A bit about Chuanqingren, one of the unofficial ethnic groups in China.
English added by me :)
Full video transcript below the cut:
Simply because these people are so rare, on cellphones and computers, there is no option to choose them. There’s no way to input them as an option.
As a result, often times when they go out, they will be questioned over having a fake ID. They’re not Miao, nor are they Han. And they’re certainly not any of the other 56 ethnic groups. In the 90s, they were designated as an unrecognised ethnic group (official designation). Their group is classified as Other. According to Ming Dynasty historical records, in earlier times, they were called “tu ren” (dirt people), “Li minzi” (~descendants of villagers), and also “xianmin”(羡) or “xianmin”(县) (~county people). Because their traditional clothing tends to be qing* colored (*may describe blue, green, or black), they’ve since been known as “chuanqing ren” (qing-wearing people). Early on, in the 1980s, there was already the write-in option of “qing group”. The first generation of resident IDs have “qingzu” printed on them.
Later, after many years of ethnic group discernment work, it was concluded that for the time being, they did not conform to China’s independent ethnic group determination standards. Therefore, they became recognised as “Chuanqingren”. Chuanqingren are mostly found in the northwest regions of Guizhou province. They use mandrills as their totem and their clothing tends to be qing. The qing color in question is a rather deep blue, one that near black.
There ware several explanations for the origins of Chuanqing people. One saying is that they are indigenous people of Guizhou. Another, more common explanation is that in the early Ming Dynasty, Yunnan’s king of Liang rebelled and Zhu Yuanzhang (Hongwu Emperor) dispatched 300k forces to consolidate the south. Then from south of the Changjiang, many immigrated to Guizhou and settled.
Historically it’s known as “transfer from the north, filling the south”, and Chuanqingren are simply the later generations of these soldiers and officers and immigrants to the south.
Now then the question comes: why are they only Chuanqing “people”, and not qing “ethnic group” or Chuanqing “ethnic group”?
Firstly, each ethnic group in our country has its own cultural/civilisation origins. For example, the Han ethnic group are the descendants of the Yellow Emperor and Flame Emperors. Therefore, they are also called “Yan Huang Zisun”(descendants of the Flame and Yellow Emperor).
Take for example the Miao ethnic group as well: The origins of the Miao ethnic group is that Chiyou led them in the alliance of the 9 Li tribes.
But Chuanqingren can’t find their origins. Most still simply say that they are a branch of the Han ethnic group. None of their special folk styles and customs have been completely preserved, including their language, which fewer and fewer of them are able to speak. Their clothing is even less common, which has led many to think that the clothing of the Tunpu people (another Han branch) of Anshun are that of Chuanqing people. As a result, many have taken Tunpu people as Chuanqing people.
In China, there are a lot of unique communities not within the 56 [official] ethnic groups. For example, the Mosuo people, the Kemu people, the Xia’erba people, the A’ke people, the Deng people, and more. The so-called “unrecognised” ethnic groups aren’t to say that their group’s identity can’t be distinguished. Rather, it’s that they still don’t meet our country’s criteria for judging independent ethnic groups. So, it’s only in order to reflect and affirm these unique communities that they are incorporated under the "not yet recognised” ethnic group.
In the multi-ethnic household of China, no matter which ethnic group, we all have a common name, and that is ”zhonghua minzu” (the people/nation of China). Do you identify with that? (Do you agree?)

Song Yan: I can guarantee I'll be good to you. I'll be good to you everyday. I'll never betray you nor neglect you. I'll try my best to create a better life for you. I can't guarantee if I am good enough to meet the requirements of you and your family. I know it's hard for you. I know if we're really being together, you'll have to suffer. I understand. But you have to stop coming into my life like this. Be together or never see each other. Make a decision.
This show give me all the angst I need. (For the fluff, I trust King The Land. But I am a hopeless case, seeking for something that can make my heart ache) And until this point it had been going very well even with some additions that don't happen in the source novel. I was okay with the changes because they suited the story and made the show more emotional.
But then...After this scene, I don't know why, they chose to go down a different path and lost the perfect opportunity to give us a deeper emotional aspect. We watched a bunch of filler episodes then they decided to go back to the source again but I felt like it wasn't a good pay-off for it. What a huge disappointment.
This scene was seriously good, don't get me wrong. It's one of my favorites both in the novel and the show. The extra shot to the boiling porridge was a nice detail. They tried to give many little things, the characters showed their vulnerability and mindset clearly...so a turning point very much for them and for the viewers. After this, I needed to see/watch the emotional turbulance, because this was implied before, no, not implied, said by the character himself.
"Some wounds, when I was young I took a hit, I was fine, and recovered quickly, but if it happens again at this age, it will be fatal."
The thing they didn't show in the show but happened in the novel is that her being silent here seriously ruined him. He became more depressed. The man who is a responsible firefighter got drunk for the first time after her silent rejection despite the fact that he might be called for an emergency mission at any time.
But he didn't blame her. He knew her so well and still defended her against his cousin. In the show this conversation between the cousins happened during a breakfast in a very normal way.
Sigh.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Zhai Miao: Didn't you say it would be better not to see each other? Then don't. Song Yan: But she came.
Also I don't know why they didn't show the importance of this line. It was a critical point to understand why he can forgive her despite everything she did.
As long as she comes back to him and shows what she feels, he is ready to take a step towards her. Because this is their dynamic. It started when she chose to go with her brother at the skate park. The next day she went to him and insisted that she would stay with him and he silently accepted her apology in the novel. The same scene was shown in the beginning of the episode but they didn't show what happened the next day part and we never got an explanation about how they were reconciled later. I mean, to me, this is so important to understand ML's mindset and feelings about her. They have had such a weird relationship from the very beginning and some scenes should be helpful not confusing.
End of the rant, I guess. I'll continue watching it, because like I said, they give me good kind of angst and the plot still has potential. Also I look forward to watching how my other favorite parts of the novel will be adapted.

Modern Cdramas I watched in 2023
This was my first year in Dramaland (both Chinese and Korean). And I have to say that for the most part I have enjoyed my journey in discovering the dramas. This list includes dramas that were released before 2023 as well.
9. Love of Replica
This one of those dramas with lookalikes where the female lead impersonates her lookalike and solves the mystery about her backstory. Also, it's a bodyguard romance so I definitely expected some things going in. It's full of cliches and tropes some enjoyable and some irritating. I have to praise Yu Yue (actress portraying the female lead), she really made me believe that lookalikes were two completely different people. The chemistry between the main couple is fire. I did not enjoy the secondary characters' romance. However the overall squad energy and their team dynamic was great. I kinda guessed the twist but was surprised by how dark the drama went. Overall, I liked most of it and I was disappointed how some of the characters ended up. If you want a bodyguard romance with kinda obvious twists with very good cast chemistry then you'll probably like it.
8. Parallel Love
This is a time travel drama (you'll see more of these in this list) where Lin Miao, the female lead travels from 2020 to 2010 and she must help Jiao Yang, who is the Vice President of Hong Yu, become the president of the company within 3 months otherwise she will disappear forever. What I liked most about is that Lin Miao is very competant and smart, even if she is not experienced for the task she will still try her best and give it her all. I enjoyed the romance and the dynamic of the main leads. It definitely has plot holes regarding time travel and the rules were not properly explained. They also did not really focus much on the time travel part and did use the potential things that they could do with time travel. However, the interaction between the present and the future Lin Miao was very well done and something that many people would be able to relate to. The business plot was medium and not very interesting. The main leads' personalities and character arcs was the reason why I enjoyed the drama. However, they left the ending ambiguous so if you don't mind open endings then you'll enjoy this time travel/corporate romance drama.
7. Love under the Full Moon
Another time travel drama with a twist that Lei Chu Xia (female lead), who has time travelled 10 years into the future can't leave Xu Xiao Dong side beyond a certain distance. Together they work to recover her memory to unravel the mysteries of the past decade. This drama has great romance, unique time travel premises further in the series, good character development for the main and secondary cast, an antagonist that seems like a real person which makes it seem like we could meet someone like them in real life and a plot with unexpected paths. However, it does have a bittersweet open ending which could make some people hate the drama. Despite that I really liked the drama.
6. Mr. Bad
One day, Nan Xing, an online novel writer makes a wish for an "unforgettable love" in a wishing pool. Then, Xiao Wu Di, the villain of her story, suddenly appears before her! She tries to avoid him, but Xiao Wu Di finds her and threatens her into taking care of him. Unfortunately for him, Nan Xing's wish comes with a special power: whenever she needs help, Xiao Wu Di teleports next to her to fulfill her wish. It's fun, fluffy and sweet with not much angst. The romance is cute and the dynamic with the secondary cast is enjoyable. The ending frustrated me but I assume they did it to pass the censors so I just pretend the last 7 mins don't exist. This is one of those shows you can watch when you just want to turn your brain off and watch a sweet story.
5. My Lethal Man
It's premise is similar to Love of Replica however here Shen Man Ning, an art student takes the place of Zhuang Xin Yan, granddaughter of a business tycoon. Yan Xing Cheng, the mysterious male lead is ruthless in pursuing the mastermind behind the threats and is not really sympathetic to Xin Yan but as they face the difficulties together they fall in love. The romance is so good and their dynamic is very different from typical ones. I found the secondary characters' romance weird and poorly done. The plot was really good and the pace kept moving along nicely. Except for the secondary romance, I had a great time watching it, I really recommend this one if you want a drama that balances mystery/thriller and romance and does a good job at both aspects.
4. Love in Time
A time travel drama again ! This is the last one though. This one is unique because the appartment in which He Zhen Yu has recently moved into merges with it's past one. This is how he meets a rookie reporter Chen Jia Lan who is a former tenant from four months ago, and through some miracle, they are able to see each other. When they attempt to prevent future misfortunes by changing the past together, their romance blossoms. Their romance was so good that I really ended up hardcore rooting for them to get their happy ending. I don't want to give away too much so all I'll say is that the time travel and its consequences were handled very well for the most part and the plot was interesting and took surprising turns. He Zhen Yu's character arc was very well portrayed on the other hand while in the beginning I related to Chen Jia Lan, in the latter part of the drama I was frustrated with her choices and how she didn't have a character growth moment. All the actors did a good job but I have to say that the main leads' acting was very good and made me very immersed in their story. All in all, I had a very good time watching it as the ending brought it all together for me.
3. Lucky's First Love
It's one of those office romances which has a light tone for the most part. Xing Yun is competent and hardworking who was there with Xia Ke when he started the company. They have been working together for years and have deep understanding of each other and work well together. Thankfully, Xia Ke is not one of those CEOs who are jerks and cold hearted. He may be reserved but he is quite caring (not in an overt way) not only towards Xing Yun but also his employees. Xing Yun does go out with someone else in the start but it doesn't last long and love triangle shenanigans are not long drawn out. The main leads' romance is sweet and depicts their daily interactions and they have great kiss scenes. The secondary couples are also great. This drama has character development for main and secondary characters, wholesome workplace and family dynamics, no over the top melodrama, lifelike workplace and relationship issues, slice of life interactions and very little angst. This is a great watch for when you need something short and sweet that's not too heavy.
2. Ordinary Greatness
The show mainly focuses on novice police officers that are starting their one year long mentorship. They soon discover that the grass-roots work is different from what they imagined, and, after some struggles, they're gradually moved by the sense of achievement and honour gained in their work. Throughout the show we explore their characters, their comraderie with each other, with their mentors and with other police officers at their station. We also get to know their mentors and other police officers at the station which immerses the audience in the show deeply. It is a slice of life type drama, where most of the cases are not major crimes. All actors knock it out of the park with their emotional as well as subtle portrayals. This show depicts how even small acts and seemingly tedious and insignificant work really have great impact on people's lives and that the people doing such grassroots work contribute just as much and are just as important to the society if not more as the people doing big acts like taking down criminal gangs. While some situations and cases are specific to China, everyone will be able to relate to majority of them. I must say this is a must watch drama.
1. Arsenal Military Academy
This is a Republican era drama in which Xie Xiang assumes her brother's identity to join the Chinese army and is accepted in the Arsenal Military Academy. While she is the main lead the story also follows Gu Yan Zheng(main lead) - a spoilt quarrelsome rich kid, the gentle and introverted Shen Jun San, Qu Man Ting - a famous actress and singer and secondarily other cadets, their teachers and other locals. It has great comedy, really good romance (including their hilarious bickering), enjoyable action and entertaining dynamic of the cast. All the actors did an excellent job here, the standouts being Bai Lu, for portraying being able to convincingly play the female role and the female disguised as male role all while knocking out her emotional and comedic scenes and Xu Kai, who can forget his electrifying performance as a lovable troublemaker. I have to warn you that the story gets serious in the last 10ish episodes and that the love triangle does drag out a little bit longer than it should but it's resolution is still good. To me the drama didn't seem overly patriotic so I didn't have a problem rooting for the characters and their goals of protecting and improving their country. This ranked first because it's romance, characters and their comraderie won me over completely.
You can also check out my costumed cdrama rankings.
As I'm still a newbie to cdramas and kdramas, I welcome your recommendations.

The Filial and Dedicated King of Donghai, Yue. Part 1 (JS059)
The Filial and Dedicated [xiaoxian] King of Donghai, Yue, courtesy name Yuanchao, was the second son of the King of Gaomi, Tai. As young he had an impressive reputation, [but] modest and unassuming in commitment to grasping cloth clothes, he became revered within and outside. At first, as Heir he became Chief Commandant of Cavalry. He, the Chief Commandant of Appended Horse, Yang Miao, and the King of Langye, Zhou's son Yao together attended discussions in the Eastern Palace. He was designated Cavalier Attendant Gentleman, and successively became General of Guards of the Left, and in addition Attendant-at-Centre. He had merit in chastising Yang Jun, and was ennobled a five thousand households Marquis. He moved to Cavalier Regular Attendant, General who Assists the State, and Archer-Servant of the Right to the Masters of Writing, acting as General who Roams and Strikes. Then he became Attendant-at-Centre and in addition Chief Commandant of Offered Chariots, and was provided with fifty mild and trustworthy people, and separately ennobled King of Donghai with revenue of six counties. Beginning of the Yongkang era [300 – 301], he became Prefect of the Central Writers, transferred to Attendant-at-Centre, and moved to Minister of Works, acting as Overseer of the Central Writers.
The King of Chengdu, Ying, attacked the King of Changsha, Ai. Ai firmly defend Luoyang. The various generals Within the Halls and the Marshals of the Three Sections were exhausted from the battles and defending. They, together with the General of Guards of the Left, Zhu Mo, covertly restrained Ai in a detached department, pressured Yue to be their leader, and put forward to Emperor Hui to remove Ai from office. The affair settled, Yue claimed illness to yield his position. The Emperor did not allow it, and he was promoted to Interim Prefect of the Masters of Writing.
Beginning of Taian [302 – 303], the Emperor went on a northern campaign against Ye, and used Yue as Great Chief Controller. The Six Armies were defeated and Yue ran to xiapi. The Chief Controller of Xu province, the King of Dongping, Mao, would not admit him, and Yue went straight back to Donghai. The King of Chengdu, Ying, since Yue and his brothers were the finest of the imperial house, sent down a large-minded order to summon him, but Yue did not respond to the instructions.
The Emperor went west to favour. He used Yue as Grand Tutor, to, in a pair with the Grand Steward, Yong, assist the court's government. He declined and did not accept. The Central Commandant of Donghai, Liu Qia, urged Yue to issue out troops to prepare against Yong. Yue used Qia as Marshal of the Left and Master of Writing Cao Fu as Army Minister. Then he raised troops and Mao became afraid. He therefore used the province to join with Yue. Yue as Minister of Works acted as Chief Controller of Xu province, and used Mao to act as Inspector of Yan province.
Yue's three brothers were all in possession of regions and trusted with campaigns and offensives, and on their own selected Inspectors, wardens, and chancellors. Many gentlemen of the court came to Yue. And yet the King of Hejian, Yong, held close the Son of Heaven and issued out decrees to dismiss Yue and others, and they were all ordered to go to their states. Yue proclaimed he was righteously offering to welcome the Great Carriage to return back again to the old capital. He led 30 000 armoured soldiers and went west to stay at Xiao county.
The Inspector of Yu province, Liu Qiao, did not accept Yue's instructions. He dispatched his son You to resist him, and Yue's army was defeated. The King of Fanyang, Xiao, dispatched Controller-Protector Tian Hui with 800 charging cavalry to welcome Yue. They encountered You at Qiao, and You's multitudes scattered. Yue advanced to station at Yangwu. East of the Mountains the troops flourished, and Within the Passes they were greatly afraid. Yong cut off and sent Zhang Fang's head to seek peace, but soon after changed plans to resist Yue. Yue led the feudal lords and Xufuli and Jucisuigui of the Xianbei and others with infantry and cavalry to welcome Emperor Hui to return back to Luoyang. A decree used Yue as Grand Tutor to Record the Masters of Writings, with Xiapi and Jiyang commanderies added to his fief.
When Emperor Huai was enthroned, he entrusted the government to Yue. The Gentleman of the Personnel Section, Zhou Mu, was the King of Qinghe, Tan's maternal uncle and the son of Yue's paternal aunt. He and his younger sister's husband Zhuge Mei together advised Yue, saying:
That the Lord Sovereign became Brother-Heir was Zhang Fang's idea. The King of Qinghe was originally Heir-Apparent, but was deposed by the crowd of criminals. At the Previous Emperor's sudden collapse, many suspected the Eastern Palace. Your Excellency, why not think of the enterprise of Yi and Huo, and so soothe the altars of soil and grain?
Their speech was not yet finished, when Yue said:
How is this proper to talk about!
Thereupon he shouted to left and right to behead them. Since Mei and Mu belonged to old families, and their crimes stopped at their persons, he following that, petitioned to remove the law of Three Kindred.
[Yi Yin and Huo Guang were ministers famous for removing unfit rulers]
The Emperor started to personally take charge of the ten thousand circumstances, and kept in his heart the numerous affairs. Yue was not pleased, and sought to set out for his fiefdom. The Emperor did not allow it. Yue thereupon set out to garrison Xuchang.
Beginning of Yongjia [in 307 AD], he went from Xuchang to lead Gou Xi and the Inspector of Ji province, Ding Shao, to chastise Ji Sang, and routed him. Yue turned back to Xu. Senior Clerk Pan Tao advised him, saying:
Yan province is Under Heaven's pivot and midpoint. Your Excellency ought to shepherd it yourself.
When he moved Gou Xi to be Inspector of Qing province, this caused a crack between him and Xi.
Soon after a decree made Yue Imperial Chancellor, to act as Shepherd if Yan province and Controller for the Six Provinces of Yan, Yu, Si, Ji, You, and Bing. Yue declined Imperial Chancellor and did not accept, and moved from Xu to Juancheng. Yue feared the King of Qinghe, Tan, in the end would become the successor. He fabricated a decree to restrain and turn him over to Jinyongcheng, and soon after murdered him.
Wang Mi entered Xu. Yue dispatched the Marshal of the Left, Wang Bin, to lead 5 000 armoured soldiers to guard the Imperial Capital. Juancheng was itself a ruin, and Yue loathed it. He changed to station at Puyang, and then again moved Xingyang.
He summoned Tian Zhen and others, six leaders. Zhen did not accept the instructions, and Yue dispatched the Army Overseer Liu Wang to chastise Zhen. Earlier, when the Duke of Dongyin, Teng, had garrisoned Ye, he had pulled along the Bing province generals Tian Zhen, Zhen's younger brother Lan, Ren Zhi, Qi Ji, Li Yun, Bo Sheng, and others, with their divisions, more than ten thousand people, to arrive at Ye. He dispatched them to go and find grain in Ji province, titling them “Beg to Live”. When Teng was defeated, Zhen and others intercepted and routed Ji Sang at Chiqiao, and Yue used Zhen as Ji commandery, and Lan as Grand Warden of Julu. Zhen sought Wei commandery but Yue did not allow it. Zhen was furious and for that reason did not arrive at the summons. When Wang had crossed the He, Zhen withdrew. Li Yun and Bo Sheng beheaded Tian Lan, and led their multitudes to surrender. Zhen, Zhi, and Ji abandoned their armies and ran to Shangdang.
Yue returned from Xingyang to Luoyang and used the Great School as his headquarters. He suspected the court officials of disloyalty to himself, and therefore falsely accused the Emperor's maternal uncle Wang Yan and others of making chaos. He dispatched Wang Jing to lead 3 000 armoured soldiers to enter the palace and restrain Yan and others. He turned them over to the Commandant of Justice and killed them.
Yue let go of Shepherd of Yan province, and acted as Minister over the Masses. Yue already had formed a grudge with Gou Xi, and also considered that off the affairs that had risen recently, many were caused by the throne-hall departments. He therefore petitioned for those among the lodged guards who held feudal rank as marquis be dismissed. At the time military officials within the throne-hall had all been ennobled as marquises, and because of that, those sent out were roughly everyone, all cried and wept, and departed. He then used the state of Donghai's General of the Upper Army, He Lun, as General of Guards of the Right, and Wang Jing as General of Guards of the Left, to lead several hundred state troops as the lodged guard.

Bao Tao
BAO TAO (鮑韜)
(? ~ 190)
Bao Tao was from Pingyang County, Taishan Commandery, Yan Province. He is a son of Bao Dan (鮑丹), younger brother of Bao Xin (鮑信) and a descendent of Bao Xuan (鮑宣).
In 189, Bao Tao and Bao Xin raised troops in their homeland on the orders of He Jin (何進), however, Dong Zhuo (董卓) had taken control of the government before they returned. Bao Xin attempted to persuade Yuan Shao (袁紹) to act quickly against Dong Zhuo but Yuan Shao was afraid and did not make a move.
Bao Tao and Bao Xin once again went back to Taishan to raise more soldiers and with twenty-thousand soldiers, seven-hundred cavalry, and five-thousand wagons of supplies, they joined the quickly forming coalition against Dong Zhuo. Bao Xin and Bao Tao rendezvoused with Cao Cao (曹操) at Chenliu Commandery. Cao Cao and Yuan Shao petitioned for appointing Bao Xin as General Who Smashes Caitiffs and Bao Tao as Major-General.
Reinforced by Zhang Miao’s (張邈) officer Wei Zi (衛玆), Bao Tao followed Cao Cao to Xingyang. Dong Zhuo’s officer Xu Rong (徐榮) gave battle to this contingent at the Bian River, destroying them. Cao Cao was shot and barely escaped, Bao Xin was injured, Wei Zi and Bao Tao were killed in action.

Thanks for answering my ask.....if you don't mind me asking (again), who are your favorite romantic relationship's couples in books/ manga/ anime/movies/tv series (can be canon or non-canon)? Why do you love them? Sorry if you've answered this question before......Thanks....
Hi again! No, thank you for asking! This was a fun ask to receive! 🌺
Sephiroth/Cloud Strife (Final Fantasy VII, non-canon): Most extreme case of 'never meet your idols' lol Ah, the homoeroticism of being mortal enemies :) I enjoy the poetry of Cloud, sixteen years old and three whole ounces of whoop ass, stabbing and throwing the man he used to consider his hero into a mako pit. Sephiroth obsessively haunting Cloud like a fucked up ghoul and constantly trying to girlboss gatekeep gaslight his way to complete world domination is also very fun to me. Sephiroth latching onto Cloud's memories of him as a way to keep his own identity of self...Also, I simply cannot get over Sephiroth looking at the man who killed him with BEDROOM EYES and spewing the most homoerotic shit imaginable (like, what do you mean "don't deny me, embrace me"!!! is this a game to you!??!). Anyway, I just think they're neat :)
Yan Xiaohan/Fu Shen (Golden Terrace, canon): All time favorite! Political rivals to power couple! I love these two so much. They're so romantic, their affection felt like sugar injected straight into my veins haha. I can't even come up with a single thing I love about them because I simply love everything about them! They're peak romance?? Listen, if you are interested in novels set in a historical setting, I am holding your hands and BEGGING you to purchase Golden Terrace. It's such a good novel, you won't regret it!
Yan Zhengming/Cheng Qian (Liu Yao: The Revitalization of Fuyao Sect, canon): Now, these two! No matter, no matter what, I always go back to these two. This is one of my comfort ships, mostly because they are so entertaining! Their characters are so different, yet at their core, they have the same values and goal, so it is very fun to watch how these two's clashing personalities actually compliment each other. Plus, they're just very funny, okay?? PRIEST is a comedian lol
Xie Jingxing/Shen Miao (The Rebirth of the Malicious Empress of Military Lineage, canon): The epitome of couples who scheme together stay together! Their evolution was gradual and so satisfying to me. I enjoyed how they went from scheming acquaintences who could barely stand each other (like, I know for a fact that my girl Shen Miao fantasized having Xie Jingxing dragged off to be executed for the unforgivable crime of being a meddling annoyance—deserved lol) to allies with grudging respect towards each other and a common goal to a devoted power couple who brought a country to its knees. Xie Jingxing's constant sneaking into Shen Miao's bedroom dead into the night to plot/banter/play qi/press her buttons until she's gnashing her teeth is something i remember very fondly lol.
