Erica's Basic Info
Tumblr media
Name: Erica Paige Mills
Erica's faceclaims for the 90s and now were a lot easier for me to figure out than ones for the 60s and 80s, for obvious reasons, but I do have them, all the same. For the 60s, we have the lovely Pam Grier (the picture is from her 1975 movie Friday Foster) and, while she didn't act in anything big in the 60s, she would have been in the right age range. For the 80s, we have Lark Voorhies (Saved by the Bell). My immediate pick for the 90s was Trina McGee (Boy Meets World) as her overall style and acting, especially in BMW felt very much like Erica. Finally, for present day, we have Andrea Chaparro (Rebelde) - I saw her picture on Pinterest and it just instantly clicked.
Nicknames: Big Dip-Shit (her friends’ term of endearment connected to the freckles on her arm), Frog (she was the highest jumper on the volleyball team) and Dumbass (mostly by Jade, but, like with Jade, their friends call her that as well)
Age: 18
Date of Birth: August 10
Zodiac: Leo
Birthstone: Peridot
Nationality: American and Puerto-Rican
Sexuality: Lesbian
Birthplace: West Side, Manchester, NH
Current Residence: Winnisquam, Tilton, NH
Occupation: Leader of the robotics club, setter of the high school volleyball team, songwriter and guitarist for Blissful Chaos, babysitter of her younger siblings, and cashier at Spencer’s Gifts
Talents/Skills: Gives pretty awesome haircuts, video editing, can memorize practically anything just by seeing it once, and somehow is able to get people to trust them with their secrets, even if they only just met - something she considers both a gift and a curse.
Birth order: Oldest
Siblings: Cora Jane (15) and Elijah Michael (12)
Parents: Michael Douglas Cooper and Sofia Adriana Garcia
Signature:
Tumblr media
Height: 5’6”
Race: African-American
Eye Color: Brown
Hair Color: Naturally black, but dyed blue
Glasses or contact lenses: She doesn’t need them, but thinks she’d look cool with glasses. She will wear some pretty crazy-looking contacts for fun events, though
Distinguishing features: Dragon tattoo between her shoulder blades, dagger with vines tattoo on her right arm, and a set of seven freckles on her left bicep that Jade connects with Sharpies to look like the Big Dipper
Mannerisms: Clacking her nails together to the tune of songs, humming theme songs to her favorite shows, and drawing doodles while talking on the phone.
Health: She is allergic to pineapple and is lactose intolerant, but still eats pineapples on pizza and mac-and-cheese like her life depends on it. (Yes, her old one was a typo lol)
Hobbies: Chugging energy drinks, drawing, buying too many vinyls from the record shop, thrifting, and volleyball
Greatest flaw (in their opinion): How expressive she is. She doesn’t always notice it right off the bat, but her expressions give away her thoughts on everything. Even if she’s not entirely vocal on her opinions, you can practically tell what she’s thinking as her face displays it all in high definition. Many times, her friends will have to either elbow her or remind her to “watch her face” to get her to fix it.
Best quality (in their opinion): Her quick thinking. As a setter on the volleyball team, she has to be quick on her feet, have a good grasp of the situation they find themselves in, and be ready to make calls on the fly; Erica thrives in that sort of environment. Whether it’s for volleyball, work, songwriting, or a DND campaign, she loves coming up with plans contributing ideas as it makes her feel a lot smarter than she feels she is.
Biggest fear: Failure of any kind. Oftentimes, she feels as though she has the weight of the world on her shoulders despite that being far from the truth. As the oldest of her siblings, she strives to be the best sister and role model she can for them. As the setter on her team, she allows losses to hit her harder than they do anyone else. As the manager at Spencer’s, she deals with the brunt of every Karen encounter and fights through days of faulty machinery while making sure her coworkers don’t feel guilty for anything going wrong. As the band’s songwriter and guitarist, she feels as though the fault would be hers if the band were to fail in any way or if a song wasn’t a hit. Although she goes through everything with a smile and shrugs off failure like it’s no big deal, on the inside, she’s screaming.
Hogwarts House: Gryffindor
Favorite ice cream: Pistachio
Favorite color: Green
Favorite number: 6, how many months it took for her and Jade to get together
Favorite songs: Memories by Conan Gray, Perfume by Lovejoy, and Boyfriend by Dove Cameron
A place they want to visit: Amsterdam, Netherlands

Background Information
Sophia "Sophie" Grace Turner is the twin sister of Timmy Turner, she was born 5 minutes after Timmy, making her the younger twin. Sophie may seem to be girly on the outside, but she's actually a tomboy on the inside, she likes girl stuff, but she also likes boy stuff like playing videos games, reading comics books, etc;
Timmy and Sophie have a close bond ever since they were born, they're inseparable so they're rarely seen apart. Due of being twins, one knows how the other is feeling, and what the other twin is thinking, and Sophie and Timmy always have each other's back. Because of this, Timmy and Sophie are known as the "Turner Twins".
Unfortunately, they feel their parents are playing favoritism because they were actually expecting a daughter than twins, so when Sophie was born after Timmy, they always favorite her over her brother, even though they love both twins equally, but Timmy doesn't resent it since Sophie always assured him she doesn't like how their parents favors her over him when they're supposed to love them equally.
Unlike her brother who gets F's and bad grades, Sophie has good grades in school, getting straight A+, so she's very smart. She isn't afraid to get dirty as she loves to play sports. But she is annoyed with Tristan Tang, one of the most popular and handsome boy in school, her former crush and the twin brother of Trixie Tang, and Remy Buxaplenty because they both have a huge crush on her and she tries to avoid them.
She is also the only character who isn't afraid of Vicky as she stands up for herself and her twin brother, which annoys Vicky because Sophie isn't afraid of her. She is also the only girl who Chester McBadbat doesn't mind hanging out with since they're best friends and Chester, alongside A.J, knew Sophie isn't like most girls.
Sophie has a habit of twitching whenever someone, mostly Timmy, says, "What could possibly go wrong?", meaning something bad is going to happen, so it's a warning system for Sophie and those around her. Sophie also has a beautiful singing voice and hopes when she grows up, she'll become a famous singer, just like her idol and favorite singer, Chip Skylark.
Sophie has the perfect combination of beauty and brains, so she's kinda like Belle from Beauty and the Beast, she's a bookworm and she focuses on books or playing sports but remains clueless because almost every boy in school wants to date her since she's one of the prettiest girls in school who can rival against Trixie Tang's. Unlike Timmy, Sophie doesn't care about getting popular, she enjoys being herself, so even though she's not popular of being born in a rich and wealthy family, she is unknowingly popular for her natural beauty.
Because of her mother's terrible cooking, Sophie teaches herself or watching TV shows or reading cookbooks of how to cook delicious food for herself, her twin brother and their father. Despite of being a 10-year-old girl, she is actually very strong, no doubt inherited it from her mother, she can also be intimidating when someone pushes her buttons and makes her angry, like how she punches Francis to leave her brother alone, making him afraid of her, no doubt she got it from Vicky after some of her influence rubbed off on her.
Trivia
• Sophie's birthday is March 21, which makes her an Aries (planet Mars) in the horoscope.
• Sophie's favorite colors are blue, purple and pink.
• Sophie is right-handed since her brother is left-handed.
• Sophie's most common wish has been to make "everything back to normal", considering the dire consequences of many of her brother's previous granted wishes before that. Although she does say it with Timmy by saying, "We wish everything was back to normal".
• Unlike her brother, she doesn't have buck teeth since her grandfather, Pappy, was able to remove the pacifier from her, but forgot to do the same for Timmy due to him forgetting where he is and wonder where he was, causing Timmy to develop buck teeth by sucking on a pacifier too much. So even though they're identical twins, the only way to tell them apart was by their teeth and the clothes they wear.
• Since Timmy and Sophie are twins, they have Cosmo and Wanda as their godparents since only married fairies are assigned to twins while fairies that are single are assigned to the only child.
• Sophie has been to therapy with Timmy. The twins have been going to therapy possibly since they were five because there is a picture of them (and Gary, from their imagination) in therapy.
• Like Timmy, Sophie can also be able to mimic both Wanda and Cosmo's voices too.
• Even though Sophie is the younger twin, she is more responsible than Timmy, who, despite being the older twin, is irresponsible.

Hey guys, welcome to part 13! I hope that it measures up to the previous chapters, I hope you enjoy reading it! :)
Warnings- Blood, Gore, General walking dead depictions, slow burn, swearing, physical harm, insinuated abuse, Nightmares, Angst.
Tumblr media
The second Glenn mentioned Randall’s group the room had been tense.
I could feel the rage emitting from Daryl as he seethed silently.
Shane stood angrily looking out of the window, his back moving with each harsh breath he took.
Rick sat on the end of the bed, looking up to where Glenn stood by the door, looking at the ground.
“It’s not Glenn’s fault.” I spoke softly, wincing as Hershel continued inspecting my leg.
“How the hell ain’t it?” Daryl argued, stepping forward. “He took you with him!” He continued, throwing his hand in the air. “He didn’t know I was in the car!” I argued.
“What?”
“I didn’t want him to go alone, I had a feeling that something wasn’t right and I thought it’d be better if he had back up!” “You did what?” Shane snapped his head around, striding to the bed, causing Rick to stand between us both.
“You snuck off?!” Shane called.
“Shane, you need to calm down.” Rick spoke, pushing him back softly.
“Rick. Get him out of here.” Hershel spoke.
“Get me out of here?” Shane scoffed. “She’s my sister man.” He shook his head, crossing his arms.  “Shane. Leave.” Rick spoke, defending hershel.
My brother scoffed, shaking his head in disbelief, angrily moving to the door, ripping it open and slamming it shut.
I flinched as the wooden door harshly collided with the frame.
“I can’t believe you were stupid enough to go.” Daryl muttered.  “Daryl-“ “Nah, I’m done talking.” He shook his head, opening the door and leaving the room.
I sighed as the door closed, looking over to Rick who was looking at Glenn.
“We need to talk about what happened out there. I need to hear it from you.” Rick nodded to Glenn.
Rick looked over to me and smiled softly.
“I’ll come talk to you later, just rest up, let Hershel take care of you.”
I nodded my head, watching as the two men walked out.
Patricia continued to gently wipe the spot from my face, neck and arms.
“Let’s get you in the shower honey.” Patricia smiled softly, helping me stand.
She led me to the bathroom, turning on the faucet, making the temperature mildly warm.
“I’ll bring up a change of clothes for you, then we will have Hershel fix you up.” She spoke gently, as she shut the door behind her. I scrubbed the soot and the dirt from my body, making quick work of my hair.
The water ran dark red as i washed the mans blood from it, flakes of ash melting into the water.
I shut off the faucet, stepping out and wrapping myself in a towel.
A soft knock echoed through the room.
“Come in.” I spoke, watching as the door slightly opened.
Patricia smiled gently as she handed me some clothes, a pair of grey cotton shorts along with some underwear and a navy blue shirt. “They’re from Maggie.” She looked down.
“Thank you.” I smiled softly as she left.
Pulling on the clothes I walked out of the bathroom, towel in my hand.
“Let me throw this on the line.” Patricia quickly took the towel and left the room.
Hershel looked up and cleared his throat, motioning for me to sit down.
“You have second degree burns on your leg.” He paused, watching intently as I glanced down at my leg.
I didn’t realise the extent of the burn.
The skin was brightly red, blisters scattered around the slightly charred areas.
I watched as Hershel applied topical antibiotic ointment.
“Don’t touch it unless you are applying more of this to it.” He raised the tube. “When you goto bed make sure you bandage it, try to wear loose pants, shorts if possible.” “And the blist-“ “Don’t pop them.” He cut me off.
He looked up to my arm, moving to look behind the gauze.
“What happened to your arm?”  “We were shot at. It’s just a flesh wound.” I nodded softly. “Did Glenn patch you up?”  “Yeah, when we got back to the car.” “He did a decent job.” He chuckled softly as he took a damp cloth, wiping over my arm.
I hissed as the fabric caught on the tender skin.
Hershel took away the cloth and grabbed another gauze, taping it to my arm.
“I think it’s for the best that you stay on the property from now on.” Hershel spoke, packing up the medical supplies he had out, packing up and leaving.
I sighed and stepped out of the room after Hershel,  my eyes instantly meeting Maggie’s.
She put her head down, running up the stairs, avoiding me, which felt more painful than the flesh wound I was sporting.
I moved from the house and made my way to my tent, hoping to run into Daryl.

Day Three
The night was long, Daryl hadn’t come to our tent.
I was plagued by nightmares.
The moment I would close my eyes, visions from the day before would haunt me as I chased sleep.
Pictures of a dirty grin, the feeling of his tongue against the skin of my cheek burned into my brain would surface.
My brain producing a mortifying string of events that could’ve occurred if it weren’t for Glenn.
Since the fourth nightmare, I’d been huddled in the corner of the bed, knees cradled to my chest as I blankly stare at the blanket covering my feet in front of me.
The tent began to softly glow, warmth spreading through the fabric as the sun rose. Birds in the distance chirping as though it were a Disney movie.
My hand moved to my eyes, rubbing them softly before resuming to rest atop my knees, holding my chin.
I don’t know how long I have been positioned in the bed, or how long it has been since the sun rose, but judging by the hushed whispers coming towards the tent it didn’t take me long to realise that it’d been long enough for me to miss breakfast.
“Dale, im sure she is fine.” Andrea stated, her shadow moving closer to the tent.
“If im wrong, great. We will leave her be.” Dale responded. “Just go in and check.” “Why don’t you?” The asked. “Right.”
The door opened as Andrea stepped in.
I glanced over to the blonde, moving my eyes back to their position on the blanket.
“Hey, how are you feeling?” Andrea asked quietly, kneeling down, gently placing a hand on my knee.
I looked over to Andrea, who intently stared at me, waiting for me to respond.
“(Y/n)?” She asked again.
“Im okay.” I whispered.
“You didn’t come to breakfast.” She stated, lightly shaking my knee.
“I didn’t realise the time. Sorry.” I whispered. “Lets get you up.” She smiled.
Andrea helped me stand. “I just need to take this off.” I motioned to my leg.
She nodded, letting me take the bandage off of my leg, slipping on my shoes, following her from my tent.
As soon as I made it out of my tent, I looked over to Dale who looked shocked.
“Are you okay?” He asked. “Yeah, im fine, just tired.” “I can see that.” He stated, looking at me worriedly.
“Come on, let’s get you some breakfast.” Andrea took my wrist in her hand, leading me toward the camp.
As we made it to the group, everyone stopped what they were doing, looking over to see us walk towards them.
Daryl was sitting with his back facing me, Rick and Lori, by each others side as Carl sat at Loris feet, staring at my leg.
Shane made his way over to us, shoving his arm in front of my face, handing me a small bowl of scrambled eggs.
“Sit. Eat.” He nodded to the camping chair he had been using.
I nodded silently and picked at the eggs, feeling eyes burning into me, looking up to see Shane, Rick and Lori watching me.
They all looked back to each other and nodded, Rick standing and slowly walking over as if I were an animal.
I continued to eat the eggs as I waited for Rick.
“(Y/n), can we talk for a minute?”
“Uh, yeah.” I nodded, standing and following him away from the group. “We’ve been talking.” “Who is we?” I asked crossing my arms, looking down at my shoes. “We have as a group.” “Yes?” I asked, playing with a rock that was under my shoe. “We- we’ve come up with the decision to have someone stay with you for a little bit.”
I stopped playing with the rock, taking a moment before looking up to see Rick.
“What do you mean ‘have someone stay with me’?” I asked, as he shifted uncomfortably.
He looked around for a moment, bringing his arm up to scratch the back of his neck.
“We thought that for the time being, after yesterday that we would-“ “Give me a damn babysitter?” I snapped. “No-“ “I see, your wife takes a car out on a rescue mission to find you, crashes it and is let off the hook!” “(Y/n)-“ “But when I sneak into a car to go on a run with someone else to watch their back, another group was there and im in need of a babysitter?” I scoffed.
“This shit is a double standard.” I exclaimed, gesturing with my hands towards where Lori was sitting, watching the conversation.
More eyes had began watching Rick and I at this point.
“Its not like that at all-“ “This is fucking ridiculous.” I shook my head.
Rick gently reached out to place a hand on my arm.
When his skin contacted with my own I pulled back. “Dont fucking touch me.” I turned away, moving to leave.
I stopped momentarily, turning to face him again.
“Im going to my tent, you know, just so you can tell my babysitter where to find me.” I waved my hand in the air, making my way to the tent.
By the time I reached my tent, my anger had turned into annoyance, and I just wanted to throw things at this point.
I sat on one of the fallen stones, putting my head in my hands, trying to calm down my breathing.
I heard footsteps behind me, and I quickly stood, turning to see Dale.
My forced smile dropped, one reason being that it wasn’t Daryl, the other reason being that Dale was appointed my babysitter, knowing that I couldn’t take anything out on him.
“You don’t need to jump for joy, but I didn’t think my company was that bad.” Dale softly joked, testing the water.
“I’m sorry Dale, I’m sorry that you have to do this.” “Do what?” He turned his head to the side.
“Babysit me.” “I don’t know what Rick told you, but he did tell me that I was to make sure you were safe.” “You don’t need to make me feel better Dale.” “That isn’t what im trying to do.” He paused.
I looked to the ground.
“Lets go for a walk?” He asked.
“Am I allowed to?” I looked up. “If im your, what did you call it?” “Babysitter.” “Right, if im your babysitter, I’m sure, we can go for a walk.” He joked.
I laughed softly with the older man as he nodded his head for me to follow him.
Dale and I had walked aimlessly around the farm for a few hours in silence.
“Why did you do it?” Dale broke the silence.
“Why’d I do what?” “Sneak off.” “Oh, I-uh, I knew that Glenn didn’t want anyone to go with him.” I began, looking at Dale.
“And I knew that if I’d have asked anyone else, they would’ve told me no.” “Why do you think that is?”
“Because they all think I can’t handle myself out there.” Dale raised his brow as I said it. “And I can, I know I can hold my own.” “Its not that we don’t think you can handle your own.” He sighed, stopping shaking his head slightly, hands raised as his bucket hat slightly falling a little more over his forehead.
“There is another group out there, we know what you’re capable of, it’s them that we don’t know of.” “We didn’t know that they were going to be there.” “I know that, we all do.” He tried to reason.
“It was impossible for anyone to know, so why am I being punished?” “You aren’t being punished.”
“You need to see that it could’ve been much worse than some burns on your legs.” “I know that I’m lucky that I only got burned, that I didn’t die out there. But I couldn’t have just let Glenn go alone.” Dale nodded, but kept quiet despite what was being said in his mind.
I sighed, closing my eyes briefly before leaning against a tree.
“Hey, are you alright?” “Yeah, im fine, sorry.” I paused. “I just uh, I need a minute.” I continued.
“Come here.” He stated worriedly, placing a hand on each of my shoulders, guiding me to take a seat on a nearby log.
“Whats wrong? Are you alright?” “Yeah, im just tired.” I shook my head.
“Fatigue is common in early stages of pregnancy, before Irma and I lost our baby, she was extremely fatigued, she couldn’t get out of bed most days.” His eyes lit up whenever he would talk about his late wife.
“On those days she would be suffering restless leg syndrome too, so I can help you with some tips that helped calm her down.”
My mind wandered to my nightmares, knowing that exhaustion was already on the table, but it had nothing to do with the exhaustion I was facing.
“Id love that, thank you.” I smiled softly.
“Ill take you to your tent, you can have a sleep.”
“Dale, you don-“ “Come on, let’s get you to sleep.” He smiled, helping me up and walking with me to the tent.
When we made it to my tent, I saw Daryl through the fabric of the door, duffel bag in hand as he shoved countless items of his into it.
The sight made my stomach drop, my heart felt like it was in my throat.
“Ill give you a minute.” Dale whispered, backing away, staying at a distance.
I took a few steps towards the tent, Daryl turning around and making eye contact with me.
Turning back around and continuing to fill up his duffle.
“I’m sorry.” I spoke softly. I waited for him to respond, only for him to grunt, ignoring me.
“I know you are mad, and you have every right to be, just please. Don’t leave.” I spoke, reaching to place a hand on his shoulder, but deciding against it, bringing my hand down and wringing them together.
It felt as though the duffle bag was a bottomless pit at this point.
Daryl turned around, flinging the duffle over his shoulder, and stepping around me.
“Daryl, I really am sorry. Please, can we talk?” Daryl stopped in the doorway. “We ain’t got nothing to talk about.” He muttered, leaving.
I sat on the bed, a stray tear rolling down my cheek.
The door opened and in my peripheral vision I could see Dale standing, waiting for me to respond to his presence.
“I fucked up Dale.” I shook my head. “Hey, it’s okay.” Dale stated softly, patting my shoulder as he stood in front of me.
“It’ll all be okay, you hear me?” He spoke again.
I looked up at Dale and more tears appeared.
“I really did it this time.” “Come on now, you know how he is. He will come around. Give him time.” He soothed me.
“Stop crying, you’ll be fine.” He smiled.
I sniffled slightly, wiping my eyes with the back of my hands.
“Im sorry, it’s these hormones.” I chuckled softly.
“I get it, I was lucky, Irma wasn’t all that emotional. She was always happy, except if she could smell meat cooking.” He joked lightly, making me laugh.
“There you go. That did it.” He smiled.
“I think you should try to get some rest.” Dale nodded to the bed, motioning for me to lay down.
“Thank you Dale, for today.” “Dont mention it. Get some rest, I’ll get you when dinners ready.” “Thank you, but-“ “No buts.”
Dale left the tent, and once again I was stuck with my own thoughts.
I laid in bed, staring at the tent’s ceiling, watching as the shadow of the leaves danced in the wind.
Seconds had bled into minutes, and minutes had evolved to hours.
The shadows weren’t as vibrant against the suns now much more dull shine.
I lightly pulled up my shirt and rested my hand on my abdomen, tapping it lightly with my fingers. “Your mom really messed up bean.” I spoke softly, fingers creating a rhythm against the skin.
Tumblr media
Day four
Exhaustion had settled in overnight.
My hand still resting on my abdomen, lightly tracing shapes as I watched the sun rise on the fabric above me.
Last night, much like the one before I chased sleep, nightmares from the fire, lucky to get maybe a full ten minutes in over both nights.
I sat up, glancing around the tent, wondering if I should leave the tent or wallow in my self pity for the day.
My answer came from a rumble in my stomach.
Moving my legs over the edge of the low sitting bed, I stood, taking off the bandage on my leg, the irritation slightly fading from red to pink, I applied some ointment to it before leaving it be.
I changed into a new pair of shorts, pulling over a t-shirt.
Looking down, I notice the shirt as one of Daryls.
I reach down and grab the hem of the shirt and lift it over my head, throwing it onto the bed, picking up another shirt and putting it on.
I look at the shirt that was wadded up on the bed and sighed, picking it up and holding it to my face, inhaling Daryls scent.
I dropped it back onto the bed and walked out of the tent, making my way quietly over to the camp.
The camp was still quiet, signalling that everyone was still asleep.
I took an apple from a basket that was sitting on the table near the RV, sitting down and taking a bite in the slight breeze, watching for the others.
I sat playing with the core of the apple when the door to the RV opened, watching as Dale stepped out.
He looked over to me, and tilted his head slightly.
“Getting slow there Dale, im up before you for a change.” I joked lightly as he shut the door. “It doesn’t count if you don’t sleep.” He spoke sternly, coming over to examine me. “Couldn’t sleep?” He asked.
I shook my head as looked down. “Want talk about it?” He asked softly. “No, I can’t.” I shook my head.
Dale nodded in response and sat next to me, taking an apple and eating it.
It wasn’t long until we were joined by the others, one by one they started piling out of their tents.
Lori looked over to me wearily, before looking over to her husband, who softly smiled at me.
I nodded towards Rick, who nodded back, turning to kiss his wife.
And of course, wherever Lori was, Shane wasn’t too far away.
Andrea was standing next to Shane, sparking up a conversation with him as he brushed her off.
Carol was making her way to the fire, to cook eggs or porridge sachets that Glenn had found before the collapse.
She smiled softly at me as she walked past me, smiling as she set up near the fire pit.
I heard footsteps and I looked over to see Daryl walking towards the group.
He stopped momentarily, staring at my face, fighting with himself between coming over and walking away, choosing the latter.
I felt a small touch to my arm and turned to be met with Dales hand.
“He will come around.” He nodded softly.
I stood up, moving around the table and walking back towards my tent. “Hey, where are you going?” Shane called out.
I raised my hand and waved him off as I left the group.
I could hear rushed footsteps behind me as I walked.
“Ill be okay on my own Dale.” I smiled softly. “I know that but-“ “But you don’t want to leave your ‘post’?”
“No, it’s not like that.” “You can go and eat breakfast Dale. I won’t steal a car.” I turned, promising the elder man.
Dale stood, unsure of what to do.
“If you’re that worried about leaving me alone, how about I go and sit with Beth?”
“I may as well leave you alone.” He spoke, eyes widening as the words left his mouth.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to-“ “Dale, it’s okay.” I assured him, patting his shoulder to try and stop his guilty conscience.
“I mean you have a point.” I continued a small chuckle on my lips.
“You need to eat, so, you go back to everyone, eat something and I’ll meet you at the farmhouse.”
“I don’t know.” “Look, you can escort me to the house, and make sure that im with someone before leaving.”
“Okay.” He nodded, motioning for me to follow him.
The walk to the house didn’t take long, Maggie had been standing on the front porch, looking over to the camp.
I glanced over to see Glenn sitting alone on a camping chair, kicking the dust under his shoe.
I looked back to Maggie, knowing the fear, the pain behind her eyes.
“Give me a moment.” Dale smiled.
Dale took a step forward, Maggie looking from Glenn to the two of us.
Maggie glanced at me, but quickly tore her attention to Dale.
The two stepped aside, talking in hushed whispers, occasionally glancing at me.
Maggie nodded, and Dale smiled, walking back over to me.
“I’m not feeling the best today, Maggie has offered to stay with you for the day.” He softly patted my shoulder.
“What?” “Yeah, I’m going to lay down, I really don’t feel like myself.” He wandered off towards the camp.
“Im sorry Maggie, I didn’t think he would pawn me off-“ “I offered.” She was quick to speak.
“I needed to talk to you about the other day, and I haven’t known how too.” She sighed.
“How’s Beth?” I asked. “She is better, the colour is coming back in her face.” She smiled softly. “Do you want to come see her?” She asked. “Can I?” “Of course.” She nodded, taking my hand in hers and taking me upstairs to see Beth.
When we entered the room, as Maggie said, Beth’s face had more colour in it than it did two days before.
Bath was laying on her back, a nasal tube fed through her nose, being held in place by tape.
She was beginning to blink more and be more responsive.
“She is responding to touch, she squeezes my hand now.” Maggie smiled.
“Im glad.” I smiled softly, as Patricia walked into the room, smiling as she seen me.
“Your leg, its healing well.” She grinned. “Come on.” Maggie nodded her head, pulling me to follow her again.
Once we made it out of the door, which Maggie pushed open with a bang, the group looked over to us.
“Where are we going?” I asked as Maggie ran ahead of me, running after her. “Trust me.” She smiled softly, turning back.
Maggie bee-lined to the stable and I followed.
I could hear the nickering and the whinnying as I entered the stable.
I walked over to Betsy, rubbing my hand against her snout, smiling as he blew air from her nostrils.
A clutter behind me made me jump, I turned to see Maggie lifting one of the saddles, and resting it on Nelly’s gate, opening it and leading the horse out.
She saddled Nelly and climbed on the back of her.
“You coming?” She asked, extending her hand out for me to take. I smiled and took her hand, moving to climb up onto Nelly’s back.
Maggie began to walk out of the stable, gradually picking up speed.
“Hey!”
I turned my head to see Shane and Daryl looking over to the two of us on the horse.
“What do you think you’re doing?” Daryl yelled. “(Y/n)! Get down from there!” Daryl began to walk towards the barn. “Hold on.” Maggie looked back and smiled. “What the hell?” He yelled as he began to run to the stables.
Maggie flicked the reins, and squeezed nelly’s sides, signalling for her to speed up.
“Stop!” He yelled.
My arms tightly wrapped around Maggies middle, the wind whipping my hair from my face.
For the first time since the collapse, I felt free.
The wind hitting my face, my hair flowing behind me as we raced through the path Maggie had taken me down two days ago.
Maggie signalled for Nelly to slow down.
The horse began to slow down from a gallop, to a trot down to a walk.
“You okay?” Maggie asked, slightly looking back. “Yeah.” I paused. “My ass is sore though.” I laughed.
Maggie let out a laugh as she walked Nelly over to the waters edge, climbing down and hitching her.
Maggie extended her hand for me to take, helping me climb down as we walked over to the water.
Maggie stopped and sat in the grass.
“Sit with me.” She smiled up at me.
I nodded and sat down next to her, crossing my legs facing her.
“Lets talk.” “Dale asked you to do this didn’t he?” I asked looking down. “He mentioned that you weren’t talking to anyone.” She started. “He also said that you aren’t sleeping, what’s going on?” She asked. I sighed, looking down.
“I can’t sleep without Daryl.” I confessed. “And normally that’d be all but-“ “But?” “Ive been having nightmares.” I paused, swallowing the lump in my throat.
“Ive been having nightmares about the run, the collapse.” My cheat began to rise heavily.
“What happened?” Maggie asked, scooting closer to me, putting her hand on my back and rubbing circles. “After the collapse, after I got out..” I took a deep breath. “There was this man. He grabbed me, he had intentions, and I fought him and ran.”
I looked over to Maggie, to see her face had slightly fallen as I told the story.
“He caught up. Had me against a wall, he had his tongue on my face.” I shook my head in disgust. “If it weren’t for Glenn, it would’ve been worse.” I finished. “Glenn saved you?” Maggie asked, I nodded.
“Ive been having nightmares about what could’ve happened, and I can’t close my eyes without seeing him, without his breath invading my senses.”
“Glenn told me that there were others, talking about what they were going to do with me.” I closed my eyes. “(Y/n), I am so sorry.” “What are you sorry for?” “I practically asked you to go so Glenn wasn’t alone.”
“Dont blame yourself for my own actions.” I paused looking into Maggies eyes, putting my hands on her shoulder.
“I’m okay Maggie, I went on my own accord and i’m glad that I went, because If I didn’t who knows, what could’ve happened to Glenn.” “I heard Rick and daddy talking about that, Thank you for saving him.” “I only did what I had to do.” I smiled softly as she shared a soft smile with me.
Maggie took a breath, looking over the water.
Birds in the distance, making the silence between the two of us bearable.
“Are you guys talking yet?” I asked.
Maggie shook her head, placing a hand over her forehead.
“He changed since he went to find daddy.” She began.
“When he came back he blames me for freezing, he says that I got into his head.”
“How did you get into his head?” “I told him I loved him.” She sighed.
“And do you?” I asked, already knowing the answer. “Of course I do, but it was going so well. I just don’t know why it is like this.” “Because, Glenn didn’t have anyone before you, not in the group, he has to adapt to this.” I paused. “Just give him time.”
She nodded her head, smiling softly.
“Do you hear that?” Maggie asked, turning her head to look over her shoulder.
I looked at her confusedly, she held her hand up.
“Listen.”
I did what Maggie told me, and listened. The sound of hooves hitting the ground grew closer. Maggie stood, reaching down to help me up, looking in the direction of the hooves.
Through the trees, I could see a familiar light bay coat.
“Betsy?” I asked softly, looking at Maggie.
Betsy broke the tree line, and I stopped breathing when I realised that she wasn’t alone.
Daryl signalled for her to slow down, climbing down and walked towards me in a wrathful stride.
“What the hell was that?” He called, getting closer. “Huh?” He asked. “Daryl-“ Maggie tried to talk. “Nah, I ain’t here for you.” He shook his head, pointing to Maggie. “Get outta here.” He sneered at her.
“No, Im not leaving you with her.” Maggie argued. “Maggie, it’s okay.” I whispered, nodding my head.
She looked at me for a moment before sighing. “Fine. If you hurt her, I swear to god.” She muttered, getting in his face.
I watched as Maggie unhitched Nelly and climbed onto her.
Maggie’s face shared one last look of concern, before looking at me, nodding in acceptance as I nodded for her to go.
I looked over to Daryl who was watching Maggie ride off.
The air was thick with tension as his eyes averted to me.
Daryl began to pace, eyes not leaving me as he began to flatten the grass beneath his feet.
The silence was making my head hurt, my heart pounding against my chest as it filled with anxiety.
“Yell at me.” I shakily spoke.
Daryl looked at me, eyes hard.
“Yell at me, scream at me.” I nodded, pausing. “Just please say something, get it over with because I can’t handle the silence anymore Daryl.” I sighed, looking down at my wringing hands.
“What the hell are ya’ playing at?” He finally spoke. “Ya’ go out and almost get yourself killed? Now ya’ runnin’ off on the back of a horse with Maggie?” He spat, throwing his hands in the air. Daryl stopped pacing momentarily, staring at me.
“I didn’t know if ya’ were dead!” He yelled, moving closer to me. I looked up to meet his eyes, the eyes I fell in love with full of anger.
His eyes were watering, his jaw clenched as his chest continued to heavily rise and fall with each breath he took.
I reached out for him, placing my hand on his bicep. He snatched it from my touch as if it burnt him. I pulled my hand back, and crossed my arms, watching how he began to pace once more.
I moved to speak, but Daryl cut me off.
“I went looking for you!” “I went to the highway, you weren’t there! I drove into town, you weren’t there!” “I looked everywhere and you weren’t there!” He yelled as he pointed to the ground. “When I saw you in that car, I was relieved.” He paused. “Then I realised you were covered in shit.” “I thought you were almost dead!” He yelled.
“You’re angry.” I spoke calmly as he snapped his head around to look at me. “And I don’t blame you.” “When you’re out there, I get so worried, and I hate not knowing if you’re okay.” I paused. “Not knowing if you’ll come home.” “I should’ve told you.” I looked up.
Daryl’s eyes softened briefly, quickly returning to their angry glare.
“But I didn’t, I didn’t tell you because I know that you would have made me stay.” “If I had stayed here Daryl, Glenn could’ve died.” I finished. “And?” He scoffed as if it didn’t matter. “Really? ‘And?’” I asked, my blood slowly starting to simmer. “Glenn could’ve died out there!” “It wouldn’t have been you!” “If it weren’t for Glenn Daryl, I could’ve died!”
“If you didn’t go in the first place you would’ve been fine!” he yelled. “Glenn is our friend! He is our family Daryl!”  “He ain’t shit to me!” He yelled, pointing in the direction of the farm.
I raised my brow and scoffed, enraging Daryl more. I moved closer to Daryl, moving to poke him in the chest.
“If it weren’t for Glenn, Id be gone.” “I could’ve been dead on the street, or taken to their camp and god knows what else.” “If it weren’t for Glenn, Lori and Carl wouldn’t have Rick back.” “Glenn may not mean ‘shit’ to you, but he has done so much for this group. Myself included, and you..”
“I wasn’t going to let him go out there alone, if it was you going out there I would’ve done the exact same thing.” I made sure to look into his eyes as tears threatened to spill out of my own.
My heart felt as though it was going to explode through my chest, my stomach filled with anxiety as my tears began to slowly fall.
I took a step back and put a hand over my face, groaning as I tilted my head back. These dumbass hormones.
“You can be mad at me all you want, but I need you.” I looked at him. Daryl carefully watched me, concern instead of anger crossing his features.
“I am so tired.” My voice broke as I sighed. “I am a pregnant, hormonal, emotional wreck Daryl, you aren’t talking to me. I haven’t slept in two nights because I can’t sleep without you. Whenever I manage to close my eyes, I’m plagued by nightmares.” He took a step towards me, gently reaching out.
“I did what I thought was right.” I swallowed. “And im sorry.” My composure broke, tears cascading down my cheeks, sobs emitting from my chest.
I felt his chest crash against me and his arms wrapping around me as he buried his face into my hair, kissing the top of my head softly.
His arms gently squeezed me as I cried into his chest, my hands gripping the back of his shirt as I pulled him closer, terrified of the absence of his body.
“Shh, i got ya.” He mumbled against my hair. “Im sorry.” I sniffled into his chest, Daryls chin moving against my scalp as he shook his head no.
“Don’t.” He whispered.
I felt Daryl pull away, and I held on tighter.
“Come on.” He gently pushed me off of him, looking down at me, grabbing my hand and leading me to Betsy.
Without warning Daryl lifted me onto the horse, waiting for me to get comfortable, swinging my leg to straddle her.
Daryl lifted himself onto Betsy, his arms either side of me, his left hand resting on my stomach as he gently kissed behind my ear. His legs signalled for Betsy to move, and she began to walk back to the farm.
Maggie was pacing around the stables by the time we got back. Relief washing over her face when she saw the two of us.
A small smile washed over her face as she noticed where Daryls hand had been sitting.
As soon as Betsy stopped, Daryl climbed down, reaching up to lift me off of her.
Once my feet were planted on the ground, Daryl moved his hands from my hips.
“Ill unsaddle her.” Maggie spoke as Daryl moved to take Betsy inside. “Go.” She nodded to Daryl as she led Betsy into the stables.
Daryls hand reached down and grabbed mine, leading me to our tent.
I turned around to look at Maggie, mouthing a thank you to her, getting a nod in response. We walked past the others, making our way to our tent.
Daryl, pushed the fabric open, gently pulling me into the tent after him.
He let the fabric fall back down as me moved to lay on the bed, pulling me down to lay with him. His arms enveloped me, encasing me in his warmth.
I could feel his face in my neck as his placed soft kisses along the skin.
I turned around in his arms to face him, my hand moving the hair from his forehead as he looked down to my stomach, his fingers resting on my hip as his thumb stretched over my stomach, running over it.
He stayed silent, eyes glued to where his baby was being protected.
“Hey.” I whispered. “You okay?” I asked softly, moving a hand to his cheek.
He lightly pulled back, but relaxed into my touch, a soft smile on his lips.
His hand moved from my hip and pushed my shirt up, placing his hand flat against where the bump will be.
He opened his mouth to speak, hesitating he closed it again and looked back down.
“Baby? What’s up?” I asked, slightly worried. I moved slightly, resting on my elbow as I looked at him. “Is something wrong?” I asked wearily.
He shook his head, his fingers tracing shapes over my stomach. “What’s it like?” He asked quietly, a small blush on his cheeks. “Being pregnant?“ I asked, searching his eyes.
He nodded slightly.
I smiled softly, motioning for him to lay back.
Daryl rolled over to lay on his back, his right arm resting behind his head as I cuddled into his side, my head resting on his left shoulder.
“It feels weird.” I spoke softly, my fingers tracing a pattern on his chest. He hummed, as his fingers ran circles on my arm.
“Im always emotional, I try to hide it most of the time because I don’t want to be annoying.” I chuckled.
“I miss you all of the time.” I blushed softly. “Although, I think that’s just a personal preference.” I chuckled softly.
“Im exhausted, but I can not stand not doing something.” I paused. “Im always nervous about Bean, about how they’re doing in there.” I admitted, my stomach fluttering as Daryl pulled me closer into his side.
“Its just crazy, to think that in here.” I moved my hand to rest over his hand that had stayed on my stomach.
“A baby, made from the best parts of us and love is growing into a little human.”
Daryl kept quiet as I spoke.
“I read that book the other day, just to check up on Bean’s growth.” “Bean is the size of a prune, Little bones are being formed. Bean even has a tiny little face.” I smiled up at him.
Daryl was silent, just listening to every thing I say.
“Ill need support, a lot of it, I cant do this alone.” I whispered. “There are a few things that you’ll enjoy about my pregnancy.”
I was waiting for a response, Daryls shallow breaths filling the tent. I moved my head slightly to look up.
Daryl had fallen asleep, his mouth partially open as soft snores emitted from him.
I smiled softly and snuggled closer into him. “That’s some information I’ll have to tell you tomorrow.” I chuckled to myself.
My eyes watched the shadows of the branches on the roof of the tent, my eyelids beginning to droop as I softly yawned.
Daryl in his sleep state, once again pulled me closer to him, wrapping both arms around me and sighing as he drifted into a more deep sleep.
My eyes closed as I listened to the steady beat of Daryl’s heart.
My mind, my body finally letting me fall into a sleep.

Growing Together - Chapter Seventeen - One Guest Too Many
Author's note: If you haven't read it already, I invite you to read my Halloween Ficlet: His Worst Nightmare. It has insight into what is about to happen in this chapter, and it will make it richer. I hope you like it. Enjoy!
Victor stroked his sleeping son’s curls before turning off the light. It was expected that Owen wouldn’t take long to fall asleep, he had been running around all afternoon, playing soccer with his father. With a chuckle, Victor closed Owen’s bedroom door and walked to the living room, where his wife waited for him.
He admired her from the doorframe, sitting on the sofa, her legs crossed on the upholstery as she minded her phone. For years, he had given up on his dream of building a home, resigned to a seemingly certain fate of solitude. He still couldn’t believe that this was his reality now. He was a husband and a father, he shared his bed and played soccer in the park, he had Valentine’s Day dinners and teacher-parent meetings. He was so happy that sometimes it was hard to keep his calm and collected demeanor. It was like he could burst at his seams at any moment, and laugh until he cried.
His heart jumped with joy when the love of his life turned to him, welcoming him with a warm smile.
“He’s sleeping?”
“Yes.” He smiled back. “Didn’t even stir when I went to check on him.”
He sat beside her, pulling her feet onto his lap, taking the phone from his pocket.
“Alright, let’s get this done.” He gently squeezed her toes.
“Ready when you are.” Andrea showed him her schedule on her phone.
There had been a slight change in their Sunday evening, one that was of the utmost importance. Between LFG and LCG affairs, and the duties they entailed, it was essential that they coordinate their schedules, so at least one of them could attend to Owen at all times and they had some free time on the weekends. It was a delicate dance, oftentimes almost impossible to execute, but they would always find a way.
“Alright.” He focused on his screen. “At 7 pm tomorrow, dinner with the partners from London.”
“On my schedule.” She nodded, grimacing after, as she remembered something. “Damn it, we need to find a babysitter. Do you think we could leave Bug with Goldman?”
Victor smirked. Of course he had thought of that already, who did she think he was?
“Goldman is available, I already confirmed with him. He’ll take Owen.” Victor swiped again on his phone. “Tuesday. I can pick up Owen from school and make dinner. I have nothing past 6 pm.”
“Actually, we should go shopping to get some clothes for him. We could go pick him up together and head to the mall, maybe have dinner there?”
“Didn’t you tell me you had to go to the University on Tuesday?” He checked on his phone, wondering if he had missed it.
“I had to reschedule for Friday, Olive will be away on a business trip on Tuesday.”
“You’ll have to reschedule.” Victor responded tentatively, hoping she wouldn’t be too upset.
“You’re busy?” She checked her phone.
“I am.” He nodded, preparing himself for a reaction. “And so are you. Mia invited us for dinner on Friday.”
“Ugh.” She complained, rubbing her forehead. “Why?”
“Andrea.” He tried to appease her.
“Oh please, you know she just wants to ask one of us for an interview or a photo shoot.” She removed her feet from his lap in protest. “We don’t have time for anything else, but we have for this?”
“She keeps inviting us and I keep refusing. I couldn’t say no again. Besides, if a certain someone would update her schedule when she knows she will be busy, none of this would’ve happened.” He scolded.
“Friday is still not good for me.” She glared at him.
“You were the one who agreed to a double date with them on our wedding day. I thought you wanted this. You still don’t like her?”
“I don’t not like her.” She sighed. “I just don’t like like her. But that’s not the point anyway, I can’t do it on Friday.”
Victor paused for a moment, assessing the situation. Despite what he had thought, Andrea was still having a hard time fully accepting his past, and even after marrying him, there seemed to be something that was making her jealous. That, Victor simply could not have. He had to show his wife the truth, that she was the only woman for him, and the best way to do it was to get them both together. Now, more than ever, it was important that they went.
“Ok, then.” Victor sat back with a smirk. “Since you are unavailable, you should call her and cancel. I’m sure she will understand.”
Andrea froze, staring at him, not expecting his move. Andrea could be many things, but she wasn’t impolite, and Mia would insist enough for her to say yes. She was relying on Victor to be the villain and refuse since she knew she wouldn’t be able to do it herself.
“Maybe you could do it.” She practically batted her eyelids at him. “She talked to you first.”
“Aren’t you the busy one?” He lifted a brow at her. “Don’t expect me to do your dirty work.”
“You received her invitation, not me.” She ran her hand across his chest slowly, knowing how it would affect him. “I think you-”
“Nope.” It took all his strength to resist her, as her touch was enough to cloud his judgment and make him cave. “If you are the one who can’t make it, you should be the one to tell her.”
Andrea rolled her eyes and sighed, defeated.
“Fine, we’re going then.” She sat straight on the sofa. “She’s going to make me agree anyway, may as well save me the trouble.”
“Excellent.” Victor pulled her to his lap, craving more of her. “Now that that is settled, we can spend time on other activities.”
“And for the record… Mmm.” She moaned as Victor pulled her even closer, his lips tracing her jaw. “I did not agree to go on a double date.”
“Yes, you did.” He spoke with his lips still pressed on her skin, busy tasting her. “We should have a double date.” He teased, mimicking her voice. “Ignore what Victor says about your food, we can cook together.”
“That does sound like something I would say.” Her fingers ran through his hair, sending ripples of pleasure down his spine. “Although I do not sound like that.”
“You don’t.” A wicked smile widened on his face, as he buried it in the nape of her neck. “You sound shorter.”
“I beg your pardon?!” She pulled away with a gasp.
Victor, however, knew his wife better than anyone and was quick to react. He took her in a hungry kiss, deeply and greedily, his body aching for her, his erection pressing against the fabric of his sweat pants. By the time they broke the kiss, both panting and drunken with lust, she had long forgotten what she was supposed to be upset about.
Not wasting any time, he took his love in his arms and carried her to the bedroom, ready to show her how special she was to him, ending their weekend on a perfect note.
His wife complained during the week about the mountain of emails Mia had sent her, excited about their night together. They had agreed to cook together that evening, partly to bond, partly to spite him, so they regularly traded recipes, deciding on one that could fit everyone’s taste. Unsurprisingly, Victor was on dessert duty and was asked to bring pudding.
Victor watched his wife as they took the elevator to Mia’s apartment, her eyes slightly shiny from exhaustion, yet an honest smile on her face. She had had a terrible week and somehow managed to sleep even less than him, so he figured at this point she was actually welcoming a moment of relaxation with friends, even if it was with Mia.
Naturally, Mia had to almost ruin it all the moment she opened the door. She was so excited she almost tackled Andrea to the ground with a hug, if not for Victor’s vigilant hand.
“Watch it, dummy.” He scolded. “I want to leave here with my wife in one piece, if you don’t mind.”
“I’m so sorry, Andrea.” Mia clumsily brushed his wife’s clothes with her hands. “I’m just so happy to see you here.”
Victor glanced at his son, whose eyes were wide in horror.
“You must be Owen!” She beamed at him. “My name is Mia, how are you?”
“Hi, pleased to meet you.” He quickly extended his hand to shake hers, before she got any ideas about hugging him as well. Smart boy.
“You are your father’s son, so polite!” She entered the apartment, inviting them in. “Did you bring the goods?” Mia glanced at the bags Andrea was holding.
“Don’t worry, I got your stash.” She chuckled, handing her one of the bags.
“It’s pudding, not heroin.” Victor scoffed, as he took his son’s coat off.
“It might as well have heroin, it’s so addictive.” Mia peeked inside the bag. “Come in, Gavin is in the kitchen preparing some ingredients.”
The last time he had been in Mia’s apartment was when he brought her home from the hospital, after the Blackout and the Queen’s death. He had laid her in bed, tucked her in, telling her to rest, and cooked her lunch, leaving her kitchen spotless afterwards. As he had navigated the foreign stove and cabinets, taking and putting back ingredients and utensils, he was confident they had a chance, and he would fight for it. His joy, however, had a bittersweet taste, like he had lost something significant that day, although he didn’t know what. There was a feeling of longing and sadness eating at him, one that not even the thought of finally having a relationship with Mia could fill. As usual, he had shoved it aside, like he did with most of his feelings, focusing on the present moment.
In hindsight, maybe he knew he was so tired of being lonely that he was mistaking things. Maybe he knew he didn’t love her. When she handed him the wedding invitation, it was a blow, but not as deadly as he thought it would be. And when he met his wife, in that beautiful teal dress, with that distracting peacock on her wrist, he knew right away that he had finally found out what love felt like, and he was never able to let go. Andrea needed to know that, like she knew the sun was hot - without a shadow of a doubt.
They found Gavin chopping onions at the counter, an English Springer Spaniel at his feet, keeping him company. Owen immediately became fascinated with the opportunity of making a canine friend.
“Can I pet him?” He completely ignored Gavin’s attempt to greet him.
“Yes, he is friendly.” Gavin looked at him with sweet eyes. “Scratch his ears, he likes that.”
“What’s his name?” Owen did as suggested, giggling when the dog turned his head slightly, to fully enjoy the gesture.
“Flyer.” Mia chimed in. “You know, he used to be a police dog. We took him home when he became too old to do the job.”
“He used to chase criminals?” Owen became even more excited.
Victor saw himself years ago, making soup in that kitchen, alone with his thoughts, and looked at his wife, watching over his son, eyes trained on him and the dog’s reaction. His heart beat faster, bringing light to a truth: the feelings of longing and loss had vanished the moment he laid eyes on Andrea. She was his destiny, he was certain of that. He came behind her, gently wrapping her hand with his, as a silent thank you
“He caught a lot of criminals in his day.” Gavin took him away from his thoughts, still talking about his pet. “He also has a good nose for drugs, that was his job for quite a while.”
“Maybe you shouldn’t let him smell my dad’s pudding.” Owen spoke in all seriousness, making them all laugh.
“Ok, we need to start dinner.” Mia turned to the boy. “Owen, would you like to watch cartoons with Flyer, while we cook dinner? Or would you rather stay here with us?”
“Can I watch cartoons, please?” Owen asked. Andrea seemed hesitant.
“Don’t worry. Flyer will take good care of him, won’t you boy?” Gavin ran his fingers through the dog’s soft brown and white coat. “And he’s just in the next room, we’ll hear him if he needs us.”
“Behave.” Victor stroked his son’s curls before he left for the living room, the dog right behind him.
“Aw, you’re a dad.” Mia cooed at Victor.
“I am.“ Victor smiled, pulling his wife to his side, his hand caressing her back. “So, I was promised a meal. Do I have to make it myself?” He teased.
“Oh no, today I will make you swallow your bitter words with my cooking abilities.” Mia lifted her chin. “You just stay there, enjoying your wine and the show.” Mia took a pan out of her cupboard, showing it to his wife. "Andrea and I will cook dinner.”
Victor had to admit, it was quite the show. A horror movie, to be exact. Some things did never change, and Mia in the kitchen was one of them. If not for his and Andrea’s watchful eye, she would’ve set the kitchen on fire at least three times. Victor was antsy on his seat, seeing her almost make all kinds of mistakes, aching to take over, but since Mia had decided he wouldn’t touch the food unless it was to eat it, he couldn’t help but sit idly watching his wife cook and stop every one of Mia’s attempts to kill them all. So much for showing her cooking prowess. At least she was wise enough to ask Andrea to participate.
“How are you still alive? Or your husband?” Victor scolded.
“Well, it’s a new recipe.” Mia pouted. “Everyone has troubles when cooking something new.”
“Just sit here and watch while Andrea does it.” Victor sighed, annoyed. “Maybe you can learn a thing or two.”
“I definitely can learn a lot.” Mia laughed nervously, taking a pen and paper to take notes. “This way is probably better.”
“Safer is what you mean.” Victor continued. “Although I have to say, if there is anyone here who can think of a way of accidentally killing someone with a pen, it’s you.”
“Come on, she was not that bad!” Andrea smiled at Mia. “In any case, be careful with my husband. I need to take him home in one piece, or they won’t give me back my deposit.”
“I should be the one concerned here!” Mia laughed, then turning to Victor. “Do you remember how we first met? You hit me with your ball! You’re the dangerous one.”
“I hit you with a ball because a certain dummy didn’t know any better than to get out of the way.” He calmly retorted.
“It was your lousy aim!” She argued. “You made me pudding the next day, remember? I still have your bowl!” Turning to the cupboard, she took something from it. “Here! My souvenir.”
Victor’s mind went back to his childhood as he saw the old bowl. He remembered his child self, always acting strong and logical, when inside he was fragile and hungry for affection. If he could travel back in time again he would go to that boy and tell him that despite what was still ahead, he would be alright.
“You kept it all this time?” His voice was hoarse with emotion.
“Of course.” Mia replied, her voice shaky.
Gavin cleared his throat, obviously uncomfortable. Victor raised his eyes to meet his wife’s, finding them shiny and sad. She was getting it all wrong. He was moved, yes, but not because he was reminiscing on some sweet memory. It was because he could see how far he had come, and how blessed he was now. It was not because of Mia, it was because of her.
“This has to be a record for you.” Victor changed his tone to a mocking one. “You kept something for over twenty years and didn’t break it.”
“Dinner is almost ready.” Gavin declared, probably more because he wanted to change the subject than the urgency of the food being served. “I’ll go set the table.”
“Help Andrea, I’ll go.” Mia got up from her seat, heading for the living room.
“It’s alright, I’ll help Andrea.” Victor got up from his seat.
When they were finally alone, he then turned to his wife, his arm wrapping around her waist, his hand cupping her cheek lovingly, making her face him.
“Don’t entertain silly ideas in your head.”
“What do you mean?” She frowned.
“I’m yours.” He looked into her eyes, hoping she could see the truth in his.
She stood silent for a moment, staring back at him.
“Hey, what are you people waiting for?” Mia called from the living room. “The table is set.”
After some good food and some good wine, Andrea’s light seemed to shine a little brighter, carefree, bantering and laughing.
“Did I tell you already how much I love your dog?” She smiled. “Look at him, watching over Owen. It’s adorable.” She gazed lovingly at their son, who had fallen asleep on the couch after dinner.
“Alright, who wants a final drink?” Mia spoke, bringing a tray with several liqueur bottles.
“As long as you don’t spill it on me, like you almost did with the wine.” Victor retorted.
“Please, even if I ruin your black shirt, you have hundreds of them.” Mia swatted at him.
Before Victor could argue, Andrea jumped in, all excited.
“Wait, wait! I know this one!” She raised her hand playfully. “I have been extensively educated on the subject of black shirts, I have been preparing for this moment for two years now.”
Victor remembered all the lectures he had given his wife when she said he “looked like he always wore the same shirt.” That was her chance for retaliation. He braced himself for impact.
“Apparently they all look alike but they are all different.” His wife continued. “There are many shades of black. For example, I would say this one is closer to coal than pitch black, but Victor has shirts in other tones, like jet black, onyx or raven. Also, the collars differ, there is the classic, the button down, the pinned, and my favorite, the mandarin. The fabric is also different, there is Oxford cloth, Pinpoint Oxford, Royal Oxford, among other material and finishing touches. They can also have different buttons, different cuffs, you name it. Victor has many black shirts, but I can guarantee you there aren’t two alike.”
Victor was stunned. To be honest, he never thought she had heard his explanation on the matter, she would always glare at him with half hooded eyes, like she was bored to death. But she did. Moreover, she apparently memorized it.
“Surprised?” She gave him a sly smile. “So what’s my grade, Teacher Victor?”
He couldn’t help but grin at her. Under the table, he took her hand, tracing on her palm A+.
“Wow, Victor seems impressed! That’s not a common feat!” Mia took a sip of her drink. “You are truly made for each other. I’m honestly glad everything ended well and not in bloody tragedy.”
“What do you mean, bloody tragedy?” Andrea frowned.
There was a moment of silence in the kitchen. Gavin glared at Mia.
“They need to know.” Mia turned to Gavin, in all seriousness.
“Need to know what?” Victor asked.
Another long pause. The hosting couple looked down.
“Mia.” Victor warned, starting to lose his patience.
“Ok… So… Something happened at your wedding.” Mia started. “The reason why I pulled you into the house before the reception… was because there was someone with a gun trying to hurt you.”
“Wait, what?” Andrea was stunned. “Who?”
Mia took a deep breath.
“It was Daniel, Andrea. I saw him on top of a tree, rifle in hand. He was trying to kill you.”
Andrea looked at Mia with wide eyes, the words still sinking in her. Victor, on the other hand, was livid.
“Daniel was at my wedding?” Victor snapped, enraged. “How am I only knowing of this-”
He was interrupted by a sudden movement in his peripheral vision. Andrea had doubled over, spilling the contents of her stomach all over Mia’s floor.
“Do you feel sick?” He asked his still fairly pale wife while they were driving home. “Let me know if you need me to pull over.”
“I’m fine.” She croaked. “Is Owen-”
“He’s asleep.” Victor assured her.
“Did Gavin explain how it happened, how he…” Andrea shook her head in disbelief. “How did he get in there in the first place?”
It was his fault. He was careless. He let his guard down.
“I will speak to Gavin later. Don’t be afraid, I will not let him hurt you.”
“I’m not afraid.” Andrea’s anger seeped through her voice. “I’m infuriated. I’m tired of people always thinking they can take whatever they want.” She looked Victor in the eyes, her lip quivering. “I’m sick of being bullied.”
Victor’s jaw clenched so hard that his teeth hurt. He was careless, he had let himself entertain with his happiness, letting his guard down. He was an idiot for believing the world would let him catch a break. And if not for Mia and Gavin, he would have paid a painful price: he would have lost what he treasured the most.
He clenched the steering wheel hard, vowing to himself never to make the same mistake again. And Daniel would be punished for all the pain that he caused, and curse the day he laid a hand on Victor’s precious Light.

PART I
One thing rang true and that was the prediction of the brutal blizzard of November 28th. Everyone prepped the best they could with the remembrance of how last Winter had ruthlessly blanketed their homes. There’s a frenzy for backup generators that get bought up in the Chicago stores for the anticipation. The first ominous whistle of the wind, and the pebbles of ice fall on the eve of Thanksgiving. Power flickers in each home giving them a moment of awkward darkness, before the backup generators kick in. The power companies in the city promise to have everyone serviced, but they start to service the scattered patches on the outskirts of the city first .
Most joked that was the brutal blizzard they had prepared for, until Mother Nature dropped her poker face. The ships with cargo became stuck in the harbor due to the icy fortress that froze over the gigantic lake. No lights of passing planes in the sky, as the wind turned into a sinister howl. Darkness engulfed the entirety of the city, except for a strip of hotels in neutral territory. The footmen of the families alert them that there seem to be only a handful of hotels that seem to be around. Meanwhile the temperature dips in the homes of those unlucky, and they must face a brash decision to not become the ice sculptures akin to the people of Pompeii.
Multiple phone calls are done, and just as their phones are about to die they get a booking. A hotel that mentions that the accommodations might be crowded -- However, they can host your groups and promise warmth as long as the storm doesn’t shut them down. Everyone packs up their children, pets, and housemates to journey to the only solace that isn’t sold out in all Chicago.
After a restless eternity everyone was given a room number with their baggage ( human and otherwise ). The group of people that checked guests in alert them that there is a room for the animals to stay in kennels or they may accompany the others up to the room. Just when everyone was annoyed after being crowded in the lobby, and having to wait decades to get from one floor to another in the elevator.  It doesn’t help there’s always that one asshole that tries to asphyxiate everyone with their heinous flatulence.
They FINALLY make it into their hotel room. Massive enough and customized with multiple full sized beds. No television, the heat blares up, it’s the poster child of the most bare necessities room. While everyone claimed a bed and stared haughty towards the guests that had ended up in the same room with them. A loud crackle followed by a slight rumble of their feet had the lights in the hotel rooms go off. The hotel doors seemed to have powered down, and anyone that tried to leave them --found they wouldn’t budge. A soft wheeze emitted from the heater in the room, and for a moment that’s the only noise in the room with you until the profanities start to flood. Winter wasn’t the only one that had prepped for the evening. The Walshes and their affiliates watch on with hidden elation as their plan goes into motion.
Part I will run from November 28th until December 3rd. Under the cut will be the groupings as well as some additional notes for this event.
Please don’t make any new starters open or closed that don’t pertain to this event while it’s happening. Normal replies can be done while the event is running, but it gets confusing timeline wise if people have additional threads that they start that would belong after the event timeline.
For this event specifically, the weather in Chicago is fictional. After the event you can feel free to glance at the Weather app and RP it out that way!
Animals will also be boarded at this neutral hotel. Keep in mind if the animals are left at your residence with the current temperature and no heat they will likely pass away.
Keep in mind that if your character has children (unless they are Walsh affiliates) they  likely have their kids in the room with them or any other NPC’s. If the character is a Walsh it was their choice to have them be ‘stuck’ in the room with them or left with a babysitter provided by the council.
For information on the bold names check the Walsh Discord channel.
PREP PLOT SLOTS CHOSEN
LIAM WALSH & IVY IVASHKOV volunteered to carpool with a hotel van to the hospital for sedatives and other harvesting supplies. AUDREY ROUSSEAU is already at the hospital and helps them fill the van before they all ride back to the hotel together. DAVUT DEMIR & KILLIAN WALSH are tasked with going to The Westin and sabotaging the hotel in time for the storm. They are told to do whatever necessary to make sure the hotel can’t accept any more guests before they return for the night. DARREN MURPHY took a smoke break after unloading only one of the supply vans at the hotel. LINCOLN DAWSON caught them smoking—as opposed to working—and made DARREN MURPHY finish unloading two other vans while they watched.
ASLYN WALSH collected the weekly stash owed from the business owners at Magnificent Mile. She delivered the money to the council without prying eyes of local law enforcement or rival gangs catching on. ARMANDE IVASHKOV & another associate, had the dirty work of cleaning up the old blood stained hotel rooms used for organ harvesting the night before. They made it presentable before opening night. Their efforts were doubled when other affiliates weren’t aware of the chore, and had set off to bloody the room with a fresh harvest session.TARON LYNCH & JOANNA "JOEY" O'SHEA are instructed to sabotage the backup power generators on the north side. Surprisingly, they didn’t get caught. CAOILAINN WALSH had to “check” everyone into the hotel—AKA, assign each guest to a room. Everyone converges in the lobby and watches them impatiently, and the later it gets, the more aggressive the crowd becomes. ASLI DEMIR & FLETCHER HARGRAVE met with Jean Jaques “JJ” Baptiste and persuaded him by discussing terms of agreement for him to temporarily close Romanet Hotel the night of the massive storm.

Dear Taylor,
Thank you so much for everything. You have been there for me for everything. I don’t remember the day I was like “Wow, I love her so much!” but I know you have been in my life for a long time. My babysitter when I was super young got me started listening to you. She would take me in my stroller around the neighborhood and we would listen to you. I don’t remember exactly what song I first heard but I knew you were different. My mom actually heard you open for someone so I think she helped me start listening to your music, too. On my 4th birthday, (my literal 4th bday), I saw you at the Speak Now Tour in Bossier City, Louisiana. Some of my friends went with. My babysitter even came. Before the show, there was a security guard by this barricade. He could tell I was so excited and I was just so happy. I had SO much fun! I felt so proud that I knew every lyric you sang. My babysitter told me, “Look Addison, she’s walking through the crowd.” I was really sad because I wanted to give you a hug. After the amazing show, I didn’t care that I didn’t get to hug you because I knew that someday it would happen. Flash forward to the 1989 era. We bought these VIP backstage room passes. I met your tour manager person and she gave me these (guitar) picks. I was so happy, I was having the best time. My dad and brother met Andrea. Again, this tour date was also in Bossier City. I didn’t meet you but I kept smiling because you put on a great show. In 2018, I decided to make a fan account. You gave me so many wonderful memories (AND friends)! I saw you in New Orleans for Rep Tour two days after my 11th birthday. My friend took me with her and her & her mom thought I was insane for standing the WHOLE entire time. I met one of my internet friends and also made friends in the merch line. You guessed it, they thought I was insane for that, too. When you came on, I felt so alive & so happy. The surprise song was Speak Now (my Stan song)!! I cried and CRIED and well, cried. The night went by so fast. I wanted to see you again as my birthday present/party SO badly. My parents let me and I met even more friends there (Rep Tour Houston)! I wore my sparkly red shoes and my Mom made us shirts. You waved and pointed at me on your lift and that made my year decade. In the middle of September 2019 or so, you announced tour dates (for Lover). I wanted to see you so bad. My Dad got tickets and I couldn’t believe that I would be seeing you again. I agreed that this was going to be my birthday present/party for 2020. Now in late November or early December, I saw you were going to be at the Jingle Ball in NYC! My parents surprised me a week before the concert. (I even missed my first school dance to go see you, but I didn’t mind LOL!) I met all of my friends and got to celebrate your birthday with you. This long paragraph shows that I will always be there for you. I’m always bullied in school (mostly by the girls) and they secretly talk bad about me. They started a contest once to see who could ignore me for the longest time. I only have an older brother and a younger sister so you (and my old babysitter) are like big sisters for me. I’ve started to feel insecure because the girls in my class don’t want me and can’t find something in me that makes me special . It makes me start to think I’m not good enough. Every single time that I’m with them, they point out my flaws. I don’t expect you to read this or even respond but if you come across this, I want you to know your music gives me strength. You have taught me to be fearless, kind and full of courage. The next time you think you could make a better record, please remember your worth and your talent. Your music gets so many people through horrible things. I know if you were to see this, you would tell me to keep being kind and to not let the opinions of others affect me. Thank you for giving me a lifetime of memories and so many great friends. I will always support u because you have supported me. Thank you Taylor!! Love, Addison

parents  were  murdered  shortly  after  her  birth  but  she  was  retrieved  from  the  city  and  spent  both  infancy  and  adolescence  in  a  loving  foster  home  —  that  is,  until  she  turned  fifteen  and  made  her  first  unwarranted  kill  under  a  full  moon,  thereby  triggering  her  werewolf  shift
from  then  on  time  started  to  crosshatch  and  coagulate  into  one  singular  endeavour  to  learn  about  her  late  parents,  and  on  that  path  she  was  swindled,  lied  to,  and,  needless  to  say,  never  found  the  closure  she  sought
she  was  still  very  young  at  that  junction  in  time,  callow  and  made  foolish  mistakes  :  tried  to  aid  someone  in  severing  ancient  sire  bonds  that  were  far  beyond  her  comprehension,  helped  the  literal  devil   (  who  then  sent  a  proxy  to  assassinate  her  )
was  saved  from  the  grasp  of  untimely  death  by  a  certain  original  hybrid,  with  whom  she  then  had  a  brief  dalliance  that  would  result  in  a  pregnancy
and  a  pretty  miraculous  at  that
cue  a  series  of  abysmally  unfortunate  events  :  had  her  throat  slit  moments  after  giving  birth,  had  to  send  her  daughter  away  to  keep  her  safe  from  her  vindictive  grandmother,  fought  like  hell  to  assume  leadership  of  a  wolf  pack,  married  a  man  to  coalesce  several  packs  so  that  she  could  protect  said  daughter  against  her  vindictive  grandaunt,  got  cursed  for  #tryingit
after  all  that  she  was  gifted  with  some  wholly  deserved  albeit  short - lived  respite
aht  aht
died  again  in  front  of  and  to  protect  her  family
on  the  cloud,  she’d  have  grown  up  and  been  happy  in  a  middle  class  family,  with  both  parents  rooted  firmly  in  the  field  of  civil  service  then  picked  up  their  mantle  to  be  a  kindergarten  teacher  which  i  thought  would  suit  her  since  she  started  out  as  a  babysitter  in  canon  and  bc  she  is  genuinely  one  of  the  strongest  tv  mothers  i’ve  seen  in  a  long,  long  time  she  definitely  would’ve  retained  that  proclivity  for  nurturing  and  protecting
*   arc  two,  𝐀𝐋𝐋𝐈𝐒𝐎𝐍  𝐀𝐑𝐆𝐄𝐍𝐓.
as  i’m  heading  this  off  i  realise  all  my  muses  have  d  worded  on  screen  PXPZPXPZPPXZP
from  young  she’d  been  cultivated, systematically  and  clinically,  into  some  weapon  or  sharp  edge  and  sometimes  i  think  she  was  the  only  one  who  got  cut  on  it
besides  her  dad  and  maaaybe   (  and  it’s  a  hefty  maybe  )   her  mum  it’s  hard  to  conjure  the  image  of  her  receiving  much  affection  in  that  family,  what  with  a  dogmatic  grandfather  and  a  psychopath  for  an  aunt
adhering  pretty  closely  to  canon,  she  moved  to  beacon  hills  and  for  once  had  something  other  than  hissing  metal  and  bow  strings  to  latch  onto  :  made  friends,  fell  in  love  with  a  boy  who  turned  out  to  be  of  a  species  that  her  family  hunted  as  tradition
in  short  she  was  thrown  headfirst  into  an  amalgamation  of  the  supernatural  and  still  managed  to  remain  unerringly  human  and  while  she  faltered  and  strayed  many  times   (  i’m  recalling  her  hunting  down  erica  and  boyd  specifically  but  for  those  who  never  watched  she  was  gaslighted  into  being  very,  very  cruel  )   she  was  driven  near  mad  by  her  grandfather’s  boot  on  her  throat
was  the  key  in  saving  her  friends  and  cracking  the  code  of  killing  a  very  imposing  enemy  but  paid  for  it  with  her  life
on  the  cloud,  she’d  have  grown  up  either  a  rhythmic  gymnast  or  judoka  or  something  equally  tactile,  and  then  took  the  route  to  becoming  a  physical  therapist   (  now  just  in  training  but  well  on  her  way  )   and  i  genuinely  don’t  think  she  would’ve  taken  an  interest  in  archery  before  her  memories  flooded  back  which  i  think  makes  it  all  the  more  jarring
*   arc  three,  𝐁𝐄𝐋𝐋𝐀𝐓𝐑𝐈𝐗  𝐁𝐋𝐀𝐂𝐊.
i  honestly  don’t  know  if  i’m  gonna  be  able  to  do  her  justice  but  i  am  for  sure  going  to  try  my  very  best
a  concise  exemplification  of  first  borns  being  the  bearer  of  the  brunt  of  family  tradition,  bella  was  such  a  first - born  in  a  pure - blood  family  whose  heads  were  fanatical  pure - blood  supremacists  and  as  such  she  was  raised  in  the  same  mould
a  slytherin,  highly  intelligent  and  skilled  and  with  a  penchant  for  rebellion  and  to  challenge,  even  defy  the  strictures
i  do  think  that  the  prejudice  against  muggles  she  carried  forth  from  her  upbringing  was  pivotal  in  the  exacerbation  of  her  morality  but  i  think  she  also  in  large  part  chose  the  road  that  she  took
after  graduating  from  hogwarts,  she  became  one  of  the  most  vicious  death  eaters  in  a  supervillain’s  league
died  in  a  pretty  deserving  way  but  i  believe  she  never  once  faltered  in  her  beliefs  even  if  they  were  absolutely  clapped
deviating  a  little  from  canon  here  but  i  prefer  the  narrative  that  she  didn’t  marry  rodolphus  and  instead  preferred  to  be  unshackled  by  the  notion  of  a  family
falling  asleep  on  my  ass  here  but  in  this  alternate  life  i  see  her  favouring  seclusion  and  isolation,  flitting  around  almost  like  a  nomad   —   an  art  curator  and  antiquities  dealer,  still  very  grandiose  and  with  a  profound  obsession  with  opulence  and  eldritch  horror  but  her  cunning  and  sadism  would  be  more  psychological  than  physical  bc  i  don’t  think  she  could’ve  gone  around  mass  murdering  in  this  universe  and  still  get  away  with  it  PXPZPZPZPZ

let me take your hand
@andrea-lyn prompted: for prompts, I'd be giddy to get more mylex, potentially h/c with michael being the one getting the "c" (in so many ways)
Hope you enjoy, lovely!!
--------------------------------------------------------------------
It stormed the night before. Kyle and Alex spend ten minutes stomping and scraping around the hatch of Michael’s bunker lab, hands shoved in their pockets, breath clouding out in front of them. Alex passes Kyle a bottle of water to defrost the hinge. Deliciously warm air blasts them from head to toe when it creaks open. Kyle goes down the ladder first, and Alex follows quick behind him.
Kyle would be lying if he said he wasn’t excited to see Guerin’s secret alien lair. Of all the hidden bunkers in this town, this one might just be the most intriguing. So he’s maybe just a little bit disappointed when he finally hits the ground and gets a look and around and it’s just kind of…normal. For an underground lab, that is. Empty beakers on top of stacks of notebooks and weighing down loose sheets of drafting paper covered in pristine diagrams and calculations in Guerin’s tiny engineer print. Tables on locking wheels let him rearrange the layout of the lab at will, and it looks like it’s been done recently. All around the perimeter of the room are odd-shaped objects covered neatly with tarp, and in the center is a cluster of surfaces littered with equipment Kyle knows to be Liz’s.
“Oh,” Alex says, more exhale than vocalization.
Guerin is slumped at one of the center tables, head in his hands. His back rises and falls rhythmically. From the lack of objects flying at Kyle’s face, he must be deeply asleep.
The low light of the hanging lamps drenches him in gold, picking out every flicker of gilt in his hair, leafing his skin. His eyes are so deeply shadowed they look bruised. To that point, the greening edge of a bruise splashes across one cheekbone. Even in sleep, he doesn’t look resting. His shoulders are tight around his ears, his head hunched defensively between them, his hands curled into loose fists. Empty bottles of nail polish remover are scattered here and there around him, interspersed every now and then with bottles of Liz’s preferred vice.
By God, it’s worse than I thought! Kyle wants to exclaim in his best melodramatic doctor voice, but somehow he’s lost his stomach for joking around.
Alex circles the room so he can approach Guerin from the front. Kyle hangs off to the side, knowing Michael isn’t going to be happy to see him. He even—he has to look away when Alex reaches out slow to touch his shoulder.
“Guerin,” he says softly.
Kyle studies the wall, the slow oscillation of the ventilation fans. The moment is fragile, intimate, and—he came here for moral support for everyone involved, but he didn’t count on this. On being here for that split second of waking up, his favorite part of being with someone, the reason he always stays the night. The settling into awareness with another person…
Guerin groans. “Not now, Liz, I told you it’d be twelve hours—”
“Guerin. It’s me.”
His head jerks up. In profile, even his eyelashes are edged in gold from the lamp directly above him. Even from feet away, Kyle sees Alex clench his fists in his pockets. Like he’s trying to physically hold himself back from reaching out to stroke the graven lines on his brow.
“Alex,” Guerin breathes. Then he glances to the side, catches sight of Kyle, and his eyes narrow, face shuttering. “Valenti.”
He stretches, but the way he holds himself after is sore and wrong. Kyle bites his tongue.
Michael looks between the two of them. “What do you want?”
Kyle says, “Well, we would have called, but you happened to be hanging out under fifteen feet of rock and lead…”
Alex shoots him a look, and Kyle holds his hands up in surrender. Michael fumbles with his phone, checks the screen and the complete lack of notifications and grumbles under his breath.
“I don’t need babysitting,” he snaps, shoving it back into his pocket and getting to his feet. He looks around, drags his hand down his face, kicks a couple acetone bottles under the table.
“And I’m not a babysitter. I wanted to see how your work was going. We did knock,” Alex adds, mouth curling into a little smile. It’s not a lie, per se, but Kyle also isn’t sure that stomping around kicking snow and ice away counts as knocking.
“Work, huh? That why you’ve got the Love Doctor over here riding sidecar?”
“Hey, I can contribute,” Kyle protests, but Michael just shoots him a rude smirk and doesn’t answer.
Alex says, “Sure, work. Why don’t we get out of here so you can tell us about it?”
Kyle adds, “Owner of Bean Me Up tells me I get free bagels for life. Buy you a coffee?”
“Sounds good.” Alex heads for the ladder; he stops beside Guerin, just a stutter-step, and squeezes his shoulder in a brief, jumping caress, then continues past him. Guerin sways in place for a second longer, but Alex doesn’t look back, eating up the space toward the outside in long strides. Kyle trails after him more slowly, not putting a foot on a rung until he hears Guerin’s footsteps behind him.
The whole way up the ladder, Guerin mumbles, “I get free bagels at the preppy coffee place, Alex. I’m so helpful and accommodating, Alex. I can sit, stay, and roll over, Alex…”
If he kicks a little snow down on Guerin’s face when he climbs out of the hatch, he’ll plead the fifth about it later.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Guerin looks worse out in the gray winter sunlight. The shadows under his eyes are less bruised and more gaunt; everything about him is thin and stiff and unsteady. Walking behind them, Kyle sees Alex’s hand come up and fall away a dozen times, hovering over Guerin’s lower back but never touching him. He hunches his shoulders against the icy breeze, and Kyle’s just glad he at least has a hat and scarf.
Bean Me Up is a welcome gush of hot air and the delicious, life-giving scent of coffee. Guerin wanders over to a corner table without saying anything, but Alex orders him a black coffee anyway with a set to his jaw that says he’ll get something warm in Guerin’s stomach if it’s the last thing he does. Like always, Mr. Gutierrez, the owner, comes out of the back to shake Kyle’s hand, and, like always, Kyle squeezes back and fights back an embarrassed flush at the man’s overwhelming gratitude. Eventually he’s left with a heated face and a bag full of fresh bagels and cream cheese and he weaves back through the tables to where Michael and Alex have their heads tilted together.
Guerin’s eyes are closed, but he nods every so often to something Alex says, and when he hears Kyle approach he opens them and sits up straighter, a funny little smile moving his lips but not his eyes.
“The mighty hero returns,” he says. His head tilts just slightly to the side as he says it, and something in the motion and in the sad little curl of his mouth takes the mockery out of his words.
Kyle clears his throat and plops the bagels down on the table, pulls out a chair, and peels his gloves off to feel the heat of his coffee cup against his chilled fingers.
“Mine better have cinnamon on it,” Guerin adds, but he’s just being difficult because he doesn’t even reach for the bag, and when Alex hands him one he doesn’t say a word about the flavor or wait to add butter or cream cheese before digging in.
Kyle’s phone buzzes, and he glances down. It’s a text from Alex: No progress. Don’t ask. Kyle’s eyes flick up to Guerin, who is slumped back in his chair again like he could be sleeping and eating at the same time, then over to Alex, who is staring out the window with tight lines at the corners of his mouth. This close to the light, his eyes are a warm maple-brown, and all Kyle can do is sigh twin sighs, half admiration, half sadness at the grim glassiness there. Alex eats his bagel by tearing it into tiny, bite-sized pieces and spreading each with a mathematically equal portion of cream cheese. Kyle takes his to go.
When they hit the street again, the wind has picked up. Instinctually, Kyle takes up position at Guerin’s other side this time, rudely monopolizing the sidewalk but needing to be there to bear his weight if his knees give out from under him. It’s impossible to tell if it’s some sort of latent alien influence or what, but the exhaustion sloughing off of him in waves has Kyle all on edge.
As they reach Alex’s car, snow starts falling, fat, wet flakes that land in Guerin’s limp curls and immediately start to melt. He shivers violently, and Kyle pulls in closer, so the three of them have their body heat all circled.
Alex goes to open the driver’s side door, but Kyle catches him on the elbow to pull him in.
“Hey,” he murmurs, and Alex raises a questioning eyebrow. “My place?”
Kyle’s house is closer by far than the junkyard or the cabin, and it has the added benefit of not being powered by a generator that takes ten minutes to heat up. Both of them glance at Michael, who sways dangerously in the next gust of wind, and Alex nods.
Kyle ushers Michael into the passenger seat where he can get the full blast of the heater. When he climbs into the back, he can’t help but grip the corner Michael’s seat like he’s gripping his shoulder. He wishes he was. He’s never seen Guerin look so…fragile. Insubstantial, when he’s usually a swaggering, aggravating force of nature.
Now, it’s like a piece of him has died or something.
Kyle sighs.
Alex drives with one hand, the other one gripping Michael’s knee. It’s a short drive from the center of town to Kyle’s house, but by the time Alex parks, Guerin is already fading fast. He can barely stand when he climbs out of the car, and—this can’t be normal, can it? Kyle swallows down a scream of frustration. He wants Guerin to sit still to get checked over. Wants to check him for dehydration, for severe exhaustion, for a dozen other things that come from overwork and neglect and acute, mind-altering grief. But he unlocks the door while Alex tugs Guerin’s arm over his shoulder, and they maneuver him onto Kyle’s couch, and even if it goes against everything, that’s just going to have to be enough.
“Where,” Michael mumbles, swinging his head back and forth like moving his eyes is too much work.
“Welcome to my humble abode.” Kyle opens the hall closet and goes onto his tiptoes to get his grandma’s quilt.
“Hate you.”
“I know.”
He comes back with his arms full of blankets, and over the top of them he sees Michael’s head pillowed on Alex’s thighs, and he smiles, glad he hadn’t grabbed a pillow yet. Dumping his armful right on top of Guerin, burying him in fabric, he laughs at the angry grumbling coming from the pile until Guerin manages to smack it away from his face. He turns to leave, to go to the kitchen and get some coffee or tea started or something—or maybe to stay out of the way he could start prepping something for them to eat later, a nice, light broth that would be warm and not too heavy on Guerin’s system—but before he gets more than a few steps away, he’s stopped by a hand grabbing his sweatshirt.
Kyle blinks.
“Valenti,” Guerin rasps, “Take a load off before you give me a complex.”
Laughing a bit breathlessly, Kyle responds, “Thought you hated me.”
“Just sit down, asshole. ‘M tired.”
Guerin’s yanking and shoving on Kyle’s clothes is feeble, but he goes along with it until he’s down at the other end of the couch from Alex, with Guerin’s calves resting in his lap. He tugs the quilt down over Guerin’s feet, and in response Guerin pulls his legs up so he can dig his toes into Kyle’s leg.
Kyle glances up and meets Alex’s eyes while Guerin wiggles a little more, rubbing his cheek cat-like on Alex’s thigh. It isn’t going to fix anything, the two of them holding him here, like this. But Alex gently, oh so gently, rests his hand on Michael’s curls, his thumb skimming along the delicate curve of his ear, and Kyle lays his hand heavy and pinning on Michael’s legs, and.
Maybe it will help. If nothing else, Michael needs a good night’s sleep. Even if it’s on a couch. Even if he wakes up tense from nightmares. Even if Kyle and Alex have to sit up all night anchoring him at either end. Maybe it’s just…worth it.
Kyle lays his arm across the back of the couch, and Alex slides his hand into his.

Another long SPN post
This time it’s notes from my WIPs. I never actually really wrote any of these, but tags and titles are included. Anyone can use these as starting points for a fanfic, have fun
Henry/Balthazar Summary: When Henry’s mentor, Benny, doesn’t return from the war Henry is saddened. He refuses to believe Benny died. Won’t even entertain it. On the way to find his missing mentor/father figure, he meets Balthazar. A strange man with a british accent and a habit of flirting with everyone, especially him. He finds Benny. He finds love. THen Balthazar tells him he’s from another time period and has to go. The last chapter is Balthazar saving Henry from Abaddon. Side note: Henry has blue eyes that Balthy apparently likes to wax poetic about Chapter One The day’s circled on his calendar. ‘Benny comes home’. That would be today. Or, it would’ve been. He had gotten the letter a week ago. ‘Benjamin Lafitte died in the war. We send our condolences.’ The letter, of course, wasn’t actually as cold and unfeeling as that. But it didn’t matter. Because it felt like that. It felt like someone had taken him and shoved him in an ice bath. He couldn’t believe the letter. He wouldn’t believe the letter. Benny had promised he’d live through this war. And if he had to find him, then by golly he’d find him. Even if he had to do it on his own. Henry snuck out of the bunker that night. A pack of food was the only thing he brought with him. That, and a picture of him and Benny. No one caught him on the way out. He knew the passages too well. He stole a bike from the garage, and left. There would be no note left in his absence. No trace of where he’d gone. Because if he’d left one, he worried that they’d try to find him. Find him and drag him back. But he couldn’t go back. Not now. Not without Benny. New section He’d been on the hunt for four days now. Had traveled from Lebanon, Kansas to Chattanooga, Tennessee and was slowly making his way to the Georgia coastline. His plan was to check coastal cities first. Then he’d work inwards till he covered all of the US. He only hoped Benny would return here and not go to another country. This is where he runs into Balthazar It’s when he’s asking a bartender if he’d ever seen Benny, while showing his picture Balthy comes up to him and says “Are you from around here, because you’re a perfect ten.”

Don't Make Bets With Love Goddesses Five chapters Alternative meeting, canon divergent, Gabriel is Loki, Aphro has her son arrow multiple people, but Gabe bypasses them all “You cheated!” “That never seemed to matter to you before, now how did I cheat?” “Eros shot Sam with an arrow!” “My son’s arrow never touched the Winchester.” Everyone has what the humans would call a ‘soulmate’, not everyone finds them and they're not always romantic. It looks like Gabe found his, though.
Chapter One Explains how Loki has messed around, yet has never fallen in love “I will never fall in love” the Norse god boasted. He was talking out of his ass, and Aphrodite knew it. Loki bets Aphrodite that he will never fall in love She accepts with a wicked twinkle in her eye Aphro has never been able to pass up bets, especially when they deal with love He was close once, with Kali, but it ultimately fell flat It didn’t even actually fall flat with Gabe, but with Kali who could sense his growing attachment and cut off their involvement before it could happen. They had made a promise to each other that their thing would remain ‘no strings attached’. Then years where nothing happens
Chapter Two Sam enters the scene He’s tall and handsome; funny, sarcastic, witty. And he’s one of the only people Gabe has ever met that won’t take his crap. That will see right through it. Gabriel vows right then and there that he won’t fall in love with Sam.
----
Different Circumstances Summary: Where the first meeting isn't of a boy with demon blood and an archangel, hidden as a trickster god, disguised as a janitor. Nor is the second meeting, or the third, or even the fifth. Until suddenly it is and the world seems just that much more messed up. Six chapters Tags: Canon divergent, Canon universe, 5 + 1 format, fluff, angst
Chapter One High school Gabe is the ‘bad kid’ They bond over pranks, and Gabe teaches Sam a few tricks
Chapter Six Sam connects all the dots and realizes the few people he had met in his life, the ones other than Jess that he had clicked with on automatic, were all the same person. Where all the trickster, Loki the god of mischief, and Gabriel the messenger of God. He hadn’t even clicked with Jess as quickly as he had seemed to click with each and every version of Gabe he had met. And now he was gone.
----
To Heal A Soul Summary: Castiel isn't the only angel who tried to save Sam Winchester from the Cage. But while Castiel got a body, the other found only a soul. Tiny and broken, frayed at the edges, yet still somehow alive curled up in the corner of the Cage. Gabe keeps and heals Sam’s soul until he feels that it could be replaced with minimum consequences, when he does replace it there is still a battle. Gabe can’t help him with this battle, none of Team Free Will can. Gabe's dog is Max Chapter One Gabe gets Sam’s soul, just his soul, from the Cage because he knows what’ll happen if he puts his soul back in his body after Lucifer had ripped it out Sam gets a different… form type thing. Like, I don’t know Gabe uses pagan magic to give Sam a body like his own Explains to Sam the situation

Stacy’s Dad (Lafittz) Tags: help me for i know not what im doing, i love this song and had to do this though, babysitter!garth, single father!benny, female teen oc, benny is older than garth by a few years, dilf!Benny, Notes: I'm sorry for the dilf tag, but I thought of it and it was too funny to me to not include it. Garth’s turned twenty a day ago, and is babysitting Benny’s kid (she’s twelve, so it’s not exactly babysitting) Benny’s thirty (his wife and him had Stacy when they were eighteen, they married right out of high school) Garth asks Benny out, saying that he promised him when he was eleven he’d go out with him when he turned twenty Stacy and Garth go to the pool, where Benny may work as a lifeguard Or, Stacy met Garth during her freshman year and they hit it off immediately as friends But Stacy liked Garth, and when he met Stacy’s dad it was practically love at first sight. (Because he's mushy like that) Or Benny and Andrea had her at sixteen, and Benny was estatic. Sure, it was early and he wasn't sure if he was ready, but he'd be damned if he didn't try to be a good father.
----
Scarecrow Summary: Remake where Cas is a “hunter” who Dean picks up on the way to ----, he's working the same case and they decide to pretend to be a couple to solve it. Also, instead of Meg, Sam runs into Gabriel because he picks him up on the road before he got to Meg. Sam’s part is inspired in part by the honeythief amv. Tags: s01e11 Scarecrow, rewrite, i tried, canon divergent, canon hopping, beginning unchanged, fake/pretend relationship, bonding(????) Dean picks up Cas either along the road (a parallel of their brothers) or at the food place he and Sammy split A man slid into the seat Sam had vacated, black hair Dean could only describe as bedroom hair, piercing blue eyes, and a trenchcoat. “So you're going after the missing couples, too?” The other couple isn't there, instead the people there immediately assume they're a couple Cas immediately goes with it and when Dean asks about it later he simply shrugs and explains that this job seemed to require some falsehood
---- Short ficlet where they find Narnia. “I thought you'd already been to Narnia given how deep inside the closet you are,” Gabriel joked.
----
Sabriel Anniversary Sam: Gabriel, I figured we could go where I first fell in love with you. Gabriel: Sam, I'd rather not… Sam: Why not? Gabriel: I have bad memories there. Sam, in surprise: Bad memories? I mean , sure we tried to kill you Gabriel: Lucifer killed me. Sam: Oh… Oh! You were thinking Elysian Fields? I meant Crawford Hall! Gabriel: What? Sam nervously rubs the back of his neck while looking away: Yeah… Could never really get you out of my head after that. *looks back at him* Even when I really wanted to. ----
Everytime they find Gabriel again, Sam wants to ask Gabriel to help. He wants him to stay. Though he tells himself it's not for him, but the world. But then they leave him behind in that ring of holy fire. And he… dies. At the hands of Lucifer. Sam thinks that's it. But then he shows up again, only to save him and leave him. (But it wasn't just him- it was Castiel as well, he has to remind himself for the next few weeks till it sticks.) So this time Sam swallows everything down, and he tells himself it's okay. Gabriel would've never stayed. And that's fine. Then Gabriel's back again, and he finally agrees to be on their team. He finally agrees to simply stay, even if it isn't for him. So of course he has to die all over again. ----
A rebound. Gabriel knows that's exactly what this is. After knowing Sam for all these years, he can read him. Read him easier than he can read himself. Heck, he knew Jess and Sam’d date the second he saw them together. And just as he knew, a month later they were dating. So yeah, Gabriel knew how to read Sam and how he felt about others. Romantic feelings just weren't there for him. Sure, Sam sounded sincere. He truly believed he liked Gabriel, and Gabriel knew that. But he knew his best friend and he knew the feelings were just his body’s half-assed attempt at fixing whatever hole Jess had left him with that he refused to recognize.
“I'm not ready.” It's not a lie. Gabriel isn't ready to date anyone, even if he loves Sam with all his heart. But he refused to be a rebound. He told the girlfriend Sam has before Jess- Ruby- as much when she gave him her twisted blessing after Sam broke up with her. If Sam knew that's what he was looking for in Gabriel, it would crush him. The poor kid would feel terrible, and Gabriel knows it. That is something he won't allow. Sam deserved happiness, but it couldn't be with him. Not now. Maybe not ever.
---- Crime Cleaners crime scene cleaners sam and dean who get roped into something well above their paygrade by two particular Novaks, possible villain being Luci and Lilith, who is his 'queen' they definitely get help from their friend Bobby and the Novak's friends Charlie, Rowena, and Rowena's girlfriend, the coroner Billie Or, serial killers God and his Righteous Man, who are secretly Dean and Cas. Gabe and Sam are the ones trying to find them.
----
John Winchester and Chuck Shurley meet the parents thing. John first meets Cas, and Dean explains that Cas is his husband. Then he meets Gabriel, Sam’s bondmate-husband- and an archangel. When he mentions how weird this is, Gabriel is the one who points out that “If you think it's weird that your son in laws are angels, just remember that their father in law is literally God.”
----
Normal au, Gabriel shows up out of nowhere because he has to do a blood sugar test to check for diabetes or some shit and he just grabs Sam: “I need your blood.”

I don't have any electricity right now. I came home around 4PM and it was out. Some dude in the hallway said it would be on after 5. Its ten til 6PM and no sign of electricity. Apparently there was a wreck. I didn't see anything on my way home so I dont know how reliable that info is. Could be true. Idk. Doesn't matter. Its not too hot thankfully and I can color until it comes back on. I just want to play sims and watch queer eye.
We played at my sisters house with her baby pool. Our friend Jen came over with her almost 2 year old Kinsley. She's delayed in her development a little bit. Not sure why or how. But she and Sophia and Aria had so much fun together. Jen and my sister Andrea taught in the same school for years. I've known jen since like 2011, through Andrea. She got pregnant the same time Andrea did, and Kinsley was born literally hours before Aria, just down the hall from Andrea. So Kins birthday is August 2nd, also my moms birthday. And Arias is August 3rd. Which made my mom so happy, she wanted her grandchildren to have their own birth days. So the babies are just immediately best friends because we moms say so lol
I finally ordered sophia a 15 dollar long sleeve two piece bathing suit from carters today. I didn't even realize she needed one. All this stuff I've been buying and I never thought about summer stuff. Andrea had an extra one, it was 24 months so it was almost too small but it worked for today. I appreciated it. I was just letting her run in shorts and a shirt sans diaper. Jen offered a swim diaper and Andrea offered the swim suit. I just took it. It was nice to hang out. Ordered pizza. Had snacks. The girls played in the dirt. They're hilarious. They want to go to a farm next week. I might just send Soph with her babysitter. My baby sister. Dayawna. I dont feel like walking around a farm on one of my only days off.
I think I'll put us in a bath with a bath bomb, maybe. Soph needs one anyway. I guess this will post when the wifi and electricity comes back on.

Hi, I love your writing! Here is my prompt for you, if you feel like writing about it. Edo comes home earlier and finds his brother's threw a party. He sees Ele and realizes she's super drunk so he takes care of her, stopping his brother from trying anything.
“Andrea, what the fuck is going on?”
Edoardo’s firm grip grapped Andrea by the shoulder, turning the older boy around so fast Andrea nearly fell off his feet. His eyes were drunkenly disoriented, and the second he took a step closer to his younger brother, Edoardo could smell marijuana wafting from his skin. Predictable.
“It’s a party, Edo! Surely you know what that is, at least judging by the empty, expensive whiskey bottles in your-”
“Shut the fuck up, Andrea. I didn’t come here to hear you talk shit, I came here because of Eleonora,” Edoardo snarled, forcing himself to stay still all the while every single cell in his body was just asking for permission to punch Andrea.
Andrea looked around, confused. His face was a mask of false ignorance, and with a chuckle he shrugged. “Eleonora? Who’s that, again?”
The urge grew within Edoardo, and he closed his eyes. “You know exactly who Eleonora is, you fucking asshole. Where is she?”
“Listen, do I look like a babysitter? It’s not my job to see that your slut of the month doesn’t get fucked up and end up passing out-”
The tone in Edoardo’s thoughts changed immediately, and his anger for Andrea was overthrown by his alarm for the safety of his girlfriend. “She what? Eleonora passed out?”
Andrea fell silent, clearly realizing that he had said too much. A flash of disappointment was evident at the corners of his mouth, but he looked away quickly to hide it from his brother. Again, he shrugged. “Yeah, something like that. Don’t know where she is though.”
“Who’s where?” At the exact moment a drunken guy - who Edoardo recognised to be one of Andrea’s best friends - stumbled on the scene, resting his arm on Andrea’s shoulder.
Then, without bothering to acknowledge the tense looks on both of the brothers’ faces, he continued: “Eleonora? The hot, young one? What the fuck Andrea, is your memory getting fucked up or something? You took her to the guest bedroom like ten minutes ago, just before Edoardo came-”
The words were enough. Edoardo’s glare shot from the guy to Andrea, his anger invading every single cell of his body. Andrea fell silent as he saw the anger grow in his little brother, knowing that Edoardo had caught him in his lie. Andrea scratched his neck in a nervous manner.
“Edoardo, listen-”
Hearing Andrea’s voice was enough for Edoardo, and without a second thought he hit his older brother, enjoying the hollow sound as his knuckles collided with Andrea’s cheek. Andrea fell off his feet this time for real, landing on the floor at Edoardo’s feet. A trickle of blood was slowly dripping off his cheek as he laid there gasping, growling silent curses at Edoardo.
Edoardo only gave himself a few seconds to enjoy the sight of Andrea spitting up blood at his feet, and then he turned around on his heels and raced down the hallway toward the guest bedrooms. A few drunk strangers passed him as he made his way down the hallway, pushing people out of his way with little concern for their reaction.
Only one bedroom door was shut, like someone was trying to hide something from the rest of the party. Slowly Edoardo opened the door, scared of what he might have to face. Eleonora was there, sprawled out on Andrea’s bed, her eyes closed. Silent, raspy breaths were slipping off of her lips.
She was half-naked, and Edoardo’s heart sunk to the bottom of his stomach as he realized that.
“Eleonora!” Edoardo cried out, his voice shaking. He took the needed steps to reach the bed, his arms already wrapping around the half-unconscious girl. The movement made Eleonora groan and mumble something from under her breath.  It sounded like “no”.
Edoardo didn’t hesitate as he pulled off his own hoodie, his hands shaking with anger as he thought about the possibilities. What would have happened if Edoardo had not shown up on time? Eleonora was already nearly unconscious with alcohol, yet silent sobs were now ripping at her throat and chest, making the girl twitch against Edoardo’s chest.
“Eleonora,” Edoardo gasped, gently pulling the hoodie over the girl’s head. “Eleonora, love, can you hear me?”
Eleonora was like a small child when she curled up into a tiny ball inside Edoardo’s hoodie, grateful for the sudden warmth - and for the familiar scent of Edoardo.
“Yes,” Eleonora winced, her eyes still closed. Her head was resting against Edoardo’s chest as the boy pulled her up on her feet and then, without missing a beat, swooped her off of her own feet and into his arms. Eleonora gasped at the sudden, foreign movement, but then settled down as she realized that she could fall asleep again, this time without the fear of not knowing whose arms were around her.
“Let’s go home, love,” Edoardo whispered, pulling Eleonora closer to his chest.

Reader x Jude
Part II
——
Part I:
——
Warnings: zero, none, nada
Author note: alrighty, this turned out to be a slow burn. I can’t make our sweet boy Jude fuck on the first date 👌
Tumblr media
The next week, a Thursday evening, you were just about to leave for the day from the practice when the phone in your nurse station rang.
“Hello, this the Dr Ross paediatric centre, you are speaking with y/n” you said with a hint of forced enthusiasm.
“Oh, ah, hi! It’s Jude”
“Oh! Hi Jude, is Andrea okay?!” You said slightly concerned “I was just closing up here.”
“Oh shit, yeah, no, he is fine, I’m so sorry to ring at this time, I just have been trying to get hold of you, and didn’t know any other way” he admitted “I actually feel like a bit of an idiot, this is probably the fourth time I have rang, you have never been able to take my call.”
“Oh! Well now it makes sense why the receptionist said the other day that a lady with a deep voice named Judith had rung for me.” you said snorting.
You could hear Andrea babbling away in the background as Jude chuckled warmly ”Oh God, i am so sorry”.
”No, no, don't apologise, it was a temp receptionist and she seemed absolutely off the wall” you assured him ”anyway, what can i help you with?”
You heard Jude clear his throat before he said ”Well actually, uh, i was ringing to see if you wanted to get that coffee?”
“Oh! Yeah sure!” you said, blushing.
“OK great, are you free tomorrow?” you could hear the relief in his voice, “and could i get your number so i can message you incase...” Andrea suddenly started wailing in the background and he didn't finish his sentence.
You quickly gave him your number and hung up so he could tend to his son. You heart was beating rapidly.
Your rang Dr Ross (or as she insisted you call her, Jan).
”Hello, y/n, is everything ok?”
”Hi Jan, so sorry to bother you after hours, but uhhhh, i seem to have been asked out by a patients parent....” you admitted cautiously.
”Oh, so Jude finally did huh?” you could hear the smile in her voice.
”I’m sorry what!?” you laughed..
”Come on y/n, I've seen how he looks at you, I'm glad he finally did it, he is a lovely, lovely man” she gushed.
“I mean, wow....” was all you could manage.
“As for going around with a patients father, it is all ok legally, i checked it out a while ago” she assured, “let’s just say, i had a hunch.”
“Shit! Oh god sorry for cursing! I mean, thank you!” you stammered, laughing nervosly.
“Oh y/n, don't be ridiculous, I will see you tomorrow ok?” Jan replied with a laugh.
You said your goodbyes and hung up. She really was a terrific boss, you thought with a grateful smile.
Checking your phone you saw Jude and messaged you with the details about tomorrow morning. You replied and left work, with a slight spring in your step.
----
You woke the next day with a feeling of nervous excitement bubbling in your stomach.
You decided to take the half an hour walk through the city with Bil to meet Jude. You enjoyed walking, you were in the habit of walking everywhere, a side-effect of New York City.
As you walked up to the cafe where you were to meet Jude, you saw him before he saw you. He was sitting in the sun at a table outside, Andrea on his lap. We wore sunglasses and black v neck tee. Oh, he was handsome.
”Hi!” you said, announcing yourself.
Jude looked up and smiled warmly, “Hi, y/n” he took Andrea’s little hand and waved it at you.
”Awh! Hi handsome” you gushed as you bent down and ruffled Andreas hair.
“Jeez son you get all the pretty ladies, huh?” he said to Andrea, who babbled happily at him in return.
You sat down and Jude fussed over Bil as you ordered a coffee. Andrea climbed off Jude’s lap and came over you, you picked him up and popped him on your own lap.
“Honestly, that kid is the biggest ladies man I have ever met, but it is always one sided” he said with a wink, “you are one of the only women he has any interest in!”
”What an honour!” you exclaimed, laughing as you stroked Andrea’s soft locks. Jude smiled at you both tenderly.
You spent a while chatting about the usual kid stuff you were accustomed to, it was obvious Jude was distressed about Andrea’s lack of vocabulary at 2 and 1/2, you tried to reassure him.
You got onto the subject of dating,
”The thought of explaining this whole situarion” Jude said motioning at himself and Andrea, “to new people all the time is just exhausting.”
You nodded sympathetically.
”The solo dad/widower gig is crazy” he admitted, “it’s so nice to meet up with you y/n, I feel instantly at ease because I don't have to preface this with our big sob story, you know? Our world is pretty small”
“Well first off, it isn't a sob story Jude!” you said as you bounced Andrea on your knee, “but I can see how it would be so hard to get out there with everything going on.”
“I really feel like I need to focus on him while he is young, I don't want him to be fucked up from all of it” he nodded at Andrea.
”You are doing an incredible job” you beamed at him, taking a sip of your coffee.
Before you knew it you had been chatting away comfortably for 2 hours, you said with regret that you needed to drop Bil off at his dog day care and head to work. You parted ways with smiles.
----
After work that evening you checked your phone, there was a message from Jude.
I really enjoyed coffee this morning, how about dinner on Sunday? I will try get a babysitter so I’m not competing for your attention.
Haha! Sounds lovely! You replied.
----
On Sunday you were a bundle of nerves, you had never spent time with Jude, without Andrea there as a sort of, buffer. However you were looking forward to getting to know him better and seeing how he scrubbed up. He had chosen a slightly upmarket restaurant in Manhatten for dinner.
You spent the early evening flapping about deciding what to wear. Eventually you settled on a simple yet chic black dress that was entirely fitted and hugged all your curves. It went to mid calf but had a slit up the left leg to mid thigh that made it a touch sexy. The v neck cut showed enough cleavage to be enticing. You chose some simple pointed toe heels to go with it. You wore your hair down, something that you didn't do often, and styled it into soft waves. You did your usual makeup, but added a bold red lip for the occasion. You looked in the mirror and breathed in and out deeply.
You got a cab to the restaurant, arriving before Jude and you decided to wait outside for him.
“Y/n!”
You turned and saw Jude grinning and striding toward you. Jesus take the wheel.
He. Looked. So. Good.
You inhaled sharply, taking in the sight. He was in a crisp pale blue dress shirt and black dress trousers. His dark hair shined and softly waved around his face. You collected yourself and smiled,
“Hey Jude, gosh you look very handsome!”
You saw a red hue tinge his cheeks at the compliment.
“I mean, thanks, but you look...wow” he said as he ran his fingers through his hair.
It was your turn to blush.
“Yeah, decided to give the scrubs the night off” you joked.
He put his hand gently on your back and motioned to the door, “shall we?”
During dinner the wine flowed and the conversation and laughter with it. You hardly noticed what you were eating as you talked.
Neither of your wanted the night to end and after dinner you walked to a jazz bar you had heard of nearby. Both nicely buzzed on alcohol, any awkwardness was erased as Jude dragged you to the dance floor. You both laughed and danced until you were out of breath, retiring to the bar.
“I honestly haven’t had this much fun in ages” Jude confessed, beaming “I forgot what it is like to socialize after 6pm!”
“Thanks for asking me to be your accomplice” you said resting your hand on his upper arm.
You ordered another red wine each and clinked glasses.
“To dancing badly!” Jude announced.
You laughed, “long may it continue!”
When your glasses were drained, Jude checked his watch and groaned.
“I best be going home in about half an hour.”
The jazz band started a slow number, and he extended his hand to you.
“My lady?”
You snorted, and grabbed his hand, “let’s show them how it’s done.”
He dragged you to the dance floor, then turned to face you. Even in your heels he was tall, you reached and put one hand on his shoulder and slipped your other hand into his. He placed his free hand on your waist.
In your joyous alcohol induced state you closed the gap between your bodies and rested your head on his broad chest, closing your eyes and humming along to the music. Jude didn't miss a beat, lowering his head and rest it against yours affectionately. You stayed this way, swaying to the music, until it was time to go.

deputy alice riley
Soooooooooo this is gonna be long, but it’s pretty much anything you could ever want to know about alice lol
her full name is Claire Alice Riley, though she pretty much only goes by Alice. Staci calls her Allie, and she haaates it.
She was born in Falls End on October 30th, 1992.
Her face claim is Anya Taylor-Joy, just shorter (5′) and with pink hair. She naturally has dark brown hair, though when her hair isn’t pink, she dyes it blonde.
Her childhood in Fall’s End was fairly average - her sister was annoying (Jane was the designated babysitter, and hated it), so was her brother (he loved frogs and spiders, she… didn’t; though she got him back by her loving snakes and him being terrified of them, which is still true), her parents were happily married. The car crash happened after a Girl Scout’s meeting (the troop disbanded not long after, but not because of the crash) that her dad picked her up from. She came out with a broken arm and a concussion, but that was it. She doesn’t really remember much from the few hours before or after the crash. A few years after, the Sheriff had Jane (who had custody at this point) send her and Caleb to California, where her aunt and uncle were her legal guardians. Her uncle is a chef for big events, so he had weird hours, but they were able to live comfortably and (to Alice’s amazement, Caleb’s disdain) to have passes to Disneyland and Knott’s Berry Farm. Her aunt works in the industry and travels a lot, but both of them tried to be home more for the first few weeks after the twins moved in. The twins were both involved with theatre, but Caleb is the one with the real acting talent - Alice thought about being a voice actor, but it’s more of a hobby for her than anything.
Her family owns the Fall’s End Garage - she’s not the best at the mechanical side of running the shop, but she’s pretty good at running the business side of things. She wanted to ban peggies from the shop, but Jane wouldn’t let her.
Lives in the house behind the garage in Fall’s End - it was her parents, her sister kept it after she moved in with her then-boyfriend - she didn’t want to stay, but nobody was really looking to buy houses at that point, so she boarded it up for the twins. Jane joined after the house was “given” to Alice, so the house was fine.
She misses LA like crazy, especially once winter hits. She loves having rainy days again, but ten years of no winter? Her dream.
Her brother, Caleb, thinks the testy festy is hilarious, and after everything is over, is so mad that he missed it. Alice doesn’t agree with him. At all.
She’s technically Catholic - she was baptised, went to her first communion, and then pretty much stopped going to church. She goes to Pastor Jerome’s masses for the comfort and traditions when she moves back, but she doesn’t really believe.
She loves being on the water. She prefers surfing and kayaking, but adapts to the lakes and rivers of Hope County quickly. She’s not a huge fan of fish, but she starts to like fishing at some point. She definitely prefers it to hunting, and if given the choice, will definitely go fishing.
Speaking of hunting... Alice has a habit of darting off into a field of bliss when she’s bored hunting in the Henbane. She doesn’t actively do drugs, and doesn’t want to be an angel, but... She gets bored. And has impulse issues sometimes.
The Seeds tease/taunt her because of her height - she doesn’t even come up to Jacob’s shoulder, which I also think is kinda hilarious lol. Staci used to tease her too, but the entire department learned not to/were told by Whitehorse to stop (unless she can’t reach something and she doesn’t have anything to climb on)
When everything’s done, she helps Grace open up a little cafe. There’s plenty of people to help run it, and she thinks that (after a nice vacation) it would be good for Grace, and eventually Jess as well.
The Sheriff forces her to take a vacation after everything. She tries to go back to just being the Junior Deputy, but she gets roped into continuing to help the resistance. She pretty much takes over Virgil’s responsibilities as mayor, and helps to set up a small school for the few kids left in the county.
If you’ve seen Wynonna Earp - she has the same blue and white truck as Wynonna. She came back to Fall’s End with her little electric car, but that isn’t really feasible to keep using, so she took it up to Missoula one day and sold it. The salesman tried to sell her a fancy new truck, but she was happy with the one Jane had kept for her.
Most called gun for hire: Jess and Grace. She’s not the best at being sneaky, and her eyes aren’t the best for sniping (she had an optometrist appointment for a week after the initial mission, she obviously missed it), so she almost has one or both of them with her. When she needs to just fuck shit up, she’ll call Sharky, though
She started at the sheriff’s office as a secretary - it was a job, and she’d be able to look after her sister (“who didn’t need looking after” but there had been some fainting spells), and then after Hudson’s partner died, Whitehorse told her that she could apply for the role, and she took him up on that.
If she did join the cult, she’d have a fairly nondescript position - probably something administrative, as that’s what her degree is in. Definitely something behind the scenes and non-violent.
Fucking loves disaster movies. She’s a slut for disaster movies. Like, she’ll sit through all the shitty SyFy channel ones as well as the big budget ones (San Andreas is one of her favorites - it’s so cheesy, but it has Dwayne Johnson and Alexandra Daddario, AND GIANT FUCKIN EARTHQUAKES. And the guy from Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries who is a total teddy bear)
She doesn’t really like planes or helicopters - if they are needed, she’ll get Nick or Addie. She knows enough to take off and land, but she’ll avoid flying herself if at all possible. The mission where Kim has her take Carmina and blow up peggie supplies? Fucking terrifying.
She rock climed and did some parkour back in LA. She didn’t keep up with it when she moved, but it obviously comes in handy...
Alice has two cats: Crookshanks and Data. They are both huge Norwegian forest cats, Crookshanks is an orange tabby, and Data is a grey tabby. When she’s not home, Mary May happily takes care of them.
She has a shitton of anxiety problems. She had a decent supply of meds when shit went down.
She has a major panic attack after driving Nick and Kim to the clinic. Even without the shit all over the road, she was terrified that she would crash and hurt or kill the Ryes.
Relationships:
Jane - She’s 8 years older than Alice. Alice absoultely does not approve of her relationship with John, and is horrified when she finds out that her sister married the fucker.
Caleb - Both of them are horrible at keeping in contact, so he’s not worried at all when she goes off the radar.
Joseph - She thinks he’s full of shit lol
John - Direct quote from when she’s told her sin is wrath: “No, it’s not wrath, it’s I fucking hate you.” Once they’re able to laugh about it, Hudson doesn’t let her live that down.
Faith - Uh, she obvs thinks Faith is the cutest. She has a hard time keeping her sass to an angry level, rather than super flirty.
Jacob - They fucked. After the Rye’s barbeque with the infamous watery mac n cheese. I still haven’t figured out why? She hates him now, and absoultely regrets the one night stand (...mostly. She thinks.)
Mary May - Her childhood best friend. They tried to keep in contact after Alice moved, but they eventually both moved on - Alice with new friends in LA, Mary May with helping to run the bar.
Pastor Jerome - He doesn’t mind that she isn’t a practicing Catholic, and welcomes her with open arms. She tries to get people to go to his church again after everything, to mixed levels of success.
Dutch - She’s not a huge fan of him, but she’s grateful for his help, and he is grateful for what she does and how she helps Jess.
Eli - He can’t reconcile the image of the Junior Deputy and the Alice he knows in his head - she doesn’t act anything like the rumors flying around the county, but he loves her (as a friend).
Tracey - They don’t get along very well - it’s a very strained, very professional relationship. Tracey knows that Alice likes Faith, and is very worried that she’ll be too soft on her.
Virgil - She loves his pins, which makes her super cool in his book. They quickly become friends, and he becomes a sorta mentor to her before his death.
Nick and Kim - Nick finds it hilarious that she hates planes so much, and he only uses it to tease her sometimes. Nick quickly becomes like an older brother to her, and she spoils Baby Rye rotten after she’s born.
Adelaide - Also amused by Alice’s feelings on flying, but doesn’t bring it up often as Alice was a frequent visitor to the marina before shit went down. Adelaide doesn’t understand Alice’s crush on Faith, but she will tease her about it (as long as Alice doesn’t defect).
Grace - The two met once before Grace’s parade, and then again at Alice’s dad’s funeral. They get along pretty well, and Alice always has her with her when liberating outposts or doing anything that requires her to have good vision.
Hurk - He drives her insane. She thinks he’s funny, and a really nice guy, but he’s so loud.
Sharky - On the other hand, she loves Sharky. She teases him about the time he puked on Grace every time he mentions having an upset stomach. They’ve drunkenly kissed a few times, but they both try and act like it didn’t happen.
Jess - In the main story? Her girlfriend by the end of the game. Jess teaches her how to hunt properly, even though Alice hates it. Jess joins in her teasing of Sharky about the puking. She hates it when Jess uses the fire arrows - Sharky and Hurk already set her clothes on fire, she doesn’t need it from her super-stealthy person! At the end of everything, she tries to convince Jess to play video games (instead of killing people), to some but not much success.
Relationship wise: They start off with drunken kisses, then one night stands, and then realise that the amount of one night stands (and nights when they fall asleep together) they have mean they’re kinda girlfriends.
Fangs - She sleeps with Boomer in her bed every night, despite her cats protests. She’ll cuddle with Peaches and Cheeseburger when it’s cold and she’s outside, but it’s a little harder to get the two of them inside the house.
Marshal Burke - She thinks he’s a decent person, a little egotistical, but decent. She’s super shocked when he shoots himself.
Whitehorse - He’s part of the reason she starts to not mind fishing. He’s her surrogate dad, and has been looking out for her since her dad died. They’re both relieved to see each other after the crash.
Hudson - She’s not too sure about Alice at first, but she quickly becomes protective of the “city girl,” and willingly does all of the night driving.
Staci - Her brother’s ex-best friend (for the same reasons as with Mary May). She didn’t really get past “I tolerate you” until the events of the game. After he’s rescued, they become platonic cuddle buddies, even after he starts his thing with Stella. They both agree to not tell Caleb exactly what happened to both of them.
