One of the little things I liked about across the spiderverse was that, once again, JK Simmons was cast as J Jonah Jameson. For the third time.

Like they saw him in Tobey Maguire's films and said "well. If it ain't broke don't fix it. he came back for a Tom Holland one... let see?" And they were correct. You cannot beat Simmons' casting as Jameson. The voice. The moustache. The energy. They did it right the first time in 2001. He has out lived his original Spider-man. No one else could play him like he can, to the point he's not even shown, and just his voice is used but you still know exactly who is calling Spider-man a menace. I love him.

Maybe he's dead and the entirety of his legacy is confined to a single room in a small town that your heroes will never visit. i watched kfp 4 and not gonna write all my thoughts about it but... this is what tai lung sounds like in english...? no disrespect but in french he has a voice that is so much lower and hoarse you can't beat french tai lung (hear him here)

#also long story short: i thought kfp 4 was weak. not necessarily bad but just weak. it was like watching a remake of kfp 2 for most of it. #the number of characters that did not have any line makes me think they did not have budget to hire them so they did not make them talk #and i do not like the implication of this... #ngl kfp in french is very well dubbed and it gotta be one of the rare films i enjoy more in french than in original voice #except for kfp3 because man i just love jk simmons' voice...
