When your 26 year old bestie breaks off a 7+ year relationship earlier in the year and is now already in another relationship that seems even better than the last one she was in and your 28-year-old ass has never been in a relationship and only ever had one date and it doesn't appear likely to be getting either any time soon, and it's just... 🙃

People try to convince me there's nothing wrong with me, but obviously there's something wrong with me. The fact I don't really go out and still live at home are definitely part of the equation, but there's something more to it than that I'm sure--something that just makes me undatable. Repulsive, even. The only people I've ever attracted are sketchy dudes, mostly online, so none of them count.

And my undatability is just getting worse because I'm setting expectations so high with this Scrooge romance crap that no real man will ever be able to achieve. I try not to let it--to remind myself it's all fictional and idealized--but I know it is. It has to be. No real man is like this--not even the cream of the crop. And this stuff that I'm doing with Scrooge--I want this. Will I ever be able to settle for reality?

jace would NEVER abandon his family to back aegon’s claim (‘wah wah wah he HATES his mother bc she *made* him a bastard-’ one, jace does not care enough about that to abandon his mother [to whom he is literally the miniature version of] and two, his entire personality is his love for his family. he literally dies trying to save aegon and viserys *after* his mom told him not to go fuck OFF).

rhaena would also *never* abandon her family to back aegon’s claim (apparently she’ll feel sorry about blood & cheese and want to make amends with them. i don’t think so, i think she’d be more upset that her betrothed was ruthlessly slaughtered despite his status as a peace envoy but whatever).

baela is one of rhaenyra’s staunchest supporters (‘the greens reach to usurp our queen’s throne and they must be answer with fire and blood.’ i DO NOT care that it didn’t make it into the show that is canon!baela) and does *not* want driftmark (which only corlys has a say in, and he chose bAsTaRdS over her and rhaena at every single turn don’t even mention it), so stop trying to conflate your hatred of rhaenyra onto her daughter.

aegon iii would never have been happy married to jaehaera and vice versa. these were two heavily traumatized children. jaehaera would have to deal with being married to the son of the man who had her brother executed (not to mention that she already had severe physical and mental health issues that were not being treated and the people around her [aegon ii before he died and alicent after] were actively making her life worse). aegon would have to deal with being married to the daughter of the man who had his dragon burn and eat his mother alive while he watched. which he never ended up letting go of (even with a wife who we know he obviously loved dearly) he wore black for the rest of his life and was stated to be the most solemn king due to what he experienced during the dance. there was no saving them.

This is the first thing that Renfield says after being found lying on the floor, almost dead, and paralysed. After trying to stop Dracula from attacking Mina, almost getting killed that the swollen injuries of his face are the least worrisome of his injuries.

This poor man has been living a mundane, and lonely nightmare before anything began. One started by society, then continued by the people who society deems trustworthy enough to hide the mentally ill. Who cares what happens to a mad old man as long as he is not disrupting the every day with his suffering.

How only Quincey, and Arthur express a single thought of worry towards Renfield, while Van Helsing and Jack procede with a cold procedure to let him say his last words.

"There is no time to lose. His words may be worth many lives"

Why now? Why do you all put weight on Renfield's words now. Why his words are valuable when he is shaking his hands with death? Why does the madman receives mercy, and care when it's certain that he will die?

"It is no common enemy that we deal with. Alas! alas! that that dear Madam Mina should suffer!"

Renfield was the only one to warn Mina, to tell her that she needed to get out of there, to understand too late the great danger that he put himself, and this lady old enough to be his daughter into.

He was used as an experiment, as a fool, as a servant, and at last he could have a single kind conversation before confronting the monster who manipulated him for freedom.

And now the old man is dead.
