Hi ! I don't know if you've ever had this request but can I ask for Price, Soap and Alejandro where the reader gets a mental breakdown ? Like for König, Ghost and Valeria :-) Thanks xoxo
Hey hey, sorry that it took me ages to fulfill your request!
Stupid me wrote for König ghost and Val again, cause yeah, I forgot that I had already wrote that for them🫡👍
Hope you’re enjoying it anyways, have a nice day/night
Price:
- he knows how to deal with you, it is more instinct than experience, although he has that too
- depending on what you like and what you do not like he acts
- you need physical contact? You are in his arms faster than you can look, your head buried against his chest while he gently strokes your head and back.
- Price knows with which words he has to calm you down
- you don't want physical contact or words? He sits down next to you and listens to you.
- you don't want to talk? It's ok, he stays with you as long as you want him to.
- you want him to leave? He leaves immediately and makes you your favorite food and drink
- he puts it in front of your door, knocks and leaves so that he does not disturb you further
- he just wants to make sure you have enough to eat and drink, and that you know he is there when you need him
- you don't want to be alone? No problem cook your favorite food with him
- you just want to cuddle and watch a movie? No problem, he has already provided snacks
- he can sit next to you for hours and just listen to you
- you want professional help? He has an appointment with a psychologist faster than you can count to three.
- no matter what it is, no matter what you need, you will get it
- because he wants to see you happy
- you deserve to be happy
- when he is not in the country, it is a little difficult for him to give you support, he doesn't have many friends and no one from his family is living either
- the employees he left the villas to, take care of you though, they are kind hearted people and are more family to Price than his biological parents and relatives ever were.
- However, if you are near laswell and her wife, Price will gladly leave you in their care because he knows that you are in good hands there.
Alejandro:
- No matter where he finds you, whether at home or at his base, he is immediately by your side
- he is a little confused at first, did something happen? Did someone do something to you? Is it something you can change? Tell him, he is worried
- he pulls you into his arms and presses you to his chest, he wants you to know that he is with you and nothing can happen to you
- you hear from him the sweetest words while he tries his best to calm you down
- many kisses on your forehead, even if you don't really like physical contact
- he thinks it is best that you feel the presence and warmth of another person at such a time
- he immediately offers you to do something, be it cooking, sports or a movie, distraction is the best medicine
- he asks you questions without you really noticing, he wants to know the reason for your mental breakdown without addressing you directly and risking that you might close yourself off from him completely
- he hates to see you like this, knowing that it is normal from time to time
- he just wants to see your happy YOU, because he wants you to be happy, you deserve to be happy
- he also lets you have a warm bath when you need one, massages your shoulders and takes care of you all day long.
- when he is not present you are either with his family and his mother and also his father take care of you
- his parents treat you like their own child and do everything to make you feel better
- his sisters are also by your side and support you as much as they can
- if no one from his family is around then Alejandro knows that he can rely on Rudy, Rudy may not be him but Alejandro knows that he can entrust you to Rudy.
- you are one big family
Soap :
- he is a little overwhelmed with the situation at the beginning, but he acts quite instinctively and pulls you into his arms
- the first thing he asks you is what's wrong, if you need help or if you are hurt.
- he looks at your body, you don't seem to be hurt, but what is it then? Is it something psychological?
- He tries to calm you down and lightens the mood with jokes.
- when it doesn't work he tells you stories that happened to him, that he fell headfirst out of a helicopter during a mission thanks to Ghost's terrible flying skills and that Price held him by his pants, tore them and he had to complete the rest of the mission without pants after they reached the ground
- he hears a soft laugh? That's his reason to tell more stupid stories
- he likes your face so much more when you smile
- after you seem to have calmed down a bit he asks you if you want to eat something, saying that all the stories have made him hungry, but he just wants you to eat something so that your body has enough energy
- when you want something to eat he immediately drives to your favorite fast food place
- you want something mexican? He is the first to call Alejandro, even if he should still be asleep due to the time difference, he wants the best recipe he can get, and that's why he calls Alejandro.
- he tries to talk to you carefully while you are eating, but if he notices that you are not ok with it, he asks if you want to watch a movie while you are eating
- if you want to talk about it he likes to listen to you all night long
- he's out of the country and you're not feeling well? Go to mommy McTavish, she is already waiting for you with open arms, warm food and a warm hug.
Ghost
- no matter where he finds you, he immediately knows what the problem is
- he is not really the type to touch you, so he just sits next to you
- he tells you calmly and with a deep voice that you have to breathe in and out deeply
- sweet words leave your mouth, he does this not just to make you feel better but because he thinks you deserve them
- he gently strokes your head and back when he really likes you, while you slowly calm down thanks to his breathing exercises
- he wants you to know that he is there for you
- he is asking you out what the problem is, he doesn't want to waste his time and yours and maybe make the problem worse
- it may seem insensitive but he is doing this for your own good, the sooner he knows what the problem is the sooner he can help you properly
- but if you just want to talk, that's ok, he is already analyzing the real problem
- you want to eat something?ok, from where do you want to get something? He drives you there
- he is always there for you, don't forget that
Valeria
- the first thing she does is ask if anyone has hurt you, if so, that bastard will die no matter who it is.
- she hates to see you like this, you should be happy and enjoy your life, cause you deserve it
- she pulls you into her arms and her smell gives you instant comfort, she smells of roses and the finest spices
- she may not understand what is going on or why you are feeling this way but if her presence helps you to feel better she will do everything to give you what you need
- she would not like to leave you alone at this time, even if you want to be alone.
- she cooks for you anything you want
- if she can not be with you, her mother is always near you and helps you
König:
- he probably knows best how you feel
- he is not really good at calming you down, but he try’s his best, pulls you into his lap, wraps his arms around your body and covers you with a blanket
- Warmth helps, at least he thinks it does
- he is not really talkative either, but he murmurs softly in your ear how strong you are, that everything will be alright and that you will soon be able to laugh again
- he gently strokes your head, back and gives you kisses on the forehead
- he would never leave you in such a situation even if you want to be alone, because he does not want to leave you alone
- he just wants to show you that he is always with you
- when you fall asleep he puts you carefully in his bed and goes to make you something to eat like schnitzel and French fries or some other traditional food from his region

Remember when you mentioned that some people think SP is So Deep? Sad thing is, it could be yeah. I'm not surprised they detect the possibility and mistake it for the real thing. The series broaches a lot of pretty deep ideas that could have been manifested quite splendidly, but they were not. Maybe that is in itself the moral of the story. Grim lmfao
Or maybe the people that think SP is deep are twelve-year-olds. If not physically then mentally...
I mean, Land fucked up the most basic of philosophical mantras. "I think, so I am", he messed that up when he had Skul state that Darquesse is just Val's bad mood since at the time Darquesse had already developed her own personality. And I know that he didn't have Skul get it wrong on purpose bc he always tries to portray Skul as the smartest person in the room even tho he's a fucking moron whose 'plans' usually consist of out-punching the opponent.
There is also a part where Val and Skul talk about going to therapy and what Skul says shows Landy's complete ignorance of the value of therapy/going to a psychologist. This man doesn't even know the basics about the human condition, which... explains a lot about these books actually.

The Other Bill and Ted.
As No Man of God hits theaters and VOD following its Tribeca premiere in June, director Amber Sealey talks to Dominic Corry about her Ted Bundy two-hander and answers our Life in Film questions.
Amber Sealey has been very acknowledging of the fact that her new film is one of many to center around the horrific crimes of serial rapist and murderer Ted Bundy. As she outlined in her Tribeca Q&A with Letterboxd, one way she intended No Man of God to stick out from the pack was through the use of consciously silent background characters who represent Bundy’s voiceless victims.
The structure and source of the film also help distinguish it from other Ted Bundy movies: No Man of God is based on the recordings of FBI agent Bill Hagmaier (played in the film by Elijah Wood), who was tasked with interviewing an incarcerated Bundy in the years leading up to his execution, in order to help determine whether or not he was criminally insane, which could’ve helped to remove Bundy from death row.
With many of Bundy’s victims never officially attributed to the killer, Hagmaier also sought to draw confessions, and something resembling remorse, out of Bundy, to help bring closure to those victims’ families. As detailed in the film, much of which was taken directly from transcripts of the interviews, Bundy and Hagmaier’s relationship was complicated, and the intimacy that develops between them informs No Man of God in often uncomfortable ways.
Tumblr media
Luke Kirby and Elijah Wood in a scene from ‘No Man of God’.
Wood (also a producer on the film) and Luke Kirby turn in career-high work as Hagmaier and Bundy, respectively, while Sealey textures the film with some of the most emotive stock-footage montage sequences this side of The Parallax View. Among positive reactions to the film, Claira Curtis, in a four-star review, writes: “Perhaps one of the most successful elements lies in Amber Sealey’s uncentering of the ‘genius’ moniker that has followed Bundy through his years of infamy.” On the pairing of Wood and Kirby in the leading roles, Connor Ashdown-Ford notes that “the chemistry between them both is so authentic it’s darn right unsettling”.
Unsettling is right. Late in the film, Sealey depicts a real-life TV interview that took place between Bundy and evangelical preacher/author/psychologist James Dobson (played by stalwart character actor Christian Clemonson), who uses Bundy to forward his anti-pornography agenda. Throughout this scene, the camera lingers on a young female member of the TV crew (played by an uncredited Hannah Jessup) as she silently reacts to being in Bundy’s presence. Emblematic of Sealey’s aforementioned philosophy in constructing the film, it’s a moment that appears to be having an impact on audiences, as detailed in Nolan Barth’s review: “She might have one of my favorite performances of this year? She shows us fascination, guilt, disgust and fear in like only 30 seconds of screen time. Give her an Oscar. Please.”
In an awkward incident that represents a perhaps unanticipated effect of there being so many contemporaneous movies with the same subject matter, director Joe Berlinger (Metallica: Some Kind of Monster, the Paradise Lost trilogy), who recently directed both the Zac Efron-starring scripted Ted Bundy biopic Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile and the documentary Conversations with a Killer: The Ted Bundy Tapes, sent an email to Sealey ahead of No Man of God’s Tribeca premiere about remarks she had made while discussing how her film differentiated itself from the existing Ted Bundy movies. He felt she had accused him of glorifying Bundy. After Sealey took the exchange public, she explained to Variety that she had never singled out Berlinger’s films in any of her remarks.
In a conversation with Letterboxd, Sealey delves into her approach to No Man of God, and talks about some of her filmic inspirations.

There is really effective and creepy use of stock-footage montages in this film. Sometimes you see that sort of thing at the beginning of a film, but it’s interesting that you keep going back to them after using them in the opening credits. What was the thinking in using those montages and how did you select the footage? Amber Sealey: The thinking for those was a couple things: One, we don’t leave the prison, and I wanted [the audience] to know a little bit what’s going on outside, in terms of the cultural zeitgeist, like what’s the tone of the time? What movies are popular? What books are popular? What are people wearing? I wanted to have there be a kind of cultural touchstone outside of the prison, but at the same time I wanted it to represent potentially a little bit of what was going on inside Bill’s mind. So the story of the montages as they go on, it gets a little bit more fucked up, for lack of a better word, for Bill, inside of his head.
We were originally going to shoot the crowd scenes [of protesters outside the prison] and recreate them and then because of Covid restrictions, we couldn’t do that anymore. So then I knew we were going to be using archival footage for the crowd, and I didn’t want the archival crowd footage to suddenly jump out as being so different from the rest of our film. We’re shooting on an ARRI camera, [so it’s] not going to look like a Hi-8 from the 1980s. I needed to incorporate this look, this ’80s grainy look into the rest of the movie so that it feels like it’s part and parcel of the film, part of the storytelling.
We got [the footage] in different ways. I have an old friend that I’ve known since I was like, two, he lived next door to me, and my cousin, they both had video cameras in the ’80s and would film everything. So some of that footage is old family footage of their family or friends. There’s a couple shots in there of my neighbors when I was growing up. Then some of it, we did a lot of research on [stock-imagery services] Getty and Pond5, just finding archival footage that we could use that really told the story that we wanted to tell with the montages. It was a lengthy process finding all of that footage for sure.
What was Bill Hagmaier’s involvement in the film? Bill is an executive producer on the film, so he was very involved. The transcripts of those conversations between Bill and Ted, we got from Bill. Bill gave us so much great stuff to work with—the newer FBI files that he was allowed to share with us and the recordings, and when the script was originally written it was written based off of those recordings, and the writer originally spoke to Bill and then when I came on board, I talked to him and then I changed the script, even more from conversations I had with him. He was just a resource.
Almost every [character] you see on screen, those are real people, and he hooked us up with a lot of those real people. I spoke with the prison guards and the wardens and all of that. Then he was just a resource in terms of like, I would ask him, “what color were your shoes?” “Did you carry this kind of briefcase or that kind of briefcase?” Because it was important to me that all that production-design stuff was really authentic. I liked to know, like, “what were your haircuts like then, Bill?” So he was available to talk about the emotional side of things, and then the real just humdrum kind of things. He’s just a lovely guy, he’s really supportive of me and of the film and he just wanted to be accessible as much as he could and he was. He’s a very humble, generous person.

Aleksa Palladino plays civil-rights attorney Carolyn Lieberman to Luke Kirby’s Ted Bundy.
What films did you watch, or cite as reference points in preparation for No Man of God? Literally hundreds and hundreds of movies. When I’m looking for my creative look, I just watched so many films, and a lot of old films. I’d have to go back and look at my look book to tell you all of them but I pull images from the weirdest places. But once I get past figuring out the creative look of the film, I don’t then like to watch the movies a lot because I try to really make it its own thing and I worry too much that I’ll be copycatting other artists and I want to try [to] avoid that.
What’s your favorite true-crime movie? Oh god, what was the one about the guy who like, went to the bathroom and confessed, accidentally? He forgot his mic was on? Do you remember that one?
The Jinx? Yeah. Even though it’s a documentary, I’m going to go with that.
What’s your favorite big-screen serial-killer performance? It has to be Luke Kirby. Luke Kirby as Bundy.
What was the first horror film you saw? My dad had me watch Cat People when I was nine. Does that count?
The Val Lewton one? The ’80s one.
Oh, the Paul Schrader one? Yes! The Paul Schrader one.
Tumblr media
Nastassja Kinski in Paul Schrader’s ‘Cat People’ (1982).
When you were nine years old? Yeah. I also watched Blue Velvet when I was nine. Oh wow, thank you Dad.
What’s the most disturbing film you’ve ever seen? Most disturbing, hmm… Kids.
What film made you want to become a filmmaker? It was Michael Winterbottom’s Nine Songs. My first film was a reaction to that movie. I’m a huge Winterbottom fan. That’s a great movie, but also it advertises itself as being a real relationship and real sex and I watched it and I was like, well that’s not like any… it was like two models, you know? Their sex scenes were like a perfume ad and I was like, well that’s not what real sex looks like for real people. I made my first feature after that.
What’s your go-to comfort movie? Oh, so many, let’s think. The Proposal. I love Trainwreck. I really like rom-coms, like if I’m sick or something, I’ll watch rom-coms. Roman Holiday, stuff like that.
What’s a classic that you couldn’t get into or that you think is overrated? Umm. Star Wars. I’m trying to think, there’s something else that I just don’t like… everyone loves that singing movie. What’s that singing movie that when Moonlight won the Oscar, it got announced?
La La Land. Yeah. I was not into that.
What filmmaker living or dead do you envy/admire the most? Yorgos Lanthimos. Or Phoebe Waller-Bridge.
If you were forced to remake a classic movie, what would you remake? Grease.
Who would be in the cast of your Grease remake? Oh I don't even know but it would be much darker. It would still be a musical and still be funny, but much darker.
I would like to see that movie. I would too.

If you were to re-do the scene with Bucky and his therapist but with Amelia instead, how would the scene go?
Oohh that is an interesting question! (although I also kind of have to sort through what I, me, Josie, would do (as someone who really likes the fictional character Bucky and his backstory and also writing) vs. what Amelia would do (as a fictional therapist invented by a writer who knows fuck-all about therapy). Bc Amelia is very different to the therapist-character both as a) a therapist and b) a person. And that’s less about “what makes a good therapist” but “how does Amelia deal with things and what does she consider good therapy.”
For me, personally, I think what really bothers me the most about those therapy scenes in Falcon and Winter Soldier and really the way Bucky is being treated: This therapy is forced on him in the first place. He doesn’t want to be there. And this therapist often treats him in a very passive-aggressive way, especially in the first therapy scene. (I especially hated the thing with the notebook considering that Bucky and doctors with notebooks...yeah, they have a history).
And I know that a very common fandom reaction to his therapy scenes was that it is nice for Bucky that he is in a position where he can choose to push back, to refuse stuff - something he couldn’t do in ages. But personally, I don’t think putting him in a conflict position is the best way to get him to open up. I mean, it’s nice to teach him to push back (which is actually something we know he already can do bc we often see him do it when interacting for example with Sam and the entire idea of Bucky being some soft trembling flower is kind of a fandom-take) but I think the guy has bigger issues.
Now, talking specifically about Amelia and the kind of character I see her as:
One thing that I try to make Amelia do a lot is that she tries not to push people. She has a stubborn streak when it comes to how she perceives herself, but she doesn’t push that on others. That is for example why she told Val and Jacopo that they could leave any time if they needed to take a break or why she let Val get coffee when it was obviously her way of stalling - bc she could tell that Val was uncomfortable and didn’t want to add to that by saying: “Hey sit your ass down and talk now.” So it’s easier to let Val get her additional three minutes of getting coffee and then having her sit down for good.
It’s also why when she was invited to their house for the first time to check whether this is a good place for Jacopo, one of the first things she told Val was that she has no intention to take Jacopo away and that she wouldn’t be angry if she found something amiss (it’s too long ago for to me to remember what exactly she said but they had a brief conversation of that sort) - because she knew that putting additional stress on Jacopo’s parents would just give them reasons to hide stuff from her and not to tell her the truth which in turn would prevent her from helping Jacopo, so instead she wanted to give them the liberty to be honest without consequences and if she found something wrong, she could give them actual advice.
Or that’s why she never told Jacopo something along the lines: “stop cutting!” or “you shouldn’t have run from home!” - or for example when Jacopo told her that he considers stealing to show Jlo that stealing is bad, she doesn’t say “you shouldn’t do that” or “stealing is bad” or “that’s a dumb idea” or even “Wow you would be a thief and I hate thieves”, but just points out that he might get in trouble - not indicating any personal feelings on the matter. Because if she did that and he stole something, he might not tell her. So she just reminds him of the consequences.
When it comes to Bucky, I think one of the biggest differences is the apologising thing. I don’t think Amelia is averse to advising a person to apologise if a person genuinely feels bad and she thinks this might help them feel better, but she’s also someone who focussed her career on dealing with abused children (who tend to blame themselves for things they are not responsible for). And ironically, Bucky is also not responsible for the things he did when he was the Winter Soldier.
Now, I’m not a therapist and I don’t know whether apologising would maybe really help a person like Bucky feel better or not (it might! I’m not saying it wouldn’t!) - but just ignoring how therapy really works in the real world and just looking at characters and how fictional Amelia regards fictional psychology; I don’t think she would make him apologise unless he would insist on doing that. In which case, again, she would be very non-judgy and more matter-of-factly and point out the pros and cons for his mental health (and the mental health of the people he apologises to) and generally the advantages and disadvantages of this approach. And if he decided to do it, she would very frequently go over the results with him in a neutral way.
Obviously, we have to keep in mind that she was developed as a therapist for Jacopo so a big thing for her is that she’s always very: “Hey, this is not your fault.” and “You are not (stupid/slow/untalented)”. And I feel like for her, setting Bucky up to make apologies would be setting him up to internalise that he has something to apologise for - when really, he is the victim. It would be like...if someone grabbed your arm, made you slap someone, gaslit you into believing you hit that person and when you talked to someone about this, they would tell you: “Well, apologise to the person you slapped, and you will feel better!” - Again, I don’t know whether this would help a real-world trauma patient, but in terms of fictional psychologists, I don’t think Amelia would make him do that. Instead, she would focus on sorting through his trauma with him, teaching him coping strategies with stuff like flashbacks, nightmares, and other tendencies. And use that as markers of progress, not some third persons reaction to an apology by the guy who killed someone they loved. (which is another thing: Consent. I will say some more about this later but I think for her, consent is a big deal and involving those victims in Bucky’s therapy would be something she would really want do some check-ups on bc she cannot put her patient’s well-being over that of stranger’s.)
Another thing is the scene where the therapist takes Bucky’s phone, looks through his calls and then tells him it’s “sad” how few people he spoke to. That’s also something Amelia would never do - she has a very “glass is half-full”, “you tried your best!” approach. Also, again, she wouldn’t go through his stuff without consent and if she found out how many people he called, she would either not comment or she would at least find something praise-worthy about it.
In my own pedagogy studies, one very interesting thing my psychology lecturer always stressed is that any positive or negative attention from a person in authority* is automatically reinforcement vs. punishment. You know that feeling when your parents say: “Ooohh look, you left your room, huh? How nice of you to show your face for once!!!” - that is negative attention bc it’s indirectly saying: “Well you are never here you asshole.” (even if it’s not meant that way). And the thing our lecturer really broke down for us about punishment vs. reinforcement is that reinforcement is the more well-directed force – it’s like a laser while punishment is like a leaf-blower:
- If you tell a student who draws a lot in class: “Peter, stop drawing and focus!” (negative attention-> punishment) you can at best have one result: That the thing he won’t do is draw. You have no idea what he’s going to do instead. He might start throwing things for all you know
- But if you actually have positive reinforcement for Peter when he’s not drawing and you find a way to praise him for doing his work without the “ooh you left your room!”-undertone, you are actually reinforcing the positive attention he gets for doing his work and this is the one thing you are encouraging here. Even if you just say: “Hey, you really put a lot of effort into this and I can see your progress, good job” – already positive attention.
*(and yeah, I’m kinda projecting that from a teacher over to a therapist (bc again, not a therapist), but then, it’s also a court-mandated therapist we are talking about here and Bucky can get arrested for not seeing her - which is something that gives her a lot of power over a former POW whose captors infiltrated military and law enforcement)
And yeah, since this is...one of the few things I know, this is something that informs the way Amelia treats people (which is why she brings muffins to an uncomfortable appointment -> sugar makes people happy. So if someone is feeling down, they get a muffin).
Going through someone’s phone and telling them it’s sad that they called so little people is negative attention and therefore punishment. What she’s encouraging here is that the next time, Bucky simply might not bring his phone and lie about his social life (same as he already lies about his nightmares).
Also, again on the subject of consent: There is the question of adding someone else to a session. It was very important to Amelia to talk with Val before this entire thing was set up bc a) she wanted her explicit consent to this session and b) to make sure that Val knew about this and this was not something Jacopo had decided to spring on her to get his way.
Bucky’s therapist just pulls Sam into the session, putting him a very awkward position without his consent.
So yeah, how would I set up such a scene....(cough aka answering your actual question cough)
Now, ignoring for a moment how I would actively write such a scene from an stylistic point of view but just focussing on how I would picture Amelia setting up such a session/therapy in general:
I think the first thing would be that Amelia would be very open about this being a court-mandated therapy and acknowledging that Bucky does not want to be there. Personally, considering her own stance on consent, I’m already in the doubts here whether she would accept a court-mandated patient but then, I think she might if she was really optimistic about being able to help that person and since she’s a trauma specialist (although for children and young adults) she might give it a shot.
On the other hand, just the way she sees her practice, I don’t think she would be able to treat someone who doesn’t want to be treated in a way that they don’t feel comfortable with. She’s really not a “we have to dig into the things you don’t feel comfortable with!”- therapist and very “I will nudge and encourage them to bring forward what they want to.” (on that matter: She also didn’t really expect Val to put her survivor’s guilt all out in the open. But just to say which incidents lead to Jacopo running away from home from her perspective)
So, I can very well see her say to Bucky: “Hey, I know you don’t want to be here, I’m not going to force this on you, so let’s just have a tea and some croissants and I will non-bindingly talk a little about trauma management strategies and different places any person with trauma can turn to in an emergency and btw here is how you can contact me at any time.”  That would mostly be an excuse to say a) yes, court-people, therapy has happened here are records on what we talked about and b) a way of hiding some real attempts to get him to talk. She might even pick fairly neutral topics like “do you know that new bakery downtown” (to gauge whether he goes out and explores or stays at home and shuts off) or planned vacations (does he plan ahead/does he have things he wishes to do or see and does he make efforts to do them?) or something in the hopes that he responds and she can gently nudge that conversation to more personal subjects.
Now, we have to keep in mind that Bucky is kind of…a dangerous person. Even if he’s not violent, he has super-powers, can be brainwashed and has PTSD a mile-wide which can make people irritable and even cause violent flashbacks. I think one priority for her would be to assess that danger potential – both to himself and to others. So, while she tries nudging at those subjects, I think central themes would be:
a)      His emotional state (is he an angry person? How does he talk about his past? How does he talk about other people in general? How does he interact with his (21st century) environment? Also, he grew up 100 years ago, so she might actually try to get a read on how his thoughts and feelings on stuff like race, gender, sexuality – bc a lot of stuff happened since then and even someone with the most progressive ideas and intentions from the 1930s might at worst be out of touch with the 2020s and at best actually…mean well but say or do something that is highly inappropriate in the 21st century and put himself an awkward position in every day life, so I think she would try to get a read on that and give him pointers. (especially since she herself is a woman of colour with a phd working in the medical field (something that wasn’t a thing when he grew up) and treating a white man who got iced in the 1940s and was kept by actual Nazis for 70 years is probably something she would have some expectations and concerns about. I think generally, she would just want to observe how he interacts with her, considering that this is an uncomfortable situation for him and if she wants to know whether the Winter Soldier is dangerous – might just see how this legendary mystery killer reacts to being put in the room with a court-mandated personality-prodder and being served pastries. Now, we might be reading this from a position where we know Bucky and know he’s mostly a very decent guy – but Amelia doesn’t know that going in and while I picture her as a very encouraging and positive person, I also think as a professional, she would try to prepare herself for some fucked-up shit.)
b)      His living situation (the thing where he sleeps on the floor is actually something a lot of former POWs and people who were imprisoned do so I imagine this is exactly one of the things she would be on the look-out for: Does he have a place to stay? Does he have food? Does he have someone who checks up on him? Does he take care of himself? – and depending on that outcome, she might encourage the efforts he already makes and offer help and give tips, mostly neutral ones at first like easy recipes that don’t require a lot of effort? Or if it’s really going badly, I think she would actually offer him to check up on him, much in the same way that she checked up on Jacopo’s  home, as: “hey, this won’t have negative consequences for you, you don’t even have to let me in, I just want to see you alive once a week and maybe drop off some leftovers from my kitchen.” Now, this is something I know therapists should not be doing bc it blurs the line between private and professional life, but I think it’s definitely something Amelia is very accommodating about (I mean, she cAnoNicalLy lets her patients call her any time of the day if they have a problem and if Jacopo had called her that he was running from home, she would probably even have let him stay at her place until she had figured something out. I think she’s a person who really puts her patients first, even at the expense of her privacy…and well-being)
c)      His danger potential (when he talks to her, does he mention feeling aggression?  Does he disassociate? Does he have flashbacks and what are they about and when does he have them? Does he slip into that brainwashed personality?)
I think gauging those things mixed with providing help to acute difficulties Bucky shares with her would be her first priorities.
Now this can go two ways: Either he completely refuses to participate. In which case I imagine she would accurately and dutifully record that and either the therapy gets extended and she keeps going the way she does until he changes – or the court says: Well, we tried, therapy over, good luck Bucky – in which case she would probably give him her number and ways to contact her, maybe a self-help book and tell him her door is always open. Or if he does participate, I think she would slowly shift from gauging problems and providing direct solutions to immediate problems (“You don’t have the mental energy to cook? – Here are some quick recipes and these are my favourite pizza places in the area”) to long-term strategies and even medication plans, however they might look like for Bucky.
I think she would encourage him to develop a healthy social life same as his canon therapist and encourage him to seek out contacts but again, she definitely wouldn’t call it “sad” that the brainwashed ex-POW born in the 1910s has difficulties finding people to relate to but try to encourage the relationships she has (she would definitely give some positive feedback about Sam trying to reach out to Bucky, as he apparently did because a) he’s an Avenger and knows some of that superhero shit Bucky is dealing with and b) he also has experience supporting people dealing with trauma and c) he knew Steve, one of the biggest anchors in Bucky’s life.)
I also, think she would provide some medical help for the nightmares and teach some strategies for dealing with those.
And yeah, a lot of those factors depend on their effectiveness and I think it would be somewhat trial and error because Bucky’s situation is…pretty unique and not her field of speciality, but just in short, I think one of the central themes with Amelia as his therapist would be that she would try to get him to want to participate and a transition from a) getting a read on his danger potential and b) offering immediate help to immediate problems to offering long-term strategies and perspectives to deal with shit.

This short fic is based on the amazing Mamabear Au by @elisaphoenix13. Go check her out on here and AO3. She is a true master story teller!
Heroes don't always wear capes
Summary: For the first time, Peter can save someone's life without Spiderman.
Before Peter could step off the elevator,  Stephen was there with a worried expression on his face. FRIDAY had alerted him that Peter had seemed a bit distraught upon his arrival to the tower.
"What's wrong cub?" Stephen asked as the teen shrugged his backpack off of his shoulders.
Brown eyes met the sorcerer's blue ones as he could see Peter trying to form the question in his head. Peter's face dropped as the question formed. The teen fidgeted a bit with the hem of his shirt before he looked up at the doctor.
"How much do you know about the signs of depression?" Peter asked in a soft voice.
Stephen's eyes went wide as motherly panic began to fill him.
Was Peter depressed? And if he was,  by the Vishanti, why hadn't he seen it sooner? The sorcerer moves beside him, placing a hand on the teen's back as he guides him over to the couch. Once they are both settled, Stephen shifts his posture so he is fully focused on Peter. The teen however still kept his gaze low, as if he were still deep in thought.
"Peter, are you…" Stephen began to ask.
Beforehe could finish, it was if the metaphorical dam that was holding back Peter's thoughts burst.
"There's this girl at my school. We have Chemistry and Spanish together and she used to be on the Decathlon team too." Peter explained. "She's really smart and really nice to everybody, but then she quit the Decathlon team and I noticed that she wasn't as happy anymore. She used to try to answer every question in class but now she just sits in the back and looks so lost. She sits by herself at lunch and if someone sits at the table she's at she just leaves. I'm worried about her, mom. I just wanted to know the signs of depression so I could see if she is or if I'm just overanalyzing everything."
Peter finally took a breath after his word vomit explanation. Stephen let out a sigh of relief, the overwhelming dread that one of his cubs was hurting washed away. Peter was just curious to help another student.  He really was the best kid.
"While I may not be a psychologist, I was taught the basics to diagnose such mental disorders in patients to transfer them to the proper wing." Stephen stated. "And from what you've described, I do conclude that this girl is exhibiting signs of depression."
Peter's expression fell to one of deep concern.
"How can I help her?" The teen quickly asked.
"Have you told your school's counselor?" The doctor asked in return.
Peter shook his head no. "I wanted to be sure first."
"I would start there,  maybe try and talk to her as well. She could just feel like she has no one to go to." The doctor suggested.
Peter nodded in agreement before reaching out and hugging the sorcerer. Stephen smiled at the embrace, carding his shaky hand through the teen's unruly curls.
"Thank you mom." Peter's voice was muffled with his face being buried in Stephen's collarbone.
"Your welcome cub."
***
The next day was supposed to be like every other day. Everything had been just like a normal day, but Peter couldn't help but feel like something was off. His spider sense wasn't going off, which only confused him more. The teen was so lost in his thoughts that he almost ran into a street lamp.
Almost.
Harley grabbed Peter by the back of his shirt, pulling out of the way of the potential collision.
"Are you going for a record of how many times you can run into a pole?" Harley teased Peter.
"What? No!" Peter retorted, turning his attention to straight ahead. "I just can't shake the feeling that something is wr…"
The hairs on the back of Peter's neck stood up as they were about to their school. There was danger at the school. Harley was already around the corner before Peter rounded it. There was a large crowd gathered at the entrance to the school and several students had their phones out recording. Peter soon found Harley amongst the crowd.
"What's going on?" Peter asked.
"You need to suit up Peter." Harley muttered to the teen, as he pointed up.
Peter followed where the older teen's finger pointed, his brown eyes widening in shock.  There was a person sitting on the edge of the roof but not just any person. It was the girl he had told Stephen about. The teen was formulating a plan as some teachers came out, one with a megaphone to talk to the girl.
Peter looked at Harley before the two silently nodded to one another and the younger teen slipped away.
Peter hurried around to the back of the building to an area he was sure there were no cameras. The teen took a deep breath before scaling the wall with his spider grip. Moments later, he climbed the side and was standing on the roof, his web shooters hidden but ready… just in case. He took slow steps toward the girl.
"Hey there. I'm Peter." Peter calmly announced.
The girl didn't even turn to face him nor was she startled. Silence hung in the air.
"Can I come sit by you?" Peter asked as stopped his movements.
Silence. His brown eyes glanced down, noticing how her fingers tensed. Maybe if he just kept talking he could get her away from the edge.
"We have Chemistry and Spanish together. That test last tuesday was pretty hard in Spanish." Peter just talked.
"Why are you doing this?" Sophie asked, her voice soft but trembling.
The tone of her voice reminded Peter too much of how he was right after May had died. She sounded so broken, so alone. Peter had to help her.
"Because I'm your friend. We may not talk all the time but we had Decathlon together." Peter explained. "You're really great too."
Sophie scoffed. "I don't have friends so just stop… this is…"
Sophie stood up and Peter could hear the crowd gasp below them. She turned to face the teen behind her, her eyes red from crying.
"You feel like there's nothing left don't you?" Peter asked and for the first time, he saw the pleading look in Sophie's eyes. "The world feels really cold and you have this overwhelming feeling of nothingness that just consumes you."
"How…" Sophie croaked out as fresh tears threatened to spill.
"I felt that way when my Aunt May died." The teen explained as he inched a bit closer.
"B...but your so happy even when you're bullied… how did you make it stop?" Sophie cried, her trembling hands running through her hair. "My own mind tells me how worthless I am… how it would be better if I just… disappeared."
"It wouldn't be though. " Peter urged. "When you quit Decathlon we lost our only arts and literature person. You were the reason we won state that one year because we were all so clueless."
A laugh escaped Sophie's lips. So he was getting somewhere with her with these stories. Maybe a few more and he could coax her away from the edge.
"Do you remember that time in Spanish when I fell asleep?" Peter inquired.
"You jolted awake and said some very odd sentence all in Spanish. You were so lost until I tossed that note at you with what was going on." Sophie smiled softly.
"I would have been so lost if you didn't help me." The teen chuckled, reaching a hand out to Sophie. "I want to help you now."
The girl just looked at his hand as tears ran down her cheeks. She reached out her trembling hand to take Peter's. Once her hand was close enough, the teen pulled the girl into a tight hug as his arms wrapped tightly around her. Sophie sobbed quietly as he hugged her, apologies flowing between hiccups. The two teens stayed like that until the paramedics came on the roof. The two men carefully guided Sophie through the school and into the ambulance waiting at the entrance. Peter followed closely behind them just so he could keep an eye on Sophie.
Once outside, Harley came rushing over to him just as he was waving to Sophie.
"Dude! Did you just do what I think you just did?" Harley asked the younger teen.
Peter just nods. "Yeah. I knew how she was feeling and I knew the only way I was saved was by mom and dad talking to me."
"Well, why don't we go out and celebrate my little brother being a hero." The older teen smiled and clapped Peter on the back. "School's been canceled for the rest of the day."
The two teens walk away from the school heading to the small cafe near the school. Harley's phone began to ring and the teen promptly answered it.
"Hey dad."
"Can you tell me why you two aren't at school?" Tony asked. "If you're playing hooky, I will get mama bear."
"There was an incident at school and classes got canceled." The older teen explained, looking at Peter. "If you turn on the news, you'll see Peter being a badass and saving the day."
"FRIDAY didn't alert me to spiderman being on the scene." The billionaire replied, confused as he turned on the news.
"Watch the news dad and you'll see. We'll be home soon dad. Love you." Harley ended the call.
Tony just stared at his phone before he turned the television on. As he took his seat on the couch, Stephen came out of the kitchen with a hot cup of tea and took a seat next to his husband. Both men were both in shock at the headline: "Not All Heroes Wear Capes". The news footage showed clips of Peter talking Sophie down as well as of her parents that were thanking Peter for saving their daughter. The two men just smile at the news story,  thankful that everyone was ok.
"Looks like our kid is two superheroes now." Tony smiled.
"Both equally strong and caring." Stephen included as he sipped his tea.
"Well I think this is cause for celebration! We can all go pick up Diana from school and then all go out for once." The billionaire suggested as he got up from his spot on the couch, scooping Valerie out of her playpen. "What do you think Val?"
Valerie just blinked up at her father before smiling widely. "Mama!"
Stephen stiffles his laugh as his husband playfully rolls his eyes, lips curled into a smile.
"I should have seen that coming." Tony snorted as he held Valerie.
An hour later, Peter and Harley arrived to the family floor, both teens shrugging off their backpacks and slinging them onto the couch. Harley grabbed the remote as Peter walked to the kitchen to grab a soda for the older teen and himself. The whistling teapot alerted the teen that Stephen was also there, the sorcerer smiling as he saw the teen enter the kitchen. A look of knowing passed between the two before the sorcerer pulled the younger teen into a tight hug. Peter had his nose buried into Stephen's collarbone as the sorcerer kissed the top of the teen's head.
"We are so proud of you cub." Stephen muttered into brown curls.
"I just did what I thought you or dad would do." Peter replied.
"We're going out to celebrate your heroics after we all pick up Diana from school. She's going to definitely want to brag that her big brother is a hero." Stephen grinned as he pulled away to make his cup of tea.
Peter grabbed the two sodas he had ventured in for and walks back to the couch, tossing Harley his soda. As Peter flopped next to his brother, the teen's phone vibrated in his pocket. He pulled it out, seeing it was a text message as he opened his phone. The message came from an unknown number but upon reading the message, Peter knew exactly who it was from. The message was two words, the only words of praise he needed for his deed.
"Thank you."

Something New - Chapter Five!
Chapter One Previous Chapter
Ships: Logicality, Prinxity, Remile
Warnings:
Chapter 5: A Children’s Psychologist
———————————————————————
“A children’s psychologist?” Logan stood & talked to Janice in one of the hospital corridors.
“Yeah! He’s starting today! It’s gonna be nice to have a little less to do around here”
Right now there were only a few psychologists working at the hospital & they had a pretty rough time. None of them were specialised in kids psychology either so they had a real hard time with the few kids they were working with.
“Yeah, I can understand that it’s a relief, none of you are very good with kids”
“Hey! I’m okay with kids!”
“Yeah okay, not good” Logan laughed slightly.
“I guess I get what you mean. Anyway, gotta keep going! See you around”
“See ya”
———————
“You sure you’ll be fine?” Remy was leaning against the car & drank an ice coffee & looked towards Emile who was getting his bag from the trunk.
“Yeah! I’ll be just fine! Thanks for dropping me off”
“Anytime, babe! Call me if you want me to pick you up later” he slid into the car but held the door open so he could talk to his boyfriend.
“I will!” Emile leaned down to give his boyfriend a quick kiss on the cheek & then he joyfully walked in the direction of the elevators.
When he came up to his floor he met a joyful Logan.
“You must be Dr. Emile Picani! Pleasure to meet you. I’m Dr. Logan Sanders, chief over the few psychologists & therapists at this place” Logan held out his hand & Emile gladly shook it
“Nice to meet you!”
“Let me show you our ‘kids section’. It’s pretty sad right now.. none of us really know things about kids”
“Oh! Well I brought some things.. heh” Emile glanced down at his pretty big, overfilled bag.
“Great! It really needs some.. upgrades”
Logan leaded the way into a room at the end of a corridor & Emile laughed slightly as they entered.
“Uhm.. yeah! This is extremely boring” Logan laughed.
“Haha, yup! We haven’t done anything with it in years. It’s plain & boring with only a few toys.. I’ve heard that you like to have much decor?” Emile frose for a second.
“Uhm.. you could say that, yes” he laughed nervously.
“That sounds great! I need to get going but you can fix up the place!”
“You got it, dude!” Emile said & gave him thumbs up.
“Ah! Full House reference! I know a guy who would love that” Emile laughed.
“Same, my boyfriend has a friend who’s obsessed with basically every show & movie to have ever existed”
“...hmm” as Logan paused Emile started to regret saying anything about having a boyfriend but Logan interrupted his thoughts “I wonder if we’re talking about the same guy” Emile made a sigh of relief.
“Hah, maybe. Anyway! I’ll see you around!”
“Yup! Could you come to my office when your shift have ended? You remember where it is, right? I belive Daniel showed you around last week?”
“Yes, sir” Emile said as Logan gave him thumbs up & then left.
“Ouf! This will be something” he said & opened his bag to start put up posters & add toys to the room. He was almost done as someone knocked on the door.
“Yes?” He said & a familiar face looked in.
“Well, well! If it isn’t Emile Picani! I thought it had to be you, you got a pretty unique name” Roman said as he entered the room.
“Roman! What are you doing here?”
“My niece is sick.. have to be here for my brother & her”
“Oh! I’m sorry to hear that”
“It’s fine.. she’s getting better..” he smiled sappily & then continued “So! How’s Remy?”
“He’s good! For once he has nowhere to be! He’s taking a year off for me!”
“That’s so nice! Ahh! Hahah! I remember when he tried to flirt with you but you didn’t get it! It was so funny to watch!”
“Hey! Romance isn’t my thing!” Emile started blushed slightly.
“I know, darling, but he was SO, SO OBVIOUS!”
“Agh! Fine! Let me tell you a secret”
“Ohh! Yes! I love secrets!” Roman clapped slightly as he said it.
“Don’t you dare tell anyone tho” Roman nodded “Okay.. so.. the truth is: I thought he only teased me. Like come on! I’m a nerdy psychologist & he’s a singer!”
“Ahhh! Now that makes so much more sense than you just not getting it!” Roman laughed slightly & Emile just blushed. Why did he tell him that?! There was a reason he hadn’t told him during their almost 5 years of friendship.
“So, do you have a reason to be in my office? Or did you come just to chat?”
“Oh! Right! My brother said Val is supposed to start meeting a psychologist tomorrow & since she’s only 5 I’m pretty sure that makes you her psychologist.” Remy nodded slightly & checked a binder for her name.
“Valerie Williams?” He said & looked up at Roman.
“Yup! That’s her! Anyway, he wanted to meet you”
“Oh! Okay, I’ll be there in 5?”
“Sounds great! See you later” Roman said as he left the room.
“See ya” Emile quickly fixed the last things & got going.
———————
Roman came walking back to Patton & as soon as he saw his brother he started to gab. “Roman! What took you so long? Are they nice? Will I hate them? A-“
“Patton! Chill out! He’s a friend of mine, I’m quite sure you’re gonna love him”
“Ah.. okay, that explains why you took so long. You suck at focusing around all your friends but Logan!”
“That is-! Absolutely true.. ANYWAY! He’ll be here any moment, you’re gonna love him!”
“We’ll see about tha-“ he began but stopped drastically when he saw a guy walking towards them. Brown hair with pink ends, glasses, a white shirt, pink tie & brown sweater over everything.
“Hi! You must be Roman’s brother! Dr. Emile Picani, nice to meet you” Emile held out his hand for Patton to shake it.
“Patton Williams” Patton shook his hand & tried not to seem rude. He didn’t want to be rude he was just annoyed at his brother & hadn’t gotten much sleep.
“You wanted to talk to me?”
“Oh yes! So...”
———————————————————————
A/N: Okay but for real! I couldn’t write a fic about psychologists without having Emile in it! I’ve also recently fallen in love with the ship Remile so.. yeah! Haha!

31, 24 and 17 for the book ask?
Thank you! :D
17. Preferred bookshelf organisation scheme
Oh god, I don’t know. I rearrange my bookshelf all the time! Because I can’t decide, should I do it after genre, after the author, after the title, after size? Right now I’ve sorted them after the language of the book and then books that are connected by author or series next to one another.
24. The book that you got into because of the movie/TV series/etc, and the relative merits of each version
Wire in the Blood! I first watched the show and then I bought the… Third book in the series, I think. (In Swedish) and I loved it as much as the show. They are both good in their own way and they are fairly similar. Even though the main female character is replaced later in the series it doesn’t take away from it. The new character is even in the book now. As for the merits, I don’t know. The TV series has Robson Green (the reason I later found Grantchester) Hermione Norris and later Simone Lahbib and they are all so good. The supporting cast is also very good! One minus is that they don’t show much of Paula. Paula is in the books a lot more, Paula is a police officer, she’s also a lesbian who is in a relationship with a doctor. I love her.
31.Bonus question: rec me something!
I’ll rec two different things:
Wire in the Blood series by Val McDermid. So I’ve already talked about it but I’m going to be a bit more detailed here. These books are about a clinical psychologist (Dr. Tony Hill) who helps the police with profiles that will help them catch criminals, mainly serial killers. His friend and colleague DCI Carol Jordan has her hands full trying to balance her commitment to the force and the faith she has in Tony, since many of her senior officers thinks that what Tony does is all nonsense. Despite their success rate. It’s mainly set in Bradfield but there was that one time where they went abroad because Carol was going undercover. Anyway. This series deals with a lot of things. There’s gay people in the force (Paula), there’s love, impotence, recovering from rape, being kidnapped, child abuse, child neglect, abuse/threats over the internet. You name it and it’s in there. And the way it’s written is just. It breaks your heart but at the same time it deals with it in a “good” way, if you know what I mean. So yeah. I recommend that you start with the first book “The Mermaids Singing” if you haven’t seen the show, if you have seen the show then you might be able to read the second or third book first. But why would you want to skip any of the books? There’s 9, the 10th comes out later this year.
Hello Sailor by Eric Idle. Me liking a book that Eric Idle wrote. Who would have thought? He wrote this in the 70s and it’s hilarious! It’s about a group of people, that are all connected. The Prime minister, whose main concern is where his male lover is at all times, a man who wants to do the “impossible” have sex with all the daughters of the cabinet ministers, and an american.. Ahh it escapes me now what he is. But anyway, this book does what Eric does best. Making fun of people’s weird/bigoted views. I can’t explain what it’s about really. You just have to read it.
Ask me questions about books.(Questions)

Rolling the Credits

Leaving the cinema was a blur. Maybe it was a combination of the shock and stress catching up to you that kept you from remembering the details. Bits and pieces- the medical staff, the code shouted over earpieces, bumping around in an armoured car while a JSDF psychologist talked at you and scribbled on a notepad- remain, but the little details tying it all together have been pushed to the back amid the chaos.
Of course, there was also the transportation to a hospital. That much comes back to you as you realize you're waking up in a bed in that same hospital. It's odd, awaking in a setting that's not the trailers. You don't really have much time to privately examine your new settings, though, as it's less than a minute before the lock on the door clicks and three new faces enter the room.
Well, relatively new, anyways. It takes you a minute to recall, but these three definitely were a part of the group of suited young adults- they’d said something about surviving a first game, right?- that greeted you yesterday. The last one to enter closes the door behind him.
Tumblr media
"Oh, you're awake?” A blond haired man speaks up first, stepping to the front. “Good to see y'all are doin' better after all that nasty stuff that went down..." He rubs the back of his head with an apologetic smile before grinning bigger and beaming with optimism. "Well, 'm Iwao Wakahisai, me and my pals are here to help clear some shit up for ya best we can. I’m guessin’ y’all don’t wanna be left in the dark, especially now."
Tumblr media
“They know our names, Wakahisai. The message we sent them, remember?” A woman with short, brown hair scoffs. Though her scowl does age her infinitely, her youthful freckles doting her cheeks betray her maturity.
Tumblr media
“Though you know our tones, you don’t know our faces, probably. I’m Minnie LaFleur.” She sure seems to get to the point.
Tumblr media
The taller of the three steps over behind them, hands moving in a small flurry at Iwao. He looks to everyone else resting and waves. He fishes out a small notebook and flips it towards you all. [Hiromura, Manabu, hope we can clear this all up some ;;] His hand adjusts the scarf around his neck.
Tumblr media
Iwao nods at Manabu, making some hand motions back at him before turning back to face you. "Ya heard 'bout us from Matsumoto-san, like, yesterday, yeah? Dunno if she said why we're here though, lemme cover that to be on the safe side... So, the JS... uh, JSDF, yeah. The JSDF gathered all a' us to try and help y'all. They were like totally dumbstruck with the whole thing, like, mutual killing? What the hell is this shit, I ain't trained for that. So they called in us 'cause we survived, so they thought we'd have good advice and whatever- hope mine helped y'all out, a situation like this really sucks..."
Tumblr media
“They just wanted us cause they thought we’d do whatever they wanted cause we both had a common goal,” Minnie scowled. “They thought because we survived that we’d have a way to make things better, to spread ‘hope’ to you kids. They even tried to make me give a speech to the masses. Guess what, being fake and saying everything is gonna be ok won’t fix anything, you gotta work hard. And as much as I hate to admit it, you kids did alright,”
Tumblr media
Manabu lets out a sigh, signing back to Iwao and ends it with a shrug. He flips through a couple of pages with a frown and signs over to Iwao again with a frown on his face.
Tumblr media
Iwao nods at Manabu, “Ya right- least, they’d probably try, if that lady hadn’t already leaked shit all game, right?” He realizes no one else probably knew what Manabu said, so his response sounded weird- he scratches the back of his head and adds context, “Cause, uh, like, the feds did a real good job of putting a wrap on what happened to us, callin’ it a terrorist attack ‘n stuff. They shipped us out to America to make sure we didn’t say nothin’, even. Though, that one lady, Kooichi, was leaking info in the middle of your ‘game’.” He makes sure to put air quotes around game. “Dunno if that’s a good or bad thing, but basically people know what happened. Speakin’ of her, do any of y’all happen to know what happened to her?”
You blink at the group, confused, before shaking your head and telling them that you don’t know anything about where Eriko went. You know that Yumeno is dead, but the camerawoman’s whereabouts are a mystery.
Tumblr media
Minnie scoffed. “How would ya know, it’s all you’ve done to stay alive,” It was odd, though she wasn’t saying anything harmful, the way she said it dripped with malice. What was up with this lady? “Though nyan cat is dead, we don’t even have a clue where to find tac nayn. Thanks to her, everyone across the globe knows who you kids are, for better for worse. It probably won’t fix much, but I bet ya’ll’ll sleep better at night knowing she’s put down,”
Tumblr media
Manabu raises an eyebrow at Minnie, motioning to Iwao for a moment before almost cutting himself off. He lets out a frustrated sigh, signing once more.
Tumblr media
He glances over the group and signs, finishing his thought with by crossing his arms.
Tumblr media
Iwao nods, signing back at Manabu. He looks back at you, “Well, regardless of what happens with Kooichi, that stuff she sent out is, like, out there anyway. So it’ll be best for y’all to stay here and not get hounded by people, yeah? It was mega weird for me to go back to a normal life after our stupid game thing, so I imagine it might be similar for some of ya. You can hang out here, chill, cool down, recoup, all that good stuff...”
You decide to speak up again. Your voice is still cracking- you’re tired, emotionally demolished, and some water would do you a world of good- but you can’t keep staying quiet. You ask them the biggest question you have: ‘What now? What happens next?’.
Tumblr media
“You really think we have any fuckin’ clue? Quick answer, we don’t. You kids gotta figure this stuff out for yourselves. Don’t ask us the questions, ask yourselves. Are ya gonna go home, lay low, go back to Hope’s Peak? Well, whatever ya do, don’t attract any more attention to yourselves, we have enough of a hard time watching our asses to watch your’s anymore,”
And... Well, they’re right. Nobody seems to know what you’re supposed to do now. Even with all the new information, you don’t know what’s going to happen next or what your future is going to hold. Starting a new life in Hope’s Peak was supposed to be the start of a bright future, and now that it’s been interrupted by this tragedy, you’re going to have to find yourself a brand new path to follow.
As the banter among the three fades into background noise, you turn your head in the direction of the window. It’s so bright outside... You can see a whole city out there. There are more people visible on the sidewalks below than you’ve seen in ages. They must know of you now if the story you’re being presented with is true. Who’s going to recognize you from now on? What will become of your private life? Question after question burns into your mind.
But then the sunshine hits your window, and there’s a warmth on your face from the rays that quiets your thoughts. You are warm, comfortable, and safe- three feelings you thought you might never experience again. But despite all odds, here you are. Even after everything, you are alive.
That in itself is a victory worth celebrating.

Chapter 7: Sir Sing A Lot.
———————————————————————
When Virgil got home he threw his backpack on the couch & then went out in the kitchen.
“Moe!” He called as he filled his cat’s bowl with food & a couple of seconds later the white Norwegian Forest Cat came running into the kitchen. He gave her a quick pet before returning into the living room, he put down his bag on the floor & layed down on the couch. He felt like he was forgetting something.. Roman.. right.
———————
Roman had decided to go to the park & sat on a bench when he suddenly got a text from an unknown number ‘Hi, Sir Sing A Lot. It’s Virgil’ Roman smiled when he saw the use of his old nickname Virgil used to call him.
“Oh, hello there, chemically imbalanced romance”
“(¬_¬)( ^∀^)”
“So, how are ya?”
“Meh, fine. Hbu?” Roman was tempted to say something flirty like ‘better now that I’m talking to you’ but he decided that would be way to straight forward.
“I’m pretty good actually, still outside tho”
“What are you still doing out?! It’s almost midnight!”
“It’s too much going on in my head, need air”
“Hmm.. guess that’s fair enough”
———————
Roman woke up around 10 the next morning to a bunch of missed calls, worried & angry messages from Patton such as ‘where are you?’, ‘are you okay?’, ‘are you dead?!’, ‘ROMAN! IF YOU’RE NOT DEAD, ANSWER MY GOD DAMN TEXTS!’ & a couple of seconds after he opened his phone Patton called again & stared to scream at him.
“ROMAN! Thank god! I thought you were dead! Now that I know you’re not tho; WHAT THE HELL?! How late were you out last night?! When did you fall asleep?”
“I’m sorry, Pat” he was barely awake & his voice was tired “I couldn’t sleep so I went out on a walk around 11 & didn’t get home until 2”
“Roman! I swear to g-“
“I also may have stayed up until 3 & texted with Virgil” Roman could almost hear Patton freeze & then shake himself.
“Oh my freaking god! Roman, get your stupid ass to the hospital this instant!”
“Damn! You gotta be really mad” Roman said as he dragged himself out of bed.
“I am!” Patton said & hung up the phone.
Patton had walked to the hospital & had stopped by at Rogers’ Beans on his way where he had met an almost sleeping Virgil, when he was there he had assumed it was because he worked night yesterday but now he knew it was because he & Roman had texted all night. It was like being back to when Roman was in high school!
Patton returned into his daughters room & made a deep sigh “Sorry about that, kiddo. Roman overslept” Valerie was sitting on the side of her bed & giggled slightly.
“Roman? Overslept? Wow, I never thought that would happen” Valerie turned her attention to behind her father & Patton swirled around. In the doorway Logan stood, leaning against the frame.
“Who are you?” Valerie said & tilted her head slightly & took a proper look at Logan & Patton turned back around to face his daughter.
“Oh! That’s Logan, he works here” Valerie looked at hes dad, over to Logan & then back at her dad.
“Why haven’t I met him?” Patton turned his head slightly to look at Logan as to invite him to answer.
“I’m a psychologist so I’m not a typical doctor” Logan tried to be as simple as possible & not jabble on about everything to it. Patton smiled approvingly & then turned his gaze back to his daughter who nodded slightly. Patton was just gonna say something as Emile entered the room.
“Logan” he said, nodding in his direction, him nodding back, before turning his gaze towards Patton “Hello, Patton!” He smiled at Patton before turning his gaze towards Valerie “& you must be Valerie!” Valerie nodded slightly & before she had even asked he introduced himself “I’m Emile & I’m gonna be your therapist” he said and gave her a sunny smile.
She had learned that she often could tell if she would like someone or not based on their smile. She liked Emile’s smile & decided to return it which immediately made Patton relax.
Logan smirked a little as he noticed Patton’s whole self relax slightly. Patton must have seen how he glanced over at him because a bright pink colour spread over his cheeks & he quickly looked down.
“Well then! Good luck with your first actual day of work, Emile” Logan smilingly nodded towards Emile & casually pushed himself from the doorframe. Emile nodded back at him. “See you later, Patton” he said & made a small gesture with his hand which Patton happily returned. He had just turned around & was about to leave as he saw Roman down the hallway & quickly peaked into the room again “Princey’s here by the way, try not to kill him” he looked at Patton who rolled his eyes & chuckled slightly.
“Relax, Lo, I won’t. See ya” Logan nodded at him again & then left for real & a couple of seconds later Roman entered the room & got met with a death glare from Patton. He ignored it as much as he could & went over to give his niece a hug.
“Hello, Val. Sorry I’m late” Valerie hugged her uncle & giggled.
“It’s fine! Even tho you never oversleep” she said as to question him & Roman chuckled.
“Yeah, Ro. What happened?” Emile’s voice took Roman by surprise even tho he had acknowledged his presence in the room.
“Uhm.. well.. I stayed up all night, texting a friend” the tips of his ears caught a bright pink shade & Emile giggled, it was long ago he had seen Roman like that & it made him happy to see it.
“Anyway! Roman, you need to leave. Valerie, do you want your dad to stay in here or leave until we’re done” Roman rolled his eyes, gave his niece another hug & then left. Valerie said that she wanted Patton to stay so Roman decided to go to Virgil’s coffe shop & get some tea.
He had about an hour, the coffe shop was a five minutes walk away for him so he skipped the car & walked there.
———————
Virgil had finally woken up properly after one of his employees had ordered him to go rest & took his shift & was now very awake when Roman & Remy entered the cafe.
“Hello there, Virge” Remy said, Virgil nedded at him in response.
“Good morning, creepy cookie” Remy may have been first to greet him but Roman’s greeting made him feel heat raise in his neck & made a silent prayer that it wouldn’t slide onto his cheeks, a prayer that clearly failed because a teasing smile appeared on Roman’s face a second later.
“Hey, Princey” he pulled himself together & quickly finished what he was doing & walked over to the counter “you’re lucky. You’re just in between the rushes. So, what can I do for you today?”
“It’s not luck, it’s planning!” Remy assured before placing his coffee order.
“I’ll take some iced cherry tea” It was quite hot outside so a regular tea would not be very pleasing. Remy payed for them both & as his drink was done he went to sit in a corner of the cafe as Roman waited for his drink.
“I heard you overslept?” Virgil said teasingly & Roman chuckled & the tips of his ears turned slightly pink.
“Yeah, well, old habits die hard” & Virgil laughed.
“But Patton said you never oversleep. Even tho he did mention that you always overslept during high school, hmm” Virgil teasingly glansed at Roman & a grin spread over his face when he saw the actors, slightly red tinted face.
“Well.. I never said what the habit was” he said & returned the teasing grin.
“Heh, fair enough. Here’s your tea” Virgil said & put down an ice tea on the counter.
“Thanks, see ya later” Roman said & made a gesture with his hand.
“See ya”
