HEYYYY!! how are you?? i hope you’re doing well ❤️❤️
i was wondering if you could do a headcanon/story where reader is like the daughter of Dracule Mihawk but like she(or gender neutral) never met her mom, so when she was growing up Boa Hancock was like their cool auntie that she learned how to be a woman (doing makeup, painting nails, finding her style ect.)
ONLY IF YOU ARE COMFORTABLE THO, BTW I LOVEE YOUR WRITING 💕💕
HIII IM DOING GOOD ANON!! You dear? :)
i do female reader dw!! I’ll be using she/her as well, for reference
Tumblr media
Awhh dadhawk <33
AUNTBOAAUNTBOAAUNTBOAAA!! She’d be the BEST most SPOILING wine aunt EVER🍷💄
Of course it’s alright honey! Alsooo TYSM!! I’m so glad you enjoy 😭💓💓
Being mihawk’s daughter has a lot of perks and literally no down slides. actually I half way take that back. The only down slide is that there’s a target on your head for those who are crazy enough to come for you. But that’s like a mere 00.1% and even then just because they come for you doesn’t mean they’ll get to you 🤡
especially since your the NUMBER ONE swordsman’s daughter.
Also this is really random but you probably meet zoro eventually, perona as well, they obviously stay with you for some time so perona and you likely get close. I imagine you would introduce her to boa and the three of you become a trio. You and Perona are her adorable nieces and boa is your doting, beautiful and totally awesome auntie :3
don’t get me wrong mihawk is a awesome father. He seems like a very responsible man and that he would not leave you out in the cold at the cost of his own life. He spoils you just as equally as boa does and although he’s not the most trusting man on earth, he wouldn’t dare break the bond you two have when he can’t replace it with your actual mother. At this point not that you wanted to.
Never meeting your mom may have taken a toll on your mental health at first, but not to worry! Awesome aunt boa to the rescue!!
The chances of you meeting boa we’re actually very slim, whether you know it or not. As I said Mihawk doesn’t easily trust plus you probably met at a warlord meeting where he has to take you along for one reason or another.
You saw boa and naturally, thought she was very pretty. Mihawk is rather reserved too so you probably don’t see people often in general (til you get older). Therefore, seeing such a ethereal woman made you instantly admire her. You immediately wanted to get to know her—and, luckily for you, she took an interest in the girl who’s mihawk’s daughter!
now idk what you did but she started the conversation, and whatever you replied made her think you weren’t so bad! You two chatted some more and after figuring out you had no mother figure she took it upon herself to raise a cute girl such as yourself to be a good woman. She didn’t exactly want to be viewed as your mother..that would relate her too closely to mihawk, a man, for her liking. So! She’ll be the cool and classy wine aunt instead! 🍷💋
you love your dad, he does his best to raise you as a single father and pirate/warlord/worlds best swordsman. And you truly do appreciate him! But when Boa bashes him for being a man her insults are low key so funny you can’t help but laugh 🗿 (hc that Boa would be good at roasting people on the spot :3)
boa being the coolest aunt she is, she takes you to lavish places (that she rented so she wouldn’t have to bear being in the presence of those indisputable critters society calls men), gets you the most high quality makeup (that her tribe handcrafts—yes they make they’re own it’s a hc of mine), does monthly over the phone (in person when you can) mental check ins (because you love your dad but again, he’s a man, and there’s some things about women men won’t get—vice versa too of course <3)
womanly hour!~ well more like hours, you spend the whole day with boa whenever you can, she’s makes a magnificent aunt and literally never says no to you. She’s like to you how she is to luffy but less delusional platonic <3 you two go shopping and pick out clothes together, her tribe of course also gifts you all the cute clothes you could ever want (again, handcrafted) because boa adores you and they adore boa!—which means they adore you! 💕 You and the Kuja 100% get along and see eye to eye on how spectacular Hancock-Sama is~ 🥰
when your older you probably go over to visit her more often and maybe even on your own! Mihawk trusts that by then he’s trained you enough, plus i think he would have his certain set of rules but not be too strict of a dad.
teaching you how to be a proper woman with Boa 101 ;} only if you want to tho! She’ll ensure your not out here acting like some monkey—surely your not! (unless you are 🤷‍♀️) Still, she teaches you basic lady manners. :) More than anything she knows women is NOT the problem, so instead of going “keep your legs closed ☝️🤓” she says “If a man looks at you lower than your stomach, kick him in that area 😉😘” - Boa Hancock (the woman we trust💪)
AND you already know she’s gonna teach you how to kick as hard a she can 😤😮‍💨👌 which ngl by the time your older your sure to be a master in many Haki’s. You may even have conquer’s 🤷‍♀️ I wouldn’t doubt it you got Mihawk blood in you :P
Growing up Boa has constantly been warning you of men and they’re vile ways. When you become of age she’ll tell you what happened to her (that’s how much she trusts you 💗💗) and you’ll know what she means right away. She will always look out for you but gives you tips on things just in case, and if you ever feel unsafe, don’t hesitate to call her or take a trip to the island of women! The entirety of the Kuja tribe will lay down they’re lives in an instant for Hancock-sama’s lovable little niece <33
I’ve been mentioning this throughout but her taking you to the island of women definitely happens. You love it there and everyone loves you. You have so many Aunts and sisters there it’s not even funny. 😃 You adore each and everyone of them though, just as they do you. You get only the finest of treatment from them and you might as well be one of the Boa sisters. You get all you can eat premium food, the most elegant clothes tailored to your exact size and tastes, you even have your very OWN room in the Palace! Sandersonia and Marigold dote on you just as much as Hancock does the four of you very much do spend a lot of time together. 😊
The Boa sisters/the Kuja tribe teaches you the kuja tribe/survival skills personally. They start with bow and arrow and eventually moving on to haki and hand to hand combat. Now, Mihawk might have already covered this but they’re going over it again 😄 why? He might’ve missed something! He’s a man! (Btw the Kuja girls 100% ask you questions about men no holding back) Anywho, I’m sure you’d do it again even if you know it already because 1) practice 😋 and 2) who wouldn’t want to spend more time with the Kuja pirates?!
💖💖
These girls are seriously awesome 💓 (this low key became a Mihawk diss track written by Hancock but he’ll live- LOL 😂😂🗿)

What if reader flinches whenever the twist boys argues/moves suddenly/makes a movement towards them because their ex was very toxic and abusive. How'd they react? Sorry if this makes oyu uncomfortable, feel free to ignore this request if you want. Just want some comfort headcanons with the twist characters because I had a very crappy break up with a recent abusive boyfriend of mine...Also, I love your work!!
Hi! Sorry I'm getting to this so late ;-; I'm glad you like my writing! I hope you're doing better too, and for anyone who is going through a toxic relationship or had experience with it I hope you are/will be in a better place now. I'll put this under the cut in case this is sensitive to anyone, but I'll choose the characters as Floyd, Riddle, Sebek, and Deuce.
tw: implications of an abusive relationship
Floyd, Riddle, Sebek, Deuce with an s/o who experienced an abusive relationship
Floyd
At first he didn't think much about his aggressive even dangerous behavior around people. He thought it was funny to see people look scared when he threatened to squeeze them and things like that. Even with his behavior, you two somehow started dating (perhaps it was your love of basketball or maybe similar interests in the sea).
He once punched the wall more or less because he was annoyed at someone (it was not you at all) and was muttering to himself about the said person. However, when he looked up to see you (who was there studying with him in his room), you were frozen in place and just staring at him.
This caused a different emotion from him to rise up: fear. It was the fear that he scared you, caused you to see someone that hurt you for so long and so much. His usual grin or threatening aura disappeared immediately and he carefully approached you. However, you backed away, flinching when he tried to reach out his hand to you
Floyd and you end up having a long talk that day about your past relationship. If anything, Floyd was ready to find whoever your ex was and beat the shit out of him. However, what you needed from Floyd the most was comfort, which he did by giving you what felt like the softest hug you had ever received in your life. He didn't have the words to comfort you as he was not experienced in softness, but he listened to everything you had to say, told himself what he needs to do to help you heal.
Floyd is extremely attentive, even for someone that may seem so careless. He never again acts violently in front of you, rather opting to give you surprise (gentle) hugs and joking around with you. Seeing you laugh and smile always made his heart flutter. However, seeing you smile after hearing your past makes him want to protect you more. You're in safe arms, he tells himself that when your with him. He'll make sure of that
Riddle
For someone who grew up in a strict, painful childhood, Riddle thought he would understand how to not make people cry. However, the habits he learned from his mother seemed to replicate in his actions as a dorm leader. You and Riddle seemed like an unlikely match with how kind you were, but somehow you two quickly became friends and started dating
Riddle never raised his voice at you, he was the complete opposite of the way he acted to his peers. However, Riddle one day raised his voice at you when you came back to the dorms late. He yelled at how worried he was as it was storming outside, that you could get hurt and how you had to fix that habit. The next thing he knew, he was looking at you holding yourself away from him, almost like you were scared
It was as though he was seeing a reflection of himself from his childhood, one that was frightened but unable to move. HIs heart felt sudden pain, especially when he tried to talk to you but you turned your face away from him. Riddle softly said an apology, swearing he would never do that again and that he would listen to you if you wanted to talk about it
When Riddle learns about your abusive past relationship, he can't help but wish to slap himself back when he yelled at you. He wished he had known, perhaps then he could have worked harder to make you feel safe with him and never worry about being pulled into something so traumatic again. Riddle tells you he's grateful you let him know about your past and that he would do everything he can to help you and protect you. For the first time, you see your uptight boyfriend loosen up, hugging you gently and placing a kiss on your head
He will speak softly to you as he usually did (Ace and Deuce may ask you how you accomplished this) and will always be there when you need comfort. He has warm tea when you call him over because you just need someone to talk to, and he's happy you trust him. He knows it can be hard to open up to people after such a horrible experience, but if anything, Riddle will make sure the two of you walk together and that you are safe with him
Sebek
As uptight as he is, he was never one to throw hands (though the threats of doing so are much more common). He prefered being classy, almost professional in school. Perhaps that was how he met you, either through opposites attract or through similar interests. Either way, he quickly fell in love and the next thing you knew it the two of you were dating (and Lilia thought it was the cutest thing ever)
Though it seemed like you two were very close, there was one thing that always stuck to the back of your mind: his voice. It was handsome when he spoke to you gently, but there were times when it would scare you. One day, the two of you had a heated argument and he yelled your name, perhaps in a vain attempt to get his point across. However, this resulted in you freezing up, feeling tears well up in your eyes and just holding your breath, perhaps waiting for something to hit you
Sebek saw this, and he immediately knew what he did wrong. He knew his impulses were horrible, but the last thing he wanted was for you to be affected by it. All the fiery anger diminished, his voice was almost a whisper when he said 'sorry' and asked if you were alright, saying he was in the wrong for raising his voice like that.
Sebek will give you time to calm down and talk to him about what happened. He has a feeling it was something traumatic, but what he hears makes his heart break. How could someone hurt you like that? Who could do such a thing to someone so kind, so amazing, that you had to live with that fear in the back of your mind? Sebek will tell you he never wants you to be afraid of him and that he's grateful you told him about your abusive ex. If anything, it will be a promise for life that he will protect you rather than harm you
Sebek isn't the best at comfort, but he can be surprisingly gentle when he wants to be. Quiet dates around the forest or reading in the Diasomnia lounge is common with the two of you. He will try his best not to raise his voice, and he can be overprotective of you. If he ever runs into your ex, he may have the urge to beat him up. However, you come first to him, he will make sure you are safe.
Deuce
He's never had the best reputation, he knows. That's why when he went to NRC he decided to completely change his ways and become an honor student. What he didn't expect was for him to fall in love with you and ask you out (in what you could say was the cheesiest way possible). You two went on dates right away, often causing Ace to complain about being a third wheel (though he thought you two were super cute together)
You knew about Deuce's past as a delinquent because he told you about it. However you never really thought about seeing it happen until one day when he ran across some rowdy people at the seashore you two were hanging out at. The men not only catcalled you but tried to grab you, causing you to flinch. Deuce didn't think before throwing a punch at them, telling them in the most aggressive way ever to stay away, and eventually scaring them away enough for them to run. When he turned to you, he didn't see you smiling, rather you were burying your face in your arms, crouched down and trying to hide your tears
Deuce gently crouches down too, telling you it's alright and that the guys are gone. However you ask him about the violent reaction, and he realizes something's wrong. You were scared of him too. Whispering your name, he slowly pulls you into a hug and lets you cry, whispering you'll be alright and that he's sorry for scaring you like that. If you want to talk about it at a later time, he'll wait and listen when you do
If anything, Deuce would want to punch the living shit out of your ex for causing so much pain. At the same time, Deuce will want to be even more protective of you, wanting you to feel safe with him and making happy memories together. He'll make sure of that by promising to not act out violently with you around and to protect you from harassers. He'll give you a warm smile and pinky promise it too
Deuce is a bit awkward and cheesy when it comes to comfort and hugs, but it's what makes you smile. He loves seeing you happy, it's like walking through a sunny day to him, and he'll do everything he can to protect your smile. He will listen to you if you need to talk to him, and sometimes the two of you go on a magical wheel ride (as that is a way he de-stresses). If anything, he will be protective of you, but super comforting at the same time

I get ppl who theorize that Columbo’s wife is actually his husband.
But personally I like the idea that Columbo actually genuinely loves his wife, considering how commen it is to see husbands fucking despise their wives, it’s a nice change of pace.
But then again, who’s to say Columbo’s wife cant also be his husband? Who are we to assume Columbo’s wife is limited to a single gender?
i admit it's interesting on the outside. it jibes well with his whole aura of mystery and obfuscation, and i even entertain the notion sometimes for fun, but i agree. i find the "oooh he's LYING about HAVING A WIFE he's actually BACHELOR" school of Columbo Theory rather...boring.
canonically, we do substantiate her existence via phone calls and secondhand appearances/references (see: any old port, exercise in fatality, and rip mrs columbo for phone calls, troubled waters for phone calls/being seen by others, and caution: murder hazardous for a third party phone call). i talk a bit about this here and a few headcanons of mine here. there's little refutation of the point that the show wants you to know he does have a wife.
but more importantly, it is not only important that columbo's wife is real and that he loves her, it's central to his whole character. he brings her up constantly, even to people whom he isn't trying to manipulate.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
wait til she sends you out for maxi pads at 11 pm sergeant. you try and tell me the difference between super and maximum and overnight and with wings and without wings and
it is in itself a statement about the character that, in an era in which he'd be right at home making jabs at his wife, there are not only none to be found, he blabs about her to anyone who will listen. he stands in opposition to the tropes of detectives who are cold, lonely, chauvinistic, and/or womanizing; he's a person who understands love, dedication, and lasting relationships, and uses that understanding to his advantage in his work.
i just think it's a far more interesting thought experiment to imagine what kind of person could make a marriage work with a man as unique as columbo.
of course, it doesn't matter what you like to imagine columbo's partner is--man, woman, neither, trans, a bee hive--the important thing is that he loves them.
(...so long as it isn't mrs. columbo from the failed and horrifically miscast show)

(for the ask game from a few days ago) could you do Victor for 2, 12, 15 and 24
2. Favorite canon thing about this character?
i had to sit and think because this one was so hard to narrow down. on a surface level i find all sorts of things about him endearing from his mannerisms to his speech patterns, but i think the thing that got me hooked on victor as a character was how emotionally demonstrative he is, particularly for a male protagonist. this also extends generally to his love for nature, for his friends, and his siblings (disregarding the incestuous implications of his relationship with elizabeth...)
i think this was only intensified for me when i started delving into frankenstein academic essays and analysis and then, by extension, the frankenstein fandom, and found that en masse it was people criticizing victor for just what interested me to him in the first place: being emotional, and therefore somehow melodramatic, overreacting, self-centered, egotistical, etc. it was this kind of climate of victor-hate that pushed me to make a tumblr account in the first place. someone had to be the sole victor defender in this barren wasteland
12. What's a headcanon you have for this character?
this is silly and probably not the serious answer you were looking for but like 2 years ago a dear friend of mine and i were joking about how you could catch victor frankenstein in a mouse trap and ever since then his assigned fursona in my head has been a mouse:
Tumblr media
15. What's your favorite ship for this character?
by far its waltonstein (robert x victor). im aware clervalstein is vastly more popular, and while im charmed by it in-canon i dont find most depictions of it to my taste. i don't see their relationship as wholly reciprocated–one-sided on walton's end–which is part of the reason why i like their dynamic so much: its established that walton romanticizes the unobtainable, chases the unknown, and that's why he hangs all his hopes on things he cannot feasibly reach. first becoming a famous poet and going down with the greats, then sailing to find the northern passage despite being an inexperienced captain, all the while hoping for this impossibly idealistic image of a companion who would be perfectly tailored to his interests and manners, and then, against all reason, he finds this in victor, wherein victor becomes an extension of this habit, who is dying and too hung up in the past and on martyring himself, because everyone who has grown close to him has been hurt for it, so he cannot love again, or at least in the way walton wants. yet victor still has a reciprocated interest and finds a friend in him, even shares the same sentiment of the importance of friendship, but like he says no man can "be to him as clerval was." its very much wrong place/time but the right person.
ive said this before but i think, too, that if victor had recovered and lived than walton may fall a little less in love with victor. their relationship was founded on their dynamic of sick/caretaker, and beyond that, victor would have already exhausted his story, so there's no air of mystery around him anymore–nothing for walton to glorify or romanticize. ultimately i think even if they had the best of intentions and loved each other, they could not have a healthy or fully mutual relationship, and part of the appeal to me is this tragedy!
24. What other character from another fandom of yours that reminds you of them?
im drawing a bit of a blank on this one because no other character encompasses just what victor Is to me, but theres a whole host of victor-esque characters i could name because he is the literal foundation for the mad scientist archetype. if i was pressed i think id say geoffrey tempest from sorrows of satan by marie corelli (beyond his blatant misogny), and i remember some parts of emil sinclairs early narration in demian by herman hesse reminded me of victor. lucifer/satan from paradise lost also, particuarly the bit where he says he cannot enjoy the beauty of earth for the suffering of his fall, but that almost feels like a cop-out answer.
lastly–and this one is completely unfounded–itd have to be double dee from EEnE.

An annoyance I specifically have about qsmp tntduo fics is that they don’t even (usually) try to be like the qsmp versions of the characters. They have them act like dsmp, rivals that have a weird homoerotic tension. While in the qsmp, we’ve had Quackity being obsessed with Wilbur and Tallulah < and being convinced that Wilbur was the dad and tallulah was his kid. This is just the early stuff but it’s annoying how they pretend it’s qsmp when it’s clearly not.
(TNT MUTUALS SKIP THIS POST- SORRY ILY I PROMMY SRY! THIS ENDED UP TURNING INTO A RANT LMAO)
(Also none of this is my griping over what people are allowed to write or draw lol- i'm just bitching for my own sake LOL)
Yeah that's definitely a major part of my annoyance too, not helped by the fact that I also dislike /r c!tnt LOL- And I was actually interested in what q!Tnt as dynamic could've been but canon doesn't offer a whole lot to work with these days and fanon like you said either just makes them a poor man's rehash of c!tnt despite their q! counterparts being VERY different form those men or, like a mutual of mine brought up in their post, reduce q!Quack into this poor sad little wet cloth of a man that ONLY qWilbur could ever understand or fix because he's the ONLY man who actually cares about q!Quackity... just ignore Roier, and Etoiles, and Forever, and Baghera, and Cellbit, and Bagi, and- You get the point lol.
I think my last straw personally was seeing everything that Quack goes through be made to be about Wil- getting Tilin? Him and Wilbur can raise them together despite us knowing Luzu was the other parent! He loses his child? Dw he can raise Tallulah with Wilbur! Quackity's been kidnapped and replaced with Elq? Oh no! Onyl Wilbur will ever care or notice :( Just ignore that Jaiden witnessed this happen- Quackity is back, but his memories are gone and his mind severely messed with? Oh Wilbur will fix him- he'll teach him how to read and write and take care of him and they can be a family alongside Phil Tallulah and Chay! Quackity's been kidnapped again? Oh no only Wilbur will care Part 2 even though everyone quickly noticed Elq isn't Q! Quackity (and Phil) have weird tickets? This must be related to WILBUR somehow?! Quackity's DEAD?!? OH NO- WILBUR WILL BE SO SAD AND DEVASTATED! Quackity's back but extremely traumatized and broken after everything he's been though? He needs Wilbur to hug him and heal him :((((((((((((((-
And I wanna take a brief aside to complain about how people treat them and the eggs too- See I really like Quack and Pepito's dynamic, so I give into temptation and look on Twitter to find fanart of them... only to see them paired with Wilbur and Tallulah... with Quackity's OTHER CHILD Richas nowhere in sight! Because he just... doesn't matter I guess even though the two still care about each other a lot and still call each other father and son! Also the god damned disservice this stuff does for Talsy's character too- yeah she'd so be running over to hug Wil with her current growing resentment of him- but to know that'd require people to acknowledge her as more then just Wilbur's cute little daughter who exists only as an extension of him- SOMETHING SHE'S COMPLAINED ABOUT TO PHIL. But back to Quack...
Would you believe me if I told you people also did this shit during KARMALAND too- A SERIES THAT DOESN'T EVEN HAVE WILBUR PLAYING IN IT! That during the early days people were CONVINCED that k!Quackity was secretly an amnesiac c!Quackity and he was only drawn to k!Luzu because he reminds him c!Wilbur... yes people really fucking said that and god it made me so mad I won't lie 😭 People can headcanon whatever they want that's fine even if I don't gel with, the thing is it was just everywhere during the early Karmaland V days and people were doing to most to push it 'canon' cuz God forbid Q exist outside of Wil or c!tntduo in this Spanish server.
Listen- I never wanna be That Guy who DEMANDS people stop doing this or that- people can do whatever they want- I get missing a ship, I still miss Karmaland Luckity- I just wished people cared about q!Quack for q!Quack and not just tntduo. q!Quackity is a very flawed screw-up of a man with a big heart whose been through Hell and even though he wants to give up still chooses to keep on going for the sake of his new child- not to mention his mysterious connection to Elq and being forced to be a pawn to Oscurucho! He has a lot going for him outside of his celebrity crush! He has a lot of really good and complex bonds with other characters- he has a strong friendship with Etoiles, Forever tried to look out for him after Quackity lost his memories and Quackity in turn was visibly distressed when Forever went missing, HIS WHOLE THING WITH ROIER- LIKE- Quackity being a major part of the betrayal at the start of the server and Roier in turn ruining Quackity's reputation on the server in revenge but Quackity still tries to help Cellbit fix things with Roier during Festa Junina, Quackity admires the strength of Spiderbit's love to the point that it makes it reconsider his own view of what love is after his fake wedding with Wilbur's cardboard cutout, Roier still tried to help Quackity regain his memories when Quackity found Tilin's old diary, Roier is listed as one of the most important people to Quackity, during his hell coma in the maze portion there are photos of him and Roier everywhere, they even share custody of a child now- but no, Wilbur is the only one who gets or cares about Quackity, okay sure.
Anyway rant over- sorry anon I pretty much just used your ask as an excuse to vent about all my grievances I'm sorry 😭 People can send more anons about this if they want but I prolly won't answer- I don't like to bitch too much on this blog- this is the exception to that LOL I don't hate qWilbur either- I just don't care for q!tnt.

can we get some headcanons for Norton with a modern S/O who worked at an aquarium before the manor? super awesome to see you writing again!!!
There Are Many Benefits To Being A Marine Biologist (Norton HCs)
For the sake of simplicity I’ll assume that this ties into the AU assumption that the manor is some sort of cursed object where all Hunters and Survivors co exist and time has its own flow, so kind of like the stage play. If I got it wrong feel free to sent in another ask.
ok, listen, metal and aquarium don't have much in common. Your interests aren't precisely compatible, but that doesn't mean you don't care about each other
Norton is an extremely hard working person, wiling to do harsh physical labor to work his way out of poverty, the fact that people will spend money to see
fish
it’s a little off to him.
And that’s just ignoring the fact that you two come from entirely different time periods.
But circling back to the fish and the money. People will pay money to see fish? Interesting. Please do tell him more, he might copy the idea.
Jokes aside, Norton is a pretty direct and goal-oriented person, I don’t doubt he’d have you teach him everything there is to know about marine biology tm just in case you can get out of the manor one day.
If there’s a chance he can make good money without ever having to go near a mine again that’d be more than welcome to him.
He either talks about “getting out” a lot or not at all, depending on his mood. Talking about a future outside of the manor is usually a light-hearted conversation, but then his mood will drop. If you were to leave, what time would it be then? Yours? His? Further into the future? Would you even make it out there?
And if the manor were to spit you back out in his time, could you make a living there? The world he lives in is merciless and harsh. You are... too kind for that.
So, instead of talking about the depressing stuff he’ll change the topic to something else randomly.
If you have Aquarium related in-game abilities that’s going to be fascinating to see and he might change spots with others just to have the match with you.
Probably does that a lot in general because as we all know, getting hunted by a monster is the ultimate romantic couple’s activity.
Jokes aside, again, he trusts in your abilities (whatever it is that you think your abilities would be) but he likes having you close to him.
He’ll keep an eye on you, you keep an eye on him.
It’s a harsh world out there. Kindness is rare and good people, genuinely good people are even harder to find. This makes you an invaluable treasure. He won’t risk to lose that.
And yet, sometimes his temper is... challenging. He doesn’t want to, of course, but when he gets angry he gets mean. And when he gets mean, the fact that you come from an ‘easier’ time, having an ‘easy’ job is fuel to the fire. Those frustration’s aren’t aimed at you, they’re aimed at the world. They’re aimed at life itself. He knows that, you know that. Yet sometimes it still happens.
But you resolve these issues of course.
Please tell him about the fish again.
Preferably while he has his head in your lap and only has to give the occasional hum to prove he hasn’t fallen asleep yet. But please tell him about the fish again.

Axe Woves, Koska Reeves
So happy and excited for these two to be back; and not as the bad guys, whatever the negative feelings right now towards one of the two in particular. If they wanted to establish them as villains for the season, they would have incriminated them right away in aiding Moff Gideon as the previous episode seemed to set up, instead of having them off doing the Nikolai Lantsov thing in space.
At the risk of having to make pilgrimage to the mines of Mandalore, cast out of the covert and all that...is there anybody in the dinbo fam that ships Axe Woves and Koska Reeves? Or at least has in the past, given whatever said feelings at present. I take nothing in this episode personally...I expected for there to be a lot of angst and pain and anger and resentment in the anti-Bo-Katan group. Like the Skrulls in the MCU, another homeless space people. But Din x Bo-Katan and Axe x Koska have been my #1 and #2 Mandalorian OTPs since November 2020; Chapter 11 gave them both to me in one fell swoop. And while I may have to finish re-watching Season 2 to try to articulate some context...honestly, with a lot of my ships, it just kind of washes over me in a moment. Something attuned within towards two individuals that I am suddenly supposed to take note of moving forward as being important to one another in a Particular Way.
And that sort of took over again, in the climactic challenge between Bo-Katan and Axe, when everybody else in the world, and especially in our community, would have just been focussed on Katee Sackhoff kicking ass... My attention kept being divided by the looks of concern Koska would consistently shoot Axe -- and only Axe -- throughout the match. That took me out. I was not even looking for it, but I think they are actually together. (In a way that parallels Din and Bo in a low-key, behind-the-scenes, matter-of-fact togetherness. Maybe it is a Mandalorian thing? For couples to just kind of fall in with one another without drawing too much attention to it, and everybody just naturally rolls with it. Seems fitting for a warrior culture, and would be an interesting insight for our headcanoning.) And the Third Couple of this entire episode dedicated to love. A third couple to parallel dinbo over time -- and literally the only one of the three to now be accompanying them.
The first couple in the episode is actually a Direct Parallel to Axe Woves and Koska Reeves, as Axe and Koska both fucked off and left Bo-Katan thinking only of themselves. They both know they did her dirty, and they both have to make penance for it; and I think the comparative innocence of the Star-Crossed Lovers is supposed to be there nonetheless to recall for them remorse. Axe is the one that directly addresses the female -- literally even his counterpart in her being a captain -- that could be accused of luring her lover away. While Koska is the one that directly addresses the male, who ditched his whole life's responsibility for the open road. (I do not believe you for one second, baby girl -- I think you are honourable, and living for more than some quick credits.) I find it interesting that Koska witnesses the whole darksaber debacle firsthand -- and chooses to follow Axe anyway.
And of course Axe says the line "I know it was for love", which sets the theme for the entire episode, and which he says while Koska is Right There, at his right hand. (If you take a screenshot at the Exact Moment he says those six words, Koska is the one in clear focus in the scene with him...and then remember who directed this episode and how likely the director would be to do something by accident.) Not as a tool in the story just to convey it, but also speaking from personal experience. Even the emotion in his face and everything as he delivers the line -- I am sorry, but you cannot convince me he is a bad person. Even if right now he is an ass like a pre-shipping Paz Viszla. (He is basically the *Other Brother-In-Law* of the growing Kryze-Djarin family, with all its being a nuisance.) This is echoed at the end of the episode when he affirms the closing words "It would" -- the emotion in his voice when he says it, to me betrays that Sense of Remorse in abandoning Bo-Katan, and I would say even carries with it an Awe at her restored position. While Koska accompanies this with complete pride in her face at her big sister. They are no more looking to stab her in the back than you can believe Bo to stab Din.
And I maintain what I said that Bo's regard of the two of them are as Younger Siblings, whose abandonment of her at her failure to regain her birthright cut all the more deeply when we are painfully aware of how she has lost Older Siblings. I in no way believe either of them to be Bo-Katan's ex. And sex is not the only possible human source of beef. I believe Axe to have more a lust for power than a lust for Bo, and that his issue with Din to have been straightforward from the moment they met -- "He's one of them." Literally the first words he ever says. His distrust of his zealotry mixed with a petulance at his big sister's boyfriend being the one instead of him, next in age order, to gain a family heirloom. That is more than enough motivation for a human being to move and more than enough for them to be shit.
But on that note, not only do I believe redemption to already be on its way for these two, with redemption being the main theme of this season, and loving somebody not possible without the ability to forgive them... (I hardly think we as a community can ignore all this perceived animosity going down in literally the same space as meeting Jack Black's Imperial. Everything in this episode is for a reason, and the 4 couples overlap and complement one another in their different experiences. It is not just everything flowing one way to dinbo, but all over the chart.) I have said that Paz Viszla would be the biggest dinbo shipper if ever; these two would be the next biggest shippers, once they redeem themselves to Bo and get it together. All the knee-jerk negative energy the past week made me actually not want to write this damn thing, as thought it would just be antagonistically received. ...which is kind of sad, as seeing that Third Couple in my head gave me such giddy feelings and actually in light of it being PRO-DINBO, which is what we are all here for in the end. So kindly excuse it being Roughly Written, as put off to the last minute; I had hoped it would be more coherent. But just as we have always held in one hand the possibility of Bo betraying Din, as slim as it gets by the week, unless Axe and Koska betray them, I hope I can continue to add more to this series for supporting our Shared Ship. Literally the Two People that were with Bo-Katan when she met her husband and son, and I hope two more people -- not just him and Grogu -- meant when Din will say to Bo in the season finale, "We're here for you."

Angouleme for the character bingo
Tumblr media
i am so normal about them - did you know that when the guards call her "skittish" in her debut in ttos ch. 5 and fringilla calls her "flighty" in lotl ch. 4, they're actually using the same word, płochy? of which could be translated as "fickle," "thoughtless," "skittish," or "insignificant, trivial" or "unsteady in (her) feelings", or "careless," "untamed," or "reckless" ... isn't that interesting! i just think that's interesting.
i have so many headcanons about them - my entire (planned but not written) fic with her and regis spins around my head... i'm torn on whether to post a plot summary of this on here (basically copying over what i've said in discord messages), or if i want to avoid spoiling any of this and just wait until i've finished it (and who knows when or if i will ever write this)
*projects onto them like a mf* - yes, though admittedly to her detriment, it's a habit i've tried to stop. i find that my excessive editorializing of her spoils her character :p stick to the facts, people! i admit it's difficult if only because we share some similar issues, but the thing that i have to keep in mind is that we have entirely opposite personalities, and even if we feel similarly, her feelings will express themselves differently.
wordless space 1, "i just think she's neat"
everyone else is wrong about them - people just forget about her character, and i'm not only speaking of them forgetting about her existence - that they also do often enough, but they also do not pay attention to her. that's probably my biggest pet peeve regarding her, is that people find her quirky and funny, but do not remember the context around her character... that she nearly escaped the scaffold, and from that nearly the stake, with eyes gouged out and breasts torn by iron-hot pincers? that she genuinely was begging to be hanged when she was introduced as a character, begging for death? or that she has hidden from pursuers in toussaint before? that she has "friends" such as golan drosdeck whom she owed debts to? that she is knowledgeable about the mining operations and the reddishness of the earth, and explains the subject to geralt and cahir? or that she is upset when civilians are afraid of them from killing bandits "because they were evil," so she indeed has a moral compass? that she screams like a banshee when trying to kill nightingale? or that she 'resembled a pretty girl' when given a comb and dress, and that she got tipsy during the october banquet and could be heard throughout the hall? her character actually has so much detail and diversity if you actually pay attention, but hardly anyone remembers her as anything asides from a silly little girl that joined geralt's hanza and provides some laughs for the reader. and then they ask why the female characters are one-dimensional. idk, possibly because it is these reader which made them one-dimensional in their very own minds because they are not strong readers and forget all the detail that's literally written right there on the page... oh, and by the way, it was not a hanza before she joined, because she is the very one which dubs it that in the first place. before angouleme joined, they were just the "company". that is my angouleme rant done 😌
that's a solid design right there - canonically, great: "The girl sniffed again, inclined her head and fixed Geralt with her huge eyes. Nut-brown, not green. Then she shook her untidy mane of light hair, causing it to fall onto her forehead in unruly locks," and personally (if i can compliment the own personal way i see her), i love to give her a silhouette with a short, cropped top and long, flared pants. somewhat like this:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
they are so silly - ignore my entire rant above about her being treated like a comic relief character and nothing more... because she is indeed funny and a bright little jester of a girl.
wordless space 2, "squeaky toy"
bastard - literally. she is an illegitimate child born out of wedlock.

Here’s your excuse too rant about your favorite character for as long as you want.
Go crazy bitch!
Haha, you don’t know how stupid this is going to be. I have extreme brain rot for my favs and ADHD so it’s like hyper fixation x 10 lol
MePhone X (II): All of the MePhones are so interesting to me and I would go absolutely feral if they all come back and get a spinoff series or something, but the one I have the most love for at the moment is MePhone X and it actually infuriates me LMAO.
He has had no screen time, no personality, and no actual relevance yet but my asshole ADHD brain won’t let me stop thinking about him! It’s mostly just headcanons on how he will act/operate and ideas for plot lines with MePhone 4 and the cast that circulate in my mind but they make me kinda happy (idk). I really want to make art and write about him more but then I have to remind myself that he hasn’t come out yet. I always think of him as the MePhone that’s built to be a weapon but might actually be really sweet. If he dies expect me to cry and make 1000+ fix-it-fics about him lol (unless he’s like super evil or something).
Bot (II): They’re so silly and I love their character arc. Their design is also really cool and they’re so fun to draw. They really flourished after they were able to be themselves and while I know many people don’t like their arc, I think it was good. I hope we get to see them go back with MePhone 4 and live at Hotel OJ with Fan and Test Tub.
Moonstone (EEE): She is literally me, nervous, gets flustered easily, and shy. I would LOVE it if she could get a fraction of screen time like the others do and if her powers were actually utilized but whatever I guess.
Diary (EEE): She is my number one favorite, I mean, did you see what she did to that Dino in E3! That was cool! Like with Moonstone, I wish she got more screen time but I also, for some reason, want to know her backstory. She’s a journalist who works for Poison in a large city, that sounds interesting to me. Her fic (https://m.fanfiction.net/s/11407809/1/Moonthery) shows that she’s a huge asshole but I’m still really curious.
Toney (Earthbound/Mother2): Again with the characters that have no plot relevance T-T
I don’t really have an explanation on why he was a favorite character of mine but I guess it would have to be because of the little bit of personality we see from him and his interactions with Jeff.
GLaDOS (Portal 1/2): GLaDOS’s story is really interesting and dark and has set the standard for AI in my mind. When I learned about what she’s gone through all that hatred I had for her melted away and I felt like she was forced into a situation she had no choice in being in. A long time ago I heard this audio clip of Caroline pleading with the Aperture scientists that she didn’t want to become GLaDOS and it made my heart sink. If I ever find it I’ll share it but it was a while ago.
Auto (Walk-E): My first ever encounter with an AI character and what set me on the path of absolutely loving robots! I think it would be cool to see how he’s doing now with the humans all leaving him but for the love of everything Pixar should not touch this movie or characters with a thousand-foot pole. I would actually die if they made a sequel, just leave old films alone!
Anyways, thanks for giving me the excuse to yap about my favorite characters.

"Sans doesn't read a bedtime story to Papyrus" <- okay but he literally does. It's canon. Like your entire reblog bordered on the "My hcs and interpretations are better because I'm fully canon and no one can enjoy others" carlyraejepsans level shit but I assumed you didn't mean it like that and I was used to the bullcrap so I was reading in too much. But like. :/ it's never confirmed he dOeSnT hAvE nIgHtMaReS or shit. Have fun with character analysis and hcs and have fun writing him strictly to canon but don't make stuff up and state its canon -_- you seem like a well meaning person but please actually do some research before you decide what's canon?
BUT IT'S ONLY CANON IF I LIKE IT DON'T YOU UNDERSTAND???
Anyway about interpretations/headcanons how bout that headcanon of my blog lmao. I guess that's how I come across strictly from blog view and not when I'm spamming dumb theories at people in discord oops.
I'll clarify then.
I don't like apologizing because I'm never wrong it seems like an excuse to let people kick you if you show weakness on the great old internet, HOWEVER. I will make an exception and say sorry.
I'm sorry for giving the impression or directly saying? (memory bad) that I only follow canon and that canon is obviously the best and only way to see things. That is very unfun for everyone, and I like having fun, a lot of it. I also hate controlling others or others attempting to control me (see: my entire existence in this fandom).
I have only said it on discord but I should make it clear here as well:
I purposely ignore/put down Sans's importance in anything, it could be out of spite? hatred? (I do not have the time for hate I have to draw) or simply for entertainment.
Spoiler: it's for entertainment, a majority of stuff is about Sans and I find it a lot of fun to go out of my way to remove him from concepts/ideas/theories. I've also found this very interesting because it forces me to look elsewhere for concepts/theories and see things I hadn't before because he was in the way. (I don't mean this maliciously)
Contradicting or nonsense headcanons are loads of fun, are mine better? Of course to me they are, that's why they're on my blog, that's why I post about them. Are there headcanons I don't like? Yes, a lot of them, I used to complain about them a lot in the past, but lately I'm wasting my time more efficiently by searching for stuff in Undertale for the 100th time that's not actually there.
I'm not 100% canon. Do I want to be canon? Absolutely not. Do I use canon to bully people? YES. IF YOU THINK SANS LIKES PUNS THINK AGAIN. DO YOU THINK SANS IS STRESSED WITH BILLS? HAHA JOKES ON YOU. WHAT? HE HAS NIGHTMARES? NOT ON MY WATCH.
I want to enjoy my Papyrus focused content in my Papyrus focused corner is that too much to ask? (It is)
ANYWAY. To answer the original grievance:
Undyne stays the night? (It is not confirmed if it's more than one night) at Papyrus's house, and confirms that he doesn't sleep, that specifically: He doesn't know HOW to sleep. Does this mean that he NEEDS Sans to read to him to sleep?
No. Because it's not mentioned, it could have easily been brought up at this point since Sans already puts himself in some calls already, but it's not. The only one who brings it up is Sans when he's alone, where no one else can argue it or confirm it. What if it's too embarrassing to say in front of Papyrus? Well I mean he already teases him for the junior jumble thing so it wouldn't be out of line for Sans to tease him about that, too.
BUT, if Sans reads Papyrus a bedtime story, why doesn't he remark on the fact Papyrus has nightmares? Wouldn't he have to read to him every time a nightmare woke him up? But again, Papyrus also mentions that he's just too busy to sleep, no mention of needing to sleep, or reading a bedtime story, Papyrus also doesn't bring up Sans reading, or reading to him in any context.
Anyway to argue the "Sans doesn't have nightmares" statement, I'll refer back to my thing of 'removing Sans from ideas because it's funny'. Hahahaha.
But also there's no proof Sans has nightmares, AND WHILE I UNDERSTAND THE HEADCANON- I refuse it because it's funny, but also because Papyrus DESERVES nightmares as a trait and it's unfair to take that away from him.
"But Max, can't they both get nightmares?"
NO.

heyy its the Jack hc’s anon. I was thinking like affection/fluff hc’s about her and Shepard(either Renegade or Paragon) Cannon gives us so little about her apart from the 1 scene in me2 and m3 :(( Or maybe a scenario of a Renegade!Shepard actually taking up her offer to go pirate after the Suicide mission instead of heading to Earth? She’s such a ride or die of a person that i can 100% see it happening. Now that I’m replaying the games actually (just finished 2 again) it seems so out of character for like 80% of the crew to just give Shepard up with little to no fight or maybe that’s just my opinion. I have a. love/hate relationship with the writing of the end of ME2. What are your thoughts on it?( or maybe im just heading in with too much expectation after playing BG3)
a little personal headcannon of mine is that she writes Shepard short poems but refuses to show them to anyone :)
Alright, I've added fluffy Jack headcanons to my list! I'll post it in some days.
And omfg yes! Poetry! I've read the Shadowbroker intel on her and god her poem was actually good. It's so endearing how she managed to find an artistic release for her emotions, especially with how much she tries hard to appear tough on the surface.
I see her writing down her emotions on Shepard since the first time her heart fluttered, and up to the time she actually admitted her feelings. How she's not used to this. Sex is just sex, nothing big. But love? Actual love? She feels like a fish out of water. Very clumsily trying to find her way through this.
For the pirate thing, I actually theorise that she didn't mean it when she first suggested it. That she just said that to get Shepard to leave Cerberus and maybe Jack planned to bacstab you afterwards.
But Ironically, the more she got to know you afterwards, the more she fell in love and the pirate offer with her as your executionor starting sounding a little too sincere. What started as a manipulation tactic, quickly evolved into a genuine dream of hers that she hoped you wouldn't forget.
For Paragon Shepard, they do surrender themselves to the alliance right? I'm not sure what Renegade Shepard does but I don't think they'd want to make themselves a wanted war criminal on the run, Renegade priorities their self interest first and still holding onto their hero fame and statues by complying with the alliance seems the most self serving even if they hate it.
I romanced Thane, and he mentioned that he tried to get in touch, but the Alliance blocked all his attempts. And he's like a master assassin. He never uses his real name or leaves a trail behind. So imagine how intense the security must have been around Shepard.
Even Miranda needs our help to get access to the Alliance files in ME3. Miranda. The Alliance really are no joke, and even Cerberus struggle with them, so imagine being one pirate on the run from them.
I assume everyone else also tried to get into contact with Shepard but got blocked or stopped before anything could reach their commander. Especially since Shepard was kept on earth, any alien would stand out there, and hitting the hornet's nest is never a good idea.
The only ones with the slightest chance of making it to Shepard would've been Joker, Ashley, and Kaidan.
For me the ending of ME2 with the batarians whole things just feels...forced? Like they needed Shepard to do something drastic so they threw it in. The reapers coming through the relay felt so out of place with the whole collectors thing.
Because the do come eventually, they do arrive later in ME3 so what difference did it make but make Shepard go under court for a while? They did it to delay the reapers and give people more time to prepare for the war, but no one prepared shit. They arrive and kick earth in the balls and all of thos batarians died for nothing.
I mean at least if they had died from the reapers then the blood wouldn't have been on Shepard's hands, and the rest of the galaxy would've had a little bit more time to prepare while the reapers are busy with the batarians. Earth wouldn't have been patient number zero.
If they had believed Shepard, It would've have been worth it. But they didn't, nothing changed. And now I'm just more pissed at the asair and how the favouritism they got from the protheons and the way they threw it away and hoarded knowledge.
I am also pissed at Liara's response to thussia when Shepard and Garrus both witnessed the literal same thing but oh it's okay for humans and turians to watch their planets burn, it's only bad when the poor asari have it done to them because they're hot you see :(
Like I usually adore Liara and her writing, she proves your expectations wrong at every turn but they massively dropped the ball with Thussia and making her have a breakdown over it when she hasn't showed the slightest remorse for when earth was burning or Garrus saw the city he was born in ablaze. I feel like they made her weaker on purpose just to have a scene of us comforting her, when normal Liara would've took it in stride like the soldier shadowbroker she is.
Also I adore Jack's character development in ME3 because that's exactly the direction I hoped they'd go for when I took her on the biotics field suicide mission in ME2. My vision was that I wanted to show her that she can protect others with her biotics and not just harm people.
And that's exactly what she does with her little guys, she is so protective of them and encouraging. She knows what it's like to grow up alone with no friends, she has had it worse than most kids and she felt all the pain. Yet she gave her students none of the pain, she broke the cycle of abuse by herself without our help and wanted to be a better person for them.
She wanted to become the person she needed most when she was a kid, I admire her for that.

very informal thoughts on the more mundane villains I write (Avranc, Brodda and Lorgan)
mentions of bad stuff from canon ahead
anon who wanted to see this, I hope you do! I’m also going to go back to it tomorrow and finish any edits and additions as I can’t from mobile right now...
third and last time I’m reposting this. apparently Tumblr is once again doing the thing where it doesn’t let you edit things under a cut on mobile
Avranc
mundane evil at its finest. Bureaucratic, petty, and callous. Depraved indifference is the term I used in my recent meta about The Wanderings of Húrin and it’s the most accurate thing I can say about him. He’s well aware that he’s living in a nigh apocalyptic world and he’ll mistreat or even kill anyone he thinks has earned it.
His cruelty towards completely traumatized Húrin and callousness about Morwen’s death was surprisingly disturbing to me when I first read The Wanderings and it’s stuck with me ever since
Brodda:
I really hate this man! I’m not normal about it, either. If you’ve ever mentioned disliking him even in tags or comments you might have dealt with my overexcited responses. Sorry in advance/in retrospect. It will probably happen again.
Technically in my published stories he’s only in a few but he features heavily in unpublished stories of mine too. The scene where Morwen scares him away by looking is simultaneously one of the scariest and most amusing scenes in the entire book for me.
In one of those published stories Aerin says that his best quality is his long periods of absence and the kindest thing he does is ignoring her. That’s the highest character endorsement you’ll get from a reliable source.  The previous batch of Aerin headcanons and the next one has some less than fun facts about him.
What to say about him? He’s a mid level commander and violent sadist who accuses women of witchcraft. He often ignores Aerin because he gets bored of being cruel to the same people, hence her glowing character endorsement (my sarcasm as well as hers). He’s way too obsessed with his own dagger (hence the title of the story) He’s mostly fun to write when he’s getting stabbed by Morwen with it and the art I have of it is the best thing ever. Earlier last year I thought my dark!Finarfin was the worst character I’d write but I think even he isn’t as bad, if only because dark Arafinwë has more self awareness.   The BoLT version is interesting too because it puts his actions in an even more disturbing light when he’s acting against his own people. I tend to use a combination that has him originally from Hithlum but having left a couple decades before the start of the Narn. I have...thoughts about this including one of the most disturbing things I think I have ever come up with regarding Dagor Bragollach.
Anyways he’s an awful person and needs to stay away from Aerin and Morwen and just about everyone else on the planet. Currently I’m playing with an idea for a wip where Morwen does convince Aerin to flee to Hareth in Brethil and then finds herself accused of causing her vanishment by sinister means.
But I had to work out his character so much for Cut Your Hand As Willingly (semi published, it has its own tag which I’ll put on this post) that I’m not sure I could face writing him again.
Lorgan: Any visuals I have of him are based on the description of the governor from The Magnus Archives episode Foundations. He’s notable to me mainly for being the guy who Húrin yells at in The Wanderings. Well, one of them. I guess that story does have more than one instance of Húrin yelling at people.   He also apparently considered abducting Niënor. I don’t know exactly what version this was in, I actually thought I invented that in my brain but then two people completely unrelated posted about it so it’s somewhere in HoME. I have a post about it here. It’s kind of pathetic that he failed in this despite the family being actually cursed. Always a possibility for further exploration in dark aus He doesn’t appear in many of my stories except as a background character.
I don’t like him much either but it’s also interesting to imagine versions where he was originally of Húrin’s people too.

Abraxasverse Headcanons - "Contrasting Sequel Antagonists"
Just spitballing a couple thoughts and ideas of mine about what other Titan antagonists could be like in the Abraxasverse, for anyone who’s interested in using them.
1. Conqueror Ape-Titans
If the Scar King of GxK has an equivalent in the Abraxasverse, then…
(a) I like to think there’d be not one, but three or several such ape Titans, living together deep in the Hollow Earth for millennia; so as to fit with primates being social creatures and with primate Titans like Kong and Thor feeling “closer to human.”
(b) And I’m imagining that, back in the day before their species were reduced to these last few survivors, these Scar Ape(?) Titans were basically Alpha Titan imperialists: they were out to conquer and dominate all other life on Earth including the other Titans and the ancient humans with this “right of a superior species” ideology, they were actually quite competent at their conquestmongering on account of adult Kong’s power level being the Scar Ape species’ standard, and they weren’t at all shy about crushing or trying to crush anything that resisted or opposed them.
And the present day survivors of the species still hold true to that ideology when they learn about the outside world’s current natural order after the Mass Awakening, and they decide to get involved in the outside world again…
© Narratively, maybe it’s Kong who finds the Scar Apes in the Hollow Earth, not realising until after the fact what these fellow ape Titans he’s found alive are REALLY like and what they’ll do…
-
2. Spacegodzilla’s Xenilla/the Space Crystal Cordyceps
(a) So maybe, if the Space Crystal Cordyceps inside Ozymandias/Spacegodzilla does have its own sentient consciousness separate from Ozzy’s, then maybe, to contrast with Ghidorah’s motives for destroying everything across the stars and Gigan’s motives for killing or fate-worse-than-death-ing everyone across the stars; maybe the Cordyceps’ motives beyond neutralising all serious threats to itself (i.e., Godzilla) are that it wants to spread itself and assimilate as much as possible because it suffers from an insatiable hunger for new information from the nervous systems it infects, and it feels it needs to know everything. So Gigan’s fleet designed their sentient bioweapon to be in just as much lifelong pain as the victims that it infects.
(b) OR, if the Space Crystal Cordyceps DOESN’T have a mind of its own and is just as mindless as any fungus, then I can imagine that it’s all just a corrupted Ozymandias in Spacegodzilla: what the Cordyceps did was rewrite Ozzy’s personality while he was helpless to stop it during the infection, like Alzheimer’s. Turning him from a noble creature into a twisted monster obsessed with controlling everything via spreading the Cordyceps which he’s psychically linked into via his infection, while he had no agency of his own.
---
All interesting ideas! It really is sad that Kong would finally find the Scar Apes (or maybe Scarred People or Scarred Ones? Maybe in AbraxasVerse they practice ritual scarification?), after being led by the false hope that their might be more of his kind in the Hollow Earth so naturally he’s elated to meet them, but over time his hopes are utterly dashed by the realization of what the Scarred Ones plan...
Hm, I personally like the first option for Space Crystal Cordyceps, but the second option is also good for how comparatively mundane it is. Actually, the first instance’s SCC’s endless thirst for knowledge can mesh nicely with something I’ve been mulling over regarding Gigan’s fleet (since it’d been established in the tags that they’re involved with the SCC and Ozymandias’ abduction), so now might be as good a time as any for a potential lore drop:
The fleet’s whole thing is cybernetics and body modification, in a sort of “imitation is the sincerest form of flattery” regarding Gigan himself, who they revere as a living god (natch). The first alterations begin in utero and continue on throughout their lifetimes, genetically altered and given so many cybernetic implants that by the time they’re adults it’s almost impossible to think they’re the same species they were at birth. They might as well be, compared to anyone from the main planet they hail from. And then once their lives approach the end, they will be temporarily put on life support with a combination of chemicals and their own extensive cybernetics, so they can experience the skin flayed from their bodies and sewn onto a leather tapestry representing a family tree; once dead, the cybernetics will be systematically removed from them, cleaned and decontaminated so they may be transferred to the next generation.
The point of cybernetics is not to remove themselves from their organic origins, but to extend it and heighten sensation. Experience is the name of the game, and pain is a vital part in realizing one’s own existence. Never go “full borg,” as they’d say in Cyberpunk, because then what would be the point? If you remove your pain receptors then you lose an important part of Self; pain is gone, but pleasure loses its meaning, and you slowly feel yourself slip away. To adopt the Metal in the image of Gigan is a form of worship, yes, but the Flesh is an anchor to keep you centered, to remind you of your own mortality. You adopt the Metal so your Flesh can experience the universe’s wonders with more clarity; knowledge and sensation are the keys to a good life. And so, just as the fleet chases sensation, the SCC chases knowledge.

Yeah, eveytime I see people claiming harwin is her greatest love like it's the absolute truth and not just a HC I always wonder if they read the same book that I did. Because I honestly did not have that impression at all, there's not enough information about their relationship that leads to people treating that as canon. And if we were supposed to come to that conclusion grrm could have done that with very few words like he did with a lot of other couples. And I'm sorry but saying they were lovers and had 3 kids is not enough for me, specially when she was married to a gay man. If grrm really writes their novella that will probably change, maybe he became more interested in the relationship more recently so he might retcon and make it a great romance and that would be fine. But as of now no one is gonna convince me he originally wrote f&b intending for us to have that conclusion. Also it's fine to have that as your hc, I have a lot of hcs too, it's just tiring to see people repeating that as if it's canon and anyone that thinks otherwise is wrong 😶
Hi! Yes, it makes me cringe so hard, like... What book did y'all read? Because it can't be the same one with mine. It's told again and again how Rhaenyra was "enamoured" with Daemon since she was just a girl, how she cheered for him, how thrilled she was at his return, she was always "my prince" this and "my prince" that. (I love her so much, actually, she was so 😭❤) Daemon was her one, great love from beginning to end - it's clear as day. And Daemon spoiled her rotten and pampered her like none other all her life. George could not have made it clearer even if he wanted to.
I mean, to be fair to Grrm, Harwin fans forget that George said that he would like a novella on Rhaenyra, Harwin AND Laenor, because he is interested to know how each party felt in their arrangement. It doesn't sound like a retcon for the greatest romance to me, honestly. You have a gay husband and a princess who needs solace. He had no need to include Laenor, or he could have outright said: "I'd love to write this because Harwin is her one true love" or "I'd love to write this because this is a great love story". But he didn't.
It's also very clear that he had to sent Daemon away because otherwise him and Rhaenyra would either elope together, as they did later, or become lovers, in which case all her children would have silver hair.
And in general all the things George did for Daemon plot wise, are because of Rhaenyra. He sent him 7 years in the Stepstones while she was a child because he did not wish for their relationship to be grooming.
He sent him back to the Stepstones while she was forced to marry because otherwise they would become lovers. When Daemon married Laena Rhaenyra was heavily pregnant. The moment Daemon comes back from Pentos with Laena, they are always with Rhaenyra, always together.
(Because even George knew it would be illogical for them to stay apart)
This headcanon with Harwin is just that, a headcanon, and it honestly makes me go 😬 every time I read it, especially because you are treated like the biggest idiot if you don't agree, and it's frustrating. Harwin does absolutely nothing for me as a character, I'm sure Rhaenyra loved him, they had children together, and Daemon did perceive him as a rival for her affections. But other than that we know nothing about his personality, only that he is "unproblematic".
And this is something this fandom absolutely adores - minor side characters devoid of any kind of personality (or importance to the story) that are unproblematic. There is something to be studied about this, really.
I used to be frustrated by all this, but now I find it quite amusing actually? I would only wish for them to stop bashing and hating on others when they don't agree with their imaginary headcanons. Going as far as to claim that "only us can enjoy Rhaenyra and Daemon as a couple intellectually, only us are their real fans, because we understand how much they loved Harwin and Laena". Which... what does that even mean? Gatekeeping fantasy couples? It's giving embarassing, really. 🤷‍♀️

For the ask game; 3, 11, and 16 (yes I just randomly generated these don't hold me responsible for which ones they chose)
(I'm gonna assign these Gensh 'cause why not)
3. screenshot or description of the worst take you've seen on tumblr
I do not have and will not take a screenshot, but I think "everyone only woobifies Scaramouche because one piece of canon says he's nice to children, and they should stop writing" still pisses me off the most, genuinely. It's such a high-horse, full of shit take that you can only really have if you've been deliberately not paying any attention to canon. The ENTIRETY of Sumeru should have put this take in the ground where it belongs. And it ain't even the full tidbit of the thing being referenced either. I think you should honestly quit playing Gensh if you're not actually going to pay attention to the story and lore and get on a high-horse about how other people totes have it wrong. It's fine to have preferences for characters, but genuinely fuck off with the "any take I dislike is obviously wrong and shouldn't be written" shit.
11. number of fandom-related words you've filtered
Not-very-many, but that's because the lack of Gensh people I follow, so it tends not to be necessary. It's like...two or three things, currently? Could turn into more if I actually got more active (or if people would tag stuff I really don't like that doesn't really get tagged)
16. you can't understand why so many people like this thing (characterization, trope, headcanon, etc)
Polite Answer: A few characters I personally find boring or un-engaging, some headcanons I'm really not into, and one version of a take on a ship that baffles me.
Detailed answer under the read more;
I really don't see the whole wide appeal of characters like Barbara, Noelle, Nilou, Kokomi, Mona...to me, they're all just kind of generically cute and sweet. (And one character I forgot I kind of genuinely despise, but I think I get the appeal so I don't think I can put her here...) I guess I can kind of get it, but the more people angrily try to say how great they are and complain about That Sort Of Take while putting down other characters like Itto, the less inclined I am to even try to like them, and the more resentful I get instead. I also have zero interest in the "pop idol" facet of Barbara's personality, and was more interested in her in the story when she was doing her priest/nun role, since I'm EXTREMELY used to "cutesy bubbly girl who sings" and not very used to "cute-but-serious nun" characters.
(Also call Barbara fucking minor-coded again and I will find a way to rip through this computer screen I swear to god)
Next would probably be Childe being some kind of confident playboy. I think that's born of the English dub exclusively, and has no fitting place in any genuine part of his personality. It's hard to explain, but he gives me way more of an Innocent But Violent Kid vibe, particularly with his devotion to the Tsaritsa. (No this isn't child-coding, this is a description of trauma stuff) And I find that much more fascinating. (Also very funny to think his sex education might be a little lacking if he had to learn from other Harbingers or something) Also I have NO idea why people like him saying "girlie" so much. In every other language, he's far more polite and essentially says some form of "miss", and I haaaaaaate when people call me "girlie" so, so much. That's just a personal pet peeve of mine. Can't trust english fandom with anything.
And basically, in general, if it's the english fandom's version of the character, I pretty much exclusively don't understand it or its appeal. The takes of people that only engage with the english dub and nothing else are generally pretty bad and way off the mark for actual characterizations, especially with things like the Harbingers.
While I've since remembered some ship takes I genuinely dislike a bit, one that baffles me endlessly is Kazuha/Wanderer; specifically the version where they make a lot of parallels between Kazuha and Niwa, but think it's BadWrong to ship Niwa/Wanderer. Like, friend, bud, amigo, chum, pal.......what? You're very, very close to just writing straight up Niwa/Wanderer, what's your problem, why are you complaining?
(...I also don't really get why so many people like Wanderer/Mona. I kinda sorta get the basis, but I also just...don't...like Mona, as previously mentioned, and I don't really know what's so compelling about those two together.)
I'd generally advise to take mmmost of these with a grain of salt. I'm the type of person that can be tricked into liking anything so long as you get me writing it for whatever reason.
But I WILL grow to hate things out of spite also, so. you know.
