A voice cries out:
In the desert prepare the way of the LORD!
Make straight in the wasteland a highway for our God!
Then the glory of the LORD shall be revealed,
and all people shall see it together;
for the mouth of the LORD has spoken.

He's got a rumbly in his tumbly that only 𝖑𝖎𝖛𝖎𝖓𝖌 𝖈𝖗𝖊𝖆𝖙𝖚𝖗𝖊𝖘 can satisfy.
JOKE-OGRAPHY: John is out of his mind. AUTHOR'S NOTE: This is yet another Tomics Resurrection where I've taken an ancient comic of mine and redone the art in a slightly updated style.  This one was actually Young John the Baptist's Tomics debut, so it was before I settled on a pattern for his hair or a color for his tunic.  I was, however, surprised to see that I'd drawn him without shoes in the first comic when the joke about him not knowing how to fasten sandals came in his second comic.  Past Tom must've had them both planned from the start.  What a genius.  Here's the original for reference:

Happy memorial of Lazarus, Martha, and Mary of Bethany!
___
JOKE-OGRAPHY: 1. This cartoon features Jesus, His cousin John (the Baptist), and His friends Lazarus, Martha, and Mary (of Bethany) as children.  It's possible that the family from Bethany didn't meet Jesus until later in His life, but I've taken creative liberties so Jesus has more childhood friends in my cartoons, and until someone definitively proves that this is historically inaccurate by digging up Jesus's diary or sending a satellite 2000 lightyears away to videotape His life from beginning to end, I'll continue to do so with impunity and gall. 2. Lazarus is known for being woken from death by Jesus when they're adults, so I usually portray him as sleepy, hence John calling him "Lazy Lazarus". 3. Mary is known as a more open and spiritual character, hence "Merry Mary". 4. Martha is known for being faithful but a little too serious, over-focused on chores and work, hence "Mirthless Martha". 5. Martha takes her nickname as an insult because it implies she has no sense of humor.  She says she "eats jokes for breakfast", implying that she enjoys them, but when she tries to tell a joke to prove it, she butchers it (i.e. ruins it) by forcing herself to laugh before she's said the punchline. 6. John jokes that, by saying she eats jokes for breakfast, Martha must've meant she butchers jokes like one might butcher a pig to have bacon for breakfast.  Martha is too embarrassed to come up with a witty retort.
