People: Dragon Ball focuses too much on Goku. He’s so strong, so nobody else has to do anything.

Goku: Loses first 2 tournaments in og. Dies twice. Only kills one major villain in all of Dragon Ball Z, and it’s the villain that everyone wanted Gohan to kill.

Also are we just gonna ignore how the Namek/Frieza saga was mostly Krillin, Gohan, Piccolo, and Vegeta just doin shit? They did so much in that entire arc

I think the reason people separate Machine!Connor and Deviant!Connor so much as characters is because they don’t actually understand his motivations in the story. They don’t separate Violent!Marcus and Pacifist!Marcus because his motivation doesn’t change, his means do. Same with Kara. But Connors motivation isn’t as clear as theirs is so people default to the difference being caring about the mission or not, when the mission isn’t his motivation. His motivation is self preservation. The desire to be needed and useful; to live. The only difference really being if he is selfish about his self preservation or empathetic. Every defining moment for Connor is rooted in empathy or apathy, does he prioritize his own survival or does he lend empathy to others understanding that they want to live too?

#detroit become human #dbh connor #just thinking about it I guess lol #had my friend play the game for the first time and interestingly he played Connor with high empathy towards Hank but no one else #but in the end prioritized converting all the androids instead of saving Hank #which I found to be a very interesting play through! #i was played him highly empathetic to everyone (probably because I’m empathetic myself) so it was interesting to see someone else’s choices #hilariously he kept saying he was ‘going villain arc’ with Marcus but was continuously very pacifist until the attack on Jericho #he also prioritized Alice comfort and safety over most things but did make a point of saving Luther whenever he could #but his main thing seemed to be protecting his character and those they knew #he didn’t really care about anyone else #which is what made converting the androids instead of saving Hank so interesting because both characters died #but he decided the cause was more important #I need to see more people play for the first time! #it’s so interesting to see how people play the game #my text posts

New Gintama OC just dropped babes

Always loved to make not exactly human OCs, and Tama is one of my favorite characters. So I wanted to give a shot at making a android OC for Gintama.

So here's Favian. An android created by a company that had been inspired by the Fuyo project after it's closing. Their designs were inspired by the Fuyo. project too, such as the antenna like ears. Though The antennas of these kind are more articulated and allow for movement. The eye design also differs with a constant glow and pin sized pupils. Wich in turn can expand to reveal a solid white light within the eye when performing different tasks, such as searching for data, or scanning. Instead of being designed solely as maids, these androids were designed for more general community work. Such as electricians, crossing guards, garbage disposal, etc-.

Favian in particular works as a postal man. Although he does have the ability to perform other community services if needed. He takes his job extremely seriously, it is everything to him, and he'll do whatever it takes to deliver things in a timely matter. Using an internal GPS to find the quickest routes. Also thanks to his antennas picking up different signals, he's able to be summoned by nearby businesses and small businesses to directly take a delivery and take it to their customers within the city personally. Just if he ever receives one of those same day delivery requests at 11:59pm - he will be there, and that is a threat.

Also if he was allowed to interact with canon characters. Sadaharu would be his greatest rival. Gotta keep that dog and postman gag going-

When ranking a Dragon Ball movie, I use the four Cs method

Listed in order of importance:

Characters (how much I like everybody in the movie + their dynamics. This includes heros and villains)

Coolness (how're the fight scenes? How hyped am I? Am I going to be quoting it until the day I die?)

Concept (Is something new and fun introduced? Or are they just gonna reveal some new space dickhead/Frieza is back and the solution is 'Punch Harder')

Coherency (does it make sense? Does previous DB lore back it up?)

So for instance, a movie that is very cool and fun to see (subjective) with characters I like to watch do stuff but that makes no sense literally at all will rank higher than a movie with a well-put together plot but with characters I've seen do shit all the time

It's why I have a fondness for Bio-Broly even though it sucks. I like when background characters get to fuck around and I think the idea of a fucked up Broly clone rules.

Concept basically measures 'is this just a worse version of a canon arc?' eg Cooler, Android 13, Tree of Might, that one DB movie I can't remember but also ends in the panty wish; else it measures how many times has dragon ball done this before, like 'there is a guy from space and he is strong' like Broly's Return
