Okay, had to do this on a separate thing @phoenixcatch7 but-
Tumblr media
DCxDP crossover with the meat marionettes. Itty bitty bird boy Danny perched on top of one of the batclan members like,
youtube
Said Batclan member is also perched on top of their respective alien/magician/demigod, whichever is there.
Also completely unrelated sort of, but can you imagine if Danny's ghost form was something akin to their meat marionette bodies? Like visibly more monstrous looking. Maybe it started out more human looking, maybe it's a mimicking his surroundings sort of thing, maybe this is an AU where ghosts Do Not look human except for when they look in their own reflections. Or something.
Honestly just slowly rotating ideas at increasing speeds lol

also. i think accusations that bruce became less affectionate because there were no more hugs, piggyback rides, etc etc following jason's death sometimes fail to take into account that it's not that bruce got *less* affectionate it's that bruce's way of displaying affection changed in accordance with *what was considered appropriate levels of affection between men* in the 90s.
bc if you honestly look at the way the relationship that develops between bruce + tim from alpod to knightfall it might not have all the hugs outside of when tim's mom died and it's An Appropriate Time for a Man Hug, but it has smiles and banter and jokes. it has bruce worrying over tim and comforting hands on shoulders. it has bruce sending tim's entire boarding school class across the world to japan *just* to keep tim safe from the joker when he returns. it has bruce racing back to the manor at the thought of alfred and tim in danger there. it has cute nicknames and quiet pride. bruce is still falling in love with every woman who's nice to him for 2 seconds. he doesn't actually start being more of a distant asshole to everyone (not just tim) until the knightfall event and the knightfall event + the breaking of the bat was designed to make him grittier and harsher. and even then *as he's being colder* there's still all for one handshake with dick and tim in knightsend. there's still the worry over tim in contagion and legacy. there's the teasing, loving family moments in gotham knights. honestly if you compare it the amount of affection that tim receives from bruce is similar to and pretty much almost at the level of the affection bruce gives to *dick* during this era (probably not quite as much, but it's very similar in *how* bruce shows affection to both and it is similar in scope).
and it makes sense that they toned down the overt physical affection. they always would have. batman and robin still got constant gay jokes in the 90s as people moved further away from socially acceptable affection between man due to the stigma of homosexuality especially in the 90s following the aids crisis. batman's open affection for robin was *always* going to get toned down.
also if you're trying to sell comics to 14 year old boys, as they were, the last thing they were going to put in was a teenage character being treated with affection that seemed babyish to most teenagers back then. also with the popularity of the batman movies, they were also going to pander to the movie fans who wanted things to be more serious. hugs outside of An Appropriate Solemn Moment were NOT going to fly.

I'm very sorry Crow Anon. I did steal our brain cell, I couldn't remember how to clean my clothes and needed big brain power. ÒWÓ
👉👈 I give it back, I promise.
But, Pris I have an ask for you, that may cheer you up!!
How do you think taking care of the batboys (separately) after they got their wisdom tooth taken out, would go??!
I think it would be funny, snice they're chaotic on their own. Without any drugs in their system.
(Alfred definitely banned Dick "Its faster if I jump out the window to the floor balcony under me" Grayson from drinking caffeine until he was an adult).
- OwO
As someone who’s gotten their wisdom teeth removed quite recently I’d say I’m capable of answering this ask. Each of these scenarios has a bit from my experience ok? so—
Jason would be the type to just want to nap. Even when you successfully got him in the car to take him home all he was doing was saying how he wanted to nap but ong he never even tries to close his eyes to sleep once. After you both get home and you help him into bed the first thing he does after you change his gauze is crash. Which makes things difficult for you because now you have to undress his limp body and move it so that he's not laying down completely so that he doesn't accidentally choke since he's still rather numb. When he wakes up he's sad about the food he can't eat so he tries not to for as long as he can. Overall a very sleepy guy after getting his wisdom teeth removed.
Dick is so chaotic off the bat. Even when they were wheeling him out to the car you could tell that he was gonna be a handful. Tried to call everyone on his phone and when that failed he resorted to carpool karaoke. You tried to get him to stop since he shouldn't try talking but he just wouldn't shut up. Once you got home and tried to get him into bed he'd just be laughing at your struggle which would just make you struggle more since he'd be even harder to move while laughing. Because of the laughter he bleeds all over the floors and his shirt which he only laughs harder at. Similar to Jason kinda because once you replace his gauze he's out like a light, and finally you have a moment of silence for the time being. (this entire paragraph was just my experience and I'm not even joking LMFAO)
Tim would probably be almost the most tame, he'd be very sleepy and would start to mumble about tech he's working on. He'd ask you questions about designs and such and you'd just have to remind him to sit still and try not to talk much. Overall a sweetheart, he listens to you and doesn't try and talk while you're switching out his gauze. He sleeps, wakes up, and eats jello all day. The least of your problems honestly.
Damian would be quiet at first...too quiet, then comes the complaining. He'd be annoyed that he was in pain and numb at the same time??? Makes a song about the pain. You have to stop him from biting his lips because he's numb and is probably biting way harder than he realizes. After getting him home and changing his gauze he's very vocal about his hunger and is sad that he can't have normal food, but he likes the chocolate pudding so it's bittersweet for him. After his numbing wares off some and the pain starts hitting he's even more complainy- especially since he did bite his lip too hard and now it's bleeding which neither of you noticed until then. He's fine if you can get him to stop complaining though.
( I’m so so sorry this took me a minute to answer yesterday I woke up and my day went to shit and stuff happened and I had a mental breakdown and forgot all about this message! )

From The Bird's Eye View Chapter 3
Tumblr media
Pairing: Bruce Wayne x Reader
Summary: Although you achieved your dream of being a designer, you never considered meeting a man who's also a father.
Tim (13): First Meeting
“Do you mind if we record this session?”
“No.”
“Alright. Start me off on how your week started.”
There was a pause and a deep breath was drawn by you.
“It was Sunday, I woke up alone… again. I made breakfast with Alfred. We made this French recipe that he’s been dying to make. It was really good. I made a few business calls in the afternoon. I still haven’t stepped in at work.” You said, fiddling with a loose strand on your sweater.
“How long have you not been at work?”
“Two months and four days. I um, I think I want to go back. I think it will help me to just get out of the house.”
“That’s good. Has Bruce been at work?”
You pause again.
“Bruce went to work three days after the funeral.”
Dinah doesn’t reply yet. Although she was the Justice League’s grief counselor, she was your friend first.
“Want to stop the session?”
You could only nod, already beginning to cry.
Dinah stopped the recording and got out of her seat to sit next to you where you already broke down.
It’s almost been three months since Jason died. You remembered the call you got when Bruce and Jason traveled out of state to find his birth mother.
Bruce couldn’t even finish his sentence.
“I left to give them a moment. I didn’t realize it was a trap. I didn’t make it in time and Jason… he’s- he’s…” You dropped the phone on the ground, collapsing as your sight began to blur. You released a blood-curdling scream when Alfred came in, not knowing the news that would destroy him too.
The funeral was a closed casket. The only person that saw Jason was Bruce, and he hasn’t shared anything about that day. The ceremony was small, as it was just you, Bruce, Alfred, and Dick. You extended the invitation to Jason’s best friend Roy, but he couldn’t come. He was taking his death hard and had to take a break from being Oliver’s partner during patrols.
Since then, you and Bruce haven’t shared a word with each other. It felt like you were just two strangers living under the same roof. The manor felt bigger than usual, especially after Dick had to leave for San Francisco. Being at home realized how much time he didn’t spend with his brother.
You wished you had the privilege to just leave this house because it hasn’t felt like a home in a while.
Now, you’ve been trying to just move on from this grief. But nothing would have replaced this gaping hole in your heart.
“Any word on Roy?” You ask, looking at Dinah.
She shook her head.
“Oliver and Roy were fighting when he caught him using again. We’ve been trying to find him but he doesn’t want to be found.”
You remember when you met Roy for the first time.
Oliver ran into him in the Glades and saw the mischievous kid needed some guidance. On the days you visited the kids in San Francisco, Roy was one of the first kids that opened up to you. Your past was similar to Roy’s where one parent left and the other was an addict. Dinah and Oliver have been tirelessly searching for Roy for weeks now, and you were hoping that they’d find him soon.
You didn’t want them to face the same fate you did.
You made your way back home, pulling in the garage. You went upstairs to the living room, taking a deep breath as you sat on the couch.
“How was the session?” A voice said out loud.
You turned around and saw Alfred.
“It was the usual. Talked at least five minutes before sobbing.”
Alfred chuckles.
“I’ve been scrubbing this house from ceiling to basement, twice.”
You laugh as Alfred joined you on the couch. You two really relied on each other these past few days. The only person that was hard to reach out was Bruce.
Alfred has been going downstairs at the cave a lot, trying to bandage the many cuts and bruises Bruce received on patrols. Alfred was concerned, Bruce was never harmed this badly. It was almost like he wanted to get hurt. On the rare occasions you see Bruce, he looks more tired and pale. You try to go up to him, but couldn’t muster a single word.
You weren’t ready as much as he was.
“Say, why don’t we head out for an early dinner? I read in an article of a new club, heard the appetizers are to die for.”
You chuckled at the idea.
“I’d love to.”
Alfred grabbed your hand and you two headed out for dinner.
Once you got there, you and Alfred were laughing while you were lightly drinking.
“Did you know I used to own a club?” Alfred asks, eating one of the side dishes.
“No! Since when?” You ask, drinking your martini.
“After I fought in the war, I tried to become a body guard. Lucky enough, I met Thomas Wayne when he was visiting England. Oh, the trouble we used to get into! Later on the road, I lost my way. Lost good people… lost myself. Thought opening my own establishment and throwing myself in money and women would do the trick. But it just made me feel lonely.”
You stopped drinking as you look at Alfred.
You always saw him as this cheery man who helped the Wayne men to become good people. But now, you saw a man who couldn’t afford to lose another person.
“H-How did you stop feeling like that?” You asked.
He gives you a sad smile.
“I never stopped.”
Afterwards, Alfred drove you two back home. You slightly tripped over yourself as you made your way inside the manor. He was making you water in the kitchen until he got a notification on his phone
Something happened down in the cave.
“Oh dear.” He whispers to himself.
“Alfred?” You slightly slurred as you look up to him by the kitchen aisle.
“Master Bruce needs my attention on something. I will be back shortly.” He said before heading to the secret passage.
You sat there for a bit, drinking your water sparingly. After a few minutes, you decided to head down to check how Alfred was. Bruce would always pick on Alfred’s brain when a case was bothering him so you didn’t think something major would happen.
But life likes to prove you wrong.
“Is everything alright?” You ask as your voice carried to the last of the steps.
You looked up and see you caught Alfred and Bruce (unmasked) in shock as they saw you.
But that didn’t match your reaction when another person was there in between them.
You blink continuously, as your eyes thought it was Jason. But your senses returned as the boy turned around and saw you with wide eyes.
It wasn’t your son.
“Who is this?” You ask, stepping carefully to all of them.
The young preteen goes up to you, eager and slightly chipper.
“Hi, I’m Tim Drake. It’s nice to meet you.” He said, offering his hand.
You slowly take his hand and shake it, still not knowing what’s going on.
Bruce makes your way to you, telling the boy to stay with Alfred.
“You shouldn’t be down here.” Bruce said as you were finally alone.
“I was looking Alfred, I didn’t realize there’d be a kid! Who is that, Bruce?” You ask, your voice raised.
“Apparently, he’s a fan of Batman. He followed me down the cave when I wasn’t aware, said he needed my help searching for his dad.”
“How did he even find you undetected?” You ask, not believing this.
“Again, a fan of my work. Said he’s been studying my patterns and that it was easy to follow me back to my base, especially since I’ve gotten sloppy in the past few weeks.”
You pause for a moment, minimizing your anger towards Bruce.
“Why is he going to you and not the police?”
“The police has been tracking down his dad, but only to turn him in. Apparently his father was reported to answer for a high ranking criminal. With my help, Tim wants to clear his father’s name.”
You look over to the boy asking a million questions to Alfred as he tried to answer the boy’s curiosity.
“Does he have a place to stay?” You ask, crossing your arms.
“His mom passed away about a year ago and his dad is his only living relative.”
You think momentarily and look back at Bruce.
“Let him stay till you find his dad.”
Bruce nods as he makes his way to Tim and discuss what’s going to happen.
Alfred brought the young boy upstairs while you stayed down as Bruce began to begin a new case.
“You didn’t come to the session.” You simply said, as you stare at the back of his head as he was staring at the monitor.
“I couldn’t make it, I was making sure that the Wayne internship program was going to run.” He said in his usual monotone voice.
“I called them. Luscious Fox answered saying they haven’t seen you the past several days. Hell Bruce, I haven’t seen you in weeks! What is it going to take for you to talk to me?” You yelled, your voice echoing on the walls.
Bruce passed at what he was doing and turned to you with those eyes that were filled with love. Now, it looked like they were full of pain and regrets.
“I need to help him find his dad. After this is done, we can talk.”
Your eyes brimmed with tears. Bruce loved to hit the pause button when things need to be addressed.
“Fine, but don’t expect to find me in your bed.” You whispered before you went upstairs.
Bruce rubbed his stubbled jaw and closed his eyes momentarily, trying to find the peace he has been robbed of for some time.
He went back to his computer, typing in Tim’s father’s name in police records and tapped in bank account numbers under his name. With just a few downloads, Bruce accessed who has been transferring money. There was a transfer made not only a week ago. Bruce moved his tracer to click the route number it was made from. He stopped what he was doing as he recognized the number. He opened up a new window to access the files he found a few years ago and saw that the route number was the same.
The route number belonged to Harvey Dent, and Tim’s father was working for him.
It’s been a week since Tim has stayed in the manor. Mostly, he’s been by Bruce’s side, giving him any type of information on his dad. Bruce can tell he’s a bright kid and even offered him an internship at work. He was thrilled by the offer and was happy he got to work along side Bruce.
Alfred was starting to feel like his usual self again. He even started to lecture Tim about drinking water after he learned how to use the espresso machine.
The only person that Tim hasn’t talked to was you.
Tim knew he entered your life at a time of mourning, so he wanted to be respectful of your space.
One day, he was walking around the manor to discover what rooms had in store. He came across a locked room that hasn’t been used. Eager to know what’s inside, he used a few paper clips he found and started picking on the lock.
“Yes!” He said to himself as he heard the door unlock. He turned the knob and stepped inside. Once he turned on the light switch, his attitude changed.
“Oh no.”
He realized he was in Jason’s room.
Tim saw the discarded comics on the foot of the bed, stacking up to a feet tall. There were posters of bands he never heard that covered every inch of the walls. A basket of clothes were piled near the closed closet, never to be worn again.
Tim wanted to leave, but a glint of light annoyed his sight. He walked closer and saw a picture frame that has a picture of Bruce, you, Dick, Alfred, and Jason. It was a family portrait, looking as if it was taken 2 years ago. You all looked so young, so happy, so-
“What are you doing in here?”
Tim was so scared that he jolted his head to the direction of your voice and accidentally dropped the picture, shattering the glass.
There you stood, shellshocked.
“I am so sorry - I didn’t meant to do that! I-I just wanted to see the rooms and I didn’t…”
Tim stuttered, feeling his anxiety building.
You saw the signs and went up to him.
“Tim, honey, I need you to breathe, alright? Follow my lead.”
You coached him to follow you breathe and copied every move. Once he calmed down, you both took a final deep breath.
“Okay, why don’t we fix this mess and talk elsewhere, okay?”
Tim could only nod as you both knelt down to pickup the broken glass. Once done, you took one final glance at the room and the picture that stood at its original spot on the desk. You close that door a final time, but feeling a strange sense of acceptance,
You turn to face Tim who looked ashamed for what he did. You went to him, giving a warm smile.
“C’mon, Alfred made cookies.”
Soon, you and Tim were watching your favorite film, The Legend of Zorro. Tim was amused by the fighting choreography as well as the writing.
“Wow! I can’t believe I’m just seeing this now!” Tim said, munching on Alfred’s infamous toffee chocolate chip cookies.
“It’s one of my favorite films. We would watch it all the time after the boys would come back from a patrol. Bruce doesn’t like to watch it as it brought some bad memories, but Jason pleaded for him to join movie night. Bruce sat through the whole thing, just to see me and Jason happy.”
Your gaze became distant, envisioning that simple night where you took thees moments for granted.
“How - how was Jason like?” Tim asks.
You took a deep breath and looked over at him.
“He was a good kid. Naughty, but still a good kid. He was eager to bake with Alfred, just so he could lick off the spoon when they were done. Jason loved to make people laugh. But as he got older, he started build his anger. He got mad at Bruce a lot, said he was still being treated like a child. Then I started to lecture him. The moment he changed his attitude was when he realized his birth mother was still alive. I never seen him so driven, so eager. And when he left to find her-”
You took a pause.
Tim saw your state and decided to console you.
“It would have been nice… meeting him.” Tim thought out loud.
You nod in agreement, smiling.
“He would have liked you, I bet you two would have fought over his comics or mangas.”
“I saw! I never passed that issue he had!” Tim said excitingly.
“If you like, you can have a look at what books are in the room.”
“Really?” He asks unsure.
“Absolutely. Now, let’s take a look at what other movies we can watch. There’s Willow, The Princess Bride-”
“What’s that?” Tim asks.
You look at him with disbelief as you shook your head.
“Oh, we are watching that.”
Later on, Bruce came to the manor. He realized that it was too quiet so he wandered around and found the movie room where it was filled with laughter. He moved the curtain of the entrance and saw you and Tim copying the fight choreography of The Princess Bride.
“My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father, prepare to die.” You quoted, using a broom as a sword.
Tim tried striking you with a curtain pole (where he got it? Bruce doesn’t even want to know) and switched roles.
“No! My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father, prepare to die!”
Bruce began to smile as he heard your laughter. He hasn’t seen you this happy for a long time.
“They’ve been there all evening. You should join them.”
Bruce turns to see Alfred who also missed your youthful spirit.
“Let them have all the fun.” Bruce simply said as walked to the kitchen to pour himself a glass of whiskey.
“How has your investigation been for the young boy’s father?”
“He’s been hard to find, but I was able to interrogate on of Two Face’s henchman and they admitted they’re planning to pick up a shipment of firearms in 2 weeks. Most likely he will be there.”
Alfred nodded as he was cleaning the counter. But, thought came over his head, making him stop what he was doing.
“Sir, there’s something that has been bothering me for awhile now.”
Bruce looks up from his drink, concerned.
“When you accessed records for Harvey Dent, I saw that they were saved after his accident. I remembered because you took it to heart that day when you weren’t able to protect him. And not even a week later, you asked me to reserve a fitting for Master Grayson for his suit.”
“Alfred…”
“Is Harvey Dent her father?” Alfred asks with his voice demanding a straight answer.
There was a pause as Bruce looked down.
“Yes, he’s her biological father.”
Alfred takes off his glasses in disbelief.
“You’ve been investigating her this entire time?” Alfred asks with disbelief.
Bruce felt uncomfortable of the confrontation, ashamed.
“At the first time, yes. I thought she would have an idea of where Dent disappeared after the accident. But she could never talk about or anything about how she grew up. I assumed she just never met him and I stopped the case there.”
Alfred felt his blood boil.
“But you lied to her, Master Bruce. She brought up not only one, but two of your sons! She doesn’t question your decisions for the city or for this family because se trusts you. And now she deeply cares for that boy in the other room that you have brought into this house! You have not carried your responsibilities as a CEO, a caretaker, you haven’t even proposed to her after all of these years and she’s still here, patiently waiting. She loves you, Bruce. Do you love her?”
There was a pause that filled in the air. Bruce was going to respond until you came in with an empty plate.
You looked at the men in the kitchen, unaware of the conflict that arose.
“Sorry, didn’t meant to interrupt. The movie ended and I was going to clean up.”
“I’ll take care of it, you all should head up for the night.” Alfred said as he carefully grabbed the plate for him to wash.
“Night Alfred, thanks for everything.” You said, hugging him quickly before you headed out.
Bruce looks back to Alfred who hasn’t made eye contact with him. Bruce decided to leave too.
You two walked up the staircase in silence. You look at Bruce who appeared deep in thought.
“How was work?” You asked.
“It was eventful. We’re thinking of branching out in Japan, but it’s going to take a few years to plan out the logistics.”
“Ah, nice! I never been to Japan.” You replied.
When you reached the tip of the stairs, Bruce stopped.
“I um, heard your back at work too.” He said.
“Yeah. I was, uh, talking with Dinah about it during our sessions. Thought it was time.”
Bruce nods. “That’s great. I’m happy for you.”
“Thanks. I gotta get to bed, there’s a meeting early in the morning.” You said, about to leave.
“Wait.” Bruce caught up with you and was looking at you softly.
He pauses at that moment. Here you both stood, uninterrupted.
He could tell you the truth about your father.
He could tell you that he's been hurting as much as you.
But all he could see was you looking at him with a love like gaze.
“I know I haven’t been around lately, especially for you. I want to make this right, so I was wondering if I could join the next session with you.”
You look at Bruce. You know deep in your heart that he’s trying and looking within his eyes, he meant every word he said.
“It’s going to be 2 weeks from now during the day. I don’t know if you’re going to make-”
“Nothing is going to stop me from being there.” He promised.
“Okay, I’ll let Dinah know you’re coming. Good night, Bruce.” You said, kissing his cheek as you walked away from him.
He stood there as you walked into the guest room, but you leave the guest door open.
Bruce slowly follows you in the dimmed room, closing the door and locked it.
+
After that night, you and Bruce were living in this bubble. It was like you two haven’t been fighting or avoiding each other these past weeks. Maybe you’re afraid that everything would go into disarray if someone could pop this short-term happiness.
But for now, you stayed in ignorant bliss.
Tim came down to the bat cave with Bruce to lightly spar, as Bruce viewed it’ll be a good skill to learn. The Wayne man started to form some pride, seeing how Tim significantly impacted him.
Suddenly, they both heard a ping come from the monitor.
“What’s going on?” Tim asked as Bruce rushed over.
“I made a motion sensor at the location where Two-Face will be making the deal. Seems that there’s a lot of commotion there.” Bruce said, looking at the heat sensor.
“My dad could be there?” Tim asks, running towards the screen.
“Possibly, I need to leave now before this deal is made.” Bruce said, already heading to wear his gear.
“Wait! Let me join you.” Tim said.
Bruce pauses before looking back at Tim.
“You’re safe here.” Bruce said, spreading suiting up.
“I know how to defend myself, and you need someone to watch your six. And besides, how is my dad supposed to surrender if I’m not there? Please, Bruce, I have to do this. He’s the only family I have.”
Bruce remembers the similar words spoken to him when Jason was trying to find his mom.
“I gotta find her, Bruce. If I don’t, I’d never forgive myself…”
Bruce takes a deep breath and goes up to Tim.
“I think there’s a suit in your size, you can look in the back.”
Tim smiled brightly and hurried back to find what he was looking for.
Bruce was about to mask until he heard you and Alfred heading down to the cave.
“Master Bruce, we’re ready for dinner for you and-”
Alfred stops mid-sentence as you both see Tim dressed in a Robin suit.
Jason’s Robin suit.
“Why is he wearing that?” You said, walking towards Bruce.
“There’s an alert at the place of the deal. I need Tim there-”
“No. You don’t.” You gritted, feeling your skin burn.
Tim stood there, feeling uncomfortable as you and Bruce were fighting about where he would join Bruce or stay. But time was not at his side. He had to save his dad, if not him... who else?
Tim made his decision, grabbing the keys to Dick’s old motorcycle and programming it to take him to the destination.
“Master Drake!” Alfred said as he saw Tim riding away.
“Tim! TIM!” You screamed, trying to run after him but it was no use. He left outside of the bat cave and you accidentally fell down. Alfred goes up to you, consoling you as you broke down in a sob.
You made eye contact with Bruce as if he tore your heart out of your chest.
“Bring him - back.” You choked out in between your sobs.
Bruce brought you up to your feet and gave you a final look before running towards his car to drive after Tim.
He races for Tim, hoping he isn’t too late.
He can’t be.

was thinking about reyson (my beloved) again, and then an epiphany hit me.
alfred & reyson are very similar, character concept wise.
while their personalities are quite different, they are similar in a few things... [spoilers ahead]
homeland's association with 'green' nature. IDK really how to word it, but how firene is full of lush fields and such, and herons resided in serenes forest. both homelands were associated with peace, and would eventually go aflame.
homeland's association with 'green' nature. IDK really how to word it, but how firene is full of lush fields and such, and herons resided in serenes forest. both homelands were associated with peace, and would eventually go aflame.
desire to overcome their physical nature. this one was the key thing that made me think about their similarities. reyson's 'issue' comes from his own physicality/biology of being a heron laguz. heron laguz are pretty fragile. reyson simply punching oliver that didn't give serious damage to the latter, resulted in reyson fracturing the bones in his hand. even bad vibes can make him sick... alfred on the other hand is held back by his illness that he's had ever since he was a child. both characters wish to overcome this, and both have a similar 'ideal' they desire to achieve...muscles. alfred is allllll about muscles and training. most of his supports are about this fact. reyson is a bit more lowkey about it, but it's clear he thinks of tibarn as his ideal. "I wanted so much to be like Tibarn. Big body, strong wings…" (from feh, but i know the 'big body strong wings' is a thing from the actual duology somewhere, i just can't remember where). reyson even tries eating like tibarn, which almost gets him killed. both reyson & alfred cannot achieve their desired state because of their 'physical nature', but they do try.
related to the last point kinda, but both are noted to act atypical of their expected decorum (side note i really like the word decorum idk why). reyson is noted to not act typical of herons. wanting revenge & violence at first at those who burned his home down, acting more aggressive. it makes sense when you consider who he lived with after the serenes massacre... it's also noted how rafiel acts like what's expected of herons, which is contrasted by how reyson acts...well not. for alfred, he is described as 'a barbarian in prince's clothing' by céline. his diamant c support also had diamant doing prince™ things, and alfred's all like "what's your fav muscle 😁."
their designs are also very (very) pretty & on the more feminine side, but their ideals lay more 'typically masculine'. reyson has an androgynous appearance, while alfred has flower motifs + frills and such. these contrasts with reyson's more 'fiery' & 'aggressive' personality, and alfred's thing with muscles (both things are typically associated with masculinity.)
and uhhh yeah. mini analysis over! i've always loved reyson, and alfred just got better the more i got to know him. like i said, they do differ in personality in a lot of ways, but it's cool how two characters with similar setups can be so distinctive.

HAPPY 5/5 DAY YALL(I know it’s like a day late but hey I’m sortave made it in time!! Select your player from:
🌹a splendid darling🌹
🧰a trusty hard maintenance worker ⚙️
🔎 a quiet timid detective🔍
RAMBLING UNDER CUT CAUSE IT GETS LONG LOL:
Hands yall the pencil sketch I did of James first, would probably inked it but I’m still proud of it (Shane and Rusty I did on the same page so they’re smushed together and it’s messy ahah)
Tumblr media
James gave me the most difficulty cause I knew I wanted to be make him Latino(Filipino/Spaniard to be exact) so I searched up bull fighting clothing and I gave him the gilet-vest underneath his big coat of his cause he’s copying Gordon (to the point of absolutely antagonizing, blaming and arguing with Alfred for everything he has done though to be fair he did traumatize Thomas kidnap his sister figure Nia and almost broke Gordon but like the Rusty scenario that’s another can of worms to get to later) but also cause I’m on the whole him idolizing and copying him around bandwagon so things like similar coat patterns, his keychains, jabot/cravat,epaulettes,beret-like hat etc) and of course I had to make him eye-catching like he wasn’t you attention so lot of gold accents and of course roses (get it cause with his surname) with him having one on his coat and on his cuff pins and rings 🌹 for symbolism
Rusty was actually the easiest cause I already had a design for them cause I already wanted them to wear a tool belt and hardhat for their job , overalls and the protection knee pads I actually got from glowynviator on Twitter, same goes with having those (forgive I don’t know exactly what to call them) circles that appear to release smoke from their radiator as little silver buttons on their collars and pockets for their jackets and I changed the color scheme to for both the tv and rws versions. They’re pretty much unwillingly involved with the supernatural shenanigans (though then again a lot of folks are here but considering when they first got here, they legit witnessed their coworker get nearly crushed to death, the treatment of Duncan, the Sudrian verison of Bigfoot, a possible immortal fallen king 👑 fogman and of course the Boulder, they can’t seem catch a break)
Shane Dooiney I was completely inspired by gloynviator by Twitter humanizations of the Culdee Fell Railway (seriously y’all go check them out they’re awesome 🤩 and amazing and just incredible 💕💞) but with some minor changes like more detective-esque, think Looker from Pokemon or Inspector Gadget/Zenigata cause I love them so much but also a chunk of their personality is from Crona cause I love the hairstyle . Their personality I based it off of The Trainz Adventures, he’s said to be shy cause of people constantly mock their name which leads to him keeping to himself but ain’t afraid to help others, LeatherBootlace and StarSearch1927 on Deviantart (where he feels out of place for being away for so long, suffers from Middle Child syndrome/the Black Sheep of the Railwa due to being away fro overhauled a majority of the time during important events of the series so they feel out of the loop, the latter being the main inspiration for the ““private investigator” persona they have since he has a eagle eye for everything and thinks of crime solving and a love for mysteries while former used he/they pronouns for Shane and we need more he/thems here ✨) of course the top hat 🎩 is their funnel.

Y'all ready to vote on some...
AMPLIFIER & ZONEMAKER I have to admit I haven't a clue on. They seem like pretty generic terms, I can't find similar things they may have been pulled from. But it seems really odd that these two have such a distinct and specific design as clown-like, with the umbrella, and it doesn't seem to tie back into anything...
HEISENBERG is presumably named after Werner Heisenberg, the German nuclear weapons physicist, and a pioneer of quantum physics. Why he appears in the original WA looking like the wicked witch of the west is unclear...
QUE SERA SERA I think this one was in the boss tournament, if only for a flicker of a moment. I can only assume it's based on the song, Que Sera, Sera (Whatever Will Be, Will Be), made popular by the Alfred Hitchcock movie, The Man Who Knew Too Much.
LILYPAD was an egregious mislocalization of LILLIPUT, as in the LILLIPUTIANs from Gulliver's travels; the little people who tie Gulliver to the ground as featured in countless illustrations and covers to the book.
GRIMLOCK is a D&D monster, a weird unground dwelling monstrous demihuman. They're kind of super indistinct and easily forgotten in the roster of more memorable classic humanoid monster species.
GIGANTE originally GIGANTES, on the one hand it's just the Spanish for "Giants." But the Japanese katakana in google returns almost exclusively the Dragon Quest monster of the same name, so possibly just a throwback to a classic JRPG?
GIANT MAXIMUM this weirdly specific, and unnatural wording definitely feels like it had to have been borrowed from something, but I could not track down a source.

Genuine Question, I know the 2p is supposed to be like, a darker version of the normal Hetalia, but what are the general rules for creating them?
2p’s are very interesting and fun to create. Personally, I don’t think there is a wrong way to create them, but I’ll start off with a bit of their history and then go into how I do it. Also, those unspoken rules.
Hidekaz Himaruya made released images of his characters with alternate designs. In his comments about the images, he said they were drawn as if they ran their own evil organizations (1). Mix that, the darker designs with an anime/manga with no set villain and BOOM! The 2ps were officially, unofficial.
This is part of the reason why they started so dark. It also allowed people to explore a deeper foil for these characters. Digging deeply into the sins of their own country and force the representative to confront them. Sometimes that was shown by having them being an internal entity that waits for the cracks in the mental wall like a predatory beast behind cage walls. Other times it was a physical being that was scorned residing within the same universe or in another one connected by the reflection of a mirror.
That is the interpretation that I enjoy. I loved reading all the stories that were sprinkled with horror and thriller elements due to the 2ps coming to collect what they believed was theirs, even IF they were wrong.
Over time it turned to a focus on flipped personalities and appearances rather than the villain mindset. There isn’t anything wrong with it and some of the stories are actually pretty cute.
But I will admit, as it grew more popular, I longed for the darkness that originally attracted me to their themes in the first place. Which is part of the reason why I started writing for them and why mine have that darkness within them and gave them the purpose of protectors and providers. Plus being inspired by lots of different authors.
On to the rules!
There actually aren’t a lot. Mostly just make your 2p the opposite of the 1p. For mine, I liked including some commonalities due to their similar upbrings. Almost like one would see in siblings, but then switching around some key traits to create someone new.
I’ll use both the Americas for example.
Both Allen and Alfred are loud and prefer actions to words. Where they differ is that Allen knows when to bow out and regroup. Alfred on the other hand will stick to the same strategy until it kills him. This can be broken down even further via people’s own interpretation of these two characters.
Another example would be my short; Bonding. This one show some of the differences that are shown when both French representatives interact.
If you want to make them dark or evil go for it. If not, you can make them as lighthearted as you prefer. These are fan creations and are yours once you create them. Have fun and make it yours!
I’m sorry this turned out to be so long. I hope it answers your question and feel free to ask more!

Marie Ault and Ivor Novello in The Lodger: A Story of the London Fog (Alfred Hitchcock, 1927) Cast: Ivor Novello, June Tripp, Marie Ault, Arthur Chesney, Malcolm Keen. Screenplay: Eliot Stannard, based on a novel by Marie Belloc Lowndes; title writing: Ivor Montagu. Cinematography: Gaetano di Ventimiglia, Hal Young. Art direction: C. Wilfred Arnold, Bertram Evans. Title design: E. McKnight Kauffer. Film editing: Ivor Montagu. As Alfred Hitchcock's first major film, The Lodger has been strip-mined for anticipations of the themes and techniques that would recur throughout his career, from the fixation on blondes to the fear of cops, from Russian-inspired montage to German expressionistic lighting and camera angles. They're all there, of course, as is the "wrong man" motif that Hitchcock frequently exploited. It's often told that the film was almost shelved by the studio until producer Michael Balcon called in Ivor Montagu, film critic for the Observer, to critique it. The extent of Montagu's contributions will never really be known, although he has been credited with sharply reducing the number of title cards, and for suggesting that designer E. McKnight Kauffer be hired to give the ones that remained a distinct style. In any case, The Lodger is a film that really feels "Hitchcockian," especially when you compare it to Downhill, the melodrama Hitchcock made the same year, which also starred Ivor Novello. The difference is not just that The Lodger is a suspense movie and Downhill isn't, but that The Lodger has a rhythm to it that Downhill, with its rather sprawling account of the fortunes of its protagonist, lacks. You can sense Hitchcock developing a narrative pace here, especially in the central section in which the landlady begins to suspect that the lodger might actually be the serial killer and snoops in his room while he's out -- at the same time that the blonde-murdering Avenger claims another victim. Hitchcock would refine the rhythm over the years until it reaches its brilliant peak in the similar scene in Rear Window (1954) in which Lisa decides to snoop in Lars Thorwald's apartment. We probably don't have as much problem as contemporary audiences did with the idea that matinee-idol Novello could actually turn out to be the villain, although we can understand it if we remember that Hitchcock faced the same problem in 1941 with Cary Grant's casting as a potential murderer in Suspicion. In The Lodger, Hitchcock gave in and abandoned his original plan to leave the conclusion ambiguous, though he lays it on a bit too thick in the opposite direction by posing Novello cradled in June Tripp's arms like Christ in a Pietà. The Lodger has been beautifully restored, so that it remains a wonderful film to look at, with its elegantly designed title cards and its atmospherically tinted frames.

Writer’s Month Prompts (written for @writersmonth and @angel-gidget )
Day 13 - Knot (Dick/Babs)
“Mum,” Mary called loud enough to be heard at the back of the house.  “I need help!”
Even though she’d been on comms all night, a knot of panic bloomed in Babs’ chest. Had Mary been hurt somewhere between the last time Babs caught her on camera and now? Had Dick? Their suits’ biometrics hadn’t recorded any anomalies. While Babs had full faith in Dick to watch out for their daughter (and himself), she worried about their daughter. Mary had only been out as Batgirl for a month and didn’t know her limits yet.  Babs swore she didn’t know how her dad—or Alfred—had done it for all these years, knowing their child (or, in the case of the Robins, grandchildren) had been out all night while they watched from the sidelines.
Counting to five, Babs let out a slow breath. She pulled up the house cameras, and followed as her daughter raced up the stairs—in costume. Mary didn’t appear to be bleeding, so Babs could breathe a little easier. But, Nightwing was still on duty and Bruce had called for backup. If Dick needed help, she needed to be there.
Before Babs could maneuver her wheelchair across her office, Mary burst through the office door. Her face was bright and still bursting with the excitement from a successful night a Gotham’s newest vigilante.
“Mum, I need your help.” Somewhere between the basement lair and the office, Mary had lost her cowl and and gloves. Dark ginger curls escaped the its brain and plastered along her neck and forehead. Mary hopped on one still booted foot. In her hand she held her other boot.
“Mary Elizabeth Grayson.”
At the tone in Babs’ voice Mary froze and glanced sheepishly up at her mom. It was the same tone which Alfred had mastered and the former Robins still instantly obeyed. “Yes?”
“First, there is no need to yell. We don’t want to wake your brother. Second, we have rules about wearing costumes upstairs, don’t we?” Babs gave Batgirl’s cape a gentle tug. While Babs might wish to think her daughter chose blue and gold for her uniform in deference to Babs’ early costume, the colors were more in line with Dick’s first Nightwing costume. Thankfully, the style was similar to Steph’s Robin costume than several of the other designs she could have taken as inspiration.
“I took off my cowl, so I thought it’d be okay. But, I guess it’s still pretty obvious I’m Batgirl. Sorry mum.” Mary unbuckled her utility belt and let it drop to the floor.
“I forgive you.” Babs tapped her daughter’s chin, lifting it until she met her eyes. Dick also had trouble remembering to not leave his uniform lying around where anyone might find it. “Just remember, we have rules for a reason. I need to know you’re able to obey them. Do you understand?”
“Yes, ma’am.”
Babs pulled her daughter in for a hug. “Now, what did you need my help with?”
Breaking out from the embrace, Mary lifted her still booted foot. “I can’t undo the know. And Daddy didn’t have time to help after he dropped me off.”
Almost laughing in relief, Babs took hold of Mary’s foot and studied the knot for a moment. Like Nightwing’s boots, they were specially designed for to allow her acrobatic husband and daughter to feel the ground beneath their feet while protecting them from the rubble strewn streets of Gotham. The easiest solution would be to cut the laces, but Babs cherished the idea of spending some time with her daughter while trying to save the yellow laces. “Lie down, darling, and give me your good.
Mary laid her back and propped her foot on Babs’ knees. The knot was fiendishly tight and took Babs a moment to decide where to start.
“So, what did you do tonight?” Though Oracle had observed her Batgirl’s patrol via cameras and comms, as her mother, Babs liked hearing her daughter’s perspective.
“Let’s see. First Daddy and I patrolled. It was quiet tonight, but we were able to stop by and see Grandpa Jim. He brought me a juice box and then talked to Daddy without me.” Mary ticked the events off on her fingers.
Babs smiled. For Mary, ‘patrol’ was mostly some basic parkour around the safer parts of town. As for Nightwing’s meeting with the Commissioner, Babs had also been part of that conversation via the vigilante’s comm. The Bats and Birds were following a human trafficking ring and Nightwing was keeping Dad in the loop about a new lead. Dick and Bruce were scheduled to meet up later this evening and and follow the lead.
“What happened next?” Babs prompted. With deft fingers, she tugged through a newly loosened loop.
“Then we reached the grocery store in time to help Mrs. Johnson carry her groceries.” Mary ran her hands through her thoroughly mussed cowl head. Her fingers caught in the tight curls. “I like helping Mrs. Johnson. Did you know she always goes grocery shopping on Thursdays? Isn’t it amazing how we’re always there to help her.”
“Yes, darling. I am so glad you are able to help Mrs. Johnson.” Babs frowned at the knot. Half the lace had twisted around itself. As for Mrs. Johnson, Mary had met the elderly woman her first week of patrol and being her father’s daughter, had struck up a friendship. When Mary suggested helping Mrs. Johnson, Thursday night patrols were scheduled around the shopping trip.
“After helping Mrs Johnson we met up with Gra—“
“Codenames when in uniform,” Babs chastised lightly. She should have reminded Mary to address Daddy and Grandpa Jim as Nightwing and Commissioner respectively.
Mary rolled her eyes and tugged at her cape’s quick release clasps. Despite the tradition of capes for Batgirl and Robin, it was unlikely Mary would have patience to continue wearing it for much longer. “We met with Catwoman and fed the stray cats by Robinson Park. There was a couple of new ones. We caught them so we could take them to the humane society tomorrow. Can I go with her? Please.”
“I’ve already made arrangements with her. She’ll pick you up from  our research lesson at the library right before lunch. You’ll have lunch, then you can head down to the shelter with her.” While Selina loved cats, even she couldn’t take in every stray in Gotham. The cats would be spayed or neutered and released back to the streets, where Selina would continue to care for them.
Though Mary bounced with leftover adrenaline, her wiggles were growing more lethargic. Babs loosened the next loop until she could work the end if the lace through. “Was there anything else?”
“We stopped a mugging on the way home. Well, Daddy—Nightwing—did most of the stopping. But, I had a very important job too. I made certain the man being robbed was not hurt and he stayed calmed. Then we called the police. Detective Gage was on duty so I got to say hi to him.”  Mary propped herself up on her elbows. “Are you done yet?”
“Just about.” The laces fell free of the knot and dangled on either side of her daughter’s foot. She held the heel of the boot. “Try now.”
Mary slipped her foot out of the stubborn boot and hopped up to her feet. Now all she wore was her leggings and tunic. “Thanks Mum!” Mary threw her arms around her mom in an exuberant embrace.
“Good job tonight,” Babs grabbed one of her tablets wit Oracle level security. “Let’s head to the kitchen. You can fill out your mission debriefing while I get you a snack. I believe Grandpa Alfred dropped off some of his chocolate chip cookies earlier.”
“Yeah,” Mary dashed out to the kitchen, eager for the cookies even if they were accompanied by paperwork.
Following her daughter at a more sedate pace, Babs felt proud of her daughter’s accomplishment. Though still so young, Mary definitely had the heart of a hero like all her aunts, uncles, grandfathers, and parents. There was hope for the next generation of Gotham.
——
A half hour later, Mary was tucked into bed and Babs was back at her desk. An Oracle-green glow illuminated the room, as the massive amount of information she routinely collected scrolled across her screens. Automatically, she began sifting through the data, separating by case or who requested the information. Meanwhile, she kept half an eye on the Gotham vigilantes and ready to serve as their eyes and ears whenever they needed her.
Patrol for the full fledged vigilantes had settled into a routine pattern while they waited to make their move. Nightwing remained down at the rail yards to keep watch for any signs the traffickers schedule had changed.
Seeing her husband alone for the time being, Babs decided to take advantage of the situation. She double checked the encryption on the comms and opened the private line without the voice modulator.
“Hey lover boy,” Babs spoke softly. “Good job tonight.”
Dick made no reaction to signify he was talking on comms. Though he whispered, the edge of melodrama filtered over the line. “So, my dazzling daredoll hasn’t forgotten about me after all.”
She groaned. Only Dick was allowed to get away with calling her by the old epithets. And then, only when they were alone. When he said it, it made her feel dazzling. Besides, it wasn’t like she didn’t have plenty of ammunition to retaliate with. “Sorry hunkwonder, there was a shoe emergency.”
“Tell me about it.” Dick laughed lightly. “Our little Batgirl certainly keeps me on my toes.”
“I miss you.” Babs brought up a clear video of Nightwing perched on the top of an empty boxcar.
He glanced up at the camera and grinned. “I miss you too.”
“Do you want to tell me about your day as you wait?” Thursdays were tricky. Babs taught an early morning freshman computer-sci class at the college, Dick taught an evening advance aerial acrobatics class. Which meant, she left before he woke and he got home with only enough time for a kiss and a bite to eat  before taking the newest Batgirl out on patrol.
“Of course…” Dick gave her a whispered account of his day and he finished she shared a few anecdotes about her time on campus.
“Nightwing, on your six, you’ve got company.” Babs seamlessly slipped back into Oracle mode as van arrived at the rail yard as scheduled.
“Love you, babe,” he whispered into the comm as he leapt to a better vantage point.
“Love you too. Be safe.” Oracle flipped the voice modulator as she switched back to the general comm. “Batman, the target is on the move…”
Life was sometimes hectic, always busy, but no matter what happened Babs found that life was good.

“early trends in historic preservation was usually only buildings related to famous figures. this means straight white male guys.”
“if you break a local historic district ordinance then you’re in deep shit depending on how strict the ordinance is”
“example of ancient classical style-almost any fucking building in dc Jesus Christ”
“wide band of trim beneath the eaves-is this house style competing to be miss universe?”
“the fuck is a fanlight?”
“beaux arts! one of the most extra house styles ever”
“is an italianate house just a fancy box are you shitting me-“
“Second Empire, sadly not Star Wars related.”
“all these old fashioned houses were designed by pretentious fucks and made as similar as possible to annoy me specifically. I’m gonna go grave punching.”
“gothic revival. the house where the creepy elderly person lives and lightning illuminates it when it’s raining”
“pointed arches? either be pointy or be an arch STOP BEING BOTH”
“Queen Anne style. This house is gay as fuck sorry I don’t make the rules”
“Tudor style! The one where you see shitty recreations at Renaissance fairs!”
“Art Deco is if DND dwarves got creative”
“The craftsman style, aka the money pit”
“why would someone named Alfred Butt build a building like an octagon. the opportunity was RIGHT THERE”
“if the roof angle looks like if you sledded down it you’d end up in the ER, it’s medieval style.”
I hope everyone does well on midterms! go! fight! win!

Aziraphale's Bookshop -- Scenic Highlights (Exterior)
I’m very excited to start off my Good Omens Scenic Highlights with various observations I’ve made regarding the scenic design of Aziraphale’s Bookshop.
Most of the details I’ve collected are from episode one, exactly eight minutes in. This is an opening shot and showcases most, if not all of the street on which Aziraphale’s bookshop resides
To start out simply, the bookshop is two stories, which ties into the idea that Aziraphale doesn’t reside ‘live’ there and that both stories are intended for holding books.
Interestingly, the coat of paint on the bookshop’s storefront is the eldest of all the stores visible on the street, at least at first glance. Everything is faded, dusty, or otherwise muddied by rain, especially the sign letters above the shop, which are almost impossible to read due to their golden sheen.
I’d like to note that these details serve to show Aziraphale’s desire to be inconspicuous so that no one feels inclined to enter his shop and (heaven forbid) attempt to purchase a book. Even the choice in color palette — the maroon paired with gold — can be considered leaning towards nondescript, especially when compared to the vibrant colors of every other building on the street.
The bricks are in similarly aged state to the paint, however some of the other stores have similar wear and tear. This makes sense, as according to canon, the bookshop existed in the 1920s; if I had to guess based purely on historical photographs of London, I’d say that it was originally built between the late 1800s and the early 1900s. The 1870s, at the earliest.
According to a line spoken by Maggie in episode one, it also housed the record store at one point during the 1920s. The brickwork is consistent where the shops meet in support of this fact.
Interestingly, there are no external lights on the bookshop, or most other shops on the street, for that matter. At night, all the light comes from within the shops.
I cannot describe to you the utmost joy seeing the weathering of Aziraphale’s door brings me. There’s scuffing between the doors and across the bottom, as well as all the metal details — fingerprints, too. There are even little mud spatters across both doors and discolorations where the doors meet, showing where people would have touched them most often. It’s the little things.
I’d like to point out the unnecessarily detailed Opening Hours taped (as in, sellotaped — I don’t know why, but this is one of those random details that has me absolutely floored) to the door — another simple, but quintessential detail.
There’s also what I believe to be a metal boot scraper outside the door, depicted most clearly in episode one at 19:11, as well as a (wet) footprint right next to it — which could be there for a combination of reasons beyond set dressing, but I’d like to imagine that it’s there for the scraper.
I found this photo by happenstance and thought I might point it out – Aziraphale’s bookstore has similar architecture, as well as the metal grates accenting the sides:
Tumblr media
Titled, ‘Shop in Brewer Street, Soho: 1878 by Alfred Henry Bool’, this photo is located in Museum of London.
It was destroyed to make place for new buildings -- I can't help but wonder what color it was.
One thing I can’t figure out is whether the metal bars on the outside of the bookshop were included because of a basement that Crowley alluded to (and may or may not have been lying about), for sewage/drainage/venting purposes, or if they’re simply there for textural purposes. If someone knows what they’re for, I’d love to know.
A detail I adored from the novel that was kept was the door’s letterbox. It’s such a small thing, but so, so important.
One detail from the novel that I’m oddly disappointed wasn’t included was the fanlight above the door. I recently did a lot of analysis of the bookshop based on the novel and the line it was described in was one of my favorites; I’d hazard a guess it wasn’t included because it didn’t fit the aesthetic of the facade, but that’s yet another thing I’m not sure of and would very much like to know.
(For those curious, the fanlight quote is “There was a scraping near the door, and if Aziraphale had been looking in that direction he would have seen a battered felt hat trying to peer over the fanlight” (Page 286).)

javier “javi” maverick jones-gonzalez
age 16
desc: medium long, dark brown hair, tan skin, brown eyes, freckles across his nose. has a cowlick, called the “panhandle”
son of mexico and america, born in 1812 due to a night together after alfred sold ammunition to rosa during her revolution
during the early years of her war of independence, mexico gave birth and raised him alone between fighting. alfred, who was at war, eventually came back to find that he had a son. he stayed along the border for several years, caring for their son while rosa was at war
looks a lot like his mother. same skin tone, hair, eyes, nose, etc. his physic resembles his father
needs glasses but never wears them. he gave his to his dad as a gift after the civil war. his dad says the glasses give him perfect aim. santi squints a lot cause he cant see
he is a smooth, laid back and easy type of guy. the embodiment of southern hospitality. he is very, very cool without even trying
though most of the time he is relaxed, he is not “chill”. he is trigger happy and always on the lookout for danger. keeps a handgun on him at all times, even in parts of the world where its illegal
he is very intelligent and is a huge nerd for space, like his dad. he spends time designing planes and rockets. he is also a big car fan. he doesnt actually care about the size or modeling of a car, but rather likes to tinker with the engine. his liking for planes and cars lets him bond with both of his parents, and often the three of them will hang out just to work on cars or planes
he has a complicated relationship with his mother. he loves her and still actively sees her, but he finds it difficult to be in the same space as her for long periods of time. they are too similar in all the bad ways and can bring out the worst in each other. they are both still sore over his independence, mostly the fact that neither of them ever tried to reconcile
he also has a complicated relationship with his father. he greatly looks up to his dad, to the point of even idolizing him. he’s his father’s right hand, his sidekick, but often their relationship falls to be too militaristic. texas also takes all criticism from america to heart, which makes it difficult for them to have a normal father-son relationship
javi would die for his sister. as much as she annoys him, she is his baby sister and nobody can touch her. from the minute maya was created,he loved her and tried to be the best big brother for her. he influenced her to make the same decisions that he did, but now that she is older and more powerful, he struggles to still have his role as her big brother
fights with his sister often though. it is almost always about politics or philosophy. he has very black or white thinking, while his sister tries to stay open. when they fight, it is long and messy and their dad has to get involved. they rarely fought when they were little, but now that they work in government it happens a lot
speaks with a slow southern drawl, and will accentuate it to irritate maya or his mom. santi and alfred will have long, slow conversations in southern accents to piss people off
speaks very well mannered in spanish. he will go from texan slang thats barely english to eloquent spanish
an incredible dancer. will often compete in traditional mexican dancing competitions
always in a cowboy hat and/ or boots. on special occasions he will wear both
a real cowboy and country boy. he doesnt spend a lot of time in cities and prefers to be alone
his independent streak can be too strong at times, and he never lets people take care of him. if he’s at another person’s home, he’ll pay for his own groceries and makes his own food. if someone else is feeding him, he’ll pay for the groceries. it can be a pain when alfred wants him and cali to work together

PART 1
My assigned piece of art was Georgia O'Keefe's 1919 piece named Music in Pink and Blue II.
O'Keefe based a lot of her paintings on the idea that music could be expressed as something visual.
O'Keefe would mention music in her art titles not only because of the reason mentioned, but also because of her belief in the strong emotions visual art can convey without representative subject matter.
The painting was made while O'Keefe was beginning to learn about Modernism, more specifically the exhibitions in Alfred Stieglitz's Gallery.
O'Keefe was particularly fascinated with flowers, making over 200 paintings of them.
Financial struggles, mental health issues, and worsening eyesight contributed to O'Keefe quitting painting multiple times. However, her passion for art would always bring her back.
The way I perceived O'Keefe's piece definitely changed after I did research on her because I learned about her true motivations and passions behind her art. At first, all I saw was a painting with many soft colors traveling in two different directions but I couldn't interpret much more from it. After, I began seeing the similarities to the design of a flower which makes the painting make a lot more sense. I can also see the musical inspiration in the painting, with the light colors and smooth strokes making me think of a calm, uplifting song with a 'chill vibe' to it.
PART 2
Tumblr media
This is a clock that hangs in my living room wall that me and my family brought with us from Brazil. It has a painting of a famous bridge called Hercílio Luz that is located in the city of Florianópolis, which is the very last Brazilian city I lived in before moving to the United States. It is painted on a clay plate and locally made. The bottom writing says, "Memory of Florianópolis" and that's exactly what it is. I find the painting very beautiful and it is extra special to me because I would see that bridge almost everyday back when I lived there. PART 3
A little bit about myself is that I am 17 years old. I am a male and use he/him pronouns. I was born in Brazil and lived there until 2016. I am half caucasian from my mom's side and a mix of Brazilian indian and Portuguese from my dad's side. My favorite things to do are to watch soccer and keep up with it, go to the gym, and go out with friends. I am not a member of any organized group at the minute but I used to play for a competitive soccer team as early as last school year. I work at Winn-Dixie as a cashier. I would say that the thing that makes me unique is my ability to put all of my energy into what I am passionate about and going above and beyond to be the best at it. At the moment this passion is the gym and I have been pouring my heart out into it.
