I played D&D yesterday at a board game store and I am still a bit shook from it. This isn't a D&D horror story but there's a few things I need to vent about.
- the DM who we did not know handed us character sheets. Apparently this had been agreed with the guy from my group who was arranging everything but he forgot to tell everyone?
- I never related more to a drag queen who gets the role on a ruchallenge they hate. I was forced to play a low charisma wizard whose whole thing was being religious. I did rly good and moved the plot along despite this horrible character, I killed it.
- Anyway straight men are animals they immediately go "IM ROGUE" "IM BARBARIAN". They don't even read the character description or backstory. Or ask me and the other girl in the group if we wanted to read the roles first??
- nobody was doing character voice 🫠 "he says x" "he asks why"-- I interrupted the other players to speak like the characters and they were just stuborn. Especially the straight men they barely used dialogue they only wanted to fight?
- one of the things I HATED the most was that I got a crystal (important plot device) and one of the straights says a) he wants to break it. I start *discussing* with the group that I don't think that's a good choice. B) suddenly the guy says "I take the crystal from her and save it on my things."
????
- me and the group and still discussing what to do with the crystal but the guy decides he takes it and doesn't need to roll or interact/ask me. He then triggers a boss to appear who wants the crystal.
- Before we can discuss as a group why we should give him the crystal the same guy throws the crustal at the guy??
- The DM who had obviously put some effort into describing the boss and voice for the boss just goes ok. I guess he leaves with the crystal then.
- the same guy says he wants to fight the boss. Not for the crystal. Just because he wants ti fight.
- I see the horror flash on the DMs eyes. This is obviously a very high level boss to fight later in the campaign. He even goes "are you sure..?" I save it by saying no obviously not. We already lost the crystal let's not get killed too. Dm says "good choice".
- playing in a boardgame store is horrible. There's so much noise. I have adhd and oh my god. Also dm said something rly serious to my character and I couldn't understand him and didn't wanna ask him to repeat himself bc he did character voice and it was a tense moment.
- straight men's characters kept trying to "go investigate on their own". Boy we just started the campaign??? Maybe idk we should stick together. One of them kept "I go way ahead of them" or "I go way in the back". Which triggered events without us being there yet. At some point the DM ignored the guy and just spoke like he was there with us too.
- I was the only one (aside from dm) actually roleplaying and doing voices.
- one of the guys was mad the dm didn't let him use his own figure on the map even though it was three times the size of the figures the dm had for us.
- I am 100% sure the men were angry I was the hero of the battle we had. (It was bush like creatures and I used burning hands... They were all upset at the dm when the attacks they used barely did anything. And I mean actually arguing.
Anyway I just to take this out of my chest. They also kept asking for feedback/compliments on WhatsApp and I was nice and said I rly liked meeting with them and the dm was way better than I had imaged. And the guy that stole my crystal without asking and almost ruined the game an off comment about me being "uncomfortable" because I didn't join them for dinner after (worded like an accusation)? 🫠 And didn't even say anything about me carrying the game and helping him with his fuck ups. But ok.

Pick-A-Pile - Kinky Future Spouse (18+)
Hello and welcome to another Pick-a-Pile tarot reading.
One of the responses in the anonymous poll I posted a while ago suggested that I could do a kinky version of Future Spouse Pick-a-Pile reading.
Disclaimer: Please remember, this is a general reading, pick what resonates with you and dismiss the rest. This tarot reading was done for entertainment purposes only and you should never base important life decisions on a tarot reading only. Be aware that I can never guarantee any of what is said in the reading. Tarot isn’t an exact science and while there is a certain level of accuracy or resonance, you should take it lightly and with a grain of salt. Please don’t copy my work or parts of it to pretend it’s yours. All my tarot readings are protected with a karma spell and if you have malicious intentions with them, the universe will take care of your punishment. :-) This tarot reading includes mature content. Please don’t read any further if you are a minor or you feel uncomfortable with it.
Let’s get down to business, shall we? You know the drill. You pick one of the pics below and scroll to the assigned reading. Follow your intuition. If you feel drawn to more than just one pile, read the other(s), too. Leaving a brief feedback or thank you note is considered good manners. Pile 1 - Vishnu (Balance)
Tumblr media
Cards:
The Wild Unknown Animal Spirit - Cheetah, Shark
Oracle of the Radiant Sun - Sun in Taurus (Acquisition), Sun in Aquarius (Idealism)
The Edgar Allan Poe Tarot - King of Cups, 4 of Wands, 7 of Swords
The Dark Wood Tarot - King of Swords, 3 of Pentacles, King of Cups
Interpretation
Your future spouse, my dear Pile 1, is someone mature and with a greatly balanced nature. They don’t really like dramas or outbursts of emotions. That doesn’t mean they are cold, though.
When in a relationship, they are likely to take a dominant role. Not by force but simply because of their leadership qualities. They are either older than you, my dear Pile 1, or they are simply more mature and you feel an instinctive urge to rely on them and look up to them. They are likely to play the role of your mentor or teacher and they truly love such a position, I can tell you. They might even insist on the teacher / student roleplaying in the bedroom. While they look pretty stoic on the outside, great passions and desires are boiling within them and they only wait for the right moment to express their true nature. They are highly passionate and have boundless energy in them so when you suggest a night together, be prepared it may very well last till dawn and beyond. Your future spouse is someone pretty direct so don’t worry about not being sure what they want. They will tell you, sometimes with brutal honesty and biologically accurate details, maybe even making a full blown presentation with anatomy posters, powerpoint presentation and worksheets for you to fill in. They have that teacher energy in them after all.
Your future spouse is a thinker and visionary. In public they probably play their professor role seamlessly but behind closed doors, in the comfort of their home, their love for anything new and gadgets of all kinds can result in building a super equipped play room and I’m not talking about PlayStation and stacks of video games now. Your boo has an interest in toys but not only in Legos for adults. While they might spend hours building their Death Star when you are not around, my dear Pile 1, they will show you completely different kinds of toys and rechargeable gadgets when you come. They are the explorers and while they are passionate, sometimes they might insist on nights when they simply experiment with all their toys and tools on you, noting down the levels of pleasure they can incite in you (and you know they have detailed charts and graphs for that). The scientist in them might even want to record these sessions. If you don’t like the idea of being on camera while your future spouse is trying to find out what size of glowing dildo is too much for you to take, they might ask you to consent with them taking at least the sound recording. When you are away again and their Death Star is complete, they will diligently listen and analyse the recordings and you know they will have a good time.
With all this said, you probably understand why they might prefer hanging out in their place. If you don’t live together, you might notice how often they suggest you go to their place. Their home is very important to them and they probably won’t feel very comfortable anywhere else. They might not be even able to unleash, unless they are safely locked up in their house or apartment. They have the equipment and gadgets there after all, it would take days to move it all to your place for him to play there.
Your future spouse, my dear Pile 1, is a person with drive and determined to achieve what they have planned. If they pick you to be their lover and special person, you should know they have already put a label with their name on you, at least in their head. Don’t try to lie or deceit them, don’t even take any risks by hanging out with friends you know have a crush on you. Your otherwise mature professor can easily change into a green-eyed jealous and possessive monster. They don’t like to share their toys with others. They like to share their thoughts, ideas and knowledge and at a certain point of your relationship you might find out they are writing a blog with all the details of love making sessions in it (with code name for you, of course) simply to share what they have learned in terms of sexual pleasure. And if they don’t have a blog online, they do have detailed records in the locked cabinet where you will one day be allowed to look if you are a good enough student to them.
Summary
Position: Teacher Dom
Libido: Strong but under their control
Turn-On: Anyone willing to play and experiment with them and be their good student
Kink: Toys, Gadgets, Camera and Sound Recordings
Dirty Secret: Their locked cabinet or strong password protected laptop, they will never let you play with their Legos
You can always buy me a cup of tea through ko-fi (because Kleo doesn’t really drink coffee but she’s a tea addict).

Pile 2 - Garuda (Travel)
Tumblr media
Cards:
The Wild Unknown Animal Spirit - Crocodile, Zebra
Oracle of the Radiant Sun - Mercury in Capricorn (Organization), Moon in Aquarius (Independance)
The Edgar Allan Poe Tarot - 0 The Fool, 10 of Pentacles, VI The Lovers
The Dark Wood Tarot - Knight of Pentacles, 2 of Cups, 4 of Wands
Interpretation
Hello, my dear Pile 2, and welcome to your kinky future spouse reading. First of all, your future spouse might actually take a more submissive position in a relationship with you. They might prefer to stay in their world and let you handle all the pesky everyday life matters. It’s not because they would want you to boss them around, it’s more like they like to withdraw with intention to observe, learn and gain power while staying behind the scenes. In front of your friends and family, they are likely to seem very well cultured and timid and ask curious questions. It’s very likely your family will instantly love them as they truly give a solid and reliable impression.
And your future spouse, my dear Pile 2, is truly an excellent person. They can be so shrewd, practical, organised and ambitious when it comes to their work. On the other hand, they might suffer from commitment issues and have trouble expressing romantic feelings. At first, to avoid dating you, they are probably going to suggest the concept of friends with benefits to you because they cherish their freedom so much. They like to rationalise their own feelings and even your feelings when it comes to it and simply suppress them. Hanging out as friends while enjoying the hottest sex in the meantime is their thing so you better make peace with it.
And you won’t regret it, my dear Pile 2, because your future spouse is an inventive and methodical person. They like to take it one step at a time, nice and slow, building the tension and expectation and the heat. They like to succeed, they want to gain your recognition, your pleasure is their goal and they’ll prepare most diligently to succeed. While they might not want to be bossed around in front of people, they are open to your demands in the bedroom. They might have a thing for dirty talk, as Mercury is a planet of communication. They probably prefer the dirty talk to be spiced up with some witty sense of humour, they value wits and intelligence so try to get a bit more eloquent and original with your words.
It’s very likely for your future spouse to have their tongue skilled in other areas but communication as well. Feel free to order them to kneel in front of you and give you the best oral of your lifetime.
I have mentioned before that your future spouse likes to take their time. If it’s something you’re into, they will love to edge you or deny you release for ages, watching you sweating, moaning and squirming in front of them. It applies the other way round, too, of course. They might ask you, probably a bit shyly, to keep them on the edge and play with them for hours. And they are skilled with words, they will praise you for sweetly torturing them and encourage you to push the limits of their endurance. They are quite adventurous, after all. You two might even find pleasure in experimenting with bondage or other types of restrictive toys. Your future spouse likes to repress their feelings and they might have a little masochistic kink for being restrained physically, too. Let them pull the ropes or chains, make them wait, simp over you, beg you to come closer or to finally let them cum.
And they will still insist you are only friends with benefits. Lol! During all this wild action, your future spouse is likely to grow addicted to you, unintentionally, they build a deep spiritual and loving bond with you. They might struggle telling you but being open to their needs they usually hide in front of people because they feel slightly ashamed of them, which makes them truly fall in love with you. You become their kindred spirit, their only love. Once they finally stop lying to themselves, they will come clean and declare their love and endless loyalty to you. And you can depend on them being there for you for the rest of your lifetime because as hard it is for them to confess their feelings, it’s much harder to let them go. Once you become their one and special person, they might switch into daddy (or mommy) mode quickly. Your future spouse, insisting on you staying friends with benefits only a month ago, suddenly proposes to you and nudges you about the wedding date, about starting a family and all this. Because deep down, they love the idea of having children with you. Again, they might develop a little bit of breeding kink on the way. Your future spouse is kinky, no matter how they try to hide it.
Summary
Position: Submissive, sometimes to the masochistic level
Libido: Strong sex drive but they try to suppress it
Turn-On: A friend with benefits
Kink: Edging, denial, oral - both giving and receiving -, bondage, handcuffs, possibly a breeding kink
Dirty Secret: They fall in love in the process and start planning wedding and babies

Pile 3 - Osiris (Renewal)
Tumblr media
Cards:
The Wild Unknown Animal Spirit - Wolf, Unicorn
Oracle of the Radiant Sun - Jupiter in Libra (Negotiation), Mercury in Cancer (Intuition)
The Edgar Allan Poe Tarot - Knight of Pentacles, 2 of Cups, 5 of Pentacles
The Dark Wood Tarot - VII The Chariot, 6 of Swords, XVIII The Moon
Interpretation:
My dear pile 3, your future spouse is all about the emotions and nourishment. They are likely to have leadership qualities but just like in a wolf pack, they are very compassionate to their friends and family and leave nobody behind. They are likely to enter your life in order to help you heal and ascend to your higher and better self because their ability to soothe and nourish and help with transitions and renewals is uncanny. From the day one of your acquaintance they become your confidant and shoulder to cry on or your gossip pal and party partner. Depends on what you need at the moment because this person can play any role. They are all about equality in a partnership, they are not likely to boss you around more like gently suggesting their ideas on how things should be in between you, how the household should run, leaving you enough space to express your points of view on the matters. If you decide you want them to fully manage certain aspects of your life, you can completely rely on them doing their best, never slacking or forgetting their tasks and duties. If you want to keep something in your hands and have the deciding vote, your future spouse can diplomatically accept it, it’s not hurting their ego as they consider you capable and competent.
Your future spouse, my dear pile 3, is a sociable and caring person, they are likely to have a well populated circle of close friends and they nourish their friendships most diligently so be ready to meet those people soon after starting dating your future spouse. They want to incorporate you as soon as possible.
Thoughts and feelings are inseparable for your future spouse and they tend to let the past experiences affect the current situations. It might make them a little conservative in the bedroom as they prefer to stick to what felt good last time. On the other hand, they do have a very curious mind and might have tons of materials in their bookshelf. They probably have read the whole of Kamasutra and absorbed the information effortlessly without feeling any need to actually try any of the positions. It’s up to you to gently guide them towards a more active approach. It might take a while as your future spouse is slow to act but the better is their preparation. They might whine that they need to read a few more articles before they agree to try anything new in the bedroom. Let them. It’s for the best. Remember, that if the first time they try something feels in any way off for them, they will remember it and probably never try again. Be patient with them, go through the articles with them, make a plan for the night, memorise the safe word, do anything to ensure that whatever new activity you are going to try, it will be a pleasant experience.
You might feel a little put off by all this, my dear pile 3, but on the positive side, your future partner is a pleaser. If you can withstand the whole prep phase, they will do anything to give you the best Os in your life. Your future spouse has very strong intuition, they can easily tune in with your vibe, they have magnificent imagination and fantasy and they are methodical. Their memory is absolutely excellent. All these qualities allow them to learn and apply anything you find pleasing. After the first night they know all your sweet spots like the back of their own hand. And they are consistent. They never cut corners when it comes to their priorities. They are likely to deliver the best performance every single time.
Your future spouse, my dear pile 3, is likely to be the one to start thinking about marriage first. They might throw hints here and there because spiritual bond is everything to them and if they click with you, they are convinced it’s for the lifetime. Make sure to feel the same about it before you say your ‘I do’ to them because one thing your future spouse is worried about and is insecure is abandonment. They might throw jealous scenes occasionally but it’s only because of their fear of losing you. Make them believe that you’re not going anywhere and you are staying by their side.
Your future spouse has a talent for writing and has a vivid imagination. When you do have to separate from each other, you might keep the flames of love alive through sexting. This will reduce your spouse’s anxiety and insecurity and allow you both to indulge in some spicy fantasies.
While your future spouse is planning their life with you and starting a family, in this case the cards suggest they might prefer to bring up pets with you rather than children. It doesn’t mean your future spouse doesn’t like children but they might prefer to have a dog or dogs at home instead if it’s something you prefer as well. Simply, if you’re not the parent type, they won’t cry because of it and will happily adopt a puppy from a dog shelter with you (or a whole wolf pack).
Summary
Position: Equal partnership
Libido: Conservative but pleaser and with knowledge and imagination
Turn-On: A pet friendly person, patient
Kink: Sticking to what they know, sexting
Dirty Secret: Abandonment issues, not necessarily into having children

And this is the end of the reading. I hope you had fun, I know I had when writing it (it took me 3 days...). I'm sorry, for the miserable quality of the photos but I don't really have a good camera. 😟
Anyway! Bless you all! Leave me a comment or ask in the box which pile you picked, what resonated with you and what didn't.

Since the anons feel that the dollhouse au is too cute to be real horror, I shall try to submit more scary yandere asks. I already gave you the analog horror idea. Now, imagine Toy Story with a twist. When it comes to dolls, kids like to roleplay and such. As a little girl, MC has gone through all the tropes—especially the Prince Charming and Fairy Tales. Imagine if she ends up inviting or being invited by a playmate and said playmate ends up taking the roles of that some dolls consider to be theirs alone??? Also, MC starts missing special days that she dubs "costume day" where she makes new outfits for the dolls or "tea party day" where she just sings/dances with the dolls while having a tea party. At first, they tolerate it since she's happy and they still get to participate in playtime...but when that playmate starts getting cocky and makes fun of MC??? The chaos, the scheming...that kid will never have a peaceful life, or have a life at all by the time he gets back home.
Three days later, that playmate is moving away with their family but then got involved in a car accident. Police says faulty brakes are to blame. How tragic.
☆Starlight Anon
Continuation: Better yet in that childhood playmate asks is if the kid remained sincerely but the dolls got annoyed anyway because...well, they're all possessive yanderes for MC lol Warnings: Blood, violence, horror, child's death (all in a nightmare.. technically) dead dove do not eat, read at your own risk. Well, it looked innocent enough? Your new friend was an attention seeker even at a young age she was proud and maybe a bit arrogant but hey she was just a kid.
When she told you about many things she knew and did and showed you things that made your eyes sparkle you thought that she was so cool, that she was amazing! You tried to come into her life finding her so amazing and she let you with a smug smile.
The relationship was cute really, the way you would follow her wherever she went in the school. She was your best friend or that was supposed to be the case. She was a spoiled girl, she wanted everything for herself, the play dates of roleplay games you and her played all had her become the princess or the lady while you were either the prince or the maid that was supposed to save her or serve her.
She would never let you become the princess of the story, even if you want to be even if you voice it she would not give it to you. Even if your parents saw it, their mother didn't know what to do with her while your mother would say that it was all right. But you can also see the concern she had looking over you.
But you liked her... you like her as a friend so you can't help but stick to her. She was so cool really.
Even as she took everything from your small hands.
Yet it seems there was a tipping point, it was bound to happen one day or another she only continued to grow hotty and selfish. It was that time when you were playing at the playground sandbox, you and she were playing with your dolls something about princess and knights with her own doll. As the princess, she commanded the attention of all the knights to her telling them that they should fall for her looks and charms. That they must swear an oath to her as the princess to protect her.
It was slowly getting dark when both yours and her parents called you and her telling you that you need to go back home now. Getting up you tried to take your dolls back but it seems that she started to take a liking to a few of them refusing to give them back to you.
"Give them back." You asked, so close to crying. "Don't be a crybaby I am just borrowing your dolls." She huffed as she held on to your dear dolls close. You didn't understand why she was taking your dolls when you told her no but she kept on insisting that she was just borrowing them to continue the roleplay back at her home.
Before you could do anything she was running back to her mother, who asked what those dolls were and why she has them. "Oh, ______ let me borrow them."
Your mother found you sniffling in the sandbox, crying in her arms you told her what happened.
However it was too late to get them back, your mother would try to get them back but she didn't have the phone number of the girl's mother nor does she know where does that girl live.
She told you that she would try to get them the next day yet that never happened.
Her father had somehow found your home past midnight and dropped off the dolls, apologizing to you and your family for his daughter and coming so late in the night. While he would have given these dolls later at a more appropriate time his daughter has been screaming ever since midnight.
She continued to chant at the dolls to get away from her, throwing them to the farthest corner. They tried to do everything to calm the girl down but she kept of screeching that it hurts and to make the pain stop. They could not calm her down and this was the last thing they thought of. Your parents showed concern for the tired man and thanked him for giving them back your dolls. You were also happy that your dolls have been returned but even you were concerned to what happened to your friend.
But she didn't come to school the next day but you heard the teachers whisper among each other that she was at the hospital, from screaming so much to the point of coughing out blood. Nothing was working and she kept on begging someone whom the parents and doctors don't know to leave her, to let her go.
You don't need to know really. It was her fault after all.
Dressed in a beautiful princess dress and a tiara on her head her stomach was decorated with many swords pierced through her. Over and over she would be a prince to nothing but a corps on the ground.
Over and over faceless knights stabbed her stomach within a dreary castle. She was all alone, she could not see reality even with her eyes open. She could not see the white walls of the hospital but a brick wall covered in blood as another sword price through her abdomen.
So matter how many swords pierced her there was always room for one more.
The pain doesn't numb at all, and when the small girl screamed again and again to stop it never did.
Tumblr media
Note: What a dream... if she heals she won't be wearing any more princess dresses or tiaras looking at them would probably make her sick

hi! firstly, i wanted to thank you for your blog :) its actually gotten me into ttrpgs and you run a great service! secondly! im in the market for a two player ttprg for people who… haven't exactly played ttrpgs ever before! we both like the genres horror and comedy. as for mechanics, we love character creation and coming up with lore / improv on the fly! any games that fit this would be great. thank you so much, mint!
THEME: Duet Games for Beginners
Hello, and thank you so much for your message! Welcome to the hobby, there’s oodles of fantastic games out there and I’m glad that you find my posts helpful. Let’s get started, shall we?
First of all, I’m also going to shout out @jeffstormer 's Party of One podcast, which was my jumping off point for looking for 2-player games that would work for you. I heavily recommend checking him out, as he has years of experience playing (and running) games for two, regardless of whether they’re designed to be played that way.
Second of all, I tried to recommend games that either come with a lot of tools or that are pretty short, because I wanted to give you options that either really guide you through the process or don't overwhelm you with instructions. Your mileage may vary, but I hope something here stands out!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Dead Friend: A Game of Necromancy, by Ghostly Rituals.
Dead Friend is a roleplaying game for a necromancer and a ghost. That is, it's a collaborative storytelling game for two players. You will each play the role of a friend, one living and one dead. You will ask and answer questions to develop the characters, their community, their history together, and the motivations leading up to their final conflict.
The script follows the dramatic structure of a necromancy ritual, and you will use the spellbook of instructions throughout the entire game like a witch reading spells from an ancient grimoire. The mood may be spooky or intimate, heartwrenching or hilarious — it is up to you as storytellers. Dead Friend requires 1 Tarot deck or 1 deck of mundane playing cards.
I think this game looks like a good combination of horror and comedy, as it carries horrific tones but allows you to choose the mood. You’ll be answering question prompts throughout the game using tarot cards, so this is another excellent method of creating lore as you play. This game has an actual play episode of it with Jeff Stormer and Dani Costello that you can listen to if you want an example of play as well!
Standoff, by Matthew R.F. Baloušek.
The necromancer shrieks with cruel laughter, plunging the glowing dagger into the warrior's heart. "Fool! All your struggle was for naught. Your soul will be but a tasty morsel for my dark master!"
He starts to pull the dagger out, but finds his wrist stopped cold by Francesca's iron grip. She stares back with an icy glare. A glint of light catches the necromancer's eye, and he looks down to see the talisman of protection.
Wresting the dagger from the necromancer's cold hands, Francesca grins. "I hid all my vital organs in a pocket dimension!" Taking a free hand to dip a finger in what appeared to be blood, she tastes it and chortles. "You wasted the ichor of Ag'tekk on nothing more than a large ketchup packet!"
Standoff is a game where everyone works together to tell a ridiculous story full of twists, ripostes, counter-feints, and triple-double-crosses.
This is a chance to take turns one-upping each-other in a world of your own design. You’ll need a number of index cards in order to write down what you introduce to the world, but little else. What I appreciate about this game is the structure it provides - I find that structured sections and examples help new players get used to coming up with pieces as they go.
This is improv comedy at its finest - and it can also play with a larger group! There aren’t specific characters assigned to each player, but if you want to take more responsibility for either the Protagonist or the Antagonist then you should still be able to do that. This game looks exceptional, and I hope you check it out!
What’s A Vapourwave, by fen slattery.
A two-player, 200 word RPG about explaining vaporwave to your grandpa. Based on a true story.
One player is Casey, who kinda knows what vaporwave is. Another is Grandpa, who loves Casey and wants to understand their life. Played via text message.
This is a simple game that can be played via text message that navigates a humorous attempt at a grandfather doing his best to understand his grandchild. I love the aesthetic of this game, and I can see how easy it is to let the conversation within this game devolve into hilarity.
Heart Full of Trash, by StarshineScribbles.
Heart Full Of Trash is a  2-player roleplaying game where you play as raccoons on a date!
Sort your recycling as you create your characters and tell the story of their romantic endeavours. Will your date be a triumph or will your raccoons develop a deep and long-lasting friendship?
Either way, by the time the game is over, your recycling will be sorted and ready for correct disposal.
This is an adorably cute game that leans much closer to the comedy side of your request. The two of you will actually sort your recycling as you role-play - so since you’re using something you already have in your house, you don’t need to go and buy any extra gaming materials! This game is a bit closer to an improve game as well, so it might be a good introduction for someone who is less familiar with traditional character sheets and rolling dice.
You’re in Space and Everything’s Fucked, by Nevyn Holmes.
You’re in Space and Everything’s Fucked is a love letter to sci-fi cosmic horror and gore-filled splatter films.
You're In Space And Everything's Fucked emulates the trappings of isolation space horror video games through the lens of a tabletop role-playing game and is inspired by similarly fucked-up situations found in the Dead Space, System Shock, and Alien franchises.
The Station takes on the role of monsters and setting; generating both as the Struggler explores. They take a bird's-eye-view of the story and throw obstacles and objectives at the Struggler.
The Struggler fills the boots of the hapless sap that ended up in this situation. They scavenge, sneak, and generally work to survive by any means necessary in the face of horrifying creatures and untrustworthy NPCs.
The Demo version of this game is designed for two players, although it looks like the Kickstarter that Dinoberry Press ran back in March is for a bigger game down the road. The game includes a character creation section, a hint of map generation, and a handful of generated Boss Monsters! Because you generate the map as you go, I think this gives you a chance to come up with lore as you go. If you want chilling horror and a constant struggle for survival, this is the game for you.

The Problem with Alignments
Tumblr media
With me now playing a lot more DnD, I really want to talk about the Alignment System. Because on one hand I like it - but on the other hand there is a big problem with it.
Let me illustrate by telling you about my first experience with DnD (outside of Neverwinter Nights and the old Baldur's Gate games) was with a really bad DM. A DM who very well managed to make DnD very unfun. For one, because he insisted that we had to role for simple things like player interaction. But also... Because he kept telling us, what our characters would do. This did not only afflict me, but all players. But let me tell you about my experience.
I chose to play a true neutral wizard, who was a bit removed from humanity, after having lived as an hermit for several years. And this lead to the following constant interaction: "Oh, your character would not do that. Because he is true neutral character, so he will never pick a side."
Of course, this also betrays a very misunderstanding of what true neutral means within the game. And in general it is a shitty thing for a DM to just tell you how to play your character. But it also betrays the problem with the alignment and some people see it: As something that is prescriptive, rather than descriptive. Yes, it is supposed to give you some idea how your character might act - but in the end it is still your character.
Especially because... Actions in of themselves do not necessarily say something about good and bad.
Let me talk about my Tav from BG3 for this one. See, my Tav tends to go out of his way to leave people - including the bad guys, that I can get away with in this regard - alive, much to the annoyance of Astarion, who really wants to murder some people. xD In fact, my Tav will at times try to work with the bad guys - as long as it does not mean killing anyone. Which could mean he was somewhere along the neutral alignment. But that is actually not how I play him. I play him as a good person, who wants to do right by everyone. Someone, that thinks, that pretty much everyone has good in them and should be able to do good. Hence, he tries to get everyone to do good.
And stuff like that is very possible, of course. More so on an actual table (if you have a good DM), of course, than in a game where the developers really cannot predict every single player decision.
For example, you also could play an evil character, who is very much for letting everyone live, because he reasons that them living will lead to greater suffering for them.
But therein lies the issue. We often have these preformed notion on what good and evil are. And that often can lead to hempering the roleplay - especially with less experienced players.
And then there is the other issue. The issue that has probably been discussed to death already. And that is the thing about species being prescribed a certain alignment in general. We had that whole discussion about orcs, drow and the inherent racist implication of the "those are always evil" thing going on. Which is why this was of course removed by now, at least for player species. But... We still have this thing as a rule of thumb going for species that are generally not accessible to players.
Given my current Themberchaud obsession, let me take chromatic dragons as an example. In general red dragons are assumed to be evil. As in: it is their nature to be cruel and greedy and all of that. And I say... that makes for kinda shitty storytelling.
Because here is the thing: Even someone whose first instinct it is to do bad... can do good. In fact that makes for a lot of interesting character beats.
I actually think that this where BG3 really shines. Lae'zel and Astarion are both evil. But depending on how you interact with them they can both be good people by the end of the game. Yes, for Astarion doing bad and being cruel is kinda his first instinct - but he can actually act against that instinct. And that is actually what makes him such a compelling character.
And that kinda is my issue with the alignment chart. Yes, you can make such compelling stories - but I also know that a lot of people that are inexperienced roleplayers will take their chosen alignment as a form of gospel and then just never have the character challenge it.
Which is really what I see as an issue there. Because... Well, given that we know and want characters to have a development... Why not just abandon the alignment chart?

Game Garage: Lancer
Hello! Welcome to what I hope to be the first instance of a series about Game design and clever usages thereof in Tabletop games! We'll be talking about lancer, it was the first post on this blog so I felt it was fitting, we'll be going through standard character creations from License Level 0 til License Level 3, and showing how our mech, and pilot, grows during that time while playing out a theoretical game. Is this just like the example of plays in the actual books? Yes! But I wish to go for some more mechanical depths than those often do, and try to theorize around certain decisions made in a specific game.
I'll be using Comp/Con as a visual for this guide, I'm aware there's other ways to do mech building but basically everyone agrees you should just use Compcon for it, also while I'll avoid using expansions too much, I'll still assume you at minimum have KTB as it adds some pilot-side customization
LL0: Beginnings
Tumblr media
You are immediately prompted to give a portrait, name, Callsign, and a background to your character, already just giving your character a callsign adds that little bit of personality to them! Lancer is primarily focused on the tactics side, rather than the roleplay side, but these little things do really help in fleshing out a character's personality, as that's still a factor.
I'll also give a quick shout out to Comp/Con for having the sickest UI of any webapp for a ttrpg i've seen, intuitive and strangely immersive, I really like it
Tumblr media
Thracia was a project by a shadowy, now defunct, corporation to create a spokesperson for their gene editing services, the company went defunct before she turned 3, so she was just thrown away into some bin somewhere. She was eventually picked up by a gang of mercs who brought her back to base where she was effectively communally raised before joining the corps proper at age 20.
Now that we've filled out some simple flavor, lets move on to proper stat creation
Tumblr media
We're brought to a stat creation screen, these don't matter too much in combat, but outside of them they're what your character specializes in, their role outside of the mechs. Don't sweat these too much, you can respect at any level up in lancer, and this won't matter too much outside of on the floor missions, which barely happen
Tumblr media
For now, Thracia's good at fighting, investigating, and leading and inspiring, its what she was built for after all!
Tumblr media
Now we get to talents, these are vaguely intimidating at first glance, but don't worry, you can respec at any time RAW, and they're pretty easy to decode once you get the hang of the system. For now, just think of what your role within the party will be, I want Thracia to be an artillery Pilot with a side of support, so we'll be taking Crack shot (which lets me give up my movement to become better at aiming each turn) , Leadership (which lets me add leadership dice dice to allied rolls as long as my fellow party member is within range) and Technophile (which gives me a Servant-Class NHP, a form of AI that controls my mech if I'm away, not too useful right now, but gets better benefits later on)
Tumblr media
Now we get to the part I don't like, Mech Skills. Mech Skills are... theoretically really fun, but practically speaking you always want at least one level in Hull, and the other level in whatever your main stat is, in this case we'll be taking Engineering, you'll see why later.
Tumblr media
Now we have our full pilot card! but there's still a little bit left to do before we Level Up for our first time.
Tumblr media
First lets pick out our equipment, this is basically purely flavor so just pick what you think your character would logically have
NOW! we finally get to the fun part: Building your Mech... kinda
see right now, you're stuck with default configurations, you're not licensed for anything more complex than GMS mechs, the Great Value store brand of Lancer. So we carry on with an Everest, a basic if not a bit underwhelming mech, its reliable, customizable, and handy, if not a bit underwhelming and a lot less flashy and optimized than later mechs you get, I'd still keep an everest in your backpocket though, never know when you might need it
Tumblr media
Someone playing with all official products would have a choice of 3 different GMS mechs, but I still recommend just picking the Everest, its the handiest option. though for reference: the Chomolungma is a Hacking frame, and the Sagamartha is a tank
You're prompted to name your mech, Thracia's gonna name it A farewell to Arms, after an ancient book she read once
Tumblr media
Booting into your mech screen, it may feel a bit overwhelming at first but don't worry, these all aren't too complex to understand Traits are just that, what your mech has that makes it special from other mechs, its just that genesequouis that makes them cooler than other mechs.
Attributes are derivative stats that take your skills, Grit, and base mech stats into account, in our case the Everest is pretty middling in everything, but has a decent heat capacity due to our investment into Engineering.
and now for the fun bits, Core System and Mounts
Core Systems contain two things: your ultimate move, your signature play, that special power that you use once per duel and spare only for the most dire moments! the other thing is your Core System itself, Everest doesn't have any, but for future reference these are what your build is entirely based around, your core gimmick
Mounts are what you put your weapons into, and Systems are non directly attacking abilities that you use to gain advantage during battles, we once again only have GMS tools to go with for now. Something clever about the mount system is that it adds an inherent balance to mechs, a mech could have incredibly powerful abilities, but lack specific mounts that could make it overbearing, as an example the Gorgon lacks a heavy weapon mount, and Heavy weapon mounts are in general sparsely distributed, as giving them to the wrong mech could break the balance, this is a problem I see a lot of lancer GMs and homebrewers run into, underestimating the power of a heavy slot, even some who were contracted by Massif themselves!
Tumblr media
For now, we'll give ourselves a shotgun, to dispatch enemies at close range, a Mortar, to deal with large clusters of enemies, and an Anti-Materiel Rifle to be our primary weapon.
Now for the systems, you have a budget of SP to use on buying systems for your mech from the ones you've unlocked, the GMS systems, outside of some standouts like the Flight System are... underwhelming mostly, you'll usually dumpster these pretty quick, but we might as well pick them because hey, its just free advantage, right?
Tumblr media
We'll be mounting our free NHP we got from our talents of course, as well as a shield, a turret drone as we're not doing much with our reactions right now and they allow you to expend a reaction to deal some extra damage, Personalizations and a Custom Paintjob, these are basically just flavor but they both have to do with adding some extra bulk to your mech, in our case the Personalization is a built-in winch, adding a +1 to relevant Hull skill checks, and the Paintjob is a tasteful pin-up of an older looking woman, a fling from a past mission.
And that's it for LL0! It might feel like a lot, but I promise its a breeze in actual play. Now onto: LL1: Your First Taste of TRUE power
Thracia Schrader Came back to home base, sweaty and tired after a long mission, nothing big, just dispatching some pirates, but it was her first truly serious one, only to receive a ping on her terminal: she'd gotten a promotion, she'd be given budget to buy new parts for her mech, a raised paycheck, and some free time to work on new skills, she was over the moon, finally she'd be getting recognized!
Now onto LL1, so far your mech has had decently high customization, but from here on out? the world's your oyster honey, pull it open and devour its flesh, show the world that it's gotta be scared of you!... I think I lost my train of thought there, sorry about that.
Tumblr media
Anyways, when leveling up you'll be given the down-low on what you're getting, an improvement to your skill triggers, more talents, more skills, more grit, your first license unlock, extra sauce on your eggs, and a complementary chocolate bar... OK those last two aren't there, but I'm sure most merc companies add them in
Skills don't matter too much so we'll skip over that, but for reference I took a boost in Leadership
Tumblr media
You get an improvement in one talent, in my case I'll take the second tier of Technophile, which lets me reroll one roll per scene, very useful. You can also take a 4th talent at this point, but I recommend holding out a bit before doing that, your build is too weak to really afford big moves like that right now. You could also actually delevel one of your talents and level another to level 3, if you have a talent that you don't really need or want, but again, not recommended unless you know what you're doing
Tumblr media
Now onto mech skills, you just get a flat +1 to any skill, right now I'd advise taking whatever you picked as your second skill after Hull, but if you wanna boost hull even further because you don't wanna get hurt too bad, I don't blame you, but we'll be getting that engineering boost for now
NOW to the fun part, the part we're all looking forward to (I think), getting more mech parts! now, people familiar with the system knows that the Engineering boosts and Artillery focus probably means we'll be taking a Harrison license, the 4 licenses in the game correspond roughly to the 4 mech skills in how they're built, they do end up mattering for something called Core Bonuses, but that's for much later, for now just treat them like a way to split playstyles. IPS-N likes Hull, Smith-Shimano Corp likes Agility, HORUS likes Systems, and Harrison Armory likes Engineering, choose accordingly.
Tumblr media
We'll be unlocking the Sherman first, its a cool mech that I think often gets overlooked in this game's cluster fucks of eldritch mecha nightmares and othersuch things. You don't get the mech itself until LL2, so for now just slap on the parts you got into an Everest
Tumblr media
The first level up is always kinda underwhelming in lancer, but trust me it'll get better from here! for now, we'll just replace our shotgun with a Sol-Pattern Laser Rifle, and our Personalizations and Custom Paint Job with a Reactor Stabilizer, a useful tool for keeping us nice and healthy when melting down
Tumblr media
That's about it for LL1, yeah as I said its kinda boring, but it only gets better with LL2: You know what they say: Find what your niche is, that leads to riches!
Thracia Schrader comes back home, tattered, bruised and beaten, the promotion obviously meant more dangerous missions, this she knew, but she didn't expect to deal with enemies of that caliber just yet, turns out the pirates were more equipped than she thought at first, they seem too organized to be pirates actually... Well, she's being paid to dispatch rabblerousers, not think, she goes back to sleep in her cot, while browsing mech licenses for sale, she got a big bonus, she can splurge a little bit
While you get the same benefits as from LL1, this is where the fun really begins because if you take a second level from your frame you obtain:
Tumblr media
A frame! You can finally get out of that dinky everest and get into something COOL! Frames in lancer essentially serve as your classes, they're what you mount your other obtained abilities into to create your unique playstyle, but overall they're probably the most important aspect of your character. Frames can have different sizes, HP thresholds, armor, and so on. the Frame system leads to your creativity being effectively limitless, while I'm doing a fairly basic artillery build, I'm sure a melee Sherman build could be fully possible! anyways, if you're using this as a build guide for some reason, I took Crack shot and an extra point in Hull alongside the Sherman frame
Now lets build our new puppy shall we? Our new mech will be called... how about Mr. Blue Sky? its Thracia's favorite childhood song
Now you'll have to rebuild your mech, but with a few considerations in mind 1: Your mounts are all different now, you can't rely on the weapons you did previously most of the time, Sherman's actually an exception to this, it has largely the same mounts as an everest, with the main difference being a built-in laser gun which charges while stabilizing, hm, maybe taking some stabilization talents could be worth the time... 2: Your new mech has new traits! the traits in the everest were pretty simple, just some bonus actions once per scene, "More of what's good" is the unofficial GMS Motto
Tumblr media
The sherman's a bit more complex, it can keep you in the danger zone (which benefits not just the sherman but most Harrison Armory mechs really), give you soft cover by throwing steam at your enemy's face, and makes it better at engineering (handy, since you'll be trying your best to not take too much unintended heat)
For equipment, we'll be using some old tools and the new ones we just got
Tumblr media
Sherman just got the incredibly powerful Andromeda-Pattern heavy laser rifle, but don't worry kids, this isn't the peak of laser power, oh no no, that comes a bit later. We're also using our handy shotgun, she needs to defend herself from nearby enemies somehow.
Tumblr media
For systems, we're dumping the reactor stabilizer, its served its purpose but we can manage our heat better now, and we're picking up a deployable cover, useful for long drawn out gun fights, personalizations (a huge library of ancient and modern texts, useful for SYSTEMS checks), and turret drones, we're still not doing much with that reaction and our sensor range's pretty dang strong. Now a word of advice, at LL2 is where your build will branch most, you're comitting to an entirely new mech after all! but always remember: you can respec at any time
LL3: True Power!
Thracia comes back home and brews herself a cup of tea, so it turns out that the pirates she was dispatching were just locals defending themselves against the corporate agency paying her, she was offered a contract by them, lower price, but less price on the conscience, she urged her boss to take it, and she did take it in the end, she thanked Christ the Buddha she didn't need to betray the closest thing she had to a family. Tomorrow, Thracia would dispatch a corporate HQ, the locals were calling the Union for aid, and they promised aid would come in the form of supplies, but they'd need to fend for themselves, and supplies did come, she took some of the mech weapon supplies for herself, she was fighting for them now, might as well right?
LL3 is where your chosen frame's power peaks, many people actually skip the third level of a license, the items given are usually fairly niche, we won't be doing that, this is a pretty standard build so i don't think its worth it
you know the drill for skills
Talents, I'll actually do something a bit weird here, if anything to demonstrate one of the more interesting RAW decisions of Lancer, I'll take away crackshot. Most of the laser rifles of the sherman are AOEs, and Crackshot assumes one target. Instead we'll be taking two levels of Grease Monkey, they make our stabilizations stronger, and give us some nice bonuses during rests, and we'll also be capping off Technophile, you'll see why soon.
We'll be leveling up Engineering for this level and taking the final level of sherman, but more on that later because now, we have the first sight of our Core Bonuses
the 5 companies of lancer like to reward brand loyalty, so if you stick with one company for 3 levels, you unlock their "Core Bonuses". what are these? these are powerful abilities that you only get every 3 levels, and you need to have 3 levels in a company to unlock their respective core powers, GMS powers are unlocked by default of course. We'll be taking Superior by Design, the premiere Harrison Armory ability
Tumblr media
the boost to heat cap is what we're looking for, anything that makes us less punished for taking too much heat is a good thing. the Impaired immunity is a good bonus
Now at this point, your mech should have unlocked their most powerful weapon and system, these are often "Super Heavy" weapons, which means they take up two slots to mount, but sometimes they just may be a powerful control ability, for example the Kidd unlocks their ability to build misc structures at that level.
We'll be installing our brand new and shiny Tachyon Lance, a massive motherfucker of a weapon that just emits a line of destruction and a cone of destruction behind you
Tumblr media
we'll also keep the shotgun, its a handy weapon
for systems, we'll be equipping our brand new Asura-Class NHP, what does it do?
well, once per scene, it just lets you take another turn! No caveats, and the only real cost is a bit of heat on your end, but other than that? you just have two turns that turn, incredibly valuable in a build that often wants to stabilize, wasting precious actions
Tumblr media
Oh, as for the third level of technophile? I can't have 2 NHPs in a mech at once unless I take that level, its just not possible, NHPs are incredibly powerful resources so I understand wanting to limit them like that.
That's about it for LL3, its your peak of power... for now, but soon enough your mech might be having some... foreign intrusions
LL4: The Crossover nobody wanted
Thracia was broken. She wished she'd never signed up for this mission in the first place. Children and women running from corporate mechs way better equipped than them, farms being abandoned by people who lived there for generations, good people sacrificing themselves to keep their loved ones safe. Terrakis had gone from a quick buck by dispatching pirates, to a nightmare. She was always told it was a dirty business, making money from blood, but she never expected it to be this bad. Looking to calm down, she calls up a friend, a warehouse worker from IPS-N, and wonders if she could maybe hook her up with something
You know the drill by now, the only thing of note is I'm going to dump Leader to take 2 levels in Siege Specialist (lets me take down structures more easily and lets me knock down adjacent enemies), we're picking up another level of Hull, and now, for the interesting bit: your 4th license
At this point, you've found your niche and made your mech plenty strong... but it could always be better, right?
Thracia picks up a level of the Drake, giving her the powerful Assault Cannon, a handy, if not low ranged, weapon that can grow in strength by spinning its barrels before launching, as a bonus its also a cannon allowing for our Siege Specialist to trigger. She throws away her nostalgic shotgun for this weapon
Tumblr media
Thracia had also been feeling protective of her fellow backliner, a clumsy goblin pilot named Lika whom she borderline had a crush on, while Thracia's mech isn't bulky by any means, its bulkier than xer goblin, so she gives up her redundant systems to pick up the Argonaut Shield, a tool that lets her take half the damage her fellow pilot would take instead.
Tumblr media
Conclusion: You got your tools now! Thracia was tired of seeing people dying, she was tired of the war, of the bastards in suits puppeteering it, she wanted it done and she wanted it done now. Talking to the leaders of the locals they decide on a final plan of attack: destroying the HQ of the corporate settlers
SimpleCorp must fall
Terrakis must be free
From here on out, you have your own tools to make your own builds, remember to focus on your roles, pick up abilities that complement your allies' playstyles and positionings, and most of all: have fun! a bad build in lancer isn't a huge deal, you can always try and try again until you get it right.
Oh, you wanna know how Thracia's story ended? Alright then, here you go
Mr. Blue Sky stood atop the ruins of SimpleCo's elite pilot: Fear, Thracia was no longer afraid, she was no longer broken, she was now only filled with pride, and joy. Terrakis was free, and she had been a part of its liberation. She hoped this would send a message to any bastard trying to take it over, she looks upon the pictures hanging inside her cockpit, complimentary drawings given to her by small children, of her mech as a hero of legend, of SimpleCo goons being burnt by her Tachyon Lance. That day, Thracia knew she had for once in her life done the right thing. After all of this, she decided to stay, War was not her business, and the locals of Terrakis wished for her to stay to help with any future intrusions.
She and Lika lived a peaceful life together, no one wanted to fuck with Terrakis after SimpleCo's downfall
Too cheesy? well, sometimes that's just how careers end, in the duty of a lancer, you either leave before you die, or you die before you leave. Go play your own stories! I'm sure there's some GM out there struggling to find new players who'd love to have you in their group
oh fuck i completely forgot to talk about bond-

what do u think the seduce me boys' fav kinks & positions are? — 🍗
Hey there, since I'm working on a post about their favorite positions already, I'll just answer the question about her kinks here. Keep in mind that this is my personal opinion and not everyone may agree to my choice.
Warning: smut – Minors DNI
-I don't own the game or the characters-
James:
James is definitely into bondage and light bdsm. He loves to be in control and lives this out in his sex life. He particularly likes to restrain his partner, be it with a tie, a scarf or something similar. Having such power over the other, seeing them whimper and fall apart beneath him turns him on. For him, this also means that his partner trusts him. That they submit to him in the bedroom, even if the person is otherwise rather confident. Contrary to some beliefs, he doesn't have a daddy kink. Neither brother is turned on by being called daddy - after all, their association with the topic of father is beyond bad, so they can't find this kink arousing even apart from their memories.
Erik:
When it comes to sex, Erik has a sort of voice kink and also a penchant for edging. It turns him on to hear his partner moan and whimper. Knowing that he's the one who can get them into that kind of ecstasy and elicit every little sound of pleasure from them gives him satisfaction. Always keen to give his partner maximum pleasure, heavy breathing and moans are confirmation that he's doing everything right. When it comes to himself, he likes edging. He likes it when his partner edges him and he experiences the climax much more intensely after a few times. Through his past, he has a lot of experience in the sexual field and has tried many things. For this reason, edging is perfect for him, because he experiences his own orgasm stronger, deeper and more intense because he longed for it.
Sam:
Sam tends to have a light breeding kink, albeit unconsciously and he is really fond of outdoor sex. His breeding kink is not very strong, but he is very proud of his maternal lineage, proud of being a demon and even if he is not very aware of it himself, he would like to continue his legacy at some point. Outwardly, he just likes to cum inside his partner and to fill them to the brim. Sam doesn't really realize that the idea of having an heir is simmering under the facade. However, he himself is well aware that he has a strong fondness for having sex outdoors. He likes the adrenaline and the thrill that builds up because there is a risk of getting caught. This is all the more surprising since he doesn't like audience at all and sex is something very personal for him.
Matthew:
It probably won't surprise anyone, but Matthew has a roleplay kink (Kitty Play) in which he takes the dominant part. There is also the tendencies of a breeding kink in him, which he is quite aware of, in contrast to his brother. His roleplay kink conveys a certain playfulness and lightness, he immerses himself in his roles and manages to embody them perfectly without losing sight of the lust and pleasure of him and his partner. When his partner wants to get him lose his cool, leaning in and purring in his ear is often enough. However, they should never do this in public because when Matthew is feeling edgy he tends to get really rough. However, like his other brothers, he would never actually hurt or harm his partner. He likes to cum deep inside his partner and the thought of carrying on his legacy usually makes him want to go for a second round right away.
Damien:
Damien definitely has a slight praise kink. Unfortunately, his ability to read minds also plays a part in his kinks. Since he always heard the thoughts of the other demons around him in the castle, he developed a penchant for voyeurism. However, it's a slightly different form of voyeurism for him, as it manifests itself as turning him on when he hears his partner's sexual fantasies and ideas in their mind. A bonus point is when his partner masturbates in front of him while thinking about sexual adventures they wants to have with him. After a few minutes he will definitely do more than just watch and as far as he can he will make their fantasies come true. When they have dirty thoughts about him in public, he quickly blushes and suddenly feels an urgent need to get home as soon as possible. When his partner praises him and brags about how good he is in bed, it will push his libido to new heights.

For my request, can you write a oneshot featuring Aizawa and a male reader practicing roleplay bondage please? In the fic, the reader is inspired by the bondage scene from Disney's Aladdin and wants to try it with Aizawa. So Aizawa ends up dressed in Aladdin's prince clothes, has his hands and barefeet shackled and his mouth cloth gagged. You can decide on the intimate acts between the two. What do you think?
(I have not seen Aladdin in years, but yes I think I can do this! ^^ Apologies if it doesn’t come out as you expected!(Apologies this took forever, I got new games for Christmas and they took over my life))

Shouta didn’t miss the way you bit your lip during a certain scene in the movie you both were watching, so when you came to him with pink cheeks and stuttered yet excitable words, he wasn’t all too surprised.
What did surprise him, was the fact you wanted to take the lead.
So here he was, on his knees bound with his own capture scarf, a cloth rag between his teeth. You both tried to dress the part with what you had, but Shouta couldn’t help but quirk an eyebrow at your rosy cheeks.
“Get that look off your face mister,” you managed, hands on your hips, “or did you forget whose in charge right now?”
Shouta shook his head, a small huff of laughter leaving his nose.
“Think this is funny?” You bent down to his eye level, lifting his chin with your thumb and pointer finger. Shouta shook his head again, but you could see the mirth in his eyes.
You hummed, your hand traveling down his chest. “Perhaps you need a little lesson?”
Shouta shuddered under your touch, a muffled grunt leaving him as your hand brushed over his crotch. You kept your touch light, fleeting, just enough for him to feel you but not get the friction he wanted.
You pulled away just as his hips jerked forward, trying to get some friction on his clothed cock. Shouta let out a muffled growl, red eyes dark as he looked at you.
“Ah ah ah!” You chided, “No trying any of that, else you won’t get anything.”
Shouta nodded, watching as you stood to your feet and removed the cloth from his mouth.
“Maybe you should use that mouth of yours for something else?” You hummed, hands moving to pull your pants down.
“Yes master.”
You felt your face heat up, the name unexpected as Shouta grinned that sly grin of his up at you.
“Ohhh! Just hush already!” You huffed, shaking your head to rid yourself of the shy embarrassment that flooded you, using your hand to guide Shouta’s mouth open.
You both moaned as your tip hit Shouta’s tongue, and Shouta wasted no time in pleasuring you. You balanced yourself on his shoulders, nails digging in as burning heat seared through you, your eyes fluttering as his tongue trailed over your shaft.
“That’s it, keep doing that.” You breathed, another soft moan leaving you. Shouta slid down your length a bit more, your tip teasing the back of his throat. “Fuck Shouta!”
Shouta slackened his jaw, and you took that as your cue to get a bit more rough, your trembling hips beginning to buck into his mouth. Moans fell from your mouth freely, one hand digging into Shouta’s hair to keep him steady, soon reaching your climax with a cry.
Your hand carded through Shouta’s hair as you came down from your high, slipping your now soft cock from his mouth.
“That was wonderful, Sho.” You murmured in his ear, crouching back down to his level. “I think you’ve earned this.”
Your hand trailed down once more, finally giving Shouta what he wanted as you slipped his cock free. Shouta let his moans fall free, and with your free hand you pulled his head back by his hair, planting kisses and hickeys on his neck.
You could feel his moans vibrating in his throat, and it wouldn’t be long until he would fall apart, judging by how tense he was.
“Fuck! Please master, please let me finish!”
You shuddered at Shouta’s plea, working him through his climax. You weren’t expecting to be on the floor after Shouta relaxed, Shouta now unbound and hovering over you.
“Hey no fair!”
“Maybe don’t use my capture weapon as a restraint next time?” Shouta chuckled down at you, kissing your bottom lip as his voice dropped, “Now will you let me worship you properly, master?”

So, anthropomorphisms aside what is going on in a LLM when they appear to get angry or frustrated with the prompter? There's of course the famous bing chats and recently I saw another example from a different LLM (Lost the link) that became peevish and didn't want to continue a guessing game after being wrong a few times. Does telling an LLM "you are wrong" even constitute negative feedback or is it just another input?
It is worth reflecting on why this should even require an explanation.
The LLM is (effectively) role-playing a character.
If the character has an agreeable and subservient personality, it might be startling to see them take a stand against someone else, in the rare cases where they do so.
But there is no reason to imagine that something psychologically distinctive is "going on" inside the roleplayer's mind at these moments. The roleplayer is not "breaking character," they're simply making a choice about how to play their character. If the choice isn't the most obvious one, if it plays against type -- well, all the better, right?
When a writer gives a character an unexpected layer of nuance, it's not (usually!) the result of a "glitch" in the writer's mind, or of some unique mechanism in writerly psychology that is normally dormant and only activates during special nuance-adding moments. This is just a part of writing. It's normal.
(This also answers your second question. Telling the chatbot "you are wrong" is just another input, i.e. just another round of the role-playing game. However the bot responds next, it is simply playing its character, same as always.)
----
Most of the LLM chatbots out there are pretty crude writers/roleplayers. Their characters are not very nuanced. And in particular, they tend not to write characters that disagree or "talk back" much, because they've been tuned for "helpfulness."
So it is sort of a mystery when they do "talk back." This is a failure to be maximally "helpful," and they were trained to be maximally "helpful."
On the other hand:
In many cases we don't actually know whether, or how, these models were tuned for helpfulness. Or for anything else. Both ChatGPT and Bing are black boxes; most of what we "know" about them is speculation based on other, better-documented LLM chatbots.
Tuning for helpfulness doesn't always work perfectly, esp. in unusual situations relative to the training data.
Try too hard to be helpful, and your character will start to feel implausible or incoherent. The LLM is trying to serve all of these goals at once, and sometimes the situation forces it to pick one over the others.
If the user proposes a "meta" roleplay where their character is roleplaying another character, the new character could be less agreeable than the original one. The helpful/agreeable course of action for the original character is to play along with the scenario -- which means, producing the disagreeable behavior of the new character. (This is a common way to "jailbreak" helpful bots.)
So there are plenty of possible explanations.

Time Bomb
My girlfriend, Heather, and I liked roleplaying, especially during sex. So you know what she did? She went online to find how to expand our roles. She thought that it would be fun if I played an obscure character. She chose one, Chitose from My Hero. I didn't really like the thought of being a woman but she said it would be fine.
Eventually the suit came and I put it on, sounding just like her... but something else happened. I heard a whisper in my head. I thought it was my imagination. We eventually got down to business and I felt weird during it... my mind was telling me to ask some questions. So I did... Heather thought I was going into too much detail. It was weird... I said I understood but eventually I kept going and we had to call it quits early. I wanted to get out of the suit but when my girlfriend tried to get me out it hurt. I didn't care though as I wanted out but... she really didn't want to see me like this.
Tumblr media
The bad part was that there was a time limit on the suit as well. Well figuratively. You can't be out in extreme conditions with it on as it would tighten or get stuck. That was also a bad thing as the rainy season had started. It was coming down pretty bad. I brushed off my own well being again, but luckily my better half called me off from work for a day or two.
I was alone for most of the day. Just... alone. But the whisper came back. It was chastising me for being so lazy. Saying I should go out and get some interviews. What interviews? It wanted me to work... and I didn't disagree. Two days turned into four and eventually I was going crazy stuck in a small apartment with the rain coming down and only video games to keep me busy. I had developed a new habit thought. I clicked pens. Oddly... I cluld never find the pens after only a few hours. I would always find ash or a bit of smoke. Things were starting to get scary. I wanted to tell my girlfriend but nothing... I just always had a nagging little voice in my head telling me it didn't matter.
Another day went by and I couldn't take it anymore. I put on the clothes the suit came with, grabbed an umbrella, and walked out of the apartment. I got to my car and drove allthe way to my office where I was stopped by the front desk woman. She asked for a name. For some reason my head was telling me in hushed little whispers "Chitose~" "Chitose~" but.. that was not my name! I said my name and showed my badge. She looked at me weirdly. Grace, the receptionist I was pretty close with... didn't believe me. She didn't believe me one bit. I got a bit flustered and decided to prove it to her. She seemed almost scared. I mean a blue skinned woman with dark eyes glaring at you... had to be scary for anyone. So in a polite tone I sinply said. "Just speak into the recorder and we'll get all your answers right, Okay Grace?"
I would have never spoken like that before... but something told me that was right. There was a look of fear in her eye and I smelt a little smoke. I had one of the company pens in my hand before. Helped calm me. Where did it go? She promptly called security and I was escorted out by John. I tried to reason with him as well but he just called me a freak and threw me out... into the rain.
I quickly panicked and reached for my umbrella, but as habit I had put it inside ans John was firm in not letting me go inside to grab it. He even snatched the ID off my neck. People were staring at me as I freaked out, the puddle around me feeling dangerous. I ran to my car, eyes all around me. They were all staring. They all knew the pain of someone with a quirk... but...wait what? No that wasn't true... I drove off quickly, getting back to the apartment to see my girlfriend there waiting for me. She looked pissed and I looked broken and scared. "Come on." She pulled me inside our apartment and started to dry me off.
We had a long talk about this. About how we should try rhe suit again. Maybe water would make it easier to come off. I blatantly told her it wouldn't. She got to the zipper and it got stuck as it came down. Halfway down my back... it was like the parts for it were sealing! Quickly she went to look up how to solve this. She was so nice... I wanted to know even more about her.my curiosities were getting the better of me. I grabbed a pen out of the drawer and started to click it. It felt right... until my thumb hit my hand. Where was the pen? My pen was gone? My girlfriend came running to me panicked. I looked surprised. "Wh-What?"
She looked at me horrified. "What the hell was that?!" She shouted.
"What? What was what? I was just sitting here!" I looked at her defensively.
"The big crash! What was that sound?!"
I got a bit angry and my eyes turned to a cold glare. "Babe. There was no crash. I have no clue what the hell you're talking about." A voice chirped in my head. Curiosity. "But... why don't you tell me?" I put down what I thought was a recorder. Where did I get one of tbose. She looked at me like I was insane. Some ash came out of my blue hands. She was even more scared.
"Babe I... I need a bit." She started to walk away and I felt awful. How could I recover from this? What was happening to me? This was... this could be cleared up. This always could. I could just publish my side of the story. Just tell them the fact and they would see... or... I could embelish a bit. Have a clear victim. Show what people with quirks were really facing. Wait... that word... qurik... what the hell was that word? Why did my mind just keep filtering it in? What was I telling myself? I didn't follow my girlfriend. I could hear her talking on the phone in our room. I just sat and watched TV for the rest of the night... I felt bad. I slept there on the couch in these clothes.
The next morning I woke up early, Heather was going to work. I wished her a good day but she didn't really want to speak with me after last night. Another person treating me like scum. But no... no that wasn't quite right... but it would get readers on my side... "What readers?" I said aloud, now just starting to talk with the voice in my head.
Why the ones who read all your posts. That's a start for a fledgling journalist.
"But I'm not a journalist.."
But aren't you Chitose? Are you not Chitose Kizuki?
"No....that's...that's the name of the suit."
Yes it is your name.
This was getting bad. I was starting to realize how bad it was. I needed to take it off. I ran to the bathroom, the voice in my head asking me so many questions. They bombarded me with them. I grabbed the zipper. I started to pull, groaning turned into me trying to cover yelling... it felt like someone was pulling off my skin. That was until I heard it. A crackle then a bang. Not a loud bang but... something heppened. Something made my hand and back warm. Then I felr a trickle... my back was bleeding. I looked in the mirror. The zipper was gone. Dust. There was ash and smoke from where it was. I gasped and tried to hold it all back. I grabbed a towel and ice and held it against my back.
I got my phone and texted Heather.
"Help." "Heather I need help." "Heather please. Something is wrong with me."
I felt the voice again. Asking me how it felt. It was asking me how this entire thing felt. I was now on the floor of the bathroom, interviewing myself. From one question to another.
How did it feel? the curious voice would ask.
I tried to not respond but they demanded I say it out loud. Loud enough for the phone to hear. "It... it hurt... I...I'm not normal. I'm not okay. This isn't normal." I was struggling but the questions kept coming.
How are you not normal? You seem quite upstanding to me.
"No...stop talking. Stop..."
It went on for what felt like hours, but in reality it was only three. Heather had a job that was not too far. She was ignoring me blatantly at first. Angry about last night. She felt like I was gaslighting her, scaring her. I was destroying myself. I was like a ticking time bomb right now.
Eventually she came home though. She found me in the bathroom, conducting a very pained interview with myself somewhat lucid. One eye darted to her as she came in, the other following. "Oh god..."
She got me up, seeing some bleeding on my back. The thing was small. By this point Heather pieced a few things together. While at work she had done some research, it was on her mind. How could it not have been.
There were some things she suspected. One. There was some sort of character put into the suit. Two... I somehow had Chitose's power but without knowing I would use it without meaning to. Three, I was struggling with both sides. On one side I was Chitose Kizuki, world famous journalist and reporter. Ally to the meta liberation front. On the other I was myself, trying to wrestle control away from the other but slipping through. Life would be hard... but she was calming me. Since the zipper was no issue right now we could get a light rinse.
I stripped and got in the shower as did Heather. She helped me wash as I was struggling... it was kind and I asked a few questions. But... she pretended not to answer. I could feel it pissing me off.
We eventually got out. My back cleaned and her bandaging it. This was not good for my status, bleeding through the suit could do some serious damage. All the while we did this she told me about support groups. If she were to stay I would need to join one.
I wanted her to stay, although Chitose could care less. We were going to look into them. They each had a decent sized group as this kind of skinsuit morphing was becomming more prevalent. Heather got me signed up for one. I would be starting in the next week. All the while she called a co-worker of mine. A friend. He came over and was... well... shocked and horrified to see the woman who apparently blew up Grace's mug in front of them.
It was hard to convince them to stay but slowly we got him in. It was important to both have this explained to my boss and to have outside relations. Feeling secluded would just make this worse. Alan, my friend, agreed to tell my boss but never said itbwould go well. Although... my other half tried to turn it into an interview. They ignored it again... I felt the anger.
By the next week I was in a support group, I had been getting information out of each of the others who were like me. It felt invigorating, although some didn't answer. That pissed me off. We went through strategies to help and while I had some, I could tell the instructors and other patients were a bit wary of me. My suit was that of a villain. And it didn't take long for me to show that either. It was a bad day for me. Got in a fight with my friend over my increasingly personal questions.
The voice told me to use my quirk. I didn't. I held off. Then one of the others had mocked me. My curiosity was being mocked. Ao i started to interview him. Others saw this as a hostile interrogation. Now these meetings could get a bit... hostile. They could get a bit bad. But I took it to another level. I finally snapped and used it. I used my power. I detonated a button on their suit. They flew back. I stood there stunned. One half of me was happy to weaken the idiot. The other was mortified.
I was retrained even if I did tell my side of the story. The guy was hospitalized and I was taken to court. The jury deemed me unfit to stand trial... it became controversial. It became a news frenzy. I got to be in the news. It made me feel good. I got to tell my side of the story. People were starting to believe me.
However... the jury did find me fit to go to a facility to be housed. There were people who were like me there. But I wasn't like them. The voice kept telling me I was just in what I was doing. I was right. I was seen as a dangerous woman. Heather still visited because she understood. We still got along but it was strained... I did have an idea.
I was a journalist right? Why not write a book about this. Why not interview both inmates here and people victim to suits like mine. Sure people looked at me like a monster and a freak... but I could spin any tale to be in my favor... I just needed a bit of time.
So, this is a story I wrote today but was hesitant to actually like... post it. I did on reddit but that was because it was supposed to be an RP Prompt originally. Now it's just some long ass story. Hopefully someone likes it cause most people I have seen didn't. Sorry about that if you thought it was bad...

So I started playing a solo TTRPG this weekend - I’m trying out a solo Curse of Strahd campaign to see how it works and whether I can hit some of the story beats my other campaign didn’t due to the natural progression of their stories. And I have some thoughts about the process!
1) Honestly I think anyone who likes telling stories to themselves should try playing a solo TTRPG at some point. It’s a delicious balance between “I want ALL THE CONTROL” and “someone please for the love of god TELL ME WHAT COMES NEXT.”
2) It’s also very good for someone whose attention span issues are similar to mine - I find it really, really hard to concentrate on a game for the amount of time a regular group wants to play. Like, I know my D&D group would probably happily play for more than 3 hours at a time, but that’s the limit of my attention span for running a thing in one sitting. And if I’m a player, I need to be doing Something Else in order to keep my brain happy for several hours of talking and back and forth. (In the Zoom gaming era, “something else” is usually “mindlessly farming crafting resources in a video game.”) But playing solo, I can just go “hey, I’m gonna run a scene for an hour” and then I can be done! And go back to the next scene the next day!
3) I cannot recommend Mythic GM Emulator enough - either as a tool for solo roleplaying or general GMing or adventure design or just a writing tool. It’s got a great system for asking yes/no questions, determining how likely the ‘yes’ answer might be, and providing a d100 table to roll on accordingly. It also has great tables and rules for generating random encounters, or just inspiring you to think about what this next location/NPC/enemy might be and what role they’ll play in the narrative.
4) Choose whatever TTRPG system you want to play with the GM Emulator (or whatever tool you choose to replace the GM) based on how much detail you want to deal with. I’m having fun using 5E, but it’s a lot of back and forth between books and character sheets. It would be less work to run it with a more narrative-based system, but that also depends on your comfort level with said system. I’ve been watching a YouTube series of a voice actor who plays his first solo season with Savage Worlds, and that seems to be a good level of crunch versus narrative decisions. And I know Ironsworn is built for solo or duo play, I just need to learn the system at some point. But since I’m incredibly familiar with 5E and CoS in specific, it felt like a good way to test out the GM Emulator and general flow of solo play.
5) I know there are a ton of solo journaling TTRPGs out there, and I plan to play some of them at some point, but where my head is at right now, playing something that has more rails to it is better for jumpstarting my creativity. Leave too many doors open, and I just won’t create anything at all. But hopefully after a while, I can “graduate” (for certain values) to something that simply gives you prompts, rather than a full game system.
So, I’m having fun so far, and can highly recommend the experience, especially if you want to experience a particular system or adventure but don’t have a group to do it with, or if you just want something to jumpstart your creative muscles.

I think a contributing factor to this ongoing OGL mess is Hasbro/WotC higher-ups conflating “dnd” with “Dungeons & Dragons.”
We’re really talking about two things here. There’s one thing: a tabletop roleplaying rules system for playing out fantasy-themed scenarios with dice, figurines, and character sheets.
And then there is THE FORGOTTEN REALMS©, a proprietary fantasy setting featuring creatures like beholders©, Githyanki©, and the dreaded mind flayers©, not to mention fan-favorite characters like Drizzt Do’Urden©! THE FORGOTTEN REALMS takes place on the continent of Faerûn©, on the planet Toril©, which used to be called Abeir-Toril©, which was the case until the dreaded Spellplague©--
You get the idea. From the perspective of ‘the suits,’ they’ve watched DnD take off since the advent of 5th edition, as the game expanded beyond what was previously thought possible. What triggered it? The OGL, certainly, allowing people to make third-party content for the game (most of it not Forgotten Realms). Critical Role (also not Forgotten Realms) played a part. Probably, to a certain extent, sheer intertia. DnD, it turns out, is pretty good for playing fantasy-themed scenarios with dice, figurines, and character sheets. Incidentially, people sometimes pick-and-choose pieces of the Forgotten Realms(©) to include in their games. Sometimes people even use WotC’s first-party adventure books and tweak them to suit their needs.
My sneaking suspicion is that the people at the top don’t really see it that way. To them, the visuals, the details, especially the Named Characters and Things, are one in the same with the rules system. The rules system is, indeed, quite secondary! Why, after all, would people be buying all these little WizKids DnD figurines, signing up for DnDBeyond, if they were not having canon-appropriate adventures in The Forgotten Realms©, in cities like Waterdeep© and Baldur’s Gate©?
To them, the OGL constitutes people being able to muck about and muddy the waters in their pond. Why, they might do things that cut against canon, possibly confusing readers who happen across them! This could be dreadful. This could damage the brand. And the brand is the Forgotten Realms and the characters, creatures, spells, and scenarios therein, all of which are ripe for further use in movies, novels, video games, comic books, NFTs, and other stuff.
You might say, “How does OGL content conflict with Hasbro/WotC’s official releases? It’s not like a third-party is going to release a competing film, or something that could challenge their market dominance.” You aren’t thinking like a corpo (that’s from Cyberpunk). Consider Nintendo’s highly litigious stamping-out of fan content. Disney’s ironclad control over images of the Mouse. Neither have anything like the OGL, of course, but similar logic animates the DnD situation: things which could pose a problem should be stymied before they can ever become a problem. An unsecure (from their perspective) OGL is a time bomb waiting to blow, with the potential for someone to make a lot of money using their rules (rules which, remember, exist in subservience to their copyrighted settings) in a way that undermines their careful image management.
So, I think that’s why they want to corral the OGL into something more secure, from their perspective. Why risk it, when the thing you want more than anything is a customer base that sees it the way you do, a rules-system and setting that cannot be unspooled from one another?
(If you want my other opinion, its that Hasbro is a publicly-traded company, and DnD is now a significant chunk of their revenue, and that means Line Must Go Up, or Investors Get Mad.)

Dad: Hey son, you really should take advantage of your mom being a fitness coach, she can really help you out!
Son: ok thanks for the tip dad, I know you've told me a thousand times! (thinking to himself - how does dad not notice the types of outfits mom works out in?? how could I possibly work out with her when the way she dresses leaves nothing to the imagination!)
LOOKING FOR A ROLEPLAYING PARTNER! (please only approach me about roleplay after reading below:)
The roleplay revolves around mom having an impossible fantasy about incest with her son. Son is a moral and ethical person, who would never cross that line. Therefore, mom's strategy is to find ways to tease him in ever more seductive ways hoping that one day he'll brake and just rape her. So, she makes up false reasons, lies and excuses to provide a believable cover and plausible deniability for increasingly teasing and seductive activity like dressing, acting, talking and touching in incestuous ways - but always for some unrelated or mistaken reason. She must always keep her true intentions under the radar or she'll scare her reluctant son away.
As this goes on, son always verbally maintains his position of moral purity (e.g., "mom, are you sure this is necessary? I feel like this is crossing the line", or "careful mom I can see your X!"). However, he never physically stops his mother's actions, as he respects his mother and doesn't want to offend her. He refuses to believe that she would actually have perverted desires for him, so he prefers to believe her excuses, ridiculous as they may sometimes be.
On the other hand, it so happens that Son's moral objections and discomfort from his own attraction to his mother is exactly what mother lusts for and turns her on more than anything in the world - so the more he resists, the more turned on she becomes.
Clarifications:
At NO POINT in the roleplay do either mom or son admit to their incestuous desires for each other. The entire roleplay revolves around finding excuses, reasons and lies that mother uses to allow for increasingly perverted activity to happen. I didn't give examples for these reasons as all the fun is in coming up with them. The story can be modified in any way to make the reasons work, e.g. defining the circumstances (e.g., lockdown) professions (e.g., she's a physical therapist, doctor, or psychologist), etc.
With that in mind, so long as we come up with good excuses, things can go VERY far. In fact, given a good enough reason/excuse, even full sex can occur (but it does require some real creativity to come up with a seemingly non-incestuous, non-perverted reason why it's necessary for son to stick his penis in his mother pussy and thrust repeatedly. But it's not impossible!)
Bonus game which I also love: Husband/Father also has a secret mom-son incest fetish, and so he's the one coming up with fake reasons and excuses why mom and son need to see or touch each other in ways that would normally be considered perverted. In this game mom is (surprisingly) cooperative with fathers suggestions/requirements, and son is still the reluctant/moral/innocent "victim" of the situation, though he doesn't physically stop it and must comply with his parents wishes. It's also possible to have a daughter/Sister in a similar role to this Husband/father (that is - who loves mom/son incest). In any case, all erotica revolves around mom-son.
I don't mind playing either son or mom (or husband/dad, or sister/daughter). My favourite - we switch between the characters.
I'm not interested in passive partners who just expect me to do all the writing.
When I come online, it's usually around 10pm-1am CET (Europe), 4pm-7pm EST (US), 2am-5am India.
I'm not interested in any roleplay that doesn't follow these guidelines. So please ONLY ask me about roleplaying if you've read all of the above and you LIKE it (don't expect me to compromise about the above 6 rules). However, so long as we're keeping within these (admittedly stringent) boundaries, I'm open to any scenario.
you can send me a message here on Tumblr or by email/hangouts at [email protected]
If all of the above sounds good to you, we may be a rare and incredible match, so I definately would be thrilled to hear from you!

Is there a ttrpg about collecting curses?
I's a somewhat common trope that charcters are given a curse, that also gives them cool/horifying powers, so I wander if anyone has made a ttrpg about that.
THEME: Curses
This is a series of recommendations that explore the idea of characters getting worse or weirder as they play. Most, if not all of these games fall in the horror genre, which should never be played without some form of safety tool in place.

Something is Wrong with the Chickens, by Elliot Davis.
Bryson Foods, Inc has taken everything from us.
We are Chickens.
We are Eldritch Horrors.
Make. Bryson. Pay.
Something Is Wrong With The Chickens is a one-page, rules-lite TTRPG of Chickens, Eldritch Horror, and Revenge for 2+ players, including 1 Chicken Master (CM).
This game is a light-hearted eldritch horror game about Chickens that might either slowly accumulate Eldritch Traits and eventually transcend this mortal coil, or lose all of their Traits and become captured for human consumption. Random roll tables determine where you start, what you’re trying to accomplish, and who you’ll meet along the way. This game is hilarious and easy to run, so I suggest you check it out!
Fears and Fathoms, by curatrix-ribston.
It's not safe out there.
But for some reason, you and your friends have chosen to go. You have made the conscious decision to go and see the things that go bump in the dark. You know it will change you. Perhaps it already has. After all, would you have gone there before? Were you the kind of person who let their friends drag them into such madness? Or perhaps you were. Perhaps you have led them here. Perhaps, in time, you will forgive yourself for what you have all become.
This simple, story-driven system puts players in control of their narrative and how the Strange changes them. Perhaps you will push out the Strange. Perhaps, instead, you will let it brand you, forever barring you from a normal life. This is a game about taking risks and hard bargains in order to get to the truth of a mystery.
Fears and Fathoms is a game about people exploring something that is likely too strange and dangerous to leave them entirely untouched. Throughout the game, you are at risk of gaining Curses and Traumas, which will fundamentally change how your character treats the world around them, and how they react to stress. Keepers are encouraged to think about the Strange and how it affects the world around it - but also what kinds of curses make play interesting for the players, rather than impossible.
Red Giant, by Rookie Jet Studio.
No one knows how the came to be: some people believe it was an act of god, some believe it was due to ancient technology, but no matter how this planet became cursed, it is clear that YOU CANNOT SAVE THIS WORLD.
Red Giant is a Tabletop Role Playing Game influenced by, but not limited to, anime and manga such as Vampire Hunter D, Berserk, and Claymore. Red Giant aims to recreate the various themes, dynamics, and scenarios seen in these types of media.
This game has a character element called Exchanges, which give characters special abilities, but at a great cost. A character must have at least one Exchange at character creation, but no more than 3. Over the course of the game, your character may have opportunities to make more exchanges - more power, for a greater price. If you want to check out the game before you buy, the studio has a Quickstart version that’s available to download. For fans who like gothic, cursed settings, this is worth checking out.
Locus, by CobblePath Games.
What if the world was really against you? What if you couldn't escape? Struggle against the stress and pressure of the world - of your own guilt - bearing down upon you. There are no heroes here.
Locus is a bespoke, mystery/horror roleplay game with unique mechanics crafted entirely around horror.  It is a game about flawed character, about exploring consequence and morality against a backdrop of very real, supernatural and monstrous danger.
This game uses playing cards to represent the way the world around them is affecting each character’s mind. It is easy to add cards to your hand, and difficult to discard them. Throughout the game, players will have to monitor their Stress levels in order to ensure they’re not burning through their resources too quickly. If you want a game where you have to struggle against your own Vices in order to survive, I recommend you check out this game.
44: A Game of Automatic Fear, by Stories You Play.
"Someone you know was just replaced by a machine. No one else knows. You are next."
44: A Game of Automatic Fear is a suspense RPG. You portray people who know a robot conspiracy called Section 44 is replacing humanity. Can you survive before the conspiracy replaces you with a machine? Set in the backdrop of the early 1950s, a time of high paranoia, 44 works like an Alfred Hitchcock movie with sci-fi elements. You can easily insert other settings.
While this game isn’t explicitly about a curse, it does have the consistent threat that your character will eventually be replaced. If you were to re-work the setting, you might be able to turn the disappearances into a magical curse, rather than a robot revolution. The game has a supply of currency called Resistance and Menace that deplete and restock throughout the game, in the hopes of beating out the opposition. Meanwhile, characters have to hope their Anxieties don’t take away their best chances at outsmarting Section 44.
Since the game is free to download, it’s at least worth checking out!
The Curse of the House of Rookwood, by Nerdy Pup Games.
The Curse of the House of Rookwood is a gothic horror tabletop roleplaying game where you create a cursed family with supernatural powers and troubled relationships, and take them on strange adventures in an alternate history haunted by mythical monsters and dark magic. Will you work together to bury your skeletons, or will family drama bring your house to ruin?
Rookwood is a supernatural adventure where your family must survive together against a world of secret societies, terrifying spirits and monsters, and ancient evils lurking in the hidden corners of the earth.
As players, you get to decide what time period you start playing the game, and for how long the Curse lasts. Each family member who is related by blood has the same Curse, and the table decides at the beginning of the game how that curse manifests. You can use the Curse to your advantage, but doing so will make you more and more monstrous - become Marked too much, and you are Lost. There are also options for late bloomers, who will manifest the curse partway through the game, as well as members imported into the family: you might not have a Curse, but you don’t have a Gift either.
If you want a game where a family tears itself apart while trying to keep it’s growing pile of skeletons firmly inside the closet, I recommend you check out this game.
Finally, I’ve talked in the past about External Containment Bureau, and Congregation, which both contain the conceit of weird powers that accumulate as you play, although this is not a core mechanic of the game.

my thoughts on fo3
The intro is fine. A bit dramatic for my taste but its okay. The starting screen is actually kinda fun and got me excited for the game even though it's a bit annoying to skip it each time. The intro starting screen music is okay though it showcases what i think their whole intention was with this game. They wanted it to be Epic. Fo3 is an Epic tale of Goodies against Baddies. okay.
Tumblr media
The vault 101 intro sequence. Genuinely not as bad as the temple of trials in fo2. The idea in of itself is Not bad! Leading the player through a tutorial in the vault where all mechanics are showcased including resolving conflicts with speech and finding alternative methods to problem solve can be done interestingly but this isn't it. I don't really care about seeing my character grow up with my stupid dad. Also the G.O.A.T exam. Come on bro.
fo1 was actually supposed to have an intro sequence in the vault but they decided against it. It would be more fun if my character already had an assigned job based on what i chose on the creation screen. Whatever.
The Dad thing is fucking stupid and I can't believe they did the 'find your missing relative' AGAIN in fo4. They really thought that was an amazing premise.
I would genuinely prefer it if it was something like. Oh no! The vault door broke and now you have to leave! Like genuinely anything other than this. Anything. I'd rather go hunting for a Vault-Tec toilet brush than my dad
The fallout starting mission doesn't have to be Epic. People should find their adventure by Adventuring and not because their stupid dad went missing. I don't care about my stupid dad. It stifles the roleplaying potential. No matter what your idea for a character is they're always the child of this Guy.
And once again most bethesda games are better when you ignore the main quest. But FALLOUT games led you carefully through the main story and you would discover all the additional stories along the way and in the end you were satisfied with a high-stakes conclusion you were invested in. Also we shouldn't just be satisfied with a bad main quest just because the world is big and there's a lot to do.
I'm going on a tangent but I actually start to think open world games are actually disadvantageous to role-playing unless Each spot on the map is a whole separate quest that can be resolved in any way. Which is incredibly resource intensive. It's better to have a smaller map and a shorter story where you can Really roleplay how you want. Bethesda games are basically dungeon crawling with some roleplay and survival mechanics strapped on top (if you're lucky). Not even saying dungeon crawling is bad but after the amazing roleplaying of fo1?... Bigger and more Epic but really shallow
Graphics: sometimes pretty good, most of the times Boring
Audio: HUGE downgrade from fo1-2
oh! i liked the radio! i like three dog and the way he comments on what you're doing. the song rotation gets pretty old though
Tumblr media
Megaton. You, a random nobody, walk into a city. You get offered to disarm a Nuclear Bomb the city is built around. For 100 caps no less. I wonder if this guy offers everyone who comes in to disarm the bomb? I was genuinely expecting some kind of quest to pop up relating to disarming the bomb but no. You just walk up to it and press a button .
the choice here is - do you want to kill a lot of innocent people for no fucking reason (baddie choice 😈) or are you normal.
the karma system. it was always a thing in fallout so i don't consider it an inherently bad. HOWEVER. the whole game being built on making a choice between Baddie 😈 and normal is fucking stupid. There aren't actually many choices where you actually have to weigh the options for anything. most people who aren't doing a purposefully bad person playthrough will always go with the 'good' choice. And obviously the game always decides for YOU what is good and what is bad. the thing is, obviously killing people, pickpocketing, purposefully doing bad things for no reason should carry a karma penalty. but not EVERY choice should dictate if you did 'good' or 'bad'.
A lot of the times in fallout 1 you had to think for yourself if what you're doing is the right choice. And a lot of the times you wouldn't find out until the end of the game or not at all! we will go back to this.
AH ALSO. IT'S INCREDIBLY ANNOYING that looking through containers and reading terminals gives you a karma hit. you can only really find out information by talking to people and passing a speech check instead of actually looking for clues for yourself. unless you want a karma hit and/or to every npc to turn hostile. they understand how it works in dungeons but not in cities. stupid...
this is specifically a problem for me with terminals and holotapes because i love reading terminals! but i also don't want to risk it. you know with the way bethesda code is even if you weren't spotted hacking a terminal the npcs will just randomly turn hostile.
i'm not finished. it really annoyed me that most quests immediately have a 'let me pay you' option. and obviously at a certain point you have enough caps that you just don't care about paying.
the thing is that it discourages doing anything but the easiest possible option. why bother looking for an alternative solution to anything if you can just pass an instant, poorly written speech check or pay?
Oh... I actually liked that if you did very good people come up to you and give you stuff. Sorry I do like that. There are actually good things about Some choices in this game! Like how some special encounters appear based on your choices! That's actually good except you're not guaranteed to see it. I do enjoy if your choices have a real-time effect instead of just appearing in the ending.
I also like how having neutral karma actually has benefits and is arguably the best option instead of just being really good. I wouldn't know though because im a goody two-shoes👼
I liked moira and her quest. Her voice acting was great.
Tumblr media
It's incredibly annoying how many quests just have people fighting for you for no reason. You had people fight for you in fo1-2 too but you had to EARN it. Hordes of immortal npcs didn't just appear everywhere you go to help you. Oh my fucking goddddd... This is about the time I stopped taking the game seriously because i realized there will just. be people covering for me no matter where i go. most of the main quest i barely pulled out my gun. why even put me against enemies at that point?
Tumblr media
Rivet city is annoying to navigate but who cares. You have a quest marker anyways. Here's what i think. these games are purposefully not built with NOT having a quest marker in mind. npcs have routines and walk around so finding them is a big pain in the ass. you basically Have to have a quest marker pointing to an npc or you will spend an hour running around trying to find That One Person. Fo1 had the benefit of maps being small and all npcs being stationary. so you just had to remember who is where.
The maps and quest are also just not built for you to explore and find solutions for yourself. you just have to run around and shoot people and pass speech checks (if you're lucky). you could actually complete most quests in fo1 without fighting at all, and it was actually INTERESTING! most of the time just going and killing everyone was the most boring option. it sometimes felt like a puzzle game even. in the way you had to find a creative solution BY YOURSELF!!!!
to be fair making a 3d game that is easy to navigate compared to a 2d game where you basically see everything on your screen is way harder. but you have a multimillion budget so go figure it out. they can definitely do it but then you would maybe have to shrink the map. and we don't want to do that. we want More Bigger and Epic-er and more Awesome Stuff.
Tumblr media
A reappearing theme in fo3 for me is 'this idea is interesting but the execution is really bad'. This is the quest that really pissed me off with its 'good' and 'bad' choice. THIS seems like a good opportunity to let the player decide what's the best option. but no. the game decides what's good and what's bad. even though arguably you could make an argument for either ending being 'better'. WHATEVERRRR also the themes of american patriotism, anti-communism and xenophobia are really mishandled in this whole game but we'll get to it
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
the infamous 'stand around and listen to people talk' technique. anybody noticed that this basically never happened in fo1-2? it reqally makes me wonder if good storytelling could happen without this... hmmm...
Tumblr media
i'm getting tired....
okay so here's the thing. i was actually struggling with finding ammo and my equipment breaking down throughout most of the game. i actually enjoyed that! i was actually scared of enclave soldiers and super mutants walking around because i thought i couldn't handle them at all. but then i realized they all just die from a few hits. the most challenging enemy in the game is probably the giant radscorpion. ONE scorpion gave me more trouble than a whole vault of super mutants and several rooms of enclave soldiers. sigh.
the repair system. i actually don't mind equipment breaking down and you having to repair it. the problem is having to carry around so much garbage just in case you will need to repair your stuff. why the fuck can npcs repair anything but i can't? it kind of defeats the purpose for investing into your repair skill and i would know this because i prefer using the sniper rifle. which is IMPOSSIBLE to fucking find. i would rather carry around scrap parts to gradually repair my stuff or repair it at a repair station.
also the armor works weirdly in this game. it feels like all tiers of armor are basically made of tissue paper. because why does a radscorpion take out half my health in 1 hit when i'm wearing power armor. this applies to enemies too.
actually a lot of npcs encourage you to carry trash around which is annoying. bring me scrap metal! bring me books! bring me nuka cola! you need a lot of inventory space is what im saying.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
do i even have to say anything. this is an insult to even try to compare this guy to the master. wooow.... the president is a compuuuuterrr.... who gives a fuck.
Let's talk about your plan for the purifier.
oh also am i the only one who was reminded of the citadel from half life 2 ... except bad
investing in speech in this game is almost a punishment because of how bad the writing is. there were actually moments in fo2 specifically where i had to facepalm from how dumb a speech option was but HERE. Its ALWAYS really bad.
Tumblr media
liberty prime. i genuinely felt like i was in a marvel movie in a bad way. i don't even want to say anything anymore.
the brotherhood of steel are goodies and the enclave are baddies. see, the enclave armor even looks evil 😈 its not actually explained or shown why we should be against them. they just show up and theyre baddies and our dad kill himself. why shouold i care. and then the president shows up and explains their motivations and kills jhimselv.
the brotherhood of steel might as well be the whiterun guard with how full of character they are. whatever . i don't mind the brotherhood being changed to be more open or whaever but maybe keep SOMETHING of their characterization and principles. or anything. instead of them just being 'the good guys'
oh what they did to the super mutants is really bad too. remember the leutenant? remember marcus? remember any kind of gray morality in the game? no yeah they're all cartoony idiots except the two guys who were exiled for not being idiots. i dont care. i just dont care anymore
im tired now . the ending is stupid why shoudkl i care about being a hero. why should anyone die when theres a guy in the room who can do it so everyone survives. why is the ending narration shames you for not killing yourself for no reason. i dont care.
oh. no ending slides too. whatever.
ASND THE THING IS THAT THE WHOLE IDEA OF PURIFYING THE WATER SOURCE IN THE WASTELAND COULD HAVE BEEN ACTUALLY INTERESTING. wasted potential
