Just curious, how come you orphaned your fics? (Sorry if you made a post about it and I missed it.)

Hey anon! I orphaned my fics because I deleted my AO3 account. I knew I had a lot of readers who would be sad if the works were gone forever, so orphaning was the obvious choice for me.

As for why I deleted my AO3... let's just say some big names and their ilk back in the day were making the twitter part of the fandom an absolutely vitriolic place to be with their stupid 'canon dynamics only' brigade, it was giving me so much anxiety I was having trouble sleeping, and my experience was unfortunately irreparably soured... especially after the acephobic bullshit I saw in my last days there.

plus, right around that time I had three deaths in the family for three consecutive months in a row and I was just done. I burnt out hard, and that overlapped into my offline life in ways that are still affecting me.

That AO3 account—which I had made specifically to post works for mdzs off main—was my last true tether to the fandom and I needed to sever it. My twitter is still up, but I haven't been there in months and likely never will again, or if I do, it'll be to deactivate that as well.

I'm grateful for the friends I made in the fandom, and I'm still in contact with a lot of them on discord and here. So I'm mostly gone, but not into the aether, ya know? :)

I did read more of my pinned fics but okay. this one. like I get the appeal of wwx surviving nightless but like acting like that would solve everything is very ?????? like you still have the grief/trauma, his relationship to his brother, being able to see jin ling, WEN NING is still imprisoned, jgy would go on to murder and lie and everything else, so the idea that the story would be wrapped up nearly just bc wwx lived and got together w lwj is so oversimplifying the plot and world idk. wwx would never have gotten exonerated if jgys crimes hadn't come to light and even then he still would not have been left alone as long as clan leaders like jgs wanted his power. there needed to be that timespan in between. in plenty of people's minds, dying was the only way he could have paid for his crimes- and he did pay it. Its complicated! I didnt want him to die either obviously but a fix-it that ignores everything that makes canon complex and difficult and a tragedy is just not interesting to me

also the sex scenes were laughable and the characterizations/plot were close enough to the novel to be annoying. so not a rec, although the writing flowed well and the concept was interesting

“Speak,” Lan Wangji demands, but he doesn’t sound too sure all of a sudden, doesn’t seem too happy with the proceedings, and Jiang Cheng does rather enjoy the feeling of triumph it brings him.

“I am innocent. I did not kill any demonic cultivators, nor did I torture them.”

His voice rings out in the courtyard because everyone is silent for two seconds, but then chaos erupts. The voices calling him a liar are the kinder ones, and Jiang Cheng shakes his head at them.

“And I have proof,” he continues, raising his voice so that it carries over the others.

“What?” Jiang Cheng asks, because for once he is in no immediate danger of being murdered by the other Sects and Jiang Cheng really doesn’t think that look is fair.

“What? What did I do now?” Jiang Cheng wants to know because he was asleep! There is no way he could have done something to upset Jiang Xiuying like this!

“I don’t even know where to start,” Jiang Xiuying says and starts to pace Jiang Cheng’s room, without giving any thought to the fact that this is Jiang Cheng’s bedroom and he really shouldn’t be here.

Well, Jiang Cheng is not going to say that to him, because with the mood Jiang Xiuying is in right now it wouldn’t go over well for Jiang Cheng, Sect Leader or not. Not that he actually cares anyway.

It’s Jiang Xiuying after all.

It’s hard to come by lately, as it is entirely seasonal and only grown in a small spot in Sect Leader Yao’s territory, and after everything that happened at the Cloud Recesses a few months back, he already mentally said goodbye to it.

He wouldn’t be getting any more supplies from Sect Leader Yao after all, so this is more than surprising.

This is the extent of mercy that Yu Ziyuan could give a child.

With this, she'll raise her children without having to deal with a brat that brings trouble where he goes according to her visions of her alternate life.
