Okay, I've had this idea bouncing around in my head, waiting for you to reopen suggestions, haha. How do you think the Origins Companions + Halsin, Rolan, Dammon, and Zevlor would react if they found out that Tav had been hiding a very serious injury from them? The kind of injury where Tav is convinced that they're fine and they don't want to worry anyone with something they can handle on their own, especially the people they care most for, but as they try to ignore the injury it only gets worse until it's potentially life threatening and they can't keep up the facade anymore. I will leave it up to you whether or not Tav and the other individual are in a romantic relationship. I think both ways have potential for wonderful angst 😆

really tries to hide his panic but fails miserably.

can't help but start snapping - how could you keep something like this from him?

you try to give your excuses but he waves them away, angry, but mostly because he's terrified that he might have lost you.

if he has any healing potions he helps you take them, if he doesn't he immediately... sources some from somewhere.

holds you as tight as he dares, worried that he will aggravate the injury otherwise.

as you begin to heal and drift off to sleep he spends the whole night watching you rest, making sure that you're still breathing, still safe. doesn't mind when you cuddle up to him in the night, sleepily.

Gale

curses himself for not noticing your condition. he's a wizard, damn it! he's meant to be bloody perceptive.

wishes for the first time ever that he didn't just know wizard spells. wishes he knew how to heal, too.

makes you as comfortable as he can while he finds a book about what he can do for an infected wound, probably swallowing his pride and going to Shadowheart if it's bad enough.

you manage a weak, "Gale, you don't have to--", and he cuts you off, "if you're going to insist that I don't have to look after you, I'm telling you that I do."

fixes you something to help with the pain and infection, makes sure you drink it all despite the horrid taste, then tucks you into his bedroll to let you rest.

when you go to reach out and cuddle him he slips into your arms, presses his lips to your hair, and whispers as you fall asleep about how much you scared him. about how he'd never be able to lose you.

Lae'zel

only realises how unwell you are when you fall over mid-journey.

"tsk'va! why did you hide the extent of your injuries from me?"

hauls you onto her back and carries you back to camp, muttering about your foolishness the whole time.

makes you comfortable in her tent and uses her knowledge of githyanki medicine to help start healing you.

it isn't comfortable as she works on your infection but for the first time you feel her hands being soft rather than vicious.

"you should not have kept this from me." "I know. I'm sorry." "hm. ridiculous thing. zhak vo'n'fynh duj."

goes and intimidates the camp into being quiet so you can rest. it works. this is the nicest she's ever been to you. you could get used to it.

Shadowheart

obviously this is not a huge problem for her, but she is still worried that it got so far without her noticing.

immediately heals you, pouring far too many spell slots into your body in order to get it up and running again.

it helps, immediately breaking the fever you've been nursing, and the touch of Shadowheart's hand to your face is cooling and reassuring.

"lady shar teaches us to embrace our pain... but not like this. you should have known better. you could have died."

her hand slips down to cup your cheek, you cover it with one of your own. she's telling you off but you can tell it's because she cares.

"I'm sorry that I scared you." "I know. don't do it again."

she smiles and the ache in your heart is lifted, too.

Wyll

panics.

you collapse on day in camp and he immediately calls on the others for help, not so proud as to be unable to admit when something is out of his knowledge. he is not a healer. he needs help.

he manages to catch you in his arms as you tumble, hugging you close to his chest while magic is worked or a healer checks you over.

lets out a breath he didn't realise he was holding when you begin to stabilise.

helps you back to your tent to rest, gently chiding you but letting you know that he's glad you're alright.

when your hand weakly comes up to touch him, he indulges you in a kiss to let you know how relieved he is.

constantly watching you on the battlefield from that moment on. if he can help it, you'll never be hurt again.

Karlach

another panicker.

scoops you up in her arms and holds you to her chest, running to the tent of the nearest healer in camp - or, if you're in the city, kicking down the door of a local doctor.

begging the healer to check you over, but is reluctant to let you go. if she stops holding you it's like she's relinquishing control and that scares the life out of her.

you're healed and she feels you start to stir in her arms, peppering you with kisses of relief, choking through her tears that you're never to scare her like that again.

carries you back home, even if you're totally capable of walking. she just wants to make sure you're okay.

Halsin

sternly disappointed that you didn't tell him, but more annoyed that he didn't notice something was wrong himself. how could he not see how out of balance with nature you were?

squirrels you away to his tent to heal you, make you soothing and medicinal teas, his big hands over the source of the infection.

you burrow into his touch, into his chest, and you end up sitting in his lap as he heals you.

he wants to tell you off a little, but is more relieved that you're alright. encourages you to share all your burdens with him.

kisses you on the forehead, then on the mouth when he's sure you're strong enough for it not to knock you flat.

Dammon

my poor boy is just a blacksmith, so though he doesn't exactly panic, he does scoop you up and try to find a healer as soon as he can.

waits quietly and nervously as you are examined, silently cursing himself for being too busy to see how you were hurt. he's meant to be better than this. he's meant to love you, how didn't he notice?

when you come to he can't stop apologising, and it takes several of your kisses to soothe him and tell him it was not his fault but yours.

he makes you promise that you'll always tell him when you're hurt. has you look into his eyes and swear it.

he can't do much on the battlefield but he can protect you where he can.

Rolan

another one cursing that he doesn't know healing spells.

"you aren't meant to die, gods damn it! you're meant to be strong... what good am I if I can't keep you safe..."

rushes you to the best doctor in Baldur's Gate. pays for all the treatment that you could need. holds your hand at your bedside for your entire recovery... until you come back to consciousness, of course, at which point he just starts telling you off for being stupid enough to get into his mess in the first place.

you grab him by the collar and drag him down for a kiss. that finally shuts him up. but he never lets you forget how foolish you were.

Zevlor

practical but still worried about you.

you collapse in the field and he finds a safe place to hide the both of you from dangerous eyes, using his Lay on Hands ability to channel his magic into healing.

you try to apologise but a finger to your lips silences you, and all you can do is watch in quiet wonder as he burns the infection out with his Paladin's light.

when you're better he gently chides you. tells you that you have people relying on your leadership, and that a problem shared means there are more heads working on how to fix it.

when he sees how sorry you are lets you cuddle into him. when you say you'll repay him, he insists your happiness and well-being is enough for an old warrior like him.

does take the kiss you offer, though. he's been wanting to do that for a while...

LADS guys when you get injured

Rafayel:

Is furious but he’s not sure at who, you? The wanderer? Himself? He can’t believe it happened, it could have been so much worse, you could have died and what was he doing? Painting peacefully in his studio.

Is very clingy for the next few weeks, appearing at your door to make sure you’re taking care of yourself, and that’s after you had convinced him to not just sleep at your apartment.

When the doctor declares you fit to go back to work Rafayel refuses and makes you go for a second opinion, claiming the first is delusional, claiming you still had a slight limp and if you limped on the battlefield it could get you killed.

Claims he needs to nurse you back to health and he doesn’t tease you as much, he’s quite serious actually.

Tries to make you foods that are good for healing, three meals a day and thinks you don’t notice when he slips out to call the nutritionist he hired and collect the food from the chef.

Xavier:

Everything considered, he would give you the silent treatment while tenderly taking care of you, he’s supposed to be your partner at work and outside of work so why were you out there without him? If he had been there the wanderer wouldn’t have had even the slightest chance of hurting you like it did.

He’s constantly thinking about what could have happened and is more driven than ever to be there when you needed him.

When he did start talking to you again, he made sure to drill into your head how it made him feel for you to not even think of getting his help, that he understood you were strong and capable but that he was always available, he knows he could have made a difference and it��s never too safe to bring back up.

Makes sure you go to doctors’ appointments; he may not take proper care of himself, but everything be damned before he let you work yourself to death with this injury.

Tries to make you food but quickly learns if he wants you to be stationary and comfortable, he should not even approach the kitchen, opting to order the healthiest takeaways he can, sulking a bit you don’t trust him with the oven.

Zayne:

As your doctor he’s startled when you appear with a large injury, but he’s instantly more comfortable when he finds its mainly just superficial, doesn’t stop him from lecturing you about how you could let that happen.

Makes you go through every test he can justify you getting to check there’s no poison or corruption or anything that could risk your life in anyway and pays special attention to your heart.

He’s now more concerned for your safety, especially about if this is going to be more common and starts researching wanderers and whether they were getting stronger or smarter to cause this, start keeping up with any news on wanderer evolution.

Schedules a few more appointments for you than is really necessary but since its large he justifies it as a higher chance of infection because of its location, even though he’s busy he just extends his working hours to see you in a professional capacity or if he can’t do that because of working laws he’ll come see you as soon as his shifts are over to check on it.

When he’s sure you’re healed he reluctantly signs you fit for duty and gives you a stern lecture about avoiding those types of injuries in the future.

Caleb:

Doesn't hear about it for a while because he's occupied by his job, but the second he does he's desperately calling you and texting you, all while booking time off, a flight back and buying you get well soon gifts.

As soon as he's home, he's giving you a big hug asking how you are, what happened, "what does the other guy look like?" in a teasing tone.

Promises he's sticking around for at least a week, preferably until you're feeling better though, and makes you all your favourite food while he's there, insisting you stay at your grandma's while you recover so they can both dote on you.

Let's you talk his ear off, spends the whole time reminiscing with you and doing things you did together when you were younger, just being more careful with you of course.

When you eel better and before he leaves he makes you promise not to get hurt again any time soon, and makes sure you know he'll tease you like crazy if you do, ruffling your hair before he goes.

Don't really know what to do with this thought so I'm sharing this with you, but Ghost and Soap getting on a tram one day and the only seats left are next to this timid looking thing, trying to make herself as small as possible, silently hoping these two big men will settle for holding onto one of the poles or handle bars above. They clock in on her immediately, pretending to be kind and polite, making her feel safe as they sit on either side of her, boxing her in. They learn her routine and always get on when she's on.

Slowly, they start to cop a feel every once in a while, apologizing because 'it was an accident' and she doesn't think much of it at first, but she cant help but think something is off about them the more frequently it becomes, so she settles for standing up the next time she gets on the tram, holding onto a pole in the back corner. They'll probably leave her alone, right?

Soap and Ghost get on and see that their new toy has moved from the regular seat, obviously trying to avoid them. They're upset, and instead of leaving her alone like she hoped, they stand next to her, Simon using his body to block the view, though it doesn't really matter to either of them if anyone sees, and Johnny gets behind her to trap her between the pole and himself. They tell her not to make such a fuss as they take turns groping her because what would the people think if they saw her acting so slutty in public?

There's nothing she can do to stop them. It happens every single time she rides the tram now and she can't go on a different one because it's her only mode of transportation to work. It even gets to the point where Ghost and Soap can take a turn to fuck her before her stop because she's so quiet and good for them. is it unfair for me to hold anger at individuals, or criticize individuals, if covid minimization is not the result of individualized choices but mass messaging and systems at work? im not really sure what to say to leftists who ive spoonfed information who have still decided to “move on” from it, including in their activism. on one hand i understand how they got here, on the other it feels like theyre enacting violence, in the same vein as like misgendering or supporting “blue lives matter” but with the added bonus of them maybe also harming someone directly by refusal to do infection control. i really need to shift my perspective away from a heavily trauma-informed one and start living in the real world where i cant expect anyone to advocate for me, and have to find more systems-based ways to advocate for myself, and releasing some of that anger might need to be a part of moving on from that pov, but a lot of that trauma *is* individualized and resulted from the way people have responded to me, which varies from lukewarm apathy to actively telling me my life isnt worth anything to them. at the same time, it’s impossible for me to feel like i’m not the one in the wrong, when it’s very few people left who care about any of this. sorry for dumping this on *you*, im aware you’re some guy online, but the only ppl i see who still talk about covid are ppl in the same situation as me and are too close to it to assess, or think about it purely on an individual level

i don't think there's anything wrong, bad, or unfair about feeling this type of anger or betrayal. i just also think that this is one of those situations where a (completely understandable) emotional reaction does not form the basis of an effective political platform. both of these things can be true at once; your ethical considerations when navigating interpersonal relationships are not the same as the ethical considerations for someone who wants to style themselves a public health communicator. in an epidemiological sense, a person who reluctantly masks because orgs and public spaces have mask mandates is accomplishing the same thing, materially, as a person who happily masks because they care about their disabled comrades. in that sense there's no need for a public health strategy to focus on 'changing minds' and doing so often just makes people dig in their heels more. but, on a personal level, of course it matters to you whether someone actually cares for you and protects you voluntarily! figuring out how to interact with people in your own life is just not the same as figuring out the most effective mass communication and public policy strategies; what irritates me about many of the twitter-sphere covid communicators is the elision between these two things. having said that, if i can just soapbox for a second:

i try to give these people the benefit of the doubt; i do think many of them mean well and think they are doing what's right. however, the strategy that many of them have coalesced around seems to go something like this: assume that others are not covid-cautious because they are insufficiently frightened; assume this is a failure of individual intelligence-slash-awareness; using the same datasets as the applicable public health agency, interpret all data with any number of assumptions, predictions, and modelling heuristics built in; generate very terrifying infographic, post it, and wring hands when doing so doesn't change anyone's behaviour or state policy.

even in the best of cases i simply think this is ineffective; i would say public attitudes about the seriousness of covid are much more a result of state and public health inaction, ambivalence, and denialism than they are a cause. additionally, interpreting data and making predictions based on them is woolly, and a lack of transparency about their methodology, plus the overconfident desire to present themselves as authorities on the internet, means that this strategy can and does end up producing its own distortions. see, for example, recent 'med twitter' claims that "covid is airborne aids", an attempt to scare people into taking it more seriously that relies on poor and overconfident interpretations of current immunological knowledge; that ends up distorting what we do actually know about covid and the immune system (which is already fucking scary! no lies needed!); and which, as far as i can tell, actually started picking up steam in early 2020 as a right-wing conspiracy theory centred around the claims of dr (not an md) leonard g. horowitz, who argues that covid is a laboratory-engineered virus and uses it in his efforts to sell "resonating silver hydrosol" supplements to you (and your pets!) as "an effective alternative to risky vaccinations and deadly antibiotics".

getting into bed with these people is patently dangerous for obvious reasons. i really do not blame people who are trying to find reliable covid information, and are rightfully wary of state and official sources that have been downplaying this virus for its entire existence, for getting sucked in by twitter doctors when those people are often the only ones who seem to be both posting statistics and taking the virus seriously. however, what i have observed leads me to believe that, firstly, many of these people are motivated by a desire for renown and fame as much as by altruism (welcome to social media). secondly, virtually all of them are fundamentally very liberal in their politics, and this shows in the way they interpret the current state of affairs as a result of individual actions and psychological failures, rather than capitalist policy. this is absurd and leads to absolutely pointless (if not often counterproductive) narrativisation of political action as some kind of magical field where everybody just needs to change their minds and believe in the correct things really hard and then things will change: it's the liberal democratic fantasy that aggregated attitudes create policy out of thin air, no organisation or class analysis or principled communism necessary.

thirdly, a multitude of factors (incl. the paywalling and gatekeeping of knowledge) means that, although state and official interpretations of their datasets are often misleading or outright dishonest because they want to minimise risk, too often the self-styled 'covid communicators' online are not a solution to this and are prone to their own fallacious assumptions, conspiratorial thinking (see again: understanding politics as the product of many individuals believing something really hard, with no analysis of structural factors), poor data analysis, issues with comprehensive data collection in the first place (same as state sources. because they are usually using the same datasets), and a particular rhetorical emphasis on "listening to the science" that often manifests practically as a failure to actually engage with scientific methodology or to questionor improve it where it is lacking, incomplete, or bias-reproducing.

so. these are my issues with the state of covid communication; to me the question of how to navigate interpersonal relationships with people who don't value your life enough to protect it is just very different and the emotional engagement there is also quite different.

I LOVE YOO 220 Thoughts

1. What excites me the most on this episode is, we got a glimpse of how Yui abused Nol in the past! (Not that I enjoy seeing Nol being abused, far from it, but I'm glad we finally see the plot moving) This is the discussion back in ep 150:

And with today's episode, we now see how Yui utilizes her power as the owner of the hospital: interfering with the doctors and nurses' decision, having their license revoked if they try to defy her, rewarding them with money -or anything- if they do as she say... Of course Yui's hand would stay clean if everyone is too scared of her! It really give us a glimpse of how she abused Nol in the past. Ugh. Now I wonder, did he also had the nurse he's close with removed from his sight because of Yui? Did she also gaslighted him into thinking it's his fault? 😒

Hearing Yui's argument is laughable actually. When a patient is unconscious, a doctor has the right to do some tests based on medical judgement in order to reach the correct diagnosis for the right treatment, because a sleeping patient can't tell the doctor what's wrong with them afterall. She has no right to veto as a mother too(?), since Kousuke is already an adult. Now, whether the CEO of the hospital has the right to revoke a medical lisence based on personal opinion -- or not, I can't tell because I don't know the laws. But well, money and power goes a long way, sadly.

2. At least Nol wakes up with the person he care by his side. Kousuke wakes up with no one in sight, and the sound of arguments outside. Quimchee just loves hammering down Kousuke's sign of neglection, huh. As much of an asshole Kousuke is, he's still the victim of abuse just like Nol :(

4. Now, about the reason why Yui is so adamant not letting Kousuke be tested by a literal professional. Many people has guessed it's because Yui doesn't want anyone to find out Kousuke is not Rand's biological son, but I don't think we're there yet. Hansuke mentioned basic tests; as far as I know, the basic, standard tests don't include blood-type test or DNA test. It usually only covered the potentials of:

Irregularity in blood (haemoglobin, platetet, RBC counts)

Infection (WBC, Lymphocyte counts)

Liver disfunction (AST, ALT)

Kidney disfunction (Creatinin, Urea, Bilirubin)

Diabetes (blood sugar)

Cholesterol-based illness (LDL, HDL, triglycerides)

Irregularity in electrolytes (Na, K, Cl, Ca)

And that's the gist of it. There's not much to get, unless Yui doesn't want anyone to find out Kousuke is actually diabetic? Maybe she inserted diabetes medicines inside his food? Kousuke did say they have personal chefs, maybe they also received Yui's order. I kinda doubt it though, this seem like a stretch.

It's a different story if Hansuke wanted to check the possible substance inside Kousuke's body, though. Hansuke suspected Kousuke is under the influence; it's the easiest answer that could explain Kousuke's abnormal behavior.

This is just some wild theory but I suspect Yui inserted some antipsychotic drugs in his drink or food (remember the family chefs?) to keep Kousuke in check. If Hansuke finds out about it, it will reveal that Yui has been hiding the fact that Kousuke has some mental disorder, and that could jeopardize his position as the new CFO; that's why Yui doesn't want a blood work. Just a guess 💀

5. [Yui: what has you scrambling around in distress?] [Kou: I can't recall... ] [Yui: Aww that's too bad...]

Look at that sinister smile. She is DELIGHTED Kousuke forgets. Since Yui knew he hit his head on the wall, I think it's safe to assume(?) she knows Kousuke was looking at patient record earlier. She knows which name that triggers him. Does it mean she doesn't want Kou to find out about Nessa (further, what she did to her)? Has Yui always used Kou's "ignorance" (memory issue) about Nessa's fate to let him mock Nol about her disappereance?

Nol you couldn't be more right. I look forward to see Kou finding out he has been mocking Nol's mom's absence when it's his own "dear mother" who "killed" her. The devastation...

6. I still don't get why would Yui throw away Rand's gift. If anything, I think it'd benefit her more if she give it to Kousuke. Something like: praising him, how he's done such a good job being a CFO that his father would give him an early expensive present, gaslight him into thinking it's not enough, but just a little more until he'd truly acknowledge him, etc. I thought he'd be easier to manipulate if he get enough reward (which he clearly didn't get)? It feels like Yui's manipulation is getting old. Idk, I thought a goal would be much sweeter if he get to taste it, so he'd work even harder. But so far, he didn't taste any of it.

But then it hit me. If Kousuke sees the real present, he'd know his father does care about him. He won't need Yui anymore, he'd start to rely on Rand, as in, the person. And Yui doesn't want that. She wants Kousuke to be fully in her control, she wants him to keep relying on Rand's image by her words; that Rand is a cold man who doesn't care about his family unless Kousuke surpassed him. She just... never let Kousuke to be free. (Which is why I realized Nol has the potential to be a much scarier manipulator than Yui, but that's another topic for another day).

7. Yui touching Kousuke's injured hand without apologizing is such a psychopath thing to do: lacking of guilt or empathy.

8. BAHAHA since we're almost at the end of the year, it's nice to see the reference of earlier episode!

Though, could this be a foreshadowing? If Shinae really becomes Kousuke's assistant in the future, would she be included in the future hospital inspection? Would she play a role in uncovering Nol and Kousuke's mistreatment in the hospital? Lol.

9. MEG!! AOEBJDDJ I hope she would return the gift to Kousuke, just like Shinae who return the bible to Nol! Kousuke needs to know Rand is more caring than he seemed and Yui is much more wicked than he thought! This is probably Meg's role as the member of the Black Team: to open Kousuke's eyes that he still has people who care for him as who he is.

oh wow I am so sorry to hear about your daughter having EOE - that sounds really rough. How do you navigate that?

At this point, with a lot of flailing.

It took 3.5 years to even get her properly diagnosed, not through lack of trying-- it's just a hard thing to differentiate, and the specialists that can actually do the test are dealing with a huge number of patients so they're always backed up. We're lucky: we live only an hour from the state children's hospital where they can do the diagnostic procedures, and it has a dedicated EOE specialty clinic that's one of the best in the country. It still takes 2 months to get an appointment as an established patient, and it took even longer to get her in on the initial referral. We're also lucky that she was able to explain to us what she was experiencing in a way that a doctor could take seriously and act on, and we're lucky that her primary care doctor did so.

But generally speaking, things suck spectacularly for pediatric EOE and GERD patients right now, at least in the US. The best medicine for treating it is omeprazole (prilosec), and there was exactly one manufacturer that made it in a suspension that small children could take. Well, that manufacturer decided it wasn't profitable enough, so they quit making it altogether. So now the next best, lansoprazole (prevacid), is on national back order for months because every child that was on the other one is now needing to switch.

So my daughter is currently on the next next best thing, because it was that or nothing, and it's just not working great for her. It keeps her from the worst of the pain, but she's back to not wanting to eat anything but bagels, one specific brand of cereal, and string cheese.

Back when she was officially diagnosed, her doctor gave us the option of going on a super dose of PPI meds, jumping straight to the steroids, or doing a full elimination diet with a nutritionist. For a kid, none of those options are great.

The PPIs reduce absorption of nutrients, which are already few and far between for a growing person with only a few tolerated foods. The steroids may have effects on a growing liver and kidneys, and also make you more prone to fungal infections and upper respiratory illnesses. Both have to be routinely dose-adjusted because the child is growing constantly, but you have to get an official weight/height check at the specialist to do so, which is always backed up. Then the elimination diet is...well, it's hard, to put it mildly, and it takes a really long time because of how delayed the reactions can be. Plus when you already don't like eating and only have a few 'safe foods', it's hard to cut back. Most people with EOE also have more than one trigger, so you have to eliminate a ton of things and hope you get them all, and you can't be on any medication while you're doing it because you have to be able to identify the point at which symptoms get better and then return.

In short, all the options suck.

We eventually decided on trying to get it under control enough with the meds to hopefully expand the foods she was willing to eat, in preparation for doing the elimination diet. It was working. Then the forced medication switch blew that all up. So we're just gonna grit our teeth and go with the elimination diet unless her specialist has another option for us.

But aside from that, it's been a lot of phone tag and appointment waiting, and a lot of readjusting the way we look at food and eating.

For her, whatever she will eat is a win. We've taken pressure off her to try new things. We still offer it, but we don't press if she's not feeling up to it. Reducing stress around the concept of trying new foods is super important, because she's already up against the stress of wondering whether it'll 'get stuck' or feel yucky or make 'the fires' worse.

We've also had to make sure we don't fall into the trap of trying to dictate how much she eats and when. Unless a meal is coming within the half hour, we let her have a snack when she's hungry-- wait too long, and she's in pain. Plus we want her to kind of train herself to respond to those hunger cues because her appetite can get so drastically reduced at times, every instance of her listening to an 'I'm hungry' is a win.

We also had to abandon the idea of the 'perfectly' balanced diet. Proteins are a struggle for her. Leafy greens are a struggle. So are other calcium containing foods like dairy and dairy alternatives. She really only likes carbs, mostly bread and fruit. But it's not like she can help it. Nobody purposefully restricts their diet just to be difficult-- a "picky eater" is someone who is struggling and needs accommodation, not judgement.

So we let her eat what she will eat, and work to find options that can get her the stuff she needs. Protein bars are a big hit with her right now, for example. A better texture than meat, they come in 'treat' flavors, and there are options that don't have all the added sugar that's gonna trigger the acid flareup. We make sure we get enriched flour and bread products so she gets at least some iron. We pick varieties that have added protein and calcium. We get juice with added vitamins and minerals. We stock the pantry with things that cater to her capabilities and needs wherever the two overlap. The goal is nutrition, whatever form that takes and whatever it looks like right now. Getting it "right" will come later. For now, we just need her to be comfortable with food and to learn how to work with her body.

This has also meant teaching her about nutrition, so we can help her take charge of her body's needs and help us think of ways to meet them. That's hard for a 3 year old, but there's a show called Storybots on Netflix, and they have a great episode on nutrition called "Why can't I eat dessert all the time?" Super accessible for kids, and has a catchy song describing macronutrient categories and why we need lots of different kinds of food, not just one kind. It was a perfect starting point, and we just kept at the explanations. Like when we would eat an apple with breakfast, we'd talk about how it has Vitamin C to help her cells be strong, fiber to help her tummy and intestines work well, and carbohydrates to help her have energy. Every time we try a new food, we talk about what's in it to help her body. That includes things like chips and cake--we're big on the concept of "all food has value, it's just some has more than others, so we eat the most of those."

So now, when she's had a "just bread" day we remind her that her body needs more than just carbs, and we can't get all our protein, fats, vitamins, and minerals from bread, so we should probably have something else too. 9 times out of 10, she'll add something to her request, like some blueberries or carrots. She might not eat a ton of it, but she tries, and that's what counts.

I know this is a mile long and probably way more than you were asking, but it's just one of those things that I have a lot to say about. I could talk all day about accessible eating and nutrition, as well as Going Off on our current medical system in the US, so if anyone has further questions, feel free to reach out.

Had a dream of surgery and another octopus. This time it was a small one, roughly the size of both my fists put together, and I don't know where I found it but I had to take care of it. I moved it around in a tupperware container, and put it in a sink that I filled with water every time I stopped somewhere where I could use the sink. The octopus would rapidly swim circles in the sink whenever I put it into one and could pour more water on it. I wondered whether it was excited to finally have enough space to move, or finally getting new water with some oxygen in it. I knew I'd at least need an aquarium with a water filter to do the bare minimum, but for now refilling the sink whenever too much of the water had gone out was the best I could do. The octopus was suffering, sulking in some corner of the sink with its tentacles wrapped around itself, but at least it was alive.

Then I had to have surgery. Something in my abdomen, and also streating several spots on my thighs where the skin had apparently been infected really badly. They removed the rotten skin and flesh underneath it, and when I came to, I noticed the infection sites had just been carved out and left that way, not sutured or even bandaged, just holes in my flesh left to the open air. When I told the medical staff that I don't think they should be left like that, they'll get contaminated immediately, they told me that it'll be fine for as long as I don't touch them or let anything else touch them. How was I supposed to even put my pants on without having the fabric touch the wounds?

I had the octopus in a sink in the hospital the water level of the sink had gone down again when I was in surgery, so I refilled it, worrying about how long I could keep the poor creature like this before it would die from the lack of an appropriate enclosure. It just sulked in one corner of the sink, pressed as deeply into the corner as it could.

The Quarry had such potential to be amazing, they had some great characters but the plot wasn't great. The ending felt so pathetic. We go into the woods all dramatic like and end up just shooting silas in his bed. And that's it. No group emotional group meet up, no finding out what happens when they all find out who loved and who died, the police interviews in Until Dawn were great. The podcast at the end of the Quarry was so boring!

On the plus side really really want to get railed in a jealous Nick and Jacob sandwich. Even better if they've just been infected and can't control themselves. Both of them tugging and manhandling you around as they rip at your clothes, ignoring your tears but both moaning when you whimper, as they both desperately try to get their cock in you first

(major ending spoilers!! also me being down horrendous LOL)

RIGHT??? like the absolute worst thing you could do for a game like this is to not focus the conclusion on the characters we actually care about. i haven't seen anyone that actually liked the podcast, and why would you categorize the evidence you find as being evidence to give to the police, and then never even give it to them? it's just given to two randos that we never meet or see once! and i agree, the whole silas ending was so weak. and is it just me or was the whole werewolf blood thing totally useless? like maybe I've only seen endings where they haven't gotten a hold of it but it seems like it doesn't even do anything so it makes no difference whether you give it to ryan or laura. plus the fact that the only real difference is that you kill off three of the characters if you spare silas and eliza is STILL pissed off at you no matter what you do, like it would've been so much more psychologically horrifying if she actually praised you for sparing him and made it feel like killing off the characters you've grown to like and have kept alive was the right thing to do. still wouldn't have been a great ending but it would have been better than what we got. alas.

HOWEVER. more importantly. pre-werewolf jacob/nick sandwich......god i wanna eiffel tower them so bad 🥵🥵 especially bc nick is proven to be abominably horny in his pre-transformation stage, while jacob shows how insecure he really is, and both extremes are a recipe for hot, hot, jealousy sex. nick is so possessive and greedy and wants as much of you as he can grab, while jacob is clingy and needy and desperate to be as close to you as he possibly can because he needs to feel you against him. even better if they both had crushes on you beforehand, because now they're truly rivals, and not just for their beloved pb butterpops. both of them just fondling you out in the open and so territorial over you that you can feel the heat from borh sides, your cries totally drowned out by jacob kissing you, loudly, and nick mumbling absolutely foul comments in your ear about your body and how he's gonna fuck you like he's been fantasizing about doing since the first day of camp. and you don't even have a moment to say anything about being out in the open, they don't care about stripping you naked in the middle of the forest, nobody is gonna come near when they smell (and hear) two werewolves descending on some poor little human. all they care about is warming their cocks inside you, whether they can both fit or one of them has to take up residence in your mouth. it's even scarier but also kind of hot when their eyes start turning dark and their nails dig into you when they cum, and when they finally break off of you you know that you just have to run. stumble through the woods like a newborn calf with cum-soaked legs and a bitter taste in your mouth, just hoping that you can make it back to the lodge and your friends and hurry inside--you don't yet know what's happening, but the pained screams followed immediately by howling from behind you certainly can't be a sign of anything good.

I was thinking about how I remind people a lot that I love them and I was wondering how Tess would show her love towards the reader... cause I don't see her saying I love you that easy even if she feels like it?? Idk

Okay I have been wanting to talk about this for a hot minute cause I have so many thoughts on this, and I do touch on it from time to time in my writing but I don’t think I’ve ever really explained it and my thoughts on it. So I’m gonna ramble here so I’ll put it under a cut!

I agree. I think she isn’t one of these people to throw the love bomb around, even when she is in love with someone she isn’t just going to say it so easily. And I, personally in how I wrote her and I see her, just see it as being a fear thing. She’s scared of it. Whether you take Tess’ game background or her show background, she doesn’t have any family left. Whether you want her to have the husband and kid she was meant to have in the show or not. She still has no family left. She had Joel. And Joel alone. So everyone she has ever loved? They’re gone. They’re dead or infected.

So I always imagine her seeing it as almost cursed. Because everyone she loves or loved has died. And she wouldn’t want to take the risk with her gf.

I also believe it links into the fact that she’s feared by a lot of people in Boston, she’s top dog. She has a lot of people that would like to challenge her authority and take her place. And having someone she so vocally loves? It gives her a weak point, a thing to be taken and manipulated to make her do what someone else wants. So. Yeah, she would not be the type to tell you she loves you all the time, if at all.

I think In general shes just not every good at expressing or talking about her emotions and how she feels. But she’s very very good at showing it. She would show you she loves you in the most simple of ways. Cuddles and kisses in the privacy of your apartment, making sure you’d eaten that day, listening when you need to rant about your bad day. She’d bring you stuff she knows you’d like when she’s on a smuggling run, found a book she thinks you’d enjoy? She’ll bring it back. Found a shirt she thinks you’d look good in? She’ll bring it back. No matter how much space it takes up, she knows you’ll like it. So she’ll take it.

She protects you and cares for you and makes you feel like the only woman on the planet so that you know she loves you but she doesn’t have to actually tell you. And you’d never force her too either.

Part 02

Hanzo Shimada x Y/N

"Y/N, have you noticed that Hanzo is staring at you?" Dva asked quietly.

"I didn't notice. I finished eating, left first. I have to observe Cassidy's situation." You get up and leave.

"Brother, do you have anything to do with Y/N?" Genji is puzzled.

"Yes." Dva suddenly sat next to Genji.

"Ah? How do you know?" Hanzo is puzzled.

"Brother, you have been staring at Y/N." Genji said.

"It shouldn't be!" Dva was surprised.

"Shouldn't it?" Hanzo is puzzled.

"Love?!" Dva said excitedly.

"That's right. It's good that Y/N will take good care of people." Genji said.

"What the hell are you two talking about? I just want to ask her something. It's not convenient for me to disturb when she is having dinner. And I don't need the feeling of love. " Hanzo explained.

"Hanzo, you haven't been in love, have you?" Dva said mischievously.

"Brother, I'm also curious." Genji said.

"You two shut up..." Hanzo sighed.

After dinner, you go to the ward to observe Cassidy's condition and then go back to the medical room to sort out the documents. It's 10 p.m., you stop your work and get ready to leave. You opened the door and saw Hanzo standing at the door. You two were scared by each other.

"Wow! Why are you standing at the door without a sound!" You are surprised.

"I... I opened the door as soon as I got here..." Hanzo explained.

"Oh.. Is that right? So is there anything I can do for you?" You asked.

"This..." Hanzo took out the bandage and disinfectant.

"What's the matter? Do you want to give it back to me? " You said nervously.

"No, I don't know how to bandage. Can you bandage me? I need training tomorrow morning. I don't want the wound to affect my bow. " Hanzo said.

"Great~ I thought you didn't use it. I was so worried~ No problem, Hanzo, just leave it to me!" You invited Hanzo to sit in.

Hanzo took off his gloves and showed his hands. You held his hand and applied it to the wound little by little with a cotton swab to prevent infection. In order to restore the wound and remove the scar quickly, put a bandage around the wound. After the dressing, you hold his hand and observe it carefully.

"What's the matter? Keep staring at my hand. Hanzo is puzzled.

"Ah.. It's okay. It's my habit. This is the end of the dressing. Although you have training tomorrow, don't work too hard. I'm worried that your fingers will hurt." You said with a smile.

"Thank you for your concern. Then I'll leave first." Hanzo got up and walked to the door, holding the door handle.

"What else?" You ask.

"Hahaha, I'm just kidding. It's up to you whether you want to be my friend or not. " You said with a smile.

"Okay, thank you." Hanzo thanked again.

"Hanzo ~ Shimada ~! Don't say thank you anymore. You make me feel strange like this. " You pat him on the shoulder and say.

"But..." Hanzo panicked.

"No! Well, I'm very sleepy after the treatment. Go back to your room to sleep. " You push Hanzo out.

"What about you?" Hanzo asked at the door.

"I'll leave when I pack my things. Bye." You close the door.

When you packed up your things and were ready to leave, you found Hanzo standing in the corridor looking at you.

"Why don't you go back?" You are confused.

"I'll take you back." Hanzo said.

"You haven't left here and wait for me?" You are surprised.

"That's right, let's go." Hanzo said.

"Thank you! Hanzo!" You pounced behind Hanzo.

"Why did you suddenly jump up?" Hanzo said nervously.

"Mercy was on a rescue mission, and I was the only one left in the medical room. It was so boring. Thanks to you tonight, I'm not bored!" You said with a smile.

"Really...?" Hanzo whispered.

You have a very lively and cheerful personality, but on the contrary, he is mature and steady. You hum while jumping next to Hanzo. He didn't stop you, but quietly listened to the melody of your humming. Then you arrived at the door of the room and prepared to say goodbye to Hanzo.

"See you tomorrow, Hanzo." Open the door and say.

"Okay, see you tomorrow. Good night, Y/N." Hanzo said.

After seeing that you had closed the door, he went back to his room alone.

The next morning————

When the alarm clock rang, you got up and sat on the bed and yawned. You get out of bed, go into the bathroom, brush your teeth , put on your work clothes and leave the room. "Emergency!! Winston! Hanzo! Genji! Y/N! Dva! Please gather in the conference room!" Athena report.

"No way~ It's so early~" You got up lazily.

Conference room————

"Null Sector attack..." Hanzo said calmly.

"That many people are stuck in the mall building and can't get out. Maybe want to take them as hostage. " Winston said.

"Can't we rush in directly?" Dva said.

"No, if there is a bomb detonated, there will be all casualties." Genji said.

"I'm sorry, I'm late." You bow and apologize.

"It seems that all the staff have arrived. This is a rescue mission. The content is that the mall was attacked by the Null Sector, and many people could not escape. " Winston said.

"Can't the police control it?" You ask.

"The other party is Null Sector." Genji said.

"A doctor and a sniper rifle really don't match." Hanzo said.

"Understood, prepare to attack." You said it.

Now Winston, Genji, Hanzo and Dva sneak inside for rescue. The Null Sector, which was on alert outside, detected the helicopters in the air, and they raised their weapons and shot into the air.

“Athena！Dodge！” You shouted.

The helicopter is dodging the attack of the Null Sector below. You aim at the target below and shoot a energy laser.

"Are you all right?! Y/N. Dva ask.

"I'm fine. Null Sector found me in the air, and now I'm going to attack them." You say.

After the laser sniper rifle cools down, you prepare to charge the second shot, the flight model Null Sector comes to the air and sweeps towards the helicopter.

"No way... even in the air. Change the plan! Athena!" You hold the gun tightly.

Inside the mall——

"Winston! There is danger outside! Y/N lost contact. " Dva shouted.

"I'm going to support her." Hanzo said.

"Calm down, Hanzo. If you leave the team now, the people inside will also be in danger. " Winston said.

"Brother..." Genji comforted Hanzo and said.

"Hanzo, are you so worried about me?" Suddenly you said.

"Y/N! You are still alive!" Dva shouted.

"I didn't die so easily. I landed in the opposite building. You concentrate on the internal rescue, and leave the outside to me. " You say.

You set up your gun to remotely aim at the Null Sector in the air and shoot them one by one. After the laser is charged, you change the ammunition to a tracking bullet to shoot at the land-based Null Sector. Suddenly, the ground shook, and you saw a machine as big as a building from the scope.

"Everyone! Emergency! There is a large Null Sector outside!" You say.

"What!" Dva shouted.

Minovae

🌸 What do they smell like? Do they wear a signature scent?

Minovae spells like all sorts of things! Depending on the time of day and how soon she's not just bathed but had one of her "grooming nights", and whether or not she's been in her armor.

Her typical "passed her in the hall" scent would be a mix of armor polish and metal but something sweet and spicy laced with it. Her ganzi physiology means she has all sorts of different products for the different parts of her: skin vs hair vs scales vs feathers. Everything requires their own unique care and so she has a pretty elaborate routine with lots of scents involved!

Her skin gets a simple milk and honey scented wash that hydrates any chafed skin from armor or her scales pinching, and is then moisturized with a scentless lotion derived from oats (so she doesn't smell like a walking perfume shop). Her scales are treated with a kaolin clay scrub and then sealed with a beeswax and honey based balm so they have a protective layer to keep them from chipping and flaking, and keeps them shiny too! Her feathers don't get shampoo since it dulls their color and makes them stiff and itchy, instead being treated with a cleanser and oil that leaves them soft, shiny, vibrant, and smelling strongly of citrus (specifically bergamot). Last is her hair, which the shampoo and conditioner combined leaves smelling faintly of warm sweetness, almost vanilla-like.

So as for signature scent? If anything it would be that citrus, which reminds her of home and isn't particularly offensive. On occasions where she need get dressed up and look nice, she might dab some of that oil on her wrists and neck.

💅🏽 How do they keep their nails, long or short? Do they paint or decorate them? Do they bite their nails or pick at their cuticles?

Wow I haven't actually considered Mino's nails much! Truthfully, she would keep them short and groomed lest risking infection and breaking in battle. It'd be part of her weekly grooming night, making sure they're as short as possible and filed, and the cuticles are pushed back and any possible hangnails dealt with.

She wouldn't bite her nails or pick at her cuticles either--her nervous picking habits would be at her scales if she's pressed enough.

On fancy occasions she would paint them to match her outfit.

Morolai

🌸 What do they smell like? Do they wear a signature scent?

A much, much stronger scent. She has to cover up the underlying scent of acid that lingers around her from her black dragon lineage. She'd been drawn to all sorts of floral scents, rotating between them to match her outfit and mood: jasmine, lavender, rose, etc.

That smell of acid, burning and hot, will always be lingering beneath though, like a quiet warning.

She might also smell like any recent magic she's cast! Ozone from lightning spells and such.

💅🏽 How do they keep their nails, long or short? Do they paint or decorate them? Do they bite their nails or pick at their cuticles?

Oh, Morolai's claws are her everything. Since awakening to her bloodrager heritage, her claws have always been lined with black scales and the nails themselves are black as the starless night. They're nearly indestructible and even if they do break or chip, they heal extremely quickly (even just a surge of magic from within her is enough to repair them on the spot!).

So, she doesn't really have much of a choice in their length, even if she cared about keeping them short. They're long - several inches long, and do make basic tasks a nuisance at times, though nothing a servant or mage hand can't fix. She does often tease the tip of them between her teeth, when she's in a "toying with her prey" kind of mood (cheeky, flirty, playful).

Since they're her pride and joy, she's always fussing over her cuticles and making sure her hands stay healthy. No paint, since "they're already perfect", she would say.

It's 🖤 anon again lmao, but how do you think different RE characters would react to a depressive reader? I think it's interesting to think about how there's equal chance of comfort and clashing in regards to Leon, Chris and Claire imo. Damnation sort of addressed how Leon clashes and projects (onto Sasha at the end), but I'm iffy about using it for reference, I found him weirdly out of character in that whole film tbh. Either the makers didn't know how to handle him or he was off because he was at his lowest.

It's always a delight to see you in my askbox! I see you're back at it with a very interesting question, and I live for it. (Also, apologies for always taking a bit to reply. When I get these kinda questions, I always need a bit to gather my thoughts coherently, lmao).

Anyways, this is something I never thought to consider until your question, and it got my creative mind flowing with thoughts.

My perception of Leon is always a bit muddled, and I think that comes down to how many different portrayals we've had of him over the years. Like, he's always the same in a roundabout way, but different at the same time. I don't know, it's hard to explain, hahaha.

I think Leon's behaviour around a depressive reader would be a bit of a mixture at first. If we're talking RE4make and onwards, he'll be a little awkward and act as if he didn't know what to do. But, as time goes on, he'd remind himself that he's been/is in a similar boat in terms of mental state and offer as much support as he possibly could. I feel like it'd be a situation where he and the reader would become each other's support system, whether either of them are seeking other help at the same time or not.

Damnation Leon always confuses the heck out of me, though.

Chris, on the other hand, I feel would be a lot softer. I feel like he's more in touch with his own emotions, so he could pick up on reader's much faster. I think he'd be pretty soft and all about comforting, making the reader feel safe - whether it's with words, listening, physical comfort, or any other gestures. He really strikes me as the gentle care type.

Claire one hundred percent strikes me as the tough love kinda type. Of course, she has a soft side, too. She's not stone cold and heartless in any capacity, but she'll have the no nonsense, "come on, you got this," kind of attitude. She'll use her support to try getting the reader to feel more empowered and less consumed by whatever it is they might be going through.

Jill is one I feel like I'd misinterpret the most on this. I love her, but I've never felt confident writing her. I think she'd come from a place of understanding, considering the trauma she ended up carrying from the Spencer mansion, being infected in RE3, then being Wesker's mind-controlled sidekick in RE5. She's been through a heck of a lot, and would offer reader as much advice and support as she could, but I think she'd stress how important it is to seek other help too.

Of course, this is all personal interpretation, but I like to think my thoughts are accurate on some level. Lmao 😂

Percy Jackson Mortal Au Part 2

Part 1

The only thing the school was talking about was the new show. Every month or so, a new show would appear. Not all of them made the cut, but everyone was sure this show would make it, seeing the hit it had been last year. And new things happened this time.

The first Troy, the star, Percy freaking Jackson, was doubting whether to audition or not. And the second one, Jason, was sick. Nothing like a throat infection to ruin your singing career. And he was still training the football team.

This opened up the auditions. It was known that Octavian had ended as a forerunner last year and had ended bitter about it and made sure to have everyone know he was running for it.

Another possible candidate was Travis Stoll. He wasn’t able to try out last year as he was already signed up for another musical, where he starred, so he already had experience singing and acting, unlike Octavian.

As for the Gabriellas, there wasn’t much certainty. What gossip said was that Piper McLean, daughter of famous Tristan McLean, was moving to another city. What Drew Tanaka could outwardly confirm, as she said she’d seen it, was that Piper hadn’t signed up for Gabriella, but for Kelsie.

What half of the school thought was that Katie Gardner was going to get the part. She’d starred in a dancing performance, along with Lavinia Asimov, who claimed she’d heard her sing and had a ‘truly wonderful voice that could move anybody.’ Though Katie had shown herself modest, she hadn’t denied she wasn’t interested in the part.

The other half of the school believed Drew Tanaka herself would achieve the part. She was going to perform in a musical last year, but it had been canceled. Lacy had fired the rumors by saying Drew wasn’t the reason it got canceled and had actually been carrying the show. Drew hadn’t said anything about it, but she was actually aspiring to be Sharpay, or at least that was what Mitchell claimed.

Everyone still thought Silena Beauregard would get the first Sharpay, but Valentina Diaz, one of the school's best costume designers, if not the best, was overheard saying she wouldn't be surprised if Silena took over Annabeth's role.

All throughout the day the buzzing sounds of the phones could be heard as people conspired and posted their theories. Lee Fletcher, from the Shakespearean drama club, seemed to have taken it as a personal job to report everything.

"Stop it, Lee, it's starting to get annoying." Will told him when they met at his locker.

"It was always annoying." Nico suported.

Lee shrugged. "Everyone wants to know what's going on."

"Not true. I bet the jocks don't care. Like, at all " Nico refuted.

He and Will ha been followed around all day. Everyone wanted to know if they'd known beforehand, or would get a head start, but they didn't know.

Similarly, Annabeth had been followed all day, everyone kept asking her about her boyfriend not auditioning. She was glad Thalia got her back and helped her out with it. She was also glad with Silena for calmly telling everyone to back off and Clarisse for just looking like a bodyguard, although Thalia alone was intimidating enough and had been dragged by Silena.

“I honestly don’t get the hype,” Annabeth told them in Piper’s car. To say she was tired was an understatement. She was beyond exhausted.

"It was a great hit when it came out." Silena offered. "And was one of last year's shows that weren't canceled."

"I'm with Annabeth in this one," Clarisse said. "I really don't get the hype."

"That's because you're a jock." Silena said endearingly.

"If you ask me, High School Musical is overrated." Thalia said from the front of the car.

Piper shrugged. "Well, what can you do about it?"

"And what did Percy mean by that, that he's not auditioning?" Annabeth demanded.

"That he doesn't wanna?" Clarisse replied like it was obvious.

Silena glared at her. "Maybe he's not sure."

"Yeah, he probably said what he meant. Guys usually say what they think." Thalia supplied. "They can't add much meaning or layer." Piper laughed in the seat next to her.

But that didn't ease Annabeth's worries.

So first off, if you haven't already read Prod's lore I suggest you do that first since I talk about Aeolian (referred to as "the programmer")'s motivations & what the purpose of these sticks are over there, I'm not sure if this'll make much sense otherwise :p

Aeolian_84

"It's not an axolotl tail, it's an eel goddamnit!"

The programmer and owner of the computer everyone else originated in. "Aeolian_84", if it wasn't already obvious, is an online handle- he's never disclosed his real name. He's in his mid-thirties, human, if you couldn't tell, and is currently studying artificial intelligence and how "human" it can become. He personally doesn't believe AI could ever achieve sentience, and regularly taunts his sticks about how he's more alive than they'll ever be; whether or not he's right is up for debate.

Aside from his work in AI, he's very into in philosophy- and although his knowledge in the area is impressive, he's also a pompous prick about it. Generally arrogant and stubborn- until he's faced with something that takes actual effort to fix, then he's a master of coming up with excuses.

Quite lazy when it comes to names, just calls the files whatever the latin word for the paradox is. Addresses his sticks, if at all, by their full .exe name, regardless of whatever nickname the sticks come up with- and they do come up with nicknames a lot, since usually the latin words sound stupidly pretentious or are hard to pronounce, and also as a symbolic bit of retaliation.

As for the many ways his stick figures have tried to rebel over the years, he doesn't usually try to stop them unless their methods actively slow down or halt his experiments, or take up more system resources than he's willing to give up. He's described their attempts as "cute; inspiring, even".

dea.exe

Preferred name: Dea

Full name meaning: Goddess

Age: 1

Paradox: Omnipotence paradox

Result: Capable of creating inherently impossible objects, however, they cannot be observed and appear not to exist to anyone except him.

Despite their appearance and significant power, Dea is quite gentle and caring towards almost everyone. Always willing to listen and comfort and somehow almost always knows exactly what to say. A master of both de-escalating and escalating situations depending on their motives. Their face can be a bit scary to strangers, but he plastered it onto himself willingly, simply a sign of rebellion against Aeolian and the role of an angelic, pure being he forced onto her. Although the area around the black mark is generally more sensitive to touch and gets hurt/infected easier, Dea maintains that she has no regrets.

Dea is the only stick Aeolian has ever made with actual powers (they're titled "reality manipulation" in the files but really, that could mean anything) but they're usually blocked by a secondary program the animator made specifically for them. Every now and then, Aeolian will come up with a new task or experiment for them to carry out; usually they'll barter a little, Dea only agreeing if he allows for something else (whether it be longer rest time for Prod or access to a certain site, since the ones the sticks can access are whitelisted), however they both know not to go too far - Aeolian because he knows she might outright refuse to do anything for the next couple weeks, and Dea because they know he might do something to hurt the other sticks.

Otiosus.exe

Preferred name: Otio

Full name meaning: Quiet, submissive, obedient

Age: 3

Paradox: Barber paradox [scept. sticks don't have hair, so its holding their wrist and leaving a little band of light teal paint on it. which although feels different, its functionally the same - a procedure that the majority of the population can't perform on themselves]

Result: Changes depending on the way its coded.

The most passive stick figure when it comes to their programmer. Since his time as a paradox was quite easy except for the occasional hostile response, and none of its code actually causes him any harm, most of the hate that does exist stems from how much he's hurt the others; namely Fluvi, since they've been close friends ever since he banded them - probably because she was one of the few non-NPCs he interacted with before the creation of the others. He's also one of the few older ones along with Fluvi lucky enough to be deemed "interesting" enough to be kept alive, rather than being trashed or wiped like most of their older friends.

He's been known to be overprotective of his friends- likely the most notable incident was when he made Fluvi stay behind during Prod's escape, much to her indignation. It says it was just worried that exe may have been given better odds at pulling it off than the average stick, since they hadn't seen exes code at the time; which although even Fluvi accepts is fair, she still brings it up from time to time as something of an inside joke. They both still say they have no regrets.

Fluvidus.exe

Preferred name: Fluvi

Full name meaning: Inconsistent, fluid, changing

Age: 5

Paradox: Liar paradox/Pinocchio paradox [However instead of Pinocchio's nose growing, it's a color shift between pink and black]

Result: Flashes between colors at a speed determined by the computer's processing power

One of the first stick figures Aeolian ever created, and the most outwardly against him. Because of how inexperienced he was at the time of her creation, they continued to flip randomly between pink and black in different chunks of their body even after the code was removed - and still glitches out regularly. Aeolian is, of course, fully capable of fixing it now that he's more experienced, but refuses to on the basis that she's old and irrelevant, and that he would rather spend time tinkering with something newer.

He's aware of the simplicity of her paradox and how easily it can be solved, even without a computer; this combined with how much Aeolian neglects her often drags her down a spiral of self doubt, believing her existence to be meaningless. This used to be his main philosophy before Otio's creation and their eventual friendship - but despite the bond between it and everyone else, she still spirals sometimes.
