Yoonmin Run Ep Project: Week 8

This is the last week, and we’re wrapping things up with everyone’s favorite gal, Yoonji (ep 11).

Something I noticed, that’s speculation (⚠️ 🤡), is that Yoongi often seems to direct his attention toward Jimin, even with the other members there. He also seems to enjoy making Jimin laugh. Often when he does something silly, he’ll check Jimin’s reaction out of the corner of his eye. This isn’t limited to ep 11, this has happened many times over the years. Anyway…we see an example of it toward the beginning of this episode:

This is a matter of opinion I suppose, but…Yoongi isn’t looking at Jk here. And he appears to be looking past the cluster of Tae/Joon/Jin. So, that leaves Jimin and Hobi.

Next, the guys have a meeting while Yoongi is getting his makeover. Jimin says, “I don’t think he is going to accept any of us. I know him well. It’s obvious how it’s going to turn out.”

Interesting! Jimin seems eager to demonstrate how well he knows Yoongi. This is another little habit that seems open to interpretation. How many times over the years has Jimin said things that indicate he is special to Yoongi? (“He’ll choose me no matter what,” Jimin being eager to always be the one to call Yoongi when he’s not there, “I went to his house and saw him making lots of faces to the dog,” “I’m your tangerine, Jimin”…I could go on and on!)

Jimin seems so smitten from the very beginning. Were the hands necessary here? Yoongi is doing his “pleased but trying not to show it” face. They’re both enjoying this a little too much!

During Jimin’s turn, he basically doesn’t get to interact with Yoongi because Yoonji tells him to keep walking! We do get to see Jimin and Yoongi rehearsing prior to the “final” version.

Jimin is blushing and looks flustered. To me, his reaction is distinct compared to the other members. Why would that be? And why would he get skipped over for his “real” turn? Was it because the trial run was a little too revealing? Hmm.

During their final comments, Jimin says to Yoongi, “You were really good.” And not long after, he says, “Suga did really well.” This is a popular clip within the yoonminer community, so I’m sure you’ve seen it before. What doesn’t get discussed as often is when Yoongi says teasingly, “Your performance was really outstanding today. Please share your thoughts, Jimin.” Jimin gives his thoughts and then Yoongi says:

And what’s funny is that the Jimin and Yoonji combo continued to be a thing…why?!
