#Systemic risk

Should you trust the people who brought you this disaster to control the systemic risk that may be coming? Where pray tell are the regulaters and people who think? Do you think it might be a good idea to talk to the people who knew in advance we were and are headed for another disaster?

What Will Happen When Banks Go Bust? Bank Runs, Bail-Ins and Systemic Risk
Financial podcasts have been featuring ominous headlines lately along the lines of “Your Bank Can Legally Seize Your Money” and “Banks Can STEAL Your Money?! Here’s How!” The reference is to “bail-ins:” the provision under the 2010 Dodd-Frank Act allowing Systemically Important Financial Institutions (SIFIs, basically the biggest banks) to bail in or expropriate their creditors’ money in the…

I get that calling white lotus lbh a sticky little 'sheep' is a canon translation and stuck in the fandom now anyway, but I do feel the intended spirit of the original word wasn't the sheeple/dumb herd animal that's more common in the western world, but instead something actually conveying sweetness, innocence, purity and youth - lamb.
Famous for being utterly adorable and following around their mothers, gambolling in sunny meadows, curly white wool shining.
And NOW we can talk about black sheep/wolf in sheep's clothing metaphors.

The ghost distribution system has given me brain rot. I volunteer and foster for a cat rescue and have said the phrase "it's fine we're all strays here" to several animals an now all I can think of is him over hearing that and further solidifying "yep I'm here forever now"
God that kills me.
"It's ok baby, we're all strays here"
It hits Ghost between the ribs, sticks like it's barbed. You're talking to one of the neighborhood cats but it doesn't matter, it may as well be him. He watches you stroke your fingers over the tabby's head, scratching lightly behind its ears as it chomps greedily at the kibble you set out. Crouched and resting your cheek against your palm, your smile is so gentle. You're beautiful when you smile. All strays. He hadn't considered that in your infinite kindness, your ceaseless compassion, you could be like him. It didn't fit, somehow, that another stray might take him in, that the hand reaching out to him might have been looking for salvation as well.
Ghost supposes even god must have to beg for worship. Why else would they send angels to shepherds? Send prophets and evangelists? Do you beg at the same doorway, staring from the other side of the warmth and hoping your worshipers can find you in the cold? When you saved him, did you know how deeply his devotion would run? Did you know to be scared of it? Did you know he'd stay?
Did you know he'd come back?

Social transition being seen (by some) as this super easy thing that isn't as hard as real transitioning (medical) is bullshit. Be critical of the idea that there are some trans people who just "have it easy" because they are trans or because they are trans in ways you may not be.
Social transition is just as difficult, hard, and rewarding as medical transition. Maybe it is not as hard for some, sure, but that is not the same as thinking that social transition is inherently easier or lesser. If you're socially transitioning, your voice still matters.
#trans#transgender#lgbt#lgbtq#ftm#mtf#nonbinary#not to mention that so many people DO want to medically transition but *can't*#so it can be even harder for some when they feel social transition is their only option when they don't want it to be#but social transition carries its own risks and challenges and again rewards#and i've seen this idea plenty where it's like 'oh you don't GET my struggles because you're SOCIALLY transitioning'#and while yes i am different than some trans people to say i'm struggling *more* if i'm the only one medically transitioning is??? huh????#i don't buy into this idea that social transition is never scary because you don't have the boot of the medical system on your back#(though non-med or pre-med transitioning people still face issues in medical settings so even THEN we aren't seperate)#like there's very few ways you can separate my issues as a medically-transitioning person and the issues of somebody who isn't...#...and by that i mean there's few ways you can separate our issues so that mine trumps theirs or that i'm seen as like... trans but More#does that make sense?#medical transitioning is important but that doesn't mean it is *more* important or that only *it* is important#you can support us who are medically transitioning without erasing the experiences and struggles of other trans people#and plus... so many of us who are medically transitioning NOW are the people who socially transitioned THEN#and dare i say i despised social transition more because of how hard it was? medical transition has been (more or less) easier...#...in that i can just *be* now

im calling it now the whole saving the eggs if x team wins thing is a lie made up to cause interpersonal conflict and chaos among the islanders in order to isolate them and fuck up their close knit relationships back home . like they’re going to finish these two weeks n the quirky eye of sauron from 1948 is going to be like ‘oopsies ^-^ i may have lied ^-^ my bad guys ^-^’ and the islanders are gonna have to pick up the pieces of their shattered relationships

Bloomberg just disclosed that BofA thinks systemic risk is the next problem! Talk about late to the table or shall we say masters of the obvious?

i was very surprised at how difficult it was to find (good) resources for learners that accurately describe how 部首 (in English we translate this to be the "radical") work in 漢字 (kanji). i pulled these from a very comprehensive guide of kanji from おじゃちゃん, a native speaker who is also a language teacher and if youre interested in learning more, you should check out her full overview here.
to a beginner this might not be as useful - but when you get deep enough into japanese i think it's worth it to understand how kanji is actually used by native speakers. understanding how the radical works can also help you guess at meanings and recognize common patterns that may make memorizing kanji easier
