Now, time to finally talk about my most favorite Subspace Emissary cutscene.

This is the one that happens after the battle with Galleom in chapter 16.

After being defeated, Galleom takes Red and Lucas and flies up to the sky. Turns out that Galleom is actually a Subspace Bomb.

And then that is when it happens: Lucas uses PK Thunder to free himself and Red, who's unconscious, from the clutches of Galleom. But then Lucas realized that he and Red are falling into their inevitable deaths, so he shielded the unconscious Red from the fall.

That is until they were both rescued by Meta Knight, and as Red finally regains consciousness, Lucas does a handshake with him. My absolute favorite cutscene in the whole mode. Also Lucas' character development in this is reflective of his development in Mother 3, his home game.

P.S. Trophified Wario getting sucked into Subspace will never not be funny to me LMAO

Just saw a tiktok of Billy Hargrove (baby) but not any normal tik tok of Billy, oh no. It was a tiktok of That scene with Billy and Mrs. Wheeler at the pool, the very first interaction of S3, the oooooh, I'm completely wet and una swim suit, whatcha gonna do when we are in public?

And up above, in huge letters said, and I quote: "this scene genuinely altered my brain chemistry 🥵" emoji and all. Which I understand, the duffers made that specifically to put Billy in a "wooooow he so hot" place so people could forget a little bit that Karen was coming on to a 16-17 yo guy... But the caption, that godamn caption.

"I will forever be angry that we didn't get to see them together"

WHAT??!!! Sir, that's a minor right there!!! What the hell you talking about???!!!

And I hate that so many people in the comments AGREED with that and said they had Hella good chemistry when all I could feel whit those scenes was uncomfortable and sad.

And then I felt angry because THAT IS THE DUFFERS FAULT!!! They made Billy a walking piece of meat for these older women in Hawkins and made him appear older so we wouldn't find anything wrong with Karen and her bedroom eyes locked on one of her daughter's school mates.

And I HATE it. I hate it because that is what feeds the "He is a monster, and awful person who does not deserve a good thing" and the "you defend him just because he is hot" and I will forever be bitter about it.

Kyle Gaz Garrick fell off a damn helicopter, hang onto a fucking rope, shooting enemies upside down while the helicopter was moving like the coolest fucking character that he is and mfs still decide not to include him in 141 content. I'm convinced that none of them played the games cause I genuinely cannot understand if you played both MW1/MW2 and still decide not include Gaz. And before you cry that people don't have to include him if they don't want to, I know? That doesn't mean I can't express my thoughts on it.

"I don't know him that well" what?! You play BOTH games with Gaz, he's literally the character you know the MOST along with Price. But you know König who's part of the KorTac faction? And include him in 141 TF content but leave out THE 141 member?

The reason why I keep talking about this is because it's kinda concerning on a different level/weird undertones that go further than fiction/game when it comes to Gaz.

P.s: fucking hell, he's so fine it hurts my soul. Till the walls turn white and all oxygen leaves my brain.

something I find really fascinating and heartbreaking and also not really talkes about is how different (OR ARE THEY) the master's disguises are to himself.

I present to you professor Yana - a delightful, optimistic, endlessly kind old man, fascinated with creativity, hope and science, sounds familiar? pretty similar with the doctor, isn't it?

and if you know the big finish audio story "master", the master ends up AGAIN as a human with no memories or recollection of what he is. and what does he do? he takes the name John Smith and becomes a doctor and is described by his friends as the "kindest man". he's gentle and he worries about his friends and, self-described, even if totally fascinated by the prospect of death and evil, couldn't actually harm anyone.

and O - yes, I know he was actively tricking the doctor then, bear with me - he was so cute and eager to please and happy to be there and nice to people.

simm!master was a little shit in every way, but he ended up saving the doctor.

and we all cried over missy long enough (as is proper).

I just think of how the doctor is right, that deep down, when it comes to it, the master IS his best, oldest friend. soulmates in every way, in every reincarnation, in any combination.

to quote oscar wilde, "give a man a mask and he'll tell you the truth". it's truly infinitely fascinating and borderline tragic how, everytime he acts (voluntarily or not) as someone else, the master is so strikingly a copy of all the goodness in the doctor.

Ayda and Garthy fucking SHATTER my soul, i love them so much. i think they are both lost souls and that's why they're so beautiful. let me explain. (keep in mind i'm saying all these things in the context of pre-bad kid intervention)

Ayda is stuck between two worlds inherently: she is neither phoenix nor human, with just enough celestial to make her holy but enough of her father's blood to ensure she is not fully celestial. She is immortal, but her memory is not, and that reset ensures that she will never gain as much power as either of her parents, and thus might never be considered "good enough." She is an academic, but lives in a pirate city of chaos. She is an extremely powerful wizard but has no wizard friends, nor many friends at all.

Garthy is similarly stuck in the middle. Not only are they a half-orc, something inherently between, but they are also half Aasimar, the devils of the orc pantheon. While non-binary gender identities do not seem to be rare in the world of Spyre, in our world that tends to place people in the middle. I believe it is canon that they were considered a street urchin when they were younger, meaning that they were cast out or abandoned, furthering this lost nature.

I believe that Ayda took Garthy in because she saw them as another lost soul, someone who she related to, even if the nature of their in between-ness was different. Lost souls are not so lost if they are together.
