Alright lads (gender neutral), time to start some controversy.

Totally normal and unoriginal take: I think Marinette and Adrien are relatively equal in physical strength. (Not who would win in a fight, the show has shown multiple times that it would be LB, I’m just saying realistically, in terms of exerting one’s muscles).

I often hear arguments that Marinette would be super strong due to being Ladybug, but the same should apply to Adrien, right? Sure he gets blipped out of some fights, but there’s also plenty of fights where he’s present (still physically active) but mind-controlled by the villain of the week. Furthermore, there’s plenty of episodes where Chat Noir has to hold off the villain while Ladybug focuses on problem solving (which requires a lot less physical exertion). Therefore, if Marinette is strong because she’s Ladybug, that alone cannot justify her being stronger than Adrien due to him also being a superhero (her being stronger than her usually-civilian classmates however, I can easily get behind).

I suppose if we’re using the argument that she’s stronger due to doing things like lifting bags of flour in the bakery, then maybe, but the show only has her occasionally helping her parents in the bakery (not that it’s her fault she has other stuff to do, just saying that it doesn’t fully work as a reason for her being physically stronger), and even then it’s usually managing the counter and sometimes baking some of the goods.

There’s also technically the diet factor, as people will say that she’s stronger due to getting to eat normal foods that build muscles better, while Adrien eats smaller meals due to being a model. However, from personal experience (I have a pretty unimpressive diet and sometimes forget to eat three meals a day), my scrawny noodle arms can lift a surprisingly amount to most people, so I don’t think his diet would keep him from being able to do muscle-intensive activities. If anything, I maintain that Marinette and Adrien would have equal physical abilities, Marinette would have more muscle mass (if they didn’t insist on giving her toothpick arms to be more marketable), but Adrien’s muscles would be more pronounced/defined (skinny people’s muscles usually stick out more due to having low amounts of body fat).

On the one hand, I get the “haha little girl wearing pink is actually an absolute unit and stronger than all the boys” joke, but on the other hand, I think I find the “supermodel is actually as strong as baker” joke even funnier. (Like you mean to tell me that the class would underestimate Marinette, their over-achieving “everyday Ladybug”/class rep, more than Adrien, that one rich boy they’ve known for less than a year and constantly typecast as a helpless damsel in distress? I don’t think so.)

I have notice that you are giving the kwamis different and more uniques personalities. How you imagened their unique emotions and how they react with the holders?

For sure, there are very few instances where the Zodiac Kwami get to show their individualism except for Sass or when they briefly interact with their new holders, so I really grabbed on to any little bit I could see and held tight.

Mullo - In the story of the Chinese Zodiac, the Rat rides the Ox and jumps off at the last minute in order to arrive first, so I thought it'd make sense for Mullo to be mischievous - also because Marinette uses it first for some cheeky misdirection. I got lucky that Mullo turned out to be a bit of a prankster when "Mega Leech" came out.

Stompp - As one of the Leftover 4, Stompp didn't get a lot of expression when they were shown in "PenalTeam", but I kinda ended up working with how calm they were. The way they addressed Chloe not knowing the kwamis names gave her a Disapproving Mother vibe, so I went with them being a nurturer. I picture them wanting to watch over their holder, particularly children ones, and watch them grow into full grown Oxes.

Roarr - So this one was easy cuz they've been very consistent in the show, and since the kwamis default to loud and bratty when they're in Mob Mode (ie, when all the kwamis act in sync instead of in line with their personalities), Roarr was simply a too rambunctious child. An extrovert to the extreme. Their name is very appropriate.

Fluff - This one is pretty established in canon, so I guess I'll just extend my headcanon. Fluff is easily confused and babbles a lot, and I think it's because they're being constantly bombarded with information from so many timelines. Existence is a prison and Fluff just comes across as dumb because all their brain power is overheating from a massive influx of information, so they have nothing else to offer in the Present.

Longg - "Ikari Gozen" makes them out to be a Long Winded Old Man/Woman (depending on the dub lol), but aside from them being pretty polite later, they don't hold on to it. I am. Longg is old as shit and just wants these damn kids to hear out their long ass stories, but they just don't know how to edit because it's been forever since they've been out of the box (a nod to how Dragons are now "mythical"). They don't know how to talk to the youngins anymore.

Sass - Okay, c'mon, we all know Sass. Sass is the only one we know definitively. They're the leader and being level headed and calm is the thing that distinguishes him from the rest. He is mildly cursed like Fluff to recall every remade time line, remembering what happened the other times that needed a second chance, but it's less of a burden than it is for Fluff.

Kaalki - I opted to lean in to her being a Diva, obviously thanks to her attitude in "Startrain". You'd think that'd clash with Max, so the struggle was more about making them work together despite that, so I also gave her a fascination with innovation. She's not very technologically literate, but she's interested in what humans have been able to do, especially when it comes to exploration. But in the end, she's still pretty vain lol.

Ziggy - since they were very upset at how mean Chloe was in "Miracle Queen" as opposed to angry like Stompp and Roarr, I felt Ziggy was probably younger and a bit sensitive. I also leaned into some goat traits, having them eat paper and headbutt Nathaniel.

Xuppu - Xuppu can easily become very annoying, especially in "Destruction" where they're trying to be helpful, but uhhhh...they aren't. So I just stuck with how they were portrayed in their canon debut episode. Like Roarr, Xuppu is very much like A Child, so even in Mob Mode they feel in character - getting into stuff and making a mess.

Orikko - I made them very patient, which you gotta be when your powers are bullshit and you constantly have to give a tutorial on how they work. They could talk all day with their holder trying to find loopholes.

Barkk - So they have two standout moments where they're allowed individuality - in "Furious Fu" and "Risk". In the former, they are stubbornly staying behind to guard the house and the Miracle Box, and in the latter, they're super excited at getting a new holder and getting to "play". So both a guard dog and a puppy. I met in the middle where they DO really want to play, but also want everyone to be as excited as them which takes a little coaxing. Like an Extrovery adopting Introverts.

Daizzi - They're just very sweet. Almost just like Rose but soft spoken. They feel very much but like to focus on the things they like, no matter how simple they are.

In offense to Lila Rossi

O...kay! Am I the only one who sometimes takes offense to Lila's entire existence? Even if she just stands there, looking at her on screen makes me want to grab the nearest pitchfork! So please, allow me to explain why I despise Lila Rossi in Miraculous Canon, and what my delusions say should happen for Season 6 regarding her character! Call it a stich, I'm still doing it because I can!

To kick things off, it's worth establishing what kind of antagonist Lila is supposed to be in the show. She's introduced in the finale of Season 1, Volpina (yes I know some lists have Origins last, but Collector picks up directly after so it's the finale), and from the moment anybody even mentions her, we get the hint that something is fishy. I'm quite sure it's Alya who first approaches Marinette and tells her about this "new girl" who's showed up at school. Apparently, "she" knows famous musicians, is very talented, etcetera. Marinette raises an eyebrow at this, but there's no real reason to question it yet since the audience has already seen that some of those things are true for her as well (see Jagged Stone). All in all, good little bit of foreshadowing and getting people intersted without going overboard.

Then we actually meet Lila in the library with Adrien. She seems pleasant enough, if a little infatuated, but this is Adrien. He has more fangirls that there are ticks on a goat, so he takes it in stride. All in all, Lila is cheery and excitable, happy to spend time with him. Not the most likable character in history, but also not malicious in any way. This is the expected behavior for some random teenager learning she's classmates with a supermodel. And since we get this whole thing from Marinette's point of view, the audience is encouraged to share her suspicions about Lila. We all know how the rest of the episode goes, and I'll get back to this in a sec.

Point is, when Lila first shows up, she seems interesting. Her lies aren't immediately obvious (or at least like 20% plausible given past events), and she appears to be infatuated with Adrien, just like Marinette. Sure, it looks a bit superficial, but who can blame her? We don't know anything about her yet, and it isn't completely outrageous to think that she might be giving out small lies to make herself more popular since she's the "new kid" and all that.

But after Volpina...we don't see her again until Season 3! Excepting Heroes Day Part 2, where she gets re-akumatized into Volpina for the whole illusion thing, I mean. Lila remains a mystery, and so far has been a nuanced character who we have questions about and know to be a cunning liar. Especially since in Volpina, Lila actually is being smart with her lies to Adrien! She plays up her persona of infatuated fangirl and extracts general information about the book he has, and plays off it by giving minimal details and still attracting his interest. It's only once Adrien has shown her the page about the fox heroine that Lila makes up a story about having the Miraculous in her family, and then she immediately goes off to cover her back by buying a fake Fox Miraculous from a "Gabriel" store.

Side note: This is the one and only time we see this happen, and I still have questions as to why Gabriel Agreste is selling jewerly that only someone with the Guardian's Grimoire would know how to design. Dead giveaway, but that's a general plothole in the show, and irrelevant to Lila.

The thing is, I love Lila in Volpina! She actually does manipulate Adrien pretty well, makes sure to subtly get all the information she needs, and then plays her part perfectly, to the point where he's on her side when Ladybug swings by to berate her for lying about having a Miraculous. Granted, Marinette's intense reaction doesn't do her any favors, but nonetheless Lila is actually good at lying in this episode! Now prepare to throw this out the window with Chameleon! Oh, Chameleon! What is even left to say about this episode that the fandom didn't tear to shreds back when it first aired? Welp, doesn't matter! I'm grabbing Hawkmoth's cane and beating the dead horse one last time, just because Lila pissed me off this badly when I re-watched it recently!

I have genuinely researched the lies that Lila spouts out in this episode, and I'm honestly baffled as to why the writing team even put them there? I'd think it takes more effort to think of something this ridiculous rather than a semi-believable lie? Let's break the two most ridiculous ones down real quick. Getting tinitus from being behind a plane engine while it was taking off. Now, I'm assuming Lila also lost a few braincells in this episode, because while while yes, if that were to happen one would have severe hearing damage...we're talking about going completely deaf. Not to mention that you'd have to ignore countless airport security measures to even get there, and that in some countries, it's very much illegal to be on the runway when a plane is taking off. So Lila would have gone completely deaf, forever, not to mention sustained actual injury from being right behind a plane as it's taking off. Do you see why this is so ridiculously unbelievable? And okay, for the sake of argument let's say that people do believe her. Miss Bustier has zero reaction to this information, which would have presumably caused a responsible adult to panic at the idea of a child sustaining such an injury. Clearly, this episode is designed to devour braincells from everyone present.

Then we move onto the moment that still infuriates me, the Napkin Incident™. I'm not going to go into too much detail because we all know the gist. Lila catches a napkin thrown by Marinette with her supposedly "sprained" wrist, and explains the reason she "hurt herself" was to protect Max's eyes from being gouged out! By a napkin, while he's wearing glasses! In addition, Lila blatantly lies about being best friends with Ladybug and having sustained other minor injuries, and all of this makes me honestly upset because I see what they were going for! I can see the vision here!

Lila lying about being best friends with Ladybug to gain Alya's interest! Lila making herself the victim and exploiting Marinette's eagerness to expose her to gather support from her classmates and take away her friends! She even says that's what she plans to do at the end of the episode! But...this never goes anywhere. Lila is almost entirely absent from the remainder of the season, and just...doesn't follow up on this? Instead all we get is Lila getting outrageous lies that require every other character in the room to lose the entirety of their IQ to even be plausible in the slightest. And the plot wants to pretend as if she's a master manipulator when all she does is tell extremely obvious lies that can be very easily disproven!

Even when she pretends Marinette pushed her down the stairs, nobody reacts in the way they should! Bustier and Damocles should have called in the school nurse, or a doctor to check her over, especially since Lila claimed to be in severe pain. It's completely unreasonable for adults to behave they way these two do whenever Lila is involved in anything. My point is that for Lila to be what the show says she is, she needs plot armor. People believe her just because they have to. It's demanded by the script. And it's infuriating!

It would be another thing entirely if Lila slowly approached each and every classmate and systematically inserted herself in situations as the "friend", or used small lies to slowly degrade Marinette's connections with others. She could ensnare Alya with little lies about Ladybug, and then act concerned and worried when Marinette denied everything without any proof (like we already see her do multiple times). And yes, obviously they can't devote another dozen episodes to focus solely on this, but the fact that we never see Lila even try to do it very much undermines her character. The narrative presents her as a master manipulator who pulls the strings from the shadows, and addmittedly she has some good moments like when she frames Marinette for stealing her necklace...but that can easily be disproven by checking security cameras, or by Adrien speaking up. Remember, he was there in Volpina when the necklace was proved a fake, and Lila is using the same lie here.

Not to mention that in each and every case where Lila lies, even in Season 5, the believability of that lie is solely dependant on the sheer incompetence of every (allegedly) responsible adult around her, and the fact that Marinette's classmates are contractually obligated by the script to believe her without a second thought. The problem here is that Lila isn't good at lying. What she says is either outrageous enough to warrant genuine concern if believed (ex: Marinette pushing her down the stairs. No adult would have made this girl walk back up that staircase without first asking if she was hurt and calling in a medical professional) or so plain stupid that it has everyone wondering where their lost braincells may have slipped off to. To give credit where it's due, Lila's manipulation of Chloe in Season 5 is actually pretty great and consistent with what we've been told she's supposed to be.

But...considering that by this point, (regarding Marinette's friends now) Alya knows her best friend is Ladybug, hates Lila, and was clearly right about the girl being a walking red flag...why does it take a DIY bathroom and a literal 300 IQ scheme to prove that Lila has been lying about things? Like, Alya, Adrien and presumably Nino (if anybody bothered to clue him in) should know that she's full of crap, and suspect her. Don't get me wrong, I love Marinette's whole fake bathroom plan. Genuinely made me marvel at how smart she is. But it also shows that the script still treats Lila as an Avengers-level threat...even if at this point in the story, her lies are just bad. We know from Chameleon she can't even keep her own stories straight (see Lila forgetting which ear her tinnitus was on), and this could have been an amazing detail the gang utilized to start convincing the others that she is lying.

The general problem with Lila's canon character is that she's underutilized, barely appears outside of when she absolutely needs to, and fundementally fails to be what she's been writen as, requiring her Villain Plot Armor™ to kick in and steal everyone's braincells away. I absolutely love the whole "Lila is a fox" characterization, because Volpina was literal genius! The metaphors and symbolism of Lila being cunning and always scheming? Amazing! But...what we actually get to see of her in action? Really, really bad. Also, I am not touching her three mothers with a ten foot pole, not until we get a canon explanation. Personally I ascribe to the Scarlet Lady AU version, but we'll see. Even the more obviously ridiculous things, like Lila having a whole secret lair in the Parisian Catacombs...I'd buy it. If there's IRL raves happening down there, then she could totally have a secret villain lair tucked away behind a few crypts or something.

What I wish we had gotten from Lila is honestly not a lot. Instead of just walking up to people and lying her ass off, I'd prefer to see her be more subtle about it. For Nooroo's sake, just get this girl to actually be cunning like all the fox metaphors want you to think! It isn't that hard to write a scene where she plays the "concerned friend" as Cerise to plant seeds of discord. Buggachat did it very well in "Open my Eyes", and it made me absolutely hate Cerise! And that's a good thing! Lila/Cerise/Iris/Whatever-other-identity-she-has-in-her-closet is meant to be hated by the audience! She literally is a "love to hate" character! And in Open My Eyes, Cerise actually did act as the concerned friend, she was subtle, she didn't always lie but sometimes twisted the truth just a little bit, enough to get the doubts to creep inside someone's head. I got so frustrated because I wanted Adrien to figure her out, but couldn't find a logical way for him to do so in the first place! Do you guys get what I'm talking about yet?

Subtle but convincing. Small and unnoticable until it's too late. That's how Lila should be, because it utilizes the most plot threads made by her lies. I can go on and on with specific examples, but I want to actually post this someday so I shall refrain. In conclusion, there are only two types of Lila. "I'm going to burn your house down and smile while doing it, then find a puppy and kick it into a sewer before emotionally scarring someone to the point of needing life-long therapy" Lila.

And the "cunning, sneaky and subtly manipulative fox who drives people insane slowly but surely as she makes them have an existential crisis" Lila.

I vehemently refuse to accept her canon version, and fear for Season 6 if she doesn't change into one of the above, or at the very least stops being so incredibly in-your-face about it. It's infuriating (in a good way) when the characters don't know, but if the lie is as obvious as "How was my weekend? Oh, nothing much! I just went skydiving on Venus, that's all really!" ...do I even need to elaborate? Because that's what Lila sounds like 96% of the time!

Alas, I digress. Feel free to give your opinion about our resident lying wretch, I need to go take a break before her incompetence drives me insane. I'll see you all soon...but until then, Stay Miraculous everyone!

Gale Reviews: ML Season 5 episode 17 Adoration

(Spoilers as this episode is out before other ones)

-Andre bonding with the child Audrey the supposed love of his life had with another man.

-I pity that man, changed everything about himself for love… it’s actually kind of sad. Because it’s clear he fell for the wrong person.

-Zoe got someone she is in love with. I’d say it’s Marinette, because she has LITERALLY no other people she has seen interacting with. But I doubt it will appear since this is an international show. So my bet is they will imply it without saying it, plus, Zoe doesn’t show the photo she was gonna bury.

-oh so Zoe is in 8th grade while Marinette is in 9th grade. So at least that conforms Audrey cheated on Andre AFTER having Chloe, Damn

-so those two are the reps. Also. Marc is a year younger than them. Interesting

-oh the zoenette is strong in this one

-The storage of all the gifts she made for Adrien, which needs cleaning out. Guess Marinette chilled out about things. Good on her.

-huh… this is the first time we actually get a full on tour of her room. (We see it a lot, but never knew how she divided her stuff up. Neat.

-Oh the hidden adrien simp board is new. Love the touch. (I love the little sticky drawings)

-I get the plan now, they are framing her for stealing stuff. So basically what Lila did in the episode Ladybug. That’s not surprising but also kind of mid. I was expecting more pizzaz. Side note, Zoe was with her the whole time? Also why would she steal from her parents?

-The Chloe accusing her part was clever, because the motive of Chloe walking in to yell at Marinette is very believable

- okay I take it back, this plan has Pizzaz. But the fact everyone sort of just believes it even her own parents? Like come on? And with an akuma litterally anything is possible.

-And Marinette caught on, sees vanisher thanks to the flowers.

-Chloé legit has a Gold phone?!

-Zoe is taking the blame! Zoe no!?

-Oh! Vanisher can just call back whatever she wants. Proof is in the pudding. Good thing Marinette is ladybug. Piñata time!!! Viva piñata

-Well she never outright say it… but She pretty much says it and Marinette confirms it though turns her down. I’m surprised they did that much

It was a fine episode, I think a lot of it felt padded out, and while I enjoyed the first few minutes and the LAST few minutes were epic. The rest of the episode felt… meh.

Yea Adrien is a sentimonster. There is no denying it. Like I’m sorry for the hood outs. This episodes ending confirmed it completely. Which may be the reason I’m not gonna rate it higher.

A common complain I see people do when talking about miraculous is over time things changed for the worst but I don't think so, and I wanted to talk about that today.

It's been 8 years since miraculous aired for the first time and I want you to think about what changed between season 1-5, and I bet people though of something like

(S1) a Master Of the miraculous is introduced

(S1) New Heroes

(S2) New power ups

(S2) We find out hawk moth is Gabriel agreste

(S3) Marinette is the new guardian

(S4) Hawk moth got stronger

(S4) Alya knows who ladybug is

(S4) a Master of the miraculous is introduced

(S4)Chat and ladybug had some trust issues with one another

(S4) Luka knows who ladybug and chat noir are

(S5)The love square advanced and now Adrien and Marinette are dating-

(S5) The main villain was defeated

At first sight, It seem like a lot has changed. And in a good show yes, a lot would have changed, but we are talking about miraculous. This mf list is longer then I anticipated so instead of going through each one saying why nothing changed I will talk about them together.

So let's talk about what changed with the power dynamic of miraculous, because let me tell you, the power ups, the new cool heroes, they affected literally nothing, they served for one thing and one thing only, make a cool new episode so the kiddos would want a toy of fucking rena rogue, the only thing that was going to change was Chloe and you know how that went, and master Fu is even worst, the purpose of having him be in the show was to teach Marinette, and give her new powers, how many times did he actually did that? It had come to a point where they introduced su ran to unlike master fu actually be fucking useful for once, and it was a complete failure because just like fu, he is there just to make a cool filler episode, and go back to the trash bin where it belongs, wanna know other thing that came from the trash bin? Gabriel Agreste getting stronger,he literally got two upgrades, the peacock miraculous, and the miraculous rings, and guess what, the butterfly miraculous ALREADY DID WHAT THE TWO UPGRADES DO, literally evillustrator does exactly what the goat miraculous does, and yet the show acts like these upgrades MADE GABRIEL A MANACE.

Anyways, Luka and Alya know who ladybug is, and it's a cool concept, there are a lot of ways this could go, Alya runs one of the most famous blogs in Paris, and she is a big detective, she could find clues which slowly lead them to monarch, but at the same time, Luka could be kept at gunpoint to make the heroes have a dilemma, risk it all saving one citizen, or protect the city. It's a cool concept, what does mlb do with it? Alya helps out Marinette to get closer to Adrien (not giving a shit if she's ladybug or not) and Luka doesn't exist... Isn't that exactly what happened in season 1-

And do I even need to say anything about the love square? 5 seasons of development for both characters, what changed? At ladynoir Chat flirts less, ladybug didn't really stop being a bitch. At marichat Marinette acted annoyed when chat was around, they became friends for one episode and a half, they wanted to fuck for two episodes and now no one knows but probably Marinette will be back at being annoyed. At ladrian we didn't really get much, and in Adrienette Adrien tries to get closer to Marinette as Marinette is unable to look at him without doing something annoying, and her friends push her into him even when she is uncomfortable, again, do I even need to say anything?

And I won't even talk about the whole sentimonster thing because just like the rest it did nothing, it didn't affect kagami it didn't affect Marinette, FUCK it didn't even affect Adrien cause he doesn't know it yet.

And for last, the main villain was defeated, Gabriel, Adrien's dad, is gone. How did Adrien react to such it, was he mad that his father made so many suffer? Was he sad to know that it didn't matter what he did, his father would be gone, and it would be on his hands, did he feel happy for knowing that he won't have to feel the pressure his dad put on him? NOPE HE DOSENT EVEN FUCKING KNOW.

and wanna know the best part? Lila has the butterfly miraculous, she is the new monarch, is back to season one, just plain old butterfly miraculous with nothing, Emily/Amilie probably will barely appear and be just as neglectful as Gabriel, but she isn't forcing Adrien to do anything, and if you don't force your child to do something you are automatically a good parent doesn't matter if you neglect your child, BECAUSE CHLOE IS A FUCKING BRAT.

Reawakening - Creation

Hey, everyone! Quick summary! This little miniseries is going to be a set of quick little snippets of the kwamis with their new holders, a setting up of their dynamics, and what potential they'll hold. And we start with Creation. Enjoy

            Marc sat at his desk in the early hours as he worked away. He wrote out a story draft using the pages that Nathaniel had given him. He grinned, eager to share this story with Nathaniel. He knew that Nathaniel would love.

            “Morning,” Tikki said.

            Marc squeaked and looked up. “Oh! Tikki, right? Welcome back. How was your night? Is Marinette ok?”

            “She will be. She needs time is all, but she’s in good hands with Ve… I mean Gimmi. Now, we should talk.”

            “Oh, right! So, we were told there is new things to know about you guys, but I admit, I didn’t know much to begin with.”

            Tikki bowed her head. “You were brought in late, so allow me to fill in the blanks. See, kwamis were born of concepts that were learned by Velze. Over the eons since creation, he learned and took in the concepts as he discovered them. After a while, he grew lonely and, in his loneliness, he created us, the other kwamis.”

            “So, you’re all his children?”

            “Precisely. Plagg and I were the first of them. The firstborns if you will. He parted with the concepts of creation and destruction, giving us form and power while retaining his own. After us, Velze created the rest of the kwamis until Barkk, the last concept to be born. Well, that is until Gimmi.”

            “And now that you’re all back, we get to just live with you guys, right? Do we need to keep you hidden?”

            “Not at all. Being restored to our natural selves, we have regained abilities lost to us. Amongst these is being able to traverse different planes, shapeshift, and power selection. So, if need be, I can either hide in the world between worlds or I can take the form of a human and walk the earth as you do.”

            Marc’s eyes sparkled. “That’s incredible! But what about power selection?”

            “Oh, that’s for me. I can choose which powers I can allow you to use. After all, our concepts are all encompassing allowing for a wide range of powers. However, we do still recognize there are powers no mortal should possess. So, expect some limitations.”

            “Speaking of, if I were to transform, what would my powers be? Would I still have luck charm?”

            Tikki hummed. “Why don’t we do something different. I didn’t care for the random aspect of my charm. We’ll keep things simple. With your power, Genesis, you can create any mundane object, sound, and light you can think of.”

            “Genesis? That was the power of the goat.”

            Tikki chuckled weakly. “Oh, not anymore. Not by a long shot.”

            “Right. And, if I should, say, want to transform? What would I say?”

            “‘Tikki, spots on,’ to transform and ‘Tikki, spots off,’ to de-transform.”

            Marc took note. “And do we still feed you after you use your powers? And do we still have the time limit before we de-transform?”

            “Oh, yes, please. Food will always be a fast way to replenish our powers, but you won’t de-transform if you use your powers. You’ll stay transformed, you just can’t use your powers again until we’ve recharged.”

            “That’s actually a relief. The time limit was a little nerve wrecking at times. Oh, but with food, what do you like?”

            “Sweets. All sorts of cookies, pastries, and sugary delights.”

            Marc hummed. “That should be easy. Marinette’s parents run, well, you know. Plus I know this amazing café that sells the most amazing pastries and coffees.”

            “Coffee? I’ve never had it.”

            Marc gasped. “We’ll need to change that. Why don’t we meet with Nathaniel there? I can also show him the draft I’m working on.”

            “Draft? Draft of what?”

            “Oh, we’re working on a comic together. He does all the drawing and I’m the writer. It’s a lot of work, but it’s fun work.”

            “May I watch you work? Please?”

            “Of course! I’d love your feedback too. You are creation and must have a lot of ideas.”

            Tikki’s eyes sparkled. “Oh, yes! I’d love to. Let’s get started.”

as a brown person who's parents moved away from their family to come to the united states for a better life, it really is kind of isolating. knowing that your parents left their family is kind of sad to think about, isn't it?? and it could've been for a number of reasons, sure, but we all know that mostly when we talk about immigrant parents going to first-world countries, we usually can imply why.

ah, god. and when you see your family again, it's by plane that takes about a quarter of a lifetime to arrive... luckily for me, south america (and specifically the area in brazil where i'm from) only takes 12 to 15 hours to get to. it's two different plane rides, sure. but you'll get there. i know many people who need to take multiple different planes and take about 22+ hours to get to the exact little place they're from. the tickets aren't exactly the cheapest thing in the world to acquire, either.

all of your cousins grow up without you. even if, by some miracle, you're a part of a family that has enough money to travel back home once a year, it's still not enough. you see that you've been left behind, almost. it's really, really sad, knowing that your parents talk to them on the phone— send money home— talk about the things they want to take you to. we have a cousin in the mountains. we could go to their farm, one summer. you'll have so much fun with the baby goats.

as far as i can remember (it's been a while since i've watched the show, i've been too stuck in ao3 writing fics to do anything except survive) it really is a shame that we don't see marinette struggle with this kind of thing. the fact that marinette's family is kind of split up around the world isn't something they ever delve into, but i can imagine it is kind of lonely. knowing that there's this whole side of your family that you can barely ever see because of money, resources, or just language. i really do wish marinette had the chance to be upset about it. it would mean a lot to see a a little girl, a woc who's a main character deal with the fact that her family isn't nearby, and only has her parents to rely on. this show came out when i was already a teenager and almost finishing highschool, but it still would've meant so, so much

There'll be Vietnamese to spice things up. I'm giving Kim some Vietnamese dialogue since his origin is there, so it's a win-win

There's a reason why I use this Au since Ox!Kim has it very far similarity to water buffalo. Viet Nam have water buffalo as it symbolized (not confirmed yet) but I think Ox may go well with the Akuma here.

Part 1: The Journey.

This takes place in the middle of 1 year after Miraculous World ShangHai, read the my post movie script for the extra epilogue.

Kim wanting to visit his 1'st father's family bloodline/root. That when his 2'nd father offers a trip return to Vietnam (headcanoning that his second dad is a rich,bulky Parisian). Mr. Ature offered some friends of him going on a trip as he chose Marinette, Marinette asked Kagami.

For some specific reasons, Tomoe agreed on letting Kagami go there WITH her.

Three of them went to Viet Nam alone as they politely inform Scarabee as their heroes ego (separately) and following similar events like the event of ShangHai, they all received an alarms doll that activated due to Akuma attacks.

Nathaniel, Marc, Adrien and Luka are the middle team, they will assist when Scarabee calls out, since Alix and Chloe are ALSO going to Viet Nam but different cities. Nathaniel and Marc will control the Paris team when they left.

[It's divided like this.

-Nathaniel, Marc, Adrien, Luka will be at Paris.

+Adrien/ Stallion Star learn a new upgrade as he can open a portal connecting two destinations into one. That means he can help Scarabee/ Kitty Claw go to the other heroes destination without Stallion appearance. "Vortext"

+Marcel Gibbon later on learns about Sun Wukong Legends as he is able to not only make uproar but also acquires the 72 Earthly Transformations

[Explain shortly about the 72 Earthly Transformations: Basically a transformation that can turn him into another human, animal or object. It's a special concept of a kwami.]

+Nathaniel will be able to upgrade his fox power and turn into a 9-tails fox which granted him the ability to mind control/hypnosis and dream control.

+Luka also unlocked new rooster power. Not by giving himself sub-power but also giving the clucking sound...well, it seems a worst name to be called but when he used that ability, it's eliminated the hypnosis effect, sleeping effect in all conditions without exceptional.]

The France's protection team are out of the way, now to the others journey heroes.

Friendly Note: Anh hated both side of her family, hated her own bloodline, her true parent was the real reason why Anh move to live with Kim since they wanted a perfect BOY. Living with Kim's mother is under more pressure then ever so he skipped school, become reckless, and left the home when Kim move to France.

Anh appearance: 4'9, always wearing a cap/ non la to cover his hair, wearing a plain old shirt and short.

Marinette comforts the girl, while Anh hides away and sneaks out.

BACK AT HA NOI

When they are at the ceremony which was held by one of the famous 1 out of 100 the Lê dynasty. This one is one of the kind, while they giving a speech with Gabriel Agreste, who Alix suprising that he's here.

RETURN TO TAY NINH

They arrived at the local village as Fei getting Deja Vu, seeing a small figure slippingly stealing people stuff, Kim called out the unfamiliar boy yet Fei hesitated at the figure, soon they find out the it was Anh who diguise as a child, however what he's doing is use fire agaisnt fire.

A lady appoarch the nearby police station asked for a purse as Anh give out to her, which the group remember that he been stealing it from a sketchy man.

"Gosh, I must misunderstand you."

"Sorry about the confront earlier."

"My apologies on the carelessness of my word."

" Don't mind about it. Return back at the mansion, r-i-g-h-t n-o-w!!"

Fei stayed silent, observing the boy figure movement, she noticed the lack of deep vocal and fluency in his sentences, the renlings that surround her realm also sensing a new Prodigus roaming around her.

Before Kim could ask Anh to return, the boy bolted away in a flash, making them awestruck at the high speed, which Kagami noticed something wrong with his human physical. Fei dashes after the boy figure as she's the only person that can catch up on her.

Following the trace, she found herself deep into the suburban area, where no human presence can be sight, but a massive, wide shrine (?) / orphanage can be seen.

Anh swiftly opened the gate and went into the place as Fei also went in there, soon Mei Shi fly out, causing Fei to caught off guard while Anh also noticed their presence.

He tried to land a kick but got stopped by Fei, she recognized the martial art style and question, only for Anh to mockingly say.

"What're you gonna say about it kung-fu prodigy? What? "Your kick is so slow and weak I barely don't even need to fight a person like you" or trying to point out my mistake. Beat it and go away FEI"

Anh using his mocking tone to make Fei leave, but she didn't. The group was still finding them as Fei know Anh have something hidden in this strange, abandonded place, she immediately point out to get him surrounded.

"You aren't a boy are you?"

Anh stayed silent, staring the hell out of the girl soul as he hissed out.

"Now I understand what's your name really mean Fei Wu. It's mean garbage (废物) not fly ( 飛). Don't even mentioned those word infront of me."

Fei bewildered by his statement but stayed calm, Mei Shi been hold back inside her pocket as it wanted to say something. She percieve to spotted beneath Anh's shirt glowing some sort of light as it about to burst out.

Kagami slammed the door open, revealing themselves as the light disappear, to much Fei disappointed since she already into fighting stance.

"So cool, you own this place Anh!!?"

Kim amazed by the shrine Anh live in, which were wide enough for a large clan to live in, it divided to 4 section/ area. A main building for the owner to sleep, eat or done their routine; a spacious backyard with herbal plants, trees and flowers; a enormous resident that have beds for guests (?) from small to big and place to do daily Personal hygiene; and finally a front yard with a Ying- Yang circle being draw on the ground.

Kim and Marinette like this place due to it peacefulness, Kagami like it due to the inner energy that surrounded while Fei doesn't care about the backgrounded of the place as she stared the boy figure who smashing some herbal plans, thinking about the light earlier.

Some drama, tea conversation, exposing Anh bad personalities as he've been doing bad things with good purposed for people in his area, since robbery and starvation still happend due to goverment low policy and jobs so alot of victim having a bad goal to be active.

Most of the times, he'd just give a short-term answer and turn silent, not extended any more details while mixing some herbal stuff. Kim worried about Anh's different attitude rather than the sweet and innocent one in the past

HardenBee and ImmuneClaw appearance! (Immune to posion and thing similar to that) While swipping through the catastrophe in the north of Viet Nam to distract the heroes if they were there, what a surprised.

Hawkmoth began his plan as he able to manipulated one of the people related to the Orphanage where Anh live, Nguyễn Nhật Tông been force to work under Gabriel command as he been believed that the person who own the shrine should be him not some bratty kid that the couples take as their descentdant.

Tông came and confront Anh, to the boy surpised at the offer from the man that he wanted to buy the place. In the end he denided.

More reveals about the former of the shrine/Orphanage which is the couple that Fei met, Trung and Thu. They adopted and raised hundreds of children and pass down the legacy place to Anh with some secret that they taught him

Tông force her into contract since kid can't do anything but Fei and the group protect him. Anh accused as he turning 18 next week and having a high connected to the couple contract.

Before the man attack him with a knife, a shiny light burst to the room, a large, black tiger with white stripe roaring at the man. Fei look awestruck with Marinette as they knew what make that happend. Kagami and Kim pulled them to hide as Marinette and Fei hide away to turn into Draconia and Ladydragon.

Unfortunate for the tiger, after 10 minutes of struggling with Tong, it been return to Anh as the man threw him like a shack, slamming into the wall.

Draconia parry the attack as LadyDragon launched Tông out of the place.

Kim waited for the girls return as Kagami called out for the two main heroine. But HardenBee and ImmuneClaw was too busy fighting the chaos with Lapin in Ha Noi so Hawk Moth become more wild in his move.

He akumatized Tông into "Kẻ được chọn" / The chosen one

His ability is absolute wild as he violently gone crazy, destroyed the three main cities, Hà Nội, Đà Nãng and thành phố Hồ Chí Minh. The moment Anh regain himself and revealing the Vietnamese prodigious, Fei/ Ladydragon surprised before the boy getting brutual pin, thrust by a powerful energy as fling across buildings, coughing out blood.

"TCO" then entangled the two dragons heroine and smash them on the ground, a strange energy outburst, dragging the villains attentions as they got carried away.

[The Vietnamese Prodigious: 4 main symbolized resemble North, East, West, South - Phoneix, Unicorn (not the horse with horn one), Turtle/tortoise and another DRAGON! Another specialty that can sense other Prodigious and turn into the 12 zodiac sighed]

That affected the mission of HardenBee and ImmuneClaw so they called out the Parisain team to assist. That's where Stallion, Vlad, Gibbion and Arman gone and dealt with the statue.

Back at the team spotted, since it was an emergency as Ladydragon and Draconia were being outpowered by the deity like villain. His attack can destroy the whole cycle of life and restore it. It's like a god itself but in an outrageous stat that cannot be stop, while to focus on dealing with Nhà vua bullock, Mamushi, Scarabee and Kitty Claw.

Fei and Marinette return to their normal state, find out each other identity but went and find the boy first. Anh was in a terrible health condition as his cap burn down, revealing a long sily hair fell down.

"You're a girl"

Fei said while Marinette are out of her mind as the girl groaned, but further more, she then turn into a black horse as dashed away in that dreadful state. Fei hurry chased her with her horse form as Marinette retrasnform into Draconia and used lightning to catch up on them.

The shrine now being torn down by the attack, Anh become depressed at the issues as having her traumatized past haunting her.

That included Abuse, Sexism, stress and family isues.

Shortcut Lê Quang Anh past: Sexism. Her parents want a boy not a girl, they give birth to a child which they didn't know it gender. To much disappointed that it's a girl, they all wishes they not give birth to her, her mother only see her as a boy, wanting her to be aboy so they send her to the Kim's family, brought her to the south for study session and more.

Anh always skip school, hide away from the resident to visited the Pagoda, which Trung and Thu taught her many advance things. Soon they realized Anh have asthma, depression, stress and OCD which she cannot kept her mental stable when doing yoga, easily lots focus.

When they pass down the Prodigious and reveals "The Hallowed Spirit Domain" as explainning about the world hidden magical system. Kwami, Renlings, God, Deity and the miraculous, Anh become desperated to wield perfectly her country Prodigious power, in which failling to kept her transform more then 10 minutes and unable to become the 4 Legends Warrior.

In the terrible health from, she return tiredly return to "The Hallowed Spirit Domain" in which cried out to her master, telling them that she failed the mission.

"I fail..Why do I even live until now if I cannot become what people wanted? If all life form are equals, why can't I be like Ladydragon"

[Anh have a crush on Ladydragon which she didn't know the hero that she like is the person that she hated]

The Domain similar to an underground cave, a small path lead to the center with statue that hold the neclace, the two side were covered in water with Lotus floating around it. Anh laid down, fatigue as looking beaten up, wished that everything was end in here.

It's hard for her to face something that live in the past, she wanted to live in the modern day, without any old fashioned thought eliminated life-form and approved the existence of every human beings.

She been treated poorly before meeting her master and never have she felt love before.

"Anh!"

A voice echoed through the domain, Anh groaned again, remember she forgot to close the door into this place, Fei was able to go in but Draconia wasn't.

"What you want? Laugh at my face for being a poor Prodigious user not like the superior LadyDragon out there? I'm ready for you to throw me down on the lake, I've nothing left"

"No you aren't, you coming with me...did you just praise Ladydragon?"

"Well now she knew the Vietnamese "good" Prodigious is a failure girl that been disguise as a boy for her entire life and now being exposed to you, I'm surprised that you were able to guess my gender in the first meeting."

Outside, “TCO” was overpowered the heroes due to Hawkmoth achieving a secret power techniques, however, before he could victoriously knock out, a white light join into the battle, knocking out the villain just in a blink of an eye, everyone felt a massive scary pressure that triggering their soul.

Scarabee and Kitty Claw miraculous flash quickly, just like something absorbing all of their energy.

The others aren’t immune to it as immediately de-transform, but able to hide away quickly to keep their identity hidden, Kim having the Ox’s miraculous able to withstand for 10 minutes before seeing a white spritual creature floating down.

It’s appearance look uncanny, having three straight black eyes, emotionless, traumatized anyone soul if they have a weak mental state. It brutal attack knocking out the villain as the butterfly fly out, but soon shattered down.

Before could do anything else, KC grabbed SC as they soon both destransform.

Tikki and Plagg looking weak, as if something pressuring them.

The white spirit then ask Kim to take it to the Domain.

Reunited! Fei and Anh also sense an intense surge.

Null scanning those two, before snapping it paw, transferring Kim outside.

Anh wanted to cried out, seeing a force that she have never sense before, all the lotus in the domain are withering away, Fei put her hand infront of the girl, trying to protected her. Mei Shi then come out, greeted.

“If something is end, it’ll only just the beginning. Life consist both Live and Death, anything that is Zero will be all real, nothing is finished and it will be reborn once again. Nice to meet the god itself, Null”

The spirit doesn’t react but suddenly blurbs, it’s power was enough to crack the wall predictably but also magically revive all the lotus, as it zoom through the three and touching it paw to the ancient shrub, a magnificent aura covers all the earth in a flash. Null, the spirit through Mei Shi words now became mix, it’s mood swing to another different one.

“WOah! So this is what “EARTH!” is, such an amazing knowledge filled place to study!! WAit I Already know everything! BORING!”

The spirit now is in Dark Red, Shining Gold and glittery silver a weird mixture of color as Anh was fully clinging onto Fei back with a heart attack. The shape// of the animal also embody some sort of identical things, similar to Mei SHi

“If this is my punishment for being poorly treated on you, I’m sorry, i’m a terrible person.”

“Quick it Anh, we know that it isn’t 100% your fault until returning to that topic. Mei Shi, explain please?”

Null like human USB, if it contacts any ancient magical artifacts, the energy will absorb and store into it core, like how the USB has its storage level, but Null it restricts to only an area that the energy limit, for example, this Null restricts inside the VietNam Domain and it only has the knowledge of history, life and anything only about VietNam.”

Fei dumbfounded at the explanation but Anh understands the whole context, “Null” giving her a praise as revealing that they also stored the memories of the two couples, who are the vigilante Prodigious Master.

Trung is a researcher on soul, spirit kind, that included Kwami, Prodigious and others essential being and also mastered the techniques to use, protect and control over their enhanced vitality.

Thu didn’t embody any of the power that Trung has, but she’s a herbalist and eminent artist who illustrates symbol of the archverse. She also good at martial art, sign languages and human antonamy study.

Scarabee, the leader was the one who question.

Anh felt a spine chilling wave, knewing that the ladybug hero is the leader of them all, she hestitately open her mouth. In the end, Meishi, XianXian and Fei the one who end up justify the problem to everyone.

Scarabee contact the group from the northern as they all seem to be fine, she disappointed that her date got corrupted by some random 18 years old kid and that BITCHYMOTH

As everyone checing up on each other, some of them admired the beauty of the domain, to which light from the night moon shine through the cracks and into the area.

Guess, what? Hawkmoth return with Tông, who’s now ready for round 2 of the battle, this time, Tông accused Anh’s murdered the family as also the reason why no one return to the Orphan, seeing their supervisors again. That’s a switch, turning Anh emotion down as it the only reason to traumatized her.

Anh got traumatized, remembering the last day she saw the couple, she was at the scene with blood all over her body, something that unpleasant for Anh to reminded with or ring a bell.

It’s like a bomb ticking as Anh felt stress up, KDC being reakumatized but this time with red version, that led to Scarabee realizing that Catalys is also here.

“Everyone careful, this isn’t a normal battle like before!!!”

All the hero on action to fight KDC, yet forgetting to pay attention to Anh who have a panic attack, a velvet butterfly ending up entered Anh necklace as Hawkmoth finally be able to took over the Vietnamese Prodigious.

Kitty Claw and Fei the only one who sight the issues as Fei begging Anh to fight back.

“Anh please! Listen to me and fight back at the villain. You won’t be alone again!!!”

A string of force violently pulling the girl sinking down to the lake of darkness, tangled in depression and lost. That the main reason why Anh never be able to use the 4 Legends, she been blaming herself everything and never get the right recognition.

Kitty Claw tell Scarabee who dealing with KDC now return the focused on the two Prodigious, shocked. Using the last resort, Fei kiss Anh in order to dragged the girl soul out of the darkness.

It’s actually work, XianXian landing on Anh’s head, comment calmly.

“Although the two Mastered aren’t here, but I could be seen as their reincarnated. I’d be proud to see the developement that you made through years Anh. Fei release the kiss, who now with a calmer Anh, the butterfly mask still on with Hawkmoth trying his best to break through the soul,  a small flash went through Anh’s eyes as spark of hope fire up once again. Scarabee use her lucky charm and got a handcuff, for some reason it not the exact things she wanted, but the moment she throw to BitchyMoth, his arm got wrap in and lock with an upper pole, Kitty Claw jump and trying to use her Tornado Cataclysm but fail as KDC slammed her back to the wall, much to Scarabee mental pain.

Anh not only breaking free from the akuma but also evolve the Prodigious as changing the theme. The old Tortoise turn into a giant mythical crane, and the Unicorn change into a lion cub (con nghê). Phoenix and Dragon still in the same way but having their symbolized change.

Unfortunaely, Anh lost her old concious as her fiercy spirit taking control over her body, turning into a mighty black and white dragon, she overpowered KDC easily but couldn’t take down it.

Switching between a wide variety of black and white 12 zodiac signs, Anh’s only able to keep down the damage as Fei assisting her as Ladydragon.

The akuma soon been defeated, they gang up on Hawkmoth as he then summoned a surprised Senti monster (he hidden the feather inside his staff)

Anh still passed out as most of her action was automatic (fight by intuition and her six sense), when the feather entered her charm and created a powerful god-like figure, they soon wrecked the place and blasted BitchMoth back to France.

Yet, Scarabee need to find out how to destroyed the charm and calm the Yin-Yang dragon down. She summon another Lucky Charm which surprisingly make severals item. (bar of soap ,metal chain ,giant carpet)

“Everyone, attention!”

Scarabee then yell, grabbing all the occupied heroes and told them the plans while LadyDragon try to hold down Anh’s Dragon. As the France’s Hero team leader command, Draconia fly toward them as wind dragon and cloaking the raging one with melting soap, she then give LadyDragon the chain as both of them restrained her back.

Other assist the two leaders by holding back the Senti-God which wipe all of them away. In literally.

Kitty Claw then used a massive move destruction, sending a powerful wave of Cataclysm toward the Dragon’s group as it cracked the Amok charm, Fei necklace, Marinette choker.

Scarabee quickly cast the Miraculous bringing the heroes back. However she still keep the carpet as all of them spread it, the charm return Anh to normal as the girl fall down onto the carpet with the two Dragon quickly transform and help her.

All right, I lost a bet and was told to watch S3 to 5 of Miraculous since they're my least favorite seasons all together (my favorite being S2), so I'm going to rant to you gremlins on what I abhor about these seasons starting with...

In my opinion, S3 ruined alya for me, and I used to love her character, but ooo she got on my nerves a little. Adrien is another case. As i didn't like his advice, he gave marinette about ignoring Lila's lies like bitch. Everybody else in the class, I feel indifferent, too, except for Chloe (I feel like they shouldn't have teased us with a redemption if they weren't going to commit to it). They added the rabbit miraculous in this season, so another reason to hate it (still love you though Fluff ❤️). Luka & Kagami won my heart and sympathy as I had a feeling their relationships with the MCs wouldn't last, and I was proven right in...

Though, to be fair, i thought they would last a little longer than one episode. Nino became one of the worst characters for me here as he just wasn't the chill dude anymore and was a keen to a whiney bitch. Alya, ooo that girl, even after learning her best friend was Ladybug, she still was doubting her like, huh?! When it comes to Zoé, I still think they should've introduced her in S2 when Audrey came back to Paris, but that's my opinion. Other than that, I don't like her as Chloe's replacement. That's just a waste of a character in my eyes, plus she's just another person to fall head over heels for Marinette like really? My boy Adrien, though I'm on the fence with him, they really did him dirty like this is his show too, not just Marinettes. Hate the Goat and Rooster miraculous powers (still love you, Ziggy & Orikko ❤️) they're just lucky charm and you can choose all powers that aren't already a miraculous and we didn't even know that til the next season! Speaking of the next season...

Oh boy, S5... like wtf was this season, Gabriel should've beaten their asses in like three episodes, but no, he's just that much of an idiot. Also, they kept pushing that Chloe was evil, but she's a child with no good parents (Audrey is Audrey, and Andre is the one that spoiled her, but he gets redeemed?!). Honestly, I'm glad she's not coming back cause the end shot of her on the plane fucking broke me like I couldn't care less for the adrinette kiss cause we've already seen them kiss multiple times already either in another timeline or memory wipe, but Chloe oh poor child I do feel bad cause she's was just raised poorly and is paying for her parents negligence. Also fuck you Alya not only did you still choose Lila over Marinette but also you voted for her in the class election I punched the air I was so fucking done with her. Also, the season's ending was the worst one as not only is Adrien not there to help take down his father, but trying to redeem him and telling her to remind Adrien of when he was a good father like HELL you were a good father to him. I'm hoping Adrien finds out, dumps Marinette, and just takes a journey to discover who he is.

marinette and jules go to the grocery store, it's great! jules loves all the smells of fruits and weird frozen foods; she's excited to try this yogurt that had marinette chittering about the weird ingredient combination. she's up to trying anything, up for doing anything, as long as it's with marinette.

"mei mei," jules mumbles out, tugging at marinette's shirt. "uhm. i'm tired."

they're in the milk section, because marinette likes getting the milk at the last chance, because of some superstitious reason that jules giggles about but respects. "we've had a long day, huh. want to go home?"

it's cold, it's foreign, and it's hurting her feet to walk so much. she wasn't made to stay on the floor without her wings out for so long! how did luka do it all this time? she can't do it for more than an hour!

Summary: Nino faces a snag in his plans to open Chat's last hint (and it's not from Chat's claws!)

For the first time since Monarch's victory, Nino had gotten a good night's sleep, waking up feeling tired but refreshed. It was comforting, somehow, to know that the identity hunt would be over as soon as Nino opened the little paper bag, which he’d put in his backpack last night.

Nino was planning to examine his last clue during lunch, in the boiler room. That was where Nino came up with all his best ideas (except for that one time) and it served as the base for the Resistance, too! The boiler room was becoming something of a good luck charm for Nino.

Speaking of the Resistance, Nino should probably schedule another meeting of the comrades soon, just so everyone knew he was serious about this group. So far, Nino had been too busy to think of an agenda for the next meeting, but after today, he was sure that would change!

But before Nino could open the last hint or schedule another Resistance meeting, he had to get ready for the day. Jumping out of bed, Nino hurried to get dressed, throwing on the first clean shirt he saw and nearly forgetting his headphones in his haste.

As he rushed through the house, Nino saw that his mother had prepared breakfast for her sons already — warm khobz, goat cheese, and Parisian honey, with fresh-squeezed orange juice to drink. Chris was already helping himself to a third or fourth large spoonful of honey, and as he was distracted by his younger brother’s attempt to attain diabetes, Nino found himself being handed a plate of food by his mother.

“You barely took the time to say goodbye to us yesterday,” she said, guiding Nino into a chair and setting down a folded napkin for him. “Today, you are going to take the time to eat all your food and hug your brother and I before leaving. Family is important, Nino, don’t forget it!”

Nino smiled as his brother crossed his arms and nodded, a bit of the honey he’d been having stuck to his lips. “Yeah! I mi—” A considering look on his face, Chris paused and licked the honey off his mouth. “I didn’t get to see you until the afternoon, and then you headed up to your room, anyway,” Chris said, pouting.

Nino dipped some bread in his honey and took a bite. “Sorry, little dude,” he said. “I had a lot going on yesterday. I might be busy after school again today, but maybe we can play a game together in the evening to make up for it, okay?”

Chris nodded, the hint of a smile peeking through his serious expression. “I like that idea,” he said happily.

Nino’s mother smiled. “Good for you two,” she said. “It’s nice to see my boys being friendly to each other. Now, remember to finish your meal on time, Nino, or you’ll be late for school!”

Nodding quickly, Nino stuffed a bit of the cheese into his bread and dipped it into the honey again as he finished eating. I’ll figure out the last clue soon, he thought to himself, and then I’ll find Chat Noir and make sure I’m the best friend he’s ever had!

  At school, Nino was distracted. He'd felt so sure of his plan earlier, but from the moment he stepped onto the school grounds, Nino had been hit with a wave of unease. Chat Noir had seemed confident that this hint would help Nino put everything together, as long as he really wanted to know who Chat Noir was.

And Nino did! But none of the past clues had really made Nino think he’d come close to figuring out Chat’s secret identity; what if this clue didn’t help Nino figure it out, either?

Nino ran the past clues through his mind, feeling jittery. The key to the janitor’s closet — did that mean Chat Noir knew Nino as a civilian? Did they go to the same school? Then there was the folded letter, with the clue that Chat Noir was in love with Marinette, the passionfruit macaron from the Dupain-Chengs, and finally Chat Noir not liking the Alliance rings (because he knew Adrien was being exploited).

Really, there wasn’t too much to go off of. If Chat Noir was friends with Adrien and Marinette, then he might have learned about the Incident with the janitor’s closet through them, explaining the key. After all, the odds that Rena Rouge, Carapace, and Chat Noir all attended the same school seemed pretty low, though Nino didn’t have Max and Markov to weigh in.

As for the letter — was it really any wonder that Chat Noir had fallen for Marinette? He liked strong girls with dark hair who could kick his butt, and Marinette fit the bill nicely. So, no surprises there. The handwriting was a bit of a shock, as was the folding, but it was likely done to purposefully add another layer of security to the letter as it passed hands from Chat to the janitor to Nino.

The passionfruit macaron was a sign of Chat’s unique cravings, but unfortunately, it didn’t do anything to reveal the secret identity of one person in a city of millions. Hundreds of people liked passionfruit, maybe even thousands, and nearly everyone liked macarons!

And then, not liking the Alliance rings was really just proof for Chat Noir being friends with Adrien. Knowing that Adrien felt comfortable sharing his secrets with Chat made Nino think that maybe the hero was even closer with Adrien than Nino was. Not for long, Nino swore to himself as he took a sip from the coffee he’d picked up at the Dupain-Chengs' just before school. He’d had a feeling that he would need it, though it was probably not helping Nino’s anxiety levels much.

He knew all the clues that Chat Noir had given him by heart, and none of them contained anything revealing! How could one more, obviously tiny clue really jog Nino’s brain enough to make him put all the pieces together? Maybe Nino would look at this ‘last clue’ and not come up with anything! Maybe he would need another dozen hints before he found out who Chat Noir was! And maybe Chat Noir would just give up on Nino and convince Ladybug to let Marinette become his confidant, just like Nino had told Alya to suggest to her!

Nino frowned and massaged his temples, trying to make himself calm down. Just because it seemed likely that Marinette would be able to figure out who Chat Noir was before Nino did didn’t mean it would happen that way, right? Even if Nino was beginning to think that Chat Noir would move on from being okay with having Nino as his confidant before he ever figured out what the last clue meant.

Last night, Chat Noir had sounded willing to wait for Nino to find out who the boy behind the mask was on his own schedule, Nino told himself. There was nothing to be worried about, really. If Chat was willing for Nino to take his time, than the only pressure Nino was under was his own! And most of that pressure was being blown out of proportion by his caffeinated and somehow still sleepy brain, so really, Nino should not be giving in to all this worry.

Nino took another long sip of coffee as Ms. Mendeleiev droned on in the background by the chalkboard. Distantly noting that he was bouncing his right knee under the desk, Nino wondered whether he was bothering Adrien. The heel of his shoe kept hitting the tile floor, bambambambambam, and Nino knew that if it wasn’t him making the noise, he’d be at least mildly distracted by it. Nino stole a glance at Adrien, but he seemed to be focused on the lesson, not looking distracted by Nino.

Adrien had seemed cautious when he met Nino that morning in front of the school. The smile he’d offered Nino seemed real, but it was more tentative than it usually was, and it seemed to shrink when Nino greeted him with his usual handshake and asked how his evening went. He’d murmured that it was good, but Adrien seemed a little sadder than usual to Nino all morning. Not even Alya and Marinette’s offer of a group study date for the physics quiz tomorrow had cheered him up.

Nino hoped Adrien was okay, that nothing bad had happened that he didn’t want to tell Nino about. Maybe, Nino thought, he should try to arrange a sleepover at his place (after he found out Chat Noir’s identity, of course) to cheer Adrien up!

Well. Actually, the chances of Gabriel allowing that to happen were slim to nil, and Nino’s offer would just remind Adrien of how strict his father was. Or worse, it would get his hopes up just to dash them to bits again.

Huffing in disappointment, Nino took another sip of his coffee, tilting his cup and slurping the last few inches down. Not really paying attention to where he was, Nino focused on extending the pleasant taste of his drink as long as he could, missing the class’s stares and giggles as the noise he was making disrupted the class.

Ms. Mendeleiev cleared her throat. “Nino Lahiffe, if you don’t stop that awful slurping sound, I will be taking away your drink so we can have order again in the classroom,” she said in a cross voice, her foot tapping in irritation on the floor.

Nino opened his eyes and blinked at his teacher, like he was just waking up. “Sorry, dude,” he said absently, wiping his mouth with the back of his hand. Ms. Mendeleiev stared for a moment, then sighed and turned back to the chalkboard.

As soon as she’d turned her attention away, Adrien leaned over and whispered in Nino’s ear, “Are you okay? You’re almost never this distracted in class, and you even left your cap at home! I feel kind of concerned about you,” Adrien said, worry shining in his eyes.

Nino turned, nearly bumping his head against Adrien’s. “Everything’s fine,” he responded in a voice a little too loud for a whisper. “I’m just waiting for lunch. I guess I’m more nervous than I thought,” he said, though there was no way Adrien would know what Nino was nervous about.

Somehow, Adrien looked like he understood, and Nino remembered that there was a physics quiz tomorrow that was probably saving him from suspicion.

“Ohhhh,” Adrien whispered, drawing out the syllable. “So that’s what’s going on. Okay, well, I’m sure you’ll figure it all out,” he said, patting Nino on the back. “Don’t be afraid to ask for help, though. And don’t worry! You’re doing great.”

Nino smiled, the significance of the conversation completely lost on him. “Thank you,” he said. “You’re right, there’s nothing for me to worry about!”

Nino turned his attention to the lecture, jotting down a few notes from what he’d understood of the lecture so far. Suddenly, he paused and slowly turned to face Adrien again.

“Hold on,” he asked Adrien in a panicked whisper. “Did you just say that...?” Nino looked at Adrien with a meaningful expression on his face, gaze fly up to the well-styled blond hair on his friend’s head.

Blanching, Adrien gulped. “Did I?” he asked, eyes wide open and both eyebrows raised. Sweat was beginning to bead on his forehead.

“I forgot my cap at home?!” Nino yelped, his hands flying up to his hair. Ms. Mendeleiev shot him a glare as she was forced to pause her lecture yet again.

“I’ve warned you before, Lahiffe. Detention,” she said, and Nino sulked as he sank back down into his seat, looking at Adrien, who was caught between a laugh and what looked like sympathy. Or disappointment. Probably with Ms. Mendeleiev’s totally uncool teaching, Nino brooded. She really was unfair.

    Lunchtime found Nino sneaking off to the boiler room with butterflies in his stomach and Chat Noir’s paper bag in his hands.

This had better not be an elaborate pun, Nino thought to distract himself from the queasiness he was feeling. If the ‘last clue’ is just a little stuffed cat, and I pull it out of the bag and it's holding a slip of paper that says, “The cat’s out of the bag!” with Chat’s name on the other side, I’m going to scream.

Reaching the little desk in the corner of the room, Nino flicked on the light and let out a deep breath before setting the bag on the table.

This is it, he thought, and a shiver ran down his spine. He unfolded the top of the bag. Just one more clue, Nino told himself as he reached down to the bag, ready to reach inside and pull out the last hint. Then this mission is over, and a new one begins. I know I’m ready, Nino thought. Just... five more seconds. He counted down in his head as his hand hovered over the bag’s opening.

Five. Four. Three. Two...

One.

The building shook above Nino, sending a cloud of dust down from the ceiling. In the dark corners of the room, the spiders cowered as their webs shook and fell under the weight of the dust and small chunks of ceiling that were falling.

Nino cocked an eyebrow at the sudden disturbance, pulling his hand back from the bag. Looking up, his jaw dropped as a series of cracks spread across the grey-painted building, dropping a large section of the ceiling down a few meters beyond Nino. The ceiling is falling! Nino realized, and his stomach churned.

Grabbing the paper bag and folding over the top quickly, Nino rushed out of the basement. He knew an akuma attack when he saw one, and this one seemed like the type where it was dangerous to stay in one place, especially when even the spiders seemed scared.

And the ceiling was falling. That might have been the biggest indicator.

I hope everyone gets out safe. And also that the spiders die, Nino thought as he raced up to the main part of the school, where students were running to find safe places to hide as the school crumbled around them.

“I am Bombshell!” a strong voice roared. “No one wants to save a historic building from condemnation, eh? Then maybe you’d like to see how Paris looks with no buildings at all! Take this!” the akuma shouted eagerly, launching what looked like a large grenade from his hand into the center of the Francois-Dupont schoolyard.

“Why is it always our school?” Nino muttered as he ran in the opposite direction, flinching as he heard a boom a dozen meters behind him.

Behind him, a dozen students cried out. Nino turned while he was running, looking to see if he could help them in any way. This akuma was causing almost as much damage as Strike Back, though that was technically a sentimonster.

It looked like most of the students were gathering in the courtyard, panicking and looking for their friends. Everyone was coated with a light dusting of grey ash, but nobody seemed to be having trouble breathing, and somehow, no one was trapped in the rubble. Maybe Monarch had made the akuma’s powers destructive, but not deadly to humans. Good for him, Nino thought sarcastically.

A second boom came from the street, and the west side of the school crumbled further. Nino could make out Chat Noir rushing toward the akuma, but it was large and seemingly impervious to Chat’s taunts and jabs with his baton. He needed help.

Still in the courtyard with the other students, Nino saw Marinette push to the edge of the huddle.

“Everyone!” she shouted. “You need to evacuate, now! Didn’t you learn anything from the akuma drill last week? You need to get away from the danger zone! Nino!” she called.

Nino found himself walking over to Marinette, gesturing at himself questioningly.

“You need to make sure they all get away from here. Make sure they’re at least four city blocks away from the fight,” she said as Chat Noir got thrown backwards into the heap of rubble that once was Ms. Bustier’s classroom.

“Got it,” he said, tightening his grip on the bag in his hands. “But why can’t you help lead us? Are you going somewhere?”

Marinette’s eyes darted over to Chat Noir, who had gotten up and was limping toward the huddle, eyes searching the crowd like he had someone to look for.

It seemed most of the school’s students had already evacuated before the damage was too severe, led by their teachers. But Ms. Mendeleiev was still in the huddle of trapped students, trying to get someone to calm down in her nasally voice. The remaining students were mostly young, and they were panicking in this unfamiliar situation, cut off from their friends.

“I... have to go, um, I need to powder my face,” Marinette said, cringing.

Nino blinked. “I don’t really know what that means,” he said. “But nothing can be more important than escaping right now. You agree, right?” he asked Chat Noir, who had seen Marinette and Nino and was walking over to them, a slight limp to his gait.

“Absolutely,” he said in a ragged voice. “Marinette, you have to stay safe! I can’t imagine what I would do if something happened to you,” he said, eyes pleading with Marinette.

Marinette faltered, her eyes caught by Chat Noir’s gaze. “I’ll be safe,” she insisted, but she didn’t sound sure of her words.

Nino sighed as his two friends stared into each other’s eyes. “Look, we’re running out of time. I don’t know what Chat did to distract the akuma—”

“I trapped it in the rubble with my baton,” he said, and a roar came from across the block. A thin metal object soared through air, shrinking as it fell towards Chat Noir.

Nino blanched as Chat Noir reached out and casually caught his baton. “Great,” he said. “He returned it to me!”

Nino groaned. “Okay, Chat, you take Marinette somewhere safe since she won’t go with the rest of us, and I’ll handle everyone else. We need to hurry,” Nino said as Bombshell’s fiery eyes came into view. “But you’re the only one who can make sure Marinette doesn’t run off someplace weird on her own, like she usually does during akumas.”

Chat Noir turned to Marinette, who shot a disgusted look at Nino for tattling. “You usually hide by yourself?!” Chat squawked, eyes widening in fear. “Marinette! You could get hurt!” he scolded as he scooped up a protesting Marinette and vaulted away with her, presumably to some place across the whole city to make sure she stayed out of danger. As they moved out of Nino’s view, he could hear the worried tones of Chat’s voice as he continued to fuss over Marinette.

Nino shook his head as he jogged over to a pile of bricks and climbed up on top of them. Around him, students were jostling to find an exit, now, tripping over fallen bricks and pieces of the balcony’s railing as they tried to push through the walls of debris that were trapping them.

“Everyone!” Nino shouted, and the crowd slowly stopped their panicked babble and turned to look at Nino, who felt his face growing hot. He didn’t know what to do, really, he wasn’t a leader like Marinette was. He should have pushed for her to stay, Nino realized. But she was safer wherever Chat Noir had put her.

Across the street, Bombshell charged towards a returning Chat Noir, who was followed hotly by Ladybug, with a severe frown on her face. Nino grinned in relief. Hopefully, the battle would be over soon! Well, probably after the akuma introduced whatever Miraculous power he’d been given. But still!

“Well, Mr. Lahiffe, are you going to say something, or are you just wasting our time?” Ms. Mendeleiev spat out, arms crossed as she looked up at Nino. While Nino, Marinette, and Chat Noir were talking, she’d tried to lead a group of students over the west wall, to no avail, and now she was even grumpier than before.

“Oh!” Nino waved his arms, careful not to lose his balance. “No, no, I’m not wasting time, I’m trying to help find a way out of here for us. We need to stop pushing and shoving each other while trying to find a path or we’ll be stuck here until the end of the battle! Now, look, I trust Ladybug as much as the next dude, but right now, we need to clear out of the danger zone, so that Ladybug and Chat Noir don’t have to worry about hurting civilians during the fight! This isn’t M. Pigeon,” Nino said, gesturing to the rubble around them. “This akuma is dangerous.”

“So, what are you gonna do about it?” one kid asked, rubbing his arm, which looked bruised.

Wobbling on the small stack of bricks, Nino spread his arms wide. “We need to find the safest parh,” he said, eyes scanning the crowd and then traveling over the walls of debris and still-standing bricks. “The back doors are, well, they don’t exist anymore, but there’s less unsafe rubble there than anywhere else. If we’re careful, it looks like we can climb over the sections of low wall still standing there and get out over the back part of the building. Did everyone hear me?” Nino asked.

A few kids in the back shook their heads, and Ms. Mendeleiev walked over to the back of the crowd and repeated Nino’s advice. Soon, the remaining students trapped in Francois-Dupont's debris were testing the sections of the remaining back wall for stability, helping others cross over and get to safety while the battle raged on in the streets behind them. Nino called Alya, who’d been part of the group of students who weren’t trapped by the school’s falling rubble, and she gave tips on where to go once the group got out of the debris.

Nino helped the youngest students, often having to lift the shortest ones over a high section of the wall or across a big gap. It took a long time, but finally, the battle was wrapping up as all of Francois-Dupont's students gathered in the park down a few blocks from where Bombshell was attacking.

Hugging Alya close to him, Nino watched as a swarm of red ladybugs flew across the city, tickling him as they swept over his shirt, turning it from gray to blue again and sweeping the dust off the rest of the students.

“You did a really good job out there,” Alya said approvingly. “Ladybug would be proud of you.”

Nino blushed. “Thanks, babe,” he said, brushing a kiss to his girlfriend’s forehead. “I hope Chat Noir will be, too.”

“I’m sure he is,” Alya agreed, but as she continued to praise Nino for putting up with Ms. Mendeleiev’s somewhat frustrating attempts to keep order as the students evacuated, Nino found himself unable to focus, a pale color creeping back into his face.

Stuffing his hands into his pockets, Nino gasped and then looked down, checking the ground for a small paper bag, maybe trampled, or maybe restored by the cure. Nothing.

“It’s gone,” Nino whispered, glancing up at Alya, who’d stopped talking and was looking at him in concern.

“What’s gone?” she asked, putting a hand on Nino’s shoulder.

“Chat Noir’s last clue,” Nino said, his mouth dry. “I lost the clue to Chat Noir’s identity.”

    That evening, a knock came on Nino’s window.

Nino lay in bed, one arm draped over his face. He’d been like that ever since he got back from the attack. School had been closed for the rest of the day, so he hadn’t even gotten the chance to go back and check for the bag there.

“I didn’t figure it out,” Nino mumbled, hoping that Chat Noir’s advanced hearing would work well enough for the message to get across to the hero on the other side of the glass. “I lost the clue during the akuma attack. I’m sorry,” Nino choked out, a tear running down his face. “Maybe fate’s just telling us that I’m not right for the job.”

There was silence from the window, and then the shadow that had fallen across Nino’s face when Chat Noir arrived shrunk back. Nino took in a shaky breath. “I’m sorry,” he repeated as he raised his arm and looked up at the empty window. Maybe it was better this way. Or maybe things would seem less bleak in the morning, and Chat Noir would give Nino another chance. After all, the last clue probably wasn’t decipherable to anyone but Nino... probably.

Suddenly, a small black cat-being phased through the window and flew in front of Nino’s face, hovering over his bed.

“You’ve got a lot of nerve,” the cat-being said said, crossing its arms and frowning at Nino, fangs sharp and white.

Nino stared. “You’re Chat Noir’s kwami,” he whispered, astonished.

The little cat sniffed. “The name’s Plagg,” he said. “I’m going to assume you don’t have any cheese to offer me and get on with the message. You’re like a fresh ball of mozzarella,” he said to Nino, gesturing grandly with one little arm.

Nino blinked at Plagg. “Excuse me?” he asked, not sure whether he should be offended or not.

“You’ve got potential,” Plagg said. “The problem is that you’re too young, too immature. You look at any mold as being catastrophic. And no, that wasn’t a pun.

“The thing about mold, my good mozzarella, is that it’s what adds flavor to cheese. It’s what transforms a boring vat of milk into the most delicious camembert, done properly, of course. You’re experiencing a setback right now, but that’s what will help you become a more scrumptious, gooey, pungent cheese in the future. Does that make sense?” Plagg asked, looking a bit bored with the message.

Surprisingly, though it did make sense, Nino thought, and he nodded slowly. “You mean that I’m overreacting. I can still become Chat’s confidant,” he said questioningly. “Even though I lost his clue? I’ll be more careful in the future, but... shouldn’t I have been more careful? It’s my fault that I lost Chat’s clue, and this is the second time it’s happened, or almost happened,” Nino said, thinking about the time he dropped the first litter from Chat Noir.

Plagg shrugged, hovering in the air in front of Nino. “That would be ideal,” he said, “But even the most well-crafted cheese gets a bad spot of mold sometimes. It’s not the end of all things, as long as it’s small enough to cut off. But, kid, what you did today was nowhere near as bad as you thought it was. Remind me, what did you do during the battle?”

“I dropped the bag while I was escaping and I didn’t even notice,” Nino said glumly, looking at Plagg and wondering what the kwami had to say about this.

“You did not,” Plagg said. “Remember, I was there for all of this. I saw the moment it happened, through Chat Noir’s eyes. You didn’t drop the bag because you were trying to save yourself,” Plagg said. “You dropped it because you were focused on saving those students who were trapped in the rubble. Because of you, almost a hundred students were able to escape the battle zone before the school suffered any more damage. And it did suffer more of it, just minutes after you all escaped. But everyone was safe, thanks largely to you.”

Nino nodded at Plagg, feeling something warm blossom in his chest as he listened to the kwami.

“So you were too busy acting heroic to hold on to the bag,” Plagg went on. “Big deal. Did you really think my holder wasn’t prepared for something like this? He knows you’ve got some kind of noisy brother always looking for attention. Chris could’ve busted into your room and opened the bag himself before you got the chance to. Chat Noir knew that,” Plagg said. “That clue you dropped was purposefully vague, it could have been anything, like a fresh cheese curd ball. No one is going to figure out his identity from it, except for you. Now, if you’ll just agree, I’ll head back outside, Chat Noir will transform, and then we’ll give you the real last clue. Okay?”

Feeling touched, Nino nodded, nostrils flaring as he breathed deeply and tried not to cry. “Mm-hmm,” he agreed. Swallowing, Nino managed to get out a small, “Thanks.”

Plagg waved an arm dismissively. “Don’t worry about it,” he said. “Now clean up those red eyes of yours, Chat Noir will be here in a minute.”

The kwami zipped away to the window, phasing through it and flying up to the roof, where Chat Noir was presumably waiting, untransformed.

Nino sniffed. He couldn’t possibly deserve this much trust and help, he thought. Chat Noir was the nicest person Nino had ever met.

A few minutes later, Chat Noir was standing in the middle of Nino’s room, the window closed again behind him.

“I’m sorry you had to go through that attack today,” Chat Noir said, awkwardly shifting the paper bag in his hands. “I wish Ladybug and I had a lead on who Monarch is, so we could make sure nothing like this would ever happen again. And even though we don’t, I should have stayed around to help you and the other students,” Chat Noir said remorsefully.

Nino shook his head. “No, don’t be sorry, dude,” he said, his voice still tight from almost crying. “You had to fight the akuma. In the end, that did more good than anything I did.”

“That’s not true,” Chat Noir said softly. “You made sure no one had to deal with their injuries alone. Ladybug’s cure only affects the physical damage, not the mental stuff. Hopefully, a lot of people will feel a lot less alone and hurt because of what you did today. I heard about it all,” the hero continued. “You came up with the plan to evacuate, you helped Léo and the other youngest students get over the wall safely, you stayed in the blast zone and kept helping everyone even when it was clear that Bombshell would head back to the school and attack it again. You were turtle-y heroic, Nino,” Chat Noir said, a smile on his face. “I have to thank you for doing so much to help Paris today.”

Nino blushed, embarrassed. “You’re welcome, dude,’ he said, looking down and fiddling with his bracelets. “I still think you did more, but I was glad that I could do something to help, today.”

After a few moments had passed in comfortable silence, Chat Noir cleared his throat, looking over at Nino.

“So. Are you ready for your last hint this time?” he asked, holding a pose that Nino thought might be uncomfortable but looked casual enough.

Nino nodded and stepped closer, looking at the bag in Chat Noir’s hands. The folds looked fresh and crisp, like the ones in Chat Noir’s first letter.

“I am,” he said. “Do you think I should wait to open it, or do you want to see me try and put it all together?”

Chat Noir blinked, looking like he hadn’t considered this. Tilting his head, he considered Nino’s question, tail swishing behind him as he thought.

“What if we try a bit of both?” he asked cryptically. “I’ll go back out on the roof while you open it, and Plagg will tell me once you’ve figured it out. Or, if you still need another hint, that’s okay, too! I want you to put it together without my help, I think,” Chat Noir admitted. “So that I know it’s really your choice.”

Nino was surprised, but he supposed that made some sense. Chat Noir had been eager for Nino to find out, but he also seemed to think that Nino should only find out if he wanted to. If putting the pieces together on his own would convince Chat Noir of that, then this plan was fine by Nino.

“All right,” Nino said, taking the bag from Chat Noir when he held it out hesitantly.

Chat Noir opened his mouth to say something and then closed it again. “Um,” he said, rubbing the back of his neck. “Good luck, Nino.” Stepping back towards the window, Chat Noir pulled the sash open and stepped outside, waving one last time before he closed the window and headed to the roof. A few moments later, the same cat-being from earlier flew into Nino’s room.

“Hurry up,” he told Nino, his tail lashing anxiously. “The suspense is giving me indigestion. Trust me, you don’t want to know what that does to an all-powerful kwami.”

The corner of Nino’s lips twitched up into a smile. “Don’t worry,” he said. “I was just waiting on you.”

And, not wanting to waste any time, he reached into the bag and pulled out Chat Noir’s final hint.

Miraculous Coraline Crossover AU

Before anything, read the rules.

Okay, everyone, this idea might seem a little bit crazy, but give it a chance, please.

In this AU, Coraline, after all of the events of the Beldam, became a paranormal detective of sorts (How her parents accepted it? That, I don’t know, but you guys can find out).

Eventually, hearing the situation in Paris, she decides to investigate more on what’s going on with Ladybug, Chat Noir and Hawk Moth.

Coraline, now at the age of 13, starts to go to Francois Dupont and joins Marinette and her class.

We know that she is smart and kind, but she has a short temper and don’t bite her tongue at an injustice, so, she has a bit of conflicts with her class. Specially Chloe and, eventually, Lila (the girl was tricked by the Beldam and learned how to go through her lines, it’s not a random teen girl with the worst lies ever that will fool her).

In the beginning, she wouldn’t use a miraculous to fight. She doesn’t need one to kick ass, let’s be honest. Coraline vs Volpina would be specially interesting.

Eventually, though, she receives a Miraculous… which one, though? Well, it can be any of them! In the movie, she can be connected to any of the ones in the box!

Due to her experience in the Other World, Illusions and Dreams, she could use the Fox or the Pig.

Due to her scene of searching for the water in the beginning, she could use the Dragon.

Due to her attentiveness and her curious nature, she could receive the Snake or the Dog.

She is constantly associated to the color yellow in the movie, and even have a hair accessory, so she could have the bee.

Due to her experience in defending herself, she could use the Turtle and the Ox.

Due to her creativity, she could use the Goat, the Rooster, the Peacock and the Moth.

Due to her trickiness, she could also use the Monkey Miraculous.

Due to her connection to the rats in the movie, she could use the Mouse Miraculous.

Due to the whole dimensional travel adventure, she could also use the Rabbit and the Horse.

And due to her connection to the cat, she could use the Tiger or the Cat, if you guys follow an Adrien salt path.

You guys can give any miraculous you want to give her. There is an excuse for all of them!

I suggested a similar idea to @natedogx15 a long time ago, except that Sabrina would be the detective one.

Anyway, if you guys are creating an AU, and you guys can’t find a holder for a miraculous in canon, please consider Coraline.

Kleptomania

An idea formed in her head, watching the back of her arch nemesis in her bedroom. Clearly he didn’t suspect her at all of being Ladybug or he wouldn’t turn his back on her, but here he was yelling at the Kwamis and paying her no attention, so she tucked the key and charm half out of her sleep shirt.

“Ladybug is always careful!” Roaar chimed in. “We don’t know her address!”

That’s right guys, all according to plan, she tried not to grin incase that Monarch decided to turn around. Though I might be able to speed some things up a little here.

“So in case we’d get lost,” squeaked Baark. “She created a little treasure hunt to help us find where she lives!”

How the heck is this even working, oh my god! She cracked her neck, swinging her head from side to side, while shaking out her hands and flexing her fingers, getting them loose. Alright, Marinette. Just like Fei taught you. He’ll never feel a thing.

She nimbly reached up on the back of his head and slipped the Bee Miraculous from the back of his head. Then she flipped the Monkey Miraculous off, quickly shoving them both into her pajama pants. He didn’t react, too busy engrossed in what Daizzi was telling him so she reached up on her tiptoes and gently grabbed the Goat Miraculous from the sides of his ugly hair as it followed its brethren.

You know what time is it? TIME TO SAY SHIT ABOUT MIRACULOUS, YEY, so without winding up let's go, today I'll talk about the Mari chat episode of this season, the ninth episode of miraculous season 5 Elation

Also Ladybug asks if he has a girlfriend and he says that less they know about each other better, but just some episodes later they are happily talking about how now they’re both dating so… w h a t ?

Chat noar tries to transform in a random allay but comes a fan to harass him.

The scene cuts to Adrien going to the Dupain bakery to talk to Marinette, Marinette parents then assume that he is in love with Marinette, Sabrine then for some reason calls Marientte even if her room is not that far away? Now even the non-important character has lost their braincells.

Marinette says she’s busy and that he is just a friend from school and she didn’t want to see him after school, first of: Marinette’s an asshole. Second of: no man, Marinette and Adrien barely spend any time together after school, its rare a situation where the one of them call the other to do something, most of the time they are just there and they happen to meet. I’m not saying I want them to be together, Marinette is a selfish hypocrite and Adrien is not much better, I’m just asking for some better writing, that the basic of the basic of the basic of writing teen romance, making they just hanging out as friends, BUT NOT EVEN THAT, THE SHOW DON’T DO THE BASIC!

Marinette then blows up in Alya, Alya then tell her to calm down and touch some gras- I mean, get some air.

The scene then cuts to Adrien being harassed by fans again, Sabine and the guy I shall not say the name apologize for their daughter being an asshole and give him some chuquetes, chouquetes?

Oh, thanks google, Marinette parents give Adrien some chouquettes and he leaves.

We then have a genuinely funny scene with Marinette and Chat and we have those two morons being cute, for some reason seeing two sided marichat Is surprisingly funny and not forced, I don’t know why but this wat of Chat, joker and carefree yet not knowing much about life, works a lot with Marinette being selfiish yet sweet and her way of being, makes some really good scenes. I think even the worst of shows can have some nice moments sometimes, I need to say, good job writers, you surprised me.

But the writers ruin everything making the two say stupid things while almost kissing so there’s also that-

The scene then cuts to Alya and Tikki talking bout Marichat or Ladynoir being a Canon.

Alya: cmon Tikki it wouldn’t be the end of the world.

Also when it was princess justice, it was dramatic, here it's just... Nothing, because in princess justice Marinette has Expelled, and everyone believed she was an asshole, she had lost her friends, She was going to have to change schools, And with a record of being expelled it would be harder for her to do anything. Her life was at the worst it's ever been, but here is just "oh my crush dumped me" so no one gives a shit.

Chat noir then apologizes for kissing her and marinette realizes what the hell she did.

The scene then cuts to chat noir fighting glaciator but by the power of theres-still-8-minutes-left he fails.

Andre then DESTROYS MARINETTE HOUSE, WTF? PUT THIS MAN IN JAIL, THIS IS ATEMPT OF MURDER.

Marinette: oh, tikki this is all my fault…

With chat noir, glaciator is struggling to get his miraculous but when he almost go it, alya appears out of no where to say Andre was stupid, which is true, but even so andre tries to kill alya, that’s the character that was supposed to be the lovely ice cream man.

Andre then hears ladybug and because he is a sociopath, he proceeds to try kill her too. What a good character!

Ladybug and chat talk about he not being in love with her anymore and she accepts his choice.

Also chat with heterochromia is amazing ngl.

Monarch then tells glaciator that they’re hiding behind a building, huh good foreshadowing.

Ladybug then activates her lucky charm which is a big umbrella, and by the power of Girls-good-boys-stupid glaciator loses all his braincells (which was zero) and fall for the most obvious trap in the world, hero saying he gives up, and we have a butt joke….

Ladybug then purifies the akuma

Andre: ladybug and chat noir! Was I akumatized again?

Ladybug: yes

Andre: I’m-a sorry, is just that you make such a beautiful couple, but oh well, what matters most is that you’re happy.

Chat then takes Marinette home make some jokes and we have platonic marichat.

Marinette then cry because of love; she didn’t grow up a little since season 1.

Adrien proceeds to be sad about love and, I don't know if you know but I like chat noir but hate Adrien, so I really couldn’t care less about it, also he gets happy to seconds later, and that’s where the episode ends

This episode isn't very good, it's not the worst but it's not good either, Marinette still this anoying selfish thing, and Adrien still nothing but an one dimensional simp, the villain was boring as heck, Andre still the same kinda sycopath ice cream maniac as he always was but now with less brain cells.

and really what the purpose of this episode was; to make Marinette not be in love with chat noir anymore.

But it wasn't delivered properly, it's the same case scenario as the rooster miraculous, it can easily be exploit.

Marichat wouldn't work ok, but what about ladynoir?

They see each other every day, they work together well, based from past episodes Marinette don't respect much if someone has a crush on another person, then what's stoping her?

Fear of being akumatized? Chat rejected her because she was in civilian mode.

Fear of being dumped out? This wouldn't stop Marinette for loving chat noir, it would just stop her from telling him that.

It was because of the moment that chat and ladybug talked about their feelings for each other? Marinette always runned after Adrien even if he said she was just a friend.

So what is stoping her from being in love with chat noir?

I'm general, I think what saved this episode for me was cat noar and Maributt when they weren't simping each other, they have a good quemestry what can I do? Well I'll give this episode a 5.5/10 put Andre in jail
