When I think of all the worries That people seem to find And how they're in a hurry To complicate their minds By chasing after money And dreams that can't come true I'm glad that we are different We've better things to do May others plan their future I'm busy loving you
One, two, three, four Sha-la-la-la-la-la, live for today (Hey, hey, hey) Sha-la-la-la-la-la, live for today And don't worry 'bout tomorrow, hey Sha-la-la-la-la-la, live for today Live for today
We were never meant to worry The way that people do And I don't need to hurry As long as I'm with you We'll take it nice and easy And use my simple plan You'll be my lovin' woman I'll be your lovin' man We'll take the most from living Have pleasure while we can
Two, three, four Sha-la-la-la-la-la, live for today (Hey, hey, hey) Sha-la-la-la-la-la, live for today And don't worry 'bout tomorrow, hey Sha-la-la-la-la-la, live for today Live for today
Baby, I need to feel you inside of me I got to feel you deep inside of me Baby, please come close to me I got to have you now, please Please, please Gimme some-a loving Gimme some-a loving To gimme some-a loving To gimme some-a loving Baby, gimme some-a loving Gimme some-a loving Got to have all your loving Gimme some-a loving I need all your loving Give me some love now I need all your loving

Starts With G, Part 2
The Grassroots - Midnight Confessions / Who Will You Be Tomorrow?
"Midnight Confessions" is an absolute classic, and this is one of those lucky discs that has emerged from the depths of time in near pristine sonic condition. The B-Side has a truly excellent groove to match the A-Side in power.
The Grassroots - Della Linda / Hot Bright Lights
Fun historical note; the song is called "Bella Linda," but some of the original pressings have the "Della" misspelling, and that's what we are looking at here. Again, the sound is generally well-preserved, and the A-Side is both pretty interesting. "Hot Bright Lights" is a little more of a sedate, acid rock kind of deal. Pretty good.
Norman Greenbaum - Spirit in the Sky / Milk Cow
I imagine this one is in just about any decently sized 45 collection you'll find in the world. It sounds pretty decent in sound, but oddly different from what I remember from the digital versions I've heard. Can't put my finger on it. As for "Milk Cow," I think it's clear why this was not the massive, generation-defining hit that "Spirit in the Sky" was. Kind of charming, though.
The Guess Who - Share the Land / Bus Rider
The sound is pretty solid on side A, just a little touch of fuzz on the edge of sounds. "Bus Rider," which I know less well, is a rockin' anthem for the oppressed working man, and I think it sounds pretty cool.
The Guess Who - Hand Me Down World / Runnin' Down the Street
Another great sounding disc, with an excellent lead vocal that I didn't know well, and some very cool guitar work in the chorus. The Guess Who are honestly kind of underappreciated! The B-Side is a nice little waltzy thing, but not my favorite.

You cannot replicate or recreate Barbenheimer. Barbenheimer was organic, spontaneous because people saw that these two movies--bright, colorful, comedic Barbie and dark, moody Oppenheimer--were being released on the same day and ran with it. Barbenheimer was lightning in a bottle.
Execs will try to replicate it because money. But it won't work. Consumers will see right through the astroturfed marketing, and whatever the execs try will fail. We must let Barbenheimer be a one-and-done for the sake of the movie industry.

Friendly reminder that A Land for All is an excellent organization that is still, even now, working to create an equitable resolution to the conflict. Please check them out:
I also strongly recommend reading through their full proposal here.

I guess all I'm going to say is that it is a bit crazy how many people are willing to bend over backwards to justify why we should be buying the new Epic Mickey game. you know?
listen I am incredibly excited for the game and I've wanted this for years and years and years. Ok. But the money is still going to Disney. It's branded by Disney, it's got their name on it, it has their characters-- they own it, and they're not letting the game get by without squeezing it for profit.
just. have some compassion. don't use your money to fund Palestinian genocide, and don't encourage other people to do it either. donate esims

I will say, choosing to make your way through a bunch of point-and-click games on itch.io will single-handedly remind you that creativity is not "dead" or "corporatized" but actually, we as a species are still amazing, wildly inventive, and largely unhinged; if you claim otherwise, you're just not looking at the right bits.

OTTERSLIP. man. at first his death made me laugh because of how he just barely outlived Silverbelly, outright refused to kick the bucket until she did, then i thought about it a little more and. Silverbelly died outside of camp. if i recall correctly the text was something like "Silverbelly takes a walk out of camp and is later found dead, a peaceful smile on her face". so it made me think about Otterslip possibly having something to do with it. eventually i decided no, he didn't, but i do think that it's fairly likely that Yewberry would have that thought as well. and maybe he didn't come to the same conclusion i did.
and where did Littlekit, a one month old child, get turkey feathers, you ask? don't worry about it

A.2.4 Are anarchists in favour of “absolute” liberty?
No. Anarchists do not believe that everyone should be able to “do whatever they like,” because some actions invariably involve the denial of the liberty of others.
For example, anarchists do not support the “freedom” to rape, to exploit, or to coerce others. Neither do we tolerate authority. On the contrary, since authority is a threat to liberty, equality, and solidarity (not to mention human dignity), anarchists recognise the need to resist and overthrow it.
The exercise of authority is not freedom. No one has a “right” to rule others. As Malatesta points out, anarchism supports “freedom for everybody … with the only limit of the equal freedom for others; which does not mean … that we recognise, and wish to respect, the ‘freedom’ to exploit, to oppress, to command, which is oppression and certainly not freedom.” [Errico Malatesta: His Life and Ideas, p. 53]
In a capitalist society, resistance to all forms of hierarchical authority is the mark of a free person — be it private (the boss) or public (the state). As Henry David Thoreau pointed out in his essay on “Civil Disobedience” (1847)
“Disobedience is the true foundation of liberty. The obedient must be slaves.”

Hello there, I am messaging to ask you to promote an initiative that directly saves Palestinian lives. It is called Operation Olive Branch, which is a collective effort that verifies and compiles the funding campaigns of Palestinians in Gaza who need funds to support their wellbeing. Many of these involve needing money to cross the Egyptian border, afford living necessities and to get urgent healthcare for vulnerable family members. There are families with pregnant women, infants, elderly, sick, and Gazan heroes who are all in dire need of assistance. Since these efforts rely entirely on donations, spreading awareness to the Pro-Palestinian community is invaluable to this initiative. This is incredibly urgent given the possibility of the Egypt border closing and Israel threatening to cut Palestinians off from global banking. Please act immediately. More information and the spreadsheet for all the families in need of help can be found on operationolivebranch.org Thank you so much for your time, and all of your hard work in this movement.
They have links to all their social media accounts on their website, which is currently being built. This is their instagram page:
I have stumbled across Operation Olive Branch a few times here. For folks who are able to support and share please do -this can help immensely. This is an incredibly extensive spreadsheet you can access on their page with donation/gofundme and respective social media links for the families/people organizing:
I will post as many donation links as I can from now on from Operation Olive Branch. Thank you, again, for sharing this here. And as always, Free Palestine.

no you guys by the series finale years and years probably decades down the line after the hubbub and awards and stars and success of the bear and their own respective careers syd and carmy are gonna return to their sheridan catering and beef of chicagoland roots. there’s gonna be a hole in the wall spot (as much as two superstar chefs can have a hole in the wall spot) in some other corner of chicago serving unique and tasteful and good yet simple food. people food. family food buddies food lunch break food tired summer heat hunger food. carmys vintage denim is framed up on the wall. family photos. sydney embroiders names of their regulars on a tapestry. people come down in groves every single day with lines looping around blocks. sometimes it’s quiet and it’s nice too because their daughter does her homework at one of the tables and looks over at them every so often to ask for a refill on her peach iced tea and a pat on the head from her dad. marcus visits from copenhagen as much as he can but it’s always on random days and on short notice but his desserts are coveted so the restaurant has to make a group chat with all the guests who wish to be notified. it’s like on whatsapp or something because not everyone has an iPhone. tina and ebra eventually retire from the bear and they each have a grandchild who come in during summer break and learn under the renowned adamu-berzatto duo (with pay). richie is in love with the bear and the upscale and rigorous and intentional pace of service but syd and carmys hole in the wall sells tshirts ala the beef and richie buys like fifteen “one for each day of the week” “I don’t think that adds up” “well I might get mayo or some shit on it” “you’re gonna get mayo on it EIGHT times?” sugar and her little family come for dinner every week and they all get the exact same thing every single time even their kids it’s almost annoying because like pick something else!this one gets three Michelin stars its first year. reviewers rave articles and more profiles get written. a netflix show features them for an episode. more and more awards for the restaurant and both chefs. its nice and syd and carmy are grateful for all of it. but theres this group of old ladies who come in after bingo on wednesdays who pull them out of the kitchen and pass on their own secret family recipes always handwritten on some kind of ripped paper or a napkin in swirly old timey cursive that syd and carmy can barely read. in these moments the blood red michelin star plaque by the door almost pales in comparison. almoooost.
