now im in the final stretch!! its time to play Reginald's route!! this time i will not look at the ending guide like i did for my other playthroughs bc idrc abt which ending i get first (i'll use the guide for getting the other ending)

Okay, basically we have du, which is informal you and you use it for like, your peers I guess and people you know well

Then we have Sie, which is formal and you use it with people who have some kind of authority and/or power over you (employers n teachers n stuff like that) and with strangers or people you only want to maintain a 'professional' relationship to. Also, yeah you have to capitalize it when you write it down bc theres also sie as in, she and sie as in, they

Last but not least theres Euch, which you also have to capitalize. I didnt actually know how this was properly used until I looked it right before I started writing this because Ive never heard it being used outside of fiction occasionally, and if youve read my previous posts I probably said something wrong about it. From what I can tell its used for like, royals, aristocrats, people with nobility titles or whatever you wanna call those leeches, so thats why Lizzy n Ciel use Euch to refer to eachother that makes sense. That being said, I still think its kinda strange that Lizzy uses it for Ciel while also trying to get him to be less formal or whatever. Like, I can buy that Ciel would do that but Lizzy ?? Then again, she grew up as a woman in victorian england so thats probably why. HOWEVER the mafia guy addressing Ciel with Euch is still funny like bro, youre kicking the shit out of him his stupid nobility title doesnt mean shit now

Anyway, now that thats out of the way, I have two things I would like to point out:

Number 1: when Madame Red gets pissy w/ Lau for pretending to know who the Undertaker was towards the start of the fourth episode she uses du, when she had previously only used Sie bc yknow, even though they seem to be on p good terms, their relationship is purely professional at the end of the day. Now, I was gonna go on this whole tangent about some incomprehensible bullshit in order to explain this or whatever, but the reason for this probably really simple: its weird when you get upset enough to yell at someone but still use Sie. Thats it. Now, idk if this is particularly common but I actually remember doing something like that with my therapist lol like, I usually address her w/ Sie because yknow, ~Profesionalism~ and when I got really upset during one of our sessions and started yelling at her I switched over to du

Oh wait, I just remembered in the second episode that scene where Lau insinuates that he would do something "indecent" to Ciel and Madame Red starts yelling at him, she uses Sie for him there ?? Idk maybe the script is just inconsistent and Im putting too much thought into all of this

The second thing I wanted to talk about is: Sebastian has been referred to as Sie pretty consistently so far and like, I know thats gonna change soon because theres no way Grell is gonna keep trying to be professional or whatever once shes out of diguise, but still. As of the start of episode 4, the only people to use du for him are Ciel and that mafia guy and thats weird to me. Like, it makes sense for the servant trio to do that because hes In Charge and all that, and it makes sense for Grell because even though theyre 'peers' in the sense that theyre both butlers, they are strangers and dont really know eachother. But like, why is Madame Red doing it isnt she a baroness?? This would make sense in the modern day because you would address like, your friends personal assistant or whatever with Sie, regardless of wether or not youre "above" them in some weird way, because youre strangers and you wanna be polite to the people sour friend employs but. this is the fucken victorian times man, Idk a lot about that era but Im pretty sure they were big on this kind of weird classism

I was gonna end it here bit then I thought what if no one wants to du him because theyre intimidated or smth. Like, I know he can be intimidating but is that supposed to be 'a part of him' in the same way that being really hot is or what. long and disorganised dark shadows update

once again spoilers for this 50 yo show//

first of all i am stupid and got the last episode for the dream curse storyline wrong. i think i wrote down 563 and it is actually 536? and it took me a minute to notice. decided to stop at 560 bc its a good number. the adam storyline is very long which i find daunting, so it's good that there is also that to break it up. i have been watching it fairly slowly but i will still take a medium-sized break before continuing.

i have been thinking about what the best way to watch this show in 2023 is, and how the ways we watch tv have changed over the years. i usually am kind of anti-bingeing but i feel like this weirdly benefits from it? for me at least. maybe because it was daily and not weekly. that said its funny how repetitive it is. was thinking about this especially this time around- they reaallly dragged out that dream and that tape by dr lang, i feel like they repeated each of them about 100 times i could probably recite them. luckily i like repetition but i imagine it would drive some other people (esp modern day viewers who might be bingeing this) crazy.

anyway some scattered thoughts under the break-

i love cursed paintings/art-based horror so i liked that there was a bit of that, but maybe they could have spent more time with it. was very happy to see my good friend rev trask come back as a ghost like i specifically said i wanted him to last time. please come back again! angelique magically forcing tony to be in love with her was very fucked up! again i wish we had spent more time exploring how fucked up it was. elizabeth turning into naomi was obviously great i esp loved when it got kind of incestuous with her mistaking roger for joshua- there was already an uncomfortable subtext there esp after the casting choices for 1795 it makes perfect sense to bring that out. i am not super into nicholas as a character yet- he seems mostly instrumental, to make angelique go from villain to victim, which admittedly is fun.

excited for vampire angelique and it does make sense to go there. excited for non-barnabas vampires in general. speaking of, how do vampires work, actually? barnabas is suddenly worried about the guy she attacked turning into a vampire- but has this been a problem before? barnabas has attacked many people, who just died unceremoniously. when he was feeding off maggie it did seem like she was turning, but then it stopped. and obviously biting people does have an effect on them, but so far it's been used to enslave them/make them familiars, not fully turn them (something i really liked in previous storylines). either an inconsistency or something that needs to be elaborated on.

i dont have any full thoughts on the adam storyline as a frankenstein adaptation, since it hasnt finished yet. obv the way it was tied into curing vampirism was extremely silly and nonsensical but thats great i love that. didnt really care for sam going blind but it was fun when i made the connection to the book, in which frankenstein's creature befriends a blind man. leonardo dicaprio pointing meme. found myself thinking a lot of about adam's language development, and the ways in which it is probably not realistic, and wouldn't it be cool if someone did tell a similar story but had read up on language acquisition and made an effort to model the different stages etc etc. but i realise this is actually not something anyone cares about at all.

obv adams crush on carolyn is extremely uncomfortable, and it has now gotten to the point in frankenstein where the creature kind of turns into an incel. rip. was going insane whenever matthew talked to adam about women- first carolyn and then vicky. all that stuff about "imagine if someone took away caroline wouldnt you feel bad, think about how kidnapping women makes men who love them feel :/" when you could perhaps just explain to him that vicky and carolyn are people and what about how they themselves feel. blah blah this is from the 60s.

ANOTHER trailer (over)analysis!!!!

they are SPOILING ME, y’all... they put out another new trailer for the bob’s burgers movie today... a lot of it is stuff we have seen before but there’s a considerable amount of new footage, like two dozen screenshots’ worth. i’ve made one, two, three, four analysis posts for previous trailers with new footage! i’m drawing connections back to them in this post so they might be helpful to look at first (or at least familiarity with the trailers themselves will make this post make more sense)

a little more context for the scene where the kids are in the dumbwaiter/pulley thing off of felix’s treehouse. gene (seemingly accidentally) pulls the lever, and.....

it starts moving away from the treehouse. question, though...where is the lever we just saw? there’s no bluish-grey wood anywhere in these shots...is this a deliberate misdirect or just a trailer inconsistency?

more from the musical number with the ducks in the kiddie pool at the rv park. at this point i’m POSITIVE these people are wonder wharf employees and this is where at least some of them live. i’m guessing this is a REALLY IMPORTANT scene also because it’s in all the trailers and the dude in the cream polo is on the poster and also in the front of this scene (which, based on what i know about musicals, is probably the big finish for the musical number).

bob and linda happily dancing down the street. this is probably at the beginning of the movie seeing as there’s no sinkhole or grand re-re-re-re-opening banner. this is probably from the same musical number as this shot from trailer 1 and possibly that over-the-window one from trailer 2. also maybe the takeout bag is for the banker (to appease him, most likely), since first oceanside bank is across the street? maybe their high-five is because he liked the food. maybe it’s even that breakfast burger we see bob lovingly stroking? in that scene tina is talking about big things happening over the summer and this song seems to be about it being “the summer of our lives”.

same, gene, same. pretty sure this is felix’s treehouse (the wood background + slanted wall is kind of a giveaway). i don’t THINK that’s part of his sailor suit bc that seems to be a true navy blue while the thing gene is rubbing his face all over is a lighter blue with a bit more of a turquoise/teal undertone. might be a blanket. it’s in the background of this scene where louise is crawling across his bed and it looks like there’s just a sheet on the bed.

felix trying to adjust his jacket or something. cute. this room looks like it’s the same room where that merman statue is, based on the gold railing and the wallpaper color and pattern.

i don’t think we’ve seen this particular shot of louise falling into the sinkhole before. if we did, i didn’t notice she was wearing (rain?) boots. makes sense that the sinkhole might be muddy since it was caused by a busted water main. also a great aesthetic choice to make her boots yellow because it completes a triadic color palette (pink hat + cyan pajamas + yellow boots) and cyan + yellow combine into green like her regular dress

previously we’ve seen a bit of this scene where tina is with a sparkly purple glowing jimmy jr. at wonder wharf, but it was her shoving him into the game booth so i didn’t notice he’s also translucent which makes me think a) it’s not part of the friend fiction scene where they’re riding horses and b) tina is actually at wonder wharf, and she’s imagining he’s there with her. i wonder what her shoving him means...maybe she’s just trying to focus on something else (probably related to the mystery arc), maybe she’s focused on another boy?

i don’t believe we’ve seen this particular shot of linda, bob, and teddy with the burger cart being chased through wonder wharf before. i’m still wondering what the hell they did to get an angry mob chasing them.

you walked into the kitchen all sluggishly and rubbed your eyes

u forgot u were taking care of ur cousins dog while he was out of town... her name was suki

the park was about a 10 minute drive from ur house

and it was actually a really pretty park...

there was a lake and really pretty flowers everywhere and alot of gazebos and benches

and a nice open field of greenery

it basically looked like a park out of a movie

so you weren’t suprised that there was a decent amount of people there

but not too much thankfully.. or else you would’ve driven to another park with less people

you got out the car with suki and put her on the leash

it was a really nice day out... the sun was shining but it wasnt too hot or cold

you led her onto the sidewalk and she began sniffing at the grass around her

whenever a few people would pass they would coo at how adorable she was

it wasnt until 5 minutes later that ur eyes locked onto a figure infront of the lake

you were just walking with suki in silence.. admiring the scenery

until u caught sight of a boy

u could only see his back but u noticed the camera over his shoulder

he was standing in one of those photographer poses where like one leg is bent and kind of out while his back is hunched to get that perfect angle of a shot

he was infront of the sidewalk railings where the lake begins and he was taking photos of the scenery across from it

it was a beautiful sight honestly

there was another sidewalk but behind it was colorful trees and blossoming flowers and bushes

u understood why he’d take pictures of it

you didnt see his face but u kind of acknowledged the boy before walking past him with suki

basically thinking he was just another passerby that you noticed making a single appearance in your life and never expecting to see him again

OH BOY U WERE WRONG

the next time you see him is 3 days later at the same park

you were walking suki again but this time at 7pm after dinner

the sun was almost done setting so the sky was getting darker but there was still a hint of the orange circle peeking from below

this time you walked further down the sidewalk path towards the scattered gazebos

and you noticed the same boy again

this time he was sat in one of the gazebos with his tiny camera in his hands

his back was hunched over again and he was looking closely at the pictures he had taken

u just acknowledged him in ur head AGAIN before u thought nothing of it and continued ur walk with suki

so the NEXT time u saw him was another 2 days later at 7pm again

you wanted to take suki on a quick walk

but you got tired after like 10 minutes so you sat down on a blanket u brought

suki was just laying next to u while u were on ur phone

it wasnt fully dark out yet and there was still a few people in the park

the fairy lights that were placed around were lit up already

it was super pretty and the weather was nice

after staring at ur phone for a few mins u looked up just to look around

and u saw Him again

and he was like 40 feet away from u so he looked so tiny

but u could tell it was him because of his blond hair and black coat he always wore

2. This is the issue with these shows. No one is saying that fucked up shit cannot be shown. There’s a film about a woman who is raped and she falls in love with her rapist (because he was masked but i think we find out later that she knows. Binoche is in it.) I have no desire for that film—i think it’s by a man and i extra dont care—but I hear it’s sort of powerful for many. I heard it was a good film. But the act itself is always eschewed and the conflict comes from how fucking ridiculous it is especially finding out that she knows. The power imbalance adn the possibility. They may not have handled it in a way I would have cared for but it was there.

There’s simply no imagination because these people do not care that much and aren’t great writers and filmmakers because they simply do not have to be. Sorry.

The industry doesn’t rely on the best they rely on efficiency (this is everywhere.) You can tell by the camera angles, the editing, the camera itself (idk if it is multicam but the flatness is typical soap flatness without the glowboxes to soften their faces.) Simple constant lighting. Now the surroundings are mostly beautiful. But even to some of the costumes. And those edits are abysmal, some of that camera work.

So with all that said even with the couple I extremely enjoy I see its (H4) faults. Add into that a lazily thrown together “shocking” love and if they are trying to get us to feel a type of way about its sexiness they fail. They are not barbarians, they are smart human beings either making work or deciding to. We all have diff cultures but we have fucking sense in what is respectful and not. And if we don’t we fucking learn. You cannot excuse things and say “oh culture” when you have 0 idea of that culture or actual people who are radical etc and are fighting against it. Additionally the word westerner is an ignorant term when referring to people in the US or UK who are black. Because we are not. We extend sympathy to other groups and empathy since we know so there is no inherent power imbalance between a black viewer and their subject. Don’t suggest that because it’s wrong and ahistorical and contextless.

FIRST the fallacy of representation as freedom makes people fucking complacent, individualistic, and doesn’t let them think critically. Consumption and discourse around consumption is not helping material conditions of the marginalized communities in your home, the black ones who are ignored, those intersectionalized in these communities. Groups talk about art and what it means for them outside of just what we see and because we also don’t have access to a bunch of Thai reviews or what movements or going on we are less likely to know if we don’t FUCKING SEARCH for it. Because art is constant...which leads me to....

Representation is difficult. It matters and it doesn’t.

Tthese shows are not meant to overturn the LGBTQ+ community.

There are queer filmmakers and artists in these countries. Deep illustrious film careers or even TV that is moving and deliberate. We can even see it with the dude from “your name engraved” in their short series he was in beforehand. BL is no wa pejorative because it is simply not “qu**r” storytelling whatever that means. But know it has always existed everywhere and there are also out artists or radical artists in all these countries who do no respect mediums that are cash-grabs and poorly made.

ex: As much as “Like in the Movies” sort of isnt for me and is a bit hamfisted you can tell how much love goes into that. Love of the characters, acting, and message. Yes it’s cringey to see some of the lines (like very tbh subtlety wasnt exactly their strong suit) and yea naming them after lenin and marx is just 0ihgoaudgijposkagjihou BUT GUESS WHAT? THEY FUCKING DID IT. THEY TRIED. And class was a large component as well bc u cant fuckin ignore it. These countries in SEA or even SA do not have as big budget for even mainstream dramas—though things are changing and that’s bc REVENUE like revenue from kpop is fucking huge for SK and again so much about that is bc of what happened in their history from japanese imperialism to WWII to the US—so for “queer” stuff it is sort of now important to make that an export and it sure is one. Not only globally or to the west but a lot of these places make their money within asia (duh!) outside of their countries. OBVIOUSLY. so BL is a way to output and gain money. The thing is, it doesnt seem to be put back into the industry at all. For people in all these countries to make works that aren’t for mainstream or wont reach as many people there’s a difference between trying and just shoving shit in your face and going here it’s gay you like it right? Another thing: did you guys know thailand was never colonized? You should look it up. There’s little hints of things in ITSAY to represent french influence still. Isnt that fascinating? Find out why. It’s certainly interesting that the representation, though damaging and dubious many times and also incorrect like any media, is huge in asia and this isnt a commodity here (the US) exactly. A lot of that has to do with colonial ideas of gender of which I am sure. But listen………lmao

It’s the same here lets say daniel kaluuya winning the oscar for the film about the BPP. I heard it was okay and not too offensive but it still isnt’ enough. Considering a lot of these actors are rich and then just dip that’s another problem. Mainstream isn’t what sustains marginalized art ever. It doesn’t change in the vast ways we think it does. What changes is the people of these groups pushing, fighting, forcing and then capitalism trying to make it work under capitalism. It will not. It cannot.

This is why artists and labels often don’t mix or you see people like Sonic Youth doing whatever they want and pissing off their label but making them give them money. Same with Nirvana. Vince Staples. The thing is they can fight and make good shit but what capitalism helps people….not care? They don’t respect the audience? We’re getting those returns on poor executed product placement, lighting, editing, framing, fucking acting. And you surewon’t see mixed black asians in these shows. WHY R U is the oNLY one i have seen it in and he just disappears (but that was pretty cool.) so who the fuck is this representing? And before you start: asian countries are not homogenous the way we believe them to be. There are marginalized communities outside of even mixed people that are harmed. So you can skrrt cause on that one: you’re wrong buddy. But it gives us the IDEA of a paradise which is what they NEED.With representation and visibility comes consequence and responsibility as artists. What it allows them to do is coast and not think complexly because why should they; it’s mostly the fantasies of some older woman who probably has money and much less interaction with the world. It’s bonkers. And what that allows even further is for them to say YOU ARE THE THING THAT YOU CONSUME and the THING THAT YOU CONSUME IS YOURS. It is not, it is not your identity, form a close bond but figure it the fuck out. Especially for adults who are hellbent on twisting their minds into pretzels and can’t acknowledge what’s just laziness in art and not giving a fucking shit. Truly.

There’s damage that has been done from Parasite as he was supported by CJE&M and the bullshit obsession america had and eveyrone’s poor interpretation of it if they are rich. BJH is a socialist and he is a filmmaker. He has made films that are outstanding and cost a lot of money. But now a fear for indie filmmakers is just not being able to raise that much or have that much attention. Getting funding that helps them instead of expecting the Next Big Thing that is a fad because capitalism is trash. Yes this funneling of money is absolutely harmful to us artists. Even buying in is strategic. Additionally, that film is probs one of the most radical films to have that wide release and accolade (unlike “Sorry to Bother You” which i have a lot of thoughts about. One being that asian exports are acceptable but black ones are not. This is an overall art critique and global media critique. Blackness is removed, not respected.) However, filmmaking isn’t green, it can’t be socialist, and it’s a lot of work. They used tons and tons and TONS of water to do a huge beautiful feat but we still know there is a cost. We have to figure that out because it shouldn’t be. It doesn’t go back into the crew’s pockets the way it should and the work becomes that of the director’s and actors solely. It’s fucking hard. We have to do our part but it doesn’t mean we are doing it perfectly. We just have to try to do better. So does BJH cos he needs to not be a misogynist but anyways i digress.

additionally and this is something some users fail to understand: people in the media sphere generally have fucking money. I went to film school that was international with super fucking rich kids. Taiwanese kids, kids from south asia, china, thailand. They had money. No not upper middle class money, not “rich” money, not some paltry 1m that’s chump change. Fucking money. Fucking RICH-RICH. MILLIONAIRES. BILLIONAIRES. WHICH IS DISGUSTING MIGHT I ADD. The domestic people didn’t have the money for school (in the UK) and i am in a massive amount of debt like every other black student that went there. You do not understand how much money is needed to survive so people who turn to these crew positions even casting etc need this fucking money usually. OKAY. A lot of the people that do well in these dumb shows or even on a larger scale HAVE MONEY. The reason these industries are small and struggling is because of lack of people and lack of resources to independent shit because oh gee it takes money to make things.

Why should I try? Well you don’t have to really if you have money or a name. Yet...

We can tell when like those Tik Tok shows or DCOMs dont give a shit (anymore.) You know how frustrated we get when content for young people is garbage? Well, see, BL is literally that under that system. Occasionally we will get something good now but there is virtually no need in any sector in the world at this point to truly figure out how to make it better and what to do to enhance artistic literacy, outreach, teaching people new things, getting people from these communities there and having true realistic says. Art and culture is IMPERATIVE TO WORLD LIBERATION but not when it is so stiffly trying to bend to capital’s idea of progressiveness. No. Neoliberalism. No.

That’s why in a way ITSAY is a huge feat; it takes from films etc and they clearly had money (the actors rae rich too which….lmaooooo j’aime pas) but it was a respected fucking script, acting was important, blocking, framing. There’s very little to critique as a visual medium for that because I understand what they are trying to do, their market is going to be mostly young girls, but they RESPECT THE FUCKING AUDIENCE. And guess what guys? You can make money from it!!!! WOAH! Since that may be the only goal which is disgusting and repulsive.

HOWEVER AND THIS IS WHAT IS SAD: itsay is an ex of a great show however knowing the actors backgrounds and the pseudo trouble it stirred when they weren’t supporting people protesting against the coup in the summer it really put a damper on my enjoyment. And this is how we can see that:

a) it’s honestly just a show and a good one but b) now what?

These kids (actors, who are like idk 19? 20?) are rich and not saying anything while countless actors, who were filming, did. Even tul who has $$$$ and the thing is the protesting against the coup legitimately attacks the rich. As it should. The protests going on were cries for help, against a dictatorship and fucking coup, asking people to get fucking help for covid, having kids be able to live. There’s a mini on VICE about this and it probably doesnt go too in depth but there’s a kid in there who talks about his friends getting into drugs and how he just wants to make music, have fun, skateboard. And it’s harrowing to see. This is a direct example of what these things do and don’t do. Yea we know a good show is here, we know growing up and slice of life, we know this is a bit of escapism and idealism but the idealism is reflected in the way these actors also choose to live their lives. So what progress? To who? For who? How is this helping me? What purpose does it serve? I say ITSAY serves its purpose as a piece and a glimpse into possibility of growing up but i do not say it antagonizes a broader issue that needs to be relevant in some sense but simply is not. It’s very singleminded and, well, it’s sort of like “besides my sexuality, what do i have to worry about?” But for real humans like....a lot. I do not respect their decision at all.

Why can’t we do our jobs and make something decent and respect our audience? No time, gotta make that sweet sweet sweet cash baybee. Look how progressive we are! Don’t look at history and material conditions. Thanks in advance, management.

History 4 does not have that respect. Many of these shows do not. Sometimes we hit good, sometimes we don’t. But in the end we cannot settle. And I won’t. If I am critiquing something I will not be shy and if I am meant to enjoy something as escapism then these shows NEED to highlight that and it’s rare sometimes (the best twins is a good reminder like that show is bad but man do i Brain Empty when i turn it on and i like that and there’s not much in it that makes me want to kill myself from annoyance but there are transphobic jokes i dont love however the whole show is a comedy about this dude’s crazy homophobic sister and she is constantly positioned as wrong and they talk about the aforementioned trans women as the actor was in drag. Interesting that they can manage that, huh?)

Oh btw.....taiwan has a very complicated history but ignore all the bad stuff it’s good now you can kinda sorta get married and stuff. KMT? You know how i learned that? I care about human beings and read about it lmao. I am not Taiwanese and look at that. So now I have historical and DIALECTICAL~**~*~****~*~*~ context so i can judge it as an artist, a black woman from america, and from the knowledge i have to pick up on their history to see if this fits into a broader picture besides the micro-one of sexuality on an individualized level. And this is kinda where it comes full circle: these shows are not you, you are not them, they do not exist in a vacuum because nothing does. The failure to critique now means continuing on as it has and it will still do so. History and time are not linear in the sense we think it is. Someitmes things are better, sometimes things feel more austere. We are not living under liberation though and these shows are not going to do so. So they are not US nor are they for a nebulous “us” of which the groups are all fractured and have diff opinions anyway (my opinion as a black american is going to vary from an asian woman’s say and that could really clash and i do not feel solidarity with all those in every community i am for several reasons.)

Anyway my dissertation is that I ilke Muren and LiCheng a lot a lot and i like how cute they are and how truly dumb li cheng is. This is an example of mostly good writing, decent actors, nice chemistry, and sort of a calmness to them. And I super enjoy how Muren is pretty forward with LC in the sense that being together is like very important to truly be together. When he was like “no i didnt forget!” Or when LC asked him something in the office I forget it was 6 am and again i almost threw up and muren nodded and then LC leaned on him. Very cute. I want more of them tho i may have to skip that othre couple (the cameo the ones from MODC) but omfg the younger one HIS HAIR GREW SO MUCH HE LOOKS SO MATURE AND CUTE OMFGIJ0HUG9SAOGIJPKOAGJSIOHUAGIJP hahhaha the one good thing i will say about THEM.idk how old the actor is i figure he was young idk it makes me happy to see him he’s very cute. I thought Chloe's cat was one that had been abandoned? There were two others, but they died. Even so, all the Dance Moms families are privileged. Chloe earned that money, she's paying for college, which is more than some of them are.

when it comes to chloe paying for college though, I do wonder if she has taken out any loans. pepperdine certainly isn’t cheap, plus she seems to be living off-campus. but the lukasiaks probably are in a pretty good financial position when it comes to paying for college.

The problem isn’t that the lukasiaks are rich. I mean it was inevitable they’d all get rich after the show. The problem chloe shaming those who’s only goal is to make money while doing the same thing herself. That’s the problem.

I think you’re missing the point of the lukasiak wealth thing. Their wealth is not the problem. It’s chloes words and her contradictory actions that are the problem. She tries so hard to be woke by liking the right stuff on Twitter, posting the right stuff on her ig stories, and even named a plantAOC in order to prove that she’s not your typical money hungry capitalist. But then continues to take product endorsements. I mean ffs her latest vid was a glorified ad. At least own your wealth. Acknowledge you have privilege. okay I do get these criticisms, and I think naming her plant after aoc is kind of cringey. but I guess my thing is that, number one, I think people are really taking that quote of hers about money and running with it. chloe probably should’ve been more precise with her words, but looking at the quote again, she says, “And it’s not because they don’t agree with my political views. But, oftentimes, people who have differing political views, to me, all that says is that you care more about your money than you care about human rights. Umm that you care more about your political party and unimportant things more than you care about Black Lives Matter, LGBTQIA+ community, women, uh minorities.” 

she’s specifically talking about tr*mp supporters caring more about money and keeping money and accumulating money over human rights. looking at when that article was published (on my birthday coincidentally lol), it was only a month after the election. if you’ll recall, prior to the election, there were people (including quite a few celebrities) coming out about how they were going to vote for tr*mp because “biden is going to raise our taxes!!1!1!1!!!!” that stuff also tied in with the fear of biden ~ruining the economy~ or that he would be raising taxes to ~fund grifters sucking on the government’s teat~ or how he would be ~giving jobs away to illegals~ or whatever. it’s pretty callous to be more worried about all these hypothetical biden plans (that were rarely rooted in reality anyway) than about, you know, all the horrible shit that tr*mp did over 4 years. I think it’s kind of reading into that quote to say that chloe said, “money is Evil and Incompatible with caring about human rights,” and I think the context of the quote being about tr*mp supporters is also important.

now again, I get that some of the stuff that chloe is saying and doing can easily come off as her being your stereotypical ~cringe liberal~, as twitter would say. but I don’t think that chloe saying that tr*mp supporters were more worried about money than human rights in any way suggested that she was like advocating for class warfare or to abolish capitalism lol. if she has said stuff more specifically like that, please feel free to correct me.

Woooooooooo notes for ep 2 of my Minecraft Diaries Rewrite

Something i really appreciate abt the way the episodes have been structured so far is that we start off with a "cutscene" thats completely divorced from Aphmaus pov and then the rest of it is just focused on Aphmau and her perspective. Like, I really dont think theyll keep that sort of structure in the OG but I'll see if I can keep it in the rewrite bc I really love stories (books in particular) where the POV is shared between multiple characters but its done in this sorta way where it makes sense and is consistent and makes the story feel very symmetrical, yknow?

Rather than Zenix watching Aphmau just like, talk to some villagers, I think he should be watching her save someone who fell into the well, maybe somehow imply that hes been watching her since the day before when she arrived to make sure shes not causing trouble or smth

ALSO Zenix is not gonna be a love interest!!! not even potentially!!! Listen, i dont remember Zenix doing fuck all in this series, I didnt even remember that there was a fucker named Zenix there, but I know Aphmaus Minecraft Series well enough to know that there are gonna be A BUNCH of potential love interests and I'd rather keep that number down

Other than that, Im keeping the scene the way it is basically bc its honestly fine. Like, the dialogue of the No Name Guard thats w/ Zenix is kinda tryhard ig but im assuming hes just gonna be a one off character so it doesnt really matter

Back w/ Aphmau, she wakes up, walks around the village and talks to the villagers again

Someone falls into the well somehow and then we get Aphmau saving them but from her perspective this time

The person who almost drowned is ecstatic and thanking her n shit and Aphmau is responding in the typical way you respond to that stuff when youre a Humble Heroine and thats when she and Garroth actually have their first little interaction (instead of the thing in OG Diaries where he comments on her making the streets look nicer)

Its very short and pretty insignificant, Garroth obviously thanks her too and stuff (maybe he gives her a lil compliment but i dont remember if he would that at this point) but hes never seen her before so he asks her who she is and how she got there. Aphmau is like "Oh yea my names Aphmau and I... dont. remember anything else. huh" and then realizes how suspicious that probably sounds and quickly tells him shes busy and scrurries off

She just kinda walks through the village in order to lose him and get to her house and everyone is like, commenting on her being new and how shes a hero and stuff, maybe some of them even approach her directly to say something idk

When she arrives at her house she thinks it might be better to leave n explore for a bit, just in case the guard(s) wanna try something bc thes think shes suspicious or smth

Like in the OG, she comes to this beach and sees some villages on the water/in the distance, but she doesnt actually go to them she just kinda chills for a few hours, maybe tries to make some plans on what to do next/how to contact them (this could maybe sort of tie into what Garroth n Zenix were talking about with them being unable to contact others)

She returns to the village when the sun is setting and everyone is getting ready to lock themselves in their houses again to avoid all the mobs and while she also goes home, the villager she saved approaches her

Its Emmalyn!! I just remembered that shes actually kind of an important side character once the story starts properly, so yea shes here now

She tells Aphmau that shes the one from the well incident and thanks her again. Aphmau tells her its no big deal and that its what anyone wouldve done and goes to open the door to which Emmalyn asks if thats really where she lives. Aphmau says yea and Emmalyn offers to let her sleep at her home, at least until they can repair the abandoned house Aphmau is staying in

Aphmau thanks her profusely and gets all her stuff to move in, maybe they have a bit of an argument bc Aphmau doesnt wanna intrude but Emmalyn insists?? Idk

Then we could maybe have a scene where the of them are actually bonding a bit and getting to know each other a lil but Im not fully sure if I wanna do that bc I dont remember how important Emmalyn is exactly. But also, its important for the audience to get attached to this village anyway so it might not really matter idk

yea thats it, I feel like this episode was overwhelmingly filler and I just dont have anything to say so until next time!!

there was some artwork from someone on tublr..where they pointed out that he doesnt really talk outside the metaverse so--hes hyperverbal as joker and just near nonverbal as akiren

he stims ALL THE TIME. that phone thing, the pencil thing, the little tappy tap of his foot, pulling at his bangs when hes embarrassed/smug. someone get him a fidget spinner. he’ll prob learn to do tricks with it

he probably sucks at focusing in class, like i know its just the game design but hes always surprised out of his daily “star out the window at the nearby office building” when his teachers ask him questions

mona mentions when the pt is at Wilton for the first time (after they run into shido) that joker eats like shit, and that could have multiple causes at the start of the story of course, but when i first played i thought that joker was a picky eater and that the variety (and amount of food) at the buffet would be an Ordeal...
