Just saw your tags about Dick & Clark meeting first, where is this from?
the old time radio the adventures of superman show from the 1940s! unfortunately most of the serial was lost - we only have episode 2, 4, and 5, out of a 12 part serial. they are number 432-434 in this archive, if you wanna listen dick shows up in 433/part 4!
in brief, batman goes missing on a dangerous mission he refused to let dick in on, and dick, after trying everything, ends up writing a letter to superman asking for his help, and sends it to the planet. clark finds dick unconscious on a boat and rescues him, and they start working together to find bruce! and then the rest of the episodes are lost so we have to piece together the rest of the plot through secondhand sources :,)

OKAY AS PROMISED IM BACK WITH SOME GOOD OL GOVERNMENT SLANDER LETS GOOOOOOOOOOOO
And as usually I haven’t read the page in the past 5 minutes so some details are most certainly lost within the inner machinations of my mind so please don’t excuse me if I get some things wrong. I’m also a high school student so I also don’t know every little detail about how government organizations work but let’s pretend I do for the funny.
Now, what we see of GUN (Will not be using the periods because that’s too much work lmfao) is pretty antagonistic at first glance. First they won’t permit Amy to be in the base without specific permission from anyone in charge, then they see one little thing wrong with Omega and treat it like it’s the black plague or something, and then they don’t even refer to Omega as a real person, AND THEN THEY PREPARE THE GUY FOR EXECUTION????????? YEAH WHAT A NICE TRACK RECORD THEY GOT GOING ON!!!!
However, I do have the obligation to defend a majority of the things they do here. First we’ll start with Amy’s initial rejection.
Again, a ton of details about this part are lost to me as they came out nearly a year ago and I just spontaneously decided to send in this ask.
When Amy waltz’s right on into GUN’s base of operation, she does arrive with the consent of Rouge, but our badass bat queen is not the one in charge. Yes, Rouge is a very well-respected spy in the business and she is held in high regard, but she’s only one of the higher-ups. She isn’t “The Big Man” upstairs or whatever. Not only that, but she is allies with some pretty suspicious individuals, like Sonic for example, who was already on GUN’s hit list a few times now. And not to mention, she treats Omega like he’s a real person instead of just some Eggman robot that went rogue. In this context, not only do GUN have reason to be suspicious of Rouge just allowing a random girl into their top secret operations base, but they also have reason to be wary near Omega. (I’ll get into this later) And by the way, Amy is practically unheard of to GUN, at least from what I know. They have Sonic and a majority of his friends on file, but I’ve never seen Amy interact with GUN at all until this point. Even if she had, GUN would still know very little about her. So for her to just waltz right on in and claim she’s working with Rouge, the only other Mobian besides Shadow btw, it’s understandable that GUN is gonna be pretty weird about that.
Now sure, Amy did claim she was working with Rouge, but that’s just it. Rouge and Shadow are the only Mobians within a mostly human organization, Mobians who do have previous criminal records. I am honestly shocked the two were able to work with GUN in the first place. So allowing another Mobian onto the team, even temporarily, is a big deal.
Alright that’s enough of that I’ve basically sang GUN its praises from heaven and back so we’re gonna get into the nitty-gritty now muahahahahahaaaaa
Now about everyone just hating on Omega? Well, they still have some reason to do so. Before Shadow and Rouge, GUN was quite strict in who they let in, as with any scientific/military operation that’s in cahoots with the government. Oh, and they also hate Eggman. So allowing Team Dark’s third and most op member Omega to be hired was quite the stretch. In real life, allowing a robot to work at all would basically be a felony as it could lead to harmful outcomes like software malfunctions, miscalculations, harming other workers, etc. To many things can go wrong when a robot is on the clock, and in this case, the robot is also very genocidal and wants the death of anyone who gets in his way. The only attribute that GUN can have any hope in is the well-known fact that Omega despises Eggman with a passion. Ya boi hates Eggman more than the whole of GUN, which to them is saying a lot! So GUN is already taking enough risk by allowing Omega to exist within the workspace!
But that’s the thing here. Everyone is so focused on the what-ifs with Omega that they never stop to think about what he’s really like. Everyone is afraid of Omega, or at least afraid of what he is capable of, so they all avoid him like the plague. On top of all that, due to their honestly not unfounded fear, they’ve been preparing for the worst from the guy. GUN probably has a ton of unnecessary protocols now all thanks to Omega’s mere existence, and so if anything were to go even a little bit wrong… Welp. We all know what they’d have to do.
To me, this does seem slightly reasonable, at least given how Omega truly is. The guy is a loose cannon, literally and figuratively, and his rage is unmatched! So it does seem understandable to an extent as to why Omega is treated in this way.
What isn’t reasonable though is how he’s treated on the other side of things. Yes, ya boi is a hazard. Yes, he could burn the whole place to the ground and not feel an ounce of regret. Yes, Omega is very unpredictable! However, that’s just how some people are in real life too! Real people are unpredictable and violent, and yet we don’t see everyone treating them like a plaything! To GUN, Omega is seen as both a useful tool and an unpredictable hazard, just like I said, and both these qualities combined make for a very demeaning description. Because while Omega is a robot, he still can feel and have emotions similarly to, if not exactly like a regular person! (See my previous essay to get a bigger picture for what I mean by this) He acts and feels just as human as the others, and we can tell he clearly wants to be treated as such! Omega doesn’t seem to mind the over-the-top precautions necessary for his own existence, and he doesn’t care if he gets the occasional glare or two from a coworker. What he does clearly care about is being called a violent yet necessary tool, a monster, a robot, an emotionless tin can, an it…! Omega hates being undermined. He despises the fact that he’s constantly being misjudged for what he is, not because of who he is. No one treats Omega like a real living creature, and instead treats him like another tool in the shed, a faulty lawnmower or a dulled bush trimmer. Yes, he’s useful, and yeah he is on their side! But he’s also just a bunch of code and numbers, nothing but ones and zeroes, and they’re all treating him as such. Nobody really cares about him. Nobody sees Omega for who he really is. Which is why whenever he can, Omega always gravitates towards the only other oddballs in the workplace, the only Mobians, the only people who will treat him with respect.
And finally, we come to the last section of this very very VERY LONG ESSAY ABOUT A SINGLE CHARACTER, the execution. Or I guess the attempted execution.
So, like I said beforehand, Omega has a LOT of precautions on his belt, and also like I stated, one of them is his execution. If anything were to go wrong at all, if Omega were to step out of line, the guy would have to at the very least be taken apart just to see what’s wrong. If GUN were feeling nice, they wouldn’t straight up kill the guy, and at this point in time it’s clear that the higher-ups have taken a liking to Omega. So going this far was not their intention in the slightest. It would be considered though if anything like it were to happen again, but thanks to the new pages I think they’re beginning to reconsider this. Omega has now been taken over/amplified by Dark Gaia, (Also see my previous ask to know what I think on all that) and that is seen as an accident worthy of an execution in the eyes of the government. And in some cases that’d be understandable, but in this case it isn’t. GUN has been working with Omega for a while at this point, and not only that, but like I JUST SAID, they like him. Or at least they think they do. Executing Omega for something that was clearly out of his control is not necessary in the slightest and it is exactly why I did this whole thing.
okay so as you can probably tell I’m getting tired of typing on my iPad generation 10 screen keyboard so I’ll try to keep this short.
Summary: Omega is an unpredictable force of nature that GUN clearly doesn’t like. They like the concept of him being on their side and the General likes him personally, but Omega in theory and Omega in practice are two separate robots. Having robots in the workplace at all can have dire consequences, so not only have GUN taken multiple extra precautions just in case something bad happened thanks to Omega, but they also treat him like a piece of junk! It’s terrible, but at the end of the day that’s kinda just what needs to be done. GUN is a government operation that hates Eggman, so anything trouble-making within the business is seen as a liability or a hazard, which includes our favorite homicidal maniacal robot.
AND THATS IT I FINALLY DID IT I FINALLY GOT IT DONE I FINALLY WROTE THE WHOLE THING WOW THAT WAS A LOT OF GIVERNMENT SLANDER QOOOOOOOOOWWWWW
AIGHT THATS IT IM DONE IM LEAVING THANKS SO MUCH FOR READING ALL THAT AND HAVE A GREAT DAY/NIGHT
THANKS FOR SENDING IN ESSAYS LIKE THAT!!!!!!!!! very interesting read cant wait for u to see the conclusion of this arc

Will there be antagonist(s) or rivals or some threats in the finfolk fic? Maybe some hunters who are experienced in tracking down and capturing mythological creatures, as in knows how to avoid getting caught, how to handle them, etc. Someone who actually possesses a threat to home? Or how about since Sally goes on killing spares it’s very likely that the murders will end up attracting attention of some curious puppets, maybe some wannabe crime detectives or a folklorist? Sorry for my rambling, you don’t have to answer this ask.
Oh nono, I love seeing asks so it's fine! :)
Warning: This is very short and not read well since it's 3am and my brain is half asleep writing this 👍
There are actually puppets aware that Finfolk exist, but usually they keep low and hide in fear of getting killed. It's those seeking revenge or seeking Finfolk out of curiosity that end up looking around for them.
But...
I did actually have a rival in mind and it's in relation to the wolf OC I made a day ago along with that bird squad I drew. It's the sheep (or ram, it's undecided) that has been tracking the neighbors down despite their efforts to throw them off. You'd think they would just kill the puppet, but they've had a hard time surprisingly. You see, when you kill enough puppets, there tends to be a growing number of witnesses left to take care of. And sometimes there's too many to just kill. You can't get rid of a town's entire population you know? So they do what they can to wipe memories and minds alike, but for once, they missed one. And it's that one puppet that grew aware of their presence. The neighbors are aware of the sheep/ram's whereabouts, they just can't decide how to take care of the situation. They're too suspicious of new people now, and any attempts at direct contact are met with threats of leaking evidence. They even tried infiltrating government officials to get them arrested but the sheep/ram had fled before then. There's a motive to this tracking, naturally. They want revenge on whoever killed their family. (It was probably Sally, Julie, or Wally)
I mean, all they have left is their crush (that being the wolf). And they'd do anything to keep their love safe. It just so happens to mean killing off whoever killed his family first.
I did want to draw a comic for the next bit on this backstory though.
Eventually, they did turn to drastic measures when a Finfolk had gravely wounded the sheep/ram. Using their own blood to summon a demon, they made a deal for half their lifespan in exchange for their power. (I am aiming for this character to kind of lose it really so tw in that I guess?) It does boil down to them being captured and held by Wally in front of Home though, having almost killed several Finfolk in a blind rage. Home does end up convincing the sheep/ram to give in and become a Finfolk for the guaranteed safety of the wolf lover and a chance at a happy life with their love (all of their actions caused Finfolk outside of Home to target the wolf as well as the sheep/ram). Which the sheep/ram accepts. Never finding out who killed their family. So now we got a demon sheep/ram, Finfolk hybrid ready that's completely crazed.
ANYWAYS, the comic I wanted to draw was when the wolf is slowly realizing the sheep/ram has lost it as a Finfolk now. That or some dialogue between Wally and the sheep/ram where they discuss a deal they're making between the love's safety and becoming a Finfolk willingly under Home.
I really need to just give them names so it's less confusing...

Some S5 Ideas, Before Information Starts Coming Out etc, Pt. II
Part I | Part I.V
The pre-Hawkins Infiltration Training Arc begins after Mike notices Lucas training to avenge Max, and decides that would be a much better use of everyone’s time than sitting around being anxious for something to happen. He then gets everyone together and lays out the plan for becoming apocalypse-ready, which involves them organizing and working on relevant skills. Thus begins a rotation of scenes in which each of the boys leads a lesson in their specialty: Mike comes up with team-building and group operations exercises (assigning everyone clear combat roles, physical challenges that require teamwork, practicing stealth and silent communication though hand signals, etc), Lucas is the personal trainer/health coach and teaches basic hand-to-hand combat, Dustin teaches field medicine, survival skills, and anything relevant about the layout and state of Hawkins, El (in collaboration with Dustin) explains in detail how her powers work and where she’s at strength and skill-wise, and Will gives a run down of everything he knows about Vecna. Of course, everything we see them go over is foreshadowing for future events.
Lucas intercepts Mike and Dustin trying to eat snack cakes for breakfast like 3 times, also El gets her training arc after Dustin gets curious and wants to do some (completely voluntary and not similar at all to what she did at the lab, he assures both her and Mike) tests to get some data on how her powers work. This involves things like measuring how fast she can throw objects of different weights or how many pounds of force she can apply to a scale under different conditions. Seeing her powers quantified like this inspires her (perhaps in a negative self-critical way) to see how strong she can actually get through practice.
Since Mike and El are officially made group leaders, the rest of the party (mostly Dustin and Lucas) starts jokingly calling them Mom and Dad. Mike plays along and eventually starts referring to El as “your mother” when talking to them, which El eventually starts responding to. (lmao)
Also, whenever the group split up Dustin calls one team the A team and the other the B team. Mike eventually figures out why (A team is the team with El on it) and one time he calls his team the B team before Dustin does, which makes him very happy.
Also Mike and El get matching action ponytails, provided we can justify getting rid of Mike’s current bangs, which on the one hand are a staple part of his character design, but on the other hand he’s clearly in the midst of a style change so like there's precedent. Idk, I just can’t picture him trekking through the woods without his hair pulled up lol
The new human secret final boss antagonist is the DOE director lady (who I'm making up, btw) who funded Brenner’s project. At first she acts like she’s sorry about what happened with El and Brenner like she didn’t know what he was really up to, and she’s working to keep Sullivan from nuking El and the entire town, but after poking around some classified documents we find out she totally knew the whole time and actually gave Brenner more funding once he produced El and the only reason she’s protecting her is because she’s trying to get her investment back. She wants to either control El again or kill her if that's not possible. In a casual super villain speech she gives to Mike one night while smoking out of a window in a suspiciously empty hallway, she compares her to the atomic bomb or some super weapon that was created half-accidentally, except this super weapon is a maladjusted child with anger issues. She’s hurt people before and its only a matter of time before you end up dead too ooooh so give her back to meee. Mike (and everyone else) of course doesn’t buy this for a second (though there may be some moment where he has to pretend that he does to facilitate some desperate plan) and she and Sullivan get murdered in the end after our heroes betray them.
The reason Vecna goes dormant for such a suspiciously long time is because he was working on new monsters, including:
A mimic monster. Designed to weaken trust within the groups by making everyone paranoid that the teammate they’re talking to is actually a mimic, who just recently did a pretty good job pretending to be said teammates, save for the fact it eventually tried to kill them.
A super duper predator-type murder monster that’s nigh-unkillable except by like shoving an explosive down its throat. Like this thing shows up and the only thing you can really do is run and/or hide. It’s existence would really require someone in the main cast dying to it tho so we’re gonna call this a fun au idea :)
Through some Vecna mental space shenanigans, Mike gets to fight an evil doppelganger version of himself that represents his worst qualities and resulting self-hatred. Listen ok, it would be a great thematic final challenge to illustrate his character growth. Plus its not like, completely out of the realm of possibility, I mean, Vecna shows people their worst fears and shit in the form of other people so like if the person you have the biggest problem with is yourself then you would confront yourself. No one tried besting Venca in hand-to-hand combat to make him leave you alone, maybe that would actually work and also be really edgy and cool. Also, it would be a fun reference to everyone's favorite 80s video game, Persona 4—
Vecna is actually killed in the second to last episode, but uh-oh the gate is still open and the monsters are still fucking shit up. Turns out there’s a secret final thing we gotta do to actually end all this (Probably collapsing the upside down or whatever dimension the monsters are actually from). Idk if it’s really in line with the themes of the show, but I do really like the idea of things not ending with Vecna’s death because he already infected the entire upside down/hell dimension with his, shall we say “ideology”, so killing the one guy in charge is not enough to end the war. Its like a metaphor. Plus, that means we get both Vecna and the mindflayer as big bads.
The show ends with a cheesy-ass prom scene, followed by the kids riding out to a hill over looking the town and giving “I love you guys” speeches and getting ready to begin the rest of their lives <3.

So this post and this one got me thinking more about what a darker, grittier, more twisted and deconstructive (but still very whimsical, wholesome and heart-filled) take on Winnie The Pooh would look like, and since Pooh’s now in the public domain, such a thing isn’t in the realm of the impossible anymore, and would certainly be a more worthwhile contribution to Pooh canon and society as a whole than...that thing. What I lean towards is a three season TV series in a similar vein to Amphibia where low stakes small stories and comedy meets with a larger, steadily building overarching narrative that leads to bigger revelations and higher stakes conflict. Said conflict has to arise from somewhere, so I thought up four OCs to bring it with them!
Context: This hypothetical series would be an Elsewords take on Winnie The Pooh from the main Disney depictions that reframes the Hundred Acre Wood as a vast, magical Eden of regrown nature and wildlife located in Sussex, England on a post-apocalyptic Earth. Christopher Robin is a orphaned boy who lives in a nature-overgrown neigborhood in Sussex and has secret access to the Wood, where he’s befriended some friendly cryptids with very plush animal-like appearances. All the classic Pooh tales transpired until one day Christopher had to leave at behest of his caretakers. In this story’s present day, Christopher is a young adult who returns to the Hundred Acre Wood and learns some deep, dark secrets about it that he’d never known in the childhood he left behind, such as the connection between the Wood denizens and the higher spirits of nature, the crystal stones that keep effect the way time flows within the Wood, why creatures such as Heffalumps, Woozles, and Jagulars are as they are, and the unnatural evil that lurks beneath the Wood’s soil...
Credit to @disneyfan50, who put forward what could very well work as an ongoing flashback storyline in the first season, prior to the emergence of the first OC seen on this post in the present day tale.
And now, here they are - my OC Bad Guys!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
John Jagular emerges as the chief antagonist of the story, the ruler of the hidden Jagulars’ Vale who, in response to the natural resource scarity in his dominion, seeks to turn the Hundred Acre Wood into his first ever colony and tax the shit out of them so that a portion of their goods (hunny, hacorns, sticks, herbs and plant-life, Rabbit’s vegetables, etc.) can go to Jagular’s Vale. Much as he wants to be taken seriously as a soverign monarch, King John is quite a hapless and oafish figure who normally fails. His basis is the character of King John, who appeared in a handful of poems by A.A Milne, and he is a partial Expy of Prince John from Disney’s Robin Hood. He’d be voiced by Alan Tudyk (w/ his Clayface and King River voice)
Tumblr media
Kaleb Jingswell is the unexpected human antagonist, a competitor of Christopher Robin’s who’s put his foot down in land development and real estate business, meaning yes, he does exactly what you’d think he’d do: tries to secure a deal for the Hundred Acre Woods to get bulldozed and made into the future site of homes for humans. While many are in need of homes in this post-apocalyptic setting, his intent is not to help the needy but simply to spite Christopher by desecrating his childhood playground. Much like John Jagular, Kaleb is heavy on comedic relief despite his cruelty and wickedness. He is a suspiciously similar character to Giles WInslow Jr. from Christopher Robin (2018), but he also has influences in Big City Greens’ Chip Whistler and El Hazard’s Katsuhiko Jinnai (same initials even!) He’d be voiced by Kyle McCarley (Simon Laurent from Infinity Train, etc.).
Tumblr media
Sylvester T. Reynard is the true villain of the piece, a suspicious fox who roams around the woods in clownish get-up, always claiming to be conveniently exactly what someone might need him to be at that given moment. Feigning friendliness to Pooh and friends, Reynard is constantly scheming up ways to dupe them, will never hesitate to stab them in the back when it suits him, and eventually starts playing them, the Jagulars, the Heffalumps and Woozles, and even Kaleb Jingwell’s human demolition team against one another. While as comical a figure as John and Kaleb, Reynard differs in that he does more long term thinking than either of them and has moments where his darker, more intimidating true nature shows itself. His animation would also notably differ from that of other characters, with his movements being stange and jerky and his feet sometimes lifting above the ground, signifying something very off about this particular critter. His basis is the obscure one-off antagonist Sly Fox from the book Pooh’s New Clothes, who duped the Hundred Acre Wood residents and got away with it with a handful of hunny jars, and the clown-like garb and make-up along is an allusion to none other than Pennywise the Dancing Clown from Stephen King’s IT. He’d be voiced by David Tennant (w/ his Dread the Evil Genie voice)
Tumblr media
The Thing From Below is the overarching villain, though we’d not learn he exists until near the very end when it’s revealed he’d been sealed beneath the Hundred Acre Wood for ages. A beast who knows no morality, the Thing wishes to swallow up all the mystical supernatural power within the crystal stones in order to strengthen itself so that it may dominate the Wood and leave a wasteland of dust, decay, and bones in its place. It is said that more of its kind used to exist and are what brought the planet to an apocalypse a good many years ago, the effects of which are still being dealt with, and the older forest spirits imprisoned this last one because it was the strongest and cruelest of them all. Not pictured is that on the tip of its tail a tall, thin branch sprouts out, and on the edge of the branch is a long, crooked wire-like thing, and on the edge of that is Sylvester T. Reynard, who the whole time was the Thing’s puppet working to get it released from beneath the earth (yeah, turns out my “Professor Pericles” idea from 5 years earlier ended up a little more on the mark than I’d expected). As you’ll most likely notice, the Thing is indeed the Skullasaurus, the fabled fearsome monster from Pooh’s Grand Adventure, though it would not be addressed as such. And as an additional Mythology Gag, it’d be voiced by Jim Cummings using only growls, grunts and roars, as all of his “speaking” is done by Reynard.
By the by, I'm also still waiting for that Madeline Robin-centered spinoff, but that should be its own thing entirely, obviously. The poor girl doesn’t deserve to be put through anything like these nightmares!

I feel that if the mastermind wasn't out to get Teruko by placing her as the protagonist, David would be the true one we would be partial to. We see a biased view of him through Teruko's perspective. Of course he feels shady when he has so many layers to his person. We don't way his inner commentary and only see his interactions with the others when Teruko bothers with them. Such which he ultimately runs himself emotionally ragged having to be the hopeful leader which frankly that's hard for someone with heavy depression. Other danganronpa characters have similar traits yet they aren't villainized; Ishimaru leading, V3 protags lied, etc. If anything, David is the ideal antagonist BECAUSE he holds all the favorable traits of a protagonist. Someone that holds the opposite in interacting and general own plans to help as Teruko that can be a right foil to add to the story.
And if the hopeless child one is truly his secret then his actions make sense given how much pressure it is to BE happy. Doesn't matter if he FEELS it. He just HAS to for the sake of helping others and there are dire consequences if he lets his true emotions slip through since he's already been labeled a liar manipulator by us so imagine how rough he'll get it in the world they live in. Couple that with the secret cause of the killing game? Of course he's stressed beyond belief especially since Teruko doesn't want to leave. He's just as suspicious of her as we are of him.
There's so much to him and it's only chapter 2! The easy typical thing would be to have him be the manipulater. It's all in his talent right? I think the hardest narrative choice would be to make him entirely genuine through the whole thing. "The road to hell can be paved with good intentions" as they say.
Like Eden says, she choose to be kind. What's to say that David chooses to be motivational to help others even when he knows he can't help himself but he still tries because he still cares? To a depressed and suicidal person, making the very small speck of difference at anything is a powerful thing. It's a way to prove that little voice in the back of your mind wrong.
To prove that he has worth. that he has value as a human being. That he deserves to be truly happy. This is a bit long but there's just so much behind the scenes we won't see unless Teruko decides to let others in. They're all coping with the circumstances in their own human way.
//Definitely think it could go a lot of ways this chapter
//For all we know, yeah, maybe he's actually an upstanding guy. Maybe he's being forced into this.
//Maybe he's a stinking bastard liar or a murderer
//No way of knowing until we know for sure, and that path continues Friday

Happy STS! (We'll just pretend this is Saturday :P ) How do you develop your characters? What's your favourite way to develop them (character development questions, drabbles, some other way)?
Thanks for the STS friend!
My answer is below the cut because I am addicted to making lists.
When I create a character, at the bare minimum before I can start writing, I like to know:
(for plot reasons)
what they want more than anything in the world (that can be made relevant to the story)
what they are willing to do to get what they want, and what they are not willing to do (if anything)
what/who they care about and/or what their moral beliefs are
why they don't already have the thing they want
what happens if they never get it
is the thing they want actually what they want or is it just what they think they want? What might make them realize this?
do any of their moral beliefs contradict?
what (plot relevant) things are they good at? what do they suck at?
do I want this character to have a happy ending?
basic things like gender, religion, sexuality, social class, how much money they have, education, ethnicity.
their role in the story: hero, villain, anti-hero, villain-protagonist, hero-antagonist, friend of the hero, mentor, etc.
I can generally get through a whole draft or two of a story knowing nothing else beforehand. If other things become relevant I can just make them up on the spot.
By later drafts though, I also need to know:
speech patterns and common phrases
clothing, hair, physical appearance
weapons they carry or can use (if relevant)
how they walk and sit, where they like to stand in a room, other body language where relevant
(particularly what these things^^ could tell the reader about the character) also:
how other characters react to them (intimidated, friendly, distrustful, reverence, annoyance etc.)
how I want the audience to perceive them (sweet, kind, disturbing, intimidating, attractive, powerful, suspicious etc.) and, therefore, what types of words and details to use when describing them.
are they good at lying (if relevant), what are their tells?
are they well-mannered, street-smart, tactful, confrontational, good at hiding their emotions, easily angered, impulsive, shy, confident, aware of others or their surroundings? Basically, how do they handle social situations and conflict?
I find most character questionnaires to be unhelpful because they tend to ask a bunch of questions that just aren't important in the kinds of stories I write. I don't know most of my characters' favourite colours, exact heights, or how many siblings they have. If it actually comes up in the story I'll just make something up on the spot. Also, questionnaires seldom ask some things that I find rather important like, "what lies do they believe?" Though I guess I just made my own questionnaire haha.

hypmic spoilers
hahah nooo don’t humanize Rei he’s so sexy and unknowable…
no but really i do want him to always be at least a smidge “irredeemable” if you know what i mean. “redemption” is so trite and misused in fannish type stuff these days so i don’t even like using that word but it’s the best i’ve got. i really hope his motivations don’t end up wholly justifying his actions yknow? i don’t think he needs to be a villain (i don’t think there are any villains in hypmic actually, just antagonists. characters with wildly different motives and morals yknow.) but i would be very sad if all of his edges got smoothed.
while i love guys who are just Bad and Gross all the way through, it makes for an interesting character that he was “good” (or at least “honest”) at some point but then he got burned or even just backed into a corner and had to play the villain to get [his loved ones or even himself] out safely. again, Hypmic just doesn’t have many characters who are just evil for the sake of being evil, the main characters DO often have good intentions and multilayered backstories, complex conflicts that they have to deal with and navigate imperfectly. they all get messy. but i do fear Rei’s choices being undermined by a big HAHA IT WAS ALL AN ACT!! AND I’M SORRY!! moment. he’s a lot like Ardyn from FFXV for me, where yeah the guy as we know him was forged in grief and genuine good intent, but that doesn’t absolve him of the dubious things he’s done on the way here. remorse doesn’t mean shit when you’re digging your heels in and continuing to stomp down a path of spite.
i mean he even tells Saburo that one time like “even if i had a good reason for it, i still abandoned you kids.” so he’s aware of the role he’s been given, he’s not biding his time until he can shuck off this slimy facade and reveal a kind sad repentant man uwu— he IS a bit of a scumbag and he knows it. & he doesn’t expect his family to forgive him! (also i personally would love if he’s been kind of like. leaning into it too much and yknow. might as well have fun with it! if you want me to be a suspicious scheming conman, i will be! he’s committed to the bit too much etc etc. his solos are all about hustling and manipulating people and all that… it would be charming if that’s a genuine side of him just as much as his more “noble” ideals are)
ULTIMATELY i don’t want fans to end up with a really shallow take of “aw he was just a wife guy all along 🥺 he made some mistakes but he’s trying to take the world back from these Evil Women 🥺 he loves his sons 🥺 which means he’s Good, actually” UGH. like that’s my worst nightmare lol. but i guess other interpretations don’t have to be my problem even if that comes to pass because yknow he’s subject to my own He Would Not Fucking Say That sense when i come to this fandom & i can always pretend i do not see it i just. (claws at my skull) please let him be gross. just let him be sleazy and mysterious. he can have a heart of gold underneath but please understand that he’s still Like This now and he can’t go back.
THAT ALL SAID i don’t take issue with the most recent events, he’s still not showing us all of his cards and he’s still always cryptic. there’s a lot of potential for him to still be dishonest and stubborn, weaving webs and burning things down, all that. Otome is posed as someone who had good intentions but became “corrupted” so to speak. Rei even says he thinks something of this nature & that’s why he’s trying to destroy what she’s done in order to correct it all. so narratively, Otome is the Big Bad and Rei is “on our side” (i.e., on a team, part of the main cast) but we really shouldn’t forget that he’s a foil for her. whatever ideals he has are not The Solution just because he’s on this side— they’re his ideals, not the story’s ideals. his goals & methods are probably just as Wrong as hers by now. also i love them both a LOT i think they should both get worse.
i don’t have a conclusion to this post lol. just pondering the state of things and admiring the complexity of this character that i love, and how you can’t have his complexity without baggage, and hopefully things will get even MORE complicated as the story goes on… it’s great.
also i hope he pays attention to Jiro soon because i don’t want my baby suffering from too much middle child syndrome please please please let him have a one on one with Jiro too

do you remember my yansim redesign serie with new concepts ? it has been a while.
okay so recently i've been thinking about it, for no particular reason honestly it just came back in my head, and then i remembered how odd Toko (Info-san) is in this story and i ended up don't like it. so i made some major update : -First off, for context, the project genre will be thriller, psychological, horror in a slasher style.
-Making Inuko (yan-chan) part of the main cast but also the secret antagonist, AND Tao (senpai) the protagonist and main investigator. Itoe (tsundere-chan) is, obviously, the first victim but also the main reason why Mina (Itoe's bff) wants to investigate and kind of push everyone to do so. But what would really push everyone would be :
-Info-san aka "GOSSIP" or "Storyteller" (depends on the student taste of naming them). They are kind of the new entity in school when Itoe died. It gives few stories and rumors that somehow links to a certain murderer. But they are extremely vague for some reason. Because of that, few students are getting suspicious. And it is more amplified when :
-Hime (Princess-chan) is brutally killed in front of multiple students during a repetition, especially just in front of Tao. Everyone in school, starts to get really paranoid that the school needs to lockdown during a week while the police investigate. -Talking about the police, let's now shift to a new character who wasn't introduced yet : Inuko's dad. He is part of the police, who investigate the case, and he wants some proper time with his daughter Inuko :D well not only her, but also Toko, the child of his new lover.
(okay so note : Inuko and Toko already met each other because of their dad before the events of the story, i just wanted to say that inuko's dad is a policeman and inuko and toko are related) -Initially, i imagined Toko as this motherfucker who tries to mess with Inuko, failing, and being kind of her slave, knowing how to hack shits and stuff. But then i was like "no, that's just illogic for a student". So i decided now, it's still a pretty shitty person, but not because they aren't close to opinions, but because they don't understand complex subjects. (sexuality, transidentity, sustainable development, politics, etc.) They actually don't really want to understand, and want life to be simple. But when Inuko's came in their life, they try to be her older sibling but she didn't want to, seeing them as the reason why her family has fallen apart. everything changed for the worse. They are kind of her slave but by giving rumors/infos they know or finishing the "dirty work".
-SO, to save their life from this monster, leaving clues in the school's official social medias under an anonymous profile so that someone finds out who's the culprit. (Anonymous, because Inuko could find out it's Toko and kills them) here are also some concepts i wanna add to the story :
-Tao becomes the main suspect (because everyone dies around him)
-Tao's and Chi's parents might meet Inuko's dad at some point with other parents, including Itoe's, Ryu's and Hime's. None of them works as a medicine expert.
-the school has many students leave to the point that in the end, the school close.
-there will be different endings despite the story doesn't really change.
-i think about adding more characters besides the adults. At least one boy (with others). But it will depend on who i really need.
I will stop here and give you this piece of art i did :
Tumblr media
i hope you enjoyed my ideas, byebye

I think you've horribly misread the situation [shitty roommate pt 2] - leo x reader
wc: 2.3k
genre: contemporary drama, you're definitly going to get second hand embarrassment, cozy fluff
pairing: leo x reader, attempted isabella x leo
reader: gender neutral, they/them
requested: hell yeah
warnings: mild swearing, roommate tries to steal your man once again, mentions of various mainstream vampire media (twilight, the vampire diaries etc.), brief mention of castlevania (even though i haven't seen it yet lol), breif mention of videogames and assassins creed, very mild delusion (roommate is secretly convinced leo is a vampire that's in love with her), attempted age gap relationship (she's 17 and leo's 19, he shuts that down real fast), very bad poetry
summary: You and Leo are both looking foward to spending a long weekend together, and Leo is determined not to let anything interrupt it, even if it means turning down your roommate's attempts to seduce him in the kitchen.
a/n: absolutley no hate or shade or judgement to anyone who has the same or similar traits as isabella!!!!!! at her core she's annoying because she's the antagonist, not bc of any isolated trait or traits
also she's shitty cause she keeps trying to steal your boyfriend?????
Edit: I forgot to mention before, but this is a college au where you're both still demigods, so you went to camp and on quests and stuff together
Tumblr media
This weekend is going to be all about recharging. Recharging from the ridiculous back to back closing and opening shifts at work, recharging from having to redo that stupid project twice because your professor couldn’t decide on a clear way to define the criteria, and recharging from Isabella having her townie friend Regan over almost non stop to “completely shake up her look” as she put it.
Between the constant presence of someone you’d barely consider an acquaintance and Big Time Rush’s self titled album blasting on repeat out of her giant airpod shaped speaker, it’s been harder than usual to get in some effective self care. You have no idea how many more times you can hear the phrase “I’m going for Jade West meets Elena Gilbert, with just a little Buffy Summers” before you lose your fucking mind.
Thankfully, the hard part is almost over. There’s some minor holiday tomorrow on friday, so you and Leo both have a three day weekend ahead of you, which you intend to spend entirely together. You planned ahead, frontloading homework, chores, errands, and everything you could think of to remove anything that isn’t cuddling or playing video games and watching netflix together from your horizon.
This includes going straight from work to the grocery store to stock the fridge and get any snacks you and Leo want. You had texted him a while ago asking for anything he was craving, and head into the store with a concrete list. After a while, you circle around some aisles, avoiding the check out.
“I feel like I’m forgetting something,” you muse, knowing it’s untrue, but hoping to trigger a memory anyway. You can’t put it off any longer, finally checking out and heading back to your apartment. You’d be lying if you said you weren’t avoiding Isabella just a little.
You know bringing in all these groceries would be way easier with Isabella and possibly Regan’s help, but you just don’t have the social energy to talk to anyone, much less her, right now. By some miracle, you bring everything in yourself, and hope to get it put away before you see Isabella.
You turn to the freezer, putting away the ice cream. When you turn back around, you’re suddenly met face to face with Isabella, who has opened one of the boxes and is picking at a pastry.
“Hey girlie,” she says, elongating the hey.
“Hey,” you reply lethargically, putting the last of the groceries away. She looks at the pastry in her hand like she’s just noticing it.
“Sorry, I can’t help it, I’m italian.” She smiles, endeared by her own behavior. You have no idea what being italian has to do with asking before you open a box of your roommate’s food, but this really isn’t out of character for her. She brings up the fact that she’s half italian more than Lele Pons blames her behavior on being latina.
She’s wearing sweatpants that say chaser on the leg in red and gold varsity font, and a tight tee shirt that says “it’s okay to love them both” with silhouettes of the male love interests from one of the vampire shows she always watches. You collect the plastic bags to put in recycling, and see a piece of paper on the counter.
It reads as follows:
Drowning in my mind
No one hears me cry
Who was I before society
Before society put me in a pink dress
And handed me blonde hair dye
And told me to lose ten pounds or be labeled a freak?
The happiest people cry the most
Let the lyrics be your story
But I’m not like the other skinny blonde pretty girls
I’m
Different
-b.g. xox
You hold back a sigh.
“I think this is yours.” you say, handing it to her.
“Oh, it’s just some of my poetry I left lying around, that’s so embarrassing.”
I know, you think, you do that all the time.
“Did you read it?” She asks, hopefully.
“Nope.”
“Thank god, that would have been so embarrassing. My poetry is something really… deep, and personal to me.”
“Uh huh. Hey, I’m going to be doing a lot of self care this weekend, so-”
“Oh!” she interjects, eerily similar to Phoebe Buffay - you guess she’s been watching friends again - “I wanted to ask… is Leo coming over later?” Her voice is riddled with subtext, the expression on her face a little too invested in your answer.
“Uh, yeah. I told you the other day we’re spending the weekend together…”
She cuts you off again, a sudden, intense look on her face.
“When will he be here?”
You check your phone, scrolling through your recent texts.
“By 7 at the latest.” It’s around 6:40 now.
“Oh my god, I have to change,” she rushes back to her room, presumably digging through her recent additions to her closet.
You’re frozen for a minute after the interaction, left with a furrowed brow and the beginnings of a headache. You blink, then choose to reschedule processing why she feels the need to change for your boyfriend to a more convenient time. That’s enough of that for today. You don’t care what else happens, you’re not talking to anyone besides Leo for at least the rest of the day. You retreat to your room to finally shower and change into something comfy. As you pass by Isabella’s room, you hear her talking to Regan.
“...There’s something almost… supernatural about him.”
You bite back a laugh.
“Do you think he’s a…” Regan begins, ending the sentence with something too quiet to hear, but you’d bet almost any organ she said vampire.
So close. So, so close, and yet… here you are.
Not much later, Leo texts you to let you know he’s here. You read his text, and run out to hug him in the living room before even typing a reply. He picks you up, and spins you around. The embrace is warm and fulfilling and familiar, and you wish it would last forever.
“Hi, Sparky.” you murmur into his neck.
“Estrella…” he says, rocking you back and forth gently and pressing a kiss into your jawline, “I missed you so much.” He punctuates the sentence with another kiss, this one to your lips, and you smile more genuinely than you have all day. You’re about to agree when you remember the good news you’ve been saving to tell him in person.
“Guess what I got on sale for like, half off,” you start, excitedly, continuing at his invested expression, “the Assassin’s Creed bundle I showed you!”
“No way,” he starts, and you nod.
“I’ll go get everything set up, drinks are in the kitchen!” He watches you retreat into your room, disbelieving how he could possibly get someone as perfect as you to fall for him. He’s not going to question his luck. He grabs a couple caffeinated sparkling ices, and meets you in your room, setting down his bag and grabbing some comfy clothes to change into.
As you both get settled in, you fill each other in on all the ridiculous shit you’ve been through this week. You finally conclude the bizarre - yet somehow standard - Isabella escapades.
“So I will be avoiding all contact as much as possible,” you laugh.
“Yeah, no shit,” he agrees, “Consider me your human buffer.” You thank him, hugging him again and pressing a kiss to his lips.
The next couple hours are spent cuddling and finishing season 4 of Castlevania. Both reeling from the season finale, you agree this is a good place to take a break, get some food, and decide what game you should start with. It’s already 10pm, which most people would consider too late for dinner, but you have all weekend to fuck up your sleep schedules.
“Let’s review,” Isabella says, holding up two red lipsticks. She turns to Regan. “Which one?”
“That one,” Regan says, pointing to the one on the left, then turns to her list, and continues. “Here’s what we know; we’ve never seen him eat, and he never seems tired. He’s really smart-”
“Almost too smart,” Isabella adds, selecting black rose dangle earrings from her jewelry. Regan agrees, and continues.
“He’s almost hypnotically attractive, and his smile is a little too dazzling.”
“There’s something… supernatural about him. Like he’s not… all human.”
Regan writes this down.
“Plus he’s always wearing black and red, and those flowy button up shirts? It’s all adding up, Ree. That dream that someone was outside my window, the ring, everything…” She says, referencing the black and red cocktail ring she’d found with her stuff when she’d first moved, “I’m not saying it’s definite, just that… there’s a chance.”
“What about…” Regan says hesitantly, nodding toward your room.
“Please,” she scoffs, “he’s only with them to get close to me, like Damon and Caroline. Edward couldn’t have just approached Bella out of the blue, he had to infiltrate her friend group first, to seem less suspicious. Not to sound mean or anything, but they really don’t seem like the type someone… like him… would choose.” her voice gets dreamy when she mentions him.
In spite of having seen most mainstream vampire media almost as many times as Isabella, Regan still considers her the expert on these things, and decides not to point out that Edward didn’t infiltrate Bella’s friend group. Maybe it comes up in one of the retellings she hasn’t read yet.
“So, what now?”
Isabella sets down her lipstick, and turns to her friend.
“I tell him.”
Regan’s eyes widen.
“You’re going to tell him you know?”
“No… not yet. It’s too soon, we don’t have enough evidence. I’m going to tell him I know he’s in love with me, then once he’s secure in our relationship... we’ll see where it goes.”
She stands up, assessing herself in the mirror. She chose her outfit carefully; short red dress with black roses and black mesh collar, black rose bracelet to match her earrings, snug faux leather jacket, and black stiletto ankle booties with a very skinny heel, the zipper on the outside gold, not silver. She fluffs her wavy hair and turns towards the door. She looks back one more time, holding onto the doorway.
“Wish me luck.”
Leo enters the kitchen, seeing Isabella already there, leaning against the counter seductively. She’s wearing an outfit and jewelry this late at night that makes Leo wonder if she’s going to an emo tea party. He puts the takeout in the microwave. She’s still staring at him.
“Uh… hey.”
She lets out a dainty giggle, looking him up and down.
“... Hi.”
At a loss for words, and really wanting the awkward silence to be over, he continues, “Did you need something?”
“What I need,” she walks closer to him, tracing her finger over his collar, “is you.”
What the fuck?
His brain seems to stall for a moment, and she uses this opportunity to continue.
“I know why you’re here. I know that you’re only using them to get closer to me. I know-”
“Woah-”
“That you’re in love with me.”
Okay, double what the fuck.
She takes his stunned silence as shyness, and steps closer, putting her arms around his shoulders.
“You don’t need to play so coy, I-”
This time she’s the one that gets cut off. He grabs her arms and gently steps away, trying to make it abundantly clear that he’s not into this.
“Woah, okay, slow down. First of all, you’re 17 and I’m turning 20 in a couple months, so that’s a hard no. Second, I don’t know where you got this idea, but I am not dating them to get closer to you. We’ve known each other since we were like, 15, and have been through everything together. I’ve only known you for a couple months. I love them. Probably more than I’ve loved anything ever. I thought that was pretty obvious.”
He doesn’t want to be mean, he really doesn’t, but he can tell from the look on her face that she still thinks this is all part of some game.
“So why don’t I ever see you eat? Why are you so smart, and always up at night? I know what you are.”
He has to physically hold back a laugh. He takes a step back, and places his hands on the counter.
“Isabella, I have adhd. And I’m literally an engineering student. Why wouldn’t I be smart and have a shitty sleep schedule?”
She starts to protest, and he pulls out the reheated take out from the microwave.
“And for the record, I do eat.”
Exiting the kitchen quickly and retreating back to your room, he hands you your food.
“I got the game set up!” you say excitedly.
“Nice!”
You take one look at his face and can tell something happened. He sees this, and continues.
“I just had a very… interesting interaction with Isabella,” before he finishes the sentence, your head is already in your hands. You let out a groan.
“What did she do?” you mutter from behind your hands.
He pulls you into his lap, rubbing your back.
“I’m not totally sure,” you laugh, “but I think she thinks I’m secretly in love with her…” you’re both laughing before he can even finish the sentence.
“No…” you laugh, “no fucking way…”
“Believe me, I put an end to that as soon as it started.”
“Oh, I do.”
He runs his hand over your back, and you’re quiet for a moment.
“You know,” he continues, “I think getting our own place has definitely moved up the priority list.”
You couldn’t agree more.

Hi I really love everything you write here, but I have a question since you only focua on few group. Do you have a connection or link which every group or non group in SM involved? I watched Yunho solo recently and the place is similar to NCT Heroes (the yellow room) also Changmin single Chocolate is very interesting since he look like he stole something. I belive TVXQ still have a huge influence on SM and they are olderst group on SM. Also about Super Junior which delayed their album past year and change the tittle track, I think its because of SMCU. Shinee is obvious because they take a shoot on train station, which is very important in SM (train). Maybe if you may give me sight about that?
Heyy, sorry for the late response and thanks so much for reading my theories hehe. I hope you don’t mind that I have a huge bomb long essay for you.
As for your question, unfortunately I can’t give you a definite answer. Mainly because I’m not familiar with the older artists’ lores aside from NCT and aespa (at least I have little knowledge for EXO’s and Red Velvet’s). I rarely see people theorizing about them or perhaps I barely come accross their theories. But I’ll give you some things I know.
SMCU as a whole, should be connected in some way. I mean we literally have Kwangya that is like the mixture of every artists’ worlds. We just don’t know how deep are they connected. For the most part, the artists have their own stories that they primarily focuses on in their MVs. Examples are like NCT making their dreams come true and aespa defeating their next villain and perhaps ae-Karina’s problem that we haven’t seen more of it. When we talk about connection of each artists’ stories, its more about SuperM and perhaps GOT (SM’s rotational girlgroup). They all have their own worlds/homeplanets and possibly can visit each other, SMCU Express gave that idea (possibly using trains), but as of now, I don’t think it affects their own lores at least greatly. Again, each artists have their own thing to deal with. Perhaps there can be more connection revealed if we talk about the creation of the whole SMCU and Kwangya, if SM would ever show it to us… we had the Tree of Life but don’t know if they still use it or not. It almost seems like they are rebranding their overall story when they officially introduced SMCU to us, but really, we don’t know. I blame SM for being vague.
Though I do have a theory that, whatever antagonistic character that are featured in their stories, must come from the same source. Take Black Mamba for example. We also had the (eye of the) Red Force, though we don’t know if they still use it. One thing to take note is that, each artists have their own villainous sides. There are MVs or contents that have so much villain vibes (SuperM trailers, RV Irene&Seulgi’s Monster, or honestly many of Taemin’s MVs which made me suspicious of his role in the overall story). This made a lot of people think that there might be an entity that is interfering or influencing them. You may also want to take note of the animals present in MVs. Snakes, deer (with glowing eyes), odd eyed cat (it has the red eye effect), etc. I’ve always thought they’re ‘agents’ under the evil entity.
I watched the videos you mentioned.
As for U-KNOW’s MV, I think its just to match the Korean traditional interior since the concept of the MV has something to do with traditional crime organizations or mafias (please correct me if I’m wrong). Changmin’s Chocolate does look like he stole something, but I don’t remember him actually taking the object? To be honest I’m not very sure if these scenarios are related to their SMCU role. TVXQ’s character is Speed of Light and Sound… I would need to go over all of their MVs and lyrics to understand what that truly means. Vague ideas I had of their characters are that they could be (time) travelers(?), humanoids (because of their song), or something that perhaps have a higher role than other artists since they are one of older ones. For now, I don’t have a clear idea.
I’m sure there is more to SHINee’s lore but as of now, I only know about Taemin’s and his villain-esque aesthetic. Plus his possible connection to snakes and the black mamba. For some reason too, their SMCU Express train was only shown in the sky and Key having speed power(?).
I don’t know about Super Junior delaying their album and changing their title track. And I’m not sure if SMCU affects their real life activities.
But to conclude, there is possibly a connection of each artists’ lores but SM is too vague to reveal it to us. At this point, they are focused on their own stories. Hopefully this year they will bring up SMCU as a whole again and perhaps make contents that will clear what really happened overall but I’m not expecting too much either. We’ll see.

Since the topic of Ismelda came up and no one ever talks about her 🙈😅 I feel like JC doesn't know what to do with her (?). Like they didn't know what to do with Tulip so she appeared less and less, only like a cameo, there was the Cook Off but that tlsq came and went, and she was the least memorable character in there.
But Ismelda is weird cause they seem like they want to include her but don't know how? They can't decide whether she's getting nicer or is still the same old Ismelda. If she's over Barnaby or not. If she's Merula's friend or not.
One of the SQ that most gives me this feeling is The Quibbler - that no one talks about it ever, but I loved that tlsq - in which we see her doing something half understandable (a werewolf in school is dangerous and Dumbledore is an idiot), half unacceptable (especially because it's Chiara we're talking about).
But the thing is, we see her hanging out with a different pair of kids every scene like little henchmen, which is already unlike her, but also several of them were Gryffindors, and it's so OoC.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And I also didn't entirely understand her purpose here. Was it for the money? The pleasure of screwing over Dumbledore? Screwing over the werewolf? It was a really bad thing she almost did and I don't get how JC wants us to view her, because then we get her really friendly in other tlsqs of the same year, which returns with my theory of they're confused about what to do with her.
(Sorry this is stupidly long).
No worries about it being long! In return, you’re getting a pretty long answer. Apologies in advance because I’m gonna be very critical about “The Quibbler” TLSQ as it’s one of my least favourite quests, and I believe that Ismelda is not even its biggest problem.
But first things first. It’s probably just my nit-picking, but I still want to talk about it. I wouldn’t really compare the situations between Tulip and Ismelda. I believe that the main reason why Tulip was moved to the side is her strong connection to the main story. It was revealed by Matt London that her wand is a hand-me-down from her grandmother who attended Mahoutokoro, her parents work at the Ministry (where R might have bigger or smaller influence), there was the whole thing with her friendship with Merula, and Matt London just seemed to be fond of her in general. The problem is that Jam City got lost with their main story at some point. I believe that some of the elements I mentioned about Tulip might still be important, but I think that the problem is not necessarily that Jam City doesn’t know what to do with Tulip – they don’t know what to do with the main story. And Tulip suffers because of that.
I mean, look at Tulip in Y4. She had her whole investigation on Rakepick and the Cursed Vault which led her from House-Elves to Hogsmeade. Then, it was just dropped like a hot potato. Sure, there might be an in-game explanation for that: she was silenced by Rakepick. I mean, there’s no way Patricia didn’t learn about her investigation, and if she was discovering things faster than MC was supposed to, then Rakepick might’ve done something with it. It’s more likely, though, that JC started getting confused with the main story. Too bad that all notes they have on Tulip when it comes to future plans are about that. Anyway, the end result is kind of the same: that they don’t know what to do with Tulip. But as I said, I’m nit-picking.
Now, the situation with Ismelda is very different, in my opinion, because I don’t think she has much direct connection to the main story at all. What I mean by that is that she’s not really interested in the Cursed Vaults, for example. I believe that she joined Merula mainly because she wanted to belong. I don’t know, she just never really showed that she might care about the treasure or even the search itself. Because of that, the writers could work on her just as a character: someone who’s not exactly MC’s friend, but also is not as antagonistic as Merula. And that’s good! But ultimately, I suppose that Ismelda became a victim of the major change in the writing team by the end of Y5.
I talked about it a bit in my analysis on how MC was supposed to use Crucio on Rakepick, perhaps you recall. Either way, I strongly believe that there was some big change around that time. It even can be seen in our recent discussion about Rowan and Barnaby: how the writers seemingly don’t remember that Rowan tutored Barnaby for years etc. And I suppose it’s just the same with Ismelda. Notice how at the beginning of Y6, MC doesn’t remember at all that Ismelda is not that bad. We also totally abandoned the conflict between Ismelda and Merula. It’s not exactly that they grew apart because in Y6Ch13, there’s a scene where we learn that Ismelda still spies for Merula, for example. On the other hand, Merula hangs out with Ben suspiciously often – and Ismelda seemingly doesn’t have any reaction to that. Their relationship is still weird like that in Y7, actually. But what happened with Ismelda’s jealousy from Y5?
Now, the thing with her crush on Barnaby actually seems pretty realistic to me personally. I mean, as someone who used to have a big crush on their friend, I have to say – it’s not that easy to simply say: “Oh, I’m over with that!”, but also you want to be over with that, so it just ends up being very confusing. Of course, it could be as well the case of inconsistent writing, too, but that one thing doesn’t bother me much.
Moving to “The Quibbler” TLSQ, though… I don’t want to sound dismissive or anything, but I honestly don’t think there’s any point in trying to understand Ismelda’s motivation there or what the writers wanted us to think – and that’s simply because I doubt that its creator put much thought into it at all, to begin with. And the most problematic part of it is actually Chiara.
First of all, Chiara was super OoC in this quest. We know from the main story that she likes Divination very much, she’s very serious about it, she even believes Trelawney is a real Seer. There are even parts in Divination classes where she enjoys reading The Quibbler. But here, she suddenly laughs at the magazine? Why? Her strong scepticism makes absolutely no sense! Sure, you could argue that this story change her perspective on Divination and all of that, but the problem is that there’s no such conclusion in this quest. At any point, Chiara didn’t say: “Perhaps I shouldn’t make fun of The Quibbler after all” or anything like that. So, I’m sorry, but I just can’t accept this explanation.
Secondly, Chiara wanted to win money for the ingredients for Wolfsbane Potion, right? And we even had this scene:

But then, as soon as Chiara gets money, she’s all happy that she’ll be able to get ingredients in time. So… Chiara needed only money to get ingredients? So, the quest basically implies that DUMBLEDORE DIDN’T WANT TO GIVE CHIARA MONEY FOR INGREDIENTS? I mean, if Chiara needed only money to be sure that she’ll make it in time, what exactly was stopping Dumbledore from getting the ingredients from the same source?
I’m sorry, but it’s so bullshit. You can say a lot about Dumbledore, but he wouldn’t refuse to give Chiara money in a situation like that. You also can’t tell me that he didn’t have money. And even if you want to believe that Albus would be a scumbag like that, we saw in the “Lone Wolf” TLSQ that Snape cares about Chiara a lot, so he would give her money. Hell, Snape would buy the ingredients himself, brew the Potion and deliver it to Chiara.
The way I see it, someone really wanted to put Chiara in this quest for some reason, but they knew it doesn’t exactly make sense – so they needed a scapegoat. Sadly, Ismelda was the easiest to turn into a bad guy of the story. Honestly, I don’t think that the writer of this quest was thinking anything about how we’re gonna view Ismelda. They just needed to distract the players. I hate to say it, but it’s kind of an equivalent of Merula’s sad backstory. Just in this case, it was rather: “Let’s not care about writing a logical side quest. Let’s make everyone worried about precious cinnamon roll Chiara instead”.
I’m sorry if these statements sound a bit too strong, but I’m really annoyed thinking about how many people were hating on Ismelda after this quest while I didn’t see much on how little sense this story made in general. And truth be told, this whole situation kind of made me dislike Chiara…
Overall, I hope that “The Quibbler” TLSQ was an exception when it comes to Ismelda’s character. I assume that her role will still be somewhere between [MC’s friend] and [Merula]. I mean, I believe that that’s how she is usually (“The Quibbler” TLSQ aside). That being said, I also expect that Jam City is not gonna remember all of the past stories, so I suppose that Ismelda will never be truly consistent.
I have no idea if I addressed your concerns properly. I hope I did. If not, as always, feel free to ask for clarification.

random selection of evidence for dead okudera/spirit village theory *spoilers for frozen roar storyline in y5*
In Japanese folklore, mountains are associated with death, and often represent either a) a space between the world of the living and the dead/the spiritual world, or b) LITERALLY the world of the dead/the spiritual (Hori, 1966)
It is always snowing lightly on the mountain, but the snow never accumulates. Despite the switches between night and day, time does not seem to work normally on the mountain.
okudera first appears right after this sequence of events: 1) saejima drives his snowmobile at high speed into a rock, getting thrown and likely hitting his head as he is knocked unconscious for several seconds (a likely point for entering the realm of the dead/intermediate space between the worlds of the dead and the living??); 2) saejima awakens and fights a bear twice the size of a regular bear; 3) saejima says that he “can’t” die, and then passes out. okudera first appears shortly after. so okudera (and yama-oroshi) both first appear in circumstances where saejima is adjacent to death.
the scenes right after the snowmobile crash features a lot of rotating camera work, and also feature POV shots from the perspective of the antagonist, the bear. this kind of cinematography is not often seen in the series, and suggests an untethering of perspective... as though saejima’s soul were coming detached from his body
It is not entirely clear whether okudera’s former hunting partner died or disappeared. Though he is 99% certainly dead by the time of the story’s events, the ambiguity surrounding the circumstances of his death and disappearance point at a blurring of the lines between life and death.
The Okudera story is overtly focused on trauma, loss and grief - things that would tether the dead to earth.
okudera is repeatedly attacked by Yama-oroshi but is never killed. This repetitive playing out of a painful event is reminiscent of the myth of Sisyphus and certain concepts of purgatory
after being mauled by yama-oroshi the first time, Okudera refuses to confirm to saejima that he is alive; he will only way that he is “more or less” alright
while on the mountain, Saejima can seemingly recover from injuries sustained at the hands (or claws or horns) of wildlife by consuming the raw meat of those animals. This is not how healing works in real life, suggesting that Saejima is not really sustaining physical injuries in the usual sense, but is rather sustaining spiritual injuries of some kind that can be counteracted by taking the spiritual energy (the ‘raw meat’) of other animals/spirits
It is not clear when or how the suspension bridge leading across the crevasse was repaired. In fact, the timeline of the story leaves no space for this to occur. Yet the bridge goes from being broken to being fixed.
Okudera is suspiciously resilient with regard to physical injury, seemingly able at times to bleed profusely for hours on end without passing out. He appears to suffer pain from this, but his functioning is sometimes not hindered, again suggesting that the ‘bleeding’ is not precisely physical and does not obey the laws of medicine.
Bear bile successfully cures Okudera from his illness, although bear bile has no real medicinal effects
The mountain constantly saps away the health of the player, as though remaining in the world of the dead for a longer amount of time makes it more and more difficult to return to life.
Saejima is probably wearing the clothes of mr okduera’s dead hunting partner.
Okudera is fixated on and repeatedly brings up the value of life and the importance of not killing except where strictly necessary
Though absent in the original Japanese, there is a point in the remastered translation where Okudera slips into a kansai accent. This is another piece of evidence suggesting that there is slippage occurring between spirits and bodies.
Near the end of the story, the other villagers know Okudera’s location when he gets injured. Nishina says this is because they were tailing him, but if they were physically present, they would have been able to help him and would not have had to send Saejima after him on the snowmobile. For some reason the villagers knew where Okudera was but were unwilling - or unable - to help him.
The old man at the shrine, Tendo, is literally possessed by literal mountain gods that demonstrate effectual power (causing avalanches, turning invisible, summoning avatars, etc.)
there are many parallels between the stories of okudera & his hunting partner and baba & saejima. this would explain why okudera, if a spirit, took an interest in them.
okudera is capable of standing on top of the snow, as though he were weightless, but avoids doing so around Saejima
it is unclear how saejima and baba get from the village to Sapporo. The time they spend getting down from the mountain is not depicted.

🧁 BadBoyHalo reborn as a demon antagonist AU 🧁
This AU is part of the DSMP Reborn as a “villain” AU multiverse, the link shows the masterpost which explains the AUs & has the index for more AUs that I posted.
If an AU has no link attached, it's coming soon.
Holy crap I went hard for the angst on this one.
CWs for:
Non-consensual body modification (cause of the Egg), Parasites (because Egg), Loss of a limb (Not Egg's fault surprisingly), & Derealization in a paragraph
Let me know if I need to add any other CW or anything else.
--------------------
As a child Bad wakes up 1 day to learn that in his 1st life, he played a video game/read 2 novels where his current life, became 1 of the Demon Lords who willingly worshipped/was possessed by the Egg & worked for it. In fact OG him is the Egg's future 2nd in command & poses as the leader of the empire dedicated to it, & he was killed/defeated late in the story.
(Up to you if it's a game or novel, w/ a game maybe there's multiple routes/choices meaning multiple endings while w/ a novel, in canon the Demon Lords were all killed while in a spin-off they were just defeated not killed or maybe it's the other way around w/ the novels, or maybe it's a single novel w/ a mix of some Demon Lords dying while some survive.)
It was pretty ambiguous if some of the Demon Lords were wholy possessed or willingly worshiped the Egg w/o possession, or a mixture of the 2.
(If we want to we can have this world be the same world where Techno is reincarnated as Billiam, because then they could discover they're in the same boat & bond over it but I'm making those worlds/time periods seperate for this post.)
The Demon Lords & the Egg formed the Eggpire. 1 by 1 in the story they are killed/defeated by Puffy, Sam, &/or Technoblade, the protagonists. If the Demon Lords weren't killed they were defeated at a terrible cost for themselves & others.
Bad won't accept being a villain, or being killed or worshipping/being possessed by the Egg.
The good thing is that he remembered this before the Egg has enough power to get him & the other future Demon Lords under it, so he has time to plan. Actually Bad has a few decades to prepare!
On the off chance that the Egg possessed the lords, he wants to find the future Demon Lords & other major charaters so as to prevent that.
In the original story, Puffy & Sam are demons who betray the Eggpire which they help found early after it's formation due to realizing the Egg is bad. They flee, & later form 'Pro-Omelette' in opposition of it, w/ Technoblade joining their cause at some point in the story after OG Bad & the Egg fails to recruit him.
Unfortunatly, while fleeing, Puffy & Sam fail to do some things/do some things which they regret then & in the future that also has major consequences as they feared.
Another close ally is Hannah, a dryad/nymph who aids them w/ her powers. At some point the Eggpire captures her meaning she has to be saved & after that as the story progresses Sam, Puffy & maybe even Technoblade if he's also a demon starts feeling a strange kinship & repulsion towards & against her.
There's also the starborne mercenary Purpled who isn't willing to work w/ the Eggpire due to them taking his big sibling figure.
(Starborne means the starborne origins from the Origins mods for Minecraft).
Everyone has their own motifs, Puffy the sheep demon pirate has pirate & sheep motifs. Sam the creeper demon redstoner has a redstone motif. Techno has a pig motif. Purpled's motifs are stars, galaxy patterns & just anything to do w/ space.
Ponk, the chicken demon w/ a lemon (tree) & chicken motif is Sam's ex who was heartbroken by his sudden disappearance. He joined the very Eggpire Sam betrayed & had his heartbreak used to harden his resolve for the Egg's desires.
He is the 1st Demon Lord to be killed/defeated. If defeated he's turned against the Egg w/ the power of love leading to Sam & Ponk making up, maybe they never go back to dating or Ponk's ability to love was taken away by the Egg after he goes against it.
Maybe early in the fight Sam is holding back his emotions, cuts of Ponk's arm which leads to Ponk's reaction snapping Sam out of it & then Sam has to convince Ponk he geniunely loves him & regrets leaving him the rest of the fight, just angst.
(Sam saving Ponk from the Eggpire w/ the power of love only for Ponk losing the ability to love after betraying the Eggpire, oh yeah the angst).
If Ponk is killed, well Sam is extra vulnerable to the Egg's influence & risks getting brainwashes by it while carries the guilt of killing his lover w/o reconciling.
Maybe Ponk isn't killed but Sam's tunnel vision to defeat him causes Ponk to die of broken heart syndrome (maybe induced by the Egg?) oof & Sam regrets not contacting Ponk after escaping the Eggpire & forming Pro-Omelette & is extra vulnerable to the Egg.
Also there's these these flowers called Carnations that have different meanings depending on color, maybe the 2 have a shared magical carnation flower that Sam ends up taking w/ him while fleeing from the Egg, so the dark red flower (love & affection) becomes almost fully yellow (disapointment & rejection) which makes Sam truly realize the extent of what he's done by leaving Ponk w/o like a note on what's going on.
Maybe to Sam's horror the flower sometimes flashes to being striped (regret love can't be shared) before going back to being yellow w/ a tiny bit of dark red some where.
During the battle, if Sam manages to convince Ponk to defect from the Egg, the flower flashes fully dark red but then the Egg take Ponk's ability to love. This takes away Ponk's connection to the flower making it half dead & the flower permanently is striped.
If we go the route of Ponk's death, the flower doesn't flash dark red at all, it goes from yellow to striped when Ponk dies, disconnecting his magic to the flower making the flower half dead.
Punz is next to go, they are a human mercenary turned into a demon after joining the Eggpire be it because of possession or there being promising gains of wealth from joining the Eggpire. He has a wealth motif.
Since Punz was turned by the Egg, he has Blood Vine's for horns & said vines for a tail.
Punz fights his own brother & talks about how the money is worth more than Purpled, how they don't love Purpled, etc., which Purpled refuses to believe is true.
Punz either dies (meaning a grieving Purpled for the rest of the story vulnerable to the Egg) or ends up in a coma (extra angsty if Purpled thinks he it himself).
Purpled is scared for his big sibling's health, will they be okay when the Egg dies? Well, after the Egg's defeat Punz wakes up some point afterwards but his health is awful, said awful health will last a long time & they can never do mercenary work again, both he & Purpled are distraught by this.
Punz's demon features are especially sickly & act like a parasite for a while before just dying. Punz basically didn't/couldn't have his connection to the Egg & his new demonhood removed, now he's here w/ maybe chronic fatigue because the Egg seriously fucks people over even in death.
Skeppy, a blue-turned-red diamond golem-turned-demon, goes down after Punz's defeat. Skeppy has a gem motif, & in the past made a purely proffesional deal w/ OG Bad, while OG Bad would forfeit his immortality to make Skeppy harder for death to claim, & as a result became a demon, Skeppy would provide OG Bad w/, let's say 1/2 of the gems & riches he owned.
Remember that if Skeppy dies, Bad dies but Bad can't die w/o Skeppy dying 1st.
Skeppy basically helps fund the Eggpire. When the Egg decides to give Skeppy some demon stuff itself, Skeppy not only is made of red diamonds now, but his body is cracked if not before & there are roots & flowers sticking out of said cracks.
Skeppy joins the Eggpire because of possession &/or promises of an even longer life through a connection w/ 2 demons.
After his defeat, the Eggpire is more desperate than ever due to losing a big funder, putting effort into getting Skeppy back. The vines also act parasitic after the Egg's fall before dying but not w/o Skeppy's mind & body being damaged by the vines.
If Skeppy is killed then OG Bad's connection to the Egg is the only thing keeping him alive if barely meaning Bad's easier to kill & the Eggpire more desperate than in the route Skeppy lives.
Antfrost, the demon w/ a cat, ant & ice motifs, the '2nd in command' of the Eggpire to the everyone. Only alone w/ the Egg & OG Bad is he called the 3rd in command since that's what he truly was.
If Ant is killed/defeated, OG Bad has to deal w/ getting a new “2nd” in command, this time keeping her in the shadows so as to keep her from being taken on by Pro-Omelette. Security is tightened as much as it can be.
The Eggpire becomes even more stressed if Ant is defeated & is w/ Pro-Omelette 1 way or another because Ant knows a lot of stuff they'd rather never get out.
If Ant's defeated & a prisoner of the protagonists, maybe they get some info from him but soon he is released by a traitor but as he escapes he winds up stranded somewhere in a place that won't be kind to him unaware of how to get back to the Eggpire. Perhaps for the rest of the story.
At this point Pro-Omelette also tighten security since they have a traitor in their ranks.
Althought Hannah is acting suspicious, she isn't like vanishing at random times or acting that off so they can't exactly suspect her. She's got sick this once & has been pretty unwell but who can blame her? So many of her flowers got destroyed & leeched off of in Ant's escape.
The demons of Pro-Omelette are feeling a strange repulsion against her but also a strange kinship towards her.
If Skeppy is dead, Bad when being confronted by the enemy instantly is sapped of all his power & life left since the Egg realizes it's about to loose him. Or his connection to the Egg is severed by Pro-Omellete before it can happen leading to him naturally dying.
If Skeppy isn't dead however, Bad is captured but not w/o the Egg taking all the power it can from him severely weakening him on a level of power & health.
OG Bad was a very powerful demon & so if Skeppy lives, the Egg gets a major power boost before his capture, but in the route of Skeppy's death, the Egg doesn't get that much since it had to keep Bad from dying.
After Bad is down, Hannah goes missing again & there are 2 groups, 1 to find Hannah & the other to take down the Egg once & for all.
Either 1 or both groups find the Egg & to their horror they find out since Hannah's 1st capture the Egg brainwashed her, has been leaching off of her & replaced the flowers she wears w/ it's vines.
The Egg holds Hannah's life over them. If the Egg took the power of OG Bad in the route Skeppy lives it's much for difficult to try & defeat the Egg & save Hannah.
Also the Egg turned Hannah into a demon that has the power to grow vines & flowers. She's powerful but even more if Skeppy lives.
Egged!Hannah does a number on Pro-Omelette. She goes as far as to maim, kill controlling the vines & worm parasitic plants in people. The Egg has these powers too.
There are 4 directions at this point.
Pro-Omelette succesfully kills the Egg while getting Hannah out of it's grasp in the process, of course there's the parasitic plants & other damage done to the protagonists' side as well as Hannah who's health is super fucked liked many in the final battle (it's kinda like what happens to Punz if he lives).      Like Hannah who was turned into some egg-demon who's egg-demon parts act like parasites & others w/ the parasitic plants in them have to deal w/ the plants till said parasites die & even then there's the stuff to deal /w the parasites deaths.
Hannah is killed by the Egg sapping everything from her & fighting w/ all it's new might but still killed. The damage done to everyone else is significantly worse.      I'm not even accounting for the background characters brainwashed, genuinly worshipping the Egg dealing w/ the fall of the Egg, the aftermath, etc.
The Egg & Egged!Hannah win, some Pro-Omelette members in battle are killed while the rest are captured to be egged.
Hannah dies to the Egg sapping everything from her & the Egg wins w/ it's rejuvenated power. Many Pro-Omelette members in battle are killed while the rest are captured to be egged.      Basically 3 & 4 are the bad endings, while 1 & 2 are the 'good endings.'
As I said before, there's so much I'm not considering. I can't bring myself to further work on the canon of the game/novel(s) Bad played before being isekaied.
But yeah the game/novels were full of angst & Bad was super into it so he wants to give everyone (especially his favorite character(s)) a happy ending.
People around Bad notice he's changed his behavior but lets say it's not enough to warrant any investigation.
Bad starts studying defensive magic since he doesn't want to die, he also learns all he can about summoning, deals w/ summoners, etc.. While he's at it he's tracking down all the major characters & is going to make sure they know what he's learned to prevent any possession.
When Bad finds the major characters, he becomes close friends to them but he's still nervous at the idea that the people he's befriending like Sam, Puffy & co. will kill/maim him.
Or we could have it so that Bad becomes cofortable w/ his friends & confessed about having a past life & all the knowledge of future events he has. You're choice.
When Skeppy summons him & he makes the deal w/ Skeppy he makes sure to hang around his #1 favorite character because, in his 1st life Bad loved Skeppy's character & now he has the chance to geniunely know & become friends w/ Skeppy. Skeppy even warms up to Bad & geniunely begins seeing him a a friend!
Uh, I didn't exactly develop the world much, oops, let's say that Bad is born into a high enough position to change the living conditions of those of lower class of those around him.
Bad out of fear of the Egg makes sure as many people as possible have the common sense to not do anything stupid, has the knowledge & defense to not get possessed, & more, regardless of whatever barriers are in his way.
Since the Egg makes promises, he makes sure to nip that bud as much as he can, such as making sure that even in death, loved ones can communicate via like necromancy/something else, everybody has their needs met, prejudices are squashed as much as possible, etc.
Bad, while earning the ire of many who liked things the way they were, also earns the support of those who benifited from his actions. He also actually listens to what people are saying because he can't let the Egg have any chances.
The main cast of the game/novel(s) Bad read also help out, even more if Bad confessess about his past life.
(The next paragraph has some derealization, said section of derealization being in bold.)
If we want angst, we could have Bad (& co. if they know?) overworking themselves sometimes because the Egg can't have any chances, maybe sometimes he (& others) can't go to bed because he/she/they are terrified of the Egg, terrified of it, worried about the Egg already being here, worried about the Egg already somehow possibly controlling & possessing them & already being possessed, sometimes wondering if their own mind & eyes can be trusted—
On the bright side we can hopefully have some comfort & fluff after that angst & hurt.
Also there's this 1 guy also helping Bad out as much as the main cast called Karl, he disappears at random times but by the looks of it, he isn't connected to the Egg in any way & is really helpful so there's not much to worry about.

anyways idt we're getting a trc show but I have so Many Ideas on how to introduce henry cheng to the audience (but not the characters) in a way that cements him as Someone Who Knows Whats Up - maybe even establishing him as a possible antagonist/suspicious character- until his interactions and development w the main cast circa Blue Lilly
some of my thoughts (i actually would do a storyboard/script but nobody reads Henry content so. rip) : if we assume books=seasons
> s1: henry established as an Aglionby Boy immediately - rodansey pass by, cheng waves to gansey or squints after them or is significantly Looking in the background. its subtle . he's surrounded by a very Aglionby gaggle of snickering boys: blue sneers at them across the nino's parking lot,etc etc. he’s not named but its shown that he is Popular
> s2: the scene in tdt where ronsey confront K. ronsey leave, and a sleek fisker pulls up and here he is- dressed like a mf model (also the first time we see him out of uniform) - but his aesthetic veers a little too into villainy color palettes. dark on dark? in a YA drama?  kavinsky sneers at him, still seething from the Ronsey RoastTM. "Henryyy Cheng," K introduces him finally, sarcastically goes, "why the fuck is there so much royalty on my court tonight?". we establish that K, Gansey and Henry are all aglionby royalty in different ways (re: you're a prince among men/the difference between us and Kavinsky is that we matter) . Henry just shrugs, because he's here to designated-driver a very unsober Jiang. as he's slinging his arm over his shoulder, he speaks very casually. "Joseph, what's that they said about violent delights?"
K spits. "Something about fires and triumphs and dying. Fuckin’ Shakespeare." here we give K minor depth : acknowledge the romeo/juliet vibe he's trying to have with ronan. acknowledge its stupid.
"huh," Henry says. "is that where it's from? I saw it on westworld." Henry is still very much a vague raven boy on the surface : this is his version of President Cell Phone. jiangs probably saying some dumb drunk shit he ignores. but he's doing a kind action, speaking politely - using the same name gansey does - but the audience can't tell if he and K actually like each other. (they don't. this is henry still gauging Kavinskys “number”.) it’s reasonable to expect K to spew some other toxic shit as henry shepherds jiang to the car. scene ends, back to gangsey.
> s2: the ending of dream thieves. camera very deliberately snaps to henry looking at the fight with a very un-vague expression : he’s sharply staring - the first time the audience sees this side. we know that he’s seeing everything. maybe he pushes away some innocent bystanders or whatever idk . or maybe he turns and his gaze unerringly goes right to gansey. we still cant tell if hes a Good Guy or not
>s3 : BLLB scenes as is.
- the scene with adams perfect circle, henry stares at him Very Sharply as he takes the coffee ganseys made and raises an eyebrow at gansey like Hey Bud You Seeing This & hes like oh shit but then henry just shrugs like man, time to sue! haha!  - the car scene, especially : isnt it suspicious that henry is exactly where he can ask gansey specifically for help? wack. - can include additional hostile interactions w ronan or adam.  - noah pulls some Spooky Shit in public - nobody else even looks in his direction but henry is the only one who looks right at it. he makes More Knowing Eye Contact w gansey or blue across the lot. his friends r all laughing like teens but henry is still until someone jabs him and he turns back. gansey makes this Hmm face but they have more pressing matters like noah going beast mode
- i think some trk scenes need to be included in s3, because TRK is a pretty dense book vs BLLB. perhaps the toga party scene can be pushed to final ep/s

Something I wish had happened in canon during the New Lmanburg era, and I'm probably going to write a fanfic about
Alright so you know how DSMP has made people look into trauma, abuse, the prison system, anarchism, etc etc, right? Something I wish they got to explore was Privacy vs Safety/Security. My stage and mains for this would be when Tommy was on probation, with Fundy being the main 'antagonist' (more on Fundy later)
Maybe Tubbo or Quackity or Dream feel like just having Tommy report to Fundy isn't enough (we all saw how he just mocked/insulted him in the end in those books) and want Fundy to actively follow him around. Tommy being insulted by this, or encouraging it arrogantly because "I won't ever let Dream use me against Lmanburg/let Tubbo down". If Tommy tells them off for wanting this, have Dream pull the dreaded "You wouldn't mind having Fundy keep an eye on you, if you didn't have anything to hide. Do you have something to hide, Tommy? Doing something wrong?" card. (We've all heard it)
Maybe Tommy doesn't have anything planned at all, but gets more and more frustrated at being watched so closely, even the most innocent things gets him prying questions because they (Dream) can come up with so many stupid ways anything can be classified as a 'weapon' or a set up. (Dream because he's purposely antagonizing Tommy, The Cabinet because they're paranoid Dream will think it's enough of a "step out of line"). To the point where Tommy lashes out at Fundy, disappointing the Cabinet for attacking one of their own.
If Tommy does have something planned, then he has to keep finding ways to get past Fundy, quickly stashing stuff aside when the fox catches up (he draws on this knowledge during Exile, depressingly good at hiding things from Dream out of fear because he got caught last time and look where he is now). On Fundy's end, we get to see him catch up to Tommy, wise up to his tricks and deflections, because you can't outfox a fox. Keep secrets from a (ex-?)spy.
Fundy can burrow just as well, eyes catching on trip wires and unearthed dirt. Every little detail in his daily reports to the Cabinet. (Tommy tries to steal those too, burn them or edit them)
Now on Fundy's POV (you think I'm only going to explore one end of this? Please)
Why is Fundy doing this so enthusiastically?
He gets to contribute, protect L'Manburg, help when before he could not. They want him to spy on someone, something he did in Pogtopia, but that never came to fruition, his Spy's Diary tossed aside and never brought to use in the final battle. But now? They want someone with his exact skills. He'll be useful this time. Needed.
Maybe he has doubts, moments where he compares Tommy to Schlatt- Schlatt was a dictator, grinding Manburg's citizens, their joy, to the ground over time. Tommy gave up his discs, a life, for L'Manburg's freedom. There's no comparing them. But he's a threat now, and Fundy can't let his father's country be trapped again. So he convinces himself it's necessary, gets paranoid that Tommy actually is up to something that will doom them all.
You could sprinkle in a little of that headcanon where Fundy is jealous of Tommy, conciously or not, for having Wilbur's attention and trust, more than his own son ever did. (He was the right hand man, Wilbur chose him, chose Tubbo, over Fundy for presidency)(He doesn't think about how Wilbur did that so they would be President of a Crater, but we know)
Fundy keeps digging and digging and digging, and Tommy is fucking exhausted, he has no privacy, even things that are noone's business, he has to give up, for 'the safety of our country'. He can't stand being constantly accused of doing shit he hasn't. The more agitated he is, the more suspicious he is.
Dream keeps stoking the fires. He keeps visiting, at first fake-paranoid, so the Cabinet will be as well. Then he laughs, he continues complimenting Tubbo, growing close, assuring him he's the best President Lmanburg has ever had. He makes it seem trivial, Fundy's surveillance of Tommy. Just a little thing, insinuates, assumes, that well, this could just be a normal thing, Yes? Keep Tommy on watch for the rest of time. It shouldn't affect Tommy that much, he's probably already gotten used to it! Such a little thing, for peace between the Greater Dream SMP and New Lmanburg. A little thing for some security for the country that has gone through so much. Tommy and the citizens get more tense (he has an infectious attitude). Tubbo's siding with Dream (in Tommy's eyes), how could he how could he?
It all comes crashing down with the Community House.
