~
A storm was rolling outside the old house that Aidan and Josh rented. Thunder crashed and lightning strobed behind the windows.
The boys had showered together and nestled into bed. They snuggled as they snored gently.
Aidan had PTSD from the war so it was hard for him to sleep. Josh was always a light sleeper ever since he was a toddler. Usually they laid awake, but tonight they had finally gotten to sleep before 2am.
Aidan mumbled sometimes between snores. Things like, "no," or "stop," and sometimes, like tonight, his mumbles woke himself from a nightmare.
"Mhh, no...plea-...no..STOP!" His eyes shot open, so did Josh's. Aidan jumped up and gripped Josh's throat. His eyes black with hunger. Josh began gasping only a second before Aidan let him go and was across the room in vampire speed.
He began coughing and rubbed his neck. "Ack- Aidan?! What the hell?! W-where are you?" Joshes voice was horse and raspy. He looked around in the darkness, still coughing, but didn't see his lover. "Aidan?" He got no response. "Baby?" Nothing. No movement, nothing.
"Honey, it was a bad dream, right? Another bad dream?" Aidan was hidden well. "It's okay, it was an accident. You didn't mean it."
That's when he heard a sniffle. Aidan was in the farthest corner heading into the bathroom. He turned on the sink and drank some water out of his palm. Josh slid over and hopped out of bed, stumbling to the bathroom.
"....i'm sorry...i'm so sorry.." Aidan was mumbling.
Thunder cracked along side lightning and illuminated Aidan's crying face. He never looked Josh in the eye.
"Aidan, it didn't hurt, you move too fast. It just scared me." Josh wrapped his arms around Aidan's back. He, in return, turned around and hugged him tightly to his chest. Josh did a little hop and wrapped his legs around Aidan's waist instinctively, as it was customary for Aidan to lift Josh up and hold him. And that's just what he did. Aidan wrapped one arm under Josh's rear, and the other around his back. They hugged for a while. Josh went limp and wrapped his arms around his lovers shoulders, laying his head down.
"I never wanna hurt you. Never." Aidan kept his face low.
"Hey..I promise, Im fine. Look at me."
Aidan swallowed but didnt look up.
"Aidan, Look at me." Josh demanded so gently it was almost cute. Aidan looked up, slightly grinning.
Josh smiled and kissed him softly on his freshly shaven cheek. "I love you."
"I love you too." Aidan whispered. There was no going back to sleep.
"Hungry?" He asked Josh. He had no clue why, he didn't cook. He didn't know what to cook even if he did.
"Yeah.. you?"
He hesitated. That's why. He was thirsty.
"Aidan?" Josh looked into his eyes. He remembered the blackness of them when he had just woken up, the darkness that took hold of him in the night. He knew Aidan was scared of it. He felt bad for his partner. Maybe he could help.
"Aidan if your thirsty, that's okay."
Aidan lowered him down to his feet. He mumbled something while heading to the fridge. Josh followed, reaching for his cold hand. Aidan took it, knowing what he wanted without even seeing him. "Mine." Josh giggled. "Mine." Aidan returned with a calm smile.
Aidan opened the fridge door, Josh reached over him and grabbed a bunch of sandwich supplies. Aidan rummaged around in the bottom of a drawer, smiling at Josh who went into his own little daydream;
He was a sandwich maker. His sandwiches were like art, selling for millions. Nobody ate them, they just sat them on shelves, and collected every different possible combination. They never expired, and they were always as delicious as heaven. Made with the finest cheese and impeccable meats.
Aidan went back to searching after watching him humming a tune and prepping for his midnight feast.
He couldn't find it. He started to worry but kept it internally for the moment. He didn't want to upset or disrupt Josh. He searched everywhere, moving everything. None. No blood whatsoever. His panic leaked from the seams he had locked in place.
"Where's my blood?!" He whispered then said again but a little louder.
"Hm?" *Crunch* Josh began chewing his yummy sub.
"I'm out.." Aidan sighed and pushed the fridge door harder than he ment to. He caught it just before it made audible slam and gently closed it.
Josh had the biggest bite of bread, meat, cheese, and condiments, in his mouth that he could barely chew. It made Aidan momentarily forget about his stress and chuckle at his boyfriend. Love in his eyes. But the moment faded slowly and Aidan knew what he had to ask of Josh.
He hated feeding from Josh. Yes it was always pleasant. His blood provided nutrition, the burn faded from Aidan's throat for a moment, and taste was heaven. It was the give and take of trust and consent that Josh loved about it. It was intimate. But sometimes he got lost in it, and could barely pull himself out. It was like fighting sleep. Your mind wants one thing, but it knows that giving in would feel so good. So natural. It was so hard to resist when he wasn't full. He could only get full if he drained Josh. Something he would Never do.
Now would be the best time to feed. Josh was groggy from sleep, which would keep him calm. He was eating, which would keep him from passing out.
He swallowed. "Is everything okay?" He asked. His big brown doe eyes looking up at Aidan. He melted.
"No..I'm out of blood bags. I'm sure you wont mind-"
".. yes, please." He whispered excitedly, looking up at Aidan, putting down his food and clasping his hands together. It was cute. Aidan stepped forward and lifted his chin with a bent finger. "Look at me." Josh did, blush spread across his face. Aidan pulled him against his body by his hips. His tummy was barely bloated from the massive sandwich he was consuming. Josh grinned a bit as Aidan held him still by his waist. He liked when Aidan did this.
"Finish up, then come to the bedroom, okay? I want you to be comfortable." Aidan whispered. Josh nodded and did just so.
Once in the room he sighed. Walking up the flight of stairs was alot after that meal. He waited to be told what to do. That was another part he liked.
"Up on the bed, please." Aidan gently asked of his boyfriend. He was in the bathroom, passing time buy wiping down the mirror. Josh did so willingly. "Good boy." Aidan took off his own top. "Get the towel and lay it out." Josh grabbed a large black towel and laid it underneath himself, to catch any blood that dripped down. It never ran that much, but eh. It was better to be safe than sorry.
Aidan put on some cologne and climbed up with Josh.
An Ol' faithful scent. Vanilla, Nutmeg, Cardamom. Note of Pepper and Suede. He couldn't remember the name of it off the top of his head and the bottle didnt have it printed on. It was cheap, and didn't last for a long time but, Oh. My. God. Josh ate that UP when it was on him. He thought it melded perfectly with his natural scent, he loved it. It was to keep him busy after all, while Aidan drank. He didn't like being still.
"..you smell good." He cooed, crawling up into Aidan's lap, facing him. He cautiously lowered his head into the crook of Aidan's neck -where he had sprayed- and inhaled deeply through his nose and out his mouth. Aidan got the shivers. He could smell the salty meat and mozzarella cheese on his breath. It smelt delicious. Aidan wished he could eat again. Now food just tasted like dirt. But we was about to get what he craved. His mouth watered. He growled a warning of hunger into Josh's ear.
"Sorry.." he looked down and met Aidan eyes. He fiddled with his hands a bit.
"Its alright, that's why I put it on. Just try to stay focused." Aidan handed Josh something he had picked up on a whim when they first started doing this. Josh needed to stay absolutely still while Aidan was drinking. If he jerked or moved, Aidan could seriously hurt him.
A Fidget Tangle. A plastic object that looked like a baby toy. Funny shaped and usually multicolored, but Josh had rubbed almost all of it away. It could never be untangled, hints the name. It ticked and clicked as Josh tried to move it. He loved this thing. Aidan couldn't feed on him without it.
Aidan took out a strip of silk cloth and began tying it around Josh's eyes.
"..can we..." Josh started, stopping the tying process.
"Hm?" Aidan cocked his head to the side.
"Could we, maybe, do something different?" Josh asked.
"Different?"
"Mhm." He mumbled shyly.
Aidan grinned. "Sure, what were you thinking?" He looked down at the werewolf who was putty in his hands. He sighed contently. Josh was finding his voice. He remembered a time when Josh would bite his tongue when Aidan asked if he was in pain. The last couple times, Josh was getting better at telling him when things hurt or when he got dizzy. Now he was making requests all by himself.
Aidan softly rubbed Josh's arms as he spoke. "No blindfold. I wanna see your eyes."
Aidan sighed. "Are you sure you want that?" He never really thought if Josh wanted it or not. His black eyes reminded him of the day Bishop turned him, after the war was over. It was terrifying. A horrible man commanding him, and he did. He didn't want Josh to know that kind of fear. So he always covered his eyes.
"I'm sure." He smiled.
Aidan was silent momentarily, then said, "Why do you want to see them?"
Josh thought. "Because,"
One of Aidan brows raised. "Is that all?"
"No," Josh started. "Because they are apart of you," he stroked Aidan's cheek then laughed when he made a face that said, "Yeah, yeah, whatever." and looked off to the corner of the room.
"Because, I love you. How about that?" Aidan smiled then shrugged. A bluff. Josh giggled. "Do you want it or no-"
"Okay! Okay.. No blindfold." He laid it on the night table. Josh smiled.
The two of them nuzzled and kisses over and over. Pasting on on each other's favorite spots. Aidan neck, chest, and cheeks, Josh's eyelids, jawline and hands. Both of their lips and the skin right under the earlobe. Aidan sometimes clearing his throat trying to soothe the burn. But the foreplay was necessary to warm the skin. He was almost in a daze, he softly painted for air.
"Sorry.. le- Let me catch my breath."
He was hungry. Really hungry. Josh took his boyfriends hand. "I'm ready." Just like that Aidan laid him back on his back, his stomach gurgled from digestion, they both chuckled, and Aidan began pressing kisses to his throat. Josh clicked and ticked the tangle with one hand keeping the other still, to not disturb Aidan.
"Okay, I've found a spot, are you ready?" The vampire asked, Josh whispered "Yes." And stifled a breath.
"Deep breath in," he asked. Josh did. "And out." Josh did, and groaned halfway through. Aidan bit as he was breathing out, like usual. That helped with the pain. He tried keeping his breathing even and still, His left arm, aidan pressed into the mattress at the wrist at a 90° angle. Josh felt like he was imitating a cactus. His other arm resting to his side where Aidan's hand grasped his right ribcage for support. Josh closed his eyes and listened to the swishing and gulping that screamed into his left ear especially. The familiar hot stingy feeling of the bite. Aidan breath on his neck.
He hummed something, hmmm hmmm, hm hm hm. hmmm, hmm, hm hm hm. Then whispered. "My love, mine all mine, I love, my, my, my." He felt Aidan sigh, and he smiled to himself.
After some time he was sufficiently satisfied. He pulled off Josh and lapped at the wound. His saliva healing him over. Josh was smiling with his eyes stilled closed before he opened them to Aidan staring cautiously down at him, his eyes solid black. Josh reached up and stroked his cheek. Aidan leaned twords his hand, closing his eyes as he sighed, then opening them back up again.
"Pretty." Josh whispered.
"You think so?" He asked.
"I know so." He replied.
Aidan laid down with his partner and wrapped him up in a blanket to stay warm. Josh purred into his chest. "Tell me a story," he begged.
"What kind of story?"
"One you lived through."
"That's a couple hundred years of story's dear."
"Tell me about Greece." He clarifying tiredsomely.
"I've never been to Greece.." He chuckled. Josh mumbled something else before falling asleep. Aidan finished the song, "Nothing in the word belongs to me but my love, Mine, all mine, all mine, all mine."

➢ Description : A Q&A video with Y/R/N and Aidan Ghallagher.
➢ Word Count : 1,750
➢ Links : Masterlist && Character Profile
➢ Note : Not gonna lie, I am uncomfortable about writing a real person 😭, well, real people in general. That's why in this fanfic, Mr. Gallagher may come off as OOC. So please don't be surprised that I focused more on the reader's chaotic energy to contrast with Mr. Gallagher's tame personality. For the record, Y/R/N means your real name. Also please comment or let me know if you want a part 2 but with your questions instead.

Q&A with The Umbrella Academy cast ft. Aidan Gallagher and Y/R/N
"Hello everyone! As promised I promised to you guys, I brought over Y/R/N who plays Number Zero of the Umbrella Academy, for today's video." Aidan Ghallagher introduced the girl beside him who wore a large cardigan and an unamused look on her face.
"Are you for real?" Y/R/N asked, not humoured by Adian’s introduction but the actor looked amused by his fellow co-star’s reaction.
"Is that all you have to say I mean? You don't have a catchphrase or introduction for your channel?" She added but the brunette actor ignored her words knowing she’s just jesting for the video.
"Anywho, we will be answering some of your questions and we will be providing our answers to the best of our abilities."
The (your hair color) actor huffs and pretends to be hurt by being ignored.
"Oh yeah, I just wanted to double check Y/R/N, are you okay with answering the questions-"
"Of course I am, if I wasn't I wouldn't be here."
"You've been in my channel for 15 seconds and your already acting like it's yours."
The actress dramatically flips her hair then bats her lashes at the camera making Aidan laugh, "It's my job to make this entertaining. I know you can't possibly handle the weight of being the only star."
The boy smiles, clearly entertained by her actions but, managed to stifle his laughter. "We might as well start with the questions before this becomes her channel."
"So the first question is from, moe-moe-kyunette, I uh, did I say that right?" Aidan looked doubtful once he said the username then looked at Y/RN to help him out.
"Ship it and clip it everyone! You've tricked him into saying the thing!" The actress laughed as she slammed her fist against the table while holding her stomach, knowing the internet user just tricked Aidan into saying a meme.
"Wait, is it something bad?"
"Not a bad thing, it's like a japanese meme, an anime meme to be exact, about an idol girl trying to be cute so she says that."
"I see," As the actor was about to resume with the video but Y/R/N stopped him, "Wait, before you start, can you do the 'moe moe kyun' meme with the hand gestures?"
Aidan shook his head whilst smiling then resumed, "Well, they asked you the most important question. Have you ever listened to my music?"
The actress stiffened, "Did my manager really agree with the questions you picked?"
"Yes, yes, she did." He looks at her with a raised brow and an amused look then gestured to the camera, "Well, we are waiting Y/R/N."
"I-" She looks away flustered, "I'm sorry but I haven't listened to your music yet- I know I promised to listen to them but have not had the time to listen to them…"
"And why is that?" The brunette crosses his arms the look still on his face.
She nervously looks down at her feet, "It's just...I haven't been able to make time yet." He gives her a knowing look then gestures to the camera, "Well, I guess we'll just have to wait and see, won't we?"
"I just, I just- I just think that we should move on now! How about I read the next question?" She then nears the monitor, and Aidan is silently laughing.
"So Aidan and Y/R/N, is it true you guys fought on set?" The girl quickly hides her face in her cardigan from the camera. " I should have never read the question voluntarily!"
The boy beside her chuckles, "But, to answer your question, we have never fought on set, some people just misinterpreted that we had a fight because she hit the back of my head."
The actress hides herself with the cardigan she wore, "Look! That's how I greet my friends. I know that's not how other conventionally greet others that's why I only did it to people I was close with."
"Let me," She takes in a deep breath, then removes the cardigan from her face. "Let me add some context to the story first, so I mistook Aidan for my friend Astrid without her wig on, and yes, I didn't notice he was wearing his costume!"
"So like, I greeted him by slapping the back of his head. He turned to me confused why I just did that and I ran away out of instinct and never explained it until he had the chance to corner me."
Aidan was laughing so hard, "I had to corner her because I didn't want our scenes to become awkward than they already were. When I found out the reasoning I just forgave her but told her that she really shouldn't have ran away."
"It was instinct okay! That was not the first thing I thought of when I processed I just hit you. It didn't help either that we weren't friends yet, so I thought my whole career was ruined at that moment." The (your hair color) actress covered the half of her face.
The boy smiled though it was his way of attempting to stop himself from laughing anymore at his fellow co-star’s flustered state. "Gajh1098 asked, what is that one trait we like about our character at the same time hate?"
Y/R/N gestures for Aidan to start first, "You can start first."
He nodded then prompted his chin on his hand, "I would have to say, I hate how Five is confident in himself to the point it comes off as arrogance. Being confident is not bad but if you have seen Y/R/N here-"
She jumped then exclaimed loudly, "What's that supposed to mean?!"
"She acts too confident on camera but we all know - especially the other casts members - that she's actually tamed. You can see on our interviews as a cast, that she's like that one cousin in the corner, that doesn't know what to say so she hides behind her other cousins."
The girl cringed, "Oh, god, you saw those memes? I was hoping you wouldn't."
"I was literally there to witness it," The actor laughed then, added on. "Anywho, Y/R/N acts confident but it doesn't come off arrogant. She knows her limits but Five doesn't because he thinks he can do everything by himself that he ends up not recognizing that he can't do everything himself."
Y/R/N nods, "Yeah that's kinda toxic in a way. It's kinda like how in group works. You lead the group and end up doing everything yourself, because you don't trust your teammates. I can see why you wouldn't trust them but, you shouldn't push yourself to the point where you crash down."
Aidan nods then gestures at the girl, "Your turn to answer the question."
"So the one trait I dislike and like about Y/N is that she's flexible with handling people. She is very understanding, too understanding! She knows how to interact with them very well. It's a good trait in hindsight - especially in work places - but, it's not a good trait if you become so malleable that people take advantage of it."
The actor nodded along agreeing with her words.
The actress then abruptly sat up shouting, "MY TURN! I wanna read the next question! Oh yeah, do we have to mention the usernames? Or are you going to show them on screen?"
"I usually mention them because I feel like it makes them happy-"
"Well too bad! I'm going to make their day miserable." Y/R/N cheekily grinned. "This person asked why I always hide behind other people or hold onto their clothes like a child… Can we skip this?"
The boy chuckled, "No."
"Seriously, I feel like you and my manager are trying to humiliate me for the video.” She muttered under her breath, narrowing her eyes at Aidan suspiciously, “Anyways, I'm still getting used to cameras and it's kinda instinctual for me to do that I suppose? I'm not used to cameras since I have been used to working with microphones being a voice actor first and foremost."
His hazel's eyes light up, "Oh yeah, I recall you saying you were a VA, why did you audition for the show to begin with?"
The actress scratched her nape with a wry smile, "I thought it was a voice acting job not acting. I didn't even know until I was picked that it was an acting job. I scrambled to research on acting and kept asking the others if they could give me advice on acting."
He face palmed, smiling, "Did you not read what you were screening for?"
"To be fair, it was my manager who read it out loud, I just butted in and just said yes mindlessly because I saw the character designs and thought they were cool, I'm referring to the comics by the way."
"Next question from is from wbip8581, they asked how we become close?" The brunette male read the question outloud.
"Since Aidan and I got a lot of scenes together, I asked if we could work on them - like rehearse with each other so he could give me pointers on how to deliver my character."
"We hung out but, it was more on watching reality TV shows to examine and decipher how an angry person acts or how someone similar to Y/N acts." He added onto the girl’s explanation to which she nodded along.
"I think because of him, I got into watching Hell's kitchen," Both the actress and actor laughed at how true the statement was.
The brunette male then decided to move, "For now, this is the last question since I know the video is probably going to be long with how much Y/R/N rambles-"
"HEY!" The girl pretended to look offended by putting a hand over her heart.
Aidan chuckled, "So, the last question is from Immpotato10, do you two plan to make more videos together? Assuming that the Q&A does well."
"That depends really… although I like talking to Mr. Gallagher." She says his last name mockingly which made him roll his eyes, "I don't wanna overstay my time here in his channel, and if he has good video ideas then I will probably reconsider."
“Well, I suppose that’s goodbye for now!” Aidan bid his farewell to his audience followed by Y/R/N waving her two hands at the camera like a child.

astra inclinant, sed non obligant - Lore Lodge Fanfic, Ch. 1
I’m posting the first chapter on here for everyone to see, and the rest will be posted on my AO3 account.
Link to fanfic: https://archiveofourown.org/works/48781300/chapters/123056350
Something dark bided its time in the shadows.  It blended into passing laughter and conversation; it filtered through a cool spring breeze.  It waited, and waited, and waited.
Then, finally, when the time was just right…
***
It wasn’t Mattis’s worst idea.  Well, maybe it was, but Thornbury had already agreed to go and he couldn’t back out now.  But no, that wasn’t entirely true, either.  He could find some excuse to get out of it, probably.  Feign work or an illness or something equally unpleasant.
Would that make him a bad friend, though?  He didn’t know.
“All this for a missing persons case?” Thornbury said into his cell phone.
“I really think we can crack this one. Honestly,” the voice on the other end replied.
Thornbury was doubtful, but he couldn’t seem to dissuade his friend from going through with this. Try as he might, Mattis was determined beyond any sense of reason that he could understand.
“This source of yours, can we really trust her?”
Mattis’s “source” was some woman that was supposedly an expert in the field. They were scheduled to meet up with her at a coffee shop in town, actually, which was where Thornbury was currently headed to.
“She’s the real thing,” Mattis assured him. “She knows, like, everything about this cult.”
Somehow, that did not make him feel much better.
“We’re gonna end up dead going on one of these little quests of yours, you know,” Thornbury sighed. “Our luck will eventually run out.”
“It’s a good thing I’m not counting on luck for this, then,” Mattis replied, far too confident for Thornbury’s liking.
He’d long ago resigned himself to the possibility of dying on the job, so to speak. But he’d always figured it’d be at the hands of some cosmic-horror-level monster, not a cult of backwoods hillbillies, or whatever these people were.
“I still don’t think this is a good idea,” Thornbury told his friend. “If something goes wrong—“
“It won’t,” Mattis insisted. “We just get in, get the information we need, and get out.”
Thornbury didn’t think it would be that simple, but there was no use in arguing. Mattis had made up his mind, and nothing could change it now. They were headed toward something stupid at best and fatal at worst, and Thornbury only agreed to go because he didn’t want his friend to end up as a blood sacrifice to summon a demon, or something equally as horrific.
After saying goodbye to his friend and ending the call, Thornbury turned down the street the café was on. Overhead, previously blue and sunny skies turned a saddened shade of gray. By the time he parked his car and stepped out onto the pavement, it was already drizzling rain.
He pushed open the glass door and stepped into the small coffee shop, which was considerably warmer than the falling temperature outside. It was a surprisingly crisp and cool day for springtime, but then again, it was only April.
As Thornbury scanned the patrons for any sign of his friend and the “expert on cults” that they were about to meet in person for the first time, the sky outside darkened from gray to black and a torrent of rain splashed down all at once. Thornbury didn’t see any sign of Mattis in the establishment, but a woman near the back of the room waved him over.
According to Mattis, the woman they were meeting was named Violet and was an ex-member of the cult they were attempting to infiltrate. From the work-official photo Mattis had shown him earlier that week, Violet had long brown hair and dark blue eyes.
The woman waving at him seemed to match that description pretty well, so he sauntered over.
“You must be Aidan Thornbury,” she said with a smile as he approached the table.
“I am,” he confirmed. “And you must be Violet,” he said, shaking her hand.
“Indeed I am,” she said, still giving him a friendly smile.
He took a seat across from her and mentioned how Mattis must’ve been running late. They made small talk for a few minutes, during which time Thornbury spent trying to deduce how old Violet was.
If he had to take a guess, he’d say between twenty-five and thirty-five. Her smooth skin and elegant yet appealing outfit suggested that she was on the younger end of that scale, but her posture and overall demeanor so far pointed toward the opposite being true.
She was wearing a white jumpsuit with a tan raincoat draped over her shoulders like a cape. She had makeup on, but it was subtle enough to pass as natural. She was pretty, undeniably so.
Eventually, Mattis wandered in. He clearly got caught in the downpour, and Thornbury noticed how Violet had to stifle a laugh as she greeted him.
“My jeep broke down,” Mattis huffed, wiping water off of his face. “I had to park outside of town and walk the rest of the way here.”
Thornbury couldn’t help the smug expression that overtook his face. “Now if that isn’t a sign that this is a bad idea, I don’t know what is.”
Mattis ignored his comment and plopped down in the seat next to him. Meanwhile, Violet offered to buy them all a coffee.
“I don’t wanna hear it,” Mattis said preemptively, as soon as Violet was out of earshot. “The last twenty minutes have not been pleasant for me.”
Thornbury still couldn’t help his smirk. “Oh, I’m sure they haven’t been. Though, I do feel like there’s some way all of this could’ve been avoided…”
“Listen here, you little—“
Mattis cut himself off when Violet glanced over from the line she was standing in to wave at both of them. He waved back, looking a little sheepish, and in return she winked at him.
Thornbury low-whistled. “Well, now. This whole cult thing might be a bust, but you might’ve just gotten yourself a girlfriend.”
Mattis glared at him. “Shut up. I am not in the mood right now.”
“I suppose not,” Thornbury agreed. “Though she could probably help with that—“
A swift elbow to the ribs was enough for Thornbury to get the picture. Well, at least for now. The teasing would come later.
“Everything okay over here, boys?” Violet asked, returning with their drinks.
Thornbury said, “Everything’s great”. At the same time, Mattis said, “Just peachy.”
“Awesome, because we have a lot to discuss, starting with your cover stories.”

If you were to have the experience of being a character, even if it's for a day or as far as the book/movie/show goes, what character would you pick?
Oh, uhhhh... I feel like this question would be hard for me to choose a singular character. I would need someone to limit me to one fandom or spin a wheel with a list of them because I like so many things. It is hard to narrow down to just one particular thing. AasSDFjdjslj! Fuck it — I'll do all three!
Book: Darren Shan from the saga “Cirque Du Freak” I read this series as a kid and, even to this day, I think walking through Darren’s shoes would be an adventure! It’s not surprising that I’m choosing a book about vampires, huh?  Movie: Michael from The Lost Boys (1987) I've thought about this one in the past, actually. Even considered deep-diving into a full-on "help, I have fallen into the TLB universe and woke up as a canon character - of fuck - oh shit - whatta' do now!?" fanfic. Wait... yea, I did post something up about this. It can be read here. (re-reading my post, it needs a little tweaking but the overall thought would be the same) Show: Being Human (UK or US version)  I’m just a sucker for the whole supernatural world mingling in with our average one. I’m not sure which character I’d choose, though. I’m tied between John Mitchell (UK) |  Aidan Waite (US) the main vampire character of the series. Or as  Annie Sawyer (UK) |  Lucy Jaggat (US) the main ghost of the series. And, if not Being Human, I’d probably choose Supernatural for the exact same reason.
Thank you for asking, Anon dude! I hope my answers were, at the very least, entertaining XDD

Author: locke-writes
Title: Sacrifice The Soul
Plot: Soulmate AU based on There’s Always A Tomorrow from Dracula the Musical.
Rating: T
Word Count: 3,079
Warning: Major Character Death.
AN: It’s immensely angsty but I promise you it has a happy ending
Monsters didn't have soulmates. For how could you have a soulmate without a soul?
Aidan had believed he would only ever have on soulmate, his wife. The first words she had said to him were on his arm from his birth and his first words to her marked her the same. Soulmates from birth, bound to one another. Entwined by fate.
When Aidan was turned he understood that one day she would die and he'd walk the Earth with the soul mark gone from his arm. Soul marks disappeared once your soulmate had died, he assumed his mark on her had already gone.
And one day he did wake up without the mark, and then one day he did wake up with a brand new mark, and then one day he found her.
It was his wife, but it wasn't. There was an entirely new person with that same soul, some connection that he had.
Monsters didn't have soulmates as monsters didn't have souls. Aidan Waite seemed to be the exception.
This went on and on for years. Aidan would constantly try to understand it, try to find the reason behind the reincarnation. There's was never any stories, never any articles, never any legends told of reincarnated soulmates finding one another in different forms. As it seemed, Aidan was the only person in the world who had the same soul bound to him in every life.
In every life Aidan was the same person. His name would change but his soul, or his lack of one, would never change. The physical form for his soulmate would change in every life. The soul changed in no logical way, there was never a pattern to the reincarnation. Aidan had been with this same soul as men, women, every identity under the sun. Identity didn't matter, only the soul did.
And by far his favorite version of the soul, was you.
Every time you were reincarnated Aidan had to wait to find you. Sometimes he found you when you were vacationing, sometimes on business trips. He'd once even found you while you were on a date with someone else.
Aidan wished he could say that he always found you. However that wasn't the truth.
There had been times where he'd wake up with a new soul mark after searching for you, the knowledge that he hadn't found you stung, but he understood. Soul marks were made for the person who had it to read. It was always in their native of preferred language. This meant that sometimes Aidan didn't know if you were just some city farther from where he might be living or if you were in another country.
When Aidan failed to find you, he hoped that you weren't still seeking him.
He hoped wherever you were, that you were happy. These were terrible years, years of waiting, years of wondering where he might find you. Years of waking up in the morning and looking at his arm to see if the words were still there or if they had changed or disappeared in the night. Aidan always felt the sting of heartache when he did find that to be the case.
Perhaps that was why you were Aidan's favorite of all reincarnations. Perhaps it was because for once the two of you were in the same city.
Or maybe it was because for once you knew and accepted the truth about who he really was.
It was a thing that Aidan vowed to keep secret. Some versions of you found out and some remained oblivious. He preferred oblivious as it didn't come with the added pain of you leaving.
He'd never anticipated you finding out, he probably should have been more careful though. After all drinking a blood bag in the kitchen when you've spent the night is riskier then waiting for you to have left. But he was hungry and couldn't help it so when you caught him he froze.
You questioned it, thought he was joking at first, but Josh't confirmation that Aidan was really being truthful solidified it. That and the added fact that Josh revealed he was a werewolf and there was a ghost named Sally also living in the apartment. A few questions later and you felt calm enough to reevaluate the fact that Aidan was a vampire.
The decision made was easy. He may have been a vampire but he was your soulmate regardless. You were more a believer of free will than fate but even you wouldn't dare argue with your soul mark. He was the man you were in love with. Vampire or not there was no way you would give up a future with him.
A little bit of blood drinking was something that you could learn to live with.
So maybe it was being in the same city, maybe it was you accepting that he was a vampire and not running away, maybe it was the year you were living in, maybe it was a lot of things, but Aidan knew that you were it. There was never going to be anyone better than you. He'd decided and he didn't want to be around longer to find out that he was wrong.
Aidan Waite loved you and Aidan Waite wanted to die for your happiness.
How does one go about wanting their significant other to kill them? It was a hard topic of conversation to breach. Aidan knew that you wouldn't take it well. He'd planned an argument out, it might be used or it might be tossed aside in favor of words from the heart. There was no going back, Aidan knew this had to happen. Whether or not you would agree was something else.
He took you for a walk around the city.
You knew something was wrong yet you couldn't bring yourself to ask him about it, sensing that there was something he needed to say.
"I want you to kill me" he spoke, breaking the silence and laying it all on the line.
You laughed assuming it was a joke, "You're already dead Aidan. Can't do any more than that"
"You know what I mean."
"Aidan. No. I…you can't be serious right now. I won't do that. Why? Why me?"
"I want to die. I've decided. I can't keep going on. I've lived many lives, many years and I don't want to go on anymore. You know the truth about us, you know how many times I've found you and you know about the times I haven't. I can't go through that again, you're it. You're the best of all of them, you're the only person I would ask to do this"
"Well ask someone else because I won't do it Aidan. I couldn't do it Aidan. I can't lose you."
The two of you stopped walking as Aidan turned you towards him to kiss you.
"And I can't lose you. That's what you aren't understanding. I don't want to go through the heartache again. I've loved every version of you and I've lost every version of you. Some have died young, some have died old, some I've never met, but each time I've had to watch you die and then go on waiting to find you again. I won't do that again, sit by and watch you grow old, wishing for another life that I can't give you, wishing that you were young again or resenting me for never aging. I won't turn you into one of me, there's been you's that have asked that before. I'd rather give up life now to give you a better future than you have what if's down the line."
"Aidan," you whispered softly.
"Trust me, I know it's a lot to ask. I know that it's going to be a difficult decision. So think about it, please."
"I will, I'll think about it."
And you did.
And you were going to do it.
As much as you hated it, the entire idea, you knew that Aidan was right. You knew he'd met past versions of yourself and continually had to deal with the pain of loss. You knew he'd never want to go through that again and you wouldn't want that for him.
So that's what you'd told him.
"I'll do it Aidan, but you have to give me a day. One full day beforehand. I want something to remember you by and if that's not something physical then it needs to be a memory so please, one day. That's all I ask."
And that's what he gave to you.
It began early in the morning, the two of you getting ready before heading out to have breakfast at a coffee shop in the city.
Aidan said goodbye to Josh, Sally, and Nora for the last time.
You sat there in that coffee shop eating a pastry and smiling at Aidan all the while your heart was aching at what was to come. At the end of the day he was going to go to die and you would be going home alone.
Breakfast was the start, you'd headed to a movie afterwards. One last movie date with Aidan, it was hard to think on. It was like that throughout the day, it was always in the back of your head, from wandering around the city, to going shopping, to ending up at a museum with Aidan trying to make you laugh by telling you the real historical truths of certain exhibits.
You were going to miss him.
After dinner you'd set out to a hill on the outskirts of the city to watch the sunset. You'd been carrying a stake around with you for the entire day. Honestly you were surprised no one noticed. Now that it was time to drive that stake into Aidan's heart you hated the fact that you had even agreed.
But you had agreed and you were going to do it.
The two of you were sitting on the ground and as the sun set you turned to face Aidan.
"Don't make me do this"
"You must. You're the only one who can. I can't go on knowing that I'll lose you once again."
"I can't lose you Aidan"
"And I can't live knowing that I'll lose you again, I don't want to put you through that pain. And I'm certainly not going to bring you into the world of the vampire. I love you. That's why I'm asking you to do this."
"I don't want to do this."
"I know. But I wouldn't ask you to do it if I thought this would lead to regret. Ok?"
"Ok. Just. Before I do this, Aidan, kiss me one last time"
He did as requested, leaning forward, pressing his lips to yours, and with that last kiss you plunged the stake into him.
You laughed the ashes on that hill and made your way home. You didn't care about anyone staring at you crying while walking home, you didn't care about anything anymore now that Aidan was gone. You felt a sting on your arm and you didn't bother to look, knowing that the soul mark had disappeared. Aidan had always told you about the mornings where another would appear but that was for him, not for you. He was immortal, would have lived forever had you refused what you had just done, you were were not, there was no sense of reincarnation for you.
Josh and Nora were waiting on the couch when you came home. Alone.
They pulled you into a hug and watched as you went up to the room that you shared with Aidan. Once shared.
Alone.
Once you had been two and now.
You were alone.
Aidan awoke with a start. He knew what had happened, that he had died. That much he knew, but the rest was a mystery. Ghosts had doors to the afterlife, at least that's what Sally had, yet Aidan didn't remember a door appearing before him. All he remembered was the stake and then being here. Wherever here was.
It wasn't white vastness like he had seen in movies, it wasn't nothing like he had believed. It was a forest, and a lake. A cabin on the waterfront, the interior designed like a mixture of skyline apartment and suburban home. It felt, familiar but he knew he had never been there before, knew he'd never seen this place.
Wherever he was Aidan was alone. All alone.
There was no one around, animals but never people. It seemed odd though, this afterlife. Any desire he had in his head could appear but never people. Any companion he wished for, those who he knew had passed, would never show. Aidan was only with wishes and thoughts.
It had taken you a few months of grieving to feel as though you were ready to move on. Aidan had told you that he wished you to move on. That he knew there was a life ahead of you not burdened by someone who would live forever. He was always in the back of your mind, you knew that it was fine to grieve him, you knew that it was fine to think of him, but you had to stop letting him control your life in the way that he was.
You saw him everywhere, every place in the city reminded you of him in some way. They weren't bad memories but they were painful. They hurt because he was no longer there to share new memories with.
Eventually you decided you wanted out of the city and found a job opportunity elsewhere. Across the country elsewhere. Being away from every place Aidan had been would make the wound less fresh. Time hadn't caused the grief to ease but you thought perhaps distance would. Josh, Nora, and Sally were immensely supportive even coming with you to find a new apartment and to move you in when it came time.
In that new state, in that new city you finally started to heal. You'd always heard about support groups for those with deceased soulmates but it never occurred to you to go until someone had mentioned a friend who had been. If it helped then it helped and if it didn't it didn't was your reasoning.
The first few meetings you'd gone to you sat and listened. Everyone had different stories and different ways of grieving but the shared emotions made you feel not so alone in everything. And on your fourth meeting you finally told your story. Leaving out the fact that Aidan was a vampire and asked you to kill him it was nice to air everything out, to talk to people who didn't know him and talk to people who understood what you were going through. Most people just told you they were sorry but these people could tell you advice and you knew it was sincere.
As time passed you began to make new friends, some from work, some from the support group, and some from elsewhere. As time passed you began to put Aidan at the back of your mind. As time passed you began to fall in love again.
You'd met him through a friend at the support group. He used to go to meetings but like some of the members felt that eventually he was ready to deal on his own. Meetings were always there if it helped but there wasn't that need to go to each one.
It was a blind date and while you were skeptical at first you found that it wasn't as bad as you had built it up in your mind to be. He knew you were always going to love your soulmate and you knew he was always going to love his own soulmate. Souls entwined will never part. However that never meant that you couldn't fall in love with someone else.
Ten months was how long it took for you to tell him you loved him and for him to do the same.
A year and half was how long it took before the two of you moved in together.
Three years was how long it took before the two of you were married.
And you were happy.
And you were in love.
And you still loved Aidan. You always would.
You remained happily married for many years. It never really crossed your mind what would happen when you died and so it was a shock and a joy to find out what happened when you did.
One moment you were asleep.
The next moment. You were awake.
It was a forest, one with a lake and cabin on the water. A cabin that you recognized in an instant. There was no one around. No sound other than birds in the trees and the movement of the water, no voices, simply nature.
Aidan was reading in the cabin when he heard footsteps outside. It startled him as the sound was footsteps but he had asked for a companion for years without one appearing. He feared something had gone wrong but as he approached the doorway he found himself wrong. Very incredibly wrong.
For there in the middle of everything, was you.
He called your name and watched as your eyes fell on him. The two of you stood for a moment staring in disbelief before making your way to one another.
"I've missed you, I don't even know how long it's been but I've missed you each and every day"
"I've missed you to Aidan. I've thought about you always"
"I'd welcome you to this afterlife, this home I suppose, but I don't know what home this is."
You laughed, "Aidan, you're telling me you don't remember any of this"
"I don't, I'm guessing maybe I should though," he grinned.
"This cabin, this lake, all of this is our dream Aidan. Remember that morning, so long ago now, but we were laying in bed just talking about the future. We were talking about our future and where we'd like to live, what style of home and it all came together. A mix of everything you loved and everything I loved. A home for the both of us."
As you spoke he began to remember the morning in question, you lying there with your head on his chest, early morning sunlight creeping through the window, talking about nothing and everything.
"Well then. Welcome home."

Normally while at work, Aidan speed walked with a crooked smile and socialized with coworkers. Josh watched over him with a proud look in his eye as he gathered cleaning supplies and if Aidan saw him, he blushed and hurried back to work.
But for the last week Aidan has been acting sluggish. Shuffling around and staying in his room more often. He looked pale, paler than normal. His honey brown eyes flickered to pure black when he heaved patents off the stretcher.
The final straw was today when Josh found him slumped in a chair in the break room. Sweat running down his temples, panting and flinching as he felt his eyes changing, his hand clapped over them so nobody would see if they walked it.
“Aidan?” Josh asked, slightly panicked. He stifled a grunt in return. “Aidan. Look at me.” The vampire obeyed begrudgingly. “Are you-”
“I'm not sick.”
Josh's eyes widened. “Do not interrupt me.” 18+ years with Emily as a sister had made him HATE being interrupted.
Aidan gritted his teeth and cringed in his seat. “sorry..”
Josh raised an eyebrow. “You're lucky we're at work.”
Aidan looked down and nodded weakly. His hairline was soaked at this point.
“Tell me how you feel.” Josh's mouth was a fine line. Aidan was silent. “Tell. Me.” Josh growled harshly.
“Ok! Ok! Bad!”
“What do you mean, ‘bad?’”
“Bad, Josh. My head hurts.. I'm hungry.”
Josh gripped Aidan's chin and made him look up at him since he wouldn't while he sat. “You've been doing this for a week. Saying you're not hungry then trudging around like-” Josh waved his hand up and down at Aidan. “-this!” He stomped off and closed the break room door for the next part of this conversation.
Aidan looked off to the side, knowing his werewolf partner was right.
“I know you don't wanna hear this but I'm calling Bishop. Dont talk me out of it again.” He held out his hand for Aidan's phone. Aidan sighed. “do we hav-”
“Yes. We do.” Josh growled again.
Aidan sighed and pressed the phone icon, then the contact labeled, “Lt. James Bishop.” and handed it to Josh. A cover for if someone found his phone. A nurse should have the cops on speed dial, right? Right..
Aidan's breathing accelerated. He knew he needed to feed and the last time Josh tried, it was awful, that only left the Blood Den. He shuddered at the thought but knew it would be better than nothing.
Bishop made him nervous. At first he felt like a mentor. He saved Aidan's life after all, but in the last decade.. he's gotten manipulative. The only way he would back off was if Josh was with him.
“Aidan needs a stall in your hooker house.” He opened with.
“Blood Den!!” Aidan corrected loudly, very embarrassed.
“Same thing.” Josh replied pessimistically.
Aidan shook his head, puffing, and covered his beet red face.
While on the phone Josh rolled his eyes a couple times and skipped the unnecessary small talk.
‘How's he doing?’
‘Is he coming back?’
Barf.
“That guy's horrible.” He hung up on Bishop and said. Aidan nodded.
“He's gonna keep a stall open for you for the entire week, he said to come in when you're ready.” Josh handed Aidan his phone back.
“I hate drinking live..” he mumbled.
“Don't mumble, hun.” Josh corrected and looked down at his lover.
“I don't like feeding live.” He repeated louder but kept his head down. Running his hands through his hair.
Josh sighed and crouched down at him. “I know, and I would never make you do this, but it's kind of a have-to case, Aidan.”
Aidan was silent.
“I hope you understand.”
After a moment and a peck on the lips, Aidan nodded.
“We should get you home.” Josh looked his partner in the eyes, flickering black to brown, black to brown. Aidan squeezed them shut and rubbed the lids. Finally resorting to sliding down his sunglasses and looking like an idiot inside the hospital.
While they changed out of their scrubs in the locker room a new nurse practitioner was changing into his own. Aidan caught a draft of his cologne and felt immediately overwhelmed. Cedarwood and black tea. Moss, Rain Water, Tobacco, and Sea salt. He smelt like a bookstore. He smelt like an overgrown Meadow. The rhythmic thumping of his heart called to Aidan. The sound of his breathing and the sugary sweet waffle and coffee on his lips made the vampire's mouth water. Aidan could imagine his thin frame standing relaxed against a doorway, wearing a white button down shirt and black pants, holding a black leather belt.
He let out a small whimper.
“Aidan..” Josh put a hand on his partner. His eyes jolted open and he realized what had just done. He turned tomato red and covered his mouth and nose with a hoodie sleeve. “Sorry..” he mumbled. “It's the bloodlust.”
“We’ll get you some blood, soon.” Josh wrapped an arm around Aidan's waist and walked with him back to their car. Aidan leaned his head against Josh and kept his mind to himself for the most part.
The car ride was hazy. Aidan had started shaking by the time they arrived. When Josh parked the car Marcus was standing by the door. Aidan limped out of the car and got about a foot before he retched on the dirt road leading to the Blood Den. Marcus rushed over, Aidan was in no mood to bicker with his brother of sorts so he allowed Marcus to guide him inside. Josh following, glaring daggers at anyone who looked at his boyfriend too long.
Werewolves in the blood den are usually prohibited, but, This is Aidan Waite's boyfriend and everybody knows Aidan is Bishop's favorite.
Josh watched as he stumbled into a stall with two women. He knew they would be all over him. He clenched his teeth. He wanted Aidan all to himself. He was glad he gave him a good rough make-out beforehand, (Marked his territory, -or well- Property, so to speak,) but that just got him in the mood.
He stood around in the lounge, everything red. The couches, carpet, tile, lights. The only thing not red were the black undergarments the girls wore as they gawked at him. Josh didnt need to look at anyone but Aidan.
He wiped a bit of dust from the countertop as a bloodied up girl counted the cash in her tip pouch. Shee looked worried. She counted once, then twice, then sighed, put it away. He thought she was done until she got her money out again and counted it once more. $56.75 Josh heard her count it four- oh, nope, five times.
“Shoot..” she muttered. Fifty six dollars is quite a bit for one night.. He thought. He wondered how much she would have wanted to make, then he heard Aidan moan a bit too loud for his liking. So did she apparently. So she looked over to him and smiled. She must have only then realized how exposed she was. She looked at herself nervously. Josh took off his jacket and handed it to her, looking away while she put it on.
It swallowed her tiny frame. You couldn't really tell if she was wearing shorts or not but it was the point that it made her more comfortable that Josh wanted to make. “Thank you sir.. I can give it back-”
“No, don't bother. I have a ton.” Secretly he just didn't want it because now it had blood all inside it.
She and he made small talk as Aidan filled up. Josh wanted him to feel better. And once the curtain opened and he stumbled out Josh felt more at ease. He could tell he felt better already because he was swatting Marcus away as he tried to lead him to the showers.
After Aidan's shower, he came back out with soggy hair, a new white tank top, and gray sweatpants. They looked good on his chest and legs. He scanned the room for Josh and when he met his gaze, he sighed and smiled, walking forward. Josh greeted him with open hands, taking Aidan's into his own. Aidan giggled quietly as he felt Josh's pulse touch his cool palms. The comfortable rhythm that drove him to be.
“Did you get full?” Josh asked as they headed for the door. Aidan nodded, swinging their interlaced hands innocently. Josh grinned. "Good. I'm glad."
After they got home, Aidan strolled up to their bedroom. He wanted to brush his teeth and clean his nails better than he could at the Blood Den.
“Hurry up! You're mine in ten minutes!” Josh called from downstairs. Aidan smiled and giggled to himself. He scrubbed his teeth and used Listerine twice. His nails weren't all that dirty, -the girls today didn't put up much of a struggle- so be bought some prep time in that area.
He could hear Josh's steps clomping up the stairs and he giggled more and more. Josh smiled as he entered the bedroom, his boyfriend laid all pretty on their bed. Shirtless and in a pair of silky light blue boxers. It was perfect.
“Are you ready?” He asked gently, unbuttoning his top.
“Always for you.” He replied.
Josh smiled as Aidan sat up on his knees and helped. “You know, hearing you in that stall.. It made me kinda jealous.” He slowly pulled it off his arms.
Aidan knew then, he was in for a long one.
“You stink.”
“What stink?” Aidan asked.
“Cheap perfume and Xanax.” Josh said bluntly. He knew the smell from going with his sister to strip clubs before he met Aidan. “I'm going to make you smell like me again.”
Aidan grinned as Josh crawled up onto the bed and pinned him down by the wrists. Their lips intertwined, slipping with saliva. Aidan sighing and swearing with pleasure. Josh growing rougher and rougher by the second. Gripping Aidan's throat from behind just make things 10x worse.. or better, depends on how you look at it.
At the end of it, they were sweating and panting. The comforter all bunched and the pillows on the floor. Aidan hummed out for Josh. And he gripped his boyfriend in return. But Josh was a man of his word. Now Aidan smelled of Werewolf.
The Scent of Love.

Full Moon Food

“For the records, this is so not a good idea.” Josh said, raising the cooking whisk in his hands. “It will work.” “I sincerely don’t know how it could.” “Just go back to the kitchen and finish whatever you are doing. What is it anyway?” Aidan asked eagerly. “I made a risotto, some lasagnas, a chili con carne, some fish in papillote with vegetables and a quiche.”
Sally and Aidan stared at him with a blank expression.
“I got nervous, okay? I didn’t know what he could like.” Josh defended himself. “And did you have time to make that awesome cake you made me last month, by any chance?” Aidan asked.
Josh looked a little shy.
“I’ll add the icing it in a minute.” He admitted.
Aidan thanked him and assured him it was a good idea for the tenth time in a hour. His mouth watered at the thought of the desert and he jumped and fisted his hand in the air when Josh went back to the kitchen and only Sally was left to see him. It made her laugh even if she was jealous to not be part of the feast.
The doorbell rang and they all tensed for a second. Aidan breathed to relax and pleaded the two other to do the same as he put a smile on his face and aimed for the door. He opened it and greeted his maker, inviting him in.
Bishop entered the house, a suspicious glare on his face. He was still wearing his police uniform. As he followed Aidan in the living room, he inspected around him, more mistrustful as the minutes passed. Aidan and the ghost had smiles on their faces too bright to be true. The werewolf was too nervous to exit the kitchen and welcomed him from afar.
Aidan tried to engage a pleasant conversation, as casual as he could. His maker scrutinized him without a world.
“So, Bishop… Did you have a good day?” “I was home all day.” Sally nervously laughed. “Like most of the time. A real housewife, can you believe that?” “Why am I here?” The oldest vampire asked. “We thought, it could be nice if…” “Aidan, don’t make me lose my time. It’s rude.” Bishop warned in a growl. “A truce.” Aidan flinched. “We want to discuss a truce.” “Is that so?” Bishop smiled, seating on a couch. He laid his arm on the backrest and gestured Aidan to sit too on a armchair, like if he was the one owning the place.
At least, he was disposed to listen to them.
“You see, this situation can not go on like that. We can not watch above our shoulder and fear an attack of your… Men, every day. It’s exhausting. And as I already said, the hospital is my territory.”
Bishop tutted in disapproval and tilted his head to mark his point on that last statement.
“Recruitment and  paper falsification here  become to difficult to cover for Josh and I.” “We don’t need you to do that, Aidan. I never asked you for your help in that particular matter.” “But still, we have to do it and we can’t face your superiority in number…” “Precisely.” Bishop said. “So, what do you have to offer?” “It’s a little odd but we figured last month that Josh…” “Werewolves? Are you making alliances with dogs now, Aidan? You know they are not reliable.” “Hey!” Josh intervened stepping in the living room, a jar full of chocolate in hands and an apron still hanging on his hips.
He quickly regretted his interruption and forgot what he wanted to say when Bishop slowly turned his iced glare on him.
“No it’s not about any alliance with anybody.” Aidan tried to explain. “We discovered something interesting. And we thought…” Aidan turned to his friends to gather some support, finding none in a immaterial ghost and a scared cook. “At least I thought… You could be interested.” “What could you possibly have found out so exceptional for my nest and I?” “I have to insist on the fact that it can’t concern your nest but only you.” “I’m leaving.” Bishop announced as he stood up. “Wait. Maybe the most effective way would be to show you.” Aidan tried to hold Bishop back from going away. “You are wasting my time, Aidan. And you know I don’t like it.” “Do something.” Josh pleaded seeing the blond man leave.
Aidan opened his arms in a sign of incapacity. What could he do? So, Josh probably made the most foolish act of his whole life. He positioned himself between a powerful and angry deadly creature and the door and shove a finger dipped in chocolate in his mouth. The vampire’s eyes turned black on instinct, impressive fangs appearing in a flash.
Knowing Josh was a werewolf, Bishop had the reflex to not bite him immediately but what really stopped him was a strange taste on his tongue. Something he never had before. A taste of sweetness and a flavour he never experienced before. In a flash, his anger let place to surprise. His black eyes turned to blue again as Josh stayed frozen, waiting for the snap and the pain to come.
In place of what, the vampire sucked on his finger.
“What is that?” A very confused Bishop asked. “It’s chocolate.” Aidan supplied, excited like a puppy. “It’s what we tried to tell you. Last month, we discovered, totally randomness, that I could taste the food Josh gave me.” “How is it possible?” “We don’t know but for a day and a night, after the full moon, when Josh stops to turn into a werewolf, I can taste all he feeds me.” “What? How? And why don’t we knew that before?” “Maybe because vampires make a sport of slaughtering werewolves?” Josh ironically proposed, before offering the jar of chocolate to protect himself from Bishop murderous glare.
Which the vampire accepted, in front of a surprised trio. Bishop swallowed a complete spatula of unctuous chocolate, making some of it rest on his chin.
“Do you like it?” Sally asked. “I don’t know.” Bishop answered, his mouth full. “But I never tasted chocolate before.” “How sad.” She commented. “Does it work with everything?” Bishop asked, his eyes full of hope. “It’s very new for us too but we haven’t found an exception yet.” Aidan answered with a hysteric laughter. “Come with me. I cooked some things if you want to try.” Josh invited the vampire to the kitchen.
He made him sit down at the table and started to fill a plate with all he could put his hand on. Bishop started to taste all he could with eagerness.
“It doesn’t feed us. It can’t replace blood, and it won’t calm the need for blood but it’s a unique experience, I can say. Food, I didn’t realize I missed it before.”
Bishop wasn’t listening, he was eating like he was starving. He even stood up and reached for the fridge, using Josh to grab whatever he found in it, to try the different tastes.
“A real bulimic” Sally commented looking at the weird dance.
The more Josh gave him things to eat, the more Bishop seemed to crave for it. But his face was so happy and the random tastes were so overwhelming for him, he just could stop.
He had to eventually, after eating near everything the kitchen had to offer, his body reaching his limits. Bishop sprawled on the couch in the living room and hummed in happiness and contentment.
“I knew you would appreciate. I thought of you the first time I discovered i could actually taste food.” Aidan confessed.
His maker, smiled tenderly to him.
It became a regular thing. After every full moon, Bishop came to Aidan’s house and shared a meal with him, Sally and of course Josh. The cute werewolf quickly became one of Bishop most beloved person. Sally never missed a lunch either, even if she couldn’t eat, she loved to see the vampires reactions to food. Aidan developed a major sweet tooth and loved everything greasy. As for Bishop, he loved spicy food above all. Far from feeling used in this mater, Josh just loved to cook for them. They were enjoying all he could make so much, it fulfilled Josh’s old desires to be a cook.
In exchange of it, naturally, Aidan, Josh, Sally, their house and the hospital were declared off limit for any vampires in Boston by Bishop. He even went further to defend them from all potential threats, as important they all became to the King of Boston’s eyes. Bishop bonded with Sally, Josh and Aidan on that monthly rendez-vous. A real undying friendship that would never fade.

It’s been a year since you and Aidan got together. Your relationship has been anything but easy. You felt like Aidan was hiding something. Even in the beginning you felt that way but he had a charm you just couldn’t resist. Even with how rough the relationship became you still kept holding onto hope that it’ll get better. At least that’s what you thought as you sat on the couch watching Aidan pace. The two of you had the day off and he called you to come over. At first you were hesitant because of his tone but you went anyway.
You sat silently, watching him carefully. You had a bad feeling in the pit of your stomach. “There’s something I need to tell you.” He stopped pacing. You nodded as a lump formed in your throat. “Y/N, I’m a vampire that lives with a ghost and a werewolf.” He spoke running his right hand through his hair. You looked at him puzzled. “Seriously?” You asked in a frustrated tone. He sighed heavily and looked down. “I’m serious.” He said looking up again. You gasp when you see his eyes had turned black and his fangs were showing.
You got up and walked towards him. He flinched and turned his gaze away from you when he saw your hand move towards him. You gently caressed his cheek letting him know you had good intentions. He turned his gaze towards you, his features back to normal. A tear rolled down his cheek. “You’re not afraid?” He asked softly as you dropped your hand to your side. “Honestly I’m not. Aidan, I love you.” You told him as you embraced him. He relaxed into your embrace. He pulled away after a few minutes to look into your eyes.
Suddenly he leaned down and kissed you passionately on your lips. You’re not sure how long the kiss lasted before a sudden interruption occurred. “Go to your room.” Josh said from across the room. You broke the kiss by laughing.
“Welcome home.” You say once you stop laughing. “Hi.” Josh says as he walks passed the two of you and into the kitchen. Aidan just shakes his head as the two of you follow him. “I told her the truth about us.” Aidan told Josh. Suddenly Josh froze as the words sunk in. He didn’t look at you right away. “She’s cool with it.” Sally told Josh. “She’s not able to hear or see me. She knows of me though. Well she knows of a ghost. Aidan never told her my name or anything.” She continued to ramble on as Josh finally turned to face you.
“The ghost’s name is Sally and this was her place. It’s also where she died.” Josh suddenly said. “Oh.” Was all you could say. Even though you couldn’t see her, Sally looked at you in disappointment. “Seriously? That’s the reaction I get?” Sally said pouting. Josh and Aidan rolled their eyes. “I wish I could see or even sense her.” You spoke shyly. “Dude, tell her that I’m here.” Sally said cheerfully to Josh. Aidan gave her and Josh a warning look. “So, Y/N will you be staying for dinner tonight? My girlfriend Nora will also be here.” Josh asked changing the subject.
“You and Nora are finally a thing?” You ask Josh happily. “Yes, but that doesn’t answer my question.” Josh laughed. “Oh, yeah. If it’s alright.” You say looking between Josh and Aidan. They both smile and nod. “You two can go into the living room while I prepare dinner. Okay?” Josh asked politely. The two of you nodded as you both left the kitchen.
“Don’t you think you should call and tell Nora that Y/N knows everything?” Sally asked Josh once the two of you left the room. “I suppose I should.” He said running his hand through his hair. He dialed Nora’s number as he gathered the ingredients for dinner. Once she picked up he explained to her what happened. After that he let her speak and then with a heavy sigh he hung up the phone.
“She told me not to overthink this. Also she kind of saw this coming. She’ll be here in half an hour. Josh said as he began to chop the vegetables. “She’s right though. What’s the worst that could happen.” Sally asked Josh. He stayed silent, he knew in his gut that this was a huge step for Aidan and Y/N. He just couldn’t shake the feeling that this may have consequences.
“I know that look. You’re scared something is going to happen.” Nora set her stuff down and kissed Josh on the cheek when she walked in. “Well yeah. All I want is to be normal. Instead I’m only half normal and I’m always looking over my shoulder.” Josh ran his hand through his hair. Sally looked at him sadly. She knew exactly how he felt. Nora half smiled at him. “Lets just prepare dinner and not think about the worst.” Nora started helping Josh as she spoke.
“You’re not that bothered by this are you?” Aidan asked you. “Not really.” You told him. He didn’t know what to say. All he knew was a weight had been lifted. He was truly in love and he didn’t want to hide anything. “You’ve had to love more than once, correct?” You asked him curiously. This caught him off guard. “Yes.” He said quietly. “It’s understandable. You’ve lived for centuries. It would be a lonely life if you hadn’t.” You spoke softly looking at your hands.
“How are you taking this so well?” Aidan asked lifting your chin so you made eye contact. “I’m open minded and more understanding than you realize.” You smiled at him. The two of you sat in a content silence until Josh announced dinner was ready.
Everyone took a seat at the table. “Josh has told me that the two of you took a huge step today.” Nora spoke to you happily. “Yeah, he told me about his life. He only told me what Josh is but nothing more than that.” You replied. “You’re okay with knowing the truth?” She asked you curiously. “Yeah. I’ll keep it a secret though.” You admitted giving Aidan a loving look. “I’m happy for the both of you. I’m sure it wasn’t easy for Aidan to tell you.” Nora spoke looking to Aidan with a smile.
“It wasn’t easy but it was worth it.” Aidan smiled happily at you. Josh noticed how happy Aidan and you looked but he still had that gut feeling gnawing at him. He wasn’t going to tell anyone, instead he stayed quiet. He figured Aidan deserved happiness at the moment. “Do you work tomorrow?” You asked Josh. “Yeah, I think so.” He answered. “Oh, okay. I just thought if you didn’t maybe we could all do something.” You smiled. “Well as far as I know I have tomorrow off. Maybe we could hang out together? Like a girls day out.” Nora suggested to you. “That would be great.” You smiled happily.
The four of you sat with each other talking and laughing for several hours. Sally watched in silence. She loved how happy everyone looked right now. In a world full of darkness they somehow found light. She was grateful you knew the truth. “We should call it a night.” Josh said bringing Sally out of her world. “I suppose since it’s getting late.” Aidan agreed as he glanced at the clock on the stove.
With that announcement you and Nora began to clear the table. “You can set the dishes in the sink.” Aidan told the both of you. “It’ll give me something to do tomorrow.” Aidan said. “You have the day off?” You asked him. “Yeah.” He shrugged. “So, I’m going solo tomorrow?” Josh looked over at Nora. “You’ll be okay.” Nora told Josh. “I hope so.” Josh half smiled at her.
“I should head out. I’ll text you at noon.” Nora said as she grabbed her things. “All right. I should head home also.” You smiled. You grabbed your stuff and kissed Aidan before heading out. Nora kissed Josh on the cheek before heading out. “That went better than I thought.” Sally said as the door closed.
“Yeah.” Aidan said. “You don’t regret telling her, right?” Josh asked with caution. “No, I don’t. I’m just surprised on how well she is taking this.” Aidan answered. “Haven’t you told one other person about yourself before?” Sally asked curiously. “Yes, but the truth isn’t why she’s no longer around.” Aidan looked down at his hands. Josh saw the pain Aidan was dealing with. The woman Sally spoke of had sacrificed herself so that Aidan could live.
The woman’s name was Celine. Aside from the wife Aidan had before he was turned, Celine knew also. Aidan had only mentioned Celine a few times to you. “Does Y/N know that story?” Josh asked softly. “Not yet. I was saving that for another day.” Aidan looked over at Josh. “It’s best to ease Y/N into the truth.” Sally said suddenly. “She has a point.” Josh agreed. “Yeah. I’m off to bed now.” Aidan stood up and walked to his room.
“I hope the best for all of us.” Josh sighed as he stood up. “We’ll see. I guess.” Sally shrugged. “I’m going to attempt to sleep.” Josh started to head for his room. Sally shrugged again and began to roam the house.
The next morning had started off as normal as usual. You woke up early. You showered and dressed for the day. You were sitting in your living room as your thoughts began to wander. You had always believed in the supernatural. Now you had so many questions to ask Aidan. You were glad Aidan told you the truth though. Though you didn’t expect being a Vampire to be his secret.
You were pulled out of your thoughts when you heard your phone go off. Nora was just letting you know that she’ll be over in five minutes. You smiled and replied with an okay. You got up to get your purse and keys. By the time you had everything Nora was outside waiting for you. You locked up and headed for the car.
“So, where to first?” You asked Nora as you buckled up. “I figured we could eat first.” She smiled as she put the car into drive. “All right.” You replied happily. The two of you drove in a comfortable silence until you reached the diner. “You may seat yourselves. I will be with you in a moment.” A waitress said when the two of you walked inside.
The two of you sat at a booth near the door. “You look as if you have a lot on your mind.” Nora pointed out. “Hi, my name is Amber. I’m your waitress today. What can I get for you to drink?” The waitress interrupted. “I’ll take a coffee.” Nora smiled at her. “I’ll take a tea.” You told the waitress. She nodded and headed towards the kitchen.
“I do have a lot on my mind.” You finally spoke once Amber walked away. “I understand. This is a lot to take in.” Nora smiled lightly. “Here’s your coffee and your tea.” Amber said, setting the drinks down in front of you both. “What can I get you to eat?” Amber asked politely. “We’ll just take today’s special.” Nora answered for the two of you. Amber nodded and walked off towards the kitchen again.
“It is a lot to take in but I can handle it. I just have to wonder how lonely his life has been. I also wonder what Josh goes through. From every Folklore I’ve read the transformation sounds and looks painful.” You said in a rushed tone. “It is painful. The lore doesn’t lie.” Nora said before taking a sip of her coffee. You nodded and took a sip of your tea. “I’m sure Aidan wouldn’t mind talking to you about everything.” Nora smiled at you.
“Here we are.” Amber said placing the food down on the table. “Thank you.” You told Amber. “Do you need anything else?” Amber asked politely. “We’re good.” You smiled at Amber. “Just wave if you need anything.” She said as she walked away. “Isn’t there a way I could see Sally?” You asked Nora curiously. “I’m not sure to be honest.” Nora gave you a puzzled look.
Though the two of you tried not to talk to loudly, neither one of you had realized that your booth was in front of James Bishop’s booth. He wasn’t alone either. At first he paid the two of you no mind, until he actually heard what you were saying. James Bishop had an evil plot running through his mind at the moment. “Things just got interesting.” James Bishop smiled as he took a sip of his drink.
He continued to listen intently to your conversation with Nora.
“Are you…” You began but trailed off because you didn’t know what you were about to ask. “I was turned by accident.” Nora smiled sadly. You were quiet for a few minutes. “Life may be different now but just think that it’s for the best that he told you.” Nora told you. “Yeah.” You looked down at your food. “If you’re having doubts of any sort I think you should talk to Aidan. You could also ask why he told you.” Nora suggested. “Oh, I don’t have doubts but I was thinking why would Aidan tell me this.” You looked up at Nora.
“I mean, I know this is a huge step. But doesn’t this also put everyone at risk?” You gave Nora a worried look. “You’re starting to sound like Josh. I don’t think there is much risk of you knowing about this side of our lives. Yes, we were exposed but in a good way. Like I told Josh, don’t worry too much about it.” Nora smiled at you. At that moment Bishop decided he was going to leave. Once he got up and began to walk out he made eye contact with Nora. A wicked smirk displayed on his face. The smile on Nora’s face faltered for a moment.
“Is something wrong?” You asked Nora once Bishop was outside. “Nothing.” She answered looking out the window. Bishop was nowhere to be seen. She had a bad feeling but she brushed it off when she noticed the look on your face. “Well we should finish eating and get our shopping done.” She said in a nervous tone. The two of you finished the meal in silence, you noticed Nora would look out the window every few minutes. She seemed on edge to you but you didn’t want to bring that up to her. Once the two of you had left the diner, her mood changed. The two of you headed off to the mall to get your shopping done and then after that you would head back to Josh’s and Aidan’s place.
Shopping had been fun for the two of you. Before the two of you went broke it was time to head to Josh’s and Aidan’s place. Nora had completely forgotten that she had encountered Bishop earlier that day. The car ride was full of laughter. “So who cooks tonight?” You asked Nora. “Well I was thinking we could order pizza instead of having anyone cook. Josh should be home in an hour.” Nora told you, glancing at the clock on the car radio. “Sounds like a plan to me.” You smiled at her as she put the car into park. “I can take you home later.” Nora smiled at you.
“Welcome home ladies.” Aidan said as he opened the door. Nora smiled and walked passed him into the living room. You set your bags down once you got into the living room. “Did you have fun today?” Aidan asked you. You sat down on the couch before you answered him. “Oh yeah. It was great.” You told him. “You seem puzzled though.” Aidan said as he sat beside you. “I just wanted to talk to you about everything I guess.” You spoke quietly.
“Something happened.” Sally said. “What gives you that idea?” Nora asked. She was leaning against the counter in the kitchen when Sally showed up. “Your posture.” Sally pointed out. “It’s just that I saw Bishop today at the diner.” Nora said, remembering the encounter at the diner. “Now you think he’s up to something?” Sally asked walking closer to her. “Well, I mean it’s Bishop. There’s no telling what that man is ever up to.” Nora stated nervously. “Are you going to tell Josh about it?” Sally asked. “No, I don’t think so. I could just be over thinking and worrying about nothing.” Nora admitted. Sally nodded her head and looked at the clock. It would be another twenty minutes before Josh would be home. Nora ordered the pizzas so that they would still be warm when he got home.
“Where do you want to start?” Aidan asked you. “Well, what’s it like?” You asked him. “It’s not fun. Sometimes the hunger can be a bitch.” Aidan admitted to you. “How do you get your blood supply?” You asked him curiously. “I steal blood bags from the hospital and hope they never notice.” Aidan looked over to you as he spoke. “Is it hard to be with me?” You asked, throwing him off guard. “No. I’ve learned to control myself.” Aidan said. You smiled at him.
“I think that about covers my curiosity.” You told him with a smile. Aidan smiled knowing you had at least one more question in mind. “Oh, one more thing. Why did you tell me?” You asked him nervously. “It’s because I love you and I wanted you to know everything about me.” Aidan answered honestly. “I appreciate it. I love you too.” You said, smiling as you spoke to him.  “I have to warn you that not all vampires are the same. There are a few that absolutely hate the fact that I’m friends with Josh.” Aidan told you.
“They don’t want to coexist?” You asked him. “No. Neither do some werewolves. There’s been a power war between the two for centuries.” Aidan looked to you as he spoke. You simply nodded your head and leaned into him. You didn’t have anymore questions so you opted to just enjoy his presence until Josh came home. “Are you staying here tonight?” Aidan asked you. “No, I planned to head home after dinner so I can put my things away.” You admitted to him. “Or maybe you can have a shelf and a draw of your own here?” Aidan asked quietly. You turned to look at him. He was staring at the TV at the moment. “How come you waited until now to ask me that?” You asked him. “Because you never asked and I also wasn’t ready to take that step.” Aidan admitted to you.
You smiled at him. “I would love that to be honest.” You told him curling up closer to him. He smiled as he put his arm around you. “I figured since I let you in on the truth might as well make it to where you practically live with us.” Aidan said. You nodded in agreement. “So it’s settled after dinner tonight, you can pick a shelf and a draw to call your own.” Aidan said with a huge smile. “That works.” You told him. The two of you sat in silence until Josh walked in.
“Evening, everyone.” Josh said tiredly. He was carrying the pizzas Nora ordered in his hands. “Welcome home.” Nora said as she came out of the kitchen. “These came to the door the same time I did.” He said walking into the kitchen. “That’s great. Did you pay the man or woman?” Nora asked. “No, of course not. I just took the pizzas and slammed the door in their face.” Josh joked halfheartedly. “Of course I paid them.” Josh said after Nora gave him a look. “You need to work on your jokes.” Aidan told him when he walked into the kitchen. Josh rolled his eyes as he set the pizzas on the table. “How did work go today?” You asked Josh. “The usual gossip. Everyone missed Aidan.” Josh admitted taking a seat.
“Any new patients?” Nora asked him. “None. What has everyone been up to today?” Josh asked as he took a bite of pizza. “We went out to eat and then went shopping.” You said gesturing over to Nora. Nora smiled but Josh also noticed that she tensed up a bit. “Did you have fun?” Josh asked giving Nora a look of concern. “Yeah.” Nora said. Josh nodded and went  back to eating. He figured it was just the usual girl problems so he didn’t feel like pressing on about it.
Sally stood in the living room next to the window. She wasn’t really looking at anything particular, until she noticed a car that she hadn’t seen before. She turned to look towards the kitchen. She could hear everyone chatting and laughing, so she didn’t bother them with it. “Honestly it could be nothing.” She whispered to herself. As if on cue the car’s headlights turned on and then it drove away. She watched the car drive away, she never got a look at the driver. She walked towards the kitchen to observe what was going on. She was still kind of bummed about not being able to be seen by you.
“What time did you want me to bring you home?” Nora asked you. “Actually I will be staying here tonight. I’m just going to put the things I bought today away in Aidan’s room.” You said cheerfully. “Oh?” Josh asked, raising both brows at Aidan. “Yes. I told her that she can have a shelf of her own and a draw in my room.” Aidan smiled over to you as he spoke. Sally beamed happily when she heard what Aidan had just said. “So basically it’s a type of trial run for if she wants to move in?” Nora asked curiously. “I guess we can put it like that.” You answered bashfully. “I’m happy for both of you.” Josh said with a smile. Once everyone had their fill Nora helped Josh clear the table. “I have to head to bed now. I’ve got an early morning shift.” You said walking out of the kitchen. Josh and Nora smiled while bidding you a good night. Aidan followed behind you.
“Do you have spare clothes for tomorrow?” Aidan asked as he grabbed your bags. “I actually bought a new outfit today, so I’m set.” You admitted. Aidan lead you to his room. “I can loan you a shirt and sweats for the night.” He told you while setting your bags down. You nodded and sat down on his bed. He quietly dug through his dresser for a shirt and sweats. “At least you have a bed and not a coffin. Could you imagine trying to fit two people in a coffin comfortably.” You joked, bouncing on his bed. “Ha ha. Very funny.” He said throwing the clothes in your face. You laughed at his shenanigans. “I couldn’t help myself.” You said as you began to change.
“Are you going to poke fun at it all the time?” Aidan asked with a smile. “Maybe.” You said giggling. Aidan rolled his eyes and walked to his side of the bed. “You love me.” You told him. “Yes I do.” He said. You walked over to lay next to him. You curled up to him once you were laying down. Resting your head on his chest. “Good night.” You whispered before drifting off to sleep. You hadn’t realized how tired you were until you laid down. “Good night.” He whispered back and kissed the top of your head as he wrapped his arms around you. He enjoyed this moment awhile longer before closing his eyes. It had been a long time since he felt this happy.
The next morning you woke up nose to nose with Aidan. You smiled softly and kissed his cheek before getting up to get dressed. Aidan woke up a few moments after you got dressed. “Will I see you after work?” Aidan asked quietly. “I should be off at three o’clock unless Melissa doesn’t show up. Then my shift will end at nine o’clock.” You answered him. “What time is it now?” He asked. “It’s five thirty. My shift begins at six. I have to head out now.” You said walking over to him. You leaned down and kissed him before heading out of his room. The house seemed silent when you were walking through to the front door. You didn’t know it but Sally was watching you leave. She smiled when you walked out of the door. “It’s like she’s always lived here.” She said to herself. She walked to the living room window to watch you walk away.
Sally had stayed like that for awhile. “See anything interesting?” Josh asked walking down the stairs. “Not really. I was just thinking.” Sally said walking over to the couch and plopped down. Josh nodded as he yawned and stretched. “What time is it now?” Sally asked Josh. “It’s six thirty.” Josh said glancing at his watch. “Why are you up so early?” She asked him. “Honestly, I have no idea. For some reason my body wouldn’t let me stay asleep.” Josh answered. He started walking to the kitchen for his morning coffee. “Though my shift starts at nine.” Josh said once he was in the kitchen. “Is there enough coffee for me?” Aidan asked, entering the kitchen. “Of course there is.” Josh answered. “So, how did last night go?” Sally asked.
“It went really well.” Aidan said. “Sounds boring.” Sally pouted. “It took no time for her to adjust.” Aidan said with a huge grin. Josh handed Aidan a cup for his coffee. “Is she coming back after work?” Josh asked Aidan. “She said her shift ends at three o’clock, but if Melissa is a no show than it will end at nine o’clock.” Aidan said, pouring himself a cup of coffee. “I hope she doesn’t have to take a double shift.” Josh said. Aidan nodded in a agreement. You had been working as a nurse for several years now. The double shifts were always the hardest on you. Especially when new patients came in. “I should get ready and head out.” Josh announced as he glanced at his watch. “See you later.” Aidan called after him.
You were half way through your shift. It had been a hectic morning for you. When you had first arrived they had asked you to help in the ER section because they were under staffed. Then ten minutes later two patients were brought in. Their brakes had failed in their car and they ended up in a horrible car accident. You had to help the doctors prepare both patients for emergency surgery. One of them didn’t make it, and it had been up to you to brake the news to the family. That was your least favorite part of your job. You hated to be the one to break the devastating news.
You looked up at the clock and noticed it read noon. “I have to change my shirt and then I’m taking my lunch break now.” You told Michael. He was the nurse that was helping you on your rounds today. “You’re allowed an hour and a half for lunch today.” Michael told you. “Really?” You questioned him. “Yes. I pulled a few strings with the boss. Told him how your morning had been going and how you deserve the break.” Michael said with a smile. “Thank you.” You told him as you walked away. Your boss can be lenient sometimes as long as he felt that you deserved it.
You changed your shirt quickly and walked silently to the elevator. Once the doors to the elevator opened you were met by Bishop. “Just the lady I was looking for.” Bishop said with a wicked smile. “Can I help you?” You asked. “I needed to have a few words with you is all.” Bishop told you. You didn’t respond. You made the mistake of looking into his eyes and suddenly your body was moving on it’s own accord. You had no idea what was happening or why. Bishop continued to give you a wicked grin. “You’ll be coming with me now.” He stated flatly. You only nodded and then stepped into the elevator.
Instead of going to the cafeteria like you had planned he had lead you out of the building. He paused for a moment. “Hello, Leo. It’s Officer James Bishop. I have to borrow Y/N.” You heard Bishop say into his phone. You knew he was talking to your boss. “Oh no. She’s not in trouble. Just need to ask her some questions is all.” Bishop stated. He nodded and then hung up. “Let’s get going.” He told you. He had his hand resting on the middle of your back as he lead you to his car.
He drove you to the Funeral Home instead of the police station. “I thought you only had to ask some questions? Shouldn’t that be done at the station?” You asked nervously as you got out. “Nah, thought it would be more fun here.” He said, motioning you to follow him inside. “Lads, if ya don’t mind. Keep people out of the office until further notice.” Bishop told the men that stood in the lobby. He lead you into the office. Your heart sank when the door locked behind you. “What’s going on?” You asked. In one swift movement Bishop held you close to him. his eyes turned black and his fangs were showing. Fear gripped tightly within you. “This might hurt for only a few minutes.” Bishop said.
No matter how much you struggled against Bishop’s hold on you, you couldn’t break free. You screamed the moment Bishop’s fangs pierced your skin. You struggled more and more, until you had felt weak. Your eyes eventually closed and the struggling stopped. Your body went limp in his grasp. Bishop moved his face away from your neck. He held you with one arm as he used the other to wipe the blood off his face. His eyes went back to normal and his fangs retracted. Bishop picked you up bridal style and walked to the door. He lightly tapped his foot on the door to announce that he needed out.
“Sir, what next?” A man asked when he opened the door. “Set up on of the rooms for her to rest in.” He ordered. He walked over to a chair and set you down gently. “Let’s see how Aidan will handle this.” Bishop said standing up straight. He was staring at your lifeless form. He was happy with his work. The change would take twenty four hours or more. Either way this was going to be fun for Bishop.
“The room is ready.” The man told Bishop. Bishop carefully picked you up again and followed him to the room. He carefully walked over to the bed and set you down gently. He may be considered an evil man but in this moment he decided to be gentle with you. “Once you awaken, you will no longer be human. You’ll have the freedom to leave because that’s exactly what I want.” Bishop said as he stood up straight. He began to walk away until the man had stopped him. “Sir, is it a good idea to give her that freedom?” The man had asked. “Yes. She’ll run off to Aidan. That is what I want her to do.” Bishop stated flatly. “Also leave her a meal for when she wakes up. Make sure it has a note next to it so she knows why it’s there.” Bishop said as he walked out of the room.
Aidan sat at home most of the day. It had been another day off for him. When the clock read three o’clock, he called your cell to check on you. He was shocked when it went to voicemail, but then he realized that must mean Melissa never showed up. “You seem restless.” Sally said walking into the living room. “I tried to call Y/N and there was no answer.” Aidan told her. Sally cocked her head and looked at Aidan curiously. “She probably had to take a double shift so she couldn’t answer.” Sally told him. "She normally notifies me when she has to take a double shift because of Melissa.” Aidan stated nervously.
“Another day off for you?” Nora asked as she walked down the stairs. “Yeah, and you?” Aidan asked Nora. “Yeah. It’s just Josh and Y/N working today amongst the rest of the staff.” Nora said walking into the kitchen. “Shouldn’t Y/N, be back by now?” Nora asked as she glanced at her watch. Aidan got up and went to the kitchen. “She said if she wasn’t home by three o’clock that meant Melissa didn’t show.” Aidan admitted. “Okay.” Nora said. “It’s three thirty now, so I guess Melissa was a no show.” Sally pointed out. Nora and Aidan nodded in agreement. A few seconds later Josh walked through the door. “I see you’re still here.” Josh said to Nora. “Yes. How was work?” Nora asked with a smile.
“I had a lot of cleaning to do this morning in the ER. I also noticed they had Y/N running all over the place.” Josh replied. “What happened?” Sally asked curiously. “There was a couple of patients that came in because of a car accident.” Josh replied as he took a seat at the table. “That’s terrible. Are they okay?” Nora asked frowning. “One person didn’t make it through surgery. The other person is currently hooked up to a breathing machine in ICU. The doc said they would be lucky to survive.” Josh answered sadly. “Y/N was the one that had to break the news to the family.” Josh sighed heavily after he spoke. “That had to have been hard on her.” Sally said. “Most likely.” Josh said. The four of them sat in silence for several minutes. Aidan kept checking the time.
Nine o’clock had come and gone. Aidan began to become severely restless at this point. Until he got a text from your phone. “I’ll be heading out of town for a couple of days. An old friend showed up after my shift.” Is what the text read. “Okay, be careful.” Aidan replied. Though he had an off feeling about the text.
The two days had passed by rather quickly. Aidan and Josh were walking home. Their hearts dropped when they saw you slumped and bawling on their steps. Aidan picked up his pace and ran to you. His heart dropped even further when he saw you. “I can’t go inside.” You choked out. “What happened?” Josh asked you. “I can’t fully remember. All I remember is one moment I was going on my break and then the next I wake up in this weird room. I didn’t know where else to go so I came here. Only when I tried to go inside I couldn’t” You sobbed. Josh looked over to Aidan. Aidan looked furious. He knew exactly what was going on. “Come inside.” Aidan said calmly. He carefully and gently pulled you to your feet. He walked you into the kitchen and sat you at the table. “You must be Sally.” You stated weakly. Sally looked from Josh to Aidan with shock. “You can see me now?” She asked from her seat. You nodded in reply. Sally felt her body fill with fear as she realized what was going on.
Aidan walked to the fridge to get out a blood bag. He carefully set it on a plate and put it in the microwave. A few seconds later he took it out and tore it open, handing it over to you. You looked at him in shock, not wanting to drink it. He nodded as if saying it is okay to take the bag. “No.” Sally stated putting both hands over her mouth. Josh watched in fear as he saw your eyes turn black and fangs come out. “How?” Josh asked quietly looking at Aidan. “I know how.” Nora said coming into the kitchen. “I talked to Leo after Aidan told me about the text. Leo was also asking about her because she missed her shift.” Nora walked up to rest her hand on you as she spoke. “Bishop.” Nora said. At his name you dropped the empty bag and flinched. Memories slowly flooded your mind.
Aidan slammed both of his fits down on the table. You jumped away at the sound out of fright. “Aidan, you need to calm down.” Sally told him. She looked over to you, you were hugging yourself. She and Nora noticed how frightened you looked. Josh stayed silent, he didn’t know what to do now. Josh pulled Aidan out into the living room.
“What are you going to do now?” Josh asked him. “Kill Bishop.” Aidan replied. Josh sighed. “I meant about Y/N. Will you help her adjust or do you not want her to live like this?” Josh asked him. Aidan looked to the kitchen, his thoughts all over the place. “I will help her adjust. Bishop most likely planned for me to stake her.” Aidan admitted. Josh nodded. “I’ll help the best I can.” Josh told him. “Do you think that is what Bishop wants?” Sally asked. “It’s how Bishop works. Take away the one thing someone loves the most.” Aidan replied.
In truth Bishop was hoping that by turning you, Aidan would end your life. When he found out Aidan, Nora, Josh, and Sally began to help you adjust, he was furious. Though the transition wasn’t easy for you, Aidan was patient. Eventually he had you move in permanently to make it easier on himself and you. When you weren’t around Aidan made plans to take down Bishop. Once Bishop is out of the picture he knew everyone would be able to live a normal enough life. It was worth it in the end because he had you by his side.

Bishop’s evening was long in the basement of the funeral home making the morning light somewhat of a relief as he put away his paperwork, grabbed his coat then headed out for the day, thankful that he had the day off from the police force today. Pushing one of the front doors open revealed a grisly sight that stopped Bishop short with confusion first then quickly shifting to horror as he came to the conclusion of who it was on the steps out front. Dropping his coat Bishop took a knee beside the unconscious, bloody woman’s body quickly confirming his suspicions as to whom it was.
 “(Y/N)? (Y/N)!” Bishop exclaimed
Hands shaking Bishop pulled (Y/N) into his arms desperately searching for a pulse luckily he managed to find a really weak one, pulling himself together Bishop scooped (Y/N)’s unconscious body into his arms before placing her in his car for transportation immediately to the hospital. Thirty minutes later Bishop Burst through the emergency room doors with (Y/N) cradled in his arms still stained with blood needless to say it instantly got the attention of the ER nurses. Within minutes (Y/N) was placed on a gurney then taken to an ER suite for treatment with Bishop following close behind until he was stopped by 2 nurses who denied him access resulting in a short scuffle before they threatened to have Bishop tossed out of the hospital all together which would mean he’d be unable to see (Y/N) at all instantly taming the concerned elder vampire. The double doors closed as Bishop ran a hand through his hair, down over his face with an aggravated growl that made him grit his teeth then punch the brick wall next to the doors causing it to crack slightly beneath his fist. Bishops frustrated growling turned to a whimpering cry as his forehead fell forwards to tap against the cool painted bricks with hands feebly patting against it now while the thought of losing her rattled around his brain.
 …
Aidan’s morning had been about average so far, Sally went on another rant this morning about being unable to talk to anyone besides supernatural based peoples, Josh was complaining about the upcoming full moon again and Aidan was once again late for his shift due to both of them. Two emergencies later Aidan was more than prepared to go home despite the fact it was only noon and things quickly seemed to be going downhill as Aidan rounded a corner in the emergency sector revealing a very familiar figure sitting in the waiting area. Aidan’s hackles were immediately risen at seeing the familiar blonde sitting in the waiting area of the emergency room, hand supporting his cheek while also covering his face, one leg crossed over the other while he slumped in the crappy excuse for a chair. After everything that went down regarding the Dutch then the vampire counsel in Pennsylvania Bishop had been banished but that was over 20 years ago now and he was reinstated as of 2 years ago much to Aidan’s dismay. Aidan thought for certain that Bishop would try to get him back in the ‘family’ however since he was reinstated as the king of Boston Aidan hadn’t seen hide nor hair of the elder vampire…until now that is. Despite the lack of trouble the blonde had caused Aidan still took great caution in approaching Bishop especially when he didn’t have a clue why he’d be in the emergency waiting area then there was the fact that the closer he got the more Aidan could see that Bishop was covered in blood. Attempting to keep himself positive Aidan gently extended a hand towards Bishop’s shoulder causing him to jump slightly from the touch. Bishop glanced up at Aidan momentarily before running a hand over his face but it wasn’t quick enough to hide the clear tear stains on his cheeks.
 “Aidan?” Bishop exclaimed
“What are you doing here, Bishop?” Aidan questioned in a low growl
“Ahem…um…I’m waiting for word…” Bishop began
“I don’t care! I warned you that the hospital was off limits!” Aidan barked irritably as Bishop began to stand up.
“I’m not here for that!” Bishop insisted
“Oh save it! You know I actually thought that perhaps you may have changed when you came back but as it turned out I was wrong!” Aidan snarled, fisting his hands in Bishop’s shirt before shoving him back against the nearest wall.
“Ugh! Aidan! Damn it…it’s not…it’s not like that!” Bishop protested
“Then what’s it like?” Aidan snapped, pressing Bishop harder against the wall
“(Y/N)…(Y/N) was wounded…last night…” Bishop swallowed hard with a shaky breath, eyes working hard to keep tears from falling.
“(Y/N)? What happened to (Y/N)?” Aidan questioned backing off slightly as he furrowed his brow in confused concern.
“I…I don’t know…I found her on the steps to the funeral home this morning…then…then I brought her here…and now…” Bishop trailed off, the tears starting to build again as he bit the inside of his cheek. Aidan released Bishop who straightened his shirt before running a hand over his face in anguish, releasing a shaky breath in the process.
“Was it another sect?” Aidan inquired, lowering his voice to a softer tone
“I don’t know…perhaps,” Bishop guessed, lowering both hands to rest on his hips
“Well how bad is it?” Aidan pressed
“I don’t know! I haven’t heard anything for hours,” Bishop barked before lowering his voice, eyes flicking from Aidan’s to the floor. Aidan tried to remain irritated but seeing Bishop so distraught softened Aidan’s heart making him release a soft sigh.
“Alright…hang on,” Aidan sighed out with the raise of a finger to Bishop before trotting off towards the head nurse. Bishop watched with confusion as Aidan walked up to the main desk in the emergency bay, leaning over it he spoke to the head nurse who eventually handed Aidan a chart that he flipped through briefly then handed it back and headed back to Bishop.
“What are you…?” Bishop trailed off
“(Y/N) was released from surgery 10 minutes ago but they’re still keeping an eye on her till they determine she is stable enough to go to recovery,” Aidan informed Bishop calmly
“How did you…?” Bishop trailed off in surprise
“Perks of being a nurse here,” Aidan cracked a slight smug smirk
“Humph…when can I see her?” Bishop wondered after huffing a slight laugh
“Soon, once they move her to the recovery then you’ll be offered to see her,” Aidan assured him
 “Thank you,” Bishop quietly stated
Aidan silently tapped Bishop on the shoulder then turned to leave while Bishop returned to his seat. A torturous 2 hours later the head nurse finally approached Bishop causing him to rise from his seat attempting to keep his excitement under control to little avail especially once the nurse told him that he could go see (Y/N) in recovery causing the elder vampire to take off towards the room given. Bishop hurried into the room only to stop short once inside, seeing (Y/N) laying on the bed looking so fragile and pale while the monitor steadily beeped in the background. Gingerly Bishop caressed a hand over (Y/N)’s pale cheek, brushing some stray hair away from her face as well as allowing him to feel her pulse beating weakly through her veins. The vampires who attacked the young woman had nearly drained her dry while inflicting deep wounds in the process and now the nurses were saying she may not survive the night. Bishop sat down next to (Y/N)’s bed with a heavy sigh, bringing a fist up to rest his chin on as his mind began to spin with how to save the one he loved. Soon evening began to fall leading to the end of Aidan’s shift at which point he paid a visit to Bishop in the recovery ward cautiously entering (Y/N)’s room, making certain to close the door behind him as Bishop craned his neck to look at the younger vampire.
 “Bishop…?” Aidan whispered
“She’s still unconscious,” Bishop explained simply, returning his gaze to the unconscious young woman.
“I know…I read her updated chart…she might not wake up,” Aidan carefully informed Bishop.
“I figured…she’s lost too much blood,” Bishop sadly whispered
“You know…um…there is one way you may be able to save her…” Aidan trailed off
“I’m well aware of how to save her…but…” Bishop trailed off
“But what Bishop? If you care about her,” Aidan insisted with a gesture to (Y/N)
“And if she doesn’t want it?” Bishop pressed back
“It’s either that or…she dies,” Aidan persisted
Bishop hung his head in contemplation, biting his bottom lip while attempting to figure out his options. Aidan let out a sigh as he came along side Bishop placing a gentle reassuring hand on his shoulder, normally Aidan didn’t endorse giving their curse to others but he knew how much (Y/N) meant to Bishop so this one time he’d approve. Swallowing hard Bishop let out a breath he’d not even been aware he was holding then stood from his chair, sauntering casually over to the monitors he pressed a couple buttons to disable the alarms while watching Aidan. Gingerly the blonde sat down on the edge of (Y/N)’s bed before leaning over her unconscious body, gently using one hand to turn her head to expose the gorgeous length of the young woman’s neck. Bishop’s fangs descended as his eyes turned pitch black then he leaned down to sink them into the pale flesh of (Y/N)’s pulse point and Aidan turned around to lock the door.
 …
(Y/N) came too with a deep moan feeling her head spin and an odd sensation that didn’t feel quite natural. Bringing a hand up to her head the young woman managed to ease into a sitting position allowing for a more detailed view of the room she was in, a bedroom that looked as though it was from the 40’s also it was oddly familiar. A figure appeared in the doorway that instantly drew (Y/N)’s attention first with alarm then with relief upon recognizing the features of Bishop as he moved across the room towards the bed to sit on the edge. Giving a gentle smile Bishop took (Y/N)’s hand in his own as a soothing gesture while the young woman regained her senses but there was a pounding in her ears that just wouldn’t stop.
“Ugh! What is that sound?” (Y/N) questioned
“Sshh…you just need to get used to it,” Bishop soothed
“Get used…to what?” (Y/N) wondered as a smell wafted in through the window that she instantly identified as roast beef from 3 blocks away. Bishop frowned slightly as he moved his other hand around over (Y/N)’s shoulders.
“I’m sorry…” Bishop whispered solemnly
“Sorry? For what?” (Y/N) asked suddenly throwing a concerned confused look
 “I didn’t want to…but you would’ve died…” Bishop stammered out
“Bishop…what are you talking about?” (Y/N) practically begged for an answer
“I turned you…” Bishop’s voice was so quiet that (Y/N) almost didn’t hear what he said but she did.
“You…turned me…?” (Y/N) wasn’t really sure if it was a question or a statement as she attempted to wrap her mind around what was just said.
“I’m so sorry…I’m so, so sorry…” Bishop repeated as he pulled (Y/N) close with his hands fisting in the back of her shirt.
“Bishop…” (Y/N) breathed out in slight surprise before wrapping her arms around him
“I couldn’t lose you…not like I lost Jane…” Bishop’s voice broke as small round damp spots began to soak through (Y/N)’s shirt on her shoulder.
“I’m…a…vampire now…right…?” (Y/N) wasn’t really angry with Bishop just trying to wrap her brain around what was supposedly happening.
“Yes…I…” Bishop trailed off into (Y/N)’s nape
“Bishop…Sshh…its fine, its fine…” (Y/N) gently pushed Bishop away from herself, cupping his face in her hands with a loving smile.
“I never wanted this for you,” Bishop whimpered as his hands came up to cover hers
“Hush love…thank you, for saving me,” (Y/N) whispered completely catching Bishop off guard because in all his years no one had ever thanked him.
(Y/N)’s smile grew as she leaned in closer for a deep, loving kiss that Bishop slowly returned once his shock wore off.
