Something we have in our inner world I would like to talk about that other systems may have, too:
We have creatures in our inner world called shadow. They are locked up in the basement most of the time and guarded by our memory gatekeeper.
A bit from our inner world species encyclopedia:
(Purple is edited/added text, not in our encyclopedia)
"Shadows are creatures who lack any kind of form or personality. They are a type of fragments (alters without a personality, only made to hold trauma), which split off of alters and hold one traumatic event that alter was incapable of handling on their own. They replay it over and over again and may act it out on alters. Think of them as phantom ghosts who relive their death over and over again and can only see that, even if they are in a different location than their death...All of them, or at least 98% of them, are persecutor fragments. They are incapable of any emotions except anger, sadness, and any other they have felt during the trauma they hold. You cannot kill them since they're not material and do not have a shape or form, they can only materialize when trying to hurt someone physically.
In simpler terms: shadows are memories. Every single one is a memory. They can't die, don't die, they put you in episodes of reliving the traumatic event they hold (meaning being near them would put you in a blackput flashback of that trauma, even if it wasn'tyours to begin with)...Shadows don't like lights, a metaphor to “light at the end of the tunnel.”"
There is only one shadow who is a fully developed alter, and they were the first shadow to exist. They split off of another alter and hold a lot of their memories, although we're not sure how memories work between them (they are good friends). After making the first shadow, our brain decided to create them as fragments further, although reasons for that are unknown.
Anyone else experiences that? /gq

Random differences between alters:
Using we/us vs me/i
How they take off shirts
Emoji usage
Which way they lie in bed
How they journal, some do disconnected lists some do literal hour by hour run downs
Layout in notes
How they shampoo their hair (someone uses only a shampoo bar thing and refuses anything else)
Typing! Funny to look over accounts where we present as a singlet and there's clear differences
Mint types (someone can't stand the berry mints others love it)
Bookmarks vs none vs dog earring pages
Likes K-pop vs 0 interest whatsoever
Lights on when sleeping vs pitch black
Can't sit still vs would rather sob than move
Never charges phone vs cries if it's under 80%
Preference for back pack vs tote bag vs nothing
Cannot throw things out vs loves too
Dancing in public
Feel free to add on to it!! These are just some random things we noticed -anon

(OSDD self-dx) Idk when it started happening but when i found out i was prual was "wait, what do you mean its not normal to have someone else in my brain be online then me?" Yeah, one of our alters job is lirrealty to manage the things we do online
Part of me wishes we had someone to handle this space - it can be hard to log on and see "you've" started a fight with someone, or reblogged things to incorrect blogs. I imagine it's not all that fun, disorder wise, though!
Thank you so much for sharing <3

System Quirks!
system quirk time? ohhh um let's see...this is more of a funny story than a quirk, but one of our members got her name when (at the beginning of therapy, when we thought we had cptsd-type structural dissociation) our therapist asked us to name the part (looking for "the part who..." sort of thing), and we responded with a real name.
Oh that shouldn’t be funny, but that’s funny. Haha! I’m kinda glad I knew about my system fully before going to therapy - I’m not sure naming my depression “Debra” was going to make my therapists cozy.

Going back to what you said before about the country that PAFL takes place in being the worst of the USSR and modern federal Russia mixed together, ¿in that case does that imply that it's kinda like a dystopia? ¿Or just a developing country?
Real life federal russia IS a dystopia lmao

There's a lot of lines in Amongst Our Weapons that make me want to wave my arms around and yell incoherently about Peter and Nightingale and how far they've come and how much they mean to each other, but right now the one I want to yell about the most is this one from right at the end:
Tumblr media
Image text: 'The wider the base, the greater the stability of the building,' said Nightingale. 'You taught me that.'
Because, like. Peter wanted to be an architect. The thing he always wanted to do was to build things. And look what he's built! He hasn't just rebuilt the Folly as it was, he's built something modern and completely new out of its constituent parts and he's done it by caring about people and being interested in how things work and by what Beverly jokingly calls 'compulsive networking'.
And everything he's done for the Folly, he's done for Nightingale on a personal level too.
Nightingale was So isolated when Peter first met him. His police colleagues didn't want much to do with him, his social circle seemed to consist of Molly and Dr Walid and not much more, he was completely out of touch with the modern world. And to his credit, he was the one who decided to take on an apprentice, but that was pretty much all he was planning to do. Train up a replacement for himself in case he got killed, pass on the Forms and Wisdoms properly, keep the status quo going.
But he chose Peter, and suddenly he's got an apprentice who wants to study the science behind magic and modernise the Folly's record keeping and work out better ways to liaise with other police and fundamentally Make Changes. Nightingale ends up with all these connections through Peter, to Beverley and the other Thames girls, to Lesley, to Abigail, eventually to the rest of Peter's family, to other police like Guleed and Stephanopoulos and unfortunately for him Seawoll... He has people he can rely on, and who choose to rely on him, and not just for magic -I especially love how Peter's mum eventually starts using him to babysit Peter's dad, and the fact that he helps Abigail's family with her brother. He's not alone anymore, and he goes from just living to genuinely thriving.
And it's all down to Peter, and what the two of them have built together. In fact, they've built something so significant that in a few years Nightingale isn't going to be necessary anymore. He's been Britain's Last Official Wizard for seventy years, all the weight of that tradition resting on his shoulders alone, and in a handful of years Peter has helped him to build something that'll be able to take the weight instead if he wants it to. There are people who can help do everything he's been doing alone and more, so finally he can think about what he actually wants for himself. (And don't even get me started on his arc re: teaching and discovering that it's what he wants to do for the rest of his life, I Will start yelling even more.)
And it's Peter who's taught him to let other people take the weight. That you can build something stable and lasting if you're willing to share the load. The wider the base, the greater the stability of the building.
Not bad for a wannabe architect who can't draw, huh?

speaking of megamind and weird alien anatomy, i was looking through some of my old headcanon doodles yesterday
i realized that one of my concepts was that instead of megamind's head actually housing an enormous brain (which irl would cost an ENORMOUS amount of energy to maintain with diminishing returns), he actually has a fairly human-ish sized brain.
instead, his skull is somewhat concave and most of the flesh in his forehead is actually adipose tissue similar in structure and function to a dolphin's melon. and also his sinuses are enormous and extensive and they have phonic lips similar to a dolphin's in addition to his larynx, so he can make dolphin-like clicks/whistles that sound like they're coming either out of his nose or through the center of his forehead.
Tumblr media
the phonic lips are circled in red. as you can see i gave him quite a lot of them, so he can probably make a whole bunch of weird alien sounds.
i can't decide whether i want his melon to be squishy like a beluga or more rigid like most other dolphins. logically, the more rigid melon probably makes the most sense, but the idea of megamind having a squishy head is just so FUNNY to me.

The incredibly funny thing about bird alters in our system is that whenever someone touches them, we feel it irl, and start wiggling our back like:
W h o t o u c h e d m y w i n g s ?

just a reminder that if you use a typing quirk you're inherently ableist. Yes, you can control it be for real. there is no reason for you to use one. If you acknowledge that typing quirks are harmful and still use one you're ableist and a fucking cunt. okay, you do that but you translate it. woo hoo. That means you know that they suck and you decide to use it anyways cause you can't bear to type actual words. translations still make it harder for visually impaired people. translations have to come before the quirk. it adds an extra step of having to figure out where the quirk is and stopping the screenreader before it reaches that. but none of you care about that cause you don't actually want to listen to disabled people you can type normally. i can't see normally.

System quirks I've noticed in our system:
The three main layer's that front all have unique ways to front. 1. Is a room with windows that look out and a control panel thing (they had a VR set instead at one point but changed it back), 2. Someone holds a flower but can be anywhere in the innerworld and 3. Is a room in a ship, also the innerworld here is based on a fictional place while the others are not.
In layer 3 (almost) everyone has a device that looks like a smart watch that lets them talk to other headmates in 3.
When the body gets sick or injured so does the host. The co-host (me :D) does too but not as badly. No one else does unless fronting and as soon as they leave they're fine.
10 out of 11 of the frequent fronter's right now are introject's, 9 of them being from the same source but mostly different timelines.
We have a headmate which is just a sentient chair. Its just like everyone else but its a chair.
The past 3 hosts have all this in common: 1. Have adopted a little and 2. Have had their innerworld body change over time while being the host, all of them started as human and 2/3 are hybrids now, the 1 that's not probably will become one. I also adopted a little (with the host) but I already am a human/dog hybrid.
Our host's and frequent fronter's change every few months - once a year. That means it's hard to keep hobbies, interest's, friends and many other things for long periods of time.
This is all very interesting and helping me realize more!
Your fronting situation sounds very interesting. Also, your comments about being sick just made me realize - I get sick innerworld when I front while our physical body is sick. Maybe it's a sign of healing that we're all a little sick at the moment innerworld (since I have a bit of a cold right now).
I'm grateful not to have too many introjects, since the two I do have struggle some. Your headmate who's a sentient chair sounds interesting too! I know some folks with sentient inanimate objects as headmates!
Good luck with your hobbies, interests, and friends. We're lucky enough to not have a host, so we can focus on our own interests as well as collective ones :)
Thanks for sharing with me!!

System quirks: Autism gives us "full sets" of alters. We have almost all of the main cast of the Sonic the Hedgehog games. We're the current frequent fronters. Our Sonic is a sub-system of various Sonics, including a few meme versions. (@fog-system)
Fuck yeah!!
We’re an autistic system too. I find it so odd how we have so few fictives - 3/12, and one of them doesn’t even have a proper source. We hyperfixate on indie horror games (FNAF my beloved/beloathed) and I’m shocked we have none from those.
It’s interesting to see our differences!!!

those who slither in the dark fucking wish they could get the attention and nuance in writing that the loptr church did in fe4 alone. which is just insane honestly.
"oh but three houses has unreliable narration-" my friend what do you think forseti is. you think the world's #1 dad is a source of objective facts? the guy tells you all earth dragons are the devil in the final chapter during a period of time where medeus is helping the divine dragons out. it's just lmao.
