Random thing but as we saw in the 2nd anniversary, this place is actually the Dark Cacao Kingdom as spring rolled around. Likely when we visited it before it was fall/winter, hence why it was covered in snow
This also tells us that the Dark Cacao Kingdom is not constantly covered in snow, and that likely the summers there have actual greenery and not just constant snow, and that there might not even be snow, save for the high points of the mountains
If this is the case, I would like to see stuff of the kingdom during this time of year as well (I would draw it myself, but I’m not very experienced with actual backgrounds)

ੈ♡˳·˖✶ — GOJO x FEM READER
Gojo's a brat.
wc — 1k
tags —  been reading a lot of shoujo manga lately which is its own warning, jealous Gojo spoiling reader
Tumblr media
Snap.
You hiss between your teeth, annoyed and barely restraining yourself from murder. The sting of the elastic jolts you out of your studies, but after a quick break to glare at the headache sitting next to you, you dive right back into your work. Patience is one of your strong suits. It’s why Yaga worked so hard to steal - in his words, ‘recruit’ - you from the Kyoto campus. Someone has to set a good example for the kids. He knows it’s not going to be Gojo.
Speaking of-
Snap.
This time, you feel the brush of his cold fingers against your skin as well. You yelp in shock, both at the sudden change in temperature and at the way your skin smarts. Gojo takes a break from his triple sized blue raspberry slushee to laugh at you hysterically, clutching his sides. It’s not even that funny. You wish all kinds of illnesses on him with fervor.
One more time. Just one more time, you promise yourself, and you’ll-
Snap goes the hair tie on your wrist against your skin.
You don’t even let him withdraw his fingers before you leap over the chair to punish him.
“You little punk,” you snarl, catching his collar in your hand and throttling him with it. It’s a rare day where he’s wearing business casual, which he doesn’t even do for meetings with the elders.
“I’m older than you,” he says. “Gotta respect your elders.”
“Yeah? I’ll show you respect!”
You’re already reaching out to pinch his cheek, only to come into contact with infinity. This comes with the realization that he must have had it turned off earlier, if you could have choked him. Why does the thought make you happy?
“Men don’t like women who are so high strung,” he teases.
“Tell that to my roster of Hinge dates,” you snort (lying through your teeth). You’re admittedly popular, but you’ve stopped seeing anyone in recent months for a reason you don’t want to explore further. That’s a stone you’re willing to leave unturned.
“Oh, yeah?” You can only tell his voice is just slightly huskier because you spend so much time with him these days that you can catch the slight changes in his mood. It’s for lesson plans, of course.
That doesn’t stop you from swallowing hard. Jealousy looks good on him. He had the kind of looks that could drive women crazy, but combined with his unfiltered attention on you? It was a difficult to fight the urge to provoke him further.
“Yeah. As for me, I don’t like men who are a pain in the ass,” you smooth down his collar once you realize you’ve still been holding it.
The tension breaks. Gojo never stays serious for long. You’ve only caught fleeting glimpses of the god that lurks within his skin, trapped and turbulent.
“Aw, come on. I’m not so bad, am I? Can I make it up to you?”
“Depends,” you sniff, highlighting a important sentence in your textbook. You’ll have to remember that for class later. Nobara had asked about it. You should really tell him to go away, he’s distracting you so much, but you rarely do tell him off no matter what he does.
“I happen to have a reservation-“
So that explains why he’s dressed so nicely, though you wouldn’t put it past him to show up to Michelin star restaurants in sweatpants and get his way. You have to remind yourself not to get excited that he’s doing this for you. If you do, you lose.
“Happen to, is it? What if I don’t want your leftovers?”
“Don’t be that way,” he wheedles. “I’ll pay for everything.”
“As if I was going to.”
“I’ll pick you up.”
“You can do better than that,” you retort. This is almost fun, like negotiating with Yaga to raise your salary. Utahime thinks there’s something wrong with you for enjoying workplace politics so much, but maybe that’s why you can tolerate Gojo’s company so well when no one else can. You have to be a little crazy to put up with him.
“Hmm,” he says. You see right through him. He’s only pretending to think. In fact, every second of this conversation was predetermined. It’s all part of a bit you’ve done before. “Last offer, then. You can max out my card getting ready.”
And your answer, therefore, is also already prepared. You don’t even deign to give him one, simply holding out your hand.
“Who says I’m giving it to you?” Gojo’s eyes sparkle. He’s being particularly difficult today, so much so you’re tempted to just slap him across his pretty face so you can kiss the hurt away afterwards. He’d like that, though. “Don’t you need someone to carry your bags?”
This is the game he likes to play, messing with you so he can apologize with extravagant gifts. Just once, you wish he could be straightforward about it. You’re not bragging, but everyone knows he likes you. It would make everyone’s life easier if he could just be mature about it, but instead, Gojo insists on acting like a teenager with a crush.
Whatever. You can put up with it for a while longer. You’re not particularly opposed to this situation. He spoils you with attention and lavish gifts; you spoil him by being the only one who can tolerate him.
Besides, you’re keeping secrets too, a big one that Utahime had whispered to you the other day over lunch. She had been so excited to have something to hold over Gojo that she hadn’t even registered the look on your face when she told you.
The other reason Yaga tried so hard to steal you from Kyoto?
Gojo asked him for a favor.

Hi love . I have an idea for pedro ×reader
They had a big fight and they don't talk . When they go to sleep , pedro hugs the reader in bed and apologize . ( loving and romantic)
AN: I hope this is to your liking!!
You didn’t even remember what you were fighting about, but you knew that you were right, and he was wrong.
It was the middle of January, bitterly cold and dry outside. You had started arguing with Pedro as soon as you had woken up, admittedly in a bad mood for no reason and just looking for something to be mad at. He had left the sliding glass door in the main room of the house slightly open—just by an inch, if even—and a chill had crept throughout the house. The chill had made you feel wilted and grumpy, padding through the house slamming doors and cabinets while Pedro seemed completely ignorant of his misstep. It had been just that; a misstep, a complete accident on his part as he had rushed to crawl into bed with you after a late-night cigarette in the backyard. But it was the perfect opportunity to vent all the built-up anger in your system.
You hadn’t really meant to lash out at him, but you were frustrated and melancholy, and what else could you do in your moment of randomly induced irritation? He had asked what was wrong and you snapped back at him to “go away,” to “leave me alone, goddammit.” You seethed and moped for the rest of the day, huddling in the comfort of your bed while Pedro, not wanting to push and respecting the boundary you had set in your frenzied moment of outrage, found things to do around the house in order to stay out of your way.
When night had fallen and you had realized you had spent the whole day isolated in the bedroom you shared with your boyfriend, you felt a pang of guilt, followed by one of hunger. You tried to make your way out of your room and into the kitchen, but the regret of having been so randomly cruel to Pedro earlier in the day grew, and all you could do was sit on the floor and continue wallowing in self-pity.
The door opened slowly, and the creak of the wood reminded you that the hinges needed to be fixed. Pedro strode in holding a bag of takeout and set it down on the floor beside you before sitting to face you on the bedroom floor. You were both quiet as he placed a hand on your knee.
“Querida,” he whispered, “what’s wrong?”
You looked at him through the tears that swelled in your eye, trying to put words to feelings. “I’m sorry. For, for yelling at you this morning.”
“Baby…”
“And for walling myself in all day and not telling you why I was mad and not apologizing sooner and—” He cut off your rambling by sliding himself closer to you and dropping a kiss on your head. He had himself hunched over you, knees on the hard wood and you knew he would feel it in the morning.
“Apology accepted.”
“But you don’t even know why I was mad.” You sniffed and wrapped your arms around his.
“So tell me.”
“You left the door open. The sliding door, it was open this morning, and it was cold. And I woke up angry and that made me madder.” You leaned your weight into him, and he lifted you up and onto the bed, letting you fully curl into him.
“I’m sorry I left the door open,” he put his palm over your cheek, “I’m sorry, baby, I am.”
“You don’t have to be sorry.”
“I am. I promise I’ll make sure it’s closed next time. I’ll lock it, even.” He wrapped himself around you, and you felt genuinely warm for the first time all day.
“I promise I’ll talk to you next time I get pissed off for no reason.” You mumbled into him.
“Look at us, problem solvers!” He chuckled, and you felt the vibrations through your cheek where it was lying on his chest. You couldn’t help but let out a small laugh.
“I got you dinner.” He sat up and reached for the bag of takeout, gently dropping it on the bed.
“You didn’t have to.”
“You haven’t eaten all day.”
“I could’ve made myself something.”
“Too late.” He tore the bag open and took everything out, handing you a fork and a container. You propped yourself up on the pillows at the head of the bed and Pedro followed suit, reaching an arm over your shoulders and letting you lean on it. You moved in closer to him, relishing in the proximity.
“How was your day?” You asked between mouthfuls.
“Well, my girlfriend yelled at me—” He laughed and you nuzzled your face into his neck.

love, death, and curses - toge inumaki
Tumblr media
word count: 6k warnings: swearing, gore, stabbing summary: near death experiences make people confess the funniest things ___
A simple assignment.  It’s always the simple assignments that go horribly wrong, isn’t it? It must be some sick joke.  Why couldn’t things just go right for once? A break would be nice… but there were no breaks in this line of work.
“Fuck!”
(y/n) dropped herself to the ground before the four-eyed curse throwing itself at her could actually hit her.  With no time to catch her breath, she threw herself back, pulled the ring knife out of the holster on her thigh, and even with her hazy sight she was able to fling the small weapon into it’s skull.
Nope, no breaks.  Just knives and evil spirits.
“Tuna!”
Toge’s worried voice carried from some twenty feet away, or wherever he was taking on more grade threes’ than he probably should have, but even as (y/n) tried to make her way to help him, it just seemed more spirits were spawning.
“I’m fine!” She hollered back.
With a kick to the curse’s disappearing body, it rolled over and she was able to retrieve her knife.  Just in the knick of time as three more curses approached.
This wasn’t looking good.
And things had been so nice this morning. ___
~ earlier that day ~
“Mustard leaf”
Finger stalling on the line in the book she was reading, (y/n) glanced behind her, a smile blossoming on her face as her favorite cursed speech user approached.
She’d been studying in the common room all morning, and it was about time some better entertainment rolled around.  And with a cute language and cuter face, here it was.
“Hey,” She greeted him back, and moved over on the couch so there was room for him to sit.  “You here to save me from my studying?”
From the crinkles around his eyes, she knew he was grinning as he plopped down on the couch next to her.
“Salmon” He chuckled to himself.
Truth was, he’d been working himself up all morning trying to find a way to ask (y/n) out, to a movie or dinner or anything she wanted to do at all.  He’s been trying to do it for a while, but it’s hard when you can’t exactly just say the words.
(That was kind of a copout, there was always writing on the post-its he kept in his pocket, or taking her hand and staring deep into her eyes, but he wasn’t exactly the most experienced when it came to these things, and he really wanted to sweep her off her feet)
So now here he was, blushing like crazy under his collar, his hands fidgeting together, with about fifteen crumpled up post-its in his jacket pocket with everything he’d had prepared for this moment.
And this was the moment.  He’d decided.  He didn’t want to put it off any longer, and he’d told himself all morning that no matter what, he was going to ask her out!
(Panda was a big help too, but he was trying to not think about him right now)
“You alright?” (y/n) asked, drawing Toge out of his scrambling brain.
His brows furrowed, confused.
“You’re just quieter than usual,” She explained, laughing a bit.  “Usually you’re talking my ear off.  Remember at the market, that lady thought you were yelling at me about how to make rice balls?”
She laughs more at the memory, and it was a funny one, but Toge can only bring himself to force out a few chuckles.
“So what is it then?” She asks, closing her textbook and tossing it onto the coffee table so that he could have her attention.
Admittedly, he’d already had her attention as soon as he’d walked into the room.  He always did.  It didn’t matter what was in front of her, if Toge appeared, she was a goner.
(One time she was waxing Maki’s eyebrows when Toge appeared.  Maki still hasn’t forgiven her for taking half of the left one.  Even after it grew back)
He shakes his head, mumbling a ‘salmon’, which (y/n) assumes was meant to assure her he was alright, but it wasn’t all that convincing.
“Toge…” (y/n) said softly, turning her body sideways on the cushion to give him more of her attention.  “I think I know what this is about…”
His eyes go wide.
Did she? Was he so transparent? Had he been embarrassing himself this whole time?
“Yuuta hasn’t written in a while,” She sighed.
Oh.  Right.  That guy.
(Yuuta was one of Toge’s closest friends, but he hadn’t been anywhere close to present in his mind currently)
“I miss him too.  But he’s probably just busy, it’s a pretty serious assignment you know,”
Toge’s frozen for a moment, processing her assumption.  Unfortunately, (y/n) took his silence for sadness, and she continued on.
“I know that he thinks about us all the time though,” She said cheerfully, before shoving her elbow into his side.  “But who wouldn’t, right?”
The teasing is friendly, and normally he’d laugh and joke along happily.  But his nerves are eating him up inside and he feels really hot- was it hot in here? The common room was known for having a busted ac unit that always had a breeze in the room, and now here he was sweating.
“He’ll write soon enough.  Probably with some crazy story.  It’s always something weird with him” (y/n) says.  She’s so reassuring and kind.  If only this was advice he was actually looking for.
With a small, defeated sigh, Toge nods his head.
And not too long after, Gojo bursts into the room, excited to have found the pair, and claiming he had a quick assignment for them.  Leaving no good time for asking someone on a date, Toge mentally cursed his sensei for his notorious bad timing. ___
~ present ~
Things weren’t getting any easier, and (y/n) was starting to think Fushiguro was onto something for being so cranky about Gojo’s nonchalant attitude, because in no way was this assignment simple.
I’m gonna give that man a piece of my mind if I make it out of this alive.
Ring daggers could only be so good of a weapon.  Right now a sword would be more practical, like Yuuta’s katana.  Or better hand to hand skills, like Maki.  Hell, being a 6’7 bear would be more of a help than what she had on hand.
And she loved her ring daggers, she trained with them relentlessly.  But one of the four she had on her was already gone, disappeared with a curse carcass that disintegrated faster than expected.  She’d have to get better used to another weapon, because this was just getting frustrating.
Another knife flew through the air with such speed she was certain it’d hit her target.
But the particular four eyed- curse’s head she’d aimed for swerved, and the dagger whizzed right past it, before clattering to the ground, far out of reach.
(y/n) grimaced.  No way some grade two curse was able to dodge a swift attack like that.
This was no grade two.
Realization dawned on her, eyes widening as she quickly glanced around her, noticing how all the other curses they’d been fighting seemed to form a circle around this one.
They were protecting it? Hive mind? On their own accord?
Her train of thought ran a million miles a minute trying to find the answer to this behavior, but as quickly as she was trying to solve this odd mystery, she heard a yelp of surprise, and the sound of Toge’s struggle destroyed her worry about anything else but him.
“Toge!” She screeched, watching him get thrown back a few feet.  His landing wasn’t all that graceful, but he pushed himself back up to his feet without too much struggle.
“Salmon!” He hollered back before even catching his breath.
He couldn’t have (y/n) looking over her shoulder for him.  There were too many of these damn things, and she needed to focus on herself, not him.
“Look!” (y/n) called to him, pointing to the odd curse that had dodged her knife.  “I think that one’s in charge or something!”
Violet eyes follow her gesture, and just as quickly as she had, he notices the strange pattern in which most of the curses surround the one.  He nods back at her, understanding what she was telling him.
Well, at least he thought he understood.  He didn’t think she’d charge after the damn thing to take it on herself.
And yet before he could blink, she was grabbing her last two daggers out of their sheaths, and breaking into a sprint towards the curse without a second longer of hesitation.
He caught himself before he could call after her to wait.  However, just as he was about to make his way over to help her, it seemed a horde of the four-eyed nuisances were crowding before him.
He allowed himself a mutter of curses under his breath before unzipping his collar to take care of them.
Meanwhile (y/n) was confidently approaching the little ringleader.  At this point, she was taking this thing down no matter what it took.
It was agile, and able to elude more of her attacks than any grade two could.  In fact, she had her assumptions that it could have been a grade one, if it were this strong and also powerful enough to gather other curses to protect it.
And after a tiring bout of slashing towards it only for it to duck and dodge, she was starting to think that it was mocking her.  And this made her agitated.
And angry.
She’d trained for many years to perfect the craft of exorcizing curses.  Sure, there were always new things to learn, but she considered herself pretty damn good at what she did, because she stuck to a few simple rules.
And her number one rule was to stay sharp.  The better an eye is at inspecting an environment, the less likely a surprise can happen.  So emotions like fear and anger were red flags.
So she should have seen it coming.
But in an instant, the knife she had gripped in hand and plummeting towards the space between all four of the curse’s eyes, was swiped right out from her hold.
With one hand the curse had taken her wrist, halting her attack.  Then it took advantage of her shock to steal her weapon.
After that, everything seemed to blur together.
A really sharp pain in her abdomen.
That hurt.
Warmth, then heat, pooling over her skin.
Wet?
Blood?
Almost in slow motion, she looked down.
Her own knife.  In the hand of a curse.  Buried in her guts.
It seemed surreal, in the most horrific way possible.  In what world she thought her death would come from her own negligence- her own weapon damn it! Her anger was only set aflame.  With self preservation and fury colliding in her bones, she found herself acting without thought.
As Toge was trying to fight through the raw pain in his sore throat, he was contemplating a bit of hand to hand until he could spare a second to chug down his medicine and obliterate what was left of the curses.  He didn’t want to risk rushing it and losing what little medicine he had left.
The answer came to him before he could do anything, and right before his eyes, the curses he’d been fighting off started to disappear.
At first he was on guard, surprised, confused.  But as the area around him began to clear and he saw the curse (y/n) had been fighting with was crumpled to the ground, a knife in the middle of it’s face, it clicked.
He chugged down the rest of his medicine before jogging over to her.
It’s over.
(y/n) fought to keep her eyes open, and to keep her hand covering the wound in her abdomen.  At least the fabric of her shirt was black, so the blood wasn’t so visible.
“Mustard leaf!”
Fighting to keep her vision straight, (y/n) could barely make out the double Toge heading towards her.
Toge.
“Mustard leaf!” He called out again when she hadn’t responded, worried she’d hit her head or something.
He can’t know.
She pressed her palm harder into her stomach, biting down on her cheek to keep from groaning aloud.
As Toge approached, he was clapping, cheering for her.
He was so sweet.
“Salmon roe!”
He was grinning from ear to ear, she could just barely make it out, but it made her feel warm that he was so proud of her.
Or maybe that was all the blood spilling over her hand.
She stumbled forward towards him, and he abandoned his excitement and was reaching out to steady her instantly.
With furrowed brows he waited for her to explain, to tell him what hurt, or to tell him she’d be okay.  But she didn’t say anything.
In fact, she could barely keep eye contact with him, her gaze kept shifting around, as though she didn’t have control over it.
“Mustard leaf?” He asked, concerned, his eyes flickering between hers, hoping to catch her attention.
“I-” Her voice got caught in her throat, and she coughed to try to cover for herself, but from what she could make out from Toge’s expression, she wasn’t doing well.  “I’m f-fine, I’m okay” She forced the words out with as little a stammer as possible.
Toge wasn’t believing it.
“Bonito flakes”
His voice was harsh.  He was upset.
Normally (y/n) was comfortable voicing when she had an injury.  They both were.  They always reassured each other they were okay after missions.  Especially particularly difficult ones.  So for her to be blatantly lying irked him.
But without the ability to say anything else, all he could do was glare and grumble while he pulled out his phone to get Ijichi the ‘ready for pickup’ text.
The haze in (y/n’s) was turning to dark.  Like black clouds.
I’m going to die.
She blinked a few times, trying to focus her vision well enough to keep herself upright at least.
Am I swaying? I feel like I’m not standing upright.
That awful slow-motion feeling came back as she lowered her head to focus on her feet, just to make sure they were both planted on the ground.
Before she could even notice her feet, her eyes landed on her blood covered hand, and suddenly a wave of nausea hit her.
“T-Toge,” She stuttered out, clutching her hand tighter to her stomach, and forcing herself to look up at him.  “I-I’m sorry,”
Her voice broke into a whimper, effectively washing away any annoyance Toge had been feeling, and now he was worried immensely.
He shook his head in confusion, silently asking her what was going on.
“I…” She trailed off, her head going light.  “I can barely keep my eyes open”
She was losing feeling in her legs completely now.
“Mustard leaf?” He asked, reaching his hands out to her shoulders, steadying the slight swaying she was starting to do.
And then she stumbled forward, falling almost completely against him.
“Mustard leaf!?” He asked a little louder, hoping she would be able to tell him what was going on.
But as he secured his arms around her, he felt something on his hand.
Something warm.
And wet.
No.
“Mustard leaf?”
That time, the question came out a lot smaller.  Quieter.
Shakily, he brought his hand out, confirming his fear when he saw the blood.
“It’s- it’s okay,” (y/n) stammered, lifting her heavy head from his shoulder.
But Toge was already looking her over for the source of the blood.
“It’s just a little scratch-”
“Bonito flakes!”
Prying her hand away from her abdomen, it was like he was living a nightmare.
Her hand was stained in red, and from the looks of the hole in her shirt, this wasn’t even a scratch.
He wants to scold her, cuss her out for hiding an injury like this from him.  He wants to comfort her, tell her she’ll be okay and he’d take care of her now and do whatever was needed to fix her up.
Even if he was able to speak, he wouldn’t have been able to.  His throat closed up and hot tears rose to his eyes so fast, anything that came out would have been a stuttered, blubbering mess.
“I didn’t-” (y/n) coughed, and he tried his best to wipe the blood from her lips, but she swatted his hand away.  “Listen,”
Her half-lidded eyes met his, and she hoped he’d just shut up so she could say what she needed to.  She didn’t know when she’d pass out, but she knew it was coming.
“I… I j-just didn’t want t-to h-hurt you,” Her words are a bit slur and she can’t fight that stutter very well but he catches on to every word.  “I’m s-sorry,”
He shakes his head.
Don’t be sorry, he means, and he hopes she understands.
“I’m so, so sorry,” (y/n) repeats, her voice growing weaker, softer.
She grows a little heavier in his hold, and carefully, he lowers them, hoping to help save her energy.  He’s torn between holding her tightly, in an iron grip where nothing could ever hurt her again- or barely touching her, she was too delicate right now, he couldn’t bear to cause her any more pain.
As he cradles her in his lap with one arm, his other hand putting as much pressure on her wound as he could manage, he’s feverishly looking around, cursing silently that Ijichi’s car hasn’t rolled up yet.
What part of ‘EMERGENCY (Y/N) GOT HURT AND NEEDS SHOKO NOW’ wasn’t understood? He should have been here seconds after that text was delivered.
Glancing back down at (y/n), the situation wasn’t looking good.
Her eyes had fallen closed, her head lolled against his arm weakly, and the pants coming from her mouth grew fainter.  His panic was worsening.
How could this happen? How could he let this happen? He was a terrible partner, and friend.  He was never going to forgive himself for this.
He patted her cheek gently, trying to stir her into consciousness for just a little longer.
(y/n) whimpered, her eyelids fluttering briefly, but she refused to open them.
If only he could say something, beg her to stay awake for just a minute longer.  Ijichi would be here soon-
“Toge,”
It was a mumble, but it was something.
He smoothed his trembling hand over her cheek, staring at her intently, and impatiently.
“You sh-should know,” She continued.
It took a tremendous effort to roll her head so she could look up at him.
If I’m going to die, I might as well suck it up and tell him I love him.
A shiver ran through her body, and Toge scrambled to get his jacket off, draping it over top of her, making sure to tuck the fabric around her shoulders so she was as comfortable as could be.
Even in her declining state of mind, she noticed a few things.
First, his collar was off.  Usually whenever he wasn’t wearing his face covering, she couldn’t help but smile and blush like a little girl with a crush.  He had the most handsome face, she simply had to admire him for his beauty.
Second, his hands were trembling incredibly hard.  She could see it as he tucked her into his coat, and she could feel it as well.  He was scared for her life.  Hell, she was too, but seeing him become this much of a wreck was starting to make this all too real for her.
And third, her pain was starting to go away.  At first she was relieved, but she’s realized now that it’s been replaced with a numbness, across her entire body.  That wasn’t a good sign.
I can’t possibly tell him how I feel, and then die in his arms.  It wouldn’t be right.
So instead, she just stared at him.  His violet eyes were so round, and filled with fear.  She wished that she had the words to actually comfort her, but she knew that there was nothing she could say that he would believe.
He shakes his head a little, his brows furrowing even deeper.  She knows that if he could speak he would be telling her to spit it out already.
“You’re beautiful,” She murmurs.
The knot in his brow softened into a more confused look, and it only made her smile.
Oh no.  She’s smiling.  This can’t be good.
“You’re the m-most beautiful person I’ve ever known,” She goes on, her murmurs turning into lovesick babbles.  “I n-never told you… I was too nervous I g-guess.  But I should have told you,”
He starts to shake his head again, but her small smile only blossoms into a toothy grin.  It would be off putting with the blood stained on her lips, but he has to admit even now, something in him just melts.
“You’re my favorite person, okay?”
It takes everything she has to keep her eyes open, to stare at him and try to convey every last feeling she has towards him.
For a moment he just stares back at her, his mouth moving a bit but no words were coming out.
And then slowly, he nods his head at her.
He wants to keep fighting, to keep smacking her until her eyes stay open, to keep shaking his head at her because he can’t scream for her to just please stay awake.
It’s dawning on him now, how quickly time is ticking, and the last thing either of them need is more panic.
So he tries to calm himself, for her sake.
But her eyes are closing again, and he can see the rise and fall in her chest is slowing, until it’s barely moving at all.
By the time the car pulls up and Ijichi is hopping out and running over to them, Toge hadn’t gotten her to open her eyes once. ___
Fuck it was bright.
(y/n) winced as she slowly blinked her eyes open, trying to get used to the blinding white shining on her.  With a groan she raised her hand to her face, rubbing her already strained eyes.
“Oh, you’re up earlier than I thought”
Dragging her palm down her face, (y/n) squinted to see Shoko smiling down at her, clipboard in hand.
“I’m not dead?”
“Not this time,” The doctor jests, smirking to herself.  “Gave us a scare though.  Especially Inumaki”
Toge.
“Where is-?”
“I’ll let him know you’re up in a minute, don’t worry.  First, can you tell me what all you remember?”
“Yeah, I got stabbed with my own knife.  Then I almost died.  And now I’m alive and embarrassed and I will never hear the end of it.  Actually… could you do me a favor-?”
“I’m not killing you.  Sorry, kid”
“Shit”
Shoko chuckled to herself.
“I guess I can check off alert and snarky,” She teases, before setting her board down.  “Any pain? Nausea?”
“Just absolute delight to be here” (y/n) teases back.
Shoko’s smiling, which is a bit of a rare sight, but (y/n’s) more familiar with it than her peers.
“As always,” Shoko hums.  “Well, let me find your boyfriend.  Try not to strain yourself before then, alright?”
“No promises” (y/n) muttered back.
With that, the doctor was strutting out of the room.  From the way the left side of her lab coat sagged a little heavier than the right, she figured she had some extra time to herself.  Ten minutes if she smoked alone, twenty five if Gojo happened to catch up with her.
Settling back into her cot, she shut her eyes and sighed.
I should have asked her to shut the lights off before she left.
She sat up again, trying to find something to put over her eyes to keep the LED’s from piercing right through her eyelids.  Unfortunately the thin cotton blanket she had wasn’t large enough to cover her head to toe, and she wasn’t ready to give up her pillow- the only comfortable thing about this dumb cot- so that left her back at square one.
It was then that she realized she was wearing an extra layer.  Puzzled, she inspected the jacket that clearly wasn’t hers.
Did Shoko give her this when she showed up?
Curiously, she dipped her hands into the pockets.  She wasn’t sure what drove her to do such a thing, but sure enough she found something.
Post-its.  A bunch of folded and crumpled post-its.
Oh, this is Toge’s jacket!
She felt her face get warm as she smiled, and piled them up in her lap.  These must have been all the notes he wrote to better communicate with people throughout his day.
But after unfolding the first one, she wasn’t so sure what these notes were.  Scribbled there in Toge’s distinct handwriting, was without a doubt a love note.
You’re so beautiful no matter what you wear or do with your hair.  It’s mostly because of your personality, but your eyes take some of the blame too.
She had to admit, she was pretty shocked.  She didn’t think Toge was the type to have a romantic side, but clearly he’s got a knack for it.
Now all that was left to figure out was who these little love notes were meant to be delivered to.
And hell, there was no other entertainment in this boring, bright room.  So why not indulge in a little snooping?
Eagerly, she uncrumpled the next one.
I’m sorry I can’t speak well to you, but I’m glad I can still laugh, because you make me laugh every time I’m with you.  And sometimes you’re funny too! :)
(y/n) snorted before rolling her eyes.  Alright, he must have had some help from Panda.  She reached for the next note.
You tell me all the time how brave I am and now here I am pouring it all out there.  I wish I could tell you myself instead of writing all these notes.
A few of the notes didn’t even have words, just doodles, but they were just as cute.  She especially loved the one of two turtles holding hands.  Well, stubs.  He drew their little stubs touching with a heart over them.
It wasn’t meant for her, but she decided she’d have to steal that one for herself.  It was just too cute.
“Tuna!”
Dropping the post-its, (y/n’s) head shot up to the doorway where her visitor was standing.  She looked like a deer caught in headlights- which she was, he’d literally just caught her reading through his private notes.
“Toge!” She squeaked, embarrassed, but there was still a smile on her face, eager to see him as always.
She can’t see it because he has his collar zipped up, but his face was red with bashfulness.
How many of those notes had she read? Did she know they were for her? Dummy! Of course she did! It was so obvious! Idiot! Why did I even keep those in there when I gave her that jacket!?
“I’m so glad you’re here” She told him, beckoning him to come into the room.
Some of his nerves were settled as he took a few steps closer.  Maybe she hadn’t put together that the notes were for her?
“Mustard leaf?” He asked, gesturing to her stomach, which she kept covered with her blanket.
“Oh, it’s fine,” (y/n) shrugged a shoulder.
After finding the notes, she’d kind of forgotten about it actually.  Surely once her pain meds wore off she’d be irritable and reliving the worst pain she’s ever felt in her whole life- but for now she didn’t care, and she’d rather focus on something more enticing.
And nothing was more enticing than love notes to a mystery person.
“Tell me about these!” She told him, excitedly holding up the few notes that she’d read.
Toge’s eyes widened for a moment, before he decidedly shook his head back and forth.
(y/n) frowned.
“Bonito flakes” Toge explained to the best of his ability, pointing again to her blanket.
“Really, it’s fine, I can’t feel a thing right now,” (y/n) said nonchalantly.  “I’d rather just be normal? Please?” She gave him her best puppy dog eyes and held the notes up to him.
Toge sighed, staring back at her, giving up on trying to voice his concerns.  When all he could voice were rice ball ingredients, it was hard to be convincing sometimes.
But even giving her the deadest eyes he could manage wasn’t working.  And he was no match for puppy dog eyes.
(It was truly a weakness- and not just (y/n).  If anyone gave him that face, odds were he was caving in on whatever ridiculous thing they were requesting.  Panda abused this knowledge frequently)
He groaned and rolled his eyes, making (y/n) grin and cheer.
“Ok so tell me! Who are these for? Do they go here??”
She shuffles to sit upright on her cot, making Toge panic momentarily, because no way should she be moving this much after she was just stabbed.  She was still healing damnit!
He reaches his hands out, shaking his head as he grabs her shoulders to keep her in place, but she swats his hands away.
“Relax, just sit” She demands, patting the open space she’s made for him.
Toge glares at her.
“Bonito flakes”
“Stop saying that and just sit,” (y/n) requests again.  “Or I’ll walk out of this room and find Panda and make him tell me who these are-”
His groan is louder this time, more annoyed, before he shoves his finger in her face.
(y/n’s) brows knit together.
“Huh?”
He rolls his eyes.
His finger points rather aggressively to the notes in her lap, before pointing at her again.
How much clearer could he be? Was he going to have to spell it out for her?
“Yeah… I found them in your pockets-”
Toge smacked his hand to his head.
Man, he loved her.  But this was a whole different level of cluelessness.
He’d have to find another way to tell her.  So he went sifting through the mess of post-its.  Surely there’d be a note in there that explained his feelings to her.
(y/n) watched him curiously, not quite sure what he was doing, but she had to admit she was a little entertained by his annoyed scrambling.  It was cute to get him worked up, and he didn’t do it often, so it was also a treat.
Finally, he produced the perfect note, and handed it to her.  (y/n) raised a brow at him before she took it.
This note wasn’t like the others.  It was a direct question, clearly meant to be used to communicate with, not just a cute message or doodle.
(y/n), I’ve liked you for a really long time, and you’re a great friend.  But I think we would be great as something more.  Would you want to go on a date with me?
Her eyes widened as she re-read the note a few times, scanning it as if it were going to say something else after ten more reads.  But sure enough, it had her name, and he was asking her out.
He was asking her out!!
“Oh my god,” She mumbled, mostly to herself but Toge heard it anyway.  “I’m an idiot,”
Glancing up at him, she caught his nodding, and smacked his arm.
“But you’re a bigger idiot!” She chastised.  “Why didn’t you tell me sooner?”
He shrugged his shoulders.  There were few instances where he was lucky to not have to explain himself.
Like right now, he didn’t have to sit here and tell her he was too scared of rejection to tell her how he really felt about her.  That would be humiliating.  Instead, he gets to stand there and just smile at her.
“Well, you’re in luck.  I like you too,” (y/n) replies, giving him a smile.  “I didn’t know that you felt this way,”
He shrugs his shoulders.
“So romantic,” She chuckles, rolling her eyes at him.  “So what kind of date do you have planned?”
He reaches for one of the post-its, flipping it over and grabbing one of Shoko’s pens.  (y/n) waits while he quickly scribbles on the paper.
Movie?
(y/n) grins as she reads it, nodding her head in agreement.
“How about dinner too?” She asks, her cheeks starting to tinge with pink.
Toge nods excitedly.
“Okay, perfect.  It’s a date then,” (y/n) grins back.  The elation of this moment was definitely going to last until her pain wore off.  “You know it’s funny, I was actually going to confess last night,”
Toge rose a brow, before whistling, making her giggle.
“Oh shut up.  I only didn’t because… you know.  If I had…”
Finally, Toge perches himself on the side of the cot beside her.  He unzips his collar before reaching out to take hold of her hand.  (y/n) smiles softly at the sweet gesture.  She admired him very much for the way he was able to convey exactly what he wanted to say.
“I just didn’t want to drop a bomb on you and then… die.  It didn’t seem right, and I wanted the right time to tell you, you know that I… I love you”
His eyes widened like a deer caught in headlights.  Brows raised and mouth slightly parted.  He was shocked.  (y/n’s) pink cheeks deepened to a bright red, and she could feel the heat spreading to her neck as well.
All at once, it hits Toge, and his hands sprung to action.
You love me? He signs.
“Well, yeah,” She answers.  “I was trying not to die in front of you, doesn’t that make it kind of obvious?”
He shakes his head at her, a smile beginning to break out across his face.
He holds his hand up, sticking out his thumb, index finger, and pinky.
(y/n) may have been a bit rusty when it came to sign language, but she knew what that one meant.
She reached out, taking his hand and tugging gently, prompting him to lean closer.
Brows furrowed, Toge followed the silent command, turning his head with the expectation that she was going to say something softly in his ear.
With a hum, (y/n’s) free hand finds his cheek, directing him to face her again, before guiding him down closer so that she could plant her lips on his.
For a moment, he hesitates.  His eyes go wide and it feels like his whole body is frozen.  He wonders briefly if this is what his opponents felt when he used his cursed speech to stop them in place.
It’s like all time as he knows it comes to a halt.
And then, slowly but surely, he melts into the sensation.
Her lips, soft and sweet like the chapstick Shoko always keeps around, were warm, and familiar.  As though he’d kissed them countless times before.  His hands find their natural place at her jaw, keeping her in place so he can be sure to kiss her again and again.
The feeling of the corners of her mouth tilting upwards was sensational, and Toge finds himself smiling into the kiss as well.  The pair silently acknowledged that now was as good a time as any to finally come together.
When time starts again and works against them, forcing them to break apart for air, their smiles were ever so present.  Paired with pink cheeks and shy eyes that could barely maintain contact.
“I’m going to have to learn sign language for kiss me, huh?” (y/n) teases quietly.
Toge beams, before happily showing her the motion.  He brings his fingers to his thumb, then traced his mouth to his cheekbone.  The phrase is finished with pointing to himself.
“Well, if you insist” (y/n) giggles, before yanking on him again so she can reach him once more.
Their laughter is interrupted as their lips meet once more, and this time Toge thinks he might never come back up for air. ___

Heart Beat
(18+, Explicit) kinktober 2023 Day 13 Heart Beat Bloodweave (background mentions of themxtav)
Gale’s heartbeat had been off-putting at first. Astarion had quickly been able to relegate everyone else’s heart sounds to background noise, except Gale’s. Gale’s heartbeat had been irregular to such a degree that even the constant irregularity hadn’t become regular. It sped up at the oddest times, skipped beats frequently, and when the wizard was at his least stable Astarion had actually become a little concerned he could hear the bomb’s slow detonation. Deep in the night while the others slept, Astarion could only hear the wizard’s.
In an act of self-preservation, Astarion worked hard to try and distance himself.
Even after the tottering wizard had stabilized the orb, it simply wasn’t normal.
It had been jarring when he first arrived in Waterdeep, the absence of chaos in the wizard’s chest. The wizard’s heartbeat had returned to a normal human tone, often syncing annoyingly with Tav’s. And maybe Astarion had spent more than one early morning watching Gale sleep, listening to see if there was any remaining tick. That was for no one to know but him.
Part of Astarion hated how attuned he’d become to Gale’s heartbeat, and through it now his moods. Months ago if he’d imagined which of their bizarre crew he might have allowed himself to be sweet on, well, he would have laughed at his own foolishness. Then he would have chosen Tav.
He was half right.
It was a strange comradery with Gale, one where they still spent the majority of their time arguing. But, admittedly, without the impending death from all sides, the wizard was… likable. Astarion had never been blind and had always acknowledged Gale’s attractiveness but he’d also done that with Wyll and Halsin and Shadowheart… As much as he’d wanted to strangle each and every one of them at times, at least no one could say they were an ugly group. Even the githyanki had her appeal.
He’d just never imagined Gale being someone he’d willingly kind of live with.
This is why when he noticed Gale’s heart rate kicking in a way that normally he’d only associated with Tav he was a bit less than personable when he spat out, “She’s not here you know.”
Gale looked at him utterly confused, eyebrows drawn together.
He didn’t know why the wizard was confused. Tav was… somewhere. Once she’d announced she was leaving for the day Astarion had lost interest. He couldn’t move about in the sun any longer so anything beyond these walls while the sun was out was lost to him. He’d never seen Waterdeep by day and that rubbed him the wrong way. It was best not to think about.
“You’re thinking about her,” Astarion provided once it was apparent Gale was never going to understand on his own.
“I wasn’t, actually,” Gale asserted with a shake of his head.
Astarion huffed, amused that the wizard was trying to lie to him. “Your heart rate jumps when you see or think of her,” he explained, “which it did just now.”
Gale’s head cocked to the side, he looked remarkably like Scratch waiting for someone to throw the ball. “My heart rate?”
“Yes, darling, your heart rate.”
“You can hear it?” Gale questioned, eyes going bright with interest. He leaned forward where he was sitting and his hands folded on his lap. Astarion immediately knew this look was one of academic interest. Mentally, he kicked himself as he realized he unwittingly trapped himself into one of Gale’s ‘curiosities.’
“I hear a lot of things, I’m a vampire remember?” he sounded more irritable than he really was, hoping to deter Gale’s line of questioning with a sour mood.
Gale would not be deterred. “Well, yes but very few vampires have assisted in the books written on them. I had assumed enhanced hearing didn’t go that far. Do you hear other bodily sounds as well?”
“What a disgusting way to phrase that,” Astarion said, “and well, yes, I guess I can. But the heart is more important so it’s something I focus on.”
“Yes,” Gale mused his eyes darting toward his desk as if he were considering jumping up to record these details, “being related to the blood I imagine you would.”
Astarion realized he either needed to distract the wizard, leave, or resign himself to hours of torturous and invasive questions. He didn’t really want to leave, there wasn’t much in the rest of the tower but the questions were also something he wanted to avoid. So a distraction it was.
“What were you thinking about Tav?” Astarion asked quickly as Gale opened his mouth to no doubt ask another series of questions. “I assume it was something filthy,” he drawled.
Gale’s mouth shut. Astarion waited as a myriad of thoughts ran about the wizard’s face. “I wasn’t,” Gale settled on, his tone unusually neutral.
Astarion smirked, wondering what dirty thoughts had been going through the other man’s brain, especially given how hard he was working to cover up that he’d actually had them. He turned and stalked towards Gale, pleased to have been finally given something to torture him about.
Then he heard it. The kick of Gale’s heart once again.
Astarion froze as a realization washed over him.
It hadn’t been about Tav. It had been about him.
Oh, dear.
The way Gale’s eyes widened, he knew that he’d been caught. Curious was putting too mildly a point to Astarion’s feelings. He desperately needed to know exactly what the wizard was thinking.
“So,” he asked as he resumed stalking toward Gale, “if it wasn’t about Tav, what were you thinking?”
Gale clearly knew that Astarion had realized it had something to do with him, but he was sure the wizard would lie. Which is why it came as a surprise when Gale didn’t.
“That you look… nice,” Gale admitted.
Astarion smirked finally coming to a stop in front of Gale. “Darling,” he purred, “you don’t sound like that over nice.” He couldn’t stop himself from reaching forward to thread his fingers through the wizard’s hair, leaning over him just slightly.
A flush rose on Gale’s cheeks, and he cleared his throat but did not answer.
“What,” Astarion gave a little tug to Gale’s hair and his lips dropped open appealingly, “were you thinking about?”
Gale swallowed. “You know I find you attractive,” he was still evading the question.
Another tug, less gentle this time, forcing Gale’s head back so that his neck was arched enticingly. “Yes but what had your heart pumping like that? I don’t think all that blood was going to that giant brain of yours.” He glanced down and proved his point. Gale was hard against the front of his trousers.
Gale’s eyes had gone glassy with Astarion’s manhandling which was certainly a revelation.
“I want to suck your cock,” the words left Gale as if he hadn’t meant to say them. The look on his face confirmed that he hadn’t.
Astarion froze once again.
This was crossing a line that they hadn’t crossed before. Well, it was more like violently catapulting over it. Everything they’d done leading up to this moment had been in front of Tav. This would just be them alone. It removed all sense of security they’d wrapped themselves up in.
Gale was quickly beginning to look worried, “I’m sorry, I didn’t-”
“Shut up,” Astarion growled.
Gale did.
Astarion glanced down at his hand and realized. Realized that he’d crossed the line several minutes ago, the exact moment he’d threaded his hand through Gale’s hair. The wizard of course would let him back out graciously, more than graciously if Astarion never mentioned that he’d actually announced he wanted to suck his cock. It was with trepidation that Astarion realized he didn’t want to back out.
The silence was weighing heavily on Gale, his eyes had begun darting around nervously. No doubt he would have fled from the room if Astarion’s hand hadn’t been keeping him in place.
“On your knees,” Astarion ordered after letting it go on just a bit longer.
Gale moved surprisingly quickly to his knees for someone who often lamented how they hurt. Despite this, once he was there, Gale just waited eyes locked onto the bulge in Astarion’s pants.
“Fuck,” Astarion hissed when he realized what the wizard was waiting for.
This wasn’t just Gale being overly cautious about Astarion’s sometimes panic attacks from certain situations. This was waiting for an order. This was submission.
In the rare moment he’d considered fucking Gale alone he’d assumed they’d both fight for dominance. He’d been almost certain of it after he’d seen how the wizard was with Tav in bed. He’d thought that at best they’d reach and understanding, at worst he’d have to be the one to submit.
Suddenly, the urge to wreck Gale’s composure was all-consuming.
“Take out my cock if you want it so badly,” Astarion growled through clenched teeth.
Gale's hands were quick to follow that order, Astarion didn’t miss the way his tongue darted out to lick his lips. Once again, as soon as he’d completed his task, he waited.
This was intoxicating.
Gripping his cock with his free hand, Astarion brought it to Gale’s mouth. Teasingly, he brushed the tip across his lips yanking, Gale apparently couldn’t resist darting his tongue out for it. Astarion yanked harshly on the hand still embedded in the wizard’s hair, jerking his head back again. The noise that spilled from Gale was more a moan than anything, and his heart rate enticingly sped up with arousal.
“Open,” Astarion ordered, tapping his cock off the wizard’s lips once he regained his balance.
Gale’s mouth fell open, but he did nothing else.
Astarion took the time to engrain this image in his brain, unsure if he’d be treated to this ever again. “Suck,” he said after some time.
Gale drew Astarion’s cock into his mouth, only deterred when his lips met the vampire’s hand. He let go, arm falling loosely at his side. Surprisingly the wizard managed to swallow most of him down before retreating.
At first, it was just as Astarion had expected: eager but skillless. Then Gale grew bolder, licking and sucking with a skill that Astarion recognized as not simply an inborn skill. Sure, the wizard spent a lot of time with his head buried between Tav’s thighs, but men were different. Cocks were different, and apparently, his wasn’t the first in the wizard’s mouth.
He desperately needed to know, having always assumed the wizard as some kind of sexually repressed prude in his youth. Too wrapped up in magic, in Mystra, to have given his body to others.
“And how many cocks have been down your throat?” Astarion asked, fingers tightening in Gale’s hair.
Gale glared up at him. Astarion found he welcomed that defiant spark, the one that fueled almost all of their conversations. But instead of arguing Gale did something devastating with the tip of his tongue against Astarion’s slit.
“Fuck,” Astarion hissed. He yanked on Gale’s hair, pulling him further onto his cock. He hadn’t meant to and was about to actually apologize when he felt the wizard swallow in an effort to relax his throat. Astarion’s eyes went wide, but instead of taking the invitation, he yanked Gale off of him.
“I might like it rough, but I do try not to cause lasting harm,” he warned.
“You wont,” Gale promised sounding very sure of himself.
Astarion studied the wizard’s face for any sign of reservation. He didn’t find any.
“I am going to find every man who’s fucked your throat and write him a thank you note,” Astarion promised.
Gale’s smile was wicked. “You’ll be writing a long time.” Then he greedily pulled Astarion’s cock back into his mouth before the vampire could even think to demand that he explain.
Gale swallowed him down, working his jaw and throat until his nose bumped against Astarion. Astarion let him do this a few times before tightening his grasp on Gale’s hair, a warning.
In response Gale very deliberately wrapped his hand around Astarion’s calf, digging two of his fingers into the muscle. Astarion realized this as the same motion he’d demonstrated to Tav not very long ago.
There was no perception in which Astarion was considered green or inexperienced, yet Gale was leaving him upended. All this new knowledge was seriously affecting the image of the wizard he had created. It was leaving him dizzy and far more aroused than it should have.
Astarion thrust into Gale’s mouth with no further warning, only stopping when he felt the ridges of the other man’s throat. Gale groaned, his other hand moving to hold onto Astarion’s leg for support. There was a soft scrape of teeth when he pulled back, and while Astarion could have ordered him to open wider or even jabbed his thumb into the wizard’s jaw, he relished in the feeling instead. Fucking into his pliant mouth again and again.
Astarion wanted to come like this, to spill down the wizard’s throat. He intended to, but while he was an asshole, he wasn’t cruel.
“I’m not returning the favor,” Astarion warned, “touch yourself.”
He lightened up on his thrusts, doing so shallowly allowing the wizard’s tongue to massage him instead. Gale took this reprieve to pull his cock out and begin fisting it. Seeing it, Astarion almost regretted his proclamation, at some point he did intend to torture the wizard.
“Suck,” Astarion ordered, hand falling to the back of Gale’s head.
Gale did as he was told, sucking even as he had begun fucking into his own hand. He was moaning, the vibrations doing horribly wonderful things to Astarion. His eyes slid shut against his will.
His head was filled with the slick sound of Gale’s hand on his own cocked, the wet moans around his, and the pounding of the wizard’s heart. It’s what betrayed Gale’s orgasm to Astarion. He opened his eyes to watch as the wizard spilled over his own clothing and hand.
Astarion pulled Gale’s head against him as the man went pliant. His jaw relaxed totally, allowing the vampire to fuck his throat once more. Astarion didn’t last much longer, the knowledge of whose throat he was fucking pushing him over the edge faster than just the sensation.
“Shit,” he cursed as he began spilling down Gale’s throat. He gagged now, pulling himself back enough so that Astarion finished in his mouth. Once he’d finished, Gale pulled himself back and held eye contact with Astarion as he very deliberately swallowed.
They remained like that for some time until the wizard groaned and pushed himself up onto the sofa.
“Perhaps some warning next time,” Gale complained.
Astarion didn’t even bother responding, too focused on the words ‘next time.’

my clothes? // pedro pascal (master list)
summary: pedro, your bestie, came home finding you wearing his clothes with confidence .
warnings: none :3
Tumblr media
the microwave beeped loudly, which admittedly made you jump as you were lost in thought. you made your way over to it and pulled out your mug cake, you hoped and prayed that this time it had finally worked. every time you had tried to make one of these it had gone HORRIBLY wrong, it was either dry or tasted like flour. you had even coated it in chocolate sometimes and still it would taste so bad.
“pleaseee” you took a small spoon and took a small bite. “oh thank goodness” it tasted good, finally. you grabbed some whipped cream to top it off then drizzled some toffee sause over it. just as you were on your way to sit in the hanging chair in the corner of your living room next to a bookshelf, you heard a set of keys jangling outside.
a smile crept to your face, you remembered what you were wearing, a hoodie your roommate had bought a couple days ago, as well as the matching joggers. you sped up to chair and tucked your knees to your chest hoping he wouldn’t see your outfit.
the door opened, you continued to munch on your cake. “hey darling” it was pedro, he looked tired, ready to eat and then go straight to bed. “hi, how was your day?” you asked with curiosity.
“eh, it was okay. could have been a lot better. i’m gonna order food, would you like anything?” he asked as he hung his coat up on the hanger and kicked off his shoes.
“oo yes please!” pedro then ordered the food, straight after he got into the shower. you continued to stay on your chair, scrolling through your phone.
all of a sudden you heard your name being called from your shared bedroom “yeah?” pedro walked into the living room smirking at you, he was only in a pair of shorts. you were staring but you didn’t wanna make it obvious.
“show me what your wearing” it made your cheeks flush, you began getting very warm.
“what do you mean?” you spoke with a playful tone.
“your wearing my hoodie aren’t you?” you nodded “listen i told you i’d take it!” pedro let out a laugh “i know i know, which is why i’m not annoyed at you, i like seeing you in my clothes. makes me happy”
“you’re such a sap!” pedro frowned “stop acting like you don’t like it!” you rolled your eyes.
“well, all i’m saying is that i can not promise you’ll be getting this and the joggers back”
“you took my joggers too!?”
“oops?”

At this point, she couldn’t remember how long she had been doubled over the toilet, but if her delusion was right, then she had been there forever. This wasn’t the first time the young witch of only seventeen had cried so hard she had made herself sick. And it wasn’t the first time Lily Evans had held her hair and rubbed her back in small circles and talked her through her grief. This time, however, was the first time Lily was so worried about her best friend that she left her alone in the bathroom so she could find her twin brother.
James followed Lily, wondering what had her in such a rush, and when they stopped in front of the girls' bathroom at the base of the Gryffindor Common Room steps he was even more confused.
“Evans, why in Godric’s name have you taken me to the girls' bathroom? If you think I’m going in there you’re sorely mistaken.” He jests at her, thinking the situation was lighter than it actually was.
“It’s your sister you git. Why else would I have dragged you through the halls in such a hurry?” Lily crossed her arms across her chest and huffed out in annoyance at how long she had left her friend alone.
“My sister? What’s wrong with my sister?” James was nervous now, she was the one person he never had to worry about, as in, there was nothing to worry about.
“She’s in the second stall to the left, just talk to her, please. I'm really worried about her,” Lily pleaded with the boy, “I’ll stay out here and make sure nobody else comes in.” She knew the assurance made him feel better about going in there, but James was still scared to see what he would be walking into.
James swung the door open, looking back at Lily whose eyebrows were drawn together as she bit her nails in an almost neurotic way.
As soon as he heard the door shut he made a path straight to the second stall on the left, and before he could knock and call her name, the stall door quickly opened revealing his twin with a bright red tear-stained face and puffy cracked lips.
After the few seconds it took her brain to recognize James, she fell into him, her arms wrapping around her brother.
“Okay, it’s okay.” He ran his hand rapidly up and down her back, unsure of what to do or say because he had never had to console her like this.
She was the strong one, the one who gave advice and smiled all day long. He was supposed to be crying to her about how Lily didn’t love him or about whatever stupid prank Sirius had left him out of. Never once had she fallen into him, never once had he seen her this upset, and never once had his sister ever cried over a boy. Ever.
“What’s happened? Huh? Who do I have to beat up?” He chided, trying to get her tears to stop so she would talk to him.
When his admittedly lame attempt at a joke failed, he became ten times more concerned with her current state. He moved his hands from her back to her shoulders and peeled her off of him so he could see her face.
“You’re scaring me y/n/n, tell me what happened, tell me how to fix this.”
“You have to promise me you won't yell, or beat anyone up.” She finally choked out through her tear-blocked throat.
“I can’t promise that, you’re my sister, if someone hurts you they’re gonna know about it.” He dropped his hands from her shoulders, bringing them to cross along his chest.
She looked up at him, her eyelashes wet and clumped together from the tears.
“James please just promise me you won’t seriously injure or traumatize anyone.”
And although he knew that was another promise he couldn’t make he decided to go along with it so she would tell him what was wrong.
“Okay, I promise not to seriously injure or traumatize anyone. Now, tell me what happened so we can get you to stop feeling so shitty.”
“Marlene.” Was all she said.
“McKinnon?” Was what he answered with. “What about her?”
“She has seen fit to make my life a living hell,” She bit her lip and looked to the floor before speaking again, “And there’s something else too.”
He raised his eyebrows, a silent indication telling her to go on.
“I’ve been in love with Sirius for six years but he’s dating Marlene and because they’re together whenever she says or does something to me he pretends that he’s never met me and that we haven’t lived in the same house for two years.” She spewed out the words in record time, but James got every word she said. To say he was pissed was an understatement.
“What the fuck is his problem? And what do you mean when she does something to you? Has she hurt you?” His voice got so loud Lily, and Remus, who had joined her outside the door, could both hear him.
She nodded, and his heart broke. How did he not notice this? He prided himself on how observant he was, but he failed to recognize what was going on with the most important person in his life.
“Tell me what she’s done,” he demanded, his tone scary and low. She had only seen him like this once when a nasty sixth-year Slytherin found out about Remus’s condition and tormented him for it.
She knew better than to try and get out of this conversation so she told him. She told him every jinx, charm, and hex Marlene had ever cast upon her, and while none had resulted in serious injury she was not void of bruises, cuts, and sprained limbs as a result of Marlene’s violence.
“I-I’m just sad. I'm sad that Sirius stands by and acts like I'm nothing, acts like I’m not one of his best friends. He’s never been around for Marlene’s wand work, but the horrible words she spits at me, he has bore witness to that more times than I’d like to admit.” She sighed, happy to have revealed the situation to her brother, but also in anguish after hearing the words come from her mouth.
“I swear to Godric I will kill them both. How could he do this? We’ve been best friends since first year! Not only is he betraying your trust but he’s betraying mine and severing our friendship at the same time.” He was pulling at his hair, trying to make sense of the situation, trying to understand how someone he loved so much and considered family could stand by and let someone be so cruel to his sister.
“James, you have to promise me you won't do anything. Please if she finds out I told you, or if she finds out I like Sirius the situation will only escalate.”
“How do you expect me to sit back and act like nothing's wrong? Am I supposed to go out and act all buddy-buddy with him, knowing what I know now?” He stopped pacing, settling right in front of her.
“No. I’m not asking you to do that at all. I’m just asking you to not draw attention to this with him or anyone that isn’t Lily unless I ask you to. Unless things get worse.”
“Fine, but I’m not happy about it. And I will be watching you much closer. I don’t need Marlene catching you alone in the hallway.”
“I can agree with that. And thank you. Thank you for caring and listening and helping. Seriously, I don't know what I would do if you weren’t my brother.”
James looked her over and pursed his lips. “Wash your face and calm down for a few more minutes, I’ll be just outside with Lily.”
And he walked out leaving her to try and digest what had just happened, what she had just admitted to. Not only was one of her best friends acting like he never met her, but she was letting it happen. Any other person and she would’ve stuck up for herself a long time ago, but the confusion she had from Sirius’s actions left her too overwhelmed to even think about fighting back. So she let it happen, and that was eating her alive, the fact that a singular boy could make her feel this weak.
After some time to herself, she exited the bathroom and to her surprise, three pairs of eyes were looking right at her. She had expected James and Lily to be there, but Remus, while not unwelcome, was definitely a surprise.
“I’m assuming you’ve both filled him in.” She half-heartedly threw her hand in Remus’s direction.
“I hope that’s ok.” Lily bit her lip nervously waiting to see how her best friend would react.
“It’s fine. Not like he’s been compliant in any of Sirius and Marlene's actions.” A sigh passed her lips as she walked through the group, flopping onto an empty sofa in the corner of the common room.
“I knew he was an arse y/n, but I never thought he would stand by and let someone be so cruel to you. Especially you.” Remus said, with a sad expression on his face as he sat next to her on the couch.
“What do you mean, especially me?” She shifted her body so it was facing the boy whose eyes had gone wide, finally realizing what he meant to say in his head, he actually said out loud.
“Oh good job Remus,” James huffed out, “now you’ve done it.”
“Can someone please tell me what he means?” She looked rapidly back and forth between her three friends, waiting for someone to pluck up the courage to tell her.
Of course, it was her brother that ended up spilling the secret.
“Sirius told us last year that he had a crush on you.”
“What?” Tears sprang to her eyes, this made everything worse. “But he’s with Marlene now, you have to be lying.”
“Listen,” Remus said, “We all thought it was strange too, but when we asked him about it he refused to say another word about you or how he felt about you. I’d never seen him clam up like he did when we asked.”
Just as she was about to speak, the black-haired beauty strutted through the common room door, a wide smirk plastered on his face and a strong arm wrapped around Marlene's waist. The group snapped their heads up to look in his direction, and as soon as Sirius made eye contact with them and started to make his way over y/n got up and walked as fast to her room as humanly possible, James following closely behind while Lily and Remus stayed back.
“What’s up with the wonder twins?” Sirius laughed, though it quickly died down when he saw the sour looks on Lily and Remus's faces.
“Hopefully she’s going to throw up her lunch. She could stand to lose a few pounds.” Marlene said with a nasty snigger in her tone.
Sirius let his grip from her waist go at the comment, but he said nothing to protest the words.
“What the fuck did you just say?” Lily yelled as she stood from her spot on the couch.
“Oh please Evans you know how insecure she is, I’m just trying to be honest.” Marlene looked at Sirius waiting for him to back her up, but he kept his eyes down and stayed quiet.
Just as Lily tried to go for Marlene, Remus grabbed her arm and started pulling her away.
“Shut your dog up Sirius before I do it for you!” Lily spat from behind Remus’s shoulder as he continued to push her up the dorm stairs.
As the two traveled out of sight, Marlene took a seat on the couch, pulling Sirius down with her. They were both silent, but the thoughts in his head were deafening. He never meant for it to go this far. He got with Marlene as a way to make y/n jealous, but after her cold shoulders and silent treatments, he realized he was too far gone in this horrible situation so he decided to sit by and let it resolve itself. Which was the worst thing he could’ve ever done.
A week later and none of the Marauders, Lily, or y/n would even look in Sirius’s direction. They were freezing him out until he came to his senses, even though it seemed he wouldn’t any time soon.
It was one of those rare moments walking back to the common room from class where she found herself alone. Her few friends that were in her potions class all went to the library while she opted for a nap. Mistake number one. She decided to take a different route than normal to get back to the common room that day. Mistake number two. Mistake number three was freezing up instead of turning the other way when she saw Marlene McKinnon waltzing down the hallway.
“Oh look who we have here!” Marlene was still a few feet away but that sickly sweet voice rushed up to greet her ears.
Y/n looked around hoping they weren’t alone, but of course they were. Just her luck.
“What do you want Marlene?”
“Oh well actually I want absolutely nothing to do with you, but I heard a rumor that you want everything to do with my boyfriend.”
“What on Earth are you talking about?” She tried to hide the worry in her voice, but she couldn’t cover it as well as she hoped.
“Oh, don’t play coy. You know exactly what I’m talking about.” She swore Marlene’s eyes got three shades darker. “Lucky for you I learned a new spell today, and the teacher told me to practice so that is exactly what I intend to do. Diffindo!”
Marlene drew her wand before y/n could duck and two sharp sparks flew from the wand. One smaller spark sliced her cheek and the second larger one opened a large gash across her stomach, ripping through her clothing. Y/n toppled both from the searing pain of the fresh cuts, and also from the impact of the spell.
“Stay away from my boyfriend. Stay away from me. Next time I won’t just scar that ugly face.” Marlene slid her wand back into her robes and walked off as if she didn’t just do what she did.
After Marlene’s footsteps could no longer be heard down the hall, she slid back against the wall. She peeled her arm from around her torso trying to be brave enough to open her eyes which had been squeezed shut from pain.
Blood seeped into her robes and uniform from the deep slice on her stomach, and more of the red liquid dripped down her mouth and jaw from the wound on her cheek. Looking down at her torso all she could get out was a loud, pained cry. Why? Why did it go this far? Why did Marlene hate her enough to scar her face and bloody her body?
The blood would not stop pouring from her stomach. She was terrified. She was getting dizzy from the sight of her blood, and from the rapid loss of it.
A stray Gryffindor walking down the dim corridor found her first. She didn’t know her name, but she was thankful someone was there to help.
“You stay right here. I’m going to get your brother. You’re gonna be okay.” The words were jumbled in her foggy brain, but she got the jist of what the kind girl was saying.
By the time James got there, she must have been passed out because the next thing she knew her dry eyes were blinking away the harsh light of the hospital wing.
“Oh good darling, you’re awake.” Madame Pomfrey walked up alongside the bed she was laying on. She began prodding at the cut on her face before moving down to her stomach. Y/n did not respond to the older woman who was taking care of her. She instead stared at the ceiling. Trying and failing to put the pieces of what happened together in her head.
“Where’s James?” She finally spoke after many minutes of silence.
“Right outside love, let me go get him.”After Madame Pomfrey left the curtained area, the girl picked her head up to assess the damage. She couldn’t even sit up before pain shot through her entire body. A stray tear slid down her face as she slowly laid back down, opting to leave the characteristics of her wounds up for interpretation. The curtains flew open and once again three pairs of eyes were looking at her. James, Remus, and Lily. Thank Godric they were here.
“How bad is it?” She asked the group, mostly aiming the question at her twin.
“It was bad, but you know Poppy, she can fix anything.” James sat in the chair next to her, running his thumb along the fresh scar that decorated her face.
“She fixed your cheek easily. The scar looks badass.” Lily added.
“What about my stomach?”
“That one was trickier, it was so deep and you lost so much blood. Pomfrey said it may take a few more hours to fully heal, but there’s going to be a scar.” James sighed.
Silence made the air thick, the three friends looked at each other from their respective chairs, none of them expecting the next question that would come from the girl on the bed.
“Does Sirius know what happened?”
Remus drew in a sharp breath, the boy in question had been sitting outside the hospital wing the entire time. This was his fault and he knew it. He was a wreck, but he still couldn’t bring himself to face her.
“He does. It was nasty, the fight he and Marlene had. She's been in Dumbledore's office since their blowout. He’s trying to decide what to do with her.” Remus’s soft voice carried through her brain.
“Did they break up?”
“Yes”“Does he finally realize what he did?”
“Yes.”
“Good.”
A beat of silence. Two beats…
“He’s outside,” James spoke.
“I want to see him.” She sat up with help from Lily who had a concerned look on her face at the decision her best friend just made.
James knew better than to question his sister, however, so he ushered the other two out of the room with him and went to get Sirius. They were still wary of the boy, but he poured his heart out to them, taking the blame for not stepping up, and admitting his wrongdoings. The trio knew it would take time, but they were willing to forgive him if she was.
As the nervous boy made his way into the room he could see her from the small opening in the curtains. Pushing them open his eyes were immediately drawn to the angry red scar on her face. He burst into tears immediately.
“Sirius, come here, please.” She held her arms out inviting him in.
“I'm so sorry,” He cried into her chest as she held him, “I was stupid, I was an absolute idiot. I never ever knew she would go this far. I never want to see you in pain again, and to know I helped cause it is eating me alive.” His body shook as he took short breaths trying to apologize but not being able to keep up with all the thoughts flooding his brain.
“Sirius, I know that wasn’t you. I don’t know who that was, but it certainly wasn’t my Sirius.” Tears escaped her eyes at the sounds of his cries and the meaning behind his words.
He apologized what felt like a million more times until his cries turned into soft breaths. She rubbed his back and stroked his hair, knowing that this was her Sirius. This was no longer a boy possessed by McKinnon or his own delusions. This was the gentle, kind, sometimes oblivious boy who she had loved for six years.
“I can’t promise that things will go back to normal immediately, but I forgive you. I know that in the end, her actions and her choices were her own. I know that you love me, and I know that you will do everything you can to show me that.” She removed her hands from his body.
Sirius sat up, he didn’t understand how someone could be so forgiving. So wonderful.
“I love you so much. I love your beautiful face. I love your kind heart. Why are you so willing to let me back into your life?”
“Because Sirius, I have never and will never see a future where I don’t end up with you. You’re a good person who got caught up with someone venomous. I don’t love you any less for that.”
He decided from that moment on to win back every ounce of her trust. No matter how long it takes.

SO uhm
Initially this was going to be a blurb. Then I got hooked on writing out the story and suddenly wanted to pull in a third party and the dialogue started doing whatever it wanted so uhm
Long story short I'm starting to remember why writing is so fun
“W-wait, Leon, c’mon, y-you’re not really mad, right?” Ethan stammered out, backing away from his admittedly much scarier boyfriend. He’d had the idea of spooking Leon with a quick tase to his sides, but had unfortunately forgotten to account for the cup of soda in his hands.
The soda that was now all over the front of Leon’s shirt.
“You made me make a mess of myself! And now…” Leon took a second to think, before a smirk crossed his face as he thought of a punishment that’s proven to work at least for a while at their house.
“Now I’m gonna turn you into a mess!”
Suddenly Ethan was on his back, squealing as Leon’s fingers dug into his sides, sending sparks of ticklish energy shooting through his body. Of course this was what he resorted to. Ethan should have known this was coming for a long time. In fact, he sort of got the feeling that Leon wasn’t just tickling him over the soda.
Or at least, he did until his brain was flooded with ‘ITTICKLESITTICKLESNOBADBUTYESGOOD??’ as Leon’s fingers climbed his ribs, his touch becoming lighter and lighter the higher he went, planning each move carefully, slowly turning Ethan’s brain to mush with a smirk.
“Leheheon plehehehease! Ihi’m sohohohorry!” he managed between laughs, squeaking and almost folding as he suddenly received a poke to his belly, which turned into Leon scribbling all over it, leaving his ribs tingling and the anticipation of Leon going after his worse spot left unchecked.
“Aww, you didn’t think I was gonna kill ya that fast did you? I said I was going to turn you into a mess, and I know how easily anticipation does that for you. You need your tickles to be quick and easy for you to keep any sort of brain function. And that usually leads to revenge. But if I’m gonna turn you into a mess the right way, I’m gonna need your brain to basically melt.”
“H-hohow do youhu knohohow ahall thihihis?!” Ethan questioned as Leon’s fingers began to drift to his sides again.
“Dude, please, we’ve been friends since high school. You think I wouldn’t have picked up on all this by now?” Leon answered, still smirking as though he felt like the smartest man in the world for figuring out what kind of tickles made his boyfriend tick. “But, do you wanna know something else?”
“Whahahahat?”
“A little birdie told me tickle games get to you really bad~”
I’m going to fucking kill Liv, Ethan thought, his giggles calming as Leon retracted his hands and began to think.
“What game should we play, Ethan? The claw game? Maybe we could play rib piano? Or arms up? I know how much you love that one~” Leon listed the games off, watching Ethan’s face get redder and redder as he mentioned each game. Still, Ethan could never resist the urge to be a little shit.
“Aha… ahas much as you love tummy raspberries?”
Apparently that was the wrong thing to say as he saw a blush cross Leon’s face before he narrowed his eyes and simply said “Arms up.”
“Ahaw shit…” Ethan mumbled as he slowly raised his arms, knowing he was in for it now. He squeaked softly as he felt Leon’s gentle fingers slowly touch down and begin to trace gentle patterns along his wrists, moving at an agonizingly slow pace down his forearms. Ethan fought a losing battle against a wobbly smile spreading like his own blush across his face, gripping onto a table leg that was just above him, causing it to scoot forward with a small, sudden scraping noise.
“Aww, what’s wrong? Can’t get through without something to help?” Leon cooed as he traced little swirls around Ethan’s inner elbows, watching in amusement as the goth struggled to hold back his giggles. “C’mon, Ethan, no cheating.~”
“Pff- i-it’s nohot- snrk- not cheating!” he squeaked out in response.
“Not not cheating? Wouldn’t that mean it is cheating? I dunno, double negatives are stupid… either way, it sounds to me like you are cheating! And you know what happens to cheaters, don’t you?~” he warned, his gentle fingers slowly traveling down Ethan’s arms and towards his underarms.
“N-nohoho, nonono, L-Leheon, wait!” he squeaked out before yelping as Leon suddenly moved to his sides, just above where his belt held his shirt tightly to his waist.
“God, dude, why do you wear these things so high? I can’t get to your hips like this!”
“Doho NOHOT tahake my behelts ohohoff!” Ethan warned with a light shove.
“I’m not, I’m not, but that can’t be comfortable, I’m just saying. They’re covering half of your sides! I might just have to tickle you again after you change out of this, just so I can do what I really wanted!”
“Gohod you’re soho mehehean!”
“Oh I’M mean? Mister Tickles Everyone Every Chance He Gets is calling ME mean? You could just admit you can’t handle the teasing, you don’t have to make shit up just to look big.”
“Nohow lohohook whoho’s beheing a hypohocrihihite!”
Leon didn’t say anything, but the look in his eyes told Ethan he’d sassed him for the last time. Before he knew it, there was suddenly an unbearably gentle tracing just between his ribs and underarms, making his arms snap down in response as an embarrassingly high squeal ripped from his throat, his giggles skipping straight to hysterics, filled with squeals and shrieks every couple of seconds as Leon went a little too fast for his brain to keep up with properly.
“Ohp, looks like you lost, guess I’ll just have to keep tickling here~” Leon purred, holding back an amused laugh as Ethan struggled to string sounds into words and words into sentences, knowing his brain was filled with nothing but fireworks of energy, listening to his boots stomping loudly onto the floor behind him. Something he failed to notice, much to Ethan’s embarrassment, was the sound of a door shutting behind him.
“What the hell is all the noise…?” he heard a tired voice, Liv’s, behind him and turned to look at her, not slowing his tickles in the slightest.
“I’m tickling Ethan to death,” he answered simply.
“Ah… What happened to your shirt?”
“This little fucker happened. Why did you think I was tickling him?”
“Because he makes you look like a big puppy almost daily?”
“... Listen, don’t make me come after you next!” he warned with a blush, prompting Liv to raise her hands in surrender.
“Ohokay, okay, whatever you say, big man.” She came over to the two and knelt down beside Ethan. “God, him being such a big, scary tickler all the time can make ya forget how cute of a lee he is. I mean, look at him, his face matches his shirt at this point! What have you been doing to the poor guy, Leon?”
“KIHIHIHILLING MEHEHEHEHE!!” Ethan somehow managed through his laughter, squealing as Leon softly drummed over his tiny death spot the best he could beneath his arms.
“Teaching him a lesson about being a brat and a hypocrite. Can you believe he had the audacity to call me mean AND try to tease his way out of this? He caused this himself,” Leon corrected. “Anyway, I think now he’s just mad he lost the Arms Up game so I’m just gonna keep doing this until he apologizes.”
“Ah, so that’s what woke me up…”
“Why were you asleep at 3:30 in the afternoon, ya weirdo?”
“Oh, fuck off, it’s not my fault Streber’s tummy is comfortable. I wanted to hang out, eventually we ended up snuggling, my head was on his tummy, and you know how fucken soft he is so you also probably know what came next.”
“Ah, yeah, I get it. Did he do that thing, too, where he like, messes with your hair?”
“He did, it was so nice! He said it helps him focus but I honestly just think he knows we like it at this point. Does he ever do that to you, Ethan?” She turned to the goth, who was still pinned under (and getting the absolute shit tickled out of him by) his boyfriend, who only responded by shakily flipping her off, still finding speaking difficult between his hysterics, prompting a quiet laugh from the redhead.
“You gonna let him up anytime soon? I think he’s dying,” she asked Leon, who rolled his eyes but let up anyway, stretching his arms as Ethan slowly calmed down.
“Yeahhh, I think he’s enough of a mess. Got anything smart to say now, Eth?”
“Aheheh… awashb… yuhu… grrehehe…” he mumbled out, not making one bit of sense to himself, much less either of them.
“Oho god you got him speaking a whole other language,” Liv giggled at Ethan’s state.
“Is that even a language? I don’t even understand what he’s trying to say!” Leon pointed out, scooping up the giggly goth in his arms.
“Gibberish is a language… sorta,” she tried to argue. “It’s sorta communication.”
Leon rolled his eyes as he chuckled softly.
“Well last time I checked, Ethan’s first language was English-”
“I thought it was Spanish?”
“No, no, he’s just really fluent in Spanish, that doesn’t make it his first language.”
“Ohhh, I always thought he spoke it so well because it was his first. I could never, honestly.”
“Yeah, I know, right? It’s actually really fucken impressive. Anyway, since English is his first language and he can’t even speak that properly, I think my work is almost done here.”
“Almost?”
“You think I’m just gonna tickle my boyfriend and not cuddle with him afterwards? Do I look like a monster to you?”
“Depends on the kinda monster. Tickle monster? Yeah, very much so, actually.”
“Pft- ok, fair. C’mon, the cuddle window is closing, and if he’s not in a fluff coma soon, he’s not gonna be the only one asked why he was being so loud. Wanna watch a movie?” he asked as he carried Ethan to the couch, followed closely by Liv, who nodded enthusiastically.
“Yeah yeah yeah! Let’s watch Pirates Of The Caribbean again!” she suggested, Leon rolling his eyes.
“You recommend that like, every time, why do I even ask anymore?” he teased, grabbing the remote and putting the movie on.
“The illusion of choice, my friend!”
Leon shook his head, chuckling quietly as he held Ethan close, the taller’s head resting on his shoulder, snuggled as close as he could be.In the few thoughts that were coherent in Ethan’s head, one of them was definitely, Worth it.

Another bit from Sally=Loki that might have to get the chop but I thought was too funny to not delete. Can you guess who Percy had just met? (It's Apollo, also to answer your earlier question Percy sounds more educated because 1) Loki is very educated and children learn to speak by mimicing parents so compared to Sally who is a high school dropout, nothing wrong with that, just Loki just has a broader vocabulary 2) Loki would accept nothing less then a fantastic education for his child so Percy does go to a good school and has Loki being very supportive at home, 3) Loki has a lot of run ins with the authorities and taught Percy specific phrases. After all mortal doctors could notice something was up with her if they looked so Percy was trained to deny care, if you asked her about some other topic she would not sound that good)
“Why have you returned?” Poseidon demanded “And where is your minder?”
Percy shrugged and replied, “Ares was trying to show me some statues and murals when a strange naked man appeared and started touching Ares all over the place and tried to chase me.”
Her uncle Zeus made a strange noise like a squeaky toy, he should probably see a doctor about that she thought. “Mom and my teachers and the school resource officers all said if I see a person not wearing all their clothes or exposing their privates I’m supposed to run away and find a trusted adult. Ares didn’t seem super available, and you were closest, and it is your day, but I guess I can go back to my grandpa’s house if you’re busy.”
For a moment everything was silent and then Uncle Hades suddenly lunged forward tackling her father who had started to rise back into his seat. “Oh my, that must have been very scary for you” replied her Uncle Hades voice rough and teeth gritted with exertion. Vaguely she could hear her father start to say something only to be quickly cut off by a hissed “Language!” from said Uncle.
Uncle Zeus laughed like someone who knew they were about to fail to negotiate their way out of being kneecapped by the mob and blabbered out, “You didn’t interrupt anything important, no siree, we were just finishing up, now if you will excuse me I just remembered I haven’t seen my children in an bit and must check in on them” all while he fled the room, carefully keeping the table between him and her father. Percy wondered why all the adults on this side of the family constantly acted like they were raised by baboons. With a sigh she turned back to her remaining “adults” and said “Public indecency is illegal, as is exposing yourself to a minor. I believe this is where you are supposed to call the authorities.”
Percy was very proud of herself for remembering all of that from the stranger danger talk at school (mom would have probably castrated the man rather than call the cops but as Percy had recently learned mom also had a history with the law here so she probably had to rely on her own conflict resolution skills… which would explain a lot actually. As the old man who ran the bodega had said, a criminal who calls the cops is a dead criminal). Admittedly she did not ever expect to need to need it as any adult who worked with children with any frequency at all seemed aware of this particular procedure, however she supposed she could give daddy a pass since he was one, very new to this and two, she was starting to doubt he or his siblings had been raised by sentient life at all. So, some ignorance was probably unavoidable on his part, she just hoped the rapid reddening of his face was not due to anger directed at her over being told what to do. Maybe he was embarrassed that he didn’t know already? Mom always said there was nothing embarrassing about learning. However, last time she corrected a boy in her class he cried, she hoped this was not another Joey Klingler situation because she really didn’t think she would be able to get daddy to stop yelling by distracting him by triple-dog-daring him to eat a fistful of sand.
i love how no matter the universe, percy's first interaction with ror!apollo always has to do with him being naked 💀
BUT I LOVE THIS!!! I hope you don't end up deleting it cuz it is a funny scene but if you do... i will treasure this post forever 😔😔😔

butterflies — part three.
pairing: rafe cameron x female reader
summary: after returning home from college for the summer, y/n runs into rafe cameron and the two form an unlikely relationship.
word count: 2043
a/n: little bit of a longer chapter, but i am having so much fun with this series! let me know what u think in the comments or my ask box :) masterlist.
Tumblr media
You couldn’t believe what you were looking at on your phone screen.
Incoming call… Dylan.
Was your ex seriously calling you now, two months after the breakup? Weeks after you had begun spending nearly every single day with Rafe Cameron?
“Y/N? What’s wrong?” Rafe asked, sensing the anxiety coming from your body.
You two were sitting in his car on a particularly hot day trying to cool down when the sound of your ringtone interrupted the comfortable silence.
“It- it’s Dylan,” you responded, voice shaking.
“Dylan? Like Dylan, Dylan? Dylan, your ex?”
“Yeah, yeah. Like my ex, Dylan. What do I do?”
“Don’t pick up. Nothing he says can be good.”
Even though you were the one to break up with him, you admittedly had moments where you found yourself close to pressing on his contact in your phone and apologizing. Part of you wanted to make amends, the other part of you was screaming to move on.
Rafe agreed with this other part of you. After you had told him specific details from your relationship and how he treated you, he wanted you far away from him.
You two continued to sit in silence as you stared at your phone and waited for it to go to voicemail.
“Do you think he’s leaving a message?” you asked.
“Who cares? Come on, let’s go get dinner somewhere.”
You hesitatingly agreed, but as you pulled into the drive-thru of a local burger joint, you couldn’t help but feel disappointed at the lack of a notification alerting you that Dylan had left you a voicemail.
I care, you thought. I care if he still cares about me. I loved him.
Rafe dropped you off at your house a little after 11 pm. You waved him off and started to head inside.
You walked upstairs to your bedroom, ready to take a shower and settle in for the night.
However, as you were about to turn on the water, the familiar sound of your ringtone broke the silence for the second time that day.
You looked down at your screen, heartbeat picking up at the words.
Incoming call… Dylan.
What do you do? Rafe had made it very clear he didn’t like the guy. But this guy was the same person you had spent the last year and a half with. Maybe he deserved some closure after you had left him so abruptly?
Suddenly, all of the bad things he had done to you were irrelevant. You couldn’t seem to remember why you were unhappy with him in the first place.
So, you told yourself it must have been muscle memory that you hit the accept button and pressed your phone to your ear, eager to hear a familiar voice.
“Y/N?” he said.
“Dylan?”
“I didn’t think you would pick up.”
“I didn’t think I would either. What’s going on?”
“I just… uhm.” You heard him cough on the other side. “I just wanted to see how you were doing, that's all.”
“Oh.” Rafe would kill me if he knew I was talking to you right now. “I’m alright, how’s your summer going?”
“Good, good. Pretty boring, actually.”
You sighed. He was never a good communicator. Rafe was always straight to the point. You liked that about him.
“Dylan, what do you want?”
“What, I can’t call my ex and ask her how she’s doing without having an ulterior motive?”
You could tell he said that as an attempt to lighten the mood, but you were in no such state to joke around with him.
“No, not really, considering we didn’t end on the best terms.”
He was silent for a moment.
“Okay, fine. I was thinking we should get back together— and before you interrupt me and say no, hear me out.”
“Dylan, are you serious right now?”
“I said, hear me out! You said you broke up with me because I was too attached to you, right? I was too codependent or something?”
When you didn’t respond right away, he continued.
“Well, I think I can be better now. Now that I’m back at home, I’m a different person. I think school was just making me stressed and I feel like I wasn’t in the right state of mind to be in a relationship.”
“What happens when we go back to school then? You’ll go back to your old ways?”
“No, Y/N. I know better now. Look, I’ve realized what I lost, okay? I’m not stupid, I know how lucky I was to have you. I know that I wasn’t the perfect boyfriend, but please, give me another chance. I promise I will be better.”
Again, you were silent.
“Y/N?” he said after a while. “You still there?”
“Yeah, yeah. I just… don’t know what to say. I mean, I broke up with you, why would you want to get back together? I thought you would hate me or something.”
“I could never hate you, love. You know that.”
Shit. That name always worked on you.
“Can you just give me some time to think about it?”
“Yes, yes of course,” he said, relief evident in his tone. “I love you, Y/N. You don’t have to say it back or anything, but I do. I always have.”
After you hung up, you allowed your body to crash onto your bed.
Oh my god, what am I doing? Am I seriously considering getting back together with my shitty ex-boyfriend? He can’t be serious about trying again?
On the other hand, you didn’t feel like there were many options for you. Clearly, your fling with Rafe was not going to end up in a committed relationship before the end of the summer. And back at school, well, you felt very insecure.
Dylan was your only chance at any sort of social life at Duke. Without him, you would probably be in your dorm room every night watching shitty romcoms and eating takeout. Being with Dylan made you feel special, he made you feel seen.
You remember how hard it was to make friends when you started college. How you found yourself struggling to keep up with frat parties and sorority recruitments, always feeling one step behind everyone else.
What would life be like when you got back to school in the fall? You were ashamed to realize that many of your friends were Dylan’s first, and none of them had hesitated to take his side in the breakup.
And he did say that he loved you. No one outside of your family had ever said that to you, let alone show you any form of affection. All throughout high school you watched as all of your friends began dating people, wondering where you went wrong. Were you not deserving of love as well?
Dylan was the first person to make you feel loved and supported.
Oh god, I fucked up, didn’t I? I ruined the one real thing I’ve ever known.
Hey, wanna hang out today?
You were typing a response to Rafe’s text when you heard the doorbell ring.
“Surprise!”
“Rafe? What are you doing? My birthday already passed!”
“Y/N, I know when your birthday is. Today is another special day, and I’m surprised you don’t know it.”
You racked your brain for all the possibilities: birthdays, anniversaries, holidays…
“Oh god, it isn’t your birthday, is it?”
“No, it is not. But that makes me sad you don’t know my birthday.”
“Rafe, please just tell me what day it is.”
“Why, Y/N, it is July 17th. It has been exactly three months since you broke up with that pathetic excuse of a man.”
“Oh, oh wow.”
“I know, right? Time moves fast when you’re single and thriving! Look, I even got you a little cake.”
He presented you with a mini cake decorated with yellow flowers that read Congratulations! in blue icing.
“I couldn’t find one that said ‘Congratulations on being single!’ at the grocery store so I settled on this one. They really need to start expanding their selection,” he said.
“Rafe, I don’t even know what to say.”
If not for last night, you would have been swooning over this gesture. It was quite literally one of the sweetest things anyone has ever done for you.
However, last night did happen and you felt awful. Here was wonderful and caring Rafe Cameron at your doorstep presenting you with a cake for breaking up with your shitty ex, and now you had to tell him you had decided to get back together with said shitty ex.
“Y/N? What’s wrong?”
Rafe was always so good at sensing when you’re off. You hated that about him. Dylan could never read your feelings, and maybe it was because you didn’t want him to.
“I’m sorry, is this too much? Am I overstepping? I thought it would be a fun little thing to do, but—” Rafe was beginning another one of his apology spirals and you weren’t going to let him continue.
“No, please. This is amazing of you and I genuinely appreciate it so much. I appreciate you, so much. I’m so grateful for our friendship…”
“But?” Again, he could tell that something was wrong.
“But, I’ve decided that I’m going to get back together with Dylan.”
Now, he was speechless.
You continued, “He called again last night. We talked, and he said that he’s going to try and be a better boyfriend. He’s had some time to reflect this summer, and he really loves me, and I don’t know I…”
Now it was Rafe’s turn to interrupt you.
“You really believe that?”
“What?”
“You really believe that he’s going to be better? That he’s going to be any different from how he was to you last year?”
Rafe Cameron, always straight to the point.
The thing about being straight to the point is that it sometimes feels like a shot to the heart.
“I’m not naive. Or stupid,” you said, anger growing in your voice. “Yes, I really do believe him. Because I know him, and I know he loves me and I’m sorry if that’s so hard for you to believe, that I can be loved, but it’s true!”
“Y/N- that is not what I was implying at all.”
“Then what were you implying?”
“I just mean,” he sighed. “I know guys like Dylan. They don’t change, ever. They talk a lot of shit but their actions stay the same. You deserve someone so much better.”
You scoffed, “Don’t you see? There is no one better! No one else is going to want me or love me the way he does! Before him, no one ever looked at me! I was invisible!”
Rafe’s face was beginning to break. His facade was cracking.
“You call how he treated you love? Y/N, he wouldn’t let you go anywhere without him! He pushed you away from all your friends and family, and now, now he’s manipulating you into getting back together with him!”
Tears were beginning to stream down your face now, but you didn’t care. You never wanted to see Rafe again. He made you feel like a little girl again, someone who couldn’t make her own decisions or take care of herself. He had diminished your feelings and cast them aside, for what? Because he didn’t like Dylan?
Well, he didn’t know Dylan like you did.
“Can you please just leave?” you finally asked.
Rafe Cameron always knew when to stop pushing. “Y/N, I just want you to take some time to think about this. Text or call me tonight, okay?”
You nodded silently, having already made up your mind.
Surely, they are just friends. Rafe would never do anything to jeopardize his relationship with Y/N. She has come to mean the world to him, and losing her would be like trying to breathe without air.
As he walked off from her house that morning, frustrated at himself and at the world, he thought I care, I care about you so much, I might even care about you more than you care about me.
Then, I wish I could tell you.

tw: none ig? swearing, drinking mentions, kind of cheesy (i'm so in love with this man okay???), fluff
description: who knew making the wrong turn in search for your best friend's house would lead to this?
Tumblr media
Y/N: Oh ok hi? Is this thing on? Wow alrighty then soooo where would you like me to start?
Interviewer: How about when you first met The Six?
Y/N: So you don’t want to know anything about my early life. Well now I’m offended. *You send a teasing smile at the camera before taking a sip of some coke at your side.* Right it was a really hot night, something you come to expect when living in California…
Carefully adjusting your tank top and wiping some sweat off your neck you rang the doorbell at what was meant to be your best friend’s new house. For some reason she had decided that moving to Laurel Canyon was going to help with the writing of her novel and you fully supported her… which is why you brought along enough champagne to fill a small pond to her housewarming party.
You could vividly remember the phone call from just this morning, her voice distorted by the receiver basically begging you to come.
“Please! I’ll even set you up with one of the guys from my yoga class.”
“You do know that’s going to turn me off going even more.”
“Come onnn. I’m sure you will meet some hot literature professor or something, just please promise me that you’ll come.”
“Okay fine fine! I give up, see you at 6.”
After no answer you huffed and then proceeded to lean on the doorbell until suddenly angry shouting was heard over by the garage area. Furrowing your eyebrows you peaked over the side of the house only to see an admittedly really attractive curly haired man walking towards you with an annoyed look on his face. Since when did Bev have hot friends? Other than you of course.
“Can I help you?”
Warren: This random chick showed up at our porch during one of our practice sessions and holy shit she was the most beautiful woman I have ever seen.
“Yeah uh hi. I’m looking for Beverly.”
“Beverly?”
“Yeah Beverly Stewart? This is her housewarming party…”.
When the guy’s face continued to hold a mask of complete confusion you were absolutely certain you had made a mistake. It wasn’t your fault though the roads all basically looked the same.
“Oh yeah I think you’ve got the wrong house.”
“Great! Ok sorry for interrupting whatever you guys were doing. I’ll be off then.”
The guy’s face had morphed from being confused to smiling over the course of the conversation and god he had a really pretty smile. You felt your whole body start to heat up, which only seemed to add to the embarrassment you were already feeling.
“Wait! Do you know the house number or name? I’m actually just finishing up practice so I could help you find it.”
“You really don’t have to do that.”
“No, no I insist. When a beautiful lady is in distress I’m obliged to help.” That comment would usually have you scoffing but he said with such an annoying degree of charm it almost infuriated you.
“Ok if you’re sure I’m not interrupting anything.”
“Not at all, I’ll just head inside to let the rest of the band know I’ll be back in a bit.”
“Band?”
“Yeah I’m part of The Six.”
“Oh I’ve seen your flyers around town, I meant to check you guys soon.”
“Well darling you can check me out anytime.”
The man gave you a teasing smile as you rolled your eyes before quickly popping back into the garage and coming back out basically a second later. The entire time you were just mentally thanking Bev for making her come to her housewarming party.
Y/N: So yeah I met Warren first and I kind of became their unofficial then official roadie. And I loved it, even if I didn’t desperately need a job I would have quit any other job in a heartbeat for the band.
Rod Reyes: Y/N was a fast learner, she was better at managing the whole on the road situation in the first week than some of the guys I kept under employment.
Y/N: I warmed to the band quickly but ever since that first meeting Warren and I just sort of gravitated towards each other.
You were crouching next to the drum set, taking your time to make sure it was all being carefully put away. In your intense focus you barely realized when a large hand carefully landed on your shoulder. You shot up like someone possessed and nearly tripped over the drum kit if it wasn’t for a pair of hands catching you by the shoulders.
“Christ Y/N are you okay?” You twirled around to face the drummer whose face was covered in a concerned expression as his hands fell away from your shoulders.
“Fucking hell Warren. You nearly gave me a heart attack.” You playfully punched him in the arm after getting over the fright of your life. “I thought everyone left already.”
“Yeah well I wasn’t really in the mood for a party tonight.”
“You? Not in the mood for a party? Warren, is that really you or have the aliens swapped your body somehow?” You smiled, slightly mockingly, as you started poking his cheek.
“Haha, very funny. I just wanted to see what my favorite girl was up to okay? Is there something wrong with that?”
A string in your heart twinged at the words “my favorite girl” and you could feel your face lighting up in a smile, which Warren quickly returned - easily making you lose your breath again.
“Nothing wrong with that at all.”
That was when you saw something change in his eyes. Like a little spark was ignited and he came to some sort of realization. You felt as if you were the only two people in the world, almost like a spotlight was thrown on the two of you leaving the rest of the stage dark. Warren trailed his knuckles down the side of your cheek, outlining your cheekbone and then your chin before coming to rest on your jaw.
“Would you hit me if I kissed you right now?”
“I’ll hit you if you don’t.”
Warren’s face lit up and he cradled your face as you both started to lean into each other. When your lips met his it was like millions of comets crossed the sky in that very moment. Your body surged with energy and love as you tossed your arms around his neck to deepen the kiss.
“Hey! Y/N do you have the kit ready for me?” You quickly disconnected your lips from Warren’s and swiveled around to face a smirking Rod.
“Uhh not yet.”
“Well maybe Warren can help you with it, he is the drummer after all.” Rod sent you a wink before disappearing backstage.
“Now where were we, sweetheart?” Warren asked as he looked at you with a teasing smirk, but his true feelings were given away by his eyes. They twinkled with adoration and an emotion you were certain was also visible in your eyes, love.
“I think we were right around here.”
Y/N: So yeah I ended up finding not only my career but also the love of my life. *Your head turns to look off camera and a blinding smile fills the frame as you look at your husband.*
Y/N Rhodes is one of the most sought out for tour managers in the business today. She currently lives in LA with her husband, Warren Rhodes (former drummer for Daisy Jones & The Six) and their daughters Sophie and Laura alongside their many dogs. She will be co-managing the tour for the newly reunited Daisy Jones & The Six with Rod Reyes.

Smooth Talkin', So Rockin' - Snippet
Tumblr media
I wanted to share a little bit of what I've been working on since February. This is a small part of my fic for the Steddie Big Bang event (@steddiebang ). Huge thanks to them for running this event, or I wouldn't have tackled just a large project.
In this fic, Steve is just Steve Harrington by day, but by night, he's performing in sold-out stadiums as iconic popstar Zayne Maine. Eddie Munson is an up-and-coming rock star hell-bent on proving Zayne's not all he's cracked up to be.
--
“When are you going to admit Zayne’s a good person and a good singer? Clearly, you think so, otherwise, you wouldn’t be here," Chrissy asked.
“When he admits he had no good reason to cover our song,” Eddie responded quickly, still not sure if he even believes it anymore, “and when he stops being so popular, Jesus Christ.”
“You’re unbearable and I can’t wait to see your face when he proves you wrong live.”
“We’ll see about that,” Eddie spoke, glancing around for anyone he could use to prove his point. Most people were busy by now, rushing to accomplish every last-minute task before the start of the show. The openers were on, leaving only a precious few minutes to get everything set up.
There was one person, though, standing off to the side like he meant to disappear in the crowd.
He wore all black like many of the crew did, though instead of working like the rest of them he was leaning against a wall sipping on a bottle of water. An intern, maybe? Well, Eddie wasn’t above bothering the interns if it meant proving himself right.
“Hey!” Eddie called, waving the unknown man over. The man looked shocked, pulling an earbud out and pointing to himself like this was the first time someone purposefully noticed him. “C’mere, I have a question.”
The man listened, and walked over close enough that Eddie could get a better look at him. He was, admittedly, gorgeous in the kind of way that only normal people got to be. He was unassuming in his comfort clothes, with the kind of flowing hair that would normally have Eddie swooning and bright, brown eyes that were earnest in their focus. “Eddie Munson and Chrissy Cunningham, right? What can I, uh, do for you?”
“I’m so glad you asked,” Eddie said with a Cheshire grin, ignoring Chrissy’s eye roll. “You see, Chrissy and I were having a debate amongst geniuses, and we need you to be our tiebreaker.”
“Oh, oh I don’t think I’m your guy. I can go get—” He looked a little like a deer caught in headlights, doe-eyes wide as they flicked between Eddie and Chrissy. It was charming, the way he seemed so shocked that Eddie was talking to him now.
“On the contrary...what’s your name, man?”
“Steve. Steve Harrington.”
Steve Harrington. Delightfully plain, with no obvious connections to anyone in the industry. This might be the first person Eddie could talk to in L.A. with zero strings attached, no expectations or cameras watching them.
“Well, Harrington, I need someone on my side. Think you can do that?”
“Depends,” Steve answered, smoothly dodging the arm Eddie went to sling around his shoulders. He raised his eyebrows, arms crossed almost like he was trying to size up Eddie. It was an attitude that not many people took with him anymore, either because they were too starstruck or too terrified of him. “Think you can be a little less cryptic?”
“That might be kinda hard, I am known as the Cryptid of Hawkins.”
Steve’s laugh was like the bells of Notre Dame—bright, music-like, and commanding in a way that had Eddie clinging to the sound for more.
“You’re not called that,” Steve returned, completely focused on the conversation despite the growing commotion around them.
“Oh, so you’ve heard of me.”
“I have,” Steve said, “It’s hard not to, you’re kinda popular.”
“Say that to the Midwestern moms who form protests outside our concerts,” Eddie laughed, remembering all of the angry signs that rivaled all the good ones at his last show in Indianapolis.
“Hey, bad press is still press,” Steve answered, shrugging once like the concept didn’t bother him much. In general, nothing seemed to phase him despite talking to a not unfamous musician while backstage at one of the biggest concerts of the year. Who was this guy? “So what was it you needed?”
“Oh, right! What d’you think of Zayne Maine? It’s a safe space, I promise I won’t tell,” Eddie asked with a light teasing tone in his voice.
Surprise took over Steve’s expression then, coming in a slow wave as he clearly tried to comprehend the question. Then he laughed, a nervous thing that ended with Steve’s hand running through his beach waves. Right when Eddie was about to ask what was so funny, Steve asked, “You really wanna know what I think of Zayne Maine?”
“Only honest opinions will be accepted,” Eddie answered, “Chrissy over there seems to think he deserves all this hype.”
By the time Steve opened his mouth to respond, the commotion backstage finally caught his attention. Steve turned his head as someone asked where Zayne had gone, his cheeks flushing pink as he watched the crew search for the missing popstar.
“I think that’s my cue,” Steve sighed, beginning to step back from Eddie, “I should go find him.”
“Are you his PA?” Eddie asked then, feeling his heart begin to race. Did he really just ask Zayne Maine’s personal assistant if he thought the man was an asshole? No wonder he wanted to get away from Eddie so soon! The first time Eddie met someone gorgeous, funny, and completely out of the celebrity circle he goes and has to ruin it. Screw Zayne Maine for making him trash talk the guy’s boss.
“Something like that,” Steve answered, shaking his head and beginning to walk backward, somehow managing to stay out of everyone else’s path like he already knew where they'd be. If Eddie were to have tried something smooth like that, he would’ve fallen flat on his face in seconds. “Come find me after the show, I’ll give you my answer then, Eddie.”

i couldnt get anything really accomplished for this weeks prompt (clothes sharing, “i know what that smile means”, fav relationship other than hawktim) so instead im just posting all the snippets i started and didnt finish and will probably never finish <3
made for the ft valentines week by @fellow-travelers-events
It was not often that Marcus and Tim would have a night out with just the two of them. They were individuals as such that their circumstances did not usually permit those outings; Marcus was known to spend most of his time with Frankie at the club, and Tim was practically Hawkins’ shadow whenever he was let off the leash.
Marcus did not think it was his place to tell Hawk how to go about his affairs, but when he found Tim by himself one night at the Cozy Corner, he decided it was his duty to let him know what it meant to get involved with Hawkins.
Tim was sat at the bar, head propped up by one hand with the other lazily drawing patterns in the condensation on his glass. Marcus noticed the drink was half empty.
“Mind if I sit?” Marcus asked as he walked beside Tim.
After a fleeting look, Tim relaxed and allowed his shoulders to slump back down. “Yea, sure.” After a moment, his gaze did a double take. “Marcus?”
“Hey Tim, didn’t expect to see you here by yourself.” Marcus waved down a not-Frankie bartender and ordered his usual.
“I needed some space,” Tim replied sourly.
“Not a lot of people would think of a bar as a place to go for space.”
“It was either this or church.”
Marcus chuckled softly. He enjoyed Tim’s company and was fond of his wide eye naïveté, it made him a refreshing conversation partner as opposed to the seasoned politicians he was used to.
Tim’s fingers stopped and he let out a sigh not unlike an old but loyal dog. “He hasn’t called me and I’m not sure what to do.”
“Did you hope you’d catch him here?” Marcus asked.
“Not hoped…” Tim said. “More like dreaded.”
———
It was Mary who was the first to notice.
Hawk should have known better than to think he could extract himself from Tim’s arms at a normal time this morning. Seeing his Skippy sick as a dog and moping around the apartment left him feeling more clingy; he even told Tim to forget trying to survive in his dingy little place and to start healing at his place instead. Tim’s eyes had widened and his jaw dropped a bit, and Hawk could get used to a sight like that.
The fact that Hawk was getting this much enjoyment out of Tim’s sickness should have felt wrong, but he couldn’t deny the joy of having Tim near. Hawk made him dinners and got him medicine, he got to bundle Tim in his arms while in bed and fall asleep intertwined like vines. It felt right, sharing his space with Tim.
Unfortunately, when spaces mix, however, things tended to get confused in the shuffle. Case in point: Hawk was wearing Tim’s hat.
They had very similar hats, admittedly. Almost every man worth anything in DC had a wide brimmed hat in their closet almost assuredly bought from the same store. Men’s fashion among his peers, Hawk felt, could stand a refresh.
But the fact of the matter was that Hawk walked into his office wearing Tim’s hat on his head, and Mary was the first one to notice. Or atleast, the first one brave enough to mention it directly.
“Good morning Miss Johnson, Miss Addison,” Hawk said upon opening the door.
“Good morning Mr. Fuller,” Miss Addison chirped. “I had your mail placed on your desk for you to look through.”
Hawk gave her a fleeting smile and shifted his gaze to Mary, who was not looking him in the eye. “Miss Johnson?”
Her gaze snapped to his. “Yes sir, Mr. Fuller. I just remembered I had a question about your 3 pm meeting.” She gestured to his office, and Hawk held the door open for her to enter first. Following behind, he closed the door on Miss Addison’s jealous expression, mouth pinched in displeasure.
“Are you okay?” Hawk asked her as he began to take his coat off.
“You’re wearing Tim’s hat,” she replied.
It made him stop. Mary’s eyes were wide and filled with an emotion Hawk could not recognize, one that he was unused to seeing on her face.
Slowly, Hawk took the hat off from the top of his head and felt the brim, noticing the subtle shade difference. It was absolutely not a hat Hawk owned; the crudely scribbled “TL” on the inside was proof enough.
Hawk gently turned the hat around in his hands. This morning he had been in such a rush to get to work that he stumbled through the morning routine. Haphazardly, Hawk had grabbed his things and the idea that his fingers felt right in taking Tim’s hat, as though it was interchangeable with his own, gave him pause.
“I know what that smile means.”
He looked up to Mary’s gentle face. He hadn’t even been aware he had been smiling. “The one that means that this color doesn’t go with my tie?”
“The one that tells me where he is right now, who’s sheets he is currently warming.”
“A bit presumptuous, don’t you think?”
She arched her eyebrow. “The clock reads 8:09 to you too, right?”
“It’s just a hat, Mary.”
“No,” she said. “It’s not. And you know it.”

Marcus was tired of hospitals.
It was a sunny day when Marcus stepped through sliding doors and into the familiar corridors. It was early in the morning and even though he had class to teach later, Marcus made sure to carve out time in his day to visit friends.
After years of watching peers fall ill, if he never had to step foot in front of a receptionist office to sign a form requesting visitation access, it would be too soon. The day the nurse greeted him by name felt like an inevitable failure of some sort; helpless in the face of tragedy, no matter how many articles he published.
Frankie told him to keep the word going, to not let the death toll make his efforts feel useless. Their time together had allowed Marcus to grow softer around the edges, no longer ready to bolt. Frankie made him want to settle, to stay. He felt kept.
As Marcus cuddled him in the nights and held him close to his chest, he counted the breaths until he convinced himself Frankie was safe. He didn’t need to write novels about how paralyzing it was to think about one day losing Frankie, he didn’t need any words at all. As the days went on, Marcus found himself with more and more words to speak, a thought in his head he had to dispel. Too many years passed where he bit his tongue and now they were crawling back up his throat.
When Marcus got the news about Tim, he and Frankie ate dinner silently, once again not needing words.
Because it hurt more than anything. Over the years, he and Frankie had gotten to know much more about Tim other than his previous political endeavors and their shared history with Hawkins. There was a spitfire beneath his tender heart, righteous fury at injustice that made him close friends with Frankie. He was invited to dinner frequently and was unofficially given the title of godfather to Jerome, Tim felt more like family than his own father.
Tim was a good person, even when the world had not been kind to him. It made the news of the diagnosis hit that much harder.
“Tim called,” Frankie had said once Marcus walked through the door and hung his hat up. One look at his face and that was all that was needed.
Watching Tim slowly get worse and worse was utter agony because Tim was never one to take things lying down. He did his work from a hospital bed even when Frankie had to rip a pen from his cold hands.
“Come on, it will only take a second-“
“Tim, it's never just a second with you.”
“This is my job, I can’t just not work!”
“I’ll call the office and request a sick day for you.”
It was a sunny day when Marcus walked down the halls before work. It had been a few days since Hawk had called and showed up in San Francisco. No one expected him to stay and they certainly did not expect him to take on the caretaking role.
Marcus had known Hawk too long to be subjective about him. Hawk was selfish and a liar, he made a mess out of nice things to sate his own appetite. He saw right through his attempts at deception.
This meant that Marcus knew Hawk loved Tim before even Hawk was aware. The polygraph may have sealed the deal, but the looks he gave to Tim when he wasn’t looking were not exactly subtle.

🥺🥺🥺 Of course, Anon. Oh gosh, the big lug would be so worried about you too. Okay, okay, I got you. Daruk taking care of sick reader (and getting some help from his friends along the way!):
A large hand descended gently on your forehead. He always ran warm, but the way you shivered and shook under those pelts he thought was normally reserved for cold weather responses - and yet here you were, burning up even on his skin. Daruk's long, white eyebrows turned up in concern. His biology being so different from yours, he didn't understand what exactly what was wrong at first. Thankfully some travelling Hylians managed to clarify once Daruk explained to them how you were feeling. You were dealing with a really bad cold - which would make sense to you having just come from the Hebra mountainside two days ago and running out of spicy elixirs about halfway through your trip. The temperature swap from bone-chilling cold to sweltering heat within that timeframe had caused you to get pretty sick. So much so that you were reduced to a weak mess, groaning from the febrile chills and body aches that plagued you. A message had been sent out to Princess Mipha, directly from Daruk, asking for a healing potion that would hopefully fix you right up; having seen her heal people constantly, Daruk figured she was the best person to ask. Upon feeling his hand on your forehead, you stirred at the contact, a pained wince escaping you. Daruk didn't mean to wake you, but seeing as you were now, he carefully rummaged through your pack. Pouring some water into a small bowl, he kneeled next to you, "Up you go, sweetheart," as his hand came behind your head to prop you up. Your whole body felt akin to lead and ice, but you did your best to lift your head regardless. Daruk touched the bowl to your lips, gently leaning it back as you drank. When you'd had enough, you settled back under the pelts, shivers wracking your entire body in horrid waves. The Goron champion made his way to your kitchen, pulling a rag from your pack on the way; he doused it with water, remembering the words of those Hylian travelers who explicitly mentioned that cool cloths would help bring your temperature down. Before long you felt the touch of a cool, damp cloth lay across your forehead. An involuntary whine escaped you, "Shhh, I know, I know, I'm sorry," Daruk cooed, gingerly dragging his thumb down to carefully caress your warmed cheek. The soft strokes on your skin were comforting, and even though you couldn't see him because your eyes refused to open, you knew his touch meant 'I'm here'. The stoney stalwart was admittedly terrified to see you in a such a state. Gorons weren't prone to getting sick like this, and with his knowledge being next to nothing on Hylian illness, he felt almost helpless. Knowing what he does now, he was determined to stay by your side until you were completely better. He'd learned to make some porridges as an easy meal to help you build your strength back up. At one point he'd heard your weakened voice call for him, "Daruk..." you croaked through your shivering, eyes barely half open. His worried expression carried over in his voice, "What's wrong? Are you in pain?" Try as you might, you couldn't find the words to ask him what it was you wanted, so instead you used the very little strength you had to push yourself into his arms - which in actuality ended up with you barely being able to drape your arms over his crossed legs. However, Daruk had caught onto what you wanted, picking you up as gently as he could, and holding your tired frame close in his arms. You snuggled into his chest, relishing the heat his body gave off. He pressed his lips to your temple, frowning at how warm your body still was - but he understood that what you wanted was comfort. Daruk held you that way for a while, rubbing your back as you shook in his hold and kissing away any of your pained whines and moans. When he finally got you back to your bed so you could rest some more, he'd heard a gentle knock at the door. The airy woosh of wings sounded outside of your bedroom before Daruk had finally made his way to answer the commotion. A blue scarf, much like his own, had caught Daruk’s eye. "I assume this little bottle isn't for you, is it?" came the smooth voice of Revali, his Rito champion companion. "’Fraid not," answered Daruk, who quickly looked back at your bedroom door, just as you groaned from your aching. Revali held out his wing, “You’re lucky, I happened to be at Zora’s Domain picking up some fish - Mipha had asked me to drop this off,” he dropped the bottle into Daruk’s hand, “She said to add some of the hot spring water you have here in the mountains.” Daruk slowly curled his fist around the glass, a grateful smile gracing his face, the spring water would be perfect to help you feel better, that he was sure of!  Turning on his talons, Revali gave a short ‘hmph’, “Normally I wouldn’t waste my time to go out of my way to Eldin,” he turned halfway toward his comrade, a small smile barely peeking through his beak, “...But I suppose it’s different when it’s your friends that are in need.”  His Goron cohort chuckled, “Yer alright, Revali,” Daruk swiped at his nose, “And ya have my thanks.” Wordlessly the Rito champion took off with Daruk shortly making his way to the nearest hot spring to gather a bit of it into the bottle and shake up the concoction. It turned an earthy red, a familiar color he’d seen on the battlefield before when training with his fellow champions not too long ago. He wasted no time waking you once more to sip the potion, your face screwing up in disgust from the aftertaste. But as soon as you did, you felt your shivering start to diminish, the pelts covering you comfortably now instead of barely keeping in the warmth you constantly sought.  Large fingers held to your forehead once more, a rumbly sigh of solace sounding just above you. Your eyes fluttered open, “Daruk...?”  His smile was warm, dark blue eyes filled with relief and contentment. A hand cradled your back as he helped you sit upright, “Ya almost had me in a panic there, sweetheart...never seen ya that sick before.” You eased yourself into his big arms, “I’m sorry, hunny, I didn’t mean to make you worry so much.”  Kisses were pressed into your cheek and forehead as he held you tight against him, “I’m just glad you’re feelin’ better.” It was your turn to give him a kiss, though yours was one of gratitude.  “Knowing I’ve got the great Daruk to take care of me, I was bound to be better in no time.” Daruk couldn’t stop the wide grin that stretched across his face, happy as ever to see you feeling like yourself already. He’d have to remember to thank his friends for the timely assistance.

Could I request an Lockwood x reader where they are often asked if they’re dating but they both deny it and in the end they confess to each other? Thanks so much :)

WISH UPON A STAR
It all started when someone in the cafe asked that one question. “Are you two dating?” I almost dropped my spoon on the table, currently being used to stir my coffee, turning to the couple in the booth opposite. “S-Sorry? I didn’t quite catch that.” I stammered, my hand reaching up to fix my round, rose gold glasses. “Are you dating? I’m sorry if I startled you, but you two just look so cute together and I just had to ask.” I was at a loss for words for a moment, but luckily for me Lockwood answered my question, saving me. “Unfortunately not, madam, but I appreciate the compliment.” He flashed his gigawatt grin, smoothing down his shirt. I recovered from the momentary shock, sipping my coffee to dissipate the tension, recovering quickly. “Turning on the old charm, aren’t you?” I scoffed, tucking my strawberry blonde hair behind my ear. “Well, yes, in order to get a stranger to like you, you need to be charismatic, charming. Have you not learned that already?” “I’ve learnt that every stranger we meet turns out to think you’re a selfish jerk.” “Words hurt.” “Exactly.” Later, Lockwood was sitting with George in the kitchen, explaining everything. “They asked us if we were dating, hilarious, right?” He chuckled, pretending like he was wiping a tear from his eye. “What’s hilarious is that you two aren’t dating yet.” George muttered under his breath before speaking up, “Yeah, hilarious.” “Austin and I can never be a couple. We’re too… different.” “As in?” “We’ve two different ways of thinking.” “What you mean is that you pick the reckless way out and she picks the smart way out.” “Exactly. Two different ways of thinking,” They blinked at each other, George much more exasperated than Lockwood, who just appeared to be calm. …………………………………………………………………………………………………………… “So, after that, a couple next to us asked if we were dating.” “Well, are you?” Lucy asked, lying on her bed and reading while I stress-organised the makeup on our vanity, putting them according to colour. “No!” I cried, waving an eyeliner pencil in the air. “Lockwood’s a tad too reckless for me. He always has been.” “He got a lot less reckless when he met you. And you got a lot more reckless when you met him.” Lucy and I had been friends since we were small. We made a pact with Norrie to go to London, but when that backfired Lucy ran away, and when Jacob’s shut down I went after her, so we ended up here. “What do you mean ‘a lot more reckless’?” I interrogated, now waving a bottle of mascara around like a Harry Potter wand. “Remember when we had that case where you and Lockwood were trapped on the roof with a vicious Type 2?” “‘Course I remember that one, we almost died.” “Again.” We both chorused, counting the many times our lives were at stake. “But it was your idea to jump off the roof, onto the trampoline and land in the pool rather than the safer option: face it head on and wait for me and George to get up there.” “Admittedly, it wasn’t that safe to wait-” “But a million things could’ve gone wrong. Yet you did it anyway.” …………………………………………………………………………………………………………… “Lockwood, where’s my cover?” I yelled, chucking a flare nimbly at the oncoming Type 2, an angered victim of a house burglary gone wrong. I drew my rapier, holding it front of me. Admittedly, my rapier was my best tool, since I’d gained my grade 4 very quickly and now could even match and beat the likes of Kipps and Lockwood in a duel. Lockwood claimed that Kipps was a pushover, but if someone beat him at a duel? They deserve a medal. “Right here, Austin!” Speak of the devil. He ran forward, swinging the chain and lashing it forward. “Found the source. Every photo in this house has just one thing in common. Sophia Wallis wears a necklace in them, the same one each time. George messaged me saying that she was strangled to death with it.” “Real nice manner of death, don’t you think?” I said sarcastically, lunging forward and catching “It’s fascinating!” “Do you even have human emotions?!” I snapped. There’s a Type 2, Austin, focus. “Plan D.” “No way. Plan E.”
“Plan G.” “What’s G? We didn’t make a G. Did I authorise this?” “Of course you didn’t. Distract the ghost and run. We stand a better chance together than apart.” “Sound good.” We threw a flare at the same time, meeting our target and running as Sophia screamed, the sound grating my ears as we reached the bedroom, searching everywhere. “Nothing in the drawers.” I informed before moving onto the cupboard. “Nothing on the floor.” Sophia appeared again, and the sound of my rapier being drawn alerted Lockwood, who drew his. “Plan E!” He yelled, and in the heat of the moment I complied, performing an aerial to dodge the flying flare, feeling the object pass between my shins. I started searching, tearing apart the bedsheets until I found the source: the necklace, buried under the mattress. A splash of blood had rusted the metal, but the crystal still glowed brightly. I immediately grabbed the net hanging from my utility belt, throwing it over the source just as Lockwood was knocked back, hitting the wall and falling unconscious. “Lockwood!” I gasped, instinctively moving to check his heartbeat. It was slower than normal, but fast enough to tell me he was alive. I saw his chest rising and falling in an even frequency, but there was blood running down the side of his face from a small cut he’d gained. I tore a chunk off a spare bedsheet, pressing it to the cut and calling Lucy and George, who responded immediately. ……………………………………………………………………………………………………………
DEPRAC arrived on the scene a few minutes later, immediately taking the unconscious Lockwood on a stretcher and binding his head up. “This could mean a minor concussion, but you and your friends can look after him.” The medic nodded. “We’ll take him home.” “You can watch over him, Austin.” Lucy patted me on the back, not knowing what much else to do. “George and I will prepare some tea for you at Portland Row.” “We will?” George was met with a slap on the head by Lucy, who looked at him with a ‘don’t you dare argue’ face. “Thanks guys.” I smiled, climbing into the ambulance. I immediately was met with the familiar feeling of worry, gripping me as I held Lockwood’s hand, his familiar warmth trying to soothe me. He still had that small smirk like he always did upturning the corner of his mouth. I guess it was his special feature. Apart from his dangerous best plans. “Are you two dating?” The nurse asked quietly, as to not startle me. This time I wasn’t too lost for words, answering almost immediately and surprising myself. “No, but I wish we were.” I took a moment to realise what I just said, “But we can’t. Just as colleagues, this happens. What will happen if we get together?” “I think you should take a risk.” She replied matter-of-factly. I took a moment to think, until it hit me. I just got given love advice by a DEPRAC medic. …………………………………………………………………………………………………………… “Locky. Oi, Locky.” Lockwood woke up to the sweet sound of Flo Bones waking him up, sitting like a queen on the armchair while he was flopped on the chaise lounge. “Flo?” He called groggily, moving to prop himself up. “What’re you doing here?” “Here to see Austy. She’s in a right state, so you can tell me what happened in that there case.” She raised an eyebrow, waiting. “I was hit by a flying piece of wood. The ghost had telekinetic powers somehow, and I was caught in the crossfire.” He explained, hoping Flo wouldn’t ask more. “I may not have gone to no school, but I’m not thick. There’s more, isn’t there?” She gestured for him to continue. “The wood was aimed at Austin. I had to jump in the way or she’d have gotten seriously hurt.” “Are you two datin’?” “No!” He refused sharply, but then deflated. “But I wish we were. However, we work together. It’s best if we keep the line between work and personal where it is.” “That’s something about you that you need to change, Locky.” Flo tutted. “You’re one of my best mates, but you don’t know when to stop being like that closed door on the landing.” “I agree.” George sighed, entering. “Hey, Flo.” “Georgie. You look taller.” Flo briefly acknowledged. “Probably cause I’m sittin’ down here.” “Probably. I had to lift the biscuit rule and use many sugar cubes and coffee sachets to calm Austin down.” “Traumatic experiences.” Lockwood shrugged. “Everyone’s had them. What makes you think she’s any different?” “Cause you like each other.” The statement induced a sceptical grin from Lockwood, who turned away from Flo. “Of course I like her. She doesn’t like me, and it’s bloody embarrassing if it’s one-sided.” “Who said it’s one-sided?” Lucy smirked, sipping her tea at the door. “Are we having a therapy session in here? I don’t need to talk about this, now, if you excuse me, I need to talk to Austin Garcia.” He got up, but his concussion made him trip at the foot of the stairs. “Lockwood, the… stairs.” …………………………………………………………………………………………………………… “Are you sure you’re ok?” Austin asked as they took a stroll before curfew. “Yeah, I feel just perfect. What about you?” “I feel good. Better than before.” “Why wasn’t I warned that Flo was coming over?” “Nobody was.” I shrugged. “You know how she has her own key. She says-” “Never throw one away. It always unlocks something somewhere.” We both quoted at the same time, looking at each other and bursting into laughter. I felt our fingers intertwine, my finger reaching up to tuck a strand of hair behind my ear. “A rose for the happy couple? On me.” A flower seller asked, holding out a rose. “We’re not a-” “Thank you.” Lockwood interrupted, taking the rose.
"We're not a couple, Lockwood."
"What if we were?" We stopped in our tracks. "I think about it every day. Waking up and the first beautiful sight is you. I wish that upon every star every day." He tucked the rose behind my ear, "The thought is simply too tempting to resist."
"Then why do you resist it?"
"Because I never really knew that I should take a risk for love. But I will today. Austin Iris Garcia, will you do me the honour of being my girlfriend?" My only answer was to grab his tie, pulling him in for a kiss filled with fireworks. His hands gently held my waist while mine cupped his cheek before playing absent-mindedly with the stands of his hair.
"WE DID IT, LUCY!"
"GEORGE, I'LL TOSS YOU INTO THAT BLOODY WALL-"
"EVERY MAN AND WOMAN FOR THEMSELVES!"
