to use the toilet…”, you say to him with an inviting tone.
As you walk to the bathroom you can feel his piercing gaze over your body, and you know he got the message.
You wait for him, and a few minutes after and a quick scan of the place to ensure nobody was watching, he grabs you by your throat and pushes inside of one of the bathroom stalls.
“I can’t take it anymore, I just need to fuck you right here, babe”, he says to you while kissing your neck desperately, pushing your back against the cold marble walls of the toilet.
None of you can wait, no place for foreplay, you want him to penetrate you right now. He slides his hand under your dress by the slit of the skirt discovering you are not wearing any panties. That only makes him even more aroused. He unbuckles his belt, and lets his pants fall to the floor, revealing his big erect member.
You bite your lower lip, grinning. Marco lifts his white shirt, so you can admire his well-defined abs and the tattoo that garnishes his chest with that blue ink. Next you know is him lifting your leg, and penetrating you with a hard thrust, deep inside you. An intense pounding that sends you to heaven, both of your heartbeat accelerating, losing control of your breathing.
You two finally reach climax, and let him impregnate you with all of his warm juices. He groans, “Oh baby girl, you don’t how much I needed you, one of these days you are going to kill me”.
And you smile, because you know that your plan was a success… ♥

Chapter 2. “Law?!...” I said surprised. “Y/n-ya?...” he asked, also surprised, but before I could say anything else, Luffy came running through the aisle and hugged Law, and I came to the conclusion that he was, indeed, Zoro and Luffy’s friend.
Tumblr media
I moved my stuff out of the way, and after he got rid of Luffy, Law helped me to put my backpack on the overhead locker and then sat next to me.
I remained silent for a little bit, waiting perhaps for him to talk, but he didn’t. The flight attendant announced the takeoff was about to happen, so we fasten our seatbelts as the plane started moving. I looked at him out of the corner of my eye, and I could see how he seemed a little bit nervous. I thought it was my imagination, but when the plane gathered a little more speed through the runway, he began to breathe faster.
I couldn’t keep my mouth shut and I had to ask, “Law, are you ok? Are you feeling bad?”. He directed his gaze at me with blushing cheeks, and after a few seconds, he said “Y-Yes. I just tend to get a little nervous during the take off, but I’m… ok”. Poor thing, he was trying to cover his heavy breathing… “Don’t worry, it's completely normal, would you like me to hold your hand? You can squeeze it as much as you can”, I said kindly, keeping my cool just for him to see how it wasn’t a big deal, and nothing to get embarrassed of. I placed my hand, palm up, over the armrest that separated our seats and waited for him to hold it. He doubted a little bit, but he finally did it, first softly, still ashamed, but then firmly. “Don’t worry, it’ll be over soon, try to focus on your breathing”, I guided him, with a calm speech, and looking directly into his deep grey eyes, smiling kindly. He slowly calmed his respiratory frequency, and a few minutes after the plane was already flying at cruise level, he sweetly let go of my hand. Our palms were a little sweaty, but I couldn’t care less.
“T-Th- Thanks…” He said, looking at the floor. “Don’t worry, you saved me three times the other day, now I owe you only two” I said, winking an eye at him. Law smiled a little, but kept looking at the floor. I was about to point out the fact that he was Zoro’s friend when Nami peaked through our seat backs saying “Oi Torao, you finally decided to come with us!! You normally don’t go anywhere, I’m glad you separated from your books for good!... Oh, and you two must know each other, right Y/n?” she said pointing at us, “Both of you study at the same U and are becoming doctors soon”. Vivi who was next to Nami began to giggle covering his mouth. Suddenly I realized that both of my friends already knew who Law was, and began to suspect that for some reason they wanted to perhaps pair us up.
“I know him from other circumstances”, I said smirking at them, but with an underhand expression of “I’m gonna kill both of you for not telling me”. Law smiled at them, but didn’t say much, and the girls returned to their seats.
“So, your surname must be Trafalgar, right? I thought you were a Donquixote…”, I asked him. “Yeah, is a long story…”, he said with no emotion at all, and I realized it wasn’t a good topic, so I changed the curse of the conversation. “Oh, you were the one who was complemented by Dr. Marco? You are amazing, doc!”.
“Uhum, but I’m not that good. Dr. Phoenix is just an amazing teacher”, he replied. “Indeed, he is”, I said. The small talk came to an end when the flight attendant offered us something to drink. I opted for a glass of plain water, and so did Law. He then grabbed a manga from his little bag, and began to read. “Maybe he doesn’t wanna talk to me…” I thought, put my air pods on and turned on the music. Some minutes after I regretted not having any sleep last night, as my eyes were trying to close...
The voice of the captain announced over the speakers that we will be arriving on Jeju Island in a few minutes. I was being lazy to open my eyes, as I felt extremely comfy sleeping in that position… until I realized I had my head - and almost the right side of my body - over Law’s shoulder. “Oh my… I’m sorry!” I said gaining composure and sitting properly on my spot. Law gave me a smile with kind eyes, and said “Don’t worry, I was asleep too, I used your head as a pillow, I didn’t want to wake you up, though”. Behind us a few laughs from the girls were heard, and I asked, confused, “You… what?. But the landing was already happening and the cabin crew asked us to prepare, so I decided to shut my mouth. I gazed at Law to see if he needed any help with the landing, but he didn’t seem as scared as he was with the taking off.
We all descended the plane, waited for our luggage and headed to the car rental picking point. I’ve booked three cars, so we distributed perfectly on each one. Franky picked the blue Hyundai Venue. Usopp, Chopper and Brook went with him. Law chose a yellow Hyundai Sonata, of course he would, he looks so cool… Zoro, Sanji, and of course Luffy followed him. I chose the white Tucson, for me and the girls.
We left the airport and drove through the streets of Jeju, admiring the beauty of the cherry blossom trees and the yellow flowers on the side of the road. Law’s car was behind us, and sometimes I spied through the rear mirror, just to see his face fully concentrated on the road.
I asked Nami to put the GPS for me, because our Airbnb was a little bit remote from the center and I was afraid of getting lost. The girls and I sang the whole drive to the songs the radio was playing.
We finally reached the house. It was just as the photos, a white two-story house, big enough for all of us. The beach was next to our patio, the typical style of grey rocks of Jeju Do garnished the entrance and the sound of the waves crashing on the shore with a few seagulls squawking made the whole atmosphere unique.
I gave the entrance code to Robin and she opened the door. Luffy entered first running excited and went directly to the garden to see the beach. We followed him, pretty excited too. Inside, the house had a minimalistic style, everything was white and the floor and furniture was made of light wood.
There were four rooms, so the guys distributed in two of them, Robin and I went to another and we let Nami and Vivi have a room for them. We took turns to use the shower and got ready to explore the island right away.
Sanji suggested that we should go first to Dongmun traditional market to buy fresh ingredients for him to cook for us. He became a professional chef a few years ago and works with his father Zeff, on his well-known restaurant, “The Baratie”. His cooking skills are heavenly, and he loves to cook for us, so we agreed immediately.
We arrived after a 10 minute drive, the market was extremely busy, the food stalls offered a variety of typical korean dishes, kimbap, tteokbokki, tteokgalbi and fresh and canned ingredients, such as typical fishes from the island and the famous kimchi.
Luffy, as always, drove by the smell of the delicious food, ran desperately inside and tasted every single sample the sellers offered to him. Nami, Vivi and I, decided to try the famed tangerines of the island. Nami, who is an expert on tangerines, would give us the final verdict on if they are good as people say. The juicy mandarin slices we tried were exquisite, the sweetness mixed with a little bit of tartness made us want to buy bags of them.
I saw Law approaching us, he had separated from Zoro’s group who were trying the variety of Sojus. I called him with a big smile and some tangerine slices on my hands, “Law!! Come here, you should try this!”. He came closer also with a little grin. I stood on tiptoes and said, “Open your mouth!” and without any shame I offered him a big juicy slice of mandarin. He opened his mouth surprised, but accepted the fruit and while taking it, his lips softly touched the point of my fingers. It felt almost as if he was kissing them, or for a moment I wished it was the case… A little drop of juice ran from his mouth through the commissure of his lips, so I immediately rubbed my thumb over it to clean it. He fixed his eyes on mine, and for a few seconds it seemed as if the rest of the world stopped existing around us. He swallowed up the fruit and thanked me still without taking his gaze off me. The moment broke when the old lady at the tangerine selling stall asked us if we wanted a box or a bag for the fruits. I turned to her, and saw Nami and Vivi looking at the lady wanting her to shut her mouth. My cheeks thanked the interruption, though, because they couldn’t get any more flushed.
“A box would be great, thanks!” I told the seller. Law carried the box himself, and we reunited with the rest of the group.
Sanji had already gathered everything he needed, Zoro had bought his alcohol provision for the next few days, Luffy had his face completely stuffed with some meat, Franky had a cola on his hands, Brook a milkshake, Robin a bag of tangerine tea, Chopper of course some candy cotton on both of his hands and Usopp was eating some type of ramyon. We left the market and headed to our temporary house to leave the provisions and decide the plans for the afternoon and night.
“I want to go to Bomnal Cafe, I heard they serve delicious pastries! Can we go there?” suggested Chopper. “We can go there for the afternoon, and then have a picnic with a bonfire at the beach for the night. What do you think, guys?”, I proposed. “BONFIRE! BONFIRE! Sanji, you could also make some barbecue!!” screamed Luffy, excited, and everyone agreed that it would be a great idea.
Some of us headed to the coffee shop, while Sanji, Zoro, Law, Usopp and Franky stayed at home to prepare everything for the night.
The little coffee shop had a minimalistic, all white and grey, and maybe a little vintage atmosphere. We ordered a few pastries, puddings and lattes that tasted exquisite. We sat by a big window that let us admire the beauty of a little garden with cherry trees and a little pond with some fishies swimming peacefully. We were making stories for Instagram, taking photos, having fun. “Oi, Y/n, pose for me!” said Nami and took a photo of me with her iPhone. I didn’t have time to pose properly, so it was a pretty casual photo of me drinking a matcha latte. Brook insisted on me posting it, because he said it was cute. Chopper and the girls agreed with him, so I uploaded it to my Instagram.
Suddenly, a new notification popped up on my screen, “@DrHeartSteeler liked and commented on your photo”. “Hey guys, do you know who is @DrHeart…” I was asking them while opening the notification and realized it was no other than Law. “@DrHeartSteeler > Beautiful… place. Can you bring me one of those when you come back home?”. I hadn’t had the chance to say anything else when my friends began to make a fuss about the comment. “WHEN YOU COME BACK HOME?, Torao what the fuck?” said Nami laughing out loud. Chopper who was a little innocent, started asking why everyone was laughing, and it only fanned up the flames that were blushing my cheeks. “Yohoho… I guess you have to bring him “home” a matcha latte, Y/n, he probably misses you already…” mocked me Brook. Robin, who is the most mature of all of us, simply laughed and looked at me with kind eyes.
“Stop it guys, he is just asking for a latte…” I said, fanning my face with my hand. “Oh, yes, of course. He wasn’t even following your account. Before we left home, he asked Vivi for your user, right babe?…” said Nami and Vivi nodded with her mouth full of chocolate cake. I didn’t want to show the excitement I was feeling on my insides, so I simply replied that he probably wanted to follow me because he was already following everybody in the group. We decided to come back before the sun set, so we could see it on the beach and after buying Law his tea, and some pastries for the guys we left the pretty tea room and drove home.
“Guys, we are home! we brought you some pastries!!” I said, while carrying the papers bags, and Law’s latte on the other hand. Everyone came running to me and grabbed the bags, while Law, who was sitting on the couch reading, looked at me above his manga, as if he was waiting for me to say something. I tried to act cool, so I said “And oh, uhm, Law your matcha Latte. I hope it’s the right size for you”. He smiled at me, left the book on the armchair and stood up. He walked towards me slowly, I didn’t know if he was trying to be sexy or it was just how he was… Because he certainly was, only using black with yellow spots, swim shorts and a yellow open shirt, that let me admire his tattooed chest and abs.
“Thanks, Y/n-ya. When I saw your picture, I craved for…” he made a little pause, and continued while grabbing the plastic cup, “some matcha latte”. Well, now I crave... you… I thought. I gave him a look from head to toe, and said smirking “It’s nothing, now I only owe you only one favor, so, you tell me if you need something more”. “Mh... I’ll keep it in mind”, he said with his low sexy voice and a little side smirk. I smiled at him and went upstairs.
I threw myself on the bed and sighed loudly. My heart was racing, my lower parts were feeling funny and the sexual tension I’ve just experienced was too much to handle for me. “How hot he is, damn it”, I expressed out loud covering my eyes. “Who is hot, Y/n?” asked Zoro, who apparently was entering my bedroom to ask me something. I almost had a heart attack, but calmed myself down and asked him what he needed. He told me that we were getting ready to go to the beach to prepare the picnic and watch the sunset and if I could bring some blankets. I told him ok and he left my room laughing.
“I came here to rest, and I’m getting more stressed than during finals”, I thought, annoyed, while gathering for a few blankets and pillows to bring to the beach. I headed downstairs. Everybody has already left the house and I could see them walking towards the beach from our patio. I was about to leave and closed the door trying not to throw the blankets I had in my hand, when someone scared the hell out of me. “Oi, you almost let me locked in..., let me help you with that”, said Law who was still inside. “God… Law, you scared me… what are you doing? I thought I was alone…”. “Sanji forgot the salt shaker, I returned to bring it to him”, he calmly answered. “Oh, I see… Well let’s go” I said, still breathing fast from getting scared, and handed him a few blankets to help me carry them.
The chilly sea breeze kissed our cheeks, and the sound of the beach began to fill my ears. I was wearing a long silky dress that danced with the wind, as well as my hair. The sun was going down, everything was golden. Oranges, violets, reds, were the colours that tinted the clouds above the sea. Law was walking right by my side, and both were admiring the beauty of the evening lights that bathed the cliffs. I decided to stop, and take a picture with my analog camera, and as I did, Law kept walking a few steps more until he realized I had stopped. He turned around and looked at me, just when I pressed the shutter. “I’m sorry, I… didn’t know…” Law excused himself for appearing in the photo, but I wasn’t mad at all. I gave him a smile and told him, “It’s ok, you are part of the trip, I’ll give you a copy when I develop the film if you want”. “Thanks…”, he said, and we kept on walking admiring the beauty of the sun setting.
We finally arrived at where everybody else was. Law gave the salt to Sanji and helped him with the barbecue. I started to set up the blankets with the girls and told Brook to play some music with his guitar. The boys had already put up the bonfire and some torchlights that lit up our night.
The night was lovely, it was a little cold, but a few beers after I was dancing with the girls barefoot on the sand to “A lovely night” from the movie Lalaland. Suddenly, Robin said to me “Hey, Y/n… it seems that Torao-kun can’t take his eyes off from you tonight”. “Huh?” I told Robin, confused. She pointed to where the boys were cooking and I turned my face to them. Law was indeed looking at me, with a beer in his hand. I smiled gazing at him over my shoulder, and he did too. I turned back at the girls and kept on dancing covering my mouth, giggling a little. Vivi, Nami and Robin also giggled and gave me a complicit smile.
“Dinner is ready, everybody! “announced Sanji and we gathered all around the grill to receive the plates that surprisingly Zoro helped Sanji to serve. I guess alcohol and food made them somehow get along, at least for a few hours. I wonder when they are going to stop the fighting and begin the kissing… fufufu…
The brochettes were heavenly, we ate them sitting around the bonfire while singing “Binks no Sake”, one of Brooks classics. He is the musician of the group, and even started his professional career a few years ago as “Soul King”. He is such a talented guy.
As the night passed Law and I sometimes interlocked eyes, or exchanged little smiles. I took some more photos during the picnic and we kept on dancing until 3 am, when we decided to raise camps and head to our beds.
I was exhausted, yet, the idea of stalking Law on Instagram was on my head and didn’t let me sleep. I covered myself completely with the sheets and searched for his user on my phone. He has no more than 5 photos posted. One of them was with Luffy and Zoro, after training, another one of him and Rosinante -he called him “Cora-san” on the image caption, how cute - when he was a little boy. The rest of the photos were with some friends dressed up as pirates for Halloween and in the comment section they called themselves the “Heart pirates”, ha-ha funny.
I suspired whenever I zoomed the photos over his eyes. I was starting to like this man, way too much... I tossed and turned in bed trying to fall asleep, but I simply couldn’t, so I thought drinking some tea would help me. I went downstairs, trying not to wake anybody up and got to the kitchen. From the big glass door that looked at the beach I saw how the moonlight lit up the waves crashing on the cliffs and the whole kitchen. The scenery and the chamomile tea were slowly fading away the image of Law’s eyes, until I felt someone placing a hand over my shoulder. I slightly gazed at it, and it only took me a few seconds to know it was the tattooed hand of the guy who was keeping me awake. He was wearing black shorts, and a loose white shirt. His hair was more disheveled than ever. What is it with this guy that looks so good no matter what he looks?...
“I see I’m not the only one who can’t sleep”, Law whispered. “Yeah, I’m exhausted but somehow I can’t fall asleep… I guess it must be the bed, I don’t know. Do you want some tea?”, I offered him. “Yes, that would be great”, he accepted.
I was turning on the electric kettle when we heard some noises coming from the living room. I looked at Law and both of us peaked through the kitchen entrance to see what was going on…
“Shitty cook… we shouldn’t….”, “What? are you afraid, idiot Marimo?”. Sanji and Zoro seemed a little drunk and were somehow hugging and walking at the same time. At first I thought they were trying to help each other to go upstairs, so I started walking towards them to help. I couldn’t walk any further because immediately Law grabbed me by my waist, and pulled me back into the kitchen covering my mouth. “Shh… just wait”, he whispered into my ear and let go of me. What I saw next was something we’ve all been waiting for. Finally, Zoro and Sanji accepted how much they loved each other, and went upstairs kissing as two teenagers in love.
I opened my mouth and looked at Law with a surprised expression, that soon turned into a happy face. I started making little jumps in my place. “I knew it!!” I said and Law giggled almost without making any sound. With the excitement I didn’t notice how near we were from each other, until Law softly caressed my face with one of his soft hands. He, of course had the hands of a surgeon, long fingers, soft skin, perfectly cut nails. “Why don’t we do the same as them?” he asked me, and I gasped and stood still in front of him. He slowly approached his face to mine until the point of our noses were almost touching. I got lost into his grey eyes, my mouth was ready to receive his lips. The sweet torture of the moments before a first kiss, I wished I could make it last as much as I could, but at the same time, I wanted him to kiss me, passionately, now, right now.
My eyes probably showed how desperately I was for him to kiss me, that he smirked and finally planted his luscious lips against mine. He explored my mouth with his tongue, with no modesty at all, and as we were passionately kissing he lifted me up and sited me over the kitchen counter.
Without stopping the kissing, I open my legs to allow him to come further and as he did, he slid a hand to my sex…
