#Summer is here & I went off #naturedrawing @hausdesmeeres again. Currently we have a typical summer, so I'll share this piece of these #Aldabra giant #tortoises napping in the #madagascar area. They really chilled out until the food showed up. (Mostly salad) I think they got it figured to live through the heat - nap, eat, hydrate! कछुआ के 300 साल जीने का राज -

कछुआ के 300 साल का राज जानने से पहले हम कछुआ किस तरह का प्राणी है ये समझेंगे।कछुए (Turtles) या कूर्म टेस्टूडनीज़ न��मक सरीसृपों के जीववैज्ञानिक गण के सदस्य होते हैं जो उनके शरीरों के मुख्य भाग को उनकी पसलियों से विकसित हुए ढाल-जैसे कवच से पहचाने जाते हैं।विश्व में स्थलीय कछुओं और जलीय कछुओं दोनों की कई जातियाँ हैं।कछुओं की सबसे पहली जातियाँ आज से 15 करोड़ वर्ष पहले उत्पन्न हुई थीं, जो की सर्वप्रथम सर्पों व मगरमच्छों से भी पहले था।इसलिये वैज्ञानिक उन्हें प्राचीनतम सरीसृपों में से एक मानते हैं। कछुओं की कई जातियाँ विलुप्त हो चुकी हैं लेकिन 327 आज भी अस्तित्व में हैं।इनमें से कई जातियाँ ख़तरे में हैं और उनका संरक्षण करना एक चिंता का विषय है।इस धरती पर सबसे ज़्यादा जीने वाले जीवों में से एक जीव है।इनकी कुछ प्रजातियां तो 150 साल से भी ऊपर जीवन जीती हैं. अभी तक सबसे ज़्यादा जीने वाला कछुआ Aldabra Tortoise है, जो 256 साल तक ज़िंदा रहा। कहा जाता है ये की ३०० से ज्यादा भी जीते है।

कछुओं की लंबी उम्र की वजह क्या है ?

कछुओं की लंबी उम्र को लेकर वैज्ञानिकों की मानें तो, कछुओं में ऐसे जीन वेरिएंट (Gene Variant) होते हैं जो कवच के अंदर DNA की हिफ़ाज़त करते हैं,जिससे इनको कोई बीमारी नहीं होती और अगर बीमारी हो भी जाए तो जीन वेरिएंट उसे जल्द ही ठीक कर देते हैं।इसी वजह से कछुओं की उम्र लंबी होती है।इसी वजह से कछुओं की उम्र लंबी होती है।कछुओं के लंबे समय तक जीने का सबसे बड़ा कारण उनका Gene Variant ही है, जो अलग-अलग प्रकार के होने की वजह इनको ज़िंदा रखते हैं और ये 250 साल से भी ज़्यादा जीते हैं।ये 256 साल तक जीवित रहने वाले Aldabra Tortoise पर हुई रिसर्च के बाद पता चला था, जो अभी तक सबसे ज़्यादा जीने वाला कछुआ था क्योंकि इसके जीन वेरिएंट ने सेल्स को लंबे समय तक एंट्रॉपी से बचाए रखा।

भारत वन्य जींव सरक्षण की कौन सी योजनाएँ है -

भारत विश्व के प्रमुख जैव विविधाताओं वाले देशों में से एक है।जहां पूरी दुनिया में पाए जाने वाले स्तनधारियों का 7.6%, पक्षियों का 12.6%, सरीसृप का 6.2% और फूलों की प्रजातियों का 6.0% निवास करती हैं. इन जीवों के संरक्षण के लिए भारत में 120 से अधिक राष्ट्रीय उद्यान, 515 वन्यजीव अभयारण्य, 26 आद्र्भूमि (wetlands) और 18 बायोस्फीयर रिजर्व बनाए गए हैं। इसके अलावा भारत सरकार द्वारा वन्यजीवों के संरक्षण के लिए कई परियोजनाएं चलाई जा रही है।ऑलिव रिडले नामक कछुए ओडिशा के समुद्र तटीय क्षेत्रों में पाए जाते हैं जोकि दक्षिण अमेरिकी प्रजाति के हैं।भारत में ऑलिव रिडले प्रजाति के कछुए विलुप्ति के कगार पर हैं।अतः ओडिशा सरकार ने वर्ष 1975 में कटक जिले में भीतरकनिका अभ्यारण्य में इनके संरक्षण के लिए योजना प्रारंभ की थी।

World Turtule Day कब होता है -

पूरी दुनिया में कछुओं की घटती संख्या को देखते हुए लोगों में इनके संरक्षण के प्रति जागरूकता पैदा करने के लिए प्रतिवर्ष विश्व कछुआ दिवस मनाया जाने लगा।23 मई को पूरा विश्व मिलकर इस दिन को मनाता है। कछुआ एक ऐसा जानवर है, जिसे कई सारे लोग शुभ मानते हैं और उनकी कई प्रजातियों को घर पर भी रखा जा सकता है। बाजारों में महंगे- महंगे भावों में भी कछुओं की बिक्री होती है।सन २००० से विश्व कछुवा दिवस का आयोजन होने लगा। कछुवे की प्रजातियों को बचाने के लिए अमेरिका के एक गैरलाभकारी संगठन अमेरिकन टॉर्टवायज रेस्क्यु की स्थापना की गई। इस संगठन की स्थापना का मुख्य उद्देश्य विश्वभर के कछुओं का संरक्षण है। विभिन्न देश के लोग सन् 2000 के बाद से ही कछुओं की रक्षा के प्रति जागरूक हो गए।

ALDABRA GIANT TORTOISE Aldabrachelys gigantea ©Laura Quick The Aldabra giant tortoise, from the islands of the Aldabra Atoll in the Seychelles, is one of the largest tortoises in the world.[6] Historically, giant tortoises were found on many of the western Indian Ocean islands, as well as Madagascar, and the fossil record indicates giant tortoises once occurred on every continent and many islands with the exception of Australia and Antarctica. Large tortoises are among the longest-lived animals. Some individual Aldabra giant tortoises are thought to be over 200 years of age, but this is difficult to verify because they tend to outlive their human observers. Adwaita was reputedly one of four brought by British seamen from the Seychelles Islands as gifts to Robert Clive of the British East India Company in the 18th century, and came to Calcutta Zoo in 1875. At his death in March 2006, Adwaita is reputed to have reached the longest ever measured lifespan of 255 years (birth year 1750).
