Fanon Brothers Wittebane Week: Day 3

ANGST. It was far harder than it should have been.

Sorry for the different quality of art for day 3. I STRUGGLED too much the whole day before deleting my original idea and starting from scratch.

Some thoughts on Fanon Philips thinking.. "Human is mesurement of everything" would be his words I think. He thinks of himself too high, even if he DID accomplished a lot. Next step is to defeat death itself. Further than that is to become litteral God or something idk

Seren Clawthorne!

Great great great great grandmother to Eda and Lilith, Seren Clawthorne was born into the humble palismen carving clan of the Clawthornes. The family business had been a part of her since she was very young, first charged with sowing and caring for palistrom trees, and eventually tasked with expanding their business elsewhere to other parts of The Isles. She has a love for the sea and adores sailing to different parts of the Isles and discovering new things, as she hates being cooped up in the wood shop back home.

One day, her life changes as she docks her boat near a cliff where a small cottage is situated. Off to gather more food, a curious human ventures too close to her boat, and Seren mistakes him for a bandit and knocks him out with a rock. Coming to, the human clears up the misunderstanding with her as Seren apologetically tends to his wound. They wind up bonding when she decides to take the human on a short sail to make up for attacking him, and their lives from then on intertwine.

Seren finds herself coming back to the cottage more and more and talking with this human, discussing their love of sailing together and bonding over a mutual desire to be free. Seren often stays even late at night, showing the human the star maps she’s made and star gazing with the man.

Eventually, the human brings his brother, who is less than enthused with the prospect his own brother is falling for a witch. Seren struggles to warm up to the man, but eventually he gives her a chance after she winds up saving his brother and proving herself more trust worthy to him. Seren later goes on to having a child with this human, the first ever witch to mate with a human, and continue the Clawthorne and Wittebane bloodline.

Seren means ‘star’ and ‘sailing mast’.

"A Curse of Feathers and Mud, A Betrayal of Blood"

The history were destined to repeat itself fandom though. Lilith was not the first who though that cursing her sibling will be reasonable solution to a problem.

But WHY would William curse Phillip?

In the It could have been different" thread on Belos Simp Coven I got two ideas for the underlying motive for this. But I remember only one of them. So the second will stay a mystery for yall.

William saw his little brother slowly drifting away from him, finilaly finding the place to belong, WITHOUT the help of older brother. Before that, Phillip was somewhat dependent on William, being the only person Pip could talk to without shame and the one who could help Pip to "find a place in the society" (aka "helping Will in his job and that is it").

Before Boiling Isles, it was the mental problems that made Philip feel need for Will. But now, since Will is far from exiting about every magic and demon stuff.. there should be a PHYSICAL need.

He will be there. He will help. That how it always was and it is how it is going to be.

"The literature teacher, Philip Wittebane and his nephew, Hunter Wittebane" - Some random student from the school.

Philip Wittebane ended up in the human realm by accident along with his nephew, Hunter; With no way to return, Philip took his name back and began a new life in the city.

Philip became a literature teacher, specializing in various scientific areas; he's his nephew's doctor because he'll never risk them finding out the truth.

Philip has been aging due to the absence of magic that keeps him young and alive; he resigned himself to it when he noticed how his appearance changed over the years.

Living in the human realm forced Philip to hide information about magic from his nephew, using a magical jewel to disguise it; this didn't need much energy and kept it hidden his appearance.

Hunter is Luz's best friend, being that they are neighbors, they spent a lot of time playing together, and he was going to accompany Luz to summer camp, when they notice Owlbert and start chasing him.

Camila arrives to see how both children disappeared behind the door and asks Philip what's happening; somehow they manage to go to the Boiling Isles without the portal.

"So, you're the ruler of this place" - Camila Noceda.
